Speaker 1: One last ride for the twenty twenty three fantasy football season.
0:14
Speaker 1: It is another edition of the Stardom Cidam Show. Thank
0:17
Speaker 1: you so much for joining us all season long. Thank
0:19
Speaker 1: you so much for joining us today. I am Marcus Grant.
0:22
Speaker 1: He is Michael F. Florio. He is the author of
0:24
Speaker 1: the Stardom cidem column, which you can read at NFL
0:27
Speaker 1: dot com slash start set. Uh. Do you feel he
0:30
Speaker 1: added pressure for Championship Week?
0:32
Speaker 2: Yes?
0:33
Speaker 3: Like I told people to start brees Hall great, I
0:35
Speaker 3: told people to sit Jerome Ford and you could guess
0:38
Speaker 3: which one mentions we're talking about more.
0:40
Speaker 1: And nobody says thank you for the ones that you
0:42
Speaker 1: get right, but they also let you know about all
0:43
Speaker 1: the ones that you get wrong. By the way, if
0:45
Speaker 1: you haven't seen, check out NFL Fantasy Live where David
0:47
Speaker 1: and Joe who has a special message for our own
0:49
Speaker 1: Adam Rank. That's all I'm gonna say about it.
0:51
Speaker 3: Uh.
0:51
Speaker 1: Anyway, we've got the top starts in since of week seventeen.
0:54
Speaker 1: We're gonna tell you who's gonna pile up the points,
0:55
Speaker 1: and Lawan Jones gonna stop by to help us give
0:58
Speaker 1: out some end of season zero wards. Let's dive right
1:01
Speaker 1: into this with your start sit quarterbacks for Week seventeen.
1:05
Speaker 3: Who do you like Dak Prescott and what could be
1:07
Speaker 3: a score fest? Matthew Stafford has been red hot, Kyler
1:10
Speaker 3: Murray in a good matchup, and c J. Stroud is
1:12
Speaker 3: back so he could be back for fantasy. The sits
1:15
Speaker 3: two with tongue of II LOOA. Trevor Lawrence is just
1:18
Speaker 3: beat up bad right now. Jacoby Brissett is on the
1:20
Speaker 3: injury report him or Sam Howse sid and then Gardner
1:23
Speaker 3: Minshew because the Raiders defense is revamped under Antonio Pierce.
1:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, they look way way better recently. Let's dive into
1:30
Speaker 1: some of these individually. Kyler Murray, I mean, hasn't been great.
1:33
Speaker 1: He looks like a guy who missed a good part
1:35
Speaker 1: of the season rehabbing an ACL injury. But the Eagles
1:38
Speaker 1: we have been picking on all season long. I don't
1:40
Speaker 1: know why we stop now exactly.
1:43
Speaker 3: And Kyler did bounce back last week with twenty Fantasy points,
1:46
Speaker 3: his third time in his last five games reaching that number.
1:49
Speaker 3: But like Marcus said, it's more about the matchup. The
1:51
Speaker 3: Eagles have allowed these six most passing yards per game
1:54
Speaker 3: this season, second most passing touchdowns, most fantasy points per
1:57
Speaker 3: game to quarterbacks, Plus they generate pressure up front, which
2:01
Speaker 3: could mean we see a lot more tucking and running
2:03
Speaker 3: from Kyler Marray.
2:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll see how things go. I kind of like
2:06
Speaker 1: Rondelle Moore is like a deep sleeper in this one,
2:08
Speaker 1: kind of for the same reasons there. You mentioned CJ.
2:11
Speaker 1: Stroud is back after missing the last couple of games
2:13
Speaker 1: in concussion protocol. I feel like just telling people to
2:17
Speaker 1: start him more of a reminder than any sort of
2:19
Speaker 1: actual analysis kind of thing.
2:22
Speaker 2: Yeah.
2:22
Speaker 3: I was originally going to talk up Russell Wilson, but
2:24
Speaker 3: something happened there where he's not anymore, So we go
2:29
Speaker 3: with CJ. Stroud, who, like Marcus said, is back, so
2:32
Speaker 3: it's a reminder just to start him.
2:35
Speaker 2: The ceiling is so high.
2:36
Speaker 3: He still has the highest individual game of all quarterbacks
2:41
Speaker 3: this season, where he scored over forty one fantasy points.
2:44
Speaker 3: We saw the Texans be able to throw against the
2:46
Speaker 3: Titans a couple weeks ago with case Keenum, who looked
2:48
Speaker 3: terrible last week, so I expect much better results for Stroud,
2:52
Speaker 3: especially with a healthy Nico Collins and a healthy Noah
2:54
Speaker 3: Brown there as well.
2:56
Speaker 1: To a tongue of Ailoa and the Dolphins offense. I mean,
2:58
Speaker 1: it's been the talk of the league most of the season.
3:01
Speaker 1: The weird part about that is that he has not
3:03
Speaker 1: played well against good defenses. This week he's facing a
3:06
Speaker 1: good defense in the Baltimore Ravens, and so I assume
3:09
Speaker 1: that's why you say he's a sit.
3:11
Speaker 3: It's partially why I say he's a sit. The other
3:13
Speaker 3: reason is because well, Tua just has not been great
3:16
Speaker 3: for fantasy as of late. His last time topping twenty
3:20
Speaker 3: fantasy points was Week eight. In the last month, he
3:22
Speaker 3: is giving you fewer than thirteen fantasy points per game.
3:25
Speaker 3: Now he gets the Ravens. They've allowed they're in the
3:27
Speaker 3: bottom three and fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. They just
3:30
Speaker 3: shut down brock Purty and co there and Jalen Wattle
3:33
Speaker 3: is out. Tyreek Hill is banged up, as is Raheem Mostert.
3:36
Speaker 3: So because of all his weapons being banged up, the
3:38
Speaker 3: fact that he hasn't been great for fantasy and it's
3:40
Speaker 3: a tough matchup, I think you play it safe and
3:42
Speaker 3: go with another option.
3:43
Speaker 1: I mean, the way the Ravens shut down brock Purty
3:45
Speaker 1: in the forty nine ers last week would make me
3:47
Speaker 1: very concerned if I had to in a lineup this week.
