- 0:14Speaker 3: That is how Amy Sugarman got me here. She name.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Amy's like, Ashley hasn't been to the West Coast eight
- 0:21Speaker 2: or so our podcast forster Amy Sugarman, who our listeners
- 0:24Speaker 2: have been aware of for a long time.
- 0:27Speaker 3: She doesn't fly, she hasn't flownd since nineteen ninety nine.
- 0:29Speaker 2: We know, so, we we know, so we drive, so
- 0:34Speaker 2: she drives and we have to do like all of
- 0:36Speaker 2: our things on the West Coast. And then she was like, man, Ashley,
- 0:39Speaker 2: mom of two, hasn't been to do this for quite
- 0:42Speaker 2: some time, how do we get her to come Jonahs Brothers?
- 0:45Speaker 2: And I was like, yes, one thousand percent quickest, Yes
- 0:48Speaker 2: she's ever gotten. And I am now joined by two
- 0:52Speaker 2: of everybody's golden favorites, Susan Knowles and Kathy Schwartz. You guys,
- 0:58Speaker 2: well you know them from The Golden Bachelor. You know
- 1:01Speaker 2: Kathy from well being a Golden and Bachelor in Paradise
- 1:05Speaker 2: and they both host the Golden Hour podcast. I know
- 1:09Speaker 2: you guys just finished wrapping up your recap the first
- 1:13Speaker 2: episode of.
- 1:14Speaker 3: The Golden The New Golden A little bit good time,
- 1:20Speaker 3: quick quick first impressions from both of you.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Go first, I was not on his side, but I
- 1:31Speaker 4: am now.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Okay, okay, I'm not sure enough. I think that the
- 1:35Speaker 2: women are great.
- 1:36Speaker 4: The women, that's a whole nother story.
- 1:38Speaker 3: He seems like not like the most charming human in
- 1:42Speaker 3: the entire world.
- 1:42Speaker 4: He is handsome, he's got a look, but it's not humble.
- 1:48Speaker 4: It's not mine forgiveness and give them a chance. Okay,
- 1:52Speaker 4: so you got it. Yeah, we're human.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 5: I think the women are fabulous. They all have lots
- 2:00Speaker 5: of hair, they have extensions, and I'm like, you know,
- 2:05Speaker 5: they were bikinis, Like I just want to be one
- 2:08Speaker 5: of them.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Yeah, they're not golden. They're not golden. They're really.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Is golden to you if you don't mind. It's always
- 2:17Speaker 2: sixty plus. That's like our definition as a franchise, right.
- 2:21Speaker 4: I think sixty five five security.
- 2:25Speaker 5: It was supposed to be sixty five, but you know
- 2:27Speaker 5: what five years, yes, four crew was but they started
- 2:32Speaker 5: it was supposed to be sixty five and then they
- 2:34Speaker 5: lowered it. And here's my thing. I think the women
- 2:36Speaker 5: are fabulus. I think they're you know, young, they're talented.
- 2:40Speaker 5: I think I can't wait to see how the season
- 2:43Speaker 5: develops because I think that they have the benefit of
- 2:46Speaker 5: watching having watched our season. So some of my things
- 2:50Speaker 5: are there for the right reason. Some of them are
- 2:51Speaker 5: there to build their social media platforms and their businesses.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Do you have a problem with them? No, I'm just
- 2:57Speaker 3: we didn't know what social media want. I don't know
- 2:59Speaker 3: what it means. Answer was or a collaborator. I was like,
- 3:02Speaker 3: you guys are like pretty much golden influencers. I think
- 3:05Speaker 3: now we didn't come on.
- 3:07Speaker 4: That's what they asked this woman when we meet them,
- 3:09Speaker 4: And how did you go?
- 3:10Speaker 3: I don't know just what the women want to know?
- 3:13Speaker 2: How a career because now both of you are immediate personality.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Yes, well, and I got to.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Say, I'm mel I've I've said from the get go,
- 3:23Speaker 5: he said something stupid.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Yeah, you know he is. He's right. He is going
- 3:27Speaker 3: to have to earn it back.
