- 0:00Speaker 1: You know where I live. It's as though the neighbors
- 0:04Speaker 1: get together and they go, hey man, you canna use
- 0:07Speaker 1: your power tools today? Uh no, No, I'm gonna just
- 0:09Speaker 1: hope for some quiet. All right, I'm gonna use all
- 0:11Speaker 1: of mine, all right. She's them at the same time.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Hey man, what day do you does your gardener come
- 0:17Speaker 1: with the leaf floor? Monday? Oh cool, I'll make sure
- 0:20Speaker 1: mine comes Tuesday. Next her namber. You want to do Wednesday? Yeah,
- 0:24Speaker 1: I'll take Thursday. Classic.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yo.
- 0:29Speaker 3: My wife is so dope. She got it so that
- 0:31Speaker 3: the whole block uses our gardeners. We moved into the neighborhood,
- 0:35Speaker 3: and now everybody uses our gardeners except for one neighbor.
- 0:40Speaker 3: There's that one neighbor.
- 0:41Speaker 1: That's so they bang it out in one day, is
- 0:43Speaker 1: what you're saying.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Most most of the stuff here is done in one day.
- 0:47Speaker 1: My neighborhood is like, which power tool is it going
- 0:49Speaker 1: to be? And how close is it going to be?
- 0:53Speaker 1: We have so much to talk about. I don't even
- 0:54Speaker 1: know how to begin with you.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Well, let's start from the beginning, Okay.
- 0:58Speaker 1: We got to kind of do like a power cycle
- 1:00Speaker 1: through okay, Jake Paul, Mike Tyson Oh, that's tomorrow. That's right,
- 1:06Speaker 1: tomorrow night, Donald. I feel like we should watch it.
- 1:08Speaker 1: It's gonna be a big time fight.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Yes, this is probably this is probably the biggest fight
- 1:17Speaker 3: that is shouldn't be that shouldn't be the biggest fight
- 1:20Speaker 3: in boxing history. Let's keep it one hundred.
- 1:23Speaker 1: But I feel like, you know what Jake Paul did
- 1:25Speaker 1: that's so brilliant? Is he? I just realized this today.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I was talking to my brother. It's kind of like
- 1:31Speaker 1: he brought the WWE villain to boxing.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Yes, and it was needed because boxing was failing and
- 1:38Speaker 3: UFC was taking over. And Jake Paul is proven. This
- 1:42Speaker 3: is this is fact. You can get paid more on
- 1:46Speaker 3: his card than you can on a UFC card.
- 1:49Speaker 1: But I don't know anything about this guy other than
- 1:51Speaker 1: my body wants to dislike him, and I think that
- 1:54Speaker 1: it's like it's WWE villain energy.
- 1:58Speaker 3: I don't think this. I don't think this the heel.
- 2:00Speaker 1: He don't.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I don't think this dude's as big of an asshole
- 2:03Speaker 3: as he is.
- 2:05Speaker 1: It has to be, it has to be a character.
- 2:06Speaker 3: It is a character. And he and his.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Daniel squinting as though he doesn't believe.
- 2:11Speaker 3: It because because Daniel can't take the fact that this
- 2:13Speaker 3: dude is getting mad freaking money playing the villain. I
- 2:19Speaker 3: think that's what that is. Daniel hates some of his
- 2:22Speaker 3: hates his policies. They don't I told.
- 2:27Speaker 1: You no, he he I don't only I honestly don't
- 2:29Speaker 1: know much about him, but every time I see him,
- 2:31Speaker 1: I find him annoying and ill. Yeah, go ahead, I'm
- 2:35Speaker 1: assuming rights. That's his name, Jake Paul, and then uh,
- 2:38Speaker 1: and then I and then I watched the w W E.
- 2:41Speaker 1: The documentary about what's his name, the founder of Yes.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I watched the Vince McMahon documentary, which is great, I
- 2:48Speaker 1: recommend it, and I went, oh, this is what he's doing.
- 2:50Speaker 1: He's playing the heel, horrible jerk, but in boxing. Yeah,
- 2:56Speaker 1: and he can make a zillion dollars off of it.
- 2:58Speaker 3: He's going to make more money than Mike Tyson's gonna
- 3:01Speaker 3: make it.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Now, who's gonna win? Donald, Are they really gonna fight
- 3:03Speaker 1: or they're gonna hug each other for.
- 3:05Speaker 3: A whole I think they're gonna fight. I want to
- 3:07Speaker 3: say Mike Tyson's gonna win, but I don't think Jake
- 3:11Speaker 3: Jake Paul is one of those smart guys who puts
- 3:13Speaker 3: himselves in who puts himself in a situation where he
- 3:18Speaker 3: can win, where the chances of him winning are very high.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Uh, Daniel is gonna win, Like, you.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Can't let me finish. I cannot lie that boy knows
- 3:28Speaker 3: how to fight.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah, he got good right.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Don't get it twisted. Any of y'all out there that
- 3:32Speaker 3: says he can't fight, y'all are out of your mind.
- 3:35Speaker 3: He will fuck you up, is he? Mike Tyson? Tough?
- 3:38Speaker 3: We about to find out.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Daniel, your thoughts Tyson is like sixty Yeah. I think
- 3:43Speaker 1: Jake Paul is gonna win just because of how things
- 3:45Speaker 1: have been going around here. But I would like to
- 3:47Speaker 1: say on the record that I think the Paul brothers
- 3:48Speaker 1: are a blight on the society. Okay, Daniel, you believe
- 3:52Speaker 1: they are heels very much? Don Joelle? Do you any
- 3:55Speaker 1: thoughts on Tyson Paul?
- 3:58Speaker 4: Good looe Tyson?
- 4:00Speaker 1: Okay, all right, there we go, straight up, straight.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Up, man like. That's what it is, man like. I'd
- 4:04Speaker 3: like to see him win.
- 4:06Speaker 1: All right, Next topic, Donald him on the podcast.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I'm just scared I say some dumb shit, to be
- 4:11Speaker 3: honest with you, one, Mike.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Tyson By the way, I'm not going to repeat some
- 4:17Speaker 1: of the ship he said, but he's been saying some
- 4:19Speaker 1: crazy stuff.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Yeah he said, he said some some really really nutty stuff.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I don't think I want to talk about what he said. No,
- 4:29Speaker 1: do you? Uh? Donald Dyer headed back to F one
- 4:34Speaker 1: in Vegas. We just learned that'll be fun. Yes for
- 4:37Speaker 1: Team Mobile.
- 4:37Speaker 3: We're excited. I'm gonna get Gucci again.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you're gonna have to wear some Gucci. Maybe you'll
- 4:42Speaker 1: see Brad Pitt, our friend from a year ago again.
- 4:45Speaker 3: If I see Brad Pitt this time, I'm taking that selfie.
- 4:47Speaker 1: No, don't you take a selfie with Brad Pitt laid
- 4:50Speaker 1: the foundations. Last year was the foundation.
- 4:53Speaker 3: I'm taking that selfie.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Last year was the foundation. We've sent a year in
- 4:57Speaker 1: Brad Pitt's mind. He's had a year's time to think
- 5:01Speaker 1: about us.
- 5:01Speaker 3: He's thought about us a lot too.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I bet he has.
- 5:04Speaker 3: I bet he's thought about us quite a bit.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I bet he's thought about us a whole lot, more
- 5:07Speaker 1: than any of his projects.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I'll go on, I'll go out on a limb and
- 5:11Speaker 3: say this is one of his favorite podcasts. You heard
- 5:13Speaker 3: it here, Brad Pitt loves the Fake Doctor's Real Friends podcast.
- 5:18Speaker 3: He's a big fan of Joel and Daniel, is what
- 5:20Speaker 3: I've heard.
- 5:21Speaker 1: We love Brad Pitt and then we hope that we
- 5:22Speaker 1: see him in F one. Donald, this time, we're gonna
- 5:24Speaker 1: play craps because I'm skilled. Now.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Yeah, See, last time we went, we didn't gamble very much.
- 5:32Speaker 3: We went to the F one festivities all night long, yes,
- 5:35Speaker 3: and we gambled for maybe like twenty minutes here.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Now now I'm a craps expert.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Zach has learned how to play that game of crafts,
- 5:43Speaker 3: and I know he can't wait to get to Vegas
- 5:45Speaker 3: and freaking throw the dice.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I'm ready. Okay. The other topic I wanted to talk
- 5:52Speaker 1: about was I finally like a DC something. I finished Penguin.
- 5:56Speaker 1: It's incredible nice.
- 5:58Speaker 4: That last episode is a doozy.
- 6:01Speaker 1: It's so good and there's no spoilers here, Joelle, but Donald,
- 6:05Speaker 1: I really it's a funny position I find myself in
- 6:07Speaker 1: because I'm watching a DC thing and begging you to
- 6:11Speaker 1: watch it.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I've began The Penguin Colin Ferrell. I find it a
- 6:17Speaker 3: little slow, but it is slow. I feel like at
- 6:22Speaker 3: the end there's going to be some sort of payoff
- 6:25Speaker 3: hopefully the Batman.
- 6:26Speaker 1: The acting is very good. I will say that Colin Ferrell.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I just think he's such a fine actor. And he
- 6:33Speaker 1: under like three and a half hours worth of prosthetics
- 6:37Speaker 1: daily daily, that's how long it takes to get it on.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And by the way, I shout out to the prosthetics team,
- 6:42Speaker 1: it is. It is flawless. You just can't see anything.
- 6:46Speaker 1: It's so well done.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it doesn't even look like him, even in the
- 6:50Speaker 3: freaking pictures.
- 6:51Speaker 1: In the light, he looks like Tony Soprano.
