- 1:08Speaker 2: Back, whatever.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Brother. Yeah, it's been a minute.
- 1:11Speaker 2: You got a new album out that you and Austin
- 1:13Speaker 2: worked on together.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Yep, shout out my boy Austin Sexton and Ot the Undefeated.
- 1:19Speaker 4: They produced. The whole album is called.
- 1:20Speaker 1: OHI Yeah, this guy Austin is like an alien. Huh
- 1:25Speaker 1: could do it all man, kind of crazy.
- 1:27Speaker 3: I didn't even know he had the bag that he
- 1:29Speaker 3: went into on this one as far as like the production,
- 1:33Speaker 3: like the sampling and all that. When you meet him
- 1:36Speaker 3: and you know he could do pop records and all
- 1:38Speaker 3: that stuff. Him seeing him on that kind of vibe
- 1:41Speaker 3: is definitely a switch up.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Yeah, how many albums out do you have altogether?
- 1:46Speaker 2: Now?
- 1:47Speaker 3: I counted, bro, it's like thirty thirty albums. Thirty albums
- 1:52Speaker 3: when you're like.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Well, it's crazy too because you always like like you're
- 1:55Speaker 1: obviously you've been independent pretty much your whole career.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yeah, so I wonder like because I feel like some
- 2:02Speaker 1: artists don't kind of understand, like catalog is like, really.
- 2:06Speaker 4: What keeps the lights on exactly?
- 2:08Speaker 1: If you got thirty albums, man, it's like all that
- 2:11Speaker 1: shit adds up every month, right, it definitely does.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Yeah, hell yeah, you know, catalog I think even when
- 2:18Speaker 3: I realized that that because before that, right, it was
- 2:22Speaker 3: all blog era shit. Right, It's like it was just
- 2:24Speaker 3: putting it out for free, trying to catch some some
- 2:27Speaker 3: vibe and then a label might sign it, right uh,
- 2:30Speaker 3: And a lot of people that were in that era
- 2:32Speaker 3: didn't make it out of that era, you know. So
- 2:34Speaker 3: the ability to you know, first put your shit on
- 2:38Speaker 3: iTunes made a difference, and then when streaming happened, that's
- 2:44Speaker 3: started to bring the hustle mentality out of.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Me, right right?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Right? Do you feel like because I feel like there
- 2:52Speaker 1: is like a hustle to being an independent rapper. You
- 2:54Speaker 1: have so many different like things You're part of you
- 2:57Speaker 1: and dizzy you and h hop a y obviously the
- 3:00Speaker 1: serial killer shit?
- 3:02Speaker 2: Is it?
- 3:02Speaker 1: Like do you kind of have to have your hand
- 3:05Speaker 1: in a bunch of different pots musically, like to really
- 3:07Speaker 1: kind of like because I feel like there's so many
- 3:09Speaker 1: independent artists or talented but just can't fucking make enough
- 3:12Speaker 1: money to keep it.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Going, just to keep it going.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean I think early on because you remember,
- 3:17Speaker 3: like even when you met me the first time, like
- 3:20Speaker 3: I was featured on b Reel's album, and I was
- 3:23Speaker 3: hype manning, right, So I realized, I think the very
- 3:27Speaker 3: first check I got in music or money wise from
- 3:30Speaker 3: music was going out as a hype man, right, and
- 3:33Speaker 3: then being featured on records and then a songwriter. And
- 3:37Speaker 3: then you know, it was a while, like I said,
- 3:39Speaker 3: before music was even being sold, during the time when
- 3:42Speaker 3: I was really catching my opportunities as far as like
- 3:46Speaker 3: the blog era is what I'm saying.
- 3:47Speaker 4: So yeah, I did it all.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I still do a lot of shit, Like when I
- 3:51Speaker 3: seen that you could give money and like doing shit
- 3:54Speaker 3: for TV and film and sync placements and all that stuff.
- 3:57Speaker 3: And I realized, like if I just kept feeding and
- 4:00Speaker 3: my fans, they would be the ones that turn into
- 4:03Speaker 3: they'll be promote for me.
- 4:06Speaker 4: So just strengthen numbers.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Bro, what is it like working on the serial killer shit?
