- 4:27Speaker 5: Yeah, it's three things you need to know you with
- 4:30Speaker 5: the Alabama Show.
- 4:31Speaker 2: We have a girl from Alabama that's on this most
- 4:34Speaker 2: recent season of Stranger Things. I saw this, did you
- 4:38Speaker 2: the thirteen year old actress from Alabaster?
- 4:41Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 4:41Speaker 2: I didn't know who it was, but I am very proud.
- 4:43Speaker 2: She plays Wendy, one of the classmates of Holly Wheeler,
- 4:46Speaker 2: so she was already in the first episode. In the
- 4:48Speaker 2: fourth episode, she will be on more episode, so keep
- 4:51Speaker 2: a lookout. But yeah, congratulations. Her name is Elise Lewis.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Congratule Lease. We think you're awesome. The Powerball Jack the
- 5:00Speaker 2: pod is now worth one million dollars. We need a
- 5:04Speaker 2: hook up. Nobody won Wednesday night's drawing, so the grand
- 5:07Speaker 2: prize rolls over to Saturday night's drawing. You can choose
- 5:10Speaker 2: the entire amount over thirty installments, or take a one
- 5:12Speaker 2: time cash amount of four hundred and sixty million dollars. Yeah,
- 5:16Speaker 2: I'll take four hundred and sixty million dollars. Please, yeah,
- 5:19Speaker 2: I mean to be fair. That's enough. There is now
- 5:21Speaker 2: an apple named after a Luda Chris and it's called
- 5:25Speaker 2: Luda Crisp. Oh, come on, Ludacrisp apples. A millennial orchard
- 5:30Speaker 2: owner spent decades on this project trying to what is
- 5:33Speaker 2: it that they do when they make their own types
- 5:36Speaker 2: of fruits? They breed them or you know them. Let's
- 5:39Speaker 2: say that they doesn't they cross a crossby across? You
- 5:43Speaker 2: got me confused? See now, anyway he's been doing this.
- 5:46Speaker 2: It's a relative. It's a new apple. You can get
- 5:49Speaker 2: them in sprouts farmers' markets. They say it's fruity, crispy
- 5:53Speaker 2: and juicy, just like ludacris be sweet things. You need

- 6:05Speaker 2: Laura, Good morning. What's your issue for Ask Alabama?
- 6:09Speaker 3: Do I tell my brother that his dog died? Or
- 6:13Speaker 3: do I wait for him to come home?
- 6:15Speaker 1: Oh?
- 6:15Speaker 2: No, Uh, that's why we do Ask Alabama. If you
- 6:18Speaker 2: ever read help, which are our best or if you
- 6:20Speaker 2: want to give Laura some advice? Eight three three five
- 6:23Speaker 2: oh one. Bama is the number. What happened? How did
- 6:26Speaker 2: your brother's dog die? What's going on?
- 6:28Speaker 3: My brother went away for school about four months ago. Okay,
- 6:31Speaker 3: so I've been, you know, watching his dog until he
- 6:34Speaker 3: gets back. He comes home in a couple of weeks.
- 6:37Speaker 3: And just the worst thing happened last night. I let
- 6:41Speaker 3: the dog out, like to go to the bathroom, and
- 6:44Speaker 3: the coyote got him last night.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. Look, there's hard stories that this will happen.
- 6:50Speaker 2: And I live in the country. Coyotes will take your pets,
- 6:53Speaker 2: and this is one of my worst nightmares. What did
- 6:56Speaker 2: you do?
- 6:57Speaker 3: I mean, we did try to find him, but like
- 7:01Speaker 3: there's nothing.
- 7:02Speaker 2: So the dog is gone.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Yeah, he's gone.
- 7:05Speaker 2: How long has your brother had this dog?
- 7:08Speaker 3: He has had this dog for eight years. Oh no,
- 7:11Speaker 3: I'm beside myself. I'm so sick to my stomach. I
- 7:14Speaker 3: don't know what to do.
- 7:15Speaker 2: How is your brother, Like, what's his mental health?
- 7:18Speaker 4: Like?
