Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to The Edge presented by Wayfair. It's your
- 0:03Speaker 1: boy Micah Parsons and I'm with your boy Q Avery
- 0:06Speaker 1: and we got a full season prediction show today. I'm
- 0:10Speaker 1: going to predict a few major stat leaders. I'm going
- 0:12Speaker 1: to give you one prediction and one dark horse for
- 0:15Speaker 1: every award. We'll talk about Jordan Love calling the plays
- 0:18Speaker 1: in our last preseason game. Quincy, what you got for me?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Let's get into it. Predicting all the stat leaders.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Let's start with something that's.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Probably pretty easy for you. Who will be the stat
- 0:29Speaker 2: leader for sacks in the NFL this upcoming season?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Bro, I'm either going to go Daniil Hunter or Will Anderson, man.
- 0:38Speaker 2: So you're going to just get away from Myles Garrett,
- 0:40Speaker 2: who has Aaron coming back with him?
- 0:43Speaker 1: That's what you're rolling with? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm going
- 0:45Speaker 1: to get away. Because, you know, I think even though
- 0:51Speaker 1: they obviously got the best front, they're going to have
- 0:54Speaker 1: the most attention. You know what I mean? But that
- 0:57Speaker 1: Houston team, like, we can't get away. Like, it's an
- 1:02Speaker 1: argue about who's going to be the greatest, but, like,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I think they kind of set the standard. They got
- 1:12Speaker 1: some guys. Just all out, like, the standard of how
- 1:14Speaker 1: football is played. Like, I tip my hat to them.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It's fun to watch them play, but you got to
- 1:18Speaker 1: give me one. Who's it going to be, Hunter or
- 1:20Speaker 1: Will Anderson? I'm going to go Will Anderson. I think
- 1:23Speaker 1: Will Anderson is going to lead the league in sacks
- 1:24Speaker 1: this year. How many is he going to get? I
- 1:27Speaker 1: think he's going to have about 18 sacks this year.
- 1:29Speaker 1: 18 sacks? I think he had 12 and a half,
- 1:32Speaker 1: 12 last year. Yeah. But I think this is a
- 1:35Speaker 1: year he really breaks out.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I'm interested to see if they score enough points to
- 1:39Speaker 2: make people have to throw the ball on them enough
- 1:41Speaker 2: for him to get those sacks.
- 1:44Speaker 1: That's a very good point. But I think Houston's one
- 1:47Speaker 1: of them teams, if you don't get up on them,
- 1:50Speaker 1: you can't really stay with running the ball.
- 1:52Speaker 2: They just suffocate you. Yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So it's going to be a challenge, but we'll see.
- 1:56Speaker 1: But I'm going to go one in as my first guess.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Okay, now let's go to this. Who will lead the
- 2:01Speaker 2: league in touchdown passes?
- 2:03Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie. I might say Dak Prescott.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I'm going to say Dak Prescott. Old school Dallas days.
- 2:09Speaker 2: What makes you think Dak Prescott is going to lead
- 2:11Speaker 2: the league with the touchdown pass?
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'm saying Dak because based off, we all see the
- 2:17Speaker 1: same thing. I heard Pickens looked like the best receiver
- 2:20Speaker 1: in the NFL. And he's coming off a tag year.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And he said he's going to show he's the best
- 2:26Speaker 1: receiver in the league. Like, I just, it's hard for
- 2:30Speaker 1: me to say, like, when you got that tandem of
- 2:31Speaker 1: CD and Lamb, and, like, we didn't really see it
- 2:35Speaker 1: last year, and we saw what Dak did 30 last
- 2:38Speaker 1: year without CD there, without missing six games. I think
- 2:43Speaker 1: this is going to be the year. It's going to
- 2:45Speaker 1: be big.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Well, then, since we throwing it to CD and we
- 2:49Speaker 2: throwing it to Lamb, who's going to lead the league
- 2:51Speaker 2: in touchdown receptions?
- 2:53Speaker 1: Touchdown receptions? Oh, man.
- 2:59Speaker 2: We got some guys. We got Jackson Smith. We got
- 3:02Speaker 2: Jamar Chase.
- 3:03Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Zay Flowers. You know, it's
- 3:05Speaker 1: a bunch of guys like that. I'm not going to lie.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Touchdown receptions? I might have to give it to GP, too.
- 3:12Speaker 1: I think he might triple crown it.
- 3:14Speaker 2: He going to go yards and touchdown? He going to
- 3:17Speaker 2: do all that?
- 3:18Speaker 1: Yes. How many touchdowns do you think he's going to catch?
- 3:21Speaker 1: I got him for at least... 15, 16. 16 touchdowns
- 3:25Speaker 1: and how many yards? I think he's the greatest red
- 3:27Speaker 1: zone threat in the league. Oh, he's tough. Besides Mike Evans. Oh,
- 3:32Speaker 1: he's over Mike, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. At this stage,
- 3:35Speaker 1: for sure. How many yards? I think he'd go for
- 3:37Speaker 1: at least, he did 14. This wasn't even like his,
- 3:41Speaker 1: he didn't even get in his bag for it. I
- 3:42Speaker 1: think G.P. could go at least 18. Ooh! 18 to 18.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Hey, that might cause a little rift in the locker room.
- 3:50Speaker 1: He goes 1,800, 18 TDs.
- 3:52Speaker 2: CeeDee Lamb going to be looking like, yo, I need
- 3:54Speaker 2: my chicken too.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Nah, but CeeDee already paid though. That's like for me,
- 3:59Speaker 1: that's like me saying I'd be mad if someone got
- 4:01Speaker 1: higher sex than me. Reality, you should though. If I'm
- 4:04Speaker 1: the main attention, you should go off because then it's
- 4:07Speaker 1: going to let me get free a little bit. You
- 4:09Speaker 1: know what I mean? That's what you want. You want
- 4:12Speaker 1: your cold. I mean, the hard part is if GP
- 4:15Speaker 1: do do that, how do you keep them? Oh, they can't.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Because he going to need the 40 ball.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to be way too expensive. But I
- 4:21Speaker 1: think he's very capable. It's just about if GP wants
- 4:24Speaker 1: to do it. Like, he's one of them players, though. Like,
- 4:27Speaker 1: when it's prime time. Oh, he's showing up. Like, there's
- 4:30Speaker 1: no doubt GP's showing up. It's just about, like, do
- 4:33Speaker 1: he want to show up against, like, you know what
- 4:35Speaker 1: I'm saying?
