Latest / Stay Outta My Fridge / Concession Stand Chronicles and Gout: The Unseen Struggle
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: We did it. We're back.
- 0:01Speaker 2: What's up? Everybody to stay out of my fridge? And
- 0:04Speaker 2: I can't wait to get into my fridge because I
- 0:07Speaker 2: am hungry and HRUs you're hearing it's me as mad
- 0:09Speaker 2: as beer I was, and joining me as always says,
- 0:11Speaker 2: you've been whatcking off? What's up, dude?
- 0:14Speaker 3: Not much, man, I just want to get into your
- 0:16Speaker 3: meat drawer.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Oh, we just stocked up on some fridge. There might
- 0:20Speaker 2: be meat, lots of lunchables. Kids are digging it, just
- 0:23Speaker 2: like the you been DAYA. And hopefully Brandon's gonna jump
- 0:27Speaker 2: in the middle of recording. So if you're watching this
- 0:29Speaker 2: the beginning and then you get to the end of
- 0:30Speaker 2: these there, hopefully he does jump in. We're recording at
- 0:32Speaker 2: a weird little time because it turns out that we
- 0:35Speaker 2: and by we mean you've been spending a lot of
- 0:37Speaker 2: time in different gyms not working out. It's because the
- 0:40Speaker 2: kids are very active. He had some archery one day,
- 0:45Speaker 2: a little basketball the next day, and he was talking
- 0:47Speaker 2: about how excited he was a kid's finally starting to
- 0:51Speaker 2: let those shots fly.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Yes, yes, it's exciting, like they uh putting a little
- 0:56Speaker 3: bit of effort in. It's always fun to see your
- 0:57Speaker 3: kid out there. And sometimes you think they brag a
- 1:01Speaker 3: little bit about practice, and it's good to see that
- 1:04Speaker 3: what they're talking about is actually it's working a little bit.
- 1:07Speaker 3: So having popcorn again at nine forty five in the morning,
- 1:11Speaker 3: though I don't really, I don't understand it, but it
- 1:14Speaker 3: just works. It really it works. And you put a
- 1:17Speaker 3: little bit of peanut butter, M and MS in there.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Oh why have gout?
- 1:21Speaker 2: That is potentially why the gout? Yep. I set out
- 1:25Speaker 2: to the people just struggling every day with the gout.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I've had a bad case of the gout once and
- 1:31Speaker 2: I always thought it was a joke because I had
- 1:32Speaker 2: some coaches that did and I had just known it
- 1:34Speaker 2: was probably from the booze from then. And then the
- 1:36Speaker 2: first time I got it, I said, well, that is
- 1:38Speaker 2: what Taylor Swift sings about in Karma. I got it.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It sucks, it is uh.
- 1:45Speaker 3: I think I went about five months without it. I
- 1:50Speaker 3: was like, man, I think I finally got under control.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Had steak forgot my medicine twice. I even told I
- 1:59Speaker 3: was you know, we mean in this backstage, but I
- 2:01Speaker 3: mentioned I was like, hey, I almost made it three
- 2:03Speaker 3: weeks with taking my medicine every single day without missing,
- 2:08Speaker 3: And for some reason we had another snow day on Friday,
- 2:12Speaker 3: went outside, had fun, completely forgot Saturday. I remembered, but
- 2:19Speaker 3: about like eight thirty at night. So I practically missed
- 2:24Speaker 3: two days. And now my toe is like, hey, do
- 2:26Speaker 3: you want to be cut off? And there's some loppers
- 2:29Speaker 3: talking to me. They're hanging outside into this door, probably about.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Fifteen feet away.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Do you call it, Sindy, I'll call.
- 2:37Speaker 3: It whatever the hell it is. I don't call it whatever.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I just like Cindy, Am I missing something?
- 2:42Speaker 1: Oh?
- 2:42Speaker 3: Hold on, it's over my head. Explain it to me.
- 2:47Speaker 2: There's so many people on the internet. There's women out
- 2:50Speaker 2: there that allegedly said that they would rather give would
- 2:53Speaker 2: you say, give birth without an epidural than have gout?
- 2:56Speaker 3: Oh? Yes, yes, Apparently there is individuals who say that
- 3:03Speaker 3: it is more painful to have gout than experienced childbirth.
- 3:07Speaker 3: And a lot of people assume that as a man
- 3:11Speaker 3: behind those comments, who just trying to validate their gout symptoms,
- 3:15Speaker 3: is it me?
- 3:15Speaker 1: No?
- 3:16Speaker 3: I will not take credit for that whatsoever. I'm not
- 3:18Speaker 3: that creative. I don't want to create another email address.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Too much work it is a lot, especially when you
- 3:23Speaker 2: have several is.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Man.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah. But with that being said, we kind of we're
- 3:31Speaker 2: thinking scientists, you know, we're thinking scientists, and we were
- 3:34Speaker 2: trying to say, all right, we got the gout, we
- 3:37Speaker 2: got the toe, and if you keep looking down. He
- 3:39Speaker 2: continually looked down at his toe, now that he needs
- 3:41Speaker 2: to make sure it's still there. But when you have
- 3:43Speaker 2: gout sometimes it feels like it could explode off. And
- 3:45Speaker 2: he's like, I got hair in my toes, which I
- 3:47Speaker 2: do too, and we were like, is it a knuckle?
- 3:51Speaker 1: Is?
- 3:52Speaker 2: Like, what do they call the hair on that? And
- 3:54Speaker 2: we're curious, what did you You came up with a
- 3:56Speaker 2: coin that a term for?
- 3:58Speaker 3: Right? Was it a tuckle?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Tuckle?
- 4:01Speaker 3: I don't know, because you know it's they each have nails.
- 4:05Speaker 3: There's a finger nail and a toenail. So but you
- 4:10Speaker 3: don't call it a finger knuckle?
- 4:13Speaker 2: Hmm, Yeah, I don't know.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Well, I looked it up real quick, and it's a
- 4:21Speaker 2: scientific word that is probably eat just as hard to
- 4:24Speaker 2: say as the kicker for the Texans, who turns out
- 4:26Speaker 2: did not miss three kicks, which sucks, but it's a
- 4:31Speaker 2: metaterosiphalangel joint. I think we go with knuckle. I mean
- 4:40Speaker 2: there they're pretty much the same. I think people refer
- 4:42Speaker 2: to it as a tone knuckle, but I like tuckle.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I like the tuckle too. I mean it's because you
- 4:50Speaker 3: can pop it, right, I mean.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Just like a regular knuckle, true, which I believe when
- 4:58Speaker 2: you when you just crack them, it's it's like built
- 5:00Speaker 2: up gases in the body is what causes the I
- 5:05Speaker 2: think we look that up one time. You know, we're
- 5:06Speaker 2: pretty much a science educational show and uh Bill, Bill nah,
- 5:12Speaker 2: this science guy. I don't know, my brain's going in
- 5:14Speaker 2: a different direction because you were talking about popcorn and
- 5:16Speaker 2: then throwing some m and ms. So we spent a
- 5:18Speaker 2: lot of time in gym's. Is there is there, like
- 5:21Speaker 2: not a place, but I guess it's something different or
- 5:24Speaker 2: just one place that you're super excited because you get
- 5:26Speaker 2: to hit up the concession stand. Because for me, when
- 5:29Speaker 2: the oldest was playing in the championship games, there was
- 5:32Speaker 2: a place over at the Potsdam that pots Same high
- 5:35Speaker 2: school they hosted the soccer kind of championships and everything.