- 3:28Speaker 5: But you know what, I'm going to cut him some
- 3:29Speaker 5: grace because give him some grace because he doesn't know
- 3:33Speaker 5: what he's in for. You know what I'm saying.
- 3:35Speaker 3: He's he's he's.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Got some lots of beautiful women, and he might really
- 3:40Speaker 5: want a woman between forty and sixty until he meets
- 3:42Speaker 5: this crowd, and now I think he's like, whoa, there
- 3:45Speaker 5: are some hot women. So that's a good message.
- 3:48Speaker 4: As I said this morning, how many times have I
- 3:50Speaker 4: or you opened your mouth and insert at your foot.
- 3:53Speaker 3: In my mouth?
- 3:54Speaker 4: He said, like you got to give them a risk?
- 3:57Speaker 3: So true.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Me included what do you guys think about like him
- 4:02Speaker 2: as a lead versus Gary.
- 4:04Speaker 5: As light and day listen if there could have been
- 4:08Speaker 5: one more on his season. In fact, I'm still thinking
- 4:10Speaker 5: I can go meet him and sweet him away. If
- 4:12Speaker 5: you if you chose something, you know, it's not too
- 4:14Speaker 5: late to break him up. I'm certainly not talking about Gary.
- 4:18Speaker 3: I know you aren't. I love the tag.
- 4:23Speaker 2: You guys are so honest about the fact that like
- 4:25Speaker 2: Gary like after you guys depart from the show is
- 4:28Speaker 2: just like not.
- 4:29Speaker 5: Let me just break this down really quickly. A lawyer,
- 4:34Speaker 5: a football player, a guy who can string together sentences,
- 4:38Speaker 5: or you can go pick cotton and a corn Mason Indiana,
- 4:41Speaker 5: I don't know what do you want to do.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Anyways, did you know what when we were finally they
- 4:47Speaker 4: didn't let us know to the last minute when we
- 4:49Speaker 4: were on the show, and then he's announced, my phone
- 4:54Speaker 4: was blowing up and my friends, are you still going?
- 4:57Speaker 4: That's mean, you know, my daughter said.
- 5:00Speaker 5: My daughter said, Mom, I've known you my whole life.
- 5:03Speaker 5: You really think you're moving to Indiana? It's never happened.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yeah, well I have the same thing with crystals, or like,
- 5:07Speaker 2: you aren't moving to Iowa to a cornfield, and then
- 5:11Speaker 2: well you're in the bachelor bubble and you're like, I
- 5:13Speaker 2: could totally live on a cornfield.
- 5:15Speaker 3: No, no, I never said you guys were mature enough
- 5:18Speaker 3: to know that you.
- 5:19Speaker 5: Couldn't the cod That's as close as I want to
- 5:23Speaker 5: get to a cornfield, thank you very much.
- 5:26Speaker 4: And then your girls in our room saying he called
- 5:28Speaker 4: that a lake. It's a pond. Remember, yeah, he lives
- 5:33Speaker 4: he said, he lives on a lake. It's like, you know,
- 5:35Speaker 4: like a swan Boa cattle wheel thing.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I just love obsessed with how you do not care?
- 5:41Speaker 4: We love him, we love him, we're good friends, but hey.
- 5:44Speaker 5: It is what I love him anymore. He's perfectly fine.
- 5:50Speaker 5: He's got a new girlfriend. Actually, I wish him all
- 5:52Speaker 5: the best. Her name is Lana, not Lana Lana like.
- 5:56Speaker 4: They look alike?
- 5:57Speaker 3: They look alike? They do?
- 5:58Speaker 4: They look alike?
- 6:00Speaker 3: Okay, that's what the people say that you end up
- 6:01Speaker 3: with people that you look like. Oh god, I'm in trouble.
- 6:04Speaker 2: My husband looks like me, people say, and I probably agree.
- 6:09Speaker 4: I don't think I look like Frederick at all. Now
- 6:12Speaker 4: is your new relationship? Great? Great? He's at my house?
- 6:15Speaker 4: Oh nice, I'm here.
