- 0:00Over the course of the last couple decades, as
- 0:02paranormal television has really boomed, and
- 0:05then, as we said in the first episode, started
- 0:09dying, even in his death, it's still independently
- 0:15being produced on the internet, on streaming
- 0:19services like Paraflix. Point being, it's still
- 0:22very much a visual medium, still, even if it's
- 0:26not on TV. And with that... There comes a lot
- 0:29of questions on how to visually showcase and
- 0:33present the stories, the experiences, the paranormal
- 0:38aspects that so many people turn on these shows
- 0:43to watch. Something that's been kind of common
- 0:48across the board. and is controversial across
- 0:52the board not just in the paranormal genre but
- 0:54in documentary filmmaking reality television
- 0:57etc as a whole are the use of reenactments and
- 1:02that's been something a lot of people have relied
- 1:05on in paranormal tv on youtube to set up some
- 1:10paranormal experiences to you know kind of get
- 1:12some b -roll and fill in the gaps to really utilize
- 1:16all that the visual aspects of visual storytelling
- 1:20can really do that separates it from something
- 1:23like a podcast or a radio show. You know, you
- 1:27can reenact experiences, history, even the very
- 1:32ghost you're speaking to. So today we're going
- 1:34to break down reenactments. Welcome to our podcast
- 1:37where we take deep dives looking at various topics
- 1:40through a paranormal lens. I know in the past,
- 1:45even just anecdotally, um, there was a story
- 1:51at a haunted location we were filming at about
- 1:55this door that kept opening up on its own. So
- 1:57I set up a B roll shot. Um, that was fairly obvious.
- 2:03Like it was like a close up and like you couldn't
- 2:06see the whole door and i just kind of like pushed
- 2:08the door slowly to get that good shot of like
- 2:11it kind of opening up to reveal the room and
- 2:14the good creaking of the door to kind of overlay
- 2:16when they said the door always opens and it kind
- 2:19of cuts to that there was a concern by someone
- 2:22present that they they thought that showing that
- 2:26clip uh might kind of diminish the paranormal
- 2:33aspect and kind of um play into or kind of not
- 2:39play into but kind of negate some of the authenticity
- 2:43and genuine aspects of our later investigation
- 2:47because it shows us faking the door opening so
- 2:50what would that mean if later in the night we
- 2:53genuinely capture the door opening so i So are
- 3:01you saying, like, what is our, like, what's the
- 3:05impact of us purposely opening the door for a...
- 3:08I mean, that's just one anecdote. That's just
- 3:11one anecdotal, you know, story I had. But, like,
- 3:16I don't get it. Like, you're saying, like, what's
- 3:19the impact of it, of you opening the shop? That
- 3:22means someone's concerned would be us just walking
- 3:26around. Us just... Like we're faking evidence
- 3:30or something. Putting it off our phone. Like,
- 3:33I feel like that. like i just i plainly don't
- 3:37get it what's the difference of opening the door
- 3:38compared to like sitting up sitting down holding
- 3:41your phone um because it's from from the perspective
- 3:45of you know and this is a common i mean there's
- 3:47many aspects of reenactments i think we can and
- 3:50probably will get into um that people have raised
- 3:52questions about but it is you know let's say
- 3:55two uh there have been uh incidents where i reenact
- 4:01a shot where someone says they see a shadow so
- 4:03i walk past and cast a shadow to overlay there
- 4:07and i remove myself from the video it is fairly
- 4:10obvious that this is intended to be a reenactment
- 4:14to visually demonstrate but there are some concerns
- 4:18from purists so to speak um purists yeah like
- 4:23people who watch your stuff type of thing People
- 4:26are very pure. Everything needs to be straight
- 4:30from the camera. Everything needs to be authentic,
- 4:33real material, not reenactments. There's this
- 4:37layer, and one can argue that there's this layer
- 4:42of distrust or disingenuine, not trickery. I
- 4:48mean, perhaps visual trickery, like in visual
- 4:52effects, but there's a deceptive nature to...
- 4:56Showing a bunch of reenactments. Of you reenacting.
- 5:00Paranormal activity. And then you have to. Then.
- 5:05Just assume. That the audience trusts. That as
- 5:10soon as you shift into investigation mode. That
- 5:12authenticity. Is actually being portrayed. It's
- 5:17really difficult these days. To you know. I never
- 5:21thought of it that way. I guess. Because we've.
