- 0:34Speaker 2: I forgot no idea.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Uh today we're talking about Uh oh, we're talking about
- 0:40Speaker 1: the Starfleet Academy.
- 0:42Speaker 3: I believe so.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Yes, I thought talk about Starfleet Academy.
- 0:45Speaker 2: I thought this was the he Man episode.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Oh oh no, we haven't got to that yet. Once
- 0:50Speaker 1: we've got we've got Star Trek News, we've got listener feedback.
- 0:54Speaker 1: And Daniel doesn't even know this. We've got the return
- 0:59Speaker 1: of the Pack lead review. That's right, I'm Scott Bowders.
- 1:06Speaker 1: With me is Daniel Reyes. And now, because he had
- 1:10Speaker 1: to watch this entire season, Dan just got back from
- 1:14Speaker 1: buying his new emotional support targ Ladies and gentlemen, Nice,
- 1:19Speaker 1: Dan Lombardo.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Nice. Does it have a little like a little vest
- 1:24Speaker 2: that says that, Yeah, but since it's a clingon targets
- 1:27Speaker 2: like a chain mail vest.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and every time you bring it into a restaurant, sir, sir,
- 1:37Speaker 1: can you tell me what that? What that? What that
- 1:39Speaker 1: targ does for you?
- 1:41Speaker 2: Yeah? And then I just and then I just head
- 1:43Speaker 2: butt the hostess.
- 1:47Speaker 1: It growls and snarls Oh boy, oh boy, oh boys. Right,
- 1:56Speaker 1: oh how is everybody?
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Daniel and I were just discussing, I'm going to
- 2:02Speaker 2: get one more cold and before the season's over, that's.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Right, just one more yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, and I'm
- 2:11Speaker 4: just getting over mine.
- 2:12Speaker 2: So yeah, so that's awesome. You know what, I just realized,
- 2:16Speaker 2: you know, Facebook shows what you were doing a year
- 2:18Speaker 2: ago and two years ago, and I'm coming up on
- 2:23Speaker 2: coming up on the six year anniversary of when I
- 2:28Speaker 2: did an episode locked in a hotel room for ten minuts.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Oh wow. Yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I think I don't go back and listen to old
- 2:36Speaker 2: episodes very often, but I think I might. I might
- 2:40Speaker 2: go back and listen to that one. I think David
- 2:43Speaker 2: David was on that one with us, so yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:46Speaker 2: oh wow.
- 2:47Speaker 3: We all had nothing else to do, so really, yeah,
- 2:50Speaker 3: I guess let's do this.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I literally had nothing right.
- 2:54Speaker 3: That may have been the highlight for that day.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it probably was. Yeh, I think, I think I
- 3:00Speaker 2: pants on.
- 3:03Speaker 3: And then you stopped and continued the street.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 3:08Speaker 4: That was the thing, guys, every time he was out
- 3:09Speaker 4: saving dogs, no pants, running around the neighborhood.
- 3:15Speaker 3: That's it, my goodness, run around the neighborhood like we
- 3:20Speaker 3: need the poop, sir.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Oh, thanks for that, visual, Daniel, thanks a lot. Well.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Speaking of visual, there's also a big news. It's a
- 3:33Speaker 4: certain lady's birthday according to Facebook.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Ah, yes, that's right, is it?
- 3:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right.
- 3:40Speaker 1: It's uh mama's strongbeard.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yeah, my mom's birthday is today. So happy what you mom?
- 3:49Speaker 2: Taking her to Denny's? What are you? What are you doing?
- 3:51Speaker 1: We had her over yesterday for for some pizza. We
- 3:55Speaker 1: had a little pizza party over.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Nice and nice, nice cake and ice creams.
- 4:00Speaker 2: What does she like on our pizza?
- 4:02Speaker 1: She she likes sausage, mushrooms and onions.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Okay, you get it.
- 4:08Speaker 3: So I'm more of a pepperoni fan myself.
- 4:12Speaker 1: But that's so are we. So we got her own
- 4:14Speaker 1: pizza and then we everybody else we got pep.
- 4:17Speaker 2: All right, I'm gonna put it out there I don't
- 4:19Speaker 2: know if I've said this before. Uh, chicken and green peppers,
- 4:23Speaker 2: that's trust me.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Okay, what is it?
- 4:27Speaker 3: The chicken with the with the white sauce. That's pretty good.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Uh. Usually like bread and chicken like a like a
- 4:34Speaker 2: chicken cutlet that they chop it up put it on
- 4:36Speaker 2: there with green peppers.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I'm telling you, Okay, Chef's kiss You guys ever have
- 4:41Speaker 1: like a specialty pizza, like a like a taco pizza.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Look, man, come on, yeah, I love I love I
- 4:51Speaker 2: love I love this guy. Yeah, and I know he
- 4:54Speaker 2: loves me. But there's there's certain things that we don't
- 4:57Speaker 2: we don't co mangle the pizza pizza talk was the taco?
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I love a good, good Mexican pizza.
- 5:07Speaker 3: You know that's such an abomination. Yeah, yeah, this is
- 5:13Speaker 3: what this is what I don't go to talk about.
- 5:15Speaker 2: So uh corn beef low maine. See you can't.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Just can't know it.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would.
- 5:27Speaker 1: About like a barbecue chicken pizza.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I do buffalo buffalo chicken. I don't. I don't like
- 5:33Speaker 2: barbecue on you.
- 5:35Speaker 3: You're playing it on the edge of the line. Okay,
- 5:38Speaker 3: watch your ass.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I well, you know, I just I just realized something too.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I listened to last week's episode, and I I better
- 5:45Speaker 1: be careful because I I need to watch myself because
- 5:50Speaker 1: I realized just how useless I am on the show
- 5:54Speaker 1: when I watched last week's episode. So I better to lie.
- 5:58Speaker 3: And it looks like Frostbag is trying to get banned
- 6:03Speaker 3: by saying taco pizza is great. That guy here and
- 6:12Speaker 3: going while Bill's going nuts with sausage and pineapple him too.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Oh boy, yeah, yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 4: The one that always weirds me out? Is it just
- 6:27Speaker 4: a plaine cheese pizza? Like my nephews love that. I
- 6:31Speaker 4: cannot no, no, I feel like we just started the pizza.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Where's the rest of it?
- 6:36Speaker 2: See? And I usually like if I go out to
- 6:38Speaker 2: Pizzai and I ordered a couple of slices, it's usually
- 6:40Speaker 2: I'll get something. I'll get one with something on it,
- 6:43Speaker 2: and then I get a plane. Gotta cleanse, gotta cleanse
- 6:45Speaker 2: the palette.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Okay, se for me, star drinking pizza, infinite diversity, infinite combination.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Right for me, a slice of cheese pizza is just
- 6:58Speaker 1: a meat delivery system.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:03Speaker 2: So here's the thing. If you're going to a new
- 7:06Speaker 2: pizza place and you need to evaluate the pizza. You
- 7:11Speaker 2: need it. You need a baseline, and that is that
- 7:14Speaker 2: is your cheese pizza. That's how you established the baseline.
- 7:17Speaker 2: You go in there and the cheese pizza sucks. It
- 7:20Speaker 2: doesn't matter what you put on it, it's irrelevant at
- 7:23Speaker 2: that point.
- 7:26Speaker 1: It was a cheese pizza. Oh my god, put some sausage.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Out there, pizza, cheesy bread. You guys, do you guys
- 7:34Speaker 2: know who Dave Dave Portnoy is. Okay, you see his videos. Yeah,
- 7:39Speaker 2: he trying to pizzas cheese cheese pizza every time. Because
- 7:45Speaker 2: if you're comparing this place to this place, but you
- 7:48Speaker 2: get a pepperoni here and you get sausage and green
- 7:51Speaker 2: peppers over here, and you get a barbecue pizza over there,
- 7:55Speaker 2: what do you what are you comparing? It's apples and oranges.
- 7:58Speaker 2: So if you go to a new pizza place, first thing,
- 8:00Speaker 2: if if you're contemplating going there again, the first thing
- 8:04Speaker 2: you have to get is a cheese pizza. If you're
- 8:05Speaker 2: on a road trip and you just stop it somewhere
- 8:07Speaker 2: for lunch, go buck well, get whatever you want.
- 8:10Speaker 3: But welcome to Pizza Cast everybody.
- 8:14Speaker 2: But if you're if you're like, Hey, look at this
- 8:17Speaker 2: new pizza place near my house or near my job.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I might I might go here again. The first slice
- 8:22Speaker 2: you get it better be a cheese pizza. Otherwise what
- 8:24Speaker 2: are you doing?
- 8:27Speaker 3: I would love to know the chat's take on this. Yeah,
- 8:31Speaker 3: this wisdom. I'm just a pizza for evaluation. What are
- 8:35Speaker 3: you guys thinking? Is that solid wisdom or not?
- 8:37Speaker 2: Or I need uh? I need duval or New York
- 8:41Speaker 2: City responded. I mean, man, the man lives in the
- 8:45Speaker 2: capital of pizza.
- 8:47Speaker 3: So oh, you're gonna get like a fifteen email.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yep, I'm gonna need him. I'm gonna need him to
- 8:53Speaker 2: to weigh in. And you know, I love all the listeners,
- 8:57Speaker 2: but if you're from Chicago, just hit this one out. Okay, just.
