- 1:00Speaker 2: My graduates from my school being forced back drop Mike
- 1:06Speaker 2: drop back drop drop.
- 1:20Speaker 3: All right, guys, welcome back e y l legendary situation
- 1:24Speaker 3: right here.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 1:25Speaker 3: First of a number of reasons, yeah, many of reasons.
- 1:28Speaker 3: That's a fact. First and foremost, we want to thank
- 1:31Speaker 3: you guys for your ongoing support. It's truly, truly humbling
- 1:34Speaker 3: and we never never ever take it for granted. So,
- 1:37Speaker 3: you know, one of the things the dope part about
- 1:39Speaker 3: Earn a Lisia is that if you've been rocking with
- 1:41Speaker 3: us from day one, or even if you just came aboard,
- 1:44Speaker 3: you get to see our growth because we're actually you know,
- 1:47Speaker 3: this is actually happening in real time for us. So
- 1:49Speaker 3: people saw, you know, how we started in Troy's dining room,
- 1:53Speaker 3: and they saw the progression in us, you know, having
- 1:56Speaker 3: a studio and then going to Atlanta having a studio
- 1:59Speaker 3: out there, and then you know, getting a trucking company,
- 2:02Speaker 3: and then they sort of growth as far as our YouTube,
- 2:04Speaker 3: they sort of growth as far as Eyo University, just exploding,
- 2:08Speaker 3: and it's just constantly like, you know, we're an entrepreneur
- 2:11Speaker 3: business podcast platform, but you know, we don't just highlight
- 2:17Speaker 3: other people like we actually show you the workings of
- 2:19Speaker 3: what we have going on as well. And that's the
- 2:22Speaker 3: whole point, right, It's like, you know, we're in it
- 2:24Speaker 3: to create jobs, create opportunities, and make a profit. We
- 2:29Speaker 3: never apologize about making money. That's the whole point. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 3: for sure, So you know, one of the things that
- 2:35Speaker 3: was day one and has grown and we've had trials
- 2:40Speaker 3: and tribulations, and something that is probably one of the
- 2:42Speaker 3: most common things for entrepreneurs, especially in our community, is merch.
- 2:47Speaker 4: But you know what I mean.
- 2:47Speaker 3: So it's merch and people they have witnessed our merch
- 2:51Speaker 3: journey and actually we put a post on a rail
- 2:55Speaker 3: that got a lot a lot of views, and people
- 2:57Speaker 3: was asking us about it, like, you know, can you
- 3:00Speaker 3: explain this and what's this machine you're using? And how
- 3:02Speaker 3: do you do this? And how'd y'all change that? And
- 3:04Speaker 3: how y'all do it yourself? Because we say, you know,
- 3:06Speaker 3: we cut out the minimun we're doing everything ourselves now.
- 3:08Speaker 3: So we figured, you know, instead of just kind of
- 3:12Speaker 3: making an ig post and you know, a clip explaining it.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I know a lot of people have the same question
- 3:18Speaker 3: and interested. It's like, you know, how do you get
- 3:20Speaker 3: started in the merch game? How do you grow the
- 3:22Speaker 3: merch game? There's a lot of moving parts. To us,
- 3:24Speaker 3: it's a little bit more even than I expected it
- 3:27Speaker 3: to be.
- 3:27Speaker 4: It's crazy because when we started, we had no idea
- 3:30Speaker 4: of all the intricacies, and now it's like, you know,
- 3:32Speaker 4: it's a whole machine. We got running man.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 3: So being that, you know, we just dropped our our
- 3:38Speaker 3: new merch collection, we figured it'd be fitting to have
- 3:41Speaker 3: an episode like that explaining our merch journey from the
- 3:45Speaker 3: beginning to where we are now, all the trial and fibulations,
- 3:48Speaker 3: all the mistakes, all the mistakes that we made that
- 3:51Speaker 3: cost us a lot of money, and you know, hopefully,
- 3:54Speaker 3: you know, you can actually learn from it and make
- 3:57Speaker 3: money and save yourself, uh time and energy by actually
- 4:03Speaker 3: learning from all mistakes. So we have a special guest
- 4:06Speaker 3: for this episode. Once again, if you've been following our journey,
- 4:11Speaker 3: probably heard Chico Bean shout at Chico Bean shouts being dash.
- 4:15Speaker 3: You've heard him referenced on a few different episodes before Mike,
- 4:19Speaker 3: So you know, you see an Lisia a lot of times,
- 4:22Speaker 3: mostly all the time you see me and Troy where
- 4:24Speaker 3: the we're the face of it in front of the camera.
- 4:27Speaker 3: But none of it will be possible without our third partner,
- 4:31Speaker 3: the guy behind the scenes. Mike might be Mike. Yes,
- 4:36Speaker 3: Chico Bean, So Mike, Mike does everything as far as
- 4:41Speaker 3: from you know, uh YouTube to the technical stuff Eyo University.
- 4:46Speaker 3: He's kind of the handyman of earning Lesia. He makes
- 4:49Speaker 3: the whole operation run on all of the things that.
- 4:54Speaker 4: You like, we're gonna say this, We're going this, yeah
- 4:58Speaker 4: for sure.
- 4:58Speaker 3: So one of the things things that he uh he
- 5:01Speaker 3: took the head and he's really been the forefront of
- 5:05Speaker 3: actually managing was the merch. So we figured, okay, if
- 5:10Speaker 3: we're gonna do a merch episode, we gotta include micing
- 5:13Speaker 3: it because he's the guy that actually has all the
- 5:15Speaker 3: information and you know, legendary situation because I don't think
- 5:20Speaker 3: anybody has really seen him too much. Uh So now
- 5:24Speaker 3: we're putting a guy behind the camera in front of
- 5:26Speaker 3: the camera, so hopefully he doesn't get too nervous. Take
- 5:30Speaker 3: it easy on him.
- 5:30Speaker 4: We're gonna be yeah, we'll go we'll go easy on So.
- 5:32Speaker 3: First and foremost, thank you for joining us.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Appreciate it, thank you for having me.
- 5:38Speaker 4: This is it's legendary, and this is the first time
- 5:41Speaker 4: that we're recording an episode as ernial Lesia, which makes
- 5:45Speaker 4: it really dope. Man, Like you said, they see us too,
- 5:47Speaker 4: but it's like this, this is this is a three
- 5:49Speaker 4: uh headed team that does this so child to you, man.
- 5:52Speaker 3: It's like it's like Destiny's Child reunited. All right, So
- 5:57Speaker 3: we're gonna we're gonna jump right into it. And this
- 5:59Speaker 3: is a free flowing conversation because all of us played
- 6:02Speaker 3: the part in the merch. But I think it's important
- 6:04Speaker 3: to start at the beginning level of why we even
- 6:06Speaker 3: thought merch was important. So this is something that all entrepreneurs,
- 6:10Speaker 3: no matter what business you're in. This is a great
- 6:13Speaker 3: thing about merch, right, is that from my standpoint, anybody
- 6:16Speaker 3: else can chime in. It's a great marketing tool. So
- 6:19Speaker 3: that was the first that's the first thought behind it.
- 6:22Speaker 3: It's like, all right, we're building our brand over a
- 6:23Speaker 3: year ago where we're new. We're building our brand. You know,
- 6:28Speaker 3: obviously we're on Instagram, we got the podcast popping, but
- 6:32Speaker 3: how do we reach more people? How do we grow
- 6:34Speaker 3: the tent even larger? So the number one thing, as
- 6:37Speaker 3: if you know, when Dame says shot out the Dame,
- 6:39Speaker 3: is that you know, people see me, I gotta wear something.
- 6:42Speaker 3: So instead of me promoting other people's brands and when
- 6:45Speaker 3: you know, uh, designer clothes and rapping about designer clothes,
- 6:49Speaker 3: I'm wearing my own stuff. So that's what we said, Like,
- 6:52Speaker 3: you know, they got to see us in front of
- 6:53Speaker 3: the camera, it's a visual thing. They see us with
- 6:56Speaker 3: clips on Instagram. Why not have something that we can
- 7:00Speaker 3: coin ourselves and put it out there and not only
- 7:04Speaker 3: will it help grow our brand, but it'll be it'll
- 7:07Speaker 3: be you know, something that people can champion and be
- 7:09Speaker 3: proud of as well. So we going back and forth
- 7:12Speaker 3: for a while, like you know, all right, what do
- 7:14Speaker 3: we do? What do we do? So, you know, just
- 7:18Speaker 3: kind of going back and forth. I'm like, all right, well,
- 7:19Speaker 3: we're a financial literacy platform, right, and what kind of
- 7:25Speaker 3: what's a cool slogan that can fit in? Because obviously
- 7:29Speaker 3: we can just make earn your leisure and we did
- 7:31Speaker 3: do that.
- 7:32Speaker 4: We started with the logo t.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Yeah, the logo tea those is extremely popular. We should
- 7:36Speaker 3: release that limited edition. But it was like, what's our slogan,
- 7:40Speaker 3: what's our thing that we can just you know, every
- 7:41Speaker 3: brand I feel like has a slogan. Nike has just
- 7:43Speaker 3: do it, you know what I'm saying, Like, it's like
- 7:46Speaker 3: you always got a slogan. So assets Overliabilities I came
- 7:51Speaker 3: up with that.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Now, we shouldn't jump straight to that yet because it
- 7:54Speaker 4: was like we had like a bunch of ideas. You
- 7:56Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, because ideas, the idea, a bunch
- 7:58Speaker 4: of them. But it was like, Yo, let's let's just
- 8:00Speaker 4: throw out a bunch of them. And that's something that
- 8:02Speaker 4: people need to learn to like just have a bunch
- 8:04Speaker 4: of ideas, a bunch of ideas, put them all out there,
- 8:06Speaker 4: and something that we had to learn and maybe as
- 8:08Speaker 4: you go on, scale back the ideas. But asterabilities that
- 8:11Speaker 4: that was like we were like, yeah, that we gotta
- 8:14Speaker 4: go with that. So you gotta tell the story how
- 8:15Speaker 4: you came up with that.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah, as the soil liabilities, it was like you said,
- 8:18Speaker 3: it was a lot of different things that he was
- 8:19Speaker 3: going back and forth with hustle for your last name.
- 8:22Speaker 3: That wasn't we didn't come up with that. But we
- 8:24Speaker 3: didn't come up with that. I'm not sure we had
- 8:27Speaker 3: a few.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Yeah, we had had the curators of culture. I remember
- 8:30Speaker 4: that joint. We had the credit rules everything around me.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Remember that that was actually a good one.
- 8:37Speaker 4: The stream joint was it we had a bunch of them,
- 8:41Speaker 4: you know, because it was just like, Yo, we knew
- 8:42Speaker 4: how important it is to that the what clothing can
- 8:46Speaker 4: do for a community, right, the first thing that people
- 8:48Speaker 4: see is what you have on. And so if they're
- 8:50Speaker 4: gonna look at what you have on, might well have
- 8:51Speaker 4: a message. So like even the Day one people, like
- 8:54Speaker 4: the first couple of episodes, we even have our own stuff,
- 8:57Speaker 4: like we were wearing other people stuff, and it was like, nah, bro,
- 8:59Speaker 4: like we got to stick to that that model of like, yo,
- 9:02Speaker 4: if they gonna see us, the might as well to
- 9:03Speaker 4: see us on our own thing.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Yeah. So when I came up with the idea of
- 9:06Speaker 3: assets over liabilities, it was like, to me, just a
- 9:10Speaker 3: no brainer where I'm like, all right, the most simplest
- 9:14Speaker 3: way to explain it in three words as far as
- 9:17Speaker 3: what we do is assets over liabilities, right, Like that's
- 9:21Speaker 3: easy to the point so that the wording came to
- 9:23Speaker 3: my brain like assover liabilities. Now it's like visually, how
- 9:27Speaker 3: does this look? Right? So I'm going back and forth
- 9:29Speaker 3: with Mike because Mike making the mock up, so I'm like, yo,
- 9:33Speaker 3: we should have assets over liabilities with the bar in
- 9:38Speaker 3: between over, like like on where over is. And he
- 9:43Speaker 3: didn't fully understand what I was saying. So his first
- 9:45Speaker 3: mock up was assets and then it was just over
- 9:48Speaker 3: and it was no bar. And I'm kind of like
- 9:51Speaker 3: trying to explain it to him, like, nah, I want
- 9:53Speaker 3: the bar, like you know what I'm saying, because I
- 9:56Speaker 3: feel like the reason why I did that. I feel
- 9:57Speaker 3: like even going back to math class, when you have
- 9:59Speaker 3: like the frack, like you always got like a line.
