- 0:10Speaker 2: Rich Veldees is with us former Christian administration officials.
- 0:12Speaker 3: You work for Chris Christie, have been Folloisleach on a
- 0:14Speaker 3: lot of public service stuff.
- 0:15Speaker 4: Rivaldez calumnist now with the Washington Times.
- 0:18Speaker 5: This is America, Richiev. You're on the air with the Nation.
- 0:21Speaker 6: Nation with America with.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Your host, Rich Valdez.
- 0:27Speaker 5: What's up America.
- 0:28Speaker 4: I am Rich Valdes Valdez with an ask that Rich
- 0:30Speaker 4: Valdez on all of the social media. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome,
- 0:33Speaker 4: Monday night edition of the program. Happy to be back
- 0:36Speaker 4: with you guys. It's truly a blessing. And I want
- 0:39Speaker 4: to get into a bunch of stuff tonight because there's
- 0:41Speaker 4: so much going on right over the weekend. I tapped
- 0:44Speaker 4: in real quick to do a little quick addendum on
- 0:47Speaker 4: the Friday show so that you could be up to
- 0:49Speaker 4: speed on the Maluru arrest.
- 0:51Speaker 5: Right. But there's more now.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Nicholas Madudo has been brought to court right here in
- 0:56Speaker 4: New York City, and that's interesting. Plus we're gonna we
- 1:00Speaker 4: almost like sidestepped this whole thing of Zoram Mamdani getting
- 1:04Speaker 4: sworn in.
- 1:04Speaker 5: Right, I'm going to get to that.
- 1:06Speaker 4: We're going to talk about that with none other than
- 1:07Speaker 4: Curtis Sleeway's going to join us a little bit to
- 1:10Speaker 4: break that down for us. I had a good talk
- 1:12Speaker 4: with him on Friday, and I want you to hear
- 1:14Speaker 4: some of that. But I want to talk about everybody
- 1:17Speaker 4: that's up in arms, right, because the Venezuelan is large
- 1:20Speaker 4: and large part all over the country, in Miami and
- 1:23Speaker 4: New York, even in other parts of the world, dancing
- 1:26Speaker 4: in the streets.
- 1:26Speaker 5: Everybody's thrilled.
- 1:28Speaker 4: However, many on the political left in our country not
- 1:31Speaker 4: so happy, right, covering their faces, grabbing their cafia and
- 1:35Speaker 4: taking to the streets to complain that Nicholas Maludo has
- 1:39Speaker 4: been kidnapped.
- 1:40Speaker 5: It was Joe Biden and.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Kim Malaids, the Vice President of the United States, right,
- 1:44Speaker 4: Kamala Harris that put a twenty five million dollar bounty
- 1:51Speaker 4: on Nicholas Malulu. Right, it was not President Trump. Let's
- 1:54Speaker 4: not forget who did that. And yet it was Kamala
- 1:57Speaker 4: Harris that was taking shots President Trump for doing this,
- 2:01Speaker 4: saying that this was unlawful, and Secretary Rubio on the
- 2:04Speaker 4: Sunday Shows. I think this one's with Margaret Brennan on CBS,
- 2:08Speaker 4: setting the record straight, check this out.
- 2:10Speaker 7: I think what the president's saying is very simple, and
- 2:12Speaker 7: that is, as president of United States, he is not
- 2:14Speaker 7: going to go around telling people what he's not going
- 2:16Speaker 7: to do.
- 2:16Speaker 6: He's going to do. He's not going to go around
- 2:18Speaker 6: saying I won't do this, I won't do that.
- 2:20Speaker 7: Yes, I care about this issue, but I'll only go
- 2:22Speaker 7: so far he retains all this optionality. In the particular
- 2:25Speaker 7: case you're citing, this was an essence at its core,
- 2:28Speaker 7: a law enforcement function. Okay, the Department of Justice, dating
- 2:31Speaker 7: back in the Biden administration that had a twenty five
- 2:33Speaker 7: million dollar reward for his capture. So we have a
- 2:36Speaker 7: reward for his capture, but we're not going to enforce it.
- 2:39Speaker 7: That's the difference between President and Trump and everybody out.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Then Secretary Rubio made his way over to NBC with
- 2:45Speaker 4: Kristen Welker and she started grilling him, saying, well, it
- 2:48Speaker 4: was a complete failure in essence, right like many on
- 2:51Speaker 4: the left a saying the critics of the president are
- 2:54Speaker 4: now saying, you only took out Madudo, but you left
- 2:56Speaker 4: all the other bad guys there.
- 2:57Speaker 5: What gives check this out.
- 2:59Speaker 8: I need to take over the Venezuelan oil industry.
- 3:02Speaker 7: Well, we don't need to the first let me go
- 3:04Speaker 7: back up. We don't need Venezuela's oil. We have plenty
- 3:06Speaker 7: of oil in the United States. What we're not going
- 3:08Speaker 7: to allow is for the oil industry in Venezuela to
- 3:11Speaker 7: be controlled by adversaries.
- 3:13Speaker 6: Of the United States.
- 3:14Speaker 7: You have to understand, why does China need their oil,
- 3:16Speaker 7: Why does Russia need their oil, Why does Iron need
- 3:19Speaker 7: their oil? They're not even in this continent. This is
- 3:21Speaker 7: the Western Hemisphere. This is where we live, and we're
- 3:23Speaker 7: not going to allow the Western Hemisphere to be a
- 3:25Speaker 7: base of operation for adversaries, competitors and rivals of the
- 3:28Speaker 7: United States.
- 3:29Speaker 9: That specific oil cos we also.
- 3:31Speaker 7: Want to see that oil and the proceeds from it
- 3:33Speaker 7: hold on. We want to see the oil proceeds of
- 3:35Speaker 7: that country benefit the people of Venezuela. Why have eight
- 3:38Speaker 7: million people left Venezuela. Eight million, the single largest mass
- 3:41Speaker 7: migration probably in modern history, left Venezuela's in twenty fourteen
- 3:45Speaker 7: because all the wealth of that country was stolen to
- 3:48Speaker 7: the benefit of Maduro and his cronies in the regime.
- 3:51Speaker 7: But not to the benefit of people of Venezuela. You
- 3:53Speaker 7: know how destabilizing eight million migrants is.
- 3:57Speaker 4: So again setting the records straight Mark or Rubio and
- 3:59Speaker 4: in another exchange, I think this is the one I
- 4:02Speaker 4: was talking about with Margaret Brennan. Can we get that
- 4:04Speaker 4: one cued up?
- 4:04Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Of course, she's curious as to why not everybody was
- 4:08Speaker 4: arrested to check this out.
- 4:09Speaker 8: Curious because you just described the regime as still in place, essentially,
- 4:14Speaker 8: I mean, I'm curious why the Trump administration decided to
- 4:18Speaker 8: leave it intact and only arrest Nicholas Maduro and his wife.
- 4:23Speaker 8: The person who controls the police, the chief thug, dis
- 4:27Speaker 8: di Cabello. He's the Interior minister. He's been indicted by
- 4:30Speaker 8: the United States. He was in that indictment the administration released.
- 4:34Speaker 8: He's a narco terrorist. There's a twenty five million dollar
- 4:37Speaker 8: price on his head. He's still in place. The Defense minister,
- 4:41Speaker 8: who is deep ties to Russia, fifteen million dollar price
- 4:44Speaker 8: on his head, he is still in place. I'm confused.
- 4:48Speaker 8: Are they still wanted by the United States? Why didn't
- 4:51Speaker 8: you arrest them? If you are taking out the narco
- 4:55Speaker 8: terrorist regime.
- 4:56Speaker 6: You're confused. I don't know why that's confusing. There's still
- 5:00Speaker 6: very simple. We're not going to go in and then
- 5:01Speaker 6: wrap up.
- 5:02Speaker 7: You're gonna but yeah, but you can't go You're going
- 5:04Speaker 7: to go in and suck up five people. They're already
- 5:07Speaker 7: complaining about this one operation. Imagine the howls we would
- 5:10Speaker 7: have from everybody else if we actually had to go
- 5:12Speaker 7: and stay there four days to capture four other people.
- 5:15Speaker 6: We got the top priority.
- 5:17Speaker 7: The number one person on the list was the guy
- 5:20Speaker 7: who claimed to be the president of the country that
- 5:21Speaker 7: he was not, and he was arrested along with his wife,
- 5:24Speaker 7: who was also indicted. And that was a pretty sophisticated
- 5:27Speaker 7: and frankly complicated operation.
- 5:29Speaker 6: It is not.
- 5:29Speaker 7: Easy to land helicopters in the middle of the largest
- 5:32Speaker 7: military base in the country. The guy lived on a
- 5:34Speaker 7: military base, land within three minutes, kick down his door,
- 5:38Speaker 7: grab him, put him in handcuffs, read him his rights,
- 5:40Speaker 7: put him in a helicopter, and leave the country without
- 5:43Speaker 7: losing any American or any American assets. That's not an
- 5:46Speaker 7: easy mission. And you're asking me why didn't we do
- 5:48Speaker 7: that in five other places at the same time. I mean,
- 5:50Speaker 7: that's absurd. I do think this is one of the
- 5:53Speaker 7: most you know, daring, you know, complicated, sophisticated missions this
- 5:58Speaker 7: country has carried out in a very long time. Tremendous
- 6:01Speaker 7: credit to the US military personnel did it. It was
- 6:04Speaker 7: unbelievable and tremendous success. And today, an indicted drug trafficker
- 6:09Speaker 7: who was not the legitimate president of Venezuela, we don't recognize.
- 6:13Speaker 7: The Biden administration didn't recognize. Sixty something countries don't recognize,
- 6:17Speaker 7: the European Union doesn't recognize, and many countries in Latin
- 6:20Speaker 7: America don't recognize. He was a convicted He was an
- 6:22Speaker 7: indicted drug trafficker. He was arrested, his wife was arrested.
- 6:26Speaker 8: Right, But the others, the others who are also indicted,
- 6:29Speaker 8: are still system of course, the others who are also
- 6:31Speaker 8: indicted are still in place. So that's the point of
- 6:34Speaker 8: my questioning there. But you talked about not being the
- 6:38Speaker 8: legitimate you wanted us to.
- 6:39Speaker 6: Land on five other military bases.
- 6:41Speaker 8: No, I'm asking why you chose that this was the
- 6:44Speaker 8: limit of the military operation. But to your point that
- 6:47Speaker 8: you just made that because Maduro was not the legitimate president.
