- 0:07Speaker 1: It's Me Podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the only game show where
- 0:12Speaker 2: conservation always wins. There is a prize. Meat Eater will
- 0:16Speaker 2: donate five hundred dollars to the conservation organization of the
- 0:19Speaker 2: winner's choosing. I'm your host, spent to New Arth and
- 0:22Speaker 2: today we're joined by Randall, Seth, Corey, Nate, Marge and Omar.
- 0:26Speaker 2: This is a ten round quiz show with questions from
- 0:29Speaker 2: meat eaters four verticals, which are hunting, fishing, conservation and cooking.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Meat Eater Trivia is brought to you by one of
- 0:35Speaker 2: my favorite beers, bush Light Head for the Mountains. All right,
- 0:38Speaker 2: we're starting today's episode with a mail bag question. Hello,
- 0:43Speaker 2: my name is Jefferson, and I have a question for
- 0:45Speaker 2: the crew. I'm going to be a new father within
- 0:48Speaker 2: the next few weeks. I understand that with a newborn
- 0:51Speaker 2: and working full time, it'll be tougher to get into
- 0:54Speaker 2: the woods and on the creek. What advice do you
- 0:57Speaker 2: have for balancing hunting and fish with work plus a newborn. Corey,
- 1:04Speaker 2: as the senior most outdoorsman in here with a child,
- 1:07Speaker 2: what advice do you have for Jefferson? And then we're
- 1:10Speaker 2: gonna hear from Seth who's had a baby for how long?
- 1:13Speaker 3: Seth?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Can I guess what your advice is?
- 1:15Speaker 2: And we'll hear from Omar who's had a baby for
- 1:17Speaker 2: how long?
- 1:18Speaker 4: Seven months?
- 1:19Speaker 2: Okay, Corey, sure, Randall, let's hear it.
- 1:21Speaker 5: So how do you balance family, fishing and hunting and
- 1:25Speaker 5: work and that work slide right?
- 1:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't know, slip a little.
- 1:33Speaker 6: I mean, gosh, that first year, my wife's a saint.
- 1:36Speaker 6: I was I guided nine weeks when my son was whatever,
- 1:41Speaker 6: six to nine months old, and she did everything.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Not guiding people in like goose pits.
- 1:48Speaker 6: Right, guiding elk hunters like five days at a time.
- 1:51Speaker 6: And I'd come home for a couple of days and
- 1:53Speaker 6: just keep the breast pumps sanitized, keep the house clean,
- 1:57Speaker 6: keep the wife happy, assuming there's a baby mama. That's
- 2:01Speaker 6: usually how it works, right in my experience, I think, so, yeah,
- 2:05Speaker 6: keep mom happy and balance, and if you can, I mean,
- 2:08Speaker 6: if the weather permits, bring him with you.
- 2:11Speaker 2: How old is Prince Marshall? Right now, he's doing good.
- 2:14Speaker 6: He's eight eight, he's thriving, he's shooting a boat and
- 2:18Speaker 6: getting ready about years.
- 2:20Speaker 2: One through eight then beyond just that that first year, Yeah,
- 2:25Speaker 2: same thing.
- 2:25Speaker 6: I mean, balance with your partner best you can, you know,
- 2:28Speaker 6: make sure she or he whatever gets their time, and
- 2:32Speaker 6: then you go get yours.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Seth hasn't quit fish in one bit since he's been
- 2:37Speaker 2: it's been.
- 2:37Speaker 7: A struggle to put my days in.
- 2:41Speaker 2: What advice do you have for Jefferson?
- 2:45Speaker 3: You know, just when you are.
- 2:47Speaker 7: Home and and and around and available, just help as
- 2:51Speaker 7: much as possible. And then, uh, like Corey said, my
- 2:56Speaker 7: wife's a saying she's letting me get away with far
- 3:00Speaker 7: more than I probably should be able to get away with.
- 3:03Speaker 7: But I think Virgil was a week old when I
- 3:05Speaker 7: drove to South Dakota.
- 3:06Speaker 3: But to pick up a boat.
- 3:09Speaker 7: And then went on a fishing trip shortly after that.
- 3:13Speaker 7: One thing that's helpful for us is as far as
- 3:16Speaker 7: fishing is, like all my fishing buddies, their wives are
- 3:19Speaker 7: friends with my wife, and they all have young kids too,
- 3:23Speaker 7: So like trying to plan a trip fishing trip, family trip,
- 3:29Speaker 7: flash fishing, we all just end up at a place
- 3:33Speaker 7: on a lake, you know, or like this past weekend
- 3:35Speaker 7: we fished a tournament and the wives.
- 3:38Speaker 8: Like hung out with the kids during the day while
- 3:41Speaker 8: we fished. It was you know, there's ways around it,
- 3:45Speaker 8: just I don't know.
