- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm Megan,
- 0:14Speaker 1: and I am a longtime Hallmark fan.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I fear the former is taking a leave of absence
- 0:23Speaker 1: in this episode for Wendy.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Tell them why.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I received a text from Wendy last night the bloom
- 0:29Speaker 1: is off, the Hope Valley rose for you.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I wish I was that eloquent.
- 0:33Speaker 1: He's just bored, a little bit bored, a little bit bored,
- 0:36Speaker 1: and you didn't reply, And I was like, hmm, she didn't.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I just as I was talking about that, I realized, because.
- 0:43Speaker 1: In the time, I was like, I don't know what
- 0:44Speaker 1: to say because I don't hate it, and I don't
- 0:46Speaker 1: want to be like contrary and be like, well.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I don't hate it. I don't know why. I'm always
- 0:50Speaker 2: open for discussion. I ought to know.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I just felt like saying like, oh, I still kind
- 0:55Speaker 1: of like it, being like I don't know, I don't know.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I think when.
- 1:00Speaker 1: We get through today's review from my POV, you'll understand
- 1:05Speaker 1: why I was a little bit bored by this episode. Oh,
- 1:08Speaker 1: I don't even think I need any further explanation. Underfied
- 1:11Speaker 1: and why you're bored. I will talk about it. We'll
- 1:13Speaker 1: get into it. But a quick reminder that we are
- 1:15Speaker 1: girls on Homewark everywhere, on the internet, on Instagram, on Facebook,
- 1:20Speaker 1: follow us.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Instagram is the very best place.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But we did discover through our recent listener survey that
- 1:25Speaker 1: a lot of you don't even know about the existence
- 1:27Speaker 1: of our website, Girls Gonehallmark dot com. It is a
- 1:32Speaker 1: wealth of information. There's so much good stuff over there.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Wendy was looking up something and she goes, when.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Did you even write this post? Yeah? Stuff appears over
- 1:40Speaker 2: there that you don't even know about. I think I'm
- 1:42Speaker 2: an active participant.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I like toff you were traveling when I had written
- 1:47Speaker 1: that particular post. Why don't we jump in to our
- 1:51Speaker 1: discussion of Hope Valley. I keep wanting to say Hill Valley.
- 1:55Speaker 1: That's from Back to the Future AW.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Episode five, with a synopsis.
- 2:02Speaker 1: When the children get lost in the woods, Rebecca opens
- 2:06Speaker 1: up about her past to Tom as they search, Alexander
- 2:09Speaker 1: helps Hattie crack her new safe. Clayton teaches Olivia woodworking.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Oh I bet he does. Sorry, I bet okay? I
- 2:22Speaker 2: was well apparently Wait can I just stop there for
- 2:30Speaker 2: a second.
- 2:31Speaker 3: I was in our Facebook group over the weekend and
- 2:34Speaker 3: somebody I don't remember what the discussion even was, but
- 2:37Speaker 3: the person was like, yeah, I don't like Kirstine and
- 2:40Speaker 3: I don't like gratuitous things.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I was like, whoops, and those just came out of
- 2:44Speaker 2: my mouth. I remember seeing that person's comments.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I was like. Episode five of Hope Valley eighteen seventy
- 2:50Speaker 1: four was directed by Alyssa Late Rogers. She's also directed
- 2:53Speaker 1: one calls The Heart Family Law, which, by the way,
- 2:57Speaker 1: I haven't watched that many episodes of, but I love
- 2:59Speaker 1: it and it's a little bit more edgy than your
- 3:01Speaker 1: typical Homewark Fair but I haven't gotten to the Benjamin
- 3:04Speaker 1: Ayers episodes yet, and Chesapeak Shores. This episode was written
- 3:10Speaker 1: by Melody Fox. Some of Melody's previous work includes Private
- 3:13Speaker 1: Eyes and Date My Dad, If you Know, you know
- 3:17Speaker 1: the Girl's Gone, homework, Date my Dad Relevance. Hey, Wendy,
- 3:22Speaker 1: what was your first impression of the fifth episode of
- 3:25Speaker 1: Hope Valley eighteen seventy four. It sometimes scares me when
- 3:28Speaker 1: you and I are on the same page, because yesterday's
- 3:32Speaker 1: episode you use the term nothing burger, and that is
- 3:37Speaker 1: my first impression this episode was a bit of a
- 3:39Speaker 1: nothing burger, but I still ate it.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Here's my first impression this episode. Do you understand why
- 3:56Speaker 2: that was in my head? No, it's so so.
