- 0:48The Panther beat the Hurricanes 5 to 3 in Game 5 to win the
- 0:54series and advance to their third consecutive Stanley Cup
- 0:58finals. The Panthers were down to OH 208
- 1:02ladies and gentlemen after the first period before scoring 5
- 1:06unanswered goals, including the game winner by Carter Verhegi
- 1:11with 739 remaining in the third period.
- 1:13The Panthers have had 19 different players score a goal
- 1:18this postseason, most in NHL history.
- 1:21This is the sixth straight year a team from Florida has won the
- 1:26Eastern Conference, with the Lightning making 3 Cups in a row
- 1:30from 20 to 20 two and the Panthers making it for the last
- 1:34three years in a row. The Panthers are the ninth team
- 1:38in NHL history to make 3 consecutive Stanley Cup Finals
- 1:42appearance in a row. The Panthers are betting
- 1:45favorites at -128 if the they were to play the Stars, but the
- 1:51Oilers are slight favorites at a - 1 O 4 over the Panthers.
- 1:57If that match up happens, the Oilers will advance to the
- 2:00Stanley Cup Finals if they beat the Stars in Game 5 tonight,
- 2:05which they probably will, and if they don't, it will be Game 6.
- 2:08The Oilers are playing unbelievable hockey.
- 2:12And by the way. Up 3 Nothing on us.
- 2:14Yeah, I mean by the way nobody would have thought that.
- 2:17I mean Dallas has been the best all around team in the Western
- 2:20Conference really all season long.
- 2:22And the Oilers problem, it's been their real problem over the
- 2:27last, I would say 10 years was their goaltending.
- 2:30They have not had good goaltending.
- 2:32And Skinner, I don't know what's going on with Skinner, but he's
- 2:35finally figuring things out. And if he can do this, if they
- 2:38can get out of this series and and go into that Panther series
- 2:41and even plays half as well as he's done in this series, I
- 2:45think they win the Stanley Cup. Connor McDavid is the best
- 2:48player in the world. And I don't I don't think you
- 2:50can argue that Dry Sidle is the second best player in the world.
- 2:54They have one of the best offensive defensive players in
- 2:57all of hockey as well. And they're getting goaltending
- 3:01and by the way, the best young coach in the NHL.
- 3:03I'm not surprised that they're moving.
- 3:06They're going to move on. The Rangers probably shaking
- 3:08their head because they could have hired Noblock and maybe
- 3:11this is the Rangers going back-to-back finals.
- 3:15Edmonton. This is the second time.
- 3:17If they win last year, where were they?
- 3:20They were in the finals, weren't they?
- 3:22And now they're going to get a chance to play the Florida
- 3:24Panthers once again and redeem themselves.
- 3:28I and it was really because Skinner couldn't stop a lick
- 3:30against the Florida Panthers in that series.
- 3:32But I, I think the Oilers are, are special.
- 3:35Connor McDavid, he's been really screaming for a championship, at
- 3:40least winning his first. He's always going to be
- 3:43considered one of the greatest players to not win a
- 3:46championship if he doesn't do it.
- 3:48I mean, you look at Sidney Crosby, Canadian player,
- 3:50everybody thought he was the next Wayne Gretzky.
- 3:52It took him a while, but once he won his first one, he won his
- 3:55second one. And then you look at Sidney
- 3:57Crosby. I don't know if you can compare
- 3:59him to Mario Lemieux or Wayne Gretzky, but he's one of the
- 4:03more electrifying Canadian players we've seen in the last
- 4:06decade. And now you bring in a guy like
- 4:08Connor McDavid, who a lot of people thought, not only with
- 4:12the speed, the size, the ability that this guy has, the
- 4:15electrifying ability, that this guy stick handling, defensive
- 4:20prowess, hitting. I mean, this guy is one of the
- 4:23most all around players we've seen come to the NHL in such a
- 4:28long, long time and could go down as one of the greatest.
- 4:31But he needs to win a championship.
- 4:32He needs to win a chip to be considered.
- 4:34Edmonton hasn't won a championship in over 30
- 4:38something years, maybe even more than that.
- 4:41A 40 something. Years.
- 4:42Yeah, so it's been a long, long time since Edmonton's won.
- 4:46The last time they won was with Paul Coffey, Mark Messier, Adam
- 4:50Graves, those type of teams. But Wayne Gretzky, they haven't
- 4:54won in a very, very long time. I, I will say this, if they make
- 5:00the Stanley Cup finals, the only team that can beat Florida, the
- 5:03way Connie McDavid is playing is, is the is the oil.
- 5:06I don't think Dallas could beat them.
- 5:08And even if Dallas comes back in the series and surprises and
- 5:10shocks the world, they're going to beat them.
- 5:12As far as the Panthers are concerned, they're the best all
- 5:16around team. After they made that Marshan
- 5:19trade when they brought Marshan in, when when Chuck got hurt and
- 5:23they worked, they worked this contract thing in the salary cap
- 5:28thing, like the Lightning has done year in and year out for
- 5:31the for the years that they were champions.
- 5:33You knew the Florida Panthers were one of the favorites are
- 5:37going to the finals and possibly winning it again.
- 5:39And with Bob Rodsky playing the way he has every single playoff
- 5:43run and and the ability that they have defensively.