- 6:50Speaker 7: He was the guy was claiming to be the president, right, Well,
- 6:54Speaker 7: I'm cute.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Right, yeah, listen, those are facts, right, this is a
- 7:00Speaker 4: real thing. It's easy to say that we should have
- 7:03Speaker 4: done this and we should have done that. The reality
- 7:06Speaker 4: is it is hard enough to pull these things off.
- 7:09Speaker 4: I understand that one hundred and fifty people were killed
- 7:13Speaker 4: in order to get to Maduru. One hundred and fifty people.
- 7:15Speaker 4: And they're not kidding when they say he lived on
- 7:17Speaker 4: a military base. He did, so they had to take
- 7:19Speaker 4: out their air capabilities. That's what all that bombing was.
- 7:23Speaker 4: There's a big deal. I'm going to bring in one
- 7:25Speaker 4: of our military people maybe tomorrow for tomorrow's show, just
- 7:28Speaker 4: to give us a walkthrough of what an operation like
- 7:30Speaker 4: this entails, because it is rather complicated, and I get it.
- 7:34Speaker 4: I would love to have seen all these people arrested.
- 7:38Speaker 4: I saw a Navy seal making some commentary and he said, look,
- 7:41Speaker 4: easy would have been to go in there and kill
- 7:42Speaker 4: them all in and out. Nobody sees you coming, nobody
- 7:44Speaker 4: sees you leave. But to go in there and take
- 7:46Speaker 4: them out unharmed is a way different operation. There's plenty
- 7:49Speaker 4: more I want to get into because I think that
- 7:52Speaker 4: this is the latest talking point that it was not
- 7:54Speaker 4: worth doing because it was you know, these other people
- 7:56Speaker 4: are also indicted at co conspirators and blah blah, while
- 8:00Speaker 4: they're still there. I think this lends itself really, really
- 8:02Speaker 4: well to the idea of everybody that's saying, oh, because
- 8:05Speaker 4: Trump wants regime change. No, clearly he doesn't want regime change.
- 8:07Speaker 4: The regime is still there bon right period the end.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Now, a lot of people are upset about this, right Woopi.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Goldberg says it's illegal.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Her colleague Anna Navarro from Nicaragua, who lives in South
- 8:19Speaker 4: Florida amongst the Venezuelans. She weighed in, also saying that
- 8:23Speaker 4: this is a very important thing. And this woman, you know,
- 8:27Speaker 4: she hates Trump.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Listen to this.
- 8:28Speaker 10: Oh, today for me is a good day because Maduro
- 8:33Speaker 10: is out. He is a son of a bitch. I
- 8:36Speaker 10: hope this sends a message to the other sons of
- 8:38Speaker 10: bitches in the region. You may disagree with the way
- 8:43Speaker 10: Trump did it, but it's done. There was no way
- 8:47Speaker 10: that there was going to end any other way because
- 8:50Speaker 10: once he started bombing votes, and we have we've we've
- 8:54Speaker 10: bombed boats and alleged drug boats and killed over one
- 8:58Speaker 10: hundred and fifteen people. I think Trump thought getting rid
- 9:01Speaker 10: of Madua was going to be easy and my door
- 9:03Speaker 10: was going to scare easily. He didn't. It took him
- 9:08Speaker 10: doing this, So yeah, he did it without congressional authorization.
- 9:12Speaker 10: This was an act of war, all of these things.
- 9:14Speaker 10: But it's now done. I think it doesn't escalate from
- 9:17Speaker 10: here because the objective of this was to get Maduro out.
- 9:23Speaker 10: So and certainly there's an oil component. Certainly there's a
- 9:27Speaker 10: lot of Trump ego in this about you know, being
- 9:30Speaker 10: able to do it.
- 9:31Speaker 11: But it's done.
- 9:32Speaker 10: And I told one, I am.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Very happy that she's very happy. That's Anna Navarro. Now
- 9:41Speaker 4: her colleague from the view would be Goldworg.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Can I say that again? Wood be Goldberg.
- 9:47Speaker 4: She waited on this and said, listen, who actually voted
- 9:51Speaker 4: for this? Because apparently she's unhappy that this is going
- 9:55Speaker 4: on and she gets schooled yet again, well.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Perhaps no one is going to miss a tyrant like Madruro.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Is this an illegal thing? I mean, who voted for this,
- 10:06Speaker 3: who said, hey, yeah, go on in there and.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Do this, because originally wasn't it.
- 10:11Speaker 3: We was concerned about the drugs coming in and out,
- 10:13Speaker 3: and yet he pardoned like a giant kingpin. And so
- 10:19Speaker 3: is what is this all about a question?
- 10:21Speaker 9: Who voted for this?
- 10:22Speaker 11: The people in South Florida, the Venezuelan community, the Cuban
- 10:25Speaker 11: American community, then koraj when American community voted for this,
- 10:29Speaker 11: and for us, this is a very, very happy day.
- 10:32Speaker 11: When we see a dictator who has been part of
- 10:36Speaker 11: oppressing and abusing the Venezuelan people for twenty five years,
- 10:40Speaker 11: when we see him in handcuffs and held to some
- 10:43Speaker 11: sort of accountability. It brought me into two tears. It
- 10:46Speaker 11: brought me great joy. And you know, I live in
- 10:49Speaker 11: South Florida.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Are you okay with the way that it was done?
- 10:52Speaker 12: But you can?
- 10:53Speaker 5: I think both things can be true.
- 10:54Speaker 11: I think you can criticize and ask questions and have
- 10:57Speaker 11: concerns about the way it was done.
- 10:59Speaker 5: And what the means in the future. Right, And I
- 11:01Speaker 5: think you can.
- 11:02Speaker 11: Still celebrate that this murderous, corrupt, satistic son of a
- 11:07Speaker 11: bitch is out of Venezuela.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Yeah he has so.
- 11:10Speaker 11: I think for eight million Venezuelan exiles all over the
- 11:14Speaker 11: world people have fled from this man's tyrannical rule.
- 11:19Speaker 4: There you go. Even a broken clock is right twice
- 11:22Speaker 4: the day. Right to me, It's interesting. I didn't think
- 11:25Speaker 4: I'd see the day where this woman would have to
- 11:27Speaker 4: swallow her pride to give Trump credit. Even while you know,
- 11:31Speaker 4: throwing some shade, she still had to spit some facts here, right.
- 11:34Speaker 4: The bottom line is Maduro is a bad guy. Trump
- 11:38Speaker 4: just did the world of favor. He has been the middleman,
- 11:41Speaker 4: the oil man for China, for Russia, for Iran. When
- 11:45Speaker 4: was the last time any of those countries and their
- 11:47Speaker 4: governments did us a favor?
- 11:49Speaker 5: My point exactly.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Now, speaking of Maduru, I want to get into what
- 11:53Speaker 4: happened in court, because he was paraded into court to
- 11:56Speaker 4: make sure everybody knew he was in there. The cops
- 11:58Speaker 4: had the doors open so you could see that he
- 12:00Speaker 4: was in the back of the van that he was
- 12:02Speaker 4: being transported. Now it might have also been so they
- 12:04Speaker 4: can have a clear shot. If there were any threats,
- 12:06Speaker 4: I'm going to go with the first one. They want
- 12:07Speaker 4: everybody to see. They really want to embarrass this guy.
- 12:10Speaker 4: This was the purp walk of all purp walks. When
- 12:12Speaker 4: I worked at WABC, one of my colleagues, Lauren Conlin,
- 12:15Speaker 4: she was an entertainment reporter, still is and she does
- 12:18Speaker 4: true crime. She's terrific, and she was at the courthouse
- 12:20Speaker 4: today and I want to get an update from her,
- 12:23Speaker 4: Lauren Conlin, what's going on outside the Manhattan Federal Courthouse.
- 12:27Speaker 13: I just wrapped the arraignment for Nicholas Maduro and Celia Flores,
- 12:31Speaker 13: and it was actually very interesting for an arrangement, I
- 12:36Speaker 13: should say. But starting from the beginning, there was about
- 12:38Speaker 13: five ausa's sitting and behind them was the defense table.
- 12:43Speaker 13: So normally, in my experience, usually the defense table and
- 12:46Speaker 13: the prosecutor table is adjacent, but the defense was behind them,
- 12:50Speaker 13: and both Flores and Maduro walked in in navy blue
- 12:56Speaker 13: MDC VNX with the tan ants and Maduro had orange
- 13:01Speaker 13: shoes on and he also was shackled. Flora's was shackled
- 13:06Speaker 13: as well, if they didn't have handcuffs. He kind of
- 13:09Speaker 13: sat down, he shook his hands or shook the hands
- 13:12Speaker 13: of his lawyers, kind of adjusted his shirt, and they
- 13:14Speaker 13: both put headphones on because they used translators.
- 13:18Speaker 9: So I did.
- 13:19Speaker 13: Not see Flores and Maduro look at each other really
- 13:24Speaker 13: at all. I definitely did not see Madurero look at
- 13:27Speaker 13: his wife. He was very busy throughout the hearing or
- 13:30Speaker 13: the arrangement taking notes. And I'll get to some of
- 13:33Speaker 13: the stuff that he said, because it was again it
- 13:36Speaker 13: was just really interesting. So the judge, Judge Hellerstein, he
- 13:39Speaker 13: kind of goes through his spiel saying, you know, he
- 13:42Speaker 13: introduces himself.
- 13:43Speaker 9: He says, I'm here to make sure you receive a
- 13:44Speaker 9: fair trial.
- 13:45Speaker 13: YadA, YadA, and he then says something like, you know,
- 13:50Speaker 13: are you Nicholas Maduro. And Maduro stands up and instead
- 13:55Speaker 13: of just saying yes, I am, he says, I am
- 13:58Speaker 13: Nichola and this is in Spanish. I am Nicholas Maduro.
- 14:01Speaker 13: I am here, kidnapped. I was captured in my home
- 14:05Speaker 13: on January third. I am a prisoner of war. The
- 14:08Speaker 13: judge is kind of like, okay, okay, we just you know,
- 14:10Speaker 13: we just wanted to know if your name was Nicholas Maduro.
- 14:14Speaker 13: And he says yes.
- 14:15Speaker 9: So he waived a reading to the indictment.
- 14:18Speaker 13: He basically said he had the indictment in his hands
- 14:20Speaker 13: for the very first time, but his lawyers, you know,
- 14:24Speaker 13: they briefed him on it and he said I would
- 14:26Speaker 13: like to read it personally. I noticed he did stand
- 14:29Speaker 13: very strong, like he had you know, he was he
- 14:32Speaker 13: had conviction. When he was standing and speaking to the judge,
- 14:36Speaker 13: he was given his rights. You know, anything that he
- 14:39Speaker 13: says can be held against him, and the judge said,
- 14:41Speaker 13: you know, are you aware of this? And he actually said,
- 14:44Speaker 13: I was not aware of any of these rights until
- 14:46Speaker 13: until you told me.
