- 0:05Speaker 1: podcast on doctor show, Fucking Glendo?
- 0:17Speaker 2: What's day?
- 0:18Speaker 1: March?
- 0:22Speaker 3: Look good?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Welcome everyone to Major marks dot com the September Bonus.
- 0:29Speaker 1: I am your host. No, I'm not Danny from the
- 0:32Speaker 1: Last Action Hero toy line. What a nerd too? Danny?
- 0:36Speaker 1: What a nerd? Matt card Donut? What's up, guys?
- 0:40Speaker 3: And it's me Brian Slada.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I'm also your brucers show Smart Mark Sterling. Guys.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Oh baby, we did it Last Action Hero hold on
- 0:54Speaker 1: before we sat Brian, did you watch it?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Half of it last night the other half this morning? Okay, okay,
- 1:00Speaker 3: I feel like I'm back in college making my deadlines
- 1:02Speaker 3: by the skin of my teeth.
- 1:03Speaker 1: But I did it. Come on.
- 1:05Speaker 2: That's as long as you watched it. Thank you, of course. Guys.
- 1:10Speaker 2: How are we starting this?
- 1:11Speaker 3: No? I like to do this first. Yes, I can
- 1:15Speaker 3: go first because I don't have much to say. But
- 1:18Speaker 3: I watched the video which made me think I understand
- 1:21Speaker 3: why fair with me? This came out in ninety three.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I'm eight years old. I definitely did not see it
- 1:30Speaker 3: in the theater. I remember seeing the toys and the toy
- 1:33Speaker 3: rack I never owned a single toy, but I definitely
- 1:37Speaker 3: saw this movie because things were coming back to me
- 1:39Speaker 3: as I was watching it, like certain scenes and stuff
- 1:42Speaker 3: like the thing on the rooftop and him falling. I
- 1:45Speaker 3: just I have like memories of it. So I want
- 1:47Speaker 3: to say this was like a Blockbuster video night one
- 1:50Speaker 3: and done for me until thirty eight year old me
- 1:53Speaker 3: watched it this morning.
- 1:56Speaker 1: All right for me, I saw it in the theater,
- 2:00Speaker 1: had a lot of the toys. We'll talk about the
- 2:01Speaker 1: toy line later. But then I never you know, I
- 2:06Speaker 1: didn't get the VHS. Maybe I watched it on HBO
- 2:09Speaker 1: or rent different Blockbus. I don't even really remember that.
- 2:13Speaker 1: And I didn't see it again until I bought the
- 2:14Speaker 1: DVD and like whatever, DVD's became a thing like the
- 2:17Speaker 1: early two thousands, right, And then I haven't seen it
- 2:21Speaker 1: until this past weekend. I have a lot of thoughts
- 2:25Speaker 1: about it. Even as a kid, I used the Danny
- 2:30Speaker 1: figure as Matt Cardona because I was the president of
- 2:34Speaker 1: the new WWF with my bone crunches, and I.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Couldn't stop thinking about that the whole time. By the way,
- 2:39Speaker 2: I was looking at this kid, going did Matt have
- 2:41Speaker 2: that hair?
- 2:42Speaker 3: Did you have every kid Home Improvement hair?
- 2:46Speaker 2: Like?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that JTT hair. He's like a bootleg JTT.
- 2:52Speaker 3: But what I also discovered it through watching like a
- 2:54Speaker 3: video about about this movie. A big reason that it's
- 2:58Speaker 3: not like a big thing because it got absolutely smashed
- 3:02Speaker 3: by a little movie called Jurassic Park.
- 3:05Speaker 1: We'll talk about that.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Yes, yes, all.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Right, so for me is very similar, but I remember
- 3:11Speaker 2: being very excited for it. I mean so in retrospect
- 3:14Speaker 2: looking at this right, this is the weird thing about
- 3:16Speaker 2: nineties and eighties kids like the movies that we watched
- 3:18Speaker 2: compared to the movies that kids are watching now. Brosky
- 3:21Speaker 2: won't understand this, but I watched the shit out of
- 3:24Speaker 2: Twins Total Recall, Kindergarten cop Terminator two. Okay, that that's
- 3:29Speaker 2: eighty eight ninety ninety ninety one for for our man
- 3:34Speaker 2: Arnold Swartzenegger. Right, Twins is not a kid's movie. I
- 3:36Speaker 2: don't know what the fuck I was watching that at.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Six years old.
- 3:39Speaker 2: For Total Recall has boobs in it. I don't know
- 3:42Speaker 2: what the fuck I.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Was watching that.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Watch as a kid Terminator.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Two people are melting, dying and shot in the head,
- 3:48Speaker 2: stabbed in the eyes.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Toys movie and those toys. This movie has a lot
- 3:52Speaker 3: of guns.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Man, I'm watching that at seven years old. But anyways, regardless,
- 3:56Speaker 2: I'm a big Arnold Towartzenegger fan. You see the trailer
- 3:59Speaker 2: to this, Oh shit, Arnold copy.
- 4:03Speaker 3: It's actually another thing I do. I remember the trailer
- 4:06Speaker 3: and like anticipating it, like thinking like, oh, this is
- 4:09Speaker 3: cool movie.
- 4:10Speaker 2: And then, you know, as far as my memories go,
- 4:12Speaker 2: watched it, thought it was weird. Probably didn't understand in
- 4:15Speaker 2: my mind why I thought it was weird, and I
- 4:17Speaker 2: never watched it again. And I and I barely owned
- 4:20Speaker 2: the toys. I might have had one Arnold and that
- 4:24Speaker 2: I got it as a gift, and that's it.
- 4:27Speaker 1: So during my research I found out that this was
- 4:31Speaker 1: supposed to be called extremely violent at first, and it
- 4:37Speaker 1: was always a movie about Danny, you know, somehow getting
- 4:42Speaker 1: into an action movie and like knowing what was going
- 4:47Speaker 1: on because he was a kid who loved action movies.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Kind of it does kind of snowball into that a
- 4:52Speaker 1: little bit. It's totally different from the original concept. It
- 4:56Speaker 1: was actually Arnold who didn't want it to be called
- 4:58Speaker 1: extremely violent. Didn't want the last action hero figures to
- 5:02Speaker 1: come with guns, even though those guns all in the movie.
- 5:05Speaker 1: He realized it was a kid's movie. But he realizes
- 5:08Speaker 1: now it was a flat But at the time everyone
- 5:10Speaker 1: thought it was gonna be a massive success and stuff.
- 5:15Speaker 3: The stunts are next level in this thing.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I think the concept is actually, like really really cool
- 5:20Speaker 1: and I actually appreciated a lot more watching it.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Now, guys, I will say this, I think I loved it. Yeah,
- 5:29Speaker 3: I really really enjoyed it. It's a great concept. If
- 5:34Speaker 3: you're in on the gag and you don't take it
- 5:37Speaker 3: so seriously, you know that it's like a tongue in
- 5:39Speaker 3: cheek scenario.
