- 8:16the screen. Make sure you hit the obd of and you know if it's
- 8:20popping, if it's fire, you know, it'll be put into youth,
- 8:24you know, so get with it definitely. And I'm like, really,
- 8:31what else do you have going on? Aren't you writing? Aren't you writing?
- 8:37Writing? Um? A miracle Walking is almost done? Which is the
- 8:41story any new project? Yeah a walking which is um the story about my
- 8:48oldest son when he was fifty almost died. Um. He had a severe
- 8:52asthm attack that put him in yes for nine days, but God is good
- 8:58because he is nine nine days he was in a carmine and here his voice.
- 9:03He didn't know if he was going to be brain dead or you know,
- 9:07had some type of defects from lack of oxygen. Yes, it's thirty
- 9:13three years old. He's gonna be thirty four October October, and the book
- 9:20will be dropping in October, called a Miracle Walking, and um it,
- 9:26it's gonna tell his story and how he's a miracle walking because he is.
- 9:31He's you know, he had to learn how to walk and use his hands
- 9:35and whims and everything all over a game from a simple asthma attack. So
- 9:41it's you know that, and it happened right around mother. It hopped on
- 9:46Mother's Day. Oh there's nothing simple about asthma. It's nothing, you know,
- 9:52people think, you know, ay, no, it'll baby out of
- 9:56here. But he's here. Yeah, and as my it is real as
- 10:01much as real it is not no bs. I mean, people have truly
- 10:05lost their lives because their body. So asthma is real. Yes, God
- 10:13is very awesome. Um um she said um Tammela said, God is awesome
- 10:18And I said that I wur guess it's here. Yes, she is ya,
- 10:24Alexis, Alexis Marie all right finally, Oh my gosh, she was
- 10:31so patient with us. Yes, how are you? This is lady team,
- 10:39Hi Alexai, Hi, how are you? How beautiful? I am
- 10:43fabulous that and and so excited to see you. I'm good. I was
- 10:52the sick one. I'm I'm much better, thank you, Um, much
- 10:58much much, much much better. But I'm so glad that you are here.
- 11:03So what's going on? How are you doing? What's going on?
- 11:07I'm good, I'm chilling. I had took a nap before getting on here
- 11:09because I had work this morning, so I ended up taking a nap and
- 11:13then just now just got the shower. I was about to make me some
- 11:16asparagus before I got on the Live where I'm girl up to watch. So
- 11:26I wanted to know how are you? Yes, um, how would you
- 11:31see it? Like? How what I mean? You had a job recently?
- 11:35Um, you went to do some modeling in Atlanta? No, so
- 11:39I actually plan on moving to Atlanta. I actually went to Atlanta because I
- 11:43want to go see some apartments, and I had a couple of job interviews
- 11:46because I'm trying to leave New York. So are you going to pursue your
- 11:52modeling career more in going to Atlanta? So Honestly, I like Atlanta has
- 12:01everything that I want to do out there, Like I really feel like I
- 12:03belong out there. When I was out there, It's just like everybody I
- 12:07came in contact with, most of them was models. But I'm also like
- 12:11I believe modeling is like a stepping stone to bring me to where I'm heading,
- 12:16which is me like wanting to become a motivation new speaker and start my
- 12:20own podcasts and stuff like that. Because before I started modeling, I kind
- 12:24of like lacked a lot of confidence. But twenty twenty one, going into
- 12:28twenty twenty two, I like stayed in the house by myself, and I
- 12:31basically like wrote with my plan though, and I listened to tud Jake's sermon,
- 12:35and I wrote myself for a letter and told myself everything that I was
- 12:39gonna do going into twenty twenty two. So honestly, I just told myself,
- 12:43you know, like coming to year twenty twenty two, everything that I
- 12:46was afraid to do, I'm just going for it. So June four for
- 12:50twenty twenty two, that's what made me stop modeling because it's something I've always
- 12:52wanted to do as a kid, Like and I knew because like when I
- 12:56was younger, I used to walk around to my mother and hills and act
- 12:58like I was running that walking down the runway. So that right there,
- 13:03it was like compromaing. You know, So, so what did you how
- 13:09did you feel when you get your first modeling job? Like what did you
- 13:13how did you feel? Did you was you nervous? And who actually gave
- 13:16you your first break to model? Honestly, so, I wasn't looking for
- 13:22the opportunities because I knew I wanted to model, So I was just looking
- 13:24into like different agencies and opportunities. Like I would go on even bray in
- 13:28search up like you know, casting calls modeling opportunities. I was also using
- 13:33my Instagram platform to search up like different agencies and stuff. And I was
- 13:39kind of skeptical because when I first started modeling, or before I even started
- 13:41modeling, I applied to an agency in Manhattan and they scan me. So
- 13:48that right there, it was just like it made me skeptical to want to
- 13:50apply to other agencies because I'm like being that I don't model, just yeah,
- 13:54I won't know what agencies scan people and what the you know what you
- 13:58know, she's doesn't so I just said, you know, trying error.
