- 0:00Speaker 1: From Hollywood. See you, thank you for listening to us.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Ryan Air on Air with a Ryan Seacrest.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Seacrest here, let me grab maybe So, maybe your friends
- 0:18Speaker 3: are mad that you hooked up with the wrong guy
- 0:21Speaker 3: at a party.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Yeah, sort of. So my friend, she's been trying to
- 0:29Speaker 4: set me up with one of her coworkers for forever,
- 0:31Speaker 4: and she decided she was going to host a party
- 0:34Speaker 4: at her house there and I invited like a bunch
- 0:36Speaker 4: of her work friends and other friends and friends of friends,
- 0:39Speaker 4: et cetera. So while at the party, I kind of
- 0:43Speaker 4: ended up meeting this other guy and we really hit
- 0:46Speaker 4: it off, and we exchanged phone numbers and we do
- 0:50Speaker 4: have plans to go out this weekend, which I'm really
- 0:52Speaker 4: excited about. But now my friends are really mad at
- 0:56Speaker 4: me because it didn't work out with her coworker. And
- 0:59Speaker 4: I know she hosted a party with the canabus meeting
- 1:02Speaker 4: and getting together. But I don't know what to do here.
- 1:06Speaker 4: I mean, am I in the wrong?
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:09Speaker 3: But if you yeah, but if you like the other guy,
- 1:11Speaker 3: then you got to go with the guy you like.
- 1:13Speaker 1: You can't just go with the other guy.
- 1:14Speaker 5: But that doesn't make her in the wrong. The heart
- 1:16Speaker 5: wants what it wants, and that's what it wanted.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was I mean, it was a little
- 1:20Speaker 3: disrespectful to the friend because events trying to say you up.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But it doesn't matter because you liked the other guy.
- 1:24Speaker 5: Not disrespectful.
- 1:25Speaker 1: You hooked up. Did you hook up? Hook up?
- 1:28Speaker 4: No, not yet, and that's none of your business.
- 1:36Speaker 1: You know what. I was thinking the same, But I
- 1:39Speaker 1: need to know it is not that serious. They just
- 1:42Speaker 1: made out. It's not that far along. It's what I
- 1:45Speaker 1: was trying to.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Get at me the coworker. I didn't meet the coworker,
- 1:49Speaker 4: and he was great.
- 1:50Speaker 2: But the coworker standing there with like a bouquet of flowers,
- 1:54Speaker 2: and you just completely ditched him, or didn't.
- 1:56Speaker 5: He really didn't care.
- 1:57Speaker 4: He just went to the bathroom and we separated at
- 2:00Speaker 4: the party. It wasn't like you stayed by me the
- 2:02Speaker 4: whole time. And when he went to the bathroom, that's
- 2:04Speaker 4: when I met this other guy.
- 2:06Speaker 1: And you know, that's what the universe does.
- 2:09Speaker 3: So you apologize to your coworker and just say, hey,
- 2:12Speaker 3: I'm so sorry, but I hooked up with this guy.
- 2:15Speaker 1: She's got to understand. Yeah, as long as you're happy,
- 2:20Speaker 1: you don't understand this other guy.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Well, yeah, exactly, we're going on a date. We'll see
- 2:27Speaker 4: how it goes. I mean, if it doesn't work out,
- 2:29Speaker 4: because you know that's how it goes sometimes, maybe I'll
- 2:32Speaker 4: get her co worker another try or round about again.
- 2:35Speaker 4: But I mean, I'm really excited to go on the day.
- 2:38Speaker 4: We were talking the whole night and that thing's great.
- 2:41Speaker 1: That's what it's about.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Excitement for actually going out with someone as opposed to dread.
- 2:46Speaker 1: So congratulations.
- 2:48Speaker 6: I don't hate the idea of ge both options open
- 2:50Speaker 6: to So yeah, you got to have a parents back.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, all right, well thank you for listening. Kiss.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I was gonna get into something, but actually, let's take
- 2:59Speaker 3: Meghan on the line. If you ever want to get
- 3:01Speaker 3: in and on the phone with us, and you've got
- 3:03Speaker 3: something you want to give you feedback on feel Free
- 3:05Speaker 3: one eight hundred and five two I want to two seven.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Megan actually here calling about her roommate. How can we
- 3:11Speaker 3: help Megan? We're here to advise.
- 3:14Speaker 7: Ryan. Yeah. So I just moved in with my roommate
- 3:18Speaker 7: and we get along great and I'm really stoked to
- 3:21Speaker 7: live together and everything. But I was watching I was
- 3:25Speaker 7: like on Instagram and I open up a story, my
- 3:29Speaker 7: my roommate story, and I say that like she has
- 3:33Speaker 7: like she's in the kitchen and like she's using one
- 3:35Speaker 7: of my pants that like, uh, that I hadn't like
- 3:41Speaker 7: opened from my kitchen box. So like I'm like, wait
- 3:45Speaker 7: a minute, like why is my pan being used?
- 3:48Speaker 4: You know?
- 3:49Speaker 7: So then I go home a couple hours later and
- 3:51Speaker 7: like all my kitchen boxes that I hadn't opened yet
- 3:54Speaker 7: for the apartment have been like opened and rummaged through,
- 3:58Speaker 7: And like I don't know what to do because like
- 4:00Speaker 7: we just moved in together and I don't want to
- 4:02Speaker 7: cause issues like so early on, but like she went
- 4:06Speaker 7: through my stuff without talking to me about it first,
- 4:09Speaker 7: and I just wasn't awesome. So I don't know if
- 4:13Speaker 7: I should like talk to her about it or what
- 4:15Speaker 7: to do.
