- 0:002nd Corinthians chapter 5. Let us pray.
- 0:08Lord God Almighty, who reigns on high, we love you, Lord Jesus,
- 0:12and we thank you for all the many blessings that you've
- 0:14already poured out upon us today.
- 0:17Thank you for life and thank you for breath.
- 0:19God, thank you for marriage. God, thank you for children.
- 0:23Thank you God for jobs. God, thank you for
- 0:26transportation. Thank you, God, for able,
- 0:28willing bodies. God, I pray, Lord, that you will
- 0:31give us the mind of Christ. Give us our marching orders.
- 0:36God, continue to bless us. Lord, bless us with your
- 0:40presence. Lord, bless us with more
- 0:42knowledge and love and understanding of your holy
- 0:45scriptures. Lord, I pray that we can be your
- 0:47hands and feet today. God, I pray that we'll take the
- 0:50whole word to the whole world. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 0:54for a supernatural zeal to consume us.
- 0:57God, I pray it'll eat us up. Father, I pray that we won't be
- 1:01able to be quiet. I pray that we'll be able to go
- 1:04out and to tell all the people that we meet today about your
- 1:08goodness and grace. Lord, we open up our hearts as
- 1:11we open up your word. I pray that you will jump in to
- 1:15our minds and our hearts and our bodies and our psyche and our
- 1:18conscience is God. We hide your word in our hearts,
- 1:22God, and let them come up and bubble up when in the time of
- 1:26need, whenever we are looking for the right thing to say or
- 1:29the right way to look at something.
- 1:31God, I pray that your word will never return void God, and you
- 1:35will never be mocked, God. And so, Lord, I pray in the name
- 1:39of Jesus for all those who have not yet placed their faith in
- 1:44you, Lord, I pray that today is the day of salvation, Lord.
- 1:47I pray that many will see their need for repentance.
- 1:50God, I pray that the church will rise up and be the church.
- 1:56God, I pray that we will be your hands and feet and the ones that
- 2:01the people come to. Lord for sound counsel.
- 2:04God, I pray that you will give us the ability to see this world
- 2:09all around us the same way that you do.
- 2:12Father, I pray that we will be able to rightly divide the word
- 2:16and rightly judge situations. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 2:20that you'll help us. Lord, be our everything, be our
- 2:24guide. We pray the Holy Spirit will
- 2:26fill us today, overflowing. We pray God for sound doctrine,
- 2:31sound theology. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 2:34that bodies will be healed and sight will be restored, the ears
- 2:39will be able to hear again, that people will be able to walk
- 2:43again. I pray in the name of Jesus for
- 2:45all the unclean foul spirits, all the demonic spirits to come
- 2:50off of the mentally ill, Lord, all those that are suffering
- 2:54from a mental disorder. God, I rebuke the Devourer from
- 2:58off of their minds, Lord, and I pray in the name of Jesus, Lord,
- 3:02that you will give us sound minds that we're able to reason
- 3:05and come together, God, and that we're able to learn from your
- 3:08word and be edified, Lord, and to grow and to mature, Lord, and
- 3:13to be sanctified today. God, I pray for the church at
- 3:16large. I pray for every brother and
- 3:18sister in the name of Jesus Christ to be encouraged.
- 3:27Lord, I pray encouragement over the church today.
- 3:31God, I pray that you'll stir something within us, fresh wind
- 3:36and fresh fire. God, as we trim the wigs, as we
- 3:40fill the lamps, God, I pray for the baptism of fire.
- 3:47God upon this house. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 3:51that you'll help us to see Yeshua high and lifted up.
- 3:56We love you. God, we thank you, Father, yes,
- 4:01Jesus, come, Lord, come soon, Lord, man off of the Spirit of
- 4:05the Bride say come. We wait patiently and
- 4:11expectantly, knowing that your ways are much higher than our
- 4:15ways. Your thoughts are much higher
- 4:17than our thoughts. And so God help us to wait.