- 5:46I I just think all around the Florida Panthers are the most
- 5:51talented team in hockey. They've been that.
- 5:53And, and I've, I'll say this again, who would have thought
- 5:56that the two best franchises in, in the last 10 years would come
- 6:01from Florida? Just think about it.
- 6:03The two best franchises that have won and been consistent
- 6:07were from Tampa Bay area and the Florida area.
- 6:11It's an amazing story. I'm, I'm so excited.
- 6:14And it's great for Florida because it brings in more, more
- 6:17hockey fans to come and watch hockey.
- 6:19And it, it drives, it drives jersey sales.
- 6:22It drives all the different sales in and and sponsorships
- 6:25that Florida has gained ever since that Florida has been the
- 6:29the mark of where you want to play when it comes to the NHL.
- 6:32Congratulations to the Florida Panthers, very well deserved.
- 6:36And Matthew Kachuk, who's one of the meanest and biggest, you
- 6:40know, supporters of, I guess 2 dimensional big mouth hockey has
- 6:46really been the standstill for United States hockey.
- 6:49And it's been the spokesman of United States hockey over the
- 6:52last two years. So I, I like Matthew Kuchuk just
- 6:55because he speaks highly of you, US Hockey, USA Hockey and and
- 7:00Matthew Kuchuk and the Kuchuk brothers have been the present
- 7:03thought of what you want a USA, USA Hockey player to be over the
- 7:09last couple of years. So it's it's a great story and
- 7:12hopefully we can see Florida win back-to-back championships.
- 7:15Yeah, Matthew Kachuk is another guy that I think it really has
- 7:17been a culture changer when it comes to that team because that
- 7:19team was talented for a while. They were lacking some
- 7:21goaltending, but they had a lot of talent on their rostingness.
- 7:25But yeah, they didn't have that toughness.
- 7:26I remember the first time we had our friend Alan Poopar on the
- 7:30show. You and him got into a heated
- 7:31argument about that trade with. The I was wrong about that by
- 7:34the way. I was thinking the same way as
- 7:35you because I also I also liked the defenseman they traded to
- 7:38him drunk a blank on his name offhand Wigger McKenzie Wigger
- 7:43and Hoober dough and like what are they doing?
- 7:45But could Chuck it fits that style of hockey that they wanted
- 7:48to create over there. They brought in Sam Bennett,
- 7:50they Sam Reinhart. Those are all these guys that
- 7:52really changed their style of game to add to what Florida was
- 7:55doing and they built a model that I really don't think any
- 7:58team have been able to duplicate because of the versatility that
- 8:01they have. They have centers that could
- 8:02play wing. They have bigger wingers that
- 8:04could transition in the face off circle.
- 8:05They can do so many different things now.
- 8:07On paper they're not overly the deepest defense, but they have
- 8:09defenseman that contribute. Nico Mikola playing very well
- 8:12after he was let go by the Rangers.
- 8:14This You were talking about Lister Ryan too?
- 8:16But I don't I don't think you guys realize how important Brad
- 8:19Marshawn, what has been since they made that move.
- 8:22He adds another style of toughness to this team.
- 8:25He gives you a different look on another line where they can kind
- 8:29of switch it around and give you that that toughness could Chuck
- 8:32is 1 player. Now you have another guy that's
- 8:34a a pain in the ass like a flea. When he's out there, he's going
- 8:38to if you turn your back, he's going to chop your legs.
- 8:41If you go to the right, he's going to hit you.
- 8:42He's going to hit you on the left.
- 8:44He is one of those guys that he just, he's like a, he's like a
- 8:47Nat that doesn't go away. And that's just like Matthew
- 8:50could Chuck and you add that kind of dimension to the, your
- 8:53team and now you have a healthy Matthew could Chuck and a
- 8:56healthy team. I mean, when you look at the
- 8:59paper, when you look at the Oilers or even Dallas, how do
- 9:03you match up against a team where they have 4 lines that and
- 9:06their fourth line could be another team's second best line.
- 9:10That's how good it is. And it, it's scary.
- 9:12And by the way, the Florida Panthers are going to be this
- 9:15good next year, too. And they've got a great farm
- 9:18system, one of the best in the NHL, one of the top five farm
- 9:21systems in all of hockey. And they've been able to keep a
- 9:24lot of their players too, when everyone thought Sam Bennett was
- 9:26going to go seek more money and free agency.
- 9:28And they kept, they kept Ekblad, they paid a lot of their other
- 9:31key pieces. And that was overcoming the
- 9:33Babrovsky contract for a while. Looks terrible on paper because
- 9:37it was $10 million contracts. You kept getting hurt.
- 9:40They they had the kid night. That was a first round pick that
- 9:42they were supposed to develop. Ram Jam.
- 9:44He manipulated it to perfection to get these players of good
- 9:47value and now they want to buy in, They want these key players
- 9:50to stay there. And Marsha is another one that I
- 9:51think can be like that too. Even though he's lost a little
- 9:53bit of speed getting older, he's still very, very tough on the
- 9:57defensive side of the puck for a physical winger.
- 9:59And it allows somebody like Anton Lundell, somebody like
- 10:01Carter Verhegy. To play a game.
- 10:04That they can do so they have a lot of versatility options and
- 10:06it'll be interesting to see how Edmonton tries to counter that
- 10:09kind of thing now. They've had good depth scoring
- 10:10in the last two years in the playoffs.
