- 0:00Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Mark Simone?
- 0:03Speaker 2: Three!
- 0:04Speaker 3: More Mark.
- 0:05Speaker 4: The Mark Simone Show.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 0:08Speaker 2: 710WOR.
- 0:09Speaker 4: Hey, we'll take some calls.
- 0:10Speaker 2: 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Call me now.
- 0:13Speaker 2: 800-321-0710. Ukraine, Russia.
- 0:13Speaker 4: Well, remember we had that agreement. We agreed not to
- 0:15Speaker 4: strike each other's... energy facility. Well, apparently the agreement is
- 0:32Speaker 4: totally off. Russia hit a power plant. But it was
- 0:36Speaker 4: really the oil facilities we didn't want to hit because
- 0:38Speaker 4: that is what's driven up the price of diesel oil.
- 0:42Speaker 4: But Ukraine not listening at all. They hit an oil
- 0:46Speaker 4: refinery in Russia. Strike on that. Let me just check
- 0:51Speaker 4: the price of oil. It's probably up a little because
- 0:53Speaker 4: of that strike. Yeah, it's up a little because they
- 0:56Speaker 4: did knock out. Every time you knock out a Oil
- 0:59Speaker 4: facility refinery in Russia. It's going to drive the price
- 1:01Speaker 4: of diesel up. President Trump has asked them to stop. Apparently,
- 1:06Speaker 4: they're not listening. Anyway, let's take some calls. Let's go
- 1:10Speaker 4: to Margaret in Rockaway. Margaret, how are you doing?
- 1:14Speaker 3: Morning, Mark. Thank you for taking my call. Regarding El-Said,
- 1:19Speaker 3: you know, you forget the Quran says that you're allowed
- 1:21Speaker 3: to lie to infidels. So he could just keep going
- 1:25Speaker 3: on saying he doesn't know anything and yada.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yada, yada.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Well, it's perfectly believable. I don't know my sister. I
- 1:31Speaker 4: never met my mother. It sounds like a believable story.
- 1:35Speaker 4: I hardly knew her. I think I met my sister once.
- 1:38Speaker 4: But it's the fake news. They believe everything. They won't
- 1:42Speaker 4: question him. Thanks for calling. Let's go to Greg in
- 1:47Speaker 4: Jersey City. Greg, how are you doing?
- 1:51Speaker 5: All right. Did you see that CNN interview with the Democratic...
- 1:57Speaker 5: candidate for Senate in Florida, Angie Nixon, who wants to jail.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Do you think my life is that empty that I
- 2:04Speaker 4: would be watching a CNN interview with Angie Nixon? Nobody
- 2:08Speaker 4: saw it. It was on CNN. Who would have seen it?
- 2:10Speaker 4: How did you see it?
- 2:12Speaker 5: Well, because I saw Chris Murphy, this Connecticut was with
- 2:15Speaker 5: her in the interview.
- 2:18Speaker 4: And when she said, and like, I gotta be honest,
- 2:21Speaker 4: if I'm watching the TV and there's Chris Murphy, I
- 2:23Speaker 4: immediately change the channel. If I'm walking down the street
- 2:25Speaker 4: and there's Chris Murphy, I turn and go the other way.
- 2:28Speaker 4: He's the most reprehensible, repulsive character in the world. So
- 2:34Speaker 4: what did she say, Angie Nixon?
- 2:37Speaker 5: Oh, no, I mean, you know, the CNN was trying
- 2:39Speaker 5: to press her on some of her statements about, you know,
- 2:43Speaker 5: abolishing prisons, you know, abolishing ICE. And, you know, she said,
- 2:46Speaker 5: you know, Ashley Moody should be put in jail for
- 2:50Speaker 5: what she said. I mean, there's no follow-up, obviously, but
- 2:55Speaker 5: I can't believe that the DNC is even giving her
- 3:01Speaker 5: any more support.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Well, yeah, they got one crazy character after another, from
- 3:05Speaker 4: Al Sayad to this nut job in Texas to the
- 3:10Speaker 4: one in Florida. They always nominate these nuts. And again,
- 3:13Speaker 4: it might be CNN. But they ask the question, pretend
- 3:17Speaker 4: they've gotten an answer. She doesn't answer. They just say
- 3:21Speaker 4: no follow-up, and that's the end of it. Let's go
- 3:24Speaker 4: to Ralph in Stanford, Connecticut. Ralph, how are you doing?