- 14:49Speaker 9: Oh.
- 14:49Speaker 13: And then when it was sorry, I'm not laughing, it
- 14:52Speaker 13: was just again, it was interesting. When it was time
- 14:54Speaker 13: to enter his plea, they he basically said I am innocent.
- 15:00Speaker 13: I am a decent man, and his lawyer, Barry Pollock,
- 15:03Speaker 13: was like, uh, he just on the record, he means
- 15:06Speaker 13: not guilty.
- 15:07Speaker 9: There is a lot of talking.
- 15:08Speaker 13: Again, if you sit through arraignments, you know there's really
- 15:11Speaker 13: not necessarily this much talking from the defendants.
- 15:15Speaker 9: So after he.
- 15:19Speaker 13: Gave his plea, he sat down and they did the
- 15:22Speaker 13: same thing with Celia Flores and her attorney. I believe
- 15:27Speaker 13: Donnelly was the last name I have to just get.
- 15:29Speaker 13: The first time I didn't quite catch that, but she
- 15:32Speaker 13: they said, you know, are you Celia Flores and she says, yes,
- 15:35Speaker 13: I am Celia Flores. I am the first lady of Venezuela.
- 15:38Speaker 13: And again the judge is like, okay, cool, we just
- 15:40Speaker 13: you know, we just want to know your name.
- 15:42Speaker 9: And then she said about the indictment.
- 15:45Speaker 13: She says, I am innocent, I am not guilty of
- 15:47Speaker 13: anything that was mentioned here, or I'm completely innocent. And
- 15:52Speaker 13: then we went through the date and the time of
- 15:54Speaker 13: the arrest from the prosecutors and they said it was
- 15:57Speaker 13: January third, at eleven thirty am they were captured, and
- 16:01Speaker 13: then they arrived in New York City by plane at
- 16:05Speaker 13: four point thirty one pm. They gave them the right
- 16:08Speaker 13: to consult with the consulate offices of Venezuela, to which
- 16:12Speaker 13: Flores and Maduro vote said they would like to speak
- 16:16Speaker 13: with the consulate office.
- 16:18Speaker 9: Let me see. Oh.
- 16:20Speaker 13: And then when they were discussing the interpreter, they wanted
- 16:23Speaker 13: to make sure the court wanted to make sure that
- 16:26Speaker 13: Flora's and Maduro could understand everything. And Flora says, yes,
- 16:30Speaker 13: I understood, and I am taking notes, and he.
- 16:33Speaker 9: Said, and I would like to make a request.
- 16:35Speaker 13: I am requesting that my notes be respected and I
- 16:37Speaker 13: am allowed to keep them. And they said, yeah, well
- 16:41Speaker 13: that should be fine, We'll make sure that that's okay.
- 16:46Speaker 6: Oh.
- 16:46Speaker 13: And then Barry Pollock, who is Maduro's attorney, brought something
- 16:51Speaker 13: up about the procedure about the fees with the prosecutors
- 16:57Speaker 13: so I don't think he was a court appointed attorney. Again,
- 16:59Speaker 13: I just walked out of court and got my phone back,
- 17:02Speaker 13: so I haven't looked anything up. But when I write
- 17:04Speaker 13: something later, I will make sure I have all this information.
- 17:07Speaker 13: Oh and they also they waved bail both Maduro and Flores.
- 17:12Speaker 13: They said at this time they waved their bail application.
- 17:15Speaker 13: I did notice pre trial services they were there, and
- 17:17Speaker 13: I'm like, I don't think they're going to get bail,
- 17:19Speaker 13: but yeah, basically there's going to be a lot of discovery.
- 17:25Speaker 13: The word used was voluminous, of course, and so they
- 17:29Speaker 13: weren't The defense wasn't really comfortable with setting emotions deadline
- 17:33Speaker 13: schedule at this time, but they did schedule the next
- 17:36Speaker 13: hearing for March seventeenth at eleven am.
- 17:40Speaker 9: So oh oh.
- 17:42Speaker 13: And then it was brought up that Pollock wanted to
- 17:46Speaker 13: get a health and medical form at MDC on behalf
- 17:50Speaker 13: of Maduro to get some of his health issues taken
- 17:52Speaker 13: care of. And then also Celia Flora's attorney said that
- 17:57Speaker 13: she is in desperate need of an X ray because
- 18:00Speaker 13: she sustained serious injuries quote during her abduction. She maybe
- 18:06Speaker 13: has bruising or fractures on a fracture rip or something
- 18:10Speaker 13: like that. So and she I did notice she was
- 18:13Speaker 13: kind of standing up very slowly. But all right, that's
- 18:17Speaker 13: that's pretty much that for now. I will have a
- 18:21Speaker 13: written article with all the details up later on lamag
- 18:24Speaker 13: dot com. So yeah, thanks for following our coverage.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Lauren Conlin outside the courthouse covering the Maduro arraignment. Check
- 18:34Speaker 4: her out at La Magazine la mag dot com.
- 18:37Speaker 5: And I have more.
- 18:38Speaker 4: I've got some more Maduro stuff that I want to
- 18:40Speaker 4: share with you, but I don't want to give it
- 18:43Speaker 4: to you.
- 18:43Speaker 5: All. Well, I kind of have to write.
- 18:44Speaker 4: I mean, you got John Fetterman weighing in on the
- 18:48Speaker 4: twenty five million dollar bounty. You've got the Venezuela and
- 18:51Speaker 4: ambassador whining at the United Nations saying that his boss,
- 18:56Speaker 4: Nicholas Maduro was kidnapped. You've got the United States Attorney
- 19:00Speaker 4: for the District of New York on CNBC saying this
- 19:03Speaker 4: was a completely legal operation.
- 19:05Speaker 5: So much more.
- 19:06Speaker 4: I mean, there's really just so many things here. And
- 19:07Speaker 4: of course Tim and Tim and Tim Walls has dropped
- 19:11Speaker 4: out of the race for governor. We're going to get
- 19:13Speaker 4: into that, and some Nick Shirley and a little bit
- 19:15Speaker 4: of Minnesota before we chat with Curtis Sliwa.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Don't go anywhere. I'm Rich Valdez.
- 19:20Speaker 1: This is America. This is America. He's brown, he's bald,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and he's breaking it down.
- 19:47Speaker 9: Oh he still has some what's his dad, Rich Valdez?
- 19:53Speaker 5: All right, America, Welcome back.
- 19:54Speaker 4: It's rich Valdes Valdesz with ans at Rich Valdez on
- 19:58Speaker 4: all of the social media.
- 19:59Speaker 5: Welcome back.
- 20:00Speaker 4: And I want to talk about Nick Shirley and everything
- 20:02Speaker 4: that he exposed in Minnesota. But the first thing I
- 20:05Speaker 4: want to do is talk about ten men. Tim Walls.
- 20:08Speaker 5: That's right.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Some of you may know him more affectionately as tampon
- 20:11Speaker 4: Tim right, Governor Tim Walls.
- 20:13Speaker 5: He was the vice presidential candidate with.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Kim madiadis right, how bad you are the vice president
- 20:21Speaker 4: of the United States, Kamala Harris and Tim Walls. And
- 20:24Speaker 4: they didn't do too good in that last election. But
- 20:26Speaker 4: he was ripping and rearing ready to go to run
- 20:29Speaker 4: for governor of Minnesota until they started to discover billions
- 20:33Speaker 4: of dollars in front.
- 20:34Speaker 5: That's right.
- 20:35Speaker 4: You've heard all about it, and we're bringing you all
- 20:37Speaker 4: the receipts on that but today he made a big announcement.
- 20:40Speaker 5: Check this out age.
- 20:41Speaker 14: You're breaking political news out of Saint Paul, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- 20:47Speaker 5: Tim Walls will.
- 20:49Speaker 14: Not seek reelection as governor. And what a fall from
- 20:52Speaker 14: grace this has been for him. You might recall in
- 20:57Speaker 14: the spring of twenty twenty three, he pushed through several
- 21:00Speaker 14: progressive ideas to the state legislature, caught the attention of
- 21:04Speaker 14: Barack Obama, who went to Twitter to give his endorsement
- 21:09Speaker 14: for the programs, which eventually caught the attention of people
- 21:12Speaker 14: like Kamala Harris, who chose en to be his Her
- 21:16Speaker 14: running mate is the vice president introduced in Chicago at
- 21:20Speaker 14: the convention in August of last year, a debate that
- 21:24Speaker 14: was an absolute disaster, with Jade Vance at one point
- 21:27Speaker 14: called himself a knucklehead. But after reportedly billions of dollars
- 21:34Speaker 14: have been stolen from taxpayers by way of the state
- 21:37Speaker 14: of Minnesota, Tim Wall says he will not seek a
- 21:41Speaker 14: third term. What a remarkable two years in the national
- 21:45Speaker 14: spotlight has been for him.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Dana, and well, check this out. I say that's called
- 21:50Speaker 4: taking the money and running right. Whatever fraud they pulled off,
- 21:54Speaker 4: whatever money he promised to the Somali community, to this community,
- 21:58Speaker 4: to that community. He did what he had to do
- 22:00Speaker 4: and now he's out. I'm not applauding it. I'm not
- 22:03Speaker 4: saying it's right. I'm just saying this is how politicians work,
- 22:06Speaker 4: especially on the left side of our political spectrum. They
- 22:09Speaker 4: tend to always figure out a way to give away
- 22:11Speaker 4: more tax dollars and then disappear and nobody gets in
- 22:14Speaker 4: trouble for it. And I want to get into this
- 22:17Speaker 4: Nick Shirley stuff, right, Nick Shirley's this enterprising young journalist
- 22:22Speaker 4: video journalist. If you don't want to use the word
- 22:24Speaker 4: journalist because he didn't go to journalism school, that's okay,
- 22:27Speaker 4: you don't have to. I don't like the term journalist myself.
- 22:30Speaker 4: I don't like to be called a journalist. So we
- 22:33Speaker 4: can call him whatever you want to call him. You
- 22:34Speaker 4: can call him a content creator, which is a term
- 22:37Speaker 4: I hate. You can call him a YouTuber, which is
- 22:39Speaker 4: another kind of diminutive term. You can call him whatever
- 22:42Speaker 4: you want. But the reality is the guy is doing
- 22:46Speaker 4: his thing, and he's a young man.
- 22:48Speaker 5: He's a young man. He's doing his thing.
