- 1:51Speaker 4: Chris Lawrence is here. Hey you doing man? I'm doing well.
- 1:53Speaker 4: How are you, sir? Fucking the Camo Tennessee hat today, Yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 4: exactly night.
- 1:57Speaker 5: And when does a work weekend? I never knew there
- 2:01Speaker 5: was such an end.
- 2:01Speaker 2: It's it really never end.
- 2:03Speaker 5: I don't know that it worked. I don't even have
- 2:05Speaker 5: a work week. It's almost like a work lifetime. Yeah,
- 2:07Speaker 5: I mean, you know, I work and then I'm done,
- 2:10Speaker 5: I die. That's that's kind of how my only line goes.
- 2:13Speaker 4: The only time I have ever had a job that
- 2:16Speaker 4: I can say that there was work weekend, it was
- 2:19Speaker 4: when I was in state government. That's the only time
- 2:21Speaker 4: I can say. And that's not a knock against state.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I'm just going to.
- 2:25Speaker 5: I'm going to refrain from saying anything now. I'm just
- 2:27Speaker 5: saying that's the only time.
- 2:29Speaker 4: And even then, even then, you know, you're expected to
- 2:31Speaker 4: be connected, and you know, it had to work a
- 2:33Speaker 4: few weekends here.
- 2:34Speaker 5: My mom and dad were school teachers, so they you know,
- 2:38Speaker 5: when when we were off from school, they were off.
- 2:40Speaker 5: So that was a really cool setup. But sitting around
- 2:43Speaker 5: a kitchen table and listening to their day, uh during
- 2:47Speaker 5: dinner time, it gave me no desire to do that job.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:50Speaker 5: Yeah, the only three the only three good things about
- 2:53Speaker 5: that job were June, July, and August. Yeah, that was
- 2:56Speaker 5: that was the best.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Indeed.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Indeed, all right, it's bye week for Herbert Hoover this week,
- 3:00Speaker 4: so no game tonight on ninety six one KWS also
- 3:03Speaker 4: by a week for the Mountaineers, which gives us an
- 3:05Speaker 4: opportunity for two high school games Tonight on w CCHS.
- 3:09Speaker 4: We're gonna have coverage of Winfield as the Generals. We'll
- 3:12Speaker 4: travel to Ripley to take on the Vikings of Tomorrow
- 3:14Speaker 4: afternoon it's g W and Jefferson.
- 3:15Speaker 5: Jefferson making a long trip across the state to the
- 3:18Speaker 5: Canahan Valley. So yeah, we'll have both those games here
- 3:21Speaker 5: on WCCHS radio. We've got, like you said, Winfield and
- 3:24Speaker 5: Ripley tonight. Winfield has is three and two. They've lost
- 3:28Speaker 5: to Princeton and they lost to Hoover. A lot of
- 3:31Speaker 5: people have lost to Princeton, and yes, so so, and
- 3:35Speaker 5: really Ripley is two plays away from being five and one.
- 3:39Speaker 5: There are yes, there are three and three. There are
- 3:41Speaker 5: two plays away from being five one. H South Charleston
- 3:45Speaker 5: beat them on that last second, hailed Mary to open
- 3:48Speaker 5: the seas.
- 3:49Speaker 2: And miracle play. Yeah, why they call it that?
- 3:51Speaker 5: And then uh and then Rome County beat them in
- 3:54Speaker 5: a similar fashion last week. Other than that they felled
- 3:57Speaker 5: a nitro and that was it. So should be a
- 4:00Speaker 5: game tonight. I've never done a game at Memorial Stadium
- 4:02Speaker 5: in Ripley. What I remember most about that place, though
- 4:05Speaker 5: having never been there, is that was the first field
- 4:08Speaker 5: I ever knew that had turf. Okay, remember they did
- 4:10Speaker 5: the huge YEP fundraiser and Metro News was a big
- 4:14Speaker 5: part of that to put turf on that field. And
- 4:18Speaker 5: that's back when turf was like a new, big thing.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Right yeah, now I can. There's probably only like one
- 4:25Speaker 5: or two places I've gone that don't have turf, right
- 4:27Speaker 5: you know.
- 4:27Speaker 4: And I'll tell you this about Ripley. It is a
- 4:31Speaker 4: place that when the Ripley Vikings are playing a big game,
- 4:33Speaker 4: or even a not so big game, the entire town
- 4:36Speaker 4: shuts down its blue everywhere when you pull into town.
- 4:40Speaker 4: So Winfield, I'm sure they'll be prepared for it, but
- 4:43Speaker 4: just know that once you get off that exit, if
- 4:45Speaker 4: you get off the Ripley exit of the Fairplanes Accent,
- 4:47Speaker 4: you're gonna see a whole lot of blue and you're
- 4:49Speaker 4: gonna have a lot, a whole lot of tailgating all
- 4:51Speaker 4: up and down Court Street.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Looking forward to it. So we will be there tonight.
- 4:54Speaker 5: The kickoff is at seven, so we'll be on there
- 4:56Speaker 5: at six thirty. I'll have to get them to give
- 4:58Speaker 5: us a clean break out of sports Line thirty Tomorrow
- 5:01Speaker 5: noon g W Jefferson one o'clock kickoffs, so we'll be
- 5:04Speaker 5: on there about twelve thirty there for GW and Jefferson. GW,
- 5:09Speaker 5: of course, is undefeated and hopes to continue that streak tomorrow.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Jefferson comes into this game with a record of one
- 5:15Speaker 5: and four. But you've got to consider they play over
- 5:18Speaker 5: there in that really rugged Eastern Panhandle where they've got
- 5:21Speaker 5: to take on Martinsburg and Spring Mills. They take on
- 5:24Speaker 5: some of those teams in Virginia that are really, really good.
- 5:27Speaker 5: So it's not that they are necessarily a bad team.
- 5:30Speaker 5: It's just that they have faced some really stiff competition,
- 5:33Speaker 5: high level of competition. We had a quick text here
- 5:36Speaker 5: somebody wanted to know if you had a surprise team
- 5:38Speaker 5: this season. Do I have a surprise team? No, they
- 5:46Speaker 5: didn't surprise me at all. I'm pointing at, pointing at
- 5:48Speaker 5: his alma mater. I've got a Logan high shirt off.
- 5:51Speaker 5: Logan did not surprise me at all. Frankly, I think
- 5:55Speaker 5: George Washington was a surprise. I did not expect them
- 5:58Speaker 5: to be as good as they are. I was not
- 6:02Speaker 5: sure what they were going to be, but they have
- 6:04Speaker 5: quietly just gone out there and played well. Because they
- 6:07Speaker 5: had a freshman running back, and I was like, anytime
- 6:10Speaker 5: you got a freshman, you're gonna you know, that's an
- 6:13Speaker 5: unproven commodity. But Jaden Black has proven to be such
- 6:15Speaker 5: a good running back for them. He's I mean, he's
- 6:18Speaker 5: putting up numbers that seasoned veterans can put up, and
- 6:22Speaker 5: he's a little guy, and if he can just stay healthy,
- 6:27Speaker 5: I think that they will go deep into the postseason. Okay,
- 6:30Speaker 5: so I would say GW is probably the biggest surprise
- 6:34Speaker 5: for me.