- 6:18Speaker 5: He's doing the dishes, more in the lawn, just where
- 6:20Speaker 5: a good man should be serving a woman.
- 6:22Speaker 3: It's a long distant relationship. So how's that going.
- 6:25Speaker 4: It's difficult at times. Yeah, he was in an island, yes,
- 6:28Speaker 4: Saint Martin.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Well I'm happy for you. Now it's
- 6:32Speaker 2: it's Kathy's turn. Yeah, to get a man. Kathy, we
- 6:37Speaker 2: need like a spin off show with you, where you
- 6:39Speaker 2: where you date people?
- 6:40Speaker 3: You know? Why wait, why aren't you on a Ben
- 6:42Speaker 3: spinoff where he has.
- 6:45Speaker 4: We planned a show? Helloth of us?
- 6:47Speaker 5: Directors, producers, directors, producers?
- 6:50Speaker 3: Where is the show for Kathy? To find?
- 6:52Speaker 4: Lots?
- 6:52Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Was there somebody that you want to show up to paradise?
- 6:56Speaker 3: You didn't come. Oh, yes, I.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Mean anybody, Yeah, anybody.
- 7:03Speaker 5: I meant anybody with an IQ over ninety, preferably over
- 7:08Speaker 5: six feet. No, I mean there was nobody from Jonesy.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Nobody from Jones season that you wanted. You wanted people
- 7:14Speaker 2: to come from outside the franchise.
- 7:15Speaker 4: They wanted maybe somebody that applied for the job, you
- 7:19Speaker 4: know what I mean, or that I.
- 7:21Speaker 5: Just I want someone. You know, I'm not asking for
- 7:23Speaker 5: that much. I want someone who will accept me for
- 7:27Speaker 5: who I am. I'm not everyone's cup of tea, but like,
- 7:29Speaker 5: I live life and I enjoy life, and I want
- 7:32Speaker 5: someone who wants to enjoy life with me, as long
- 7:34Speaker 5: as he's not living on Social Security.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Is Like in Paradise, it almost felt like they didn't
- 7:43Speaker 2: really set you guys up for like romantic success.
- 7:46Speaker 3: They didn't really you know, there wasn't enough of you.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Keith possible.
- 7:51Speaker 5: When we got there, many of us thought that there
- 7:55Speaker 5: were they were going to bring in other Goldens or
- 7:58Speaker 5: other people that applied, when I didn't. And I knew Keith.
- 8:02Speaker 5: I knew all those guys because they'd been on our podcast.
- 8:05Speaker 5: I'd met them at different iHeart events, so I knew them.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Like I already and you in that reject pile.
- 8:13Speaker 5: You know, your your resume is in the circular file.
- 8:16Speaker 5: So but Keith is a great guy and we were
- 8:19Speaker 5: friends and it was never going to be more than that.
- 8:22Speaker 3: He's a great guy. But no, what about where you
- 8:24Speaker 3: guys were in the pool together? Was it ever like,
- 8:27Speaker 3: could you've ever gotten like there was a moment, not.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Even a nano sec I mean, I got to tell
- 8:32Speaker 5: you when April started making out with Jack, I thought
- 8:36Speaker 5: I was going to lose my lunch.
- 8:38Speaker 3: And not because I mean April and Jack.
- 8:41Speaker 5: That's like like Mickey Mouse with I don't know, it's
- 8:45Speaker 5: just no Jessica Rabbit. Yeah exactly, I mean anyway, So no,
- 8:49Speaker 5: there was never a moment where I thought, now, if
- 8:52Speaker 5: you'd give me enough alcohol.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Or drugs, that.
- 8:56Speaker 4: You still wouldn't.
- 8:57Speaker 5: You're right, not enough now if you like, you know,
- 9:00Speaker 5: you know, a two bagger they were you know maybe
- 9:03Speaker 5: I no, never okay, just but I love him.
- 9:07Speaker 2: But no, let's get back into this episode. Stand out
- 9:12Speaker 2: girls to you. Well, it's so funny going through my bracket.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I had Maya Maya.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Maya Yeah, min from.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Sheets Eliminated Rose Ceremony Number one also Sandra's sister sister
- 9:29Speaker 2: on her name?