- 4:21Well, help us, God, to snatch firebrands out of the fire, God,
- 4:28and give them new clothing, God, clothe them in your
- 4:31righteousness. Make them white as snow, Father,
- 4:35in the way that you did for us. Thank you, Lord, that all of our
- 4:38sins are forgiven. Thank you, Lord, that they'll
- 4:41never be counted against us. Thank you, Lord, that we can one
- 4:45day stand in your holy presence covered in the blood of Christ.
- 4:49Thank you, Lord, for all the eternal paths and truths that
- 4:52you've revealed to us. God, continue to to sanctify us,
- 4:56continue to show us your glory, Father, come and get your glory.
- 5:01God, glory in us as we choose you.
- 5:04We love you, Father, and it's in your holy and precious name that
- 5:07I pray, Amen. Let's start in verse one for we
- 5:20know that if our earthly House of this Tabernacle were
- 5:26dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands
- 5:31eternal in the heavens. So that is what happened
- 5:35whenever you came to the Lord Jesus Christ by faith is he
- 5:39deposited the Holy Spirit inside of you and now you have a piece
- 5:46of divinity that lives inside of you.
- 5:49Which is why when Jesus was talking to John the Baptist
- 5:53disciples, he said of all those born of woman, there have never
- 5:57been one greater than John. But the least in the Kingdom of
- 6:03God is greater than John the Baptist.
- 6:06Because we actually house and hold the third part of the
- 6:12triune nature of God Almighty. We have the Holy Spirit living
- 6:16inside of us friends, and He will share His glory with no
- 6:23one. Far be it from us to bring idol
- 6:27worship into the temple, friends.
- 6:31Far be it from us to bring graven images into the temple,
- 6:37friends. Far be it from us to bring
- 6:40vanity and greed and pride and materialism into the temple,
- 6:46Friends 2 For in this we groan earnestly, desiring to be
- 6:54clothed upon with our house, which is from heaven.
- 6:58So we can only see in part. We see dimly and darkly,
- 7:02friends, but one day we will see in fullness and be known,
- 7:08friends, as He is known. And you need to understand that
- 7:11we groan all of creation groans for Jesus Christ to make all
- 7:17things new. And we only have it in part now,
- 7:21but we will see it in the entirety and in its fullness
- 7:25eventually. But we must wait well.
- 7:29Do not outpace God. Stay in His perfect and pleasing
- 7:36will for your life. Do not try to manufacture your
- 7:40destiny, friends. Sit in the calling that God has
- 7:46placed upon your life and be content in that place today and
- 7:51wherever He found you. Friends, stay in that unless it
- 7:57is a sinful environment. God uses whatever arena that
- 8:02you're in to reach the people that only you can reach.
- 8:05There are people in your circle of influence that I cannot
- 8:09reach. They will not listen to me, but
- 8:11they will listen to you, and that is God's plan.
- 8:16Friends, we yearn and we groan, and we desire to have our
- 8:22immortal bodies, because God has placed eternity into the hearts
- 8:26of men. Three, if so be that being
- 8:31clothed, we shall not be found naked.
- 8:35So we are clothed in Jesus Christ righteousness.
- 8:39Friends, when we leave this earthly tent and we receive our
- 8:46immortal bodies, we will be clothed and unashamed, because
- 8:53we have the righteousness of Christ. 3 or 4 Four.
- 9:00We that are in this Tabernacle do groan, being burdened, not
- 9:07for what? Not for that we would be
- 9:10unclothed, but clothed upon that mortality might be swallowed up
- 9:16of life. So when you come to the Lord
- 9:20Jesus Christ and you receive the Holy Spirit, you yearn and you
- 9:24groan for the fullness of what you have tasted and seen, and
- 9:27God is the only one that could completely satisfy you but leave
- 9:31you longing for more. And that is what is referenced
- 9:34here. We long for the day that we will
- 9:36see Jesus face to face. We long for the day when we will
- 9:41take off this earthly tent and we will put on our immortal
- 9:46resurrected bodies that will last for all of eternity and
- 9:55they will be perfect. We we see.
