- 0:39Speaker 1: Edgeheads or the Edge Triplets as Dan Hausen will call
- 0:44Speaker 1: you first, and.
- 0:45Speaker 3: The easy to think that you know me, I still
- 0:50Speaker 3: get I don't know. It resonates with me when I
- 0:53Speaker 3: hear that. That's all I gotta say.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Hell, who are you? Who does it as a name with?
- 1:00Speaker 3: I guess since I spoke first, I'll introduce myself first.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I am the most professional wrestler, Impact Wrestling Star and
- 1:05Speaker 3: the Scottie Pippen of Wrestling figure, collecting in the one
- 1:08Speaker 3: time half one half of the youngest ww techting champions
- 1:13Speaker 3: in the history of the business.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Brian Myers, what's up?
- 1:17Speaker 1: Nobody's nobody's been younger.
- 1:18Speaker 5: I think there is there is an asterisk next to that.
- 1:22Speaker 4: We'll talk about that.
- 1:23Speaker 5: But I am the other Edgehead always ready, Matt Carr
- 1:27Speaker 5: doing O What's up?
- 1:27Speaker 1: Mark? What's up? Guys? All right, So again like we've
- 1:31Speaker 1: been doing. If you're listening to this now go back
- 1:33Speaker 1: listen to the other episodes if you haven't heard them,
- 1:36Speaker 1: we start from the very beginnings of their career in
- 1:38Speaker 1: different Q and A episodes. We spend three episodes on
- 1:41Speaker 1: their developmental time. Last episode was about their time in
- 1:46Speaker 1: the Edgeheads. Now we're doing post edge edge Heads for
- 1:50Speaker 1: about that year. We ask you, guys, questions from the
- 1:55Speaker 1: Hard Foundation members. So if you're a Hard Fundation member
- 1:57Speaker 1: and you didn't ask a question, you you're missing out.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Can I give a little follow up?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Sure?
- 2:02Speaker 5: So in one of the earlier, earlier episodes, we were
- 2:05Speaker 5: discussing NYWC and becoming the nyw C Tag Team Champions,
- 2:09Speaker 5: and I don't know if I said it in that episode,
- 2:11Speaker 5: but I have said it before that I've been trying
- 2:13Speaker 5: to track down that NYWC Tag Team title and somebody
- 2:19Speaker 5: who has it contacted.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Me on Twitter.
- 2:23Speaker 5: Former NYWC Tag Team Champion Sither. I believe it is
- 2:26Speaker 5: his name, Syther Cither Syther, He's a wrestling trainer now
- 2:30Speaker 5: in Florida. And he kind of offered it to me.
- 2:35Speaker 5: I don't want to get into the the details of
- 2:39Speaker 5: the offer, but I had to decline, Oh two price.
- 2:44Speaker 5: It wasn't a price, it was more like a favor,
- 2:49Speaker 5: and I still had to decline.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Oh, meet and greet.
- 2:51Speaker 5: I had to decline what it was and.
- 2:54Speaker 1: It was a seminar because you hate.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Definitely yeah, hates helping the you know, current I actually
- 3:03Speaker 3: think i'd be great not remember Taz had that finishing school.
- 3:07Speaker 4: I think we should be like Broski's finishing schools. Finishing school.
- 3:11Speaker 5: I couldn't teach how Brian has the patience he could teach.
- 3:14Speaker 5: I could not teach somebody how to lock up, you know.
- 3:16Speaker 5: I couldn't teach somebody how to grab a headlock. I
- 3:18Speaker 5: could I could watch a match.
- 3:21Speaker 3: For whatever reason, people have shows. People just didn't show up, injuries, sicknesses, whatever,
- 3:28Speaker 3: great upro my class. There was two kids and then
- 3:31Speaker 3: Max Caster rolled through. So these two kids, literally kids
- 3:33Speaker 3: who've like had you know, never had a match, probably
- 3:37Speaker 3: had the training session of a lifetime.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Well there you go.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I mean did drills with me and Castor for an hour,
- 3:42Speaker 3: worked us on the fly and the tag match I
- 3:44Speaker 3: mean like a i'd say, an invaluable learning experience.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like Brian Uh, you know, as a
- 3:53Speaker 1: student for a couple of years, Brian's way of dealing
- 3:56Speaker 1: with the impatience of the headlock and all that stuff
- 4:00Speaker 1: is like, Brian, I feel like you're really good at
- 4:03Speaker 1: like seeing who cares and who wants it and all
- 4:06Speaker 1: that stuff, and the people that don't You just kind
- 4:08Speaker 1: of like that's.
- 4:10Speaker 4: The doctor Tom and me.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Doctor I feel like Doctr Tom could just read a
- 4:13Speaker 3: guy like this guy cares, this guy has passion, and
- 4:17Speaker 3: then if you didn't like same as what you're saying,
- 4:20Speaker 3: Like if you didn't, he wasn't gonna like pick on you,
- 4:23Speaker 3: bully you.
- 4:23Speaker 4: He's just not gonna give a fuck about you.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, nice role, Let's move on.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Yeah, there you go. Yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 5: I think that's why we succeeded so well at n
- 4:33Speaker 5: YWC and in Deep South is because Mikey and Bill
- 4:38Speaker 5: and Dave Taylor too, and doctor Tom uh saw that
- 4:41Speaker 5: we did care.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Yeah sure, and our care was like genuine.
- 4:45Speaker 5: And not bullshit like I'm gonna do this better coach,
- 4:48Speaker 5: like obviously.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Brown knows you know, thing Like God, I always remember
- 4:52Speaker 3: in obw if Al Snow made any fucking lame ass joke,
- 4:57Speaker 3: sure is enough.
- 4:58Speaker 4: You could set your watch to it.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Brad Jake the first one, belly laughing like like Dave
- 5:03Speaker 3: Chappelle was up there doing a routine like you can say,
- 5:07Speaker 3: you watch too. It just brown nosy like kiss that
- 5:09Speaker 3: ship like that like that. That's not what we did.
- 5:11Speaker 3: We just truly like really loved wrestling and like kind
- 5:13Speaker 3: of couldn't get enough, you know.
- 5:16Speaker 1: All right, So, like I said, we asked uh the
- 5:19Speaker 1: Heart fundage members to ask questions to us.
- 5:22Speaker 5: But I haven't heard that thing that just popped my head. Okay,
- 5:25Speaker 5: do we record these videos as videos?
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yes, but I haven't been putting them up.
- 5:30Speaker 5: We never used it, right, But like, why why doesn't
- 5:33Speaker 5: d Freedom take like sound bites and making social clips
- 5:37Speaker 5: that people are like, oh, I should download the pod
- 5:40Speaker 5: to hear the whole.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Thing, become a page. I should become a patren.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Yeah, we should do that. There's some cool shit awesome
- 5:46Speaker 5: because he makes great videos. Why not do it for
- 5:48Speaker 5: these bonus ones?
- 5:49Speaker 1: You want me to put the video up of these? Well,
- 5:52Speaker 1: the actual problem was we did a lot of these
- 5:54Speaker 1: like in the car, you know, so there was no videos.
- 5:57Speaker 5: It's I'm not saying you have to put it up
- 5:58Speaker 5: for YouTube. I'm just saying, like so deep even can
- 6:00Speaker 5: make the the video to put up on social sure
- 6:05Speaker 5: if we if we have it, why not put up
- 6:07Speaker 5: on video?
- 6:07Speaker 4: Right for the.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Patriots, there's some unreal clips. I'm saying some things in
- 6:14Speaker 1: some of those old episodes. A, well, we have to
- 6:17Speaker 1: stuff from away. Sorry, let's set the stage before I
- 6:22Speaker 1: even get to their questions. Edgeheads break up. Tell me
- 6:27Speaker 1: what what happens?
- 6:28Speaker 4: Well, we never break up, Okay, that's what That's why
- 6:31Speaker 4: it's so confusing.
- 6:32Speaker 5: He loses at Summer Slam, goes what year are we talking,
- 6:38Speaker 5: gets choked slammed through the ring, I believe, right, and
- 6:41Speaker 5: there's flames.
- 6:42Speaker 4: He's like dead, he's in Hans.
- 6:43Speaker 3: And I don't know about you, but all I remember
- 6:46Speaker 3: is being backstage talking to him and saying goodbye, and
- 6:48Speaker 3: he smelt burnt.
- 6:50Speaker 4: I don't remember that because like he.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Choked slams through the ring, he disappears and Undertaker is
- 6:54Speaker 3: the thing, and like Pyro comes up from it. So
- 6:56Speaker 3: he's very close to this Pyro fire and then like
- 6:59Speaker 3: he's like the little bit of body hair as he
- 7:01Speaker 3: had were like sings and you could like smelt burnt
- 7:04Speaker 3: and we were like saying thank you and goodbye to
- 7:06Speaker 3: and like whatever.
- 7:08Speaker 1: It's probably like burnt hair.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Yeah it was.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 5: At that point, we are still the tag team champions.
- 7:16Speaker 5: We had won them at Great American Bash, I believe,
- 7:18Speaker 5: yep on Long Island, and I remember, you know, I
- 7:22Speaker 5: don't know if we talked to this last episode. I
- 7:23Speaker 5: remember sitting in the bleach. Of course, you're hoping you're
- 7:25Speaker 5: gonna win the titles. Of course we were sitting in
- 7:28Speaker 5: the bleachers and whoever told us we were winning, like inside,
- 7:31Speaker 5: I was like, yes, but.
- 7:32Speaker 3: I had to play it so cool. Yeah, I think
- 7:33Speaker 3: it was I think it was Findley. We were just like, okay,
- 7:35Speaker 3: sounds good, sir, thank you.
- 7:36Speaker 5: I feel like it it's either Hazer or or or
- 7:39Speaker 5: Friendly Senator. So we are the champions.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I said this bore.
- 7:43Speaker 5: We never actually got proper name plates. We just had
- 7:46Speaker 5: paper name plates and they never real name plates.
- 7:50Speaker 4: You can't tell on TV tell on TV.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I was happy when we got him Richie from Magic
- 7:55Speaker 3: and I remember this, he touched them up. Yeah, live
- 7:58Speaker 3: event ones at least he like touched them up, so
- 8:00Speaker 3: looked nice in pristine, like he and painted all the
- 8:03Speaker 3: blue detailing.
- 8:04Speaker 4: In it and whatever. I thought that was pretty cool
- 8:05Speaker 4: to see.
- 8:06Speaker 5: Yeah, so so edges out. I thought it was an injury,
- 8:11Speaker 5: but you said it was like personal time.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I know for a fact he said he went to
- 8:16Speaker 3: Vince and said, I'd like to have some vacation time
- 8:18Speaker 3: where like my neck's not in a goddamn neck brace
- 8:20Speaker 3: or my you know, my leg is broken.
- 8:22Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not saying that it's not sure. I
- 8:24Speaker 4: just don't remember it that way. That's fine if you
- 8:26Speaker 4: think about it.
- 8:26Speaker 3: That was basically year that he went went so far
- 8:30Speaker 3: on top, as the top in every way.
- 8:33Speaker 5: Yeah, so we're kind of like, I want to say,
- 8:38Speaker 5: we're worried, but I also think at the same time
- 8:39Speaker 5: where everything's just going so great for us.
- 8:42Speaker 4: I mean like at this at this point, it don't
- 8:45Speaker 4: recall me worried at all.
- 8:46Speaker 5: Yeah, Like we're the tag team champions, like we did
- 8:49Speaker 5: the run in at Mania, just going to come back.