- 14:01Samma just had to find out as I go along long so be sure I
- 14:05end up following. So um they end up First of all, so the
- 14:13program that I went to, Scott Modeling, they know about the company that
- 14:16scave me. So basically what they did was they're really good for like people
- 14:20that want to take just professional photos and stuff like that, but they're not
- 14:24like an agency that would help you further your modeling career. And they would
- 14:28basically have people take pictures. You had to put down the down deposit and
- 14:31then they would have people take pictures and they would basically trying to force you
- 14:35to pay for all the pictures right then and mirror and they basically told you
- 14:39if you didn't pay up front, they was wiping all the pictures that they
- 14:41had on a disc or oh wow yeah yeah, okay yeah. So I
- 14:48thought it is real, that hustle is real. It is. It definitely
- 14:54is because I told myself, you know, I'm not gonna lie to that
- 14:56situation to make me stop certain. So I end up finding this program called
- 15:00Skyler Modeling, and they was like I had to pay for them, and
- 15:05they was pretty expensive, but it was definitely worth it. I was really
- 15:07skeptical, but my faith was there because I did my research with this agency
- 15:11and made sure, like okay, like before you know, putting down any
- 15:15money and anything, make sure you do your research and this legit. So
- 15:18I did it. And then my first down payment I had to put down
- 15:20three hundred dollars. So once I had did that, I'm just like okay,
- 15:24Like I was nervous kind of, but then you know they were gonna
- 15:28not They was viral actually on my Instagram, and you know, I was
- 15:33going under other people pictures and seeing like them interact with the program. So
- 15:37I'm like, okay, this must be legit because they posted on their story
- 15:39every day like people are actually engaging. So you know, my confidence started
- 15:43really boosting all you know, in regards to me a piet So coming June
- 15:48fourth, that's when I had my first opportunity and the program offered a two
- 15:54day in person training and a five week online course. So for the two
- 15:56day in person, I drove down to New York and then my first day
- 16:00was it told me how to pose, and it told me how to walk,
- 16:03Like there's four different modeling um walks that you can do so that was
- 16:07kind of like it was like I was nervous but excited at the same time,
- 16:11and I came to learn that like you could feel nervous and be excited
- 16:15at the same time and experience the same symptoms like butterflies in and stuthing and
- 16:18stuff like that. But it's just yeah, you gotta tell yourself, like
- 16:21I'm excited, I'm excited. I'm excited, you know. So I was
- 16:25nervous, but we're excited because it's like I knew I was taking myself out
- 16:29my comfort zone, honestly, and it just helped me boost my confidence for
- 16:33real. So I just started and once I was featured in the Bizarre magazine,
- 16:37that kind of like opened up every aspect like literally, and how did
- 16:44you feel when you saw yourself in Bizarre, Like that's a great that's a
- 16:47good magazine, Like that's Bizarre, Like yeah, I was really excited honestly,
- 16:53because it's like I was so eager, Like I was really eager because
- 16:56it's just like it was like a dream come true, you know what I'm
- 17:00saying, Like I'm like, wow, just twenty one and depression, Like
- 17:04I went through a major break over my ex girlfriend and I was depressed for
- 17:08a while, you know, and I just basically told myself, like twenty
- 17:12twenty two, I'm doing everything that I want to do, and I'm focusing
- 17:15on myself. So I just basically started, you know, pouring into myself.
