- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey everyone, Davey here.
- 0:01Speaker 2: My e-commerce stores have done over $ 270 million. Today I'm
- 0:04gonna show you a complete ClickFunnels walkthrough. I'm gonna give
- 0:07you everything you need to know, and then I'm gonna
- 0:09clarify exactly when I use it in e-commerce. If you
- 0:12plan on using ClickFunnels for webinars or landing pages, it's okay.
- 0:15I'm not just gonna show you e-commerce tips. Let's get
- 0:18into it. So for those that have been following along
- 0:20at home for our lemon scrub series, we're launching a
- 0:24cleaning product. So I'm just gonna come to clickfunnels.com. We're
- 0:27just gonna click try for free. They have a free service,
- 0:30which is always really good. Just gonna enter my details.
- 0:33So I'm just gonna start building my free funnel and
- 0:36it's gonna take me to a page where I can
- 0:39enter all my other details. In ClickFunnels fashion, they're going
- 0:43to try to upsell you. This is why the product
- 0:45is pretty, beastly, we're gonna go under my details. So
- 0:49you do need to enter your credit card details here.
- 0:53So once you get to this dashboard, you can go
- 0:55through these steps here. However, they might take you through
- 0:58some things that you don't actually need. The main panels
- 1:02that you've also got are up this top right. So
- 1:05this click funnels is where you're going to create all
- 1:07your funnels. This is around their email marketing tool which
- 1:11you might actually not need depending if you're using another
- 1:14integration like Klaviyo. This is their affiliate marketing side of
- 1:18things which you're probably not going to need either. Today
- 1:22the main thing that we're going to show you how
- 1:23to do is actually create a funnel. So we're going
- 1:26to come in here and click funnels and build a
- 1:28new funnel. It's going to come up with some options
- 1:31that you can go ahead and click through if you'd like.
- 1:34If you're really experienced, you can create a custom funnel,
- 1:37which will be a blank funnel. What I suggest if
- 1:39it is your first time is actually finding a funnel
- 1:42that you really want to build. It might be a competitor.
- 1:45It might be someone else that's just really killing it
- 1:47in the e-commerce industry. The one that I'm going to
- 1:49use as an example is shine armor. Getting an example
- 1:53funnel that you want to build is really important especially
- 1:56if you're not a designer. There are lots of things
- 1:58that actually go into a funnel such as composition and
- 2:00conversion rate optimization that as an early stage founder or
- 2:04not a designer you actually might miss. So by copying
- 2:07the layout of a funnel you're going to be able
- 2:09to pick up on all of those wins. So if
- 2:11we wanted to recreate this funnel in click funnels we
- 2:14could come into here and we could use one of
- 2:17the existing templates down here. Again, I'm doing an e-commerce funnel,
- 2:21but you might want to do something like generate leads
- 2:25or alternatively, you know, do a webinar.
- 2:27Speaker 1: So the funnel we're gonna use today is this two-step
- 2:29tripwire funnel.
- 2:30Speaker 2: There's some good templates in there and we can come
- 2:32down here and we can use this foodie funnel.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Click here, get funnel, it's gonna generate that template for us.
- 2:40Speaker 2: You don't actually need to use a template if you
- 2:42really understand how to use the editor inside of ClickFunnels,
- 2:45but as a beginner, I strongly recommend it. So now
- 2:48we're at this page, it's really important to understand what
- 2:50we're looking at. In the blue is the funnel-wide settings.
- 2:55So if we change something like this, it's gonna change
- 2:57the settings across all the steps of the funnels, which
- 3:01we have on the left here. So we've got the
- 3:04order page, we've got the offer page, and a downsell
- 3:08offer page here, and the order confirmation here. The only
- 3:11other thing that we also have is up here in
- 3:14the gray, this is going to affect this single step.
- 3:17It's not going to affect the full funnel like this.
- 3:20It's really important to understand that. So we're going to
- 3:22go into jump straight into the editor, the fun stuff
- 3:25and click edit page. And again, this is just going
- 3:27to edit the two step process. So we've got a
- 3:30pretty ugly page here, but it's got some great elements.
- 3:33All quick funnels templates consist of sections, rows, columns, and elements.