- 4:35Speaker 2: GP a wild boy, but I just want to see
- 4:37Speaker 2: him do it every single week for a whole season.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Like, it's so funny hearing, like, the Georgia players. We
- 4:43Speaker 1: got so many Georgia players that are on the team. Oh,
- 4:45Speaker 1: I've heard the stories. It's so funny, like. Hearing them
- 4:47Speaker 1: talk about GP, like, he really put fear into people. Like, yeah,
- 4:53Speaker 1: he's just one of them, bro. He's one of them.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Then we got rushing leaders. You know what I'm saying?
- 4:59Speaker 2: James Cook took the title last.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Year, 1,600 yards. Who are you rolling with this year?
- 5:06Speaker 1: I'm going to go with Bijan. That's who I would say.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Bijan about to be a fool. Kevin Stefanski system. They're
- 5:13Speaker 2: going to be running the rock.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I kind of see what Quinshawn did last year. And
- 5:18Speaker 1: then now that B. John's over there, their run scheme,
- 5:21Speaker 1: how they get downhill. B. John, he's an all-around back.
- 5:26Speaker 1: He's just so pure in how he runs, breakaway speed.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I think him and Saquon got so many similarities with
- 5:34Speaker 1: that breakaway speed, just being able to do that. So
- 5:36Speaker 1: I'm going to go with B. John. Now it's time
- 5:39Speaker 1: for our new home advantage presented by Wayfair. Quincy, can
- 5:41Speaker 1: you give me a few defensive offseason moves, and I'm
- 5:44Speaker 1: going to pick one I think is going to have
- 5:46Speaker 1: the biggest impact at their new home.
- 5:48Speaker 2: We got Trent McDuffie to the Rams. We got Trey
- 5:50Speaker 2: Hendrickson to the Ravens, and Dexter Lawrence to the Bengals
- 5:54Speaker 2: via trade.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie. I'm going to say Hendrickson.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Wow, Trey to the Ravens? That's going to be the
- 6:06Speaker 2: biggest move? Why do you think that?
- 6:08Speaker 1: I'm going to say, one, healthy Trey has always been
- 6:14Speaker 1: in the top five in sacks. Very consistent. They haven't
- 6:18Speaker 1: had a consistent rusher. You know what I mean? They've
- 6:22Speaker 1: been floating around guys for a while now. And they
- 6:26Speaker 1: got Mbuko back, right? I think that's how you say it.
- 6:29Speaker 1: He just got cleared. He's a nightmare. They was missing
- 6:32Speaker 1: him last year. So now you solidify your front, and
- 6:35Speaker 1: then you still got Roquan. You got Kyle Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey.
- 6:40Speaker 1: You got your young guy, Starks, that play good ball. Like,
- 6:43Speaker 1: they just, you know what I mean? I just think
- 6:45Speaker 1: he kind of solidifies that defense a lot. He does
- 6:48Speaker 1: a great job.
- 6:49Speaker 2: He was banged up last year, and I think it
- 6:51Speaker 2: had a lot to do with the holdout starting late,
- 6:53Speaker 2: all those things. We didn't see the great numbers that
- 6:54Speaker 2: he's had so consistently. But, man, Trent McDuffie to the Rams.
- 6:59Speaker 1: In addition. I just think it got overpowered. Like, it got, like,
- 7:02Speaker 1: it just got, like. Watered down with Donald coming back?
- 7:05Speaker 1: And Garrett. Like, once you got Garrett, like, it wasn't even, like.
- 7:08Speaker 1: But that makes his job so much easier. Now we
- 7:10Speaker 1: getting picks. I get it. It does make his job easier.
- 7:14Speaker 1: But it's, like, corners don't reap the benefit of the
- 7:18Speaker 1: dominance that you bring to the game like defensive ends do.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And that's why you kind of see, like, you know,
- 7:25Speaker 1: defensive rushers win the defensive play of the year more. Right. Like,
- 7:29Speaker 1: we make his job easier. Like, you know what I mean?
- 7:32Speaker 1: And sometimes cover sacks are a real thing. But I
- 7:35Speaker 1: just think, like, there's too many other things that came
- 7:40Speaker 1: about that kind of watered his. That's not going to
- 7:42Speaker 1: make him the big deal. Yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I think, I get what you're saying, but I just
- 7:45Speaker 2: think he's going to see an uptick in stats. But
- 7:47Speaker 2: he won't be, I get what you're saying, he's not
- 7:48Speaker 2: going to have the dominance that, you know, Hendrickson's going
- 7:51Speaker 2: to have because of what he's able to do every
- 7:53Speaker 2: single play. We got all the stats out the way.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I need you to got me a prediction, all right?
- 7:58Speaker 2: So I'm going to ask you about the awards. I
- 8:00Speaker 2: need to know your prediction and then a dark horse,
- 8:02Speaker 2: somebody who we might not be thinking about who could
- 8:04Speaker 2: pop out and win it.
- 8:06Speaker 1: We'll start with MVP. I'm not going to lie. I'm
- 8:08Speaker 1: going with Jordan Love. Dark horse and MVP. Don't matter.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Don't matter.
- 8:14Speaker 1: He's taking both. Yeah, because they don't even got him
- 8:17Speaker 1: on here. I'm going Jordan Love. He don't got no odds.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You can bet on him, make a whole heap of money. Yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 1: He's going to be the one.
- 8:24Speaker 2: All right, so we got Jordan Love for your MVP.
- 8:26Speaker 2: How many yards are you going to throw for how
- 8:27Speaker 2: many touchdowns?
- 8:29Speaker 1: I think Jordan will throw about for 40 TDs, and
- 8:33Speaker 1: I think he's going to have over 4,000 yards this year.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I was going to say 4,200 yards. I like that.
- 8:37Speaker 2: All right, Defensive Player of the Year, and then who's
- 8:40Speaker 2: our Dark Horse?
- 8:41Speaker 1: I think, obviously, the main guy is going to be
- 8:45Speaker 1: Miles Garrett. They're going to make him the favorite. But
- 8:48Speaker 1: the Dark Horse is going to be Will Anderson. I
- 8:50Speaker 1: told you, he's going to be the one that's going
- 8:52Speaker 1: to show up and take it.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I don't know if Will Anderson can be a dark horse.
- 8:55Speaker 1: He up there.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Give me somebody off the radar who we might not
- 8:58Speaker 2: be thinking about.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Somebody you might not be thinking about. If you want
- 9:04Speaker 1: a dark horse like that... I'm going to tell you
- 9:08Speaker 1: who I'm thinking. I'm going to give you some time.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Tell me who you're thinking. Derek Stingley. Stingley? I wouldn't
- 9:13Speaker 1: be mad at Stingley. I wouldn't be mad at Stingley.
- 9:17Speaker 1: That's not a... he's got to beat Sertain's year. Yeah.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I mean, Sertain, he up there too. You know what
- 9:25Speaker 1: I'm saying? All right. If we're doing that, then I'm
- 9:28Speaker 1: going to go Jeffrey Simmons. I like it. I like it.