- 10:11That's why a big reason they finally got to the Cup after
- 10:14they they kept choking in the playoffs because they kept
- 10:16relying on the same two guys all the time.
- 10:18Now they it'll be interesting to see now Zach Hyman is hurt.
- 10:20Now can clean themselves. He was one of their key
- 10:23contributors. Will they be able to make up
- 10:25that production with with Nugent, Hopkins and other guys
- 10:27like that? That's going to be a big key.
- 10:28The two and three lines against Florida because Florida doesn't
- 10:31have to play the same first line or the same second line all the
- 10:34time. They can rotate all these
- 10:35different guys and that's what Edmondson and Chris Nablock will
- 10:38have to adjust to. That being said, it's hard to
- 10:39repeat and it's hard, but sometimes you see it in
- 10:41back-to-back matchups. Edmonton playing the same twice
- 10:45in a row, We saw it with the Eagles and Chiefs.
- 10:47The Chiefs won the first time, the Eagles won the second time.
- 10:49The NBA, when the class and Warriors faced off sometimes,
- 10:51that usually goes in Edmonton's flavor, but they're going to do
- 10:53a lot of different things if they want to beat Florida this
- 10:55time. You said Marshan before and they
- 10:59don't get Marshan if Chuck doesn't get injured and they
- 11:02don't put him on that long term IL or IR or whatever it's
- 11:06called. The cap circumvention.
- 11:08To go around the cap and be able to add a player of his caliber
- 11:13to the roster and then when the playoffs surround, cap doesn't
- 11:15matter and everybody can play, I guess is the way that this it
- 11:20works right now in the NHL. I don't know why that's how it
- 11:24works. The Lightning were the first to
- 11:26go, circumvented with Kucherov and they won the the Cup and it
- 11:29looks like the for the Panthers are going to do this.
- 11:32When, when the when the new CBA comes out, which I think is in
- 11:35another two years, you're going to see that change.
- 11:37There's no way the NHL is going to allow this.
- 11:39This is. Such a stack team though dude
- 11:42like what a stacked roster you know?
- 11:44Not to mention Kachuk is probably, you know, the best,
- 11:47maybe the for the modern day like the best power.
- 11:50He's not even their best player. He really?
- 11:52Is well, I'm just saying like as a power forward, you know, like
- 11:54the the way that's you would his father is.
- 11:57Exactly what his father was. His father.
- 11:59But you know, obviously not exactly the same.
- 12:01The game is different back then, but what a player.
- 12:04My God, every time the puck goes down into the corner, you know
- 12:07he's getting out of the pile with it or he's making the right
- 12:10pass out of the pile. Or he's beating your head into
- 12:12the glass. That's what he's going to do.
- 12:14Because yeah, he'll find a way to, but he's not just going to
- 12:18beat your beat you like that. He's going to then play the puck
- 12:21perfectly, which is crazy that he's able to do that and he's
- 12:24playing at such a high level. Got to give Sebastian Aho a
- 12:27shout out on the Hurricanes. That guy, two goals in the game
- 12:31the other day, every time the Rangers play them, he's the guy.
- 12:34He's never going to win with them.
- 12:36He's never going to. Win with them.
- 12:37You're probably right, but that guy is if he gets, if he's going
- 12:41to be up for someone to trade for it, like throw everything at
- 12:45him. I think he's the most underrated
- 12:46guy in the league. He's a good player.
- 12:48Here's the problem. Carolina gave Rob Brindamore an
- 12:51extension in the offseason last year, and Rob Brindamore has not
- 12:55taken at home since he's taken over for that team.
- 12:58He's never taken a championship home and, and, and it's a it's a
- 13:01problem. I it's didn't.
- 13:03He won, He won one. Right.
- 13:05Rob Brandenmore won as a player. Never.
- 13:06That's what I'm saying. But he's never won as a coach.
- 13:09And Carolina's been to the finals, but they can never go
- 13:11over the hump. And here's another thing that
- 13:13Carolina Hurricanes need to figure out their goaltending
- 13:16problem again, you're going to go into an offseason where they
- 13:19may be the Islanders. They have a new owner.
- 13:22I mean, they have not a new owner.
- 13:23They have a new GMA, new VP, and they're going to have a new
- 13:26president. Maybe you reach out to them.
- 13:29They got Volomo off over there and maybe you're you're trying
- 13:32to make a move and maybe trade away another, a chip or
- 13:35something, a defensive player, you know, a decent player over
- 13:38there to get yourself a goaltender.
- 13:40That's going to get you over the hump.
- 13:41You got a tremendous amount of defense over there.
- 13:44Maybe you're willing to trade one of your better defenders.
- 13:46They get a a great goalie. Goalies don't grow on trees.
- 13:49The Islanders have two of them. They're not training Sorokin.
- 13:51So if you can get a chance to get him well, then you're in a
- 13:54good position. Well, Florida's defense isn't
- 13:57shaky either. My goodness, Ekblad Forsling and
- 14:01Seth Jones, what a what a threesome like those guys would
- 14:05be. That's a pretty funny way to say
- 14:07that. I'm sure that's going to be a
- 14:08drop now, but I'll tell you, they're all #1 defenseman on a
- 14:12different team and. That was one of those dealt with
- 14:14Seth Jones, so. They would be all #1 defenseman.