- 3:28Speaker 1: Doing fine. Good morning. You were talking about the horses
- 3:32Speaker 1: in Central Park and how they're thinking of getting rid
- 3:36Speaker 1: of them.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Well, they are getting rid of them.
- 3:38Speaker 1: They put NYPD Mounted Police Organization... as supervisors of the
- 3:44Speaker 1: care and feeding of these animals.
- 3:46Speaker 4: The NYPD mounted police. It's a top part of the NYPD.
- 3:50Speaker 4: They've got better things to do than chase these crazy
- 3:54Speaker 4: horse carriage drivers around. It's not that big a problem.
- 3:58Speaker 4: I think you should limit it. Don't allow them outside
- 4:00Speaker 4: the park. They have to stay in the park. Don't
- 4:03Speaker 4: allow them anywhere else. They should never be out in
- 4:06Speaker 4: the street where there's traffic. It's that simple. You can
- 4:09Speaker 4: gradually reduce the number. But let me just give you
- 4:13Speaker 4: those statistics again. As far as the horses and the carriage,
- 4:18Speaker 4: it's led to one death in 100 years. One death
- 4:23Speaker 4: in 100 years. The e-bikes, 133 deaths in the last
- 4:29Speaker 4: seven years. With the e-bikes, it's almost 20 deaths a
- 4:32Speaker 4: year every year. The horse and carriage, one death per century.
- 4:38Speaker 4: So it's really the e-bikes they should probably get rid of.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Let's go to Stan in Brooklyn. Stan, how are you doing?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark. I'm doing fine. I googled the term
- 4:48Speaker 2: lawyer and attorney.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Wow, you've got a computer now. Look at you.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Oh, my God. It's an old one. It's an IBM 1401.
- 4:56Speaker 2: It goes rather slow.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Well, we're not looking for amateur Googling to get our answers.
- 5:01Speaker 4: It doesn't work that way. It doesn't work that way.
- 5:03Speaker 4: A lawyer graduated from law school but cannot practice in court. Yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 4: we don't go by Google.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Okay, well, I also looked another place.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no, no, no. We would only turn to
- 5:15Speaker 4: a professional for this answer. And the answer is she
- 5:17Speaker 4: probably shouldn't call herself a lawyer. You can do it technically,
- 5:20Speaker 4: but you should probably.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Well, apparently a lawyer cannot.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Yeah, we understand that. You can't go into court unless
- 5:27Speaker 4: you pass the bar. And as I said before, she
- 5:30Speaker 4: was in a law firm doing complicated legal work on contracts,
- 5:34Speaker 4: which you can do with a law degree. But in
- 5:38Speaker 4: the end, a barred attorney, someone who's passed the bar,
- 5:41Speaker 4: has to kind of sign off on the whole thing.
- 5:44Speaker 4: But the problem is, try to make this look like
- 5:48Speaker 4: this is some kind of relevant issue to something. She's
- 5:50Speaker 4: not being nominated for attorney general. If you check the record,
- 5:55Speaker 4: no press secretary has ever passed the bar. I don't
- 5:59Speaker 4: think most of 99% of press secretaries have never passed
- 6:03Speaker 4: the bar. It has nothing to do with the job.
- 6:06Speaker 4: It's not a requirement. Now, she was kind of misleading
- 6:10Speaker 4: when she said she was a lawyer, but you could
- 6:13Speaker 4: argue not that misleading. She did work in law firms
- 6:16Speaker 4: doing legal work and she does have a law degree. So,
- 6:19Speaker 4: and as I pointed out, there are judges on the
- 6:21Speaker 4: bench who, who've been confirmed by the Senate.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Who.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Did go to law school, graduated with a law degree,
- 6:29Speaker 4: but have never passed the bar. So it's a silly issue.