- 9:32Speaker 3: How can you? I mean, why was she eliminated? She's was?
- 9:36Speaker 2: She was, she's sent seven and she looks like she
- 9:41Speaker 2: looks fifty seven.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Yeah, but.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Seventy five.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Yeah. I mean, I just don't think regardless, we all
- 9:49Speaker 5: accept Mel's apology, we all want the best, but I
- 9:52Speaker 5: don't see Mel. Unfortunately our culture, I don't know, see
- 9:55Speaker 5: a sixty six year old going for a seventy seven
- 9:58Speaker 5: year old.
- 9:58Speaker 3: I just don't say it.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I did he even know her age because she didn't
- 10:01Speaker 2: look at obviously, And I don't know.
- 10:03Speaker 3: I mean, who knows why.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I guess like it's just one of those situations like
- 10:07Speaker 2: I always refer to grocery store Joe.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Everybody thought he's the most charming, cute, handsome guy. How
- 10:14Speaker 3: did Betha eliminate him? Night one?
- 10:17Speaker 2: And then you hear that she was like, no, you
- 10:19Speaker 2: guys don't understand. There was so little chemistry, but we
- 10:22Speaker 2: just couldn't.
- 10:23Speaker 4: It's a fla.
- 10:25Speaker 2: No matter how cute somebody can be, you just like
- 10:28Speaker 2: it's not there.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Trust me.
- 10:30Speaker 5: The older you get that becomes like ye, A lot of.
- 10:46Speaker 3: We both thought.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Kathy and I have spoken off the mic and said that, well,
- 10:52Speaker 2: Carol is a big favorite of ours, and then Cindy is.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Everybody to me, Cindy.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Saying, like the winners, she seems like she's getting the
- 11:03Speaker 2: winner edit. She and ye who he had the one
- 11:07Speaker 2: on one with Cheryl Cheryl, they seem like they could
- 11:11Speaker 2: be like getting the top two edits. And I think
- 11:13Speaker 2: that Carol, I mean, she's definitely got young energy.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Here's the thing about Peg.
- 11:20Speaker 5: And I said this running for Peg when she comes
- 11:23Speaker 5: in in her fit and her here's the thing about Peg.
- 11:27Speaker 5: She is a bomb squad firefighter. My son's a firefighter
- 11:31Speaker 5: like they. It takes a lot of punch and a
- 11:34Speaker 5: lot of and so when she was like these women
- 11:36Speaker 5: are also chatty, chatty, chatty, She's not going to put
- 11:40Speaker 5: up with crap from anybody. I guarantee you she's either
- 11:43Speaker 5: going to go so far or he's going to say Nope,
- 11:46Speaker 5: she's too much for me.
- 11:48Speaker 4: The conversation that they had, she was on point, so
- 11:51Speaker 4: are you retired? Because I want a man that's going
- 11:53Speaker 4: to spend time. She was the lead.
- 11:56Speaker 6: You know, I.
- 11:58Speaker 5: Tell you she's like the fires burning, where's.
- 12:00Speaker 4: The let's get I like it?
- 12:04Speaker 3: Anybody else that you think we need to talk about.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I mean, Nicole was also she looks great, but she
- 12:10Speaker 2: is possibly an instigator.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Climbing the tree.
- 12:17Speaker 5: City City from Austin says wow, when she was in
- 12:20Speaker 5: the push and she was like climbing him like a tree. Yeah,
- 12:24Speaker 5: I personally not that you know, anyone cares. I think
- 12:27Speaker 5: as a golden like, I'd like to set a little
- 12:30Speaker 5: bit better example and so I know, you know, take your.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Tasteful a little more tasteful.
- 12:36Speaker 5: You don't have to be macking on him from the
- 12:39Speaker 5: get go and calling him her husband like come on.
- 12:42Speaker 4: And to tell her. I think that we should cool it.
- 12:45Speaker 4: You know, in the pool, I.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Was like, eliminate her.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I think it's not because he thinks she's hot, but
- 12:52Speaker 2: he is a man. Yeah, he's a guy, but like
- 12:55Speaker 2: I don't think he liked that at all.
