- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Daily Rider, where we share a lesson each day to help you cultivate the habits for creative success.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Whatever you think about the origins of the universe, one thing seems certain.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: The universe started as a kind of blank slate that is now filled with stars, planets, comets, gas, dark matter, and all manner of other debris and material.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Think about the effort and creativity that must have gone into the creation of the universe.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: It's so mind-boggling that it's almost impossible for us to wrap our minds around it.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Yet here is one tiny way we get to experience what that must have been like.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Every time you sit down to write, you have a tiny sense of what it feels like to create.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: In fact, since we're all created in the image of God, and the very first image of God we have in the Bible is showing God as a creator, it stands to reason that we imitate God in some small way every time we create.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: The novelist Sidney Sheldon said, a blank piece of paper is God's way of telling us how hard it is to be God.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: So the next time you sit down to write and it seems hard, it's because, well, it is hard.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: But with that difficulty comes the amazing possibility of creation.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: You get to bring a new creation into existence with just your words.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Now, of course, we'll never know what it's like to actually be God, but we're blessed to have just a tiny bit of his creative power.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: So we're going to start something new with the Daily Rider Podcast today.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: At the end of each of these weekday episodes, I'm going to give you a daily question to help you drive home the point and give you some way to put this into practice.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: So today's daily question, based on what you just heard, is this What are you creating today with your words?
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Thanks so much for listening to today's episode.