- 4:16Speaker 3: How did you find this roommate? You say you're new
- 4:18Speaker 3: living together? How did you unite?
- 4:21Speaker 7: We actually were in like the same grad school program together,
- 4:25Speaker 7: so we've known each other for a couple of years,
- 4:27Speaker 7: but this is the first time we're like living together.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I got it, But so there's history, Like you know,
- 4:31Speaker 3: this is a good person in theory, right, like not
- 4:33Speaker 3: not try to wrong when you say, went through your stuff?
- 4:38Speaker 3: What did this roommate do to go through your stuff?
- 4:40Speaker 3: What do you mean by that?
- 4:43Speaker 7: Yeah, Like so she was moved in before I was.
- 4:46Speaker 7: Then I had left my kitchen stuff like out, so
- 4:50Speaker 7: like my I had like three kitchen boxes and a
- 4:53Speaker 7: lot anyway, I know, I've too much stuff and so
- 4:56Speaker 7: and like it the boxes were all open, like there
- 5:00Speaker 7: was some stuff that was like taken out of the
- 5:02Speaker 7: boxes and like left. So yeah, they had just been
- 5:06Speaker 7: like gone through.
- 5:07Speaker 1: What's she trying to help out by unpacking you?
- 5:11Speaker 7: It didn't look that way. What it was like, I
- 5:14Speaker 7: don't know. It was like.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Cool to go through someone else's things.
- 5:18Speaker 1: What if you're trying to help them out? Unpacked? All right.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I don't know what the issue was here, but there's
- 5:27Speaker 3: only one way to handle this, and you better start
- 5:29Speaker 3: now by setting a precedent, and that is to talk
- 5:32Speaker 3: to your roommate about your things, your privacy. You're not
- 5:38Speaker 3: overstepping boundaries. I mean, this is that broader conversation about that. Actually,
- 5:41Speaker 3: it's a good thing this happened because now you can
- 5:43Speaker 3: talk bigger about separation, compartmentalization, boundaries, what's yours, what's shared?
- 5:49Speaker 3: I think this opens the door to having your real
- 5:51Speaker 3: structural conversation about how you're going to live together and
- 5:55Speaker 3: share or not share certain things.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Good on your roommate, that's huge.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Yeah, this opens the door for the conversation and you
- 6:03Speaker 3: could talk about the whole now, the bigger picture.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I guess mine if you want to try to find
- 6:07Speaker 2: the silver lining here. But it's still messed up that
- 6:09Speaker 2: she did.
- 6:10Speaker 3: It, but let's address it now and it's a precedent.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Good luck, and thank you very much for listening.
- 6:15Speaker 7: Look, thank you guys, have a cool one you too.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Sometimes conversations on one level are meant to be had
- 6:24Speaker 3: at another level so you can cover other things, sure,
- 6:28Speaker 3: and not have to have that conversation again. It was like, look,
- 6:30Speaker 3: this happened, Let's not have this conversation again. Let's cover
- 6:32Speaker 3: all the different moving parts here and have a full
- 6:34Speaker 3: scope idea of how we're going to live together, how
- 6:38Speaker 3: we're gonna work together, we're gonna share together, how we're
- 6:40Speaker 3: not going to share together.
- 6:41Speaker 1: One or two point seven kids. Fm uh.
- 6:44Speaker 3: You know, we just should congratulate everybody for getting into
- 6:47Speaker 3: the studio safely on a daily basis.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You can't take that for granted.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Sophia had an issue our intern you had what was
- 6:54Speaker 3: the mishap that happened under your way in Sofia. I'm
- 6:56Speaker 3: glad you made it in one piece in your here safely.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 6:58Speaker 8: I'm also glad so So every morning I drive in
- 7:01Speaker 8: from Riverside, so it's kind of a far drive. And
- 7:03Speaker 8: this morning, when I was merging from the sixty to
- 7:06Speaker 8: the seventy one, it's a very short merge lane, so
- 7:09Speaker 8: I don't have a lot of time to go, and
- 7:12Speaker 8: the car next to me is going the same speed
- 7:14Speaker 8: i am, and it's going right next to me, and
- 7:16Speaker 8: I'm watching the road get smaller and smaller, and I'm thinking,
- 7:19Speaker 8: is he gonna speed up?
- 7:20Speaker 1: Is he gonna slow down?
- 7:21Speaker 5: Like what are we gonna do? Are we gonna crash?
- 7:24Speaker 8: And he just kept going right next to me, So
- 7:26Speaker 8: last minute I had to speed up super duper fast
- 7:29Speaker 8: and cut him off, and then he has the audacity
- 7:32Speaker 8: to honk at me.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah, like what you came off.
- 7:36Speaker 3: But it was a point people disappoint Sophia. This is
- 7:41Speaker 3: the lesson. Not everybody's good. There are more good than bad,
- 7:45Speaker 3: but some people, like that person literally was playing with you,
- 7:51Speaker 3: was playing a game with you.
- 7:52Speaker 1: It was messy.