- 5:38Speaker 2: They got one of those nice kind of central locations
- 5:41Speaker 2: for all the you know in the county. It's a
- 5:43Speaker 2: pretty big county, so there's there's you know, kind of
- 5:46Speaker 2: central so this place doesn't have to drive two hours
- 5:49Speaker 2: to this neutral field, and this place drives ten minutes,
- 5:52Speaker 2: so it's a little bit of drive for everybody. But
- 5:53Speaker 2: their concession stand was so god damn cheap. I think
- 5:57Speaker 2: I went up there for like six seven bucks and
- 5:59Speaker 2: got so much I was like, oh, like truly, I
- 6:02Speaker 2: think they charged like a buck for a water, which
- 6:03Speaker 2: I think is reasonable. I think they charged like two
- 6:06Speaker 2: bucks or a buck for a whole bag of popcorn,
- 6:09Speaker 2: twenty five cents for a sucker, and I was like,
- 6:11Speaker 2: that's pretty good. But a lot of these concession stands, man,
- 6:14Speaker 2: Like we recent we just ran a tournament. And one
- 6:18Speaker 2: of the coolest things that one of their parents wanted
- 6:19Speaker 2: to do is with those walking tacos. Such a huge
- 6:22Speaker 2: hit man. They just opened a bag of doritos, throwing
- 6:25Speaker 2: some meat, throwing some cheese, throwing some whatever topings they
- 6:27Speaker 2: want in the buffet style. They killed him. Beautiful thing.
- 6:32Speaker 3: That's uh. I love the walking taco. That is a
- 6:35Speaker 3: top tier concession stand item. And so like the place
- 6:39Speaker 3: that we went to today, I love their concession stand
- 6:42Speaker 3: I thoroughly enjoy They're like top like as soon as
- 6:46Speaker 3: I know that we're having a tournament there, I'm like, yes,
- 6:48Speaker 3: but their drawback no cell reception and but I don't understand.
- 6:55Speaker 3: And I was going to ask you if this is
- 6:56Speaker 3: like a a thing as well Wi Fi at other schools,
- 7:02Speaker 3: is it usually customary to share the Wi Fi or
- 7:06Speaker 3: do they gate keep it like this place as well.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Yeah, they usually lock it down with a password, mainly
- 7:12Speaker 2: because for schools, and they allow it, then you have
- 7:15Speaker 2: all the kids that can just jump on free Wi Fi,
- 7:18Speaker 2: and I think it opens the door for even younger kids.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Some of the younger kids have Wi Fi only phones,
- 7:23Speaker 2: so if they get them into school and stuff like that.
- 7:25Speaker 2: But yeah, I know typically you want to keep and
- 7:28Speaker 2: being a guy that had did some network and we
- 7:29Speaker 2: always lock down our public or our guests wireless as well,
- 7:33Speaker 2: because if somebody does know what they're doing, they were
- 7:35Speaker 2: to get on and say an open sourced public, they're
- 7:38Speaker 2: still kind of most of the places, they're still on
- 7:40Speaker 2: the same network and can eventually jump to it. So
- 7:44Speaker 2: it's a gateway for someone that potentially could hack your stuff.
- 7:47Speaker 2: But yeah, it's usually there, but most of the time
- 7:50Speaker 2: it's kind of publicized, like, hey, if you want to
- 7:52Speaker 2: get on our network, here's the thing. I mean, for
- 7:55Speaker 2: me being an IT guy, I would kind of want
- 7:57Speaker 2: to be or a host, a good person to just
- 8:00Speaker 2: be like, all right, it's not that hard to change it,
- 8:03Speaker 2: to just be like, hey, the password this weekend for
- 8:05Speaker 2: the tournament is, and then if you're that worried about it,
- 8:08Speaker 2: just change it. Yeah.
- 8:10Speaker 3: See, So that's I understand having a password for it.
- 8:14Speaker 3: And it's like I went up to the lady doing
- 8:17Speaker 3: the ticket to get in, and I even asked the
- 8:22Speaker 3: vendors at the concession stand and everything. I was like, hey, yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 3: you know past you know what, do you guys know
- 8:27Speaker 3: what the password is? Every single time they're like, oh, sorry,
- 8:29Speaker 3: we we can't get that out. You would have to
- 8:31Speaker 3: ask one of the coaches you know what the password is?
- 8:34Speaker 3: And I'm like huh and they're like, yeah, we don't
- 8:38Speaker 3: give that out. And I was like, it says visitor
- 8:41Speaker 3: on here. I'm a visitor. Is there like perhaps a
- 8:45Speaker 3: password for this? And They're like not not for this tournament, no,
- 8:49Speaker 3: And I'm like, what the So there is no connection
- 8:53Speaker 3: to the outside world. Whatsoever. So I have to be
- 8:55Speaker 3: a parent with that internet, which I know sounds awful.
- 8:59Speaker 2: But everybody that's listening right now is going, especially when
- 9:03Speaker 2: you have younger kids and the entire family is that
- 9:06Speaker 2: said tournament.
- 9:07Speaker 3: It's it's a little rough, but that's why we bring
- 9:09Speaker 3: coloring books, snacks, we or you know, we've been sneaking
- 9:13Speaker 3: a little bit of our own cold fish and everything else,
- 9:15Speaker 3: you know, to appease the creature.
- 9:17Speaker 1: That is.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I thought you said cold fish. I'm like, you're bringing
- 9:20Speaker 2: no wonder why you have gout. You're bringing your own
- 9:22Speaker 2: seafood into this tournament.
- 9:24Speaker 1: That is some boogie.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Never know, but like, like, you're bringing sushi your cold fish.
- 9:31Speaker 2: You call sushi coldfish goldfish.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I got some goldfish crackers. He's uh and for some reason,
- 9:37Speaker 3: the multi colored ones taste the best. I don't understand it.
- 9:42Speaker 3: He's got a little touch of the tism like his dad, apparently, I.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Don't understand it.
- 9:46Speaker 3: These uh, these jeans run strong like eys. But the
- 9:52Speaker 3: this concession stand has, especially since the tournament starts in
- 9:55Speaker 3: the morning. They have biscuits, and the biscuits and gravy
- 10:00Speaker 3: what And I'm like, oh snap, I didn't even get it,
- 10:03Speaker 3: but I like seeing it. I'm like, okay, the price
- 10:05Speaker 3: three fifty and I'm like, not even that bad.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Okay, pretty good sized biscuit.
- 10:10Speaker 3: So yeah, and that's the thing is it was I
- 10:12Speaker 3: would say, yeah, big, you know what I mean?
- 10:16Speaker 2: So it was remedy. That's just listening. That's probably what
- 10:19Speaker 2: baseball size, baseball size biscuit.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:21Speaker 3: But the thing is though there was four, so it
- 10:23Speaker 3: was it was two biscuits split. So it's business and
- 10:26Speaker 3: it was biscuits. I can't say it never B and
- 10:29Speaker 3: G Yeah for cotton Mouth is what it is. You
- 10:32Speaker 3: know those old rippies right before it doing a number and.
- 10:36Speaker 1: That word road ads, road ads.
- 10:44Speaker 2: So is that a big like because you guys are
- 10:46Speaker 2: what considered the Midwest?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah, absolutely so?