- 12:57Speaker 3: He was like Jill Jerry, she was another standout. Yeah,
- 13:01Speaker 3: she's like great connections.
- 13:04Speaker 4: She seems smart.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Really she's smart.
- 13:06Speaker 4: I wonder.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Her story.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Some great stories women who have taken care of single
- 13:13Speaker 5: hand raised children, taking care of mothers in their older
- 13:18Speaker 5: older years. I mean, these women have woven very rich fabrics.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Their lives are very rich richly. We haven't heard too
- 13:27Speaker 5: much about Robin yet. I hope she's playing just having
- 13:31Speaker 5: the rob.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Become best friend. Oh my gosh. What about Cheryl's story
- 13:41Speaker 3: with the son?
- 13:43Speaker 4: Yeah, tyson didn't.
- 13:48Speaker 5: I want to kind of I want to call her
- 13:49Speaker 5: and say, how did you get him back after a week?
- 13:52Speaker 3: Like I want more of that story. I want to know.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I'm sure it was longer. They had
- 13:56Speaker 2: to bridge it for TV, but it was like.
- 14:00Speaker 3: And you know the other thing.
- 14:01Speaker 5: I loved the stories Cheryl who had been for eighteen years,
- 14:06Speaker 5: she had just raised her son, and she hadn't done
- 14:09Speaker 5: anything for herself, and she and now that sweet moment
- 14:12Speaker 5: of now it's our time.
- 14:14Speaker 3: And I love hearing that as a goolden.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Okay, So I have like a lot of fun questions
- 14:19Speaker 2: that I want to ask you guys during our group session,
- 14:22Speaker 2: which is going to be mostly about Jonas, but if
- 14:24Speaker 2: you don't mind, can we talk about like it's really
- 14:28Speaker 2: a little juicy, a little personal.
- 14:32Speaker 3: What are you talking about? Are talking about hormone?
- 14:35Speaker 2: You guys don't exactly You guys don't even know we
- 14:38Speaker 2: talked about at dinner last night. We were talking about metopause.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Some of the metopausal symptoms. And I don't know how
- 14:44Speaker 2: far Kathy wants to get into this.
- 14:46Speaker 5: Anything you want on the open book, let me let
- 14:50Speaker 5: me educate the world on menopause.
- 14:52Speaker 3: What can I help you out? Okay?
- 14:55Speaker 4: Highly recommend No.
- 14:56Speaker 5: No no no no no no no no no no no.
- 14:59Speaker 2: I I actually want to talk to Kathy about dating
- 15:02Speaker 2: after I think.
- 15:04Speaker 3: I think dating after a divorce.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Like Susan and after the passing of your husband has
- 15:10Speaker 2: to be different.
- 15:11Speaker 3: It is, right.
- 15:12Speaker 2: So were you, Susan excited to get back into dating
- 15:16Speaker 2: after a divorce or you were jetting it?
- 15:19Speaker 3: Did you even want to do it?
- 15:20Speaker 4: Not for a while?
- 15:21Speaker 3: Okay? And then how was the first date?
- 15:26Speaker 4: Odd?
- 15:27Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 15:28Speaker 4: Yes?
- 15:28Speaker 3: And did it evolve into anything of interest?
- 15:31Speaker 6: Now?
- 15:31Speaker 3: When was the first time you got butterflies again after
- 15:34Speaker 3: a divorce?
- 15:34Speaker 4: A few years later?
- 15:36Speaker 3: Okay?
- 15:36Speaker 4: And I've had those a few times. So I've had
- 15:40Speaker 4: several relationships, maybe two three years. The fact that I
- 15:46Speaker 4: am as old as I am, I know what I
- 15:49Speaker 4: could deal with and what I can't. And after about
- 15:52Speaker 4: six months in I told you this, Kathy, when I
- 15:56Speaker 4: met this last one, After six months you start seeing
- 15:59Speaker 4: the real you know, the butterflies go away, and I
- 16:02Speaker 4: know the difference now, and yeah, you.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Know the difference, and you know that who you're with
- 16:08Speaker 2: now is so far so six months okay, great. I
- 16:14Speaker 2: was gonna say, like, what was the first kiss, like
- 16:17Speaker 2: post divorce.