- 5:41Speaker 1: It's awesome. I think I think things I loved about
- 5:45Speaker 1: it now, like where Maria Arnold's wife is like, don't
- 5:48Speaker 1: plug platter Hollywood, it's not don't play. Yeah, that was fine.
- 5:53Speaker 3: That was the one old eye obser who messes up
- 5:56Speaker 3: like regular phrases, like basically like he would do you
- 6:01Speaker 3: know it was killing me? Bro my me goes no,
- 6:07Speaker 3: then you'd be right back around to where you were.
- 6:09Speaker 3: That's that's not the man. That was that simple was
- 6:12Speaker 3: killing me.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Here here's my here's my whole problem with the movie.
- 6:16Speaker 2: It was it was a half comedy and a half
- 6:19Speaker 2: serious action film, and I.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Think that I disagree. It's never serious.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I think that there was parts where they really wanted
- 6:26Speaker 2: you to be in and worried about what was happening, I.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Thought, and disbelief, and they want you to get invested
- 6:33Speaker 3: in it.
- 6:34Speaker 2: But I can't be invested in it because I don't
- 6:37Speaker 2: give a fuck because it's a comedy. That's the thing
- 6:39Speaker 2: that's problem Mark.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But I also agree with Brian because there's no real
- 6:44Speaker 1: threat to anybody until they get into the real life
- 6:48Speaker 1: where jacksonar get shot for real and it's not a movie,
- 6:51Speaker 1: so it's not you know, a.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Flesh yeah for sure. At the end, yeah, there is,
- 6:54Speaker 3: for sure, there's there's doubt, right.
- 6:57Speaker 1: But that's it's so fast. Yeah. Everything else is like
- 7:00Speaker 1: the bad guy's names like fart, you know. Yeah, it's
- 7:05Speaker 1: a little too by the way.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I think that there was some clever I think there
- 7:11Speaker 2: were some clever moments in the film. I think that
- 7:14Speaker 2: it was a very interesting concept. I think that it's
- 7:16Speaker 2: a concept that could be executed by the right person
- 7:20Speaker 2: and the right actors and the right whatever the fuck.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I just.
- 7:25Speaker 2: There's two kinds of movies here. There's this, there's this
- 7:27Speaker 2: serious action film where we're worried about Arnold Swarzenegger and
- 7:31Speaker 2: the kid and his family or whatever the fuck and
- 7:33Speaker 2: whoever's in danger. And then there's this spoof of an
- 7:37Speaker 2: action film. Right, so it's basically partly a spoof of
- 7:41Speaker 2: an action film. We know what a spoof is. Naked
- 7:43Speaker 2: gun you've seen that.
- 7:44Speaker 1: We love that.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Fucking ship, Like, not that extreme, but it had that
- 7:48Speaker 3: vibe to me, Like.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I know, so just fucking have that vibe.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Pick one.
- 7:54Speaker 3: I thought they go to the real world though, so
- 7:56Speaker 3: that's kind.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Of and then when it goes to the role and
- 7:59Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't give.
- 7:59Speaker 1: A I love when they go to the real world though,
- 8:03Speaker 1: and you see armble as rmble that he runs it
- 8:04Speaker 1: as Jack Slator and he's like, oh, you're the best,
- 8:06Speaker 1: you know, like so many cosplayer but whatever he said,
- 8:10Speaker 1: stut double or whatever. And then the Jack the Ripper
- 8:13Speaker 1: actor is like on the red carpet. Yeah, I love that.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I thought the concept was was was pretty good. I
- 8:20Speaker 2: just think they didn't execute it correctly. I think I
- 8:22Speaker 2: was to wonky when it was wonky, and it was
- 8:24Speaker 2: like trying to be too serious when it was serious.
- 8:27Speaker 3: I will contradict myself and say that I'm assuming that
- 8:30Speaker 3: eight year old me. It didn't resonate with me because
- 8:32Speaker 3: I didn't understand it. There's no way I understood what
- 8:34Speaker 3: the fuck was going on. Like so in that sense,
- 8:36Speaker 3: there's not much of a kid's movie. And I don't
- 8:38Speaker 3: know why there's a toy line and things like that.
- 8:41Speaker 3: There's like a lot of toys. I went down that
- 8:43Speaker 3: rabbit hole too.
- 8:44Speaker 1: They must have been banking on this being I hit.
- 8:47Speaker 3: But it's all freaking jack Slators and there's only four characters.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I was we'll talk about that later. There's only a
- 8:54Speaker 1: couple more I would have included in there.
- 8:56Speaker 3: And that is really not right. We're gonna make Danny's mom.
- 9:00Speaker 3: I would have made the uh jack Slatter's daughter, oh
- 9:05Speaker 3: miss Veronica von.
- 9:06Speaker 1: There's also a out there of the animated cat cop
- 9:10Speaker 1: or tiger cop whatever that is.
- 9:12Speaker 3: That was a random like but even that was so goovy.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I loved it. Yeah, I loved it. I loved the concert.
- 9:20Speaker 3: That was very fun. Man. I thought it was cool
- 9:22Speaker 3: once you get it, because I eight year old me,
- 9:24Speaker 3: No way I got that at all. I just was
- 9:26Speaker 3: seeing explosions and like I took Mackenzie to Barbie, and
- 9:29Speaker 3: there's no way she understood it right. But it's a
- 9:32Speaker 3: visual spectacle. So if I was eight seeing this, I'm
- 9:35Speaker 3: sure it was just a visual spectacle with the stunts
- 9:38Speaker 3: and the explosions and the creepy looking bad guys and
- 9:40Speaker 3: the guns and whatever. You know, I think that's all
- 9:42Speaker 3: it was.
- 9:43Speaker 1: So making this whole movie, it was like done very
- 9:46Speaker 1: very fast, and then they had to reshoot the finish
- 9:50Speaker 1: because a test audience like hated it, and the students
- 9:55Speaker 1: still committed to get it out by the advertised date,
- 10:01Speaker 1: which maybe in retrospect they shouldn't have because, like you said, Brian,
- 10:04Speaker 1: it was basically had to head with Jurassic Park, which.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Came out a week before Jurassic Park. I saw and
- 10:10Speaker 3: it just got absolutely annihilated, which I saw dress bark
- 10:14Speaker 3: in the theater I think multiple times.
- 10:15Speaker 2: So yeah, me too.
- 10:16Speaker 3: There's the and I remember it had the toys, So
- 10:20Speaker 3: this is the exact same summer, if you will, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 3: So it's weird.
- 10:24Speaker 2: I actually think that I have a very similar thing.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I think I just didn't see it because of Jurassic
- 10:28Speaker 2: Park until the video came out, and then it was
- 10:31Speaker 2: just disappointed.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Like I saw both in the theater. But I had
- 10:35Speaker 1: pretty much all of the Last Action Hero toys but
- 10:38Speaker 1: not one Jurassic Park toy.
