- 1:47Speaker 1: Do you have anything to say?
- 1:48Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 1:49Speaker 1: What else? Is there anything going on with our lives?
- 1:52Speaker 2: No?
- 1:54Speaker 1: Oh I do? I know. Okay, So it was not
- 1:59Speaker 1: a body in the road. This is the first time
- 2:01Speaker 1: I've ever, you know, ever ever seen a body like
- 2:04Speaker 1: and I'm not trying. I don't want to laugh because
- 2:06Speaker 1: it's but I just laughed when things are uncomfortable. But
- 2:08Speaker 1: this was a bit of a crazy story. So I'm
- 2:11Speaker 1: headed home from work and I drive by and I
- 2:16Speaker 1: was like, is that a person? There was like a
- 2:18Speaker 1: person laying like laying down flat with their head to
- 2:22Speaker 1: the side, and it looked like their eyes were closed
- 2:25Speaker 1: and they were like sprawled out on the side of
- 2:27Speaker 1: the frontage road. So before you start, there was no
- 2:32Speaker 1: absolutely no way for me to safely pull over. They
- 2:35Speaker 1: were like in the middle. Imagine a service road where
- 2:37Speaker 1: it's like fifty five miles an hour. Yeah, a feeder road,
- 2:41Speaker 1: super busy. There's a loop there that you can get on.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Everybody's going like freaking ninety five miles an hour, and
- 2:49Speaker 1: I come around there and there's no driveways or anything
- 2:52Speaker 1: or anywhere to pull off to go and check on
- 2:54Speaker 1: this person. And two, based on where we are, probably
- 2:57Speaker 1: was drugs involved. So I'm also not gonna get my
- 3:00Speaker 1: face eaten off by somebody. So like, I like pull
- 3:03Speaker 1: around or I see this and I'm like, oh my god,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I think that's like a person, you know, laying on
- 3:09Speaker 1: the side of the road. And so I was like,
- 3:11Speaker 1: you know, you go through your hair, You're like, should
- 3:12Speaker 1: I call nine one one? And You're like, no, someone
- 3:14Speaker 1: probably already called or whatever. Then I was like, oh
- 3:16Speaker 1: my god, what if nobody's called and I'm and everybody
- 3:19Speaker 1: else thinks somebody else called. So I called nine one one,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and I think I might have been the first one
- 3:24Speaker 1: to call because which is a shame because it's a
- 3:26Speaker 1: very busy area. But everyone I'm assuming it's like that
- 3:30Speaker 1: bystander effect, you know, where everyone thinks the other person's
- 3:33Speaker 1: gonna step in and do something. So anyway, so I called, Well,
- 3:36Speaker 1: of course I am terrible. You can have to do
- 3:39Speaker 1: I am terrible north south east west, left right right,
- 3:46Speaker 1: So I'm having to I'm trying to explain to the
- 3:48Speaker 1: nine one one operator. I'm like, yeah, I've said I
- 3:50Speaker 1: couldn't pull over and think I said it wasn't safe
- 3:52Speaker 1: to pull over and everything. So I'm trying to explain
- 3:57Speaker 1: to her where she's and she's like, is it on
- 3:59Speaker 1: the I was like, it's by the achib, And then
- 4:01Speaker 1: I realized that the achib was on the other side
- 4:05Speaker 1: of the road, and I was like, no, it's on
- 4:07Speaker 1: the opposite side. But then I was thinking, oh, but
- 4:09Speaker 1: it's like at a four way area, so she could
- 4:11Speaker 1: have thought it was on that side. So I was like, no,
- 4:13Speaker 1: it's down by the encompass. Help And then I said
- 4:16Speaker 1: if you then she's asking me, So then I just
- 4:19Speaker 1: basically explain how I get on from work and where
- 4:22Speaker 1: this is. That this is also this is not funny
- 4:24Speaker 1: that I hope. I tried to check the news to
- 4:26Speaker 1: see if if the person was okay, but honestly, it
- 4:30Speaker 1: probably was like a drug situation. But anyways, it's it's
- 4:36Speaker 1: not funny the situation with the person. I'm just saying
- 4:40Speaker 1: that it's funny because I'm like the worst person to
- 4:44Speaker 1: be describing a location of anything, you know. Yeah, So
- 4:50Speaker 1: I'm trying to explain this to this person. And anyways,
- 4:53Speaker 1: they knew the general area, and she she I think
- 4:56Speaker 1: she got it down. But then I was saying, oh, yeah,
- 4:59Speaker 1: whenever you're headed to Andrews. But actually it was in
- 5:01Speaker 1: the headed towards the direction of Odessa. But then STUD
- 5:04Speaker 1: was like, oh, well you can get to Andrews that
- 5:05Speaker 1: way too, so she probably understood. But they were sending
- 5:09Speaker 1: police and ambulance over there. You know.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I feel like maybe I should have stopped or something.
- 5:15Speaker 1: But it wasn't safe at all. I mean I would
- 5:16Speaker 1: have caused a I would have caused a wreck, and
- 5:19Speaker 1: then we really would have had a situation. And it
- 5:23Speaker 1: was a larger I don't know if it was male
- 5:25Speaker 1: or if the person was male or female, but I
- 5:30Speaker 1: don't know. It just wasn't a good situations to It
- 5:33Speaker 1: wasn't a good situation. We're probably everyone's probably not in
- 5:38Speaker 1: like carryer a terrible person, but I know, but they
- 5:40Speaker 1: could have if they were on drugs or something, they
- 5:42Speaker 1: could attack you.
- 5:43Speaker 2: You should have got out and made sure they didn't
- 5:45Speaker 2: name the mouth mouth.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Oh my god. And anyway, so I don't know. I
- 5:50Speaker 1: called nine on one and I guess I was the
- 5:52Speaker 1: first person to call. But yeah, that's what happened on
- 5:55Speaker 1: the way home from work today.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Good times.
- 5:58Speaker 1: But I really really if there been maybe a place
- 6:01Speaker 1: to pull in. But they're they're honest to god, wasn't
- 6:03Speaker 1: it was. It's super busy and very and everybody's like
- 6:07Speaker 1: speeding and stuff through there. It's dangerous just to drive
- 6:10Speaker 1: through there. I can't imagine trying to pull over and
- 6:13Speaker 1: see what's going on. So anyways, all.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Right, interesting story.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Interesting story on my way home from work. But I'll
- 6:22Speaker 1: try to find out what happened to the person. But
- 6:24Speaker 1: again I think it's it seemed like maybe a drug situation.
- 6:28Speaker 1: So I don't know if they'll even report on that,
- 6:31Speaker 1: but if they do, I will let you guys know.
- 6:35Speaker 1: It might have been a trap we don't know to do.
- 6:37Speaker 1: They might have been waiting for someone.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Waiting just for you. Yes, that Carroll girl that does
- 6:42Speaker 2: that podcast.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna get to today's the day motherfuckers. Anyways, all right, Well,
- 6:49Speaker 1: if you think I did a terrible thing and I
- 6:50Speaker 1: was in the wrong, then please don't keep it to
- 6:53Speaker 1: yourself and everything, all right, So that was my day today.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Put added to the list of interesting items that have
- 7:04Speaker 1: happened to me. And I guess we'll go ahead and
- 7:08Speaker 1: get into what was that That wasn't a child? It
- 7:13Speaker 1: might have been outside, I don't know. You know the
- 7:18Speaker 1: kids that throw the rocks in her pull or whatever. Well,
- 7:20Speaker 1: we haven't heard much from here lately, but someone did
- 7:24Speaker 1: post about them in the facebook group, the neighborhood facebook
- 7:26Speaker 1: group and put the address because one of the little
- 7:29Speaker 1: girls was like running out in the street and then
- 7:31Speaker 1: just telling them to the car to shoe after they
- 7:33Speaker 1: almost hit them with the car, like like like what
- 7:37Speaker 1: are you doing? Like why are you why is the
- 7:39Speaker 1: car there? So the girl just like was telling him
- 7:42Speaker 1: to go or whatever after like get away from here
- 7:45Speaker 1: after she almost hit got hit by a car because
- 7:48Speaker 1: the person. Yeah. Yeah, So someone was like whoever lives
- 7:53Speaker 1: at and put the address and I didn't put two
- 7:56Speaker 1: and two to go with the at tude in two
- 7:58Speaker 1: with the address until the people that own the home
- 8:03Speaker 1: because we had this is also the dog situation house. Okay,
- 8:07Speaker 1: so we had multiple situations. Anyways, I noticed and I
- 8:11Speaker 1: was like, oh, that's close to our house, but I
- 8:13Speaker 1: didn't put I don't know if that's going smaller numbers
- 8:16Speaker 1: or bigger numbers, you know, and uh again, directions things
- 8:22Speaker 1: like that very difficult for me. And then the people
- 8:25Speaker 1: that own the house comment and said, oh, we rent
- 8:28Speaker 1: that house out, so might want to knock on the
- 8:30Speaker 1: door and tell the parents or whatever. And then the
- 8:34Speaker 1: same person that's like the cousin or the ant or
- 8:38Speaker 1: whatever over there, that's also lives in the neighborhood that
- 8:41Speaker 1: came and supposedly got the dog that was whatever. She
- 8:44Speaker 1: calm and she's like, oh, that's my such and such house.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I'll go. I'll make sure and let them know. But yeah,
- 8:50Speaker 1: apparently the little girls just running out on the road
- 8:52Speaker 1: almost go hit by a car and then act like
- 8:54Speaker 1: the car was in the raw, like the car needed
- 8:56Speaker 1: to get out of the plane.
- 8:57Speaker 2: This is my street, Laddy, what are you doing driving?
- 9:00Speaker 1: And it's by a corner, so I mean it is
- 9:01Speaker 1: dangerous and people drive like freaking Nascar up in this place.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the busiest damn street that because everybody leaves
- 9:09Speaker 2: to go to work because they want to go out
- 9:11Speaker 2: that way instead of the other way. But they put
- 9:13Speaker 2: that light in now.
- 9:14Speaker 1: So yeah, so that's what's going on in our world.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Nothing else interesting. I guess that's it. I moved offices.