- 9:04Speaker 4: As you said, that is Chicago and New York pizza overrated.
- 9:09Speaker 2: No, wow, New York is not overrated. Chicago is pizza,
- 9:14Speaker 2: soup and a bread bawl and New York pizza. New
- 9:18Speaker 2: York has pizza.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I've had him both. I've had him both.
- 9:24Speaker 1: They're both never had New York pizza. I am going
- 9:26Speaker 1: to Detroit in a couple of months, So, yeah, where
- 9:32Speaker 1: were a vest Dan?
- 9:33Speaker 4: You're about to want to kick somebody out. Chicago is
- 9:38Speaker 4: the only real pizza.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Okay, all right, I'm getting out a plane right now.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Punch of in his mouth.
- 9:47Speaker 3: It's gonna be like that scene of Danso. Did you
- 9:50Speaker 3: stay on the internet and there's a guy guy a.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Star Trek T shirt at the door for you?
- 10:03Speaker 1: All right? What are we?
- 10:04Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 10:05Speaker 1: News?
- 10:05Speaker 2: Let's get starts? All right?
- 10:07Speaker 5: Cool star Trek news.
- 10:13Speaker 4: So our first bit of Star Trek news comes to
- 10:15Speaker 4: us from Collider. Let me pull this up here, And
- 10:19Speaker 4: they recently did an interview with Alex Kurtzman and Nonga Launda.
- 10:28Speaker 3: They're the co.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Runners of Starfleet Academy and so they were teasing what
- 10:33Speaker 4: to expect for season two. So it's a pretty long interview,
- 10:37Speaker 4: but some of the big highlights is, you know, don't
- 10:40Speaker 4: get too excited. We're not going to see Paul Giamani
- 10:43Speaker 4: in season two. We're not going to see Caleb's mom
- 10:47Speaker 4: in season two. They just flat out said that they
- 10:49Speaker 4: didn't like leave a teaser or anything like that.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Season two has been shot.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Another thing they did said is we can expect new
- 10:55Speaker 4: characters and new couple lings between the cadets.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Yes, more relationships.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Yes, I was just thinking, who am I shipping for
- 11:07Speaker 2: next year? Yeah?
- 11:09Speaker 3: So get ready to ship more?
- 11:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 3: So that's the big teases for season two.
- 11:17Speaker 4: They didn't give anything away as like what kind of
- 11:19Speaker 4: villains or what we can expect. I'm gonna hold my
- 11:23Speaker 4: fingers crossed for evil AI. I think it's due again.
- 11:28Speaker 4: I think we're gonna get some evil AI.
- 11:30Speaker 3: You know, who knows.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Our next new story comes to our next new story
- 11:36Speaker 4: comes to us from trekmovie dot com. And they're all
- 11:40Speaker 4: out right now kind of teasing and getting ready for
- 11:43Speaker 4: their seasons. So Henry Alonzo Myers talked about season four
- 11:49Speaker 4: of Strange New Worlds and uh, you know, he's just
- 11:54Speaker 4: talking about like they've already shot it, they're editing it
- 11:57Speaker 4: right now.
- 11:58Speaker 3: But I thought this was hilarious. Let me see if
- 12:00Speaker 3: I can find the quote. He says.
- 12:04Speaker 4: They asked him, well, there'd be a pivot in season four,
- 12:07Speaker 4: and he says, we looked at season four. We didn't
- 12:10Speaker 4: know what our future was going to be, so we're like,
- 12:13Speaker 4: we should do things we've never tried before. What should
- 12:16Speaker 4: we try? Well, what in Star Trek hasn't been done before?
- 12:20Speaker 4: Like the whole point of doing Strange New Worlds is
- 12:23Speaker 4: to visit some strange new world No kidding, everyone familiar
- 12:28Speaker 4: with the episode. Every episode is strange, different and new.
- 12:33Speaker 4: So we want to try something with Star Trek that
- 12:35Speaker 4: is familiar to Star Trek lovers, but it's a fresh,
- 12:38Speaker 4: different and explosive. So we want just we just want
- 12:41Speaker 4: to go for something. He did go on to say
- 12:44Speaker 4: that all the episodes tend to be different. He did,
- 12:47Speaker 4: you say, yes, there is the puppet episode, but that's,
- 12:50Speaker 4: you know, just one episode compared to the others.
- 12:54Speaker 3: So they're trying new things. I don't know what that means.
- 13:00Speaker 2: But cool. Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Yeah, they've already said they're going through season five right
- 13:09Speaker 1: for a strange Yeah.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Yeah, and they've shot it season five shot. We know
- 13:13Speaker 4: that we get Thomas Jane and like the last episode
- 13:15Speaker 4: is bones, so which is crazy to know that.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Yeah, So are you guys excited for season four of
- 13:28Speaker 3: of Stranger Worlds?
- 13:30Speaker 2: Yes, I am, Yeah, I am.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the same people that made this show.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not excited.
- 13:43Speaker 2: So yeah, I don't know.
- 13:44Speaker 1: If I've made my feelings clear about how I feel
- 13:47Speaker 1: about Alex Hurtzman on this show, right.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Well, if you're excited for that, then let's get to
- 13:53Speaker 4: our last news story. Come from IMDb and apparently a
- 13:58Speaker 4: new Star Trek show has officially been pitched to the
- 14:01Speaker 4: higher ups at Paramount Paramounts Guide ends and they have
- 14:06Speaker 4: officially been pitched Star Trek year one. So this would
- 14:11Speaker 4: basically be a reboot of TOS with Paul Wesley as Kirk.
- 14:17Speaker 4: And basically it would start it would take over from
- 14:20Speaker 4: Strange New Worlds after season five and continue on. So
- 14:27Speaker 4: no word yet if it's been picked up, but it
- 14:30Speaker 4: has been pitched.
- 14:31Speaker 1: So good, exactly what everybody was at.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Sound Yeah, yeah, fully expecting the pass on it.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I kind of think so too. Yeah, but that's all
- 14:47Speaker 3: the news stories.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, I have something for you. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 14:55Speaker 1: I have something for you. All right. Uh if you
- 14:58Speaker 1: don't mind, Ladies and John uh if Scott can, you can.
- 15:02Speaker 1: In association with trekcast dot Com proudly presents back by
- 15:08Speaker 1: popular demand, Star Trek Starfleet Academy Season one finale.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Wait, should we do this in the main topic because no? Huh, okay,
- 15:21Speaker 3: good keep going.
- 15:23Speaker 1: No, I wanted to do it before the review.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Okay, okay, okay, like a well oiled.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Like a well oiled machine.
- 15:29Speaker 3: I want to do moving. I just kick him down.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Yeah yeah?
- 15:36Speaker 1: Is it okay if I do it before Maine? Yeah? Okay,
- 15:41Speaker 1: where was I?
- 15:43Speaker 3: I have no idea?
- 15:44Speaker 1: Okay, uh, Star Trek fix the show.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I'm going to fix the show.
- 15:55Speaker 1: All right? Let me start over?
- 15:57Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead, go ahead?
- 15:58Speaker 1: Thanks? Uh if scot kid you can't. In an association
- 16:01Speaker 1: with trekcast dot Com proudly presents Star Trek Starfleet Academy
- 16:06Speaker 1: Season one finale, a pack led review.
- 16:13Speaker 2: What the hell was the.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Tune in next time for another pack lead review?
- 16:22Speaker 3: There you go.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, even even the pack leads wondered, what the hell
- 16:27Speaker 1: was that?
- 16:28Speaker 2: How did you get him to come to your house?
- 16:30Speaker 1: It was we're friends. Oh okay, all right, don't be shocked.
- 16:34Speaker 3: He is he?
- 16:37Speaker 1: No? No, no, yeah he did visit Chad.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Okay, that's right.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I was thinking about having a contest on the Facebook
- 16:45Speaker 1: page of uh naming.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Him, Yeah, just named Chad.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, there you go. All right.
- 17:03Speaker 2: So I got a message from Chad the other day
- 17:06Speaker 2: because he's you know, he's still a moderator in the
- 17:09Speaker 2: in the Facebook group and he and he messaged me
- 17:11Speaker 2: he's like, hey, I approved like one hundred and fifty comments.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Yes, what there was?
- 17:17Speaker 2: What the hell is going on? And I saw, you know, Dan,
- 17:19Speaker 2: you'll put up a hey, how was the last show post?
- 17:22Speaker 2: And once that gets shared a couple of times, that
- 17:25Speaker 2: usually blows up. But yeah, he was blown away by
- 17:29Speaker 2: how much how much interaction there was, which you know,
- 17:33Speaker 2: I've been approving him left and right too, And I'll
- 17:35Speaker 2: be honest, in the beginning, I was reading every one
- 17:38Speaker 2: of them, and after a while, like a kid, a kid.
- 17:40Speaker 3: I can't read them.
- 17:41Speaker 2: There's seventy five messages here. If one of them's awful,
- 17:45Speaker 2: someone will someone will flag it and will know and right, Yeah.
- 17:49Speaker 3: It's kind of crazy how those things blow up.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes they blow up. Sometimes you know nothing.