- 10:39Speaker 3: WHOA, that's crazy to me.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Actually, so I must have gotten the figures prior before
- 10:46Speaker 1: I saw the movie, because I wasn't like so in
- 10:48Speaker 1: love with the movie that I had to go get
- 10:49Speaker 1: the figures, right. I don't really recall.
- 10:53Speaker 3: What was the original finish, like what would have happened.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I'm not quite sure.
- 10:57Speaker 3: You don't know finish to finish, Yes, Danny goes over strong.
- 11:03Speaker 2: But yeah, took it back.
- 11:04Speaker 3: They take it back.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I actually think when they were like teasing that they
- 11:08Speaker 1: were gonna bring in like Freddy Krueger and King Kong
- 11:10Speaker 1: and had an elected that would have been really cool.
- 11:12Speaker 3: For example, I feel like I love This is such
- 11:15Speaker 3: a stupid thing to say, but I feel like I
- 11:17Speaker 3: love this movie for all in the way I probably
- 11:20Speaker 3: should have loved Ghostbusters. But that ship has just sailed
- 11:22Speaker 3: right because it's the same kind of not serious what right.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Okay, we're talking now, we're getting nuts here.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Why it's the same.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Ghostbusters was a serious concept with some jokes.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Mark, you sound like, no, I'm serious it's the same.
- 11:40Speaker 2: They took that very seriously.
- 11:41Speaker 1: It wasn't. Yes, it's so serious.
- 11:44Speaker 2: About the fucking ridiculous thing that they were doing. That's
- 11:47Speaker 2: a that's a whole nother.
- 11:48Speaker 3: This is the same exact thing.
- 11:50Speaker 2: This whole movie. They were winking a nod in the
- 11:52Speaker 2: whole time. Nobody winks and nods and Ghostbusters every line.
- 11:56Speaker 3: In the Bill Mury's mouth isn't winking a nod and
- 11:58Speaker 3: a stupid joke.
- 12:00Speaker 2: It's in a realistic way, in a way that he's
- 12:03Speaker 2: a smart ass human being.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Right, and then a marshapellow Man comes in the Texas City. Yeah,
- 12:07Speaker 3: real realistic. Okay, it's the same exactly. If you're in
- 12:14Speaker 3: on it, you get it and enjoy it. Same as
- 12:17Speaker 3: pro wrestling. Right hey, people watch us like no no ship, bro,
- 12:23Speaker 3: sit back and enjoy it's entertainment. Joe.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Of course, of course this, like you said, Mark, like
- 12:28Speaker 1: Arnold was having hit after hit after hit after hit,
- 12:31Speaker 1: and this one was just the opposite.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Also, speaking of Arnold having hit after hit, I think
- 12:37Speaker 2: he regressed here, Like, uh so Arnold.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Watches all the way after this, No, no, no, no, I'm
- 12:44Speaker 1: saying this.
- 12:45Speaker 2: He was so bad, Bro, Terminator two. Look not many lines,
- 12:51Speaker 2: very very stoic. Whatever the fuck? I think, you know,
- 12:53Speaker 2: he nailed that Twins. I thought, you know, he played
- 12:56Speaker 2: comedy role really good. This one. I just like he
- 12:58Speaker 2: was delivering the line like would like.
- 13:01Speaker 1: This was terrible.
- 13:02Speaker 2: This was like early Arnold. I thought he did terrible.
- 13:06Speaker 2: He is, at this point in his life really a
- 13:09Speaker 2: good actor. His latest movies he's like, holy shit, compared
- 13:14Speaker 2: to what he used to be. He grew as his
- 13:16Speaker 2: career went, obviously, as most people do, but this was
- 13:19Speaker 2: like a complete regression compared to the movies that he
- 13:22Speaker 2: had coming out.
- 13:22Speaker 1: In my opinion, I dug it. I love that, Like,
- 13:27Speaker 1: you know, I just love that, like Danny knew that
- 13:30Speaker 1: he was in the movie and knew what was coming,
- 13:32Speaker 1: knew what you expect because he watched action movies. I
- 13:34Speaker 1: love when they're in Blockbuster and he's trying to prove
- 13:37Speaker 1: that that Jack Slater is Arnold, but then it's Selfesto
- 13:41Speaker 1: Salona's the Terminator too.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that. I love That's all that. Winkan
- 13:46Speaker 3: Nashi made the movie so fun. I just googled did
- 13:50Speaker 3: Last Action Hero make money against an eighty five million
- 13:54Speaker 3: production budget? Last Action Hero opened that fifteen point three
- 13:57Speaker 3: million at the domestic box Office's real bad. It finished
- 14:01Speaker 3: with a global theatrical run with one one hundred and
- 14:05Speaker 3: thirty seven million, So they just not it either, because.
- 14:07Speaker 1: That's that's not a production Cross doesn't even talk about.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Like the advertising and promotion market.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Is usually double, so they probably counted it as a loss.
- 14:17Speaker 2: They count a lot of things as a loss for
- 14:19Speaker 2: tax reasons.
- 14:20Speaker 1: And then Danny is really not in anything else after this.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Yeah, what's what's up with him?
- 14:25Speaker 3: I don't know, No, he wasn't something. What's the trying mean?
- 14:29Speaker 3: That's the mom? What is the mom.
- 14:31Speaker 2: From She's the mom in every movie ever?
- 14:33Speaker 1: Right, she's that mom.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Austin O'Brien, he's Danny is forty two years old right now?
- 14:39Speaker 3: By the way, Okay, who's whole article? Whatever happened to
- 14:44Speaker 3: also O'Brian from last in here? He's married. Oh, he's
- 14:49Speaker 3: in My Girl too, okay, And that's mikeel two and
- 14:54Speaker 3: Micro I guess he's in Micro one too, and that's
- 14:57Speaker 3: it and a bunch of lawnmower Man movies. Hmmm, now
- 15:01Speaker 3: that we're talking about he's in the Babysitters Club in
- 15:03Speaker 3: ninety five.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Oh, there you go. One thing I didn't like about
- 15:08Speaker 1: last session here is when they're actually in the movie,
- 15:11Speaker 1: like when they go to the police station you see,
- 15:14Speaker 1: like the cop from Terminator two, and like why is
- 15:17Speaker 1: he there? Because he's an actor? It makes sense? No, no, no,
- 15:21Speaker 1: when they're in like the cop seeing in the movie,
- 15:25Speaker 1: the cop from Terminator two is in the police station,
- 15:27Speaker 1: like it's like cameo, but it doesn't make sense.
- 15:29Speaker 3: What I thought was that he's a heat actor playing
- 15:31Speaker 3: a cop, and he's playing a cop in another movie.
- 15:33Speaker 1: That's the world that they were in two.
- 15:36Speaker 2: But the world that they were in was movie world.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Right, so there's you're gonna run into many characters and
- 15:42Speaker 2: cameos and and if they had continued on like interesting
- 15:45Speaker 2: concept of like you know what other characters could they
- 15:49Speaker 2: bring back? You know, what would happen to Team went.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna contradict myself a tiny bit here
- 15:55Speaker 2: with with my argument. I still did not like it.