- 10:49Speaker 2: Is that is that? That's a big Midwest thing? Biscuits?
- 10:53Speaker 3: That is like pretty much?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Uh, I don't they like ranch as well?
- 10:58Speaker 3: I don't. I don't like ranch as much as everyone
- 11:00Speaker 3: else does around here. But a little B and G
- 11:03Speaker 3: that's pretty much everywhere. But you rarely see it at
- 11:06Speaker 3: a concession stand though at a ball game. So when
- 11:08Speaker 3: I see that, I was like, oh man, and everyone's
- 11:12Speaker 3: just everyone's at a bleacher just sitting like devouring it
- 11:16Speaker 3: on a paper plate. And I'm like, that's brave, you
- 11:18Speaker 3: know what I mean, Like for guys like us.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Man, I eat a biscuit and gravy, I am going
- 11:25Speaker 2: to make a deposit in there. How are the bathrooms
- 11:28Speaker 2: that set event most most schools where we pretty much go,
- 11:32Speaker 2: even though there's a tournament, they're still pretty nasty. I mean,
- 11:35Speaker 2: you can only clean them up so much, it seems like,
- 11:38Speaker 2: especially in the boys room. I'm not sure the girls
- 11:41Speaker 2: room obviously, there's always that just stale, old piss smell.
- 11:46Speaker 2: And a lot of these like high school slash middle
- 11:48Speaker 2: school gyms and bathrooms that we go to. It's it's
- 11:51Speaker 2: not a good time and I do not want to
- 11:53Speaker 2: have to poop there.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's that's kind of what this was, and
- 11:58Speaker 4: that's why I tried to I tried to avoid the
- 12:00Speaker 4: the bng, but I was a victim to the pretzel
- 12:04Speaker 4: and cheese.
- 12:05Speaker 3: I could not turn I saw that soft pretzel. They
- 12:08Speaker 3: have the old fashioned like oh, I can't write the
- 12:11Speaker 3: like an arcade style where you used to go over
- 12:14Speaker 3: there and collect your tickets and you over see over They're.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Like oh, there's popcorn. There's this slushy machine, and.
- 12:19Speaker 3: There's the pretzel. There it is and this bad I
- 12:22Speaker 3: see it salted. They even had the cinnamon option ones
- 12:25Speaker 3: as well if you didn't want.
- 12:26Speaker 1: The regular and I was like, oh shit.
- 12:28Speaker 3: I was like, okay, nope, give me the salted one.
- 12:32Speaker 3: And they go, do you want regular cheese or jalapeno cheese?
- 12:35Speaker 3: And I'm like, you have cheese options.
- 12:37Speaker 2: That would have been awesome if they were like, do
- 12:39Speaker 2: you want regular cheese, jalopeno cheese or beer cheese?
- 12:42Speaker 3: Oh, they would have beer cheese, dude, Or if they
- 12:45Speaker 3: would have said or a case, so I'd be like
- 12:47Speaker 3: spit in my mouth, like this is oh my that pretzel?
- 12:50Speaker 3: Like how much would you pay for a jumbo size?
- 12:54Speaker 3: I'm talking about bigger than your face, the one where
- 12:57Speaker 3: you know how like you have like the standard size
- 12:59Speaker 3: plastic nacho container that has this sign of cheese that
- 13:02Speaker 3: goes the pretzel was overlapping the tray. It wouldn't fit
- 13:05Speaker 3: in it. It's one of those big ones. So what
- 13:08Speaker 3: would you pay for that and some cheese?
- 13:11Speaker 2: I mean at a concession stand, it's got to be
- 13:13Speaker 2: a little bit lower. If you go to a restaurant.
- 13:15Speaker 2: For some reason, we just find it's acceptable. I mean,
- 13:17Speaker 2: that's at least probably ten bucks easy at a restaurant.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I would imagine maybe even fifteen. I'm gonna say the
- 13:23Speaker 2: first number that popped in my head was seven to fifty.
- 13:27Speaker 1: It was two dollars and fifty cents off two.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Dollars and fifty cents, lot ten of them.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Whenever I saw the pretzel and I was like, it's
- 13:36Speaker 3: that black box that you get from Walmart, those small ones,
- 13:40Speaker 3: you know what I mean that say jumbo Yeah, No,
- 13:43Speaker 3: it was it's.
- 13:43Speaker 1: The ones that were four times the size. Wow.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I was like I had to look at it, go
- 13:48Speaker 3: and go, it's two fifty for the pretzels and I
- 13:51Speaker 3: and they're.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Like yeah, And I was like yeah, yeah, yeah, one
- 13:55Speaker 2: of those. Yeah, I'll take a case.
- 13:57Speaker 3: And like even whever I and what was weird too,
- 14:00Speaker 3: is like this, I don't whenever we got checked in
- 14:03Speaker 3: to the or I saw the little menu thing or
- 14:07Speaker 3: the menu where the little sign that said, hey, adults
- 14:10Speaker 3: are five dollars, students are a dollar, and I was like, okay, cool.
- 14:14Speaker 3: I was like, we have a player. He doesn't get charged.
- 14:18Speaker 3: We have somebody who's not a student doesn't get charged,
- 14:22Speaker 3: and we have two adults and one student. I was like,
- 14:25Speaker 3: that's eleven dollars and I told her. I was like, hey,
- 14:28Speaker 3: this is what we have, and she goes, okay, six
- 14:30Speaker 3: bucks and I was like, okay, okay, I can look
- 14:34Speaker 3: at my you know, I look at the missus and
- 14:36Speaker 3: she's like, hey, you're gonna be honest.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I was like, no doubt.
- 14:40Speaker 3: No, I don't work here. I don't teach how to
- 14:42Speaker 3: do math, you know.
- 14:44Speaker 2: And at the end of the day, the way I
- 14:46Speaker 2: see it, did you rip them off? No, because that
- 14:48Speaker 2: extra five bucks is just going towards a couple of pretzels.
- 14:51Speaker 2: They're getting the money regardless are they gonna get They're
- 14:53Speaker 2: gonna really miss an extra five bucks at this event.
- 14:55Speaker 2: And it's not even like a fundraiser event, right, it
- 14:58Speaker 2: was just like your normal games. That's one thing that
- 15:01Speaker 2: I'm glad they did away around here. They always used
- 15:04Speaker 2: to charge to go to these high school basketball games.
- 15:07Speaker 2: So it's like next thing, you know, it's like, oh,
- 15:08Speaker 2: this team's playing this team. Oh, you're an adult's doing
- 15:10Speaker 2: a two bucks a dollar and there would be a
- 15:12Speaker 2: pack gym and then next thing you know, it's all
- 15:15Speaker 2: of this might so around here people just stop going
- 15:17Speaker 2: to the games. They're like, the hell with it. I'm
- 15:18Speaker 2: not going to go bring my family a five, spend
- 15:21Speaker 2: an extra ten dollars just to watch a high school game.
- 15:24Speaker 2: So I don't know if it ended up being state
- 15:26Speaker 2: law or if everybody around here were just like, all right,
- 15:28Speaker 2: these people do pay taxes. Maybe we, you know, have
- 15:31Speaker 2: this budget vote coming up, we really want them to
- 15:34Speaker 2: do it. Maybe we stop charging at the basketball games.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Because they started stop charging at the girls game first,
- 15:41Speaker 2: which must be a slap in the face, and then
- 15:43Speaker 2: they stopped with the boys after. And I do I
- 15:46Speaker 2: feel bad for girls sports man Like, I don't know
- 15:47Speaker 2: if it's the same around there, but around here it's
- 15:51Speaker 2: you're barely I mean it's the gyms are empty, it's quiet,
- 15:55Speaker 2: it's awkward.