- 10:02Speaker 3: So I'm like, if we can have that line and
- 10:04Speaker 3: just have like, it makes over even stand out even
- 10:07Speaker 3: more like as opposed to just saying over. Now you
- 10:10Speaker 3: got the line. So it's assets over liabilities with the line,
- 10:14Speaker 3: it's like a it's like a play on the whole situation.
- 10:17Speaker 3: So he's like, finally we did it, and then we
- 10:20Speaker 3: got the font. The fonts extremely important. You want to talk.
- 10:23Speaker 6: About how you how you decide the font Normally I
- 10:25Speaker 6: go to a site called the font dot com or
- 10:28Speaker 6: Google fonts to get the fonts. And I remember I
- 10:31Speaker 6: sent you like about four or five fonts and you
- 10:33Speaker 6: you like the the glitchy font, the you know, the
- 10:37Speaker 6: rustic font that we have. You like that one and
- 10:39Speaker 6: we just played with that one. But if you go
- 10:40Speaker 6: to the font dot com, you can get you can
- 10:43Speaker 6: get a free fonce or Google fonts.
- 10:45Speaker 5: They got and they got thousands of thousands of fonts.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Yeah, the fonts is extremely important because even when we
- 10:49Speaker 3: was doing the logo for Earn Your Lisua and I
- 10:53Speaker 3: was playing around with that and I came up with
- 10:55Speaker 3: a Friday the thirteenth is the font that we use
- 10:58Speaker 3: for the Earn Leisure, right, I just found out on
- 11:01Speaker 3: the app. I just went to an app and it
- 11:03Speaker 3: was just playing around with different fonts and it was
- 11:04Speaker 3: like that, So the font that we use is extremely important.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I encourage people to so then so then it was like,
- 11:10Speaker 3: all right, how do what do we do? Like, what
- 11:13Speaker 3: do we do with it? Right? So it's like, all right,
- 11:15Speaker 3: we got the assets over liabilities, this is what we're
- 11:18Speaker 3: gonna go with. Then we decided, like the easiest thing
- 11:21Speaker 3: to do is put it on T shirts, put it
- 11:23Speaker 3: on T shirts and put it on sweaters. So you
- 11:26Speaker 3: want to talk about how we actually did that, Troy
- 11:29Speaker 3: and Mike.
- 11:29Speaker 6: So so basically, once we confirmed the logo, we had
- 11:33Speaker 6: to get you know, a mock up.
- 11:35Speaker 5: So I got I got a couple of a T.
- 11:36Speaker 6: Shirt I think a T shirt mock up, and hoe
- 11:38Speaker 6: a hoodie mack up because the hoodies was, you know,
- 11:41Speaker 6: it was big big at that time. It was around
- 11:42Speaker 6: January February something like that. So we had to get
- 11:45Speaker 6: the hoodie. So I gave you a mock up. And
- 11:47Speaker 6: after we got the mock up, we found the site
- 11:49Speaker 6: called printful dot com. Because we didn't know we didn't
- 11:53Speaker 6: know if we could sell merch, so we had to
- 11:55Speaker 6: see if it was going to go in printfl dot com.
- 11:57Speaker 6: They basically it's a drop ship service, so they allow
- 12:00Speaker 6: you to, uh, you send them the logo and whenever
- 12:04Speaker 6: you get an order, it goes straight to your site
- 12:06Speaker 6: to them. Yeah, they printed, they send it out and
- 12:08Speaker 6: they send you a profit. It's about profit. You don't
- 12:12Speaker 6: make as much profit, but you don't have to put
- 12:14Speaker 6: all that money up front for the inventory.
- 12:16Speaker 4: That's key. That's keys. Like so like print full was
- 12:18Speaker 4: so key because it was like, Yo, we didn't have
- 12:20Speaker 4: any money, Like I don't want to over like discount
- 12:23Speaker 4: that fact, Like we had no money to buy the
- 12:26Speaker 4: merge and then print it up. So it was like, look,
- 12:28Speaker 4: we don't have to buy the merch like print fill
- 12:30Speaker 4: will fulfill it for us. They have the manufacturer of
- 12:32Speaker 4: the fulfillment center and a distribution center. All we have
- 12:35Speaker 4: to do really is create the file. So every time,
- 12:37Speaker 4: like we came up with a logo, I know, like
- 12:39Speaker 4: we had and that was, like I said, we had
- 12:40Speaker 4: to scale back. We had so many different logo, different
- 12:43Speaker 4: sayings on shirts. It was like, all right, someone is
- 12:45Speaker 4: we don't even need you know what I'm saying. All
- 12:47Speaker 4: we have to do is just create the file for it.
- 12:49Speaker 4: And so once we put the file in, it was easy.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Like now it's like pick a piece of merch. It
- 12:54Speaker 4: could be a tank top. Remember we had told do.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Tank tops, you do t shirts, you could do everything,
- 12:59Speaker 6: mass anything, and it was it was it was an
- 13:01Speaker 6: inexpensive solution to get our merch up and get it up.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Fast, right, so it cost does nothing to actually do it.
- 13:07Speaker 4: But we gain profit, not as much as we could have,
- 13:10Speaker 4: and we learned that get down there. But it was
- 13:12Speaker 4: like what profit?
- 13:13Speaker 3: So yeah, So print fall is great for people that
- 13:16Speaker 3: don't have the money or may not have the confidence
- 13:18Speaker 3: because you don't know if your merger is going to sell.
- 13:20Speaker 3: And it was like Cat said about the books, like
- 13:22Speaker 3: you don't want to buy a hundred sweaters and then
- 13:24Speaker 3: just have it sitting in your basement forever. So print folk,
- 13:28Speaker 3: all you have to do is just give them the design,
- 13:30Speaker 3: right and then they put it on and then.
- 13:33Speaker 6: And you can make your own price as well, so
- 13:35Speaker 6: you you know, they tell you that it costs, say
- 13:37Speaker 6: fifteen dollars, right, that's just the number I'm thrown out there.
- 13:39Speaker 6: You can make it sixteen dollars, you can make it
- 13:41Speaker 6: twenty dollars. You can make your own price, so that's
- 13:43Speaker 6: also good too. And it tells you how much profit
- 13:45Speaker 6: you're going to make after you make your price, so
- 13:47Speaker 6: you know exactly how much you're making for sure.
- 13:49Speaker 3: So so how do we integrate that with the website
- 13:52Speaker 3: like actually putting it on the website.
- 13:53Speaker 6: So what's cool is with Shopify and that's the that's
- 13:56Speaker 6: how we are. Our site is built is built on
- 13:58Speaker 6: that Shopify on platform, which one of the best platforms
- 14:01Speaker 6: if you want to do any e commerce. And that's
- 14:04Speaker 6: about what thirty dollars a month. It starts for thirty
- 14:06Speaker 6: dollars a month to have that platform, and they do
- 14:08Speaker 6: the shipping, the shipping percentage, they do the analytics for you,
- 14:12Speaker 6: they do everything. So with Shopify, you you connect the
- 14:17Speaker 6: print fo app to the Shopify and it automatically sinks
- 14:19Speaker 6: with what your merch when you make on make on
- 14:21Speaker 6: print forle that's that fast.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Na, so you you're pretty much so all right, So shot,
- 14:26Speaker 3: Shopify is the payment processor.
- 14:29Speaker 6: No, Shopify is your Shopify is the is the uh
- 14:32Speaker 6: the platform. Let's say that's the platform, and your leisure
- 14:35Speaker 6: goes on that platform.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Okay, that's our store.
- 14:37Speaker 5: Yep, that's our store.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Okay.
- 14:39Speaker 6: Now, print fo is a third party app that talks
- 14:42Speaker 6: to Shopify. So every time someone comes to earn your
- 14:46Speaker 6: leisure and make a sale, Shopify sends that sale to
- 14:50Speaker 6: print fal and printfal makes the uderm send it out.
- 14:52Speaker 4: The manufacturer fulfiller distributed, gotcha okay yep.
- 14:55Speaker 3: So the payment process and runs through Shopify.
- 14:57Speaker 6: Right, the payment processes through a company called strike Stripe
- 15:01Speaker 6: and Shopify. So we have we accept credit card payments
- 15:03Speaker 6: to Shopify payments. So Shopify handles all the merchant, the
- 15:08Speaker 6: merchant merchant account, and then we also have PayPal, so
- 15:10Speaker 6: we use PayPal, we use the Shopify merchant.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Okay, and every time a sale comes through, when we
- 15:15Speaker 4: get an email about that.
- 15:16Speaker 5: We get an email saying you got you got I
- 15:19Speaker 5: know what, somebody. We've begetting a lot.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Of those lately, so so so so so yeah, so
- 15:24Speaker 3: we set that up and so now we got to
- 15:27Speaker 3: market it right. So as far as marketing, you know
- 15:30Speaker 3: what got us here and you know, our our game
- 15:34Speaker 3: plan from day one was social media, so you know
- 15:37Speaker 3: we was wearing it on social media and being at it.
- 15:40Speaker 3: It was something that that caught people's attention. Like when
- 15:42Speaker 3: people see the asset of a liabilities, they're like, what
- 15:44Speaker 3: is that? Like are you an accountant? Like what does
- 15:47Speaker 3: that mean? Like you know, I mean it's a conversation.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Start media conversations. People people see you in the airport
- 15:51Speaker 3: and they like stop you. And that's another thing too
- 15:54Speaker 3: from the tip from my standpoint as far as on
- 15:56Speaker 3: the marketing side, is that a lot of times we
- 15:58Speaker 3: have to be like try to put our brand out there,
- 16:01Speaker 3: Like if you have you know, X Y and z Burger,
- 16:04Speaker 3: you want to put x Y and z Burger. Like
- 16:06Speaker 3: we could have easily put earn your Leisure on every
- 16:08Speaker 3: single thing, but sometimes it's like you could put something
- 16:12Speaker 3: out there that's not directly related to who you are,
- 16:16Speaker 3: but it all comes back to you. For us, we've
- 16:19Speaker 3: become a lot of different things have come synonymous with us,
- 16:22Speaker 3: so E Y L, which is the initials even if
- 16:25Speaker 3: they don't know, they might not even heard of earn
- 16:27Speaker 3: your leisure, but they heard of e y L remember that.
- 16:29Speaker 4: But that's a conversation too though, that's and we should
- 16:32Speaker 4: talk about that. It was like Yo when we got EYL,
- 16:34Speaker 4: was like people know things in like three letters. We
- 16:37Speaker 4: were like, Yo y l y is a brand, Like
- 16:39Speaker 4: Yo EYL sounds pretty similar, Like that's wrong with that.
- 16:42Speaker 3: I mean, you know me, I get everything from from
- 16:44Speaker 3: rap music, so I've told the story before, but like
- 16:47Speaker 3: Wu Tang to me, like that was just so dope
- 16:49Speaker 3: how they did it. So it's like they have the
- 16:51Speaker 3: Wu Tang klan, but then they got wool killer Bees, right,
- 16:54Speaker 3: that was their logo. Then they got the W Like
- 16:57Speaker 3: that W was strong.
- 16:58Speaker 4: I mean, that's world renowned. If you see that W,
- 17:01Speaker 4: you think Wu Tang.