- 9:58We look at the new wrinkles on our face every day.
- 10:03We look at the new Gray hairs that pop up every day.
- 10:07Our knee is bum, our elbow has tendonitis.
- 10:11We are falling apart and we see that this is not our home and we
- 10:16are just pilgrims passing through.
- 10:22We desire that mortality might be swallowed up with immortality
- 10:28friends, because that is what has been placed inside of us
- 10:32when we come to the Lord Jesus Christ and receive the Holy
- 10:36Spirit. 5 Now he that has wrought us for the self same
- 10:41thing is God, who also has given unto us the earnest of the
- 10:48Spirit. So you can see the triune nature
- 10:51here of God the Father, and God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.
- 10:563 and 1, You can see them all being played out right here,
- 11:01That it is for God's glory that Jesus Christ went to the cross
- 11:05and that He won for us our salvation so that we can put on
- 11:10His righteousness and He can impute into us His perfect
- 11:16purity so that we can house the Holy Spirit, friends, and be
- 11:20made right with God in his sight.
- 11:23And we're going to stand before Almighty God, and he's going to
- 11:26say, well done, good and faithful servant, come into the
- 11:30rest that I have prepared for you, friends.
- 11:33And we will be there only by what Christ did, not by anything
- 11:38that we do, friends. It is only what he did nothing
- 11:43of what we do or do not do Friends 6 Therefore, we are
- 11:51always confident knowing that while we are at home in the
- 11:55body, we are absent from the Lord.
- 11:58God wants us to have a know so kind of faith.
- 12:01He does not want you to have a hope So maybe so kind of faith.
- 12:05You need to ask yourself, if you were to die today, do you know
- 12:09where you would spend eternity? And really the only difference
- 12:13is if you have the blessed assurance, if you have the
- 12:17confidence of knowing that the blood of Jesus Christ is enough
- 12:21and blessed is the man who sins will never be counted against
- 12:25him, friends. And that is what you need to
- 12:27understand. And here he is referencing when
- 12:31we are absent from this body, we will be present with him.
- 12:37And you need to understand there is no soul sleep and there is no
- 12:42purgatory. God lives outside of time and we
- 12:47are already seated with Him in heavenly places.
- 12:52And this is hard for the futile mind to grasp and to understand.
- 12:57But when you take your last breath, just like He told the
- 13:02thief on the cross, today you will be with me in paradise. 7
- 13:11For we walk by faith and not by sight.
- 13:14We have to put our faith over feelings, friends.
- 13:19We cannot trust our feelings. Friends, feelings will lie to
- 13:24you. Feelings are the caboose that
- 13:27rocks back and forth at the back of the train.
- 13:30It is commitment unto our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 13:34Friends, being sold out to Jesus Christ that is the engine that
- 13:38pulls us over the hill. We cannot rely on feelings and
- 13:44emotions and circumstances to gauge where we are with the
- 13:49Lord. Sometimes God leaves us in
- 13:51seasons of silence. Sometimes God allows the sifting
- 13:56in our lives and it looks as if God is distant or that God is
- 14:00mad at us. And God doesn't allow these
- 14:02things in our lives to see what we'll do.
- 14:05God already knows what we're going to do, but God allows it
- 14:09in our lives so that we will see what we will do when we're
- 14:12sifted and when he feels distant.
- 14:16Will we go back to our old ways? Will we revert and regress and
- 14:22to digress back into sin and self and despair when God is
- 14:27distant and whenever the sifting comes?
- 14:30Or will we remain resilient? Will we be battle hardened
- 14:36friends and trust God? We walk by faith and not by
- 14:41sight. Eight.
- 14:44We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from
- 14:48the body and to be present with the Lord.