- 4:00Speaker 1: There's no rain in good weather.
- 4:06Speaker 2: It was cold.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I saw Olivia's breath in that barn, making our own heat.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I guess.
- 4:18Speaker 1: We need this to be a video podcast. We need
- 4:20Speaker 1: to set up our podcast studio immediately next.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Fall it's coming.
- 4:24Speaker 1: You're gonna set it up over the summer that anyway.
- 4:29Speaker 2: All right, let's talk what we liked about this episode.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Finally we're getting to learn about Rebecca's passed Yeah, sort of.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I mean, we get a lot more than I thought
- 4:43Speaker 1: we were gonna get in this episode. So I'm glad
- 4:46Speaker 1: that we were finally geted some movement on her backstory.
- 4:50Speaker 1: It is about time. This was episode five, like way
- 4:53Speaker 1: to drag it out. I think they want to make
- 4:55Speaker 1: this series a tenor like a well, I know, it's
- 4:59Speaker 1: I think it's nice that we know we had said
- 5:01Speaker 1: it's not going to be that big of a deal.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I wouldn't say that it's not that big of a deal,
- 5:05Speaker 1: but Rebecca's not a criminal.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm kind of disappointed. By that.
- 5:09Speaker 1: To be honest, I'm not surprised by it. You thought
- 5:12Speaker 1: she was going to be on the lamb.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I yes, Like Jacob, it's the guys, I can't We're
- 5:22Speaker 2: so embedded in this world. I think it would raise
- 5:26Speaker 2: the steaks. Hmmm.
- 5:29Speaker 1: But maybe the way she's looking at it, has she
- 5:33Speaker 1: kidnapped Sarah from this family, her own, her husband's family.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Like she's free to leave, right, yes, but because Tom
- 5:42Speaker 1: says to her, what right do they have?
- 5:43Speaker 2: And she says none, but money.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Can buy anything, basically yes, So she's afraid, you know,
- 5:52Speaker 1: she wasn't good enough for their son and their eyes,
- 5:55Speaker 1: and she's afraid of the power that their money wields.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, the balls of these people to be like, well,
- 6:04Speaker 1: your husband died, so now your daughter should come under
- 6:07Speaker 1: our care, and you're gonna now chase her.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Across an entire country. Come on, for real?
- 6:14Speaker 1: How bad had Rebecca be? She's like, they never liked me, well,
- 6:17Speaker 1: because you know how to do everything, and that's why
- 6:20Speaker 1: they don't like you. Like, what could you possibly be
- 6:24Speaker 1: so unlikable? How could you be so unlikable? Well? But
- 6:27Speaker 1: I think also we're watching shows like the foresights where
- 6:29Speaker 1: we understand that it's not about who you are, it's
- 6:32Speaker 1: about what you have and what your family has done.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I mean, I can understand that she would be from
- 6:38Speaker 1: a world where you know, her in laws didn't love her,
- 6:41Speaker 1: and I did feel for her a little bit. When
- 6:44Speaker 1: she's like, I keep failing at keeping her safe. Rebecca's
- 6:48Speaker 1: spinning now because Sarah gets lost in the woods, and
- 6:52Speaker 1: so she's like, I can't keep her safe.
- 6:54Speaker 2: You know, this is pre cell phone, pre gps. How
- 6:56Speaker 2: are you going to a tract that kid? I get it.
- 6:59Speaker 1: And the original helicopter Mom, there were there were wolves.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, we're gonna talk about it. Yeah, okay,
- 7:07Speaker 1: we are going to talk about it. Another thing I like,
- 7:10Speaker 1: And this is in contrast to what I had mentioned
- 7:13Speaker 1: last week. Rebecca and Tom are soophening towards each other.