- 8:50Speaker 5: We have that big edgehead three way next Mania, it
- 8:53Speaker 5: doesn't happen. I remember Primo debuts like he's on Raw
- 8:59Speaker 5: and then all of a sudden comes to SmackDown. We
- 9:00Speaker 5: do uh impromptu like match and we lose.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Okay, I have another poun memory about this day, and
- 9:08Speaker 3: this might spark remember for you that day. Originally we're
- 9:11Speaker 3: the tag champs and on SmackDown we're supposed to like
- 9:14Speaker 3: squash like Funaki and like Jimmy Yang or something like
- 9:18Speaker 3: a straight up squash match like run through these dudes.
- 9:23Speaker 3: That was that when they come out of the first meeting,
- 9:25Speaker 3: that's what it was. We started putting together. They come
- 9:26Speaker 3: out of the next me and they're like, oh no,
- 9:28Speaker 3: Primo's gonna debut with Carlito wasn't doing anything.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Carlor was never on the show.
- 9:32Speaker 3: He had been drafted, like in the previous night, he
- 9:35Speaker 3: had never been on his hair. They like made him
- 9:37Speaker 3: take the bread the braids out. He never wore those
- 9:39Speaker 3: on TV. He went back to like old school Carlito.
- 9:42Speaker 3: And they're like they're putting them together and they're beating
- 9:44Speaker 3: you guys in a tag match, and we were like,
- 9:46Speaker 3: exqueeze me baking powder. We were like, what, like just
- 9:49Speaker 3: it's just then, But that's honestly, that's like one of
- 9:51Speaker 3: the first times that happened to us in WW But
- 9:53Speaker 3: if if you work there, you know that's like, so
- 9:55Speaker 3: that's typical.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Yeah, so typical.
- 9:57Speaker 3: So that's what happened, and we had a match with them,
- 9:59Speaker 3: and they they're great, They are awesome workers and so
- 10:01Speaker 3: fun to work with. Both both those guys are tremendous
- 10:03Speaker 3: and so we just did that. We put them over
- 10:05Speaker 3: non title. The following week we have uh Carle Leader's
- 10:11Speaker 3: Cabana and Freddie Prince Junior wrote the segment I remember,
- 10:14Speaker 3: and he was really pumped.
- 10:15Speaker 4: He said, like, everyone did a great job.
- 10:17Speaker 3: And then we had the title match following week and
- 10:19Speaker 3: we lose, and that it's basically it for us.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yes, now when you say that, what do you mean
- 10:25Speaker 1: by that?
- 10:26Speaker 4: What do you do?
- 10:27Speaker 1: Never a period that we're doing this episode.
- 10:30Speaker 5: This is like October September, September October this time period
- 10:33Speaker 5: right now September of two thousand and eight.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And then for the next year through two thousand.
- 10:40Speaker 5: No no week then, so then it's we're still being
- 10:43Speaker 5: brought to TV and I don't know.
- 10:46Speaker 3: They never tell us it's over. Really, I mean, we
- 10:48Speaker 3: had this weird thing where they did.
- 10:50Speaker 5: But remember I remember one of us. I believe it's you.
- 10:55Speaker 5: You're supposed to wrestle kung fu naky, either in a
- 10:58Speaker 5: dark match or a segue match. A segway match is
- 11:01Speaker 5: e CW used to be taped after SmackDown or before SmackDown,
- 11:05Speaker 5: depending on where it was in the you know, in
- 11:07Speaker 5: the country with the time zones. So like while they're
- 11:10Speaker 5: switching the aprons and stuff like that, they would have
- 11:13Speaker 5: a match just like go on there as they're like
- 11:17Speaker 5: switching the fucking aprons.
- 11:19Speaker 4: It was meeting.
- 11:20Speaker 5: It was just so like the people had something to
- 11:22Speaker 5: watch besides the crew switching the aprons.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Yeah, weird, but nowadays they just do it.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Do it so quick. There's a video.
- 11:30Speaker 4: They play videos. Yeah, just play videos, you don't need matches. Yeah.
- 11:33Speaker 5: So I remember Johnny Ace tells us that either somewhere
- 11:38Speaker 5: we're gonna meet with Vince, like today, so whoa okay,
- 11:42Speaker 5: So I just remember sitting outside his office like forever,
- 11:45Speaker 5: and everybody like walking by and asked, like what we're doing,
- 11:49Speaker 5: because like everyone knows that you're sitting outside Vince's office.
- 11:52Speaker 5: I always hated that feeling, even like when you're doing
- 11:54Speaker 5: it like on your own, you know, like whatever. We
- 11:58Speaker 5: finally go in and you might remember but this differently
- 12:00Speaker 5: than I do. But I long story short. I remember
- 12:03Speaker 5: him saying, like, you guys are done as a team,
- 12:07Speaker 5: and we're gonna do things with you individually, and we're
- 12:10Speaker 5: gonna bring you both to Stanford and come up with
- 12:13Speaker 5: new ideas for you guys as single stars. And it
- 12:16Speaker 5: wasn't like it wasn't a negative necessarily.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Not being a bad talk at all, just like we
- 12:22Speaker 3: think it's run its course as a team and we're
- 12:24Speaker 3: gonna slit you up and see what you can do
- 12:25Speaker 3: as as singles wrestlers. That's all right, so cool, like
- 12:29Speaker 3: at least we know what's going on. That sounds great,
- 12:31Speaker 3: and then that just never ever happens.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Never let me let me ask you a question here,
- 12:37Speaker 1: let me butt in here, Brian, you hear this? Uh
- 12:43Speaker 1: where is your headspace at? Like are you excited? Like
- 12:47Speaker 1: I don't.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Yeah, we both were like cool, that's what vincing man slence,
- 12:51Speaker 3: that's what's gonna happen, you know. I mean, so you
- 12:53Speaker 3: thought like, okay, and that's this is what the next
- 12:55Speaker 3: you know, evolution of our career is. But then like
- 13:00Speaker 3: it was hard to like sink your teeth into and
- 13:01Speaker 3: get those wheelspin because then you show up next week
- 13:03Speaker 3: and it's like, okay, you have a tag magic these
- 13:04Speaker 3: guys just jobbing. Okay, next week you have a tag
- 13:07Speaker 3: munch of these guys and you're jobbing.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Oh.
- 13:08Speaker 3: One time we showed up thinking we were doing nothing
- 13:10Speaker 3: and we wrestled the Triple H and Jeff Hardy on SmackDown.
- 13:13Speaker 5: First of all that day, shit like that like that,
- 13:16Speaker 5: like first of all that day. We weren't even supposed
- 13:18Speaker 5: to be there. We just drove because it was Albany.
- 13:21Speaker 5: It was a drive from Long Island. We just showed
- 13:23Speaker 5: up and all of suden, we're wrestling Jeff Harty at
- 13:24Speaker 5: Triple H.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Yeah, you know.
- 13:27Speaker 3: This was also this very crazy time period in the
- 13:29Speaker 3: company where they like cheaped out and they did two
- 13:33Speaker 3: Smacked On TVs a month, and they would do two episodes.
- 13:36Speaker 3: They were like a double taping. And so if you
- 13:39Speaker 3: weren't on live inns, which we were no longer on
- 13:41Speaker 3: live events once we lost the belts, we would only
- 13:43Speaker 3: work two days out of an entire month.
- 13:46Speaker 5: That's that's one thousand dollars a month.
- 13:47Speaker 4: And that's five hundred shot.
- 13:49Speaker 3: I means we made one thousand dollars a month for
- 13:51Speaker 3: like basically September October November, December, January, February of oh wait,
- 13:57Speaker 3: beginning about nine but.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Also but also in this time before, but before like
- 14:04Speaker 5: we really had taken off the road, we were still
- 14:07Speaker 5: doing things like by ourselves, and like that's kind of
- 14:11Speaker 5: where like the Woo Woo and all that bs started
- 14:13Speaker 5: and we were doing it on like Morrison and Missus
- 14:15Speaker 5: Dirt Sheet, we were doing on a Col Cabanas show.
- 14:18Speaker 4: So like like we're always trying to move right.
- 14:21Speaker 5: We knew that even while we were the edgeheads, that
- 14:25Speaker 5: people just saw us as the edge guys. As Sean
- 14:27Speaker 5: Michaels would say, nobody knew who Zach Ryder was, nobody
- 14:31Speaker 5: who Kurt Hawkins was. You'd be like walking down the
- 14:34Speaker 5: hall like by yourself and someone were like, hey, guys,
- 14:36Speaker 5: but it's only me. There's that you know, nobody knew
- 14:40Speaker 5: who we were, so we we had to be separate
- 14:41Speaker 5: and look different, and that's why eventually.
- 14:44Speaker 3: My favorite was when Charlie has started his supplement company
- 14:48Speaker 3: and he's pitching Brosky so hard, talking to like they're
- 14:50Speaker 3: best friends.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Then he's like, you know, and then he.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Had to like so obviously look at his boots and
- 14:55Speaker 3: be like rider like he had no idea what his
- 14:57Speaker 3: name was, like get out of here.
- 15:00Speaker 4: So it was definitely like a weird time.
- 15:02Speaker 5: This is also the time where we're on that that
- 15:06Speaker 5: tour of Mexico with the Undertaker head snap and the
- 15:09Speaker 5: cell phone, and that's the real kiss of death. Not
- 15:13Speaker 5: like not proven though, no no, no, no, not proven at all,
- 15:17Speaker 5: but like that I felt like, yeah, it felt like it.
- 15:20Speaker 5: And if you don't know that story of the story
- 15:22Speaker 5: goes this is this is pre social media, pre iPhones,
- 15:26Speaker 5: where like everyone was supposed to be at the monitor.
- 15:29Speaker 5: Nowadays people don't even watch about it. People leave early.
- 15:31Speaker 5: I'm not saying that's right or wrong, but back in
- 15:33Speaker 5: the day, you were supposed to watch the monitor. Fuck
- 15:36Speaker 5: how many nights in a row did we see Triple
- 15:38Speaker 5: HROs Vladimir Kaslow. That's not an excuses the truth though,
- 15:41Speaker 5: And like we got out our cell phones.
- 15:45Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 15:45Speaker 5: I was probably texting my girlfri at the time. Who
- 15:47Speaker 5: knows we were doing? And Undertaker does that the head snap.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I've always pleaded partially innocent in this. I swear to god,
- 15:55Speaker 3: I was sitting there watching kus Off and Triple H
- 15:57Speaker 3: for the fourth night in a row, just eyeballs leading,
- 16:00Speaker 3: and I went to check the time. I literally just
- 16:02Speaker 3: pulled my phone out and went like this, and I hear, god,
- 16:05Speaker 3: damn it. And then I looked down the row and
- 16:06Speaker 3: it's like Brosky clearly texting it, and Shelton Benjamin clearly
- 16:09Speaker 3: texting like in a row with me, and we all
- 16:11Speaker 3: kind of oh shit, and take her cut this whole
- 16:13Speaker 3: promo about you know, you know you gotta want to
- 16:16Speaker 3: watch the man. I mean, he's right, it's like a
- 16:17Speaker 3: veteran old school thing, totally respect thing or whatever.
- 16:21Speaker 5: And Mark Henry pulls his side, says, we need to apologist.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Take her, take her super cool about it, says we
- 16:27Speaker 5: need to apologize to the guys in the main event.
- 16:29Speaker 5: I don't even know if we wented to Bladerber cause
- 16:31Speaker 5: Off did.
- 16:32Speaker 3: He was. He's like our buddy from DePaul. He's to
- 16:35Speaker 3: drive us around like hang out.
- 16:37Speaker 5: Yeah, but I'll never forget going to apologist. Triple Achu
- 16:40Speaker 5: doesn't know what we did, so we.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Have to like stool ourselves off.
