  Speaker 1: God calls your name, first, Samuel three ten says, the

  Speaker 1: Lord came and stood there, calling, as at other times

  Speaker 1: Samuel Samuel. Then Samuel said, speak where your servant is listening.

  Speaker 1: Have you ever felt a gentle nudge in your spirit

  Speaker 1: prompting you can't explain. Maybe it was an urge to

  Speaker 1: pray for someone, forgive someone who hurts you, take a
• 0:34
  Speaker 1: step of faith, or simply be still in a moment.

  Speaker 1: That's often how God speaks. He doesn't always shout over
• 0:41
  Speaker 1: the noise of life. More often, he speaks with a
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: gentle whisper that reaches the heart of those who are
• 0:47
  Speaker 1: willing to listen. As a young boy, Samuel faithfully served
• 0:53
  Speaker 1: in the temple under the priest Eli. One night he
• 0:56
  Speaker 1: heard his name called. Thinking it was Eli, Samuel ran

  Speaker 1: to him three different times. He didn't realize it was

  Speaker 1: the voice of God. Finally, Eli understood what was happening

  Speaker 1: and instructed Samuel, the next time you hear the voice,

  Speaker 1: say Lord, speak for your servant is listening. When Samuel

  Speaker 1: responded with a willing heart, God revealed his plans and

  Speaker 1: began unfolding Samuel's divine purpose. The same God who calls

  Speaker 1: Samuel is calling you today. The question isn't whether God
• 1:30
  Speaker 1: is speaking, The question is are we listening. Our world
• 1:35
  Speaker 1: is filled with distractions, social media, breaking news, opinions from
• 1:39
  Speaker 1: family and friends, the pressure to succeed in even our
• 1:43
  Speaker 1: own fears can become so loud that we missed the
• 1:47
  Speaker 1: quiet voice of the Holy Spirit. Yet beneath all the
• 1:51
  Speaker 1: noise is the reassuring voice of a loving father who
• 1:55
  Speaker 1: knows exactly where you are and exactly where he's trying
• 2:00
  Speaker 1: to lead you. God isn't calling you to confuse you.

  Speaker 1: He's calling you because he has purpose for your life.

  Speaker 1: He's calling you into greater peace, greater faith, greater influence,
• 2:12
  Speaker 1: and greater intimacy with him. Every time he speaks is
• 2:16
  Speaker 1: because he wants to guide you toward his very best
• 2:20
  Speaker 1: for your life. So today make room for his voice.

  Speaker 1: Turn down the volume of everything competing for your attention,
• 2:28
  Speaker 1: Spend a few quiet moments in his presence, Open his word,
• 2:32
  Speaker 1: Pray with expectation, listen with your heart. You may not
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: hear an audible voice, but you'll sense his peace, his
• 2:39
  Speaker 1: direction and his wisdom leading your next step. The next
• 2:46
  Speaker 1: time you feel that gentle prompting, don't ignore it. Don't
• 2:49
  Speaker 1: dismiss it as a coincidence. Instead, respond, like Samuel did.

  Speaker 1: That simple response could be the big of a greater
• 3:01
  Speaker 1: season of your life. Heavenly Father, thank you for loving
• 3:05
  Speaker 1: us enough to speak into our lives. Thank you that
• 3:08
  Speaker 1: we don't have to depend on the opinions of others
• 3:11
  Speaker 1: to discover our purpose because you promise to lead those
• 3:14
  Speaker 1: who trust you. Help us to quiet the distractions that
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: compete for our attention. Teach us to recognize your voice
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: above every other voice. Give us a heart that is
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: willing to obey even when we don't understand every detail.

  Speaker 1: We declare that we will be sensitive to the leading
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: of the Holy Spirit and courageous enough to follow wherever
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: you lead. Speak Lord, because your servants are listening. In

  Speaker 1: Jesus' name. Now that's your word for today. Take it
• 3:41
  Speaker 1: applied to your everyday life, and you continue to be
• 3:43