- 7:18Speaker 1: There is a noticeable shift here in this episode. Sure,
- 7:22Speaker 1: Tom's a little bit lighter. He makes a joke like
- 7:25Speaker 1: that's when I'm.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Like, oh, Benjamin arriag are so funny.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I know, I just like get weakened the knees for
- 7:32Speaker 1: him for some reason, get nineties girls. And I love
- 7:40Speaker 1: that Rebecca is finally opening up. She's like, not fully open,
- 7:44Speaker 1: but she's trusting Tom. Isn't it interesting that Tom is
- 7:49Speaker 1: the one she trusted because she had an opportunity to
- 7:52Speaker 1: open up to Hattie, right because Hattie even followed up
- 7:56Speaker 1: and said, is everything okay? After that letter you received?
- 7:59Speaker 1: And we've seen Rebecca and Pattie form a friendship.
- 8:03Speaker 2: But it ultimately it was Tom who she opened up to.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Right now, I have to say, wait, what happened?
- 8:12Speaker 1: Because when Tom comes to Rebecca at the end and
- 8:14Speaker 1: he's like, I saw the telegram. I didn't go hunting
- 8:17Speaker 1: for her, but I saw the telegram, and I was like,
- 8:21Speaker 1: am I missing something? Did they ever show Tom like
- 8:23Speaker 1: stumbling upon a letter and reading that letter?
- 8:26Speaker 3: No?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Okay, this is the quickest sure far away that Rebecca's
- 8:32Speaker 1: not gonna trust this man if he's like nosing around
- 8:34Speaker 1: and knows the details. You know, there's two telegrams, right
- 8:40Speaker 1: what did I miss? There's one previously that said like
- 8:44Speaker 1: you were right to leave, okay, and I think that's
- 8:48Speaker 1: the one he saw.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I don't think he saw this letter. Okay. When did
- 8:51Speaker 2: that telegram?
- 8:52Speaker 1: I don't know, actually know the only reason I know
- 8:56Speaker 1: it is because it's in the previously on and I thought,
- 8:58Speaker 1: I've watched when was this I don't know?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Interesting?
- 9:03Speaker 1: So that's what I believe he's talking about. And who knows,
- 9:09Speaker 1: you know, if a telegram, maybe he saw it at
- 9:10Speaker 1: the trading post, because I assume that's where telegrams come
- 9:13Speaker 1: and they're not in envelopes, and it's possible he saw that. Okay,
- 9:18Speaker 1: that's my understanding. Look, I like Tom comes to her
- 9:20Speaker 1: and he basically vows and says like, if anybody tries
- 9:23Speaker 1: to take Sarah away from me, like they have to
- 9:26Speaker 1: come through me first. Maybe that's why he trusts her,
- 9:30Speaker 1: like she needs a big strong man to help protect.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I don't know, Maybe that's why she trusts him. Yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 1: well but maybe so. As I was watching this episode,
- 9:42Speaker 1: I remember you thinking like, oh, it's so slow right
- 9:44Speaker 1: like there, and I thought, would it people believable any
- 9:47Speaker 1: other way? If they were falling into bed with each other,
- 9:50Speaker 1: would that romance be believable?
- 9:52Speaker 2: Where did that come from?
- 9:53Speaker 1: No? I don't think they should be falling into bed
- 9:55Speaker 1: with each other, Like I wouldn't find that believable either.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I appreciate that that have this conversation and this understanding
- 10:02Speaker 1: and they're becoming more comfortable with each other. What I
- 10:05Speaker 1: didn't like about this episode is the circumstances that got
- 10:08Speaker 1: them the missing children out.
- 10:10Speaker 2: In the woods.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I'm going to talk about it all in my wishes,
- 10:13Speaker 1: can't wait. I have a couple more likes. Okay, Sarah
- 10:17Speaker 1: I find just adorable. You know, I typically hate children.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I just think she's so cute.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Mela Morgan. She's a real chip off the old Rebecca block. Yeah,
- 10:26Speaker 2: you know, you know, she's like a caretaker, and I
- 10:30Speaker 2: thought she.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Was kind of more of the ones that was like
- 10:32Speaker 1: consoling the other two when you were like lost out
- 10:35Speaker 1: in the woods. Because she trekked across the frontier, she's
- 10:38Speaker 1: done hard things. Well that's what I'm thinking, is like
- 10:41Speaker 1: it reinforces that she's been forced into this like more
- 10:45Speaker 1: mature role for a long time, which I don't love,
- 10:49Speaker 1: but it just helps her story, I guess a little
- 10:53Speaker 1: bit like understanding of who she is, this kid who's
- 10:57Speaker 1: not fully a kid. Hattie's parent energy I found deeply
- 11:04Speaker 1: relatable when she's annoyed at Olivia for like things being misplaced,
- 11:09Speaker 1: So it was almost giving, like this is a married
- 11:11Speaker 1: couple that have are really annoyed with each other's I
- 11:14Speaker 1: just loved it when she was like, you could try
- 11:16Speaker 1: to be a little bit more like me, like try
- 11:19Speaker 1: to pick up some of my and then at the
- 11:21Speaker 1: end is very sweet when she's like, I want you
- 11:23Speaker 1: to be your own person. Yeah, that's that's a very
- 11:27Speaker 1: relatable parenting a young adult reality of like wanting to
- 11:33Speaker 1: make sure they have the skills to succeed in life,
- 11:36Speaker 1: but wanting them to be.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Their own person and seeing them come into that.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I mean at my house, you know, I have an
- 11:42Speaker 1: almost nineteen year old who's two weeks away from.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Finishing his first year in college.