- 3:39And they're just nicely laid out there for you. So
- 3:42you can see these sections when you highlight over here
- 3:46and then come in and then also come in further
- 3:49to the elements. So basically that's the structure of what
- 3:53you're working with. It's very similar to a lot of
- 3:54page builders out there at the moment. So if we
- 3:58wanted to create this page here and let's always start
- 4:02with the top, we would need to, cause there's three
- 4:06elements here, we would need to create three columns. So
- 4:12we can come in here, And this is a single column.
- 4:15We're going to want to come into rows and we're
- 4:17going to create three columns and just drag and drop
- 4:20it here.
- 4:22Speaker 1: We could go in and delete this element. That's all good.
- 4:25Speaker 2: We can delete this as well. And we can add
- 4:28a new element. You can scroll down and find what
- 4:30elements suitable for you. We're going to add a logo.
- 4:33So we want to use an image. We're going to
- 4:35click on the demo image and get rid of this placeholder.
- 4:39To upload files in ClickFunnels, you're gonna click upload, and
- 4:43then we're just going to add the logo. To add
- 4:45the image, now we can just click that and click
- 4:47add image at the top right. And there we go,
- 4:49there's our logo. Now we also wanted to add two
- 4:52more images. So our product isn't made in the USA,
- 4:55so we can't obviously use these images.
- 4:57Speaker 1: We need to make sure that it's factually correct.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Honestly, for this example, it doesn't really matter. I'm going
- 5:02to click add new element, and I'm gonna add an image.
- 5:06Maybe we'll add, a, as seen on TV, let's say
- 5:10our product is, has made it. And then we're also
- 5:13going to add a trust pilot reviews, really pushing our
- 5:16social proof.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Again, we don't have.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Trustpilot reviews, this is just for the sake of the video.
- 5:20You're probably thinking this looks terrible. Now we need to
- 5:23format the images. This is quite easy within the editor
- 5:27of ClickFunnels. We basically just wanna make them all the
- 5:29same height. I'd say 75, it's gonna be 75 as well.
- 5:34So we're doing all of this within the native ClickFunnels
- 5:37editing software on the right here by just clicking on
- 5:41the element settings. Now we can also drag across this.
- 5:46and this so that it's sitting in a more applicable place.
- 5:50As you can see, now it's starting to look more
- 5:52like our example page. We can actually click on our
- 5:55logo as well and use the alignment tool, which is
- 5:57over here, click left to bring it across here.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Starting to look pretty similar now.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Another really important thing to understand is how to use
- 6:05margins and padding.
- 6:06Speaker 1: So we can click this and just drag this up
- 6:09and down We wanna bring the bottom up as well.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Now, one thing you might wanna do is actually use
- 6:14backgrounds to really make things pop. So we can come
- 6:17up here and we can actually change the background of
- 6:19the page. Right now it's this image that was part
- 6:21of it, but we can come into backgrounds. We can
- 6:24just use a standard gradient like so, and it will
- 6:26tidy things up a little bit. If you were to
- 6:28continue just working down this page, editing things and adding sections,
- 6:33you could create this whole page within ClickFunnels. You don't
- 6:36just wanna use the image drag and drop. You do
- 6:38wanna use the text editor for speed optimization. So to
- 6:42do that, it's really simple. You can just click on
- 6:44the text. Alternatively, we can change the whole element. We
- 6:47can come in here to the orange, click settings, and
- 6:50we can change the font accordingly to the default font
- 6:53or whatever we pick. So I'm going to go to
- 6:57Oswald and we've got our lemon scrub copy ready to go.
- 7:01So we're gonna come in here and I'm just gonna
- 7:02copy and paste our headline. We can use two text elements,
- 7:06probably not needed. I can delete this element And we
- 7:09can click settings. We can click on the element and
- 7:12we can really bring this font size down. Now we
- 7:15can also make certain things pop within the text editor.
- 7:18So we can come in here. We can go, let's
- 7:21say we really wanna highlight stain cleaner. We could do it,
- 7:23make it bold. We could also make it a different color.
- 7:27Now to change all of these elements, we obviously need
- 7:30them on brand with our colors.
- 7:31Speaker 1: So we can come in here.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Again, we're just editing that section.
- 7:35Speaker 1: This currently has a border on it.
- 7:37Speaker 2: So we need to go into the more advanced styling.