- 17:18And I had lost a lot of friends, you know, I isolating
- 17:22myself from a lot of people because I realized certain individuals that I was,
- 17:26you know, surrounding myself around, they were like triggering me, like the
- 17:30old mean that I was trying to pull away from. So I really had
- 17:33to isolate myself. And then after that the my mentor just was just rising
- 17:41and rising and rising. So I'm just like, you know, it's so
- 17:42crazy, how when you separate yourself from a lot of people, when you
- 17:47really spend so much time with yourself, how much you learned about yourself,
- 17:48how strong you actually recognize that you really are, like you know, and
- 17:52how capable you really of doing anything that you really set your mind too for
- 17:56real. And my biggest advice and biggest you know too, that I took
- 18:00from myself, it's to have faith and believe in itself. Because as long
- 18:03as you got yourself to believe in it, don't really matter who believing,
- 18:07who don't. That's right, all right, it's gotta be your own number
- 18:14one fan. That's right. You are so inspiring the fact that you recognize
- 18:21within your depression that you had to climb out of that and landed the cover.
- 18:26So first off, you know what I want to hear one, how
- 18:29you landed the cover and how did you react the moment you heard that you
- 18:33got the cover. So honestly, so, my instructor, like she's actually
- 18:40still a current active model in the industry. So day two when they end
- 18:44up having like the professional photographers, the makeup artists, the stylists and stuff,
- 18:48they was actual professionals. That's in the industry still. So my instructor,
- 18:53she's well connected with a lot of individuals because her you know herself,
- 18:57like she done work with Blanciago, Calvin Klein, and Tom Ford, so
- 19:03she's well connected with a lot of people. So they basically, you know,
- 19:07that's another thing we had paid for too, because they tell you,
- 19:10you know, you get that opportunity to be featured in the Bizarre magazine.
- 19:14So it was like once I paid for that, I was like that was
- 19:15food and so it was like that right there, I actually see me though
- 19:21in an article to be able to type, you know, in a in
- 19:23a web bard the actual website didn't see my face what, like it was
- 19:30something that it was feeling. That's so yeah, yeah, and just some
- 19:38fun back and you look just like your daddy, So I thought, that's
- 19:45yeah, yeah, y'all twins, Yes, that's really my twin. Um,
- 19:51so, how did your dad feel when you told him you was you
- 19:52know, when you was on bizarre Like how did he feel about you modeling
- 19:56anyway? Because you know that industry it can be sketchy and it keeps me
- 20:02a passitive too, So how did your dad feel about that? Like how
- 20:04did he what kind of advice to give you? What did you tell you
- 20:07to do? I mean, was he nervous about you getting into the modeling
- 20:11industry or you know? So honestly, my dad, like my dad be
- 20:17pushing me like I'm not. Sometimes I'll be happy to the time, like
- 20:19you gotta relax because like you be on my heels like you know, and
- 20:23it's like what my dad is always supporting me. However, when it comes
- 20:29down to something he don't agree with, like he'll let me know, like
- 20:32I don't agree with it, I might still be here to support you,
- 20:33but I don't agree with it. But when it came out to model,
- 20:36and this is something that I've always told my dad I wanted to do,
- 20:38so it was like my dad was so used to me just talking about stuff
- 20:41I wanted to do and I wasn't implement So the moment I started implement,
- 20:45it's like everything my dad ever told me before, it's like I'm implementing it
- 20:48now in life. And it's like, you know, he's proud of that.
- 20:52And I say all the time, like, you know, I'm so
- 20:53grateful because even though my dad be on my heels, is like it's worth
- 20:57it. And I know he would, you know, you know, to
- 21:00support me. He don't do it to me, no harm or anything.
- 21:03It's just he want to see me do good. You know. It was
- 21:07really excited about that. Absolutely, that's pervade. So it's so great to
- 21:15have your daddy proud of you. Yeah, yeah, you yes, And
- 21:21I mean it looks like you guys have an amazing relationship and we're gonna have
- 21:25you back on the Women of the War because your dad is um incarcerated,
- 21:30just as my husband and the Women of the War. We support that community
- 21:34and we let people know that it's a community that is forgotten. Right.
- 21:41You are a young woman and you love your father, and you know and
- 21:45you can tell people you know how it's felt to have your dad helped raise
- 21:49you behind the wall, like how you know what trying a relationship y'all have
- 21:53Because the pictures that I've gotten of you and we're gonna put up when we
- 21:56do the women of the war, they look amazing, Like you look happy,
- 22:00you look like you know you're not like you look happy, you know,
- 22:03visiting him at different things like that. If you don't believe that some
- 22:07of these individuals can't be UM productive parents behind the wall help and I agree.