- 7:19Speaker 3: My brother has had a rough few months, and honestly,
- 7:23Speaker 3: his mental health hasn't been great. Okay, so I'm really
- 7:27Speaker 3: scared of what telling him about his dog will do
- 7:30Speaker 3: to him.
- 7:30Speaker 6: Absolutely tell him now, well he's far away and alone,
- 7:36Speaker 6: or do I wait until he's home so we can
- 7:40Speaker 6: be there to support him.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Okay, all of always exam week at school for him.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I genuinely just don't know what to do.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Producer Blake, what would you do? Would you wait to
- 7:48Speaker 2: tell somebody, your brother or your sister that their dog
- 7:51Speaker 2: goed un till they got home? I already know you
- 7:53Speaker 2: would wait. You would wait, wouldn't you? Because you didn't
- 7:55Speaker 2: even tell your girlfriend he almost lost her ring a
- 7:57Speaker 2: couple of weeks ago. Well, it's better to be like
- 8:00Speaker 2: he was just here, like you got it. I don't
- 8:03Speaker 2: want to cause an issue, especially if he's in the
- 8:05Speaker 2: wrong mind set. No, I would want to know exactly
- 8:08Speaker 2: right then. That way I would know what I'm coming
- 8:10Speaker 2: home to instead of like all excited to come home
- 8:13Speaker 2: and see my dog and then I get there and
- 8:14Speaker 2: it's dead. Call the show eight three three five oh one,
- 8:18Speaker 2: Bama is the number. That's eight three three five oh

- 8:45Speaker 2: would you do? Would you tell the person now or
- 8:47Speaker 2: would you wait till they got home?
- 8:49Speaker 4: I told him so it happened to me about three
- 8:51Speaker 4: years ago. What happened at was going to visit He

- 9:07Speaker 4: And she said, to be best of letters, let her know.
- 9:11Speaker 4: And of course she requested us to go ahead and
- 9:13Speaker 4: bury him. And we an older dog, and he just
- 9:17Speaker 4: was gone one afternoon when I come into work from
- 9:19Speaker 4: work to check on him.
- 9:20Speaker 2: That is all. I hate that, Like that is my
- 9:23Speaker 2: worst nightmare. If I'm ever pet sitting, and I pet
- 9:26Speaker 2: sit for people all the time. No way.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Yes, it was so scary and sad. I was like
- 9:32Speaker 4: I could tell when I walked in her house that
- 9:34Speaker 4: he was dead, and I was just like, oh my gosh,
- 9:38Speaker 4: what do I do? So I had to evaluate, But
- 9:42Speaker 4: she understood, when you.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Buried him, did you have a whole funeral. Did you
- 9:45Speaker 2: say words over him?
- 9:47Speaker 4: Yes, of course we did. He wasn't a small dog,
- 9:52Speaker 4: so it was like a whole group thing. We had
- 9:55Speaker 4: to do a big hole. We were just discussing this
- 9:57Speaker 4: ironically last night at dinner.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Wild Well, bless you. You're a great friend for having
- 10:03Speaker 2: a funeral for your friend's dog.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Yes, thanks for colling, Jennifer.

- 10:28Speaker 2: for college doing exams. He'll be home in two weeks.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Should she wait till he gets back? Eight three three
- 10:34Speaker 2: five I one Bama is the number. Anna, Good morning.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Has this ever happened to you?
- 10:38Speaker 4: Well, you know she's a better sibling than my siblings
- 10:41Speaker 4: work because my brother definitely told me that my gold
- 10:44Speaker 4: fish swam upstate.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Oh how old were you?
- 10:54Speaker 4: I was probably like eight or nine at the time.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I was twenty four. What really happened is your gold
- 11:00Speaker 2: fish swam down the toilet drain.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I'm not even.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Sure that he was knock enough to put it down
- 11:05Speaker 4: the toilet drain. He was a pretty sadistic bullsucker.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Well, Hannah for Morris, tell me more about your childhood trauma.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Oh, I have plenty, so much time you got no
- 11:15Speaker 4: not enough.