- 6:34Speaker 4: All Right, tomorrow, you got West Virginia Outdoors when we
- 6:38Speaker 4: got well.
- 6:39Speaker 5: After I leave Ripley tonight, I on head to Glenville
- 6:41Speaker 5: and spend the night there, and then we'll be on
- 6:43Speaker 5: the air with the West Virginia Outdoors live from the
- 6:46Speaker 5: Glenville four Age Camp because that is where the twenty
- 6:52Speaker 5: twenty five National Trappers Association Southeast Regional Convention is being held.
- 6:58Speaker 5: So we'll be talking trapping live from the four Age
- 7:00Speaker 5: Camp in Glenville tomorrow with trapping enthusiast from around the country.
- 7:04Speaker 5: All Right, and I'll be quickly back to Charleston to
- 7:07Speaker 5: do the GW Jefferson game.
- 7:09Speaker 2: But but you are going.
- 7:10Speaker 4: To get some time off. You're gonna take a little vacation.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm out of here next week.
- 7:13Speaker 2: All right, Well, and try to enjoy that if you can.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Yeah, next weekend it'll be GW taking on Huntington on
- 7:18Speaker 5: CCHS and that one will be Aaron Parker's show to
- 7:21Speaker 5: bring to you.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Okay, all right, quick text here for you real quick.
- 7:24Speaker 4: You're a popular guy, just says. Let Chris know that
- 7:26Speaker 4: the press box staff will take good care of the
- 7:29Speaker 4: crew with great food at Ripley.
- 7:30Speaker 5: I like to hear that. That's they know exactly what
- 7:33Speaker 5: they know exactly how to win me over.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Didn't you need me to drive tonight? Didn't know what
- 7:37Speaker 2: you said?
- 7:38Speaker 5: No, it was not what I said.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Okay, I just thought.
- 7:39Speaker 4: I'd check, all right, Chris Lawrence appreciate it, buddy.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Thanks Alimam.
- 7:42Speaker 4: It is nine to fifteen a day VLAN show on
- 7:44Speaker 4: five any Live broad Too, in part by Morgan to Morgan,
- 7:46Speaker 4: America's largest injury law firm. Let's bring an Angie Gillen
- 7:49Speaker 4: water from the canal to Charleston. You main association with
- 7:51Speaker 4: this week's Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week, Angie.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Good morning, Welcome to the show. Good morning, So, as always,
- 7:59Speaker 4: our pet's picture posted Dave Allen Radio and the WCCHS
- 8:05Speaker 4: Network on Facebook, also at Dave a seventy on X.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Tell us about Millie.
- 8:11Speaker 3: So sweet little Milly has a very interesting story. Her
- 8:15Speaker 3: mom originally came to the shelter as astray and she
- 8:20Speaker 3: was actually no Her mom pulled a fast one on
- 8:23Speaker 3: everybody in our kennels. We did not know she was
- 8:25Speaker 3: pregnant until we came in one morning and they were
- 8:28Speaker 3: teeny tiny little puppies in her kittle with her. So
- 8:32Speaker 3: Millie was born at the shelter. She's pretty much grown
- 8:35Speaker 3: up there. All of her siblings and her mother have
- 8:38Speaker 3: been adopted. It's just her and her dad that are
- 8:41Speaker 3: left available for adoption.
- 8:42Speaker 2: But she's a beautiful, beautiful dog.
- 8:44Speaker 4: And again I've got her picture posted it to Dave
- 8:46Speaker 4: Allen Radio and Facebook and also the WCCHS network work
- 8:49Speaker 4: Facebook page and at David seventy on ex And she
- 8:51Speaker 4: was a parvo survivor.
- 8:53Speaker 3: She absolutely was. She actually didn't catch parvo until much
- 8:58Speaker 3: much later in her life. But she ye, she beat
- 9:02Speaker 3: parvo and she's out of a phase now where she
- 9:05Speaker 3: can transfer that to other pets as well. So if
- 9:08Speaker 3: you do have other dogs at home and you're concerned
- 9:10Speaker 3: about them, you know, catching parvo from Milly, as long
- 9:13Speaker 3: as they're up to date on vaccines, it would be
- 9:15Speaker 3: an extremely rare case that that would happen.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Do we have any idea what kind of dog Millie is?
- 9:21Speaker 3: Uh So, her mom and dad were both almost like
- 9:26Speaker 3: white Shepherdy mixes, like they kind of had that shepherd
- 9:30Speaker 3: ear stance and shepherd hair. But there's definitely like some
- 9:34Speaker 3: other mixes because her dad also had one brown eye
- 9:38Speaker 3: and one blue eyes and maybe some husky, but just
- 9:42Speaker 3: West Virginia white dog. Yes, and I switched up from
- 9:45Speaker 3: the West Virginia brown and black dog.
- 9:46Speaker 4: I don't think we've used that one for the West
- 9:48Speaker 4: Virginia white dog. We've used a brown dog. Love it's
- 9:50Speaker 4: beautiful dog either way. Now, you were away from the
- 9:53Speaker 4: show last week as you had to take a trip
- 9:54Speaker 4: up north.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Talk about that.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Yeah, so we actually, myself and are K of Community Engagement, Sarah.
- 10:01Speaker 3: We went to New Jersey to the Petco in Middletown,
- 10:05Speaker 3: New Jersey and we took eight adoptable puppies and four
- 10:10Speaker 3: cats with us and ended up adopting out eight puppies
- 10:14Speaker 3: and one cat. So we were very excited about that,
- 10:18Speaker 3: and we got to meet a lot of wonderful people
- 10:21Speaker 3: up there, and when we left, me and Sarah just
- 10:24Speaker 3: could not stop talking about like because in New Jersey,
- 10:28Speaker 3: a lot of the people live on the beach, and
- 10:31Speaker 3: all of these dogs that were found, you know, as
- 10:33Speaker 3: strays in the woods of West Virginia somewhere are now
- 10:36Speaker 3: living going to be living their life on the beach.
- 10:39Speaker 4: They're Jersey dogs now dog Absolutely they are. They'll be
- 10:43Speaker 4: going out, you know, picking us some chicken palm and
- 10:45Speaker 4: heading down to the boardwalk and things that Petco has
- 10:48Speaker 4: absolutely been a great partner for shelters across the country.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Yes, and Petco has helped us out greatly as well.
- 10:55Speaker 3: A couple of months ago we received that one hundred
- 10:57Speaker 3: thousand dollars grant from Petco that's allowed us to do
- 11:01Speaker 3: trips like the New Jersey trip that's allowed us to
- 11:03Speaker 3: you know, stay and neoter vaccinate and give life saving
- 11:07Speaker 3: medical care to more pets than ever. So we are
- 11:10Speaker 3: very very thankful for our friends at pet Go.