- 3:46Speaker 3: You kind of got to feel it out and figure
- 3:48Speaker 3: out what's going to work for you and your family.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Sat is competing in two tournaments since he's been a dad.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yet, well one and one legit one yeah was kind
- 4:00Speaker 3: of made up, but.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah, omar any advice.
- 4:03Speaker 9: You know, we got this calendar. It's like a you know,
- 4:05Speaker 9: Google calendar at home. We got this calendar back back home.
- 4:10Speaker 9: It's a lunar calendar. So I'll like set aside, like
- 4:14Speaker 9: my plans well in advanced before I know it, you know,
- 4:17Speaker 9: kind of like we do out work. So you know,
- 4:19Speaker 9: I got Alaska Caribou coming up August seventh through the eighteenth,
- 4:23Speaker 9: and she kind of knows it.
- 4:24Speaker 4: And then the weeks and days leading.
- 4:26Speaker 9: Up before that, I'm just trying to be present around
- 4:28Speaker 9: as much as I can help with the baby.
- 4:31Speaker 4: And then September is packed too.
- 4:33Speaker 9: I think'm gonna be gone from the second all the
- 4:34Speaker 9: way to the end September on you know, personal trips
- 4:37Speaker 9: and work trips. So just making sure it's like known,
- 4:39Speaker 9: communicated and we're on the same page. And you know,
- 4:43Speaker 9: one thing I think is key to that, like Seth
- 4:46Speaker 9: talked about, was like your wife having support around there
- 4:51Speaker 9: too to you know, if something does come up, you
- 4:54Speaker 9: know she's got friends or families she could reach out to.
- 4:57Speaker 9: I know it's not always the case for everyone, but
- 4:59Speaker 9: you know, friends help a lot, a lot. And uh
- 5:02Speaker 9: but I think at the end of the day, like
- 5:03Speaker 9: baby's gonna be fine. Go and get some meat. You're
- 5:05Speaker 9: providing too.
- 5:06Speaker 7: Right, Yeah, if you have the means, say you want
- 5:09Speaker 7: to go on a week long hunting trip or fishing trip,
- 5:12Speaker 7: and you have the means to buy your mother in
- 5:14Speaker 7: law a plane ticket, yep, and come out and hang
- 5:17Speaker 7: out while you're gone, that's that's.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Okay, great, it's taking notes over there soon, dad, Yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 2: big notes. Thank uh Yeah. If you have a question
- 5:26Speaker 2: you want us to answer, send your question to Trivia
- 5:28Speaker 2: at the Medeater dot com with the subject line mailbag.
- 5:31Speaker 2: All right, a little bit of housekeeping before today's show.
- 5:34Speaker 2: On August thirteenth, at the Milwaukee Meat Eater store, I'm
- 5:38Speaker 2: going to be hosting trivia from six pm to eight pm.
- 5:42Speaker 2: There's a grand prize of one thousand dollars. Teams of
- 5:44Speaker 2: up to four people can compete, but solo players are
- 5:48Speaker 2: also welcome. Spots are limited If you want to play,
- 5:51Speaker 2: go to the medeater dot com slash events to sign
- 5:54Speaker 2: up again. That's August thirteenth at the Milwaukee store, and
- 5:58Speaker 2: then two days later, August fifteenth, at the Minneapolis meat
- 6:02Speaker 2: Eater store. Me Clay, Brent, and Tony will be there
- 6:06Speaker 2: for a meet and greet for the grand opening. I
- 6:09Speaker 2: will be shaking hands and kissing babies from ten am
- 6:11Speaker 2: to two pm. We have gifts for the first one
- 6:14Speaker 2: hundred and fifty people and prizes that are given away
- 6:17Speaker 2: every hour. That's August fifteenth at the Minneapolis store. For
- 6:22Speaker 2: more information, go to the meadeater dot com slash events.
- 6:26Speaker 2: A right, today's episode is brought to you by Mountain
- 6:28Speaker 2: Dew and thanks to them, you are getting some extra
- 6:31Speaker 2: trivia this week. Between questions five and six, we'll have
- 6:34Speaker 2: two bonus questions thanks to our friends at Mountain Dew.
- 6:37Speaker 2: All right, the Shelby Index for today is a four,
- 6:39Speaker 2: so our winner should get eight correct answers and with
- 6:42Speaker 2: that we're onto the game of trivia. Play the drop Phil.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Look, I need to know what I stand under? Win everything?
- 6:53Speaker 1: How's it just tend to win everything?
- 7:02Speaker 7: Demon Suckers?
- 7:04Speaker 2: Question one. The topic is fishing This first great question
- 7:07Speaker 2: is via Joseph Pate, and as always, this will be
- 7:10Speaker 2: multiple choice. This state is famous for America's Biggest Jubilee,
- 7:16Speaker 2: an annual event where thousands of bottom dwelling sea creatures
- 7:21Speaker 2: swarm into very shallow water. Is it Alaska, South Carolina,
- 7:27Speaker 2: Hawaii or Alabama? The room is stumped.