- 11:46Speaker 1: So yeah, and we've had that same like push and
- 11:49Speaker 1: pull of independence too, because I'm like, yeah, you want
- 11:53Speaker 1: to be independent, but your car's filthy, Or you want
- 11:56Speaker 1: to be independent, but you're sending me a parking ticket
- 11:58Speaker 1: to pay, right, you want to be independent on your
- 12:03Speaker 1: own terms, yes, ma'am. Anyway, I find Hatty and Olivia's
- 12:08Speaker 1: storyline highly believable and enjoyable.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Quite frankly, me too. Anything else, you like, I have
- 12:13Speaker 2: one last thing.
- 12:14Speaker 1: We can finally see a little bit of progress on
- 12:16Speaker 1: the boarding house. To me, it looks visually like brighter, cleaner,
- 12:22Speaker 1: like something there is movement.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Happening mean here, and time has definitely passed in between episodes.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Thank good. Yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Yeah, So for me, we've touched on a lot of
- 12:34Speaker 1: my likes. But I do want to say that at
- 12:36Speaker 1: the beginning of this episode, something about Rebecca seems tougher
- 12:41Speaker 1: and a little bit more settled, and I think when
- 12:44Speaker 1: we see the way the rest of the episode plays out,
- 12:48Speaker 1: to me, it seems like she was starting to let
- 12:51Speaker 1: her guard down a little bit. She and Sarah are
- 12:53Speaker 1: having this nice moment riding their wagon which I got
- 12:56Speaker 1: to talk about to Peggy and Jenny's and she drops
- 13:01Speaker 1: off Sarah and it's very like she's trusting in this situation.
- 13:04Speaker 1: She's dropping off Sarah to spend the day with Jenny,
- 13:07Speaker 1: She's going to do some things. It feels like she
- 13:10Speaker 1: has settled in and then for her to turn around,
- 13:14Speaker 1: for Sarah to get lost, for them to need to
- 13:17Speaker 1: go on this truck to the woods to find her,
- 13:18Speaker 1: to me, it feels like, oh, she let her guard down,
- 13:20Speaker 1: and she was proven right that she needed to be
- 13:23Speaker 1: have her guard up this whole time. Yeah, It's like
- 13:25Speaker 1: that Julia Roberts movie Sleeping with the Enemy, where she
- 13:28Speaker 1: runs away right, and she's getting settled into her news space.
- 13:31Speaker 2: And she's in the towels.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Yes, it's a great movie, terrifying movie. Oh my gosh, Yes, exactly.
- 13:39Speaker 1: It's a classic storytelling with this woman is getting settled
- 13:42Speaker 1: and comfortable and then bam, you know, Yeah, I have
- 13:48Speaker 1: a couple more things.
- 13:49Speaker 2: One. These are not just likes, these are just this
- 13:51Speaker 2: is just commentary. Every week. Somehow we find a way
- 13:54Speaker 2: to relate this show back to Summerhouse. And for me, the.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Summerhouse moment is when Clayton is teaching Olivia to carve
- 14:02Speaker 1: wood and he uses the lion.
- 14:04Speaker 2: See it just takes a gentle touch. Is giving Carl
- 14:06Speaker 2: teaching Bailey how to golf.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Oh, although Carl was teaching Bailey how to golf from
- 14:12Speaker 1: ten feet away and just like shouting instructions at her
- 14:15Speaker 1: instead of like giving her the whole I think he
- 14:17Speaker 1: behind the back situations like he's.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Trying to respect her.