- 14:19Oh my goodness, they are so good throughout the lineup.
- 14:23Reinhart and Bennett Martian, throw him in.
- 14:27Why not? You know you, you love pretty
- 14:28strong down, don't you? Don't you love fair?
- 14:30She's always calm and collector, Reinhard.
- 14:34And it's the opposite of the MSG people.
- 14:36They love screaming. Reinhart, like, give me and stop
- 14:39with the Rangers. The Rangers are not doing
- 14:41anything in the offseason. They have no money because they
- 14:43overpaid their goaltender. And I know Ranger fans say, oh,
- 14:46maybe we reach out to Carolina and we'll trade this guy and
- 14:49that guy and get that guy. It's not going to happen.
- 14:51Ranger fans, stop it. Chris Jury, as long as he's
- 14:53running that team and that organization, they're going to
- 14:56fail, fail, fail. Why?
- 14:57Because they brought Sullivan over there, O'Sullivan over
- 15:00there, whatever his freaking name is.
- 15:02Mike Sullivan, he's busy this offseason.
- 15:03He's got. What is he going to do?
- 15:05What is he going to do? He's going to blow it up.
- 15:09Good luck. He's gonna.
- 15:10I think he's gonna blow it up With what kind of money?
- 15:13He's gonna get rid of. It he has no trade clauses for
- 15:16Zibitejad so good luck on that. Cried already.
- 15:20Cried already says he only wants to go to now.
- 15:22I think it was 8 different teams.
- 15:24So good luck on trying to get rid of that contract that they
- 15:26just signed what, two years ago? He still has about three more
- 15:29years on that contract. They have Panarin.
- 15:32I know Ranger fans love him but the guy doesn't show up in the
- 15:35big games in the playoffs. He has a no trade clause.
- 15:37Good luck on trying to get rid of his 11,000,000 they have.
- 15:40Are you kidding? Every people would line up to
- 15:42take? Really.
- 15:43So Panarin. 'S one of the top.
- 15:44You have to. Pay him too when he doesn't show
- 15:46up in the playoffs. Look, he pays it makes a lot of
- 15:49money, but he's still an elite, elite offensive player.
- 15:52I don't know if I if I'm in. The down here he was elite.
- 15:55I, I take a step back if I were the Rangers and ride or die this
- 15:59coming year with the, the coach and see what you have, That's
- 16:03what I would. And I bring up your young
- 16:04players. Let Mike Sullivan coach the
- 16:07young players. He's good at that.
- 16:09They've got 2, you know, trip chips, 2 offensive chips they
- 16:13have in their farm system. Why don't you see what you can
- 16:15get out of them and maybe one of them you can move and get
- 16:19yourself A star player because the Rangers, they really don't
- 16:22have what you think they have. But I'll tell you who does have
- 16:25a lot. That's a Florida Panthers.
- 16:26The Florida Panthers in the offseason, they could lose Brad
- 16:30Marshall, which they probably will because they can't pay him.
- 16:33They're going to. They might lose another one or
- 16:34two players. It doesn't really matter because
- 16:36they have a top five farm system.
- 16:38They've got a tremendous amount of offensive players.
- 16:41They have two, yes, two of the top 20 prospects in all of the
- 16:45NHL that are going to be called up in the next couple of years.
- 16:48They don't really have anything to worry about.
- 16:50Could Chuck's under contract? They have enough and by
- 16:53Brodsky's the only one that you have to worry about because
- 16:55Barbotsky is 38 years old. How many years do you think you
- 16:59have left with him? Do you do you trade for he?
- 17:02That's another team that has a lot to to trade away.
- 17:05Maybe you reach out to the Islanders and get go after the
- 17:08Islanders have a trade ship. And if you're an Islander fan,
- 17:10you should be excited. I I think you have Darsh who
- 17:13sees the team for what it is. He got some young goaltenders
- 17:17that haven't be called up because you have a llama off.
- 17:19And by the way, Lou Lamarello gives him a three-year
- 17:21extension, which made no sense. It's a affordable contract.
- 17:25Make the move, trade him and get something good back for him.
- 17:29Goaltender don't Goaltenders do not grow on trees, and if you're
- 17:33an Islander fan, that's what you would want if you expect to be a
- 17:37contender in the next three years, The.
- 17:39Panthers have a bunch of cycling goal tenders across the league
- 17:41too. They easily get one of them
- 17:43back, Alex Lyons. That's the rimer.
- 17:46They're all floating around somewhere.
- 17:49I love the Rangers. I can't help it.
- 17:50I figured nothing that's going to change that and I think of
- 17:53hockey through how it impacts my Ranger fandom.
- 17:57It's just how it is. I can't help it.
- 17:59But I know those teams kill the Rangers.
- 18:01I know Aho. If I had a chance to trade for
- 18:03him, I would go get that guy. That guy kills the Rangers.
- 18:06He's like the modern day guy. I'm most afraid of that.
- 18:09Nobody's like most people if you don't really follow.
- 18:12You know how you get Aho? You trade Panarin.
- 18:15That's what you're going to have to do.
- 18:16That's what you're gonna have to do.
- 18:18Or Panera. Wanna play there?
- 18:20Though there's obviously money discrepancy there that would
- 18:23have to be figured out, but I don't know exactly what you do.