- 7:34Speaker 6: I'll tell you where it ain't.
- 7:36Speaker 2: This state is famous for America's Biggest Jubilee, an annual
- 7:41Speaker 2: event where thousands of bottom dwelling sea creatures swarm into
- 7:46Speaker 2: very shallow water. Your four states are Alaska, South Carolina, Hawaii,
- 7:53Speaker 2: or Alabama. Nobody seems to know this one. We're gonna
- 7:57Speaker 2: have six guesses in the room. America's Biggest Jubilee, an
- 8:04Speaker 2: annual event where thousands of bottom dwelling sea creatures swarm
- 8:08Speaker 2: into very shallow water. Alaska, South Carolina, Hawaii, Alabama?
- 8:15Speaker 10: Is this like Jubilee for a specific creature.
- 8:19Speaker 2: We will talk about. I'll give you some examples after this,
- 8:22Speaker 2: but it's just sea creatures. Sea creatures is all I'm
- 8:25Speaker 2: going to tell you right now.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Mermaids.
- 8:29Speaker 2: It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth
- 8:35Speaker 2: says Alaska, Omar, Alabama, Randall, South Carolina, Corey, South Carolina, Nate,
- 8:43Speaker 2: South Carolina, Marge, South Carolina.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I just thought it sounded like a place where jubilee.
- 8:50Speaker 2: The correct answer is Alabama.
- 8:57Speaker 3: That's the Jewbilee.
- 8:59Speaker 2: The Mobile Old Bay Jubilee happens every summer. It occurs
- 9:03Speaker 2: due to a combination of hot weather, calm winds, heavy rain,
- 9:07Speaker 2: and incoming tides. When those factors line, thousands of flounder, eels,
- 9:11Speaker 2: sting rays, blue crabs, and shrimp move into ankle deep water.
- 9:15Speaker 2: The vast majority do you survive, but some are harvested
- 9:18Speaker 2: by humans and other predators. The Mobile Bay Jubilee is
- 9:22Speaker 2: second in size only to the Tokyo Bay Jubilee.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I want that.
- 9:26Speaker 4: Is that where real tide comes from?
- 9:29Speaker 2: Tied maybe I.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Like that.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Thinking we're looking at a photo now of some folks
- 9:35Speaker 2: out gathering at a jubilee. I want that, And it
- 9:38Speaker 2: is just what I described. That's how the picture looks.
- 9:41Speaker 3: That looks like one of those photos of like a
- 9:43Speaker 3: crawlfish boil.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yes, we have all this on the table.
- 9:47Speaker 3: That's a lot.
- 9:50Speaker 2: And I think they have multiple jubilees a year, and
- 9:53Speaker 2: I believe the first one just happened recently.
- 9:55Speaker 8: Every year somewhere around I want to go down.
- 9:58Speaker 2: That's good stuff. Cool. Question to the topic is wildlife.
- 10:02Speaker 2: The front The four front chompers on a beaver are
- 10:07Speaker 2: this type of seven letter tooth. The four front chompers
- 10:14Speaker 2: on a beaver are this type of seven letter tooth.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Randall has his mojo back after getting question one wrong.
- 10:22Speaker 2: He seems to have question two right.
- 10:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I just figured. Oh, second on my list of jubilees.
- 10:31Speaker 2: M hm again, second biggest in the whole world is
- 10:35Speaker 2: the Mobile Bay.
- 10:36Speaker 11: You believe, so, I think we should aim to go
- 10:38Speaker 11: to the Tokyo Bay.
- 10:38Speaker 3: You believe.
- 10:39Speaker 2: My understanding is that one is magnitudes larger.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I love to hear that.
- 10:44Speaker 5: I didn't know what a jubilee was two minutes ago,
- 10:47Speaker 5: and now I'm planning my year around it.
- 10:50Speaker 2: The four front chompers on a beaver are this type
- 10:54Speaker 2: of seven letter tooth. Cory, you got this one right.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Earthquake pun I wasn't going for one magnitudes.
- 11:03Speaker 8: I almost said something to you, nadright, you joke about earthquakes?
- 11:09Speaker 2: It is everybody ready. The four front choppers on a
- 11:11Speaker 2: beaver are this type of seven letter tooth spelling doesn't count.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says cutters omar
- 11:20Speaker 2: without an answer, Randall incisor Corey incisor Nate incisor marge
- 11:26Speaker 2: without an answer. The correct answer is incisor. Incisors are
- 11:31Speaker 2: only found in mammals. Most mammals have them, with some
- 11:35Speaker 2: exclusions being manatees, anteaters, and bay leen whales. The biggest
- 11:40Speaker 2: incisors in the world belong to elephants, which grow them
- 11:43Speaker 2: in the form of tusks. Question three. The topic is cooking.