- 22:18So I need you to like, I definitely I can't wait for our
- 22:22show next month for you to talk about that. Um Um Angie Um,
- 22:27who is the owner of the podcast The Crew. She said that they're looking
- 22:33for new models for upcoming shoots in Atlanta. Oh, this says, I'm
- 22:37gonna give you the website before you leave. Um that's which. Yeah,
- 22:45So she just um, I want to say I want to I'll send a
- 22:52shout out to author Black Diamond. Hello, thank you so much for tuning
- 22:56in Yeah, we appreciate you, appreciate you. I'm so Alexa. So
- 23:03well, after your model, what else you gonna be doing? I'm sorry
- 23:11what you're saying. I say, after modeling, what is your next UM
- 23:15project? What is your what is your next level that you're that you're looking
- 23:19to go to, Like when you go to Atlanta looking for part what else
- 23:23you want to do? Honestly, when I do move to Atlanta, um
- 23:27So, it's crazy because my modeling perspective has actually changed. It's actually doing
- 23:33full for this ship made it. Yeah, I've been modeling, but since
- 23:34then, it's like my perspective has changed because to be like a high fashion
- 23:41model. I'm not saying I don't have what it taste, but I feel
- 23:44like a lot of stuff that happens behind the scene, I don't want to
- 23:48be a part of, you know what I'm saying, because I've been doing
- 23:49like my research in regards to like big brands and stuff and have some of
- 23:52them sometimes like do stuff that's like illegal or unethical or you know, like
- 24:00working with the Luminaity and stuff like that. Like I don't want to me
- 24:04personally, I honestly I like fashion, like you know, I like street
- 24:10fashion. I like to be able to dress like myself and feel the way
- 24:14I want to feel. And I have to sacrifice my happiness to please somebody
- 24:18else or you know, just for money, like because money is not the
- 24:21needs to happiness. Yeah, and I just feel like ye with me doing
- 24:26my photoshoots and stuff like that and being you know, a brand ambassador or
- 24:30a model, like I really want to model for fashion Over. That's really
- 24:33my biggest goal for actually you know, modeling and being in the modeling industry
- 24:37and Fashion Ova I went in mind. But like the even though fashion Nova
- 24:41is like a big top you know brand, it's not like a designer brand.
- 24:45So I just told myself in a lot of times, I wear fashion
- 24:48Ova clothing. So me personal is like I want to model for brands like
- 24:52that, you know, or like pretty little things or you know, other
- 24:56like small businesses that self clothing stuff like that. So personally, when I
- 25:02do go to Atlanta, I want to like you know, meet other people
- 25:06and stuff like that, network with different brands and collaborate different people and attend
- 25:10different fashion shows like I actually have a Castle Calle coming up in August in
- 25:14New York City for the fashion show because fashion Week is in September, so
- 25:18I'm preparing myself for that also too. In Atlanta, I want to meet
- 25:23miss kit Rus, which is a woman. She's like a podcast owner,
- 25:29she owns multi businesses. She also is been in like women empowerment and she
- 25:33got a business called girl Mom and b Simona Mega Ashley also has a podcast
- 25:40called No for Sure Podcast, And my goal is to also be able to
- 25:44speak and meet meet them honestly because just for me listening to the stuff that
- 25:49they say and like the safe space they provide individuals, Like it's a podcast
- 25:53that I would want to go and speak on to be able to like share
- 25:56my story and encourage other women, men and stuff like that, because I'm
- 26:00truly big on that. I love to be able to encourage other people.
- 26:03So that's really more so what I'm going on landing for and culinary. So
- 26:08it's two big things that I really want to do. But I feel like
- 26:14modeling is gonna branch me off into like podcasting and motivations you speaking, and
- 26:18then later on down the line, my long term goal is to be able
- 26:22to get a food truck. Okay, all right, you are just okay,

- 27:47me personally, like I really it's funny because I started I live up state
- 27:52near urbaning boy, I really started my modeling career in New York City because
- 27:56I feel like that's one reason why I don't, you know, I want
- 28:00to move. Excuse me, move to Atlantis because like, I feel real
- 28:03limited upstate, you know, because a lot of the stuff that I do
- 28:07want to get into, there's not really much of it up here. So
- 28:11it's just like I told myself, you know, rather than allowing yourself to
- 28:15feel limited and just stay stagnant, use you know, network And that's something
- 28:18my dad always told me, like make sure you network, you know,
- 28:22travel, if you gotta go and show face, go show face. Like
- 28:26so honestly that's really what I started doing and stuff like that. I had
- 28:30my first fashion show I actually this year February eighteen, I believe in the
- 28:34Bronx at Big Plaza Mall. So and that was that was that was successful.