- 9:26Speaker 1: That's nobody cares about that except for it's added time
- 9:30Speaker 1: to my community. Oh yeah, they're very Probably people were
- 9:34Speaker 1: upset whenever I was talking about the body. And again,
- 9:37Speaker 1: I'm an uncomfortable laugher. If you start talking about how
- 9:40Speaker 1: my mom has passed away, I'll make an uncomfortable joke.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I'll make a joke and make everybody uncomfortable and then
- 9:46Speaker 1: nervously laugh. That's just then leave, walk away. It's like
- 9:52Speaker 1: Claire when she's trying to tell her son that the
- 9:54Speaker 1: neighbor died and she can't stop. That's how I am.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I'll start being like awkwardly smiling when it.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yeah, he died.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Yeah. So that's just who I am as a person.
- 10:06Speaker 1: A terrible person. I'm a terrible person. All right, enough
- 10:10Speaker 1: of that. Let's go ahead and get into our case
- 10:13Speaker 1: out of Oklahoma. So Shirley an Shell nay friend and
- 10:19Speaker 1: that was the last names to friend. So Shirley Shell,
- 10:23Speaker 1: what a great name, was born May twenty eighth, nineteen forty,
- 10:26Speaker 1: in Oklahoma. She would meet Joe Shell her junior year
- 10:31Speaker 1: of high school and they would begin dating. They would
- 10:34Speaker 1: date all through college. They went to like a little
- 10:37Speaker 1: junior college together and this is where Shirley earned an
- 10:40Speaker 1: associate's degree. Now, after college, they would marry and have
- 10:44Speaker 1: three children, Brian, Tracy, and Cindy. Shirley and Joe. They
- 10:49Speaker 1: were described as being just the best of friends. Super
- 10:52Speaker 1: you know, they married their best friend from high school
- 10:56Speaker 1: and they would end up settling in Edmund, Oklahoma, where
- 11:00Speaker 1: Shirley would help Joe build his company, Agrisystems, as well
- 11:04Speaker 1: as be a homemaker. So she did both things, stayed
- 11:09Speaker 1: home with kids as well as helped him out. Edmund
- 11:12Speaker 1: is also a city in Canada's too, and I remember
- 11:18Speaker 1: it because they called it Deadmond because it's got like
- 11:21Speaker 1: a real high murder rate, but it's really lacking in
- 11:25Speaker 1: comparison to the United States. It's called Edmund, but they
- 11:31Speaker 1: call it Deadmond because of the murder rate. But whenever
- 11:35Speaker 1: you look at the murder rate, I mean, we blow
- 11:37Speaker 1: that way out the wall, help the water. I guess
- 11:43Speaker 1: it's the same way they measure it here. Yeah, per capita,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I guess. But like even our mildest cities over here,
- 11:50Speaker 1: like blow that out of the water because we're you know,
- 11:54Speaker 1: a dangerous bunch.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I would say you think yes.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Based on what I saw driving from work to Daste,
- 12:02Speaker 1: things are rough out there.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Okay, face eater, just setting the trap for you.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Yes, so, And it could have been like somebody playing
- 12:10Speaker 1: a practical thinking it's funny, playing a practical joke. You
- 12:13Speaker 1: just don't know. These days, people do all sorts of
- 12:15Speaker 1: thing to get people videos of people, you know, like
- 12:18Speaker 1: get someone to pull over and help them and then
- 12:21Speaker 1: scare them or something. I mean, you just it's hard
- 12:23Speaker 1: to know these days. If what's going on, the only
- 12:26Speaker 1: time I would have stopped, if an adults do it
- 12:28Speaker 1: laying there like that, I'm probably not gonna probably not
- 12:31Speaker 1: gonna stop in the middle of the traffic. But if
- 12:33Speaker 1: it was like a kid or something, then yes I
- 12:35Speaker 1: would stop and help them. Or a kitten or a kitten. Yes, no, Stuart,
- 12:40Speaker 1: don't say that and have me laugh because people are
- 12:42Speaker 1: gonna think I'm terrible. I'm just saying, you guys, can't
- 12:44Speaker 1: You can't trust anything these days. I'm gonna stop digging
- 12:47Speaker 1: myself a hole and get back on to this case.
- 12:51Speaker 1: So as they, you know, go throughout their life. Shirley's
- 12:54Speaker 1: mother was getting older and she would move in with
- 12:57Speaker 1: Shirley and Joe, and she became her primary caregiver. So
- 13:02Speaker 1: Shirley's pretty busy. She's got these, you know, her kids,
- 13:05Speaker 1: raised her kids, helped her husband with his business, and
- 13:08Speaker 1: now she's full time caretaker for her mom. At this point,
- 13:12Speaker 1: Joe was working for a company out of Amrella. I
- 13:14Speaker 1: don't know if he sold his company to them and
- 13:17Speaker 1: continued to stay on or what happened, but he this
- 13:20Speaker 1: company wasn't Amor alone. It was about three hundred miles away,
- 13:23Speaker 1: so he spent a lot of time on the road
- 13:24Speaker 1: and he would frequently spend the night out there where
- 13:29Speaker 1: that company was headquarters were located.
- 13:32Speaker 2: On June fourth, two thousand and seven, Joe headed out
- 13:34Speaker 2: to Amarillo and he met it there at about three
- 13:37Speaker 2: point thirty in the morning when he gets to his hotel.
- 13:41Speaker 1: He did he left. It's about a four hour drive,
- 13:44Speaker 1: so he left pretty late in the evening. But he
- 13:49Speaker 1: didn't like to spend the night away or whatever, so
- 13:51Speaker 1: a lot of times he'd get up super early in
- 13:53Speaker 1: the morning and drive, you know, head out there. But
- 13:56Speaker 1: I guess that night he needed to be there earlier,
- 13:58Speaker 1: so he actually drove. But I guess he wanted to
- 14:01Speaker 1: wait till the latest possible. Man, that's crazy. You don't
- 14:04Speaker 1: want to drive out here at night.
- 14:06Speaker 2: No, not midnight to four, I am no.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I mean look at her in the middle of the day.
- 14:10Speaker 1: There's bodies on the suck of the road. I mean,
- 14:13Speaker 1: this place is freaking apocalypse now. I mean, because Amarillo
- 14:18Speaker 1: is out towards you're going to be driving through no
- 14:20Speaker 1: man's land.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the bunnies and deer and all kinds of
- 14:25Speaker 2: wildlife crossing the road in the dark. No, no, thank you.
- 14:29Speaker 2: We did that coming back from South Padre. It was
- 14:31Speaker 2: not fun. No, and the storms are rolling in. Yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 2: So he got there at three thirty in the morning.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Has this voicemail from Shirley. He listens to it. He
- 14:40Speaker 2: could hear Shirley talking to someone and saying something about
- 14:42Speaker 2: a pen number. Shirley then said Joe call me back,
- 14:47Speaker 2: and she hung up.
- 14:48Speaker 1: But she was real calm. They played the voicemail. She
- 14:51Speaker 1: was very calm during this, so it was odd to him,
- 14:55Speaker 1: but it wasn't distressing. She's not calling up, screaming or
- 14:59Speaker 1: anything like that.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Well, the message was left at about two twenty five
- 15:03Speaker 2: in the morning, so this is an hour before Joe
- 15:06Speaker 2: actually listened to it. He tries calling Shirley back, there's
- 15:09Speaker 2: no answer. Concern. He calls his daughter, who lives about
- 15:13Speaker 2: five minutes away. He asked her of show Goo check
- 15:16Speaker 2: on the house.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Yeah, because the main thing he was really focused on,
- 15:19Speaker 1: because Shirley was so calm and the voicemail, was something
- 15:23Speaker 1: was wrong with Pearl, which was his mother in law,
- 15:26Speaker 1: because she was in very poor health. She couldn't really
- 15:28Speaker 1: see very well and just needed full time supervision and care.
- 15:33Speaker 1: And she was ninety five years old, so I mean
- 15:37Speaker 1: she needed help. And so that's who he thought. Maybe
- 15:41Speaker 1: that there was an issue was with something with Pearl, Yeah.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Because she was not a spry ninety five year old.
- 15:48Speaker 1: No.
- 15:49Speaker 2: The daughter arrives around four am and she immediately goes
- 15:52Speaker 2: to check on Graandma. First, she was not in bed,
- 15:55Speaker 2: but the sheets were pulled back like she had been
- 15:58Speaker 2: in bed. Everything normal in the house. But the daughter
- 16:02Speaker 2: sees that something is off.
- 16:04Speaker 1: She can just sense that's not see Stuart. She can
- 16:07Speaker 1: just sense something's off, like Grandma shouldn't be out of bed,
- 16:11Speaker 1: Grandma should be asleep, you know what. This is all
- 16:14Speaker 1: just weird, like something weird is going on. But nothing
- 16:17Speaker 1: blatantly was on in the open that would immediately cause
- 16:20Speaker 1: her to say something happened, but she just had a
- 16:24Speaker 1: feeling something was off. Oh excuse me, yes, do okay,
- 16:30Speaker 1: you should know these things.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Cut up care. She finds her grandmother and the grandmother
- 16:35Speaker 2: tells her that someone has taken your mother. Now this
- 16:39Speaker 2: is a little concerning it.
- 16:41Speaker 1: But also it's a woman is ninety five.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Years old, and it means full time care.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:47Speaker 2: The daughter inspects the house looking for Shirley when she
- 16:50Speaker 2: comes upon her mother lying in her bed. As she
- 16:54Speaker 2: looks closer, she sees that her mother is on her
- 16:57Speaker 2: side with blood everywhere. She calls not on one one
- 17:00Speaker 2: and in the call, she's screaming that somebody killed my mom.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Police arrive on scene and there was a table where
- 17:08Speaker 1: they find like a little small nightstand slash in table
- 17:11Speaker 1: type thing, and they find Shirley's purse belongings kind of
- 17:15Speaker 1: strewn about. But it was again, it wasn't some flipping
- 17:19Speaker 1: tables and a bunch of chaos and stuff in the house.