- 4:11Speaker 1: Like, because that's got to be just I mean, like
- 4:14Speaker 1: this is the fifth go go around with these guys,
- 4:16Speaker 1: and I mean just being those are your friends. You've
- 4:19Speaker 1: been on the road with these guys, you obviously shared
- 4:22Speaker 1: the stage with them for over a decade each. What's
- 4:24Speaker 1: it like just kind of getting in and like creatively
- 4:26Speaker 1: locking in with two guys like that two Jedis.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, it's like every time, it's all it's
- 4:34Speaker 3: just about upping it with them. You know, they're b
- 4:37Speaker 3: Reel's pens still sharp. X is a fucking beast, you know.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Kingmakers are crazy incredible and it's uh, you know, getting
- 4:45Speaker 3: in with them. And then on this one we brought
- 4:47Speaker 3: in Scoop Deville. He produced the whole shit oh shit,
- 4:50Speaker 3: So we took it back to the very first record
- 4:52Speaker 3: we ever did was Don't You Dare Laugh on b
- 4:55Speaker 3: Reil Smoking Mirrors album. That's the first time me X
- 4:57Speaker 3: and b Rail were on a song and it was
- 5:00Speaker 3: reduced by Scoop, So we brought them in.
- 5:02Speaker 4: He produced Old Ship.
- 5:03Speaker 3: So just getting in the in the studio with with
- 5:05Speaker 3: them and creating this album, you know, it's it's just
- 5:09Speaker 3: always a great feeling to be working with people that
- 5:12Speaker 3: like especially Exen like, I mean, come on, I was
- 5:17Speaker 3: I was in high school freestyling over fucking the paparazzi instrumental.
- 5:21Speaker 4: That's wild, you know.
- 5:23Speaker 3: So to be five albums deep in a group with
- 5:27Speaker 3: him toward the whole world so many times over is
- 5:30Speaker 3: like a blessing.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Obviously. Cyprus Hill legendary should be real as a master
- 5:35Speaker 4: of this ship.
- 5:36Speaker 1: If you were to, like, because you have so many
- 5:39Speaker 1: series of projects, whether it's Stony Point or You and
- 5:42Speaker 1: Dizzy or the Serial Killer stuff, which which one of
- 5:46Speaker 1: those three ventures you think has the best discography quality?
- 5:49Speaker 3: Pounding, Damn, damn, that's wow. That's that's a crazy question.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I don't know. It's hard for me.
- 6:00Speaker 3: It's hard for me to do that because me and
- 6:02Speaker 3: Hopa Shit is like special. Now this I'm not gonna
- 6:06Speaker 3: I've about to give a long winded answer. I would
- 6:10Speaker 3: say I would I would say, uh Mi and Hoppa
- 6:14Speaker 3: shit is special because I started to catch like even
- 6:17Speaker 3: though it's that's more of.
- 6:19Speaker 4: A producer, rapper duo type thing.
- 6:22Speaker 3: So that was special because that's a lot of my
- 6:24Speaker 3: own that's like almost like my solo shit over a
- 6:28Speaker 3: special like a special kind of production. So that holds
- 6:32Speaker 3: a place in my heart because I was able to
- 6:34Speaker 3: go out there and do Stony Point headlining tours. First
- 6:37Speaker 3: time I ever went on my own tours where it
- 6:40Speaker 3: was a line of fans coming to check out my
- 6:43Speaker 3: music just solely for me was Stony Point. So that
- 6:47Speaker 3: has a special place in my heart, you know, Blaze
- 6:50Speaker 3: with a series with Dizzy. I felt like it was
- 6:53Speaker 3: really important pushing the cannabis movement in such a special
- 6:56Speaker 3: time in it, you know, twenty fifteen, sixteen seventeen, kind
- 7:00Speaker 3: of like the heyday of the legalization and kind of
- 7:03Speaker 3: like what was happening in the in the era. So
- 7:07Speaker 3: that shit is special. And me and him get booked
- 7:10Speaker 3: time for time for to go do shows and we
- 7:12Speaker 3: just do a bunch of Blaze with us material, So
- 7:15Speaker 3: that's special. And then Serial Killers is special to me
- 7:18Speaker 3: because I'm working with legendary icons and hip hop. So
- 7:25Speaker 3: I don't know which one's the best one, but I'm
- 7:29Speaker 3: partial to the Stony Point stuff because it opened a
- 7:31Speaker 3: lot of a lot of solo doors for me.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Hey, we got to stop the interview to tell you
- 7:35Speaker 2: about our good folks. Odd Socks.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Man. Now, these are the odd Socks basics, Ladies and gentlemen. Now,
- 7:40Speaker 1: when I tell you this is a product that every
- 7:44Speaker 1: single day I'm alive for the last five six years
- 7:49Speaker 1: I have used are these odd Socks basics. Now, what
- 7:52Speaker 1: odd Socks is doing is they're kind of reinventing the
- 7:54Speaker 1: sock game for being honest and the underwear game you
- 7:56Speaker 1: know a lot of times you'll hit Walmart, you'll hit Target,
- 7:59Speaker 1: You'll get some soft I get some draws. They're affordable.