- 14:20Speaker 1: No, I agree, I agree, Groper not trying to do
- 14:23Speaker 1: the old Let me just show you.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah, gross, get out of here. We had said, why
- 14:29Speaker 2: why aren't the kids prospecting? Why aren't they down there?
- 14:31Speaker 1: I do think we answer our own question here because
- 14:36Speaker 1: Sam is like, oh, Dad says prospecting, it's just a
- 14:40Speaker 1: way to get rich quick, and I was like, better
- 14:42Speaker 1: than getting rich slow. I'm like, if these kids blame Doyle,
- 14:47Speaker 1: I don't at all. I don't blame Doyle at all.
- 14:49Speaker 1: And I also I am thinking, I know the kids
- 14:51Speaker 1: probably have chores and responsibilities, but they have playtime. And
- 14:56Speaker 1: I'm thinking, why can they not spend their playtime?
- 14:59Speaker 2: Like why are we fun? Why aren't they trying? Yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 2: playing in the river.
- 15:02Speaker 1: You and I both have been to k Notspberry Farm
- 15:04Speaker 1: and panned for gold because it's fun.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and you get your little you get your little
- 15:08Speaker 2: flakes in a jar. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe it's just the
- 15:13Speaker 2: entrepreneur and me.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I'm like, send the kids down there, no harm, no
- 15:16Speaker 1: foul anyway. Yeah, just following up on that discussion. And
- 15:21Speaker 1: that's a wrap on my likes.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Let's take a quick break and come right back with
- 15:25Speaker 2: our wishes. Alrighty, let's hear your wishes.
- 15:37Speaker 1: The whole kids Lost in the Woods plot. This is
- 15:41Speaker 1: where I'm talking not nothing burger of an episode.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I have a lot of problems with it.
- 15:46Speaker 1: First of all, it needed to feel more dangerous. I
- 15:49Speaker 1: know there's these wolves out there. I know I quoted it,
- 15:54Speaker 1: but hold.
- 15:55Speaker 2: On, hold on, Okay.
- 15:57Speaker 1: What would make it more would feel more dangerous, is
- 16:01Speaker 1: put the sketchy prospectors out in the woods. Mm. That's
- 16:05Speaker 1: really should be afraid of. That's what I that's the
- 16:08Speaker 1: that's the criminal element. I think they have already. The
- 16:12Speaker 1: guy who comes and tries to get into Hattie's say safe,
- 16:16Speaker 1: has a criminal element to him. He's he's a prospector.
- 16:20Speaker 1: He's out there trying to get rich too, right, So
- 16:23Speaker 1: make all the prospectors sort of sketch and that's where
- 16:27Speaker 1: the danger lies, not into some freaking lost smoke monster
- 16:31Speaker 1: out in the woods. Which did you see Like when
- 16:34Speaker 1: they they get rescued, there are rattling.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Yes.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I was like, is that a smoke monster from Lost?
- 16:41Speaker 1: I was like this, I rewound it. I'm like, they
- 16:44Speaker 1: do show the wolf earlier? Yes, I think they show
- 16:48Speaker 1: the wolf. They get a wolf for this show. B roll.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I'm sure I don't remember seeing a wolf. I thought
- 16:53Speaker 1: they showed us a wolf at one point. I'm pretty
- 16:56Speaker 1: sure they did wolves eat children. Well. Wolves are in
- 17:00Speaker 1: enormous and I think they are actually quite dangerous.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Foxes small, wolves, big and dangerous. Yes, Are they dressed
- 17:08Speaker 2: up like Grandma's anyway?
- 17:13Speaker 1: I thought the shaking of the trees was a little
- 17:15Speaker 1: little silly too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure, not bringing
- 17:19Speaker 1: the grit. Here's my other problem with this.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Are we on Tom's land? Isn't this Tom's land out here? Yeah?
- 17:27Speaker 2: They even say are we still on the moor ranch?
- 17:29Speaker 1: You would feel like he would be able to navigate
- 17:32Speaker 1: his land like the back of his hand.
- 17:34Speaker 2: He doesn't get lost. But they don't know where the
- 17:36Speaker 2: children are. That's what I'm saying.