- 15:56Speaker 1: You hate it.
- 15:57Speaker 2: And you know, I mean around here and you know
- 16:00Speaker 2: where I helped coach and where the kid goes and
- 16:02Speaker 2: stuff like that. I mean, almost every year somebody in
- 16:05Speaker 2: our class, in our section is making probably a Final
- 16:09Speaker 2: four run, if not winning a state championship, Like it
- 16:11Speaker 2: is fantastic. Some of the best girls basketball in New
- 16:15Speaker 2: York State especially in the lower levels and everything like that,
- 16:18Speaker 2: and nobody shows up to watch them. And I don't
- 16:20Speaker 2: get like even like when I was going to school,
- 16:23Speaker 2: we were on the boys team, we always made it
- 16:25Speaker 2: a thing that when we went, we always went to
- 16:27Speaker 2: every girls game on the road as so long as
- 16:29Speaker 2: we didn't have practice, and definitely at home we went
- 16:31Speaker 2: and supported them. We were allowed, we had fun, you
- 16:34Speaker 2: know what I mean, We had chance, we did all
- 16:36Speaker 2: that stuff. Nowadays it is quiet and you say something dumb,
- 16:40Speaker 2: it's like you get thrown out of the gym for
- 16:42Speaker 2: saying warm up the bus or ball that's so respectful.
- 16:45Speaker 2: It's like it's part of the game. Shut up.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like and like honestly, especially if my one
- 16:51Speaker 3: of my kids, uh, do an air ball or something
- 16:53Speaker 3: like that too, I'm gonna say it, and like the
- 16:57Speaker 3: friends around me too, like where the other parents will
- 16:59Speaker 3: laugh about it and everything. It's just but I won't
- 17:01Speaker 3: scream it, like I'm not going to do it every
- 17:04Speaker 3: five minutes or anything like that, you know what I mean.
- 17:06Speaker 3: But one, yeah, maybe one every other game, yeah, absolutely, But.
- 17:09Speaker 2: If it's your own kid, And to be honest, it's
- 17:11Speaker 2: funny coaching youth sports, and that's kind of where I'm
- 17:14Speaker 2: at and everything. Thankfully, you don't hear a lot of
- 17:17Speaker 2: that because youth sports they take that a little bit different.
- 17:20Speaker 2: But I'm not gonna lie to you. If I get
- 17:22Speaker 2: to a varsity game, I'm still not yelling air ball.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I feel like it's I still, as an adult, can't
- 17:28Speaker 2: yell at a kid. I have a hard enough time
- 17:29Speaker 2: doing it at college games because they're still pretty much kids.
- 17:33Speaker 2: You know that we're getting a little bit older. But
- 17:34Speaker 2: there is certain gyms and a buddy of mine who coaches,
- 17:38Speaker 2: we've came up with the conclusion years ago that the
- 17:41Speaker 2: smaller schools with it's not statistically proven, but the people
- 17:46Speaker 2: with the lower IQ's make the most noise in these gyms.
- 17:49Speaker 2: They have no problem being adults, screaming, yelling, taunting, and
- 17:55Speaker 2: just being a jerk to opposing kids on other teams.
- 18:00Speaker 3: That's why Arrowhead's the loudest.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Oh and cheap.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I know, I'll tell you what the you know, at
- 18:08Speaker 2: least at the time of the recording, the AFC is
- 18:10Speaker 2: kind of set, and I know it's said Brandon right
- 18:14Speaker 2: as the time of the recording. He is a Broncos fan.
- 18:16Speaker 2: His team just got eliminated by the Bills. Obviously the
- 18:18Speaker 2: goal news by the time this comes out. I'm a
- 18:20Speaker 2: Steelers guy, they're done. You're a Cowboys guy. They've been
- 18:24Speaker 2: done for three months, and you know, just having all
- 18:27Speaker 2: of our days out, it's I don't know, it's one
- 18:30Speaker 2: of those things that kind of you mentioned on one
- 18:32Speaker 2: of the shows, like my team's out, there's there's really
- 18:34Speaker 2: I got no skin in the game. It's a little
- 18:36Speaker 2: less stressful. I knew going in, you know, last weekend
- 18:39Speaker 2: watching Steelers Ravens when it's a nine and a half
- 18:42Speaker 2: point favorite, there's not going to be an upset. Let's
- 18:45Speaker 2: be honest. I mean, it's like all these people had
- 18:48Speaker 2: hope O Denver's got a chance. Then they take the
- 18:49Speaker 2: early lead. Oh my, It's like it is a four
- 18:51Speaker 2: quarters of football. Unless Allen goes down or there's a
- 18:55Speaker 2: major injury, it ain't gonna happen. And the way that
- 18:59Speaker 2: Baltimore to part Steelers early on was unbelievable. It's just
- 19:05Speaker 2: so impressive that the Steelers had their game plan, Hey,
- 19:08Speaker 2: we're not gonna let Henry beat us, and then next thing,
- 19:10Speaker 2: you know, twelve state straight runs by frigging Lamar Jackson
- 19:15Speaker 2: and then it kind of stalled for a little bit
- 19:16Speaker 2: and they just they got it done. That's I'm excited
- 19:19Speaker 2: this weekend for the AFS, you know, for all of football,
- 19:22Speaker 2: but definitely the AFC Championships. Bill's Raven's going to be nuts.
- 19:27Speaker 2: I could see the KC Texans game kind of being boring,
- 19:30Speaker 2: but that Bill's Ravens game, Holy cow.
- 19:34Speaker 3: I'm really I was really hoping for an upset to
- 19:37Speaker 3: whoever played Kansas City. But the fact now that it's
- 19:41Speaker 3: the Texans, I don't want to give Burley any satisfaction whatsoever.
- 19:45Speaker 2: That's tough for you. Yeah, because you hate the Chiefs
- 19:48Speaker 2: and it's Burley and the Texans. That's not really a
- 19:51Speaker 2: win win for you at all.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Not at all, none at all.
- 19:55Speaker 3: So hopefully it ends at a tie and neither one
- 19:57Speaker 3: of them can advance, and just whoever win between between
- 20:04Speaker 3: between the Ravens and the Bills, that's just the AFC
- 20:07Speaker 3: Championship game.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I mean, it would be a pretty good one.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I think I hope it is.
- 20:12Speaker 3: And you know, we haven't got to see the Packers
- 20:15Speaker 3: in the Eagles game, but I know that we're rooting
- 20:19Speaker 3: for the Packers. Hopefully, Yeah, hopefully Jordan Love is even
- 20:23Speaker 3: gonna play. I haven't even seen the update on it yet.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I was gonna say, its funny because at the time
- 20:26Speaker 2: of the recordings he is playing. He is definitely playing.