- 8:02Speaker 1: They end up with holes in them. They don't really
- 8:04Speaker 1: feel great. Not odd Socks, Ladies and gentlemen. These odd
- 8:07Speaker 1: Socks Basics are the most comfortable socks I've ever had
- 8:11Speaker 1: on my feet. Not only that, but you're super affordable.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Fourteen ninety nine for a six pack. That's it oddsocks
- 8:20Speaker 1: dot com. And if you don't believe me, sock check full.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Wait that's the ex is on the other side. There
- 8:28Speaker 2: we go. Ah, you see that.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Sorry you had to see those white legs. But it's
- 8:35Speaker 1: so dope that, you know, I get to push a
- 8:38Speaker 1: product that I use and that I love, so odd Socks,
- 8:41Speaker 1: they got the six pack of socks for fourteen ninety
- 8:43Speaker 1: nine at odd socks dot com.
- 8:44Speaker 2: The Basics.
- 8:45Speaker 1: This is the future of socks, the future of underwear
- 8:50Speaker 1: comfort and affordability.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I'm talking about affordability.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Without jeopardizing the quality because they are the most comfortable
- 8:56Speaker 1: socks you ever put on your feet. Ladies and gents,
- 8:59Speaker 1: and the exceps. Got to show love to the ETCeteras
- 9:01Speaker 1: we like all the stripes on the flag there are
- 9:04Speaker 1: odd socks dot com man, much love to my brothers
- 9:06Speaker 1: over there. Make sure you get some right now, odd
- 9:08Speaker 1: socks dot COM's get back to the interview.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Do you feel like because I feel.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Like not enough artists will like lock in with a
- 9:14Speaker 1: producer for full projects. But you've done that a lot obviously,
- 9:16Speaker 1: Mike and Keys and Yeah hop A, Austin Sex and ot.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Do you feel like that's like an easier process when
- 9:24Speaker 1: you're working on your shit because you don't have to
- 9:26Speaker 1: Like I feel like when you just work with one producer,
- 9:28Speaker 1: it's a lot easier to clear business, right and like.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Way easier to clear business. And also I just I
- 9:35Speaker 3: was in a group originally when I first started this
- 9:37Speaker 3: music shit, and I always treated hip hop as a
- 9:40Speaker 3: as like a team sport, and so to be able
- 9:44Speaker 3: to rock with with somebody, uh and try to get
- 9:47Speaker 3: to a goal, like even when I did the album
- 9:50Speaker 3: with Tony Chopp, you know, it's like I like tapping
- 9:53Speaker 3: in with a producer, seeing what kind of music they
- 9:56Speaker 3: would make, where they see their vision and with my
- 10:00Speaker 3: and how it how it lines up, you know, and
- 10:02Speaker 3: and uh shout out DJ Mugs because he told me
- 10:05Speaker 3: way early on. You know, find a producer to work
- 10:08Speaker 3: with and and stick with that, you know, And that's
- 10:10Speaker 3: why I even had two projects with Scoop Deville, Like
- 10:13Speaker 3: I have so many different things where I where I've
- 10:16Speaker 3: worked with one solid producer on projects.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I say, is it for you?
- 10:22Speaker 1: Like is there a chemistry that you I mean, it's
- 10:26Speaker 1: probably Hopper, right, you guys have so much music in
- 10:29Speaker 1: terms of just like honing in with a producer.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I would definitely say I was. I'd definitely say
- 10:36Speaker 3: DJ Hopper. I mean me and I feel like Championship
- 10:41Speaker 3: Rounds and Championship Rounds two with me and Mikey Keys,
- 10:44Speaker 3: like that's some sleep on music. And yeah they did
- 10:48Speaker 3: Blaze with us three, Like the wave that with them
- 10:51Speaker 3: is crazy.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Uh.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I mean a lot of these producers, I always lean
- 10:57Speaker 3: back to what working with Hopper because, like I said,
- 11:00Speaker 3: like the doors that that opened, Like I remember when
- 11:03Speaker 3: the first, uh the first A Stony Point album dropped
- 11:08Speaker 3: and going and performing Clouds above Us with Dizzy at
- 11:12Speaker 3: his shows and seeing five hundred people singing the fucking
- 11:16Speaker 3: song with us, and I was like, yo, that that
- 11:19Speaker 3: music started to take a life of his own and
- 11:22Speaker 3: I could still go out at any one of my
- 11:24Speaker 3: shows and play Stony Point music and people are gonna
- 11:27Speaker 3: sing along with me.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Which producer would you like to do an album but
- 11:31Speaker 2: that you haven't yet?