- 22:50Speaker 4: He's asking the questions that many in the media are
- 22:53Speaker 4: not asking, and not because they're not worth asking, but
- 22:56Speaker 4: because they're just afraid to ask. Right, Apparently Nick Shirley
- 23:01Speaker 4: is as young as he is, He's figured out what
- 23:05Speaker 4: people want to know. And I think that's so important.
- 23:09Speaker 4: You need to ask the questions that people want the
- 23:12Speaker 4: answers to. You need to ask, you know. I guess
- 23:16Speaker 4: like the old saying, you have to scratch where it itches,
- 23:19Speaker 4: bottom line. And he blew the lid off of this
- 23:21Speaker 4: daycare fraud coming out of Minnesota, and of course there's
- 23:25Speaker 4: been a lot of pushback on that. Right now, Nick Shirley,
- 23:29Speaker 4: he did this report, this initial report. I wonder did
- 23:34Speaker 4: I send that to you, mister o'tero, the initial report
- 23:37Speaker 4: from Nick Shirley, and may or may not have.
- 23:39Speaker 5: I got the one clip of him being confronted.
- 23:42Speaker 4: I don't know if you've Oh yeah, that's kind of
- 23:43Speaker 4: like a follow up. So in the initial clip he
- 23:47Speaker 4: does this report, he goes out and he starts knocking
- 23:49Speaker 4: on doors and he's like hi, with its camera in hand,
- 23:52Speaker 4: microphone in hand, and he's like, hey, look, I'm here
- 23:55Speaker 4: and I'd like to enroll my son, Nick Junior in
- 23:58Speaker 4: your daycare. The thing is these care facilities and you've
- 24:01Speaker 4: probably seen this, But for anybody who's been checked out
- 24:03Speaker 4: or been on vacation, I know a lot of you have,
- 24:05Speaker 4: you may have missed this. So he's going door to
- 24:08Speaker 4: door at this list of daycare centers in Minnesota. One
- 24:12Speaker 4: by one, he's finding that there's nobody there during what
- 24:16Speaker 4: we would consider to be work hours. Nobody, nobody to
- 24:19Speaker 4: be found. So it's very interesting, right. So he's there
- 24:22Speaker 4: now he's talking with another guy who'd helped him with
- 24:25Speaker 4: the research, and the guy's telling him this has been
- 24:26Speaker 4: going on for quite a while. Interestingly, it seems like
- 24:29Speaker 4: it's a scam, right. The whole thing is a scam
- 24:33Speaker 4: that honestly has been going on for quite a while.
- 24:35Speaker 4: So he got a lot of national attention in the
- 24:39Speaker 4: time that he put this thing out, which I think
- 24:41Speaker 4: was right around Christmas time, So just a week ago
- 24:44Speaker 4: he puts this video out where he goes to multiple
- 24:47Speaker 4: facilities and everybody's up in arms. Now they're saying they
- 24:50Speaker 4: don't like what he's doing and this and that. But
- 24:53Speaker 4: I got this clip here and I can't wait to
- 24:56Speaker 4: find it. Let me just find it real quick, because
- 24:59Speaker 4: this is some thing that I think you're gonna find interesting.
- 25:03Speaker 4: This is not a new problem, right, Nick Shirley is
- 25:07Speaker 4: pulling on a thread, the latest thread. But this thing's
- 25:11Speaker 4: been going on since twenty eighteen. As far back as
- 25:14Speaker 4: twenty thirteen, Fox nine did a report on this. I
- 25:17Speaker 4: want you to listen to this report. It's a little
- 25:20Speaker 4: bit more than a minute.
- 25:21Speaker 5: It is eye opening. Do we have that on, mister Roseerro?
- 25:24Speaker 5: All right, check this out.
- 25:25Speaker 15: It's the morning of March fifteenth. We're chasing a tip
- 25:29Speaker 15: about a man who's leaving the country. Our sources tell
- 25:33Speaker 15: us he just took a carry on bag through security
- 25:36Speaker 15: that was packed with a million dollars cash. You can
- 25:40Speaker 15: do that as long as you fill out one of
- 25:42Speaker 15: these government forms. We're told these cloak and daggerlike scenarios
- 25:46Speaker 15: now happen almost weekly at MSP International. The money is
- 25:50Speaker 15: usually headed to the Middle East, Dubai and points beyond.
- 25:55Speaker 15: Our sources say last year alone, more than a one
- 25:58Speaker 15: hundred million cash left MSP in carry on luggage. What
- 26:05Speaker 15: we were interested in is where it was going. The
- 26:08Speaker 15: national go to expert on what's behind these mysterious money
- 26:11Speaker 15: transfers is Glenn Kerns. He's a former Seattle police detective
- 26:16Speaker 15: who spent fifteen years on the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task
- 26:20Speaker 15: Force until his retirement, s.
- 26:22Speaker 16: It's an outright grime. It's unbelievable.
- 26:24Speaker 15: Kerns tracked millions of dollars in cash that was leaving
- 26:28Speaker 15: on flights from Seattle. It was coming from howalas. Businesses
- 26:32Speaker 15: used to curry your money to countries that have no
- 26:34Speaker 15: official banking system. Some immigrant communities rely on houalas to
- 26:39Speaker 15: send funds to help impoverished relatives back home. Kerns discovered
- 26:44Speaker 15: some of the money was being funneled to a hawala
- 26:47Speaker 15: in a region of Somalia that's controlled by the Al
- 26:50Speaker 15: Shabab terrorist group. How could they possibly come up with
- 26:54Speaker 15: such big bucks to transfer back home.
- 26:56Speaker 14: We had sources that told us it's all about the
- 27:00Speaker 14: it's welfare fraud, it's all about the daycare.
- 27:03Speaker 15: To better understand the connection between daycare fraud and the
- 27:07Speaker 15: surge and carry on cash, you have to look at
- 27:10Speaker 15: the history of this crime. Five years ago, the Fox
- 27:13Speaker 15: nine investigators were first to report that daycare fraud was
- 27:17Speaker 15: on the rise here in Minnesota. We exposed how some
- 27:20Speaker 15: businesses were gaming the system to steal millions in government
- 27:24Speaker 15: subsidies meant to help low income families with their childcare expenses.
- 27:29Speaker 9: It's a great way to make some money.
- 27:31Speaker 5: I think it's kind of that informal word of mouth.
- 27:34Speaker 15: In order for the scheme to work, the daycare centers
- 27:37Speaker 15: need to sign up low income families that qualify for
- 27:40Speaker 15: childcare assistance funding. These surveillance videos are from a case
- 27:44Speaker 15: prosecuted by Hennepin County. They show parents checking their kids
- 27:49Speaker 15: into a center, only to leave with them a few
- 27:51Speaker 15: minutes later. Sometimes no children would show up, but either way,
- 27:57Speaker 15: the center would bill the state for a full day childcare.
- 28:01Speaker 5: So you've got these people. Forgive me. I had hit
- 28:04Speaker 5: the mute button.
- 28:05Speaker 4: So this is eye opening, and I wanted you to
- 28:06Speaker 4: hear the whole thing because to me, this is mind blowing.
- 28:09Speaker 4: The fact that that news isn't from today. That news
- 28:12Speaker 4: is from twenty thirteen, flashing back to twenty eighteen, or
- 28:15Speaker 4: twenty eighteen flashing back to twenty thirteen, and we're in
- 28:18Speaker 4: twenty twenty six. This has long been a problem in
- 28:22Speaker 4: that same neck of the woods. With cash, literal cash.
- 28:26Speaker 4: They pretend to have a business. They extort the government
- 28:29Speaker 4: for this money. Obviously, someone in the government is allowing
- 28:32Speaker 4: this to happen. The money goes right back into the
- 28:35Speaker 4: hands of these couriers. They get on planes and they
- 28:38Speaker 4: bring cash to the al Shabab terrorists that work with
- 28:42Speaker 4: ISIS and ISIS related groups all over Somalia.
- 28:47Speaker 5: Wow.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Right, So now Nick Shirley's now pulling on this thread
- 28:52Speaker 4: and he's getting further than anybody.
- 28:53Speaker 5: Had it not been for.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Him, we wouldn't even found this old file tape, right
- 28:57Speaker 4: because back then when it was unearthed, they figured out
- 29:00Speaker 4: at that time all we have to do is say
- 29:02Speaker 4: that this person is being a racist, homophobe, misogynist, islamophobe,
- 29:08Speaker 4: and you're a bad person.
- 29:10Speaker 5: You can't say that.
- 29:11Speaker 4: And while a things go away, right, the media is
- 29:14Speaker 4: afraid to talk about it, and so on and so forth.
- 29:18Speaker 4: But now the story's changed. And what's interesting is and
- 29:22Speaker 4: this is something I spoke about a little while ago,
- 29:24Speaker 4: if you were tuned in earlier, I was talking about
- 29:26Speaker 4: it with dom Jiordano.
- 29:27Speaker 5: And it remains true.
- 29:31Speaker 4: We have a whole thing going on now, a shift
- 29:36Speaker 4: towards how people get information. People used to watch the news,
- 29:41Speaker 4: and when I say people, I'm using it in the
- 29:43Speaker 4: broadest sense. Obviously, you listening to talk radio are part
- 29:47Speaker 4: of the smartest Americans in the world.
- 29:49Speaker 5: Right.
- 29:49Speaker 4: I interviewed a guy once, many times actually, but his
- 29:52Speaker 4: name is Jim Agresti's the president of Just Facts, and
- 29:55Speaker 4: he actually did a study and the study concluded that
- 29:59Speaker 4: listeners have talk radio, and in particular conservative talk radio,
- 30:02Speaker 4: are literally smarter by way of their test scores and
- 30:06Speaker 4: IQ and all that. He had all the facts and
- 30:08Speaker 4: figures and he's got all the receipts. So count yourself
- 30:12Speaker 4: as one of the smartest people ever, not because of
- 30:14Speaker 4: anything I'm doing, but because of you and how much
- 30:16Speaker 4: the news you consume, how much analysis you consume, and
- 30:20Speaker 4: the frequency in which you do it. But many people
- 30:22Speaker 4: don't do that, and now more and more people are.
- 30:25Speaker 4: But their source isn't just radio. They go to YouTube,
- 30:28Speaker 4: they go to Spotiffy, excuse me, Spotify, they go to
- 30:31Speaker 4: Apple Music, they listen to podcasts, they listen to Rogan,
- 30:34Speaker 4: and they listen to lots of things. It's not just
- 30:37Speaker 4: TV and radio like it was for a very long time.
- 30:40Speaker 4: So this stuff matters. And that's where Nick Shirley comes in.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Where he's dominating on social media. He's dominating on YouTube,
- 30:47Speaker 4: right because that is the fastest growing medium.
- 30:50Speaker 5: Right.