3:50
Speaker 1: Those are the guys throwing the football. Let's take a
3:52
Speaker 1: look at some of the guys catching the football. Your
3:54
Speaker 1: start sit receivers for the week.
3:56
Speaker 3: Rashid Rice must start. I've been telling you to start
3:59
Speaker 3: t Higgins for weeks now. I'm not shying away. In
4:01
Speaker 3: Championship week, Brandon Nyuk and all of your forty nine
4:04
Speaker 3: ers must star at options, as is Nico Collins. Since
4:08
Speaker 3: this one spicy, we're going to talk about it. Stefan Diggs,
4:11
Speaker 3: Drake London, Deontaey Johnson, and Joshua Palmer. If he suits up,
4:15
Speaker 3: it doesn't matter.
4:16
Speaker 2: Sit them.
4:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, things are weird right now for the Chargers. We'll
4:20
Speaker 1: see what happens, especially with Keenan Allen this week. D
4:23
Speaker 1: and P's early in the weeks he has that heel injury.
4:26
Speaker 1: Let's talk about Rashi Rice though, because he really has
4:30
Speaker 1: been one of the bright spots in a Chiefs wide
4:32
Speaker 1: receiver room that has been underwhelming to say the least.
4:36
Speaker 1: We keep waiting for the big bag breakout game by
4:38
Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes. Does that mean Rashi Rice eats as well? Yeah?
4:41
Speaker 3: I think this is the week that Mahomes gets right,
4:43
Speaker 3: and I think it leads to his top wide receiver
4:46
Speaker 3: and light lately top target in Rashi Rice. So she
4:49
Speaker 3: Rice has nine or more targets in five straight games.
4:53
Speaker 3: And for a while we've been saying he brings a
4:55
Speaker 3: safe floor. He's good for like eleven twelve Fantasy points
4:58
Speaker 3: per week. We're seeing a high ceiling to go with
5:01
Speaker 3: that as of late. So between the say floor, the volume,
5:04
Speaker 3: the more upside. We've been seeing the great matchup because
5:07
Speaker 3: they've allowed the most yards to wide receivers since week twelve,
5:10
Speaker 3: and I think Mahomes eats.
5:12
Speaker 2: That means you play Rashi Rice.
5:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, Rashi Rice really maybe challenging Travis Kelce for the
5:17
Speaker 1: top target in the offense or maybe not. Stefan Diggs
5:22
Speaker 1: very good receiver in a swamp right now. He has
5:25
Speaker 1: been on the struggle bus, maybe even driving the struggle
5:28
Speaker 1: bus at this point. So you're saying to get away
5:30
Speaker 1: from him against the Patriots.
5:32
Speaker 3: With a caveat a lot of people have been tweeting
5:34
Speaker 3: me all week long like hey, I have this like
5:36
Speaker 3: Puka Nakua ver Stefon Diggs, stuff like that. Go with
5:39
Speaker 3: your other really good option if you have Stefan Diggs.
5:42
Speaker 3: Don't sit digs for say George Pickens or Rashi Shied
5:46
Speaker 3: or someone like that. It always depends on your options.
5:49
Speaker 3: But Stefan Diggs seven point nine Fantasy points last week,
5:53
Speaker 3: less than ten per.
5:54
Speaker 2: Game since Week ten.
5:56
Speaker 3: I know he had a long touchdown catch that could
5:58
Speaker 3: have been that was an interception because it was underthrown.
6:01
Speaker 3: But this is a third straight year where December is
6:03
Speaker 3: the worst statistical month for Stefan Diggs. Now he does
6:07
Speaker 3: have a history of success against the Patriots. He is
6:09
Speaker 3: Stefon Diggs. He's going to break out of this eventually.
6:11
Speaker 3: But again, if you have another solid option, that is
6:14
Speaker 3: where you get away from Stefan Diggs.
6:16
Speaker 1: And this is it really is nervous time for a
6:19
Speaker 1: lot of folks with Stefan Dicks because it's hard to
6:21
Speaker 1: make that decision, especially if you have two guys that
6:24
Speaker 1: are sort of similar. We are just getting started here.
6:27
Speaker 1: We're gonna talk some running backs and tight ends coming up.
6:29
Speaker 1: Stick around for more of the Stardum Sidum show. Time
6:37
Speaker 1: for some Week seventeen Starham Centum running backs. Florio go I.
6:41
Speaker 3: Don't care about the matchup. You have to start your
6:43
Speaker 3: lines running backs. Jonathan Taylor is a volume play against
6:46
Speaker 3: the Raiders. Austin Eckler, Hopefully we get an air guitar
6:49
Speaker 3: show this week. DeAndre Swift is a must start running
6:52
Speaker 3: back this week, and I think ty Chandler remains in play.
6:55
Speaker 3: TUPA Hubbard, if you have another option, I would try
6:58
Speaker 3: to get away from him.
6:59
Speaker 2: Khalil Herbert, it's a trap.
7:00
Speaker 3: And AJ Dillon, I know he scored a touchdown last week,
7:03
Speaker 3: still at less than eight Fantasy points.
7:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, man, AJ Dillon, Quadzilla. Just I don't know, man,
7:09
Speaker 1: it's just frustrating. Let's talk about some of these guys
7:11
Speaker 1: individually though, because ty Chandler, I don't know if the
7:14
Speaker 1: takeover of the backfield is complete, but it's very much
7:17
Speaker 1: underway there in Minnesota.
7:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, even with Madison last week, he played sixty five
7:21
Speaker 3: percent of the snaps and I know he only had
7:24
Speaker 3: eight carries.
7:25
Speaker 2: That's because they.
7:26
Speaker 3: Were trailing the entire game pretty much and they were
7:28
Speaker 3: playing in one of the tougher matchups for a running back.
7:32
Speaker 3: But now he's going to get a favoral matchup against
7:35
Speaker 3: the Packers, who've allowed these six most rushing yards to
7:37
Speaker 3: backs this season, the ninth most fantasy points per game,
7:41
Speaker 3: and it just could be a competitive game, especially with
7:43
Speaker 3: it being a rookie quarterback. Look for a lot of
7:45
Speaker 3: dumpoffs and I think they're going to try to establish the.