- 5:25there have been so many paranormal shows that
- 5:28do those sorts of things i feel like that's become
- 5:32the norm and i like it's never crossed my mind
- 5:36that there would actually be people out there
- 5:38who would think that way and be like oh well
- 5:41if they faked this earlier for b -roll who's
- 5:44to say that they aren't faking it for the real
- 5:47investigation like but i don't understand why
- 5:50people would think that because people who do
- 5:52do those reenactments or whatever just for their
- 5:57film or video or whatever that's a creative thing
- 6:03yeah like exactly more entertaining and interactive
- 6:08gives a better visual like your goal like for
- 6:13our goal is to more creative type of create a
- 6:17storyline creative story creative outlook good
- 6:20visuals whatever We want the story. So we're
- 6:24going to naturally do those reenactments, you
- 6:32know? And that's what we do. So I don't understand
- 6:36why people would have an issue with that when
- 6:38that's what some people's style is. I feel like
- 6:42the thing is that it's kind of like one of those
- 6:50Oh. um i know it's fake but what if there's some
- 6:56people who don't know it's fake like you you
- 6:59know that sort of thing like there's people who
- 7:02are playing devil's advocate when there's nobody
- 7:04to play devil's advocate for everyone knows it's
- 7:07a reenactment but you're gonna get those people
- 7:10who are like What if someone doesn't get a reenactment?
- 7:14What if they think that's real and everything
- 7:15that you're doing is real? Basically, that means
- 7:20those people are plain stupid. I don't know what
- 7:22else to say. Historically, you used to have to
- 7:26put reenactment in the bottom corner of the screen.
- 7:30People moved away from that. I'm not saying that's
- 7:33how I feel. I fully am in the camp of... You
- 7:37know, I always think story takes precedent and
- 7:40I would rather not have something on camera,
- 7:43but have a real story to share and do whatever
- 7:47it takes to get that story out. Yeah, because,
- 7:50well, when you think about it, too, I mean, yes,
- 7:53there is always the potential that, oh, we're
- 7:55going to. like we'll catch the door moving or
- 7:58oh we'll catch a shadow but the likelihood that
- 8:01that is actually going to happen on our investigations
- 8:04like it is actually so rare to catch like visual
- 8:10evidence so to have that concern that we're doing
- 8:17b -roll that people could think is Like, us trying
- 8:22to actually fake real evidence is kind of, like...
- 8:25You know, like, out of our realm, because...
- 8:31Or not even out of our realm, but, like, it's
- 8:34so low of a chance that that isn't actually going
- 8:36to occur. And that's also, like, why we would
- 8:39do B -roll. Because if we do say, catch the door
- 8:44closing, we're just going to use that video of
- 8:49it closing. I mean, we don't really catch evidence.
- 8:55I mean, really, if you think about it, like there's
- 8:57nothing to even fake because like we don't catch
- 9:00stuff. None of the stuff we do relies on evidence.
- 9:03It relies on a story. Yeah. And I really don't
- 9:07think when we're making films. Are we what's
- 9:10the goal? Is it to tell a story or to prove ghosts?
- 9:14Because nothing we do. especially as packaged
- 9:18and presented, is proving a ghost. Yeah, true.