- 17:55Speaker 4: Yeah, the craziest ones will blow up to you like nothing, yep,
- 17:59Speaker 4: and then they blow up.
- 18:00Speaker 3: It's interesting how that happens.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like on on the Instagram account, I don't
- 18:07Speaker 4: even like even think about, like, oh, will this meme
- 18:10Speaker 4: blow up?
- 18:10Speaker 3: I have no idea because the randomest ones will do
- 18:15Speaker 3: huge numbers and they're not even that funny, and the
- 18:18Speaker 3: ones I think are hilarious, like barely get a.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Blip right, right. I know. Sometimes you post something and
- 18:24Speaker 2: you go back a couple of days later you're.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Like, oh, let's see, let's see, and it's like none
- 18:29Speaker 1: Carl liked it.
- 18:30Speaker 2: But that's it, right, Yeah.
- 18:34Speaker 1: All right, Dan, go get your emotional support targ We're
- 18:37Speaker 1: gonna have to talk about this episode.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Yeah, let's let's do the main topic. Fun will now comment.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Okay, so it's episode ten, the season finale of Star
- 18:55Speaker 4: Trek the Starfleet Academy, and everything is burning.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yes, including random fires on the bridge. Somebody on the
- 19:05Speaker 1: Facebook group mentioned.
- 19:06Speaker 6: That, yeah, yeah, we we use the We repurposed the
- 19:13Speaker 6: Atrium set to make our intercollected space court. Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 19:23Speaker 3: This episode was called the Rubicon, and basically it was
- 19:28Speaker 3: the big finale.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Nus Rucca basically put a giant mine mine wall around
- 19:37Speaker 4: the Federation.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Yes, that's right. I would have been more entertaining. Oh no,
- 19:47Speaker 3: he's blown away by the wind.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Yeah, and so they had to take down the minefield.
- 19:57Speaker 3: That did save the Federation.
- 19:58Speaker 2: You know. That's that's the new thing they're starting. They're
- 20:01Speaker 2: trying next year for Strange New World to go to
- 20:03Speaker 2: do an episode all in mines. Yeah, I'm sorry, Go ahead.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Weeah, yeah, it totally was.
- 20:16Speaker 1: So.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Yeah, So we had a weird like space CNN that
- 20:21Speaker 3: we were broadcasting the trial.
- 20:24Speaker 2: It was VNN. It was like News Network or whatever.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Which totally makes me wonder what else they play on
- 20:31Speaker 3: that show on that channel.
- 20:34Speaker 2: So that the the visuals were all over the place.
- 20:38Speaker 2: So they so they did stuff like that where they
- 20:41Speaker 2: made it look like we were watching CNN or Fox
- 20:44Speaker 2: News or something, which we've seen that in other TV
- 20:48Speaker 2: shows before. I get that, never really seen that in
- 20:52Speaker 2: Star Trek, so it kind of looked weird. We had
- 20:55Speaker 2: a couple of split screens where all the cadets call
- 20:59Speaker 2: Reno commander except Caleb says captain, and it was like
- 21:04Speaker 2: the screen was split up into four like almost like
- 21:06Speaker 2: comic book panels. I don't know why they did that.
- 21:09Speaker 2: That was kind of weird. In the beginning, the the
- 21:14Speaker 2: title card kind of flew into the scene that was
- 21:19Speaker 2: that was different.
- 21:20Speaker 1: I didn't not like it that. I thought that was
- 21:23Speaker 1: kind of interesting.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but.
- 21:28Speaker 3: I will say when I think it didn't it didn't
- 21:29Speaker 3: fit it was it.
- 21:30Speaker 2: It kind of took me out that why are we
- 21:32Speaker 2: why do things look different all of a sudden? This
- 21:34Speaker 2: the tenth episode of of of a series and suddenly
- 21:37Speaker 2: we're doing everything differently visually. It was weird.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Looks like I'm spinning. Okay, I'm back.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Oh I thought I lost you guys for a minute.
- 21:54Speaker 2: You're still there. Yeah, I'm still here.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, I'm just trying to think of something to
- 21:59Speaker 1: say about the episode, and I'm just like, okay.
- 22:02Speaker 4: So we started out it looked like we blew up
- 22:05Speaker 4: the ship, right, like they did this big thing.
- 22:08Speaker 3: I think we blew up from Magic school Bus. Yeah,
- 22:11Speaker 3: and uh, it ended up it was like a holographic
- 22:15Speaker 3: fake out. I thought that was a kind of cool idea.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Yes, but let's I think we should talk about how
- 22:22Speaker 1: they did again, talk about how they did it.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:26Speaker 1: The doctor reaches into his vest and pulls out his
- 22:31Speaker 1: old mobile emitter.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Ho was in year old mobile emitter, right, this.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Is This is his old mobile emitter from Voyager that
- 22:39Speaker 1: he got from the twenty ninth century, you know, the
- 22:43Speaker 1: episode back in the third season of Voyager. And it
- 22:47Speaker 1: looks old and I'm still not sure if it is
- 22:50Speaker 1: still the thing that is projecting him or not.
- 22:55Speaker 2: I think it is because when he hands it over,
- 22:58Speaker 2: he disappears, right yeah, and then and then Caleb taps
- 23:02Speaker 2: on it when it when it comes back out of
- 23:05Speaker 2: the computer, he taps on it to make the doctor reappear.
- 23:09Speaker 2: So I think he's just not wearing it on his
- 23:13Speaker 2: sleeve anymore. He's keeping it in his breast pocket or right.
- 23:17Speaker 2: I don't know. This is something maybe they should have
- 23:19Speaker 2: talked about a little bit.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Yeah, Like why he would be using a thousand year
- 23:25Speaker 1: old mobile emitter to transmit himself. That seems weird. Why
- 23:29Speaker 1: wouldn't he get an updated version? Why did it like
- 23:33Speaker 1: is it now made out of programmable matter? Why did
- 23:35Speaker 1: it meld into the ship?
- 23:36Speaker 2: That was my other question that was weird? And why
- 23:40Speaker 2: was it such a big deal what he did? Voyager
- 23:44Speaker 2: projected other ships outside of itself into space. They've done
- 23:50Speaker 2: that before. The Doctor's program even accidentally got projected out there.
- 23:55Speaker 2: And he didn't suddenly develop a phasia after that.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Right, And so all this new ship, this the state
- 24:05Speaker 1: of the art ship needed a thousand you know, needed
- 24:07Speaker 1: this technology in order to do this fake out. What
- 24:11Speaker 1: I didn't understand that, yeah, you know.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Well, And the other thing too is they said that
- 24:17Speaker 3: they had planned this before, So did they not know
- 24:21Speaker 3: that he would get a phasier from like did they
- 24:24Speaker 3: not plan that that deeply?
- 24:26Speaker 1: Or yeah, him getting him getting into that aphasia was
- 24:30Speaker 1: I didn't understand it.
- 24:31Speaker 2: What it was. It was. It was it was an
- 24:33Speaker 2: excuse to put him on the sideline for a little
- 24:38Speaker 2: while and something to do. So yeah, so that it's
- 24:43Speaker 2: Reno and and the cadets, not the doctor who's one
- 24:47Speaker 2: thousand years old and who also has emergency command right, uh,
- 24:54Speaker 2: hologram protocols. And then we talked last week like, oh,
- 24:57Speaker 2: what if he did the eh. Okay, they didn't want
- 25:00Speaker 2: him to do that. They didn't want it to be
- 25:01Speaker 2: a question why he didn't do that, So, okay, we
- 25:04Speaker 2: got to do something to take him out of play,
- 25:07Speaker 2: and that's what they did. So I under I understand
- 25:11Speaker 2: why they did it. So you brought up Jaden, And
- 25:16Speaker 2: there was something I was supposed to talk about it
- 25:18Speaker 2: a couple of weeks ago, and and I forgot, and
- 25:21Speaker 2: I remember this morning, so I jotted it down. Excuse me.
- 25:26Speaker 2: They keep calling him Cadet Crag, and that is incorrect.
- 25:32Speaker 2: His name is not Crag. His name is Jaden. He
- 25:36Speaker 2: is Cadet Jaden from the of the House of Crag. Okay,
- 25:41Speaker 2: because Wharf was Lieutenant Wharf of the House of Mogu.
- 25:45Speaker 2: He wasn't Lieutenant Mogue because your house name is your
- 25:48Speaker 2: last name. If if he was, then eventually he would
- 25:53Speaker 2: have changed his name to Commander Martak. Right, he joined
- 25:58Speaker 2: the House of of Mak. You know, Kern was Captain Kern.