- 17:02Speaker 3: And then you got the Wu. So it's like it's
- 17:05Speaker 3: so many different things that you can like where it's
- 17:07Speaker 3: like even if you're not saying the Wu Tang clan,
- 17:10Speaker 3: you saying any of those different things, it all comes
- 17:13Speaker 3: back to Wu Tang. So for us it was the
- 17:15Speaker 3: same thing. It was like, I if we got a slogan,
- 17:17Speaker 3: so now our slogan became Aciso reliabilities EYL. Like you said,
- 17:21Speaker 3: that's like YSL or that's like something that's like a
- 17:24Speaker 3: you know, USC. When you think of a college, it's
- 17:26Speaker 3: like USC, LSU or any of those type of universities.
- 17:29Speaker 3: They always like N YU. They always have three Like
- 17:32Speaker 3: you don't say New York University, say n.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Yuh yeah US they're all three letters.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Yeah. So it's like E y L, which made it
- 17:41Speaker 3: perfect for Eyo University, which came later on down line.
- 17:44Speaker 3: And then just even our obblehead logo what you see
- 17:47Speaker 3: in the back right there, that's something that just came
- 17:49Speaker 3: about on a moji app. But now people see that's
- 17:52Speaker 3: a conversation starter, right It's like, oh yeah, what's this
- 17:56Speaker 3: And it's like, you know, so marketing for us was
- 17:59Speaker 3: real big. So as far as marketing the merch, we're
- 18:02Speaker 3: wearing it every single chance we get shot out to Spurgo,
- 18:04Speaker 3: that's something that he said, like brand consistency. Every time
- 18:07Speaker 3: you see us out, we're wearing it. We're wearing it
- 18:09Speaker 3: on our podcast, we're wearing it on YouTube, we're wearing
- 18:11Speaker 3: it in the Instagram, and then we're giving it away.
- 18:15Speaker 3: So all of the influences everybody that came on our show,
- 18:18Speaker 3: we're gifting it to them, so now they're wearing it
- 18:20Speaker 3: when they work out. They might put it in their
- 18:22Speaker 3: stories where we posted.
- 18:24Speaker 4: It freak yeah, and that's how you spread the brand.
- 18:26Speaker 4: And when we was giving it to the people who
- 18:28Speaker 4: came on, it was like yo, that was part of
- 18:29Speaker 4: like the graduation gift, Like yo, you did the episode
- 18:31Speaker 4: Welcome to Alumni, it's your shirt, so it was free.
- 18:35Speaker 4: It was free promotion.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Yeah, So it just started to It's just one of
- 18:38Speaker 3: these things that just started to spread like wildfire because
- 18:41Speaker 3: now people we had developed such a loyal base and
- 18:44Speaker 3: were given so much value that people was just looking
- 18:46Speaker 3: for ways to support us. That's another thing too, It's
- 18:49Speaker 3: like focus on the value because once you focus on
- 18:51Speaker 3: the value, then selling any product becomes a lot easier
- 18:55Speaker 3: because people, you know, they want to support things that
- 18:57Speaker 3: they believe in. Right, It's like nips see, like the
- 19:00Speaker 3: Proud to Pay campaign where it was like one hundred
- 19:02Speaker 3: dollars mixtape. Like sometimes people are just buying a mixtape
- 19:05Speaker 3: or they'll just buy a record just because they really
- 19:08Speaker 3: rock with the artist, Like you know what I'm saying.
- 19:10Speaker 3: They feel like they just got so much value from
- 19:12Speaker 3: that artist for so long that hey, let me just
- 19:15Speaker 3: buy this CD. I might not even never play it,
- 19:17Speaker 3: but let me chuse the fifteen dollars. That ain't gonna
- 19:19Speaker 3: kill me. Even in Nipsey's case, it was one hundred dollars.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Hundred dollars and a lot of people, a lot of
- 19:24Speaker 3: people bought, think a thousand people or something like that.
- 19:26Speaker 3: So that's how we just started to grow. And so
- 19:30Speaker 3: now it became really really big, right. It was like
- 19:34Speaker 3: assets over liability seeing.
- 19:35Speaker 4: Me like, oh you know them, Like like people would
- 19:39Speaker 4: walk out and you would be like you see people
- 19:42Speaker 4: with the shirt and it's like, yeah, that's crazy. They
- 19:43Speaker 4: walk right past you. They didn't have no idea, And
- 19:45Speaker 4: it was like, I remember when my brother called me.
- 19:48Speaker 4: He was like he was in school and somebody saw
- 19:50Speaker 4: the logo shirt and he was looking at it like, yo,
- 19:52Speaker 4: that's my brother you got on the shirt. It was
- 19:54Speaker 4: like unbelievable for him to see it. And they were like, yo,
- 19:56Speaker 4: you know them, and it's like, yeah, that's my brother. Man,
- 19:58Speaker 4: this is kind of trippy. He was like, yoah, I
- 20:00Speaker 4: got something. He was like, yo, ya gotta put those
- 20:02Speaker 4: logo shirts out, bro. The logo shirts are the ones
- 20:04Speaker 4: that's going to do it and at the same time
- 20:06Speaker 4: we were doing the assets who liabilities and people walking
- 20:08Speaker 4: around with that. It was like seeing it out there
- 20:10Speaker 4: was crazy because it was like, yo, that was just
- 20:11Speaker 4: an idea and now it's it's attacking the country in
- 20:14Speaker 4: the world.
- 20:15Speaker 6: It's definitely crazy. When you go out, it's like them
- 20:17Speaker 6: all or something. You see somebody else with the mercer
- 20:19Speaker 6: like damn.
- 20:20Speaker 3: So so let me ask you this, because all T
- 20:21Speaker 3: shirts aren't made the same. So how do we decide
- 20:25Speaker 3: which quality T shirt? Because like on the way on
- 20:28Speaker 3: the site they can you got different options of what
- 20:30Speaker 3: kind of shirts you want to use.
- 20:31Speaker 6: Right, so, uh, they do have a lot of different
- 20:34Speaker 6: different T shirt types of T shirts and material. Okay,
- 20:38Speaker 6: that was like we we we tested like five of
- 20:41Speaker 6: them and and you know one would shrink, one to
- 20:45Speaker 6: collar wood might be Mike Collo said one. You know,
- 20:49Speaker 6: so it was so many different things that was happening.
- 20:51Speaker 6: We was trying you know, uh, what is that? What
- 20:53Speaker 6: do they say, You're trying so many things into it
- 20:55Speaker 6: works or whatever. But we came we came across a
- 20:58Speaker 6: Netflix to NETFLI. We came across next Level, Next Level
- 21:03Speaker 6: thirty six hundred. So the next level thirty six hundred.
- 21:06Speaker 6: It didn't shrink, it looked really well, like well mate,
- 21:10Speaker 6: and the collar was good, and we just went with
- 21:13Speaker 6: that and you know, trial and error, that's what I
- 21:15Speaker 6: was trying to ford. So we did the in the
- 21:17Speaker 6: next level thirty six hundred. That's what we decided on.
- 21:20Speaker 4: And it's important too when when you're trying to find
- 21:23Speaker 4: the T shirt that's going to fit. Yes, you can
- 21:24Speaker 4: get some demos, but what's important too is the price point.
- 21:27Speaker 4: So like we chose that price point because it was like,
- 21:30Speaker 4: all right, that's affordable, right, Like when we look at
- 21:32Speaker 4: profit margins, it's just like, yo, are we going to
- 21:35Speaker 4: pay thirty dollars for a Champion T shirt to put
- 21:37Speaker 4: our logo on? Like if we're paying thirty dollars just
- 21:40Speaker 4: to get the shirt, we didn't even put the logo
- 21:42Speaker 4: a ship and it's like you know what, like now,
- 21:44Speaker 4: how much do you have to charge for a T
- 21:45Speaker 4: shirt to even make a profit. So it was like
- 21:47Speaker 4: it's important to find. So there was there's a couple right,
- 21:49Speaker 4: So next levels on we stuck on. But Giladan was one.
- 21:54Speaker 4: Champion was on like we said, next level, and American
- 21:56Speaker 4: Power was one. All our different price points, all different qualities,
- 21:59Speaker 4: so very important to test out get samples of each one.
- 22:02Speaker 4: If you can't go on that.
- 22:03Speaker 6: Route, definitely get each because because we may not we
- 22:06Speaker 6: may we may like next level, you may like guilding,
- 22:08Speaker 6: but it all depends. So so we selected to get
- 22:12Speaker 6: the next level. Thirty six hundred. People liked it, people
- 22:15Speaker 6: loved it, and we didn't have no complaints in and
- 22:18Speaker 6: that was that.
- 22:19Speaker 3: That so then we started to actually so now we're
- 22:22Speaker 3: selling mersh online. But then we had the idea to
- 22:25Speaker 3: actually start moving around the country and we we did.
- 22:28Speaker 3: We did a tour, so before we did any paid events,
- 22:32Speaker 3: we did free events. So the marketing for that, the
- 22:35Speaker 3: thought process for that was that, Okay, we're getting bigger
- 22:38Speaker 3: and bigger, and you know, we know we have listeners
- 22:42Speaker 3: all over the country and all over the world, but
- 22:44Speaker 3: it's hard to really gauge that, Like it's hard to
- 22:47Speaker 3: really gauge what's real and what's not just from your
- 22:50Speaker 3: cell phone. Like you know what I'm saying. The internet's
- 22:52Speaker 3: a weird place, like you don't you can't really tell
- 22:55Speaker 3: if you're like you trapped in your own bubble, like
- 22:57Speaker 3: we live in New York. So we was getting in
- 22:58Speaker 3: love in New York. But we knew we had a presence,
- 23:02Speaker 3: but we didn't know how strong the presence was. So
- 23:04Speaker 3: we're like, all right, the best way to kind of
- 23:06Speaker 3: test this out, test the market out is to go
- 23:08Speaker 3: to different cities and do networking events free networking events promoted.
- 23:14Speaker 3: We did that and then you know, just kind of
- 23:17Speaker 3: gauge how hot we are. So the first one we
- 23:20Speaker 3: did was LA, and then we did.
- 23:22Speaker 6: We gotta tell him when we decided to do that
- 23:24Speaker 6: that was big and where we did it in La?
- 23:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, So the first the first one we did
- 23:29Speaker 3: was in LA and that was the spur of the
- 23:31Speaker 3: moment shout out MG the mortgage. I actually got that
- 23:33Speaker 3: idea from Matt. I don't know if I ever told
- 23:35Speaker 3: him that. But we was in LA to interview Al
- 23:37Speaker 3: Harrington and do a few different other things. And this
- 23:39Speaker 3: was this was April twenty nineteen, and we was out there.
- 23:45Speaker 3: We had no plan to do an event anything, and
- 23:48Speaker 3: I saw Matt was in Atlanta and he did a
- 23:51Speaker 3: pop up networking event randomly, and I asked him. He's like, yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 3: I got like seventy people that signed up. It's going good.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Da da da da. So I'm like, yo, we should
- 23:58Speaker 3: just do a pop up random networking event in LA.
- 24:01Speaker 3: We're out here, why not just you know, try to
- 24:04Speaker 3: just see you know, people really rock with us like that.
- 24:06Speaker 3: So we put it on Instagram. Instagram is a great
- 24:08Speaker 3: tool up to find resources. We found a lot of
- 24:11Speaker 3: stuff on Instagram, so we put it on Instagram. I
- 24:13Speaker 3: think we put on the story like looking at do
- 24:15Speaker 3: an event in LA and this was like last minute,
- 24:19Speaker 3: Like we put it on Thursday, and we was trying
- 24:20Speaker 3: to do the event. We got there Monday, so somebody
- 24:24Speaker 3: reached out to us like, hey, you know, I got
- 24:26Speaker 3: to connect with somebody. You know. It's great guy, a great, great,
- 24:29Speaker 3: great brother businessman and he had a restaurant called Darryl's
- 24:34Speaker 3: and Cajun Bar and grill. I spoke to him on
- 24:38Speaker 3: the phone and I told him like, yeah, you know,
- 24:40Speaker 3: I know it's the last minute, but we wanted to
- 24:41Speaker 3: do a networking event. Da da da da. So he's
- 24:43Speaker 3: like all right, cool, He's like, you know, I got
- 24:45Speaker 3: Monday open. So it was it was a Monday. So
- 24:48Speaker 3: not only was it just a random Monday, but it's
- 24:51Speaker 3: not really you know, networking events on Monday it was
- 24:56Speaker 3: in Carson, California. We didn't really know. You know, we're
- 24:58Speaker 3: not from LA, so we didn't really know. You know,
- 25:00Speaker 3: obviously with LA traffic, Carson, California is way out the way.