- 6:54Speaker 3: He looks scary than Tony Soprano. Tony Soprano had. You know,
- 6:57Speaker 3: he was a big guy, but he had that he
- 6:59Speaker 3: had a nice face. The penguin's face is like, oh
- 7:02Speaker 3: my god, I don't want If I ran it to
- 7:04Speaker 3: him in an alley, I'd be like, fuck, dude, kill
- 7:08Speaker 3: me right now.
- 7:08Speaker 1: The production design, how they do Gotham. I ended up
- 7:11Speaker 1: searching where they shoot it, and they shot a lot
- 7:13Speaker 1: of it in New York City, and it just looks
- 7:16Speaker 1: really good. It doesn't look cheap. It looks really well.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Made, you know. I I I always thought Chicago was Gotham.
- 7:24Speaker 3: And Metropolis was New York.
- 7:26Speaker 1: But you know, I think Gotham is New York.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I think Gotham is Chicago.
- 7:31Speaker 5: Bro In Christopher Nolan's film, he used it as the basis.
- 7:36Speaker 5: And there's a lot of art deco stuff, which is
- 7:39Speaker 5: you know, often used, but there's also what art deco
- 7:41Speaker 5: stuff in New York. The way I've heard it described
- 7:43Speaker 5: is that Metropolis is supposed to be New York and
- 7:46Speaker 5: Gotham is New Jersey. That's controversial to what I've heard.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I agree with that.
- 7:57Speaker 1: There's not a lot of New Jersey in uh In Penguin,
- 8:01Speaker 1: but great acting. The woman her.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Name is what Joelle Krista Malode.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I think Krista Melatti. I haven't seen her.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Before, Krista. I haven't seen her in much either, but
- 8:14Speaker 3: she's for some reason, all in my algorithm right now.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I know why she's on your algorithm because you're clicking
- 8:20Speaker 1: on her.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I keep clicking on it. Every time she pops up.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I'm like, who is this fantastic?
- 8:26Speaker 4: That your mother?
- 8:28Speaker 5: That's where through a lot of people first maybe ran
- 8:30Speaker 5: into her, but she's sensational.
- 8:32Speaker 1: She was in the Andy Samberg movie that was popular.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Writ in Palm Springs that one. Oh that was her.
- 8:40Speaker 1: That's her, right, I love Palm Springs, but I don't
- 8:43Speaker 1: think I've ever seen her outside of that movie.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Anyway, She's about to be she's about to be the
- 8:48Speaker 3: big star of Well, yeah, she's gonna have a huge
- 8:51Speaker 3: part in the Batman and she's gonna have it.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Is that character sorry for not knowing this is that
- 8:57Speaker 1: character known in the comics.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, you know. She's a crazy person in the
- 9:03Speaker 3: comics too, wine in the show, Yeah, wind up getting powers? Also,
- 9:07Speaker 3: doesn't she wind up getting powers in the comics.
- 9:09Speaker 4: She's a serial killer in the comics.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Yeah, with earli're using the very NPR voice today. Can
- 9:15Speaker 1: you switch it to fake doctors? Feel friend? Okay, well
- 9:24Speaker 1: we're bringing all this energy and you're like, cheese a
- 9:26Speaker 1: serial killer in me? Come in with the boat jacks
- 9:29Speaker 1: in Lower Manhattan. There's a little traffic jam at the
- 9:32Speaker 1: helland Tunnel.
- 9:39Speaker 4: All right, Ethy meetings all morning?
- 9:42Speaker 3: What was it? What was the what was the news network? Ten?
- 9:45Speaker 3: Ten wins?
- 9:47Speaker 1: Father, listen to that ship every morning.
- 9:48Speaker 3: My God, you give us, you give us, give you
- 9:51Speaker 3: the world.
- 9:52Speaker 1: That's the coach right there, that's that's try stated areas
- 9:56Speaker 1: you give us twenty two minutes. We'll give you a.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Little give you the world, give you the world.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, Donald, that's fucking that's Jersey in Manhattan. Wait, okay,
- 10:07Speaker 1: so she's really good. And also the young Hispanic kid
- 10:12Speaker 1: is fantastic and I've never seen him before. He's wonderful.
- 10:15Speaker 5: He's also in uh Donald, I don't know if you
- 10:18Speaker 5: saw The Runaways. Frenzy Philis is his name. He's also
- 10:23Speaker 5: in the Runaways. But he's sensational. I got to interview
- 10:25Speaker 5: him for X ray vision and he's so adorable and
- 10:29Speaker 5: very sweet and.
- 10:30Speaker 1: How old is He's fantastic.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Gosh, he's gotta be like in his early twenties.
- 10:35Speaker 3: I think early was he playing on the show.
- 10:38Speaker 1: He plays sort of penguin sidekick, sort of his right
- 10:43Speaker 1: hand man. Yeah man, And he's wonderful. It's a really
- 10:46Speaker 1: good actor.
- 10:49Speaker 3: You know. Does the dude ever pull out the umbrella
- 10:52Speaker 3: and fly with the ship or shoot guns from the umbrella?
- 10:55Speaker 3: Like does this happen?
- 10:56Speaker 4: In the most spoilers, but spoilers some costume reveal elements
- 11:03Speaker 4: At some point in the show.
- 11:05Speaker 1: You get a sense that with the costume reveal elements
- 11:08Speaker 1: that that that that kind of stuff could be coming
- 11:10Speaker 1: season two and and and Colin Ferrell said he's open
- 11:13Speaker 1: to season two's good too. I'm sure it's a big
- 11:16Speaker 1: ass hit.
- 11:17Speaker 3: I mean, look, if they make a Villains to a
- 11:21Speaker 3: Legion of Doom type television show where the or Gotham's
- 11:25Speaker 3: Baddest where the Joker, the Penguin, freaking poison ivy catwoman
- 11:32Speaker 3: Falcone's sister, where they make all these cats in this
- 11:36Speaker 3: in a television show, that's good. I'm fucking watching. I
- 11:39Speaker 3: will absolutely well.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I think if they.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Can figure out a way to make mister Freeze happen
- 11:44Speaker 3: in this universe, I'm fucking watching, bro because that's something
- 11:48Speaker 3: that's really cool. Because this is so this Batman is
- 11:51Speaker 3: so grounded. It's a little two grounded for me. Okay,
- 11:55Speaker 3: but that's just me.
- 11:56Speaker 2: You know.
- 11:56Speaker 1: It is sort of like a mob show. That's what
- 11:58Speaker 1: it feels like. There's not a lot of super natural elements,
- 12:01Speaker 1: and I know you like supernatural elements.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I like fantasy.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I like I like that no one flies, okay.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Right, and this is the world where a superman does
- 12:10Speaker 3: exist though, right.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Right, But they don't. This is all about the sort.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Of okay, Okay.
- 12:15Speaker 5: No, we don't know because the read Verse hasn't touched
- 12:18Speaker 5: what Gun is doing. So Gun is releasing a Superman.
- 12:21Speaker 5: But I don't think it's gonna be overlapped for these universes.
- 12:24Speaker 4: I think they're going to keep them separate.
- 12:25Speaker 5: So I don't know if we'll see a Superman flying
- 12:26Speaker 5: around Gotham.
- 12:28Speaker 3: So the closest thing that we'll ever see to Batman
- 12:32Speaker 3: versus Superman is the Batman Verse Superman movie that, at.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Least for now.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Okay, Wicked coming out of got a seat. I don't
- 12:43Speaker 1: know if you want to come with me on Thursday.
- 12:44Speaker 3: How did you get this seat? How did you get set?
- 12:46Speaker 1: Well, my friend Amanda Klutes reached out to me and said,
- 12:49Speaker 1: would you like to come see it with Elvis and
- 12:51Speaker 1: I And I thought to myself, Donald's never actually going
- 12:54Speaker 1: to go to the theater. Yes, well you can join us.
- 12:57Speaker 1: We're going Thursday at three a week a week from today.
- 13:03Speaker 3: I've got kids that get out of school at.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Three, take them ships out early.
- 13:08Speaker 3: They want to see this ship bad. I know my
- 13:09Speaker 3: daughter does. My My son's like I'm going to see
- 13:14Speaker 3: my daughter is like.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna see Wicked and a Gladiator too. You hear
- 13:20Speaker 1: Denzel came out and said that they cut his gay kiss.
- 13:22Speaker 4: From being robbed.
- 13:24Speaker 1: It's cruel. It is called everybody out. Denzel said that
- 13:29Speaker 1: he goes, I did, I did a full gay kiss
- 13:32Speaker 1: with a man, and they cut it. I guess the
- 13:33Speaker 1: people weren't ready or something like that.
- 13:35Speaker 3: He said, you know it's taken. It's taken his whole
- 13:39Speaker 3: career for that to happen. Washington has kissed another man.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I will still be seated. I will still be seated
- 13:47Speaker 1: done even though the people aren't ready.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Can you name a movie where Denzel Washington was gay?
- 13:53Speaker 5: No? I was watching Philadelphia the other day. Though he's
- 13:56Speaker 5: pretty great in that.
- 13:57Speaker 3: He's amazing in it, but he plays a very, very
- 14:00Speaker 3: homophobic lawyer in that movie too.
- 14:02Speaker 4: He has a whole change.
- 14:04Speaker 6: And yet spoilers spoilers, I mean when Tom Hanks has
- 14:17Speaker 6: aids spoilersoilers.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Get that for the lead.
- 14:24Speaker 1: All right, what else you want to talk about? Real quick?
- 14:26Speaker 1: We got one minute before we like we let Charlotte
- 14:29Speaker 1: Lawrence in.