7:47
Speaker 1: Run early on in this one. Yeah. I do think
7:49
Speaker 1: we see a lot of ty Chandler in this one.
7:51
Speaker 1: Love him in this matchup, Khalil Herbert. I don't know
7:54
Speaker 1: about you. I want no parts of the Bears backfield,
7:56
Speaker 1: mostly because I have no idea what they're doing in
7:59
Speaker 1: the backfield right now exactly.
8:01
Speaker 3: Last week was a big Herbert week. The week before
8:03
Speaker 3: was a big Roashawn Johnson game. The week before that
8:06
Speaker 3: was a big Deontay Forming game. It is a guessing game,
8:08
Speaker 3: and it is not one you should put your fantasy
8:11
Speaker 3: championship hopes on trying to guess right, especially in this matchup.
8:16
Speaker 3: I know Khalil Herbert went off last week one hundred
8:18
Speaker 3: and twelve yards a touchdown, but it came against the Cardinals,
8:21
Speaker 3: who are the very best matchup for running backs. No
8:23
Speaker 3: team allows more fantasy points per game to the position.
8:26
Speaker 3: Now they play the Falcons, who have allowed one rushing
8:28
Speaker 3: touchdown to running backs all season and the third fewest
8:31
Speaker 3: fantasy points per game again. It is a trap. Do
8:34
Speaker 3: not chase the points from last week. You missed out
8:36
Speaker 3: on them, You're not getting them this week.
8:38
Speaker 1: It is really a true hotthand situation, and that's really
8:41
Speaker 1: a tough way to live.
8:42
Speaker 2: If you guess right.
8:42
Speaker 1: Congrats to you. I don't want to have to be
8:44
Speaker 1: in that situation. Let's take a look at your start
8:47
Speaker 1: sit tight end four week seventeen.
8:50
Speaker 3: Sam Laporta. I know he's been up and down. There's
8:52
Speaker 3: too much upside to get away though. Isaiah likely safe floor,
8:55
Speaker 3: high ceiling, and Darren Waller will talk about I think
8:58
Speaker 3: it's time to get away from Dalton Kincaid. Unfortunately Tucker
9:02
Speaker 3: Kraft if you're deeper, going deeper, he's in play. But
9:05
Speaker 3: I would ideally try to get away Kyle Pitts, I'm
9:07
Speaker 3: done with the Falcons, and then unfortunately Tays some hill
9:11
Speaker 3: that's where we are.
9:12
Speaker 1: He's just done with the Falcons, like I never thought
9:14
Speaker 1: we'd get there. Let's talk about Darren Waller though, because
9:17
Speaker 1: we know Tommy DeVito to the bench, Tyrod Taylor is
9:20
Speaker 1: the starting quarterback, and I just I like Darren Waller
9:23
Speaker 1: at the start of the year. He obviously unfortunately got
9:26
Speaker 1: hurt at some point. I just think volume, if nothing else,
9:28
Speaker 1: sort of wins the day here.
9:29
Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's the thing. The Rams are a great
9:32
Speaker 3: matchup for tight ends. They've struggled against the position.
9:34
Speaker 2: All year long.
9:35
Speaker 3: Right now they are top five and yards, touchdowns, and
9:39
Speaker 3: fantasy points per game allowed to the position, their top
9:42
Speaker 3: five and yards on the year, and in the last
9:45
Speaker 3: month or so. And his best Fantasy game of the
9:48
Speaker 3: year came in one of three games with Tyrod Taylor.
9:51
Speaker 3: His fourth best game was also in that three game
9:53
Speaker 3: span with Tyrod Taylor. So in a game where I
9:56
Speaker 3: think the Giants have to throw the ball a bunch,
9:58
Speaker 3: Darren Waller is in play. I told you he would
10:00
Speaker 3: win you fantasy championships this year. It's just not how.
10:03
Speaker 1: We drew it up, not the way you thought it
10:05
Speaker 1: would happen, but it could happen. Nonetheless, I think you
10:07
Speaker 1: mentioned Taysom Hill is a sit this week. I keep saying, like,
10:11
Speaker 1: you can't really predict Taysom Hill. Taysom Hill just sort
10:14
Speaker 1: of happens, but I don't know if it's gonna happen
10:16
Speaker 1: this week.
10:16
Speaker 3: There was a stretch where we were like, he brings
10:18
Speaker 3: a very high ceiling and it's starting to look like
10:20
Speaker 3: a safe floor as well. Then he missed that game
10:23
Speaker 3: and it's just there's no coming back. It seems like
10:25
Speaker 3: sit for Taysom Hill point two fantasy points he scored
10:29
Speaker 3: last week in his last two games one point seven
10:32
Speaker 3: fantasy points combined. Three rushing attempts in those two games,
10:36
Speaker 3: two or fewer targets in each. He's not throwing the
10:39
Speaker 3: ball as much. They use four tight ends. It was
10:41
Speaker 3: a fun ride for Taysom Hill, but it is not
10:43
Speaker 3: one you should hit your championship wagon too. Yeah, I
10:46
Speaker 3: just you know, I think we always sort of knew
10:48
Speaker 3: it was gonna end this way. There was just not
10:49
Speaker 3: a lot of consistency with Taysom Hill and that Saints
10:52
Speaker 3: offense pretty much all season long.
10:54
Speaker 2: We are not done. It is time to hand out some.
10:57
Speaker 1: Awards as we get to the end of the Fantasy
10:59
Speaker 1: seas and Lawan Jones will stop by to help us
11:01
Speaker 1: out with that when we come back on the Stardom
11:03
Speaker 1: cidem Show. It's time for the Stardom Cinema Awards aka
11:13
Speaker 1: the Startes and to help us hand out some hardware
11:16
Speaker 1: at the end of the season. Here, Lakwan Jones who
11:19
Speaker 1: you can't tell by the looks of it, he's actually
11:21
Speaker 1: from New Jersey, despite the fact that everything he's wearing
11:23
Speaker 1: says California on it, but on second home, Welcome to
11:27
Speaker 1: the show, Welcome back to the show. I guess it's say.