- 7:53Speaker 3: That person knew they were playing head games with you,
- 7:56Speaker 3: Jedi mind tricking you to go the exact same parallel speed,
- 8:00Speaker 3: knowing that the road is coming to a funnel and
- 8:02Speaker 3: not let you over. They know they know you're gonna
- 8:05Speaker 3: have to speed up and cut them off. They just
- 8:07Speaker 3: can't wait to be mean. It's like they had to
- 8:09Speaker 3: be mean on the way in.
- 8:11Speaker 8: Should I have slowed down like was I in the ross?
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yes, you probably should have slowed it.
- 8:15Speaker 3: I mean I don't, just as a safe driver advocate,
- 8:20Speaker 3: anytime you speed up and go in front of somebody,
- 8:22Speaker 3: it's probably a little more dangerous than backing off and
- 8:26Speaker 3: just smoothly getting behind them.
- 8:27Speaker 1: SI, isn't he? I don't know.
- 8:29Speaker 5: I would have just sped.
- 8:30Speaker 2: When you go on the on wrap, you I speed
- 8:33Speaker 2: and then I go to a little bit. I don't
- 8:34Speaker 2: like linger and wait for my turn to get into
- 8:37Speaker 2: the freeway.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I look for opportunities to let people in, and then
- 8:41Speaker 3: I judge them because I've let you in. I want
- 8:44Speaker 3: to wave, bro like, not just just come on in
- 8:48Speaker 3: and move on. I need a wave that I can
- 8:50Speaker 3: see through the glass back window, A big wave. You're
- 8:54Speaker 3: in a parade kind of wave like you are the
- 8:56Speaker 3: queen of the parade, the king and the parade whatever.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I want a big way and then I feel good.
- 9:01Speaker 3: There is a way to flip this around. Be the
- 9:03Speaker 3: person that lets people do things and then judge them.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Don't judge them until they've if they've not thanked you.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Oh that's a real day.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I don't get a wave or a peace sign. Amazing day.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:17Speaker 3: And if you're in an suv, unroll the window. Wave
- 9:21Speaker 3: outside that thing nice and big. Why you can see it?
- 9:25Speaker 3: Because I want to.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I want to be acknowledged that I was doing a
- 9:27Speaker 1: good deed.
- 9:28Speaker 5: Thereoundation.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Did that ruin your morning? Did that like get like
- 9:33Speaker 2: get to you? Because I I would have. I when
- 9:36Speaker 2: someone honks at me, I get so offended and I'm
- 9:39Speaker 2: just like and.
- 9:39Speaker 5: It really like I have to shake myself to get
- 9:42Speaker 5: out of it.
- 9:43Speaker 8: Yeah, it kind of ruined my morning because it's like
- 9:44Speaker 8: in the beginning of my drive and I had to
- 9:46Speaker 8: drive the rest of the way with both hands on
- 9:48Speaker 8: the wheel.
- 9:48Speaker 3: And you're like, you guys, guys, don't let other people
- 9:53Speaker 3: control your emotion.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Let's stop it.
- 9:56Speaker 3: These are people who don't even know let them do
- 9:58Speaker 3: it it's their problem or coming back.
- 10:00Speaker 1: This is kiss.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Streaming all over the world from the iHeartRadio app FM
- 10:07Speaker 3: in your car?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Tell me what's wrong? What are you? What's going on?
- 10:10Speaker 7: No?
- 10:10Speaker 5: You said the world? So I was just doing like
- 10:12Speaker 5: a globe.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Oh oh good, you're you're minding what I say. Okay,
- 10:17Speaker 3: Now I'm gonna go open the door and walk out.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Do it?
- 10:20Speaker 5: Wait what it's a it's a.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Big mind move. Yeah, climb the wall. All right.
- 10:26Speaker 3: So I don't I don't play poker like in Vegas.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Like I don't go play poker in Vegas. I I
- 10:32Speaker 3: have buddies that play poker all the time here like
- 10:35Speaker 3: in LA. But maybe you have a weekly poker night, right,
- 10:40Speaker 3: maybe you know someone who does.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Here are some tips.
- 10:44Speaker 3: They say, you're more likely to win if you play
- 10:48Speaker 3: with red chips.
- 10:51Speaker 5: Come on, why, why does the color matter?
- 10:55Speaker 3: Researchers found that poker players were more likely to fold
- 10:59Speaker 3: if their competitors played with red chips. Players with red
- 11:02Speaker 3: chips are perceived to be more intimidating if they use
- 11:06Speaker 3: red chips.
- 11:07Speaker 6: Really, maybe it's like how you're supposed to wear like
- 11:09Speaker 6: a red dress on a first date.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Well, Coca Cola is in a red can because you
- 11:14Speaker 3: don't like they. That's intentional, right. The strategy of red
- 11:19Speaker 3: excites or sells or something interesting.
- 11:21Speaker 1: If you've played.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Poker, I want to try it next time. I'm not
- 11:23Speaker 5: gonna tell anybody too. I'm just like, oh, I'll take.
- 11:25Speaker 1: The red chips. Today's quote.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Confidence isn't walking into a room thinking you're better. It's
- 11:31Speaker 3: knowing you don't need to be in that.
- 11:33Speaker 1: All right, It's kissed.
- 11:35Speaker 3: LA's number one hits music station. Tanya run down the
- 11:39Speaker 3: headlines and then we get back to everything here.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I guess at them headlines with Tanya red Well.