- 14:31Speaker 3: We should probably talk about the climate of sports right now,
- 14:36Speaker 3: and how uh the New York Knicks are not what
- 14:40Speaker 3: they said they were. They're not what they said.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I don't want to talk about I don't want to
- 14:44Speaker 1: talk about that. Should I go? I got invited to
- 14:46Speaker 1: the Clippers game on Sunday and sid court side? Should
- 14:49Speaker 1: I do that? Like the best they're playing the Utah Jazz.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Have you heard of them?
- 14:55Speaker 3: That's you can just be like, I want food and
- 15:00Speaker 3: somehow the stadium knows that you want food.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Really, they have like controller.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Seats right where you can play on the screen.
- 15:08Speaker 5: If it was it's a supper stadium.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to stay interested and really focused because
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna be on camera.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Might go? This might be the number one Yeah, that
- 15:18Speaker 3: might be the number one reason to go? Is the
- 15:20Speaker 3: stadium though, Like this is something that looks nuts and
- 15:24Speaker 3: and nobody's experienced anything like this before. It has cameras everywhere.
- 15:28Speaker 3: You're identified as soon as you walk in. You don't
- 15:30Speaker 3: have to go to it. I think it's downtown.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's near the Yeah, it's near the Forum. All right,
- 15:37Speaker 1: we don't know a lot time. Go ahead, So I'm
- 15:39Speaker 1: gonna go. You convinced me. I'm gonna text back the
- 15:41Speaker 1: person who texted me and said yes, I'm in because
- 15:43Speaker 1: my whole podcast Posse wants me to go, mister Balmer,
- 15:47Speaker 1: I will be there. Do you want to go? Should
- 15:49Speaker 1: we watch Jake Paull and Tyson together tomorrow night Donald's.
- 15:53Speaker 3: I'm down to watch that.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I mean, I know I'll have to come to you
- 15:55Speaker 1: because I would love for you, because.
- 15:58Speaker 3: You can hang out in this in this room with me.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I think it might be fun to watch with you.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna be a fight.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Okay, but to see to see what happens.
- 16:10Speaker 3: With it, you know, it would be amazing if Mike
- 16:14Speaker 3: Tyson of Old shows up, that would be amazing. But
- 16:17Speaker 3: this dude is sixty years old old.
- 16:20Speaker 1: That's old. That's slow. Your brand his brain is can't
- 16:23Speaker 1: be can't be that good after all that punching.
- 16:25Speaker 3: And Jake Paul is early thirties.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I hope they do like like like they break it
- 16:32Speaker 1: up and all of a sudden, mister T comes out.
- 16:35Speaker 1: That would be fun. I would love that.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Mister Ta clumb of Lang.
- 16:41Speaker 1: We should get mister T on the podcast. I love
- 16:43Speaker 1: to ask him about Yeah, please, the.
- 16:47Speaker 3: A Team Freaking Rocky three.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Yeah, mister the cartoon.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Triannold Jackson jumps dress the Cereal Miss the Tea Cereal.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I just want him to say, I pity the fool.
- 17:06Speaker 3: You know, you talked about mister T on one of
- 17:09Speaker 3: your first talk shows. Actually you talked about how you
- 17:12Speaker 3: and I met mister T and how I was mad
- 17:15Speaker 3: because you were calling him Tea and I was like, YO,
- 17:17Speaker 3: respect his ass and call him mister.
- 17:22Speaker 1: We met some crazy people. Actually, one year ago we
- 17:24Speaker 1: hung out with Flavor Flav and one yeah, Flavor Flame.
- 17:31Speaker 3: But that's what we did when we saw him.
- 17:33Speaker 6: Flavor fla he was, he was, he was.
- 17:38Speaker 1: He was the geeked level to meet us that we
- 17:41Speaker 1: wanted Brad Pitt to be. Yes, he did not bring
- 17:47Speaker 1: the Flavor Flave energy that brought to Joe Well at
- 17:50Speaker 1: the beginning of the podcast.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Ergy.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Very nice to you guys. I'm a big fan of
- 17:54Speaker 1: your work. That's not I had this scan that I
- 18:02Speaker 1: think you should get donald And I don't mean to
- 18:03Speaker 1: give them a shout out because we're not advertising them,
- 18:05Speaker 1: although Joelle, you should get them as our advertiser. It's
- 18:09Speaker 1: called a full body it's called pernuvo, and it's a
- 18:12Speaker 1: full body scan just to see if anything's cooking in
- 18:16Speaker 1: your body. And I know that you're a hypochondriac, and
- 18:19Speaker 1: I actually.
- 18:19Speaker 3: I'm on my way. The reason why I have a
- 18:21Speaker 3: heart out is because I'm going to get my heart checked.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Okay, well, I know this is really good for hypochondriacs
- 18:28Speaker 1: because they're going to scan every nook and cranny from
- 18:31Speaker 1: your scalp down through your bowel to your big toe
- 18:35Speaker 1: and uh. And you sit in there for an hour
- 18:37Speaker 1: and they want they ask you what you want to
- 18:39Speaker 1: watch on Netflix and see.
- 18:42Speaker 3: The thing that scares me is to find something cooking
- 18:45Speaker 3: and having to change my life. But it's not feel
- 18:48Speaker 3: like it.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Wouldn't you rather know something's cooking.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Now instead of later. Absolutely, you get.
- 18:53Speaker 1: This full report and they told me like, look, it
- 18:54Speaker 1: could be up to two weeks. So I'm like, okay, whatever,
- 18:58Speaker 1: I'm not gonna think about it. Two days later, I
- 19:00Speaker 1: got a text from my doctor's office. The doctor would
- 19:02Speaker 1: like to speak to you about your scan. Yeah you
- 19:04Speaker 1: told us that I told you that.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sorry I'm repeating a story. But anyway, I
- 19:09Speaker 1: freaked out for about twenty five minutes until he told
- 19:11Speaker 1: me like, no, I just wanted to go over with you.
- 19:12Speaker 1: You're fine. But then you get this big packet and
- 19:16Speaker 1: it's just really cool. You go through it and it's
- 19:18Speaker 1: like it notices anything like I fell on my shoulder
- 19:20Speaker 1: years ago, it noticed like degeneration in my shoulder socket.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Like it's that specific. Wow. But you know that you
- 19:27Speaker 1: don't have any little any any little.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Nor you know that you do, or then you know
- 19:32Speaker 3: that you do.
- 19:33Speaker 1: But you know early, I just thought you and Casey
- 19:37Speaker 1: should get that shit.
- 19:38Speaker 3: I'm going to get my heart checked today, bro.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Well, ask your doctor about getting a full body scan,
- 19:43Speaker 1: because I'm your doctor. By the way, did you see
- 19:46Speaker 1: the fucking NBC medical comedy show that's that's like a
- 19:50Speaker 1: it's like a Scrubs. It's another it's like a new Scrubs.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I guess I guess NBC doesn't want the Scrubs reboot.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Well they didn't get the Scrubs reboot. ABC's gonna get
- 20:00Speaker 1: the Scrubsy both when it happens.
- 20:02Speaker 3: So they're trying to combat the fact.
- 20:03Speaker 1: That did you guys see the trailer for that? It's
- 20:05Speaker 1: pretty funny that it's I don't mean to say the
- 20:07Speaker 1: show is funny, it's pretty funny. It's sort of like
- 20:10Speaker 1: someone was like, what if The Office and Scrubs were
- 20:12Speaker 1: one show and there's like a turk, what's his name
- 20:16Speaker 1: plays you, David Allen Greer plays Turk. There's definitely a JD.
- 20:22Speaker 3: But he's a nurse.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Did you see the nurse? He has my hair.
- 20:26Speaker 3: He even has the hair due no addition.
- 20:28Speaker 1: They were like, let's just they must have said, like,
- 20:30Speaker 1: let's just be honest. It's j It's it's a Zach
- 20:34Speaker 1: Braff when he was young. JD type. But the twist
- 20:37Speaker 1: is he's a nurse, but he's got BedHead and he's
- 20:42Speaker 1: in over his head. Don't worry, he's going to be
- 20:45Speaker 1: his head. What's it called? Saint Denis Denis Medical? Yeah, anybody.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I don't think it's out yet, but I just saw
- 20:53Speaker 1: the trailer out.
- 20:55Speaker 3: It came on yesterday or something like that, didn't it?
- 20:57Speaker 1: Is it out? Joell?
- 20:59Speaker 3: I think it came one yesterday.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Well, audience, you got to watch that, because I mean,
- 21:04Speaker 1: you don't to watch the show, but you have to
- 21:05Speaker 1: watch it and see David Allan Greer being donald.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Don't be sending them to watch Saint Denise.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I know I don't watch it now, Dane, are you
- 21:14Speaker 1: saying don't send our audience to watch it?
- 21:16Speaker 3: This is a scrub podcast.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not worried.
- 21:19Speaker 3: About that's like sending them to watch Gray's Anatomy or
- 21:22Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I don't care. I'm not worried about it. I wish
- 21:26Speaker 1: everyone luck and I'm I hope it's a smash hit.
- 21:28Speaker 1: I just thought it was funny that. Uh, it's definitely funny.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Like it definitely has a color tone of scrub.
- 21:34Speaker 1: No, but they're doing like that office interview shtick where
- 21:37Speaker 1: like they talk to the camera. It's like, I mean,
- 21:39Speaker 1: it's the it's like as though they're doing a documentary
- 21:42Speaker 1: about this hospital. So they sort of combined the office
- 21:45Speaker 1: with Scrubs.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Yeah, they.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Clearly went to someone who was like, make a Scrubs
- 21:53Speaker 1: meets the Office show.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 1: By the way, I was talking to Crazy Sorry Chalk
- 21:58Speaker 1: today and he does this. I told you how. She
- 22:02Speaker 1: does this thing where she whispers right, anytime she's loud, Yeah,
- 22:06Speaker 1: she's loud and silly and sarah.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Until it gets serious.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And then anytime that turns serious, she whispers. And she's
- 22:12Speaker 1: on the phone with me, right, And it's not like
- 22:14Speaker 1: anyone's in her house. He's dropping, or even if they were,
- 22:17Speaker 1: they'd give a fuck. But she's like laugh laugh, flat
- 22:19Speaker 1: funny story, funny story. Okay, I have a business question
- 22:22Speaker 1: for you. So do you think I'm like, why are
- 22:26Speaker 1: you whispering? Why are you whispering on the phone? Who
- 22:32Speaker 1: who you were is going to hear?