- 25:04Speaker 3: So it was a Monday, it was like right after
- 25:07Speaker 3: work and it was in Carson, California, and it was
- 25:11Speaker 3: two days. We just put a flyer up on Instagram
- 25:14Speaker 3: like yo, if you're in LA, pop up on us,
- 25:17Speaker 3: and we packed it out and it was crazy because
- 25:20Speaker 3: it was like for people to come from like San Bernardino.
- 25:25Speaker 3: People came, some people came from San Diego, like it
- 25:29Speaker 3: was coming like two hours. So we're like, we got
- 25:32Speaker 3: something in real life. It's bigger than just on the phone.
- 25:34Speaker 3: We didn't have any merch with us at that point
- 25:36Speaker 3: in time, go back to We wasn't expecting it, but
- 25:39Speaker 3: we're like, you know what going forward, this is this
- 25:41Speaker 3: would be a marketing play. So now we do the
- 25:46Speaker 3: next marketing. We do the next event in Brooklyn. Shout
- 25:49Speaker 3: out to b K nine, We do that. Yeah, a
- 25:52Speaker 3: few months later, we do it in Brooklyn, and now
- 25:55Speaker 3: we prepared and now we got a whole plan on
- 25:57Speaker 3: how to actually monetize these things too. Because it's like,
- 25:59Speaker 3: all right, now it's free, but we're like, all at
- 26:02Speaker 3: the very least, we can make some money off of
- 26:04Speaker 3: the bar and we can sell merch. So now, gota
- 26:07Speaker 3: we gotta split at the bar because we're bringing a
- 26:09Speaker 3: bunch of people there. We pick our off day, like
- 26:11Speaker 3: a Thursday. We're bringing a bunch of people there that's
- 26:15Speaker 3: not usually going to be there on Thursday at six
- 26:17Speaker 3: o'clock in the evening, so you know, they don't really
- 26:21Speaker 3: have a problem splitting the bar. And it was everything
- 26:23Speaker 3: at the bar, not just alcohol. Food and alcohol. That's
- 26:26Speaker 3: supportant for people. If you think about doing events once
- 26:28Speaker 3: Corona opens, don't just let them give you the alcohol.
- 26:32Speaker 3: You got to get the food in the alcohol. And
- 26:34Speaker 3: then we set up our merch table and the merch.
- 26:37Speaker 3: The merch in there sold out like it was. It
- 26:39Speaker 3: was flying like hotcakes. So now we realize, all right,
- 26:42Speaker 3: we got something. Not only can we sell merch online,
- 26:45Speaker 3: but we can actually sell merch hand in hand. And
- 26:48Speaker 3: these events are a great thing to do it because
- 26:50Speaker 3: it's not like we have a store. So now we
- 26:53Speaker 3: have hundreds of people that are coming to a live event.
- 26:55Speaker 3: We can print the merch. But now that put us
- 26:57Speaker 3: in a different space because we couldn't now we had
- 26:59Speaker 3: to actually find physical printer for those. We still had
- 27:02Speaker 3: the online operation, but we had to have the physical
- 27:05Speaker 3: So how do we how do we do the physical situation?
- 27:07Speaker 6: So, I mean, luckily, I knew a guy, a fellow
- 27:09Speaker 6: in Jersey that had a print, a print print, so
- 27:14Speaker 6: we did uh. I sent him the logo. I bought
- 27:17Speaker 6: the shirts. I had an account with a site called
- 27:19Speaker 6: ssactiveword dot com and they basically get all your apparel
- 27:23Speaker 6: from there. You get like your T shirts and everything,
- 27:25Speaker 6: but it's blank. It's blank apparel, and you can get
- 27:27Speaker 6: like a next level shirt for about three dollars and fifty.
- 27:31Speaker 6: So we bought all the shirts.
- 27:32Speaker 5: We bought. I think we bought like one hundred, right
- 27:34Speaker 5: fifty one hundred shirts.
- 27:35Speaker 6: We bought a hundred. We bought one hundred shirts. And
- 27:38Speaker 6: my guy in Jersey, he printed him for like four
- 27:41Speaker 6: dollars apiece.
- 27:43Speaker 5: He looked out for us.
- 27:44Speaker 4: That's a fact. Remember driving we had to drive the
- 27:46Speaker 4: Jersey to go pick him on.
- 27:46Speaker 5: The next time we went to go get it, he
- 27:48Speaker 5: went up. He was like, yeah, I can't give you
- 27:49Speaker 5: this crazy tail again. But yeah, he did it.
- 27:51Speaker 6: For like four dollars apiece, so it only really close.
- 27:53Speaker 6: It's like seven dollars. What's his name, damn, Jared.
- 28:05Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 28:09Speaker 5: I can I can find out in two seconds.
- 28:12Speaker 3: I mean you're doing I mean does he have a
- 28:19Speaker 3: website or something? Or no, that's all right, don't don't
- 28:21Speaker 3: worry about that. So, yeah, I remember that man shot
- 28:26Speaker 3: to him. That was crazy because we actually had to
- 28:27Speaker 3: go to his house. He had a print press like
- 28:30Speaker 3: Gage's car though his car.
- 28:35Speaker 5: Let's take that out. You don't remember that? What that
- 28:38Speaker 5: blew his mind?
- 28:40Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 28:40Speaker 5: Remember we had to push.
- 28:42Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, we pulled up. We pulled up. Yeah, yeah,
- 28:44Speaker 4: we pulled up. He had to pull That's the fact.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Because it was like this random I'm like, yo, where
- 28:48Speaker 4: Mike got us going? Man, because you're doing all this,
- 28:50Speaker 4: you're doing all this from Atlanta, but we actually doing
- 28:52Speaker 4: like the legwork out here, Like yo, we gotta go
- 28:53Speaker 4: to this random duced crib and I was like, this
- 28:55Speaker 4: is getting crazy.
- 28:56Speaker 6: Man.
- 28:56Speaker 4: We ran up to his house. I'm like, oh, he
- 28:58Speaker 4: got a nice car and it's oh, there's a garage
- 29:00Speaker 4: back there, and trying to find out that's what he's running.
- 29:02Speaker 4: The operation out of.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Yeah, he was literally running it out of his basement
- 29:07Speaker 3: printing up shirts. So yeah, shot out to him, No,
- 29:09Speaker 3: good dude, and uh, you know you can find that
- 29:13Speaker 3: just a print shop anywhere, I guess, but we found
- 29:15Speaker 3: that one in Jersey. So we did that, and we
- 29:17Speaker 3: still was a little nervous because you know, it was
- 29:19Speaker 3: our first event where we're selling merchandise and we don't
- 29:21Speaker 3: know how that's going to go. And we found out that,
- 29:24Speaker 3: you know, people not only what they willing to buy,
- 29:26Speaker 3: but they was you know, buying two and three shirts
- 29:29Speaker 3: and then so this is important as well, making sure
- 29:31Speaker 3: you had your cash app set up because you know,
- 29:34Speaker 3: especially if you're selling merch on a fly like that.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Of course, the credit card process a machine would be great,
- 29:38Speaker 3: but we don't. We didn't have that, and that might
- 29:41Speaker 3: not be you know, something that you can do right
- 29:43Speaker 3: away if you're not you know, you're just doing it
- 29:45Speaker 3: on the fly. But cash app is definitely a way
- 29:48Speaker 3: digitally people might not have money on them. So everybody
- 29:51Speaker 3: didn't have money, so you know, just cash app signs.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Up to it and we ain't have any money. So
- 29:57Speaker 4: it was like if somebody wanted to change it was
- 29:58Speaker 4: just like what we do, you know what I'm saying,
- 30:00Speaker 4: So the digital digital Yeah, we're just out there, you
- 30:03Speaker 4: know what. Shout Shout out to Zay, Shout to Yogi
- 30:05Speaker 4: shot Danielle for for out being out there selling them
- 30:08Speaker 4: because they was outside in the streets with it.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Man.
- 30:10Speaker 4: It was hand to hand combat.
- 30:11Speaker 5: Out there in front like before you came in.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Yet I know we was up to something like the
- 30:16Speaker 4: first once we walked up, because you know, we had
- 30:18Speaker 4: no idea this was the first time doing an event
- 30:19Speaker 4: in New York. When we walked up. As soon as
- 30:21Speaker 4: we got like in front of b K nine, this
- 30:23Speaker 4: dude was like, Yo, I just took a bus from
- 30:25Speaker 4: Philadelphia to come see you. Wow. And I was just
- 30:27Speaker 4: like what. And then another lady was like, yo, I
- 30:30Speaker 4: just took a bus from Rhde Island and I'm just
- 30:31Speaker 4: like yo, this is crazy, Like they really rocking with
- 30:34Speaker 4: us out here, man. So yeah, man, you just you
- 30:37Speaker 4: never know, man, You never know what the support is.
- 30:38Speaker 4: You can study all the analytics you want until you
- 30:40Speaker 4: get to a place and you have the ability to
- 30:43Speaker 4: touch the people. Man, that's when you really see like
- 30:45Speaker 4: the amazing it was. That was definitely an amazing experience.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Because you put you put the picture out on Instagram. Yeah,
- 30:51Speaker 4: we flooded. We literally flooded the street.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it was too many people in the inn, the establishment.
- 30:55Speaker 3: They flooded out on the streets. It was old school
- 30:57Speaker 3: New York vibes for sure. Said, you know, shout out
- 31:00Speaker 3: to everybody that worked the merch table. That's what you do.
- 31:02Speaker 3: You get somebody, you know that a young person that
- 31:05Speaker 3: to work work the merch table, give the one hundred
- 31:07Speaker 3: dollars for it, somebody that you trust. And that's how
- 31:11Speaker 3: that's what we did. So all so now from there
- 31:13Speaker 3: we gotta we gotta model in place off of trial
- 31:16Speaker 3: and error. So then we went to a few other
- 31:18Speaker 3: cities after that. We went to Atlanta shout out to
- 31:21Speaker 3: Viata Lounge. We went to Houston, shout out to lay
- 31:23Speaker 3: Shot the Jazminez. We went to Chicago Bureau Bar. So yeah,
- 31:29Speaker 3: we went on a We went on a five city tour.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Uh before we had any paid events, and it was
- 31:35Speaker 3: all free. We was paying out, paying our own way
- 31:37Speaker 3: to get out to each city. And like I said,
- 31:40Speaker 3: our whole goal was just to try to make our
- 31:42Speaker 3: travel back from the bar and then merch and then
- 31:46Speaker 3: we would do interviews in those cities too, And not
- 31:49Speaker 3: only did that just build our just street crag because
- 31:53Speaker 3: we were just moving around and the crowds just kept
- 31:55Speaker 3: swelling and swelling. By the time we finished up in Chicago,
- 31:58Speaker 3: I think we had like it was averaging like four
- 32:00Speaker 3: hundred five hundred people in an event. It was just crazy,
- 32:03Speaker 3: like establishment owners, like we never saw this before ever,
- 32:06Speaker 3: And we were selling a bunch of merch and then
- 32:08Speaker 3: that led to us doing paid events. So after that
- 32:10Speaker 3: first round of the five city tour, then we started
- 32:12Speaker 3: doing paid events where we did live podcasts and workshops
- 32:17Speaker 3: and made like a whole two day weekend out of it.
- 32:19Speaker 3: And we hit you know cities on that tour as well,
- 32:21Speaker 3: and we sold merched there and everything was going good.