- 15:58Speaker 3: But if you did that movie.
- 16:03Speaker 2: If you did that movie right now, I actually don't
- 16:06Speaker 2: even think back then they they made movies like this, right,
- 16:11Speaker 2: So like think about Brian probably never saw you ever
- 16:15Speaker 2: see the Christopher Nolan Batman's Matt.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Okay, so you know the realism of that those movies
- 16:26Speaker 2: compared to like Batman eighty nine. Batman eighty nine is
- 16:29Speaker 2: little cheesy, a little cheesy, and then it just gets
- 16:32Speaker 2: grittier and real. Right, that's how they make movies nowadays.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Right, I don't like I feel that, I feel that
- 16:38Speaker 1: it can be done.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I don't think they can do it back then. They
- 16:41Speaker 2: didn't make movies like that back then. But if they
- 16:44Speaker 2: did that movie now, it would be really really wacky.
- 16:47Speaker 2: In this movie world. You would just know everything is
- 16:50Speaker 2: this is the movie world. And then it would be
- 16:53Speaker 2: so gritty and real in the real world, and there
- 16:56Speaker 2: would be such a dichotomy. And and I.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Just think they I never trying to do that with
- 17:01Speaker 1: like l A was all nice and then they get
- 17:02Speaker 1: to New York is rainy and ship yeah, like the guy,
- 17:05Speaker 1: I think they could kill somebody and nobody cares. Yes, yeah,
- 17:09Speaker 1: they were trying to. I just don't I don't think
- 17:11Speaker 1: they had spent enough time in the real world.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Yes, I don't think they did it enough. I don't
- 17:15Speaker 2: think that the country, the difference was enough enough to
- 17:18Speaker 2: make me.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Care because I still felt real threat.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I still felt it was over so fast.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Yes, exactly, that was over so fast.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Idea was fine, concept very I think they could nail
- 17:32Speaker 2: that movie nowadays.
- 17:34Speaker 1: But I even like how it started where you're watching
- 17:36Speaker 1: the movie but then it fizzles out and he's like,
- 17:40Speaker 1: I love I feel.
- 17:41Speaker 3: I was like thinking the whole time, like it's a
- 17:44Speaker 3: shame that bombed because like a part there's like it
- 17:47Speaker 3: could have been a series, like it could have been Yeah,
- 17:50Speaker 3: how many you know? Last? He again, you know, I mean.
- 17:56Speaker 1: He loved it.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I just I'm shocked. I'm shocked. I just open mind.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I saw there and the other ones I watched like
- 18:02Speaker 2: on a plane, like like you know, whatever the fuck
- 18:05Speaker 2: on my phone. This one I sat in my recliner,
- 18:07Speaker 2: foot up by myself, you know, fucking just watching like for.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Really really enjoyed myself, like death.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I heard his voice and I was like, who the fuck?
- 18:21Speaker 3: At first, I was like I thought it was a
- 18:23Speaker 3: Captain Picard. Oh my god, scanned off though, I'm like, yeah,
- 18:28Speaker 3: they're a British old actor guy.
- 18:30Speaker 1: You want to talk some figs?
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah, let's talk about the toys.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Wait, all right, So they come out Spring. I gotta
- 18:35Speaker 3: talk about Brigitte Wilson too after because she's just the
- 18:38Speaker 3: hottest nineties person, like ever, Hell yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Is that the sister?
- 18:43Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 18:44Speaker 1: No, his daughter, That's what I meant. You do you
- 18:47Speaker 1: call it? Who is it?
- 18:49Speaker 3: Bridgie Bridget Nielsen Wilson name Wilson. Yeah, Okay, she's married
- 18:55Speaker 3: to Pete Samprist.
- 18:56Speaker 2: By the way, she's in a lot of movies.
- 18:59Speaker 3: She's not really though, right, she was.
- 19:02Speaker 2: The Girl and Merle Combat. She's in Billy Madison.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Billy, I mean Billy Madison's like what everyone knows they're from.
- 19:08Speaker 2: She's high learning. She's a lot of movies after that.
- 19:13Speaker 2: After that they all Wedding Planner. Wedding Planner in two
- 19:16Speaker 2: thousand and one. It's a big one. That's kind of it.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I mean she has a lot of.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Movie must have like became a mom and.
- 19:23Speaker 1: She was two or three.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Every year she's ginger and saved by the belt, isn't
- 19:29Speaker 3: the bell?
- 19:31Speaker 2: Yeah she's yep, yeah, Okay, five episode, five.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Episodes, Okay, five episodes ginger. All right, So Spring ninety
- 19:39Speaker 1: three we get heat packing Jack. It's like Jack with
- 19:43Speaker 1: like this big yellow concoction like his shirt's kind of
- 19:47Speaker 1: ripped up. It's like, eh, I don't really need that one,
- 19:50Speaker 1: you know, I don't really need that one.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Then there's another Jackie.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Undercover Jack, which I don't even know if he's in
- 19:56Speaker 1: the movie, like this, like a bulletproof vests and a
- 19:57Speaker 1: trench coat. I see that. You squeeze legs and the
- 20:00Speaker 1: trench goat pops off. It's cool.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm looking at it.
- 20:05Speaker 1: That is terrible. This is one I like, but he's
- 20:08Speaker 1: in the movie like five seconds this way skull attack.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Jack, Like, oh dude, great figure. When I'm looking at
- 20:16Speaker 3: the figures, I went they made that. That means that's
- 20:19Speaker 3: how you know. They're like just reach and.
- 20:23Speaker 2: They just wanted Arnold and the pegs man.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Yeah, dynamite Jack Slater. I mean, this is the definitive
- 20:29Speaker 1: Jack if you bought one, that's one.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm pretty sure I had that.
- 20:34Speaker 1: And that's it, and it's it's a It's a great
- 20:36Speaker 1: toy from Mattel. The likeness on Arnold is fantastic. The
- 20:40Speaker 1: car is fucking cool. We'll talk about that in a second.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Jack the Ripper, awesome figure. I had this. He's got
- 20:48Speaker 1: soft goods.
- 20:49Speaker 3: I loved they what a great bad guy. That guy was,
- 20:52Speaker 3: what a great bad guy.
- 20:55Speaker 1: But his name is X swing and ripper because that's
- 20:57Speaker 1: his action.
- 20:58Speaker 3: It's like ECW, you say, left bang, Mike awes him.
- 21:01Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, swinging because he does the he takes
- 21:05Speaker 1: the fucking acts and swings.
- 21:06Speaker 3: And goes up and down. But he's really just the
- 21:08Speaker 3: ripper is his name.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that is a pretty great figure.
- 21:11Speaker 1: It's like, yes, Evil, I Benedict. I don't know if
- 21:16Speaker 1: he came out later, but I did not have him
- 21:18Speaker 1: as a kid.