11:30
Speaker 1: So we each have three awards that we are giving out.
11:32
Speaker 1: You can do the math. That's nine awards that we're
11:34
Speaker 1: going to hand out here. So please LQ, you can
11:37
Speaker 1: start us off.
11:38
Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not being a homer here, but.
11:40
Speaker 1: I think it's facts.
11:41
Speaker 2: It's true.
11:41
Speaker 4: Kyvirin Williams is the fantasy MVP man. At one point,
11:45
Speaker 4: this guy was on the waiver wire backup to cam
11:47
Speaker 4: Makers and thankfully the cam Makers and charl McVay toxic
11:51
Speaker 4: relationship has come to an end. But he just showed
11:53
Speaker 4: up and showed out. And like it's been a while
11:55
Speaker 4: since we've seen Todd Gurley like numbers in the Rams offense.
11:59
Speaker 4: So Selman back to call in the plays, having fun,
12:02
Speaker 4: nice touch, adding Micha Lafloor to that office, and you
12:05
Speaker 4: got to look at this offense now and how it's running.
12:07
Speaker 4: Like I wasn't familiar with his game, obviously, I didn't.
12:09
Speaker 1: Know he was so explosive.
12:11
Speaker 4: I mean, like this guy is just putting up historical numbers, man,
12:13
Speaker 4: And I think this opens up the conversation and him
12:16
Speaker 4: as a first round pick next year.
12:17
Speaker 1: Man, that is an interesting conversation. Maybe the back end,
12:22
Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm just gonna say no right now, and
12:24
Speaker 1: not not because he's not great and having a great season.
12:27
Speaker 1: I just don't know that we draft running backs like
12:30
Speaker 1: that in fantasy right now. Well, I'm down to have
12:33
Speaker 1: my mind change. Between now and August, we can have
12:35
Speaker 1: that conversation. He's the new Todd Gurley in a way.
12:38
Speaker 4: In a way. Look at the numbers, it's there. I mean,
12:40
Speaker 4: he's catching passes like girly. I mean, it's very exciting
12:43
Speaker 4: as a Rams fan to see this run game get
12:45
Speaker 4: back to where it needs to be at twenty seven vibes,
12:48
Speaker 4: twenty seventeen.
12:49
Speaker 2: Vibes for sure.
12:50
Speaker 1: All right, all right, so we'll see. But Kyron Williams
12:52
Speaker 1: right now is his vote off for the Fantasy MVP Florida.
12:56
Speaker 1: What is your first award you would like to hand out?
12:58
Speaker 3: The Odell Beckham Junior Reward for a rookie wide receiver
13:02
Speaker 3: of a generation, because go look back at what Odell
13:05
Speaker 3: did in twelve games his rookie year. No one will
13:07
Speaker 3: ever touch that rookie pace. But there's someone who's coming
13:11
Speaker 3: close this year. It is Pooka Nkua sticking with the Rams.
13:15
Speaker 3: Look I know right now he's on pace to finish
13:18
Speaker 3: with just about a little bit more than what Justin
13:20
Speaker 3: Jefferson and Jamar Chase did as rookies. The difference is
13:24
Speaker 3: we knew Jamar Chase for years before he set out
13:27
Speaker 3: his final year of college. He was that enshrined as
13:29
Speaker 3: a first round pick. We knew who Justin Jefferson was.
13:32
Speaker 3: We were clowning the Eagles before Jefferson even stepped on
13:34
Speaker 3: the field for not picking him. No One, no one
13:38
Speaker 3: in their right mind thought Pooka Nakoula was gonna do this.
13:40
Speaker 3: I loved Pooka Nakoula in the summer.
13:42
Speaker 2: I would have settled for him being a wide receiver three.
13:45
Speaker 2: He has a wide receiver one.
13:46
Speaker 3: Even Pooka Nakula himself was like, yeah, I was working
13:49
Speaker 3: on my blocking because I thought that was the only
13:50
Speaker 3: way I was gonna get on the field.
13:51
Speaker 2: And yet he is doing what he is doing. So
13:54
Speaker 2: the Odell.
13:55
Speaker 3: Starty of the Year goes to Pooka Nikoua.
13:57
Speaker 1: You know, look, I'm not gonna lie. I drafted him
13:59
Speaker 1: on some best ball teams, but it was end of draft, like, hey,
14:03
Speaker 1: let me just I'm gonna throw this guy in here
14:05
Speaker 1: just to see what might happen. I got back and
14:07
Speaker 1: looked at some of those best ball teams. He was
14:08
Speaker 1: easily the best CS. I don't know a lot of
14:11
Speaker 1: those best ball teams this year. Yeah, it's been absolutely
14:14
Speaker 1: amazing to watch. And I think the best part is
14:16
Speaker 1: that Nikua did what he did and Cooper Cup was
14:18
Speaker 1: still able to eat at the same time. And that's
14:21
Speaker 1: maybe credit to Matthew Stafford, credit to Sean McVay and
14:24
Speaker 1: what they've done with this offense. I'm gonna go with
14:28
Speaker 1: the Chicken and Waffles Award, two things that you maybe
14:31
Speaker 1: didn't think go together but ended up being way better
14:33
Speaker 1: than you imagined. And while I don't have a current RAM,
14:36
Speaker 1: I have a former Ram, Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans
14:40
Speaker 1: because when Baker took over the starting job there in Tampa,
14:43
Speaker 1: we all had jokes. Right, we're gonna talk about the
14:46
Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield cycle about you know, plays bad, your taught
14:50
Speaker 1: trash talks inferior opponent wins, so on and so forth,
14:53
Speaker 1: and a lot of us. I know me, I know
14:55
Speaker 1: Florio looked at Mike Evans and said, well, historak of
14:58
Speaker 1: a thousand yards is probably gonna this year with Baker
15:00
Speaker 1: mayfielded quarterback. Wrong that that was almost to one thousand
15:04
Speaker 1: yards by like week seven. I mean, that's how good
15:07
Speaker 1: things were with Baker and Mike Evans. Evans is a
15:10
Speaker 1: free agent this offseason. We'll see what happens, but somebody
15:14
Speaker 1: is going to pay this man big money, and let's
15:16
Speaker 1: be real, Baker Mayfield has a lot to do with it.