- 17:22Speaker 1: It was just all her stuff was kind of pulled
- 17:24Speaker 1: out onto that table. Her wallet was open, and they
- 17:27Speaker 1: do find out that two credit cards are missing. They
- 17:31Speaker 1: also find like a plastic canister like container, you know,
- 17:35Speaker 1: like maybe you would have peanuts or something, and then
- 17:37Speaker 1: you wash it out and you put we have those, yeah,
- 17:39Speaker 1: you put coin. We had almonds in them, and now
- 17:41Speaker 1: they have coins in them. So they find one of
- 17:43Speaker 1: those laying on its side, and like the top is
- 17:47Speaker 1: kind of broken, but it's completely empty. It had loose
- 17:50Speaker 1: change in it and it's completely empty. So nothing else
- 17:54Speaker 1: had really been taken that they could find except for
- 17:56Speaker 1: those few the credit card and.
- 17:59Speaker 2: The change change.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah, credit card, and it was one that Joe kind
- 18:04Speaker 1: of just threw his every day. He'd come in and
- 18:06Speaker 1: empty out his pocket, you know, with his change, and
- 18:08Speaker 1: throw it in there, and then it just sits there
- 18:10Speaker 1: until someone's like, oh, we should roll that and take
- 18:13Speaker 1: it to the bank or something. We should roll our coins.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Do we probably have a bunch? Do you have that
- 18:18Speaker 1: whole thing of quarters? Don't you? I don't know you
- 18:21Speaker 1: have a whole container of quarters? We are you think
- 18:26Speaker 1: they're going to come wrong?
- 18:27Speaker 2: We're gonna come rob us for our quarter pocket change.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I used to get those gold coins and feel like
- 18:34Speaker 1: a pirate back in the day. I remember my mom
- 18:38Speaker 1: got us my mom bought us a little uh, me
- 18:41Speaker 1: and my brother we went and got a bunch of
- 18:43Speaker 1: those gold coins, those little one dollar gold coins, and
- 18:46Speaker 1: so she bought us. I know that Stewart, there are
- 18:52Speaker 1: golden color okay, sat the what do they call those,
- 18:57Speaker 1: the sacaea? Yeah, oh okay. Anyway, those when they had
- 19:01Speaker 1: when they came out with those, I wanted those to
- 19:04Speaker 1: look be like a pirate because I think Pirates of
- 19:06Speaker 1: the Caribean was real big then. So I all went
- 19:08Speaker 1: to hobby lobby and bought me a little like a
- 19:10Speaker 1: little chest or whatever, so I'd keep my gold coins
- 19:13Speaker 1: in the chest. Anyways, I had those gold coins and
- 19:18Speaker 1: it was like, I mean, I think I might have
- 19:19Speaker 1: had I probably at the time it felt rich, but
- 19:22Speaker 1: it was probably like twenty dollars with their gold coins
- 19:24Speaker 1: or something. But I'd keep them in there, like I.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Was a pirate turk, give me some booty.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I knew you were gonna say that. So yeah, So
- 19:34Speaker 1: it's a little bit confusing of a scene because surely
- 19:39Speaker 1: has been murdered. But again we had that calm phone call.
- 19:43Speaker 1: The house doesn't look too crazy or anything like that,
- 19:47Speaker 1: So you know, you would expect maybe like a a
- 19:50Speaker 1: lot of like whenever she called and asked for the pen,
- 19:53Speaker 1: that she would have been, you know, frantic or something.
- 19:55Speaker 1: So it's just strange. So police speak to Pearl and she,
- 20:01Speaker 1: like I said, she's almost blind. They said, she can
- 20:03Speaker 1: see like shapes, and she might be able to see
- 20:07Speaker 1: make a little bit of colors and shadows and everything
- 20:09Speaker 1: like that, but she's completely I mean, she did not
- 20:12Speaker 1: see who did this too. She could not give them
- 20:16Speaker 1: a description whatsoever. She did say she but she can hear,
- 20:20Speaker 1: so she explained what she heard, and she said that
- 20:23Speaker 1: Shirley was speaking to the man and that she was
- 20:25Speaker 1: calm and she never screamed or anything like that. And
- 20:28Speaker 1: she told the man that she would get the money,
- 20:31Speaker 1: and that's when the man said, you're coming with me,
- 20:33Speaker 1: and that's the last that I guess. She didn't even
- 20:36Speaker 1: scream her, she didn't even hear whenever he you know,
- 20:41Speaker 1: killed her and stuff like that. She was probably trying
- 20:43Speaker 1: to be calm for her mom, though I guarantee she
- 20:45Speaker 1: didn't want to upset her mom because her moms can't see.
- 20:48Speaker 1: And if she heard her screaming or something like that,
- 20:51Speaker 1: it would have, you know, the man could have turned
- 20:54Speaker 1: in her mother as well. So in the room where
- 20:58Speaker 1: Shirley was murdered, there were no signs of a struggle,
- 21:01Speaker 1: but the crime scene was very bloody and it was
- 21:05Speaker 1: a violent death. But they could not find the murder
- 21:08Speaker 1: weapon at the scene. They couldn't find a knife, anything
- 21:10Speaker 1: like that, gun, nothing, So they canvassed the neighborhood and
- 21:15Speaker 1: a few people did just say they saw a four
- 21:18Speaker 1: door burgundy car, but the description was pretty general. They
- 21:21Speaker 1: didn't have a make or model or anything. That was
- 21:23Speaker 1: the only thing that they could come up with. Burgundy
- 21:26Speaker 1: is a unique I wouldn't say it's the most common color,
- 21:29Speaker 1: so that's something. So with only that to go on
- 21:34Speaker 1: what the vehicle kind of looked like, they went ahead
- 21:36Speaker 1: and put a bolo out to see if they could
- 21:38Speaker 1: just track down this car. They also looked for any
- 21:40Speaker 1: cameras on homes and businesses that might have caught the vehicle.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Now looking at where the Shells lived and the main
- 21:49Speaker 1: highways and interstate how that somebody might have gotten to
- 21:53Speaker 1: their home. It would have been off of I think
- 21:56Speaker 1: they said I thirty five, yeah, coming in, So they
- 22:01Speaker 1: they kind of track that route and they're like, okay,
- 22:03Speaker 1: EI thirty five they definitely would have had to exit here,
- 22:06Speaker 1: and so they're they're able to identify businesses with cameras,
- 22:09Speaker 1: a circle K, a seven eleven, and then a Walmart,
- 22:12Speaker 1: which we all know Walmarts are the key to solving
- 22:15Speaker 1: most crimes because for some reason, everybody of all the
- 22:20Speaker 1: places of companies that have the money to put up
- 22:24Speaker 1: cameras and have the incentive to, Walmart has cameras everywhere inside, outside, everywhere.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Every corner of the Walmart has a camera. So I
- 22:33Speaker 1: don't really know why anybody would I'm.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Going to come at a murder. I need to go
- 22:37Speaker 2: get supplies at Walmart. Yeah, I killed somebody. I need
- 22:40Speaker 2: to go get the clean up supplies at Walmart.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Look it's convenient. It's right there, right there. Yeah. So
- 22:46Speaker 1: they they try out the circle K in the seven
- 22:49Speaker 1: eleven with no Look, they didn't have any video of
- 22:52Speaker 1: anybody in a burgundy car. So the only basin is
- 22:55Speaker 1: that did have this car on camera was the Walmart.
- 22:59Speaker 1: So they find they roll back the video leading up
- 23:03Speaker 1: to the around because they knew that whoever was there
- 23:06Speaker 1: was at two thirty five am was at the home
- 23:09Speaker 1: because that's when she left the voicemail asking about the pin.
- 23:13Speaker 1: So around two nineteen am they police do see a
- 23:16Speaker 1: car on the Walmart surveillance cameras for the parking lot.
- 23:21Speaker 1: This description that meets this description pulling through. Well, the
- 23:25Speaker 1: car was doing like just some odd things. There was
- 23:28Speaker 1: a lot of like circling around.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Coming brash things happens in a Walmart.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Especially at twenty in the morning. So the cars just
- 23:38Speaker 1: kind of like going. It would go out of frame
- 23:41Speaker 1: and then it would come back at heart around but
- 23:42Speaker 1: they never they Then they didn't don't see the car
- 23:46Speaker 1: for about eight minutes, and then it comes back through
- 23:48Speaker 1: around two thirty am. So then they're like, okay, maybe
- 23:51Speaker 1: this is when this person could have gone to the
- 23:54Speaker 1: Shirley to the Shells home and got Shirley and come back.
- 23:58Speaker 1: So then around two six am the car comes back
- 24:02Speaker 1: and parks, and so it's close enough to the camera
- 24:05Speaker 1: at this point that they can see kind of the
- 24:06Speaker 1: driver messing around with the seat, like moving it back
- 24:09Speaker 1: and like up and down and stuff and again strange behaviors. Well,
- 24:15Speaker 1: they're hoping that the person will get out of the car,
- 24:17Speaker 1: but they never do. So around two forty three am
- 24:20Speaker 1: the car then pulls away and then they're able to
- 24:23Speaker 1: pick up on another camera to just get kind of
- 24:25Speaker 1: a better look, but they still couldn't make out the
- 24:27Speaker 1: license plate number because again, all these cameras, I don't
- 24:30Speaker 1: understand every camera that they showed their terrible quality, Like,
- 24:34Speaker 1: is what do you even what can you even do
- 24:37Speaker 1: with that?
- 24:37Speaker 2: Oh? You can do a lot now, well.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Now, but back then it was just like this blurry,
- 24:41Speaker 1: grainy thing. You can't even figure out to make a
- 24:45Speaker 1: model of the car based on even from that far away.
- 24:49Speaker 1: And it wasn't like super far away. It was a
- 24:52Speaker 1: decent I mean, I mean, I think it was close enough,
- 24:54Speaker 1: but you couldn't see really make out who it was
- 24:58Speaker 1: anything like that. So they get this car, they get
- 25:01Speaker 1: this different angle and everything. They can't make up the
- 25:04Speaker 1: license plate, but they were able to pause it and
- 25:07Speaker 1: zoom in and they could figure out that the person
- 25:09Speaker 1: was wearing a black shirt. They were white, and they
- 25:12Speaker 1: were bald, they were stewed.