- 9:22A lot of the stuff that we do is not like the
- 9:26typical Ghost Hunter TV shows where we're going
- 9:29to a specific location, it's a lockdown for a
- 9:32whole night, and we're collecting evidence. All
- 9:34of the stuff that we do is documentaries looking
- 9:38at further beyond just the investigation. Yeah,
- 9:42we like to try to find, we like to look at the
- 9:45bigger picture yeah you know it's like we might
- 9:49go to a location and we might film part of it
- 9:52but we're not going to make a whole video just
- 9:54on that location but there may come a day where
- 9:58we use those that those clips or videos from
- 10:04that specific location to add to a bigger story
- 10:07of ours exactly yeah so so long as the hard drive
- 10:11doesn't die like that's a lot for the possession
- 10:14tape we used a bunch of different clips and videos
- 10:17from yeah that was i mean that was eight years
- 10:21of collected different clips from different locations
- 10:26um but yeah so i guess we're kind of getting
- 10:32yeah no i mean the track now but that kind of
- 10:34goes in what i was like saying about the accumulation
- 10:36like i don't think any one investigation ever
- 10:38is gonna like like if the door did open to go
- 10:41back to that one door opening one time doesn't
- 10:44prove anything so like yeah i mean maybe semantics
- 10:48but that's calling it evidence that's not evidence
- 10:50of anything it's just evidence of a door opening
- 10:52it's the accumulation right so like if that door
- 10:55did open that would be part of the story not
- 10:57part of i mean it would be kind of logged but
- 11:01like it's not evidence of anything but anyways
- 11:03i think it comes this argument when it comes
- 11:05to reenactments comes down to building trust
- 11:09and um there's people take for granted i think
- 11:14with the paranormal um there is you're asking
- 11:18a lot of the audience to believe especially when
- 11:22you because that's difficult when we kind of
- 11:24integrate some more woo -woo and esoteric stuff
- 11:29that's not so mainstream i feel like the paranormal
- 11:32a lot of it is very trendy and the reason some
- 11:38people are able to get away with not explaining
- 11:40anything like picture like all the new variations
- 11:44of the rempods and the new spirit bells and all
- 11:47this stuff they don't explain what any of these
- 11:49stuff are is this they're sam and colby people
- 11:51just assume that they're authentic but then if
- 11:56You're someone that has no following and you're
- 11:58super legit and super genuine, but you just say,
- 12:02I built this thing. No one cares. If people don't
- 12:05see it on Sam and Colby, they don't trust. They
- 12:07don't trust it. People take for granted how difficult
- 12:11it is to not build an audience because you can
- 12:14get a bunch of views easy, but to build trust
- 12:18and for people to trust that everything you're
- 12:20putting out is as you say it is. yeah yeah i
- 12:24mean that's gonna be up to people there's gonna
- 12:26be people who don't trust you there's gonna be
- 12:29people who don't like you and they're gonna say
- 12:34no matter what oh they're faking this thing these
- 12:37things but i mean that's just how it is you just
- 12:41you gotta put your trust in people and hope that
- 12:45people believe what we actually do is genuine
- 12:49you know yeah And there's nothing else more we
- 12:53can do about it, you know? For me, it comes back
- 12:57to, because this is common for, like, documentaries
- 13:00as a whole, not just paranormal. Like, people
- 13:02question the ethics of, like, if you don't get
- 13:05it on camera, can you reenact it or, like, retrace
- 13:08your footsteps? And it's just like, eh, the camera
- 13:10people are intervening. That's not what documentaries
- 13:12should be. But the true definition of a documentary,
- 13:15as it's taught, you know, I have a degree in
- 13:18documentary filmmaking. It's taught to be the...
- 13:23artistic representation of reality. So already
- 13:29being there with a camera and a crew is going
- 13:33to affect reality. People act differently in
- 13:36front of cameras. We all know that. It's hard
- 13:40to catch the real reality of things when you
- 13:42have a camera. So it's already a literal paranormal
- 13:47lens that you're putting. to name drop a particular
- 13:54podcast that I have a love -hate relationship
- 13:56with. I've never listened to it. I should check
- 13:59it out sometime. Oh, you love it. Check out episode
- 14:0216. But anyways, you're already with a camera
- 14:10filtering through a lens and you are using a
- 14:16lot of hindsight, which is another thing people...
- 14:19Love to do in the paranormal hindsight bias.
- 14:21When you're crafting a story, there's a lot of
- 14:24hindsight. There's a lot of cherry picking moments
- 14:27to show a representation of the truth. It is
- 14:33the truth, but it's still a representation of
- 14:36the truth. And I tend to lean more in the camp
- 14:39of if you're already this far removed from reality
- 14:43and it's a representation of reality, it's an
- 14:45honest representation of reality. it it speaks
- 14:49to the truth and it represents the truth but
- 14:53nothing a documentary ever will portray is the
- 14:57full unanimous objective reality as it stands
- 15:03or was before you came there to make it so lean
- 15:08into the artfulness of it too because it should
- 15:10be artful it should be entertaining so long as
- 15:12it speaks to the reality of the situation and
- 15:15if the reality of the situation is that door
- 15:17opens you can film it opening in whatever way
- 15:21you want because that speaks to the reality of
- 15:23the situation that's just my two cents yeah yeah
- 15:27now another thing in the paranormal is and brie
- 15:32you kind of mentioned this too that like horror
- 15:35movies when they film they say a lot happens
- 15:38yeah let's say there are ghosts let's just suspend
- 15:42disbelief and assume there are intelligent hauntings
- 15:45i mean we all know how we feel about intelligent
- 15:49hauntings so maybe it's just me that needs to
- 15:51suspend disbelief here but let's say there's
- 15:54a ghost that's aware of its surroundings and
- 15:57it was a uh mike that got shot in the head and
- 16:02bled out to death And you want to do a reenactment
- 16:05of Mike. You found his old photo. You get a guy
- 16:07that looks just like him. And you film him bleeding
- 16:10out. You know, all fake, of course. Bleeding
- 16:12out on the floor, screaming in agony for an hour.