- 16:18Speaker 4: The guy that I went on a date with, We
- 16:20Speaker 4: went to golf and we went to Atlantic City actually,
- 16:23Speaker 4: but I didn't kiss him. Okay, we didn't kiss, so
- 16:25Speaker 4: it was I can't even count the first one.
- 16:27Speaker 3: So I wasn't to.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Ask Kathy about that because like you kind of inferred
- 16:33Speaker 2: last night that like you've been romantic since your husband.
- 16:37Speaker 5: Well sexually active a romantic.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Actually, how comfortable you're willing to go were? I mean,
- 16:47Speaker 3: do you want names and numbers? Dan? What do you need?
- 16:51Speaker 4: She's alive? Of course, we're so.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Interested in everything's actually active again after your husband.
- 16:57Speaker 5: But here's let me say, here's the thing. My husband died, obviously,
- 17:01Speaker 5: you know, the sudden death. I didn't touch my feet,
- 17:05Speaker 5: didn't hit the ground, you.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Know, for six months, yeah.
- 17:09Speaker 3: More like a year.
- 17:10Speaker 5: My first date I think was and it was way
- 17:13Speaker 5: too soon, and I honestly don't even remember. It was
- 17:15Speaker 5: eighteen months after he died. My daughter summed it up
- 17:19Speaker 5: perfectly because I got married at twenty to my husband.
- 17:22Speaker 3: I was married almost forty six years. Yes, that's why
- 17:24Speaker 3: I don't know you guys.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I just came up with this random conversation topic that
- 17:28Speaker 2: I thought was like interesting because I'm just like, how
- 17:32Speaker 2: do you.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Feel like being physical at all? Was somebody after you've
- 17:37Speaker 3: been with somebody.
- 17:38Speaker 5: For forty so I will tell you that was really scary.
- 17:44Speaker 5: But you're going to laugh, but I mean it. It's
- 17:45Speaker 5: sort of like riding a bike. Yeah, you know, once
- 17:49Speaker 5: you get you get back on the horse. Whatever you
- 17:51Speaker 5: want to you know, whatever metaphor you want to use.
- 17:53Speaker 5: But here's the thing.
- 17:55Speaker 4: Didn't feel good to be kissed again?
- 17:57Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 17:57Speaker 5: Yeah, But at first it was very strong range because
- 18:01Speaker 5: as my daughter said, Mom, you got married.
- 18:04Speaker 3: I met my husband when I was eighteen.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Yes, I was married at twenty everything, yes, yes, yeah,
- 18:09Speaker 5: so ever seen never have I ever were playing?
- 18:13Speaker 4: She did nothing?
- 18:14Speaker 3: That's me too.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I used to be like when in college, I was like,
- 18:17Speaker 2: I can't play this. It's so embarrassing because I haven't
- 18:19Speaker 2: done anything. And now I'm like.
- 18:21Speaker 5: I but but honestly, when my daughter said to me, Mom,
- 18:30Speaker 5: you're gonna it's gonna be step learning curfew because you
- 18:32Speaker 5: didn't date in your twenties, you didn't have multiple sex partners.
- 18:36Speaker 5: You know, you just got married and I didn't have
- 18:39Speaker 5: children for the first dight and a half years that
- 18:41Speaker 5: you were married. But you know, so for me, it
- 18:44Speaker 5: was literally I had to learn how to date, learn
- 18:47Speaker 5: how to flirt all that. It was like, I just
- 18:49Speaker 5: didn't know how to do it. And I, you know,
- 18:52Speaker 5: I believe people. I took everyone at their word, and
- 18:56Speaker 5: you know, I just I had to learn how to
- 18:59Speaker 5: do it.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Who helped you learn to do it? A trial and
- 19:02Speaker 3: era it was myself.