- 25:15Speaker 2: They got me.
- 25:17Speaker 1: So they at least had a car and possibly you know,
- 25:21Speaker 1: a general description. Again, car and person are very vague,
- 25:26Speaker 1: but maybe you can match together a bald, white dude
- 25:31Speaker 1: in that burgundy four door sedan.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Police put this car and description out to the public,
- 25:40Speaker 2: but after eight days, they still had no clue who
- 25:43Speaker 2: the killer was, so they went back to the walmart
- 25:45Speaker 2: footage and their only lead They searched earlier in the
- 25:49Speaker 2: day where they lucked out, and they saw the vehicle
- 25:52Speaker 2: parked at around midnight. They continue to watch and they
- 25:55Speaker 2: finally see a man walking from the walmart to the car.
- 26:00Speaker 2: He moves his car a few spaces and he parks it.
- 26:04Speaker 2: But after he parks it, he waits a few minutes
- 26:07Speaker 2: or whatever, a few moments, and then he drives away.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Then he comes back. They see the same car come
- 26:15Speaker 2: back at two am.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Yeah, the whole situation that we described before s too. Yes.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Then it leads into the next time they see the
- 26:22Speaker 1: car is when it's the two nineteen am and he's
- 26:25Speaker 1: driving around the parking lot being weird.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Do you understand that?
- 26:30Speaker 2: Yes? I understand.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Hey, well it seem like you're a little confused.
- 26:33Speaker 2: No, I'm just confused by the poor writing.
- 26:38Speaker 1: God, Stuart, you try forming a sentence, because it's very
- 26:43Speaker 1: difficult for you. I'd like to see you put a
- 26:49Speaker 1: full episode together.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I am an English major. I could probably do it.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Pro you're not. You didn't major in anything, Stuart, if
- 26:58Speaker 1: you say something about like, uh, what is it? Shoot,
- 27:05Speaker 1: I'm getting tired? What is it? Whenever street smarts, what
- 27:12Speaker 1: is it? You always you always used to tell me
- 27:14Speaker 1: you measured in something and it was not. It was
- 27:17Speaker 1: like something of sexiness.
- 27:19Speaker 2: No, what well?
- 27:20Speaker 1: You fuck fucking flunked out on that one. Wow, Okay,
- 27:29Speaker 1: go on.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Since he came from the Walmart, they pulled up the
- 27:33Speaker 2: store camera where they see the man that they're looking for.
- 27:36Speaker 2: He ends up being a story employee by the name
- 27:38Speaker 2: of Harold Warner. They talked to him and he says
- 27:42Speaker 2: that he was following some suspicious looking people and he
- 27:45Speaker 2: was trying to get a playton.
- 27:46Speaker 1: So he's like, I'm not the suspicious person. I was
- 27:49Speaker 1: following suspicious people.
- 27:52Speaker 2: The manager did confirm Harold's story, and he is removed
- 27:57Speaker 2: from the suspect list, which we know what that. Police
- 28:01Speaker 2: are back to square one looking for the murderer.
- 28:05Speaker 1: And but you know, you're not supposed to follow people
- 28:08Speaker 1: at the Walmart. This is maybe it was an in
- 28:11Speaker 1: store policy at that point.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yes, they cannot.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Harold looked like he was took things seriously. He was
- 28:17Speaker 1: in he was maybe he worked for asset protection or
- 28:21Speaker 1: something like that, and he was taking his job very seriously.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I mean, we've asset protection ain't working at two am.
- 28:28Speaker 1: We've all we've all heard the story about how I
- 28:30Speaker 1: stopped the Walmart shoplifters and then the Walmart store employees
- 28:35Speaker 1: took credit for it.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, we all remember that. No, but that asset
- 28:42Speaker 2: protection has done gone home by two am.
- 28:44Speaker 1: STU has the inside scoop. So police they had been
- 28:49Speaker 1: tracking these critics, So you're probably wonder, Carara, well, don't
- 28:52Speaker 1: they know where the credit cards were used? And I'm
- 28:54Speaker 1: about to tell you they were tracking those credit cards. However,
- 28:58Speaker 1: those credit cards did not show any activity, which is
- 29:00Speaker 1: strange because you'd think if someone robbed someone and stole
- 29:03Speaker 1: their credit card, the first thing would do is use.
- 29:06Speaker 2: The credit cards, one would think.
- 29:08Speaker 1: So three weeks would pass when Shirley's daughters were they
- 29:12Speaker 1: would come in and check the mail and just make
- 29:14Speaker 1: sure no bills were being sent to be taken care
- 29:17Speaker 1: of m stuff, because I don't believe the dad was
- 29:19Speaker 1: staying at the house at the time because he was,
- 29:21Speaker 1: you know, so upset because he'd been married for a
- 29:23Speaker 1: shirt to Shirley for forty five years. I mean they were,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I mean that was huge, you know, loss for him.
- 29:30Speaker 1: So they're, you know, sorting through all this mail and
- 29:33Speaker 1: they find this credit card statement and it's they they're
- 29:37Speaker 1: looking at the bank name on the credit card and
- 29:39Speaker 1: they're like, they didn't even know their mom had a
- 29:41Speaker 1: credit card there, and neither did their dad. So I
- 29:44Speaker 1: don't know why she had this credit card. Maybe it
- 29:46Speaker 1: was just like an off one she signed up for
- 29:48Speaker 1: and forgot, you know, just didn't tell her husband or
- 29:50Speaker 1: forgot to or something like that. So they immediately so
- 29:55Speaker 1: they're looking at this. So it's the statements come in
- 29:57Speaker 1: the mail. They're looking and all these charges are after
- 30:01Speaker 1: their mom passed away, and so they immediately call the police,
- 30:07Speaker 1: well detectives, they so they take this credit card information
- 30:12Speaker 1: and they see that the credit card had been used
- 30:13Speaker 1: at about twenty gas stations across five states. So now
- 30:18Speaker 1: they're on this hunt for this killer, tracing his movement
- 30:22Speaker 1: based on these credit card transactions and hoping that they
- 30:27Speaker 1: can find camera footage of him or something like that.
- 30:30Speaker 1: So they head up I seventy and they have gone
- 30:34Speaker 1: through about eleven gas stations and they have no luck either.
- 30:38Speaker 1: The gas stations don't have cameras, or they didn't actually
- 30:42Speaker 1: pick up who the person, or couldn't find the person
- 30:45Speaker 1: they were looking for. Well, they finally come upon a
- 30:48Speaker 1: Marathon gas station in Cloverdale, Indiana, and this is about
- 30:53Speaker 1: eight hundred miles from Edmund, Oklahoma. Well, there they finally
- 30:57Speaker 1: get some video footage of the killer. So he gets
- 31:00Speaker 1: out of his car at around six thirty PM and
- 31:03Speaker 1: pumps some gas. They whenever they're so they're able to
- 31:07Speaker 1: actually see him from a distance, but he uses, he
- 31:09Speaker 1: pays at the pump, you know, so he doesn't actually
- 31:12Speaker 1: come in, so they can't get a close up of him.
- 31:15Speaker 1: But they do find out that he is not Harold
- 31:18Speaker 1: at the walmart. Harold is definitely in the clear house. Yeah,
- 31:23Speaker 1: it was actually a like a you know, mid not
- 31:27Speaker 1: middle age. What is someone in there in their thirties
- 31:33Speaker 1: years time frame? What is that considered?
- 31:36Speaker 2: Well, I mean, since the average age of death is
- 31:38Speaker 2: like thirty or seventy five, I guess you.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Just want to tell me, you just want to say
- 31:44Speaker 1: that I'm middle aged.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Ye.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Anyways, it appeared to be a black mail in his
- 31:48Speaker 1: thirties and like I said, he didn't actually come into
- 31:52Speaker 1: the stores. They couldn't get a close up of him,
- 31:55Speaker 1: but they were able to look at his car, and
- 31:57Speaker 1: they it was a dark green four door car, which, again,
- 32:02Speaker 1: dark green is a more unique color I would say
- 32:06Speaker 1: than say if it was a white car, a silver car,
- 32:09Speaker 1: a black car, you know, even red, but dark green.
- 32:13Speaker 1: You don't see too many dark green cars. I feel like,
- 32:17Speaker 1: you know, I don't know.
- 32:18Speaker 2: I don't pay attention to such things.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Okay, well it's not that common. Like white cars are common,
- 32:22Speaker 1: black cars are common, silver cars are common, but dark green,
- 32:27Speaker 1: I feel like it's quite a bit lower number. So
- 32:30Speaker 1: they issue a bolo for a black mal driving this
- 32:33Speaker 1: four door dark green car. So they got the new bolo,
- 32:36Speaker 1: and they've got kind of his movements around on this
- 32:40Speaker 1: I seventy at these different gas stations.
- 32:43Speaker 2: As police are looking at the path the killer took
- 32:46Speaker 2: to see where he was, they find out that he
- 32:49Speaker 2: was on the turn thing well, where he had passed.
- 32:54Speaker 1: No, you just said, as the police were looking at
- 32:58Speaker 1: the path the killer took, they were looking to see
- 33:01Speaker 1: where he was, which is the same thing, the same
- 33:07Speaker 1: thing as I just want to The reason I'm saying this,
- 33:09Speaker 1: people is because he sits there and makes little comments
- 33:12Speaker 1: about my writing. I did not write that.
- 33:14Speaker 2: That was that was see on the turnpike.
- 33:19Speaker 1: That was Stu's improv. That was him improving. That's him
- 33:22Speaker 1: going off script. That's off script, stew.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Because this is terrible writing.
- 33:29Speaker 1: My hand was cramping. I was so committed to getting
- 33:33Speaker 1: this episode out today, and you know, I try to
- 33:35Speaker 1: get him out. We say we'll release them on Thursday.