- 20:30Speaker 2: At the time of the recording, not to ruin it,
- 20:33Speaker 2: it's five minutes left in the first and it's still
- 20:34Speaker 2: seven nothing Eagles, Packers got the ball. But pack You
- 20:37Speaker 2: guys already know the outcome in a game, so too,
- 20:39Speaker 2: wee because it's much later. But yeah, and what's interesting
- 20:44Speaker 2: for me, though, I just kind of hit my brain is,
- 20:47Speaker 2: you know, I'm a sports guy. College basketball has been
- 20:50Speaker 2: like one sport. I've always absolutely loved him. For some reason,
- 20:55Speaker 2: this year, I haven't given enough about it. I'm barely
- 20:59Speaker 2: watching games, I'm barely checking it out, and the only
- 21:02Speaker 2: thing I can think is these freaking nal deals. Yeah,
- 21:05Speaker 2: you know, you're you're gonna start getting teams stacking them up.
- 21:08Speaker 2: You're gonna start seeing Like we turned on the Duke
- 21:10Speaker 2: game the other day just because it was noon, we
- 21:13Speaker 2: had some time to kill before we had to head
- 21:14Speaker 2: back to the gym. Through on that game, and it's
- 21:17Speaker 2: just I don't know, college basketball used to be in
- 21:20Speaker 2: my opinion, like I love pro football better than college football,
- 21:24Speaker 2: Like I can't turn that switch off. Like a lot
- 21:26Speaker 2: of people. For some reason, it was always college basketball
- 21:29Speaker 2: over NBA and having a hard time watching it. Man,
- 21:32Speaker 2: I don't know what it is.
- 21:34Speaker 3: See, And that's how it was for me, was it
- 21:36Speaker 3: was always NFL over college football. And now with Brandon,
- 21:42Speaker 3: he's he's really got me into college football and I
- 21:45Speaker 3: watched a lot more of it this year.
- 21:47Speaker 1: And uh, but I mean I.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Definitely still favor the NFL more.
- 21:50Speaker 2: But oh yeah, it just you you seem to, you know.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Look outside the NFL when your team is again done
- 21:57Speaker 3: by week four or five. So you know, I was
- 22:01Speaker 3: watching one thing I actually got really into. And I
- 22:04Speaker 3: know I'm a big dart fan, so I'm biased, but
- 22:08Speaker 3: I've watched the Dart Championships over the last four or
- 22:11Speaker 3: five years, but it seems like the popularity of darts
- 22:16Speaker 3: has really grown, its steel tip darts, and and there's
- 22:23Speaker 3: a young dart player who's seventeen years old. Luke Lidler
- 22:29Speaker 3: is his name, but he actually won the dart Championship.
- 22:34Speaker 3: He's the youngest player to ever do so. And he
- 22:37Speaker 3: beat the guy who's technically was the current best. So
- 22:42Speaker 3: pretty much it was like a Mahomes versus Brady type
- 22:46Speaker 3: of thing, with the exception of this time the younger
- 22:51Speaker 3: person winning, and that's a littler beating Michael van Gerwin.
- 22:55Speaker 3: And they said this is the most popular or the
- 23:00Speaker 3: the most viewed championship they've ever had, and I guess
- 23:04Speaker 3: Netflix is picking up the championship for the next few years.
- 23:08Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh snip.
- 23:10Speaker 1: So I was.
- 23:12Speaker 3: I was telling my kids about it and they were like,
- 23:14Speaker 3: that's awesome, Dad, that's that's cool. I was like, you
- 23:17Speaker 3: know what, let this Let my hobby have one thing.
- 23:22Speaker 3: And I was like, it's finally becoming a little popular.
- 23:24Speaker 3: I'm like, let let me enjoy this moment. This this
- 23:28Speaker 3: five minutes of happiness.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Oh so, it's a record four point eight million viewers
- 23:35Speaker 2: watched the twenty twenty three twenty twenty four World Darts
- 23:39Speaker 2: Championship final.
- 23:42Speaker 3: And I've seen it and you can see it growing.
- 23:47Speaker 3: And I mean, there's a lot of old greats that's
- 23:51Speaker 3: been you know, champions and everything else. But I can
- 23:56Speaker 3: never be as accurate as half these guys. But it's
- 23:58Speaker 3: it's great to imagine that one day I can. It's like,
- 24:02Speaker 3: you know, when you toss the football in the backyard,
- 24:04Speaker 3: you're like, oh, I'm John Elway, I'm Bret far from whatever.
- 24:07Speaker 3: I'm like, Oh, hey, I'm Michael van Gerwin, a Dutch
- 24:11Speaker 3: bald man with braces. That's me, baby, that's me.
- 24:20Speaker 2: I mean it's crazy because the world that we live in,
- 24:23Speaker 2: with the technology, the Internet and stuff like that. I mean,
- 24:25Speaker 2: you have people that want to grow up and be YouTubers.
- 24:27Speaker 2: You want to be it's not as weird as saying,
- 24:29Speaker 2: you know, like if you were to grow up now,
- 24:30Speaker 2: like hey, it's not that weird to be like I
- 24:33Speaker 2: want to be a professional dart champion, because now we
- 24:35Speaker 2: have the ability to see this. Like how many times
- 24:37Speaker 2: in the eighties nineties were you being able to see darts?
- 24:40Speaker 2: I mean, now you've got darts, corn hole bowling, which
- 24:43Speaker 2: I think bowling was kind of on TV. I mean
- 24:46Speaker 2: I don't personally watch it, but at least they were
- 24:48Speaker 2: making video games about it. You ever remember playing the
- 24:51Speaker 2: one on Nintendo? Oh yeah, oh man, that might be
- 24:55Speaker 2: one of the most played games I've ever played in
- 24:58Speaker 2: my entire life.
- 25:01Speaker 3: My favorite one was a a PlayStation one. I can't
- 25:06Speaker 3: remember I think it was like ten pin alley.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Oh shit, that actually might be the name of it.
- 25:12Speaker 3: But you used to be able to insult the other
- 25:13Speaker 3: person while they were getting ready to bowl. You can
- 25:16Speaker 3: like trying like you spam it, and it would go
- 25:18Speaker 3: you suck and everything right before you bowl. And so
- 25:21Speaker 3: my mom would, bless her heart, she would always try
- 25:23Speaker 3: to play with us, like she's like, oh, I'll play
- 25:26Speaker 3: bowling with you guys, and me and my brother.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Like you're gonna be able to keep up, ma, yeah, and.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Like we would Detroy, you know, she'd get over there
- 25:35Speaker 3: and she's like, Okay, I'm gonna go and try. I'm
- 25:36Speaker 3: gonna go and try. And she get over there and
- 25:38Speaker 3: she kept like throwing the gutter and she's like, ah,
- 25:40Speaker 3: dang it, nude, here you suck.
- 25:43Speaker 1: And she's like, guys, quit doing that. I hate that,
- 25:46Speaker 1: don't you know? I hate that.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Stop And we're like all right, all right, you suck.