- 32:26Speaker 3: We was releasing some new merch we had. Eyl University
- 32:31Speaker 3: was our online education platform which had just started at
- 32:34Speaker 3: that time in November, and you know, one way to
- 32:37Speaker 3: really promote that, we figured was through merchandise as well.
- 32:41Speaker 3: So going back to the educational play, it is like,
- 32:44Speaker 3: all right, Eyo University. So now we got two lines.
- 32:48Speaker 3: We got the ascess over liability line, but then we
- 32:51Speaker 3: got the Eyo University line. We wanted to do ey university.
- 32:54Speaker 3: We wanted to make it like college. So we talked,
- 32:57Speaker 3: you wan't to talk about that as far as like
- 32:58Speaker 3: how we did the the symbol with the olive branch
- 33:03Speaker 3: and all of that.
- 33:04Speaker 5: Well, you know, I've seen like a couple of shields. Uh.
- 33:08Speaker 6: You know, I feel like a university has a shield
- 33:11Speaker 6: that's kind of normal. So I like, design a shield
- 33:14Speaker 6: so low. That's I had that first, and then we
- 33:16Speaker 6: had a e y L. We had that e y
- 33:18Speaker 6: L and the script. We had that, and I was
- 33:20Speaker 6: trying to put e y L in different things, but
- 33:22Speaker 6: I was like, why work, Why try to change something
- 33:24Speaker 6: you already have? So I put the e y L
- 33:27Speaker 6: in there in the middle and then put the leaf.
- 33:29Speaker 6: Is I guess what does that mean for the educational world?
- 33:32Speaker 3: That's like the IVY League.
- 33:35Speaker 6: It definitely proceeds. And I think that was that was it.
- 33:38Speaker 6: I mean it was It wasn't really too hard. We
- 33:40Speaker 6: just made it really simple. I think the first Macaba
- 33:42Speaker 6: saying was, Ah.
- 33:43Speaker 4: That's it, that's it. Yeah, And we wore we wore
- 33:45Speaker 4: it in DC.
- 33:46Speaker 3: We can't.
- 33:48Speaker 4: This episode is brought to you by P and C. Bank.
- 33:50Speaker 4: A lot of people think podcasts about work are boring,

- 35:38Speaker 7: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 35:42Speaker 7: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 35:46Speaker 7: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with
- 35:50Speaker 7: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 35:54Speaker 7: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 35:58Speaker 7: Donald J. Trump's leadership. Christyom, the United States Secretary of
- 36:02Speaker 7: Homeland Security under President Trump, attempted illegal border crossings are
- 36:07Speaker 7: at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over one hundred
- 36:10Speaker 7: thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you were here illegally,
- 36:15Speaker 7: your next you will be fine nearly one thousand dollars
- 36:18Speaker 7: a day. Imprisoned and deported, you will never return. But
- 36:22Speaker 7: if you register using our CBP home app and leave now,
- 36:26Speaker 7: you could be allowed to return legally. Do what's right.
- 36:30Speaker 7: Leave now. Under President Trump America's laws, border and families
- 36:35Speaker 7: will be protected.
- 36:36Speaker 5: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Get the DC isvent too, Like we have DC Child
- 36:42Speaker 3: out to DC that was a paid event with our
- 36:44Speaker 3: shot at DC and yeah, so that became something that
- 36:47Speaker 3: and this is extremely important to marketing for just creatives,
- 36:51Speaker 3: whether you're doing merch or not. We always try to
- 36:54Speaker 3: keep the same theme. So being that way educational platform,
- 36:58Speaker 3: Eyo University the name, which is perfect to have an
- 37:02Speaker 3: educational and then like even the guests that come on
- 37:04Speaker 3: our show, we don't call them guests. We call them alumni.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Like it's like they finished Eyo University and now theyven
- 37:09Speaker 3: their alumni. And the people that actually teach classes for Universe,
- 37:13Speaker 3: because every single week is a different class at Eyo University,
- 37:16Speaker 3: So we don't just call them like guests instructures and
- 37:18Speaker 3: stuff like that, we call them professors. Right, So now
- 37:20Speaker 3: we're playing on theme and then now Friday we release
- 37:24Speaker 3: micro clips on on Friday for our podcast outlets, and
- 37:28Speaker 3: we call those study Hall because that's like direct you know,
- 37:32Speaker 3: twenty thirty minutes of just straight information about learning about
- 37:35Speaker 3: different topics.
- 37:36Speaker 4: Sometimes when you need extra help, you got to go
- 37:37Speaker 4: to study home. So like yo, yeah that so that
- 37:41Speaker 4: it's a perfect play on it because it's like yo,
- 37:43Speaker 4: if you missed that in the episode, like here's the
- 37:45Speaker 4: direct access to it.
- 37:46Speaker 3: And then even for the emoji, now shout out to
- 37:50Speaker 3: I forget who put that in there, but one of
- 37:52Speaker 3: the earners put that in there where it was a cap.
- 37:55Speaker 3: So now we ran with that the graduation cap.
- 37:58Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, we needed a similar Yeah.
- 38:00Speaker 3: So now you see us on you know, on Instagram
- 38:02Speaker 3: if we always put a hashtag or Alicia Eyo university
- 38:06Speaker 3: and then the cap, the graduation cap is like synonymous
- 38:09Speaker 3: with us. Now that that's an emoji all around the
- 38:11Speaker 3: education camp. So I have to say, now we have
- 38:14Speaker 3: Eyo University. And then it's like, all right, Eyo University.
- 38:17Speaker 3: What do colleges have? Right? We got hoodies and stuff
- 38:20Speaker 3: like that, but college is a little different. So they
- 38:23Speaker 3: got track suits, right, Like if you go to college,
- 38:25Speaker 3: like you got tracksuit, which I'm actually wearing right now.
- 38:28Speaker 3: And then it's like a variety of other things that
- 38:31Speaker 3: colleges have right when we'll talk about later as far
- 38:33Speaker 3: as it's varsity jackets and things that. So we developed
- 38:37Speaker 3: a different line and things was going good. Eyo University
- 38:40Speaker 3: started selling Asso reliabilities. Everything was selling with the merch,
- 38:45Speaker 3: and then COVID March came. COVID nineteen hit and that
- 38:50Speaker 3: changed everything because now when COVID hit, you want to
- 38:53Speaker 3: tell them what happened with that?
- 38:55Speaker 5: Oh man?
- 38:55Speaker 6: So COVID hit and we were still getting sales, but
- 39:00Speaker 6: unfortunately Printfal wasn't able to keep up with the sales.
- 39:05Speaker 6: And now you know, we got customers waiting four weeks
- 39:08Speaker 6: for their merch.
- 39:09Speaker 5: You're like, oh man, like what we're gonna do?
- 39:11Speaker 6: And Rashad when he's seeing four weeks, he's you know,
- 39:14Speaker 6: we got we gotta change it. Other companies are getting out.
- 39:18Speaker 6: We gotta get it out. So I figured out, we
- 39:21Speaker 6: gotta we gotta do our own merch.
- 39:22Speaker 3: So why did we Why would they? Why was it
- 39:23Speaker 3: four weeks because of COVID?
- 39:25Speaker 6: Because I mean factories, fact factories, factories couldn't open.
- 39:30Speaker 4: So print ful Obviously, we says the manufacturer the fulfillment,
- 39:33Speaker 4: and they're.
- 39:34Speaker 6: Like, really, yea, they weren't matter of factoring the goods,
- 39:36Speaker 6: so we couldn't get the goods because everybody was closed
- 39:39Speaker 6: down exactly so so so you couldn't you can't get
- 39:42Speaker 6: something you can't get, you know, like they weren't getting
- 39:44Speaker 6: the merch.
- 39:44Speaker 3: So they didn't have any more. The problem was that
- 39:47Speaker 3: it was a it was a it was a supply
- 39:49Speaker 3: on merch because the factories were being shut down because
- 39:52Speaker 3: of COVID correct so but the merchandise was still on
- 39:55Speaker 3: the website. So people's ordering it in print fall. They
- 39:59Speaker 3: can't get their merch from their factories and we can,
- 40:02Speaker 3: and then we can't get the merch out. So now
- 40:03Speaker 3: it's we're looking crazy because people's ordering it and it's
- 40:07Speaker 3: like back ordered for like five weeks, spending. People sending
- 40:10Speaker 3: us very concerning disturbing, they're concerned, they're cursing us out
- 40:17Speaker 3: Like I knew this.
- 40:18Speaker 4: I knew this was the guys man.
- 40:20Speaker 3: I'm like, yo, you know what it really hit on.
- 40:22Speaker 4: It was one we try to do the ones with colors.
- 40:24Speaker 4: So when we started seeing like somebody would order red
- 40:26Speaker 4: or were ordered out of it was like it was tough,
- 40:28Speaker 4: but we could do black and white, and so for
- 40:30Speaker 4: a while we were just like, Yo, we're just going
- 40:31Speaker 4: to sell black and white because that's all they had,
- 40:34Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. So and that's true too,
- 40:35Speaker 4: So like paying attention to analytics is key, right, Like
- 40:38Speaker 4: we can see which color is selling, so it's like, yo,
- 40:41Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. We can see the color,
- 40:42Speaker 4: we can see the size, we know which one is moving.
- 40:45Speaker 4: So it's like, yeah, somebody might order a random yellow sweatshirt,
- 40:47Speaker 4: and like every customer is important, so if they're not
- 40:49Speaker 4: getting it for four weeks, it's like, all right, we've
- 40:52Speaker 4: got to make a change. This ain't working.
- 40:54Speaker 3: We had a nice thing going with the merch and
- 40:56Speaker 3: then that really interrupted it. But it was actually a
- 40:58Speaker 3: blessing in disguise because we had been talking about making
- 41:01Speaker 3: a change for a while because they were taking a
- 41:05Speaker 3: large portion of our profits. Don't talk about that well.
- 41:08Speaker 6: So, like I said before, they would give us thirty
- 41:12Speaker 6: percent on the sales, So if we made a thousand dollars,
- 41:15Speaker 6: we was only bring home three hundred dollars, so they're
- 41:18Speaker 6: technically making more than us. And this was happening for
- 41:21Speaker 6: a long time. And again both of you guys were like, we.
- 41:23Speaker 5: Need to switch.
- 41:24Speaker 6: We need to switch on every transaction. Yeah, you know,
- 41:26Speaker 6: on every transaction exactly, but we need to switch. We
- 41:28Speaker 6: need to start doing our own merch because at this point,
- 41:31Speaker 6: we already know we have something. It's selling, is good,
- 41:34Speaker 6: and it's valuable. So when you first started out, we
- 41:37Speaker 6: don't know, we're unknown. So we actually had a product
- 41:41Speaker 6: that was selling really well and we were still using
- 41:43Speaker 6: printfle and I think printvill was supposed to be used
- 41:45Speaker 6: this until we knew what we could sell and you
- 41:47Speaker 6: know what we were selling, so we were only making thirty percent,
- 41:52Speaker 6: So we had that we had. It was a gift,
- 41:53Speaker 6: the gift and the curse, right, So we had some
- 41:56Speaker 6: customers and we've really I'm personally sorry, and I know
- 41:58Speaker 6: they're personally sorry that you guys took a little longer
- 42:01Speaker 6: to get your merch.
- 42:01Speaker 3: But everybody got their merch by the way.
