- 0:02All right, everybody take two, take 2.
- 0:16It's my day. Thursday.
- 0:18Today is my day. Joe.
- 0:20Rudy just called me, says what are you doing, Herman?
- 0:22I said it's my Mother Day. I will shave, I will get my ass
- 0:27off, but I'm tired. I've been working on my race car
- 0:30all week long. I've been helping Kim all week
- 0:33long. So I got a little time to scroll
- 0:37X social media today and I see some of you are not thinking
- 0:44properly. You're obsessed right now with
- 0:47other people's money. Here we go again.
- 0:51You don't have any money, but you just want to know why other
- 0:53people complain about making money.
- 0:57So the question by one of the callers on X was Jeff Gordon
- 1:04says they haven't made money in all these years.
- 1:06How can that be? They're flying around in jets
- 1:09and helicopters, as Larry Phillips would say with that
- 1:14cigarette in his mouth. Listen here, you dumb mother
- 1:18fucker. OK?
- 1:26You know all I did was go one through 12, right?
- 1:30That's all I did. And I can add, right?
- 1:34I can add. Can you add?
- 1:37Can you add? What's wrong with you?
- 1:42Come here. I'll let you down.
- 1:45Come here. Come on.
- 1:46What's going on, guys? There you go.
- 1:51Started whimpering. Lucy started whimpering like she
- 1:54couldn't get off the damn couch. She'll do that every once in a
- 1:57while. OK?
- 1:58Listen, I'm not. Some of you try to insult my
- 2:02intelligence and then they ain't going to fly with me.
- 2:06I own my own race teams. I brought my own money to the
- 2:09NASCAR teams. I know what the I'm talking
- 2:13about and I enjoy doing this every once in a while.
- 2:17I like sparring with you all, but some of you are so dumb you
- 2:21make what? Stop, she said.
- 2:25She said Kenny and I said well, she said stop.
- 2:30Well, Kim, they get aggressive with me.
- 2:32No, that doesn't I, I tell them the truth and then and then they
- 2:35all start arguing back with me. You wrong, Sylvain, to write,
- 2:41Kim, don't like me roughing y'all up.
- 2:43I enjoy it though 'cause you all deserve it 'cause you all should
- 2:46hear some of your stuff. Well, if they're not making any
- 2:48money, how do they? How do they get a helicopter out
- 2:51of the Iowa Speedway? OK, what does Rodger Penske,
- 3:02Jack Roush, just any NASCAR owner?
- 3:07What do they all have in common? They're wealthy before they go
- 3:12NASCAR. OK, Rodger Penske.
- 3:17OK, Jack Roush made all his money through Ford, through
- 3:21being an inventor of inventing things for Ford.
- 3:26I will explain it the way it works.
- 3:28But you got to listen. And you and you cannot be
- 3:31aggressive with me. Ask a serious question.
- 3:33I'll answer you, but don't get aggressive with me like you guys
- 3:36do. Well, then how do they, how do
- 3:38they fly these jets? What are they going to do, drive
- 3:41from Charlotte? You want them to drive from
- 3:43Charlotte to Texas to save some money?
- 3:46If that's the case, you don't need to be racing NASCAR.
- 3:50All right, here's the way it works.
- 3:54You drill an oil well, right? You drill for oil.
- 3:58Oil comes out, and Jed is a millionaire.
- 4:01Right? Rodger Penske.
- 4:04OK, now this is cliche. I'm trying to dumb it down.
- 4:09You strike oil, that means you're automatically wealthy.
- 4:13Rodger Penske. OK, He's got over 100
- 4:18dealerships and do you know how many oil changes they do?
- 4:23Do you money? You know how much you change oil
- 4:25in your car, right? So when you see Shell Oil on
- 4:29Joey Logano's car, that's not money exchange that Shell going
- 4:34will give you all free oil for your car Dealerships and you put
- 4:38the name on the car. Discount auto tire.
- 4:44Discount Auto tire. OK, we'll give you tires for
- 4:46your dealership. You put the name on the car and
- 4:51these people are wealthy already.
- 4:55Now you say, well, then why did they race NASCAR?
- 5:00There's two ways to race in NASCAR.