- 25:51Speaker 3: She's like, all right, I'm done. I think it might
- 25:55Speaker 3: have been one of those free games you got with
- 25:57Speaker 3: Pizza Hut. I know we talked about it before.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Oh dang, you.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Know what, well, you're looking that up. The game that
- 26:05Speaker 2: I was talking about was Championship Bowling on ne E
- 26:08Speaker 2: s oh Man. It was classic. I mean I remember,
- 26:14Speaker 2: obviously being a younger kid, so when we went to
- 26:17Speaker 2: my grandmother's house, she had a Nintendo a ton of games,
- 26:20Speaker 2: so we'd get over there. Next thing, you know, would
- 26:22Speaker 2: like be us and a couple of my uncles. I
- 26:24Speaker 2: thought you could play up to four players on it,
- 26:26Speaker 2: and it was just simple. You just lined it up.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Then there was a zoop meter and then you go
- 26:30Speaker 2: top and then you had the PowerP zoop and then
- 26:33Speaker 2: you could put a little spin certain and it was
- 26:36Speaker 2: obviously people are going, I look this up, you guys
- 26:39Speaker 2: are stupid. This video games sucked graphic wise, obviously not
- 26:43Speaker 2: gonna hold up to today and this. But I mean
- 26:45Speaker 2: still had to pick the you know, pounds of your
- 26:48Speaker 2: ball and this and that and still line it up
- 26:50Speaker 2: and throw it. It was fun as hell. And you
- 26:52Speaker 2: got to put in your initials a high score.
- 26:56Speaker 3: It's pretty That's what it was always about, was putting
- 26:59Speaker 3: either a c her initials on there or you know,
- 27:02Speaker 3: getting your own on there so that way.
- 27:03Speaker 1: You knew it was yours.
- 27:05Speaker 3: You're like, hey, there high school on there.
- 27:07Speaker 1: That's a line, you.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Know, and and it's guy's. It sucks seeing some of
- 27:12Speaker 3: these older games now and hearing your kids say like, oh,
- 27:17Speaker 3: that's what these graphics look like, Like that's that's what
- 27:20Speaker 3: she enjoyed. It's like, yeah, you know, that's when when
- 27:23Speaker 3: we grew up, when these graphics came out, that was revolutionary.
- 27:26Speaker 1: This was awesome.
- 27:28Speaker 3: I remember seeing like Mad Note two and being like,
- 27:30Speaker 3: it'll never get any better than this, and then now
- 27:33Speaker 3: seeing it and being like, what the is this?
- 27:38Speaker 1: But uh I did?
- 27:39Speaker 2: This was Championship Bowling. I don't know if you ever
- 27:41Speaker 2: played it. You could pick how many players you're laid numbers,
- 27:44Speaker 2: you put in your initials. Here you put the how
- 27:47Speaker 2: many pound balls. There was only a couple of characters,
- 27:49Speaker 2: and I always laugh because it looked like the girl
- 27:51Speaker 2: was flipping you off sort of a thumbs up. Doesn't
- 27:55Speaker 2: it look like she's giving you the bird? But this
- 27:58Speaker 2: is the graphics right here. I got the sound muted.
- 28:00Speaker 2: So if you're just you just pick where you go
- 28:02Speaker 2: boop boop bloop. You try to get it to front.
- 28:04Speaker 2: If not, it's all so. This guy's gonna curve a
- 28:06Speaker 2: little right with a good power. Uh oh, the seven
- 28:11Speaker 2: six splip Okay, that's sick. Isn't this fun? I found
- 28:15Speaker 2: an emulator recently and like tried to get the kid
- 28:17Speaker 2: to play. But now it's like, it doesn't matter if
- 28:19Speaker 2: you're left to rights and now watching go way over left,
- 28:21Speaker 2: throw a little bit slower, but I would have thrown
- 28:23Speaker 2: a slower ball justop see I curved it the little
- 28:28Speaker 2: bit of an end man coming back, but.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Living hell out of me.
- 28:39Speaker 2: That was wow, pretty sweet? Right, Oh there we go?
- 28:45Speaker 3: That is I was trying to pull mine out here too,
- 28:47Speaker 3: trying to see if it actually showed the spot.
- 28:50Speaker 2: No, it doesn't, so ten penn Alley on PS one,
- 28:53Speaker 2: I got you.
- 28:54Speaker 3: I have it here.
- 28:55Speaker 2: It's no go ahead, you're you're oh hey, hi eh
- 29:01Speaker 2: sorry boys special Hey listen. We started this off with that,
- 29:05Speaker 2: we got our signals crossed. You're a Denver fan. We
- 29:08Speaker 2: recorded on Sunday, so like, there's nothing to be sorry about.
- 29:11Speaker 2: We said that you're gonna be a little bit late.
- 29:12Speaker 1: It's good, you know what's great. At noon, I literally
- 29:17Speaker 1: laid down and I was like, I don't feel too good.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Took the COVID shot yesterday morning and just have not
- 29:23Speaker 1: felt good today yet. My wife woke up with diarrhea,
- 29:25Speaker 1: which has nothing to do with this. But I woke
- 29:28Speaker 1: up light headed, body aches and a headache. Fuck hedach
- 29:32Speaker 1: came on about noon, so I just laid down looked
- 29:34Speaker 1: at the game. I was like, oh, we're up seventy
- 29:36Speaker 1: three a thirty one to seven.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Damn.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Well, at least you got to see the good parts.
- 29:43Speaker 2: As a Denver fan, I watched hey, But like I said,
- 29:47Speaker 2: we we just said, you know now this, all of
- 29:49Speaker 2: our teams are up, the stress of football is over. First,
- 29:53Speaker 2: we can just maybe actually try to enjoy some games.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Your teams went to the playoffs, playoffs, playoffs, you kidd me, No,
- 30:03Speaker 3: that's must be nice. That's but I I think it employ.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I texted you when you were like, for the record,
- 30:10Speaker 1: Matts that Matt did say four to thirty my time,
- 30:13Speaker 1: his time, and I misread it and just.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Well, in your defense, if you read it four thirty
- 30:18Speaker 2: my time, yeah, it is four three and that sucks
- 30:22Speaker 2: time zone math. And I you know, I'm gonna throw
- 30:24Speaker 2: this out there. I'm gonna put this out into the
- 30:26Speaker 2: universe just in case, you know, somebody super super rich
- 30:29Speaker 2: listens to this. I threw this out the other day
- 30:31Speaker 2: and I said, you know what's gonna happen. We're gonna
- 30:33Speaker 2: find somebody that's gonna be a killer sponsor of the show.
- 30:36Speaker 2: They're gonna give us a bunch of money. And what
- 30:38Speaker 2: we're gonna do is, I'm gonna fly out to you
- 30:40Speaker 2: guys once a month and we're gonna record a month's
- 30:44Speaker 2: worth of shows in a weekend, hooking up local establishments.
- 30:49Speaker 2: With the connections that you've been has in his industry,
- 30:53Speaker 2: the connections that Brandon has in his industry, we could
- 30:56Speaker 2: not only help out some local people, we could have
- 30:59Speaker 2: some cool places to do. I want to spend ten
- 31:02Speaker 2: hours on a weekend just flying in another potentially eight driving. No,
- 31:06Speaker 2: but it'd be pretty cool to do once a month.
- 31:08Speaker 2: It'd be it'd be a fun little show. It'd be
- 31:11Speaker 2: I don't know, I think it'd be awesome. So if
- 31:12Speaker 2: anybody rich out there, have some extra stuff, or you
- 31:15Speaker 2: guys want to have a write off, all you gotta
- 31:17Speaker 2: do is cover some airfare and a couple of meals.
- 31:19Speaker 2: We'll do four shows one weekend and we get to
- 31:22Speaker 2: hang out once a month. That'd be cool.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Could you imagine, your daddy, could you imagine the what
- 31:30Speaker 1: the fourth show would be like we would be just lit.
- 31:32Speaker 1: But all right, this is our fourth and final show
- 31:36Speaker 1: the weekend.