- 11:35Speaker 3: Damn h Alchemists, I mean, I mean, that's the whole
- 11:43Speaker 3: world is gonna. I mean I've asked him multiple times,
- 11:45Speaker 3: you know, how to you know, chopped it up with
- 11:49Speaker 3: him and uh, you know when the time is, when
- 11:52Speaker 3: the time permiss out, let's run that, you know. But
- 11:56Speaker 3: you know, there's a lot of dope ass producers that
- 11:59Speaker 3: I like to work with. I actually just got to
- 12:01Speaker 3: work with I did the rock the Bell's Cruise, uh
- 12:04Speaker 3: ship with with X last month or some shit like that.
- 12:08Speaker 3: And I got to do a song with Manny Fresh
- 12:10Speaker 3: oh Fire, So I got to that was cool. And
- 12:13Speaker 3: there's just a lot of producers that I respect, you know,
- 12:17Speaker 3: Havoc my deep would be crazy, you know, some production
- 12:20Speaker 3: I love. I'd love to do a project with Battle Cat.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I'd love to obviously, you know, uh, just the Aftermath
- 12:28Speaker 3: staff like over.
- 12:29Speaker 4: There, any type of shit.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, there's there's so many dope people that
- 12:34Speaker 3: I that I admire their work that I'd like to
- 12:37Speaker 3: collaborate with is.
- 12:39Speaker 1: The Rock the Bells Tour like what I picture the
- 12:42Speaker 1: cruise or yeah, the cruise I mean like is I
- 12:44Speaker 1: just feel like it'd be just like a bunch of
- 12:45Speaker 1: dusty old heads like me.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Just it's it's it's it is.
- 12:49Speaker 3: You want to know something, it's I don't would I
- 12:52Speaker 3: wouldn't consideringly say dusty old heads.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Wouldn't be the words that I would use.
- 12:57Speaker 2: But it's like forty five year old white dudes.
- 13:00Speaker 3: No, it was all black. Really it was all black, okay,
- 13:04Speaker 3: you know what I mean straight up like.
- 13:06Speaker 2: A bunch of me and Spencer Breens on the tour,
- 13:08Speaker 2: like on the cruise ship.
- 13:10Speaker 3: And I would say, is it's definitely like thirty to
- 13:13Speaker 3: like you know fifty type of age range and uh
- 13:19Speaker 3: because it was right yeah ll but you know it's
- 13:22Speaker 3: like people that want to go see like on on
- 13:24Speaker 3: the one that we did was uh juvenile with the
- 13:27Speaker 3: with the band loop Loop a fiasco was there?
- 13:30Speaker 4: The locks exhibit.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Twists the whole time, Yeah, dog pound, you know it's
- 13:39Speaker 3: a long list, and then to like empty Light and
- 13:42Speaker 3: Kji like I got to see bro. I never thought
- 13:46Speaker 3: in my whole life that I would see get to
- 13:48Speaker 3: watch Cougie rap perform. I thought, maybe I have missed
- 13:53Speaker 3: my time to see that, and I want to go
- 13:56Speaker 3: on this fucking cruise now, Yo, this this ship was
- 13:59Speaker 3: food poisoning.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Food was good.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I'm so I've never been I've never been on a cruise,
- 14:05Speaker 1: and I'm like, I have like a hard line in
- 14:07Speaker 1: the sand where I'm like.
- 14:08Speaker 4: Nope, You're like, I won't fuck with it.
- 14:10Speaker 2: But that sounds fun.
- 14:12Speaker 3: It's cool because it's it was hip hop the whole time,
- 14:16Speaker 3: like you know, the Elevator music and all that ship
- 14:19Speaker 3: might be. You know who tank wan ain't nothing to
- 14:23Speaker 3: fuck with. You know, it's cool, It's great experience.
- 14:26Speaker 4: I enjoyed it.
- 14:28Speaker 1: For you man, Uh, it's been a pretty dope year
- 14:31Speaker 1: and hip hop outside of your own music. What what
- 14:32Speaker 1: would you put in the Album of the year.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Run besides oh, which I think is I'm just happy
- 14:40Speaker 3: that people were fucking with with lyrics. I like, uh,
- 14:44Speaker 3: the Clips album obviously, I feel like that's a big
- 14:48Speaker 3: time front runner that a lot of people are talking about.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Kingmaker.
- 14:51Speaker 3: I felt like X's album was extremely you know, it's
- 14:55Speaker 3: I don't not slept on because I feel like people
- 14:59Speaker 3: with it. But sometimes shit got to resonate for a
- 15:01Speaker 3: little bit. You're gonna just kind of double back and
- 15:03Speaker 3: be like, that's something something special. I mean, there's a
- 15:06Speaker 3: lot of good music that that that came out this year.
- 15:09Speaker 2: What's that?
- 15:09Speaker 4: I'm curious, what's your fact?
- 15:11Speaker 2: Clips? The Clips?
- 15:12Speaker 3: I just I like that they just popped out and
- 15:15Speaker 3: people were hip hop's in a weird place though, too, right?