- 11:12Speaker 4: And speaking to partnerships. We had on Chris Miller earlier
- 11:15Speaker 4: this week from a Dutch Miller Subaru, and they've got
- 11:17Speaker 4: an event next week. It's called how Oween h ow
- 11:21Speaker 4: l eleven to four. It's next weekend at their location
- 11:24Speaker 4: nineteen oh one Patrick Street Plase in Charleston, and it's
- 11:27Speaker 4: going to be a These events are always a great
- 11:29Speaker 4: help to you all.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Halloween is one of my favorite events that we that
- 11:34Speaker 3: we do every year. We fill our caravan, which is
- 11:37Speaker 3: our you know, mobile adoption trailer. We fill it to
- 11:40Speaker 3: the brim with adoptable puppies, cats, kitten and we adopt
- 11:45Speaker 3: them out Dutch Miller. We're super thankful they sponsor all
- 11:48Speaker 3: the adoption fees, so everyone is zero dollars to take
- 11:51Speaker 3: home and it's usually a pretty successful event. And since
- 11:55Speaker 3: it's Halloween theme, we also put all the animals in
- 11:58Speaker 3: really cute Halloween costume. Oh okay, Raven, if you can't
- 12:01Speaker 3: adopt and you want to stop by and just stay
- 12:03Speaker 3: hi tonight and get pictures of everyone, that also is
- 12:06Speaker 3: a big help to us.
- 12:07Speaker 4: All Right, again, we're talking to Angie Gillan Water from
- 12:09Speaker 4: the Cannaal Charleston. He made association with this week's adopt Me.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Please sped the week you guys out and about anywhere
- 12:15Speaker 4: this weekend.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Tomorrow we will be at Texas Roadhouse in South Charleston
- 12:21Speaker 3: from eleven to three, I believe, and we'll just be
- 12:25Speaker 3: set up outside with adoptable puppies. If you can't adopt
- 12:29Speaker 3: but still want to, you know, get puppy love in
- 12:31Speaker 3: before dinner, before lunch, what have you. We'll be out
- 12:34Speaker 3: there ready to stay.
- 12:35Speaker 6: Hello.
- 12:36Speaker 2: All right.
- 12:36Speaker 4: I had a quick text here I said, this is
- 12:39Speaker 4: for you. It said Angie. I saw Bubbles McGhee on
- 12:42Speaker 4: TV yesterday and he was absolutely adorable. It was told
- 12:45Speaker 4: that he was found with his siblings sadly in a
- 12:47Speaker 4: box outside the Shillion Dollar General. How are they doing?
- 12:50Speaker 4: Praying for them all?
- 12:53Speaker 3: So everyone is stable and doing great. I haven't actually
- 12:56Speaker 3: I actually went out of town again to Charlotte earlier
- 12:59Speaker 3: this week on the move this week, so I haven't
- 13:03Speaker 3: got to meet Bubble. I am updated constantly of who's
- 13:07Speaker 3: coming in and who's going out, and from what I
- 13:10Speaker 3: know that they they've been doing great. There's not been
- 13:13Speaker 3: any concern. So still adoptable, Still waiting for a home
- 13:18Speaker 3: to go to. But doing good despite the circumstances. I know,
- 13:23Speaker 3: thankfully the weather has been a little bit cooler, so
- 13:26Speaker 3: it's not necessarily a heat exhaustion worry, Thank goodness, but
- 13:30Speaker 3: we are getting into the you know, dangers of the
- 13:32Speaker 3: cold temperature stoos.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Also angentamine. To cut you off there, I'm sorry, but
- 13:39Speaker 4: one I understand. Stephanie producer tells me that one of
- 13:42Speaker 4: the adopt me please put of the week's dogs we
- 13:45Speaker 4: featured was adopted in New Jersey.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Uh, yes, Whyalon was adopted? Whalon? I fostered him for
- 13:54Speaker 3: a couple of days and he was adopted in New
- 13:57Speaker 3: Jersey by a family that absolutely fell in love with him.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Could not brag more about that family, and honestly brought
- 14:05Speaker 3: a small tear to my eye whenever they said that
- 14:08Speaker 3: instead of having a fenced in yard, they just do
- 14:11Speaker 3: walks on the beach every night. I was really excited
- 14:15Speaker 3: about that.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 14:17Speaker 4: All right, Angie, as always appreciate you and the work
- 14:20Speaker 4: that you do. And we'll talk more about this event
- 14:22Speaker 4: at Dutch Miller next next week. That again, that's going
- 14:26Speaker 4: to be next Saturday, and you guys are gonna be
- 14:27Speaker 4: out at Texas Roadhouse in South Charleston this weekend, right correct,
- 14:32Speaker 4: all right, Angie, we will talk again next week.
- 14:34Speaker 2: I appreciate you being here. Thanks a lot.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Sounds good. Everyone, have a great weekend.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Angie Gillenwater Canal, Charleston. You main association with this week's

- 17:06Speaker 4: into my house, they're staying. You know, That's that's just
- 17:09Speaker 4: the way it is. But I mean, fosters are a
- 17:10Speaker 4: very very big part of what they do with the

- 20:44Speaker 11: Just last night, I mean, you had the Kicking Cancer
- 20:47Speaker 11: and then I had the Goodwill's Money Carlow fundraising event
- 20:51Speaker 11: at Burry Hills.
- 20:52Speaker 8: It was amazing. I don't gamble and I don't.
- 20:55Speaker 11: Drink alcohol, but there was a lot of networking, like
- 20:57Speaker 11: Logan had mentioned, so and all a good cause. If
- 21:01Speaker 11: you can't get behind a good cause, I'm not sure

- 21:04Speaker 11: money with you.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 12: Well, and again, as you said, we always hear people
- 21:09Speaker 12: say there's nothing going on in Charleston, there's nothing to do. No,
- 21:13Speaker 12: look at my calendar, right, there's always something to do. Yeah,

- 22:26Speaker 2: I appreciate you both being here. Thanks lot.
- 22:28Speaker 4: By the way, what was going on from the mayor
- 22:30Speaker 4: It was actually an entire month of events up in Clinton,
- 22:32Speaker 4: and they are doing the costume Parade Clinton Elementary on

- 26:45Speaker 8: Well?
- 26:47Speaker 2: It's been good. It's been good.
- 26:48Speaker 16: Ashley and I took a little trip out west like
- 26:51Speaker 16: last week and step back and been busy catching up
- 26:55Speaker 16: on everything.
- 26:56Speaker 2: I don't know how I suppose going to say.