- 11:45Speaker 6: The LAFD says they expect the Boil Heights Warehouse fire
- 11:49Speaker 6: to finally be put out very shortly, as crews have
- 11:51Speaker 6: made significant progress on the fire, which has now been
- 11:54Speaker 6: burning for a week. LAUSD unanimously approved a policy to
- 11:59Speaker 6: limits student screen time starting in August, including zero screen
- 12:03Speaker 6: time before second grade. The La City Council voted to
- 12:06Speaker 6: put a half cent sales tax increase on the November
- 12:09Speaker 6: ballot to get funding for the La Fire Department.
- 12:12Speaker 5: A thirteen year.
- 12:13Speaker 6: Old boy got out of the ride vehicle on Tiana's
- 12:17Speaker 6: Bayou Adventure at Disneyland and fell down the fifty foot drop.
- 12:21Speaker 6: The ride was stopped and the boy suffered only minor
- 12:24Speaker 6: cuts and scrapes.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Concept that your music is cyclical, right, it's it goes
- 12:31Speaker 3: in cycles. You've got artists that back in the day
- 12:34Speaker 3: boy bands everywhere.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Then we went you know, singer songwriter.
- 12:41Speaker 5: You got the BDM, the EIGHTM era era.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Then you got your Aris Sabrina Jaylor give yeah, you
- 12:51Speaker 3: got that going on. And during all of it, there
- 12:53Speaker 3: are these lyrical trends that creep up on you, but
- 12:56Speaker 3: we don't realize it sometimes until someone points them out.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Yeah, where they circulate virally.
- 13:02Speaker 3: And you did this a while back about songs in
- 13:05Speaker 3: the twenty tens that had nan nah in them.
- 13:07Speaker 1: So many songs said nan nah Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Like no na na nana, or like the Rihanna song.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Yeah, so another very common nana has been discovered.
- 13:17Speaker 1: The whoa right, the woe? Who knew?
- 13:20Speaker 5: There were so many woes in the twenty tens.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I don't think about this. We played these songs all
- 13:23Speaker 3: the time and it doesn't dawn on me. Oh that's
- 13:25Speaker 3: another song with a woe.
- 13:26Speaker 5: And not even all the.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Time like in those years. It was like year after
- 13:29Speaker 2: year after year. You know, so twenty eleven, twenty twelve,
- 13:33Speaker 2: twenty thirteen, call it. This lyric was in all these songs.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So these are all the woes put together.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Justin Bieber did it in this track your Baby?
- 13:44Speaker 8: Oh oh?
- 13:50Speaker 2: I think it's like filler lyrics until they realized what
- 13:53Speaker 2: lyric they're gonna use, and.
- 13:54Speaker 5: They're like, I just leave it in.
- 13:55Speaker 1: It sounds pretty good that romans.
- 14:04Speaker 4: All right, this is.
- 14:05Speaker 1: In twenty ten. There are walls everywhere.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Do you think they have any idea that because I
- 14:14Speaker 3: don't think they do when they're putting these together.
- 14:16Speaker 1: That they're in so many games.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Wow, who is that is that? Britney Spears?
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I think this is Kesha. Well, there's a twist
- 14:29Speaker 1: on it. There's a twist on the.
- 14:36Speaker 3: See taking ownership before their own style of.
- 14:43Speaker 1: So different than that justin Bieber one Laicia. It's crazy
- 14:49Speaker 1: to hear them. I don't know, how do you not know?
- 14:56Speaker 1: There's so many walls always on the chart.
- 14:58Speaker 3: These are all in the twenty ten them too.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I'm telling you it has to be just filler sounds
- 15:08Speaker 2: that these artists do when they're writing these songs. They
- 15:12Speaker 2: have their lyrics, they have their chorus, but they don't
- 15:13Speaker 2: know what that part's going to be, so they just
- 15:14Speaker 2: will owe it and then they just leave.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Why why not? Wha was in the nineties? Why wa walls?
- 15:20Speaker 1: Right now?
- 15:21Speaker 5: We just stuck specifically to the twenty tens.
- 15:24Speaker 2: You shouldn't the kind of have like Charlie Pouthon or
- 15:26Speaker 2: something that we should ask him if this is a thing.
- 15:28Speaker 5: I feel like Kee.
- 15:28Speaker 7: Would now.
- 15:30Speaker 1: He would probably not. That was just fun.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Mikayla is dating, Sophia is dating. I can't date till
- 15:38Speaker 3: I get rid of the flu. Bee yeah so soon.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not. I'm not not. I was toying with.
- 15:45Speaker 5: I think you have socialized, don't you?
- 15:47Speaker 1: Flu a whatever? I can't remember. It clogs your memory.
- 15:51Speaker 5: I think the b is like nausea.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I have a thanks for remembering that. You know,
- 15:55Speaker 3: it's all cloudy when you have the flu. But I'm
- 15:56Speaker 3: not doing any socializing this weekend.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Again. That's two weekends and no social no friends, no
- 16:00Speaker 1: nothing because of the flu.
- 16:01Speaker 7: Oh.
- 16:01Speaker 5: I'm sure you're happy about that.
- 16:04Speaker 7: Now.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I'd like to get out you find some love.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're probably like, oh, I got the flu,
- 16:09Speaker 2: looks like I gotta just stay in with Georgia.