- 5:02If you race to win, it's going to be very hard to make money
- 5:08because you're going to spend all your money trying to win.
- 5:10Now, if you want to be, I'm not going to name names because I
- 5:16don't want people getting mad at me.
- 5:18If you want to be like some of the lower tier teams and you
- 5:21don't want to race to win, well then I can probably start making
- 5:25some money. And NASCAR looked down on that.
- 5:28That's called start and park. So when you hear Jeff Gordon say
- 5:35we've never made any money racing, it's true.
- 5:38They spend all their money to win.
- 5:42Rick Henrik, Jack Roush, Rodger Penske.
- 5:46These are already wealthy people.
- 5:49They made their money in others. This sport of NASCAR or IndyCar,
- 5:55these are all wealthy people. You know poor people don't own
- 5:58football teams, right? The NFL, the sport that you love
- 6:04so much, those are not poor people that own those teams.
- 6:09What's craft got in common with all of them?
- 6:11Craft that owns the New England Patriots.
- 6:13He's already wealthy. He's already wealthy.
- 6:16That's how he could afford to buy the team.
- 6:19Ah, ah. Now you finally get it, don't
- 6:22you? So it can cost by the time you
- 6:28build a car, by the time you pay for the tires, the hotel rooms,
- 6:33everything it takes to get to the Daytona 500, you know, And
- 6:37Brad Sweet said it. I interviewed Brad Sweet.
- 6:40I said Brad some of these dirt fans get mad at me because I say
- 6:44you cannot make a living running dirt and Brad even told me the
- 6:49fans come up to him. Kenny Wallace Brad Kenny Wallace
- 6:52says you can't make money running dirt and Brad's like go
- 6:56to the Kenny conversation, punch in Kenny Wallace Brad sweet Brad
- 7:01said it perfect. There's only about 3 guys in the
- 7:04World of Outlaws that are making money.
- 7:06Then 456 are surviving and the rest are.
- 7:11They need sugar daddies. Sugar daddies are somebody that
- 7:14are wealthy and they keep the ball rolling here.
- 7:17They give the driver 52 grand a year, maybe percentage.
- 7:20But when I talked to Jonathan Davenport, Jonathan said he
- 7:25wishes drivers had a salary, but they'll run for 34.
- 7:29My hands are dirty because I've been working hard.
- 7:32They'll drive for 30 to 50%. They're hanging on.
- 7:36They're surviving. So when you ask me how do these
- 7:42people in NASCAR not make any money, it's because the car
- 7:45owner's already wealthy. If you race and you took the
- 7:49money that NASCAR gave you, it won't pay the bills.
- 7:53You win the Daytona 500. Let's just for the and grands,
- 7:57let's just say it's let's say it's up now.
- 7:59Let's say it pays 1,000,000 to 2 million to win Indy 500 paid
- 8:03what, 3,000,000? They were at the Brickyard 400.
- 8:07They were. They plunk their asses down in
- 8:10those hotel rooms, those Airbnbs for a month, for a month.
- 8:17So people say like, I'm going to clear it up one more time.
- 8:23When Jeff Gordon says we don't make no money racing, that's
- 8:28right. Don't make no money racing.
- 8:30Rick Hendrick is making Jeff Gordon whole because if you were
- 8:37to take the money, you won the money NASCAR gives you to win,
- 8:41and it ain't enough. So what you do is you start
- 8:44skinning the cat a different way.
- 8:45You call up DuPont. Hey, will you sponsor us?
- 8:49DuPont goes, yeah, we'll sponsor you.
- 8:51So you get money from winning, which is a little bit.
- 8:56Then you get sponsorship money. Then all of a sudden you sell
- 8:59the souvenirs. You get souvenir money.
- 9:02So it, you know, you're well, Danny Hamlin's got this big old
- 9:05house on the lake and a helicopter.
- 9:07Well, he deserves it. You can't tell the guy that wins
- 9:11everything that Dak Pour. He's called a winner.
- 9:15He's wealthy for the most part. I'm going to leave you with
- 9:19this. For the most part, the money,
- 9:22the purse money that NASCAR gives you is not enough.
- 9:26And that's just fact. Now I've done my very best to
- 9:29explain to you. Have a great day.