- 26:58Speaker 4: I don't mean to wrote you, but I don't know
- 26:59Speaker 4: how you do it with the schedule because anytime you
- 27:02Speaker 4: and I will text back and forth about you know,
- 27:04Speaker 4: do you want to come in here? And it's you know,
- 27:06Speaker 4: and you're always well, kid one's got this, Kid two's
- 27:09Speaker 4: got this.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Those kids, those kids keep you running more than political
- 27:12Speaker 2: people today.
- 27:13Speaker 1: It is, dude.
- 27:14Speaker 2: They're just at that age right.
- 27:15Speaker 16: It's like ten and my daughter's about to turn thirteen,
- 27:17Speaker 16: and it's like they're just in that spot where it's
- 27:19Speaker 16: like they're old enough to be involved in a bunch
- 27:21Speaker 16: of stuff, but not old enough to take their selves
- 27:25Speaker 16: to get themselves there. And so we're just like really
- 27:29Speaker 16: covered up. And the fall is more so than any
- 27:31Speaker 16: other time of year, so it's like we're just you know,
- 27:34Speaker 16: until like the holidays, man, we just go hardcore and.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's doing good though, man.
- 27:40Speaker 16: And then you know, political stuff, it's kind of quiet
- 27:43Speaker 16: here in Charleston. I mean, not a ton going on here. Obviously,
- 27:47Speaker 16: the federal stuff's always a right, you know, always a
- 27:50Speaker 16: zoo up there.
- 27:51Speaker 4: But does it seem to you though, Greg is somebody
- 27:52Speaker 4: who's done this a long time, And maybe it's the
- 27:55Speaker 4: fundraising aspect of it that people are announcing that they're
- 27:58Speaker 4: running earlier. I mean, yesterday I had a on the
- 28:00Speaker 4: show who's running for county Commission. He's already announced it.
- 28:03Speaker 4: I got a message last night from a lady who's
- 28:06Speaker 4: going to be running for Board of Education in Kanawa County.
- 28:08Speaker 4: She's going to come on the show next week. Does
- 28:10Speaker 4: it just seem like people are announcing earlier.
- 28:12Speaker 16: Well, I think that's a function of they're all the
- 28:14Speaker 16: elections now are in the primaries again, right, I mean,
- 28:17Speaker 16: if you you know, and you've been following politics in
- 28:19Speaker 16: West Virginia a long time, so right, twenty twenty years ago.
- 28:23Speaker 16: The campaign started in the fall the year before because
- 28:27Speaker 16: it was all Democratic primaries, yeah, right, and then we
- 28:29Speaker 16: had about a decade, you know, about twenty ten to
- 28:32Speaker 16: twenty twenty where most of the elections were in the fall,
- 28:36Speaker 16: were in the fall of the election year. And now
- 28:39Speaker 16: we're back to you know, almost a single party with
- 28:44Speaker 16: the Republicans in charge, and now you have Republican primaries.
- 28:48Speaker 16: So I mean, I think that's why you're seeing you know,
- 28:51Speaker 16: it feels like they're starting earlier because they are you know,
- 28:54Speaker 16: they are starting because it's you know, it's not like, Okay,
- 28:56Speaker 16: well I can start after the first of the year
- 28:58Speaker 16: because my elections in November. It's why I have to
- 29:01Speaker 16: start Labor Day of the year before, because my elections
- 29:04Speaker 16: in May. And you know this point and this is
- 29:07Speaker 16: the time where people are right like the people that
- 29:11Speaker 16: are announcing now are getting their websites open, getting their
- 29:13Speaker 16: bank account, they're having a fundraiser, they're getting their yard signs.
- 29:17Speaker 16: But you know what I mean, like this is the
- 29:19Speaker 16: sort of administrative slash banking some money part of it.
- 29:24Speaker 16: Then you'll get into the legislative session right where if
- 29:26Speaker 16: I'm an incumbent, I'm going to be trying to tout
- 29:30Speaker 16: the things that I've done, and if I'm a challenger
- 29:33Speaker 16: going against somebody who's already in the legislature. I'm going
- 29:36Speaker 16: to be throwing bombs at them, being like they're not
- 29:38Speaker 16: doing anything right. And then so that'll happen for a
- 29:41Speaker 16: couple of months, and then when the session ends, then
- 29:44Speaker 16: then that's when the campaigns will really the you know,
- 29:49Speaker 16: the paid part of it happens, right, the ads and
- 29:51Speaker 16: the stuff and the DV and the radio and the
- 29:53Speaker 16: all part. We like the part that that pays, that
- 29:56Speaker 16: keeps the lights on in the building here and and
- 30:00Speaker 16: that and that's and that will start and you know,
- 30:02Speaker 16: people all the time, right. I had some actually I've
- 30:05Speaker 16: had somebody from your company try to sell ads for
- 30:07Speaker 16: one of one of my other clients to me the
- 30:09Speaker 16: other day and I was like, man, you know, we
- 30:12Speaker 16: don't buy political ads. People aren't buying a lot of
- 30:14Speaker 16: political ads now.
- 30:16Speaker 15: Uh.
- 30:16Speaker 16: It's always tell candidates it's like champagne, right, Like when
- 30:19Speaker 16: do you see ads for champagne? Like around New Year's right,
- 30:21Speaker 16: because that's when people buy champagne.
- 30:23Speaker 4: However, let me let me play Devil's advocates and I
- 30:26Speaker 4: and I don't disagree with what you're saying. However, there
- 30:29Speaker 4: is something to be said and I from this aspect
- 30:32Speaker 4: of it. Over the years in radio, have known political
- 30:35Speaker 4: candidates that wanted to run before the fray starts, before
- 30:39Speaker 4: they all started.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Taking at one time.
- 30:40Speaker 16: Yeah, No, I think there's I think there's merit to that.
- 30:42Speaker 16: And it depends on you know, all different campaigns have
- 30:45Speaker 16: different strategies, right So, I mean, you know, you may
- 30:47Speaker 16: have somebody that's never done politics at all, and it's like, hey, look,
- 30:52Speaker 16: your average voter or just the you know, you know,
- 30:57Speaker 16: isn't probably listening to the political talks discussion that you
- 31:00Speaker 16: and I are having right like. You know, these are people,
- 31:02Speaker 16: people are your audience that's listening to me and you
- 31:05Speaker 16: talk right now, are a lot more tuned into politics
- 31:08Speaker 16: and the local community stuff than if we just grabbed
- 31:11Speaker 16: somebody down on Capitol Street right now.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Right like. And so that's that's one layer. They might
- 31:17Speaker 2: be better off for it, to be honest. Uh.
- 31:21Speaker 16: You know, look, I don't watch I don't watch I
- 31:23Speaker 16: don't watch cable news.
- 31:25Speaker 4: You have said that even numerous times that you do
- 31:27Speaker 4: not follow any news sources.
- 31:29Speaker 16: I don't I don't like cable news sources. I don't
- 31:31Speaker 16: follow any TV news. I don't watch it. Uh, you know,
- 31:35Speaker 16: if I'm sitting in a doctor's office or something, and.