15:20
Speaker 1: So I will I will throw this out there for you, Florio.
15:23
Speaker 1: Are we gonna go through another offseason where we just
15:25
Speaker 1: ignore and downgrade and let Mike Evans slip to like
15:28
Speaker 1: the sixth or seventh round?
15:30
Speaker 3: No, cuse my look, you call this an early off
15:32
Speaker 3: season prediction. I think he's still gonna be wearing red
15:34
Speaker 3: and white next year, but he's gonna be catching passes
15:36
Speaker 3: from Patrick Mahomes.
15:38
Speaker 1: Oh spice, spicy, spicy. Indeed to you, lak On, what
15:46
Speaker 1: is the next award you would like, the next starty
15:48
Speaker 1: you would like to hand out?
15:49
Speaker 2: Look?
15:49
Speaker 4: You snooze, you lose man, because raheem mostered the season
15:53
Speaker 4: he's having. Man, he is exploded on the scene. He
15:55
Speaker 4: was just chilling those later rounds over summer, Man, just sleeping,
15:58
Speaker 4: you know, with the expectation is Devon a Chan and
16:01
Speaker 4: Jeff Wilson Junior returning and stuff. But you know he
16:03
Speaker 4: was just, hey, I'm here. I'm thirty one, but you
16:06
Speaker 4: know we're good and I'm still here being explosive.
16:08
Speaker 1: Man.
16:09
Speaker 4: This dude's top three in rushes of ten plus yards.
16:11
Speaker 4: He's leading the league in touchdowns. What more can you say?
16:14
Speaker 4: This was the biggest wake up call to the fantasy
16:16
Speaker 4: streets man. And I think you opened the conversation earlier
16:18
Speaker 4: this week Marcus about where do you draft this guy
16:21
Speaker 4: next year?
16:22
Speaker 2: Yeah?
16:22
Speaker 1: And I think, look, I think most people seem to
16:24
Speaker 1: have it right, like, this is the guy who's probably
16:26
Speaker 1: gonna go fourth round or so, he's gonna be a
16:29
Speaker 1: year older. This is a guy who before this year
16:31
Speaker 1: did have a pretty extensive injury history. Davon ah Chan
16:35
Speaker 1: is still going to be there. It's still going to
16:36
Speaker 1: be in offense that's heavy with Tua and Tyreek. So
16:40
Speaker 1: I think what he did this year was nice. Twenty
16:43
Speaker 1: one touchdowns or however many, however many he ends up
16:46
Speaker 1: the season over this season, it feels, I want to
16:49
Speaker 1: say it, He's not gonna score twenty plus touchdowns next year.
16:52
Speaker 2: I'm gonna go out on that limb.
16:53
Speaker 1: So I do think people are sort of valuing him properly.
16:57
Speaker 3: I do want to give kudos though, because back in
16:59
Speaker 3: like May, in this very room on the podcast, we
17:02
Speaker 3: said which Dolphins running back should you target? And you
17:05
Speaker 3: two made such a compelling case for Raheem Mostert. He
17:08
Speaker 3: was my most drafted running back this year.
17:12
Speaker 1: I mean I honestly did it because it was the
17:14
Speaker 1: perfect combination of like potential, production and value right because
17:19
Speaker 1: he was the guy that was going the latest out
17:20
Speaker 1: of everybody in that backfield. I'm like, still a good player, man, Like,
17:24
Speaker 1: oh my god, I love to be like the RB two.
17:28
Speaker 1: He's still a good player. Wins count the same, They
17:30
Speaker 1: still count the same, all right, So though you snooze,
17:33
Speaker 1: you lose, A word goes to raheemos or congratulations to him, Floria,
17:37
Speaker 1: What is the next award you'd like to hand out?
17:39
Speaker 3: The Kyle Pitts, Because if you remember back when Kyle
17:42
Speaker 3: Pitts was a prospect and then a rookie.
17:44
Speaker 2: All you heard about was this is the.
17:46
Speaker 3: Generational tight end, the tight end rookie that is going
17:49
Speaker 3: to end the streak that you can't draft rookie tight ends.
17:52
Speaker 3: And he had a good rookie year, but you know
17:53
Speaker 3: he's having a great rookie year.
17:56
Speaker 2: Sam Laporta.
17:57
Speaker 3: Sam Laporter right now is a top three fantasy tight end.
18:01
Speaker 3: You hear all the time, Oh, rookies can't be tight
18:03
Speaker 3: end ones.
18:03
Speaker 2: This guy easily. With Hockinson hurt.
18:06
Speaker 3: He has to outscore Travis Kelce this week and he
18:08
Speaker 3: will finish the fantasy season as the tight overall tight end,
18:13
Speaker 3: one tight end of a generation.
18:15
Speaker 2: All of that. I've already said on the.
18:17
Speaker 3: Podcast earlier this week that he is going to be
18:19
Speaker 3: in the conversation to be the first tight end off
18:21
Speaker 3: the board next year. I had him ranked as a
18:23
Speaker 3: tight end one coming into this season. He was one
18:26
Speaker 3: of my most drafted tight ends because you were able
18:27
Speaker 3: to get him in the double digit rounds and I'm
18:29
Speaker 3: sure you.
18:29
Speaker 2: Guys have him on plenty of teams.
18:31
Speaker 3: Those teams that have Sam Laporta, it's an immediate leg
18:34
Speaker 3: up on the rest of your competition.
18:35
Speaker 1: Laporta was another one, sort of like in the coup.
18:37
Speaker 1: I think I drafted laport a little bit earlier, but
18:39
Speaker 1: it was late and like he was a second tight end.
18:42
Speaker 1: It's like I drafted a guy and I'm like, you
18:43
Speaker 1: know what, I'm gonna draft Sam Laporta too, just because
18:45
Speaker 1: I like him. And again I go back and he
18:47
Speaker 1: was easily the best tight end on a lot of
18:49
Speaker 1: those Bestball teams this year. He's so Florida and I
18:55
Speaker 1: on the podcast reason we're talking about is he a
18:56
Speaker 1: top three tight end? And that was before TJ. Hawkinson
18:59
Speaker 1: got hurt for his ACL MCL. Does this mean, OLQ,
19:02
Speaker 1: he's a top two drafted tight.