- 33:38Speaker 1: So if you guys will notice that the episodes get
- 33:41Speaker 1: released to Patreon at like Wednesday at like eleven fifty
- 33:45Speaker 1: five pm, and then the next twenty four hours later,
- 33:48Speaker 1: so they get released to you know, everywhere else, and
- 33:52Speaker 1: it's because it's technically still Wednesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Guys.
- 33:56Speaker 1: You see what I did there? See that effort that's
- 33:58Speaker 1: gone into this.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Maybe, if you were more committed, we do this on Tuesday.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Well probably, But then I told Stu. I was like, oh,
- 34:06Speaker 1: maybe we should switch the days and be like, okay,
- 34:08Speaker 1: we we you know, it's on Patreon on Thursday, it's
- 34:12Speaker 1: ever else on Fridays. And this dude's like, no, then.
- 34:14Speaker 2: You'll just wait Thursday.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Listen I do. I'm a I'm a deadline person. I
- 34:20Speaker 1: need someone, I actually really need a deadline feel to
- 34:23Speaker 1: be productive. So that's just how I function. Any whosle
- 34:29Speaker 1: stude doesn't function at all.
- 34:31Speaker 2: They're on the turnpike. Figure, he's on the turnpike. They're
- 34:35Speaker 2: helping that a camera, what have some footage. There's a
- 34:38Speaker 2: toll booth in it was a ten lane booth. Yeah.
- 34:41Speaker 1: If anybody's ever driven in Oklahoma, we used to drive
- 34:44Speaker 1: back and forth between Muskogee and Broken Arrow and there's
- 34:48Speaker 1: like it's a it's a state I believe, it's a
- 34:52Speaker 1: state run toll roads. It's not these private toll roads.
- 34:57Speaker 1: It's the state. Uh you actually it's not you know
- 35:00Speaker 1: like when you're in Texas all these are private toll
- 35:02Speaker 1: roads that you're you know, easy Tag and stuff like that.
- 35:06Speaker 1: This is actually a state run one, I believe, and uh.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Well easy tag works in Oklahoma.
- 35:12Speaker 1: So okay, well I'm sure on some of them. There's
- 35:14Speaker 1: probably still private toll roads in Oklahoma. I'm just saying
- 35:17Speaker 1: the turnpike is the major state run one, and those
- 35:21Speaker 1: like I remember driving into those, those things are huge.
- 35:24Speaker 1: The lanes that open up on that turnpike to pay
- 35:28Speaker 1: because you had to go through and actually it was
- 35:30Speaker 1: because back whenever I and I'm sure the same was
- 35:32Speaker 1: whenever this was happening two thousand and seven. We used
- 35:35Speaker 1: to drive them. They didn't have, you know, where you
- 35:37Speaker 1: could just drive through and it just flashes and scansy
- 35:39Speaker 1: that your license plate or a little tag. You actually
- 35:42Speaker 1: had to stop and throw that change up in that thing.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Hand that they attend up the money or throw the
- 35:48Speaker 2: change in the.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Yes, So there was Yeah, they had an attendant in everyone,
- 35:51Speaker 1: and there was just lanes and lanes and lanes of
- 35:54Speaker 1: where you could pull in and then it would all
- 35:56Speaker 1: just merge back together on.
- 35:57Speaker 2: The Yeah, those ones in Europe are huge too.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Yeah, they were big too, but they because they wanted
- 36:03Speaker 1: you to stop and pay. They weren't taken, not.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Dang license plate pictures.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Yeah, you weren't just rolling through. The ones in Europe
- 36:09Speaker 1: were like the ones in Oklahoma were. And I don't
- 36:11Speaker 1: know what they're like now because i'dn't been to Oklahoma
- 36:13Speaker 1: so long, but I'm sure they've got like fast lanes
- 36:16Speaker 1: and stuff like that. But they were massive turnpikes, like
- 36:20Speaker 1: toll boots.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Well, the far easy tag works in Oklahoma.
- 36:23Speaker 1: I guess we can we can go to Oklahoma.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Now, we can go to Oklahoma. Now check it out
- 36:26Speaker 2: and see what's going on out there. So, yes, they're waiting,
- 36:32Speaker 2: have to check all ten lanes. That's gotta be just
- 36:36Speaker 2: manpower resources sitting there.
- 36:39Speaker 1: I think it was one guy, just I mean, this
- 36:41Speaker 1: wasn't a huge budget for this. It's the Edmund Police Department.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Just one guy was just watching hours and hours of
- 36:47Speaker 1: footage and watching people come through and stop at the
- 36:52Speaker 1: and they didn't have you know, I mean, nowadays, I'm
- 36:54Speaker 1: pretty sure they can probably run it through a software
- 36:56Speaker 1: system that would review the footage and find a you know,
- 37:02Speaker 1: identify all the green cars that came through or something.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Like that, and then they can go back and look
- 37:06Speaker 2: at those.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Well, they finally do see a car. It's a dark
- 37:09Speaker 2: green car with a black mail wearing a striped shirt,
- 37:13Speaker 2: pulls up, pays cash. There is unfortunately no license plate
- 37:17Speaker 2: on the front of the car. But as they keep looking,
- 37:20Speaker 2: they do notice that there's a plate on the dashboard
- 37:23Speaker 2: and that they can make out the last two digits,
- 37:25Speaker 2: which is eight to two. With a better look at
- 37:28Speaker 2: the car, they are able to determine that it is
- 37:31Speaker 2: a Mazda six two six.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Which is a four door. Even those two was like,
- 37:35Speaker 1: I didn't know a Mazda.
- 37:37Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't pay attention to Masda's. That's
- 37:39Speaker 2: a Ford brand car anyway, a Ford brand. Yes, Mazda
- 37:44Speaker 2: is owned by Ford Motor Company.
- 37:47Speaker 1: F Why okay, just you know the more you grow.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Well, Toyota owns Lexus.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Yes, I know that. You go on and on about that.
- 37:55Speaker 2: I do, you go on and on.
- 37:57Speaker 1: We're Toyota people. We have Toyota. I wouldn't say I'm
- 38:01Speaker 1: a Toyota person, but that's the most reliable car.
- 38:04Speaker 2: And they make the best just happens to be the
- 38:06Speaker 2: ones we've been buying.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Well, they make the best minivan too. Of all the
- 38:10Speaker 1: mini vans, we have the Sienna, which is.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Wow, what just picking a fight with all.
- 38:15Speaker 1: The oh please? We went and saw a Honda what
- 38:18Speaker 1: are they called Honda?
- 38:20Speaker 2: I don't know. They got the pilot and they ods.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Say so Honda Odyssey. There are some benefits to the
- 38:25Speaker 1: Honda Odyssey apparently, like the back row. You can buckle
- 38:28Speaker 1: the kids in and then just flip them up and
- 38:31Speaker 1: they'll be in the position or whatever which is, which
- 38:33Speaker 1: would be nice and everything like that. But I find
- 38:37Speaker 1: the and then the way they redesign the cienas it
- 38:39Speaker 1: looks less like a mini van if you get like
- 38:42Speaker 1: a twenty twenty year later so ours was used when
- 38:45Speaker 1: we purchased it or whatever. But if you get kind
- 38:47Speaker 1: of a later model, they have updated it to make
- 38:49Speaker 1: look more like a suv. He's a little sportier, I
- 38:54Speaker 1: would say. And don't even get me started. Don't don't
- 38:56Speaker 1: get no Chrysler, Plymouth or whatever. The hell. Yes, the
- 39:01Speaker 1: Pacific those are terrible. If you go and wrint one
- 39:04Speaker 1: from the Enterprise or something like that, that's what they're
- 39:06Speaker 1: going to give you. That's what they run there. And
- 39:08Speaker 1: then apparently a bunch of them were recalled because we
- 39:11Speaker 1: were going to go test drive a minivan prior to
- 39:14Speaker 1: us purchasing a minivan because we you know, we have
- 39:17Speaker 1: three children now. And when we went to go do it,
- 39:20Speaker 1: the guy's like, oh yeah, I said, I called specifically
- 39:22Speaker 1: and said I wanted to make sure you had a
- 39:24Speaker 1: minivan available. And you know, you call these numbers now
- 39:28Speaker 1: for like Enterprise, and you can't even get a hold
- 39:30Speaker 1: of like the person at the desk at your local one.
- 39:34Speaker 1: You just get this one eight hundred, you know whoever
- 39:37Speaker 1: at a call center that's answering. It's like, oh, yeah,
- 39:39Speaker 1: they said you reserved a minivan. Yep, they'll have already
- 39:43Speaker 1: show up there. It's a freaking like Ford Explorer or something,
- 39:46Speaker 1: some huge Oh it was a big gas guzzler too,
- 39:52Speaker 1: And so he's like, well, I can give you this.
- 39:53Speaker 1: And so at this point we'd already told the kids
- 39:55Speaker 1: we were taking them to the zoo, so and Abilene,
- 39:57Speaker 1: which is two hours away. So well, I was like,
- 40:00Speaker 1: I was so mad. I was like, okay, I'll take
- 40:02Speaker 1: the I'll take it. But it defeated the whole purpose
- 40:05Speaker 1: is the purpose was to test out a mini van.
- 40:10Speaker 1: But the only mini vans also that they had were
- 40:12Speaker 1: the Chrysler pacificas I guess anyways, but they were all.
- 40:16Speaker 1: The reason he didn't have any minivans is because they
- 40:18Speaker 1: were all They had a bunch of recalled or something
- 40:21Speaker 1: like that. So we drove this suburban or whatever the
- 40:25Speaker 1: heck it was, and it was it cost a four
- 40:27Speaker 1: It cost as much to rent the car the gas
- 40:30Speaker 1: is to rent the car. So I don't know how
- 40:31Speaker 1: people are affording driving these giant Yeah.
- 40:35Speaker 2: It was like eighty dollars in fuel just two hours
- 40:37Speaker 2: back and forth.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it was insane, and also it just didn't for
- 40:41Speaker 1: us with three small children. It just didn't work either,
- 40:44Speaker 1: the logistics of it all inside the suburban, No, did
- 40:49Speaker 1: not at all. We definitely lucked out finding this sea
- 40:54Speaker 1: in our price range, because these things are if you
- 40:56Speaker 1: got to you gotta search around because they are pricey.