- 30:50Speaker 4: We're not building radio stations left and right, but we
- 30:53Speaker 4: are cranking out more digital content like it's going out
- 30:57Speaker 4: of style. So clearly this message is now reaching wider,
- 31:02Speaker 4: bigger audiences, and people are asking the questions, how did
- 31:07Speaker 4: this happen?
- 31:08Speaker 5: What is going on?
- 31:10Speaker 4: And to the surprise of many, you've got governors like
- 31:13Speaker 4: Tim Walls who think that it's important for this to happen.
- 31:18Speaker 5: Right.
- 31:18Speaker 4: Tim Walls is on the record saying that we need
- 31:21Speaker 4: to make childcare easier, and obviously that's what led to
- 31:26Speaker 4: this fraud to begin with. Mister Otra, if you have
- 31:29Speaker 4: the Tim Walls, go right ahead.
- 31:30Speaker 12: As far as childcare on this, you have to take
- 31:33Speaker 12: it at both the supply and the demands side. You
- 31:36Speaker 12: can't expect the most important people in our lives to
- 31:38Speaker 12: take either our children or our parents to get paid
- 31:42Speaker 12: the least amount of money. And we have to make
- 31:44Speaker 12: it easier for folks to be able to get into
- 31:46Speaker 12: that business and then to make sure that folks are
- 31:48Speaker 12: able to pay for that. We were able to do
- 31:50Speaker 12: it in Minnesota, and I'm still telling you this. We
- 31:52Speaker 12: were listed as the best state. We're still in crisis
- 31:55Speaker 12: on this A federal program of paid family medical leave
- 31:58Speaker 12: and help with this will enhance our workforce, enhance our families,
- 32:01Speaker 12: and make it easier to have the children that you want.
- 32:04Speaker 5: Make it easier. So somehow the government.
- 32:07Speaker 4: I don't know about you, but I never said, you
- 32:09Speaker 4: know what, honey, let's have a baby. Hold on, let
- 32:12Speaker 4: me call my governor. Let me call the governor of Minnesota.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Make sure you know he's going to enable me to
- 32:17Speaker 4: have the kids that I want.
- 32:19Speaker 5: What a sin?
- 32:19Speaker 6: I mean?
- 32:20Speaker 5: This is a real true blue.
- 32:23Speaker 4: Comie collectivist, just like Mom, Donnie, just like Sanders, just
- 32:27Speaker 4: like the rest of them. The point of this is
- 32:29Speaker 4: here he is telling you exactly how the sausage is
- 32:31Speaker 4: being made. He's saying, we've got to make childcare easier
- 32:34Speaker 4: and more accessible. And they've done the same thing with
- 32:38Speaker 4: health care home healthcare. So for elderly people. I can
- 32:42Speaker 4: share my own experience with this, right. My dad and
- 32:44Speaker 4: my mom both were ill before they passed away, and
- 32:49Speaker 4: I for my mom, she was able to get through
- 32:53Speaker 4: her insurance, she was able to get several very minimal
- 32:57Speaker 4: like four hours per day. At first, it was like
- 33:00Speaker 4: four hours a week of someone to help her around
- 33:02Speaker 4: the house because she was oxygen dependent. And then with
- 33:05Speaker 4: my dad's turn, he couldn't because of assets and whatever.
- 33:09Speaker 4: He never qualified. The insurance didn't cover it for more
- 33:12Speaker 4: than you know, like four hours per week if he
- 33:15Speaker 4: was recently hospitalized. But he clearly couldn't be a home alone,
- 33:20Speaker 4: and so I paid somebody out of pocket to take
- 33:22Speaker 4: care of my dad, and ultimately I ended up after
- 33:27Speaker 4: my job in the state government, I stayed home full
- 33:32Speaker 4: time with my dad until he passed away, for two
- 33:34Speaker 4: straight years and living off of savings. And I say
- 33:39Speaker 4: that to say that was a very difficult time for
- 33:41Speaker 4: me and for my family. There are these programs in
- 33:44Speaker 4: places like New York and Minnesota and other states now
- 33:47Speaker 4: have adopted this where you can just call the state
- 33:49Speaker 4: and say, hey, look, I take care of my elderly
- 33:51Speaker 4: loved one. Can you pay me to take care of them?
- 33:53Speaker 4: And you now become, I guess, an employee of the state.
- 33:56Speaker 4: I don't know where they get this money, but obviously
- 33:58Speaker 4: from you and me, and they they funnel it however
- 34:01Speaker 4: they funnel it, whether it's through a health plan or
- 34:03Speaker 4: whether it's right through the government or through some county agency,
- 34:06Speaker 4: or however they want to wash this money. But they
- 34:08Speaker 4: take tax dollars and they put them into the hands
- 34:11Speaker 4: of these people. Now, on its face, it sounds like
- 34:13Speaker 4: a wonderful thing. Wow, you don't have to go into
- 34:16Speaker 4: poverty and live off savings or what if you don't
- 34:18Speaker 4: have savings, then you know you're done. You can't feed
- 34:20Speaker 4: your kids because you've got to take care of your parents, right.
- 34:22Speaker 4: They call it the Sandwich generation. Interesting here is that
- 34:28Speaker 4: these people now are saying, oh, I take care of
- 34:32Speaker 4: my mom, Oh I take care of my dad, and
- 34:34Speaker 4: they're getting this money. Meanwhile, they're not taking them care
- 34:36Speaker 4: of anybody, and they're just defrauding the government. And I'm
- 34:39Speaker 4: not saying all of them are doing it, but it's
- 34:41Speaker 4: another part of this same fraud scheme that they're doing
- 34:44Speaker 4: what they do with the money.
- 34:45Speaker 5: Maybe they go shopping, or maybe.
- 34:47Speaker 4: They're turning it into cash, you know, cashing these checks
- 34:50Speaker 4: and saying, let's stack these dollars up, put them in
- 34:53Speaker 4: a suitcase and send them to Somalia, to al Shabab.
- 34:56Speaker 4: If somebody were to tell me that, prior to hearing
- 34:58Speaker 4: everything I just heard and seeing the paper trail, I
- 35:01Speaker 4: would have said that that's a stretch.
- 35:02Speaker 5: I don't know if it's exactly like that, but.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Now hearing Tim Wallas talk about we've got to make
- 35:07Speaker 4: it easier for them to do this, it seems to
- 35:09Speaker 4: be not the only place in America doing it, but
- 35:12Speaker 4: definitely one of the most obvious cases of fraud and
- 35:14Speaker 4: corruption that we've seen in a long time. So what gives. Well,
- 35:17Speaker 4: now everybody's mad. They're mad at Nick Shirley on CNN.
- 35:20Speaker 4: People are coming at Nick Shirley saying that he's just
- 35:24Speaker 4: a YouTuber, he's not good for anything. You know, how
- 35:28Speaker 4: could we give such credence to someone that is just not,
- 35:35Speaker 4: you know, a bona fide journalist. Why are we elevating
- 35:39Speaker 4: him and giving him this platform. There's other people that
- 35:42Speaker 4: are approaching him on the street, confronting him saying, hey, look,
- 35:46Speaker 4: you know you're doing this because you hate Muslims.
- 35:49Speaker 5: And I think we have one.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Of those clips of Nick Shirley being confronted and it's
- 35:53Speaker 4: very eye opening.
- 35:55Speaker 5: Listen to this.
- 35:56Speaker 6: How are you doing man?
- 35:56Speaker 17: I want to ask you you, sir, why are you
- 35:59Speaker 17: sensational as in the propaganda?
- 36:02Speaker 5: What are we sizing attack our community? What's your final objective?
- 36:07Speaker 5: We're not attacking your community by any means? Are you
- 36:09Speaker 5: making good money from this? We're looking for fraud. Can
- 36:14Speaker 5: you answer a question? Where's the far you transportation company
- 36:16Speaker 5: six or ue? It's not there? How much? How much money?
- 36:19Speaker 16: Are you answer?
- 36:20Speaker 5: How much money are you? Are you able to pause it?
- 36:23Speaker 6: All?
- 36:23Speaker 5: Right? Good?
- 36:24Speaker 6: Now?
- 36:24Speaker 5: Quick question here.
- 36:25Speaker 4: You tell me a scenario where this guy's line of
- 36:27Speaker 4: questioning makes any sense?
- 36:29Speaker 5: Right?
- 36:29Speaker 4: And I get the argument he's trying to make. He's
- 36:32Speaker 4: trying to paint Nick Shirley as you are sensationalizing this
- 36:35Speaker 4: stuff just to make money on it because you are
- 36:38Speaker 4: a greedy, mean, Islamophobic capitalist.
- 36:43Speaker 5: I get the argument.
- 36:44Speaker 4: But what I'm saying is if it were me sitting
- 36:46Speaker 4: here on this radio station saying, hey listen, uh, these
- 36:51Speaker 4: guys in in in little Mogadishu are go ahead, going
- 36:55Speaker 4: ahead and robbing the government blind. And if he approach me,
- 36:58Speaker 4: do you think he's gonna ask me? Are you making
- 37:00Speaker 4: good money from this?
- 37:02Speaker 6: Ah?
- 37:02Speaker 4: He might, but I would say he probably isn't. Why
- 37:06Speaker 4: Because it's radio. And if you're in radio, or you're
- 37:10Speaker 4: in TV like terrestrial radio or broadcaster cable TV, then
- 37:15Speaker 4: you're good. But if you're in some other form of
- 37:19Speaker 4: media communication. Somehow you lack legitimacy, which maybe was a
- 37:23Speaker 4: thing when I got into this business, you know, eight
- 37:26Speaker 4: years ago, but I don't think it's a thing today.
- 37:29Speaker 4: Nobody's gonna stand here and tell me that guys like
- 37:31Speaker 4: Nick Shirley and others like him that are very successful
- 37:34Speaker 4: with their YouTube businesses aren't killing the game. And I
- 37:38Speaker 4: don't just mean financially. The only way you make money
- 37:42Speaker 4: is by producing stuff that people want to watch. If
- 37:45Speaker 4: you are some sort of one hit wonder, clickbait type
- 37:48Speaker 4: of person, you might get a million views today, but
- 37:50Speaker 4: it doesn't mean you're gonna get him tomorrow. You have
- 37:53Speaker 4: to consistently produce a show that people want to watch.
- 37:58Speaker 4: And the proof is in the putt with a guy
- 38:00Speaker 4: like Nick Shirley. He's been doing this for a while.
- 38:03Speaker 4: I've seen him on social media for quite a while,
- 38:05Speaker 4: and and now here he is being approached by this
- 38:08Speaker 4: man from the community who's out here trying to make
- 38:11Speaker 4: him look like he's doing the wrong thing by exposing
- 38:13Speaker 4: the fraud.