- 22:35Speaker 3: Yo?
- 22:38Speaker 1: She does it all the time. You're in a room
- 22:40Speaker 1: with her and she's like being silly, like doing characters,
- 22:43Speaker 1: and she's like, did you guys hear about Cindy Yah?
- 22:47Speaker 3: Casey just said this shit? Casey just said this ship
- 22:51Speaker 3: to me. Like the other day she was like, Sarah,
- 22:54Speaker 3: I love her. I love her to death. Where she
- 22:56Speaker 3: gets serious, she gets real quiet.
- 22:59Speaker 1: And you can't hear it. You can't hear so, yeah
- 23:03Speaker 1: it was the other day.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why. And I think that's why all of
- 23:07Speaker 3: the GUD stories, all all of the crazy shit that
- 23:10Speaker 3: happened to her, were always like, you're never gonna believe
- 23:12Speaker 3: what happened to me.
- 23:13Speaker 1: It was me.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I was on GUD and.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I see you're doing. We were hanging out in mon talking,
- 23:17Speaker 1: like in a room full of people. Everyone's laughing, everyone's talking,
- 23:19Speaker 1: everyone's drinking, everyone's being social, and then all of a
- 23:21Speaker 1: sudden you see Sarah turning the person next to him.
- 23:23Speaker 1: She's like, do you know about my father? Yes, Dan,
- 23:28Speaker 1: Charlott's here all right, invite Charlotte Lawrence five.
- 23:32Speaker 7: Six seven stories that show we made about a bunch
- 23:37Speaker 7: of talks and nurses. And he said, he's the stories nets.
- 23:44Speaker 8: No, so YadA around here? Yeada round here, nor.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Charlie Lauren there she is?
- 24:04Speaker 9: Wait you wait?
- 24:05Speaker 1: I miss you, Charlotte. This is Joel and Daniel. Have
- 24:09Speaker 1: you ever met them? You probably heard it?
- 24:11Speaker 3: Yes, yes, I do well and Dan you Charlotte love you.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Finally we have you on the podcast.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Oh my god? Should I cry?
- 24:20Speaker 1: Yes? Yes, go to tears.
- 24:23Speaker 9: Now?
- 24:23Speaker 1: Wait, do you have your phones in Charlotte?
- 24:26Speaker 5: No?
- 24:26Speaker 2: Is that going to be a problem?
- 24:28Speaker 1: Do you have headphones that we can grab? Charlotte, I've
- 24:30Speaker 1: been in your house and there's a lot of musical gear.
- 24:33Speaker 1: There's a lot of headphones.
- 24:35Speaker 2: I'm looking everywhere. In the meantime, what you guys, if
- 24:39Speaker 2: you want to come over for a sauna.
- 24:44Speaker 3: I'm getting my heart checked today. After I get my
- 24:47Speaker 3: heart checked, I'm down to jump in the sun. I
- 24:49Speaker 3: hear it's not necessarily good if you've got a bad heart.
- 24:53Speaker 1: That's not true. Sauna is amazing.
- 24:55Speaker 3: I think the cold plunge I'm in no no, man,
- 24:59Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Wait, Casey told me you were thinking about getting a
- 25:01Speaker 1: cold plunge without a sauna. You don't want to do that.
- 25:04Speaker 3: I don't want to do that.
- 25:05Speaker 7: She was.
- 25:05Speaker 3: She was thinking of that.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Well, you're not gonna want to get in the cold
- 25:08Speaker 1: water without getting heated up.
- 25:10Speaker 3: And I hate cold water.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I agree, you're you're gonna you don't want a cold
- 25:13Speaker 2: plunge without the sauna.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Yeah, because you get hot a dongle?
- 25:17Speaker 3: Do they work?
- 25:19Speaker 9: They don't have a dongle?
- 25:20Speaker 1: One second?
- 25:21Speaker 3: What's a what's a dongle? Like?
- 25:28Speaker 2: Attached?
- 25:28Speaker 1: Charlotte. My opening, my opening to introduce you, was to
- 25:31Speaker 1: talk about how impressed I am with how you have
- 25:33Speaker 1: all your ship together. But I think I'm going to
- 25:35Speaker 1: change it.
- 25:37Speaker 2: I do have my ship together. I didn't know that
- 25:39Speaker 2: we needed head songs and like we really don't have
- 25:41Speaker 2: headphones too. Oh my lord, you wait, talk about how
- 25:46Speaker 2: I have my ship together?
- 25:47Speaker 1: All right?
- 25:48Speaker 3: So Charlotte own this young lady since she was born.
- 25:53Speaker 2: But I just found a rolling stones butt plug.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 25:58Speaker 1: That that is a lot for keeping that.
- 26:01Speaker 2: And that is.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Why would there be a rolling stone first time? Why
- 26:07Speaker 1: would there be a rolling stones butt plug in our house?
- 26:09Speaker 1: Whose would it be? Donald? I would check in a
- 26:17Speaker 1: different let's check a different drawer, maybe Donald. I was
- 26:23Speaker 1: realizing before Charlotte came on and ruined the show that
- 26:27Speaker 1: we we've met. I met Charlotte the same day I
- 26:30Speaker 1: met you.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Yeah, we met. We know, well, we didn't meet her though, Yeah.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I think she was being carried around at some point.
- 26:37Speaker 3: She was sleeping.
- 26:38Speaker 1: She didn't sleep the whole time. I feel like there
- 26:40Speaker 1: was because we woke her up with the laughter, right,
- 26:43Speaker 1: But I'm telling. And then I met Charlotte the same
- 26:46Speaker 1: day I met you.
- 26:48Speaker 3: I'll agree with that.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Our friendship has been has lasted the exact amount of
- 26:53Speaker 1: time that I've known Charlotte, Lawrence, that that we have known.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Lawrence thinking today about Charlotte and how things could have
- 27:02Speaker 1: really gone awry with you, and you know, you grew
- 27:06Speaker 1: up in this very successful family in Hollywood, and you
- 27:11Speaker 1: could have really become a disaster. And it's amazing how
- 27:15Speaker 1: many amazing things are happening in your life right now.
- 27:17Speaker 1: And I'm very proud of you as you're.
- 27:20Speaker 2: That's so sweet.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Donald and I have known you since you were born.
- 27:24Speaker 1: We met the very day that we met we you
- 27:27Speaker 1: were you were a baby, and it's just so crazy
- 27:30Speaker 1: to look at you and and know that we've known
- 27:33Speaker 1: you your entire life.
- 27:34Speaker 3: And and all of the things that are all of
- 27:36Speaker 3: the good things that are happening in your life. Also,
- 27:39Speaker 3: that's what's really amazing. Thanks Zach, thank you. But no,
- 27:43Speaker 3: but he said it. He said it in the thing,
- 27:45Speaker 3: you could have went the wrong way right, And for.
- 27:47Speaker 1: A moment I thought she was going to go the
- 27:49Speaker 1: wrong way. She was never well, no, she was. She
- 27:52Speaker 1: was partying like all kids party and I and and
- 27:55Speaker 1: but she she we was sort of sneaking out of
- 27:57Speaker 1: the house at sixteen and going to the club.
- 28:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:00Speaker 2: I got it out of my system so that now
- 28:02Speaker 2: in my twenties, I can focus on work and being
- 28:05Speaker 2: a grown up and responsible.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, I'll never forget when Evan Ross, who is
- 28:11Speaker 3: your cousin or brother uncle in a weird way, Yeah,
- 28:16Speaker 3: he says to me, Yo, I was out the other
- 28:18Speaker 3: night at a club and Charlotte was there, and I
- 28:22Speaker 3: was like what He's like, yeah, I got yeah. I
- 28:25Speaker 3: was like no, she was like.
- 28:30Speaker 2: My parents, yea sixteen parents.
- 28:32Speaker 3: He was like, uh, I used to be like, dude,
- 28:36Speaker 3: you gotta tell her to go home. Bro, He's like,
- 28:38Speaker 3: see them freaking, I can't tell her to go home.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Let's take a break.
- 28:41Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. For those
- 28:50Speaker 1: of you who are confused at all, Charlotte Lawrence is
- 28:53Speaker 1: the child of Bill Lawrence and Krista Miller, and her
- 28:59Speaker 1: career is just on fuego right now. That's why she's
- 29:01Speaker 1: joining us. She's not joining us because she's the child
- 29:04Speaker 1: of those two. She's joining us because her career is
- 29:06Speaker 1: on fire. She is the star with Vince Vaughan of
- 29:10Speaker 1: Bad Monkey on Apple TV, and Charlotte I didn't know
- 29:14Speaker 1: what to expect. I gotta be honest. I was like,
- 29:17Speaker 1: I knew that Bill wouldn't have cast you if you
- 29:19Speaker 1: were horrible, because he wouldn't sabotage his own show. But
- 29:24Speaker 1: you were really fantastic on the show. You genuinely were.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Thank you, so were you. You were fantastic. I remember,
- 29:31Speaker 2: you'll laugh at this. There's a whole thing of how
- 29:34Speaker 2: I even got the role to begin with, And obviously
- 29:38Speaker 2: it came down to I'm very blessed, I'm very lucky,
- 29:42Speaker 2: and my father is like running the show, running the ship.