- 16:44Speaker 5: Oh it's his private dress room. Uh Hunter, sorry, we
- 16:47Speaker 5: were on our phones during your match.
- 16:49Speaker 4: And he like played off like he didn't care. But
- 16:52Speaker 4: I don't think he really did care.
- 16:53Speaker 5: No, no, but like it's none of this stuff did
- 16:56Speaker 5: us any favors.
- 16:57Speaker 1: So what makes you think it was a kiss of death?
- 16:59Speaker 1: Like you just start I just.
- 17:00Speaker 4: Spell like that because like we had just lost the belts.
- 17:02Speaker 3: We never really got booked again after this, you know,
- 17:05Speaker 3: because yeah, because then it was like where we weren't
- 17:07Speaker 3: Taker cut this weird like we had like the post
- 17:11Speaker 3: uh tour, like locker room toast where like normally everyone says.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Oh, a great too, or a great job, but this
- 17:16Speaker 4: this one Taker.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Cut this like weird promo that like houses are down
- 17:19Speaker 3: and we all have to like shape up and be
- 17:21Speaker 3: at our best and kind of thing. It's just like
- 17:23Speaker 3: a little it was I don't know, it was a
- 17:25Speaker 3: lot yeah once, I guess.
- 17:28Speaker 5: And like Brian said, like you know, we were we were
- 17:30Speaker 5: just getting brought to random TVs to like Wrestle the
- 17:33Speaker 5: Great Colleen a handicap match over Finelli and Hornswaggle.
- 17:37Speaker 3: A Battle Royal, Like we just kept being booked, like
- 17:40Speaker 3: we were never unbooked, and we'd say, like, what about
- 17:42Speaker 3: what we talked about and then even we might have
- 17:44Speaker 3: talked about this, we had we finally made them make
- 17:47Speaker 3: that appointment for us to go up to Stanford.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Right.
- 17:50Speaker 5: We we filmed something with my cousin, Geographena. It's on YouTube.
- 17:52Speaker 5: We put it up there before where it's like, I
- 17:55Speaker 5: don't know why we kept pitching it Hawkins and Riders up,
- 17:57Speaker 5: but we were because we realized they weren't doing the
- 18:00Speaker 5: individual stuff and so we were trying to.
- 18:01Speaker 3: We were I don't think we either one of us
- 18:03Speaker 3: thought we were ready, like we were still comfortable, like
- 18:06Speaker 3: we were just I thought we were honestly, literally, I
- 18:08Speaker 3: thought we were just clicking as a team as they
- 18:11Speaker 3: wanted to break us up kind of thing, you know,
- 18:13Speaker 3: just becoming you know, not green boys, and you know,
- 18:17Speaker 3: on our way to becoming polished wrestlers, you know.
- 18:19Speaker 4: And I still I still feel that way, sure.
- 18:21Speaker 5: And and the video is up on our YouTube channel
- 18:23Speaker 5: where it's essentially just me being the woo woo annoying
- 18:25Speaker 5: over the top guy, and Brian is more like putting
- 18:28Speaker 5: his hands in his face, like you know, hands in
- 18:31Speaker 5: his hands, his pomp, his face is palm like just
- 18:33Speaker 5: so like fed up, just pull off over the top.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Guy in the straight guy like classic you know, comedy
- 18:39Speaker 3: one on one routine.
- 18:41Speaker 4: And either way you would just know.
- 18:43Speaker 5: Okay, it was just a better way to separate Hawkins
- 18:47Speaker 5: and Rider, because we're just two guys who kind of
- 18:49Speaker 5: look like in the trunks and the the trunks and
- 18:52Speaker 5: the long tights weren't the big enough difference. Weren't being
- 18:55Speaker 5: a big enough difference.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Also, at this time, Edge comes back of that Survivor
- 18:58Speaker 3: series and like wins the belt right like the first night,
- 19:00Speaker 3: and I'm like, oh, we're back together, and he's like,
- 19:02Speaker 3: I think we might be. I remember him saying that too,
- 19:04Speaker 3: where I thought like, Okay, we're just gonna roll back
- 19:05Speaker 3: into a lot familiar.
- 19:06Speaker 4: At one point I thought that was the case.
- 19:08Speaker 1: It never happened.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Vicky came and told us that too, and I was like, oh, okay,
- 19:12Speaker 3: so this is really we're really not going to do
- 19:14Speaker 3: this singles thing.
- 19:15Speaker 1: So Edge was only off from summer salaminous Survivor series. Yes, okay,
- 19:22Speaker 1: so real quick, Brian, what were you in your mind?
- 19:26Speaker 1: Oh crap, I have to do a singles run? What
- 19:28Speaker 1: what's like the first thought? Are you are you landing
- 19:32Speaker 1: on this Prince of Queen's thing at all?
- 19:34Speaker 4: No? Not even close. I don't remember. I just I
- 19:36Speaker 4: was still so green and still trying to find myself.
- 19:38Speaker 4: I had no.
- 19:39Speaker 3: It was so far from my mind. And like when
- 19:41Speaker 3: Vince said it was so sprung on me that I
- 19:43Speaker 3: had no. I wasn't even thinking about it. You know,
- 19:45Speaker 3: I wasn't even planning it. I had I had nothing.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Really, you know that, BROSI you've had this club guy
- 19:53Speaker 1: in your head.
- 19:54Speaker 5: Well, you know, it started off as just being like
- 19:56Speaker 5: the annoying guy, but then like I knew, I wanted
- 19:59Speaker 5: to cut my hand and blah blah blah blah. And
- 20:01Speaker 5: even the beginning of two thousand and nine, you know,
- 20:04Speaker 5: whether they're not bringing us or you know, for instance,
- 20:07Speaker 5: like we're in that that WrestleMania Lumberjack is like Hawkins
- 20:11Speaker 5: and Rider guys. You know, like we're still a team.
- 20:13Speaker 5: Then at WrestleMania, you know, in theory we might even
- 20:17Speaker 5: have had an access match.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Maybe not. I'm not quite sure. That's the fame? Are
- 20:21Speaker 4: you kidding me? That's the famous that's yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 5: Oh Jesus Christ. Okay, so we have it. We haven't
- 20:28Speaker 5: had matches as a team. Okay, so now singles matches,
- 20:33Speaker 5: I haven't I want to say, I want to say
- 20:36Speaker 5: for it.
- 20:37Speaker 3: In like oh nine, we're just like flat out like
- 20:39Speaker 3: not brought to TVs unless we can drive to them.
- 20:41Speaker 3: So that's like a lot of not wrestling. I've always
- 20:45Speaker 3: had this thing. I mean, maybe it's from like my
- 20:47Speaker 3: sports background, but I love the mark got attest to this,
- 20:49Speaker 3: like for my school.
- 20:50Speaker 4: I just love training.
- 20:50Speaker 3: I just I enjoy it makes me feel better, it
- 20:53Speaker 3: makes my body feel better, it makes me feel like mentally.
- 20:55Speaker 4: Sharper about wrestling. I don't know what it is. I
- 20:58Speaker 4: do not like to miss.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I have to wrestle one day a week every week
- 21:01Speaker 3: to stay where I want to stay. If I miss
- 21:04Speaker 3: a week, which happens sometimes time, I hate it. So
- 21:06Speaker 3: when we were off at all this time, I was
- 21:07Speaker 3: constantly going down ywc, rolling around whatever, doing everything I could,
- 21:11Speaker 3: always in the ring.
- 21:12Speaker 4: So we get called for Mania a week whatever.
- 21:15Speaker 3: We have all these responsibilities, access signing, access matches, and
- 21:17Speaker 3: we're eventually going to be lumberjacks on the kickoff thing
- 21:20Speaker 3: or whatever it was.
- 21:21Speaker 4: I barely I don't even remember.
- 21:22Speaker 3: But uh so, for whatever reason, the access match was
- 21:27Speaker 3: Broski versus Charlie Haas with me as the valet is
- 21:32Speaker 3: in during the day, maybe like a five o'clock session
- 21:35Speaker 3: the eight o'clock was me vers Jimmy Wang Yang. I
- 21:38Speaker 3: was like, okay, cool, and then Broski and Charlie Hass
- 21:42Speaker 3: proceed to have this like epic match that I've talked
- 21:47Speaker 3: about with the boys for just years since it's happened.
- 21:50Speaker 5: I mean, listen, I was so blown up. And I'm
- 21:53Speaker 5: not making an excuse, but I was. I was so
- 21:54Speaker 5: blown up. I almost injury in there.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Charlie's the funniest part spaked in injury.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Charlie is in the same boat, except opposite mindset. Like
- 22:04Speaker 3: Brosky's like, oh shit, I haven't wrestled, I don't want
- 22:06Speaker 3: to do a loast stuff. Charlie's going he hasn't been
- 22:07Speaker 3: booked either on the raw side, and he's mad and
- 22:10Speaker 3: wants to like just go and like give it his all.
- 22:13Speaker 3: And it's in his like hometown basically, so his family
- 22:16Speaker 3: was there, and he's like pretty.
- 22:17Speaker 5: A video camera is recording of this somewhere.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Like click click camp, and he like he like wanted
- 22:23Speaker 3: to go in, and Broskey's like okay and doesn't shut
- 22:26Speaker 3: down Anyways, Charlie asked back then especially was pretty scary
- 22:29Speaker 3: and like, uh, you know, Brosceley doesn't shut down. One
- 22:31Speaker 3: idea goes with everything, and I'm out there with the
- 22:34Speaker 3: best seat in the house, just like holy shit, because
- 22:37Speaker 3: I could just tell, knowing how well I know him,
- 22:39Speaker 3: that he's done.
- 22:40Speaker 4: He's physically exhausted, and they have.
- 22:42Speaker 5: Like been like wasn't even like only my lungs like
- 22:46Speaker 5: giving out.
- 22:47Speaker 4: It was the legs, dude, what your legs go? You're done.
- 22:50Speaker 3: So like I see Brosky as his hold on and
- 22:52Speaker 3: they aven't got to the comeback again.
- 22:53Speaker 4: I'm like, he's done.
- 22:54Speaker 3: He's done, Like he's barely he barely hold like a
- 22:56Speaker 3: fake chin lock on Charlie House.
- 22:58Speaker 4: He's so blown up, and they to do.
- 23:00Speaker 3: The little comeback, which I kind of knew what it
- 23:02Speaker 3: was because I was Charlie was calling it like a
- 23:03Speaker 3: madman like in the back, so I knew it was something.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Find out the whole jab jab jab Rocky Johnson's shuffle.
- 23:12Speaker 3: That's the big one where Brosky finally bumps and then
- 23:14Speaker 3: he's supposed to take off and come with something, and
- 23:17Speaker 3: that starts like the bumping free of Brosiy's getting up,
- 23:19Speaker 3: getting down, getting up, getting down and taking all his
- 23:22Speaker 3: so he does it jab jab jab breaks the whole
- 23:24Speaker 3: whatever boom, big punch, Brocey takes a nice flap back
- 23:27Speaker 3: bump bump. He's laying there. Charlie takes off to hit
- 23:30Speaker 3: the ropes. He runs back and Brocey's still just dead
- 23:33Speaker 3: flatten the ground like hasn't moved, and he's just like
- 23:35Speaker 3: I see this. He's like like he's like grab it, match,
- 23:39Speaker 3: try to pick him up his hard he's getting match
- 23:41Speaker 3: shoot legitimately using the ropes to get up because his
- 23:44Speaker 3: legs aren't working, like he's using them like he's paralyzed,
- 23:46Speaker 3: and Charlie's just speeding the crap out of him. And
- 23:48Speaker 3: then like the worst part about this on top of
- 23:51Speaker 3: all and I'm even at the worst part, but it
- 23:52Speaker 3: added awful aspect of this match. I remember the agent
- 23:56Speaker 3: was Tony Garia, who had no input, but he just goes,
- 24:00Speaker 3: I would really like to see you Worley bird spot
- 24:02Speaker 3: in there, which means an airplane spin, and he went
- 24:05Speaker 3: and eventually Charlie gets broke me up an airplane spinning.