- 21:18Speaker 3: And he was an awesome bad guy too. Man, he was.
- 21:21Speaker 3: He looked great.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I think he was one of the first people I've
- 21:23Speaker 1: ever seen who has tribal tattoos. He had him on
- 21:25Speaker 1: his neck a little bit early tribal.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Ahead of ahead of his time. Even having in that
- 21:30Speaker 3: placement on the neck is ahead of his time.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Good bad guy.
- 21:34Speaker 3: I thought he was, like, you know, besides Arnold, what
- 21:37Speaker 3: my favorite character. He was so good.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Let's I forget Danny who uh you know? That's fucking
- 21:44Speaker 1: me brings me back so many memories the President.
- 21:49Speaker 3: By the way, what's that comes with a grappling hook? Yeah?
- 21:55Speaker 1: I mean, and I had this min on card in
- 21:58Speaker 1: my collection today to this day because I have a
- 22:00Speaker 1: Last Action Hero collection that it sound on display. It's
- 22:05Speaker 1: not okay. There's the Evil Eye Roadster which I never had.
- 22:09Speaker 1: It's just the red like Evil Eye car. But then
- 22:11Speaker 1: the Corvette that is sick. So I use this in
- 22:19Speaker 1: f BF for the Hollywood Back Loop Brawl as Gold.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Which was like, now I'm thinking about it, I didn't
- 22:25Speaker 3: give you your flowers for that. That was a gall I
- 22:28Speaker 3: didn't know that that's what it was until I thought
- 22:30Speaker 3: this morning. That's really cool.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fucking like they went all in with these toys.
- 22:35Speaker 1: There's a big I might want to buy this.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Mistake sick. But back to my original point that was
- 22:48Speaker 3: four characters, right, you really mixed these figures into your
- 22:53Speaker 3: your fed and imagination with other ship to make it happen. Right.
- 22:57Speaker 1: They could have made the daughter. I think they could
- 23:01Speaker 1: have made the cat who the cat is unproduced? They have,
- 23:05Speaker 1: they had like unproduced pictures of it. I would buy
- 23:07Speaker 1: that on eBay and I searched for it. Oh wow,
- 23:10Speaker 1: there's supposed to be a jail place at all, and
- 23:13Speaker 1: there was supposed to be like way more Arnolds too.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Jesus Christ we have enough, Arnold.
- 23:18Speaker 3: That tells you I woult to flopped this one. God,
- 23:21Speaker 3: I kicked an oct on eBay. They had a lot
- 23:23Speaker 3: of them, and they all have these insane bright red
- 23:25Speaker 3: clearance stickers all over them.
- 23:27Speaker 1: They this giant like, uh police station would have been
- 23:30Speaker 1: fucking awesome.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Ship the uh, the the cop his boss that screams
- 23:39Speaker 3: at him. Yeah.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Rules, Okay, that was a pretty funny joke.
- 23:43Speaker 3: But the thing about it.
- 23:45Speaker 2: That like that is such a spoof thing. That's something
- 23:48Speaker 2: you would see in Naked Gun.
- 23:49Speaker 3: It was only in the movie world.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Bro, I know, but that it wasn't enough. I feel it.
- 23:56Speaker 3: You just get this yet it get a jack in
- 24:01Speaker 3: the leather and bet.
- 24:04Speaker 1: The rott Wilers would have been cool cool figures.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Oh oh bro Okay, that was like the first scene
- 24:10Speaker 3: that really like positive all stand on top of just
- 24:14Speaker 3: like it was not expecting that to be the payoff
- 24:17Speaker 3: and they're like a cheerleader diamond. I was like, okay,
- 24:22Speaker 3: like I get it. That was like the moment where
- 24:24Speaker 3: I was like, Okay, I get what this movie is.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Because to keep in mind, also I had did you
- 24:29Speaker 3: guys even remember that that was the concept of it?
- 24:32Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, I've always been disappointed with that.
- 24:34Speaker 3: This is how like unknowledgeable I was about this, Like
- 24:38Speaker 3: I didn't even know this is a real movie. Like now,
- 24:43Speaker 3: that literally was the moment where I would I like
- 24:45Speaker 3: chuckled and went, Okay, this is what this is, Like
- 24:47Speaker 3: I get it.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I I I love to think like when like Jack
- 24:51Speaker 1: Slater's like in his closet, it's all the same clothes,
- 24:54Speaker 1: like Dug Funny style, like all the same red shirts.
- 24:57Speaker 1: They're like she ped twenty eleven was Zach shirts closet.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Bro I don't know, Man, the Ghostbusters, let's throw that
- 25:05Speaker 3: out there.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I don't think the movie gets the credit deserves. I
- 25:09Speaker 1: do agree with Mark there should have been more more
- 25:12Speaker 1: of a threat except the last couple of minutes of
- 25:14Speaker 1: the movie. Uh yeah.
- 25:17Speaker 2: I think the contrast, I think the big downfall for
- 25:19Speaker 2: me is the contrast between the movie world and the
- 25:23Speaker 2: real world. I just feel like the real world there
- 25:27Speaker 2: wasn't enough of it. It wasn't gritty enough, and it
- 25:30Speaker 2: just did not create the stakes that you need to
- 25:32Speaker 2: make was gritty.
- 25:33Speaker 3: It was ringing all the time, he got in trouble
- 25:35Speaker 3: with his mom. That's enough.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I love to like bloody knuckles like like he was
- 25:40Speaker 1: getting you know, like there's a New York kid, the
- 25:43Speaker 1: real place else to go?
- 25:44Speaker 3: He hangs out with old man in a movie theater.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that's all fucking ridiculous, so ridiculous.
- 25:50Speaker 1: That's not a real worldulous.
- 25:51Speaker 3: He's a troubled team.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Yeah, my god.
- 25:54Speaker 3: They never say how old the character of Danny is
- 25:57Speaker 3: supposed to be.
- 25:58Speaker 1: They my early on. I'm not sure that did weird.
- 26:01Speaker 2: That was probably supposed to be six no.
- 26:04Speaker 3: One.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Thing I did love though, is that you like the
- 26:06Speaker 1: practical effects, Like it's old school like stunts. It's not
- 26:10Speaker 1: like if they made this today, it would be mostly
- 26:12Speaker 1: like CGI and bullshit.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Oh that stuff was unbelievable, some of the car chases
- 26:18Speaker 2: and the and the jumping last Yeah, it's insane.
- 26:22Speaker 1: You literally tell it was like a stunt double or
- 26:24Speaker 1: fucking dummy like lying through the air not some c
- 26:27Speaker 1: G I B S.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I did I did catch the stunt double.
- 26:31Speaker 3: We probably should addressed this, And I wish we could
- 26:32Speaker 3: pull in some of the boys he had to really
- 26:34Speaker 3: like get a true you know, opinion of it. But
- 26:37Speaker 3: who's the worst driver, Jack Slater or Matt Cardona.
- 26:42Speaker 2: You know, I've never really driven with Matt him driving.
