- 0:21Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, let's get it. I love burgers. I love
- 0:24Speaker 1: burger cheese burgers, cheese burgers, gotta be cheese. Lots of pickles, lots.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Of pickle, and a strawberry cake.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Strawberry cake. Told you about that earlier. I used to
- 0:39Speaker 1: like strawberry shakes too, but.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I probably you eat all that. You ain't gonna make
- 0:44Speaker 3: it too.
- 0:44Speaker 1: But I can't. I can't do it now. Can't do
- 0:47Speaker 1: it now, not at this big age.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Can't do it.
- 0:52Speaker 1: All Right, you guys have some questions, Steve, you're ready
- 0:54Speaker 1: to close this out?
- 0:55Speaker 2: I stay ready.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Okay, I got question, I got I got some from
- 1:00Speaker 3: friends that's going through it. So give me your opinion
- 1:03Speaker 3: on two relatives who have just completely fallen out. And
- 1:10Speaker 3: you know us as other us, as relatives looking at it,
- 1:13Speaker 3: watching it unfold, and we see what the problem is.
- 1:17Speaker 3: But you know, you don't want to pick a side.
- 1:19Speaker 3: You don't want to make it look like even though
- 1:21Speaker 3: you know what's right or what's wrong?
- 1:23Speaker 1: What what?
- 1:23Speaker 2: What?
- 1:24Speaker 3: How do you approach it? Do you leave it alone
- 1:25Speaker 3: because it has nothing to do with you, or do
- 1:27Speaker 3: you try to at least fix two family members that
- 1:31Speaker 3: if this don't get fixed, it's not gonna ever get fixed.
- 1:33Speaker 2: They gonna You know, I've often had to mediate several
- 1:37Speaker 2: family disputes and it's a cool thing to do. I
- 1:40Speaker 2: would get involved because you know something, Usually what happens
- 1:45Speaker 2: with these family disputes is the both of the parties
- 1:49Speaker 2: want to be heard at nobody listening, and you've got
- 1:52Speaker 2: to get everybody to hear what the other person is saying.
- 1:56Speaker 2: And that's and that's what you have to do. So
- 1:59Speaker 2: I would get involved to try to get through because
- 2:01Speaker 2: there's three sides to every story. Is your side, it's
- 2:05Speaker 2: day side, and it's the truth. You can only get
- 2:09Speaker 2: to the truth by hearing both sides. But when people argument,
- 2:14Speaker 2: have you ever argued with somebody where their whole intent
- 2:16Speaker 2: is to be right? That that's a frugal that's a
- 2:21Speaker 2: frugal argument. Man that's an argument when you're not gonna
- 2:24Speaker 2: win when a person's whole goal is to be white.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I have this young kid that I mentor, and he
- 2:30Speaker 2: messes up quite often, right, and I try to straighten
- 2:34Speaker 2: him out, And the whole time i'm straightening him out,
- 2:36Speaker 2: he telling me the why he did it. Okay, man,
- 2:40Speaker 2: I got why you did it. And then in the
- 2:43Speaker 2: why he did it, it's always why he felt like
- 2:46Speaker 2: he should have did it that way. Okay, cool, I
- 2:49Speaker 2: got that too, But do you understand the consequences of
- 2:53Speaker 2: your actions? What you did has caused this to happen. Yeah,
- 2:57Speaker 2: but I was right when I said this. You know what, man,
- 3:01Speaker 2: My father in law said something that I've always remembered.
- 3:05Speaker 2: He said, just because you can do something don't mean
- 3:07Speaker 2: you should. And do you know how many people may
- 3:10Speaker 2: do stuff because they had the right to do it,
- 3:12Speaker 2: but they shouldn't have did it. We live in a
- 3:15Speaker 2: country that's supposed to be freedom of speech. You're free
- 3:18Speaker 2: to say what you want to say, but should you
- 3:20Speaker 2: though all the time the answer is no, Well I
- 3:24Speaker 2: got the right to say what I want to say.