- 24:07Speaker 3: I feed and take like the Terry Funk ladder like
- 24:11Speaker 3: leg bump from Brosky, like on top of this like
- 24:14Speaker 3: debacle that's going on. And then Charlie got a promo
- 24:17Speaker 3: on Brosky the back for being a professional and shitty.
- 24:20Speaker 4: I don't, I don't.
- 24:21Speaker 5: I don't remember that point you said you embarrassed me
- 24:23Speaker 5: out there, kid, I don't know.
- 24:24Speaker 4: If I remember that. But anyway, long story short.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I'm also I'm also like, oh shit, I gotta put
- 24:31Speaker 3: up her. Shut up now, I gotta have a match too,
- 24:33Speaker 3: Like tonight.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Were you supposed to wrestle Jimmy Yang or Hurricane Jimmy
- 24:37Speaker 4: Yang in his singles and.
- 24:39Speaker 5: Then Hurricane didn't want to go to Hall of Fame,
- 24:40Speaker 5: so some Hurricane told Krono he'd rather wrestle Access than
- 24:44Speaker 5: go to the Hall of Fame.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Got out of it.
- 24:45Speaker 5: Yeah, so we had a fun ass tag team match.
- 24:47Speaker 4: I totally redeem.
- 24:49Speaker 3: Unreal night and Day, like awesome tag match with Hurricane
- 24:55Speaker 3: Jimmy Yang.
- 24:55Speaker 4: It was so fun.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Hurricane he actually he's the first time he's Hurricane and
- 25:00Speaker 3: Gregor Helms in like years and gets this big pop
- 25:02Speaker 3: and it was like, I've wrestling in Access at least
- 25:06Speaker 3: back then. I can't say that anymore because now it's
- 25:08Speaker 3: like a little different. Now they like make a big,
- 25:11Speaker 3: you know, NXT spectacle of it. But back then you're
- 25:13Speaker 3: literally just like you're almost like a farm anilyt a
- 25:16Speaker 3: petting zoo, like people want to stop buying, you know,
- 25:19Speaker 3: they want to stop buying check it out? Maybe so
- 25:21Speaker 3: like it's never fun. This was the only time I
- 25:24Speaker 3: had an enjoyable experience wrestling at Access.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Huh what's that tag?
- 25:28Speaker 1: All right? So help me out? When does do things change?
- 25:33Speaker 1: And are we talking about that?
- 25:34Speaker 5: Then there's then there's then there's the draft a couple
- 25:36Speaker 5: of weeks later, and that's a shoot draft. And I
- 25:40Speaker 5: remember I found out going to w E dot Com
- 25:42Speaker 5: on my Razor phone that I hadn't drafted.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Okay, time out, So you see this thoughts in your head? Please?
- 25:52Speaker 5: Uh well, I mean I think at that time we
- 25:55Speaker 5: both knew like we needed to change. Also keep in
- 25:58Speaker 5: mind this now this has never been proven either, but
- 26:00Speaker 5: like the program had come out for that year and
- 26:03Speaker 5: we're not in it, and I was like, oh no,
- 26:06Speaker 5: Like do they know we're gonna get released? Like why
- 26:08Speaker 5: would we not be in the program? That was just
- 26:11Speaker 5: like a little minor thing. But also at the same time,
- 26:13Speaker 5: on the flip side, things like our action figures were
- 26:15Speaker 5: finally starting to come out. We were in our first
- 26:16Speaker 5: video game, because things are you know, always a year behind.
- 26:19Speaker 5: So while we're doing nothing on TV, we get like
- 26:22Speaker 5: three action figures in a row. We get the Treacher's Trio,
- 26:25Speaker 5: the Deluxe Aggression, the uh maybe I think they all
- 26:28Speaker 5: come out at the same time, the Microaggression, the Build Unbrawler.
- 26:32Speaker 5: So in like that sense is like a cool, like
- 26:34Speaker 5: career high, but like the reality is, you know, you're
- 26:38Speaker 5: not to shit on TV and not even getting brought
- 26:40Speaker 5: to TV. Yeah, and you're not making money.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:44Speaker 1: So Brian, where do you go in this draft?
- 26:46Speaker 3: I stayed on SmackDown technically okay, big big technically bomb
- 26:50Speaker 3: in that one.
- 26:51Speaker 1: So where do things go for you? Brosky? Right away?
- 26:55Speaker 5: I remember ed Koski was the right on ACW. I
- 27:01Speaker 5: think like we had pitched him this this video when
- 27:05Speaker 5: we showed it to him, him and Dave Kapoor. I
- 27:07Speaker 5: remember one or the other or both when we went
- 27:10Speaker 5: to the office at one time.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Uh and he.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Side note that meeting. When we go to Stanford, we
- 27:16Speaker 3: never get into see Vince we seek, yeah, we never
- 27:19Speaker 3: see show him this video. And all I really remember is, uh,
- 27:24Speaker 3: we were sat in Coronto's office forever and there was
- 27:26Speaker 3: a stack of like DVDs and TVs and stuff, and
- 27:29Speaker 3: it literally said like Ricky or Tz ECW match and
- 27:33Speaker 3: had just happened. And no one really knows this because
- 27:35Speaker 3: it's edited off TV, but there's like a six man
- 27:37Speaker 3: on ECW and Ricky Ortz I think does the worst
- 27:41Speaker 3: springboard in the history of pro wrestling. And we just
- 27:45Speaker 3: kept watching it over and over with Coronto like having
- 27:48Speaker 3: a blast, like like that's all I really remember about it,
- 27:51Speaker 3: like you know, relive in that again.
- 27:53Speaker 5: Right, So everything kind of once I got drafted, I
- 27:57Speaker 5: think within the week or two, I'm on TV right
- 28:01Speaker 5: away as the new character. I didn't even have new
- 28:04Speaker 5: gear the first the first week, I'm wearing the gear
- 28:07Speaker 5: that I wore at that WrestleMania Battle Royal, which essentially
- 28:11Speaker 5: my regular gear is a different color. And I went
- 28:13Speaker 5: to Express or I had an Express, you know the store.
- 28:17Speaker 5: Express had the pop collar dress shirt. I had like
- 28:21Speaker 5: a headband that was like a Meyer and Matthew's purple headband.
- 28:24Speaker 5: And I cut my hair and and that was it.
- 28:26Speaker 5: It was The Woo Woo guy did a backstage thing
- 28:28Speaker 5: on ECW with Tiffany, the general manager, kind of saying
- 28:31Speaker 5: who I was, and then I wrestle Finley that night
- 28:36Speaker 5: on Superstars, and at the time Superstars it wasn't like
- 28:39Speaker 5: the total Jabron show, yet it was still like part
- 28:41Speaker 5: of the storyline. So I lose my debut match against Finley.
- 28:46Speaker 5: I lose, and then he takes my only headband and
- 28:48Speaker 5: throws it into the crowd. So I need to take
- 28:50Speaker 5: the still photo. So the still photo from my debut
- 28:54Speaker 5: I'm wearing an MVP headband.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Just the other way. You know, you don't see the
- 28:59Speaker 4: logo fun fit act.
- 29:01Speaker 1: So tell me about the hair like I hated.
- 29:09Speaker 4: No. No, I went to Michael the barber, like the
- 29:12Speaker 4: day before.
- 29:13Speaker 1: How do you know that you can now you have
- 29:14Speaker 1: the permission to go do this.
- 29:16Speaker 5: I asked, Okay, I said, can I cut my hair?
- 29:18Speaker 1: Yes? Once you got drafted, get drafted from me. You
- 29:22Speaker 1: know you're split. Can I cut my hair?
- 29:24Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 29:24Speaker 5: I hadn't asking before, but the answer was always no
- 29:27Speaker 5: because I knew like I wanted to be like this,
- 29:29Speaker 5: this character because at this time we're not being brought
- 29:32Speaker 5: to TV. So really I'm just being a delinquent with
- 29:35Speaker 5: my friends, going out, like to the bars and the
- 29:37Speaker 5: clubs of Long Island. New York City all the time,
- 29:40Speaker 5: and I'm basing this character off people I hate, like
- 29:42Speaker 5: the douchebags who are out there with the popped up
- 29:45Speaker 5: the collar and the song like essentially Jersey Shore before
- 29:48Speaker 5: it was Jersey Shore on TV, like it was a
- 29:50Speaker 5: real thing on in Jersey, New York, Long Island. I
- 29:53Speaker 5: just wanted to be that because I knew I hated it,
- 29:55Speaker 5: and I knew I could be it and make people
- 29:58Speaker 5: hate me.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Hmm, all right, so Brian, where do you? What do
- 30:02Speaker 1: you do from here?
- 30:04Speaker 4: So?
- 30:06Speaker 3: Like, like I said, I had no clue who I
- 30:09Speaker 3: was as a singles wrestler or what I was going
- 30:11Speaker 3: to do, And then the creative didn't either like nothing
- 30:16Speaker 3: was brought to me or they had nothing for me.
- 30:18Speaker 3: And I stayed on SmackDown, but I still had no travel,
- 30:21Speaker 3: so I was not going.
- 30:22Speaker 4: To TVs or doing anything.
- 30:25Speaker 3: There was a SmackDown at the garden where I remember
- 30:29Speaker 3: I just showed up and I like talked to my
- 30:31Speaker 3: Glaiz and like try to get some answers, and I
- 30:33Speaker 3: could tell there was nothing happening, and that this lasted
- 30:37Speaker 3: for about I want to say, only like two three weeks,
- 30:41Speaker 3: and I saw the riding on the wall, and I
- 30:42Speaker 3: was like, well, I've been around long enough to see that,
- 30:44Speaker 3: like this is like.
- 30:45Speaker 4: The beginning of end for people.
- 30:47Speaker 3: And to be honest, I was getting very confident as
- 30:51Speaker 3: a wrestler at this point, you know, like my confidence
- 30:53Speaker 3: had really grown, my arrogance had really grown.
- 30:55Speaker 4: And I was like pissed off.
- 30:57Speaker 3: So I called Johnny East and I said, like I understand,
- 31:00Speaker 3: Like you know, he even said to me like, well,
- 31:02Speaker 3: nobody thinks you suck or anything like we don't want
- 31:05Speaker 3: to fire you or we and we don't want to
- 31:07Speaker 3: send you to developmental or anything like that.
- 31:09Speaker 4: But I said, but I'll just go.
- 31:10Speaker 3: I said, I'm you know, I'm twenty four, I'm single,
- 31:14Speaker 3: Like I don't own a house.
- 31:15Speaker 4: Like, I'll just go. I said, I'll just go to Florida.
- 31:17Speaker 3: If they have nothing for me, at least I know there,
- 31:19Speaker 3: I'll be on TV every week, I'll get my reps.
- 31:21Speaker 3: I'll work and you guys will see me and see
- 31:23Speaker 3: me grow, and you know, I'll figure it out. And
- 31:26Speaker 3: uh so that's why I told him, and he's like fine.
- 31:29Speaker 3: But then that also because I wasn't being sent there,
- 31:32Speaker 3: I didn't get paid to go there. For a full year,
- 31:34Speaker 3: so I had to live off my savings and uh
- 31:37Speaker 3: the money I earned in the edge head run.