- 29:45Speaker 2: So I understand that, but I definitely am. It was
- 29:48Speaker 2: very fun because I snuck in a self tape without
- 29:51Speaker 2: his knowledge, and I was just like, please just like
- 29:53Speaker 2: put it in like the top twenty and like just
- 29:55Speaker 2: give to the casting director, but tell him it's like important.
- 29:58Speaker 9: To watch, like make them watch it.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Don't want to get lost, but like just slip it in.
- 30:02Speaker 2: And I got a call from my dad like two
- 30:03Speaker 2: weeks later in the writer's room just going what the.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Fuck, Like what why didn't you tell me about this?
- 30:09Speaker 2: Like oh, I'm so embarrassed, blah bah, and I was
- 30:11Speaker 2: like ha ha ha ha, like are you gonna give
- 30:13Speaker 2: me the partner? Anyways, he did, and it was a
- 30:20Speaker 2: really crazy process to get it. He was like, Okay, well,
- 30:22Speaker 2: first of all, do you really actually want to do this?
- 30:24Speaker 2: And I was like, yes, I really really really want
- 30:26Speaker 2: to do this. He's like no, no, no, like hilarious,
- 30:28Speaker 2: like we're we're not playing games here. Do you actually
- 30:31Speaker 2: really want to do this? Because if you say yes,
- 30:33Speaker 2: this has to be your only priority for the next
- 30:35Speaker 2: two years, it has to be the only thing that matters,
- 30:37Speaker 2: and you have to work harder than everybody else on set.
- 30:39Speaker 2: And I was like, okay, yes, I promise I will
- 30:41Speaker 2: immediately get into classes, I'll work with a coach, I'll
- 30:44Speaker 2: be more prepared than anybody. I will make it my
- 30:46Speaker 2: only priority. He was like, okay, number two, we have
- 30:48Speaker 2: to prove you to Apple because you're my daughter. They're
- 30:50Speaker 2: going to think I'm just hiring you because you're my daughter.
- 30:52Speaker 2: You have to do a hundred tapes for Apple to
- 30:55Speaker 2: like prove to them that you can actually do it.
- 30:57Speaker 2: And I was like, okay, I'm in. We did a
- 30:58Speaker 2: million freaking tapes of emotion and every scene and blah
- 31:02Speaker 2: blah blah, and they were like okay, we okay her.
- 31:05Speaker 2: And then thirdly he was like, and here's the thing.
- 31:08Speaker 2: This is my TV show and I'm not about to
- 31:10Speaker 2: ruin my TV show. If we finish filming and I
- 31:13Speaker 2: look at your scenes and you're bad, I'm cutting you
- 31:15Speaker 2: out and you're not gonna be in the show. And
- 31:16Speaker 2: I was like okay, and he was like I'm serious,
- 31:19Speaker 2: like I'm not going to ruin my show for you.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Like work really hard, try really hard, but no, right now,
- 31:24Speaker 2: have your expectations managed because if you're not good, you're up.
- 31:27Speaker 2: And I was like okay, thank you, and it put
- 31:29Speaker 2: this level of like of drive and challenge in me
- 31:35Speaker 2: that I was like, oh my god, I need to
- 31:36Speaker 2: kill this and it's all I want, more than anything
- 31:38Speaker 2: in the world. And on top of that, it was
- 31:40Speaker 2: so much fun and exciting and I got to work
- 31:42Speaker 2: with the best people, Zach being one of them. But yeah,
- 31:45Speaker 2: it was a really fun, crazy experience, and I really
- 31:48Speaker 2: think it instilled like such a I mean, I already
- 31:51Speaker 2: have had this like work ethics since I've been a kid.
- 31:53Speaker 2: I love to work. I love I love everything about it,
- 31:56Speaker 2: especially like in this industry. I just love performing in
- 31:59Speaker 2: all all the things. But it was so it was
- 32:02Speaker 2: really crazy. It was scary and really funly because I
- 32:05Speaker 2: was like, if I don't succeed at this, I'm it's
- 32:07Speaker 2: not probably cut out of it. Like there wasn't any
- 32:10Speaker 2: sort of middle grounds, and he.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Does cut people. That's not a lie. Well on that show.
- 32:17Speaker 1: On that show, I don't know if this is out
- 32:18Speaker 1: in the open, but I'll break it here. People were
- 32:22Speaker 1: replaced and we cast and so he he meant it.
- 32:28Speaker 1: He wasn't fucking around because that.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Was a big show around you ruining my show. He
- 32:32Speaker 2: also has loved Carl Hyason since he's been a kid
- 32:35Speaker 2: and has been like like a desperate girl with Carl
- 32:39Speaker 2: Hyason being like, please please please please let me making two,
- 32:42Speaker 2: so please let me very rich, please, Like for twenty
- 32:45Speaker 2: years or I don't know, I don't know how has
- 32:48Speaker 2: been obsessed with him begging. So he was like, this
- 32:50Speaker 2: is my one chance to make this show good, Like
- 32:53Speaker 2: you are not going to come around and ruin it.
- 32:55Speaker 1: My two cents on the baby thing. And I saw
- 32:59Speaker 1: you on le Ley Bieber's podcast once and I thought
- 33:02Speaker 1: you spoke really eloquently on it. And I think that's
- 33:06Speaker 1: hard because there's a burden on you to be like
- 33:08Speaker 1: why do you deserve this? But I really feel like
- 33:10Speaker 1: when two super talented people make a child, there are
- 33:16Speaker 1: very increased odds that the child is going to have talent,
- 33:20Speaker 1: and there's so many of these young people. I was
- 33:22Speaker 1: thinking of this before you came on. I was thinking
- 33:24Speaker 1: about how amazing Maya Hawk is and how amazing Maud
- 33:27Speaker 1: Apatow is, and you know, obviously all of the examples
- 33:31Speaker 1: throughout history. Yes, but I'm just saying I'm going we
- 33:36Speaker 1: could go on naming example after example. Those were just
- 33:38Speaker 1: the two that came to my mind to this morning,
- 33:40Speaker 1: but I was like, there's so, they're the odds of
- 33:42Speaker 1: like two beautiful, talented people making a talented child. Do
- 33:48Speaker 1: do increase that the child is going to have that ability?
- 33:50Speaker 2: Right?
- 33:51Speaker 1: Donald?
- 33:52Speaker 3: I agree? I think I don't. I don't. I don't
- 33:55Speaker 3: think there's anything wrong with nepotism. I think that's fine.
- 33:58Speaker 3: I think, you know, so if I build a company,
- 34:01Speaker 3: if I build a brand and I want to pass
- 34:03Speaker 3: it on to my youth, to my kids, or if
- 34:05Speaker 3: I want to pass it on to somebody who I raise,
- 34:09Speaker 3: I don't think I should be faulted for that. And
- 34:11Speaker 3: if the person is eager and willing to take over,
- 34:15Speaker 3: but they else have to be good. Yeah, no doubt absolutely.
- 34:18Speaker 3: But at the end of the day, who is anybody?
- 34:21Speaker 3: It's everywhere, so to complain about it is ridiculous. It's
- 34:25Speaker 3: everywhere in politics, it's in freaking sports, it's in acting,
- 34:30Speaker 3: it is in business.
- 34:32Speaker 2: I just I really believe that people have the right
- 34:36Speaker 2: to be angry when somebody doesn't acknowledge that they have
- 34:41Speaker 2: these opportunities and one ups that ninety nine percent of
- 34:44Speaker 2: the world, don't I understand that, Like when people get
- 34:47Speaker 2: angry at nepotism, kids that don't acknowledge their nepotism and
- 34:52Speaker 2: are just like, no, I just got this job, because
- 34:54Speaker 2: I just got this job, and like, what are you
- 34:56Speaker 2: talking about? It did it all myself and it's only
- 34:58Speaker 2: me who got here like that. I understand that because
- 35:00Speaker 2: it aggravates me as well. I think the whole thing
- 35:03Speaker 2: about nepotism is you guys are right. Like I was
- 35:05Speaker 2: born into this industry. I was born with genetic passions
- 35:10Speaker 2: for it per se, and I was also born into
- 35:14Speaker 2: a world of like actors and musicians and just creativity
- 35:19Speaker 2: around me. And I came out of the wombs singing
- 35:20Speaker 2: and I wanted to perform, and it was just my
- 35:23Speaker 2: love from when I was really young. But as I
- 35:25Speaker 2: grew older, I very quickly understood that I had so
- 35:30Speaker 2: many opportunities and one ups that ninety nine percent of
- 35:34Speaker 2: the world didn't have. Like I was able to go
- 35:36Speaker 2: into these rooms with these musicians or these actors or
- 35:38Speaker 2: directors or writers, whoever may be, and no one else
- 35:41Speaker 2: would have been able to be in those rooms at
- 35:43Speaker 2: the age that I was in, and I feel so
- 35:47Speaker 2: blessed that I had these advantages. But my opinion has
- 35:50Speaker 2: always been, if I'm so passionate about it, and I
- 35:52Speaker 2: love it so much, and I'm willing to really work
- 35:55Speaker 2: my ass off, you know, at my passions at these things.
- 35:59Speaker 2: It would be done loves me to not take advantage
- 36:01Speaker 2: of the advantages given.
- 36:02Speaker 1: And most importantly, you have the talent. And I want
- 36:05Speaker 1: to segreate in music because one of your songs, Charlotte
- 36:08Speaker 1: for those of you who don't know, is also an
- 36:10Speaker 1: incredibly talented singer. Thanks, and one of your songs I
- 36:13Speaker 1: like the most. I just want to give the audience
- 36:15Speaker 1: a little sample of now because this is one of
- 36:18Speaker 1: my favorite pops.