- 9:31Speaker 1: That's a dark horse. Yeah.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I'm going to go Jeffrey Simmons. Now let's take it
- 9:35Speaker 2: to the offense. Offensive player of the year. Who's your
- 9:37Speaker 2: MVP candidate?
- 9:39Speaker 1: Well, obviously, I think the favorite offensive player of the year,
- 9:47Speaker 1: I think it's going to be I think Jamar, healthy
- 9:54Speaker 1: burrow all year.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I was thinking Jamar, but the two other guys, oh,
- 9:58Speaker 2: you could probably have him for your dark horse. I
- 9:59Speaker 2: ain't going to even say it. But Bajon is up
- 10:01Speaker 2: there too.
- 10:02Speaker 1: So we got. Yeah. Yeah, Jamar said he's going off.
- 10:04Speaker 1: He's going for the touchdown record this year. So we're
- 10:06Speaker 1: going to see. So who's your dark horse then? Pickens. Yeah, yeah.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I'm all on Pickens. Pickens. Throwing the house at Pickens.
- 10:12Speaker 1: All right. Yeah, Jamar. You know what, bro? If Joe
- 10:16Speaker 1: Burrow stays healthy. and they finish the year, and Tee Higgins, like,
- 10:22Speaker 1: they all play together. With the year experience, him going
- 10:26Speaker 1: to year six, Tee in year seven, Burrow, what, year eight?
- 10:29Speaker 1: Something like that. There's no reason why Jamar can't. The
- 10:34Speaker 1: chemistry has been since, they have over seven years of chemistry.
- 10:39Speaker 1: More than that. They played together in college.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:41Speaker 1: One year, one year. Okay, okay. But it's still, like,
- 10:45Speaker 1: from league to, like, off seasons, like, they have so
- 10:48Speaker 1: much time spent It's going to be very fun. It's
- 10:51Speaker 1: going to be very fun to watch in the hall.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I just want Joe Burrow to stay healthy. I love
- 10:56Speaker 2: watching him play ball. He's just been banged up so much.
- 10:59Speaker 1: It's funny. The people always say, like, I always see
- 11:02Speaker 1: the fans. We all see the same things. They always say,
- 11:05Speaker 1: why do people think Joe Burrow's so good? He's always hurt.
- 11:10Speaker 1: He's always this. He's always that. All those people never
- 11:13Speaker 1: been on the field with Joe Burrow. I'll never forget
- 11:17Speaker 1: when we lost that dumb game. Oh, my God. It
- 11:21Speaker 1: still gives me nightmares to this day. Which game is this?
- 11:24Speaker 1: When we lost to the Bengals at home when the
- 11:28Speaker 1: guy touched the punt after we got the stop and
- 11:31Speaker 1: they punted it to us and we were about to
- 11:33Speaker 1: go win a game. And that ruined our playoff hopes.
- 11:38Speaker 1: But in that year, we was playing them and I
- 11:42Speaker 1: was like, this is one of the greatest quarterback level
- 11:47Speaker 1: of play that I've probably played in my life. What
- 11:49Speaker 1: made him so tough? What made him so difficult? Every
- 11:52Speaker 1: throw was on timing. Like, I even said to DB, like,
- 11:56Speaker 1: there was nothing you could have done on that route. Like,
- 11:59Speaker 1: there was a throw where, like, I was in Joe
- 12:01Speaker 1: Burrow's face. By the time I got to him, he
- 12:04Speaker 1: just put it to the pylon. And Jamar, before he
- 12:07Speaker 1: even broke, like, even when you're watching a film, like,
- 12:10Speaker 1: Jamar wasn't even looking yet. He threw it. His anticipation
- 12:14Speaker 1: and where he puts the ball, no one else can bother, like,
- 12:18Speaker 1: When he's on, I don't think there's a better quarterback
- 12:21Speaker 1: in the league than Joe Burrow. That's high praise. Watching
- 12:24Speaker 1: it and living it, when he's on, in that game specifically,
- 12:28Speaker 1: just watching the family, you're like, yo, this was really
- 12:30Speaker 1: a special outing. It was really beautiful to see from
- 12:36Speaker 1: a defensive perspective, too.
- 12:37Speaker 2: So if he stays healthy, where do you see him
- 12:39Speaker 2: stacking up in all those other conversations?
- 12:41Speaker 1: I think he undoubtedly will be a top five quarterback
- 12:44Speaker 1: this year. I love it. Top three defensively. In the league,
- 12:47Speaker 1: for sure. I love it. So who we got for
- 12:50Speaker 1: Comeback Player of the Year? Ooh. Comeback Player of the Year.
- 12:56Speaker 1: The list here is like, to me, are these really
- 13:00Speaker 1: even comebacks, though?
- 13:01Speaker 2: That's what I was thinking about. Mahomes, I don't feel
- 13:03Speaker 2: like a comeback. He played dang near half the season.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Kyler Murray, I guess he did see the all last year.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Malik Nabors, though.
- 13:12Speaker 1: I would rock with Malik Nabors for Comeback Player of
- 13:15Speaker 1: the Year. When I think comeback, I'm like, bad injury,
- 13:20Speaker 1: didn't miss the whole year. You know what I mean?
- 13:23Speaker 1: Even myself, I got hurt in week 15. I finished
- 13:26Speaker 1: the year great. I was an All-Pro. So if I
- 13:28Speaker 1: come back, is it really a comeback? But Donald didn't play. Yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 1: Donald could definitely be- He's two years out. Yeah, he
- 13:35Speaker 1: could be in the category of- He's your comeback? Yeah,
- 13:38Speaker 1: he could be a comeback player for sure. Who's your
- 13:40Speaker 1: dark horse? I think Donald could be the dark horse.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Two years out, no one believes that he's going to
- 13:46Speaker 1: be the original Aaron Donald, but I do. Okay.
- 13:49Speaker 2: My dark horse is going to be Deshaun. Let me
- 13:52Speaker 2: see you bounce back, my dog. Let me see you
- 13:54Speaker 2: do it.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie. My fear for Deshaun is like,
- 13:59Speaker 1: I respect Deshaun. I thought when we played him, I
- 14:01Speaker 1: thought he was a great quarterback too. He's tough as hell.
- 14:05Speaker 1: My fear for him is like, he can only rise.
- 14:10Speaker 1: The thing is like, If he doesn't perform, will he
- 14:15Speaker 1: ever get another opportunity again? That's what I'm scared of,
- 14:17Speaker 1: because he's a quarterback. He can play in this league.