- 6:33Speaker 4: It has nothing to do with anything. And in fact,
- 6:35Speaker 4: if that's all they got on her, a little puffing
- 6:39Speaker 4: up the resume a little, that's absolutely nothing. Again, you
- 6:42Speaker 4: don't need a law degree. You don't need to be
- 6:45Speaker 4: a pass the bar. You don't need to be an attorney.
- 6:48Speaker 4: In fact, it is never a requirement for press secretaries.
- 6:52Speaker 4: It's not at all. Hey, I'm looking at pictures around
- 6:56Speaker 4: the White House. The ballroom is going up. I don't
- 6:59Speaker 4: know if you've noticed, but the floor is in and
- 7:03Speaker 4: some of the walls are going up. You can see,
- 7:05Speaker 4: if you look, you can sort of see what the
- 7:07Speaker 4: ballroom's looking like, the size, everything. It's well under construction.
- 7:11Speaker 4: You know, this is President Trump, master builder. If this
- 7:14Speaker 4: was the government, this would be a 20-year project to
- 7:16Speaker 4: get this built. He said he'll get it done in months.
- 7:19Speaker 4: It looks like he will. Looks like he will. It's
- 7:22Speaker 4: only a couple of months and a lot of it
- 7:23Speaker 4: has gone up already. They've raised about $ 333 million from
- 7:29Speaker 4: private donors. Apple gave $ 25 million. NVIDIA gave $ 25 million.
- 7:36Speaker 4: The Adelson family, the Las Vegas billionaires, a big donation. Yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 4: $ 25 million. Charles Egan, co-founder of, chairman of the Dish Network,
- 7:47Speaker 4: gave $ 25 million. They got 77 million from donors who
- 7:51Speaker 4: requested anonymously, anonymity. A vast majority of wealthy individuals and companies. Oh, here, see,
- 8:00Speaker 4: they're trying to make it look bad. Most of these
- 8:02Speaker 4: donors have interests subject to the federal government raising concerns
- 8:06Speaker 4: about conflict of interest. This is the way the fake
- 8:09Speaker 4: news reports it. Of course, that's every donor to everything.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Every donation ever made to every politician, every president, every Democrat.
- 8:17Speaker 4: You take a look at them. Most of them are
- 8:19Speaker 4: people who are regulated by the federal government. I mean,
- 8:22Speaker 4: it's insane to think that, first of all, it's a
- 8:25Speaker 4: good donation. If you're donating to a candidate, a campaign,
- 8:28Speaker 4: a political package, that's a little raunchy. But if you're
- 8:33Speaker 4: donating money to build a beautiful addition to the White House,
- 8:37Speaker 4: that's like a national treasure, something that'll be there forever.
- 8:40Speaker 4: That's a good donation. You know, if you're donating to
- 8:43Speaker 4: restore the Washington Monument or Oh, this ballroom would be magnificent.
- 8:46Speaker 4: You know, President Trump probably will never use it because
- 8:50Speaker 4: the full completion decor, everything probably won't take place till
- 8:54Speaker 4: he's out of office. But future presidents will love it.
- 8:57Speaker 4: It'll be an incredible thing for centuries. So it's a
- 9:01Speaker 4: good donation. Hey, we got a lot to get to
- 9:04Speaker 4: this morning. And don't forget, it's three hours now, nine
- 9:06Speaker 4: to noon every day, nine to noon. And don't forget
- 9:10Speaker 4: at noon, it's Buck and Clay. You get two hosts
- 9:12Speaker 4: for the price of one. Then at 3 o'clock, Sean Hannity,
- 9:16Speaker 4: the most listened to radio show in America. Jesse Kelly
- 9:20Speaker 4: at 6, the very funny. Jimmy Fail is on every
- 9:22Speaker 4: night at 9 on 710WOR.