- 31:37Speaker 2: See, I put some thought into it. I'm gonna come
- 31:39Speaker 2: in on a Friday, right, We're gonna get one in
- 31:40Speaker 2: on it like a Friday night. We're gonna have maybe
- 31:42Speaker 2: a couple of beverages, some food, relax, hang out. We're
- 31:45Speaker 2: gonna do two on a Saturday, unless we're feeling frisky. Three,
- 31:48Speaker 2: we'll do one Sunday morning. I'll get on the plane,
- 31:51Speaker 2: I'll head back. Wam bam, thank you, ma'am. Like it
- 31:56Speaker 2: be fun, That.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Would be dope. That would be dope.
- 31:59Speaker 3: We can eat someone runs.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Us see, and the possibilities, especially you guys get nicer
- 32:05Speaker 2: weather so you don't have to play around like eight
- 32:08Speaker 2: months nine months of winter. You guys just get it
- 32:10Speaker 2: rough for a little bit. So getting into there should
- 32:12Speaker 2: be fairly easy. I think it'd be cool.
- 32:17Speaker 3: I don't want to hear winter this. How much snow
- 32:20Speaker 3: did you wind up with, Brandon? Oh?
- 32:23Speaker 1: Well, we were promised to foot and we got one
- 32:25Speaker 1: to five. It was close to like three to five inches.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Oh okay, so we were promised about two feet and
- 32:37Speaker 3: we got sixteen inches.
- 32:39Speaker 1: So Esus Christ.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Yeah, and with the drifts being the worst part of it,
- 32:45Speaker 3: but yeah, that was very substantial for our area match.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Just like, oh, sixteen inches. When when's the rest coming?
- 32:52Speaker 1: Like is that it? Yeah?
- 32:54Speaker 3: He's like, that's that afternoon.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Hey you had ten minutes just.
- 33:01Speaker 1: That was my four to twenty alarm before our four
- 33:03Speaker 1: thirty meeting.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Four twenty bet enough.
- 33:08Speaker 1: I'm so good.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a funny number. Yeah. Huh Yeah. Winter sucks,
- 33:17Speaker 2: there's no way around it. We and how it happens
- 33:19Speaker 2: for us is we'll get snow, snow, snow, cold, cold, cold,
- 33:23Speaker 2: and usually it's like, oh it's really cold, it's not
- 33:25Speaker 2: gonna snow. But for the last week or two it's
- 33:26Speaker 2: been super cold and still snowing, So I don't really
- 33:29Speaker 2: know how that's possible. I thought it got too cold,
- 33:32Speaker 2: it couldn't snow. But that's what we're in for. It's
- 33:37Speaker 2: it's terrible. I mean we're pretty much Canada, so it's
- 33:40Speaker 2: it is what it is. Everybody's like, where do you
- 33:42Speaker 2: live there? Why didn't you just move? It's not that easy.
- 33:45Speaker 2: It's not that easy to just pack up move and
- 33:48Speaker 2: could you imagine and this is coming from three guys
- 33:51Speaker 2: that you know, own our houses and stuff like that,
- 33:53Speaker 2: although Brandon recently just rebought. But I couldn't imagine buying
- 33:56Speaker 2: a house in today's kind of you know world. And
- 34:01Speaker 2: you know, not only do the interest rights suck, but
- 34:03Speaker 2: the prices of stuff is through the goddamn roof. Like
- 34:05Speaker 2: Burley's trying to buy a place right now, I'm like,
- 34:07Speaker 2: you're nuts.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Well, yeah, that's like buying a vehicle right now too.
- 34:12Speaker 3: I wouldn't advise either one like it is. I've seen
- 34:15Speaker 3: some of the house like the town that I grew
- 34:19Speaker 3: up in, probably shouldn't have a house worth more than
- 34:24Speaker 3: eighty thousand dollars, I would say, And I've seen some
- 34:30Speaker 3: go for over two hundred thousand.
- 34:31Speaker 2: And I'm like, what same here there's houses because not
- 34:36Speaker 2: only do I have I mean it's not a huge
- 34:38Speaker 2: house by any means, but right around fifteen hundred square foot,
- 34:41Speaker 2: you know, multi level, bunch of rooms because we you know,
- 34:43Speaker 2: we've done some renovation. You can consider them rooms and
- 34:46Speaker 2: a beautiful beard loss studio and six acres of land
- 34:52Speaker 2: and it could easily, like you said, probably hit two
- 34:54Speaker 2: hundred thousand, you know, and if this was five years ago,
- 34:57Speaker 2: I'd be lucky to probably get one hundred thousand dollars,
- 35:00Speaker 2: you know, like by any meat. But then you start
- 35:02Speaker 2: looking and you're like, what is two hundred thousand dollars
- 35:05Speaker 2: really gonna get me in this area, you know, back
- 35:08Speaker 2: back in my day, back when we were growing up.
- 35:10Speaker 2: I mean, we live on a pretty popular river. It's
- 35:12Speaker 2: the Saint Lawrence River, which is the border between Canada
- 35:14Speaker 2: and New York. And real estate is unreal. I Mean
- 35:17Speaker 2: there's places that years ago these people were buying them
- 35:19Speaker 2: for like one hundred thousand dollars. They're getting like a
- 35:21Speaker 2: million dollars for some of the or they're asking at least,
- 35:25Speaker 2: And it's just it's unbelievable.
- 35:29Speaker 3: There's especially if you have property that could be like
- 35:32Speaker 3: if you have land that can become like commercial property
- 35:36Speaker 3: or something like that. Oh man, that's a lot of
- 35:40Speaker 3: the farmers that we have now they are getting land
- 35:43Speaker 3: that's becoming like a highway area and stuff. And there's
- 35:46Speaker 3: a lot of potential businesses talking about like gas stations
- 35:48Speaker 3: being de veloped and everything. And I'm like, oh, you lucky,
- 35:51Speaker 3: lucky sons of guns.
- 35:52Speaker 2: So you know what I hated is buddy of mine
- 35:55Speaker 2: had the chance to buy a commercial lot of land
- 35:59Speaker 2: and pretty cheap price. And his whole intentions was he
- 36:03Speaker 2: was gonna put a guess just like a gas station
- 36:05Speaker 2: on it, and because there wasn't anywhere pretty much where
- 36:09Speaker 2: you could go for I want to say, like probably
- 36:12Speaker 2: fifteen twenty miles in between for gas. But where this
- 36:15Speaker 2: was is right when the Canadians either go back to
- 36:19Speaker 2: the bridge to go back to Canada, or it'd be
- 36:21Speaker 2: the first place that they would see when they came
- 36:23Speaker 2: off Beautiful. So he starts rumors, are you know he's
- 36:27Speaker 2: gonna he's looking into buying this. He randomly gets this
- 36:30Speaker 2: letter from some people at Walmart and said because there's
- 36:33Speaker 2: a Walmart within less than five miles from where he's
- 36:36Speaker 2: gonna do it, and be like, hey, just want to
- 36:37Speaker 2: let you know with our policy this and that I'm
- 36:40Speaker 2: paraphrasing obviously, but if you do this, we will put
- 36:43Speaker 2: gas at our location and we will make sure we
- 36:46Speaker 2: are always cheaper than you. We want to send this
- 36:50Speaker 2: to you out of courtesy, and you're like, you sons
- 36:54Speaker 2: of bitches. So he's like you, you're never gonna have
- 36:58Speaker 2: Walmart money. There's no way you could do anything about
- 37:00Speaker 2: that still they never did and the land is still undeveloped.