- 41:01Speaker 1: The c N is there a hot commodity.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Stew, They're hard to find.
- 41:04Speaker 1: They're very hard to find ones that are a decent
- 41:06Speaker 1: shape because also you're buying a mini van, So whoever
- 41:10Speaker 1: has a mini van has little children, It has a
- 41:12Speaker 1: bunch of just destroying things. We went and saw one
- 41:16Speaker 1: local and it was disgusting and it was the same
- 41:18Speaker 1: price as ours. But we got this one off of
- 41:20Speaker 1: what's that Cars to Go or.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Whatever, Cars to Go.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Carmel, CarMax. Yeah. What's great is if it's close enough,
- 41:31Speaker 1: they'll ship it for free so you can test drive
- 41:33Speaker 1: it at your So we had to drive up to
- 41:34Speaker 1: Lubbock because again we have nothing in this town. Drive
- 41:37Speaker 1: up to Lubbock and bought it that day and never
- 41:41Speaker 1: looked back. Well, and then we had held then the
- 41:43Speaker 1: rider for we bought it. Hell storm came and destroyed
- 41:46Speaker 1: the whole thing, and then I didn't have it for
- 41:49Speaker 1: several weeks and I did have to drive a Chrysler. Yes, yeah,
- 41:56Speaker 1: is that what it's called, the Pacifica. I did have
- 41:59Speaker 1: to drive it for like sixty and that thing was
- 42:01Speaker 1: a piece of shit. So yeah, definitely, if you can
- 42:04Speaker 1: find a Sienna for a good deal, go with that,
- 42:07Speaker 1: all right. Well, if you didn't warn't in the market
- 42:09Speaker 1: to buy a mini van, that was a whole wasted
- 42:11Speaker 1: like five minutes of your life, So sorry or longer listen.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I'm traumatized today. I had I found a body.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Okay, Claire, back to our story. Okay, police find police
- 42:28Speaker 2: are able to pull this green maz To six two
- 42:31Speaker 2: six up again.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Also not a very popular car. I don't feel like
- 42:36Speaker 1: not think of that. A dark green mans To six
- 42:37Speaker 1: two six.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Well, they pull it up with the numbers eight two
- 42:42Speaker 2: in the there's only one, and there's only one car,
- 42:46Speaker 2: green Maza sixty two six with the numbers eight two
- 42:49Speaker 2: in the license plate. It is registered to a thirty
- 42:52Speaker 2: six year old Michael Gary from Akron, Ohio. Gary had
- 42:56Speaker 2: a criminal history, including aggravated burgley and two are right.
- 43:00Speaker 1: He should have just not even been out at all.
- 43:04Speaker 2: One would not think he would be. Yeah, however, he
- 43:08Speaker 2: was a registered sex offender and he was clearly very dangerous.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Yeah, because now he's he's already a terrible person. Now
- 43:17Speaker 1: he's murdered someone, and now he's on the run, so
- 43:20Speaker 1: he's I mean, it's a ticking time bomb before he
- 43:23Speaker 1: might actually hurt somebody else. At this point, he's got
- 43:27Speaker 1: one of those names, what is it whenever the first
- 43:30Speaker 1: and the last name, So he could be Michael Gary
- 43:32Speaker 1: or Gary Michael.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Could be Yeah, could be his alias.
- 43:35Speaker 1: No, I'm saying, what is those names? Whenever? The first
- 43:38Speaker 1: and last Both first and last name are both like
- 43:41Speaker 1: last names and can be first names. There's a word
- 43:45Speaker 1: for it, someone knows. So now that they have their suspect,
- 43:48Speaker 1: they need to make an arrest, so they contact Akron
- 43:51Speaker 1: police and they are like, hey, we're on it. So
- 43:55Speaker 1: they go and storm the home, but Gary was actually
- 43:57Speaker 1: able to escape out the back door. So they do
- 44:00Speaker 1: find the car at his house and they impound it
- 44:03Speaker 1: for evidence. They are now on the hunt for Gary,
- 44:07Speaker 1: but that won't take long actually, because surprisingly he comes
- 44:10Speaker 1: up to the police station and turns himself in just
- 44:13Speaker 1: twenty four hours after he went on the run.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Being on the lambshit sucks.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, the reason he did that is because he
- 44:20Speaker 1: thought he didn't realize that they had put together that
- 44:23Speaker 1: he has killed this woman down in Oklahoma because it's
- 44:25Speaker 1: so far away, and I'm sure because it's the Akron
- 44:28Speaker 1: police department, Like, he probably didn't understand how you know,
- 44:32Speaker 1: police departments work, that they can go a different police
- 44:35Speaker 1: department can come up here to arrest you at this house.
- 44:37Speaker 1: So he's thinking they're upset with him for not following
- 44:41Speaker 1: all the proper things about registering as a sex offender
- 44:43Speaker 1: when he moved and things like that, and so that's
- 44:46Speaker 1: what he thinks. So he's like, oh, I'll just go
- 44:48Speaker 1: turn myself in and they'll just register me as a
- 44:50Speaker 1: sex offender at this address. And yeah, that's why they
- 44:53Speaker 1: were storming your home. It is because he.
- 44:56Speaker 2: Can sa properly ass but.
- 45:00Speaker 1: He's thinking is going on. So that's why he did
- 45:02Speaker 1: actually turn himself in. He has absolutely no clue that
- 45:06Speaker 1: they know about him and Shirley, so they confront him
- 45:10Speaker 1: about that credit card usage, and of course he says
- 45:13Speaker 1: he knows nothing. He's like, I'm not going to talk
- 45:14Speaker 1: about something I don't know anything about well he and
- 45:17Speaker 1: he said, and they were like, well, have you been
- 45:18Speaker 1: to Oklahoma? He's like, I've been there once, you know,
- 45:21Speaker 1: years ago. Yeah, not not. I don't know what you
- 45:25Speaker 1: guys are talking about. Well, after a short while, you know,
- 45:28Speaker 1: you'll see Gary has no, he can't, he can't hold
- 45:32Speaker 1: up under pressure law because yes. So after a short
- 45:36Speaker 1: short while, he admits to using the credit card, but
- 45:39Speaker 1: he says he did not kill Shirley. He says that
- 45:42Speaker 1: he got the credit card from some guy at a
- 45:45Speaker 1: party that had a scar on his face, and this
- 45:47Speaker 1: guy just gave him this credit card and so he's
- 45:50Speaker 1: been using it. So despite the fact that it says Shirley,
- 45:54Speaker 1: I mean, he him saying he doesn't know Shirley and
- 45:57Speaker 1: he's been using a credit card with her name on it.
- 45:59Speaker 1: I mean, like, anyways, he's so stupid. So he so
- 46:04Speaker 1: they charged. So since they don't have enough on him
- 46:06Speaker 1: for murder at this point, because they're still trying to
- 46:08Speaker 1: process all that, they get him for what they can,
- 46:10Speaker 1: which is fraud for using that credit card, and so
- 46:13Speaker 1: they're able to arrest him under that. Well, they're looking
- 46:16Speaker 1: for additional evidence to time to Shirley, and this murder. Well,
- 46:21Speaker 1: that comes in the car because in the console was
- 46:25Speaker 1: this like coins like all stuck together, like he'd left
- 46:29Speaker 1: food like something sticky in there, and all these coins
- 46:32Speaker 1: and everything had just been like congelled together and everything
- 46:36Speaker 1: in the heat. So the forensic people are pulling everything apart. Well,
- 46:40Speaker 1: in that wad of coins goo, they find a key
- 46:45Speaker 1: chain that says just a little silver keychain that says
- 46:48Speaker 1: Joe shell Well. They contact Joe, they send him a
- 46:52Speaker 1: picture of it and he's like, yeah, that's my He
- 46:55Speaker 1: got it from work or something happened, and it was
- 46:58Speaker 1: just in his someone gave it to him. It was
- 46:59Speaker 1: in his pocket. So when he took his he said,
- 47:01Speaker 1: when I took my change out, he said, I probably
- 47:03Speaker 1: just threw it in the change jar because it was
- 47:05Speaker 1: in my pocket and everything. And so since that was
- 47:09Speaker 1: in there, really sealed the deal on Old Gary. And
- 47:14Speaker 1: so they confronted him with this new evidence, saying, hey,
- 47:17Speaker 1: we got you using the credit card. We've got you
- 47:21Speaker 1: on camera at a turnpike in Oklahoma. We've got you
- 47:25Speaker 1: using the card on camera at the gas station. So
- 47:29Speaker 1: you can't say that you weren't the one actually using it.
- 47:32Speaker 1: And then now we have this, and so he quickly
- 47:37Speaker 1: admits to that he did actually kill Shirley. So he
- 47:42Speaker 1: tells police that he took Shirley to the bedroom, but
- 47:45Speaker 1: he wasn't actually planning on hurting her, and he said
- 47:48Speaker 1: he had a knife on him from when he was fishing,
- 47:52Speaker 1: and he just decided that, he said, he didn't even
- 47:54Speaker 1: know what he he doesn't remember even thinking about or anything,
- 47:57Speaker 1: but he did. He just decided to cut her, what
- 48:00Speaker 1: he said. And so he said that he happened upon
- 48:04Speaker 1: the Shell home when he got lost in that neighborhood,
- 48:08Speaker 1: and so he just by a happenstance comes across.
- 48:10Speaker 2: What was he doing there? How did he get lost
- 48:13Speaker 2: in this neighbor I don't know, Stu, why did you
- 48:15Speaker 2: drive from Ohio to Oklahoma? And He's like, oh, I'm lost.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Okay, I don't know, Stu. Why didn't you look that up?
