  of ways for us as a show and for the various Industries and and geoms that we

  participate in yep that's true actually we've got quite a few favorites from the

  then I'm playing a bunch of other stuff and now I find out you've been playing

  and loving The Witcher you're holding out on me Luke game of the year I haven't played

  The Witcher in like two months but yeah I really I really started to enjoy it

  and then stopped playing it all right well Matt I'm assuming not to not to

  jump ahead but I'm assuming which 3 is on your list as well at the very top it

  is yeah my my number one of the year is definitely wish of 3 um I'm still

  playing it and if I'm honest I don't know if Fallout 4 can be
• 4:13
  on that list yet because I haven't played enough of it mhm mhm um I think

  Tomb Raider which I know it's ridiculous because it's so old now I think Tomb
• 4:21
  Raider though is definitely uh definitely in the top three and you're
• 4:25
  talking about the first one aren't you yeah that's right cuz I haven't played
• 4:28
  rise of the Tomb raid yet yet um I've still got Witcher 3 and full 4 to get
• 4:33
  through so yeah I'm uh I'm pathetic uh when it comes to well one
• 4:38
  thing is 100% clear now and that's that I'm going to have to play The Witcher 3
• 4:44
  oh you got to Dam if both of you guys are endorsing this as game of the year
• 4:49
  then I'm just an idiot for not having played it clearly one thing I would maybe
• 4:55
  recommend doing play it on easy I know it sounds it doesn't because after Witcher two I
• 5:02
  will 100% play this on easy yeah cuz it is such a big game and
• 5:07
  the story is great and that's what you're really playing for with The
• 5:10
  Witcher I find sure yeah just make it a bit easier on yourself yeah it's good
• 5:15
  advice I mean don't not too easy because then it kind of you know some of the
• 5:19
  other the actual Quest stuff can become monotonous but yeah you might be right
• 5:22
  about that I don't even know what difficulty I've got it on I think just
• 5:25
  normal I think I've got it on normal yeah but I'm actually wishing I had
• 5:29
  maybe put une easy just to get through it a bit faster H and if I had to pick
• 5:34
  another game um I would probably choose

  C5 just because I played a lot of that earlier in the year never heard of it

  um and when did that come out that was like 3 years ago now isn't it was it

  Jesus well and and beyond Earth I played a bit too that was that was very good

  not enough not as much as I'd like but I played that over the free demo weekend
• 5:57
  quite a bit but then I didn't I didn't purchase it oh okay all right so what's

  what's your number one wherever you want to start you it's been an interesting

  year for games for me particularly because this year I upgraded console

  right to the Xbox one so I was a bit behind you guys right so anything I
• 6:15
  started at the beginning of the year was still on 360 and I've only got between 5
• 6:21
  and 10 games for the Xbox one right and there was some fun stuff alien isolation
• 6:26
  and Mad Max but I wouldn't really say they're great games right sure so Matt
• 6:31
  kind of stole my thunder a bit by bringing up Civ 5 because this year
• 6:36
  alone no no no no this year alone I've clocked up around 300 hours of of Civ 5
• 6:42
  so it would be absolutely a Miss I've been on a lot of planes man on a lot of
• 6:49
  planes um but I couldn't I couldn't not say Civ 5 as as a game of the year
• 6:54
  because even though it didn't come out this year this has been the year of Civ
• 6:57
  5 like when I look back on my life as an old man I'm going to remember 2015 as
• 7:01
  the year I played S 5 for 300
• 7:05
  hours y yeah and then look closed runner
• 7:09
  up is Fallout 4 and I've been playing it just about every day getting right into
• 7:16
  it I'll admit I had this little moment yesterday morning where I was like is
• 7:21
  Fallout 4 as good as Fallout 3 no it's probably not and the reason is because
• 7:27
  Fallout 3 had more interaction and more of a story and and Fallout 4 seems a bit
• 7:32
  isolated a bit lonely and then it occurred to me that I'm not doing any
• 7:36
  missions I'm just exploring and so it's kind of my fault it's the way that I've
• 7:41
  been playing it so I went back and I've decided [ __ ] it I'm going to play the
• 7:44
  main story and I can do the side missions later and I can explore the
• 7:48
  rest of the map after which is what I did with Fallout 3 anyway so yeah I
• 7:53
  started playing the main story again and I'm back into it there's some really
• 7:56
  cool stuff I I was in a dream sequence yesterday afternoon that
• 8:03
  reminded me a lot of uh of uh Max before
• 8:08
  or after you got back into Fallout 4 that's right do you remember the dream
• 8:12
  sequences in the max pain games there was at least one of in the first one
• 8:16
  there might have been in the second one as well um and you got to follow
• 8:19
  dendrites to different parts of the dream well this this happened as well
• 8:23
  and it was uh it was pretty cool so you what's got really great dream sequences
• 8:29
  um is the the Batman I think actually Arkham Asylum had the best ones with
• 8:35
  Scarecrow oh scarecrow drugs you I never played that for much oh man that was a
• 8:40
  great game oh when scarecrow drugs you uh in that game man cuz it you don't
• 8:47
  realize that at first that's what's happening and the game just starts to get
• 8:51
  weird it's really good like it's a bit where you're running around and then all
• 8:55
  of a sudden you're in Wayne mana and I was like wait what oh that's cool and
• 8:59
  turn around and the door that you came through is gone and it's like what the
• 9:03
  [ __ ] is going on is the game glitched and then as you proceed yeah it was done
• 9:08
  really well sorry that do you guys remember that episode this is a this is
• 9:13
  a total segue but the episode of Batman the Animated Series where all this crazy
• 9:18
  [ __ ] was happening and then about 34s in Bruce clicks that he's actually asleep and in a
• 9:23
  dream and he realizes because he tries to read a book in the library of Wayne
• 9:27
  mana and it's just gibberish and he works out that it's the right side of your brain that
• 9:33
  reads that's asleep while you're while you're dreaming sorry neither here nor
• 9:38
  there no no no but I'm actually happy you brought up Batman cuz I've now
• 9:42
  changed my top three uh-huh