- 14:51That is what you need to understand.
- 14:53We are just pilgrims passing through a very strange land.
- 14:57When you finally get the blinders taken off, when you can
- 15:00finally see and hear the world all around you the way that God
- 15:04does, is something feels awry. Something feels a miss.
- 15:09Something feels as if we were created for more.
- 15:12We were created for a world beyond this one, friends, and we
- 15:16yearn for that. And that is what is referenced
- 15:19here. We want to be there with Him.
- 15:22But just remember the words of the Apostle Paul.
- 15:25To live is Christ, and to die is gain. 9 Wherefore we labor,
- 15:34that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
- 15:39So he's saying, Make sure that while you are here on this
- 15:41earth, you are working as unto Christ, but make sure that
- 15:47whenever you take your last breath, you're covered in the
- 15:50blood of Christ where you can enter in.
- 15:54It is not by works. It is not by how much money you
- 15:57gave, how many times you attended church, how many Bibles
- 16:01you own, how many eloquent prayers you prayed.
- 16:05It is not about that. It is all about Jesus Christ,
- 16:09and the innocent blood is what gets us into heaven. 10 For we
- 16:15must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that
- 16:20everyone may receive the things done in his body according to
- 16:24that he has done, whether it be good or bad.
- 16:27This is the Bema seat. This is where he says he's
- 16:31coming and his rewards are with him.
- 16:33During the seven-year tribulation, all of the Saints
- 16:37from John the Baptist all the way until the rapture of his
- 16:43church, every single person who has ever placed their faith in
- 16:48the Lord Jesus Christ, the dead being raised 1st and then the
- 16:52living, all go together to meet Him in the clouds.
- 16:56And we will sit at the Bema seat of Jesus Christ and receive our
- 17:01rewards while the entire world is hell on earth, unlike
- 17:07anything that this world has ever experienced.
- 17:10It'll be like the days of the Nephilim.
- 17:13It will be like the days before the flood when every thought
- 17:16continuously was evil and it grieved God that He had made
- 17:20mankind. And the Bible tells us that if
- 17:23He had not shortened those days, no one would survive.
- 17:26But you need to go over to Revelation chapter and you need
- 17:30to reference where it says because you have kept my word, I
- 17:34will keep you from the hour that is coming to test all the
- 17:38inhabitants of the earth. Friends, that is the promise for
- 17:41the Saint. That is the promise for those
- 17:43who have chosen to put our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ 100%.
- 17:48Now not holding anything back, not being reserved, not having a
- 17:54lukewarm Christianity. Friends, you need to be hot or
- 17:57cold for God Almighty. 11 Knowing, therefore, the terror
- 18:06of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto
- 18:13God, and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
- 18:20You need to understand that this is the motivation of every
- 18:26pastor, preacher, every leader who is accurately in tune with
- 18:34God. They understand the terror that
- 18:37is to come for every single person who takes their last
- 18:42breath and did not place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 18:50It is a death a billion times over and you cannot die.
- 18:55There is this terror of the Lord which is why He tells us now to
- 19:00work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
- 19:05It is this terror, friends, of what we have escaped.
- 19:09When you finally understand what was your due penalty for the
- 19:14sins that you were committing, then it will bring you into this
- 19:18terrible state where you do not want anyone to have to suffer
- 19:24that way. 12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but
- 19:32give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that you may have
- 19:36somewhat to answer them, which glory and appearance, and not in
- 19:40heart. These Corinthian Christians were
- 19:43much like the Christians of today, and they looked at the
- 19:46outward appearance, and they wanted to glory at all of the
- 19:50looks, and all of the handsomeness, and all of the
- 19:53beauty, and all of the eloquence.
- 19:55And they thought that by seeing all of of the nice attire and
- 19:59all of the homes and the cars and the private jets and all of
- 20:03the blessings of God upon a ministry, that it meant that
- 20:07they were blessed. But Paul saying that God does
- 20:10not look at the outward appearance, but He sees the
- 20:13heart, friends. He knows the heart of man,
- 20:17friends. And that is what he told Samuel
- 20:19whenever Samuel was trying to leave David out in the fields.