- 38:14Speaker 5: Go ahead, nine security, How much money are you making money?
- 38:18Speaker 17: That's how I make my money up, so you're making
- 38:20Speaker 17: money off of my job and attacking the community.
- 38:23Speaker 5: I'm not attacking you, guys, we're asking.
- 38:25Speaker 17: I'll tell you the reason why this is happening, all right,
- 38:27Speaker 17: let me tell you the reason why you're attacking why.
- 38:29Speaker 5: Correct, This has nothing to do with race.
- 38:32Speaker 17: This is fraud, and this is absolutely has to do
- 38:34Speaker 17: with us being muslim No, it does not, all right,
- 38:37Speaker 17: and us being from Africa.
- 38:39Speaker 5: This is a constitutional argument.
- 38:42Speaker 4: And when you come back, put it up a little
- 38:44Speaker 4: bit just I want to make sure everybody hears this.
- 38:46Speaker 4: He says, this has everything to do with us being
- 38:49Speaker 4: Muslims and us being from Africa. That's the only reason
- 38:53Speaker 4: this guy's reporting on this. Nothing to do with alleged fraud.
- 38:56Speaker 5: Go ahead, yeah, change the freedom of religion.
- 39:00Speaker 17: Say listen, you don't want Muslims in this country anymore? No, no, no, no,
- 39:05Speaker 17: because when when I go into your comments, when I
- 39:07Speaker 17: when I go into your comments, what I see is
- 39:10Speaker 17: people that say we do not want Muslims here. Kick
- 39:13Speaker 17: every single Muslim in Minnesota out of Minnesota. You are, listen,
- 39:18Speaker 17: you preparing, You're preparing for the Somali community to me
- 39:21Speaker 17: to maybe be taken to concentration camps. Just a big
- 39:24Speaker 17: Japanese community, all right, you're sensationalizing.
- 39:27Speaker 5: We're not something that we're asking about. You know, you
- 39:30Speaker 5: are what you're doing fraud. You hate Muslims.
- 39:33Speaker 9: I'm not saying you hate you.
- 39:34Speaker 5: Know you hate Muslims. Why are you taking us?
- 39:37Speaker 16: Are really the only community that.
- 39:38Speaker 17: Suffers because of fraud? We're talking about really the only
- 39:41Speaker 17: community that there's a fraud.
- 39:44Speaker 5: Fraud?
- 39:45Speaker 17: We have what a thousand providers? Yeah, even even as
- 39:49Speaker 17: two thousand provider, do you want to sacrifice the safety
- 39:52Speaker 17: of eighty thousand people because of two thousand?
- 39:56Speaker 4: That's a little out of hand there, And uh, he's
- 39:59Speaker 4: very very Are you upset this is all because he
- 40:02Speaker 4: Nick Shirley hates Muslims. Now, I have not seen one
- 40:06Speaker 4: video yet in that series where they even talk about
- 40:10Speaker 4: about anything having to do with the Muslim faith. They
- 40:14Speaker 4: literally only talk about Why does it say ABC Learning
- 40:18Speaker 4: Center and you forgot to put the N in there?
- 40:20Speaker 4: It says leering center. Why is it that when I
- 40:23Speaker 4: knock on the door too in the afternoon, nobody's here?
- 40:26Speaker 4: Why is it that you say you have sixty six
- 40:28Speaker 4: kids enrolled, but we've been outside park for an hour
- 40:31Speaker 4: and not a single kid or parent has come in
- 40:33Speaker 4: and out.
- 40:33Speaker 5: Of here, Can you let us in, can we see
- 40:35Speaker 5: the kids?
- 40:36Speaker 4: What's going on? And this is time and again, place
- 40:39Speaker 4: after place after place. Yet this guy wants to come out,
- 40:43Speaker 4: and he comes off, you know, initially as if he
- 40:47Speaker 4: wants to have a conversation, as if he wants to,
- 40:49Speaker 4: you know, really have a debate about this, a real
- 40:52Speaker 4: back and forth, a respectful conversation, which quickly changes to
- 40:56Speaker 4: him you drop in the F bomb and this and
- 40:58Speaker 4: that and yelling and yelling. He went there to fight,
- 41:02Speaker 4: he went there to call him an islamophobe, and he
- 41:04Speaker 4: did not have any interest in a discussion. That's the
- 41:07Speaker 4: bottom line.
- 41:08Speaker 5: Listen.
- 41:08Speaker 4: I have my views and my beliefs, and they're likely
- 41:11Speaker 4: not going to be changed by anybody I debate with.
- 41:14Speaker 4: But I am willing to listen to what people have
- 41:16Speaker 4: to say, which is why I always invite people to
- 41:17Speaker 4: call the show like I'm going to do right now.
- 41:19Speaker 4: What do you think about this Nick Shirley video and
- 41:23Speaker 4: this attack on him calling him an islamophobe? Is Nick
- 41:26Speaker 4: Shirley an islamophobe? Give me a call. I want to
- 41:28Speaker 4: talk to you on the phone. I mean, you pick
- 41:30Speaker 4: it up on your dial. I am Rich VALDEZI this
- 41:34Speaker 4: is America.
- 41:37Speaker 12: The forty fifth President Donald Trump thinks it's an honor
- 41:40Speaker 12: to speak with Rich Valdez.
- 41:42Speaker 16: Oh, very good.
- 41:47Speaker 5: The honor is all yours. Conservative talk with a dash
- 41:52Speaker 5: of sofrito. Now here's Rich Valdez, all right, and he goes,
- 41:57Speaker 5: welcome back.
- 41:58Speaker 4: And we were just talking about how you are in
- 42:00Speaker 4: islamophobe if you disagree with what's going on in Minnesota.
- 42:04Speaker 4: There seems to be a lot of talk about Muslims,
- 42:06Speaker 4: not the least of which is my arch nemesis, all
- 42:10Speaker 4: out crazy AOC Alexandria Cacio Cortez. Who a little while ago,
- 42:14Speaker 4: I played this clip, but I want you to hear,
- 42:16Speaker 4: just in case you forgot what it sounded like. Who
- 42:18Speaker 4: is so happy about New York City's first Muslim mayor?
- 42:21Speaker 5: Check this out, zo.
- 42:25Speaker 18: Ron, Mom, Donnie will be the first Muslim mayor of
- 42:28Speaker 18: our great city. He will be our first immigrant mayor
- 42:34Speaker 18: in over a century, and he will be the youngest
- 42:40Speaker 18: mayor of New York City in generations. But most importantly,
- 42:47Speaker 18: Zovron will be a mayor for all of us.
- 42:52Speaker 6: With them.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Now, let me tell you if I lived in New
- 42:54Speaker 4: York City, I would not feel like he was the
- 42:56Speaker 4: mayor for me after hearing how he talked, doing his
- 42:59Speaker 4: oath on the Quran, which is his right, and having
- 43:02Speaker 4: Bernie Sanders of all people administer this. I mean, it
- 43:06Speaker 4: doesn't get more kookie and crazy than that. Right, Do
- 43:09Speaker 4: you solemnly swear to uphold the Constitution which we don't
- 43:13Speaker 4: believe in, Zoran, we don't believe it.
- 43:15Speaker 5: Band send us anyway?
- 43:17Speaker 4: Uh yeah, the whole thing is it's almost like SNL
- 43:20Speaker 4: the sad part. It's real now, Zara Mamdani pledging to
- 43:24Speaker 4: be the absolute best Democrat socialist ever.
- 43:28Speaker 5: Listen to this.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Here is what I want you to expect from the
- 43:31Speaker 2: administration that this morning moved into the building behind me.
- 43:37Speaker 2: We will transform the culture of City Hall from one
- 43:40Speaker 2: of no to one of how. We will answer to
- 43:45Speaker 2: all New Yorkers, not to any billionaire or oligarch who
- 43:48Speaker 2: thinks they can buy our democracy. We will govern without
- 43:54Speaker 2: shame and insecurity, making no apology for what we believe.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Was elected as a democratic socialist and I will govern
- 44:02Speaker 2: as a democratic socialist.
- 44:06Speaker 5: Unbelievable.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Well, anyway, that's Zoron Mamdani, Mayor. Zoron Mamdani, the one
- 44:12Speaker 4: hundred eleventh mayor of the City of New York. And
- 44:14Speaker 4: as the saying goes, not all heroes wear capes. And
- 44:18Speaker 4: it was a hero that took on Zoron Mamdani, the
- 44:21Speaker 4: Guardian Angel of New York himself wo donning his red beret.
- 44:25Speaker 4: Curtis Sliwa, who is the founder of the Guardian Angels.
- 44:28Speaker 4: They've been doing this almost as long as I've been alive.
- 44:31Speaker 4: And he threw his red beret in the ring to
- 44:34Speaker 4: take on Zoron Mamdani.
- 44:36Speaker 5: And let me tell you.
- 44:38Speaker 4: The forces of absolutely everything, the masters of the universes,
- 44:42Speaker 4: he says, came out against him, against the will of
- 44:46Speaker 4: the people, in my opinion, and he gave a valiant
- 44:50Speaker 4: effort nonetheless, And Curtis Sliva joins us.
- 44:52Speaker 5: Now live, Curtis.
- 44:53Speaker 16: Welcome, sir, oh Leberty loving Latino, rich bods.
- 44:58Speaker 5: Curtis.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Let's let's get into this, because I think that Zoron
- 45:01Speaker 4: is being the person he's always been right, He's always
- 45:05Speaker 4: been very open and honest about his Democrat socialism, his
- 45:09Speaker 4: affinity for Marxism. But I'm I'm even taking aback a
- 45:14Speaker 4: little bit on how.
- 45:16Speaker 5: Enthusiastic the crowd was.
- 45:18Speaker 4: It almost seemed like it was the Democrat Socialists of
- 45:22Speaker 4: America convention.
- 45:23Speaker 5: The crowd at his inauguration, they were so excited.
- 45:25Speaker 16: Gott I tell you, they were wearing the merch. As
- 45:28Speaker 16: you know, you've seen a lot of maga merch on
- 45:30Speaker 16: behalf of Donald Trump, the president man. Welcome to the
- 45:34Speaker 16: age of zoron Mondami merch. And it's a generational change.
- 45:40Speaker 16: I don't often agree with, as you pointed out AOC
- 45:43Speaker 16: all out crazy Alexandrio Cassio Cortez, but she said it
- 45:47Speaker 16: months ago. This is a generational change. They were exuberant,
- 45:51Speaker 16: they were excited. He said, I was elected as a
- 45:55Speaker 16: Democrat socialist, and I will govern as a Democrat socialist.