- 18:26The Rangers need defense in the worst way.
- 18:30I mean, it's just Starkin's great, but you got to at least
- 18:33have some kind of semblance of a system.
- 18:35And you know that Sullivan's going to build it the right way.
- 18:38It's just going to take a little bit.
- 18:40And I wonder if Drury and Sullivan get on the same page
- 18:44and try to do this rebuild together or Drury's just going
- 18:46to do what it seemed like he did this season is just go rogue,
- 18:50piss off the entire locker room and, you know, alien.
- 18:53How do we get into the Rangers when we're talking about the
- 18:56Western and Eastern Conference finals?
- 18:58Who cares about the Rangers you have?
- 19:00Chris Drury, Good luck. There's Rangers.
- 19:02There's a reason. There's a reason because none of
- 19:04this would have mattered if they didn't, if they just promoted
- 19:08Nah Block to be their head coach.
- 19:10And look at what he's doing now. You're absolutely right.
- 19:12You said at the beginning. Of the best young coach in the
- 19:13NHL and he's going to be the the youngest coach to win a Stanley
- 19:17Cup, I think. How old is Nah Block?
- 19:18I think he's like 3030. 9 I want to say.
- 19:21He might be. Laviolette was the youngest
- 19:24coach, I think, to win. I'm not sure.
- 19:25I bet he can throw it better the first base than Chuck Noblock
- 19:28too. That guy could do.
- 19:29It who was the youngest, That's a good.
- 19:31Question. He's a little older, 46.
- 19:32He's 46. Who's the youngest coach to win
- 19:34a Stanley Cup? That's what I want to know.
- 19:36The youngest coach to win a Stanley Cup.
- 19:38That that's an interesting question.
- 19:40I didn't think Noblock was 40. 6 The youngest one was 1996 with
- 19:44the Colorado Avalanche. Mark Crawford, 33 years old.
- 19:47I remember Mark Crawford and he he coached after Colorado a
- 19:50couple of teams and and failed. He had the ugliest hair by the
- 19:53way, he always wear the slick hair back.
- 19:56He looked like Italian and Italian, but he he had that Gray
- 19:58hair on the side like he he didn't dye the side of his head.
- 20:02So he would have like black, straight slicked hair and then
- 20:06he had Gray like complete Gray hair on the side.
- 20:08It didn't make any sense. But Mark, I remember Mark
- 20:10Crawford so but again, I I think that if you're.
- 20:16If you're a Oiler fan, you want to see the Oilers get back there
- 20:19and maybe get redemption against the Florida Panthers.
- 20:21And why not? I mean, the only, the only thing
- 20:25I think Florida has had problems with over the last couple of
- 20:28years is against power forwards, guys like Connor McDavid, guys
- 20:33that cause complete mismatches. And their defense has been good.
- 20:36Florida's defense has been good. And by the way, I, I, if Skinner
- 20:40could do what he's doing against the Dallas Stars, there is no
- 20:44way as good as Florida is, you know, Connor McDavid and Dry
- 20:48Sidle are going to get their slicks and if they get their
- 20:49slicks, they're going to put goals in the net as good as Bob
- 20:53Rodski is. So it's, it'll be a great series
- 20:57no matter what happens. Dallas and Florida Oilers and
- 21:00Florida will be a good much better than it was last year
- 21:03because Florida absolutely demolished Edmonton.
- 21:06That will not happen this year, not with Knobloch with his
- 21:09second year, his second year at the helm as the head coach of
- 21:14the Edmonton Oilers and actually knows his P's and Q.
- 21:17So he understands what to do, especially at times against the
- 21:22Florida Panthers where you can have to or you're going to need
- 21:26to have to figure out their strengths to their weaknesses.
- 21:29And and Florida has been so fun, so fun to watch throughout the
- 21:32playoffs. So I I and how they have no
- 21:34weaknesses. That's the problem.
- 21:36Certainly got his work cut out for him, you know, yes, he's one
- 21:39of the best. That's very it's going to be a
- 21:40great cup. I look, it's still not over.
- 21:43The stars can have a miraculous. Smack him baby, smack him if he
- 21:47trims or not. Down and they're down.
- 21:49Two goals right now, but hey, it's dildos like the Oilers.
- 21:54My dog wants your Pussycat. Quite, quite a match up boys and
- 21:58I'm sure we'll have plenty of time talking about.
- 22:00It pound me. It's old. # me out, like
- 22:03somebody's got to pound them out.
- 22:04Speed. You're going to pound them out,
- 22:05Not me. Somebody's got to watch Nathan
- 22:08as Nathan bends over and cracks a smile.
- 22:11If he could pound out whatever hot lady he sees.
- 22:13By the way, this is the first time I can honestly say that the
- 22:16Knicks had an 11 point lead. I mean, I know mine is a little
- 22:19slower than everybody else's because we're on a streamer, but
- 22:23this is the first time I actually seen the Knicks have a
- 22:2510. They already blew it.
- 22:27What? What's the score right now?
- 22:28They they they already gave it, gave up four points to that
- 22:31lead. So what's what's the score?
- 22:33Four points, they're up. 7 they're up 7UP.
- 22:36Wrong pass Jalen. Ladies and gentlemen are douche
- 22:40of the day. The douche of the day.
- 22:43You log, not a log. I don't have a log but.