19:04
Speaker 2: End Listen, I'm on board.
19:05
Speaker 4: I mean, look, Jared goff Man, we see him target
19:08
Speaker 4: him as like one of the top guys outside of
19:10
Speaker 4: him an right saying brown. So you got to look
19:12
Speaker 4: at the tight end pool and it's like some of
19:14
Speaker 4: these guys are getting old and some of these young
19:16
Speaker 4: guys are showing up, showing now in their first year.
19:18
Speaker 1: Man, So Sam Laporter, I'm on board for the top two.
19:20
Speaker 1: Would you take him ahead of Travis Kelcey? Absolutely? Oh I,
19:25
Speaker 1: sir one hundred percent. This is this is the conversation
19:28
Speaker 1: we have this offseason. Do you take Sam Laporta ahead
19:32
Speaker 1: of Travis Kelcey. We got plenty of time to argue
19:34
Speaker 1: this one. My next award, it's the Haley's Comment Award.
19:38
Speaker 1: It's the player who burned bright and then just disappeared
19:41
Speaker 1: from our lives. That would be Zach Moss. Right. I
19:43
Speaker 1: didn't play Week one, he was hurt, had the broken arm.
19:46
Speaker 1: I believe it was Jonathan Taylor was still trying to
19:49
Speaker 1: figure out his contract situation with the Colts, but when
19:52
Speaker 1: he came in in Week two just went bananas. In
19:55
Speaker 1: the first few weeks that he was on the field,
19:57
Speaker 1: Zach Moss was amazing, and even when Jonathan Taylor showed up,
20:01
Speaker 1: Moss was still putting up numbers and eventually just kind
20:04
Speaker 1: of petered out. And even midway through the season when
20:08
Speaker 1: Taylor got hurt again, we thought, well, hey, Zach Moss
20:10
Speaker 1: did great, let's put.
20:11
Speaker 2: Him in the lineup.
20:12
Speaker 1: Nope, it didn't really work out, and now has really
20:14
Speaker 1: just disappeared. In fact, he has already been ruled out
20:17
Speaker 1: for Week seventeen. Zach Moss was great early in the season,
20:21
Speaker 1: just sort of kind of faded away by the time
20:24
Speaker 1: it was all said and done. I don't even know
20:27
Speaker 1: what really did say about it, other than they had
20:30
Speaker 1: to be there. Yeah, you just had to be there.
20:33
Speaker 1: I think that's probably the perfect way to say, you
20:35
Speaker 1: just had to be there. If you enjoyed that Zach
20:38
Speaker 1: Moss period of your life, look back on it with funness.
20:41
Speaker 1: Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened, and
20:45
Speaker 1: enjoy that in your fantasy roster. Meanwhile, LQ, this next
20:48
Speaker 1: award maybe not so nostalgia.
20:51
Speaker 4: Man, oh Man, come on, bro sky Moore.
20:54
Speaker 2: What happened?
20:55
Speaker 4: The expectations for him this off season were high, man,
20:58
Speaker 4: I mean, like the off season height. I bought into
20:59
Speaker 4: it along with other fantasy managers. We did not get
21:02
Speaker 4: the return that we were hoping for. But like his
21:05
Speaker 4: second year, we were expecting him to step up. You know,
21:07
Speaker 4: of all seasons, how the Chiefs are playing right now
21:09
Speaker 4: in that wide receiver room and what it is. We
21:11
Speaker 4: thought he was going to be able to step up
21:13
Speaker 4: and be at least a second or third option in
21:15
Speaker 4: this offense. But I don't know what happened. I don't
21:17
Speaker 4: know if it's he's running the wrong routes. The chemistry
21:20
Speaker 4: is off no opportunity to get on the field, not
21:22
Speaker 4: being utilized profitly, no offense. But whatever it is, Man,
21:25
Speaker 4: it's just been bad. So I might be done done
21:27
Speaker 4: with sky Moore. Man, this project might have to be
21:30
Speaker 4: set to an end.
21:31
Speaker 1: The sky has fallen in Kansas, that Kansas City.
21:35
Speaker 3: We had Kadarius Tony's name to that as well.
21:37
Speaker 1: Because that's just a general life career award, like he
21:42
Speaker 1: get a lifetime achievement. Come on, it used to be studied. Yeah,
21:47
Speaker 1: the sky Moore thing it is. I didn't draft a
21:51
Speaker 1: lot of him, but I did start to buy into
21:52
Speaker 1: the thing that he could be a guy this year.
21:56
Speaker 1: And it just chalked that up as another in a
21:58
Speaker 1: long line of really bad wide receiver draft picks for
22:03
Speaker 1: the Chiefs. You go back, you look over the last decade.
22:06
Speaker 1: Tyreek Hill easily the best of them. And even Tyreek
22:09
Speaker 1: was what like a fourth or fifth round pick. He
22:10
Speaker 1: was a later round guy. Nobody expected him to blossom
22:13
Speaker 1: into what he has become. The Chiefs have really been
22:16
Speaker 1: bad when it comes to drafting wide receivers, and sky
22:19
Speaker 1: Moore maybe, look, she Rice maybe turns that around for
22:22
Speaker 1: them before that, and again he wasn't really a high
22:26
Speaker 1: draft pick, so we'll see how that one goes. All right, Floria,
22:29
Speaker 1: you have one more award you'd like to hang a handout.
22:32
Speaker 3: Yeah, I've kind of celebrated players that I was high
22:35
Speaker 3: on the last two. But part of this job is
22:37
Speaker 3: also eating crows. So the turn my Headphones Up award
22:41
Speaker 3: goes to Rashad White because.
22:42
Speaker 2: Volume wins out.
22:44
Speaker 3: All summer long, I kept saying, like, yes, I understand
22:46
Speaker 3: this guy's going to get a lot of volume.
22:48
Speaker 2: Early on, he is.