- 15:19Speaker 2: Do you know what?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Ever, I never stopped listening to the Clips album, Like,
- 15:21Speaker 1: I feel like I still listen to it.
- 15:22Speaker 2: It's for me.
- 15:23Speaker 1: It's like Clips are Alfredo too or my two for
- 15:25Speaker 1: the year, and then and then probably the Larry June
- 15:28Speaker 1: now Shit with two Chains.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Love that album.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Life's beautiful. It's crazy, man. There's some great albums this
- 15:33Speaker 2: year though.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Yeah, and people fucking with hip hop. But I wanted
- 15:38Speaker 3: to ask you to like, do you what do you
- 15:39Speaker 3: where do you think the state of hip hop is
- 15:42Speaker 3: at right now?
- 15:42Speaker 1: I love I think it's been the best year of
- 15:44Speaker 1: hip hop in a long time.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I think the last time was this good was probably
- 15:49Speaker 1: like twenty twenty twenty. We had some good ship, but
- 15:51Speaker 1: this year it's been I'm like trying to put together
- 15:54Speaker 1: my year end list for the albums, and I'm like, Jesus,
- 15:57Speaker 1: so much good shit came out this year. It's like,
- 16:00Speaker 1: is getting hurt.
- 16:02Speaker 4: At getting left off to a lot.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Of good music that came out this year.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Man, Like it's but do you feel like this, let
- 16:08Speaker 3: me ask you this. You feel like the staying power
- 16:10Speaker 3: of music is like lasting as long. I don't know
- 16:13Speaker 3: why I felt like shit is dropping and came out.
- 16:17Speaker 1: It's kind of been like that for a minute. I
- 16:18Speaker 1: feel like ever since we got to the point where
- 16:21Speaker 1: like it was so easy to release music, like you
- 16:26Speaker 1: just upload your own ship. I just feel like people's attentions.
- 16:29Speaker 1: That's why it's like, if you, if you for me,
- 16:31Speaker 1: if like I listened to an album more than a
- 16:33Speaker 1: month or.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Two, I'm like, it's a special piece of work.
- 16:35Speaker 1: And there's a bunch of projects this year that I
- 16:38Speaker 1: was just like, I'm like, I just keep going back
- 16:39Speaker 1: to so I love. Honestly, I feel like this is
- 16:42Speaker 1: the even even though there's like all the Billboard narrative
- 16:44Speaker 1: ship that's out there that's a little lacking nuance because
- 16:48Speaker 1: they changed the rules, so a lot of stuff fell
- 16:50Speaker 1: off the chart. But I think it's I think hip
- 16:53Speaker 1: hop's in a good place because it's like the underground
- 16:56Speaker 1: ship's cracking.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's like.
- 16:58Speaker 1: You know, and even the big ship like Laboy cardis
- 17:00Speaker 1: technically kind of still an underground artist. Now, whether you
- 17:03Speaker 1: like him or not, it's one thing. But he has
- 17:04Speaker 1: like a very like his movement is very like underworld
- 17:10Speaker 1: type shit, you know what I'm saying. Like, Yeah, Playboy
- 17:12Speaker 1: cardis doing arenas while still kind of not being like
- 17:16Speaker 1: like a pop culture.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Kind of like the Suicide Boys type shit or the
- 17:20Speaker 3: Biggest version.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Yes, similar, similar, yeah, similar in their own little I'd
- 17:25Speaker 1: be cardis a lot more mainstream than Suicide Boys, but
- 17:27Speaker 1: very similar. Suicide Boys are fucking doing arenas and nobody
- 17:33Speaker 1: like they're not household names, you know.
- 17:35Speaker 4: I feel like Christian hip hop popped off this year.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Uh yeah, Miles Minnic had a good year.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Lacraye, I don't know what else.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I just know Miles.
- 17:45Speaker 1: So I'm an atheist, so the Christian hip hop doesn't
- 17:49Speaker 1: hit as well with me.
- 17:50Speaker 2: But Miles Minnic had a dope album.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yeah, And I'm just really talking about I'm thinking more
- 17:55Speaker 3: of just like what's trend, Like it's just weird. I
- 17:58Speaker 3: feel like the landscape with hips so broad now it's
- 18:02Speaker 3: like Freddie Gibbs in All the Way to Playboy CARDI like,
- 18:06Speaker 3: they're all different.
- 18:07Speaker 4: They're such different.
- 18:08Speaker 2: There's a lot of subgenres of rap.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Now there we go.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it's definitely splintered, which is fine. Yeah, because it's
- 18:15Speaker 1: like that with rock.