- 26:03Speaker 2: He wasn't Captain Mogue. You know, sometimes your house name
- 26:10Speaker 2: is the same as your name if you lead your
- 26:12Speaker 2: own house. Mark Talk was the head of the House
- 26:14Speaker 2: of Martalk, so it was it was Mark Talk or
- 26:17Speaker 2: his great grandfather who started the house was also named Martin.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I don't know, we don't know. Is mar mar Yeah,
- 26:24Speaker 2: Mark Talk? Yeah, that was gonna be My other point
- 26:26Speaker 2: is that if that was his last name, then his
- 26:28Speaker 2: name is is Martalk? Martalk? Yes, yeah, so yeah, yeah,
- 26:35Speaker 2: got that out of my system. Let me check it
- 26:37Speaker 2: off on my little list. Yeah, guys, I got a list,
- 26:43Speaker 2: always got a list. But you know what I do.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I make I make these lists when I watched the show,
- 26:48Speaker 2: and then at the at the end of our podcast,
- 26:51Speaker 2: I deleted the list off my phone. It's like it's
- 26:56Speaker 2: like it's like, yes, it's a cleansing. It's like I'm us, yes, yes,
- 27:06Speaker 2: I pursh it, I go watch something else these pizza
- 27:09Speaker 2: and I go eat something else. That's what I do.
- 27:11Speaker 2: I eat a whole cheese pizza before every meal to
- 27:14Speaker 2: cleanse my palate.
- 27:15Speaker 3: So you know that maybe why you get so many golds.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Great diet.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 27:26Speaker 3: Yeah, God, I feel like, did you guys like the
- 27:32Speaker 3: episode or did you not?
- 27:35Speaker 1: It was okay?
- 27:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I wasn't one of the stronger ones, but it
- 27:40Speaker 3: still wasn't that good.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Yeah. So here's the thing. I don't like this show.
- 27:44Speaker 2: I think I've made it implendantly clear that I that
- 27:47Speaker 2: I don't like this show. Among the ten examples of
- 27:53Speaker 2: this show, it was one of the better ones. Yeah,
- 27:57Speaker 2: but that doesn't mean I liked it. I try to
- 28:00Speaker 2: rewatch it to I tell you guys, I watch it
- 28:02Speaker 2: on Thursday, and then I rewatch it Sunday morning to
- 28:04Speaker 2: take some notes for the show. I watched about twenty
- 28:07Speaker 2: minutes of it this morning, and I was like, I
- 28:08Speaker 2: got off ship to talk about it. I don't need to
- 28:10Speaker 2: watch this whole thing. Okay. So it's not like it's
- 28:15Speaker 2: not like I woke up this morning. I'm like, oh,
- 28:17Speaker 2: I get to watch it again. But trek cast didn't happen?
- 28:21Speaker 2: Didn't happen that, you know, twenty minutes? And I got
- 28:25Speaker 2: enough stuff here to to nitpick, you know, she says
- 28:32Speaker 2: to uh, she says to what is it? Nissa? Na? No, no, no?
- 28:42Speaker 2: Oh the mom Caleb's mom.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, something not okay?
- 28:49Speaker 2: Under any other circumstances, i'd give you a ship of
- 28:52Speaker 2: your own. Why she's a fugitive. She's a convicted felon
- 28:58Speaker 2: who escaped from prison. Why would you give her a
- 29:00Speaker 2: ship under any circumstances at all? Yeah? Do you want
- 29:07Speaker 2: to be court martialed? Right? Do you want to lose
- 29:09Speaker 2: your command? That makes no sense? You know, they could
- 29:13Speaker 2: have just as easily said, you know, I wish I
- 29:17Speaker 2: could give you a ship and let you run away
- 29:19Speaker 2: from here, but I can't. Right, It would have accomplished
- 29:24Speaker 2: the same thing without being ridiculous.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Yeah right.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Why are they hiding the cadets in the airlock? Im?
- 29:37Speaker 2: I was kind of.
- 29:41Speaker 3: To keep away from from us. They didn't.
- 29:43Speaker 4: They didn't want him to know that there were more
- 29:46Speaker 4: people on the ship because they were afraid he would
- 29:48Speaker 4: kill them all.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, he was thinly veiled, but he did.
- 29:53Speaker 2: But he did anyway, right.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Right, And when he destroyed the when he thought he
- 29:59Speaker 1: destroyed the ship, did he know the kids were on board?
- 30:02Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 30:04Speaker 2: I don't know, no, but he knew he knew the
- 30:08Speaker 2: doctor and uh jet Reno, Yeah, we board.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I loved. I loved jet Reno's character, by the way.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, man, her acting style is a
- 30:20Speaker 2: little weird. She's just every every line she delivers is
- 30:24Speaker 2: just monotone, like there's no emotion behind it, and that
- 30:31Speaker 2: I know that's I know that's the character that she's playing.
- 30:36Speaker 2: But I'm pretty sure that's that's like her character. That's
- 30:41Speaker 2: not jet Reno, that's tig Nataro.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Right. Yeah, I liked her line show me pretty streaks
- 30:49Speaker 1: of light.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:52Speaker 4: I think one thing they kind of glossed over like
- 30:54Speaker 4: they did in like the uh JJ movies.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Like in the JJ.
- 30:57Speaker 4: Movies, we had the magic blood that cured death, right,
- 31:01Speaker 4: we had immortality and the magic blood, and we just
- 31:04Speaker 4: glossed over that. With this one, the doctor basically figured
- 31:08Speaker 4: out free power by stabilizing Omega, right, and we just
- 31:15Speaker 4: kind of glossed over that because I mean, once you
- 31:17Speaker 4: stabilized and have free power, then you don't have poverty anymore,
- 31:21Speaker 4: because like they could just give the Veneri rawle replicators
- 31:26Speaker 4: and be like, look now you won't want for anything.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Here's free power, here's infinite resources at of nothing. Go nuts,
- 31:34Speaker 3: you know.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yeah, So I don't know, I don't know. None of
- 31:38Speaker 2: it makes sense. They they don't. They established say this
- 31:42Speaker 2: all the time. They establish their own rules, and then they.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Break their rule and then they break them.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Okay, she says. When when they're on the bridge and
- 31:52Speaker 2: they're surrounded by the Venari rall, she says, incoming transports
- 31:56Speaker 2: three two one, and then brum right, we've established that
- 32:02Speaker 2: at this point in time, transporting is instantaneous. There's no
- 32:06Speaker 2: there's no chimes, and then sparkles and you hear the sound,
- 32:11Speaker 2: and then they slowly materialize. That's gone, it's and you're there.
- 32:16Speaker 2: And then like literally ten minutes later, News says, get
- 32:21Speaker 2: us out of here, and no, sooner than the word
- 32:25Speaker 2: here is out of his mouth, he disappears. So when
- 32:29Speaker 2: she said incoming transport and then and then counts to three,
- 32:32Speaker 2: what exactly is she detecting there? Right? Right, It's just
- 32:41Speaker 2: it's just it's just little things.
- 32:43Speaker 4: That oh Edward is bringing up the fact that maybe
- 32:50Speaker 4: he's listening. A little bit later, at the launch of
- 32:52Speaker 4: Enterprise B there was a news conference. Yes that works, yeah, yep,
- 32:58Speaker 4: so yes, So for a long time, we've had twenty
- 33:02Speaker 4: four hour news channels, yes, Star Trek, I want to
- 33:04Speaker 4: see what goes on those channels.
- 33:06Speaker 2: And as everyone knows BNN, but your our news network
- 33:09Speaker 2: is a twenty six.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Hour that's true work, that's right, that's right.
- 33:14Speaker 4: Hold on, do you think that requires because I got absolutely.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Warning warning, NERD alert, NERD alert. So it's a pretty
- 33:25Speaker 3: deep cut right there.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Yep.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Well, okay, so should we get into our predictions and.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah one one more nitpick, go for it.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Two more nitpicks?
- 33:38Speaker 3: Okay, two knits?
- 33:40Speaker 2: Uh wait, I think I have to pee.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Yeah that was dumb.
- 33:44Speaker 2: That was dumb. And the baby pictures at the end, Yeah,
- 33:52Speaker 2: I understand what they're trying to do. Uh, but that's
- 33:58Speaker 2: something you do four years from now when these people
- 34:00Speaker 2: graduate from start the academy, not not at the end
- 34:03Speaker 2: of the first year. That made little sense. You're supposed
- 34:09Speaker 2: to get us to fall in love with these people first,
- 34:11Speaker 2: ye and then show us how cute they were, so well, you.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Probably don't think you're gonna get a fourth season, so
- 34:22Speaker 4: you probably see the writing on the wall. Ye, you
- 34:26Speaker 4: might as well to do what you need to do now. Yeah,
- 34:30Speaker 4: and you're not too sure about you know that second
- 34:31Speaker 4: season not getting back girled.
- 34:34Speaker 2: So yeah, right, all right, predictions, we see how we did?
- 34:40Speaker 3: All right? Yeah, we'll have to h we will have
- 34:43Speaker 3: to just make some decisions on these O. Let me
- 34:47Speaker 3: just pull them up, all right.
- 34:49Speaker 4: So for those of you who are are listening and
- 34:50Speaker 4: aren't sure, at the beginning, before even the season started,
- 34:54Speaker 4: we did a list of predictions things that we thought
- 34:57Speaker 4: were likely or unlikely to happen during season one of
- 35:02Speaker 4: the Starfleet Academy. So now we're going to go through
- 35:05Speaker 4: and decide whether or not we were correct. So we
- 35:09Speaker 4: will go through them. So the first one, will Dan
- 35:13Speaker 4: watch every episode? Originally Scott and Dan thought that was likely.
- 35:19Speaker 4: I thought he would rage quit at some point, so
- 35:22Speaker 4: I said likely, Dan, did you indeed watch every episode?