  oh out Batman in really right Batman was

  I forgot I actually forgot about the game that game was great I haven't even

  played it yet you have to play it it's I've got so many games Luke of so many

  games I know but you need to got no time well I bought I bought the new Tomb

  Raider on the same day as I bought Fallout and it's it's still in the
• 10:10
  rapper because you know still on the shrimp rack that's why I made play to
• 10:16
  play Tomb Raider before even starting I started to wish I I did that because
• 10:20
  Tomb Raider is definitely one of those games you can just play and finish and
• 10:23
  move on from and I'd still be playing it yeah it's a good it was a good year
• 10:28
  for games I think I think the Xbox one has finally got some games that are like
• 10:33
  are really good it took a while I mean [ __ ] it's like uh it's 2 years old now
• 10:39
  yeah can't believe it's so old it's hard to believe it is that old because I mean
• 10:44
  I'm no offense to the the little console but it hasn't had a whole lot of great
• 10:47
  games if I'm honest no no it absolutely was why I held out for not until
• 10:50
  recently yeah not until recently like you know Destiny was was very good I
• 10:54
  like that enjoyed that this year um and you know I finally got around playing
• 10:59
  Tomb Raider but I mean that was a 360 game technically reased yeah um and then
• 11:06
  you know until Witcher and oh and Dragon Age Dragon Age was was good but Witcher
• 11:10
  was better so Dragon Age
• 11:13
  I I I not played much of that at all Dragon Age just feels too much like an
• 11:19
  MMO with no online stuff I'm I mean I really would like to finish it but I
• 11:26
  keep forgetting it exists which I guess should tell you something
• 11:30
  you know what I mean like I have honestly I just remembered that I have
• 11:33
  that game cuz I was trying to think what else have I got on the 36 on the Xbox
• 11:37
  one so I just have everything I believe that yeah that's
• 11:42
  true except for a couple of sports games all right well so console of the year I
• 11:47
  guess for all of us is the Xbox one yeah uh although not probably not platform of
• 11:52
  the Year you guys most might be your laptop is that right yeah I think so but

  uh that's I've only got one game on the laptop so I mean need one yeah exactly

  right and that was your game of a year exactly right yeah it's it's it's in

  fact my MacBook has kind of become my Civ 5 machine you know I'm often tempted

  to look towards PlayStation but only because of Uncharted yeah and um no
• 12:21
  man's sky but I mean for me talk about that next time and until
• 12:26
  dawn yeah yeah until dawn playst does have a few good exclusives that I would
• 12:31
  like to play and I might do what what I did with the PlayStation 3 wait till I
• 12:35
  get one cheap and just buy them then did they they remastered The Last of Us
• 12:38
  didn't they yes yeah see I never played through that on the PS3 either I just I
• 12:43
  just forget that I have a PS3 like if I'm thinking about what to play I don't
• 12:46
  even I forget that I have it and I don't don't play it yeah I've been Xbox so
• 12:50
  long yeah I've been Xbox for a while I've been Xbox since I bought the
• 12:56
  Xbox to play Fallout 3 actually you know what I just realized a
• 13:01
  game that we played a lot this year when we got it was Mario Kart and uh and that
• 13:07
  I mean that's got to be on the list somewhere but that's a different type new game is
• 13:10
  it no no well the new it's the new version of it but um yeah we played that
• 13:16
  a lot um but I again I forget about it because it's not you know it's not stuck
• 13:20
  in my my my mind as like one of the games that I enjoyed the most but I
• 13:25
  actually did spend a lot of time and had a lot of fun playing it so honorable
• 13:29
  mention I guess to Nintendo I'm not going to give them a
• 13:33
  mention definitely not console deserve it do you ever Wii U uh no I'm waiting
• 13:39
  till they release Zelda right right right or any games on it really yeah
• 13:44
  well we won hours that's that's the only reason I have one have you heard that
• 13:48
  Nintendo probably going to release a new console next year God's sake are they
• 13:52
  yeah cuz the wayi U is just doing terribly so the new Zelda will actually
• 13:55
  come out on that console instead no it's still going to come out the Wii U I