- 11:17Speaker 2: I'm glad we could bring you a little bit of
- 11:19Speaker 2: joy through reminiscing with your trauma.
- 11:21Speaker 4: I do miss Goldie, so think about him very often.
- 11:24Speaker 2: That's great. Hey, at least your goldfish has a better name, Goldie.
- 11:27Speaker 2: My grandmother's neighbor named his goldfish Charter Sauce.
- 11:30Speaker 3: That's a choice.
- 11:32Speaker 2: It is a choice, Anna, I love you. Thank you
- 11:35Speaker 2: for choosing us always.
- 11:38Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I just want you to know. You have more time
- 11:43Speaker 2: to submit for Alabama's Polite Porch pirates, where we could
- 11:46Speaker 2: show up at your front porch and give you gifts
- 11:49Speaker 2: if you want to nominate somebody. I've been going through
- 11:51Speaker 2: the nominations. We call. We're going to deliver something to
- 11:55Speaker 2: somebody next week, and we have talked to him. I
- 11:57Speaker 2: don't want to tell too much about the story, but
- 11:59Speaker 2: oh going to get you.
- 12:00Speaker 3: It'll hit.
- 12:01Speaker 2: It's good. So the Alabama show dot com if you
- 12:03Speaker 2: would like to submit somebody who needs a little extra
- 12:06Speaker 2: Christmas chere in their life. Snoop Dogg was named Team
- 12:10Speaker 2: USA's first honorary coach for the twenty twenty six Winter
- 12:13Speaker 2: Olympics at Milano, Cortina Olympic Winter Games. Snoop Dogg, let
- 12:18Speaker 2: me tell you how he made the announcement. He made
- 12:20Speaker 2: the announcement on his LinkedIn page. On his LinkedIn page,
- 12:25Speaker 2: he hapitated. So I don't know what's more shocking that
- 12:28Speaker 2: Snoop Dogg is an honorary Olympic coach or that he
- 12:30Speaker 2: has a LinkedIn I was.
- 12:32Speaker 1: About to say, does he need a LinkedIn? I don't know.
- 12:36Speaker 2: He had to add that to his resume. So congrat
- 12:39Speaker 2: Snoop Dogg. We love you. And Sabrina Carpenter says one
- 12:43Speaker 2: of the keys to writing a hit song is to
- 12:45Speaker 2: call men stupid. Well, I mean that's her formula. I guess.
- 12:48Speaker 2: I mean there's work for her. She was named Hit
- 12:52Speaker 2: Maker of the Year by Variety, and while accepting the award,
- 12:54Speaker 2: she said, first of all, do not try to write
- 12:56Speaker 2: a hit, because that's the easiest way to write a
- 12:58Speaker 2: bad song. But if you want it to be a
- 13:00Speaker 2: good song. Call me in stupid in as many ways
- 13:03Speaker 2: as you can, and there you go. Thanks, Sabrina, You're stupid.
- 13:08Speaker 2: How does that song go? Come on, she's your girl.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I don't want anymore now I'm hurt.
- 13:14Speaker 2: That's three things you need to know. More at the
- 13:17Speaker 2: Alabamashow dot.

- 13:24Speaker 2: Three three five, Obama is the number to call the show. Pauline,
- 13:27Speaker 2: good morning. Do you have good news? Yes? I have
- 13:29Speaker 2: good news. What's your good news? My son was his
- 13:32Speaker 2: wrestling tournament this weekend? Yes? How stressful is it watching
- 13:38Speaker 2: your son Wressell? I was very sure. Are you are
- 13:42Speaker 2: you like a sideline mom that's right up there yelling
- 13:45Speaker 2: or do you stay back and you're like, oh I
- 13:47Speaker 2: can't walk, I can't look.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Oh no, I'm up there yelling and video yelling and.
- 13:51Speaker 2: That is great. How old is your son? Fourteen?
- 13:55Speaker 4: Oh?
- 13:55Speaker 2: Girl? Yes, well that is awesome. When's the next match?
- 14:00Speaker 2: We just have one last night. And when that one too?