- 14:20Speaker 2: It's a lot of injuries back to back to back.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Can we even name a run of injuries that been
- 14:26Speaker 2: this bad? When you put it like that, it's been tough.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I actually respect that. And they have enough to do it.
- 14:34Speaker 1: They do. I like their young receivers. They got great
- 14:36Speaker 1: running back. They got some pieces. Let's go, Deshaun. Let's go. Yeah.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Who we got for Coach of the Year? Coach of
- 14:43Speaker 1: the Year? I'm not going to lie. I'm going to
- 14:45Speaker 1: go with Harbaugh. Taking over the Giants. Yep. Taking a
- 14:50Speaker 1: program that really hasn't had the successes won in the NFC.
- 14:54Speaker 1: It's been getting dominated by Cowboys, Philly. You've got a
- 15:01Speaker 1: young quarterback, some young backs. Mix in with the receiver,
- 15:06Speaker 1: young tight end, great defense, great young defense. Great young,
- 15:10Speaker 1: a lot of money, a lot of first round picks
- 15:11Speaker 1: on that defense. Now, how can you put that all
- 15:14Speaker 1: together to win football games?
- 15:16Speaker 2: I just, can they win enough in the NFC East?
- 15:19Speaker 2: That's the biggest question. That's why if they do, that's
- 15:21Speaker 2: why it's going to be my coach of the year.
- 15:22Speaker 2: You got Philly two times.
- 15:24Speaker 1: If you could take out Philly and Dallas once and
- 15:26Speaker 1: win out some of the bigger games, now it's going
- 15:29Speaker 1: to be like, oh. And we got Jaden back from Washington. Yeah,
- 15:32Speaker 1: so that's what I'm saying, like, If he can overcome
- 15:35Speaker 1: all the adversity of the injuries, you know what I mean? And,
- 15:40Speaker 1: you know, sneak into that top two of the division
- 15:42Speaker 1: at NFC East, which is stacked, I think Coach Harbaugh
- 15:45Speaker 1: could be.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I think Joe Brady has the easiest track to coach
- 15:51Speaker 2: of the year.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Yeah, because you're already walking into a Hall of Fame quarterback.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Walking into a Hall of Fame quarterback, you're in the
- 15:55Speaker 1: AFC East, you know what I'm saying? Like, you're walking
- 15:58Speaker 1: into success. Like, that was a playoff team. They're what?
- 16:03Speaker 1: three plays away from going into the AFC Championship. So
- 16:07Speaker 1: you're walking into an AFC Championship caliber team already.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Yeah, play caller in the quarterback, they mesh, they gel.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Seems like folks like Joe Brady. That's my pick.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good pick. I'm not mad at that.
- 16:19Speaker 1: I just like when guys get over the hump. Take
- 16:21Speaker 1: a team over the hump some. I don't want a
- 16:23Speaker 1: team that has already been proven. If you can take
- 16:28Speaker 1: a team that hasn't had success to me and– change
- 16:32Speaker 1: the culture. I'm talking to Abdul Carter. He's like, the
- 16:35Speaker 1: culture's way different with Harbaugh here. Those type of things,
- 16:39Speaker 1: when you're culture-driven, when you're motivated to win, succeed, and
- 16:43Speaker 1: change a program, that to me holds way more weight
- 16:46Speaker 1: than to a culture that's already been set by a
- 16:48Speaker 1: franchise quarterback. Lyman's already been there. You already got strength
- 16:53Speaker 1: and people who's already been established in the building. You
- 16:56Speaker 1: know what I mean? That's different weight classes.
- 16:59Speaker 2: It changes a little bit. That's why I think about
- 17:02Speaker 2: Kellen Moore then. He in the NFC South, he got
- 17:05Speaker 2: a chance to win some games with the Saints. They
- 17:07Speaker 2: got a chance. They can sneak around. Let's take it
- 17:09Speaker 2: to Defensive Rookie of the Year.
- 17:12Speaker 1: This is a good one.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I know you up to date on all the draft class.
- 17:16Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Who are you rolling with there?
- 17:18Speaker 1: I'm going to go with Carnell Tate. It's been receiver
- 17:20Speaker 1: the past. Oh, we go, okay. Yeah, we're going to
- 17:22Speaker 1: go offense then. So offense. Let's say offense. You're going
- 17:25Speaker 1: to go Cardinal Tate? Yeah, I'm going to go Cardinal Tate.
- 17:27Speaker 1: You think he's.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Going to be able to do it? He wasn't the
- 17:29Speaker 2: number one receiver at Ohio State. You think he's going
- 17:31Speaker 2: to come in to the NFL, be a number one receiver,
- 17:33Speaker 2: and be able to take over?
- 17:34Speaker 1: Yeah. I think he's that good. Really? He's smooth. I
- 17:38Speaker 1: love watching him play. Smooth operator. Smooth operator. You got
- 17:42Speaker 1: a dark horse there? Dark horse, I'm going to go Mendoza.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Just because I know he's not going to start right away.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Come to it a little later. Yeah. And see what
- 17:54Speaker 1: he can do then. And see what he can do.
- 17:57Speaker 1: All right. I'm going to give you that one. I
- 17:59Speaker 1: got some concerns about Mendoza.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I think his learning curve is just going to be
- 18:02Speaker 2: longer because of all the RPO stuff.
- 18:04Speaker 1: He was doing in college. It's going to be tough
- 18:06Speaker 1: to get ready for the NFL game. His preseason clips
- 18:09Speaker 1: show me that he has the capability more. I was
- 18:12Speaker 1: a little concerned too. I was a little concerned too
- 18:14Speaker 1: coming out of the draft. I wasn't sure if they
- 18:16Speaker 1: should take him number one. But some of the throws
- 18:18Speaker 1: he threw in preseason, releasing the ball on time, putting
- 18:22Speaker 1: it where only the receiver could catch it, like playing
- 18:25Speaker 1: with that type of confidence and poise early in your career,
- 18:28Speaker 1: when you have that, you kind of like, all right,
- 18:30Speaker 1: this guy, he's not just a– He got a chance. Yeah,
- 18:34Speaker 1: he really do. So I'm not going to write him off.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I think he's very capable of having a season because
- 18:41Speaker 1: he– I don't know, man. He just says the right things.
- 18:44Speaker 1: All the time. It's like a nerdy.
- 18:45Speaker 2: He says it's so nerdy, but you like, I respect it.
- 18:48Speaker 2: He's saying authentically. Yeah, I respect it.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I could tell how he talks. That's who he is.