- 17:38Speaker 1: He shouldn't know every nook and cranny. Look, I know
- 17:41Speaker 1: every nook and cranny in my backyard.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Okay, I hear you.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I agree, But my point is they are checking all
- 17:48Speaker 1: the nooks and crannies.
- 17:51Speaker 2: I just feels like he would know where they would be.
- 17:53Speaker 2: But how, I don't know. I don't know. Was this
- 17:57Speaker 2: like a big ploy, Like he's like, I don't know.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Lost for these kids with you and I get to
- 18:01Speaker 1: spend time with you, Rebecca, get to know all your deep,
- 18:04Speaker 1: dark secrets.
- 18:04Speaker 2: And I'm telling you it was a nothing burger of
- 18:07Speaker 2: an episode.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Well, I mean, the stakes are low, for sure, but
- 18:11Speaker 1: not when your kid is missing and it's after dark
- 18:13Speaker 1: and you're like lost in the woods.
- 18:16Speaker 2: I have more wishes, but let me hear yours well.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Last episode, one of our big plot points was Sarah
- 18:22Speaker 1: felt very much dismissed by Rebecca and that all seems
- 18:25Speaker 1: to be forgotten.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Sarah and Jenny your best friend.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Sarah's happy to be dropped off there to make her
- 18:29Speaker 1: pillows and go on her adventures.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Hay pillows, we've moved on. Well, they don't have batting.
- 18:35Speaker 2: There's no big mics down the street, big mics. I
- 18:39Speaker 2: had to google, like if Hay.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Was an actual huh material. The answer was yes, yeah,
- 18:48Speaker 1: we would.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Rather sleep on concrete. The borders. Sure are gonna love
- 18:53Speaker 2: the pillows. I was not meant for life on the
- 18:57Speaker 2: front here.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I'm just gonna walk into the river and let it
- 19:02Speaker 1: take me away. I just was meant to be born
- 19:07Speaker 1: with Wi Fi in my hand.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I am tired of the love triangle. I'm tired of
- 19:12Speaker 2: the love triangle, Olivia.
- 19:14Speaker 1: And it's the same thing every week, you know. Constable
- 19:18Speaker 1: is like, oh, your drawings have been accepted, and unfortunately
- 19:22Speaker 1: one of mine too, and she's like, I gotta go
- 19:24Speaker 1: tell Clayton.
- 19:25Speaker 2: He goes, oh, Yeah, it's I'm just tired of it,
- 19:30Speaker 2: but I did.
- 19:30Speaker 1: We didn't talk about it, but I did love Clayton
- 19:34Speaker 1: and Olivia having them.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I'm just gonna stay and watch. I can't stand that.
- 19:41Speaker 1: No, No, it's she's giving him the same puppy dog
- 19:45Speaker 1: eye she was doing to Alexander last week.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Tell me a story. I'm mistake? What am I right?
- 19:52Speaker 1: She was the one that said I'm gonna stay and
- 19:53Speaker 1: watch while you're.
- 19:58Speaker 2: People hate us, right? Sorry? All right? And what other
- 20:03Speaker 2: other wishes.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Hattie's safe storyline was sort of relatable as somebody who
- 20:08Speaker 1: can't remember the code that eighteend sends me.
- 20:12Speaker 2: I need to plug it into something to get access.
- 20:15Speaker 2: So I get that that.
- 20:17Speaker 1: She couldn't remember the Yeah, she's having trouble adapting with
- 20:21Speaker 1: the time ryven a pause in the Frontier.
- 20:24Speaker 2: It just was so dumb too, But.
- 20:27Speaker 1: It did make me wonder like, is this foreshadow shadowing
- 20:30Speaker 1: at all? And when calls the heart, does the trading
- 20:32Speaker 1: post become a bank at some point? Because she does
- 20:34Speaker 1: make reference to like, oh, my husband would have said,
- 20:37Speaker 1: I don't.
- 20:37Speaker 2: You know, I don't know, and they have a safe
- 20:40Speaker 2: like out in the middle. It's in my digits, that's what. Okay,
- 20:43Speaker 2: are they gonna leave it there? I don't know. Rebecca
- 20:47Speaker 2: has no chill when the constable is around.