- 31:39Speaker 4: Wow.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Yeah, so but what at what point are you in FCW,
- 31:43Speaker 1: like moved in and who.
- 31:44Speaker 3: I go so that that draft is like April, I
- 31:48Speaker 3: want to say I drove or maybe I just flew
- 31:51Speaker 3: and I went for a month and I lived with
- 31:53Speaker 3: Trumperetta and his Uh well it's not even a one
- 31:56Speaker 3: bedroom what's that like a what's that called a studio apartment?
- 32:00Speaker 3: I lived with trimprad for a month and I went like,
- 32:03Speaker 3: got it situated, signed the least or whatever, went back,
- 32:06Speaker 3: and then I drove down and really moved moved and
- 32:08Speaker 3: we got like a new meet him, got a nice
- 32:10Speaker 3: two bedroom apartment to share, and that's ow it all.
- 32:13Speaker 4: And it was one of, if not the you know.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Besides, you know, marrying my wife is one of the
- 32:18Speaker 3: best decisions in my life. For sure, saved my career,
- 32:21Speaker 3: altered me as a pro wrestler, just you know, it
- 32:24Speaker 3: was the right thing to do because I didn't.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Know who or what I was as a singles wrestler, and.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Then this way I really found out, you know, and
- 32:32Speaker 3: I stayed like I think trust me. I know, even
- 32:35Speaker 3: people in the company were like, holy shit, I can't
- 32:37Speaker 3: believe you did that. You know, even Johnny aces like
- 32:38Speaker 3: we don't think you suck, like we don't want you
- 32:40Speaker 3: to go, like we're not sending you there. I'm like,
- 32:42Speaker 3: all right, I'm just gonna go and I'm going to
- 32:44Speaker 3: out wrestle everybody and out shine these dudes that you
- 32:45Speaker 3: signed that you think are going to be something and
- 32:48Speaker 3: leapfrog them. And that's eventually what I did. You know,
- 32:51Speaker 3: it was a great idea, right all.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Right, let's put a pin in me asking you guys questions.
- 32:56Speaker 1: So we've set the scene big time right now on
- 32:58Speaker 1: what sort of happened for at least that first half.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Let's ask you guys some questions from the people, and
- 33:04Speaker 1: then if there's any holes there, I will I will
- 33:06Speaker 1: finish us up. John Fisher, did you notice anyone in
- 33:10Speaker 1: the company, wrestlers or otherwise treating you differently backstage after
- 33:13Speaker 1: the breakup?
- 33:15Speaker 4: No?
- 33:16Speaker 3: Uh, not with each other From Edge for sure, I
- 33:19Speaker 3: felt like you're like out of sight, out of mind,
- 33:22Speaker 3: jabrown to people instead of like Edges guys and tag
- 33:25Speaker 3: team champions.
- 33:26Speaker 4: You do feel a difference there.
- 33:28Speaker 3: You know where where Michael Ays might just walk past
- 33:30Speaker 3: you the hallway instead of acknowledge you.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Oh yeah, but none of the boys. Not the boys now,
- 33:35Speaker 4: because then we'd already won that won the boys over.
- 33:37Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah for sure.
- 33:39Speaker 5: Like Michael Hayes is like I like Michael Hayes. I
- 33:42Speaker 5: have nothing bad to say about him, but like he's
- 33:46Speaker 5: really into you if the company is and he's not
- 33:48Speaker 5: into you the companies now.
- 33:49Speaker 4: Yes, agreed, agreed, Yeah.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Jared Saidwick, we know Broski becomes a woou guy in
- 33:55Speaker 1: ww ECW. Was there a gimmick that Brian wanted to
- 33:58Speaker 1: use but never got the go ahead to do so
- 34:01Speaker 1: from Vincent Creative? So we just talked about it. But
- 34:04Speaker 1: was there ever a gimmick that you sort.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Of show when I when I got right to uh
- 34:09Speaker 3: FCW is also right when uh Lance Archer got there, and.
- 34:14Speaker 4: I'm like, this dude's money's big.
- 34:15Speaker 3: I already knew, you know, Johnny As and Vince Love
- 34:18Speaker 3: big dudes like this is gonna work out. And that
- 34:20Speaker 3: show Rock of Love was on TV and I would
- 34:22Speaker 3: watch it from time to time, So I wanted to
- 34:25Speaker 3: be Brett Michaels like the love lorn and he was
- 34:28Speaker 3: like my security, my bodyguard, like a basically a Sean
- 34:31Speaker 3: Diesel thing, and I pitched that, you know, and that
- 34:34Speaker 3: was like what I wanted, which is nuts because we eventually,
- 34:37Speaker 3: you know, it got shut down and no, no, no
- 34:39Speaker 3: biers on that. But like a year later we got
- 34:41Speaker 3: called up together as at Tag team, literally out of
- 34:43Speaker 3: thin air.
- 34:44Speaker 4: So I thought that always that was kind of funny.
- 34:46Speaker 3: But I thought it was kind of a funny gimmick
- 34:47Speaker 3: that I'm like looking for love and I had this
- 34:49Speaker 3: like necklace with like a heart on it that I
- 34:51Speaker 3: was supposed to post to give the girl, like when
- 34:53Speaker 3: I find the diva that I you know, I I
- 34:55Speaker 3: choose or whatever, and I get caught, you know, messing
- 34:58Speaker 3: around on an other be very entertaining.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's funny. That's cool. I never even heard
- 35:03Speaker 1: that ever. I know, Nathan Ramos, If y'all are able
- 35:07Speaker 1: to pull back the curtain a bit, how far in
- 35:09Speaker 1: advance were you were y'all told about winning the tag
- 35:12Speaker 1: titles for the first time, and was there any nerves
- 35:15Speaker 1: going into that match knowing y'all are going.
- 35:17Speaker 5: Over minutes, I mean not minutes like that earlier in
- 35:20Speaker 5: that day before we were going over it.
- 35:22Speaker 4: You know.
- 35:22Speaker 5: I remember the night before wherever we were, we had
- 35:25Speaker 5: like a run through the match, and obviously we didn't win, yeah,
- 35:28Speaker 5: which melbody, but you know that finish wasn't going to
- 35:31Speaker 5: be different.
- 35:32Speaker 3: But that made me way more comfortable because we like
- 35:34Speaker 3: did it already, so it was like almost like a
- 35:36Speaker 3: dress rehearsal, you know, with a slightly different twist. So
- 35:39Speaker 3: like that did take a lot of the nerves out
- 35:41Speaker 3: of it. Also, going first always like feels easier, you know,
- 35:47Speaker 3: and so that anticipation, like the show is going on
- 35:49Speaker 3: and you're just waiting, and you're that fucking excite, that
- 35:54Speaker 3: excitements like in your belly, like I love wrestling so much,
- 35:57Speaker 3: I just want to do it and get it over with.
- 35:59Speaker 4: Like that that waiting kills how many times am I
- 36:02Speaker 4: going to go over the goddamn matching? My head?
- 36:03Speaker 3: That too, that too, and then you start like playing
- 36:05Speaker 3: games in your mind and it's just like let's go, man.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Let me let me go first and eat that catering
- 36:09Speaker 1: Matthew Manasis. After reaching such a high and an early
- 36:13Speaker 1: part in your career and plummeting shortly after, did you
- 36:16Speaker 1: feel like that was it for you guys in the
- 36:18Speaker 1: wrestling business.
- 36:19Speaker 5: Oh man, Like listen the weird little at that the
- 36:22Speaker 5: year before we're main eventing. We're running in the main
- 36:25Speaker 5: event Edge was Undertaker as the Edge has I'm thinking, all, funck, Well,
- 36:29Speaker 5: next year we'll bring up We'll be the edgeheads like Explode.
- 36:32Speaker 5: But no, we're lumberjacks in the fucking pre show. Like
- 36:35Speaker 5: what a fall from Grace?
- 36:38Speaker 4: It was bad.
- 36:39Speaker 5: Uh, we didn't give up, you know, but it's like,
- 36:42Speaker 5: what can you really do? But that we made all
- 36:44Speaker 5: those videos, we were pitching it. We were trying this stuff,
- 36:47Speaker 5: you know, and thank you like Ebana and Misson Morrison
- 36:49Speaker 5: for letting us be on their their web shows, But like,
- 36:52Speaker 5: what else can.
- 36:53Speaker 4: We really do?
- 36:53Speaker 5: I mean, I get like we weren't being brought to TV.
- 36:57Speaker 3: I'm this may sound nuts, but I've always been very
- 37:00Speaker 3: grateful for the highs and lows of that I've experienced
- 37:03Speaker 3: in wrestling, because he makes you appreciate them all. You know,
- 37:05Speaker 3: you're not like some spoiled baby who's you know, only
- 37:08Speaker 3: been pushed to the moon by ww and paid all
- 37:11Speaker 3: this money. You know, it really helped us build like
- 37:13Speaker 3: character as wrestlers. As men makes you appreciate, you know,
- 37:16Speaker 3: the little things, the big things and all that. I
- 37:19Speaker 3: think it's just has given me a better peace of mind.
- 37:21Speaker 3: And yeah, and I'm also a very big Everything happens
- 37:24Speaker 3: for a reason guy, So you know I agree too, and.
- 37:28Speaker 5: You know to that point, like of course, do I
- 37:30Speaker 5: wish I was always like a in a better spot
- 37:34Speaker 5: and you know I made all his money. It was
- 37:35Speaker 5: all the pay per views and like sure, sure, but
- 37:37Speaker 5: like on the flip side, every like title everyone was
- 37:41Speaker 5: like a moment and was like a literally like scratching
- 37:43Speaker 5: claw friend, like people remember and you know, like whether
- 37:46Speaker 5: it was like that US title win after the YouTube
- 37:48Speaker 5: show where that I see a mania or when we
- 37:50Speaker 5: won you know, MetLife, like those were like not more
- 37:54Speaker 5: than just title wins.
- 37:55Speaker 4: They were like moments.
- 37:56Speaker 5: I feel like I feel like they were so big
- 37:59Speaker 5: because other people.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Really, I don't think people are going up to like
- 38:03Speaker 3: Godfather or like ten Zi being like, man, I remember
- 38:06Speaker 3: when you won the icy title. I'll never forget it,
- 38:08Speaker 3: you know what I mean? Like, yeah, they did that
- 38:10Speaker 3: and it was accomplishment. But like I do feel like
- 38:12Speaker 3: ours meant something when they happened, and there were moments.
- 38:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I think our first tag team title win was
- 38:18Speaker 5: a regular like TENSEI Godfather win, but like, I.
- 38:21Speaker 4: Don't know what I think. So in our hometown and
- 38:23Speaker 4: the open.
- 38:24Speaker 5: For us, it was special, But like I don't think
- 38:25Speaker 5: anyone really.
- 38:26Speaker 1: As a fan, I agree with Broski on this one,
- 38:29Speaker 1: but I think I think I forgot that you guys
- 38:30Speaker 1: even won the titles when we first started doing.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Force is a big Deal's let's say it's in between
- 38:37Speaker 3: the Mania moment and Baldough winning the Icy title was
- 38:41Speaker 3: definitely yeah.
- 38:42Speaker 5: I mean I look at it right now, like I
- 38:43Speaker 5: got it like that the Ted team title, my dad
- 38:46Speaker 5: go out of me, like in a custom.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Shadow box.
- 38:50Speaker 4: That year for Christmas. I'm I haven't hang on my
- 38:52Speaker 4: wall right here.