- 18:55Speaker 1: He's not faking it. It's almost like the Jameis Winston. Yeah,
- 18:58Speaker 1: you got to respect him. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I think he's going to ball and he can ball.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he's got a bright future. I don't
- 19:05Speaker 2: know if it's going to be the first year, but
- 19:06Speaker 2: I think he's going to be a good player. All right,
- 19:07Speaker 2: let's go to defense. Defensive rookie of the year.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I'm going to go Reuben Baines. Ooh. He
- 19:15Speaker 1: did some stuff in the preseason. And that's why I'm
- 19:18Speaker 1: going to go Ruben Bain. Mm-hmm. Everyone was questioning the
- 19:21Speaker 1: arm length, his superpowers, what he can do. But watching
- 19:27Speaker 1: the joint practice clips of him rushing, watching the preseason,
- 19:32Speaker 1: his power's too– he's too powerful.
- 19:35Speaker 2: So when you say that as a defensive– as an edge,
- 19:38Speaker 2: like what are you saying when you say the power?
- 19:39Speaker 1: Like what is he doing? I'm saying he moves people. Mm. Like,
- 19:44Speaker 1: he has that type of juice to him. Like, he's
- 19:47Speaker 1: moving people. Like, grown men just throwing them. Humping, like...
- 19:51Speaker 1: Getting them out the way. Yeah, like, if you could
- 19:54Speaker 1: do that in a league, you're going to have a
- 19:56Speaker 1: lot of success. Because a lot of people just like
- 19:58Speaker 1: to get around people. Like, you know what I mean? Saucy, saucy.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Like finesse. Yeah, but if you're moving people, you're in
- 20:04Speaker 1: a different category.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I like Caleb Downs. I think he's going to do
- 20:08Speaker 2: some special things, but I can see... Reuben Bain being
- 20:10Speaker 2: that guy.
- 20:11Speaker 1: The only thing that I've noticed, the reason why I
- 20:14Speaker 1: hate throwing out the awards with certain positions, is Caleb
- 20:18Speaker 1: Downs is fully capable of doing it. He can play
- 20:20Speaker 1: at an elite level. You see he's moving around a lot,
- 20:23Speaker 1: guarding receivers, in the box. He can do it all.
- 20:28Speaker 1: But I learned in this league, the awards is kind
- 20:31Speaker 1: of written off towards certain positions already. He will almost
- 20:34Speaker 1: have to have a Charles Wood senior for him to
- 20:37Speaker 1: get it. Yeah, it's tough at safety. Yeah, like even
- 20:41Speaker 1: offensive player of the year, it's always going to be
- 20:43Speaker 1: a quarterback or a receiver. You know what I mean?
- 20:46Speaker 1: Like even defense is going to be a– probably going
- 20:48Speaker 1: to be a defensive lineman. Yeah, it's going to be
- 20:50Speaker 1: an edge or Aaron Donald. Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 20:52Speaker 1: Like it's always going to be that MVP is going
- 20:55Speaker 1: to be a quarterback. So it's just kind of how
- 20:58Speaker 1: the league has shifted nowadays. Back then it was much different.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You could win MVP from defense, but now the writers
- 21:07Speaker 1: just kind of– It's the quarterbacks that won football games.
- 21:10Speaker 1: That's a bet. Before we move on to something else,
- 21:12Speaker 1: give me one bold prediction from this season. That's tough.
- 21:19Speaker 1: In what aspect? Anything.
- 21:22Speaker 2: You can say who you think is going to win
- 21:24Speaker 2: the Super Bowl. You know what I'm saying?
- 21:26Speaker 1: Something crazy, something that other folks might not be thinking.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I'm going to say Packers Bowl. Packers win the NFC
- 21:33Speaker 1: North and win the Super Bowl? Yes. Yes. So the
- 21:37Speaker 1: Bears aren't going to be the team. It's going to
- 21:39Speaker 1: be the Packers. And we're going to talk about it.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Let's talk about it. Talk about it. Tell me about it.
- 21:44Speaker 1: I told you, Jordan Love, MVP. And I'm going to
- 21:47Speaker 1: tell you why, though. Okay. Recently, right, and you notice this,
- 21:51Speaker 1: and it's a trusting and good things that Matt LaFleur
- 21:55Speaker 1: allowed Jordan to call the plays. I'm saying this is amazing,
- 21:59Speaker 1: and I'm saying we're going to see a different level
- 22:01Speaker 1: of Jordan Love because– there's going to be– it always
- 22:06Speaker 1: gets to that point, right? Like I love this from
- 22:08Speaker 1: the defensive side. I'm going to say it from my
- 22:10Speaker 1: side before I talk about Jordan's side. But when I
- 22:13Speaker 1: come into the meeting for third down segment, They go, hey, Mike,
- 22:18Speaker 1: this is the blitzes we have up. Where do you
- 22:20Speaker 1: want guys? Where do you think we're going to have
- 22:22Speaker 1: this best? And we're watching the film. Like, this is
- 22:24Speaker 1: just me and my coaches. They give you that kind
- 22:26Speaker 1: of freedom. Yes. From Zimmerman to Dan Quinn, Aiden Durden,
- 22:33Speaker 1: to even last year with Halfley, D. Covington, D.O. Like,
- 22:39Speaker 1: every coach I've had, I've always had the ability to say, hey, Mike,
- 22:42Speaker 1: you're going to command third down. Like, this is your money.
- 22:47Speaker 1: You get us lined up. You communicate. Great. I'll take
- 22:50Speaker 1: that job. And that allows me to be great. Like, hey,
- 22:53Speaker 1: you line up over this guy. You set guys there.
- 22:55Speaker 1: You kind of let us know where do you think
- 22:58Speaker 1: is going to bring us to life. Mind you, this
- 22:59Speaker 1: is just the front. I don't control the back end.
- 23:02Speaker 1: But the front is kind of how we set the
- 23:05Speaker 1: standard for the back end. So, and that mindset, seeing
- 23:10Speaker 1: that from like, hey, I'm controlling third down. Now, I think...
- 23:15Speaker 1: I hit me like, oh, wow, I'm an all-pro caliber player.