- 16:12Speaker 3: No, I want to find someone this year, come on plenty.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Anyway, those are a searching. This is called the brunch
- 16:19Speaker 1: theory test. What is it? This is what you put
- 16:20Speaker 1: somebody through at the beginning.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Yes, when it comes down to like finding the one
- 16:25Speaker 2: or somebody you want to be with, you want them
- 16:26Speaker 2: to be themselves. You want it to be easy at
- 16:28Speaker 2: the beginning, like right and needs to just work and blend.
- 16:31Speaker 2: So the brunch table theory is that you basically try
- 16:35Speaker 2: to spot all the green flags of comfort and kindness
- 16:38Speaker 2: if they can hold their own at a brunch with
- 16:41Speaker 2: like your friends of you know, mixed backgrounds, and like
- 16:43Speaker 2: you know, this is my friend from high school and
- 16:45Speaker 2: this is my friend from college, and like we can
- 16:47Speaker 2: all get along and they just mesh right into that
- 16:49Speaker 2: brunch table and it's effortless. Then that is a clear
- 16:53Speaker 2: sign that this is a keeper, a lifer, somebody that
- 16:56Speaker 2: you should invest your time in.
- 16:58Speaker 3: But it's got to be not brunch just with them.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Then it's got to be brunch with a cast of
- 17:02Speaker 3: people in your life.
- 17:03Speaker 5: Yes exactly.
- 17:04Speaker 2: I mean not like necessarily your siblings and your parents
- 17:06Speaker 2: any more like your friends, I think if they can
- 17:08Speaker 2: just get along with your friends right out the gate,
- 17:10Speaker 2: like that is a huge green flag.
- 17:12Speaker 1: And this actually worked for me. I didn't even know that.
- 17:15Speaker 5: I was doing it.
- 17:15Speaker 2: It wasn't a brunch table, but it was a dinner table.
- 17:18Speaker 2: My blind date with Michael was supposed to be a
- 17:20Speaker 2: double date with my sister and her husband. She ended
- 17:22Speaker 2: up inviting like a group of her friends. She told
- 17:25Speaker 2: me to invite a friend. She told Michael to bring
- 17:27Speaker 2: a friend, and ended up being ten people and Michael
- 17:29Speaker 2: held his own in front of all these strangers.
- 17:31Speaker 5: And it was a huge turn on for me.
- 17:34Speaker 1: And I was like, I do this all the time.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I mean it worked out.
- 17:36Speaker 5: For Oh, you're a great, You're a great.
- 17:38Speaker 3: I a brunch table, Well, No, I bring people into
- 17:43Speaker 3: friend groups fast.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I don't wait around.
- 17:46Speaker 3: I usually bring them because I also look at like
- 17:49Speaker 3: there were many, so many units of socializing. So it's
- 17:51Speaker 3: like if I meet someone on a Friday and I
- 17:53Speaker 3: got plans with my friends on the Saturday, I merge it.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I say here, you're gonna meet everybody fast, like people
- 17:58Speaker 3: have gone. I would meet everybody fast. They meet my
- 18:01Speaker 3: best friends sometimes in the same day. That is wild,
- 18:05Speaker 3: but you know what if you know you know?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Well, No, I don't know.
- 18:09Speaker 3: I'm just trying to consolidate the time that I've got
- 18:12Speaker 3: to spend with people that I'm trying to date and
- 18:14Speaker 3: that i'm friends with. Sofia, are you gonna put skeletor
- 18:17Speaker 3: this new guy that you met on Halloween's Skeletory and
- 18:19Speaker 3: put him through the test.
- 18:20Speaker 8: I'm gonna try, but I'm kind of getting vibes that
- 18:22Speaker 8: he would be a third wheel with all my friends.
- 18:25Speaker 5: That's not a good sign. But maybe it's just because
- 18:29Speaker 5: he would be shy.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 18:31Speaker 3: My suggestion is anything you think is already gonna be
- 18:34Speaker 3: a problem, avoid the test.
- 18:35Speaker 1: You don't want to problem.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Everything's going so well, so don't put him into a
- 18:38Speaker 3: situation where he's gonna fail.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't want to answer.
- 18:41Speaker 1: What annoys you more than anything?
- 18:43Speaker 3: Apparently, harmless hosting habits secretly annoy your guests, and on
- 18:46Speaker 3: that list is only providing alcoholic beverages, Like when you're hosting,
- 18:51Speaker 3: your guests are annoyed.
- 18:52Speaker 1: If you're only providing.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Alcoholic beverages, I gotta Sam Gassi for that.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Changed Well, I mean, I got other's stuff, but I
- 19:00Speaker 3: mean feel free water like there's water wave sodas.
- 19:04Speaker 1: When we got we had sodas and stuff like that.
- 19:08Speaker 3: People are annoyed when they come over and you over
- 19:10Speaker 3: theme or overschedule any sort of social activity. Too many games,
- 19:16Speaker 3: many things going on now. People are also annoyed when
- 19:19Speaker 3: you're late. That's a big deal this year. People are
- 19:22Speaker 3: tired of you being late in twenty twenty six. Who's
- 19:24Speaker 3: most likely to be tardy here?
- 19:28Speaker 5: Like to work, we all show up on time. To party,
- 19:32Speaker 5: that's good, Like my.
- 19:33Speaker 1: House, right, who is who got there on time? And
- 19:36Speaker 1: who got there late?