- 35:26Speaker 5: I did?
- 35:27Speaker 3: So, Yes, he did.
- 35:29Speaker 2: It was it wasn't easy, but you did it. I
- 35:32Speaker 2: did it. I did it for you guys. Did it
- 35:35Speaker 2: for you guys. When I say you guys, I don't
- 35:37Speaker 2: mean I don't mean him and him. I mean you
- 35:41Speaker 2: at home, you at home. I do this for you.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I do.
- 35:48Speaker 1: That's how committed he is, treck cast.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Oh I need to be committed. Oh yes, that's right.
- 35:54Speaker 4: I'm doing the tally marks right now so then I
- 35:57Speaker 4: can figure out all right, up then the next one.
- 36:01Speaker 4: See second prediction. They have a logical reason for the
- 36:05Speaker 4: female gem Hidar. Scott said that was likely. Both myself
- 36:10Speaker 4: and Dan said that was unlikely.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I think.
- 36:13Speaker 4: I mean, they made a thin, thin thing. They didn't
- 36:17Speaker 4: really get into it.
- 36:18Speaker 3: They just said that her dad was Geminar and her
- 36:21Speaker 3: mom was cling on.
- 36:23Speaker 1: But they didn't explain Yeah, they didn't explain it though.
- 36:27Speaker 4: Well, when when a mama cling on and a daddy
- 36:31Speaker 4: jem Hinar get together, Scott, I mean, it's your mom's birthday.
- 36:34Speaker 2: You might want to ask, Well, I don't know. They didn't.
- 36:42Speaker 2: They didn't say. There was no conversation where they said,
- 36:45Speaker 2: you know, for centuries we thought we were sterile, and
- 36:47Speaker 2: then we came to find out that we were lied
- 36:49Speaker 2: to by the founders, and YadA, YadA, YadA, and just
- 36:53Speaker 2: there were no females, so we had to mate with
- 36:55Speaker 2: females from a different There was no explanation of anything.
- 36:58Speaker 2: It was just my dad was Jemadar, my mom was
- 37:01Speaker 2: a was a clean yeah, and.
- 37:02Speaker 4: They could have had it like during the DS nine
- 37:04Speaker 4: episode Francisco freed our people or JEP free.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Yeah yep, ye, so yeah, I'm gonna get yeah.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Yeah, so we'll say no, okay, so yeah, so okay,
- 37:17Speaker 4: so that's right now. Dan is in the lead with
- 37:20Speaker 4: two Okay uh p RFG. Twenty twelve from Instagram said
- 37:29Speaker 4: Dawson's Creeks with Dawson's Creek with pew pews. We all
- 37:34Speaker 4: said likely yep, I mean yeah, yeah it was. So
- 37:41Speaker 4: that's a free point for all of us. So that
- 37:45Speaker 4: still puts Dan in the lead with three. Okay, there
- 37:50Speaker 4: are more than two characters we really enjoy. Scott said likely,
- 37:54Speaker 4: Dan said unlikely, and I said that was likely.
- 38:00Speaker 1: I think Dan wins this one.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm trying to think of the two characters I
- 38:06Speaker 3: really enjoyed.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Well, if you like, if you have to think about it, there's.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Your Yeah, that's the thing.
- 38:12Speaker 4: Like the ones I enjoyed, Like I like jet Reno
- 38:15Speaker 4: and I like the Doctor, but they're not new to
- 38:17Speaker 4: this series, right.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I think I'm an outlier. I enjoyed Sam's character.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I really did.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Okay, so two new characters that we really enjoyed. It
- 38:30Speaker 3: sounds like no, so.
- 38:35Speaker 4: I guess Dan gets that point. Okay, next one from
- 38:42Speaker 4: Anthony from Facebook, they'll get desperate and we'll see the
- 38:45Speaker 4: return of the Borg.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Didn't happen. So three points for all that. So now
- 38:56Speaker 3: the score is myself and Scott at three and Dan
- 39:00Speaker 3: with five. A Meal from Facebook the doctor related episode
- 39:06Speaker 3: will be the best Scott said likely, myself and Dan
- 39:09Speaker 3: said unlikely.
- 39:11Speaker 1: So that yeah, yeah, the closest thing we got to
- 39:15Speaker 1: a doctor related episode. It was the same episode which
- 39:21Speaker 1: I really enjoyed.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Yeah, but was that the best episode of the season?
- 39:28Speaker 2: I think I think more more people would say that
- 39:34Speaker 2: the Deep Space nine episode, Yeah, what was the high
- 39:37Speaker 2: what's the highlight of the season.
- 39:39Speaker 4: I think people would either say that the Deep Space
- 39:41Speaker 4: nine or the Miyazaki were the highlights. So yeah, I
- 39:48Speaker 4: don't I don't think it was the best episode of
- 39:50Speaker 4: the season.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Yep, I think you're right.
- 39:54Speaker 2: I was wrong.
- 39:56Speaker 3: So yeah, okay.
- 40:01Speaker 4: So now it is Scott at three, myself at four,
- 40:05Speaker 4: and Dan at six. So Rick from Facebook says Discovery
- 40:12Speaker 4: will show up Scott said unlikely myself, and Dan said likely.
- 40:17Speaker 4: If you look in the background when everyone is saved,
- 40:20Speaker 4: Discovery is there.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yep, Okay, I'm going to fight you on this. Discovery
- 40:25Speaker 1: did not show up in the way that this question.
- 40:30Speaker 1: I thought Discovery was going to show up in a
- 40:33Speaker 1: helpful way, in a like s there's Discovery, there's Michael Burnham,
- 40:36Speaker 1: there's you know, Discovery did not show up. It might
- 40:39Speaker 1: have been in the background at the very last scene.
- 40:42Speaker 1: But I think the way this I think Rick from
- 40:44Speaker 1: Facebook meant, and I think anybody else in the chat
- 40:47Speaker 1: will agree with me. Did Discovery did the ship show
- 40:51Speaker 1: up in any meaningful way? Did it?
- 40:53Speaker 2: I'm going to fight you on that. Discovery wasn't there
- 40:57Speaker 2: and then it was. And that's literally showing up, all right?
- 41:03Speaker 3: Why it couldn't show up? They said that my SUL network.
- 41:08Speaker 1: They literally said why it couldn't show up?
- 41:11Speaker 2: And then it did?
- 41:12Speaker 3: And then it did?
- 41:15Speaker 2: All right.
- 41:17Speaker 3: I gotta go with this too, man, Dan's right.
- 41:20Speaker 2: So.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Chat, what do you think? Hmm?
- 41:25Speaker 3: What what are the what are the back lets think
- 41:30Speaker 3: they think that the the Discovery showed up?
- 41:33Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, my alternate pack lead review
- 41:37Speaker 1: was gonna be we missed Discovery.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Okay, wow, that's quite.
- 41:47Speaker 1: The different back leads will fight you too.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Mm hmmm.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Uh.
- 41:52Speaker 4: Jordan does coffee on Instagram said they all graduate and
- 41:55Speaker 4: have long careers.
- 41:56Speaker 3: No one dies. We all said likely. I mean the
- 42:00Speaker 3: Vulcan kid died.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a tough one. Was he a main character.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Though, I mean he was for a few episodes. He
- 42:12Speaker 3: was King Douche of the War College.
- 42:15Speaker 1: He was King Douche of the War College.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, I'm rereading this. They all graduate, well,
- 42:22Speaker 2: none of them graduated the end of the first year,
- 42:25Speaker 2: so I don't know what we were thinking saying ye, likely.
- 42:31Speaker 4: Maybe we just that long term on the show. Yeah,
- 42:33Speaker 4: all the main cast members would probably survive.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. It doesn't matter. We all voted
- 42:40Speaker 2: the same, so it's not gonna effect. It's not gonna
- 42:42Speaker 2: affect the outcome, right.
- 42:44Speaker 3: So yeah, still up in the air. I'll put for that.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 42:54Speaker 4: Next one already from Facebook says he hopes Becky Lynch
- 42:58Speaker 4: does a wrestling move.
- 43:00Speaker 3: We all said likely she did not Second Lynch.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 43:06Speaker 4: She's the she had the bob cut on the on
- 43:10Speaker 4: the Bridge, so that also does not impact our voting.
- 43:15Speaker 1: All right.
- 43:17Speaker 4: James from Facebook says Ben Cisco returns in his corporeal existence.
- 43:21Speaker 3: We all said unlikely, and he did not, So it was.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Nice to you know that. Ben says that the Cisco
- 43:29Speaker 1: episode was nice.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Yeah, it was nice.
- 43:34Speaker 1: From from his jazz album album Jazz album, that was nice.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Touch.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Let me give a recap of where we're at with
- 43:41Speaker 3: the numbers.
- 43:42Speaker 4: So right now Dan is stone the lead with eight,
- 43:45Speaker 4: I'm in second place with six, and Scott has four. Okay,
- 43:51Speaker 4: we intend to watch Slash review season two. Scott said likely,
- 43:58Speaker 4: I said likely. Dan said onlike, so I guess that's
- 44:04Speaker 4: that's where we can we can say, are we gonna
- 44:07Speaker 4: review season two?
- 44:12Speaker 2: I don't want to?