- 23:17Speaker 1: They're putting this time and investment into me. Now you
- 23:20Speaker 1: put that into the offensive perspective. There's going to be
- 23:23Speaker 1: a time this year where maybe the offense isn't doing
- 23:27Speaker 1: well and Jordan just completely just takes over. And, like,
- 23:35Speaker 1: that's what you want out of your quarterback, that full takeover, like, hey,
- 23:38Speaker 1: like– check, check. I'm going to command this. Let's get
- 23:42Speaker 1: into this, this, this. I think if we see that,
- 23:45Speaker 1: like that trust. And I see the way like Matt
- 23:47Speaker 1: talks about Jordan, like get, cause when the relationship becomes
- 23:52Speaker 1: more than like, these are play calls, you run them
- 23:55Speaker 1: to like, Hey, what do you think we get into here? Like,
- 23:57Speaker 1: what are you feeling? Hey, I trust you. Like, and
- 24:00Speaker 1: just like now that he knows he can trust Jordan
- 24:02Speaker 1: and get into the right plays and Even Jordan say,
- 24:05Speaker 1: he's like, man, I kind of see what he's talking about. Like,
- 24:07Speaker 1: you got to check to the run. Like, I was nervous. Like,
- 24:10Speaker 1: just hearing that type of thing, you're like, he gets it, bro. Like,
- 24:13Speaker 1: he gets it. Like, I think that's so dope to me, bro. Like,
- 24:17Speaker 1: he gets it. Like, he's like, I see, like, from
- 24:20Speaker 1: the play caller's perspective, like, I see from the other
- 24:22Speaker 1: end of what it's like, and now I can be
- 24:25Speaker 1: in it. Like, I think that's dope, bro.
- 24:26Speaker 2: So, we got Green Bay in the Super Bowl as
- 24:28Speaker 2: a bold prediction. But since we already on, Jordan Love
- 24:30Speaker 2: calling plays. How did you feel when you seen him
- 24:33Speaker 2: on the sideline preseason game, second half, taking over the button,
- 24:37Speaker 2: calling the joint?
- 24:38Speaker 1: Bro, no one knew. No one knew. Oh, y'all didn't know.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Y'all on the sideline. Y'all have no idea. There was
- 24:41Speaker 1: whispers like, hey, Jordan might call the second half. But
- 24:44Speaker 1: no one, even him, he wasn't prepared. They just threw
- 24:48Speaker 1: him in the fire. He said in the beginning of
- 24:52Speaker 1: the game, he's like, hey, I might have you call
- 24:54Speaker 1: the second half. So just letting you know.
- 24:57Speaker 2: What does that say about Jordan? What does that say
- 24:59Speaker 2: about his ability to not even have the time to
- 25:01Speaker 2: prepare and just be like, all right, I'll call it.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I got it. That's what I mean, that confidence, that charisma,
- 25:06Speaker 1: that stay-ready mentality. Like, hey, I'll call it. And then
- 25:10Speaker 1: see how good he did. That's fire. Like, that's what
- 25:14Speaker 1: you want. Like, I think, like, you should challenge all
- 25:17Speaker 1: your quarterbacks to do that around the league. Like, this
- 25:20Speaker 1: your guy? Like, obviously, it's different because, you know, they
- 25:23Speaker 1: got– years on knowing each other but now that it's
- 25:27Speaker 1: established that that trust and mutual interest of wanting to
- 25:31Speaker 1: win and that hey hey if Jordan like hey we
- 25:34Speaker 1: should get into this like trust me on this like
- 25:36Speaker 1: I'm on the field I think that holds more weight
- 25:39Speaker 1: than anything so what's.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Your big prediction for his year I mean we got
- 25:43Speaker 2: MVP you got the Super Bowl I think you you
- 25:46Speaker 2: said it he's.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Hitting it all yeah This the year, bro. Like, just
- 25:50Speaker 1: having all his receivers healthy, MG, Jaden Reed, Christian Watson,
- 25:54Speaker 1: Tuck's a craft back. Just that right there is like,
- 25:59Speaker 1: you know, and even the depth that we have in
- 26:00Speaker 1: those positions, like some guys that people don't even know about,
- 26:04Speaker 1: I think it's going to really make some noise.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Man, we on the topic of play calling, drawing up plays,
- 26:10Speaker 2: this and that.
- 26:11Speaker 1: I know you've done it before, like an unstoppable play. Yeah.
- 26:14Speaker 1: I get to draw one, you get to draw a defense. Yeah.
- 26:17Speaker 1: You think you're ready for it? You think you can
- 26:19Speaker 1: stop the play that I'm about to do? Yeah, let
- 26:20Speaker 1: me see what you got.
- 26:21Speaker 2: All right, I'm going to let you know that you're
- 26:22Speaker 2: going to see this play this year. Okay, you want
- 26:25Speaker 2: two by two, three by one?
- 26:26Speaker 1: You let me know. No, you design what you want
- 26:29Speaker 1: to design. What's the down and distance? Let's go third
- 26:33Speaker 1: and five. That keeps it very... Third and five, I'm
- 26:36Speaker 1: with it, okay? Yeah. Third and five ball on 35.
- 26:41Speaker 1: So you could... A sack could send you out of...
- 26:44Speaker 1: Out of field goal range? Out of field goal range. Okay,
- 26:45Speaker 1: so we're going to go... We are going to start.
- 26:48Speaker 1: We'll go three by one for you. You know what
- 26:49Speaker 1: I'm saying? We'll have the F here. We'll have the
- 26:52Speaker 1: Y here. So you're a bunch. Yeah. No, I'm going
- 26:56Speaker 1: to have those two tight. I got my Z. Okay.
- 26:58Speaker 1: He's top of the numbers. X. Okay. And then what
- 27:01Speaker 1: we're going to do here is we'll start. We'll go
- 27:04Speaker 1: Q here. We'll have my H here. Let me. I
- 27:07Speaker 1: don't know how to. Oh, we can undo. We got
- 27:11Speaker 1: our Q. We got our H. All right. I'm going
- 27:13Speaker 1: to let you know who I got everywhere. Okay. Okay.
- 27:16Speaker 1: We got Trey McBride at the tight end. Okay. F,
- 27:19Speaker 1: we got.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Jackson Smith and Jigba. Okay. Z, we got Jamison Williams
- 27:24Speaker 2: from the Lions.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Fast, speed.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I need some speed out there. X, we got my
- 27:29Speaker 2: boy Justin Jefferson. Back, we're going to go with, we'll
- 27:34Speaker 2: go Bijan. And then quarterback, I'm going.
- 27:37Speaker 1: To go with Caleb. Caleb Williams. Caleb Williams. That's because
- 27:40Speaker 1: he runs this plate all the time. This is his joint, okay?
- 27:44Speaker 2: We're in a fast motion. We're going to get Trey
- 27:45Speaker 2: McBride in the motion. You guys are going to get alert.
- 27:47Speaker 2: We got a Z.
- 27:48Speaker 1: He's got a go.
- 27:50Speaker 2: We're vertical. We're taking the top off. He's going to
- 27:53Speaker 2: run this wheel. So you guys are going to think
- 27:55Speaker 2: we're getting escorted here because we got the back on
- 27:58Speaker 2: the swing. So we're pushing out there already. Now I
- 28:01Speaker 2: got my F.
- 28:02Speaker 1: He's here. He's got the juke. He got the option.