- 20:49Speaker 1: If this woman is like feels like she's on the run,
- 20:52Speaker 1: like she needs to dial it back when he's she's
- 20:54Speaker 1: so like, I'm scared of the law.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, be a criminal. I know she's not a criminal, but.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Like, well, any chill alt is on her side, so
- 21:06Speaker 1: you almost feel.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Like she she could let him in, like she.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Can be like, I'm getting these threatening letters from my
- 21:14Speaker 1: husband's this is my child. They have no right to him.
- 21:17Speaker 1: They're coming for me picked me. Yes, but she probably doesn't.
- 21:21Speaker 1: You know, money can maybe buy people, and she's worried
- 21:24Speaker 1: that he's been influenced by the wrong people.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Just be chill, don't be like uncool. Uncool that's the word.
- 21:30Speaker 2: That's the line. God, Bravo has infiltrated my brain forever.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Are you ready for Did you see that? Yeah, let's
- 21:39Speaker 2: talk about the wagon.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Okay, tell me you noticed in the opening scene, Rebecca
- 21:45Speaker 1: and Sarah are bumping along in their wagon and we.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Never see the horse. We see in the next scene as.
- 21:50Speaker 1: They whoa whoa up up to the ranch.
- 21:55Speaker 2: But as they're bumping along, we never see the horse.
- 21:57Speaker 2: There's no horse.
- 21:58Speaker 1: It's not the first time I hadn't noticed, but I
- 22:01Speaker 1: believe it. And I was like, oh, look at that
- 22:03Speaker 1: tight framing there, green screen. Maybe I don't know, but
- 22:07Speaker 1: also I just just imagine some poor pa living it
- 22:12Speaker 1: on this back. Or maybe they have some machine that
- 22:15Speaker 1: like kind of bumps the wagon up and along like
- 22:17Speaker 1: a like a vehicle. Maybe I gotta tell you, I look,
- 22:20Speaker 1: he felt like motion sick watching that scene.
- 22:22Speaker 2: It's real bumpy. Yeah, I'm like, what is happening. There's
- 22:25Speaker 2: no like rut in the road that you can drive through,
- 22:27Speaker 2: since you've driven this path a million times, it's that bumpy.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Hook that wagon up to an ATV that would be
- 22:35Speaker 1: too fast, but something hook it up to an electric
- 22:39Speaker 1: bike and have the pa ride electric bike so it
- 22:42Speaker 1: looks more realistic.
- 22:44Speaker 2: It looked green screen to me. It may have. I
- 22:47Speaker 2: just noticed that that there's no horse, but it was
- 22:49Speaker 2: making me nauseous. It was quite bumpy. I'm so glad
- 22:53Speaker 2: you noticed it.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I thought the voice in the letter that was sent
- 22:56Speaker 1: to Rebecca, the voiceover it sounded like Laura Lenny to me,
- 23:00Speaker 1: Laura Lenny yeah, really, I'm.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Sure it's not. It just had a Laura Lenny quality.
- 23:05Speaker 2: I wonder who it was me too, some pa again,
- 23:08Speaker 2: did you hear the line?
- 23:09Speaker 1: Rebecca says he's beautiful and Tom says and feisty.
- 23:12Speaker 2: But the good ones are worth the time when they're
- 23:15Speaker 2: talking about a horse or himself, her her, he's talking
- 23:20Speaker 2: about her. Oh, I thought he was talking about himself.
- 23:24Speaker 1: He's talking about well, maybe I thought he was talking
- 23:26Speaker 1: about her. She's feisty. It's feisty too, not feisty enough
- 23:31Speaker 1: in my opinion. But okay, wait a minute, we need
- 23:35Speaker 1: to talk about the safe.
- 23:38Speaker 2: All I have to say is it's in the middle
- 23:39Speaker 2: of the floor and it makes no sense.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Someone's gonna stub their toe on that every single damn
- 23:42Speaker 1: day and it's gonna be me.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Why Why is it out in the middle of the
- 23:46Speaker 2: freaking trading post store? Makes no sense.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I did really enjoy Patti's little pouch, that her little
- 23:54Speaker 1: money pouch. M I'm having a garage sell in a
- 23:57Speaker 1: couple of weeks. I thought, how cute would I be
- 23:59Speaker 1: with my little pouch?
- 24:00Speaker 2: Should I get that wrap around Shawl situation too?