- 22:54All right, ladies and gentlemen, and I've been putting this team
- 22:57in this organization. Really, I've been throwing them
- 23:00out there for the last couple of weeks.
- 23:02My douche of the day goes to the Pittsburgh Steelers again.
- 23:07They're in the tabloids again. The Miami Dolphin Dolphins have
- 23:11engaged in trade discussions with the Pittsburgh Steelers
- 23:15involving tight end Janu Smith. Smith expressed interest to the
- 23:20Dolphins in reworking A2 year deal who who wanted to sign him
- 23:25last offseason, which would pay him $4.8 million in 2025,
- 23:31sources say. And Scheffner says Miss Smith
- 23:34was not present in at the Miami's voluntary OTA practices
- 23:39this past week. Well, here's here's why I think
- 23:42it's such a douche of the day. How and why would you trade for
- 23:47a guy like Jonnu Smith when you don't even have a quarterback?
- 23:50Why? I mean, you don't even have
- 23:52Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers has not even
- 23:55signed a contract. He has not even given you
- 23:57straight answers that he's coming back.
- 24:00The thought is he is going to play this year.
- 24:02He hasn't showed up to voluntary OTAs.
- 24:05He has. He's probably not going to show
- 24:07up until the beginning of the real OTAs.
- 24:11And this has been an absolutely embarrassed embarrassment.
- 24:14This is New York Jet. Like, why would you put your
- 24:18organization, your head coach and his name on the line when
- 24:23you have seen Aaron Rodgers rune organizations over the last two
- 24:27years? It didn't help with the Green
- 24:28Bay Packers and it surely hasn't helped with the New York Jets.
- 24:32At the tail end of his his illustrious 2 years with the New
- 24:35York Jets, it's been an absolute joke.
- 24:38And now you're gonna make a trade to bring in Jonnu Smith
- 24:42when you don't even know who your quarterback is.
- 24:44You're bringing DK Metcalf when you don't even know who your
- 24:47quarterback is. None of it makes sense.
- 24:49And I don't want to hear that Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf are
- 24:53throwing the balls or actually playing catch over there in
- 24:57California. It's in an absolute
- 25:00embarrassment. If you know he's coming, just
- 25:03say you're coming. Stop beating around the Bush.
- 25:06It doesn't help your organization when your
- 25:09quarterback or lack of quarterback is Mason Rudolph and
- 25:14you're going to make a move for Jonnu Smith.
- 25:17So my douche of the day goes once again to the Pittsburgh
- 25:22Steelers. Oh, right.
- 25:24Ladies and gentlemen, we call this segment.
- 25:27Let's parlay. Parlay.
- 25:41Oh, I know you're upset, Reno. Johnny, there's a lot to be
- 25:45upset for you. I mean, your Baltimore Orioles
- 25:48are absolutely rubbish, crap, terrible garbage, as I
- 25:54predicted, by the way. So I they have no pitching, as
- 25:59we said, they they decided to part ways with Corbin Burns.
- 26:03Now, Corbin Burns was not 100% healthy all season last year,
- 26:07but losing a pitcher in your rotation that good, it
- 26:10definitely effects you. And they're not getting timely
- 26:13hitting from their superstar players.
- 26:15This has been a problem for the Orioles for for very long, long
- 26:19time. The the Orioles haven't been a
- 26:21dominant force since the Buck Showalter time with Machado and
- 26:26and obviously Davis when he was actually decent before he got
- 26:29his money, Adam Jones. So they've been like up and
- 26:32down. This is an organization that
- 26:34can't keep their players healthy.
- 26:36And when they when they are healthy, they're not producing.
- 26:39I don't know what's going on with them so.
- 26:41So, listeners, this is a pure, pure case of deflection.
- 26:46As a Knicks fan, I would also deflect.
- 26:49It's been a terrible series from Pretty Boy Cat.
- 26:53It's been a terrible series from every role player.
- 26:57They're going to lose in six. Give me the Pacers, we'll give
- 27:02you all one. You gave one your Game 5, we'll
- 27:04give you Game 5. But I would deflect 2 if I was a
- 27:07Knicks fan. Haven't been to the ship in 25.
- 27:10This is a guy, ladies and gentlemen.
- 27:13This is a guy, ladies and gentlemen, that doesn't watch
- 27:17basketball games and he makes. Bets give.
- 27:20Me a break what if we get out of here in.
- 27:25A serious in a serious I hear a lot of of people.
- 27:29I think I think a famous at arrow marks 34 on X this
- 27:35earlier. OK, you said something of the
- 27:38likes that the NBA must hate that it's going to be pace like
- 27:43Pacers versus Thunder. I don't think outside of the
- 27:46market. You can't argue the market that
- 27:49the Knicks bring. There's no question right.
- 27:52But outside of that, this roster makeup, I don't believe it's
- 27:58filled with those superstars you'd expect in a big market to
- 28:03like. You have to watch Cat versus
- 28:06Brunsley and Brunson. It's not that.
- 28:08Like, I honestly think Cat and Brunson really aren't that much
- 28:12better than seeing Steve Urkel, Tyrese Halliburton, all right,
- 28:18And Pascal Siakam. Now you've lost.
- 28:22You've lost all your credibility, you lost all Pascal
- 28:25Siakam. Are you, are you trying to sell
- 28:28that to anybody watching the finals?