- 11:48Speaker 2: This next great question is via mark lot. The seven
- 11:52Speaker 2: supposed types of snapping turtle meat are pork, shrimp, chicken, goat, beef, veal,
- 12:01Speaker 2: and blank. What really digging in the bottom of the
- 12:06Speaker 2: bag here?
- 12:07Speaker 11: Are you gonna write any questions yourself?
- 12:10Speaker 2: There are seven supposed types of snapping turtle meat. I
- 12:14Speaker 2: gave you six of them. You need to tell me
- 12:16Speaker 2: what the seventh is. The seven supposed types of snapping
- 12:20Speaker 2: turtle meat are pork, shrimp, chicken, goat, beef, veal, and blank.
- 12:28Speaker 2: What was the shelby in deck four?
- 12:31Speaker 3: I don't know if I understand this question.
- 12:35Speaker 2: The right. A seventh type of protein is said to
- 12:40Speaker 2: be on a snapping turtle. I've given you six of them.
- 12:43Speaker 2: They say, Well, this part is where you get the
- 12:45Speaker 2: pork from, and this one's a shrimp, and this piece
- 12:47Speaker 2: is the chicken. There's a seventh type of protein that
- 12:52Speaker 2: you will supposedly find on a snapping turtle pork, shrimp, chicken, goat, beef, veal,
- 13:01Speaker 2: and blank. Interesting, I've had snapping turtle, I've butchered them,
- 13:11Speaker 2: I've cooked them. You have to really use your imagination
- 13:14Speaker 2: to find all seven types on a snap Yeah. I
- 13:18Speaker 2: think for the most part, he'd be like, this is
- 13:21Speaker 2: like kind of a trick question, pork shrimp adjacent. It
- 13:25Speaker 2: is not not a trick question. It's not a trick question.
- 13:29Speaker 2: The seven type of meat isn't like seagull or something
- 13:32Speaker 2: like that.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Oh oh dang, changed my answer.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's everybody ready.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna change.
- 13:47Speaker 2: The seven supposed types of snapping turtle meat or pork, shrimp, chicken, goat, beef, veal,
- 13:56Speaker 2: and blank. It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Seth says fish omar fish, Randall, fish, tory fish, Nate, gator,
- 14:10Speaker 2: marge Vega, I almost put gator just erase. The correct
- 14:15Speaker 2: answer is fish. Of our six players got that one right.
- 14:22Speaker 2: The yield off of a snapper is about thirty five percent,
- 14:26Speaker 2: so a twenty pound turtle would produce seven pounds of
- 14:29Speaker 2: boneless meat. Because the cleaning process is rigorous and snappers
- 14:33Speaker 2: have long life spans, it's recommended you don't keep ones
- 14:36Speaker 2: smaller than ten pounds. Kooby Brown describes it as quote
- 14:40Speaker 2: along the lines of pork with a little bit of
- 14:42Speaker 2: seafood edge. You can read his article on the medeater
- 14:45Speaker 2: dot com called how to catch, clean and Eat Snapping Turtle.
- 14:49Speaker 10: Seth and I were just talking about our pet snappers.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Hmm, never ate them though, good thing.
- 14:54Speaker 8: Steve isn't here. He'd go on about Ali used to
- 14:59Speaker 8: cat and sell.
- 15:02Speaker 10: This episode.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Question for the topic is biology. A polydactyl animal has
- 15:11Speaker 2: extra blank. A polydactyl animal as extra blank. Randall, I
- 15:20Speaker 2: don't know what that is, already has his answer, Doctor Randall.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Nate is joining him. Nate, do you have this one right?
- 15:28Speaker 10: No?
- 15:29Speaker 2: No, A poly don't give me hints has extra blank?
- 15:40Speaker 10: Mhm.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Is anybody eating snapping turtle in here?
- 15:43Speaker 3: No?
- 15:44Speaker 5: They had some big ones though up at oh, like
- 15:48Speaker 5: the woods, like the woods grow.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I think you saw them hanging out and sh swimming
- 15:54Speaker 2: under the docks. Man, I love a snapping turtle.
- 15:56Speaker 11: One swam out behind the boats and it was mm hmm.
- 16:00Speaker 1: It was a giant.
- 16:00Speaker 2: One of my favorite animals in the world. If I
- 16:04Speaker 2: got to have a sports team where I got to
- 16:06Speaker 2: like create the mascot and it was in the appropriate place,
- 16:08Speaker 2: they'd be the snappers for sure, be unique. No one
- 16:12Speaker 2: else is doing a snapping turtle mascot. A polydactyl animal
- 16:16Speaker 2: has extra blank. Cory, you got this one right? No, Phil,
- 16:23Speaker 2: would you get this one right?