- 31:38Speaker 2: What do you get your news? Though? I mean.
- 31:42Speaker 4: We obviously Metro News, Okay, we got we got to
- 31:44Speaker 4: start there because other than that it is. But but
- 31:47Speaker 4: where else? I mean, because there was a study that
- 31:49Speaker 4: came out a couple of days ago, or maybe we
- 31:52Speaker 4: should go about the number of people that only watch
- 31:55Speaker 4: one news source and it doesn't matter whether it's Folly
- 31:57Speaker 4: News or CNN or something they read line and that
- 32:01Speaker 4: to me, that's that's very troubling. I would almost rather
- 32:05Speaker 4: be somebody like you know you who says you don't
- 32:08Speaker 4: follow up because if you only are watching the only
- 32:11Speaker 4: tune in to Fox News, News Nation, Newsmax, MSNBC or
- 32:15Speaker 4: something online, you're only going to get one side.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Yeah, no matter what that side is. Yeah, yeah, no,
- 32:20Speaker 2: I I for sure.
- 32:21Speaker 16: I mean there's this different stuff that I follow online
- 32:24Speaker 16: that I know I can. I mean, you know, I've
- 32:25Speaker 16: got an online subscription of the Wall Street Journal, so
- 32:27Speaker 16: I'll follow it more for that kind of stuff. Obviously,
- 32:31Speaker 16: you all are the you know, the state wide news source,
- 32:34Speaker 16: certain certain news local newspapers around the state. I'll follow online.
- 32:40Speaker 16: I try to follow the gazette.
- 32:42Speaker 2: I try.
- 32:42Speaker 16: I don't even know if I have a subscription now
- 32:43Speaker 16: that it's so hard to like log in and they
- 32:45Speaker 16: log you out and it's like, uh, they need to
- 32:48Speaker 16: fix that a little aside there.
- 32:50Speaker 2: But uh, you know, so I think I don't know.
- 32:55Speaker 16: I mean, I just don't know who you don't. You know,
- 32:58Speaker 16: the more local stuff it's easier to try than the
- 33:00Speaker 16: stuff you don't know, right, So if you're online and
- 33:03Speaker 16: you just see something, you have to really like, I
- 33:06Speaker 16: have to see somebody that's like, hey, that person's stuff
- 33:09Speaker 16: that I see I think is usually fair, right, and
- 33:11Speaker 16: then you kind of follow like person and you see
- 33:12Speaker 16: what they're writing, you see what they're saying. But even
- 33:16Speaker 16: national stuff anymore, I mean, gosh, it's just so hard
- 33:18Speaker 16: to follow that.
- 33:20Speaker 4: What would you take on the partial government shutdown? I
- 33:23Speaker 4: mean DC is a mess, right, I mean, it's just
- 33:26Speaker 4: the year. It's just a DC is a mess.
- 33:29Speaker 16: I mean, obviously the Democrats are you know, look, the
- 33:31Speaker 16: Democrats are in a really bad spot right now. I mean,
- 33:34Speaker 16: you know, they're they're they're out here on some of
- 33:36Speaker 16: these crazy left fringe issues that that have.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Taken them off the deep end.
- 33:44Speaker 16: And someone some Democrat consultant has said, oh, hey, look,
- 33:49Speaker 16: let's let's deal with this shut down. We'll talk about
- 33:52Speaker 16: you know, healthcare, whatever it else, just so we're not
- 33:55Speaker 16: talking about trans stuff, or we're not talking about boys
- 33:58Speaker 16: and girls sports or whatever. And that's probably good for them, right. So,
- 34:02Speaker 16: I mean, even if they're getting blamed for the shutdown,
- 34:06Speaker 16: which they should be, at least it's about the shutdown
- 34:09Speaker 16: and it's not about something that's crazier, right. I mean,
- 34:12Speaker 16: you know, you talk to an average person, they look
- 34:14Speaker 16: at it and say, this doesn't impact me at all, right,
- 34:17Speaker 16: you know what I mean, like they you know, so
- 34:19Speaker 16: getting blamed for the shutdown is just to me, it's
- 34:22Speaker 16: just a stall tactic by the Democrats because they don't
- 34:25Speaker 16: want to actually have to talk about the other stuff
- 34:27Speaker 16: and they get to slow down Trump's agenda, you know,
- 34:30Speaker 16: which is aggressive. You know, Trump's got a very aggressive agenda.
- 34:32Speaker 16: He knows he's only going to be there four years,
- 34:35Speaker 16: maybe probably probably four years, just kidding, kidding. I think
- 34:44Speaker 16: he's going to do that?
- 34:46Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe, I think it's most likely not going to
- 34:51Speaker 2: do that.
- 34:52Speaker 16: Uh so, yeah, you know it's hard to follow that,
- 34:55Speaker 16: and I mean, look locally heck, the Democrats, they're probably
- 34:58Speaker 16: not even going to put anybody up really against our
- 35:00Speaker 16: federal candidates, you know what I mean. I mean, you
- 35:02Speaker 16: got a couple, you got a couple, you know, kind
- 35:05Speaker 16: of nut jobs running against jellingmore Capito that won't have
- 35:08Speaker 16: a chance. You got you know, I don't think anybody
- 35:10Speaker 16: credible will go against you know, Carol Miller or Riley Moore,
- 35:14Speaker 16: and you know, so the federal stuff's just kind of
- 35:16Speaker 16: it is what it is for a little bit here
- 35:17Speaker 16: in West Virginia. Obviously, on the state level, you know,
- 35:21Speaker 16: we won't have any state wide elections this year. Well,
- 35:23Speaker 16: you do have one state wide election this year, will
- 35:25Speaker 16: be the intermediate appelle at Court. You know, Dan Greer
- 35:28Speaker 16: is running for that, and you know, so unless he
- 35:32Speaker 16: gets the appointment to the open Armstead seat, he'll be
- 35:35Speaker 16: running for that. And you know, but all the other
- 35:38Speaker 16: you know, there's gonna be a lot of competitive state
- 35:40Speaker 16: legislative races, but the vast majority of them will be
- 35:43Speaker 16: in May, right. I mean, you may have a couple,
- 35:45Speaker 16: you may have a couple of elections in the fall,
- 35:48Speaker 16: but you know, the vast majority of them are going
- 35:50Speaker 16: to be in Way and that's why you're seeing fundraisers
- 35:53Speaker 16: and people announcing all that stuff.
- 35:55Speaker 4: Now talking to Greg Thomas, to Dave aland show and
- 35:58Speaker 4: find Vidie line brought to you by ber Rich the
- 35:59Speaker 4: real I'm sure it makes Realty Group looking for experience

- 36:13Speaker 4: or email or client that's clined with a k it
- 36:15Speaker 4: meets Realtygroup dot com. I do think it's interesting, and
- 36:18Speaker 4: you know, and I've talked about this. I think the
- 36:19Speaker 4: last time you were on the show is just like
- 36:22Speaker 4: for years there were these fringes within the Democrat Party,
- 36:25Speaker 4: you know, when they were in control for eighty three years,
- 36:27Speaker 4: you had your more moderate Democrats. I know that sounds
- 36:30Speaker 4: like an odd statement maybe for young people right now
- 36:32Speaker 4: to hear that and go, wait a minute, they're moderate Democrats,
- 36:34Speaker 4: but there were at.