- 19:03Speaker 5: I mean I had a couple of girlfriends I talked
- 19:05Speaker 5: to about it, but for the most part, I had
- 19:09Speaker 5: to figure it out on my own because now I
- 19:11Speaker 5: know what I want, I know what I what, I'm
- 19:14Speaker 5: willing to compromise on what I'm not. And it's it's
- 19:19Speaker 5: fun now to date. Am I still looking for that guy?
- 19:22Speaker 3: Yeah? You know, I got a date later with one
- 19:23Speaker 3: of the Jonas brothers.
- 19:24Speaker 2: But okay, well, during our Jonah's podcast, we'll talk about,
- 19:28Speaker 2: you know, like how low would you go age wise
- 19:30Speaker 2: and all of that.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Oh boy, because.
- 19:34Speaker 5: Oh god, that's now see my youngest child's thirty eight.
- 19:38Speaker 5: I got to draw the line somewhere.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Maybe like forty.
- 19:41Speaker 2: No.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Actually, honestly, my truth about dating is I don't really
- 19:47Speaker 5: date men my own age, because you've heard my thing
- 19:50Speaker 5: about used to guys to men.
- 19:53Speaker 3: I used to guy.
- 19:53Speaker 5: I used to play tennis, I used to swim, I
- 19:56Speaker 5: used to ski. Now I sit on the sofa and
- 19:58Speaker 5: drink of beer. I don't want used to guy. And
- 20:01Speaker 5: unfortunately there's a lot of them.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, so you always go a little younger.
- 20:05Speaker 5: I like to date men who are younger. I've dated
- 20:07Speaker 5: some guys who are my age, but I like to
- 20:09Speaker 5: go younger.
- 20:09Speaker 2: What's your best date since the loss of your husband
- 20:13Speaker 2: next week?
- 20:17Speaker 3: It is my best date? Is honestly, yeah, that's exactly.
- 20:23Speaker 3: I mean, you know I'm still looking.
- 20:25Speaker 5: I I have the guy said I've dated. There was
- 20:31Speaker 5: one guy dated for a few months and when I
- 20:34Speaker 5: broke up with him, he was shocked and he's like what,
- 20:38Speaker 5: And I said, well, number one in your life is
- 20:40Speaker 5: your dog. Number two in your life is your dog.
- 20:43Speaker 5: Number three in your life is your daughter. Fourth in
- 20:46Speaker 5: your life is your computer. And I'm a distant fifth.
- 20:49Speaker 5: So see, yeah, I mean I just don't. That's why
- 20:51Speaker 5: I'm saying now I know what I'll put up with.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Have you felt butterflies a little with one guy?
- 20:58Speaker 6: Okay recently, but the next we talk about it yet, Yeah,
- 21:04Speaker 6: that's it's mego nowhere Okay, somewhere, Yes it is, but
- 21:08Speaker 6: we're not going to say that.
- 21:09Speaker 3: What's your type?
- 21:10Speaker 4: Typically?
- 21:11Speaker 5: So? I like a smart guy. I like a guy
- 21:15Speaker 5: who's fit. I like a guy who will have adventures.
- 21:19Speaker 5: You know, he doesn't have to do everything I do
- 21:21Speaker 5: like I want. I'm a snow scare. He doesn't have
- 21:23Speaker 5: to snowski, but he damn right. Well, better have the
- 21:26Speaker 5: drink for me at the lodge afterwards, he better go
- 21:29Speaker 5: hiking with me, kayaking with me. He's got to be
- 21:31Speaker 5: taller than I am. I'm five to eight, so you know,
- 21:33Speaker 5: six feet is good. But more it's a guy who
- 21:36Speaker 5: has a sense of of of enjoyment of life, a
- 21:40Speaker 5: zest for life.
- 21:41Speaker 3: I just want to report to you that the Jonahs
- 21:43Speaker 3: brothers are like five.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Seven at best.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Yes, I'll make an exception.
- 21:48Speaker 2: I think we should end this here and we'll go
- 21:51Speaker 2: into all my follow up questions in our later episode.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Okay, you guys are so much fun. Thank you for
- 21:57Speaker 3: being here and experiencing this.