- 28:30I'm not saying Siakam, I don't think Cat is either.
- 28:35I don't. But I'm like, it's a big market,
- 28:37but it's not like the Knicks would like have these soup,
- 28:39massive superstars and media drawing players.
- 28:43Oh, hold on this. So Jalen.
- 28:45So Jalen Bronson isn't a top three-point guard in the NBA
- 28:48right now. I he might be, but that's not
- 28:52that doesn't mean you're marketable.
- 28:53How about this? Hold on, hold on, Carl Anthony.
- 28:56Carl Anthony Towns is in a top five center in the league right
- 28:59now. I would I don't think they have.
- 29:02He is maybe he is maybe maybe, but he's not marketable.
- 29:06It's it's. Define marketable?
- 29:08I want to hear. Give me something to find.
- 29:10Do you think Giannis is marketable?
- 29:12Big. Do you think Giannis is
- 29:14marketable? I think the team's not great,
- 29:16but marketable. How many big men in the NBA?
- 29:19My question is hold on my my score, LeBron.
- 29:22Wendy. Stop webbing, Yama.
- 29:26This guy, how is he marketable? The guy has blood clots.
- 29:30He might not even be back next year.
- 29:32This guy's been in the league. The guy's been.
- 29:34The guy's been in the league for two years.
- 29:37Two years. How is he marketable?
- 29:39We don't even know what he can do.
- 29:41He's it's international allure. He's a freak.
- 29:45He looks like an alien. He is marketable.
- 29:47You can't tell me that having a series with the Knicks is going
- 29:51to cost the NBA that much money. So you don't have, you don't
- 29:54have Ben Stiller and Spike Lee butt fucking each other on the
- 29:58on the sidelines. And that's what's going to cost
- 29:59you is. That is that what you think it
- 30:01is? I I honestly think it's we have
- 30:04to have the star power that it's the celebs that go to the game.
- 30:07That I disagree with. Our power.
- 30:09I disagree. I just don't think I will.
- 30:11I I just don't think this Knicks team is as marketable as the 99
- 30:16X or when they made the. Oh, really?
- 30:18Oh, really? OK, so tell me what you're
- 30:20marketing. John Starks, the bricklayer
- 30:22himself? Charles Smith, you would Charles
- 30:25Oakley, who's my favorite player, but by the way was a
- 30:28journeyman from the Chicago Bulls.
- 30:31Give me a break. Anthony Mason, who was drafted
- 30:33by the Knicks 3-3 years before 94.
- 30:36Now don't try to tell me about the Knicks.
- 30:38I'm a Knicks fan. Don't tell me the 90s Knicks are
- 30:42more marketable than this Knick team.
- 30:45And I'm I'll, I'll agree with you.
- 30:47I don't think the Knicks are winning this series and I'll be
- 30:49I, I'm going to tell you this. I won't be surprised if the
- 30:52Knicks win Game 6 and losing Game 7 because it's typical New
- 30:55York Knick fashion. I've said this over and.
- 30:58Over and over again. I do I don't think I.
- 31:00Am I. Am I?
- 31:03Am I? I think, I think to be honest
- 31:06and I kind of, and I did not, I will be honest, I did not have
- 31:11the Pacers beating the Cavs. I didn't see that coming.
- 31:15But I actually thought the Knicks matched a better versus
- 31:18Cleveland than they do versus the Pacers.
- 31:20I don't think they have enough bodies to what the Pacers bring.
- 31:25It's just a bad matchup. They play at a very fast pace,
- 31:29which is completely not what the Knicks want to do.
- 31:32It's a bad matchup. I think the Pacers winning Game
- 31:356 all right. If they do not, I don't see them
- 31:37winning the series. I think the Knicks will come
- 31:39back to win this. Alright, give us give us your
- 31:41number three if you're you're, you're #2 #3 and #4.
- 31:45Well, it's going to be my question is this when is the NHL
- 31:50playoffs? Is not this is going to be a
- 31:55plan that's not going to cash for a couple weeks.
- 31:58I think the Ms. Oilers are going to win the Cup.
- 32:00I think the Ms. Oilers are the best team.
- 32:02I've kind of been riding them all playoffs long.
- 32:06I thought they, I think Skinner is not really their X Factor.
- 32:10It's their offense. They have some of the fat.
- 32:11They have the fastest skater in the NHL.
- 32:14They have a couple of the fastest top five skaters in the
- 32:17NHL. They have two of the best
- 32:18offensive players in the NHL. They got their best defensive
- 32:21player back at home today. They got Perry back today.
- 32:26This is a team that's really, really good.
- 32:28And no matter how their goalie and their defense struggle at
- 32:30times, their offensive pressure is so much to deal with.
- 32:36I like Sergei Big Bob Nabrovsky, I think he's one of the best
- 32:40goalkeeper, probably top 2 in my opinion in the NHL over the last
- 32:43two or three seasons. I think the offensive firepower
- 32:47of Edmonton is going to be too much to contend over A7 game
- 32:50series. I think Edmonton wins this
- 32:52series and they are the better team though the more complete
- 32:55team. And I'm not really a big fan of
- 32:58what the the Florida Panthers bring offensively.
- 33:01I think in my opinion is the speed, physicality of Edmonton's
- 33:05to win this series. So the series probably starts
- 33:09not till next weekend, I think because this is both series
- 33:12ended in four. So I think it.