- 28:40Okay, okay, why you have a plan. I love that you

- 34:07her so much because she does amazing things too. Never have met her at
- 34:12all, never ever ever met her, but I always saw on the show,
- 34:19Yes, such powerful individuals in our circle, Like I am so happy
- 34:28to have met you, to hear your story, to know that you're following
- 34:34your dreams. And then and you're gonna end up you're gonna be cooking.
- 34:37Oh I'm gonna have to come to Atlanta just to hit that truck up.
- 34:43Yeah. Yeah, I love cooking, like I've been cooking to top with
- 34:45the eleventh for real. Really yeah, so too. I used to watch
- 34:50my mom cook all the time, like and you enjoyed that pass to mind
- 34:54because I used to literally watch every show on Food Network, like every show.
- 35:00I love it. I love the food that one too, I love.
- 35:07I love you know who else I love? Um? Um, what's
- 35:10his name? Gorda Ramsey? Yes, I love even though he was a
- 35:15little little psycho. I still like his show and also the one. Um,
- 35:21but his crazy is good. It's a good crazy. M hm.
- 35:24He ain'tnna lie, but it is passion everybody passionate about his food. No,
- 35:35and I like, you know what show I loved about his show?
- 35:37Um, the Amateur Cooks, The Amateur cook Okay, now he did the
- 35:43kids. The kids put me to shame. I said, what little fi?
- 35:46I mean she was making what kind of suck? What kind of stuff?
- 35:52What I was looking like? How you making this and baking the room?
- 35:58I said, okay, you know what I water right? Like?
- 36:04What is I mean? I could barely be one side. But they want
- 36:07to take on like a stepping stool, using lobs I mean and using them.
- 36:12Wow. Yeah, they got a lot of the shows like that.
- 36:20It's crazy, like a five purse dinner for my family. I've never seen
- 36:25this what I'm looking like, I've never seen this. I gotta go find
- 36:31it comes on like Fox. Oh my god, I mean the cutest one.
- 36:36I mean they could barely see over the counter. Okay, I gotta
- 36:39go check that out. I gotta see that, dul That's what I was
- 36:44wondering, Like, how are they cooking on the stove they got they got
- 36:46little um, little stepping stool for them. I mean, wow, they
- 36:54fileted fish and all of that. Crazy. Okay. I'm like, I'm
- 37:00like, you know what I feel. I feel like an idiot. I
- 37:05don't know how to filette that. Yes, I love that. That's me
- 37:10neither me neither. I love those shows, but I know how to open
- 37:15hand. So what is your next? What is your next? You're going
- 37:22into Atlanta, You're gonna do your modeling, You're looking to open your food
- 37:27truck. You look at to do your podcast. What else are you looking
- 37:30you're looking forward to? Um? Oh wait a minute, I want to
- 37:34say ask you to when you do go to Atlanta, and you must come
- 37:36back because the women of the war, we are getting a little bit more
- 37:39political. We're gonna be do an advocating for the people behind the wall.
- 37:44Um, We're gonna be going out to Albany signing petitions and it'll be great.
- 37:49We have a model forefront coming and help us and you know with the
- 37:53fight and the course. Okay, yes, hold, I'm sorry guys,
- 38:05everybody. And you're beginning to advocate Cayton for the people behind the wall,
- 38:09right, yes? Yes, who yeah, yes, her dad is behind
- 38:14the wall, her dad and yes, Alex Yeah, but she's an advocate
- 38:20for it, right, she fights for Are you an advocate Alexis? I
- 38:23mean I would have to like a lot of stuff, but when it comes
- 38:27down to like justice and stuff like that, yeah, like definitely, Okay,
- 38:32okay, well a lot of stuff too, Like, um, I
- 38:37know that they just came up with the clearing um it's called a clean Slate
- 38:42Act where after seven years and they've been out that they can petition and get
- 38:46their um record sealed. So I think, yeah, depending on what the
- 38:53I don't know what the ramifications of it, like what can be sealed and
- 38:58what can't be sealed, but the stuff that could be sealed. I know
- 39:02that they're also the four forty four forty point two three rule, which is
- 39:09when they got over sentenced and they're doing a resentencing because that's what my husband
- 39:14is up for right now. It's just like putting the Clemency packet together.