- 16:25Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I think you would if I had it right.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I don't know if it's a hint too much credit
- 16:34Speaker 2: handle it's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Seth says extra wings, Omar eyes, Randall Toes, Corey, Genitalia,
- 16:47Speaker 2: Nate arms, Marge fingers. The correct answer is digits or
- 16:54Speaker 2: fingers are toes. So you said fingers toes. We're not
- 16:58Speaker 2: going to accept Genitalia on this one. So Randall and
- 17:02Speaker 2: March got that one right. The most common polydactyl animals
- 17:07Speaker 2: are domestic cats and dogs and laboratory mice. It also
- 17:11Speaker 2: happens in farm animals such as pigs, sheep, horses, and cattle,
- 17:15Speaker 2: and even rarer is when it happens in wild animals
- 17:18Speaker 2: such as primates, guinea pigs, kangaroos, foxes, camels, and alligators.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Polydactyl is a genetic mutation that is amplified by inbreeding.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Here there's a bunch.
- 17:28Speaker 5: Of cats and key West.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Cats and that's what I thought Phil might.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Note from all polydactyl that is a polydactyl critter. Question
- 17:43Speaker 2: five The topic is conservation. This next great question is
- 17:46Speaker 2: via Mark Hooper, how much does a duck stamp cost
- 17:50Speaker 2: in twenty twenty six? Coming up on duck stamp purchasing season,
- 17:58Speaker 2: how much does it cost in twenty twenty six? This
- 18:04Speaker 2: is question five. We'll get a scoreboard update from Fill
- 18:07Speaker 2: the engineer after this, and then we have our mountain
- 18:09Speaker 2: dew questions of the week. Exciting how much does a
- 18:14Speaker 2: duck stamp cost in twenty twenty six? Has anybody purchased theirs?
- 18:17Speaker 3: Yet?
- 18:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 18:18Speaker 5: Now nope, I couldn't tell you how muchuld cost in
- 18:23Speaker 5: twenty twenty five either, Like.
- 18:25Speaker 2: A postage stamp not giving you any hints, Marge, how
- 18:31Speaker 2: much does a duck stamp costs in twenty Before you
- 18:35Speaker 2: got in the room, Marge, we were singing your praises
- 18:37Speaker 2: for being the current champion. JABBRONI thank you not doing
- 18:42Speaker 2: so good?
- 18:42Speaker 8: Give given your your office made up there you should
- 18:45Speaker 8: I feel like you should know this.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah, since Max.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Barta's raising a baby right now, you know.
- 18:52Speaker 5: Unfortunately it doesn't come up in common com.
- 18:58Speaker 2: In question five, how much does a duck stamp cost
- 19:00Speaker 2: in twenty twenty six? Is everybody ready? Go ahead and
- 19:04Speaker 2: reveal your answers. Seth twenty five dollars, Omar two dollars
- 19:09Speaker 2: and sixty cents Randall twenty five, Corey twenty five, Nate fifteen,
- 19:14Speaker 2: March a Buck twenty five. The correct answer is twenty five.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Erase there, yeah, and the of our players.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Got that one right. The last time the duck stamp
- 19:27Speaker 2: price changed was in twenty fourteen under President Obama. That year,
- 19:32Speaker 2: the price jumped from fifteen dollars to twenty five dollars,
- 19:35Speaker 2: raising an additional sixteen million dollars for wildlife habitat. Prior
- 19:40Speaker 2: to that, the price hadn't changed in twenty three years,
- 19:43Speaker 2: the longest in duck stamp history. So they changed the
- 19:47Speaker 2: price about once a decade for a long time, and
- 19:50Speaker 2: now we're twelve years since the last price change. We
- 19:53Speaker 2: are due again for that increase.
- 19:54Speaker 5: With inflation that's doing less, you know, Phil Scoreboard, ad
- 20:01Speaker 5: bring everybody down.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's a stamp, Marge that ninety eight percent
- 20:07Speaker 2: of the funds generated from the duck stamp is earmarked.
- 20:11Speaker 11: For habitat Tell her about ding Darling, go for Randall.

- 23:40Speaker 2: member of this gun brand built the San Jose Mansion
- 23:45Speaker 2: with a bizarre layout that features staircases leading to ceilings
- 23:49Speaker 2: and doors that opened to blank walls. A family member
- 23:56Speaker 2: of this gun brand, I built the San Jose man
- 24:00Speaker 2: with a bizarre layout that features staircases leading to ceilings
- 24:05Speaker 2: and doors that open to blank walls. Marge, and have
- 24:09Speaker 2: you been?
- 24:11Speaker 8: I want to go there?
- 24:12Speaker 2: Sydney's there, San Jose, California. That's right, Omar? Do you
- 24:16Speaker 2: have this one right?
- 24:16Speaker 3: Omar?
- 24:17Speaker 4: No. Randall was too fast hit in his answer.
- 24:24Speaker 2: His answer is not on the cans either.