- 16:17How might Mike, the real ghost, feel seeing people
- 16:22coming in, reenacting his death right in front
- 16:27of him? And he's saying, no! And no one's hearing.
- 16:33real mike yeah i um i when you you brought up
- 16:40the topic that it was what i was originally thinking
- 16:43about we what we were going to talk about and
- 16:45it's it is a really interesting concept that
- 16:48i think one if you're doing reenactments in that
- 16:55same space enacting it out and then following
- 17:00it up with an investigation there is that strong
- 17:03potential that it could can stir up activity
- 17:06but also at the same time on the other hand it's
- 17:10like a double -edged sword because is that disrespectful
- 17:13to those spirits like having to watch a reenactment
- 17:18of their death or a terrible time in their life
- 17:21or whatever it is that happened um and i know
- 17:26i've seen it done on like shows and movies and
- 17:31whatever not like in a mainstream cinema or media
- 17:38where they're creating a movie or a tv show based
- 17:42on the event i feel like that's different because
- 17:45they don't usually do those kinds of recordings
- 17:48on location it's on set it's in a different place
- 17:52but with that it probably stirs up some sort
- 17:59of energy in that in that interest yeah well
- 18:03no no not necessarily like spiritual energy oh
- 18:06i was i'm for my mind i know what you mean but
- 18:09my mind went towards like you know the new like
- 18:11ed gein show or whatever everyone another callback
- 18:14to a previous episode everyone's like on their
- 18:16spirit boxes on tiktok trying to talk to ed gein's
- 18:18ghost because it's like trendy so maybe if like
- 18:22his ghost was like hibernating or whatever like
- 18:25public interest even if it wasn't shot on location
- 18:28yeah i don't know um back to what i was saying
- 18:32because i was talking about cinema on not on
- 18:37location but on set i feel like that's a lot
- 18:40different from doing it on location because like
- 18:44that is the potential that there is that if we're
- 18:50believing in intelligent hauntings and that person
- 18:52or individual is there, is watching that reenactment.
- 18:56And I feel like, say, it's you rewatching the
- 19:04worst day of your life. Like, how would you feel
- 19:07after that? Well, what I'm wondering is, you
- 19:11ever hear of... um people's real life um stories
- 19:16about when they die then they get the glimpse
- 19:19of like afterlife or whatever they see their
- 19:21bodies from above and like almost every single
- 19:25person who has experienced something like that
- 19:28say that they don't care about their body anymore
- 19:34nothing about um what their life was doesn't
- 19:39matter to them anymore nothing else matters except
- 19:42for you like nothing nothing about what they
- 19:45have lived matters so if that's like the case
- 19:49and they see someone reenacting what their death
- 19:52was i wonder if they would really care you know
- 19:55if that if that is true how people describe it
- 19:58saying like they don't care about their body
- 20:00they don't care about what happens to their bodies
- 20:02they don't care um about anything that has happened
- 20:07to them during their lifetimes would they really
- 20:10care about someone reenacting their death you
- 20:14know then why why would they talk to a 20 year
- 20:18old ghost hunter asking them about their life
- 20:20100 years later but that also goes into okay
- 20:26well if there is like a ghost and they're still
- 20:29stuck on earth or whatever or not fully into
- 20:33the afterlife or whatever then maybe that's a
- 20:36whole different yeah it's a kind of i was just
- 20:40You know thinking out loud about. It's a can
- 20:42of wham. Can of wham about intelligent hauntings.
- 20:45You know. Don't sound so intelligent. Of an idea
- 20:50now. That I'm poking more holes. Into the intelligent
- 20:53hauntings. But anyways. Another thing I was thinking
- 20:56of. Like just now. Is could. Doing a reenactment.
- 21:02Stir up activity. Just on the basis of. Like
- 21:06it sets your intentions. And like if you know.