- 36:19Speaker 9: Zach.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Also, you guys, wait before he even plays it. Side note,
- 36:22Speaker 2: secret note. His favorite type of music is like pop.
- 36:28Speaker 9: Girl pop.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Every time I get into his car, it's like Lizzie
- 36:33Speaker 2: McAlpine or yeah, it's embarrassing, shick carpenter chapel roone is blasting.
- 36:37Speaker 2: I'm like, you get it.
- 36:39Speaker 1: There's times when people get in my car and I'm
- 36:41Speaker 1: embarrassed to be like to be like, we don't don't look,
- 36:45Speaker 1: don't look at my recent.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Page or the one Julian Casablanca's daft punk song that
- 36:51Speaker 2: we're obsessed with. So same.
- 37:02Speaker 9: Beloved.
- 37:19Speaker 1: So that's a little bit of How It Ends by
- 37:21Speaker 1: Charlotte Lawrence. Check out her music. It's so good. Now, Charlotte,
- 37:23Speaker 1: you opened up for Madison beer Donald. Do you know
- 37:28Speaker 1: that is? I knew her just as a very she's
- 37:30Speaker 1: a very beautiful model.
- 37:32Speaker 2: But she's got to beiful people you've ever seen in
- 37:34Speaker 2: your entire life?
- 37:35Speaker 3: Didn't We run into her at the People's Choice Awards
- 37:39Speaker 3: that day and we were talking about Charlotte being on
- 37:43Speaker 3: tour with her? Was that who we ran into?
- 37:45Speaker 1: I don't remember. I just know that I didn't. I
- 37:48Speaker 1: knew that she was. We were a full person model.
- 37:50Speaker 1: And then Charlotte told me that she also has.
- 37:53Speaker 9: This enormous massive music music career.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Je Joelle knows her.
- 37:59Speaker 2: She's another one.
- 38:01Speaker 4: It's my jam.
- 38:02Speaker 2: I listened to it on Home to another One. It's
- 38:05Speaker 2: so good all the.
- 38:06Speaker 4: Time, all the time on my repeat. It's such an earworm.
- 38:08Speaker 4: It's amazing.
- 38:09Speaker 9: No, she's Zachi.
- 38:10Speaker 2: I'll send you some songs of hers that you would love.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Me knowing your style is like sad girl pop, I'll
- 38:15Speaker 2: send you a good playlist of hers. But she just
- 38:18Speaker 2: got She had a song this year called make You Mine,
- 38:20Speaker 2: which is a huge dance song and just got nominated
- 38:23Speaker 2: for like Pop Dance record, Dance the Best Dance Record
- 38:26Speaker 2: or something. She's so wonderful. She's also so lovely, and
- 38:30Speaker 2: it's so rare to get to go on tour with
- 38:33Speaker 2: like one of your best friends. She's not just like, oh,
- 38:35Speaker 2: she's my bestie, Like she's one of my best friends,
- 38:37Speaker 2: like my closest friends.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Like, what was your experience like going on a massive
- 38:41Speaker 1: tour like that?
- 38:43Speaker 9: It was so much fun.
- 38:44Speaker 2: It was so it was so surreal because the whole
- 38:48Speaker 2: crew that we were with, like my band and her
- 38:50Speaker 2: band and everybody, all the audio people and lighting people
- 38:54Speaker 2: and just everyone that like made this tour work. They
- 38:57Speaker 2: were so fun and cool and insane. We were just
- 39:00Speaker 2: like it was just like a two month long party. Honestly,
- 39:03Speaker 2: we had the best time ever. We were just like
- 39:05Speaker 2: little kids again at Sleepwoy camp, just dancing and singing
- 39:09Speaker 2: and laughing and drinking and just had the best time.
- 39:11Speaker 2: And then to get to go on stage before one
- 39:14Speaker 2: of my best friends whose music I love, in front
- 39:16Speaker 2: of all these like young girls with just like eyes
- 39:20Speaker 2: wide open, eager to love and listen. It was so
- 39:23Speaker 2: special and it was so cool. Also, by the end
- 39:25Speaker 2: of the tour that like her, fans would catch on
- 39:28Speaker 2: to little moments of mine, like I played a song
- 39:30Speaker 2: called Somewhere that's unreleased, but at the end of it,
- 39:33Speaker 2: I would always scream into the microphone and crazy play
- 39:35Speaker 2: guitar and have a big ending. And at the end
- 39:37Speaker 2: of the tour everyone was like screaming along like they had.
- 39:41Speaker 1: I saw you, I got to see I went with
- 39:44Speaker 1: her parents to see her at Radio City Music Hall,
- 39:46Speaker 1: which was just insane.
- 39:48Speaker 2: That was insane.
- 39:50Speaker 1: I just felt so proud of you to watch you
- 39:52Speaker 1: playing this Radio Sing Music Hall, which was just crazy.
- 39:57Speaker 1: That's the real We didn't stay for Madison, and no
- 40:00Speaker 1: offense to Madison, but we wanted to go on and
- 40:03Speaker 1: celebrate with you. We wanted to do you, wanted to
- 40:05Speaker 1: go celebrate with you. But I'm sure Madison was amazing.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Joe would be incredible.
- 40:10Speaker 2: She was magnificent. There's one funny little story about Radio
- 40:14Speaker 2: City Musical I, as you know, Zachi, have a very
- 40:18Speaker 2: beautiful relationship with my grandparents. And I'm talking in this
- 40:22Speaker 2: story specifically about my dad's parents, and they're getting older
- 40:26Speaker 2: and my dad's dad is struggling a little bit, and
- 40:28Speaker 2: it's just been hard on my dad and on the family,
- 40:31Speaker 2: and it's just so important when we get to see
- 40:33Speaker 2: him and love him and spend time with him. And
- 40:37Speaker 2: they flew out to New York to see me at
- 40:39Speaker 2: Radio City Musical, and I had this song called body
- 40:42Speaker 2: Bag in the middle of my set, which is like
- 40:45Speaker 2: one of my most devastating songs, I would say, at
- 40:47Speaker 2: least to me specifically. It's so personal and it's hard
- 40:51Speaker 2: for me to play still without getting emotional tearing up,
- 40:54Speaker 2: and I have to like bite my tongue, close my
- 40:55Speaker 2: eyes and just be like performing stop, don't be a bitch,
- 40:59Speaker 2: like just fucking seeing this song. And it became a
- 41:02Speaker 2: thing on this tour that every time I would play it,
- 41:04Speaker 2: because it's just me on the piano alone, everyone would
- 41:06Speaker 2: do flashlights and Radiot Musical is huge and it goes
- 41:10Speaker 2: all the way up and I'm playing body Bag and
- 41:14Speaker 2: I look out into the crowd and it looks like
- 41:16Speaker 2: a sky full of stars and it's immediately like a
- 41:19Speaker 2: dagger to the heart, and it's so special and I
- 41:21Speaker 2: feel so happy, and I'm singing and I look in
- 41:23Speaker 2: the crowd. My eyes are scanning the crowd, and all
- 41:26Speaker 2: I see is a million stars, and then my grandparents
- 41:29Speaker 2: can't figure out how to do the flashlight. It's on
- 41:33Speaker 2: their face, so it's the sky full of stars and
- 41:36Speaker 2: they're just my grandfather's face in the middle of the crowd.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Like I couldn't. It'll make me cheer up now thinking
- 41:46Speaker 2: about it. I couldn't finish it. It was so precious.
- 41:49Speaker 2: It was like, I don't even it was like a
- 41:51Speaker 2: movie that it's like the one spotlight on like my grandpa.
- 41:56Speaker 1: So we gotta tell, we gotta tell Donald and the audience.
- 42:00Speaker 1: And the funniest story ever, which was the time that
- 42:05Speaker 1: Olivia Rodrigo and you were thrown out of Johnny.
- 42:10Speaker 3: How did this happen? John McGinley is a first of all.
- 42:17Speaker 1: It's one of the funniest. It's one of the funniest.
- 42:20Speaker 1: It's one of the funniest things I can remember. I
- 42:22Speaker 1: was in I was in the bathtub last night thinking
- 42:24Speaker 1: about like anecdotes for the podcast today, and I just
- 42:27Speaker 1: started belly laughing thinking about the time Johnny c evicted Olivia.
- 42:34Speaker 2: I will precursor it and Zachie you can take the lead.
- 42:37Speaker 1: But I was let me say, let me just say
- 42:40Speaker 1: it before you begin that this was before Olivia's album
- 42:43Speaker 1: came out. I knew that she was a singer.
- 42:45Speaker 2: I know her first album came out, not Guts, not guts,
- 42:50Speaker 2: not guts, but like the first.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Okay, that one, that one, that one was already the
- 42:56Speaker 1: biggest okay. But but I didn't I knew her. Okay.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Let me just say from my point of view, I
- 43:02Speaker 1: knew that of her Driver's License song, but I didn't
- 43:06Speaker 1: I love Guts. You were just joking about how I
- 43:07Speaker 1: love you know, girly sad pop. I love that whole album.
- 43:11Speaker 1: So she hadn't she hadn't registered. She hadn't registered. To me,
- 43:15Speaker 1: I just knew you didn't portray her yet.
- 43:18Speaker 9: Yeah, Corol, I'm just saying when she came over to that,
- 43:20Speaker 9: when she came over, she hits on that first.
- 43:24Speaker 1: All I'm saying is when she came over to the house,
- 43:26Speaker 1: I knew she was a famous singer, but I didn't
- 43:28Speaker 1: quite really fully understand how big.
- 43:30Speaker 2: All right, and her impact, especially on young women already
- 43:34Speaker 2: at this time, was like.
- 43:36Speaker 3: My daughter, My daughter has a dance that she does
- 43:41Speaker 3: to trader. You're still a trader.