- 26:45Speaker 3: That, or he's just going wherever, like like he's having
- 26:49Speaker 3: a conversation with Danny and you just see the like
- 26:51Speaker 3: the chaos behind him and they're no selling it likely.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Ship to the next down, but he's I can't like
- 27:01Speaker 1: really like reverse or parallel.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Park oh Man from New York.
- 27:07Speaker 1: That's why I left Queens Market of Ice Class. Yeah,
- 27:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna check eb right now for for I go
- 27:16Speaker 1: to eBay for Last Action Hero and see, like what's
- 27:18Speaker 1: been going for a lot of money? If anything, it's
- 27:21Speaker 1: only I did.
- 27:21Speaker 3: It's only that the fourteen inch in the boxes is
- 27:25Speaker 3: like you went to sold listings. Oh oh wait, if
- 27:29Speaker 3: someone makes like those, like I didn't go to soul listings.
- 27:34Speaker 1: I'm going to sold listings here.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Oh wow, do you ever see like I don't know
- 27:37Speaker 3: what they're really called, but I mean they're customs. But
- 27:39Speaker 3: like someone made like a oh wow, you hot toys?
- 27:44Speaker 3: Like a hot toy? Ask Jack Slater.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Okay, so when you go to sold listings eight hundred
- 27:51Speaker 1: bucks for the most expensive things, it's not looking good.
- 27:55Speaker 1: You can get the On June twenty ninth, someone bought
- 27:59Speaker 1: the set of seven figures and both vehicles.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Guess the price, Oh my god, under one hundred bucks.
- 28:06Speaker 1: To sixty more than I thought. Then people were buying
- 28:11Speaker 1: the just the convertible June six for one fifty.
- 28:16Speaker 3: There must have been I gotta find the I gotta
- 28:19Speaker 3: find it. The convertible is pricey price, there's I saw
- 28:25Speaker 3: it in a white box, so maybe there was like
- 28:27Speaker 3: a J. C.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Penny. Yes, I think it's like a Sears or J C. Penny.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Right, Okay, I saw that scrolling today. It's like a
- 28:34Speaker 3: plain white box that I think it comes with, like
- 28:36Speaker 3: it's kind of perfect. It comes with the jack you
- 28:38Speaker 3: would want and the convertible. Yes, yes, Oh wait o,
- 28:42Speaker 3: wait does Evil I coming with the car? That's another
- 28:47Speaker 3: another Evil Eye gift set? Yeah right here, Yeah, I
- 28:51Speaker 3: got right here and he's in a baggie. Yeah wow.
- 28:56Speaker 1: So like I I will display these in my new towurroom.
- 28:58Speaker 1: But I'm not gonna I'm not gonna buy all the jacks.
- 29:01Speaker 1: I'm not gonna get the Evil Eye car. But I
- 29:03Speaker 1: think it's a it's a cool fucking piece. There's a
- 29:05Speaker 1: piece of early nineties history. I mean, they don't make
- 29:09Speaker 1: toys like they used to, Like, you know, I kind
- 29:12Speaker 1: of love that there's fucking ten jacks. You know, I'm
- 29:14Speaker 1: over exaggerating.
- 29:15Speaker 3: It's a very nineties concept and the and the comparison
- 29:19Speaker 3: is always the Batman's right under a water night glow
- 29:23Speaker 3: aqua batman.
- 29:24Speaker 1: You know, yeah, I can I can only predict. And
- 29:28Speaker 1: I don't remember that. These must have been pegwarmers.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Every auction I clicked, they're like covered in clear and stickers. Fuck,
- 29:37Speaker 3: what does this one jack, the beat up Jack come with?
- 29:41Speaker 3: And the beat up Jack is weird.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Because like there's one scene in the movie where he
- 29:45Speaker 1: shot a bunch of times, but he takes the bulletproof
- 29:47Speaker 1: as he has like the bullet holes, but this one
- 29:49Speaker 1: he has like rips.
- 29:50Speaker 3: It should have been like a bullet hole. Probably trying
- 29:52Speaker 3: to make a kid friendly, you know, I guess, and
- 29:55Speaker 3: you're right. None of these come with guns, none of them.
- 29:57Speaker 3: And that was Arnold's doing. The the jack looks like
- 30:05Speaker 3: looks like it was gonna come with a gun. It
- 30:06Speaker 3: just doesn't because it has like a gun hand in
- 30:08Speaker 3: a hole.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Of course, it's like with this trigger finger.
- 30:12Speaker 3: They all do. Actually, now I'm looking at it.
- 30:16Speaker 2: You just get your g I Joe guns like.
- 30:18Speaker 3: The cop one like, look at his hands.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, there's no guns.
- 30:24Speaker 3: That one's ridiculous. By the under the undercover Jack calling ship.
- 30:28Speaker 2: If you look at a picture of him in the jacket,
- 30:30Speaker 2: it looks even insane. It looks like that Vincent man
- 30:32Speaker 2: with the fake suit on that terrible.
- 30:37Speaker 1: I was googling. I was trying to figure out how
- 30:38Speaker 1: long it took to make this movie. I know it
- 30:40Speaker 1: was relatively short, and I wanted to know because they
- 30:44Speaker 1: got the figure line up before the movie. So how
- 30:46Speaker 1: quick did they make these figures?
- 30:48Speaker 3: Oh? By the way, Evil comes with three fucking guns,
- 30:54Speaker 3: So I think maybe there was this personal thing for
- 30:57Speaker 3: Arnold or not come with weaponry like that.
- 31:00Speaker 1: According to Google, why did Last Action Hero fail? Last
- 31:03Speaker 1: Action Hero's budget was an estimated eighty five million, but
- 31:06Speaker 1: opening so close to Jurassic Park and poor word of
- 31:08Speaker 1: mouth combined to serious dent uh It's chances upon releasing
- 31:14Speaker 1: nineteen eighty three with Last Action Hero flap. Unfortunately only
- 31:18Speaker 1: to the time didn't agree. At least thirty years ago.
- 31:20Speaker 1: This month, mere weeks after Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park chewed
- 31:23Speaker 1: up the box office, Last Action Hero was Swortzer's first
- 31:27Speaker 1: pricey Hollywood flop after a string of era defining hits
- 31:30Speaker 1: book ended by The Terminator and Terminator two Insane.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Listen to this though, see here's some of the critic reviews. Okay,
- 31:40Speaker 2: here's the critic consensus. Last Action Hero has most of
- 31:44Speaker 2: the right ingredients for a big budget action spoof, but
- 31:47Speaker 2: its scattershot tone and uneven structure only add to the
- 31:52Speaker 2: to a confused, chaotic mess. Exactly what I was saying.
- 31:56Speaker 3: You're using a lot of big words right now, so
- 31:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna take that as a sign of disrespect.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Okay, all right, here's this one. Here's this one. The
- 32:03Speaker 2: director has to boost the realism of his staging in
- 32:06Speaker 2: a rather self defeating manner. It begins to look not
- 32:09Speaker 2: that he's having it both ways, trading on what he mocks,
- 32:13Speaker 2: but that he has painted himself into a corner. Exactly.