- 48:22Speaker 1: Are you legit asking me that? Y? You know, this
- 48:26Speaker 1: is a bunch of bullshit because we might have paused
- 48:28Speaker 1: because I said, Stu, you're not even You're just he's
- 48:31Speaker 1: just he's just listening to me tell the story for
- 48:34Speaker 1: the last five minutes, and I'm like, you don't have
- 48:38Speaker 1: any questions? So I paused, I'm like, you don't have
- 48:40Speaker 1: any questions because he's just like sitting there like like
- 48:42Speaker 1: I'm telling like I'm telling him the story, which it
- 48:46Speaker 1: might be the first time he's heard it.
- 48:47Speaker 2: So I did hear it?
- 48:49Speaker 1: It was in the background, Yes, it was in the background.
- 48:51Speaker 1: But anyway, so that he gets on here and tries
- 48:54Speaker 1: to ask me questions, he knows I'm not gonna have
- 48:56Speaker 1: the answers to.
- 48:57Speaker 2: I thought you might have the answer to that.
- 48:58Speaker 1: I don't know why he was in Oklahoma, stew I
- 49:01Speaker 1: don't know why he burglarized it. He was trying to
- 49:04Speaker 1: get money to get back to Ohio though he was
- 49:07Speaker 1: in Oklahoma for some reason, and he was trying to
- 49:09Speaker 1: get back to Ohio.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Made us some gas money.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Yes, so he's in this gets lost in this neighborhood
- 49:16Speaker 1: and he decides he needs to rob somebody because that's
- 49:20Speaker 1: what he'd been in jail for before, was a you know,
- 49:22Speaker 1: aggravated burglary. So he just comes to their house and
- 49:27Speaker 1: they had left the back door unlocked, and so that's
- 49:30Speaker 1: when he just walked right into the home and he
- 49:35Speaker 1: was just going to commit this burglary, and he tried
- 49:38Speaker 1: to get her to get the pin number, which was
- 49:40Speaker 1: the phone call to Joe, and when that was unsuccessful,
- 49:43Speaker 1: he took her to the bedroom and then he said
- 49:45Speaker 1: he just he wasn't going to hurt her, and then
- 49:47Speaker 1: he did kill her and then stole the credit cards.
- 49:51Speaker 1: So it's just like, I know he didn't have to
- 49:53Speaker 1: she wasn't. I think she was trying to remain calm
- 49:56Speaker 1: so he wouldn't hurt her mother. And it's like she
- 49:59Speaker 1: wasn't fighting back. She was gonna give you whatever you wanted,
- 50:02Speaker 1: just take the stuff and leave. I mean, I don't
- 50:06Speaker 1: know how he thought the I don't know if it
- 50:08Speaker 1: was I don't know the condition of the the mother.
- 50:12Speaker 1: You know, whenever you saw her, But I don't know
- 50:14Speaker 1: if he could tell she was in she couldn't see
- 50:16Speaker 1: or something, because he didn't hurt her, so it wasn't
- 50:18Speaker 1: about seeing who the person was that did this. You know,
- 50:23Speaker 1: and you're using a credit card, you're going to get
- 50:25Speaker 1: caught eventually. You can't use a credit card and not get.
- 50:29Speaker 2: Caught, No, not unless every place you go it I
- 50:32Speaker 2: didn't have any cameras, and then you ditch the.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Credit card unless it's in like Houston. And then They're like,
- 50:36Speaker 1: we don't have time. If all you did was still
- 50:38Speaker 1: a credit card and use it, we don't have time
- 50:39Speaker 1: to do.
- 50:40Speaker 2: Wow, you're still on that.
- 50:42Speaker 1: No, they don't have time to deal with They don't care.
- 50:44Speaker 1: They're like, you got to kill somebody or do something
- 50:46Speaker 1: like that for us to have time.
- 50:48Speaker 2: Yes, you're still upset about that.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Yes, they tried to eat at the Chili's with my
- 50:52Speaker 1: credit card in Houston. I'm sure I've told that story before.
- 50:56Speaker 2: Wasn't even in your credit card. Somebody just took the
- 50:58Speaker 2: number you had the credit card.
- 51:00Speaker 1: It made a replica, yes, and then try to use
- 51:02Speaker 1: it at a Chili's in Houston. And so they tried
- 51:06Speaker 1: it twice and that's when.
- 51:09Speaker 2: Alert or something.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and then apparently the manager was like they never
- 51:13Speaker 1: got it through because it didn't get approved. But I
- 51:16Speaker 1: think I called the chilis and I talked to the manager. Oh, Karen, no,
- 51:22Speaker 1: because I wanted to throw because this is why these
- 51:25Speaker 1: people do this is because they get away with it
- 51:27Speaker 1: because the police don't have the resources to go after
- 51:30Speaker 1: identity theft and fraud and stuff like that, so they're
- 51:33Speaker 1: not going to do so. I called up trying to
- 51:34Speaker 1: see if I could press charges or do something because
- 51:36Speaker 1: they obviously have the whoever hat did it on camera
- 51:39Speaker 1: in the chilis again like a Walmart, they have cameras,
- 51:42Speaker 1: but they're like, we don't have the There's nothing you
- 51:45Speaker 1: can really do. I had to call around to multiple
- 51:49Speaker 1: chilies too, because they wouldn't give me the exact one
- 51:53Speaker 1: that it was ran from.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Wow, I don't even remember any of this.
- 51:57Speaker 1: I had a lot more time before we had children.
- 51:59Speaker 1: I had a lot more. Oh wow, I was angry
- 52:05Speaker 1: about that, Stu. All right, So back to this. So yeah,
- 52:12Speaker 1: so he really it was really completely unnecessary for him
- 52:15Speaker 1: to murder her. She was not fighting back, she was
- 52:17Speaker 1: ready to give him whatever he needed. So with him
- 52:21Speaker 1: admitting to murdering Shirley on June second, two thousand and eight,
- 52:26Speaker 1: about a year after this all happened, Gary was sentenced
- 52:30Speaker 1: to life in prison without parole. Think thankfully he should
- 52:34Speaker 1: have been in prison without parole.
- 52:35Speaker 2: When he could be commuted and he could get parole.
- 52:38Speaker 2: The Menanda's brothers are gonna possibly get parole now.
- 52:41Speaker 1: But we don't. But we that's some more complex situation,
- 52:44Speaker 1: Stuart than this.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Okay, I'm just saying just because he gets life with
- 52:47Speaker 2: no parole doesn't mean he.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Can't get something can't happen, can't happen. Yeah, what is
- 52:54Speaker 1: it called a commutation? No, what is it called? Uh,
- 53:00Speaker 1: compassionate release? Things like that happened all the freaking time.
- 53:03Speaker 1: When they get to a certain age, they're just like, well,
- 53:06Speaker 1: just let them out, they're probably harmless, and then they
- 53:07Speaker 1: go and kill somebody. All right, So Shirley's mother of pearl. Unfortunately,
- 53:13Speaker 1: just three weeks after Shirley was murdered, she did pass away.
- 53:18Speaker 1: So the family's having to deal with both these things.
- 53:20Speaker 1: They said she was just it was just too much,
- 53:22Speaker 1: you know, dealing with it. I mean, because she was
- 53:25Speaker 1: she was She couldn't see and stuff, but she was her.
- 53:27Speaker 1: She was fully functional in terms of understanding what happened,
- 53:31Speaker 1: you know, to her daughter.
- 53:32Speaker 2: So yeah, she was just physical. Her mental status was fine.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Yeah, So it was just too much for her, they believe,
- 53:38Speaker 1: and she she passed away. So yeah, it's all around
- 53:42Speaker 1: just a depressing situations do because.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Some asshole needed some gas money.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Yeah, gas prices weren't even that bad in two thousand
- 53:53Speaker 1: and seven, No, were they? I don't know, I don't remember. No,
- 53:58Speaker 1: thanks were rough in two thousand and eight. That was
- 54:00Speaker 1: the crash, the big all the banks needed.
- 54:03Speaker 2: To be built out. The mortgages went tits up, tits up.
- 54:09Speaker 2: Yep mm hmmm.
- 54:11Speaker 1: All right, well that is our case for this week, stude.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Do you have a y'all need Jesus?
- 54:15Speaker 2: As always?
- 54:15Speaker 1: You know who needs Jesus me because of that whole situation.
- 54:20Speaker 1: At least I called nine one one. Nobody else even called.
- 54:25Speaker 1: You don't know that she didn't say you said you,
- 54:28Speaker 1: because whenever I told you what happened, you were like, oh,
- 54:31Speaker 1: did she say that they already were aware of it.
- 54:33Speaker 1: I was like, no, she's getting all the information from me.
- 54:35Speaker 1: And then I felt bad because I'm like, oh my god,
- 54:37Speaker 1: I'm the one giving directions for this.
- 54:40Speaker 2: To find it is not good.
- 54:42Speaker 1: So yeah, you have it ready to you're frantically looking.
- 54:47Speaker 1: I can see.
- 54:48Speaker 2: It in I gotta get back.
- 54:52Speaker 1: You look like those people at Chili's trying to use
- 54:55Speaker 1: my credit card after after they'd been declined already once
- 55:00Speaker 1: frantically looking for some other form of payment. They probably
- 55:03Speaker 1: just whipped out somebody else's with a bank that didn't
- 55:06Speaker 1: have as many security alerts and use that one instead.
- 55:12Speaker 1: You got it, Stu. I can only kill so much time. Okay, Oh,
- 55:16Speaker 1: I know how I'm gonna kill some time. So I
- 55:19Speaker 1: will say this, STU has to have eye surgery here
- 55:23Speaker 1: in the next couple weeks. Don't be looking at me, STU.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Just find your y'all need Jesus, Do you have it?
- 55:28Speaker 2: Yeah? I got one, you.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Have it now. I want to just say that this.
- 55:32Speaker 1: I had to stop this and delete some of this
- 55:34Speaker 1: because it was so long that I was trying to
- 55:36Speaker 1: delay for him to find this. But I will say
- 55:39Speaker 1: Stu has to have eye surgery here in the next
- 55:42Speaker 1: and it's like a detached retina. Is that what it is? Yes,
- 55:47Speaker 1: So it's a bit of a bit of a situation
- 55:49Speaker 1: because then he can't pick anything up over ten pounds
- 55:52Speaker 1: and are the smallest baby weighs probably nineteen or twenty
- 55:57Speaker 1: pounds at this point. I don't know. She's a man.