- 14:02Speaker 1: Oh?
- 14:02Speaker 2: Hecke you look?
- 14:06Speaker 5: Are you?
- 14:06Speaker 2: Are you talking quiet? Because you're hiding at work trying
- 14:10Speaker 2: to sneak and call the radio station. Okay, well that's
- 14:15Speaker 2: that's another airhorn. I have a good day at work, Pauline.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Thank you for sharing. That's great news.
- 14:23Speaker 5: Thanks The Alabama Show on demand free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I need your help because I have a new job
- 14:29Speaker 2: and I don't know how to handle it. What is it?
- 14:32Speaker 2: What's the job? By the way, thank you for listening
- 14:36Speaker 2: to The Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with producer Blake's Yesterday.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I'm on the board of the Addiction Prevention Coalition, which
- 14:44Speaker 2: is a great nonprofit that does a lot of things
- 14:46Speaker 2: in the community for people struggling with addiction. They help
- 14:49Speaker 2: people in recovery and people who are in addiction to
- 14:52Speaker 2: get out of addiction. Yes, correct, So I'm on the board.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I have never been on a board until like a
- 14:57Speaker 2: few months ago. They put me on the board and
- 14:59Speaker 2: I I was at a meeting yesterday mm hmm. And
- 15:03Speaker 2: we go through the minutes. Have you ever like it's
- 15:05Speaker 2: like official. They have somebody that does the minutes. Somebody
- 15:09Speaker 2: goes motion to approve this, and somebody says motion to approve,
- 15:13Speaker 2: and then somebody has to say second, and then everybody
- 15:15Speaker 2: says I and then that go. Does anybody have any
- 15:18Speaker 2: you know, yeah, no, I've been in those meetings. Go ahead.
- 15:20Speaker 2: So the guy we get to the part about funding, okay,
- 15:26Speaker 2: and he goes, I'm gonna step down for being head
- 15:29Speaker 2: of the fund committee. And the whole time I thought
- 15:32Speaker 2: he was saying fun committee, think he was saying fund
- 15:38Speaker 2: And he goes, if anybody would like to volunteer to
- 15:41Speaker 2: step up and take over, or if you want to
- 15:43Speaker 2: think about it and message just after the meeting let
- 15:45Speaker 2: us know or you know, and then he looks at
- 15:47Speaker 2: me goes, Alabama, if you want to do it, and
- 15:49Speaker 2: I'm like uh, And then the girl next to me
- 15:51Speaker 2: is like, I'll do it too, and I was like, well,
- 15:53Speaker 2: I was about to say yeah, and they were like great, Coachair,
- 15:55Speaker 2: y'all are co chairs of the fund committee. Fund. I
- 15:59Speaker 2: thought that they said fun. You thought the addiction thing
- 16:03Speaker 2: you had a fun commitity. I was gonna be in
- 16:06Speaker 2: charge of the fun committee. What would the fun committee
- 16:09Speaker 2: be for this? Have fun sober. That's a great thing
- 16:13Speaker 2: to help people, just like there's how to learn how
- 16:17Speaker 2: to have fun sober. Looks like you're funding a new
- 16:19Speaker 2: department for the now I'm like and I was like, yeah,
- 16:23Speaker 2: I'll do it, and then I'm like, I don't know
- 16:26Speaker 2: what to do. This is so important, and you know me,
- 16:28Speaker 2: there's how do you how do you sign up for
- 16:31Speaker 2: a job that you didn't even know you were something
- 16:34Speaker 2: said fun? Look and then and look, this is a
- 16:36Speaker 2: very important cause to me, because if you've listened to
- 16:38Speaker 2: the show long enough, you know I lost my mom
- 16:40Speaker 2: to addiction six years ago, so it really is important
- 16:43Speaker 2: to me. So it's to help funding for the nonprofit.
- 16:45Speaker 2: So I'm gonna help, Like I'm helping set up there.
- 16:48Speaker 2: We're gonna do a gala in the fall, and I'm
- 16:50Speaker 2: gonna help set that up together. So you'll hear me