- 3:26Speaker 2: You do, but that don't mean you should. You have
- 3:29Speaker 2: to practice some form of discretion. So when I see
- 3:33Speaker 2: two people arguing and I'm listening to them. I saw
- 3:36Speaker 2: some people arguing on the family feud said one day
- 3:39Speaker 2: we were all sitting around and these two people were
- 3:41Speaker 2: having this argument, and I was sitting there listening, you know,
- 3:45Speaker 2: and I said, hey, y'all, can I say something here?
- 3:47Speaker 2: I said, I don't think you all are hearing each other.
- 3:50Speaker 2: What you said was this? Now, when they said that,
- 3:53Speaker 2: what did you hear? And the person says something completely
- 3:57Speaker 2: different from what they said, I said, now tell me
- 3:59Speaker 2: what you said. And then the lady said what she said.
- 4:03Speaker 2: And then I asked the other guy said, now, what
- 4:04Speaker 2: did you hear her say? This is what she said
- 4:07Speaker 2: to me. I said, that's not what she said. So
- 4:10Speaker 2: you gotta get people to listen to what the other
- 4:14Speaker 2: person is saying and try to develop some type of understanding,
- 4:18Speaker 2: because if you don't, it'll just go the wrong way.
- 4:21Speaker 2: So to answer your question, if it's family, I would
- 4:24Speaker 2: try to mediate it because sometimes you need an outside
- 4:28Speaker 2: set of eyes and ears to be able to see
- 4:30Speaker 2: and hear what each other is saying and present the
- 4:33Speaker 2: case that way. But now here's the problem. Though, we
- 4:37Speaker 2: all know somebody who I don't care what you say,
- 4:41Speaker 2: they gonna stay right over there. I know some people
- 4:45Speaker 2: like that. I don't care what you say to them,
- 4:49Speaker 2: they gonna stay over there. I don't know if it's
- 4:52Speaker 2: because they just stubborn. I don't know if because they
- 4:56Speaker 2: just hell bent on being right. And I think it's
- 4:59Speaker 2: a coming of both things. I have a family member
- 5:03Speaker 2: right now that creates a narrative to justify everything they do.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And they sit there with their partner and they both
- 5:14Speaker 2: unify in this narrative to justify their actions, and everybody
- 5:18Speaker 2: else can clearly see is wrong. But they done justified it. Well,
- 5:23Speaker 2: you can't win like that. And then Bishop Browner, I
- 5:27Speaker 2: tell you, man, that man says something. He said, be
- 5:31Speaker 2: careful of people who are victims in circumstances that they created.
- 5:40Speaker 2: And boy, that's a tough one right there. And so
- 5:43Speaker 2: I know a lot of those people who are victims
- 5:46Speaker 2: all in circumstance. I had a god tell me. He said,
- 5:49Speaker 2: you iced me out your life. I said, hold up,
- 5:52Speaker 2: young brother, do you not remember telling me that you
- 5:55Speaker 2: would never talk to me ever again without the presence
- 5:59Speaker 2: of an attorney? Do you remember saying that to me? Now,
- 6:02Speaker 2: you don't turn around and say I asked you all
- 6:04Speaker 2: my life. You told me you wouldn't talk to me
- 6:06Speaker 2: without the presence of an attorney. So you created this situation.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Now you're the victim man, miss me, so medi eight.
- 6:17Speaker 2: If you can but recognize who you're talking too quickly,
- 6:20Speaker 2: and if you're talking to a person that ain't gonna
- 6:22Speaker 2: train sway, they stubborn or they gonna justify all they means,
- 6:26Speaker 2: then you're wasting your time. Let it be Pray for
- 6:29Speaker 2: him and move on. Those are my closing remarks today.
- 6:33Speaker 2: If you didn't like those closing remarks, we will be