- 39:16They're putting the packet together to go in front of the DA, go in
- 39:21front of the judges, to get them resentenced so he could come home,
- 39:24because right now he's serving life. But once they resented him, he will
- 39:29be like um twenty five to life for the possibility of twenty five parole in
- 39:36twenty five years, which means he will be coming home. So we are
- 39:39starting also. Please remember because we're minting the two shows. But September the
- 39:45first to November the thirty, if that's ninety days of prayer, we will
- 39:50be praying five A. And for the people behind the wall, we are
- 39:54praying for them. We are starting our ok. We are praying for everyone
- 40:00that is behind the wall. We want God to move on their behalf and
- 40:04bring them home. Because mister Blank, you said that quickly, but I
- 40:08say to day, stay to dates again. September one, September one,
- 40:16twenty twenty three to November thirtieth, twenty twenty three, five am. We
- 40:22will be praying the war. The war will be praying. We will be
- 40:27praying together asking God to move on everybody that's behind the wall man, woman
- 40:32whoever it is, you know, to interceed and bring them home. Uh,
- 40:37this September makes a one whole year that we've been doing this prayer.
- 40:43And mister Blanks, Anthony Blanks, is the first person that we prayed was
- 40:45praying for and he was released, so he will be released for a year.
- 40:51And he turned seventy his birthday this year. He's still out amazing things
- 40:57like Yeah, mister Blanks is such dvocate and he goes for Albany and stuff
- 41:01and he does a lot of things with them, with the movement. With
- 41:06the other movement, that's you know, doing a lot of different things,
- 41:09signing petitions and different things of that nature. But the women of the War
- 41:14and the Brown Girl, we are both really big one that that's good.
- 41:21Absolutely what I what I'm what I'm excited about. And I don't want to
- 41:25cross makes, but I do want to mention. So there's certain parts of
- 41:29these new wars that you mentioned that I'm one hundred percent on board with.
- 41:32So you know, if you did sign something and you did your time,
- 41:38and then you do a background check and you don't get it because you did
- 41:44something ten years ago, you know, When does that time? When do
- 41:49I get a chance or an opportunity to live my new life? You know,
- 41:53I did my bed. Now I'm home. You did this background check
- 41:59and found out I have a couple of felonies, but I'm reformed. I'm
- 42:02trying to get a job. So these laws for certain other ones, I'm
- 42:07you know, certain people, I don't think you know, should but a
- 42:12lot can go ahead. Need to have a second chance, a second everybody.
- 42:17Like I said, I have a problem with it, with some of
- 42:22it too. I mean, but I think that majority of the people um
- 42:28that are getting these second chances, they deserve a second chance. Yes,
- 42:31I mean to deserve it. Yes, I don't think should have a clean
- 42:36slate, like I'm sorry, trauma lesson, that's it, have a clean
- 42:39slate. I mean they just there we go. You know. Now I'm
- 42:45gonna say it. I don't think and if you're just attacking people just to
- 42:47attack people, it's something different. But if it's a if it's a survival
- 42:52situation, if I'm surviving and this kill would be killed, then I mean,
- 42:57you know, you guys, do what you gotta do. I think
- 42:59you deserving an opportunity to live your life anew if you did your time already?
- 43:07Yes, So I mean it's just a lot of people are calling me
- 43:14and asking me questions like at THEA, so you need to put the questions
- 43:17out there. Are they asking questions for Alexis? What are they asking questions?
- 43:22They asking stupid questions like you still want the air? Yeah you know
- 43:25that already, Like yeah, oh my goodness, I can't when you were
- 43:37when you when you did when you started your photo shoot, and when you
- 43:40when you were doing your photo shoot. I want to know how did you
- 43:44feel because I know when I went in the booth it took a second,
- 43:50supid second. I said that she was still It's crazy because she is such
- 43:58the Oh I'm ready, She's like, I'm scared. I'm like, we're
- 44:02in the booth. This say your butterflies was real? It was something different.