- 21:10the history so well enough to execute like a
- 21:13full -on spot on re reenactment like you're in
- 21:17the perfect headspace to investigate because
- 21:19you know the history so well that you literally
- 21:21recreated and were able to like reconstruct right
- 21:25down to like the exact you know spot on the floor
- 21:28where the person died and period dress and everything
- 21:31it's like I feel like when it comes to reenactment,
- 21:35if you're doing that sort of reenactment where
- 21:38you were doing it to the time, to the day, whatever
- 21:43exact positions, recreating the exact moment,
- 21:48whether you're doing it for B -roll or you're
- 21:51doing it for trying to stir up activity, I think
- 21:56that is more of a tool to try to investigate.
- 22:02residual energy because you were recreating that
- 22:05moment in time and we're inherently putting this
- 22:11energy out there of creating this moment where
- 22:15there was a lot of energy a lot of things happened
- 22:17someone died potentially and who's to say that
- 22:24isn't going to pull out or draw or shift that
- 22:28energy from that time frame And that is why you
- 22:32get an influx of activity after it. Potentially.
- 22:38I don't know. I don't think we've ever tried
- 22:40doing reenactments. Or if there's any evidence
- 22:45behind an influx of activity after reenactments.
- 22:49But that is the theory. Okay, wait, wait. I have
- 22:55an idea. Okay. I guess now we're going to hold
- 22:59this episode until after Remote Contact comes
- 23:01out, but what if we utilized the sights and sounds
- 23:09of locations we investigated on the anniversary
- 23:13of when we got the 360 captures of locations?
- 23:18Do we go back to the very minute and try to communicate
- 23:22with the ghosts that led us there? That's what's
- 23:27missing from the reenactments is the ambiance.
- 23:31You can get the period dress. You can make it
- 23:38look right, but it's not going to sound right.
- 23:40We have all this 5 .1 stereo. What if we even
- 23:43just pull that audio and blast it through the
- 23:47speakers? This is something I was trying to explain
- 23:49during some of the interviews. remote contact
- 23:55is when i did the the oculus session of the um
- 24:03residence chamber lauren gave me permission to
- 24:07do a 360 scan of her chamber and i later took
- 24:11it to other locations to go back in that specific
- 24:14residence chamber i amplified the white noise
- 24:16of madison seminary and it's hard to explain
- 24:19why it is but it is true White noise from Madison
- 24:24seminary sounds different than white noise from
- 24:27Simpson hospital. Let's say like, you can't really
- 24:29tell, but you can tell. So what if we like pull
- 24:32some of this data, even this five, one stereo
- 24:36white noise and blast it to really up the natural
- 24:43white noise, not just of the location as it is
- 24:46now, but this is how it was from a year ago or
- 24:49two years ago, three years ago to this very day.
- 24:53Putting us back a couple years to see what it
- 24:57sounded like then. And then we can rebuild and
- 25:00retrace. Oh, we were really in the, keeping with
- 25:04Madison Seminary, we were really in the zone.
- 25:07We filmed this at MadCon. We were talking with
- 25:10the ghost of Sarah. Let's tap back into that
- 25:13conversation. Yeah. Let's blast what it sounded
- 25:17like at that time. Let's wear the same clothes.
- 25:20Let's... If we can do this on a micro level,
- 25:23it might be able to prove on a macro level that,
- 25:26you know, we can go back and communicate with
- 25:29what we were talking to a year ago, two years
- 25:32ago, three years ago, to the exact minute. Who's
- 25:35to say that can't be extrapolated 100 years out?
- 25:39Yeah. Yeah, that would be interesting. I'm coming
- 25:43up with this on the spot, so it's not really,
- 25:45like, articulated well. This is how we brainstorm,
- 25:50ladies and gentlemen. This is what a typical
- 25:51brainstorming session sounds like. So you're
- 25:54eavesdropping. Yeah. Anyways, I derailed this.
- 26:02Anything? Yeah, good. I like it. Nothing wrong
- 26:07with a... I was going to say, there's nothing
- 26:10wrong with derailing a conversation, but I should
- 26:13not say that because we do go on tangents. I
- 26:19have nothing to do with the topic, but this kind
- 26:22of had to do with the topic. We used to just,
- 26:24you know, be more stream of conscious. You've
- 26:28really tried to focus the podcast these days
- 26:32on keeping within the paranormal lens. Yeah.
- 26:36Yeah. Hey, all the November fans, you might remember
- 26:42the old days. Maybe. Maybe. You never know. Thanks
- 26:50for being such great fans. If we have any. If
- 26:56we have any. We do. I don't know about that,
- 27:02but that'd be cool. We do. How many listeners
- 27:07do we have on our episodes? We have a good number.