22:49
Speaker 3: Very inefficient, one of the most inefficient running backs in
22:52
Speaker 3: the league. He continued to be inefficient for much of
22:54
Speaker 3: this season. I mean last week he averaged us in
22:56
Speaker 3: two yards per carry, but it didn't matter because he
23:00
Speaker 3: got so much volume. They started throwing him the ball
23:02
Speaker 3: like Baker Mayfield was Tom Brady and that kind of
23:05
Speaker 3: flipped a switch. And around like week six or so,
23:08
Speaker 3: Rashad White went from being a running back that was
23:10
Speaker 3: very disappointing to being one that was a potential league
23:13
Speaker 3: winner and a top ten running back.
23:15
Speaker 2: So I will take the l on.
23:17
Speaker 3: Fading Rashad White. And if you drafted him against what
23:20
Speaker 3: I said, kudos to you because it worked.
23:23
Speaker 1: Out in a big way. I drafted him, but I
23:26
Speaker 1: didn't draft him like, oh yeah, I'm excited about it.
23:28
Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know, you're the best guy right
23:31
Speaker 1: now on the board. So I drafted. But I guess
23:34
Speaker 1: this sort of applies to a lot of the Buccaneers offense, right,
23:37
Speaker 1: I mean, like I gave the Chicken and Waffles Award
23:39
Speaker 1: to Baker and Mike Evans because I don't know that
23:42
Speaker 1: we had high expectations for the Buccaneers.
23:44
Speaker 3: Gery ce Haynes is he deserves Canalys.
23:50
Speaker 2: That's it.
23:50
Speaker 3: He deserves a look at a head coaching gig because
23:53
Speaker 3: he revamped Baker this year. Last year he revamped Gino Smith.
23:57
Speaker 2: Guy knows what he's doing a little bit.
23:58
Speaker 1: Apparently he's able to take sort of journeyman quarterbacks and
24:01
Speaker 1: make them make them into a thing. Here. So the
24:04
Speaker 1: last award that we're handing out it is the New
24:08
Speaker 1: York Times Sunday Crossword Award. AKA, you're not going to
24:11
Speaker 1: solve this one, Gabe Davis. There were a lot of
24:15
Speaker 1: options here because I thought about George Pickens, he was
24:17
Speaker 1: kind of the runner up for this award, but gave
24:19
Speaker 1: Davis is the guy that we most could not figure
24:23
Speaker 1: out this year. He was the Cardio King of the
24:26
Speaker 1: Week on Fantasy Live at least four times this season.
24:30
Speaker 1: The guy who just ran a whole lot and didn't
24:33
Speaker 1: have any production to show for it. He had multiple
24:35
Speaker 1: games with zero points. These weren't games where he was
24:39
Speaker 1: hurt or inactive. These were games where he suited up
24:43
Speaker 1: and ran a lot of routes and just didn't provide
24:47
Speaker 1: anything statistically for the Bills or your fantasy team. I'm
24:51
Speaker 1: old enough to remember a couple of summers ago where
24:53
Speaker 1: he was like the flash point on Fantasy Twitter where
24:56
Speaker 1: you sit all you do is just tweet the words
24:58
Speaker 1: Gabe Davis and you would start off fight about whether
25:01
Speaker 1: or not he was hashtag good or not. At this point,
25:05
Speaker 1: he is what he is. He is the quintessential better
25:07
Speaker 1: and best ball guy. If you are trying to start
25:10
Speaker 1: him on a week to week basis, godspeed to you.
25:12
Speaker 1: Because there are no analytics, There is no amount of
25:15
Speaker 1: game film watching that is going to give you any
25:19
Speaker 1: sort of clue as to win. Gabe Davis is going
25:22
Speaker 1: to do things. And you're a Bills fan, you have
25:25
Speaker 1: no idea, do you?
25:26
Speaker 2: Nope?
25:26
Speaker 1: Uh?
25:26
Speaker 3: And The thing is, I think for his second straight year,
25:29
Speaker 3: he's about to finish around where his ADP was. So
25:32
Speaker 3: if you just looked at the end of the year,
25:33
Speaker 3: you'd be like, oh, Gabe Davis, we haven't figured out.
25:35
Speaker 3: And then you look at week to week and you're like,
25:37
Speaker 3: this guy is the ultimate headache, the ultimate roller coaster ride.
25:40
Speaker 1: I mean, you just I'm gonna I'm going back to
25:42
Speaker 1: look at him right now, Right as I sit here,
25:44
Speaker 1: I'm filibustering as I try to type in his name.
25:46
Speaker 3: So I believe he's the top like thirty six wide
25:49
Speaker 3: receiver on the year.
25:49
Speaker 1: So he's got one hundred and fifty seven Fantasy points, right,
25:52
Speaker 1: I mean I'm looking at his his game los Right
25:53
Speaker 1: we won five points week two, twenty one, Week ten?
25:56
Speaker 1: Are we three? Ten? Week four? Fifteen? Then twenty two,
25:59
Speaker 1: then you'll three one, twenty three zero nine zero, twenty
26:05
Speaker 1: two zero zero, twenty three. Like it's either all of
26:11
Speaker 1: the points or none of the points. That's it with
26:14
Speaker 1: gabad Or.
26:14
Speaker 4: If he played Fantasy, would he play hisself?
26:16
Speaker 1: We probably not? That is just crazy. If Jave Davis
26:23
Speaker 1: were playing Fantasy, could gave Davis trade himself to someone
26:26
Speaker 1: else or would they be like nah, bro, family friend, I.
26:29
Speaker 3: Just don't know even there, like no, we can't figure
26:32
Speaker 3: out though We're good.
26:34
Speaker 2: So there you go.
26:35
Speaker 1: Congratulations to everyone who want to start, unless it was bad,
26:37
Speaker 1: in which case, uh sorry that happened to you. Anyway,
26:41
Speaker 1: it's time now for club. He's the guys. We guarantee
26:44
Speaker 1: WI score you at least twenty five Fantasy points this week. Lakwan,
26:47
Speaker 1: who do you got this week?