- 7:39Speaker 1: And we can change this again. A huge amount of flexibility.
- 7:42Speaker 2: The order forms here for this brand here, they actually
- 7:46don't have an order form. What they have is when
- 7:49they click through, they've got this bundle selector, which we
- 7:52can easily build in the backend of ClickFunnels. And then
- 7:55they click buy it now and they'll actually go to
- 7:58a checkout page. This is a common thing within e-commerce
- 8:02and something that There's a huge advantage of using something
- 8:05like ClickFunnels versus Shopify currently. People are able to therefore
- 8:09do what's called a squeeze page. That might even be
- 8:12like an advertorial. I'm sure you've seen them on news articles.
- 8:15They're the really spammy things, the clickbaity stuff that you
- 8:18go into and it's talking about toenail fungal or something
- 8:21like that. and there's a really good solution, and there's
- 8:24an advertorial. They are extremely effective. There's some brands that
- 8:28are doing huge volumes through these advertorials, through both native
- 8:31advertising and Facebook advertising. So setting up a squeeze page
- 8:36or advertorial information page, and then pushing them to more
- 8:40like a direct sales page like this, with a customizable checkout,
- 8:45that checkout page will be highly customizable thanks to ClickFunnels
- 8:49versus the Shopify native checkout, which really doesn't have that
- 8:52many customizable features at this stage. You can split test
- 8:55that and create huge optimizations. One thing that you really
- 8:58also need to understand with ClickFunnels editor is how to
- 9:01make the mobile view look good. Mobile is so important.
- 9:05It's gonna be 90% of your traffic. It's so important
- 9:08that some people are actually now just building their funnels
- 9:11on mobile. We can come into here and click mobile
- 9:14and see the mobile view of it. It looks pretty bad.
- 9:17This is definitely, again, a limitation. However, you can make
- 9:21it work. We can come into here and if it
- 9:23is a text block, we can click settings and we're
- 9:26gonna have this section over here which shows mobile size only.
- 9:31Speaker 1: We can actually change the font.
- 9:33Speaker 2: For this section for the mobile and the desktop will
- 9:36say exactly the same. There are limitations with what we
- 9:39can do this with so you really need to understand
- 9:43how to hide certain blocks on mobile and still make
- 9:48them show up on desktop. So we can click settings
- 9:51here and down here we can decide where this block
- 9:57or these columns will actually show up and we can
- 9:59just click desktop only. And now you can see it's
- 10:03desktop only and then we can come to mobile and
- 10:06it's disappeared. We can then redesign that block in the
- 10:11mobile version so it looks good. We could use, say,
- 10:14a actual just one image in a line and just
- 10:18plunk that on top there. Next step is we can
- 10:20just save this funnel and we can just come click exit. Now,
- 10:23if we wanted to launch this funnel, what we really
- 10:26need to do is set up a domain for it.
- 10:28Speaker 1: So we can come into settings. Now, if you have domains.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Already set up to ClickFunnels, they're going to be offered here. Alternatively,
- 10:36we can click add and edit domains. We can click
- 10:39add new domain. And now we have the options here.
- 10:42We can easily click choose domain here and register it
- 10:45within ClickFunnels. We can buy the domain through ClickFunnels and
- 10:49it would be one click and integrated, which is the
- 10:51simplest way. If you're only doing a ClickFunnels funnel, then
- 10:55definitely use this. If you're like me, where we're building
- 10:58a separate Shopify store, our branded store, and this is
- 11:01more like the direct response, which we're split testing traffic to,
- 11:05we're gonna wanna use our existing domain.
- 11:07Speaker 1: And we're gonna use what's called a subdomain.
- 11:10Speaker 2: There is a little bit more of a technical setup,
- 11:12but by having a subdomain, it's all going to be
- 11:14aligned with your brand. So for example, a subdomain might
- 11:18be offer, I can click add domain here and it's
- 11:25going to suggest that I add a CNAME to my records.
- 11:30Speaker 1: So in your domain.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Provider, whether it was GoDaddy or Namecheap, you can then
- 11:35go ahead and add this CNAME into that. If it's
- 11:38too technical for you, there's a lot of YouTube videos
- 11:41out there, but you can definitely just get a developer
- 11:43to help you out with that one. The next step
- 11:45that you will need to do to get your funnel
- 11:47live is just go into payment gateways. We're gonna add
- 11:50a new payment gateway and we're going to select Stripe.