- 28:04Speaker 2: He can work here or here. And if we zone
- 28:07Speaker 2: it up, he's going to sit down here. My ex
- 28:09Speaker 2: was in a tight split. Justin Jefferson.
- 28:12Speaker 1: We got the over. So we got high-low bind.
- 28:15Speaker 2: We got width and expansion. And I just think we're
- 28:18Speaker 2: in a really tough spot. And we're just going to
- 28:20Speaker 2: send the protection to the left to protect us from
- 28:22Speaker 2: any boundary pressure. You come bring field pressure, we're going
- 28:25Speaker 2: to hit the F right over the ball. How are
- 28:27Speaker 2: you going to stop that?
- 28:29Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie. We're going to run fence
- 28:31Speaker 1: defense on that. Quarters? Yeah. Oh, that's great. We got
- 28:37Speaker 1: all kind of options to go quarters. No, because I'm
- 28:40Speaker 1: going to tell you why. Actually, you know what? Third
- 28:44Speaker 1: and five, sack gets you out. I'm going to blitz this.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I'm not even going to let this develop. Where are
- 28:48Speaker 1: we blitzing from? I'm going to blitz up the middle.
- 28:50Speaker 1: That back ain't going to be able to swing out.
- 28:52Speaker 1: We're free releasing. We'll just take the high. Oh, then
- 28:55Speaker 1: we're getting off the field. That's a rally tackle. Oh,
- 28:58Speaker 1: my God. So you can go double mug. I could
- 29:00Speaker 1: throw it to the F right over the ball. No. No.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Because double mug, we coming out of that. You got
- 29:05Speaker 1: to read the blitz. You know, one person comes out,
- 29:08Speaker 1: other one go. So if you just setting a protection left. Yeah,
- 29:11Speaker 1: we set a protection left. The middle one and the backs.
- 29:14Speaker 1: So that means the quarterback is going to have to
- 29:16Speaker 1: throw it to the back. We got options. We got
- 29:18Speaker 1: this as our hot. That hot's not going to make
- 29:21Speaker 1: it because of the middle line. We're dropping straight to three.
- 29:24Speaker 1: So he's not going to be able to read the quick,
- 29:26Speaker 1: the option route.
- 29:27Speaker 2: So you're saying your middle linebacker is going to be
- 29:28Speaker 2: here and he's dropping right here to take it away?
- 29:31Speaker 1: If we're in double mug. Double mug. Double mug. we
- 29:34Speaker 1: got that means hold on listen we're in jet front
- 29:37Speaker 1: okay three three two threes okay we got two here
- 29:41Speaker 1: we got tackle here.
- 29:43Speaker 2: And you're here and you got ends what we got
- 29:45Speaker 2: yes we got two ends okay and and double mug
- 29:49Speaker 2: mike will step.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Up okay we got will here we got the mic
- 29:52Speaker 1: here Now, pull up your buns. Pull up my buns? Okay,
- 29:56Speaker 1: I'll get everything back together for you. Put it back together.
- 29:59Speaker 1: F here, Z here, X here. I mean, yeah, X here.
- 30:03Speaker 1: And we're turning here. Turning here. Hey, you know we
- 30:08Speaker 1: got turn here. We're going to base here. Base here. Hey,
- 30:13Speaker 1: it takes two. One, two to make us hot. If
- 30:15Speaker 1: you don't bring two, we good. Hold on. Listen, listen.
- 30:19Speaker 1: This is why double mug Conflicts to the offense, right? Mm-hmm.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Basic protection rules. Now, drop your offense, please. Okay. You
- 30:29Speaker 1: want the play? Because this is my offense. No, no.
- 30:31Speaker 1: I want the play. Drop the play. Okay. We got
- 30:33Speaker 1: F here. He got the option. Boom. Juke. Okay. My
- 30:39Speaker 1: Z has that go. My Y on that there. My
- 30:44Speaker 1: H here.
- 30:47Speaker 2: We got the deep over. He's going to be 18
- 30:49Speaker 2: to 22. My quarterback here.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Right. Basic protection rules. We're already taking the back out
- 30:55Speaker 1: of the equation because the tight ends motion out. So
- 30:59Speaker 1: the back, no matter what, he has to check in
- 31:02Speaker 1: to the protection because we got seven showing. Y'all don't
- 31:04Speaker 1: have enough to block us. So we can eliminate almost
- 31:07Speaker 1: every route up there except for the option route because
- 31:10Speaker 1: somebody has to go hot with the double mayboy front.
- 31:13Speaker 1: The back literally has to come up and say, yo, hey,
- 31:17Speaker 1: you need to step up because look, nothing will ever
- 31:21Speaker 1: get made because we're reading the center. Oh, yeah, you
- 31:25Speaker 1: guys are turning off where we go. So if the
- 31:26Speaker 1: center steps up, goes left, I bet. Will, you're dropping
- 31:30Speaker 1: the three. The mic. So Will goes to three. He
- 31:32Speaker 1: goes to the three-man side. Yes. So he's going straight
- 31:35Speaker 1: to the F. He's moving to the F. He's moving
- 31:38Speaker 1: to the F. Hold on. Hear me out. If the
- 31:40Speaker 1: back leaves, that means he has a free run. The
- 31:44Speaker 1: mic has a free run to the quarterback. So, I'm
- 31:47Speaker 1: going to tell you right there. The back, he better
- 31:49Speaker 1: check in. He better stay into the front right now.
- 31:52Speaker 1: He better stay into the front right. Or he's never,
- 31:54Speaker 1: none of those routes will ever get off. Ever.
- 31:56Speaker 2: If we got to check and protect, we still good.
- 31:58Speaker 1: All right. Check and protect. Okay. Check your protection. All right.
- 32:01Speaker 1: We're going to check it. Step up. Put him up
- 32:03Speaker 1: about halfway through. We'll take him here. He got the.
- 32:05Speaker 1: He got two. We got two. He got the. So,
- 32:08Speaker 1: erase his route. This is gone. Cool. Cool. So, now
- 32:12Speaker 1: we good. So, now the question is on the back end, right? Yeah.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Because the pressure's coming. Yeah. Will he have enough time?
- 32:20Speaker 1: His best route is the alpha route, but I don't
- 32:23Speaker 1: know if he's going to have enough time. I love
- 32:24Speaker 1: this Duke. Bijan? Mm-hmm. Let's think of a rushing linebacker.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Who are we going to put him on? It's Bijan
- 32:30Speaker 1: versus who? I'm going to say Lou Vu from Washington.
- 32:36Speaker 1: He's rushing. He's rushing. All right. Bijan versus Lou Vu.
- 32:40Speaker 1: You know, you're free. Hey, just get his way, Bijan.