- 24:04Speaker 1: I kind of feel like you have had a pouch
- 24:06Speaker 1: like that for a garage sale situation. No, I like
- 24:09Speaker 1: wearing an apron. Oh I'm an apron kind of girl.
- 24:13Speaker 1: You just need like a like a server's pouch like
- 24:16Speaker 1: a waitress wears.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Yeah, took their I like that their pen and their
- 24:21Speaker 2: their notepad. Yeah, tuck your money in there.
- 24:24Speaker 1: You need like a change belt like they have it
- 24:26Speaker 1: in the drive throughs. Cannot your change Yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Speaking of my garage cell, I was like, should I
- 24:33Speaker 2: accept venmo? Yeah? Yeah, I should, right, Huh, you should
- 24:37Speaker 2: put up a QR code, like I don't want to
- 24:38Speaker 2: deal with your dollars.
- 24:40Speaker 1: I mean you could take cash because people come with
- 24:42Speaker 1: cash to a gashirurse.
- 24:43Speaker 2: But are you allowed to accept memo at your community
- 24:45Speaker 2: grauage stair? It's my own cell. It's we're part of
- 24:50Speaker 2: a community garage sale. But do you not have to go? No,
- 24:55Speaker 2: it's in front of my house.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Oh. When our community does that, they sell you a
- 24:58Speaker 1: space and you have to go all that idea, it's
- 25:01Speaker 1: it's nice for the shopper, kind of annoying if you
- 25:03Speaker 1: have like big stuff to haul over there, or a
- 25:05Speaker 1: lot of stuff. We've only done it one time for
- 25:08Speaker 1: that reason. Yes, you are not allowed to have it
- 25:10Speaker 1: in front of your house, in your city, in our neighborhood.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Hoay baby, Oh.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Interesting, I have two more to just see that Hattie
- 25:22Speaker 1: has a second hole piercne uppere, which interesting a lot
- 25:26Speaker 1: of women do in twenty twenty six, I did google it.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I was like, how common were ear pure scenes during
- 25:33Speaker 1: this time? It said it was common, but you would
- 25:35Speaker 1: wear like a Victorian style, like drop down earring, not
- 25:39Speaker 1: a stud and she only has one stud in one ear.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Maybe it's new and she can't take it out. Maybe yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 2: And then my last did you see that?
- 25:52Speaker 1: Is when the kids are trying to start a fire,
- 25:55Speaker 1: and was I the only one yelling at the screen
- 25:57Speaker 1: like they do on Survivor, like blow on the fuck?
- 26:02Speaker 2: They just let it like go out? Yeah, they would
- 26:06Speaker 2: have lost the fire building challenge.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Yeah, they needed to blow some oxygen. I don't I
- 26:11Speaker 1: don't know what it is. I don't know how to
- 26:12Speaker 1: make fire. But on Survivor, on and then it builds, right, kids, Sarah, sarahally.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Drop the ball on that one. That's all I have
- 26:23Speaker 2: me too? How many episodes are left?
- 26:26Speaker 1: I am dying to know the numbers because when they
- 26:29Speaker 1: promote the showy They say, like Hallmark Plus's hit show.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Oh they do? Is it a hit? I don't know.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I would love to know. Eight three more, three more,
- 26:41Speaker 2: three more.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Here's my prediction is what's gonna happen in episode eight?
- 26:45Speaker 1: Somebody from Rebecca's husband's family is gonna show up. Oh,
- 26:50Speaker 1: We're gonna leave on a cliffhanger, don't you think? Yeah,
- 26:52Speaker 1: that sounds that sounds plausible, and we might get like
- 26:55Speaker 1: a reveal of the boarding house.
- 26:56Speaker 2: I think I saw that in like a this season on. Oh,
- 27:00Speaker 2: that would be nice.
- 27:01Speaker 1: That's a wrap on our discussion of Hope Valley eighteen
- 27:03Speaker 1: seventy four, episode five. We'll be back next time with
- 27:07Speaker 1: more Hallmark reviews. Goodbye bye. All right friends, before we go,
- 27:23Speaker 1: just a quick heads up. You're about to hear some ads.

- 27:30Speaker 1: So do with that info what you will, Grab a snack,
- 27:33Speaker 1: hit the skip button, or maybe just maybe listen in
- 27:36Speaker 1: and discover your new favorite product.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Bye