- 43:44Speaker 2: All that ship's magnificent. Olivia's also like deserves every ounce.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Of her, and so she seemed the time we spent
- 43:54Speaker 1: with her she was couldn't have been.
- 43:56Speaker 2: But anyways, I we were living in Malibu for the summer,
- 43:59Speaker 2: my family and my family meeting also Zach. We did
- 44:03Speaker 2: not allow him to leave for the entire three months
- 44:05Speaker 2: that we were staying there.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and.
- 44:08Speaker 2: I asked Olivia to come hang out, and I hadn't
- 44:11Speaker 2: seen her in a while. I think she was like
- 44:12Speaker 2: on tour or something. Just go back to La And
- 44:14Speaker 2: Olivia came out to Malibu for a night and we
- 44:17Speaker 2: were having such a sweet night and just like being
- 44:20Speaker 2: cozy and talking and sitting by the fire. And I
- 44:24Speaker 2: remember earlier my parents and Zach were like, we're going
- 44:27Speaker 2: to Johnny C's house, which was next door to our house,
- 44:30Speaker 2: like a walkable distance for dinner. But you're not allowed
- 44:34Speaker 2: because there's no kids allowed. Even though I'm twenty four,
- 44:36Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, Yeah.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Johnny clarified that. Johnny clarified, this is his birthday dinner
- 44:42Speaker 1: and he's gonna have barbecue. And he kept saying over
- 44:44Speaker 1: and over again, no kids, no kids. And when he
- 44:47Speaker 1: says kids, he includes Charlotte as a twenty four year old,
- 44:50Speaker 1: she gets lumped in with the younger kids.
- 44:52Speaker 2: No kids, but he was so serious on it, and
- 44:55Speaker 2: he was like, it's his birthday dinner only adults, like
- 44:57Speaker 2: twelve people. He's like, no kids, and my parents us
- 45:00Speaker 2: are never like, never put down rules with me anymore
- 45:03Speaker 2: because I'm twenty fourth. They ten times throughout the day
- 45:05Speaker 2: was like, don't come to Johnny Ce's like he'll be.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Really mad everybody, dude, But everybody's scared of Johnny. See,
- 45:11Speaker 1: I don't care if he wants that. I don't care
- 45:14Speaker 1: what Bill and Chris to say. Everybody's afraid of Johnny Seed.
- 45:18Speaker 2: The Scrubs fans to everybody listening with slight differences. Johnny
- 45:23Speaker 2: c is his character in Scrubs, like he's a he's
- 45:27Speaker 2: a hard motherfucker, and he's the best. She's the most.
- 45:31Speaker 1: He's very lovable. But yeah, I am as scared of
- 45:34Speaker 1: him as JD was of doctor Cox when he lays
- 45:40Speaker 1: down the law it's my birthday to my barbecue, no
- 45:44Speaker 1: kill kids.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Also, I all finished the story. But on a side note,
- 45:50Speaker 2: have you told the story of the sauna rules yet?
- 45:54Speaker 1: I don't remember if I have, Joelle says I have. Yeah,
- 45:57Speaker 1: So wait, so wait, let me just tell you can listen,
- 45:59Speaker 1: go back and forth. So then then I'll let you
- 46:01Speaker 1: tell your part after I tell this part. So then
- 46:03Speaker 1: we all go over. Charlotte and Olivia, Rodrigo and Bill's
- 46:06Speaker 1: younger kids all stay at the house. The adults meaning me,
- 46:10Speaker 1: Christa and Bill go over to Johnny's.
- 46:13Speaker 3: The people in there over thirty years old.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Right, and we're all there. Now his kids are there.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Obviously it's his birthday party. He just didn't wantnybody else's kids.
- 46:19Speaker 9: He's got at the table though, because that's true.
- 46:23Speaker 1: He's got two young teenage girls and they were they
- 46:27Speaker 1: were inside. And who else was at the table? Do
- 46:31Speaker 1: you remember, Charlotte was there? Somebody else?
- 46:33Speaker 9: John McEnroe, Oh, John macro was there.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Yeah, No, no, not at this not at this gathering.
- 46:43Speaker 1: So we're all sitting there and we're eating barbecue, and
- 46:46Speaker 1: all of a sudden I see something. I'm like, oh no,
- 46:49Speaker 1: and Charlotte, I see Charlotte and Olivia Rodrigo heads jumping
- 46:55Speaker 1: up over to look over the driveway fence, the driveway fence,
- 47:00Speaker 1: and what did you say, Charlotte, I forgot hungry.
- 47:02Speaker 2: There's no Postmates in Melbour.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Like, and I'm like, and I'm like, in my heart,
- 47:13Speaker 1: Donald like, no joke. I'm like, oh no, Johnny's not
- 47:15Speaker 1: gonna like this at all. He said, no kids.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Johnny out loud was like fuck yeah.
- 47:23Speaker 1: He was like. And so then Johnny didn't know what
- 47:25Speaker 1: to do because I think Charlotte knew the gate code
- 47:27Speaker 1: and and so she just punched it in and the
- 47:29Speaker 1: gates starts going, and I'm like, oh no, no, oh no.
- 47:34Speaker 1: So then Johnny doesn't know what to say. He has
- 47:36Speaker 1: no idea who He just assumes this is just Charlotte's
- 47:38Speaker 1: random friend. So not only did Charlotte come over, not
- 47:41Speaker 1: only did Charlotte come over, but she brought another kid,
- 47:43Speaker 1: so he broke She broke the rules twice. So then
- 47:46Speaker 1: Johnny's like, get pissed.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Didn't I tell you no kids told you?
- 47:50Speaker 1: So then Johnny Johnny goes, look, here's paper plates. But
- 47:54Speaker 1: you can't sit at the grown up stable. You gotta
- 47:57Speaker 1: sit over there.
- 47:59Speaker 9: No, he didn't even say that. She does make a
- 48:01Speaker 9: plate and take it home.
- 48:02Speaker 2: We were like, made a plate and we wanted to
- 48:08Speaker 2: eat a little bit, and I was like please. Johnny
- 48:10Speaker 2: was like, fine, like go sit in the corner.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Wait wait, wait, no, wait, just as he just as he,
- 48:16Speaker 1: just as Charlotte and Olivia Rigo fill up their paper
- 48:18Speaker 1: plates to go sit in the corner, Johnny's daughter comes
- 48:21Speaker 1: out and her face drops, like, holy shit, what is
- 48:29Speaker 1: Rego doing in our house?
- 48:30Speaker 3: Like high school musical?
- 48:32Speaker 1: Like if like like if like if jay Z walked
- 48:35Speaker 1: into your house, Donald, Yeah, it'd be a moment of what.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Sweet Billy she like almost started crying, I think, like
- 48:45Speaker 2: it was so like what she was shut Billy, like,
- 48:50Speaker 2: can I please talk to you and tell you how
- 48:52Speaker 2: much you've affected me? Johnny was like, okay, girls, it's
- 48:54Speaker 2: you gotta get up.
- 48:55Speaker 1: At this time, Johnny's like no. At this point, Johnny's
- 48:58Speaker 1: like I don't understand what's going on.
- 48:59Speaker 2: And we're like john Johnny's like leave. He still kicked
- 49:01Speaker 2: us out. You didn't understand it.
- 49:03Speaker 1: He was like, I don't know who you are, but
- 49:04Speaker 1: you still left to go.
- 49:08Speaker 2: He was like, I don't get what's happening, but you
- 49:10Speaker 2: guys have.
- 49:13Speaker 3: For some reason, my daughter is lost.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Yeah. He was like, all right, Billy, you gotta go
- 49:19Speaker 1: give her your compliments, give her her compliments, but then
- 49:21Speaker 1: take your paper plates and go.
- 49:24Speaker 2: I also remember when we were inside I went, this
- 49:28Speaker 2: is just a random little tibbit. I went to grab
- 49:30Speaker 2: There was like two different things of ribs. One had less,
- 49:33Speaker 2: one had a lot, And I went to grab the
- 49:34Speaker 2: one that had less because they looked a little different,
- 49:36Speaker 2: and he goes, not that.
- 49:37Speaker 4: One that one.
- 49:38Speaker 2: I was like, what, like, you wouldn't let me get
- 49:39Speaker 2: like the nice rib left vers He was so bummed
- 49:43Speaker 2: about it.
- 49:44Speaker 1: She couldn't have the good ribs.
- 49:47Speaker 2: I couldn't have the good ribs.
- 49:48Speaker 1: So then then we left and I remember I think
- 49:51Speaker 1: we all came back and we played code names, right Charlotte.
- 49:54Speaker 1: We played some games.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Didn't Billy say something to Johnny C being like, did
- 49:59Speaker 2: you just kid go out of our house?
- 50:01Speaker 1: Like yeah, by the way, I just was on on
- 50:04Speaker 1: Instagram reels or one of those things, and I saw
- 50:06Speaker 1: like her latest content. It was like a clip from
- 50:09Speaker 1: her concert. It was huge, I don't know how big
- 50:11Speaker 1: the fucking a massive touring now anyway, it was like this.
- 50:15Speaker 1: It was like this giant crane move you know whatever,
- 50:20Speaker 1: that flew back to show I don't know, forty thousand people,
- 50:23Speaker 1: and I sent it to Johnny. I was like, this
- 50:24Speaker 1: is the girl.
- 50:28Speaker 9: I just saw her show at the forum.
- 50:30Speaker 2: It was so wonderful. I think she did like five
- 50:32Speaker 2: nights there or something like that, and it was a
- 50:34Speaker 2: ten out of ten and people just these girls like
- 50:37Speaker 2: die for her. It was really awesome.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Yeah, well, she's really good. I got to say. I
- 50:41Speaker 1: got to say, she's Incredible's incredible.