- 19:38Speaker 5: We all got there on time.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Yeah, because you said like five pm arrivals such a
- 19:43Speaker 2: weird message, I was like, why.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Is that weird? Why? Why is that weird? Followed by
- 19:49Speaker 1: drinks and dinner.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 5: I was just very like, where are we going to
- 19:51Speaker 5: get there five?
- 19:52Speaker 1: But that's because I may be annoyingly over scheduling.
- 19:55Speaker 3: But I want you to understand that there's a pace
- 19:57Speaker 3: to the night, which is in the afternoon. Get it.
- 20:00Speaker 2: And so if someone shows up like for I think
- 20:03Speaker 2: forty five minutes is too late. Twenty minutes is a
- 20:05Speaker 2: good gray spirit to be like, somebody.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Invites you over for a for a meal, like they're
- 20:12Speaker 3: gonna serve that meal within a half hour of arrivals.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Aren't listen, I will not be late.
- 20:16Speaker 2: I'm just saying if I was the host and someone
- 20:18Speaker 2: showed up twenty minutes late, I would It's not that
- 20:21Speaker 2: big of a deal. But like forty five, it's like
- 20:23Speaker 2: what are you doing?
- 20:25Speaker 3: So think about who's always late in your life? And
- 20:29Speaker 3: scientists worked up this whole thing about it. They say
- 20:33Speaker 3: people are late for specific reasons. Some people are optimistic.
- 20:37Speaker 3: They believe that everything's gonna go smoothly, getting ready, getting
- 20:43Speaker 3: out the door, car, working traffic. They're always late because
- 20:48Speaker 3: nothing goes smoothly, nothing goes like cockwork, and it takes
- 20:52Speaker 3: you a lot more time to get from ready to
- 20:55Speaker 3: in the car or in the uber to go.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Like I never calculate that that's something. I don't care.
- 20:59Speaker 3: It's about twelve minutes to get like okay, I'm ready,
- 21:02Speaker 3: but then to get all your stuff gathered then get going.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Yes, and like for me, it's like making sure the
- 21:08Speaker 2: dogs went potty outside and like putting them back in
- 21:10Speaker 2: the house and like secure, you know that type of stuff.
- 21:12Speaker 3: All right, So scientists say, then there's free spirited people.
- 21:15Speaker 3: They're just a distract. They just don't really pay attention
- 21:18Speaker 3: to time. They're always asking you what time it is,
- 21:20Speaker 3: and they're shocked by it. They're blown away by what
- 21:22Speaker 3: time is?
- 21:24Speaker 1: It's three thirty?
- 21:25Speaker 3: What on what day? It's Tuesday? What do you mean
- 21:30Speaker 3: people ask you what date it is?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, my sister, I'm like every day Saturday
- 21:35Speaker 2: for you?
- 21:35Speaker 1: Like id so upset? How could you not know?
- 21:39Speaker 3: What kind of life are you living where you don't
- 21:41Speaker 3: know the day of the week.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Oh my kids during winter break they didn't know what
- 21:45Speaker 5: day it was.
- 21:46Speaker 3: It's a deal breaker for me. I can't date you
- 21:48Speaker 3: if you don't know the day of the week. Yeah,
- 21:50Speaker 3: we cannot ever be in a relationship.
- 21:54Speaker 1: You're on time, and you gotta know the day.
- 21:57Speaker 5: You're three days ahead.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Usually ask me what day of the week. I don't
- 22:01Speaker 1: know why it gets under my skin Tube on air
- 22:05Speaker 1: with Ryan Seacrest. This is the point, Sophia. You're the intern,
- 22:09Speaker 1: you're new here.
- 22:11Speaker 3: It's a point where if you have anything going on
- 22:13Speaker 3: with your boyfriend, not boyfriend, Gray Area, guy skeletor or
- 22:17Speaker 3: anybody in our life, it's a good time to talk
- 22:19Speaker 3: about them. Because generally they're not paying attention to friends
- 22:21Speaker 3: are not listening yet. It's tabletip roommates. This is it, right,
- 22:24Speaker 3: gossip it up here, your professors, your mom, whatever you
- 22:27Speaker 3: want right here.
- 22:28Speaker 1: This is the time.
- 22:29Speaker 3: So Michael at home is protesting something in the pantry, Sysney.
- 22:34Speaker 1: This is a big deal.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Listen, my husband of almost twelve years, by the way,
- 22:37Speaker 2: your anniversaries this weekend.
- 22:40Speaker 5: I put up with a lot. I feel as a wife.
- 22:43Speaker 2: You know. I can deal with him just taking off
- 22:45Speaker 2: his shoes in the middle of the living room and
- 22:47Speaker 2: leaving him like like like he stepped out of him.
- 22:50Speaker 2: I can deal with the rolled up socks that I
- 22:51Speaker 2: find under the couch. I can even deal with like
- 22:54Speaker 2: his his underwear, like in the pants, like when he
- 22:57Speaker 2: takes it off, and it's just like I do that. Okay,
- 23:01Speaker 2: But this is where I stop, because this is now.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Now we're wasting food, okay, and Michael like refuses. I
- 23:08Speaker 2: don't know if he refuses or he just doesn't think
- 23:09Speaker 2: about it. He doesn't use chip clips, and it drives
- 23:12Speaker 2: me insane.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Okay, so I don't either, My gosh, that's the problem.