  believe cuz that's what's being designed for what's the new one going to be like
• 14:06
  is it actually going to in any way compete with the Xbox One and the PS4 I
• 14:12
  think if Nintendo want to keep going they need to compete
• 14:16
  cuz the Wii you worked for them like that whole that was a good console that

  a lot of people did go out and buy yeah but the Wii U they tried to do the same
• 14:24
  thing look we're not going to compete with the big boys we'll make this and

  it'll be fun and then everyone's gone but I can just get something better
• 14:30
  that'll last longer and your games will be out yeah getting something better
• 14:34
  that'll last longer is why all of my relationships have

  failed they need to put uh their games on other platforms I think yeah just

  I've been saying it for a while just stop making consoles make Zelda for the

  Xbox Mak for the PlayStation yeah if they brought out a bunch of the Mario

  games for Xbox I would definitely play them they're great party games yeah they

  just need to go the way of Sega yeah yeah yeah I mean that's I mean don't

  build your own theme park well that's not what we mean yeah that didn't work

  out so well I think they they've got one haven't they oh probably speaking of

  consoles before we move on sure I was going to bring up uh something that I

  found on the internet today but then when I did a bit more research I I found

  it to be fake and I was really disappointed have you guys seen that

  fake Atari ad from the 80s with Stevie Wonder no okay so it's the Atari 2600

  and Stevie Wonder's there next to it being all blind and whatever and the

  caption is if I could play video games it would probably be
• 15:36
  Atari and I saw this uh listed as a real
• 15:40
  ad in I can't believe that was an ad uh BuzzFeed or something kind of uh list

  and I was like [ __ ] man that is great but unfortunately it's not true it's not

  real oh yeah disappointing that's that's some game talk uh

  films what was your number one film of the

  the year for me it's a Star Wars movie yep I Star

  Wars is back I agree it is a Star Wars movie and I enjoyed it a lot but it's

  I'm not going to it's not my number one of the year go man really we're we're on

  I I didn't go and see it first because I thought n it's not going to be the

  same but then I heard so many people say it was good that I I said you know what

  went and saw Mad Max I was like ah you know it won't be the same as watching

  Mad Max 2 when I was young uh people are saying it's good so we'll see and I got

  in there and it was just [ __ ] awesome y like it it was like I was a

  and just crazy you know just just bad Max it is what it is you know what I

  mean like it was just it was a really really great way of it just brought that series

  into the modern day like perfectly and it just everything that I've disliked

  about action movies uh over the last year or two like you know probably few

  years actually everything I've hated about recent action movies it did away

  with all that it was a classic classic action movie and it was like you

  know so good absolutely and they're making another one already aren't they

  yeah he's got uh I think he already had a script that he wanted to do um and so

  they are going to make another one uh soonish I think it's called the

  Wasteland here's uh here's my prediction here's what I really just hope they

  don't do right uhhuh Mad Max the whole point of madmax and we've discussed on

  this show before is that he's a mythical creature even within the world of these
• 18:53
  films right which is why there's no continuity between them there's certain
• 18:57
  details that are um and nobody knows who Max is right and

  I love that that's [ __ ] excellent and it gives you so much scope to go

  wherever you want with it right yeah arguably the most talked about character

  in this Mad Max was Charlene theon's character yeah and she was [ __ ] great

  right like she was a great character she can't come back she cannot

  no she cannot come back because her story is done but I can just see [ __ ]

  the studio whichever Studio it is that is going to fund Mad Max 5 is going to

  say well furios has to be in it she's a great character yeah and and I really

  don't want that to happen because her story is done and we need to move on and

  it needs to be another folk tale about Max

  yeah on IMDb and at the moment yeah it is the Wasteland the only cast member

  that they've got listed here at the moment is Tom hard okay oh good good good

  so yeah I hope it's not yeah can I throw out another film that I

  like that one and so I put it on at about midnight on a work night to just

  kind of watch as I fell asleep and then found myself staying up to watch the

  whole thing and then spending another hour on Google after that trying to find

  out all I could about it watching behind the scenes it is a great science fiction

  um it's actually I just realized it's the guy from Star Wars it is isn't it

  it's the one character oh and the other guy realiz the redheaded guy is the

  character of the general that Luke doesn't like holy

  only six episodes and they're worth watching six episodes and then there's a

  a like a film length one you should watch them first one

  seen that and somehow James one made that a pretty decent movie so tip of the

  films I I think my favorite uh Insidious one and two are really good um sorry

  what they called insiders one and two but dead silence was amazing which is

  the one with the vent dummy that kills people so good inside of used too inside

  actually do the robot Tech movie oh yeah Fu I'd watch a Robotech

  movie I really would watch that yeah it's been years since I've watched any of

  the one part of it that's actually quite good is the animated sequence featuring