- 32:16Speaker 1: I never felt that way. Did play the video game
- 32:21Speaker 1: Myself is a video game? I never played it.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Oh the thing I watched said, don't even bother. It's
- 32:27Speaker 3: one of the worst games of all time. I think
- 32:30Speaker 3: that there's the graphics, where the graphics were pretty rough
- 32:34Speaker 3: even for ninety three, like pretty fucking bad. I like
- 32:38Speaker 3: another thing about what you just said. I remember like
- 32:40Speaker 3: the trailer and like an anticipation of this movie and
- 32:43Speaker 3: people think it's gonna be awesome. I just think we're right,
- 32:46Speaker 3: and thinking that Jurassic Park just slaughtered it. You know.
- 32:49Speaker 3: His Drastic Park is like one of the greatest movies
- 32:52Speaker 3: ever made, you know what I mean. So it just
- 32:54Speaker 3: absolutely like murdered this thing.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, did you see your research?
- 32:58Speaker 1: This movie was it probably the first to have an
- 33:00Speaker 1: advertisement placed on a space going rocket. Do you see that?
- 33:03Speaker 1: It was shot up into space and then there was
- 33:05Speaker 1: problems with the rocket and it shot up like once.
- 33:09Speaker 1: The movie had already bombed, so they wasted all his money.
- 33:12Speaker 3: That's rough.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Or there was this giant like inflatable like balloon of
- 33:16Speaker 1: Jack Slater holding on to take a dynamine Times Square,
- 33:20Speaker 1: but they had to take it down because it was
- 33:22Speaker 1: just as like the World Trade Center bombing. It was
- 33:25Speaker 1: like taste, Oh my god, it's just.
- 33:27Speaker 3: A black cloud hanging over this movie.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Man, there's a lot of action in Last Action Hero,
- 33:32Speaker 2: but the underlying story never ever quite works. I agree,
- 33:36Speaker 2: Roger Ebert.
- 33:39Speaker 1: I still do a sequel today.
- 33:41Speaker 3: I was thinking that too Arnold's too old.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Dand but like Danny could be like the movie.
- 33:54Speaker 3: That's the quick math of that Danny. I think Danny's
- 33:56Speaker 3: the dad taking this into the movie that.
- 34:00Speaker 1: He goes to get his son fucking popcorn or something
- 34:02Speaker 1: and then he gets suck to a movie and he's
- 34:03Speaker 1: like trying to get in the movie.
- 34:06Speaker 3: I don't want to need a big star because they
- 34:08Speaker 3: can't be the star.
- 34:09Speaker 2: I would rather them remake this from scratch.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Oh god, don't. I don't like remakes.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Because they because I don't think they like.
- 34:17Speaker 3: A modern day like sportsnegger type like movie.
- 34:20Speaker 2: I think that that you could nail this if you
- 34:23Speaker 2: have the contrast between the real world and the movie
- 34:26Speaker 2: world like way more evident, and the stakes in the
- 34:30Speaker 2: real world are way bigger. That's that's how I think
- 34:34Speaker 2: that this movie really nails.
- 34:36Speaker 3: For pretty big dude, fucking shoot shoot. Bad guys were
- 34:40Speaker 3: fucking out of movie premiere to fuck people up. I
- 34:43Speaker 3: don't know what shoots.
- 34:45Speaker 1: I don't know where. I don't know where your head's
- 34:47Speaker 1: at with this, Mark. I Uh, listen, I thought I
- 34:53Speaker 1: was gonna hate it. Listen, I'm not gonna go last
- 34:56Speaker 1: as you hear a tattoo by any means but I
- 35:01Speaker 1: I thought it was okay, and I'm going to have
- 35:03Speaker 1: it proudly in my display case.
- 35:05Speaker 3: I love it.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Wasn't the worst movie I ever saw, but I.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Love ever so much again that after we did our
- 35:10Speaker 3: Hook review, I bought Rufio, my favorite character, and I
- 35:13Speaker 3: put him out like on my miscellaneous shelf in my gym,
- 35:15Speaker 3: and I'm going to get a Jack Slator right now
- 35:17Speaker 3: out there.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I fucking love it. Shit Like, I would love
- 35:23Speaker 1: to do this as like some sort of like cosplay
- 35:26Speaker 1: to the Ring, but nobody would get it. You know
- 35:27Speaker 1: what I'm saying, And it's yeah, you just jacket. I
- 35:32Speaker 1: look like Hagman out of Page or something. I want
- 35:35Speaker 1: to be him for Halloween this year, wasn't that. I
- 35:38Speaker 1: don't think anyone would get it.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, who are you? I'm Jack Slater.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Oh remember the nineteen ninety one movie that bombed that
- 35:47Speaker 3: okay heavy Halloween.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Yes, you walk up the CBA. He'll be like, oh fuck.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Yeah wait so you had mentioned that prior. Now now
- 35:56Speaker 3: it's all kind of making my.
- 35:58Speaker 2: I never really talked to him about it. He just
- 36:00Speaker 2: his favorite movie.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Listen, everyone has weird connections to movies, like I contion
- 36:05Speaker 1: or what you would call guilty pleasure. Right, you can't
- 36:07Speaker 1: explain like I love the Monster Squad, like I'm sure
- 36:10Speaker 1: some people like there's so many people say, what the
- 36:12Speaker 1: fuck is that? People watching that? Like what the fuck?
- 36:14Speaker 3: Why do you love it? And there's clearly not people
- 36:17Speaker 3: that love that because there's what, no merch nothing, that's
- 36:19Speaker 3: a that's a rights issue. But they if there was
- 36:23Speaker 3: people clamoring, they'd get around that.
- 36:25Speaker 2: There is people clamoring there. There was a whole documentary
- 36:28Speaker 2: that is there is a whole underground world devoted to
- 36:30Speaker 2: that movie, but it's documentary.
- 36:33Speaker 3: It's how can they not because it's the Universal Monsters,
- 36:39Speaker 3: but it's not a Universal movie. I don't understand what
- 36:42Speaker 3: is it? What's the.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Rights? Like Universal? There was a deal that Universal let
- 36:49Speaker 1: them use the monsters, but they had to change them
- 36:50Speaker 1: up a certain bit. But now like you can't just
- 36:53Speaker 1: like make the figures because you need to get Universal
- 36:56Speaker 1: Monsters on board. I think you have to get multiple
- 36:58Speaker 1: companies on board to.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Do stuff about this in the in the movie and
- 37:01Speaker 2: then whoever, technically the company that made the movie doesn't
- 37:04Speaker 2: exist anymore, so who the fuck owns it?
- 37:07Speaker 3: Right?
- 37:07Speaker 1: I don't. I don't know if anyone truly knows.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the weird part of it. That's a movie
- 37:11Speaker 2: we could watch.