- 38:52Speaker 3: And I love that belt, that belt like you know
- 38:55Speaker 3: Edge had and Eddie Garo had and just you know
- 38:57Speaker 3: it's it's rending Free had it and we are. We
- 39:01Speaker 3: are combined age. We have the youngest tag team champions and.
- 39:04Speaker 4: That's the asterist combined age.
- 39:06Speaker 3: I believe there's younger people like Renee de Brie was
- 39:09Speaker 3: younger and he is younger, but there's someone, oh Dominic.
- 39:15Speaker 4: Almost really screwed us. But it's combined age. It's combined age. Yes, yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, all.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Right, Michael Lpuma. Were you guys more excited or nervous
- 39:26Speaker 1: to be on your own?
- 39:29Speaker 5: I think at that point both, yeah. But I think
- 39:32Speaker 5: at that point we had been like dicked around for
- 39:35Speaker 5: like almost six months. It was like, all right, let's
- 39:37Speaker 5: let's let's fucking go, and somethings gotta change.
- 39:39Speaker 3: The other thing is, like I said, I think we're
- 39:41Speaker 3: both like gaining confidence as wrestlers. But also, as we said,
- 39:45Speaker 3: we both have never ever been singles wrestlers. Never like
- 39:50Speaker 3: there's a handful of literally probably.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Like Broski had that run in w t W.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Well professional as a trained wrestler, I want to say
- 39:59Speaker 3: we' I would say we each had less than five
- 40:03Speaker 3: five or less singles matches to our name at this.
- 40:05Speaker 4: Point, probably no more than ten. No way, no way.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Wow, that is insane, I know.
- 40:12Speaker 4: So yeah, so that was a big like learning curve
- 40:14Speaker 4: for sure.
- 40:15Speaker 1: All right, Joey beans, did you want to feud with
- 40:18Speaker 1: each other? If you did, would you guys have wanted
- 40:21Speaker 1: edge involved somehow?
- 40:23Speaker 3: I think at that time it was no, there's no
- 40:27Speaker 3: steak in us, So what's the point of fuding. I yeah,
- 40:32Speaker 3: I knew that when I.
- 40:33Speaker 5: Became the Woo guy, I needed to be as different
- 40:35Speaker 5: than Edge and Zach Ryder as an edgehead and curt
- 40:38Speaker 5: Angs as possible.
- 40:39Speaker 4: So I cut my hair.
- 40:40Speaker 5: I had the one legged tights, you know, the colorful outfits,
- 40:44Speaker 5: the sunglasses, all that, because I knew that if people
- 40:47Speaker 5: didn't know my name was Zach Ryder, they were, oh,
- 40:49Speaker 5: that's the guy with the one legged tight So that's
- 40:51Speaker 5: the guy with the headbander.
- 40:52Speaker 4: That's the guy the woo who doesn't woo woo. You know.
- 40:55Speaker 5: I just needed to separate myself from the edgeheads and
- 40:58Speaker 5: and Edge because it worked, but it ran its course
- 41:01Speaker 5: and it was over and I just had to be
- 41:03Speaker 5: totally different.
- 41:04Speaker 3: I used to think about that when we were on
- 41:06Speaker 3: the indies. I'd be like, oh, man, you know, when
- 41:09Speaker 3: we break up and we have like this dreaming and
- 41:11Speaker 3: raven type feud. I used to think about that. But
- 41:14Speaker 3: in the other runs never because they never got to
- 41:17Speaker 3: that point.
- 41:18Speaker 4: You know.
- 41:18Speaker 5: I think the last run could have maybe gotten there,
- 41:22Speaker 5: but not like at the point it was at.
- 41:25Speaker 4: No Edgeheads run certainly not.
- 41:26Speaker 3: Definitely not and definitely not anything major brothers or you know, yeah.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Stand bor, was there a point where you guys were
- 41:35Speaker 1: really trying to separate yourselves from each other? If so,
- 41:38Speaker 1: what were some of your initial ideas? So, like, I
- 41:42Speaker 1: mean we kind of talked about this.
- 41:43Speaker 4: I mean, watch the video on YouTube.
- 41:45Speaker 3: It really it's really that's like our biggest attempt. It
- 41:47Speaker 3: was me switching the trunks, him staying along, tights not matching.
- 41:51Speaker 4: I kind of like that.
- 41:53Speaker 3: We never matched as a tag team except the edge stuff. Yeah,
- 41:57Speaker 3: you know, by accident. Maybe a couple of times we've
- 41:59Speaker 3: had like colored gear, but not you know, all.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Right, Richard Grimes, is this When Brian started using the cane,
- 42:07Speaker 1: I always thought that was a cool touch. Added how
- 42:09Speaker 1: did he come up with that?
- 42:10Speaker 4: So that's not really so uh, that's this is what
- 42:13Speaker 4: the cane is. About.
- 42:14Speaker 3: A year and a half later and I've tagged with
- 42:17Speaker 3: Archer and then I started to tag with I Do Nothing,
- 42:20Speaker 3: and then I tagged with Rex, and I just got
- 42:23Speaker 3: so infatuate with Brian Pillman, like loose Cannon era stuff,
- 42:26Speaker 3: and that's all I would watch and I was like obsessed,
- 42:29Speaker 3: and I just loved that moment when he debuts in
- 42:31Speaker 3: the cyn the lights are off and then he's just
- 42:33Speaker 3: standing there with the cane, and I thought that was
- 42:35Speaker 3: just really cool and unique.
- 42:36Speaker 4: And what I was.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Really looking for the total origin of the cane besides
- 42:41Speaker 3: that is I just wanted something to differentiate me, like
- 42:46Speaker 3: I was the white guy with the cane, you know
- 42:47Speaker 3: what I mean, Like there's just like as.
- 42:50Speaker 4: This two by four.
- 42:50Speaker 3: You know, I forethought, like people have done this for
- 42:52Speaker 3: the history of time, Like why can't I be the
- 42:54Speaker 3: cane guy?
- 42:54Speaker 4: You know?
- 42:55Speaker 1: Yep?
- 42:55Speaker 3: That was it. It's what you remember. You know, Coco
- 42:57Speaker 3: had the bird, Hawkins said the cane. That was That
- 43:00Speaker 3: was what I was trying to do.
- 43:01Speaker 1: All right, here's a good one. Brian Doposo. Well, I'm
- 43:03Speaker 1: sure the objective was sustaining at WWE once the edge
- 43:06Speaker 1: heads were split and you guys were shoveled down the
- 43:08Speaker 1: card to do either of you keep an eye on
- 43:10Speaker 1: any indies slash TNA slash, try and make any contacts
- 43:15Speaker 1: to set something up.
- 43:16Speaker 5: In case Nope, no's weren't what they ought. You can't
- 43:21Speaker 5: you couldn't like make a living on the indies back then,
- 43:23Speaker 5: especially with not off the names that we had.
- 43:26Speaker 4: Not enough.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Yeah, But on the flip side of that, I literally,
- 43:33Speaker 3: okay at this point when I go to FCW's when
- 43:35Speaker 3: i'd like really discover PWG for the first time, and
- 43:39Speaker 3: Trent and I got so into it, and we would
- 43:41Speaker 3: order it from High Spots the DVD every month, and
- 43:44Speaker 3: like Tyson Kid would come over and we'd hang out
- 43:46Speaker 3: and wah and Johnny Curtis Fandango and we'd all just
- 43:49Speaker 3: hang and watch. Always watch that. I've always up until honestly,
- 43:54Speaker 3: like like four three or four years ago, I was
- 43:58Speaker 3: always our way from day one, watched everything. See I
- 44:01Speaker 3: don't think I've ever missed impact in like twenty years,
- 44:04Speaker 3: like I've been a fan or at least like fouled
- 44:06Speaker 3: the product for twenty years as well, just because I
- 44:08Speaker 3: just love wrestling. I love it in all shapes and size,
- 44:11Speaker 3: this kind of thing. So I'm always aware of that.
- 44:13Speaker 3: I wasn't thinking of like politically, where my friends were
- 44:16Speaker 3: and if I could get in places I don't know.
- 44:17Speaker 4: I wasn't even really thinking about that.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Right Sam a yacht. What is the vibe like in
- 44:23Speaker 1: the locker room back then? Do wrestle, do veterans sit
- 44:26Speaker 1: with veterans or is everyone close? Were there any fights
- 44:30Speaker 1: or tense moments you guys witnessed.
- 44:32Speaker 5: I think this is about like the changing of the
- 44:35Speaker 5: guard time, you know, where the guys like Holly and
- 44:38Speaker 5: jbl are starting to kind of leaving, you know, it's
- 44:41Speaker 5: trying to go. Yeah, so this is definitely like the hour,
- 44:45Speaker 5: like eight oh nine is kind of like the changing
- 44:47Speaker 5: of the guard.
- 44:47Speaker 3: You know, it was fun, man, We had that year
- 44:50Speaker 3: on the road with Edge and and you know, post
- 44:53Speaker 3: Edge was an absolute blast and it was a party.
- 44:55Speaker 4: It was fun. It was you know, good camaraderie.
- 44:58Speaker 5: I made some bad decisions Ed Jimmy wad Yag and
- 45:02Speaker 5: Super Crazy and Brian Ketdrick.
- 45:04Speaker 4: Yeah, it's fun. It's a fun time.
- 45:07Speaker 1: We're young, all right, JUNIORI Boyd written very weirdly. But
- 45:14Speaker 1: do you guys think that there was some more juice
- 45:16Speaker 1: left in the law familiar thing with like the team
- 45:19Speaker 1: holding all the gold and all that.
- 45:21Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, And the Edge nothing to really do
- 45:26Speaker 3: with Matt and I, but Edge and VICKI that angle
- 45:29Speaker 3: of itself was unbelievable and had so much legs that that.
- 45:32Speaker 4: Could have kept going for who knows, you know, I.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Always, looking back, the biggest thing we should have put
- 45:37Speaker 3: pushed for a T shirt and had like a logo Yeah, yes,
- 45:40Speaker 3: you need a big, big, big mistake that I don't
- 45:42Speaker 3: know the way I kind of am.
- 45:45Speaker 4: But Broski really is like how we didn't think of that?
- 45:48Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Andrew King, was it an easy or hard
- 45:53Speaker 1: decision for Matt to cut his hair short after being
- 45:56Speaker 1: long for years? Did he have to push more? We
- 45:58Speaker 1: already talked about that.
- 45:59Speaker 3: But I hated long haird only some of the wet
- 46:02Speaker 3: some of the ugliest long hair in the history of
- 46:04Speaker 3: the business. And there's that picture of us, like brutally
- 46:08Speaker 3: hungover at that access where he wrestled Charlie Haas that
- 46:11Speaker 3: surfaced in the Facebook group, the Patreon facebook group and
- 46:15Speaker 3: the comments on I just have run wild and it's
- 46:17Speaker 3: all about Broski's hair because it literally like it's.
- 46:20Speaker 4: All like dehydrated.
- 46:21Speaker 3: It looks like a mullet almost like it hated So
- 46:26Speaker 3: what was.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Your what was your hairstyle? Like you're just going out,
- 46:29Speaker 1: so it's not wet, So what would you do?
- 46:31Speaker 5: I'd have to like slick it back and like the
- 46:33Speaker 5: mand bun, but not like this wasn't like man bun,
- 46:37Speaker 5: like brock leslar man bun, it was like like all
- 46:39Speaker 5: the way in the back, man bud, like fordy tail,
- 46:41Speaker 5: but like tuck that tail.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Yes, man, Christy Giovanni, what I did? Dias? Was there
- 46:50Speaker 1: any so that we haven't talked about? Were there any
- 46:53Speaker 1: more ideas.