- 45:59Speaker 16: He didn't lie. He said that every step of the
- 46:01Speaker 16: way taxed the rich. That's what he wanted to do.
- 46:04Speaker 16: He doesn't believe in billionaires. And New York City elected him.
- 46:09Speaker 16: He won the primary against Andrew Cuomo, who thought he
- 46:14Speaker 16: was going to have a coronation, whipped him in the
- 46:16Speaker 16: primary and then went on to win the general election.
- 46:20Speaker 16: And I gotta tell you, it was November twenty first,
- 46:25Speaker 16: well after election night, November fourth, and I knew I
- 46:28Speaker 16: had lost. I'm looking at the President of the United
- 46:32Speaker 16: States Donald Trump in the White House, and there was
- 46:35Speaker 16: like a look at the White House between him as
- 46:37Speaker 16: Johan Mandamia. I thought it was Barney talk you love me,
- 46:42Speaker 16: I love you, Ruppins. What was that, Rich Valdez.
- 46:47Speaker 4: I think that was the president using the art of
- 46:49Speaker 4: the deal, making sure that he keeps his friends close
- 46:53Speaker 4: and his enemies closer.
- 46:55Speaker 16: Well, I could accept that out of the Godfather, but
- 47:00Speaker 16: as you know, the target of every individual out there
- 47:05Speaker 16: who decided they want to be an influencer, an independent,
- 47:09Speaker 16: you know, inside a millionaire, billionaire, as they targeted me,
- 47:15Speaker 16: the only Republican in the race, and they went with
- 47:18Speaker 16: Andrew evilised Cuomo. Now, if Republicans are going to cross
- 47:21Speaker 16: the line, it's a very simple, rich child Dez. If
- 47:24Speaker 16: you cross the line for a Democrat, what are you
- 47:28Speaker 16: going to get? More Democrats, more democratic socialism, and more
- 47:34Speaker 16: programs that are going to wreak havoc across America. So
- 47:38Speaker 16: let this be a lesson. I was the Republican Kennedy,
- 47:41Speaker 16: I was the law and order Kennedy. And even the
- 47:44Speaker 16: President of the United States, Ellen Mosk, Steve Miller, others, billionaires,
- 47:50Speaker 16: actmen and the rest were tweeting out, a vote for
- 47:54Speaker 16: Slee is a vote for Mondamie, vote for Cuombo, please
- 47:57Speaker 16: Rich Voudez, Let's make sure Republican and so never make
- 48:00Speaker 16: that mistake again.
- 48:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and that turned out to be inaccurate, right largely
- 48:05Speaker 4: when you look at the numbers.
- 48:06Speaker 5: If you add both you and Andrew.
- 48:08Speaker 4: Cuomo and Eric Adams, who got a handful of writing votes,
- 48:12Speaker 4: if you add all three of you together, you weren't
- 48:14Speaker 4: going to take on the Mamdani vote.
- 48:17Speaker 5: No.
- 48:17Speaker 16: And again, they worked hard, the Democratic Socialists. They go
- 48:23Speaker 16: out and do good old fashion retail politics, door to
- 48:26Speaker 16: door campaigning. It wasn't just TikTok. I mean, oh TikTok.
- 48:30Speaker 16: You know, I had to have a few belly lass
- 48:33Speaker 16: people coming up to me. Oh, you should be better
- 48:35Speaker 16: in TikTok, I said two years ago, it was a
- 48:38Speaker 16: red Chinese plot to take over America. You've never even
- 48:41Speaker 16: seen TikTok. The only TikTok you know is when the
- 48:45Speaker 16: clock goes, TikTok. TikTok said, you have no idea. TikTok
- 48:49Speaker 16: didn't win the election. Good old fashion retail politics, going
- 48:53Speaker 16: door to door. They worked hard, and then they party
- 48:55Speaker 16: to the break of dawn because their millennials, their gen
- 48:58Speaker 16: z Is, whereas the traditional supporters of the moderate Democrats
- 49:02Speaker 16: and the Republicans, they go out, they campaign one day,
- 49:05Speaker 16: Rich and then they got to take a ben gay
- 49:08Speaker 16: bat and drink jerretol. It's take seventy two hours to
- 49:11Speaker 16: recover before you see them again. That's the difference.
- 49:16Speaker 5: That's one hundred percent true, folks.
- 49:18Speaker 4: We're on with Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angel
- 49:22Speaker 4: Safety Patrol Group out of New York City radio talk
- 49:25Speaker 4: show host Extraordinariy and Curtis Sleeper and a mentor of mine.
- 49:29Speaker 4: Good Man, let me ask you this now, Curtis, because
- 49:32Speaker 4: a lot of people are wondering, do you put on
- 49:34Speaker 4: the cape again? Do you do? You tag me?
- 49:38Speaker 5: You're it? Are you going in again to take on
- 49:41Speaker 5: zoron Mamdani?
- 49:43Speaker 16: Well, look, a lot of people would like to see
- 49:46Speaker 16: me run again. I got a tremendous response from a
- 49:49Speaker 16: lot of millennials and gen z Ers, as you know,
- 49:52Speaker 16: Rich Valdez, which is traditionally what Republicans don't get. Let's see,
- 49:56Speaker 16: I take life day to day. As you know, there
- 49:58Speaker 16: have been many attempts to sort of eliminate me from
- 50:01Speaker 16: this world, starting with John Gotty Senior to John Gotty
- 50:04Speaker 16: Junior and the Agambo crime family shot five times with
- 50:07Speaker 16: hollow point bullets in the back of a cab when
- 50:10Speaker 16: I was going to WABC to do the morning show
- 50:12Speaker 16: back on June nineteenth to nineteen ninety two. So I
- 50:15Speaker 16: got a lot of enemies out there. I am the
- 50:18Speaker 16: guardian angels both here and around the world animal welfare,
- 50:24Speaker 16: as you know, the President was making fun of me
- 50:26Speaker 16: and my wife Nancy, because we go out and rescue
- 50:29Speaker 16: cats were scheduled to be euthanized in shelters and then
- 50:34Speaker 16: get them back into good shape, get them their shots,
- 50:37Speaker 16: and get them stayed and uted, and then adopt them
- 50:39Speaker 16: out and force for them out like a lot of
- 50:41Speaker 16: your listeners. Do you know, as Gandhi said, is society
- 50:44Speaker 16: that does not take care of its animals does not
- 50:47Speaker 16: take care of its people. And just look in the
- 50:49Speaker 16: streets of Philly, whether in New York, whether you go
- 50:52Speaker 16: down to Baltimore, Washington, DC. Look at all the homeless,
- 50:55Speaker 16: look at all the emotionally disturbed, and we're not caring
- 50:58Speaker 16: for them, and we don't care for an There's so
- 51:00Speaker 16: much animal abuse. So I think on our part of
- 51:03Speaker 16: the Ledger, I think Republicans have to get across to
- 51:06Speaker 16: this new generation of millennials and Gen Zs that no,
- 51:10Speaker 16: we are the party also of compassion, consideration, and concern,
- 51:15Speaker 16: and if we can do more of that, we'll get
- 51:17Speaker 16: more of them. But if we don't, we're going to
- 51:20Speaker 16: be subject to losing elections because you know, Rich Valdas,
- 51:23Speaker 16: I hate to tell my fellow baby boomers say, ah,
- 51:25Speaker 16: I hearing this. We are no longer the majority of
- 51:28Speaker 16: the population. We are no longer the majority of the voters.
- 51:31Speaker 16: The millennials and Gen Zas are in charge. And if
- 51:34Speaker 16: we just turn a blind eye to them, call them lazy.
- 51:39Speaker 16: They don't know what they're doing. All they do is
- 51:41Speaker 16: they're on their cell phones and smartphones. We're gonna drive
- 51:44Speaker 16: them away. And the Democratic Socialists of America, Bernie the Out,
- 51:48Speaker 16: the Cocas, Sanders AOC and now zar On Mondami, you'd
- 51:52Speaker 16: be more than happy to welcome them into their tribe.
- 51:56Speaker 5: You know, Curtis lu You're exactly right.
- 51:58Speaker 4: Matter of fact, That's what I'm talking about in the
- 52:00Speaker 4: fourth hour of the show, is how that group has
- 52:03Speaker 4: embraced this idea that if you have conflict with a
- 52:06Speaker 4: family member, you just cut them off entirely. There's no
- 52:08Speaker 4: let's talk it out. We just cut people off, including parents.
- 52:11Speaker 4: And they've got families that haven't talked to some of
- 52:13Speaker 4: their kids in three four years. It's really it's shocking stuff.
- 52:17Speaker 4: But you're right, that is what this breeds. It breeds
- 52:20Speaker 4: this this type of divide. And I guess my question
- 52:24Speaker 4: to you is do you think that we are going
- 52:26Speaker 4: to continue down this road? Is this the beginning of
- 52:30Speaker 4: the socialization of America?
- 52:32Speaker 16: Now we go from one extreme to another extreme. That's
- 52:36Speaker 16: the lessons you learned from the history of America. Look,
- 52:39Speaker 16: long before you were burst into this world, rich Valdas,
- 52:42Speaker 16: I was a child of the sixties. It was the counterculture.
- 52:46Speaker 16: We were told don't trust anybody over at thirty. They
- 52:49Speaker 16: told us, look, don't grow your hair long.
- 52:51Speaker 12: We did.
- 52:52Speaker 16: Don't smoke the rag weed because it was rag weed dead.
- 52:55Speaker 16: We did, don't go to concert we did, don't go
- 52:58Speaker 16: to anti war rallies. We did. My first vote was
- 53:01Speaker 16: for George McGovern the Democrat, the peace Snake, against Richard
- 53:04Speaker 16: Nixon in nineteen seventy two. It was the counter culture
- 53:09Speaker 16: and you're going through that all over again in twenty
- 53:12Speaker 16: twenty five. I think for a lot of parents and
- 53:14Speaker 16: grandparents they have to desert a lot of tough love
- 53:18Speaker 16: years because they cater a little too much to their
- 53:21Speaker 16: children and grandchildren give them a little too much, and
- 53:25Speaker 16: then when they try to hold them accountable for their actions,
- 53:29Speaker 16: a lot of times they're not willing to deal with
- 53:31Speaker 16: them with tough love. And I'm not talking about beating
- 53:33Speaker 16: them up and hitting them, not talking about, Hey, you
- 53:37Speaker 16: better understand what you're backing if you're backing socialism, because
- 53:41Speaker 16: that's what Zaramandami is. He's not a communi this he's
- 53:43Speaker 16: a socialist. Listen to what he calls himself. He is
- 53:46Speaker 16: what he is. It's an entirely different philosophy than's been
- 53:50Speaker 16: the basis of America. But we also have to be
- 53:54Speaker 16: honest that out of socialism came a lot of things
- 53:58Speaker 16: that we take for granted. Forty hour work week, social security,
- 54:04Speaker 16: unemployment benefits, we can go on and on. So there's
- 54:10Speaker 16: been something good and there's been some bad. So don't
- 54:12Speaker 16: throw the baby out with the bath water. We just
- 54:15Speaker 16: have to go out. We have to battle them for
- 54:18Speaker 16: the votes in the streets, and we have to try
- 54:21Speaker 16: to recruit the new generation of millennials and Gen Zas
- 54:24Speaker 16: who are the majority no longer the minority.