- 23:22Speaker 2: The problem is, like I will just do the shopping
- 23:24Speaker 2: and I just got like a fresh bag of pretzels, okay.
- 23:27Speaker 2: And then I'm in pantry going to get the pretzels
- 23:29Speaker 2: and the pretzels have been open, but they were just
- 23:30Speaker 2: rolled down like.
- 23:31Speaker 1: This and no, no, no, okay.
- 23:35Speaker 2: And then now I go to eat the pretzel and
- 23:36Speaker 2: it's stale, and it's we just bought it three days ago.
- 23:39Speaker 3: So he does he not know you roll it down,
- 23:41Speaker 3: then turn it upside down and use the shelf to
- 23:43Speaker 3: keep it tight.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Ew no, flip it.
- 23:45Speaker 3: And invernon upside down and the pressure of the shelf
- 23:48Speaker 3: with the chips or the pretzels and no.
- 23:52Speaker 2: And I make this so easy. We have so many
- 23:54Speaker 2: chip clips I bought magnetic chip clips are on the fridge,
- 23:56Speaker 2: like they're right there in front of your face, like
- 23:59Speaker 2: just ron them. And then here's the other thing. He
- 24:01Speaker 2: does use it. He'll just still do his sloppy role
- 24:04Speaker 2: like that and then just put the chip clip and
- 24:05Speaker 2: that to me. And I know I'm very type A, but.
- 24:08Speaker 5: Like you need to like triangle fold it and then
- 24:11Speaker 5: like really exceed the air in there. I'm teaching the
- 24:15Speaker 5: I'm teaching the kids.
- 24:16Speaker 1: This less is a new you I've never seen.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I'm passing this down generation so that my kids don't
- 24:21Speaker 2: turn into this man with his non chip clip using habits.
- 24:25Speaker 3: It kind of all starts with us not separating our
- 24:28Speaker 3: joggers from our underwear, our sweats from our underwear. I
- 24:31Speaker 3: don't know why we find difficult to tear that apart
- 24:33Speaker 3: like peel banana, we can't hate.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I don't know why. I don't either. I put it
- 24:37Speaker 1: in the hamper and.
- 24:37Speaker 3: It's a disaster. It gets all knotted up, but I can't.
- 24:41Speaker 3: It starts there, we can't pull apart really our garments.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Then we're not going to do well in the pantry.
- 24:46Speaker 3: But I do think flipping it upside down works for me.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Well, at least tell him that maybe at least that'll.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Help benefits living along right there, Get to have my
- 24:54Speaker 3: own pantry procedure. All right, Jordan, when did you graduate
- 25:00Speaker 3: bourban Kai? I say it every time, I know, but
- 25:02Speaker 3: when twenty nineteen, Oh my gosh, it wasn't just yesterday.
- 25:07Speaker 3: I have this impression, I guess because when you told
- 25:09Speaker 3: when we met, you were telling me all about you know,
- 25:11Speaker 3: going to school down the street, wanting to work at
- 25:13Speaker 3: because of FM, And it was in my head that
- 25:14Speaker 3: you were there like yesterday, all right, so you reret
- 25:18Speaker 3: no vacancy. You see a cute guy, You walked up,
- 25:20Speaker 3: you made the move, you had to drink. Your friend
- 25:22Speaker 3: said go for it. You went for He asked the
- 25:23Speaker 3: guy out, You got his number, and now what did
- 25:26Speaker 3: you say to him? You said, look, I just want
- 25:28Speaker 3: to tell you the deal.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I want your number.
- 25:29Speaker 9: Yeah, so let's get straight to it. Think you're attractive?
- 25:33Speaker 9: Can I get your number?
- 25:34Speaker 5: That is so amazing that you did that.
- 25:36Speaker 1: It's great.
- 25:37Speaker 3: All these years on the face of this earth and
- 25:39Speaker 3: we've never done that. Like we should be taking lessons
- 25:42Speaker 3: right now. Jordan, I liked the guy because he like
- 25:47Speaker 3: checked on you afterwards to make sure you got home safely.
- 25:49Speaker 5: I was impressed, Yeah, very gentleman.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Like did he ask you out over the weekend? Yeah?
- 25:54Speaker 9: He actually had texted me the next day and he's like,
- 25:58Speaker 9: if you're interested, I would like to take you out
- 26:00Speaker 9: to dinner, and he already had a plan, which was
- 26:03Speaker 9: such a green flag.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Michayla, are you hearing this?
- 26:07Speaker 10: I am.
- 26:08Speaker 3: All these years we've been trying to find a guy
- 26:10Speaker 3: that's nice and Jordan walks up to them at No.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Vacancy and there he is, I need that's the guy
- 26:15Speaker 1: you're looking for. She's been looking for your guy for years.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, Jordan, let's go to the
- 26:20Speaker 1: club together.
- 26:21Speaker 10: There.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Oh, we had to just call the club, all right.
- 26:26Speaker 1: So what'd y'all do? And what was the highlight? Jordan?
- 26:28Speaker 9: The highlight was when he texted me to ask me out.
- 26:31Speaker 9: I said, yeah, let's go. Let's go to dinner. He's
- 26:33Speaker 9: asked if I wanted to go to too in Hollywood.
- 26:36Speaker 7: Oh.
- 26:36Speaker 9: I loved him, and yeah, I've never I've only been
- 26:40Speaker 9: once in the Vegas one, and I was very interested.