- 24:27Speaker 10: Come on, do you know this Nope, I've heard it
- 24:31Speaker 10: and I can't place it.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Filled the engineer. Would you get this one right?
- 24:35Speaker 3: I would?
- 24:36Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 24:36Speaker 8: Ok, mostly just because it's a weird house. Oh not
- 24:40Speaker 8: because I know anything about the gun brand.
- 24:42Speaker 1: And you're into the paranormal.
- 24:44Speaker 3: M Yeah, I mightn't do it.
- 24:46Speaker 8: You mean, I'm incredibly skeptical, but it tickles me.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Then Yes, A family member of this gun brand built
- 24:54Speaker 2: the San Jose Mansion with a bizarre layout that features
- 24:57Speaker 2: staircases leading to ceilings and doors that open to blank walls.
- 25:01Speaker 2: And we've got some pictures to look at of the mansion.
- 25:06Speaker 2: After I read.
- 25:09Speaker 4: I was allegedly born in Santo California?
- 25:14Speaker 1: Is that what your birth says?
- 25:16Speaker 4: That's what it actually says.
- 25:17Speaker 9: Oh goody, I don't want to believe it.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Okay, where do you think you were born?
- 25:24Speaker 4: Don't Washington be cool?
- 25:26Speaker 2: Okay, that's feel like in your hot Yeah, yeah, it's
- 25:30Speaker 2: everybody ready.
- 25:32Speaker 10: I'm changing it.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth, says Remington, Omar Winchester,
- 25:41Speaker 2: Randall Winchester, Corey Browning, Nate Smith, and Wesson, Marge Winchester.
- 25:49Speaker 2: The correct answer is Winchester. The Winchester Mystery House was
- 25:54Speaker 2: built by Sarah Winchester, the widow of William Winchester, who
- 25:59Speaker 2: served as president of the company. Sarah spent the final
- 26:03Speaker 2: thirty eight years of her life building the mansion, with
- 26:05Speaker 2: construction stopping in nineteen twenty two. The Gothic style building
- 26:09Speaker 2: has twenty four thousand square feet, ten thousand windows, two
- 26:13Speaker 2: thousand doors, one hundred and sixty rooms, and forty seven stairways.
- 26:18Speaker 2: The building is filled with architectural curiosities like doors that
- 26:22Speaker 2: open to multi story drops or windows on the floor.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Sarah also had an obsession with the number thirteen, which
- 26:29Speaker 2: is featured throughout the house. According to author Susie Smith,
- 26:33Speaker 2: Sarah thought she was being haunted by the ghosts of
- 26:36Speaker 2: people killed by Winchester guns, and a medium told Sarah
- 26:40Speaker 2: that she needed to build a house for the spirits.
- 26:43Speaker 2: So here we are looking at some of the photos
- 26:45Speaker 2: and the weirdness that exists in this mansion. There's the
- 26:49Speaker 2: door to nowhere. You walk out that and you'll fall
- 26:52Speaker 2: right off the roof of the building.
- 26:53Speaker 11: Mmm.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Some stairways that appear to just be built on top
- 26:57Speaker 2: of each other.
- 26:58Speaker 4: It looks like a safety hazard.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Yes, I don't know if oshit would be cool?
- 27:03Speaker 5: Is that Susie Smith? Is that the book that came
- 27:05Speaker 5: out like ten years ago?
- 27:07Speaker 2: I don't know when that book was written, but yes,
- 27:09Speaker 2: Susie Smith is the title of it. I don't don't
- 27:11Speaker 2: have that in front of me here and Randall, in
- 27:13Speaker 2: his answer, had Sarah Winchester, he knew the widow Winchester
- 27:17Speaker 2: who built that mansion.
- 27:19Speaker 5: There's a book about Winchester and sort of the mid
- 27:25Speaker 5: century growth of the arms business, and it began with
- 27:28Speaker 5: a long opening chapter about Sarah Winchester in the house.
- 27:33Speaker 2: I think Susie was maybe just covering the house, and
- 27:36Speaker 2: so I'm guessing that's not the same book. Question seven,
- 27:39Speaker 2: the topic is woodsmanship. This seven letter North American desert
- 27:44Speaker 2: is considered the wettest desert in the world. This seven
- 27:52Speaker 2: letter North American desert is considered the wettest desert in
- 27:57Speaker 2: the world. Oh, Randall, do you have this one right?
- 28:02Speaker 11: I have a seven letter desert spencer.
- 28:06Speaker 2: He's keeping the perfect game for question two through seven,
- 28:10Speaker 2: going then, yeah, that first.
- 28:12Speaker 5: One really the Jubilee, which is tough because I thought
- 28:16Speaker 5: that was a fun question.
- 28:19Speaker 2: We do need to go experience it. The problem is,
- 28:21Speaker 2: I don't think you'd know when it's gonna happen until
- 28:23Speaker 2: it just like happens, So we couldn't really like we should.