- 37:13Speaker 3: There's where there's a will, there's a way, and we
- 37:14Speaker 3: can't watch it because there's no toys.
- 37:16Speaker 1: There's no toys. Okay, all right, Well let's let's pick
- 37:21Speaker 1: next months.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Okay, I want to put forward Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.
- 37:24Speaker 3: I had, I had a suggestion, and I don't think
- 37:28Speaker 3: I've ever seen this movie, and I'm willing to watch it. Okay,
- 37:33Speaker 3: water World, God, are the toys like a lot and
- 37:39Speaker 3: cool ones.
- 37:39Speaker 1: I've never seen water World, I don't think.
- 37:43Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure I've seen like bits and pieces on
- 37:46Speaker 3: TV when I was a kid. I never have sat down,
- 37:48Speaker 3: and I never saw Robin Hood either.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Oh my god, Robin.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Is fucking awesome. You call it, you call it.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Rosky is an actual good movie.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Water World. Here's my opinion on aboth them. I love Robinhood.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Water World. I think it's a bad rap. Oh, although
- 38:06Speaker 2: I have not seen it in a long time.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Water World is like a I don't know anything about
- 38:13Speaker 3: it except that people like epically bashing it.
- 38:15Speaker 2: So I'll tell you this, water World is very long.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Oh really, yeah, let me see the run.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Let's look at the run.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Let me let's go to the sheets.
- 38:25Speaker 1: To this day, in Universal Studios Hollywood, there's.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Water two hours fifty six minutes.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Whoa, maybe maybe we can get another pandemic. We can
- 38:38Speaker 1: watch that one. But man, I was I was not
- 38:42Speaker 1: expecting that. In Universal Studios Hollywood there are still to
- 38:45Speaker 1: this day a water World stunt show. And did you
- 38:48Speaker 1: know that fall Angel Christopher Daniels like worked there for
- 38:51Speaker 1: like years while he was wrestling.
- 38:53Speaker 3: I think to this day you can go see a
- 38:56Speaker 3: water World show. Yes, and that's how good it is. Apparently,
- 39:01Speaker 3: Holy cow, I've never seen it.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Uh yeah, that part of the run time is part
- 39:09Speaker 2: of the problem.
- 39:10Speaker 3: What's Robin Robin? First of all, way longer than I
- 39:14Speaker 3: thought it was gonna be. When I clicked that shit,
- 39:15Speaker 3: I went, oh no.
- 39:17Speaker 2: I kept pausing it, going, oh my god, we're halfway.
- 39:20Speaker 3: I know it's too it's to ten or something, right,
- 39:23Speaker 3: but it's that's the eight minutes of credits.
- 39:26Speaker 2: But Robin Hood is two twenty three.
- 39:28Speaker 1: All right, I'll do uh, I'll do Robin Hood.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Oh baby, I think I think.
- 39:33Speaker 3: It's gonna cost any money, because I'll get all.
- 39:36Speaker 1: You know, if there's good toys, toys are cheap ten bucks.
- 39:41Speaker 2: That that's top.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Probably, I bet I'll First of all, I don't want
- 39:44Speaker 1: to watch a movie going into a thing, and I
- 39:46Speaker 1: don't want to like this. But part of me doesn't
- 39:49Speaker 1: want to like this. I don't want to buy the figure.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Well, it's a very serious. It's like it takes itself
- 39:53Speaker 2: very seriously.
- 39:54Speaker 3: So it's like I'm more serious. Good adaptation of Robinhood
- 39:58Speaker 3: like and who's the main star? Kevin Costner?
- 40:01Speaker 1: Kevin Costner. I was just gonna say later.
- 40:04Speaker 2: You guys can be honest and and be mean if
- 40:06Speaker 2: you need to. What do you think about having zombie on?
- 40:09Speaker 3: For No? Because they're all too horny and ship I
- 40:15Speaker 3: don't want to.
- 40:17Speaker 1: We can't put it on Patriarch put on only fans.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Yeah, to be fair, Kevin Costler is my favorite actor
- 40:24Speaker 3: as well, so.
- 40:25Speaker 2: He I think he might be my favorite, especially that
- 40:27Speaker 2: I now love Yellowstone. Have you watched that yet, Brian?
- 40:30Speaker 3: No, My parents love it.
- 40:32Speaker 2: They I think you Liz would love it. It's like
- 40:34Speaker 2: a it's like a husband and wife show for sure.
- 40:37Speaker 3: I just don't want to add shows to my life.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Arnold is my favorite actor, so it was a great one.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Mark just absolutely massacred his acting ability.
- 40:46Speaker 1: This fanastic and I think he's I think was great.
- 40:51Speaker 1: I have a great picture of Arnold me right back,
- 40:54Speaker 1: my dad and Ziggler with Arnold.
- 40:56Speaker 3: That's the only one.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's I ever met him. Oh I never
- 41:01Speaker 1: I do T two one day. There's some great fucking
- 41:04Speaker 1: not even like we'd have to exclude like Necka toys.
- 41:07Speaker 3: I'm talking at the time toys. That's the toys I
- 41:10Speaker 3: want to talk about. I don't want to talk about
- 41:12Speaker 3: modern day. We'll do two eventually. I mean it'll be
- 41:16Speaker 3: interesting to get into the weeds with that because like,
- 41:18Speaker 3: I'm kind of shocked there is nothing like modern ever.
- 41:24Speaker 2: I I yeah, I thought that maybe like Mecca would
- 41:26Speaker 2: make a one, but maybe it's just Kevin.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Cos making like Princess Bride stuff. Like yeah, we go
- 41:33Speaker 3: breaking news. Zombie has signed Christian Slater.
- 41:38Speaker 2: I know that zom that Robin Hood also has a
- 41:41Speaker 2: like a lot of people think it's lame, and it's partly.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Pe people think it's lame.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, they think costume is terrible in it.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Come on, what Yeah, we'll talk about it next month.
- 41:53Speaker 1: All right.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Well, I'm wondering if you're still gonna like it. When
- 41:55Speaker 2: was the last time you watched it?
- 41:57Speaker 3: That's a great question. Maybe in college, like when the
- 42:01Speaker 3: DVD craze was like a thing where you just bought
- 42:04Speaker 3: every DVD. Ever, because I'm.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Asking you, I think you bro put the kids to
- 42:08Speaker 2: bed one night. You list sit down, watch it for real.
- 42:10Speaker 2: Don't watch it in halves, watch it for real.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Yeah, we get some podcast that is something like I
- 42:14Speaker 3: would make her watch Last Action Hero. Yeah, certainly wasn't
- 42:19Speaker 3: gonna make her watch Ghostbusters. I should have made her
- 42:21Speaker 3: watch Hook even though I think she's actually had to
- 42:22Speaker 3: watch with the kids since because the kids love it.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Yeah, my daughter liked it.
- 42:27Speaker 1: All right, all right, we'll see you next month. Robin
- 42:31Speaker 1: Hood