- 27:13If you're listening and you want to boost Angela's
- 27:16morale, she doesn't think she has any fans, drop
- 27:20a comment that says, Hey, Angela, I'm your biggest
- 27:24fan. And then you guys can duke it out in the
- 27:28comments. Duke it up. Fight for her affection.
- 27:32I've been duking it out with people in Ben's
- 27:34comments on TikTok lately. Yeah, we get a lot
- 27:36of the sorry comments. I don't know if anyone
- 27:39on TikTok gets those where they're just like,
- 27:42sorry, and then Angela's just gone in and said,
- 27:44not sorry. It keeps her entertained, so I don't
- 27:48complain. Or there was someone who said, I rebuke
- 27:51all negative energy in the name of Jesus Christ.
- 27:54And I'm like, I'm not sorry. I claim all negative
- 27:57energy. I'm waiting for the day someone actually
- 28:02comments back on my... comment yeah i don't know
- 28:08it's it's wild that like nothing that you even
- 28:12post on tick tock is remotely like scary or uns
- 28:18i mean not really unsettling in any way it's
- 28:21they're just people who think anything paranormal
- 28:24wise is evil you know it's just wild yeah people
- 28:31be cray cray sometimes talking about evil i this
- 28:36this come this law it came up even i know no
- 28:40one would ever do this and realize unless someone's
- 28:42like a total psycho wacko sociopath where are
- 28:48we going with this you'll you'll see you know
- 28:51talking about reenactments yeah i wonder what
- 28:54kind of um like if you do a reenactment of someone
- 28:57who got murdered at like a haunted place or whatever
- 29:01You go into the haunted place and actually kill
- 29:03someone. I wonder what kind of activity you would
- 29:06get. Oh, Ben's gone. Ben left the chat. I knew
- 29:18exactly where you were going. I knew exactly
- 29:22where you were going with that as soon as you
- 29:25finished what you were saying about like... I'm
- 29:31so done with this fucking podcast, man. That
- 29:34was... Nobody get any ideas. You were this close
- 29:40to having a whole bunch of fans. This is what
- 29:42I'm saying. This will probably never happen because
- 29:46no one's ever going to do this experiment unless
- 29:48you're evil or you're a plain fucking psycho.
- 29:52No one is ever going to figure out what kind
- 29:54of activity or evidence someone could get by
- 29:57reenacting someone's murder by actually murdering
- 30:01someone the same way. Why do I live with you?
- 30:04I'm so scared. It's not going to happen. It's
- 30:10just a thought. Just a thought. There wasn't
- 30:12anyone murdered in your guys' apartment previously,
- 30:15was there? Otherwise, I would be concerned. I'd
- 30:18have to check. I mean, it's haunted as hell.
- 30:21Do they have to disclose that information to
- 30:23us if that does happen? I don't know, man. I'm
- 30:30going to the leasing office tomorrow to ask if
- 30:33our specific apartment anyone's... Well, that
- 30:36one time where I woke up screaming from the dweller
- 30:41dream and everyone thought I got murdered, they
- 30:44didn't say like, oh, phew, not another one. That's
- 30:50fair. Oh my goodness. So, um, don't go out and
- 30:57murder people at locations where people have
- 31:01been murdered and it's haunted. We are not encouraging
- 31:05this. Do not do this. I have a paradoxical question.
- 31:11If you do this where you murder someone for the
- 31:16sake of a reenactment can you even still call
- 31:18it a reenactment since it's still well yeah it
- 31:23would still be a reenactment because it's not
- 31:25it's not the same people it's not the same yeah
- 31:28but it would be more decept uh deceiving in this
- 31:32case to put this is a reenactment in the bottom
- 31:34corner of the screen because you're showing a
- 31:38real murder on camera It would probably be a
- 31:43privately enclosed experiment that they wouldn't
- 31:49tell anyone or put it out to the public. Yeah,
- 31:51that's self -incriminating. It would be their
- 31:53own secret. So it's not even like a reenactment.
- 31:57Unless they're willing to sacrifice their life
- 31:58and go to jail for the rest of your life just
- 32:00for knowledge and maybe. I mean, you can reenact
- 32:02things and not film them. Yeah. I feel like if
- 32:07you're doing this to prove a ghost. Wouldn't
- 32:09you be contaminating the controlled environment
- 32:12by creating a new ghost to try to find the old
- 32:16ghost? Well, what if the person who is murdered
- 32:21is doing it willingly for the reenactment, and
- 32:25then they don't end up becoming a ghost? How
- 32:28about we move on from this topic? That's a good
- 32:30idea. Yeah. Let's go somewhere else with this.