- 18:16Speaker 3: There's folk, there's fucking alternative, there's metal. There all the
- 18:20Speaker 3: same shit. It's actually better, right yeah, I think it's better. Yeah,
- 18:25Speaker 3: it's something for everybody.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Man, Hey, we gotta wrap up this interview, another one
- 18:28Speaker 1: presented by Hardean.

- 20:09Speaker 3: be the title of the album, and uh, we're gonna
- 20:12Speaker 3: drop it. We're announcing the date, like I say, it's April.
- 20:16Speaker 3: We're gonna drop it in April fire.
- 20:18Speaker 4: So it's cool.
- 20:19Speaker 3: We dropped two singles now, s k Anthem was the
- 20:22Speaker 3: first one, called the Cops with the LL sample on
- 20:26Speaker 3: the on the hook.
- 20:27Speaker 4: It's going crazy right now.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Easy sample to clear since you did his cruise.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Easy sample to you know, be real, spoke to uh,
- 20:37Speaker 3: spoke to him directly dope, you know. So it's cool
- 20:40Speaker 3: to that that kind of energy can happen with with that.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Record, right right, right, right right now. That's so all right.
- 20:46Speaker 1: And for someone who's known for being such a big pothead,
- 20:49Speaker 1: you're not smoking weed anymore.
- 20:50Speaker 4: I'm so batter fulled. I ain't drink. I'm rob dogg
- 20:54Speaker 4: in life right now.
- 20:55Speaker 2: How does it feel?
- 20:56Speaker 3: It's crazy, bro, Like, I feel great though, but I'm
- 21:00Speaker 3: trying to learn how to be social again.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Is it the news?
- 21:04Speaker 2: So the alcohol, the weed the hardest thing to give
- 21:06Speaker 2: up for you.
- 21:06Speaker 3: You know, I was a big fan of the cross.
- 21:10Speaker 3: I might be one of those people that really loved
- 21:12Speaker 3: the crossfade, you know what I mean.
- 21:15Speaker 4: But obviously.
- 21:19Speaker 2: It's like if you're going we do them both.
- 21:21Speaker 4: I mean, you usually see can be stoned and drunk,
- 21:25Speaker 4: you know, but.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Uh, alcohol just is uh you know, it's I feel
- 21:30Speaker 3: like I was, all right, you go to the airport, you
- 21:34Speaker 3: rather get on the flight to go to the show.
- 21:35Speaker 3: You have a couple of drinks, you land, you, you
- 21:38Speaker 3: go to soundcheck, have a drink after soundcheck, go get
- 21:41Speaker 3: dinner before the thing, have some drinks, go do the show,
- 21:44Speaker 3: take a couple of shots through his stage, have some
- 21:46Speaker 3: celebratory shots out.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Then you then you're smashed before you know.
- 21:50Speaker 3: It, before you know it, you're doney Sonny and uh
- 21:54Speaker 3: so I feel like I need to put more restraint,
- 21:58Speaker 3: restraint on the drink.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Uh. And I'm happy that I did that.
- 22:03Speaker 3: And I had partied Hella for a long time, so
- 22:07Speaker 3: it's cool to be able to say, all right, let
- 22:09Speaker 3: me do it like this now.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I wonder because it's like, I know so many homies
- 22:14Speaker 1: of mine who's brand to their fans is like wrapped
- 22:17Speaker 1: up in weed. Yeah, and you're like one of those
- 22:19Speaker 1: guys yeah, I forget what I have. Like I think
- 22:22Speaker 1: the old school merch I had of yours had like
- 22:25Speaker 1: was weed and money.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Yeah, money and weed.
- 22:27Speaker 3: That's the old school yeah, one of my very Yeah.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And like so I mean obviously blaze with us and
- 22:33Speaker 1: the Stony Points ship all that is it? Like, is
- 22:38Speaker 1: it hard for you to kind of like remove that
- 22:42Speaker 1: part of your because it's so kind of wrapped up
- 22:44Speaker 1: in some of the music.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Great question, And I feel like it's okay to to say, hey,
- 22:51Speaker 3: I'm not smoking right now?
- 22:52Speaker 4: Am I am?
- 22:53Speaker 3: I saying I'm never gonna smoke again. You know, it's
- 22:57Speaker 3: okay to evolve and grow in this music. Ship, And
- 23:01Speaker 3: like I done did the the Dave hits, the smoke boxes,
- 23:06Speaker 3: the fucking bob rips, and ship I done did. I
- 23:10Speaker 3: don't the days a like proving that you're like can
- 23:14Speaker 3: go run? You know, I'll save that for the designated
- 23:17Speaker 3: people who want that to be their thing. My whole
- 23:20Speaker 3: ship is like, uh, this is actually something new. I
- 23:23Speaker 3: never tried sobriety, so let me give this a shot.