- 56:00Speaker 2: She is she's an eater.
- 56:01Speaker 1: She's an eater. Like it's so funny because we the
- 56:03Speaker 1: other two have never been eaters. And I know people say, oh, yeah,
- 56:07Speaker 1: when you have a baby, they'd ever eat everything. Well,
- 56:09Speaker 1: our two oldest ones are they ate. I wouldn't say
- 56:13Speaker 1: they were too picky, but they weren't. Well, this our
- 56:16Speaker 1: son was, but he had ended up having he has
- 56:18Speaker 1: a tongue tie. Anyways, the whole over death. But our
- 56:21Speaker 1: daughter she did like she wasn't necessarily picky. But they don't.
- 56:24Speaker 1: They never ate, even as babies, you know, fifteen month old,
- 56:28Speaker 1: eighteen month old, they would never eat, and they really
- 56:31Speaker 1: don't eat. Now we've had to cut out all snacks
- 56:34Speaker 1: they're not only we stop buying goldfish, all those things
- 56:37Speaker 1: because they'd fill up on those and they wouldn't eat
- 56:39Speaker 1: their dinner. So we've cut all that out. But this baby,
- 56:43Speaker 1: she eats her food. She eats whatever. The other two
- 56:46Speaker 1: don't eat. And so now at this point, I'm like,
- 56:48Speaker 1: you guys better eat your food or I'm giving to Sissy.
- 56:50Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden they start.
- 56:51Speaker 2: To shove up.
- 56:53Speaker 1: They're like, oh god, well eat the food. Yeah. She
- 56:58Speaker 1: ate like two pieces of pizza the other day, which
- 57:00Speaker 1: is a lot for We're like honestly like thinking like
- 57:03Speaker 1: where Stu was like, should we stop feeding her? And
- 57:05Speaker 1: I'm like, I think they know when they're full, that's
- 57:07Speaker 1: what they say. But she and then she'll walk around.
- 57:10Speaker 1: She got this big old pop belly, just like sticking
- 57:15Speaker 1: out the rest of that. She really motes some food
- 57:17Speaker 1: down the other night though, she ate that whole bag
- 57:19Speaker 1: of pasta herself. Yeah, plus plus all the rest of
- 57:23Speaker 1: the stuff that was supposed to be just the small
- 57:25Speaker 1: side and she ate the whole thing. So anyway, so
- 57:30Speaker 1: Stu's dad is coming to help out. So we may
- 57:35Speaker 1: not have episodes that those weeks, or at least that
- 57:38Speaker 1: week because I'm not recording with people in the home.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Just not doing it, guys. Okay, No, I can't do it.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Like I said, this is our secret podcast. Nobody knows
- 57:48Speaker 1: we have it. I try to keep it that way.
- 57:50Speaker 1: It's so definitely not.
- 57:51Speaker 2: Gonna be recording with Hey, Grandpa, go watch the kids
- 57:56Speaker 2: recording it.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, because he's gonna ask questions what were doing
- 58:00Speaker 1: in here? You know, like what are you guys doing?
- 58:02Speaker 1: He might go to sleep and we could do it.
- 58:03Speaker 1: I don't know, but unless we get ahead of it, uh,
- 58:07Speaker 1: I record ahead of time. I don't know. I might
- 58:09Speaker 1: just replay an older episode or something. You guys can
- 58:11Speaker 1: listen to that.
- 58:12Speaker 2: The Frog episode.
- 58:14Speaker 1: No, We're not going back that far. The audio is terrible,
- 58:16Speaker 1: and I'm so mortified by whatever I've said in the
- 58:20Speaker 1: early years, mortified. I mortified what I say, what I
- 58:24Speaker 1: said today, I feel like I'm gonna get canceled over that.
- 58:29Speaker 2: Dead body in the road.
- 58:30Speaker 1: We don't know if it was dead, and it was
- 58:32Speaker 1: not in the road it was it was a person
- 58:34Speaker 1: on the side of the road passed out or something.
- 58:37Speaker 1: But it was a hot day today.
- 58:38Speaker 2: So can it just been heat stroke?
- 58:41Speaker 1: It could have didn't say just heat stroke. No, I
- 58:44Speaker 1: think it was definitely some sort of drug or issues. Yes, Okay,
- 58:52Speaker 1: we're gonna stop talking about it. I'll try to find
- 58:54Speaker 1: out an update. You guys next.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Week, gona talk about I'm gonna keep talking about it.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Talk about it all victory record again, be like, why
- 59:03Speaker 2: didn't you do this? Why didn't you do that? Did
- 59:06Speaker 2: you think of this?
- 59:06Speaker 1: I should have came and got you, and it's right,
- 59:08Speaker 1: it was right by our house. I should have just
- 59:09Speaker 1: came and got you, and you could have drove back
- 59:11Speaker 1: over and assisted the person.
- 59:13Speaker 2: I could have.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you could have, but you didn't. Okay, Well read
- 59:17Speaker 1: your y'all need Jesus, motherfucker.
- 59:20Speaker 2: This comes to us from one oh one the station
- 59:24Speaker 2: wr IF.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Oh, okay, I'm familiar.
- 59:27Speaker 2: Yes, are you no, No, If they have a thing
- 59:32Speaker 2: called idiot Criminal of the Day, Okay, I don't know
- 59:35Speaker 2: if it's a morning zoo wonka walk, a honk a honk,
- 59:38Speaker 2: a thing or whatever these people do on their one
- 59:41Speaker 2: oh one.
- 59:41Speaker 1: I listened to a morning radio show in years I
- 59:46Speaker 1: didn't even know. I always wonder whenever I happened to
- 59:50Speaker 1: it doesn't turn onto my my iPhone or something like that.
- 59:54Speaker 1: I always wonder when I hear like radio DJs, I'm like,
- 59:57Speaker 1: I can't believe they're still still doing this, still doing
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: their thing and getting paid. I used to listen to
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Kid Kratick in the morning, and I was so upset
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: whenever he died. That was really depressing.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: You can still listen to the Kid Kratick show.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Yeah, they still call it Kid Kratick, but he's not
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: on there anymore. It's been like ten years.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: Well, obviously, if it was any good, I would have
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: listened to it. So don't and I don't know anything
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: about it, so oh, shut.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Up, stude. It's one of the biggest morning shows in
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: the Dallas area and it's broadcast all over the place.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: And I believe Kelly Rasberry is the one that's mentioned
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: our podcast A very long time ago. Someone told us.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Kelly Raspberry, Yes, she mentioned our podcast.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Remember that was a really long time ago when we
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: first started. Someone wrote a review and said, yeah, I
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: heard Kelly Raspberry mentioned your show on her podcast or
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: something like that, and that's how they found us. And
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: then we're like, I was like, oh my god, that's
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: like really cool and everything.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: So she's only gotten like tens of listeners too.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Them, No, she has millions of people.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Well it did not translate.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: It translated to one and they wrote a nice review.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: So there.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: And this was back when we had very poor audio,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: which we still kind of do because sometimes stud doesn't
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: talk into the microphone. So if you're wondering why that's happening,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: it's Stuke's fault.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: It's not my fault.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: And two that was back you know now Dateline everybody
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: has a freaking true crime podcast like and a network everyone.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: We've told you guys, we missed our boat. Okay, we
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: missed the ship. We're just riding along. We're just puddling along.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Now we're trying to catch up in our little dingy.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: Well we're trying to catch up.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: No, we're not. We're they've done left us in the wake.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: They've done left us in the wake. Stu, all right,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: go ahead, this.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Comes to us. November eighth, twenty twenty three, a thief
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: blabbed to his Uber driver about how he was on
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: his way to commit a crime Florida or not Florida.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Not Florida.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: Really. According to reports, a forty one year old thief
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: in Maine, Ah named Kevin Gray ordered a riot share
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: to a local TJ Max TJ maxes. He then blabbed
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: to the driver about how he was gonna rob the place.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: You're forty one, you call an uber to go to
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: a TJ Max to rob it? Where have you gone
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: wrong in life that you're robbing a TJ Max?
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: This is a this is from He's from Maine. He
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: could never hang with the Florida criminals.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta go somewhere that's got money. I can't
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: imagine a TJ Max has a lot of money in it?
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? St Have you ever been to
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: a TJ Max and seen the line of ladies that
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: are buying shit at the TJ Max wiping their cars,
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: swiping left and right here Ta.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Probably, Yeah, there's cash money.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: To there's cash money to still yes.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: Okay, if you say so. Well, the driver dropped him
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: off called the cops. Police identified the passenger as Gray,
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: and in addition to being a suspect in a crime
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: committed the previous day, they saw that he had warrants out.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: When they saw him exit the TJ Max and approach him,
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: there was a small foot chase, but they caught him
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: and he was arrested.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: I thought they ran background checks on whenever you sign
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: up for Uber to be a passenger to or they don't.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: I wouldn't think that they could get away with that.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: Gray had several sets of pre conviction bail conditions that
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: barred him from several businesses in the area because can
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: you guess why.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: No, I wasn't listening.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: Because of the theft charges at those stores. So he's
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: been robin stores and they all got like no, no trespass,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Yeah against him. Gray is facing charges in relation to theft,
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: as well as drug possession warrants and violations of conditions
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: of release. So there you go. There's a y'all y'all
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: need Jesus short quick to the point in and out
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: when I am bam, Thank you, ma'am. See you in
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: nine months.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: What's wrong with you? All right? Well, that's our episode
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: for this week. Again. We should be here next week
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: and then it might get a little dicey for two
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: weeks and then we'll be back. But we may we
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: don't know. Surprise, surprise, surprise, surprise.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: Just stop. We already have a trouble getting the people
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: to listen to this podcast.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: This is true, all right. We will see you guys
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: next week. Bye, everyone, say byetu bye. Do tell you
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: know it's bad to be SUPERSTI shot f. Nothing else
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: is working.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: This word you lay that a can today