- 36:35Speaker 16: Once there were we when I started out in this,
- 36:38Speaker 16: there were a ton.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Of them, right, Okay, So you had the more moderates
- 36:41Speaker 4: and you had the more left wing, and then you
- 36:43Speaker 4: had to you know, the ones that were more right leaning.
- 36:46Speaker 4: But we're still Democrats. And now with the with the
- 36:49Speaker 4: Republican Party, you know, it's it's basically the same thing
- 36:54Speaker 4: because now you're seeing different factions of the Republican Party.
- 36:58Speaker 2: You've got a.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Far right wing, i mean far right wing Republican branch.
- 37:04Speaker 4: And I'll bring up the name of Eric Tarr for example,
- 37:08Speaker 4: Senator Eric Tarr. People may say, well, he's pretty right wing. No, no, no,
- 37:12Speaker 4: there's people that are far more right than him, and
- 37:16Speaker 4: some I don't know if they're targeting to him and
- 37:18Speaker 4: his race necessarily, but those people are are running.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:21Speaker 16: Look, I think you know Tars situation is different out there.
- 37:25Speaker 16: I mean he you know, when you're when you're in
- 37:27Speaker 16: a position like Eric was, we're the Senate Finance chairman
- 37:29Speaker 16: and and now that he isn't.
- 37:31Speaker 2: You just get people come after you.
- 37:33Speaker 16: Right if you're if you're the majority leader, if you're
- 37:35Speaker 16: the Senate Finance Chairman, and you're you're you're vocal on
- 37:38Speaker 16: issues and you're out there, you're going to have people
- 37:40Speaker 16: run after I mean, people campaign against it. It's just
- 37:43Speaker 16: you know, that's just the way it is. And you know,
- 37:45Speaker 16: right now, Eric's not really in you know, I don't
- 37:48Speaker 16: really see him as being in either faction of the
- 37:51Speaker 16: two that are.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Out there right now.
- 37:53Speaker 4: And I will say, with in all fairness the two
- 37:56Speaker 4: that I mean, I know he's got two opponents in
- 37:58Speaker 4: that race. Neither one of them are really I would
- 38:00Speaker 4: call the far right. But I was saying about that
- 38:02Speaker 4: there are others that are running throughout the stay.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and there are some out there that do that.
- 38:07Speaker 16: I you know, I think a lot of times there's
- 38:10Speaker 16: people that try to portray there really far right, but
- 38:14Speaker 16: if you look at their actual politics, they're not right.
- 38:17Speaker 2: They and their donations, Yeah, they pick out it.
- 38:19Speaker 16: They pick out a couple sort of fringe issues, whether
- 38:22Speaker 16: it's the trans stuff for boys and girls sports, and
- 38:24Speaker 16: they get way out there on a couple a couple
- 38:26Speaker 16: sort of social issues, and then you sort of look
- 38:30Speaker 16: at it and almost all their contributions are coming from Democrat.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Trial lawyers, you know what I mean. So how far
- 38:35Speaker 2: to the right.
- 38:35Speaker 16: Can you be when ninety percent of your money's coming
- 38:38Speaker 16: from Democrats in Charleston And so that's happening across the
- 38:42Speaker 16: state a pretty good bit too. So but I know
- 38:46Speaker 16: what you mean. I mean, you know, but look that
- 38:47Speaker 16: and I think that's the thing with the Republican Party.
- 38:49Speaker 16: Right in West Virginia. There were there's been a couple
- 38:51Speaker 16: phases of Democrats leaving the National Party or well, I
- 38:56Speaker 16: think the Democrats. The Democrats left the National Party a lot,
- 38:59Speaker 16: starting probably fifteen years ago and then well twenty to
- 39:03Speaker 16: fifteen years ago, and then there was sort of another
- 39:05Speaker 16: wave maybe around twenty ten, twenty twelve, twenty fourteen when
- 39:09Speaker 16: the Republicans took over. But then there's been this recent
- 39:12Speaker 16: wave over the last four or five years. You know, look,
- 39:15Speaker 16: Republicans have been in control for ten years in West Virginia, right,
- 39:18Speaker 16: I mean, why did so The question I really ask
- 39:21Speaker 16: all the time is why did you leave the Democratic
- 39:23Speaker 16: Party in the last five years. It's not because you
- 39:25Speaker 16: were worried about big government? You know, the big government
- 39:28Speaker 16: people left the Democratic Party with Obama, right, It wasn't
- 39:32Speaker 16: over climate change. I mean those people left the Democratic
- 39:34Speaker 16: Party back when al Gore was there, right, So why
- 39:37Speaker 16: did they leave over the last couple of years? And
- 39:39Speaker 16: I really think it's some of those friends sort of
- 39:43Speaker 16: you know, it's it's the vaccine stuff. Or it's the
- 39:46Speaker 16: trans stuff, or it's the whatever. And to me, you know,
- 39:51Speaker 16: the lesson I learned when I as I watched as
- 39:55Speaker 16: I watched Obama and all that stuff happening, and we
- 39:57Speaker 16: had the tea party stuff and I was involved in
- 39:59Speaker 16: all of that West Virginia. I looked at what Obama
- 40:03Speaker 16: and those guys were doing and thought, oh my gosh, like,
- 40:05Speaker 16: look at what they're doing, trying to get the more
- 40:07Speaker 16: government control and tell everybody what to do. The lesson
- 40:11Speaker 16: I learned from that was, Hey, we need to get
- 40:13Speaker 16: back in control so we can have smaller government and
- 40:15Speaker 16: quit telling people what to do. I think some of
- 40:18Speaker 16: these new people to our party looked at it and said, hey,
- 40:21Speaker 16: when we get in control, we need to tell them
- 40:23Speaker 16: what to do.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:25Speaker 16: And we've had a lot of big you know, so
- 40:27Speaker 16: we now have a lot of big government Republicans. We
- 40:30Speaker 16: have a lot of big government Republicans that don't support
- 40:33Speaker 16: local control. And they are essentially the people that were
- 40:38Speaker 16: the Democrats and the most recently Democrats that have kind
- 40:43Speaker 16: of come over and we just haven't had time to
- 40:46Speaker 16: sort of we haven't made them assimilate. And they're very vocal, right,
- 40:51Speaker 16: they're very vocal, they're very outfront. They love getting attention,
- 40:54Speaker 16: they love being on Facebook, they like taking the pictures.