- 44:16Speaker 1: I mean, do I still have a job? Yeah, you guys,
- 44:20Speaker 1: are you guys gonna keep me around? Yeah? Okay, well
- 44:23Speaker 1: then yeah.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I kind of feel like we're going to so.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Already clinched, already clinched this thing, so go ahead, finish up.
- 44:34Speaker 2: You guys might tie for first loser, but you know, yeah, yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 3: And then the last one would we get Big Dilly
- 44:43Speaker 3: or little Little Tilly?
- 44:45Speaker 1: Uh?
- 44:46Speaker 4: Scott and Dan said big? I said medium, and I
- 44:50Speaker 4: kind of think we just got Tilly.
- 44:52Speaker 2: I think you got medium Tilly.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Yeah, he got medium Tilly.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I think yeah she did look good.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Yeah she looked fine.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Yeah yeah.
- 45:02Speaker 4: So okay, So for the final vote, Dan wins with eight.
- 45:08Speaker 4: I had seven and Scott had five, so Dan's a
- 45:11Speaker 4: big winner for the predictions.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Congratulations sir, Congratulations Dan.
- 45:17Speaker 2: I would like to tak I would like to thank Daniel.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I would like to thank Chad. I'd like to thank Scott,
- 45:25Speaker 2: all of the pack leads, my wife for letting me
- 45:30Speaker 2: sit in the basement for an hour every Sunday. Yeah,
- 45:36Speaker 2: that's that's it.
- 45:38Speaker 3: Nice. Nice. Well, that's that's been all the predictions. So
- 45:45Speaker 3: should we uh, should we get into listener feedback because
- 45:48Speaker 3: we got some I know, we got an email. I
- 45:50Speaker 3: don't know Scott if you got the email, but.
- 45:53Speaker 4: We got a voicemail as well, So do it.
- 45:56Speaker 3: All right, listener feedback?
- 46:02Speaker 2: All right?
- 46:04Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's a listener feedback. If you guys want
- 46:06Speaker 4: to join us, X up in the chat. Just put
- 46:08Speaker 4: an X and we'll send you the link so you
- 46:10Speaker 4: can join us on the show. Just make sure you
- 46:12Speaker 4: have an Internet connection and video cameras so we can
- 46:16Speaker 4: see you. But while we're doing that, Scott, do you
- 46:19Speaker 4: want to read the email first or do we want
- 46:21Speaker 4: to do the voicemail?
- 46:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I can read the Yeah, I can go for email.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Let me just bring that up. This is from Duval
- 46:34Speaker 1: Greetiings trek Cast. It's finally over. You guys can breathe
- 46:37Speaker 1: it some. So this is a pretty long email, so
- 46:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna summarize, summarize, So here are some of my
- 46:44Speaker 1: thoughts and musings on episode ten. So just like that
- 46:49Speaker 1: Starfleet Captain Chancellor would, if given any other circumstances, would
- 46:52Speaker 1: just give Caleb and his mom a ship and just
- 46:54Speaker 1: let them go. You know, damn any of the regulations
- 46:59Speaker 1: or protocols. How is she Chancellor and a Starfley captain? Writers,
- 47:02Speaker 1: did you remember about Discovery with any bs excuse why
- 47:05Speaker 1: they can't hop around the minefield? So Nuss is planning
- 47:09Speaker 1: on making his own anti federation with the Blackjack and hookers,
- 47:12Speaker 1: okay wow, and our stormtroopers manning the target stations on
- 47:17Speaker 1: those six Venari raw vessels because that's a whole lot
- 47:20Speaker 1: of misshots at the Athena. And seriously thought for a
- 47:24Speaker 1: second that we were about to get the return of
- 47:26Speaker 1: the Emergency Command hologram. Nope, just a holographic decoy program
- 47:30Speaker 1: that the Doctor made instead. Okay, wait what Yeah, nice
- 47:34Speaker 1: new start Fleet Academy opening that I didn't want to skip.
- 47:38Speaker 1: They should do that from now on, integrating the Starfleet
- 47:40Speaker 1: Academy logo opening at the beginning of the episode. Now,
- 47:43Speaker 1: I really want a Jet Reno lead show. Very much
- 47:46Speaker 1: enjoyed her in Command nus Braca's Veneri Royal News Network
- 47:52Speaker 1: pay per view event definitely was not on my Bingo.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Guard Sunday Sunday.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Also a Star Trek trial episode also not on my
- 48:00Speaker 1: season finale Bengo Cardi either didn't see that coming but
- 48:02Speaker 1: was inevitable. Wait was, he says, Wait, was Nustsbraka right
- 48:07Speaker 1: all along? So you're telling me doctor had a stabilization
- 48:12Speaker 1: solution for the Omega seventy forty seven particle this whole
- 48:15Speaker 1: time and did to give it to Starfleet over these
- 48:16Speaker 1: hundreds of years. I'm sorry, what glue on my glue
- 48:20Speaker 1: on my shoe? My ass. Caleb is like, Beta Max,
- 48:25Speaker 1: you have a gift. Yeah, Betamax, you've got it. Uh,
- 48:34Speaker 1: this is in music parentheses. You've got the touch. You've
- 48:37Speaker 1: got the power touch. The USS Athena sare looks pretty
- 48:43Speaker 1: pristine after being damaged so badly. Also, damn Athena hitting
- 48:47Speaker 1: those vight clouds pretty hard. That's another thing that I
- 48:51Speaker 1: wanted to get into about the Athena, Like the the
- 48:55Speaker 1: thing that's not the ship, that's the that's the the wing. Yeah,
- 49:01Speaker 1: that's like the campus right. I guess I don't know
- 49:06Speaker 1: what it is because when they left it behind, they
- 49:08Speaker 1: were like, oh, we can't leave leave that. I thought
- 49:11Speaker 1: that was the warp capable part of the ship, but
- 49:13Speaker 1: I guess that was wrong.
- 49:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Yeah, rousing Starfleet Academy speech. Check villain hates it. Check. Oops,
- 49:21Speaker 1: it's daddy's fault. Oh uh oh, Braca, someone has some
- 49:24Speaker 1: serious daddy issues. Yeah. That that the whole thing now
- 49:28Speaker 1: makes okay? Incoming ships is the Federation and boy are
- 49:34Speaker 1: they pissed. Would have been a perfect way to end
- 49:36Speaker 1: that line. All the mom's made up happy endings for everyone.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Still hate the New Future ship designs. Yeah, I'm not
- 49:43Speaker 1: a big fan of the Future. The only one I
- 49:45Speaker 1: did recognize Voyager the New Future.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Oh so you did see it when it showed up?
- 49:51Speaker 1: Voyager? Yeah? Oh, boy, we can't I recognize Voyager because
- 49:54Speaker 1: they have a The thirty first century has a USS
- 49:58Speaker 1: Voyager right right, and it's sort of like the old Voyager.
- 50:01Speaker 1: I did recognize that, like.
- 50:02Speaker 2: An inverted spoon.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Yes soon, and he finishes by saying, overall, season one
- 50:11Speaker 1: was met. It was Meca Boom boom section thirty one bad.
- 50:15Speaker 1: It had its moments. Honestly should have been called Starfleet
- 50:17Speaker 1: Prep with all the juvenile shenanigans going on, which made
- 50:20Speaker 1: more sense than they were prepping for actual Starfield Academy.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Do we really need season two? Who would be the
- 50:26Speaker 1: big bad for that? My thought would be guessing the
- 50:29Speaker 1: Talaxian fur fly escapes and teams up with war college
- 50:32Speaker 1: romulant chick who left the college because their bff died
- 50:35Speaker 1: and aims destroy the academy, blaming them for all for
- 50:38Speaker 1: his death. Or we get the evil version of Sam
- 50:40Speaker 1: that wants to destroy all corporeal beings and the right
- 50:43Speaker 1: there covers your evil AI computer storyline that what we've
- 50:47Speaker 1: been missing can't wait for season two? I'm sorry, I
- 50:50Speaker 1: can't say that with a straight face until Strange New
- 50:53Speaker 1: World's returns. Duval the glue in the Shoe your Trek
- 50:56Speaker 1: cast New York City freelance correspondent.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Evil Sam. Yes, Sam needs a lore that's what she needs.
- 51:08Speaker 3: That would be hilarious.
- 51:09Speaker 2: She needs what's her name, serious acclamation. She needs like
- 51:12Speaker 2: a serious assassination.
- 51:14Speaker 1: So like the car.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, yes, I would love.
- 51:21Speaker 1: And if you understood that reference, it's time for your
- 51:23Speaker 1: colony and they got to get Peter Peter Colin to
- 51:27Speaker 1: voice it. Yes, oh boy.
- 51:33Speaker 2: And if you understand that, you get to right.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Would you have the same actress play Evil Sam or
- 51:39Speaker 3: would you get somebody else, like a trial version.
- 51:44Speaker 2: No, it would be it would be her, but her
- 51:47Speaker 2: hair would be.
- 51:47Speaker 3: Different, that's all, you know, you know what.
- 51:50Speaker 1: It would be.
- 51:52Speaker 2: No, it would be whatever the actress showed up wearing
- 51:54Speaker 2: that day, So she would have her nose ring in,
- 51:57Speaker 2: she'd have her crazy make whatever crazy hair she's got
- 52:00Speaker 2: going on, because if you see behind the scenes, yeah,
- 52:06Speaker 2: she does some interesting things.