- 46:53Speaker 4: That you pitched? I don't think then that we missed.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Here's a fun question. I love this. Aaron Ortiz Brian,
- 47:02Speaker 1: what was it like working with Vance Archer aka Lance Archer?
- 47:07Speaker 1: What have you seen Archer improve on other than his
- 47:09Speaker 1: hairstyle since the time period with you?
- 47:12Speaker 3: Actually his current hair. I don't know how he lives
- 47:15Speaker 3: his life with that neon red rattail. Holy smokes. I
- 47:20Speaker 3: love tagling him. I thought we really clicked. I just
- 47:22Speaker 3: like that. I never I never got it. This is
- 47:25Speaker 3: over ten years now, dude, Like this is how it
- 47:30Speaker 3: went in my head. I've done like if just about
- 47:33Speaker 3: then a year in FCW, Johnny East calls me and
- 47:36Speaker 3: he basically plays me like works me. He's like, you
- 47:38Speaker 3: know you're doing good, and we see potential and everyone
- 47:40Speaker 3: loves you, and you know we'll eventually find something for you.
- 47:42Speaker 3: So I want to get you his new contract. It
- 47:44Speaker 3: had like a smidge of a bump in the money
- 47:47Speaker 3: and I have for three more years whatever blah blah blah,
- 47:50Speaker 3: and I was like, okay, cool. I was just grateful
- 47:51Speaker 3: for it. And then next week I got called up,
- 47:54Speaker 3: so he knew I was getting called up and he
- 47:55Speaker 3: wanted to get me while I was like powerless, which
- 47:57Speaker 3: completely worked business one on one. That's Johnny as is
- 48:00Speaker 3: therefore got me. I re signed and then just had
- 48:03Speaker 3: to know whether there like we're gonna put you with Archer
- 48:04Speaker 3: and you're gonna be a team.
- 48:06Speaker 4: We're like okay, and then we're like.
- 48:08Speaker 1: And you knew him because you were training with them
- 48:09Speaker 1: and all that.
- 48:10Speaker 3: He had come to FCW, he got randomly called up
- 48:14Speaker 3: ato ECW and like fizzled out very quickly as the singles,
- 48:20Speaker 3: and then I think they decided to put us together
- 48:22Speaker 3: like which I loved, and I liked him as a dude.
- 48:24Speaker 3: You know, we were friendly enough and he was doing nothing,
- 48:26Speaker 3: and then I was it was getting me out of
- 48:28Speaker 3: develop mental so I was pumped. And then you know,
- 48:31Speaker 3: this is not my pitch nothing. We're running through top guys,
- 48:33Speaker 3: like we beat Matt already and Christian, We're jumping guys,
- 48:36Speaker 3: beating MVP.
- 48:37Speaker 4: Like doing all this cool stuff.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Or like, I want to say, a month and then
- 48:41Speaker 3: we had this like stinker match with MVP and JTG
- 48:45Speaker 3: and it just and that was on Superstars and it
- 48:47Speaker 3: just died, like just died, died dead.
- 48:51Speaker 1: What was bad about the match?
- 48:52Speaker 3: It's not really the it's just not a good match.
- 48:55Speaker 3: It's not like it's not like a it's not buff
- 48:57Speaker 3: Booker t end of wsw on raw thing like it's
- 49:01Speaker 3: just just wasn't great. I liked, I said, I don't
- 49:04Speaker 3: have the answers, and I've never got the answers, and
- 49:05Speaker 3: I don't know what that'll happen. I always thought that
- 49:09Speaker 3: some of the producers didn't dig Archer and they were
- 49:12Speaker 3: always like, not really in his corner was my thought.
- 49:15Speaker 3: I have no proof of this, nothing really, but that's
- 49:17Speaker 3: the sense I felt. And they split us for no
- 49:20Speaker 3: reason one day and then he was fired like very
- 49:22Speaker 3: shortly after they kept me so and I think that's
- 49:25Speaker 3: when the good Karon Hawkins is a good hand ish
- 49:30Speaker 3: kind of begins good hand walking.
- 49:34Speaker 1: Okay, so but okay, watching him now, has he even
- 49:39Speaker 1: proved on anything? Like what are you like? Oh damn cool?
- 49:42Speaker 3: I love the way it's now like super aggressive and
- 49:44Speaker 3: you know, completely revamped what he was.
- 49:47Speaker 4: You know.
- 49:47Speaker 3: It's funny, like if you know Lance, he's like ridiculously nice.
- 49:52Speaker 3: So to see him on television and play that guy
- 49:54Speaker 3: that's supposed to be like this menacing psychopath. That's me
- 49:56Speaker 3: and everybody. He's a big, big, you know, change, So
- 50:00Speaker 3: it's cool to see. I'm happy for him, happy for
- 50:02Speaker 3: his success. Dude, he's being at this for a long time.
- 50:05Speaker 3: He's gotten up there in age. He's got an awesome
- 50:07Speaker 3: look now. I mean, I'm happy for his success.
- 50:09Speaker 5: And he moves so well for somebody who's a so
- 50:11Speaker 5: big and not that he's so old, but like he's
- 50:14Speaker 5: not a young dude. Definitely pretty moves just as well
- 50:17Speaker 5: as he did ten fifteen years ago, and I think
- 50:20Speaker 5: he looks better.
- 50:21Speaker 3: I'm back to the beginning. I love tagging with him.
- 50:23Speaker 3: I thought it was fun as hell. I loved the dynamic,
- 50:26Speaker 3: big guy, little guy like we would do live events
- 50:28Speaker 3: ruled he used to.
- 50:29Speaker 4: He had the tramp stamp back then, and that was
- 50:31Speaker 4: like instant heat man. Everywhere we went.
- 50:33Speaker 3: It was so fun, like they were trying tramp damn
- 50:36Speaker 3: tram stamp and I go up behind and hike up
- 50:37Speaker 3: his pants and go shut h shushit. It was just
- 50:40Speaker 3: like it didn't matter where we were. If they didn't
- 50:41Speaker 3: who we were, boom you got him like it was
- 50:43Speaker 3: so it was fun man, it was really funny. He
- 50:45Speaker 3: was right cool to like something Brusky never likes to
- 50:48Speaker 3: do with me, like go over stuff or like come
- 50:49Speaker 3: up with new moves and stuff like shit like that.
- 50:52Speaker 4: He was like super cool about everything, and we really
- 50:54Speaker 4: enjoyed it. It was just so so short lived, Joseph.
- 51:00Speaker 1: After the breakup, was there any effects on your collecting habits?
- 51:04Speaker 1: Was it something that became secondary to focusing on your career?
- 51:06Speaker 4: Both? This is when this it's just.
- 51:10Speaker 5: Because because Jack's loses the license. So here's the deal.
- 51:15Speaker 5: Jack's loses the license, matel takes over. We heard through
- 51:17Speaker 5: the grape vine that we were I'm sure never even
- 51:20Speaker 5: got the prototype stage that we were supposed to be
- 51:23Speaker 5: in the first two back, but we're not.
- 51:27Speaker 4: In the like why is it the word escaping me?
- 51:30Speaker 3: We were in the like the list, right, Yeah, so
- 51:36Speaker 3: that's that's right.
- 51:38Speaker 4: So then when those lineup we made, we made the lineup, right, But.
- 51:42Speaker 5: Then when the when the actual figures come out, it's
- 51:45Speaker 5: like such a year behind that like the writings on
- 51:48Speaker 5: the wall that oh my god, there's no way they're
- 51:51Speaker 5: getting the MATEL figure me anytime soon.
- 51:54Speaker 3: I'm in f C W know and it's not even
- 51:56Speaker 3: on the table. And also like Jack's, we knew Jack's
- 52:01Speaker 3: was done because we were like, you know, hip to
- 52:03Speaker 3: the industry and what's going on, and like.
- 52:05Speaker 4: That last year of Jack's is I mean, no, no deco.
- 52:11Speaker 3: It's not even worth collecting or looking for, you know,
- 52:13Speaker 3: So like it was over man beside, I remember the
- 52:16Speaker 3: last thing I got excited about was getting uh Tyson
- 52:18Speaker 3: kids first action.
- 52:19Speaker 4: Figured that was it. I mean, then it was over
- 52:22Speaker 4: for me.
- 52:22Speaker 5: And one thing that sucked for us is that we
- 52:24Speaker 5: I mean we do have the the sample of it
- 52:26Speaker 5: and the handpaint of prototype. We were supposed to have
- 52:30Speaker 5: uh A two pack of us in the gear where
- 52:33Speaker 5: we won the take team titles. This was some of
- 52:34Speaker 5: the kids tag team title Walmart exclusive and it gets cut.
- 52:38Speaker 5: But the good news is we got the prototype.
- 52:41Speaker 4: Did we get the handpain the one or just a
- 52:43Speaker 4: sample both? I have both. I'm looking at my collestion.
- 52:46Speaker 4: I don't know where my prototype is. I have both.
- 52:49Speaker 3: I have I have and I have two samples, like, oh,
- 52:52Speaker 3: I might have sold the other second sample actually recently. Yeah,
- 53:00Speaker 3: I don't know what I'm collecting at this point. Second,
- 53:02Speaker 3: like I was really into like wrestling DVDs.
- 53:06Speaker 5: I'm like, so I'm not defeated by the business in
- 53:09Speaker 5: any like like way, shape or form, but it's like
- 53:12Speaker 5: I'm not like overly positive and loving it that I
- 53:15Speaker 5: want to be buying the toys, if that makes sense.
- 53:18Speaker 1: After the Edgehead's run was over, where there are more
- 53:20Speaker 1: people in the locker room that knew about your collecting
- 53:22Speaker 1: habits and were accepting of them. So around this time
- 53:25Speaker 1: was that coming out or I don't not really, that
- 53:30Speaker 1: didn't come for later years.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, I don't even I still at this one.
- 53:34Speaker 3: We're not just talking about that, okay for sure, not
- 53:37Speaker 3: not amongst casuals. Like our closest friends obviously know because
- 53:40Speaker 3: if they travel with us, they'd know it. It's like
- 53:42Speaker 3: to like stop and look for things and whatever, you know,
- 53:44Speaker 3: that kind of thing.
- 53:45Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, I know you guys have talked about
- 53:48Speaker 1: this like that you thought that this would happen. But
- 53:51Speaker 1: Russ Linderman asks, were there any plans ever discussed for
- 53:53Speaker 1: a feud with edge or Chavo like anything out loud
- 53:57Speaker 1: between anybody other than the two never Brian chairs, did
- 54:02Speaker 1: you guys keep in touch with Edge after the breakup?
- 54:03Speaker 1: I know you guys still talk today, but immediately after
- 54:06Speaker 1: the split, was he still available for you guys to
- 54:08Speaker 1: talk and get advice from.
- 54:09Speaker 3: I mean, he's right right there with Brosky unless he's
- 54:11Speaker 3: on raw. But now, oh, you know what, he tears
- 54:14Speaker 3: his achilles and I like hang out with him in
- 54:16Speaker 3: his house all the time because he lived in Tampa
- 54:18Speaker 3: and that's where FCW was. Uh So the summer, early
- 54:23Speaker 3: summer of nine, he tears his achilles and he's like
- 54:25Speaker 3: out out for a good while.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Achilles is a bad injury, It's.
- 54:28Speaker 4: A bad sports injury.
- 54:29Speaker 3: So then he would invite like me, Trent and like
- 54:33Speaker 3: Canlacroft over, like all the time.
- 54:34Speaker 4: We'd go watch all the papers at his place.
- 54:36Speaker 3: Was it was like I got even closer to him,
- 54:39Speaker 3: believe it or not, in the move.
- 54:41Speaker 4: It was really crazy.