- 28:27Speaker 2: We'd have to be on standby. We'd have to have
- 28:29Speaker 2: a PJ line.
- 28:30Speaker 5: I was literally thinking PJ right now. I barely fly
- 28:34Speaker 5: commercial anymore.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Again.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Question seven, the topic is woodsmanship. This seven letter North
- 28:41Speaker 2: American desert is considered the wettest desert in the world.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Or we could just go live in Alabama.
- 28:49Speaker 8: For when we were talking about a polydactyl animal with
- 28:54Speaker 8: extra digits. My youngest son has a bifed uvula. I
- 28:58Speaker 8: don't know if you know what it's basically you feel,
- 29:03Speaker 8: but there's too little so like to be crass. It
- 29:05Speaker 8: just looks like a scrotum is hanging in the back
- 29:08Speaker 8: and got like two little balls back.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Is that just an aesthetics thing or does it like
- 29:12Speaker 2: have some impact on his really.
- 29:14Speaker 8: Just like a weird a weird abnormality.
- 29:16Speaker 5: That when I see him next, I'm gonna lip him
- 29:18Speaker 5: like a bass and check that thing out.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Don't grab the wrong child, see if I'm about stranger danger.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Seven letter North American Desert is the wettest desert in
- 29:32Speaker 2: the world. Omar, you got this one right.
- 29:35Speaker 4: I don't think so, but I'm gonna give a shot.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Cory, you got this one right.
- 29:38Speaker 11: I got six letters, but I hope I spelled it wrong.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Okay, that's the attitude. It's everybody ready, good chance, go
- 29:47Speaker 2: ahead and reveal your answers. Set without an answer, Omar Sonoran, Randall, Sonoran,

- 30:14Speaker 2: The desert is unique and then it has two wet
- 30:16Speaker 2: seasons that run from December to March and July to September.
- 30:20Speaker 2: This is because it's at a crossroads where it gets
- 30:23Speaker 2: winter storms from the Pacific Ocean and summer monsoons from
- 30:27Speaker 2: the Gulf of California.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Randall and I have spent some time in that desert together.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Oh man, I can't wait to go back.
- 30:33Speaker 4: To doing what can you guys still taste of free holes?
- 30:35Speaker 2: Yes, oh oh yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 13: And we're looking for the coups that will that be
- 30:40Speaker 13: in the Sonoran. Yeah yeah, Ron to question eight. The
- 30:45Speaker 13: topic in.
- 30:45Speaker 2: The cons.
- 30:47Speaker 10: As Central American.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Julia Roberts stars in this two thousand legal drama about
- 30:54Speaker 2: a twice divorced single mom who uncovers that a utility
- 30:58Speaker 2: company is poisoning the town owns water supply. Randall and

- 31:38Speaker 11: I just listen to podcasting, Nate.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Do you have this one right?
- 31:43Speaker 4: No?
- 31:43Speaker 10: I just listened to a podcast as lad. I can't
- 31:45Speaker 10: remember the name.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Two movie questions.
- 31:48Speaker 2: He's the other one?
- 31:49Speaker 3: Good thing?

- 31:59Speaker 2: For?
- 32:04Speaker 4: I'm sure see, I don't really watch movies that much.
- 32:07Speaker 5: I like this Friday afternoon thing because I think I
- 32:10Speaker 5: don't know if Brodie's conflict is ongoing.
- 32:13Speaker 11: But uh, I'd like to keep doing this. Yeah you
- 32:16Speaker 11: would at this time.
- 32:17Speaker 2: I like this because we're gonna go drink some bush
- 32:19Speaker 2: lights after this. Oh yeah, Friday.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Randall got a twinkle in his eye when you heard that.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Julia Roberts stars in this two thousand legal drama about
- 32:30Speaker 2: a twice divorced single mom who uncovers that a utility

- 32:50Speaker 2: The correct answer is Aaron Brockovic.
- 32:54Speaker 10: She was just on Sean Ryan.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Aaron Brockovich is a real person and her legal case
- 32:59Speaker 2: is a real story. In nineteen ninety three, she discovered
- 33:02Speaker 2: that Pacific Gas and Electric Company was polluting the groundwater
- 33:07Speaker 2: around Hinckley, California. Brokovic had the realization after locals were
- 33:12Speaker 2: experiencing a high rate of cancer, tumors, respiratory issues, and miscarriages.
- 33:17Speaker 2: The lawsuit ended with a three hundred and thirty three
- 33:20Speaker 2: million dollars settlement, the largest at that time in US history.
- 33:25Speaker 2: The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing a
- 33:28Speaker 2: quarter billion dollars and getting five Oscar nominations. Phil what
- 33:33Speaker 2: do we think of Aaron Brockovich?