- 44:07It was Yeah, it was it was different, so you honestly speaking,
- 44:15So honestly, I just feel like it's really a minding. Like I
- 44:19feel like for me when I first first, like I had my modeling instructor
- 44:25and all her camera people taking pictures and said it was very uncomfortable. But
- 44:30I feel like the day before prepped me because it were so many people that
- 44:34like from all over the world, like China, Saint Thomas, Virgin Island,
- 44:38all over like you know, so being with them, it's like that
- 44:45kind of took me out of my cover zone because I had to, you
- 44:46know, do poses. I had to pose for one whole minute, like
- 44:51do different poses. I had to play a song, let it play for
- 44:53a minute, and then do like poses NonStop. Because they tell you,
- 44:57like in the modeling industry, when you posing, you can't do one pose
- 45:00and they'd be like, all right, what's the next pose? Like you
- 45:02have to be ready for the photographer, like for them to take at least
- 45:07two hundred photos within a matter of like a minute or so. Like that's
- 45:09how quick like like that's how they tell you, Like they teach you strategy
- 45:20the matrix, right, you look like Neo and the matrix you got to
- 45:30move around so quickly, you really do, Like you really that dud like
- 45:34And because they tell you, like an industry photographers and stuff like that will
- 45:38get complicated too if you can't even listen to like the directors that they're giving
- 45:43you, you know what I'm saying, Like if they tell you to move
- 45:44a certain kind of way or like adjust something or look this to it look
- 45:46that way and you're not picking up to it. Like it'll make a photographer
- 45:51frustrating and not want to work with you again, which could be bad because
- 45:54it can affect you know, people that want to work with you, like
- 45:58they could let your age and know like I don't want to work again and
- 46:00stuff like that. So, so it was about the clothing changes. Did
- 46:05you have to do a lot of clothing changes, like you know, like
- 46:07outfit changes, or it wasn't just like one set, or you did like
- 46:13two or three different looks or so I actually did two looks the second day
- 46:19when they came in and they took pictures for resume and I portfolio, I
- 46:23did two looks. My first look I actually liked. My second one.
- 46:27I didn't really like like that because it was more it was something I wasn't
- 46:30used to. But then it's like, after seeing the pictures of myself,
- 46:32I was like, no, like these are actually dope. But my first
- 46:36look. Like the stylists, they had an actual professional stylist come in and
- 46:39he dressed me. He picked out my clothes, they did my hair,
- 46:44my makeup, They provided everything like literally everything, Like they provided me a
- 46:47list literally like almost every agency in every state, Like they gave me a
- 46:52whole list to be able to like start signing up and you know, getting
- 46:58going to casting codes and stuff like that. So it was definitely worth the
- 47:00price because I think I paid fifteen hundred first So it was definitely worth the
- 47:05price for sure, because they gave me so much knowledge what to expect and
- 47:08stuff like that. So you know, like I was really grateful for it.
- 47:13Okay, okay. And now so since you are, you know,
- 47:19you're part of the Pride community, how does that make you feel? Is
- 47:22it different for you as a you know, um as in the Pride community
- 47:29for like modeling, is it different? Do they treat you differently or is
- 47:34it okay? Or how do you feel about that? I mean, honestly,
- 47:38I would say, like, so since I started modeling, I had
- 47:44two casting calls. I walked three times, but I had two casting calls
- 47:47because two of the shows that I woke for I had a cast for them.
- 47:52Um. Honestly speaking, I would say, like one of the shows
- 47:55that I went to the actual owner of the designer that I walked for,
- 48:01Like at first, I wasn't really like feeling him because I feel like he
- 48:06was kind of being unprofessional and I had told him about it, and after
- 48:13that, like we spoke about it, like I have basically letting him know,
- 48:15like you know, like I'm not gonna keep my mouth shut, like
- 48:16I feel like, as you being someone that's supposed to be professional, and
- 48:20this is your design, your clothing brand, like you shouldn't being here doing
- 48:23certain things. It's not professional. So after we got our course stad like
- 48:27and move past that, it was like we're cool, you know what I'm
- 48:30saying. So it's like it all depends on the kind of relationships that you
- 48:32build with people. Not everybody's gonna like you. You know, you gotta
- 48:36understand being in the model of industry is a high competence, so like everybody
- 48:40trying to compete against each other. So that's why confidence is really keen and
- 48:45modeling like it really is. And you can go to modeling to bullshit confidence
- 48:49because you have to have confidence while modeling, like you would have to.
