- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are. Last break of the day.
- 0:03Speaker 1: And it's been a great day. And we always want
- 0:06Speaker 1: to say thank you to the Steve Harvey Nation for listening.
- 0:09Speaker 1: We appreciate you. Now, Steve, you said you were going
- 0:11Speaker 1: to close. You have something special.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, well, it's not really anything special. It's
- 0:15Speaker 2: just closing remarks. I just, well, I looked at it differently.
- 0:19Speaker 2: You know, I talk all the time about gratitude. We
- 0:24Speaker 2: start the show in the morning. I try to remind
- 0:27Speaker 2: people to be grateful. But it's another level to it
- 0:32Speaker 2: that I've been saying it in a way, but I
- 0:36Speaker 2: guess I kind of heard it recently differently, and it
- 0:39Speaker 2: really had a profound effect on me. Okay. Being grateful
- 0:48Speaker 2: is not merely saying thank you for how he's taking
- 0:54Speaker 2: care of you currently. It's not, it's a little deeper
- 0:59Speaker 2: than that. And it's not being grateful because you know
- 1:02Speaker 2: God is going to care for you today like he
- 1:07Speaker 2: has done always. And I know what I'm saying is
- 1:10Speaker 2: coming across as a little bit odd, but I'm trying
- 1:13Speaker 2: to find the proper way to get to this point.
- 1:17Speaker 2: But gratitude, man, when you are thankful for exactly where
- 1:23Speaker 2: you are right now, without asking for anything else, if
- 1:29Speaker 2: you can be grateful for just exactly where you are
- 1:34Speaker 2: right now, it becomes a game changer. Because true gratitude
- 1:41Speaker 2: is to be grateful for it all, the good, the bad,
- 1:45Speaker 2: the positive, and the negative. That's a tough thing to
- 1:48Speaker 2: get a grasp on. So what I've been learning to
- 1:54Speaker 2: do is to be grateful even when it's going badly.
- 2:02Speaker 2: To be grateful even when you are in need. To
- 2:07Speaker 2: be grateful when it just ain't your day. Can you
- 2:13Speaker 2: muster and find the strength to say thank you, God, anyway?
- 2:18Speaker 2: If you can, it takes away the chase. This is
- 2:23Speaker 2: the part I'm trying to get you to. True gratitude
- 2:27Speaker 2: takes away the chase. And see, I've been guilty of
- 2:31Speaker 2: this for a long time and I wasn't paying attention
- 2:34Speaker 2: to it. That's why I'm bringing it to your attention
- 2:36Speaker 2: right now. I have been grateful. But right after my
- 2:43Speaker 2: gratitude prayer comes my list of things I want and
- 2:48Speaker 2: are looking to accomplish, right? But then right after my gratitude,
- 2:53Speaker 2: I get right back to the chase of what I
- 2:56Speaker 2: want now, what I want to happen, the deal, all this,
- 3:00Speaker 2: all this, all this. But let me tell you what happens, y'all.
- 3:03Speaker 2: If you can stop, oftentimes, don't pursue the chase. Be
- 3:10Speaker 2: truly grateful for where you are. Now, that does not
- 3:13Speaker 2: mean you want to stay there. That does not mean
- 3:16Speaker 2: you don't have hopes and dreams and aspirations. But I'm
- 3:20Speaker 2: talking about true gratitude because all of us are where
- 3:25Speaker 2: we are because we thought ourselves in this position. I mean,
- 3:29Speaker 2: make no mistake about it. Now, just because you've thought
- 3:32Speaker 2: yourself to where you are in this position, it does
- 3:35Speaker 2: not mean the position you're in is permanent. So I'm
- 3:38Speaker 2: not I'm saying, look. Everybody is where they thought they
- 3:43Speaker 2: self to be right now. Now, if you have the
- 3:47Speaker 2: right thoughts, you can progress from here. You can be
- 3:50Speaker 2: anything you want to be. You never know. But if
- 3:55Speaker 2: you could just stop and be grateful for exactly where
- 3:59Speaker 2: you are and show true gratitude for where you are,
- 4:04Speaker 2: guess what that does? It puts the theory of gratitude
- 4:11Speaker 2: gratitude into the universe on your behalf. And then you
- 4:16Speaker 2: become a magnet. You become a magnet for more things.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And I've said this before, but I never really understood
- 4:27Speaker 2: it the way I understand it now. What you want
- 4:30Speaker 2: to do, you all, is you want to have such
- 4:33Speaker 2: an appreciation for where you are right now, such an
- 4:37Speaker 2: appreciation for what God has done for you. that it
- 4:41Speaker 2: causes you not to chase. It puts you in the
- 4:46Speaker 2: Lord's prayer. Give us this day our daily bread. If
- 4:52Speaker 2: you can master that, just dealing with today, because let
- 4:57Speaker 2: me tell you something, today is plenty. And if you're
- 5:00Speaker 2: starting out your day today, I got news for you.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It's plenty. You ain't got to want no more because
- 5:04Speaker 2: it's coming. Because today is going to be enough, man.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Today actually is going to take all you have to
- 5:12Speaker 2: complete today, if you think about it. It's going to
- 5:17Speaker 2: take everything you got to get to tonight and then some.
- 5:23Speaker 2: But if you can do that, you then create the atmosphere,
- 5:27Speaker 2: you create the magnetic field that draws nothing but goodness
- 5:33Speaker 2: your way. And you can see it better too because
- 5:37Speaker 2: everything that bad happens to you is not bad. You
- 5:41Speaker 2: just got to look at it the right way. Everything
- 5:45Speaker 2: that happens to you has to happen to you in
- 5:47Speaker 2: a certain order so you can get to where you
- 5:50Speaker 2: are today and where you're trying to go. So if
- 5:53Speaker 2: you can manifest gratitude for where you are currently, even
- 5:58Speaker 2: though this ain't exactly where you want to be, So
- 6:04Speaker 2: if you're constantly waiting to be grateful, you're going to
- 6:06Speaker 2: lose sight of the journey. You've got to be okay
- 6:10Speaker 2: with where you are right now. And that will create
- 6:14Speaker 2: a magnetic field to draw good things your way. I
- 6:18Speaker 2: hope I explained this right. I'm going to try to
- 6:21Speaker 2: straighten it out. I might do it again tomorrow.