- 23:28Speaker 3: And I feel like people will rock with me because
- 23:32Speaker 3: they they've been they've been along with me on this
- 23:35Speaker 3: whole journey. And then plus in the cannabis market, I
- 23:38Speaker 3: feel like we contributed with the stony point, with the
- 23:41Speaker 3: actual cannabis line. I've done a lot of things. Cool
- 23:45Speaker 3: shit in cannabis that's like doesn't always have to be
- 23:49Speaker 3: with how much can I smoke?
- 23:52Speaker 2: Even that, what was the strain you had with the
- 23:54Speaker 2: Asian brad.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Gaslado, you know, the gasco and that ship blew up
- 23:58Speaker 3: in the street. That ship that's shit really weak off.
- 24:01Speaker 3: So it was cool to be able to say, like,
- 24:03Speaker 3: you know, I've really contributed in that world on a
- 24:07Speaker 3: on a couple of different levels. I don't think that
- 24:09Speaker 3: it's all attached with me smoking weed every day.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I just it's it's like, I don't you remember when
- 24:14Speaker 1: Snoop like supposed to be quit. It was all this
- 24:16Speaker 1: outrage like quick we yeah, and I was like, damn,
- 24:20Speaker 1: I didn't last very long.
- 24:21Speaker 2: It didn't.
- 24:22Speaker 1: But I wonder if, like the like like when people revolt,
- 24:26Speaker 1: if Wiz ever said I'm giving up weed, I think.
- 24:29Speaker 4: People would be like what the fuck? Like why is he?
- 24:32Speaker 3: You know, they probably really want to know. But you know,
- 24:34Speaker 3: even for the for the serial killers, like they're like, oh,
- 24:39Speaker 3: we're gonna do a smoke box for the for it,
- 24:42Speaker 3: you know, on the to be real. Yeah, exactly, and
- 24:45Speaker 3: I'll just sit in the smoke box and kick it.
- 24:47Speaker 3: It's not like, you know, I still love it, but
- 24:49Speaker 3: I'm just not doing it. I'm just choosing not.
- 24:51Speaker 4: To do it right now.
- 24:52Speaker 2: You it's like more about the alcohol.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Yes, And it's the one and the two, you know,
- 24:56Speaker 3: the one the two. And I think once I get
- 25:00Speaker 3: things more leveled and really prove to myself that I
- 25:04Speaker 3: could do, you know, handle things and the way I
- 25:07Speaker 3: need to, then yeah, I'll address the situation.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Then, are you?
- 25:11Speaker 1: Uh because nowadays when you guys drop, you gotta kind
- 25:16Speaker 1: of do content, right.
- 25:17Speaker 2: You gotta do fucking vertical stuff.
- 25:19Speaker 1: So much content is that something that is easier hard
- 25:24Speaker 1: for you to kind of adjust to.
- 25:27Speaker 3: What I used to say about me is that I
- 25:29Speaker 3: used to you know, I was really cool with the
- 25:32Speaker 3: director of mad Alonzo, who was killing shit back in
- 25:35Speaker 3: the day, and uh so I was always shooting music videos.
- 25:39Speaker 3: So to me, short form content is a very easy
- 25:43Speaker 3: thing to do, and I've always been doing it.
- 25:46Speaker 4: It's just you have to like up it.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I have a hard time with shooting twenty pieces of
- 25:51Speaker 3: content of the same song and shit like that, right,
- 25:53Speaker 3: because and because I have so much of a catalog too,
- 25:56Speaker 3: I'm like, let's do this. But sometimes it's that or not.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Sometimes a lot of times it's the concentrated effort into
- 26:03Speaker 3: one thing that can move the needle. So it's just
- 26:06Speaker 3: the adjustment. I always been doing it. I think what
- 26:09Speaker 3: I have a problem with, brother, is rapping in front
- 26:13Speaker 3: of the camera, freestyling and all that shit, Like that's
- 26:17Speaker 3: my specialty. That's what I've leaned into. That's opened a
- 26:20Speaker 3: lot of doors for me. Rapping has moved me forward,
- 26:23Speaker 3: just the actual ability to rap, but showing my life
- 26:27Speaker 3: and all this other stuff that they're like, what else
- 26:29Speaker 3: is part.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Of your brand?
- 26:30Speaker 3: And da da dah this and like showing all that stuff.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Maybe the weed was an easy thing for me to
- 26:37Speaker 3: show because I always was around with you know, Philly,
- 26:41Speaker 3: you know, it was always a part of me since
- 26:43Speaker 3: the beginning. So Demrick rapping, weed, hustler, like those were
- 26:49Speaker 3: my you know, So how do I show more of
- 26:53Speaker 3: my real life to create these these fans when or
- 26:57Speaker 3: to make the fans resonate with you more? When all
- 26:59Speaker 3: I can really do is is rap, tell you my
- 27:02Speaker 3: life story through song and music and hope that it
- 27:06Speaker 3: catches you that way. So I think my hard thing
- 27:09Speaker 3: is like figuring out that other side of social media
- 27:13Speaker 3: and not wrapping in front of the camera short form content,
- 27:15Speaker 3: just spinning the sixteen on the street like we was
- 27:18Speaker 3: doing that when we was sixteen years old.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Is it?