- 33:15What are you? What are you what what are your
- 33:18interests when it comes to wagering?
- 33:20Because I like to bet you on this.
- 33:22What do you want to wager? I think Edmonton.
- 33:24What do you mean? What am I?
- 33:25What am I? You have Edmonton, I'll have
- 33:27Florida. What I do think, I do think that
- 33:34then I'm going to go to basketball.
- 33:36The spread probably just dropped again.
- 33:38I think I've been pretty open. I've been pretty high on.
- 33:43Look at Indiana -3 1/2. I'm actually going to do it a
- 33:46different way. I'm going to take their team
- 33:48total over. Outside of tonight.
- 33:50They've covered the team total over all but three games in the
- 33:53NF. In their NBA playoffs.
- 33:55They play at a really fast pace. Back at home, they scored.
- 33:58At one point they were had 34 points.
- 34:01With three minutes to go in the first half, they scored 40
- 34:04something points or last home game in the first quarter.
- 34:07I think when they get home, I think it's going to be a really
- 34:10fast up tempo pace. Tyrese didn't have a good game
- 34:14expects nots back. I don't like the point.
- 34:16I think this could be a possession game.
- 34:19I not I don't even I think the Knicks might would make could
- 34:22win this game. I think the Pacers catch their
- 34:25team told us about 111 and a half, 112.
- 34:28They've hit this and all the three of the NBA playoff games
- 34:31they've hit this I think all but three times over the last six
- 34:34weeks when you look back into the regular season.
- 34:37So this is a team that will score points, win or lose, cover
- 34:40or not cover, they'll score their points.
- 34:42I'm going to take them on Saturday, right Friday, on
- 34:45Saturday to cover their team total.
- 34:49And then we have the Edmonton series and then I'm only going
- 34:51to give you one more play because it's all I got to,
- 34:55that's all I got this week. It's we got baseball.
- 34:57Baseball lines are hard to come by two or three days in advance
- 35:01that you have to really have the next day.
- 35:03And some of the lines aren't even up yet that I'm looking at.
- 35:06So the next game I'm going to take is going to be VMC real
- 35:11quick. Yeah, we're going to take the
- 35:13Washington Nationals. A big line at plus 180 against
- 35:17Diamondbacks. I think the pitching matchup
- 35:19actually doesn't favor the Diamondbacks as you think it
- 35:22would with Mel Kelly on the hill.
- 35:24It's just way too much to to to lay.
- 35:28I will say that Washington Nationals have been a team I'd
- 35:31like to be on because you're getting a lot of value on them,
- 35:35but I feel like every time I'm on them they play like the
- 35:37Nationals of what you expect and when I don't play them they play
- 35:41like the World Series. Nationals really hit or miss.
- 35:43But at this value plus 180, I'll go in and throw a little shekel
- 35:47on there. But those are my 3 plays for the
- 35:49week and I'm only going to be able to catch 2 by next week
- 35:52because NHL series will be just starting.
- 35:55All right, you know, Johnny, we love you man, but we definitely
- 35:58got to put a put a little wager on it.
- 36:01I got Florida and. You think Florida's going to
- 36:03win? I do I'm going I'm going with
- 36:09the best goalie in this series and I I like Brad Marshant, I
- 36:14like Matthew Kachuk, who's healthy and I think they're a
- 36:16gritty team and I think they're the better all around team.
- 36:19Now. I do like obviously Connor
- 36:21McDavid and and dry Saddle. They're sensational players.
- 36:24I think they're the two best players in the league, but
- 36:27having the two best players in the league, you, you look at
- 36:30what Florida is bringing to the table.
- 36:32This is a championship team. They've been there back-to-back
- 36:35to back years and they've won one title.
- 36:38I expect it went they'll they will be the first team to win
- 36:41back-to-back titles since Chicago.
- 36:45I'm sorry. No, no, no, It wasn't the light.
- 36:47It was a lightning. It was a Lightning.
- 36:48Yeah. And then before that.
- 36:49Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh.
- 36:50Pittsburgh, Yes. Yeah, but I will say that in
- 36:53that what I saw in that Tampa Bay Lightning and again this is
- 36:56this tour is big reason why I'm on Edmonton is when you looked
- 37:00at Tampa Bay Lightning in their third series, they had one
- 37:04back-to-back. So it's loaded from the floor
- 37:05that lost 111. But in that third series, they
- 37:09played a team in the Colorado Avalanche that was so much
- 37:12faster, and the the actual fatigue of playing in three
- 37:17straight NHL finals showed on Tampa Bay in that series.
- 37:21They were completely dominated. They were out skated.
- 37:24They were out physical. Colorado looked like they were
- 37:27on a different planet. And Edmonton, Edmonton was in
- 37:30the finals last year. So I I think they're both.
- 37:32This is three years in a row, Two years in a row.
- 37:35I just think that you also have a team that just lost in this
- 37:39series last season. We'll see.
- 37:41It is a lot of motivation that I I just think that it's going to
- 37:45be, I think it's going to be a good series.
- 37:47I think it goes at least six games.
- 37:50I hope it goes, you know, a little bit longer.
- 37:52We'll see. But I think it's going to be a
- 37:54great series. I just think Edmonton is a
- 37:56better team. I think their offense puts them