- 42:03Speaker 6: Everybody got their merch, we got it. But so so
- 42:06Speaker 6: we had the switch. Now we had the switch, we
- 42:08Speaker 6: had no choice. So what we end up doing is
- 42:11Speaker 6: we went to uh, you know, a Google, Google's you know,
- 42:13Speaker 6: how can I I didn't want to buy a silkscreen
- 42:16Speaker 6: place that was just gonna be too much. But how
- 42:18Speaker 6: can I get this silk screen onto a shirt? And
- 42:21Speaker 6: I found I found a site PW Custom I think
- 42:24Speaker 6: it's called pwcustom dot com. And what they do is
- 42:28Speaker 6: you send the logo to them and you could put two,
- 42:30Speaker 6: you can put four, you can put a bunch of
- 42:31Speaker 6: logos on a big twelve by twelve foot sheet. So
- 42:34Speaker 6: what I did was I put a bunch of logos
- 42:35Speaker 6: on a twelve foot by a twelve by twelve sheet
- 42:39Speaker 6: and then they sent it to you. You buy like
- 42:40Speaker 6: a it's so cheap. It's like one hundred dollars for
- 42:42Speaker 6: like one hundred sheets. So I'm basically paying a thirty
- 42:46Speaker 6: cent a logo because I had like four logos on it. Right,
- 42:49Speaker 6: So we paid like thirty cent a logo. I sent
- 42:52Speaker 6: them a logo, they sent them back a week later.
- 42:54Speaker 6: I had all these logos. I'm like, all right, how
- 42:56Speaker 6: do we get it on the shirt?
- 42:57Speaker 4: What we're going to do?
- 42:58Speaker 5: What we gotta do?
- 42:59Speaker 6: Google at you need you did a hint sing right,
- 43:02Speaker 6: you had to get it like a heating like three
- 43:04Speaker 6: hundred dollars. You go to Amazon anywhere to get like
- 43:07Speaker 6: a T shirt heat pressed.
- 43:09Speaker 5: We got that.
- 43:11Speaker 6: You literally put this, I mean, I couldn't believe this.
- 43:13Speaker 6: We paid three dollars for a shirt. We paid fifty
- 43:17Speaker 6: and fifty cents to a dollar for the logo, and
- 43:19Speaker 6: we got the heat sing And once you pay that,
- 43:21Speaker 6: pay that, you don't have to pay that anymore. And
- 43:23Speaker 6: you put it on there for thirty seconds. You got
- 43:26Speaker 6: your T shirt and.
- 43:27Speaker 5: We got a front logo at a bat logo.
- 43:30Speaker 3: What's the name of the machine again, it's it's a
- 43:32Speaker 3: T shirt heat press. How much did that cost?
- 43:35Speaker 5: You can get you a.
- 43:36Speaker 6: Decent one is three hundred, three hundred and fifty dollars.
- 43:37Speaker 6: Thats a decent one you want. You want a quality
- 43:39Speaker 6: heat pressed because one is going to last longer and
- 43:42Speaker 6: two the heat is is going to be consistent.
- 43:44Speaker 4: You can go on Amazon right now if you just
- 43:45Speaker 4: type in power press machine, it'll come up because and
- 43:48Speaker 4: look at differ views, so review.
- 43:49Speaker 6: What did that change our profit margin from? So we
- 43:51Speaker 6: went from making thirty percent to ninety percent and then
- 43:57Speaker 6: and then we had the power to ship everything out ourselves. Yeah,
- 44:00Speaker 6: so we got we got the label printer, I got
- 44:03Speaker 6: the label printer which hooks directly up to Shopify. I mean,
- 44:07Speaker 6: you know, you press a button, it prints out the
- 44:09Speaker 6: customers are labeled. So we already take that. I went
- 44:12Speaker 6: to Amazon. You get the black little packages to put
- 44:15Speaker 6: the merch in, put the label on it, send it out.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Shout out to Spargo because when we sat down with
- 44:21Speaker 4: him in I think it was early February, we sat
- 44:24Speaker 4: down with him and we're like, how are you doing this?
- 44:26Speaker 4: And he's like, yeah, I'm going to the mail every day,
- 44:27Speaker 4: I'm putting that joint of the mail. I'm putting shipments
- 44:29Speaker 4: in the mail. I'm just like, he's fourteenth, why.
- 44:32Speaker 5: Are we not doing this?
- 44:34Speaker 4: So like we were learning from him, like he probably
- 44:36Speaker 4: even know, but we just learning from him, Like yo,
- 44:38Speaker 4: he's actually doing this, Like we need to get that
- 44:40Speaker 4: print that he's using, like just taking pieces. So it's like,
- 44:43Speaker 4: you know, everything that we're saying and we're teaching and
- 44:45Speaker 4: we're learning, we're also applying. I think that's why I
- 44:47Speaker 4: don't want people to overlook.
- 44:48Speaker 6: That we definitely we get we give a lot of
- 44:50Speaker 6: information on the platform, and it's like, how could are
- 44:53Speaker 6: we getting so much information? Why we're not taking advantage
- 44:55Speaker 6: of the information so and basically we got the we
- 44:59Speaker 6: got the little system set up we had. At first
- 45:01Speaker 6: we were using my closet, had an empty closet in
- 45:04Speaker 6: my house. We was using my closet.
- 45:05Speaker 4: We had all the mercher trapping.
- 45:07Speaker 5: It was trapping out the closet. And then we started
- 45:09Speaker 5: getting more merch.
- 45:10Speaker 6: We was trapping out a whole room and then we
- 45:12Speaker 6: got a whole studio to put all the merchant.
- 45:15Speaker 3: But even before that, so then even I'm using l A,
- 45:17Speaker 3: we had the portable.
- 45:19Speaker 6: That was that's the that's the power press. That was
- 45:21Speaker 6: that was that was a I couldn't even get the
- 45:25Speaker 6: name of it. But it was something you got on
- 45:26Speaker 6: It was like one hundred dollars, but it's something you
- 45:28Speaker 6: got on I got We got it from a Walmart
- 45:31Speaker 6: Walmart dot com. But it was it was that one.
- 45:34Speaker 6: I won't suggest that one because taling there. That was
- 45:37Speaker 6: our trialing there because remember I said, you have to
- 45:39Speaker 6: get something that's consistently hot, at a steady heat, and
- 45:43Speaker 6: it has to it has to give a lot of pressure.
- 45:45Speaker 6: And that's why because because it's a chemical on the
- 45:46Speaker 6: other side of this, and it goes inside the fabric
- 45:49Speaker 6: and it stays in the fabric, Like you could watch
- 45:50Speaker 6: this a million times.
- 45:51Speaker 5: It ain't coming out that.
- 45:53Speaker 4: One was just like that. Definitely was trying never but
- 45:55Speaker 4: it was like literally that was man hand labor. It
- 45:57Speaker 4: was like, Yo, bring me the T shirt, bring me
- 45:59Speaker 4: the color, and we're putting it down in.
- 46:01Speaker 5: It and stuff. Think we was giving those out. We
- 46:03Speaker 5: didn't sell.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean shot Resa Islam when he's seen us
- 46:06Speaker 3: and he came, He's like, y'are doing this by yourself.
- 46:09Speaker 3: Then he's like, what color you want? What size? We
- 46:12Speaker 3: literally did it like in five minutes. He was amazed.
- 46:15Speaker 3: He was amazed. He was like, y'all can just I
- 46:17Speaker 3: just did this like just like yeah, like yeah. We
- 46:20Speaker 3: set up shopping in l a for the whole month
- 46:22Speaker 3: of July and we had a bunch of merch that
- 46:24Speaker 3: we was just making, giving people, giving it out. We ourselves.
- 46:29Speaker 4: Kids got made their own T shirt.
- 46:31Speaker 3: We had this for the kids. We had merch for
- 46:32Speaker 3: the kids. Yet that he was just like, Yo, we're
- 46:33Speaker 3: gonna wear something. Just wear everything. Now. My whole closet
- 46:36Speaker 3: is just full of earn leisious stuff. So so so
- 46:39Speaker 3: from now all right, so now we're scaling and we're
- 46:42Speaker 3: doing it ourselves. And it's obviously a much more you
- 46:47Speaker 3: make more on the profit margin, but it's a lot
- 46:49Speaker 3: more work involved because now somebody has to physically do
- 46:52Speaker 3: the work, not only make the shirts. First, we got
- 46:56Speaker 3: to buy the inventory, talk about that.
- 46:59Speaker 6: So so we we had to buy uh, you know,
- 47:01Speaker 6: we had to spend a lot of money on like
- 47:03Speaker 6: T shirts, sweat sweaters, hoodies.
- 47:06Speaker 5: We bought it all that. We bought it all blank.
- 47:08Speaker 6: And I mean, I know they have the tags of
- 47:11Speaker 6: the companies and I know you didn't like that at all,
- 47:14Speaker 6: and that's when we'll probably get to the next point. Well,
- 47:16Speaker 6: we got to the next level. But but at the
- 47:17Speaker 6: end of the day, we got good quality merch. We
- 47:19Speaker 6: knew it with quality we liked. We knew which brands
- 47:22Speaker 6: of the sweaters we liked. We knew which brands of
- 47:24Speaker 6: the T shirts we liked. So we would buy like
- 47:26Speaker 6: boxes and boxes and boxes of merch that would come
- 47:29Speaker 6: to the house and then unpack it and then you
- 47:32Speaker 6: would stamp it with the logo and you know and whatnot.
- 47:35Speaker 3: And then talk about like different companies. It's like me,
- 47:38Speaker 3: like I have long arms, so it was like I
- 47:40Speaker 3: used to always get frustrated I'm like, yo, this sweater
- 47:42Speaker 3: doesn't fit me the same way to other sweater fit me.
- 47:44Speaker 3: And I realized that's because it was different brands.
- 47:47Speaker 5: Right yep.
- 47:47Speaker 6: So like that's why we did trialing there with the brands.
- 47:50Speaker 6: We knew next level, we knew how they fit.
- 47:52Speaker 5: Guilding.
- 47:53Speaker 6: You didn't like Guilding because it was too short. It
- 47:55Speaker 6: was cut too short, the arms was cut too short.
- 47:57Speaker 6: So we wanted we wanted to fit a little bit especial.
- 48:00Speaker 6: You're gonna be wearing it all the time. You you're
- 48:02Speaker 6: the face of the brand, so we wanted to make
- 48:05Speaker 6: it look fitting and well, uh, we had another one
- 48:09Speaker 6: that was really good, but I don't know which one.
- 48:11Speaker 5: You didn't like it, but it was called Independent, which
- 48:12Speaker 5: was really thick. Remember the thick one.
- 48:14Speaker 6: That really those great like I like that was I
- 48:17Speaker 6: live in Atlanta, said that was my that was my code.
- 48:20Speaker 6: But that was that we had. We had the Independent.
- 48:22Speaker 6: So everything was for a reason, you know, one thing
- 48:26Speaker 6: was good and one thing was bad. Someone told us
- 48:27Speaker 6: about Guilding. Your boy told us about the Guilding uh
- 48:31Speaker 6: pro or something. I don't know what the name of
- 48:32Speaker 6: Guilding on my hand HAMMERA.
- 48:35Speaker 5: I didn't like that. What's your friend's name.
- 48:37Speaker 6: Uh oh, Chad was the chat chat chat Yeah, yeah, chat.
- 48:42Speaker 6: So he told us about that. I ordered a bunch
- 48:45Speaker 6: of those. I mean, our person didn't like him. They
- 48:47Speaker 6: were good with the neck, so my neck wouldn't get
- 48:49Speaker 6: moist like they said.
- 48:51Speaker 5: He I mean, you know how they got at me, Man,
- 48:54Speaker 5: they got at me. Going to cut this out.
- 48:56Speaker 6: But but but whether or not we looked at a
- 48:59Speaker 6: different bunch of different shirts, we did order a bunch
- 49:01Speaker 6: of shirts from the ss active dot com because they
- 49:05Speaker 6: give you access to all the all the inventory. And
- 49:08Speaker 6: the good thing is they had a warehouse literally twenty
- 49:10Speaker 6: minutes from my house, so if I had like a
- 49:12Speaker 6: big order to fulfill, I can literally go there and
- 49:15Speaker 6: pick up the merch the same day and bring it
- 49:17Speaker 6: back and printed and send it out in the same day.
- 49:18Speaker 6: So that was really good. It was definitely a good process.
- 49:21Speaker 6: It was a good process, but it was it was
- 49:23Speaker 6: too much. It was too much work and and and
- 49:26Speaker 6: we we are big on you want to do something
- 49:28Speaker 6: once and get paid for it over and over again.