- 27:21Speaker 1: Is it like when you got to pull X and
- 27:23Speaker 1: be Real together to be like, hey guys, we got
- 27:24Speaker 1: to shoot some reels.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Yo yo, and you see. I don't know if you've
- 27:27Speaker 3: seen that, but we've been dropping reels for that. So
- 27:31Speaker 3: I'm really I'm really happy that we all, you know what,
- 27:35Speaker 3: the company we're working with, we sat down and we
- 27:38Speaker 3: we devised the game plan and that's part of it.
- 27:42Speaker 3: And we if you take a look, they're working exceptionally well,
- 27:46Speaker 3: you know. And so I think, yeah, it's just the
- 27:50Speaker 3: way of the game. But in the beginning it's I
- 27:52Speaker 3: think for for them, it might have been like then,
- 27:56Speaker 3: you know, be Real is really in the in this
- 27:58Speaker 3: media game.
- 27:59Speaker 2: He's one of ojees. He's been doing b Real TV
- 28:02Speaker 2: forever bro.
- 28:03Speaker 3: So he understands the he understands the power of it.
- 28:06Speaker 3: And I think that this project is really putting that
- 28:09Speaker 3: short form content shit in the forefront of his mind,
- 28:12Speaker 3: Like damn, I could pop off for real at at
- 28:15Speaker 3: the studio and you know a million motherfuckers will we'll
- 28:18Speaker 3: see it.
- 28:18Speaker 2: You just never know. You got to keep shooting shots
- 28:20Speaker 2: and algorithm.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Exactly bro, And uh yeah, I'm all with it.
- 28:25Speaker 2: It's the new rules.
- 28:25Speaker 1: I'll be like, you can you can complain or you
- 28:27Speaker 1: gotta play by the rules, dog like it is what
- 28:29Speaker 1: it is.
- 28:30Speaker 3: I'm just like trying to figure out that how to
- 28:31Speaker 3: show and I think actually popping back out and doing
- 28:35Speaker 3: more of this, Like people will be reminding me, like, Yo,
- 28:38Speaker 3: you need to go do this. I've done the Boulet
- 28:40Speaker 3: keV show, right, I don't know you need to do
- 28:42Speaker 3: it again. You gotta do it, Sam, you gotta do
- 28:45Speaker 3: this shit every year, so you could clip it up
- 28:47Speaker 3: and show people your personality and really give that try
- 28:51Speaker 3: to drop some knowledge and connect with people in a
- 28:53Speaker 3: different way than just just wrapping.
- 28:56Speaker 1: You already got twenty twenty six lined up in terms
- 28:59Speaker 1: of what you're going to be working on.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Yeah, well you know, we know Serial Killers project coming
- 29:03Speaker 2: in April.
- 29:04Speaker 4: Yeah, and then it's either gonna you know, me and
- 29:06Speaker 4: Scoop Deville. We got a.
- 29:08Speaker 3: We got a whole new album that we have. Uh
- 29:11Speaker 3: so it's either gonna be that or or UI too.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I'm surprised you never dropped the project with berner Man.
- 29:21Speaker 3: You know, me and Berner we we had conversations. Just
- 29:24Speaker 3: never uh it never, It never happened. You know, He's
- 29:28Speaker 3: featured me on a lot of.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Stuff, you know, big records.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I said, And he took me on tour a
- 29:34Speaker 3: bunch of times. And good dude, it's crazy. Me and
- 29:37Speaker 3: Cosmo have a He produced the whole album for me
- 29:42Speaker 3: that I just have sitting sitting, you know, somewhere. It's
- 29:46Speaker 3: on my laptop. I'm like, I'm like, when can I
- 29:49Speaker 3: find time to put this motherfucker out. It's it's dope
- 29:52Speaker 3: ass album. And shout out to those dudes really embraced
- 29:56Speaker 3: me in a cool way and and put me on
- 29:59Speaker 3: with their audience and ship like that. Burner, super solid dude.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Super solid man.
- 30:04Speaker 1: We'll listen new album Mollie out Serial Killers album in April.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 30:09Speaker 4: That's it.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Stay locked in, dem. I appreciate you, brother, Thank you,
- 30:13Speaker 2: brother bo
- 30:17Speaker 4: Mhm