- 52:09Speaker 3: That'd be hilarious. Man, I kind of want an Evil
- 52:12Speaker 3: Sam now, I think that'd before. I bet we would
- 52:16Speaker 3: all love Evil Sam because like Evil Sam would be
- 52:18Speaker 3: like medicine.
- 52:19Speaker 2: And so here's the thing. Okay, so again, the best
- 52:23Speaker 2: episodes are written like this. People sitting around a table bullshitting.
- 52:28Speaker 2: How would you come up with an evil Sam? I'll
- 52:31Speaker 2: tell you how you come up with an evil sam U.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Evil Sam is when they copied her program into the
- 52:38Speaker 2: server on cask before before they gave her a new life, okay,
- 52:45Speaker 2: and then she or a childhood, and then after that
- 52:48Speaker 2: childhood they re merged those programs together, so she has
- 52:53Speaker 2: both memories. Right, Evil Sam. Evil Sam is the copy
- 52:57Speaker 2: of her that went to the filing cabinet on the
- 53:00Speaker 2: computer and got deleted. But it didn't get deleted for
- 53:04Speaker 2: whatever techno battle reason. It didn't get deleted, okay, and
- 53:09Speaker 2: then it learned about what happens. It feels discarded and
- 53:13Speaker 2: it has seventeen years of feeling like it was thrown away,
- 53:17Speaker 2: and that's why it's evil.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Boom love it. That's perfect.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Yeah a father?
- 53:27Speaker 2: Yes? Why didn't? Yes? Why didn't I get a childhood?
- 53:30Speaker 2: You got a childhood. It's the same same story with
- 53:33Speaker 2: lor you gotta you got an emotion ship, you got this,
- 53:36Speaker 2: you got that. I got turned off and thrown away.
- 53:39Speaker 3: Oh man, we're not going to get this at all.
- 53:41Speaker 3: It's too good.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Yeah it is.
- 53:44Speaker 4: It's too good, but we're not going to get it. Yeah,
- 53:47Speaker 4: but what we are going to get is we got
- 53:50Speaker 4: another voice by.
- 53:50Speaker 2: All from love these yep.
- 53:55Speaker 1: That.
- 53:56Speaker 3: So here we go, pank fans.
- 53:58Speaker 7: This is Tim from the shore by sea and keeping
- 54:01Speaker 7: the volume down because my family are upstairs. And as
- 54:06Speaker 7: much as I'd love to join you this week live
- 54:09Speaker 7: as it sues, as it says, I can't make it
- 54:12Speaker 7: because it's Mother's Day and I'm on duties. So yeah,
- 54:19Speaker 7: glad the show's over hated it. Although there were certain
- 54:23Speaker 7: bits I liked. Towards the end, I quite like the
- 54:25Speaker 7: old soft girly stuff, you know, Oh look a monologue
- 54:30Speaker 7: going on and everybody's smiling and slow motion moving towards
- 54:34Speaker 7: the camera and everybody's friends. As much as I wanted
- 54:38Speaker 7: to hate that, I was, you know, it was quite nice.
- 54:41Speaker 7: But on the whole the show is not very good,
- 54:43Speaker 7: is it. I started watching Babylon five this week. I've
- 54:48Speaker 7: never seen it before. I've never been able to get
- 54:50Speaker 7: a hold of it and watch it on my TV.
- 54:52Speaker 7: I've alway been able to download it and watch it
- 54:53Speaker 7: on the computer, but I wanted to sit back experience,
- 54:56Speaker 7: so I'm only about four episodes five episodes in. I'm
- 55:00Speaker 7: really enjoying it. So that's a nice a pair of
- 55:05Speaker 7: tiff to this awful show that calls itself Star Trek.
- 55:11Speaker 7: So with that, I'll keep it short and sweet. Look
- 55:13Speaker 7: forward to next week's show despite whatever you're talking about,
- 55:18Speaker 7: probably Star Trek. Probably hope you're feeling better, Daniel, and
- 55:23Speaker 7: love to everyone, take care, peace out boys.
- 55:28Speaker 4: Yeah, and if you want to leave us a voicemail,
- 55:30Speaker 4: you can at five seven zero six six one zero
- 55:33Speaker 4: zero zero one. Just leave us voicemail and we'll be
- 55:37Speaker 4: happy to play it.
- 55:40Speaker 2: So have you guys ever watched Babylon five?
- 55:43Speaker 1: No? No, he hated this series so much he watched Babylon.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Five whole nother show.
- 55:49Speaker 2: So Babylon five is one of those like I remember
- 55:52Speaker 2: watching one or two episodes when it first came out,
- 55:56Speaker 2: and it was one of those things where I think
- 55:58Speaker 2: it was on Saturday noons where I lived, so it
- 56:02Speaker 2: was just not something that it was easy to uh
- 56:09Speaker 2: to watch. But it's one of those shows that's always
- 56:11Speaker 2: been in the back of my head. Hey, you know, someday,
- 56:15Speaker 2: someday I'm gonna go back and watch that. Yea, So
- 56:19Speaker 2: maybe like a cheese pizza, that'll be my balance power
- 56:23Speaker 2: my my post star check.
- 56:27Speaker 4: Yeah, might might need to be Yeah, all right, Uh
- 56:32Speaker 4: well he's been patiently waiting.
- 56:33Speaker 3: We got Chasmin's on the line, so let's let's get
- 56:36Speaker 3: to him next. So let me bring him on. Jasmin,
- 56:39Speaker 3: is there? You are okay back in the celestial temple?
- 56:44Speaker 5: Yes, I have to pee, guys, so.
- 56:48Speaker 3: You're in command.
- 56:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I finally made it. Yeah, the condition has hit
- 56:53Speaker 5: me too much to pizza?
- 56:57Speaker 2: Are you lactose?
- 56:58Speaker 5: And yes, it went right through me, guys.
- 57:04Speaker 3: So what did you think? Did you like the episode?
- 57:06Speaker 3: Did you not?
- 57:08Speaker 5: I watched it once and that was it. Yeah, and
- 57:15Speaker 5: I was like, Wow, they're gonna have like some shooty
- 57:17Speaker 5: shooty bang bangs at the end. It's gonna be pretty cool.
- 57:19Speaker 5: And it was just kind of let's do a trial.
- 57:23Speaker 5: And I was like, oh okay, yeah, and she whole
- 57:28Speaker 5: like pissed the whole episode and that was kind of it.
- 57:33Speaker 5: And then you know, what's it? What's Apologiamani's name?
- 57:37Speaker 1: Something?
- 57:38Speaker 5: Braca news Braka. Like the way he finds out that
- 57:44Speaker 5: he was in the wrong was was the color of
- 57:48Speaker 5: the flame?
- 57:49Speaker 1: Right? Yeah?
- 57:51Speaker 5: Yes, she's like Starfleet's flame burns blue and red and
- 57:55Speaker 5: this one burnt like a different color like indigo.
- 57:58Speaker 4: So which honestly, you could have had that be like
- 58:03Speaker 4: when they're in class, they could mention the colors.
- 58:06Speaker 3: Yeah, so you could have teased.
- 58:07Speaker 1: That, right, because that was out of left field. That
- 58:10Speaker 1: should have been yes, a class, yeah, kind of lesson that.
- 58:15Speaker 3: The whole season in advance, Well.
- 58:16Speaker 5: The kids are on vacation more than they were in class.
- 58:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:22Speaker 5: And that's the issue with the series is maybe the
- 58:26Speaker 5: first fifteen minutes it should have been a little portion
- 58:29Speaker 5: of the class. Then they go out and do their
- 58:31Speaker 5: things right, you know, and the episode continues.
- 58:35Speaker 2: They should have had like whatever they're learning about that
- 58:39Speaker 2: week has something to do with like have the class
- 58:44Speaker 2: the class instruction be the B or the C story.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Well, we'll see.
- 58:48Speaker 5: That's what Harry Potter is about. It's like they'll old
- 58:51Speaker 5: you'll learn something throughout the season and then they'll use
- 58:53Speaker 5: it at the end of the movie.
- 58:55Speaker 4: Right yeah, right, that's called foreshadowing and radio.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Yeah it's.
- 59:02Speaker 5: Yes, you pant the seeds and then they grow and
- 59:05Speaker 5: you're like.
- 59:05Speaker 8: Oh look, yeah that sorry, look the story or like
- 59:10Speaker 8: you know, when they did the whole episode about we're
- 59:13Speaker 8: gonna learn to shoot and do laser tag and maybe
- 59:16Speaker 8: you could have used that at the end of the
- 59:18Speaker 8: series where they need to take out some guards.
- 59:20Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 59:21Speaker 5: Yes, And you know, she's a hologram, so like all
- 59:24Speaker 5: these cool things you can do. Yeah, like Sam's awesome,
- 59:27Speaker 5: she can like phase through stuff and.
- 59:31Speaker 2: That, and I mean they stole the whole thing from
- 59:33Speaker 2: g I Joe. Everyone knows g I Joe has red lasers.