- 40:58Speaker 16: And you know, they're sort of conveniently Republican now. But
- 41:01Speaker 16: if you it doesn't take very long to pull up
- 41:04Speaker 16: the mask very far and you see that they're not
- 41:05Speaker 16: really conservatives.
- 41:07Speaker 2: And we're talking with Greg Thomas.
- 41:09Speaker 4: I I would agree with you on that, because there's
- 41:14Speaker 4: nothing with some of these Republicans in West Virginia. Some
- 41:18Speaker 4: they are all about you know, Charleston knows better than
- 41:21Speaker 4: you do, and that's not a very Republican thing. And
- 41:26Speaker 4: and and then or Washington knows better than than what
- 41:29Speaker 4: you do. That's that's the furthest away from conservatism that
- 41:32Speaker 4: you can possibly that you can possibly be.
- 41:35Speaker 16: I agree Dave, this whole banning foods and uh mandating
- 41:40Speaker 16: what you what, what kind of energy source you use,
- 41:43Speaker 16: and the mandates are not conservative. It's the opposite of conservative, right,
- 41:48Speaker 16: I mean, the conservative principle that I grew up with,
- 41:51Speaker 16: you know, sort of I'm a you know, obviously I
- 41:54Speaker 16: was like five when Reagan was getting elected, but like
- 41:58Speaker 16: you know, that's sort of and of you know, the
- 42:01Speaker 16: Reagan policies and then sort of coming in and look
- 42:04Speaker 16: at and I ran the Trump campaign in twenty fifteen,
- 42:06Speaker 16: twenty sixteen in West Virginia. So like, I'm a Trump person,
- 42:10Speaker 16: But I think people selectively even pick Trump stuff, right,
- 42:13Speaker 16: I mean, I think Trump comes out even when he
- 42:16Speaker 16: you know, say he won this last time, right, he
- 42:18Speaker 16: came out and was like all these social issues. He
- 42:20Speaker 16: sort of hit that stuff like a week or two,
- 42:23Speaker 16: got it done with, and then he focused on the economy.
- 42:25Speaker 16: Right where here in West Virginia, those people they're still
- 42:29Speaker 16: talking about the stuff he did in those two weeks
- 42:32Speaker 16: of executive orders, you know, and then all of the
- 42:36Speaker 16: stuff he was doing on the economy. They haven't, you know,
- 42:38Speaker 16: they try to mimic everything Trump does, except for all
- 42:41Speaker 16: the stuff that he does on jobs, right, and all
- 42:43Speaker 16: the stuff that he does on the economy. They don't
- 42:45Speaker 16: even try to be like Trump on the economy. You know,
- 42:47Speaker 16: they're not trying to this. You know, this was the
- 42:49Speaker 16: first legislative session we've had in six years in West
- 42:52Speaker 16: Virginia where we didn't have a tax cut, the first
- 42:54Speaker 16: in six years. I thought this once you told this
- 42:57Speaker 16: was the most conservative group of legislators ever had, but
- 43:01Speaker 16: yet we didn't have a tax cut, you know, are
- 43:04Speaker 16: you're hearing about a tax cut for next year? Yet yea,
- 43:06Speaker 16: these guys don't have it on their agenda. You know, look,
- 43:09Speaker 16: maybe Morsey will come out and do it, but the
- 43:10Speaker 16: legislators certainly aren't talking about it.
- 43:12Speaker 2: You know. That state's the state Senate.
- 43:14Speaker 16: You know, they go out and say, oh, we're the
- 43:15Speaker 16: we're the real we're the real Conservatives. And those guys
- 43:18Speaker 16: that were in control were a bunch of rhinos. Except
- 43:20Speaker 16: where we were cutting taxes, we were making we had
- 43:23Speaker 16: smaller government. You were creating jobs. West Virginia is one
- 43:26Speaker 16: of only three states in the country that lost jobs
- 43:29Speaker 16: over the last year. It's not going well right now.
- 43:32Speaker 16: I don't know, you know, and the Republicans are in control.
- 43:35Speaker 16: You know, someone's going to have to come out here
- 43:37Speaker 16: and say, hey, here's what we're doing and and here's
- 43:40Speaker 16: the plan to move forward, and here's what we're going
- 43:41Speaker 16: to do about jobs. And you know, we're still trying
- 43:44Speaker 16: to mimic what Trump did. And back in January, all right.
- 43:46Speaker 2: We got to take a break.

- 46:55Speaker 4: Greg Thomas is here. Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse. I actually
- 46:58Speaker 4: brought you here to talk about about about the organization
- 47:02Speaker 4: and about National.
- 47:03Speaker 16: Wells law Suit Abuse Awareness Week. You know, one of
- 47:07Speaker 16: the other hats that I've worn for a long time
- 47:09Speaker 16: is as director of West Virginia Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse. Uh,
- 47:12Speaker 16: you know, the state's only legal reform organization. You know,
- 47:15Speaker 16: we just we highlight how lawsuit abuse has a negative
- 47:18Speaker 16: impact on jobs, on impact to you know, increased taxes,
- 47:23Speaker 16: higher insurance rates, you know, reduces the ability to get
- 47:28Speaker 16: affordable health care. You know, in West Virginia, as you remember,
- 47:32Speaker 16: you know, a decade ago, we were one of the
- 47:34Speaker 16: worst states in the country for this stuff, right, I mean,
- 47:35Speaker 16: we were always on the judicial hellhole list. And you know,
- 47:39Speaker 16: and then the Republicans over the last decade have passed
- 47:42Speaker 16: a ton of legal reform. You know, you saw the
- 47:45Speaker 16: economy getting better in West Virginia.
- 47:47Speaker 15: Uh.
- 47:47Speaker 16: You know is any of the economic development people will
- 47:49Speaker 16: tell you, right, it's taxation, litigation regulation. Obviously, it's one
- 47:53Speaker 16: of the three main items that that businesses will look
- 47:56Speaker 16: at about whether they're going to expand or move to
- 47:59Speaker 16: a state. So we've we've made a lot of improvement there.
- 48:02Speaker 16: But the last like years, so you know, this was
- 48:04Speaker 16: the first year we didn't well. In addition to no
- 48:06Speaker 16: tax cuts this year, we didn't get any tourt reform
- 48:07Speaker 16: this year either, And I don't think that's a coincidence,
- 48:11Speaker 16: mind you. You know, so, look, lawsuit abuse has a
- 48:14Speaker 16: real negative impact on jobs. You know, we're seeing that
- 48:19Speaker 16: the personal injury lawyers have really gotten in with some
- 48:22Speaker 16: of these Republicans, especially in the state Senate. You know,
- 48:25Speaker 16: they're donating tens of thousands of dollars to some of
- 48:27Speaker 16: these candidates that are calling themselves conservatives.
- 48:30Speaker 2: And we're just hot.