- 50:44Speaker 3: And to get that feeling back from the audience when
- 50:49Speaker 3: you start singing and you know it's a vulnerable situation,
- 50:53Speaker 3: and then out of nowhere when they are starting to
- 50:56Speaker 3: when they start to reciprocate the love and the energy,
- 50:59Speaker 3: it's got to be surreal, dude.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it definitely is. And I've only experienced it on
- 51:04Speaker 2: small scales compared to her obviously, Like I even in
- 51:09Speaker 2: a room though of two hundred people, having them sang
- 51:12Speaker 2: your songs back to you and just love what you
- 51:15Speaker 2: created out of something that was deeply painful for me.
- 51:18Speaker 2: At least, I tend to write more about stuff that hurts,
- 51:22Speaker 2: and watching these people relate to it and sing it
- 51:25Speaker 2: back to me is such an indescribable feeling. And it's
- 51:29Speaker 2: just like pure drugs, Like it's so and gratitude. It
- 51:33Speaker 2: makes me cry and it's really hard for me. I
- 51:35Speaker 2: feel I cry the most when I feel like happy,
- 51:38Speaker 2: I guess, or lucky or grateful or like empathetic or
- 51:42Speaker 2: whatever it must be, versus like very sad about something.
- 51:45Speaker 2: And I really have to like I've cried at so
- 51:47Speaker 2: many shows. I really have to bite my tongue to
- 51:50Speaker 2: not cry at these shows. And when I see like
- 51:52Speaker 2: Olivia's show and I see these girls just like idolizing
- 51:57Speaker 2: her and her music and singing these songs by turn
- 51:59Speaker 2: being so by the words that she wrote, the first
- 52:02Speaker 2: part of me feels just so happy for her and
- 52:05Speaker 2: so proud of her, and almost like a big sister
- 52:07Speaker 2: proud of her because I just have loved her for
- 52:08Speaker 2: so long. And then secondly feels like, oh my god,
- 52:11Speaker 2: I want this so badly. I want to be where
- 52:12Speaker 2: she is at the Forum and.
- 52:14Speaker 9: At Masses Regarded.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I think we have a chance.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Let's take a break.
- 52:18Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. Donald, do
- 52:27Speaker 1: you have to go? Do you have time for one
- 52:28Speaker 1: more story?
- 52:29Speaker 3: I listen If I'm late for this ship, I'm.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Not going to get wet it.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Can we for one second talk about how much fun
- 52:36Speaker 2: we had in Vegas?
- 52:38Speaker 3: Yeah, we had a great time, dude, I really want
- 52:40Speaker 3: to talk about this stuff. I really do. I fucking
- 52:42Speaker 3: gotta go to do you hate me?
- 52:44Speaker 2: Do you want? Do you want me to kill?
- 52:46Speaker 3: I'm going to get my heart checked three times.
- 52:49Speaker 2: It makes it real much it's gonna happen.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Now, do you have five five minutes or five minutes?
- 52:55Speaker 3: Let's go?
- 52:55Speaker 1: Okay, Charlie, can we tell the one about Elton John?
- 52:57Speaker 2: And So I don't drink and I don't. I mean
- 53:05Speaker 2: I'll have like a drink on an occasion or birthday
- 53:07Speaker 2: or whatever, but I really don't drink. And I don't
- 53:09Speaker 2: do any sort of drugs except and I quit weed,
- 53:12Speaker 2: except for mushrooms. I will dabble in an occasional mushroom
- 53:16Speaker 2: instead of drinking a little microdose.
- 53:19Speaker 1: We have five minutes, we go to Vegas.
- 53:23Speaker 2: It's me, my dad, my boyfriend, my mom, Zach and
- 53:29Speaker 2: Matt Tarsus and Ka Tarsus, Matt who is one of
- 53:31Speaker 2: my dad's writing partners, and everything.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Yeah right around scrubs and rubs and collaborating with Bill
- 53:37Speaker 1: on the new Steve Carell schok ahead and I'm bad.
- 53:39Speaker 2: Monkey the whole shabam. And I took a ship ton
- 53:42Speaker 2: of mushrooms to go see you two at the sphere
- 53:46Speaker 2: tie off of my rockers.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Okay, as one does. Cut to Charlotte wearing sunglasses in
- 53:51Speaker 1: the casino.
- 53:52Speaker 2: At three in the morning, and Andrew gets the phone
- 54:00Speaker 2: FaceTime call from Elton John, who is an avid facetimer
- 54:05Speaker 2: And when I say that, I mean eight times a
- 54:07Speaker 2: day facetimer face. He's literally the best man of all time,
- 54:10Speaker 2: and he loves the.
- 54:11Speaker 9: FaceTime and he's obsessed with and and he's obsessed.
- 54:14Speaker 2: With Andrew and me if I'm a ad because like
- 54:17Speaker 2: I love him to like we're also besties. Anyways, he
- 54:20Speaker 2: says to Andrew, was like, oh, I want, like, let
- 54:22Speaker 2: me say. I had to Charlotte and I'm sitting there
- 54:24Speaker 2: high off of my brains, sunglasses on, at this pizza
- 54:27Speaker 2: place that everyone's eating pizza ad and I'm just like,
- 54:29Speaker 2: I can't eat pizza, candyizza, Katy pizza, like I'm seeing
- 54:32Speaker 2: demons and like rainbows. And Andrew gives me the phone
- 54:36Speaker 2: and it's Elton John, and everybody at the table, my
- 54:39Speaker 2: parents and Matt Charts and everyone were like, oh, like
- 54:41Speaker 2: Elton John is on face. I'm like this is crazy,
- 54:43Speaker 2: and I just go him my love love you, so
- 54:46Speaker 2: gotta go hang up on him. And Andrew goes, Charlotte,
- 54:50Speaker 2: do you just hang up on Elton John?
- 54:52Speaker 9: Like what?
- 54:53Speaker 2: Everyone was like, what the fuck?
- 54:55Speaker 9: Dude?
- 54:55Speaker 2: Like that was insane. I go, I'm too high for
- 54:56Speaker 2: Elton right now? Can't he.
- 55:05Speaker 5: The way?
- 55:06Speaker 1: First of all, the way I heard the story was
- 55:08Speaker 1: that you barked at Andrew the funniest sentence known to man. Babe,
- 55:12Speaker 1: I am way too high to FaceTime with Hilton John
- 55:14Speaker 1: right now.
- 55:19Speaker 3: It was the deal.
- 55:19Speaker 2: I go, Babe, I am way too high to deal
- 55:22Speaker 2: with Elton John right now.
- 55:23Speaker 3: Look, look, we had the best time in Vegas. I
- 55:27Speaker 3: want to go back to Vegas again. We said we
- 55:28Speaker 3: were going to make it a quarterly.
- 55:30Speaker 1: We're going for f one Charlotte. If you want to
- 55:32Speaker 1: come with us, I'm in ring Andrew and Yeah, we'll
- 55:39Speaker 1: bring Randy. All Right, we got to go because Donald
- 55:41Speaker 1: Ne's that his hard check Charlotte Lawrence, check out Bad Monkey,
- 55:44Speaker 1: check out her music on Spotify or Apple. Charlotte Lawrence,
- 55:47Speaker 1: you're gonna love everything about her. She's gonna be a
- 55:49Speaker 1: big star. And you're going to say I heard about
- 55:51Speaker 1: her first on Fake Doctor's Real Friends. Well, she's such
- 56:03Speaker 1: a character, and she's so funny and we didn't really
- 56:07Speaker 1: have time to get into her life, but I have
- 56:09Speaker 1: to say about her. I know the audience you might
- 56:11Speaker 1: be like, oh my god, this young woman's life is
- 56:13Speaker 1: so crazy, but she's such a kind person. I mean,
- 56:17Speaker 1: for a kid who grew up in Hollywood, obviously with
- 56:20Speaker 1: wealthy parents, totally in the crazy scene. I'm just so
- 56:24Speaker 1: impressed with her. She really kind of got partying out
- 56:27Speaker 1: of her system early, and like you said, she barely drinks.
- 56:31Speaker 1: She quit smoking weed, she was smoking cigarette, she quit
- 56:33Speaker 1: smoking cigarettes. She really has such a good head on
- 56:36Speaker 1: her shoulders, and she lives this insane life because her
- 56:40Speaker 1: boyfriend is one of the top producer music producers in
- 56:43Speaker 1: the world. Her father is one of the top show
- 56:45Speaker 1: runners in the world, and so she has these insane
- 56:48Speaker 1: stories and she just tosses them out. They're never like
- 56:51Speaker 1: Braggadote show. She's always like she like sends me a
- 56:54Speaker 1: still She's like, she's sent me a picture on my iPhone. Look,
- 56:56Speaker 1: I'm playing Backgamma with Mick Jagger. And it's not like bragging.
- 57:01Speaker 1: Its song like she's bragging. She's like, holy shit, can
- 57:03Speaker 1: you believe this is my life? And she's just a really,
- 57:06Speaker 1: really sweet person, and I genuinely believe a lot of talent,
- 57:09Speaker 1: so I'm not just saying that as her uh, as
- 57:11Speaker 1: her pseudo uncle.
- 57:13Speaker 2: UH.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Check out her music. The song you heard earlier is
- 57:15Speaker 1: one of my favorites. Just check out her music. If
- 57:18Speaker 1: you like uh, if you like sad girl pop like me,
- 57:22Speaker 1: that's everybody. Thanks for tuning in, and we'll see you
- 57:25Speaker 1: next time.
- 57:26Speaker 7: Five Six stories that show we made about a bunch
- 57:32Speaker 7: of dogs and nurses.
- 57:35Speaker 3: He said, He's a story naturals.
- 57:39Speaker 1: No, so yeada ra here, yeada ra here Up