- 33:35Speaker 8: You know, I don't have a lot to say about
- 33:36Speaker 8: Aaron Brockwitch. To be honest, but I just wanted to
- 33:38Speaker 8: say that Steven Soderberg, who directed this movie, is I think,
- 33:41Speaker 8: just like a criminally underrated director. These days, he's super prolific.
- 33:44Speaker 8: He's put out a movie almost every year for the
- 33:46Speaker 8: last ten years, and they're all pretty good. But he
- 33:48Speaker 8: put this movie came out the same year as Traffic,
- 33:50Speaker 8: which is another one of his best movies. MM and
- 33:52Speaker 8: the guy just goes on here like then, like Cincinnati movie.

- 34:11Speaker 1: I haven't seen it, you guys, Robert.
- 34:16Speaker 6: I mean, she's still she's still like a timeless an activist.
- 34:20Speaker 5: She's still like it wasn't like a one.
- 34:25Speaker 10: Yes, she's doing data centers right now.
- 34:27Speaker 5: Yeah, that's I've seen her in the headlines lately for
- 34:30Speaker 5: working on data center issues. But I also just remember
- 34:32Speaker 5: when this came out, thinking like interesting to have a
- 34:37Speaker 5: movie named after someone I've never heard of, You know,
- 34:40Speaker 5: it's one thing to name your movie Jeremiah Johnson or
- 34:45Speaker 5: j Edgar Hoover or something, but Aaron Brockovich. I just
- 34:49Speaker 5: thought it's like a name that you.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Never heard of a real person. And then I feel like.
- 34:53Speaker 1: It's like, what's eating Gilbert Grape?
- 34:54Speaker 2: I don't even know who Gilbert Grape is. It almost
- 34:57Speaker 2: became like a cliche after this to like have a
- 34:59Speaker 2: TV shows or movies to be, you know, have like
- 35:02Speaker 2: the divorced single mom who's like, you know, doing it all. Yeah,
- 35:07Speaker 2: And I feel like this was maybe like the start
- 35:09Speaker 2: of that. I don't know era all right, Phil, we
- 35:13Speaker 2: have two questions left to give us a scoreboard update.
- 35:18Speaker 8: Randall's locked it up.
- 35:19Speaker 3: My goodness.
- 35:20Speaker 8: He's got seven points in the lead, and the two
- 35:23Speaker 8: players that are closest to him are Omar and Corey
- 35:26Speaker 8: with four points.
- 35:28Speaker 10: Wowroo for you guys.
- 35:29Speaker 2: See if you can lap them. Question nine the topic
- 35:32Speaker 2: is gear. This next great question is via Sean Doherty.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Vibram calls themselves quote the world leader in the development
- 35:41Speaker 2: and manufacturing of high performance rubber blank for outdoor and
- 35:46Speaker 2: leisure activities. Confident Room, Omar, Nate Randall already have their
- 35:54Speaker 2: whiteboards down. Vibram calls themselves the world leader in the

- 36:04Speaker 2: outdoor and leisure activities.
- 36:06Speaker 10: A six seventy one compliant.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Okay, what does that mean?
- 36:11Speaker 10: There'll be three dudes who know what I'm talking about.
- 36:15Speaker 1: That's code.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Okay, that's someday we'll dig up the body of Meat
- 36:22Speaker 2: Eater Movie Club and then we'll have to do Aaron Bronkovic.
- 36:25Speaker 2: If you've never seen it before, Randall.
- 36:28Speaker 10: Yeah, that's a great idea.
- 36:30Speaker 8: That movie bring Aaron Eckhart Rember Local must be before.
- 36:34Speaker 11: Thank you for smoking it was.
- 36:37Speaker 1: That's a great flick. It's also about litigation.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Vibrum calls themselves the world leader in the development and
- 36:46Speaker 2: manufacturing of high performance rubber blank for outdoor and leisure activities.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers? Seth
- 36:56Speaker 2: says Souls, Omar Souls, Randall Soles, Cory Boot, Slash Souls.
- 37:03Speaker 2: I know exactly what you were looking, Nate Souls, Marge Souls,

- 37:11Speaker 2: answer is souls. Vibrum. Souls are used by Rocky Red Wings,

- 37:21Speaker 2: Italy in nineteen thirty seven by a man who lost
- 37:25Speaker 2: six friends to a mountaineering accident that was partly blamed
- 37:28Speaker 2: on inadequate footwear. All right, here's a correct answer review
- 37:33Speaker 2: so far. One was Alabama. Two incisor three fish is

- 37:56Speaker 8: locked up the last time. If he biffed the last
- 37:58Speaker 8: three questions, then Omar Seth or Corey could have cut up.
- 38:03Speaker 8: But now he has locked it up. So got Randall
- 38:05Speaker 8: in first place with eight points.
- 38:07Speaker 2: He had it locked up. There were only two questions left.
- 38:11Speaker 8: I thought there are three questions left, eight questions. It
- 38:15Speaker 8: doesn't matter, rand We have one question.