- 26:42Speaker 9: I said, okay, let's do it, and we went. It
- 26:46Speaker 9: was a Saturday at seven o'clock. I didn't know how
- 26:50Speaker 9: to feel about him picking me up for my house
- 26:51Speaker 9: because obviously, like I just met him. So I had
- 26:54Speaker 9: asked him to pick me up from here at the.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Station makes risk all the.
- 27:01Speaker 5: Pay there's security here.
- 27:02Speaker 3: What do you mean we got cameras?
- 27:08Speaker 2: Wait? That is so amazing.
- 27:10Speaker 9: Yeah, Sleep picked me up from here and then we
- 27:13Speaker 9: went to tow Dinner was great. He he said I could
- 27:18Speaker 9: order anything I wanted. I don't really go to fancy restaurants,
- 27:21Speaker 9: so I just ordered from the appetizer section, but I
- 27:25Speaker 9: got Honestly, I was full. Everything was great. And then
- 27:28Speaker 9: after we just went walked around Hollywood a little bit,
- 27:32Speaker 9: got a drink from the bar across the street baseline.
- 27:36Speaker 5: Yeah, and we just.
- 27:37Speaker 9: Got to know each other bit more. Here's the thing,
- 27:40Speaker 9: can I.
- 27:44Speaker 1: What's the thing?
- 27:46Speaker 5: It was great.
- 27:47Speaker 9: I just wish when I had approached him and asked
- 27:50Speaker 9: for his number, that I could remember what he looked like,
- 27:54Speaker 9: because in the moment thought he was attractive, but it
- 27:57Speaker 9: was really dark and no vacancy. So when he picked
- 28:00Speaker 9: me up, I was like, oh, that's not what you
- 28:03Speaker 9: look like from my memory.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Through the whole towel and bar across the street, not
- 28:09Speaker 3: liking his look.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Such a jerk. But it was nice. That's so nice.
- 28:16Speaker 3: You were defeated, you were let down, you were disappointed
- 28:19Speaker 3: from the beginning when he picked you up here, he
- 28:21Speaker 3: could have left him here.
- 28:22Speaker 5: I mean, a girl's gotta eat. Girls gotta eat.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Thank you, sy I know, but I'm so sad.
- 28:27Speaker 2: So was there a moment where you were like, Okay,
- 28:30Speaker 2: I can deal maybe, and then like we personality starts shining,
- 28:34Speaker 2: you know, like people become more attractive sometimes with their personality.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and rarely.
- 28:39Speaker 9: He conversated really well, and he's able to hold it.
- 28:43Speaker 9: That's why I think I was able to be like, Okay,
- 28:44Speaker 9: let's just go to the bar and get to know
- 28:46Speaker 9: each other a little bit more.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Now, let's just I mean, let's just cut to the business,
- 28:50Speaker 3: as you like to say. We gotta put him in
- 28:51Speaker 3: a friend zone. So how fast are we going to
- 28:52Speaker 3: do that?
- 28:53Speaker 9: I'm going to give him a second date opportunity?
- 28:56Speaker 1: Wow?
- 28:57Speaker 4: Why?
- 28:57Speaker 9: But only because he was really gentleman and I'll take
- 29:01Speaker 9: it because there's not a lot of people like that.
- 29:03Speaker 5: And she's hungry.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Mikaela is okay, he's not the one. It's all right,
- 29:08Speaker 3: you're vindicated.
- 29:09Speaker 1: A Jordan, You're very You're a very sweet person. Keep
- 29:15Speaker 1: us posted on that. Man.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Here's the thing always happens, doesn't it. Here's the thing?
- 29:21Speaker 1: All right?
- 29:21Speaker 3: Let me get to Lakewood's Julie on the phone. Hi,
- 29:25Speaker 3: Lakewood's Julie. How are you doing this morning?
- 29:28Speaker 7: I am good?
- 29:29Speaker 1: How are you alrighty?
- 29:31Speaker 3: So your husband is offended because he is not your
- 29:35Speaker 3: emergency contact?
- 29:36Speaker 1: Is that correct?
- 29:38Speaker 10: That is correct?
- 29:40Speaker 1: Is this really worth fighting about?
- 29:44Speaker 3: You? Tell me?
- 29:44Speaker 10: I don't know my husband is mad because we've been
- 29:48Speaker 10: married two years and he just found out that my
- 29:51Speaker 10: mom is my emergency contact and honestly, I had just
- 29:57Speaker 10: never thought to change it.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Okay, I get that, like my I mean, my mom's
- 30:04Speaker 3: number is in my phone from the first phone she
- 30:07Speaker 3: ever had, and so meaning like the name, the contact,
- 30:10Speaker 3: the contact name, which is Connie.
- 30:15Speaker 5: Why do you have your mom and your phone as Connie?
- 30:18Speaker 1: Exactly? I should have updated that to mom, but I did,
- 30:21Speaker 1: same situation, Connie.
- 30:25Speaker 10: Just that's the thing. Yeah, you just don't think about
- 30:28Speaker 10: the stuff. But now that I am thinking about it,
- 30:32Speaker 10: would be so much better in a crisis than he would.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Really, But I do feel like, I mean, look, if
- 30:39Speaker 3: we get married, we fall in love, we're partners. I
- 30:42Speaker 3: kind of want to know that I'm your number one