26:48
Speaker 4: It's been a while since I've been affiliate to get
26:50
Speaker 4: a good cheese steak. So we're rolling with DeAndre swift
26:54
Speaker 4: Man with the probably the best matchup he has this
26:56
Speaker 4: season against his Cardinals defense, who are allowing the most
26:59
Speaker 4: rushing arts per game and they're also top five and
27:02
Speaker 4: mistackles on run play. So he's being set up with
27:04
Speaker 4: a lay up here, and the Eagles have been really
27:06
Speaker 4: leaning on him in back to back games. He's had
27:09
Speaker 4: twenty touches, so the volumes there and the production has
27:11
Speaker 4: been there. So I think he's set up for a
27:13
Speaker 4: good situation here because it looks like the Eagles are
27:16
Speaker 4: leaning on him in the ground game on the back
27:19
Speaker 4: end of the season right now, and I know all
27:21
Speaker 4: the Philly fans are screaming like, yo, run the ball.
27:23
Speaker 4: So Swift has looked really good these past two weeks,
27:26
Speaker 4: so I think twenty five points are definitely on the
27:28
Speaker 4: table for in the grab.
27:29
Speaker 1: Here's the thirty little secret.
27:31
Speaker 2: They are running the ball.
27:33
Speaker 1: They're running it a lot, just maybe not as much
27:34
Speaker 1: as people want them to be. But they're one of
27:36
Speaker 1: the run heavier offenses in the league over the last
27:38
Speaker 1: three weeks. Florio, you got to bounce back, guys your
27:42
Speaker 1: club dub.
27:43
Speaker 3: Brock Purdy because look, I understand the vast majority of
27:46
Speaker 3: you out there who have Brock Purdy, like myself in
27:48
Speaker 3: the Fantasy Live League.
27:49
Speaker 2: You're playing for third place.
27:51
Speaker 3: But if you survived last week, like I am, facing
27:54
Speaker 3: him in one of my championship games. I don't know
27:56
Speaker 3: how the other person survives what Brock gave him last week,
27:59
Speaker 3: but if you manage to get by and you're in
28:01
Speaker 3: a championship game, you don't stop starting him.
28:03
Speaker 2: Now.
28:04
Speaker 3: The Commanders, they are a team we've been picking on
28:07
Speaker 3: all week, all year. They allow a bunch of production
28:09
Speaker 3: through the air, top two and Fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks,
28:13
Speaker 3: and then the Niners are angry. Debo's gonna eat Ayuk
28:16
Speaker 3: is gonna eat. Kittle will probably eat. We know CMC's
28:18
Speaker 3: gonna get in on the fun, and the person who
28:20
Speaker 3: gets the points for all of those tight end is
28:22
Speaker 3: brock Party.
28:23
Speaker 2: Yeah.
28:23
Speaker 1: I love Rock Purty. I love the whole Niners team
28:26
Speaker 1: to bounce back this week after kind of getting humbled
28:28
Speaker 1: last week. Hey, this is gonna make you happy, though,
28:31
Speaker 1: because my my guarantee is that Matthew Stafford balls out.
28:35
Speaker 1: And not just because I sat Joe Flacco to start
28:37
Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford in one of my championship leagues, but because
28:41
Speaker 1: Stafford has been on absolute fire at least two touchdown
28:45
Speaker 1: passes for six straight games. He is as hot as
28:49
Speaker 1: anybody in the league. The Rams offense is as hot
28:51
Speaker 1: as any offense in the league. The Giants defense looks vulnerable,
28:55
Speaker 1: so I think Stafford keeps it rolling that that means
28:57
Speaker 1: you can start obviously Cooper cup who Knacoup. I like
29:00
Speaker 1: DeMarcus Robinson as a flex option this week. We already
29:04
Speaker 1: know that apparently Kien Williams is the fantasy MVP Kwan,
29:08
Speaker 1: So the Rams They're going to ram it. The Ramilly
29:11
Speaker 1: is going to enjoy the holidays. I have no other
29:14
Speaker 1: Ram punts go you. That warms my heart. What we'll
29:19
Speaker 1: also do is show set up a really interesting Week
29:21
Speaker 1: eighteen showdown between the forty nine ers and the Rams.
29:25
Speaker 1: The Niners could need that game to try and lock
29:27
Speaker 1: up the number one seed in the NFC. The Rams,
29:30
Speaker 1: I don't know. If they win this week, do they
29:31
Speaker 1: lock up a playoff spot? I'm not sure.
29:33
Speaker 4: Listen, they do and they will and we're gonna They're
29:35
Speaker 4: gonna stop you guys.
29:36
Speaker 1: Okay, so how about you just lock up the playoff
29:38
Speaker 1: spot you lay down in Week eighteen? You let the
29:40
Speaker 1: Niners get the one seed in the by and everybody
29:42
Speaker 1: is happy this way? Absolutely not.
29:46
Speaker 3: Can we agree that it should be a week where
29:48
Speaker 3: both Pooka and Cup, hopefully because it's always like kind.
29:50
Speaker 1: Of one or the other both this week, I'm time
29:53
Speaker 1: with that. All in I should check to see if
29:55
Speaker 1: my opponent has other one of those guys, but as
29:57
Speaker 1: of the moment, I'm cool with that. So let's go
30:00
Speaker 1: it at that. This is our final Stardom Citdam show
30:02
Speaker 1: of the season, and just want to thank all of
30:04
Speaker 1: you out there for watching and engaging with us all
30:07
Speaker 1: year long. I also want to thank all the specialists
30:09
Speaker 1: and I don't have all the names, and so I
30:11
Speaker 1: don't want to try. But I appreciate all of you
30:13
Speaker 1: guys for helping us out with this so much. For
30:15
Speaker 1: Madison Sanders, who puts this show on, who does the
30:18
Speaker 1: heavy lifting and putting together the rundown every single week.
30:21
Speaker 1: We couldn't do the show without show for real, for real,
30:23
Speaker 1: So I am grateful for all of you. For everybody
30:25
Speaker 1: out there, it is championship week. Best of luck to
30:28
Speaker 1: you in your championships, bring home that hardware, enjoy the weekend,
30:33

30:35
Speaker 1: Cindam Show. For Michael left Foyle, for Lakwan Jones, I
30:37
Speaker 1: am Marcus Grant. We appreciate you checking us out. Best
30:40