- 11:53Going to create a new Stripe account and follow the prompts.
- 11:56This new Stripe account is going to be under all
- 11:59of your business settings, the exact same as your Shopify store.
- 12:02The other thing that we need to know is how
- 12:04to change certain settings so it doesn't seem scammy. You know,
- 12:08we touched on this in the Shopify episode. We can
- 12:10come into settings and we can go SEO metadata. Up here,
- 12:16we can change this. This is going to change this
- 12:19text here. If someone came onto this to buy lemon
- 12:22scrub and they saw foodie two-step order form, they would
- 12:25freak out and probably leave. So we can change this
- 12:27to lemon scrub offer cleaning pace or something along the lines.
- 12:35And you get the idea. We can change all of
- 12:37this if we like. The image is probably pretty important.
- 12:40We'd put something branded. So if it ever got shared
- 12:43on Facebook or an iMessage, it would come up with
- 12:46the correct image.
- 12:47Speaker 1: So people would capitalize on the offer.
- 12:50Speaker 2: The other thing we want to do is come into
- 12:51general and we want to we want to come into
- 12:54this section. So this is the affiliate badge, which is
- 12:57basically a, it comes up on all click funnels pages
- 13:01down the bottom, right? And if someone clicks on that
- 13:04and builds a funnel, then you're going to start getting
- 13:06affiliate commissions where we don't want that. We want people
- 13:08just focusing on our lemon scrub to buy that. So
- 13:12we want to click hard and we're going to save
- 13:16that accordingly. What we then need to do is integrate
- 13:19into something that can actually fulfill the orders. So I'm
- 13:23using Shopify for my main branded site. So I need
- 13:26to integrate Shopify so that can handle all the fulfillment
- 13:29on its side. So I'm going to go to my
- 13:31Shopify store and I'm going to go into apps. I'm
- 13:34going to add the native ClickFunnels app. So it should
- 13:37bring up this native app. We can just install the
- 13:40app and it should be now connected. So the orders
- 13:43that now come through ClickFunnels should be pushed to the
- 13:46orders within Shopify.
- 13:48Speaker 1: So you can manage them accordingly.
- 13:49Speaker 2: You still will need the email integration set up on
- 13:52your native ClickFunnels to ensure that you can get the
- 13:55abandoned cart emails. So we need to make sure that
- 13:57we add a product. So to do this, we can
- 14:00click add product. We can select our payment gateway that
- 14:03we set up previously. One time, considering we're only selling
- 14:08a physical one-time product.
- 14:10Speaker 1: We can set up a subscription.
- 14:12Speaker 2: If we wanna start sending Lemon Scrub monthly or weekly,
- 14:16but that's gonna take a little bit more design work.
- 14:20Speaker 1: We're just gonna call this Lemon Scrub 250 gram.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And we're just gonna go through all of these settings,
- 14:25populate them based on what our Shopify store is actually saying.
- 14:30It does feel like you're doubling up with this kind
- 14:32of stuff, considering you've already set it up in Shopify,
- 14:34but the place that we actually integrate it with Shopify
- 14:37is actually only on the last step within shipping, which
- 14:40I'll show you in a second. So I'm just gonna
- 14:42race through and enter all of these details. And once
- 14:45we get to shipping, we're gonna click, yes, this is
- 14:48a physical product and we're going to have our existing
- 14:50integration here. So we're gonna click lemon scrub and we're
- 14:53gonna select our product SKU that we set up in
- 14:56the Shopify episode and click save and next.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Now the product is saved successfully.
- 15:01Speaker 2: When people go through that order form is going to
- 15:03be for this product specifically. We can add images of
- 15:07that product to our order form, just like Shine Armor had.
- 15:10And we now have a more direct response sales funnel.
- 15:13One of the main benefits of using something like ClickFunnels
- 15:16is the ease of split testing. Shopify, it is still
- 15:20quite difficult to split test things within the.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Native theme builder.
- 15:24Speaker 2: You need to use something like Google Optimize or convert.com
- 15:27and do a bunch of stuff in Google Tag Manager
- 15:31to get it all set up.