- 54:28Speaker 4: Wise words from Curtis Sliwer. Now, Curtis Leeve, I know
- 54:31Speaker 4: that you were just on seven to ten WR doing
- 54:34Speaker 4: a great little stint there and you sounded terrific. By
- 54:37Speaker 4: the way, if people want to learn more about you
- 54:40Speaker 4: and see if they can maybe you know, back you
- 54:42Speaker 4: up for future projects, where do they go?
- 54:44Speaker 5: How do they find you?
- 54:46Speaker 16: Everything at Curtis Sliwa, whether it's Facebook, Twitter, whether it's TikTok, Yeah,
- 54:53Speaker 16: I'm on TikTok too, whether it's Instagram, everything at kurt Sliwa,
- 54:57Speaker 16: Rich Valdez, and understand this. I'm expecting you, Rich Valdez,
- 55:03Speaker 16: liberty loving Latino to get out there and do a
- 55:06Speaker 16: lot of outreach to Latino community because they are moving
- 55:10Speaker 16: away from supporting the Republican agenda. The polls, if you
- 55:13Speaker 16: believe the polls are starting and going into these midterm elections,
- 55:19Speaker 16: the biggest loss that we've had is on the Latino
- 55:23Speaker 16: side of the Ledger because we take them for granted.
- 55:26Speaker 16: In many of the cities, including Philadelphia, the growing minority
- 55:31Speaker 16: will soon be the majority, and we can't just go
- 55:34Speaker 16: up to them, you know, a few days before election
- 55:36Speaker 16: day and expect them to vote for us no, or
- 55:39Speaker 16: vote for our agenda, or vote for our platform. We
- 55:42Speaker 16: got to be out there every day letting them know
- 55:46Speaker 16: that their culture, their way of life, their belief system
- 55:50Speaker 16: is what is exemplified in our Republican platform. And we
- 55:54Speaker 16: haven't been doing a very good job of late. In fact,
- 55:57Speaker 16: we almost stopped doing it after the election of Donald
- 56:00Speaker 16: Trump back into the presidency against Harris Well.
- 56:03Speaker 4: You know, Curtis, I think a lot of that has
- 56:05Speaker 4: to do with people buying the propaganda, right, and not
- 56:10Speaker 4: all of it is propaganda. It's clear that the tough
- 56:14Speaker 4: immigration enforcement is unsettling for some people, that's clear. But
- 56:19Speaker 4: it gets worse when there are these YouTube and TikTok
- 56:23Speaker 4: accounts that are out there showing videos of apparent videos
- 56:27Speaker 4: of ICE officers kidnapping children. A friend of mine that
- 56:30Speaker 4: I went to high school yesterday with years ago. Yesterday
- 56:34Speaker 4: I saw a post that he put and it is
- 56:36Speaker 4: a simple post, black and white, and it's a GP
- 56:39Speaker 4: and the O was the face of a child with
- 56:43Speaker 4: an adult hand over its mouth as if it was
- 56:45Speaker 4: getting snatched. And this is the belief of many people
- 56:49Speaker 4: that Republicans and that ICE is somehow snatching kids off
- 56:52Speaker 4: the street.
- 56:53Speaker 5: Now this is not true.
- 56:54Speaker 4: This is fake, phony, fraud, but it's what people are
- 56:58Speaker 4: starting to believe. So I would say that I feel
- 57:00Speaker 4: like we're losing the PR war on that front, and
- 57:03Speaker 4: that's part of why people are, you know, less enthusiastic
- 57:08Speaker 4: about the conservative policies. But I think we're going to
- 57:11Speaker 4: see a change in that as as they've DHS has
- 57:16Speaker 4: made some adjustments in policy an article and said that
- 57:20Speaker 4: they're going to, you know, ease up on some of
- 57:22Speaker 4: the enforcement tactics. I don't know if that's true or not,
- 57:25Speaker 4: but it might have been just good PR. But I
- 57:27Speaker 4: think that's what we need right now, is some good
- 57:28Speaker 4: PR to counter some of the fake AI stuff that's
- 57:31Speaker 4: out there.
- 57:33Speaker 16: Rich When you impose quotas as Steve Miller did in
- 57:36Speaker 16: the White House, three thousand arrests to day, the ICE
- 57:39Speaker 16: agents will tell you that's too much pressure we should
- 57:44Speaker 16: be going after as they were initially when they were
- 57:46Speaker 16: revived with the election of President Donald Trump. The bad
- 57:49Speaker 16: ombrace the drug deal is the gang bangers, the Narco terrorists,
- 57:53Speaker 16: the sex traffickers. Everybody was applauding DHS and lamigre and
- 57:59Speaker 16: then all of a sudden, Stephen Miller imposed this quota.
- 58:03Speaker 16: Now you have Ice agents saying, well, to make our quota,
- 58:06Speaker 16: we got to go to the home depot in the morning,
- 58:08Speaker 16: pick up people who are there for day labor, go
- 58:11Speaker 16: to the backs of restaurants, and magic. How you gonna
- 58:13Speaker 16: run some of these restaurants without these migrants. It's impossible.
- 58:17Speaker 16: I have three sons, but it's none of my three
- 58:19Speaker 16: sons are going to be doing that kind of work.
- 58:21Speaker 16: They're not going to be in the fields picking the crops.
- 58:24Speaker 16: They're not going to be in the packing houses. They're
- 58:26Speaker 16: not going to be in the slaughter houses. Some Americans
- 58:28Speaker 16: will work their jobs, most won't. So we have to
- 58:31Speaker 16: accommodate that, because if we can't meet the growing demands
- 58:36Speaker 16: of the American population, our own population will refuse to
- 58:40Speaker 16: do some of that work. We've got to figure out
- 58:42Speaker 16: a way. But these people can stay, and whether it's
- 58:46Speaker 16: to stay for a brief period of time, acquire some
- 58:49Speaker 16: wealth and then go back to their country of origin,
- 58:51Speaker 16: but not always have to look over their shoulders to
- 58:54Speaker 16: see if ice is there to round them up and
- 58:57Speaker 16: deport them. It's got to be a balance to this.
- 59:00Speaker 16: And if it's not, I'm telling you I can feel
- 59:02Speaker 16: it right now in a lot of the neighborhoods that
- 59:04Speaker 16: swung for Trump in twenty twenty five, heavily Latino, that's
- 59:09Speaker 16: beginning to wane because people are beginning to say, oh,
- 59:12Speaker 16: we being targeted. Now you know that's not true, and
- 59:14Speaker 16: I know that's not true, right, That's what happens when
- 59:18Speaker 16: you impose quotas.
- 59:20Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I don't think these quotas are going to maintain.
- 59:23Speaker 4: I think that was something that you just saw an
- 59:25Speaker 4: uptick in the final quarter of last year to kind of,
- 59:27Speaker 4: you know, get what's out there.
- 59:29Speaker 5: But yeah, I agree with you.
- 59:30Speaker 4: If the pressure is there and you start to run
- 59:33Speaker 4: out of these criminal felons, then yeah, you're gonna go
- 59:36Speaker 4: to the next one.
- 59:37Speaker 16: See it is much you know, I've been a center
- 59:39Speaker 16: city many times in Philly. If you keep deporting people
- 59:44Speaker 16: that work in these in these industries, these service industries,
- 59:49Speaker 16: we'll have to go back into the kitchen make our
- 59:52Speaker 16: own food. And I have a black belt from Betty Crocker.
- 59:55Speaker 16: I can cook to kill. We'll have to serve it
- 59:57Speaker 16: to ourselves. We'll have to eat it, and then we'll
- 59:59Speaker 16: have to go back wash the dishes. And I don't
- 1:00:01Speaker 16: think any of of us in America are prepared to
- 1:00:05Speaker 16: do that.
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: Rich Yeah, well, I also don't think that every last
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: dishwasher and cook is the one are the ones getting arrested.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: That's part of what I was saying about this propaganda push.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: I think that you know, listen, Curtis, I make a
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: joke on the show, and I'm running out of time,
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: but I want to share this, and I open up
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: the segment, I say it's Rich Veld does that I'm safe.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: I'm marketing myself safe from getting deported today because of
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: the amount of stories I hear about American citizens or
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: Puerto Ricans being deported because it's just not real.
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: And I think that's the same case.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: Now, there might be some of these instances where what
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: you know, what you're describing happens, but by and large
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: that's that's not the majority of what's happening.
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: But I think the media and popular.
- 1:00:46Speaker 16: Cultures take about that, you and I and everybody who
- 1:00:49Speaker 16: do what we do and talk radio and everywhere else.
- 1:00:52Speaker 16: It's artificial intelligence. They're gonna wipe us out, but don't
- 1:00:56Speaker 16: worry on. Musk is gonna give us a universe, so
- 1:00:59Speaker 16: basic come, we won't have to work. We're gonna expect
- 1:01:02Speaker 16: him to deliver to us. Oofa, Rich Oofa.
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: I don't like it.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: Curtis Sliwa I'm gonna wrap here because we're almost done
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: with the segment. Everybody goes to Curtis Sliwa at Curtisliwa
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: on on X and curtisliwa dot com for everything else
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: and Curtis Leeva any final parting word.

- 1:01:25Speaker 16: love you. Curtis. Put on those three pairs of long
- 1:01:29Speaker 16: winter underwear.
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll put on my uh my long John's with
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: my wife, Peter, Curtis Leewa, everybody, thank you, sir.
- 1:01:36Speaker 16: You got it Rich all right.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: Let me know your.
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: Thoughts eight seven seven Valides one eight seven seven Valdez one.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: Of course, you can check out everything that's going on
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: with the show at Rich Valdez dot com. We're gonna
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: wrap it up. You gotta stand for something. If you
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. And the
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: people like you to sit there and do nothing. So
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: stand up and do something. The time has come. I'll
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: start up Foxy Might take care. Good night, and God
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: bless you America. I'm Rich fald Ass, and this is America.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: This is America.