- 54:43Speaker 1: And now he does our show opening every year.
- 54:47Speaker 4: It's true. Yeah, it's a tradition. Tradition.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Anthony Diaz, How was it working with Chavo Guerrero. Any
- 54:52Speaker 1: advice he gave you? Guys, we did that awesome interview
- 54:54Speaker 1: with him recently.
- 54:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I love Java. I think that was a year ago,
- 54:58Speaker 4: b year ago. I don't know if he's.
- 55:01Speaker 5: Ever given us like, you know, I can't think of
- 55:04Speaker 5: one thing that he has said specifically, but just being
- 55:07Speaker 5: around him, you know what. Fuck I'll say this, and
- 55:09Speaker 5: this is not something he ever said, but he on
- 55:12Speaker 5: tour would bring so much different gear, like different tights
- 55:15Speaker 5: for every night of the loop, and that's something that
- 55:17Speaker 5: stuck with me. I think it's just very professional.
- 55:22Speaker 3: Java was always a good dude. Uh, fun to be around,
- 55:26Speaker 3: takes his shirt off a lot. Yeah, life of the
- 55:29Speaker 3: party of those he's life for the party type of guy. Yeah,
- 55:32Speaker 3: for sure, I love you.
- 55:33Speaker 4: That's interesting. I just did a Gallos.
- 55:35Speaker 3: Show with him and he was awesome to be around
- 55:38Speaker 3: and in great shape.
- 55:39Speaker 1: So well. He thought my tie holder was very o CD,
- 55:43Speaker 1: like I bring my ties in a tie case. Anthony Diaz,
- 55:48Speaker 1: Oh no, that was him. Uh. He asked how where
- 55:52Speaker 1: the Zach Ryder character was inspired from? But we don't
- 55:55Speaker 1: even talk about that. All right, let's finish this out.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Did Yeah, we already talked about that. Okay, what's like
- 56:03Speaker 1: the close off to this period in your mind. What
- 56:07Speaker 1: what where are you? Guys? I'm so brosky. You're on ECW.
- 56:10Speaker 1: You get some some notable.
- 56:12Speaker 5: Feuds, like it does so much for me, and I
- 56:17Speaker 5: feel like that could be its own like episode because
- 56:20Speaker 5: you know the Rory Fox incident, you know wherever boff
- 56:24Speaker 5: is tights, you know. Then I get put in these
- 56:26Speaker 5: matches with Christian, then I get I get trusted with
- 56:29Speaker 5: a microphone, and it gives me the confidence, you know
- 56:33Speaker 5: to cut these these live promos and stuff like that.
- 56:35Speaker 5: And then also to the wrestle guys like Christian, uh
- 56:39Speaker 5: who a not only one of the best wrestlers, like
- 56:42Speaker 5: of all type of one of my favorites for sure,
- 56:44Speaker 5: and like that first match that I have with him, like,
- 56:47Speaker 5: oh my god, I am so blown up and he's
- 56:49Speaker 5: absolute probaly can carry me through. And we talked about
- 56:51Speaker 5: like not having singles matches and then I'm doing a
- 56:54Speaker 5: couple of squashes and then I'm wrestling in the World
- 56:56Speaker 5: champ you know, so if he get.
- 56:58Speaker 4: From three segs or whatever, yeah, yeah.
- 57:01Speaker 1: So so the LIX, So why don't we button that
- 57:04Speaker 1: and then the next show we'll talk about sort of
- 57:07Speaker 1: ECW two, the the YouTube show, and then Brian, how
- 57:14Speaker 1: do how will we get closing out this? When do
- 57:15Speaker 1: you get called back up?
- 57:18Speaker 3: It's like the same time twenty May of twenty ten,
- 57:23Speaker 3: and then if you do a year from that, that's
- 57:25Speaker 3: about when you start the show.
- 57:26Speaker 4: And I think we're both un raw at that point
- 57:28Speaker 4: we get both.
- 57:28Speaker 5: Because what happens is, you know, the ECW run is great,
- 57:34Speaker 5: but like, uh, there's so there's so much like starting stuff.
- 57:37Speaker 5: Like there were times where I tell like, oh my god,
- 57:39Speaker 5: like I'm gonna win this ECW title, like legit, like
- 57:42Speaker 5: like this could actually happen, like I retire Tommy Dreamer,
- 57:45Speaker 5: like things were going great. Uh, and then I'll never
- 57:48Speaker 5: forget Johnny Ace pulls the whole ECW roster aside. It
- 57:52Speaker 5: says like ECW's is dead next week.
- 57:55Speaker 4: What then they start.
- 57:57Speaker 3: Were being there being like well that's weird. There was
- 57:58Speaker 3: this weird meeting because that on s back down.
- 58:00Speaker 4: So I was there.
- 58:02Speaker 5: And there's no but when did you debut again May
- 58:07Speaker 5: twenty ten? Yeah, but you weren't on Smackdad yet because
- 58:10Speaker 5: this is like January ten, Tuary.
- 58:15Speaker 3: Remember they sent me to Rumble just to do like
- 58:18Speaker 3: photos and stuff. I think it was that weekend. I
- 58:21Speaker 3: know you're saying it because that's how NXC starts, like
- 58:23Speaker 3: in February.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's interesting.
- 58:25Speaker 5: That's why then I get, you know, all the success
- 58:28Speaker 5: that I had on E c W. You know, now
- 58:32Speaker 5: I moved to raw and this expression, you know, I
- 58:36Speaker 5: hate using it, but it's it's true.
- 58:37Speaker 4: I was a big fish in.
- 58:39Speaker 5: A small pond on EA c W and then I
- 58:41Speaker 5: moved to raw and I just got lost in the
- 58:45Speaker 5: shuffle instantly, you know.
- 58:47Speaker 4: Of course, It's just it's just was unfortunate. It's just
- 58:51Speaker 4: one of those things.
- 58:52Speaker 1: So and the first time you're back, Brian, is that
- 58:55Speaker 1: failed run with.
- 58:57Speaker 4: Archer, the bizarre Archer tag run.
- 58:59Speaker 1: Yeah, do you go back after that?
- 59:01Speaker 4: Or you're then I'm up till like IET fired two years.
- 59:06Speaker 5: Okay, so then you're you're not at that. You're not
- 59:08Speaker 5: at that WrestleMania, right, Brian, Dude.
- 59:11Speaker 4: That was wild, Like papaupar I can tell you about that.
- 59:14Speaker 3: So in my WW run, my friends, my like like
- 59:18Speaker 3: civilian friends as I would call them, like high school
- 59:19Speaker 3: buddies like Papa Bear and stuff would come to WrestleMania.
- 59:21Speaker 3: So the first year was Orlando, and like I said,
- 59:24Speaker 3: I'm twenty two, twenty three, like single, Like this is
- 59:27Speaker 3: like a destination like awesome thing for me and all
- 59:29Speaker 3: my friends in my family too. So that one, you know,
- 59:33Speaker 3: we do Orlando, then my friends going to Dallas or
- 59:35Speaker 3: we're not sorry Houston, So this one is Phoenix and
- 59:39Speaker 3: I'm in FCW, but I'm like, but I'm still a
- 59:42Speaker 3: main roster guy and I stillot that was responsibilities in
- 59:44Speaker 3: that contract. So I was like talking to the office
- 59:46Speaker 3: like am I going?
- 59:47Speaker 4: Am I going?
- 59:47Speaker 3: I never got a straight answer, and then like man,
- 59:50Speaker 3: like I want to say three or four days before
- 59:52Speaker 3: they're like you're not needed for access or whatever, You're
- 59:55Speaker 3: not going. So I had like call my buddies and
- 59:57Speaker 3: be like, bro, we got to change your tickets to
- 59:59Speaker 3: TAMP And then it was a very light week of
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: like FCW duty's because like most people were at Mania
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: or whatever, you know, Hall of Fame a lot of stuff.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: So we just had the best time, like Raged with
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Johnny Curtis and Tampa went out every night.
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: It was so fun.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: I had like very fond memories of it, like like
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: an awesome time ended up being. But that's so I
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: missed the Mania and that's not the first time I
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: missed Mania the Daniel Bryan Yere thirty. I was also
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: under contract and they just did not bring me like
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: the ultimate, the ultimate piece of shit feeling. I could
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: do that.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: Yeah, and that was before you got fired and I
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: get fired like a month or two later for the
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: first time.
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: Yeah, that Mania.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: I'm in the Battle Royal and I last to the
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: final two with Yoshi Tatsu and he wins.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Yeah, So what do we want to do for the
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: next one? Do we do?
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: Like?
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: I feel Brian gets called up to like where when
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: it gets swir dish.
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: I feel like too much.
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: I feel like we're I feel like now we're too
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: separate where it's like it's too separate and you're in
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: cringing on his other podcast, Like I think like I think, yeah,
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: I think we did it. I mean I think we started.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: We did it some new concepts.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Because like there's no name Mark Malibu, next time mark Malibu.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: Yeah, this is your life. I mean.
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: The only thing I can think of is if you
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: like press fast forward on your remote and you go
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: to how we start as a team again.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Could do that.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: I'm sure people have interested in that.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: That's so fresh in people's brains. I bet you they
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: have tons of questions.
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: Yeah so, I mean, and that could be since the
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: run wasn't that long, it could be the entire run
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: from from doing.
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: Nothing to get fired.
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: Sure, yea, that there's really no reason to do like
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: what did you do this week?
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: Brian, what do you do this week?
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: It's like, yeah, this was this was the story of
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: us together and this is kind of how we went
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: our separate ways.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: Not not to mention he has like the writer revolution
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: going on, and I'm like, wrestling, JTG and Superstars is
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: not really much to.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Like to talk about to compare it to you.
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: Know, I think these episodes are really cool and it's
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: like a history lesson is a trip down memory lane,
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: and I think, you know, I do think we can
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: revisit because it's definitely things we didn't talk about, especially
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: Deep South. Goddamn, it's fucking insane went down there. But
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: uh yeah, this this this breaking up of the edgeheads,
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: it was. It was bittersweet, of course, you don't want
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: to lose, you know, like that spot being with the
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: world champion and then.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: When you're young and that green like I remember just
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: thinking this is never going to end kind of thing,
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: you know. That's the way I did feel about it.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: So it was it was a good life lesson, you know,
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: blessing in disguise. Well, I got a year of tutelage
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: from the American Dream Dusty Roads that was invaluable and
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: instilled the confidence in me to talk, which is something
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: we basically never did, you know something it was that
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: was a tool that I needed in my tool belt
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: badly and didn't even realize. And I got, like, you know,
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: the best education you can get. Yeah, for sure, I'm
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: super grateful for that. That's another thing that altered my career.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: And then on the flip side, where Brosky's like he's
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: wrestling Christian you know some of the best wrestlers of
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: the world.
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: I'm the opposite.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: I'm wrestling you know, David David o'tanga in his third match,
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: Ye had the Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas in their
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: fifth match, like trying to pull like I learned in
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: that sense, like trying to pull something out of these
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: super young, you know, green guys, like trying to you know,
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: bring them up to my level, which wasn't much.
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: But still higher than what they were.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: You know, that's another stepping stone of like my learning
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: is like a wrestler, you know, being in those situations. Yeah,
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: and then on the flip side, eventually I got to like,
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: you know, I wrestled Brian Danielson and Loki and all
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: these like pretty crazy, awesome, big time matches.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: All right, well, great job guys, thanks for asking us
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: questions this month, and we'll be back next month with
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: I joined your lives at this point, so I'll remember
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: some of these.
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: Yeah, you're in some of this.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right, thanks guys.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: See it.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: How shock
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: The Tap