- 32:43Speaker 1: That's all I need. Just get his way. I mean,
- 32:45Speaker 1: we're good because we got a five-man rush. We got
- 32:48Speaker 1: a five-man rush. I think between me, Miles Garrett, Jeffrey Simmons,
- 32:54Speaker 1: and we're going to throw Aaron Donald back in there.
- 32:57Speaker 1: We winning one of them one-on-ones. We just need a second. Hey,
- 33:03Speaker 1: your best option is going to have to be that
- 33:06Speaker 1: option around where F, but even then, which would be
- 33:11Speaker 1: a good play because, one, the corner's gone. With the motion,
- 33:18Speaker 1: because we read, and honestly, depending on how we play it,
- 33:22Speaker 1: the corner might not even have to go with them
- 33:24Speaker 1: because two don't go– I mean, if two goes vertical,
- 33:28Speaker 1: that means the corner's going vertical. Yeah, we exchanged two,
- 33:31Speaker 1: so we made two go vertical now. Yeah, so with that,
- 33:33Speaker 1: our corner might be, with safety rotating that way, because
- 33:36Speaker 1: we're standing four high, he's pushing that way anyway. With that,
- 33:41Speaker 1: we're going to sit right in there, you know what
- 33:43Speaker 1: I mean? Like, we're going to be in a good
- 33:45Speaker 1: spot for you. Because the nickel, the nickel, he's going
- 33:48Speaker 1: to be there too. We still got the nickel. Nickel,
- 33:51Speaker 1: he got to make a decision. Because if the nickel
- 33:53Speaker 1: takes the F, we got to overcome it. I mean, no, no, no.
- 33:56Speaker 1: The nickel's not taking the F. The nickel's going to
- 33:58Speaker 1: have to go with the Y. He got to carry. Yeah,
- 34:00Speaker 1: he has to carry. And any curl flat rules, you
- 34:04Speaker 1: got to carry the wheel. Got to carry. You have
- 34:05Speaker 1: to carry the wheel. So the question is really, it's
- 34:08Speaker 1: going to be tough. You really got to bank it on,
- 34:11Speaker 1: you know what I mean, JSN. He got to win. Yeah,
- 34:14Speaker 1: he got to win. He got to win fast. Also,
- 34:17Speaker 1: not only has he got to win, the quarterback has
- 34:20Speaker 1: to stay on the spot. If we can move the
- 34:21Speaker 1: quarterback to the spot, it's going to be a long
- 34:24Speaker 1: day for this play. That's right. Hey, just know this.
- 34:26Speaker 2: If you got a plan to stop this play, you
- 34:28Speaker 2: can stop the Bears on third and medium, third and
- 34:31Speaker 2: five to eight.
- 34:32Speaker 1: This is what they're running.
- 34:32Speaker 2: They're going to run it a few different ways, but
- 34:35Speaker 2: I'm giving you the keys to the test.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Okay. I'm going to memory bank this one, but I
- 34:39Speaker 1: guarantee that bat is coming up. He's not getting up.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Without this play, it'll be a very hard play to stop. Yeah,
- 34:46Speaker 1: it's tough. You know what I mean? Because all you
- 34:48Speaker 1: have to go, because you're taking the nickel out of it.
- 34:51Speaker 1: The nickel has to go with that wheel route. And then,
- 34:54Speaker 1: you know what I mean? If you're playing three high,
- 34:57Speaker 1: it's a little bit easier because, and it might be
- 35:01Speaker 1: better to play three to this because now you have,
- 35:04Speaker 1: when you have, you have a four-way. Right now, you're building.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I'm building a four-man. Yeah, you're building a four-man, which
- 35:09Speaker 1: is good. You know what I mean? But now this
- 35:13Speaker 1: gives us our leverage back. We're our bet. Our nickel
- 35:17Speaker 1: don't always have to push out. Like, we can play
- 35:19Speaker 1: a lot more patient. Like, for one, if the back
- 35:22Speaker 1: doesn't go out, the mic, he's going to float over there,
- 35:25Speaker 1: but he doesn't have to grab it right away. So
- 35:27Speaker 1: now we're pairing up on that. We're pairing up the
- 35:30Speaker 1: option route. Because now 40 really is like a man coverage.
- 35:36Speaker 1: It's quarters with man because you're matching. Yeah, you match. Yeah,
- 35:39Speaker 1: you're playing match zone. This kind of gives us a
- 35:42Speaker 1: lot of love because we're not matching this little wheel
- 35:45Speaker 1: right away, the little whatever that is by the back.
- 35:49Speaker 1: We're not having to match that. So we can play
- 35:50Speaker 1: that with leverage, and you can help if we play
- 35:53Speaker 1: it in three. If we play this in three, let's
- 35:55Speaker 1: just say we play three, right? And we're like, we're
- 35:59Speaker 1: just going to show three. We're going to show man,
- 36:01Speaker 1: but we're really playing three. And we just come up
- 36:04Speaker 1: like that, like we'll be even a better spot because
- 36:06Speaker 1: now both our linebackers dropping out and we're still taking–
- 36:11Speaker 1: The running back out to play. I think three really
- 36:13Speaker 1: might be better for this play. If he goes three
- 36:14Speaker 1: and we don't bring pressure, hey, we got a first down.
- 36:16Speaker 1: We got a first down. Three and we don't bring pressure,
- 36:19Speaker 1: I think we bag this. We bag this. This is
- 36:23Speaker 1: a perfect play to three. I think the only problem
- 36:27Speaker 1: you'll have with this in three is that the corner
- 36:31Speaker 1: has a long job on the back end because you
- 36:33Speaker 1: got to carry this over.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Hey, listen, I can't wait to see the Green Bay
- 36:37Speaker 2: Packers play against this play this season.
- 36:40Speaker 1: And we can see how they handle it. Yeah, let's see.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Let's see. Everything's about play calls, though. Everything's about play calls.
- 36:45Speaker 1: But that is a wrap. I want to thank you
- 36:47Speaker 1: guys for tuning in to The Edge presented by Wayfair.
- 36:50Speaker 1: This has been another amazing show. Thank you, Q, for
- 36:54Speaker 1: coming back on. It's been great having you. And I
- 36:57Speaker 1: can't wait to keep this ball going. And, guys, preseason
- 37:01Speaker 1: is over. We'll see you guys in a few weeks.
- 37:03Speaker 1: It is going to be so fun tuning in to
- 37:05Speaker 1: week one, breaking down what we see. It's time to
- 37:10Speaker 1: see who really knows ball. And we're going to see
- 37:12Speaker 1: it in the first three, four weeks about how this
- 37:15Speaker 1: is about to go down, who's playing good, and why
- 37:17Speaker 1: you're not playing good. So let's get into it. We'll
- 37:20Speaker 1: see you soon.