- 20:24Whenever Jesse was trying to leave David out in the fields
- 20:28and he says, look, I do not look at the outward appearance, but I
- 20:32judge the inner man. And that is what we need to
- 20:35understand, friends, that there are a lot of ravenous wolves in
- 20:39sheep's clothing and there are many who like Christ.
- 20:47There is nothing to draw us to them, and they have eternal
- 20:54words of God that they are pushing and preaching.
- 20:59That is accurate theology and doctrine.
- 21:02But we gloss over them because they're offensive to look upon.
- 21:09And Paul is telling the Corinthians do not look at the
- 21:13outward appearance, but judge the inward motives of a pastor
- 21:19and of a teacher and an evangelist.
- 21:22Are they just after your money friends?
- 21:24Are they just after the position?
- 21:27Are they just after the manipulation?
- 21:33Or are they accurately speaking for God Almighty?
- 21:4413 For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God, or
- 21:49whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
- 21:52So he's saying that they are out of their mind for God Almighty.
- 21:57They have lost all touch with reality for God Almighty.
- 22:01And he's saying, but if we are in our right mind, it is for
- 22:04your benefit, so that you do not see us completely undone.
- 22:09And you know, Paul was accused of being out of his mind
- 22:14whenever he presented his gospel, the gospel of the Lord
- 22:20Jesus Christ of Festus. And then you can also see that
- 22:24Jesus was accused of being out of his mind by his own brothers
- 22:30and mother. And you can see here that we are
- 22:32in good company when we are ridiculed and we are made fun of
- 22:37and people don't understand how we would stiff arm the things of
- 22:42this world for the gospel of Jesus Christ sake.
- 22:47We're in good company, friends. 14 For the love of Christ
- 22:52constrains us because we thus judge that if one died for all,
- 22:57then we're then we're all dead. And that is what he's saying is
- 23:02every blood vault born again believer who's going to bust
- 23:05heaven wide open has to die to self because of what Jesus
- 23:10Christ did on the cross. We can stiff arm all of the
- 23:14things of this world and think of them not as strange things
- 23:18and it is just a light affliction for us.
- 23:23It is just a reasonable service unto Him when we are not
- 23:29conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of
- 23:33our minds. It is the love of Christ that
- 23:38hems us in and every time you try to step out of the calling
- 23:42that's been placed on your life, something just does not sit well
- 23:47with you and you return back to it.
- 23:50Return back to your first love today. 15 And that he died for
- 23:57all that they which live should not henceforth live unto
- 24:00themselves, but unto him which died for them and rose again.
- 24:05That is the whole crux of the Christian walk, friends, is that
- 24:08we die to self. We take up our cross, and we
- 24:12follow Him, knowing that it is imminent death.
- 24:16We know that death is on the table.
- 24:18We know that martyrdom is on the table whenever we set ourselves
- 24:23in an arena full of hostile demonic haunts who desire to
- 24:28snuff us out and who desire to shut us up.
- 24:32But we do it all for the Lord Jesus Christ, counting the cost
- 24:36before we ever took that seat in that arena. 16 Wherefore
- 24:42henceforth know we know man after the flesh.
- 24:45Yeah, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now
- 24:49henceforth know we him no more. He's saying that he desires to
- 24:53know Christ and Christ crucified, not just the life of
- 24:57Christ, but Christ crucified and resurrected.
- 25:01And that is where the power of our immortal bodies come in, is
- 25:06from the down payment of the Holy Spirit within us. 17
- 25:11Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he's a new creation.
- 25:15The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become
- 25:20new. And that is what Christ is
- 25:22wanting and desirous of. He makes all things new.
- 25:27And you need to understand that if you are a regenerated man,
- 25:31the carnality has to go. That Romans 7 Christian.