- 48:52Okay, all right, okay, so what kind of question, Okay,
- 48:58what kind of advice would you give an up and coming brown grand that wants
- 49:01to be a model. What would you tell them to do we tell them
- 49:05to look for, Like, how would you tell them to prepare themselves for
- 49:08this industry? Because this industry is a doggy dog industry from what I hear.
- 49:14I'm not a model, but I hear different things. How it's you
- 49:19know, it's it's a you know, their backbite, and it's cut throat,
- 49:22it's you know, So what what advice would you give them? Honestly,
- 49:27I will first say before actually doing anything, do some research. Um
- 49:32and one thing I would selling, Like I spoke to this girl because she
- 49:36asked me the same question before and I was basically ing her no. Like,
- 49:39you don't necessarily have to have a portfolio already to get into the modeling
- 49:45industry, Like you don't have to have anyone professional create one for you.
- 49:49Like you can actually set up like different photo shoots and put together your own
- 49:52portfolio to bring to a casting call. So if you're somebody who don't really
- 49:58have any experience, that's one way you can get yourself in the door,
- 50:01Like you know, set up photo suits and then build your your portfolio.
- 50:05Once you build your portfolio, you create you a move board. A move
- 50:08board is basically like a resume that you would bring to the judges that are
- 50:12judging you at the casting calls, and they would determine whether or not if
- 50:15they want to, you know, either allow you to move forward, HI
- 50:17you whatever they're gonna do, but I would let them know do their research.
- 50:22Definitely, don't trust everything everybody say, because you can be scam.
- 50:28It is very highly that you can be scam. Be yourself, don't be
- 50:32afraid to make mistakes. Do not be too hard in yourself. Definitely trust
- 50:37the process because honestly, my pictures that I think last year compared to the
- 50:42way I pose the stuff this year is a mazer difference. Like literally,
- 50:46like miss Pam, I might actually think the picture of me and my dad
- 50:51that I took for father Day I want to go seeing for father today.
- 50:54Major difference, like and something. I just be so amazed because it's like
- 50:58wow, Like it showed you what being consistent can really do and the effect
- 51:01you can really get on being consistent and no matter what it is that you
- 51:05do, because you could tell and my pictures. Before I started modeling,
- 51:07I was nervous, you know, I was shy. I didn't really like
- 51:12people watching when when I took pictures. But now It's like my dad always
- 51:15told me, on that camera, on the camera. So now you put
- 51:20me in front of that camera, I'm gonna on that camera. I'm definitely
- 51:23on that camera, all right. Yeah, And for you, I have
- 51:31a surprise. Okay, guess who's on the air now to talk to you?
- 51:36Right now? Who your dad? Here you go, Gaby, She's
- 51:45live on the air, Undy dig hi dad. So she's great, amazing
- 51:55job. What you're doing that. Happy to hear that, happy part of
- 52:02the progress. What's going on with what's your discussion over there? How model
- 52:07lady. She's amazing, amazing brown girl. She's giving us an amazing,
- 52:15amazing interview. I'm very proud of her. She really knows what she wants.
- 52:20Yeah, she's inspiration to a lot of these young girls. Um,
- 52:24she's really doing an amazing job. She as you. You should be very
- 52:28proud of you. I appreciate. Definitely, definitely happy, happy to hear
- 52:43making progress and happy to sh being real motivated for the younger, younger ladies
- 52:47coming up, you know. And it's a thing she learned at the same
- 52:51time she's teaching. Yeah, and I think that's what life's about. How
- 52:53to tell her, you know, Chase should chase your dream, believe in
- 52:57yourself, had faith, and I didn't know. I'm just caught all progress.
- 53:00So I'm definitely happy. That's good and that you know. I can't
- 53:06be more than thankful to have you on my phone. No, that's the
- 53:07fact, because even though you be on my heels, you know he do
- 53:19sometimes he means stepping on it. I'm like, he relaxed, like we