- 48:31Speaker 16: You know, this is kind of a week that we
- 48:33Speaker 16: go out and you know, did interviews on other stations
- 48:35Speaker 16: and stuff too, and we put out some stuff to
- 48:37Speaker 16: our members being like, hey, you know, this is just
- 48:40Speaker 16: a reminder, right, it's fall. Everybody's busy, you get your kids,
- 48:42Speaker 16: you're running around a reminders the little reminder, Hey, lawsuit
- 48:47Speaker 16: abuse is still bad. It still has a negative impact
- 48:50Speaker 16: on the economy, and especially as these elections, you know,
- 48:55Speaker 16: speaking of you know, as these elections are coming up,
- 48:57Speaker 16: I mean we're seeing you know, a lot of Democrat
- 48:59Speaker 16: trial law especially here in Charleston. They're given you know,
- 49:02Speaker 16: had a fundraiser for a candidate and wheeling. You know,
- 49:04Speaker 16: Lord Chapman's raised fifty thousand dollars with not one donation
- 49:09Speaker 16: coming from her district. She's raised forty nine thousand dollars
- 49:12Speaker 16: and had no donations from her district, and the vast
- 49:16Speaker 16: majority of it was from trial lawyers here in Charleston.
- 49:20Speaker 16: She's gonna have tough time explaining that back and wheeling.
- 49:24Speaker 16: But yeah, I mean, you know, so that's you know,
- 49:25Speaker 16: I appreciate you just letting us, you know, sort of
- 49:28Speaker 16: talk about that for a minute, and you know, we're
- 49:31Speaker 16: just we're gonna stay after it, right and stay after
- 49:33Speaker 16: it and hope that we can get that back on track.
- 49:36Speaker 4: I mean, knock out some tex Texas in West Virginia
- 49:38Speaker 4: Democrats leaving the party last few years because they have
- 49:41Speaker 4: to run as Republicans to win, but they philosophically are
- 49:43Speaker 4: still Democrats. I despise. I'm sorry, there's still Democrats that
- 49:49Speaker 4: I despise and have courage to run for what you
- 49:51Speaker 4: really stand for.
- 49:52Speaker 16: Those text I don't disagree with that person, right, I mean,
- 49:55Speaker 16: I think that's that's definitely happening.
- 49:57Speaker 2: All right.
- 49:59Speaker 4: Dave Dave, Dave Norway has gone and messed up so
- 50:01Speaker 4: bad they gave the Nobel Peace Prize to someone other
- 50:03Speaker 4: than Donald Trump. Norway is about to suffer the wrath
- 50:05Speaker 4: of the agitated mistreat of victimize Donald Trump. I mean,
- 50:09Speaker 4: why wouldn't Trump, who has funded, supplied, and praised the
- 50:11Speaker 4: demolition of Gaza, who has deployed the military of American cities,
- 50:15Speaker 4: and who uses ice to round up brown people, Why
- 50:17Speaker 4: wouldn't Trump get the Peace Prize?
- 50:22Speaker 2: Uh? Oh, that's okay.
- 50:26Speaker 4: Texas text says have you seen the two insane, unhinged
- 50:30Speaker 4: hate field rants viewed by former West Virginian Richard O. Jetta,
- 50:33Speaker 4: who's now running for office in North Carolina. He's completely gone.
- 50:36Speaker 4: He's touting how he wants to beat up Stephen Miller.
- 50:38Speaker 4: I guess it's true now Democrats are so desperate now
- 50:41Speaker 4: they have reached the kill your opponent's phase of rules
- 50:43Speaker 4: for radicals.
- 50:45Speaker 16: Oh, Jetta's been that crazy for a long time, though.
- 50:47Speaker 16: Let's not let's not like act like this was like
- 50:49Speaker 16: a roller coaster that's on its way down.
- 50:52Speaker 2: You white stories from me. You remember where I'm from.
- 50:55Speaker 2: I do, Buddy. That guy's he's a piece of work, man,
- 50:59Speaker 2: He's a piece The.
- 51:00Speaker 4: Word tex says, I would love to debate Greg Thomas.
- 51:03Speaker 4: He speaks in four star generalities about marshmallow fluff political
- 51:07Speaker 4: issues while West Virginians are losing their health care population,
- 51:10Speaker 4: their schools, and coal industry revenue. And he can blame
- 51:12Speaker 4: Obama all he wants, But the GOP super duper majority
- 51:15Speaker 4: has been in charge for ten years. What have you
- 51:17Speaker 4: all done? Actually, just suck up the Trump.
- 51:19Speaker 16: Basically, we did have the economy back on track and
- 51:22Speaker 16: things were going well over the last few years. I mean, look,
- 51:24Speaker 16: I don't this person isn't wrong about everything they've said
- 51:27Speaker 16: and what's happened over the last year. You know, I
- 51:31Speaker 16: just we did have things back on track and things
- 51:33Speaker 16: were moving in the right direction after eighty four years
- 51:36Speaker 16: of Democrat control that put us last in every single
- 51:38Speaker 16: category ever, and we started to get back on track.
- 51:41Speaker 16: And now what's happened is those same special interests that
- 51:44Speaker 16: funded the Democrats for eighty years are now coming in
- 51:47Speaker 16: and trying to fund some of the fake Republicans we
- 51:49Speaker 16: have in the state Senate.
- 51:50Speaker 4: And I'd read this earlier. Texas Nobel Prize nominations must
- 51:54Speaker 4: be submitted by January thirty first for the Peace prize
- 51:56Speaker 4: Trump's can be nominated next year. I don't know whether
- 51:59Speaker 4: I mean I read somebody else that's said that too,
- 52:01Speaker 4: so I'm not totally sure about that. So what you're
- 52:03Speaker 4: saying as we wrap it up here, but I'm basically
- 52:05Speaker 4: hearing you say not to put words in your mouth,
- 52:07Speaker 4: is is that the lack of quote unquote growth is
- 52:10Speaker 4: the Republican's own fault because they haven't done, in your mind,
- 52:13Speaker 4: as much as they should.
- 52:14Speaker 2: We've gotten off track.
- 52:15Speaker 16: Yeah, we have the wrong The legislative legislative leadership right
- 52:19Speaker 16: now has the wrong priorities, especially in the State Center.
- 52:21Speaker 16: We just were not prioritizing. If you don't prioritize jobs,
- 52:24Speaker 16: you're not going to get jobs, and we're not doing that.
- 52:26Speaker 4: All right, Greg, Always pleasure to have you on the show.
- 52:27Speaker 4: Greg Thomas citizens agains lawsuit to be appreciated, Buddy, Thanks
- 52:30Speaker 4: a lot, Thanks boll All right, coming up on Monday show,
- 52:32Speaker 4: Danny Jones is going to stop by. We're gonna hear
- 52:35Speaker 4: from Lisa Odi you hear her on the Carl Lee podcast,
- 52:38Speaker 4: and also the folks from scare View are going to
- 52:40Speaker 4: be stopping by as well. I'll be back later today
- 52:42Speaker 4: with Metro News midday with thirteen News in Tonight Live