- 49:31Speaker 4: Create a system, yeah, to save yourself energy, time and money.
- 49:34Speaker 6: And and good. It was good that we know we
- 49:36Speaker 6: had that to fall back on. But the best thing
- 49:39Speaker 6: about it is it was we was learning. We was
- 49:41Speaker 6: always learning.
- 49:41Speaker 4: Yeah, shout out to chat from ourselve. He's been he's
- 49:44Speaker 4: been like instricating all the movies that we've been making,
- 49:47Speaker 4: especially when it came to the merge because obviously they
- 49:48Speaker 4: have a successful merch mind that they're doing. So like
- 49:51Speaker 4: we've just been picking his brain and one of the
- 49:53Speaker 4: things he was saying was like, it's that fine balance, right. So,
- 49:55Speaker 4: like Printville was cool because we didn't have to keep inventory,
- 49:57Speaker 4: but now that we're doing it ourselves, it's like, Yo,
- 49:59Speaker 4: we're compiling inventory and like we have to sell it
- 50:03Speaker 4: or it sits. And so like trying to find that balance.
- 50:05Speaker 4: And that's something that I stress to people a lot too,
- 50:07Speaker 4: is like find a balance, Like, Yo, you don't want
- 50:10Speaker 4: to have so much that you can't move it right,
- 50:13Speaker 4: and then you have abundance, but you don't want to
- 50:15Speaker 4: have not enough and now you've sold out and people
- 50:18Speaker 4: still want to demand. So just a balance that you
- 50:21Speaker 4: got to find when you're doing this Mrcht thing.
- 50:22Speaker 3: So yeah, so now we got so Mike lives in
- 50:25Speaker 3: Atlanta and me and Troy live in New York, so
- 50:27Speaker 3: we going to Atlanta. We spending a lot of time
- 50:29Speaker 3: in Atlanta, and we're going out there and he's running
- 50:31Speaker 3: this whole operation out of his apartment and we have
- 50:34Speaker 3: like you know, it's like Blow, like the movie Blow,
- 50:37Speaker 3: and it's just like you know what I'm saying. We
- 50:39Speaker 3: got so much bundles just in a room, like just
- 50:42Speaker 3: stacked to the ceiling of just hoodies and T shirts
- 50:46Speaker 3: and sweaters and print machine. Not only doing this out
- 50:48Speaker 3: of his apartment, we also had a studio. We have
- 50:51Speaker 3: a studio out of his apartment as well. So it's
- 50:53Speaker 3: becoming overwhelming to have all this stuff in his apartment.
- 50:57Speaker 3: So then we have to actually find a physical location.
- 51:01Speaker 3: So this is this is the So this is the
- 51:03Speaker 3: other side of it, right where it's like, all right,
- 51:05Speaker 3: we're print fall. Everything was free, but we was only
- 51:09Speaker 3: getting thirty percent profit. Now we get in double triple
- 51:13Speaker 3: the profit. But now we got to have labor, we
- 51:17Speaker 3: got to have expenses, we got to have warehouses. So
- 51:20Speaker 3: now what do we do with that? Now with the
- 51:22Speaker 3: with the warehouse.
- 51:24Speaker 5: So now we got the warehouse.
- 51:25Speaker 6: So and we got a big, big, big, big open
- 51:28Speaker 6: space and we went to home depot. We got about
- 51:32Speaker 6: ten to fifteen shells and you stack them up. We
- 51:36Speaker 6: put all the merch there. We got a little a desk,
- 51:39Speaker 6: put for the for the computer, for the laborer, and
- 51:42Speaker 6: like we literally got a whole system. So each system,
- 51:45Speaker 6: each thing is labeled like largest and the type of
- 51:49Speaker 6: shirt is totally like organized and the system and processes
- 51:53Speaker 6: in place at this point.
- 51:54Speaker 3: So now we have a we have a we have
- 51:55Speaker 3: a loft in Atlanta that's dedicated just for merch to
- 51:58Speaker 3: our studio.
- 52:00Speaker 4: We're not in your criminal not got my.
- 52:03Speaker 6: Space back, and so so we got this, we got
- 52:06Speaker 6: this this space now and it's like yeah, we we
- 52:10Speaker 6: we we enjoyed, we enjoyed making the merch, but I
- 52:14Speaker 6: think we could be more, even more efficient and even
- 52:17Speaker 6: the quality could be even better. So we we actually,
- 52:21Speaker 6: you know, shout out. I gotta give shout to Tiffany
- 52:22Speaker 6: because that's the first person I ever heard, you know,
- 52:24Speaker 6: my sister Tiffany. She she she she she does got
- 52:27Speaker 6: a company influence ours and she got she gets e
- 52:30Speaker 6: merged from Pakistan. I'm like, how the hell you find
- 52:33Speaker 6: out about Pakistan? Like how do you find that? So me,
- 52:37Speaker 6: I do my little research. Again, I'm the only the
- 52:40Speaker 6: only thing I was worried about, is you have to
- 52:42Speaker 6: Western Union. These people is money and this is in
- 52:44Speaker 6: Pakistan's so it's like you don't know if you're gonna
- 52:47Speaker 6: get your money money. So what we did was we
- 52:49Speaker 6: I got three different manufacturers. So if you google fashion manufacturer,
- 52:54Speaker 6: clothing manufacturer Pakistan is gonna come up. So we got
- 52:58Speaker 6: three different things. I got samples from all three of them.
- 53:03Speaker 6: One the first one came, I didn't like it, so
- 53:06Speaker 6: now they didn't like it. The second one came, I
- 53:09Speaker 6: fell in love. Then the third one came whatever. And
- 53:12Speaker 6: the way what I was saying with the money gramm
- 53:15Speaker 6: and stuff, you have to send money through money gramm
- 53:17Speaker 6: of thing.
- 53:17Speaker 5: I was a little worried.
- 53:18Speaker 6: So we had to send about like one hundred dollars
- 53:20Speaker 6: to each of them, three hundred dollars. If we lose
- 53:22Speaker 6: three hundred dolls, we lose three undred hours. The guys
- 53:24Speaker 6: talk to you on WhatsApp. They're very communative. They're sending
- 53:27Speaker 6: pictures every day. They're doing that, and you want to
- 53:29Speaker 6: make sure if you do go to that route, you
- 53:31Speaker 6: want to make sure they're talking to you all the time,
- 53:33Speaker 6: sending you updates every day. You're talking They're not going
- 53:36Speaker 6: days and days without talking to you because you gonta
- 53:39Speaker 6: eventually spend a lot of money with these people because
- 53:41Speaker 6: not only do they just do the they're taking a fabric.
- 53:44Speaker 6: I got to pick the same the fabric I want
- 53:46Speaker 6: it got, I got to pick the tag I wanted,
- 53:48Speaker 6: I got to pick the stitchings I wanted, everything you
- 53:51Speaker 6: could pick. You're literally coming from nothing and getting a
- 53:53Speaker 6: product made from scratch.
- 53:55Speaker 5: It's amazing.
- 53:56Speaker 6: So I'm like, and this is what you're gonna understand
- 53:58Speaker 6: too if you go that route. But then wait, they
- 54:00Speaker 6: gotta ship it. Shipping was five thousand dollars for.
- 54:05Speaker 4: A large bolt.
- 54:06Speaker 3: That's what That's what they get you.
- 54:08Speaker 5: That's where they get you. The ship is like five thousand.
- 54:10Speaker 6: But I'm telling you this quality that you guys are
- 54:12Speaker 6: gonna start getting when it's when we release this merch.
- 54:14Speaker 5: You're gonna think. You're gonna be like, oh my gosh,
- 54:16Speaker 5: I love you guys.
- 54:17Speaker 3: So now so now so you see the evolution. So
- 54:20Speaker 3: event originally we were just letting print Fall do it,
- 54:24Speaker 3: and then we started actually manually doing it, had manual labor,
- 54:28Speaker 3: but that wasn't you can only do like, how far
- 54:31Speaker 3: can you actually just do it yourself manually printing it.
- 54:34Speaker 3: So now we got outsourced it. But now it's like
- 54:37Speaker 3: talk about like the tags, like pay attention to detail,
- 54:40Speaker 3: like we got we got all we.
- 54:41Speaker 5: Got tags on the bottom, we got tags inside.
- 54:43Speaker 3: The early legia, the early Leasia tag, the Leasia to.
- 54:47Speaker 6: Early tags on all our products going forward to all
- 54:49Speaker 6: of the merch early tags.
- 54:51Speaker 5: Because that's what all again, that's a fact, that's what
- 54:53Speaker 5: all began.
- 54:53Speaker 4: I think I think one part that that we're leaving
- 54:55Speaker 4: out is that it also presents an opportunity for employment people,
- 55:00Speaker 4: right because now like that we don't have print Field
- 55:03Speaker 4: doing it for us. Now we got to find somebody
- 55:05Speaker 4: to do that labor for it. So it also provides
- 55:07Speaker 4: economic opportunity for the people around us.
- 55:09Speaker 5: Yeah, and and that's another thing.
- 55:11Speaker 6: You know, my brother Vincent, he he's the one who's
- 55:13Speaker 6: doing like I couldn't do it because I'm doing so
- 55:16Speaker 6: many other things.
- 55:17Speaker 5: I couldn't do this. I'm like, I would love.
- 55:20Speaker 6: To, but I can't, right, I have so many other
- 55:22Speaker 6: things on my place. So my brother Vincent, he just
- 55:24Speaker 6: runs the studio and and runs the merch and does
- 55:27Speaker 6: the merch with what is his guy Smitty, So everybody's
- 55:30Speaker 6: gonna get.
- 55:30Speaker 3: Everybody eats everybody.
- 55:32Speaker 5: That's how it's like, you know, we we created.
- 55:35Speaker 6: What we're doing basically is creating the processes and systems,
- 55:39Speaker 6: and then we allow other people to learn those processes
- 55:41Speaker 6: and systems and they can come and take advantage of
- 55:44Speaker 6: of you know, just great opportunity.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Believe in nepartism.
- 55:49Speaker 4: Everybody eats, everybody got everybody. If you don't feed your wills,
- 55:53Speaker 4: they're gonna put you on the menu.
- 55:54Speaker 5: That's a fact.
- 55:55Speaker 6: So everybody, and it works. It's working out really well.
- 55:58Speaker 6: And I'm excited. I know you guys are excited.
- 56:01Speaker 3: So all right, so now this brings us to the
- 56:04Speaker 3: conclusion of the evolution of people seeing us with T
- 56:07Speaker 3: shirts to now we have this launch what we are
- 56:12Speaker 3: talking about right now, which is the Black Friday launch,
- 56:16Speaker 3: which actually is going to drop a little earlier. But
- 56:19Speaker 3: we got Women's line, we have Farsity, we got collections,
- 56:23Speaker 3: we talk about all of so talk about all the
- 56:25Speaker 3: stuff that we have that's dropping.
- 56:27Speaker 4: So right now, before you start talking, I just want
- 56:29Speaker 4: to say, like, because we've been saying it for so long,
- 56:31Speaker 4: like I'm super excited because we're like, yo, Numert's coming newmarks.
- 56:33Speaker 4: You've been saying, and they've been like, Yo, where's it at.
- 56:35Speaker 4: And I'm like, yeah, we're building it. We're building it
- 56:37Speaker 4: for this moment.
- 56:38Speaker 5: We got a lie.
- 56:39Speaker 4: You know, it's talk to them, like, talk to them,
- 56:42Speaker 4: talk to.
- 56:42Speaker 5: Them, yo.
- 56:43Speaker 6: So so it's like and we like, we know our audience.
- 56:47Speaker 6: We know our audience. And in the beginning, we didn't
- 56:49Speaker 6: have a big woman audience.
- 56:50Speaker 5: We didn't. Then I hit them up. I'm like, yo,
- 56:53Speaker 5: y'all audience.