- 15:32Speaker 1: ClickFunnels, it's all built in.
- 15:34Speaker 2: This is why a lot of people actually just use
- 15:36these direct response sales funnels to find their AOV increase
- 15:40and conversion rate increase wins, and then they'll actually transfer
- 15:43those wins onto Shopify somehow. All you need to do
- 15:45to create a split test is come into your funnel steps,
- 15:48click on the funnel step that you wanna split test,
- 15:51click create variation, and we're gonna create a duplicate page
- 15:54from two-step order. So this is going to duplicate both
- 15:58of those pages. If we wanted to split test a
- 16:01whole new page, a whole new template, say Shine Armor
- 16:05versus something that looks a bit more like Shopify, we
- 16:07could do that as well. We can change the amount
- 16:10of traffic that we wanna send to each variation, which
- 16:13isn't a bad idea if we already know that this
- 16:16variation is killing it and we wanna change a lot
- 16:18more variables, which could drastically decrease our sales volume. We
- 16:23don't want to take that risk, but considering we're just
- 16:26getting started, we might want.
- 16:28Speaker 1: To do 50-50 traffic.
- 16:30Speaker 2: This is going to clearly indicate the winner of the
- 16:32test sooner rather than later. We can click edit page.
- 16:36A basic rule of split testing is always test one
- 16:39variable at once. We don't want to change multiple things
- 16:42because then we don't know what actually won. An example
- 16:45split test that we could do for this is if
- 16:47I was going to use a sales video on the
- 16:49other one, I could actually just use a sales image
- 16:52for this product. So I could change this from a video,
- 16:56I could delete it and I could add an element,
- 16:58add an image and I could add this image instead.
- 17:01And now instead of the video being in that section,
- 17:05we now have this image and we can run traffic
- 17:08to that. One thing that you will want to do
- 17:09is make sure that your domain is set up before
- 17:12clicking start split test. You wanna set up that sub
- 17:14domain and make it look professional. If not, then you can.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Click start split test.
- 17:19Speaker 2: What happens is when someone goes to this URL, like here,
- 17:23it's going to either send 50-50 to both traffic sources
- 17:28and it will give you a whole bunch of metrics.
- 17:30These metrics are clearly shown in this stat section. It's
- 17:34all nice and easy for you. So you can see
- 17:37that where people are dropping off, the sales, the differences, AOV,
- 17:42all of those kind of things there. So the only
- 17:45other thing that we need to do to ensure that
- 17:47your ClickFunnels funnel is converting is set up email marketing.
- 17:50So I like to go to integrations and add a
- 17:53new integration. Now you've got all of these email providers here.
- 17:57We could use Drip or we could use ActiveCampaign. Unfortunately,
- 18:00there is no native Klaviyo integration. This is one of
- 18:04the most frustrating things with ClickFunnels at the moment is
- 18:07they don't seem to be very up-to-date with what e-commerce
- 18:10people need. So first of all, Afterpay isn't a setting
- 18:14which can cause huge conversion rate decreases versus your initial
- 18:18Shopify store. And then there's no Klaviyo as well. So
- 18:21there is the native email service that ClickFunnels does provide,
- 18:25which can create transactional emails and whatnot. If after watching
- 18:28all of that, you're still a little unsure whether ClickFunnels
- 18:31is for you, you can actually build a lot of
- 18:33these features within Shopify, which we have done for our
- 18:36lemon scrub product. I've actually just used the page builder
- 18:39gem pages for this. We just got a freelancer to
- 18:42build it, just to build out a little bit more
- 18:45information on top of the page. You know, we've got
- 18:48our comparison tables, we've got how it works and so forth.
- 18:52This still needs a little bit of work. The fonts
- 18:54need changing and whatnot. However, it is starting to take shape.
- 18:58You can see that there's more information on the page.
- 19:01We've got a better hierarchy of information and better images,
- 19:05which is super, super important. Gem pages also allows you
- 19:08to do split testing, which is great. Just like click funnels.
- 19:13The reason why I would choose click funnels over gem
- 19:15pages is I really do like the customizable checkout pages.
- 19:20You can do some really aggressive order bumps and things
- 19:23like that, subscription plays and so forth. So there's just
- 19:27still a little bit more customization there. I do know
- 19:30that Shopify is working on that you can actually split