- 59:36Speaker 2: Cobra has blue lasers. And that's how you know, everyone
- 59:41Speaker 2: knows that.
- 59:42Speaker 5: Everyone and g I Joe and Cobra it's somehow always
- 59:45Speaker 5: miss like everybody. It's a robot. They're you know, dead
- 59:50Speaker 5: to rights on the road.
- 59:51Speaker 2: But knowing knowing us half the battle. The other half
- 59:54Speaker 2: is red and blue lasers.
- 59:55Speaker 5: Everyone else that kids eat your combatges.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, we haven't seen her. Well, I.
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: Think she died.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: She's under observation. It's it's gonna take seventy two hours
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: to pass the combatge. Yep.
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: When they escorted her from the bridge after she saw
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: somebody die, they never they never mentioned her again. I
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: thought this should have said.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: They walked her right through the unemployment line.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Right, they should have said she washed out or something
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: or but no, because they made such a big deal
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: of her having issues, and then they never explained her leaving.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, uh Nog saw combat and we got
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: one of the greatest episodes absolutely of Deep Space nine
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: in response to it. Yeah, this was a joke with her. Yep.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: You know, with that girl, you would think they would
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: have put her in the trauma bonding class. I mean,
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: she's the one who like a hard.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Time with it.
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: Yes, yes, in the play or whatever, yeah.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Hud, I mean yeah, they could have. I like to
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: send messages. They could have sent a message of her
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: either learning to cope with it or sending the message
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: not everybody's cut out for this.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Yeah, either way.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: Would you guys do Michael Burnham just appeared at the
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: end and like shot New Broca or whatever news Bronca.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I would have loved to have seen Dan's reaction to it.
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: I love love that that. I would just see the
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: Of course they did, you know.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: I at this point I would have been like, yeah, fine, whatever.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: I thought they were going to show up. I thought
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: for sure that Ye Discovery was going to show up
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: at the end to to help out.
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: But if Book would have shown up and used his
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: Jedi powers, you know, and just like taught him like
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: let's all be cool.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Yeah, he just shows up with a gun and says, bitch,
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: be cool.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: I thought for sure that we were going to have
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: like a Burnham renal, you know, like, oh, it's nice
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: for you to show up blah blah blah blah blah,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: real quick bridge bridge to bridge scene kind of thing.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think they want to take away from
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: this show and these characters.
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: Yeah, what was your okay? Starship designs at the end,
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: that's like office supplies.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: I don't like.
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: Yeah, hand openers and like like somebody opened up a
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: drawer and it's like.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: They don't look anymore. They just.
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: Yeah, this is like the future. Like man, that's like
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: there's there's so many cool ship designs like I've seen
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: people do, and it's like this is just kind of yeah.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: And I really hate the detachable missile thing.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: Oh I don't like it either.
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: Well, you can't sell the toys because they're detachable. That's
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: that's the dumbest thing, right.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: It was like you can't sell the Lego, you can't
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: sell any of the other toys because it's a detachable
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: in the cell. I was like, idiots if you want
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: to sell stuff. You know, there's there's like people that
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: buy ships, you know, and collect them and they like
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: the models, and you know there's the market there.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: So yep, yep, yep.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: But Babylon five, guys, Babylon five, I might.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: Have to take Babylon and have five guys.
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: Yeah, that would be funny. Babylon five, five guys.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: The crossover we didn't know we needed.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: I've never seen. Babylon five.
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: Is good, very good. Okay. The first season is a
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: little rough, right, it's a little Okay, you have to
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: like once you get to the characters, it's like that
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: second season and they get into this war, it gets
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: crazier and it's like it's almost like the Dominion War. Right,
- 1:04:09Speaker 5: they get into and it's like it has you hooked.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: But Babylon fine. They ripped off t S nine, right.
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: No, d S nine kind of ripped off. Yeah, And
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: it's one of those things. It's it was had a
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: lower budget than Star Trek and that you know, and
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: it shows, but it's the writing pays for it.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, yeah, I may have to watch it because
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: I'm gonna.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: Need a pal From what I remember, the effects are
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: very nineties CGI.
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: Yeah, bad, bad, bad bad CG. But the character development
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: is great.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: So, I mean my my palate cleanser was going to
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: be Bluey.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: But you know, well, I thought it was Masters of
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: the Universe that too.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: We're going to watch that and we're going to review
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: that on the show sometime soon.
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: Oh for sure, we have to because the movie's coming
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: out in the beginning of June. Okay, it's got to
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: be quick.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: When does Stranger World start?
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: We don't know yet at some point this year.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: I thought that I would imagine towards the end of
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: the year.
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: It depends on Papa Ellison and how much it's going
- 1:05:21Speaker 5: to get this done.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: I thought it was this spring. I thought we had
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: I thought we only had a few weeks until.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: No, I don't think so.
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: Oh if they would, I would have had a preview
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: after the end of the show.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's all.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: It's cute that you think. I keep watching after it
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: fades the black.
- 1:05:42Speaker 5: He saw the pictures of the kids like turn that
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: shit off. Yeah, I just says young.
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: It just says sometime twenty twenty six that people are
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: guessing late summer, but we don't know for sure.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Oh, all right, I thought it was the spring. Yeah,
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: I know. Oh all right, so we're gonna have to
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: figure some stuff out.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we got time.
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: I was already thinking about shows that we can do, Like,
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: now that we've seen all the Kurtzman series, can we
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: rank them?
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: What's good? What's bad?
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: And yeah?
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: I mean Scouts will be number one of course. Well yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: but he's got a lot of series to ring lower decks.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: Prodigy.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: I went to watch finish Prodigy. I can't watch Prodigy
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: right now.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: It's not Yeah, it's gone gone, It's completely gone.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: And how do we how do we how do we
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: duplicate that? How do we harness that gone? Noess and
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: project it projected elsewhere?
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: How do you multiply it?
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: Yeah? Well both says you've got time to watch and
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: review Babble on five. I mean we do.
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: It's good.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: What's uh? What's it? What's it available on anything?
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: But I don't know if it's you know, on the IMDb.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Okay, it looks like it's free on the Ruku channel boom.
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: So yeah, right, okay, because I watched that about six
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: years ago. Man, I was one away. I was like,
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: this is a really good show. It's funny. I have
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: a nine on there on my IMDb and it's like, okay,
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: so I liked it, so.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: I will to check.
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: But like I said, that first season's kind of it's
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: if he they bring in a new captain. They actually
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: bring in the guy that played Tron as the new
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: captain for the second season.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: One thing I remember reading about the show is that
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: is it J Michael Straczynski is that wrote the whole thing? Okay,
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: so he had he had the show planned out from
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: the beginning, but every character he also wrote an escape patch.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: So if this character needs to leave the show, this
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: is how it's gonna happen. This character needs to leave
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: the show, this is how it's gonna happen. So I
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: don't know who left the show, but I know there
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: were some some changes along the way, so it's probably
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: good that he had those planned mm hmm, all right,
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: I don't have an escape patch. When I leave Trek,
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: cast's just gonna be a it's gonna be a blank square.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: In the there you go in the corner. There you got.
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: It's like Scott WHI just silenced me from this ship.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: That's like, you may not have a plan for your escape,
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: but I.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: Do this, this is what they'll be in my place.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right, like like on netflike.
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: Y, that's even where.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: M all right, are we gonna have a show next
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: week or not? Are we gonna take a break.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: I think we should take a take a week off
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: and and figure out what we're gonna do.
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, that's a probably a good idea. So yeah,
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: so we'll take next week off and then we'll come back.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: She's pizza week.
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: Yeah, Italian pizza pretty good? So what did you say
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: Italian pizza? Like the actual Italian?
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: Is there a different kind of pizza? It's like saying
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: Mexican taco.
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: It's funny. It's like when I went to Rome, it
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: was in squares so.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Around.
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: That's kind of weird.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: So they had Detrade style in room.
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, no pizza that's that's almost like a thicker crust.
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: It wasn't a spready, you should have told him that
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: this is just like Dedroit.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: So, Daniel, which which do you prefer a Mexican taco
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: or a Los Angeles taco?
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: Oh that's a good question, being that Los Angeles used
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: to be Mexico. You know, I would have to go
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: with Santa.
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: Fe tacos, okay, not tex Mex or anything.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: Last night, we had a family gathering and we were
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: explaining to the kids that there's a type of taco
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: called lingua which is made of cow tongue.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: Oh it's good, it's very good. It's very very good.
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: But the kids you should have seen them when they
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: realized you're eating what.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: But you gotta tell them, you know, you say the taco,
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: says m Everyone's happy.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: That's right, Yeah, actually really good.
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: It's very tender.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: So yeah, well they've had manula before and that's got
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: tripe in it, which is cowo stomach.
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: So and they're like that. So they're like, oh, okay,
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: well maybe linguos and so bad.
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: I think I had the tongue than the tripe. I
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: don't know.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, they're both pretty good.
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: Well, I see the tongue to I go the grocery stories.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: All right, I'm starving now.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: Okay, Well, based on what we're talking about now, I
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: think I think trek Cast is pretty much over.
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: Yeah, we're done Talkers and Pizza.
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: A food Cast two at this point.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, well we'll get you guys in a week.
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: You guys later.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Two weeks, two weeks, two weeks.