- 56:54Speaker 6: Is like fifty fifty right now, like fifty to fifty,
- 56:59Speaker 6: Like yeah we should old ladies.
- 57:00Speaker 4: We love, we love, we love our women, we love everybody.
- 57:03Speaker 5: We love veryd love the ladies.
- 57:05Speaker 4: I love everybody said.
- 57:09Speaker 6: I love everybody. I love everybody. Kids line coming to
- 57:11Speaker 6: that's a fact. So you know, we got we're scaling,
- 57:15Speaker 6: We're scaling, skilling day by day. But so we're like,
- 57:18Speaker 6: we got we have to have some lady, some lady
- 57:20Speaker 6: get they can't just be wearing these unisex t shirts
- 57:23Speaker 6: and and and sweaters and whatnot. So we finally got you.
- 57:27Speaker 6: We finally got we got the tights, we got the
- 57:31Speaker 6: sports bride, we got the tank tops, we got we
- 57:34Speaker 6: got a track suit, ladies suit.
- 57:36Speaker 5: We got so much stuff. Oh, you guys are gonna
- 57:39Speaker 5: be af Yeah, so I'm so excited.
- 57:41Speaker 4: Yeah. So so it's really a collection, man, I think
- 57:44Speaker 4: that's the beautiful part in shotty Kye Rivers earlier, it
- 57:46Speaker 4: was just like, Yo, we had Assets of A Liabilities
- 57:48Speaker 4: and people know that it's a brand name, Like they
- 57:50Speaker 4: know that even if they don't know us, they know
- 57:52Speaker 4: that's where it comes from. And so that the Assets
- 57:54Speaker 4: of A Liabilities is its own collection, right, and so
- 57:56Speaker 4: now are your Lesia. When we start earning his University
- 57:59Speaker 4: we start wearing that was like, Yo, we have to
- 58:00Speaker 4: treat this like its own collection because it's anonymous school.
- 58:03Speaker 4: So you're going to see a lot of items coming
- 58:05Speaker 4: from it, whether it be no paths, whether it be
- 58:07Speaker 4: pens and mugs, varsity jackets like we spoke about, right,
- 58:11Speaker 4: these things are synonymous with school, and so like, yeah,
- 58:14Speaker 4: we are our own school.
- 58:15Speaker 3: Yo.
- 58:15Speaker 4: University is a school, and so like the collection will
- 58:19Speaker 4: it will be represent be a representation of that. But
- 58:22Speaker 4: also we got something for our audience, our core supporters.
- 58:25Speaker 4: Man and shout out shout out to camp from Detroite. Yeah,
- 58:28Speaker 4: I love it because it was like, Yo, that represents
- 58:30Speaker 4: our people, right. So like when people have a gang
- 58:34Speaker 4: of supporters, they usually have a name, and so like
- 58:36Speaker 4: when they came out with the Earners, I'm like, Yo,
- 58:38Speaker 4: we got to make something specifically for our audience, man,
- 58:41Speaker 4: Like the core supporters who've been here from day one
- 58:43Speaker 4: and the people who have just joined, like they're earners, right,
- 58:46Speaker 4: Like when we put that graduation emotion, we know that
- 58:49Speaker 4: they with us, and so like we had to create
- 58:51Speaker 4: a collection specifically for those people. And so inside that collection,
- 58:55Speaker 4: you know, there's exclusive items that just for the people
- 58:58Speaker 4: who've been rocking with us. So it's dope. Man, I'm
- 59:01Speaker 4: excited because I've been saying it for so long. I'm
- 59:02Speaker 4: just happy that it's coming to Fluision.
- 59:04Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. And then you know, you can't even
- 59:07Speaker 3: see you can't you're not gonna see it. But I
- 59:09Speaker 3: could feel it that the you know, we stuff we
- 59:11Speaker 3: had cotton before, Now we got like a satin What
- 59:14Speaker 3: is this fabric? If you can see on YouTube, I got.
- 59:18Speaker 5: This a fleece. It's a fleece fabric.
- 59:19Speaker 3: Yeah. Me and Mike have the Eyo University track suits.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Troy has the signature hoodie. But the track suits is
- 59:27Speaker 3: like a satin, it's like a sad. It's embroidered. It's
- 59:30Speaker 3: not it's not like patched on. It's it's actually embroidered.
- 59:34Speaker 3: Got the ey the Earnie a Lesion tag on it,
- 59:38Speaker 3: just like just like r Ip nip, just like the
- 59:41Speaker 3: marathon when they have the you know, because now it's
- 59:44Speaker 3: a lot of people trying to as my man Notcho
- 59:47Speaker 3: Benger says, you know he like SpongeBob and mister prankters
- 59:50Speaker 3: out there, it's a lot of people trying to steal
- 59:52Speaker 3: a sauce and off brands, and you see all these knockoffs.
- 59:55Speaker 3: So now you're gonna know if it's official, if it's
- 59:57Speaker 3: a knockoff. The official ones have earn your Lisia tags,
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: have earned leezie on the bottom, have Eyo University on
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: the back. If you just see something with just the
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: words on it, they look for gates. That's one.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: You know, you know what, you know what We kind
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: of like glossed over a little bit that trademarking process.
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: So like when every time we came up with a logo,
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: we had to be very specific, like yo, which one
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: are we going to do? Because it costs money to
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: trademark these things. And so we trademarked all of our
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: all of the logos that we have, and even something
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: that having to come out, we trademarket. But that's a
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: process too and understanding, like trademarketing is an international thing,
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: and so when when people do, especially if you get
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: a trademark, lawyers out to should be and she handles
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: all our stuff. But it's like, Yo, you got a
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: trademarket for the United States, you got a trademarket for Canada,
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: you got to trademarket for Mexico, I mean all the
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: countries in Europe, China. So it's like when you're going
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: into this process and think about merche thing about where
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: you're going to be selling right away, right because you
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: may not say, like you know, I'm going to trademark
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: this and for France because you may not have an
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: audience in France yet. So like, if the United States
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: is your thing, then make sure you trademark your logo
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: for the United States. As you grow bigger and you
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: start to have an international presence, absolutely you should add
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: that to your portfolio. Because it's like, Yo, the first
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: thing they're gonna do, like what in China is like
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: you know that that's a huge counterfeit population there, right,
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: So it's like they can sell it because it's not
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: trademarked there. So that's something that that I don't want
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: you to forget or kind of like not having in
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: the back of your mind.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: Yeah, the only place that you can get Earn your
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: Leisure apparel is on earn your Leisure dot com or
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: from us live at an event. There's no other there's
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: not We're not selling it on Amazon. We're not happy.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: We don't have any third party selling. So if you're
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: confused about that, the only official place to get acis
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: over aliability of Eyo University merchandises online YouTube or YouTube
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: which brings us to brings you to the to the website.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: But that's it. That's it. So being that you know

- 1:02:16Speaker 3: has been supporting us, and just you know, the free information,
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: even this episode is just a bunch of free information
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: that can help entrepreneurs get up and running. So you know,
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: we appreciate you, and we're not even gonna make you
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: wait till Black Friday. We're gonna have the sales start.
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: Now, right, oh man, yea, make sure we got a
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: lot of work. That's a lot of I can. I
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: can hear the rest of the printh A going off
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: now with him. It's like, yo, man, I can't keep
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: up off. But that's dope, man. And when y'all purchase,
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: make sure that that your screenshot and add.

- 1:04:03Speaker 3: that nation. Hey, not only do they not ever give
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: us any information. They never I never heard Tommy Hill
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: figure come on here and give his blueprint. I just
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: never heard it. No disrespect, I just never heard it.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I never heard Ralph Lauren say, you know how he
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: scaled his business? It pfit marketing plan and the profit
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: margins and the companies that he's using and things that nature.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: I never heard them say anything like that. They just
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: live it up. They just leave it up to you
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: to figure out on your own. So not only are
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: we you know, giving information, but we actually given good
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: product too. And that's why we just kept striving and
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: kept striving and just kept getting on and just give
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: it a BS product like this is actually good merchandise,
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: good product and dope, something that you know, like hopefully,
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: like I said, you could be proud of and you
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: can champion it and we can just make it, you know,
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: a fooble for us, by.
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: Us, And when we go out on the road, I'm
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: looking forward to. I want to see the merch I
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: want to see the people that been supporting us. I
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: want to see the one in that EERN shirt. I
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: want to see the EYL University people out there, Like
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: I think it's so dope. But you know when when
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: COVID clear is up, because we ain't going nowhere, Lord willing,
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: but we want to see that support. And also we
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: didn't even tell him like there's going to be limited releases, right,
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: so we got a lot of stuff that will be
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: dropping inside those questions that are gonna be limited. We
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: got collaborations coming.
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: Tell him about the collaboration, man, I mean.
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: So so I guess uh somebody he's an earner.
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: I think he's an earner, right was.
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: And he posted he posted a he has a company
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: called sol Die, so he sells tied shirts or apparel.
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: And he posted a picture of a soul dyed T
- 1:05:32Speaker 6: shirt with the assets over lives. So what he did
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: was he bought a white T shirt from us. We
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: sent it out to him and he tied died it.
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: He did his, he did his you know, his his,
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: so his soul die tied to it. He posted it
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: in the Facebook group. And I'm when I tell you
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: that when crazy we we we had no choice. We
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: had to clide. We had to clide.
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: So so you know, Ben, is that going to be out?
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: It's out.
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: We only did one hundred.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: We only did a hundred limited limited, only a hundred.
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: It's almost if you left. So you know, Bam, hit
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: the dude up. He's like, look, we got a collab.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: We got a collab. He collapsed with him. He made
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: it work. He sentenced the shirts.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: That's the power added value.
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: Yo, unbelievable.
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: And we only did one hundred and I mean we
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: got like thirty left and we only released it.
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: What, we didn't even do a big release. Shit, you
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: guys never even posted yet.
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: I'm still waiting on mine. We just put it on
- 1:06:20Speaker 6: the website. Yeah yeah, and people are just going crazy.
- 1:06:22Speaker 6: So you know, once you guys get it, you know posted,
- 1:06:25Speaker 6: it's only a few lefts, so now you guys know
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: about it.
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: But that was That was a dope, collector.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: And that's dope too because like you collaborate with other
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: small business owners and you know, people so creatives. If
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: you're out there, if you if you got some kind
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: of dope twist that you can bring our way, feel
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: free to try to reach out to us. Man, email
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: us d m us and you know, hopefully we can
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: we can work together. That's what it's about. To coup economics.

- 1:06:57Speaker 3: and gentlemen. We don't even got I say so much more. Man,
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: This was a dope episode for us. It kind of
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: just brought back a lot of memories, and hopefully we
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: can do a few other episodes about, you know, our
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: journey with Eyo University, our journey with marketing, our journey
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: with the podcast, our journey with YouTube, and kind of
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: you know, maybe like once a quarter we can do
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: an episode like this where we actually just open the
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: door and just give you our real life information of
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: what we actually went through, and hopefully that could be beneficial.
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: So because everything earned, man, as you're talking when you're like, oh,
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: the stories, I'm thinking about when we had to pick
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: up the merch from Jersey and it was like, Yo,
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: he's getting on a flight at six thirty. I need
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: somebody to drop Jersey go pick it up. And I
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: was like, I'm like, yo, I gotta go to school.
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: I can't do that. I'm like, yo, yo, bro, i'mna
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: give you one hundred dollars. I need you drive Jersey.
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: He's like, yo, six in the morning. I'm like, you
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: want the one hundred dollars or not. Yeah, it took
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: him like three hours to get there, but Yo, this
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: is what I'm saying. Everything earned, man like, and I'm
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: glad we get to tell the story. Yeah, that was crazy.
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: And the dude he got on it. He didn't miss
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: his flight, and we didn't miss our merching, and I
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: think we would we were leaving next day. I forget
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: we were going. We might have been coming down to
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: Atlanta with the merch. It was like, Yo, we need it,
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: so I need somebody to go get it for me.
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: So there's plenty of stories like that.