- 25:36The gap keeps closing in as time goes on.
- 25:40God sanctifies us and we become more like Jesus Christ every
- 25:44single day. We do not get stuck in our sin
- 25:48patterns, friends. He breaks those things off of
- 25:51us. We become completely new
- 25:54creations and we need to be regenerated daily.
- 25:58We do not need to just trust in the old submission in in the old
- 26:05surrender. We need to surrender and submit
- 26:08every single day and get into the Word of God and get on your
- 26:12knees and pray for the world and pray for God to fill you with
- 26:17the Holy Spirit today. And we need to turn off all of
- 26:21the secular garbage. And we need to fill our minds
- 26:24with what is holy and what is pleasing and what is good,
- 26:28friends. And we need to make sure that
- 26:30we're replacing all of the evil that is on the external with all
- 26:36the holiness that God offers unto us.
- 26:39We are a new creation in Christ. We're not bound by all of our
- 26:43sinful behaviors. 18 and all things are of God, who has
- 26:50reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ and has given to us
- 26:55the ministry of reconciliation. We are ministers of
- 26:59reconciliation, friends. That is the role that we step
- 27:02into whenever we come in to the fold, whenever we are part of
- 27:07His flock. You need to understand that He
- 27:10places this ministry on you and you are called to be a peace
- 27:14maker, friends, not just a peacekeeper, but someone who
- 27:17makes peace by the very presence of the Holy Spirit inside of
- 27:22you. The holiness of God Almighty
- 27:25exuding out of us, friends. That is what He is after.
- 27:29For every single arena that we step into, we are the ministers
- 27:33of reconciliation, and He moved towards us while we were yet
- 27:39sinning. Christ died for us, Friends, He
- 27:43is the one who instigated this imputation.
- 27:47He took on our sins and He gave us His righteousness.
- 27:52And it is in that righteousness that we are made holy as He is
- 27:56holy, and we are able to be Saints, and we are able to be
- 28:00useful unto God through His Son Jesus Christ, to go out and to
- 28:05change the world for Him, friends, and to be the
- 28:09difference maker in this generation for such a time as
- 28:13this. 19 To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world
- 28:20unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and has
- 28:25committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
- 28:28This is a beautiful picture of what was happening at Calvary.
- 28:33Jesus Christ said, my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
- 28:43You need to understand that this is the picture of what you can
- 28:48see. God and Jesus and the Holy
- 28:51Spirit all working out that day on the cross. 20 Now then, we
- 29:01are ambassadors for Christ as though God did beg you by us.
- 29:07We pray you in Christ's stead be you reconciled to God.
- 29:13He instigated this reconciliation.
- 29:15We can be holy because he is holy and is not of works, is not
- 29:19of anything that we've ever done in all of our righteousness is
- 29:23filthy rags. And he took all of our sin away,
- 29:27and he gave us His Holiness and his innocence and his purity and
- 29:32his righteousness, so that we can stand before an almighty
- 29:36God, a holy God, and we can be entered in to all of eternity
- 29:41because of what Christ did for us.
- 29:44He begs, we'll end on 21 for he has made him to be sin for us.
- 29:52Who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in
- 29:57him. The righteousness of God is what
- 30:02we have and that is the only way that we can stand before
- 30:08Almighty God is because we have His righteousness imputed into
- 30:14us as Christ who knew no sin, took on the sin of the entire
- 30:23world. Where Adam sold us out, Jesus
- 30:27bought us back. How amazing is our God and His
- 30:34plans? Trust in them today.
- 30:43Know that you know that you know that you know that you're going
- 30:46to make it there today. And it's not a question of have
- 30:49you ever. The question is, are you now?
- 30:59Hope you've been blessed by this chapter.
- 31:01I know I sure have. I'm praying for you.
- 31:14I love you. See you back here tomorrow.
- 31:21God bless you.