- 32:32I don't want to be responsible for anyone doing
- 32:34this. Yeah. I feel like I have to put, like,
- 32:37a legal disclaimer in the description of this.
- 32:41I mean, I already stated that we are not saying
- 32:43you should - you do not go - do not do this.
- 32:46I already said that. So, I feel like that's a
- 32:49disclaimer enough. The other - the other thing
- 32:51about, like, reenactments, I mean, we've been
- 32:54talking a lot about, like, reenacting someone's
- 32:57death, but, like, it can also be as simple as,
- 33:00like, reenacting, like, we've gone - we've gone
- 33:05to howell opera house we've like done um played
- 33:09music or like whatever when we've been there
- 33:13reenacting like what would have been going on
- 33:15in the opera house while investigating i don't
- 33:19know if we ever got anything like drummed up
- 33:23with doing that i didn't didn't you sing opera
- 33:27because you're a singer right used to know how
- 33:31to do opera music Yeah, I used to sing opera
- 33:36music. What's an example? I don't think I have
- 33:40any of this footage still, so I'm trying to just
- 33:42for the audio listeners, what did this sound
- 33:45like? Can you reenact? I'm not. No. Hey, hey,
- 33:50hey. Pause the podcast for a sec. Bree, this
- 33:53is an episode about reenactments. It would be
- 33:55really helpful to at least include one reenactment.
- 33:59No. Mm -mm. So we... It's a hard no for her.
- 34:06Hard no. We entertained the whole murdering someone
- 34:10idea, but singing is now bad. I'm not singing
- 34:15on the podcast. No, no, it's for a reenactment
- 34:18to make it seem like it was from last time where
- 34:21you did it on camera, but I just don't have it.
- 34:26It's a reenactment. Also, I haven't seen opera
- 34:29in like... six years. I really can't anymore.
- 34:35Was that your swan song at the Howl Opera House
- 34:37the last time you sang opera? Yeah, honestly,
- 34:41probably. Oh. And you don't want to reenact your
- 34:45last time singing so that we can commemorate
- 34:49the moment? No, we can't have Bree damage her
- 34:51vocal cords. It's the end of the podcast. Yeah.
- 34:55Hard no. Let's move on. Alright. Welcome back
- 35:03to Paranormal Lens. Thanks for sticking with
- 35:05our little pause right there. You didn't miss
- 35:10anything. You're so funny. I'm leaving a gap
- 35:17here just in case you change your mind. Yeah,
- 35:20I'm not changing my mind. Okay. Any final thoughts
- 35:22on reenactments? Man, it would have been great
- 35:25if we had one to kind of end this episode on
- 35:27as an auditory. I could reenact the terrible
- 35:31jokes that you did on the stage of the Howell
- 35:34Opera House because you also did that. Oh, I
- 35:36tried doing a stand -up routine. Yeah, you're
- 35:38like, I'm going to do stand -up comedy on the
- 35:40stage. And I'm like, sure, Ben, you go for that.
- 35:44Because that's something that happened in the
- 35:46Howell Opera House when it was functioning in
- 35:49the early 1900s. And you know what? That experiment
- 35:53didn't work at all because the whole point was
- 35:57to hear some ghost laughter. And no one laughed.
- 36:00There was nobody laughing. Yeah, so it didn't
- 36:03work. We didn't... But then again, no one clapped
- 36:08for your glorious opera singing that no one has
- 36:12any evidence of. I'm sorry, Brie. There wasn't
- 36:16supposed to be a competition between who told
- 36:18funnier jokes or sang better. At least I put
- 36:21myself out there and put my failing jokes on
- 36:24the internet and there's no evidence of this
- 36:26swan song. operatic performance of yours so you
- 36:31know who's the winner at the end of the day it's
- 36:32hard to tell at least you have the memories and
- 36:35i have the hate comments saying i'm not funny
- 36:38you know i'm supposed to put in like a cricket
- 36:42yes cricket sound cricket sounds yep this is
- 36:48embarrassing Thanks for listening to this week's
- 36:53episode of Paranormal Lens. If you liked what
- 36:55you heard, every five -star rating and positive