- 37:04Speaker 1: I am a. I am a. I've been watching way
- 37:07Speaker 1: too many documentaries about the Magna Carta and English history
- 37:12Speaker 1: and the English Revolution and the American Revolution, the French
- 37:15Speaker 1: Revolution recently. Yes, And I am a die hard capitalist
- 37:21Speaker 1: and have been my whole life. I'm it's done great
- 37:26Speaker 1: things for me. But it's hard to hear stories like
- 37:28Speaker 1: that and not say to yourself, that is crony capitalism,
- 37:32Speaker 1: that is big man squashing the competition, and that is
- 37:37Speaker 1: not free market. That's Bullshit's what it is. I'm sorry
- 37:40Speaker 1: to get all political on you, but that's that's very
- 37:42Speaker 1: It makes me kind of makes me sick to my
- 37:44Speaker 1: stomach a little bit.
- 37:46Speaker 2: No, it sucks, man, it's but like I said, and
- 37:49Speaker 2: it's weird too because this Walmart and the in this
- 37:51Speaker 2: city that I'm located, it's not even a super Walmart.
- 37:54Speaker 2: I don't even think they build them that are not
- 37:56Speaker 2: super Walmarts anymore. It's just this smaller version Walmart, and
- 38:02Speaker 2: it's there's always full of Canadians. Thankfully they're back. But
- 38:06Speaker 2: I've been I have been just cleaning house in the Clearanxisle,
- 38:10Speaker 2: have a I have a problem. I cannot pass up
- 38:13Speaker 2: a deal. The biggest thing for me is like I've
- 38:15Speaker 2: been you know, I try to walk every single day.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I got the treadmill and stuff like that. This is
- 38:19Speaker 2: gonna sound weird, but a buddy of mine was out
- 38:21Speaker 2: on a walk and got hit and was like in
- 38:26Speaker 2: really bad shape. I still don't know how bad shape
- 38:28Speaker 2: because I haven't really had to have a phone call conversation.
- 38:30Speaker 2: When we texted back and forth. He's like, I got
- 38:32Speaker 2: a long road, but I'm lucky to be here kind
- 38:34Speaker 2: of thing. And so I'm like, cool, not walking the
- 38:38Speaker 2: roads anymore. So I got the treadmill. So I've been
- 38:40Speaker 2: doing this and Burly, of course is super sober, and
- 38:45Speaker 2: he kind of been trying to motivate me. So I'm like,
- 38:48Speaker 2: you know what, I don't have as much time. So
- 38:50Speaker 2: I've been walking with a weighted kind of like rucksack.
- 38:53Speaker 2: So I got about fifteen pounds while I'm doing this.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Walmart's in the clearance section, of course, where I am,
- 38:58Speaker 2: nobody's really trying to exercise. They got eight pound sand
- 39:01Speaker 2: bags that are made for working out smaller ones. They're
- 39:03Speaker 2: normally forty bucks, they're fifteen apiece and they have been
- 39:07Speaker 2: there for weeks. I'm like, really hard to pass this out.
- 39:10Speaker 2: But I'll see some stupid shin there for a buck
- 39:12Speaker 2: or two and I'm like, buy that, by that, by that.
- 39:15Speaker 2: That's why I'm so glad the bin store is out
- 39:17Speaker 2: of business. I was the best customer, I think.
- 39:21Speaker 1: God damn.
- 39:22Speaker 2: I had every intention to flip some stuff, and I
- 39:24Speaker 2: just fell in love with it. You know, no, do
- 39:28Speaker 2: you guys?
- 39:29Speaker 4: Uh?
- 39:30Speaker 3: Does your Walmart have that dedicated clearance aisle?
- 39:35Speaker 2: Yeah, he can go down.
- 39:37Speaker 1: I don't think so. There's various spots throughout the store
- 39:42Speaker 1: that things are on clearance, but I know what you're
- 39:44Speaker 1: talking about.
- 39:45Speaker 2: But oh we have Yeah, like he said, we have
- 39:47Speaker 2: one aisle with a huge yellow banner and it just
- 39:50Speaker 2: says clearance, and they're they're always kind of stocking it.
- 39:53Speaker 2: They're rotating. And again, it's a smaller Walmart. I don't
- 39:55Speaker 2: know if yours is you've been in near you as
- 39:57Speaker 2: like a super Walmart or not, but this one it's
- 40:00Speaker 2: not a huge store by any means.
- 40:02Speaker 3: I mean, I don't I missed in the days where
- 40:05Speaker 3: they used to be twenty four hours, but I mean
- 40:07Speaker 3: it used to be a supercenter. But now it's I
- 40:10Speaker 3: mean they close it like ten or whatever.
- 40:12Speaker 2: But like does your cell produce and all sorts of stuff,
- 40:16Speaker 2: like it's like the huge, massive ones, because this one doesn't.
- 40:18Speaker 2: I mean, this one is just a pretty much when
- 40:22Speaker 2: Walmart started opening and stuff, you know how, there was
- 40:24Speaker 2: like no real like I mean, there's a pharmacy, but
- 40:26Speaker 2: it's really small. But I mean going into a super
- 40:29Speaker 2: Walmart now compared to this one, it seems I honestly
- 40:32Speaker 2: think it's like a quarter of a super Walmart.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Oh wow, yeah, no, this one, I think, yeah, it's
- 40:37Speaker 3: it's a super It has the produce, the I mean everything, hardware,
- 40:42Speaker 3: you know, pharmacy, garden.
- 40:45Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, this has those aisles, but it's like
- 40:48Speaker 2: an aisle, you know what I mean. And for some
- 40:50Speaker 2: reason I get, like I said, I'll go into a
- 40:52Speaker 2: super Walmart. I'm like, holy shit, this is like a mall.
- 40:55Speaker 2: This is bigger than the mall that's closed up the road.
- 40:58Speaker 1: I mean yeah, sorry, go ahead, Oh no, go ahead.
- 41:02Speaker 1: I was just gonna say. What's funny is we're all
- 41:05Speaker 1: from the time period where they called them super Walmarts
- 41:07Speaker 1: when they were different from the they stopped calling them that.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I don't know how anything else changed. It was just
- 41:12Speaker 1: calling them that. But I came from a town about
- 41:15Speaker 1: six thousand people where we had a Walmart in town
- 41:17Speaker 1: and it wasn't a huge Walmart by any I don't
- 41:21Speaker 1: even think they had like a full on deli where
- 41:26Speaker 1: you could buy like fried chicken and stuff like. That's
- 41:28Speaker 1: how like broken down it was the one here in town. Man,
- 41:31Speaker 1: it's they got everything. They've got a lawn and garden center,
- 41:34Speaker 1: They've got you know what I'm saying, like, you know,
- 41:37Speaker 1: full electronics center. I mean, everything you'd ever want for
- 41:40Speaker 1: food and full deli and everything else. So I see
- 41:45Speaker 1: and sense that a little bit. I also think it's
- 41:47Speaker 1: funny how hard in our day and age where we've
- 41:51Speaker 1: got the all the different companies that shall not be
- 41:54Speaker 1: named that are the big conglomerates where you can buy
- 41:56Speaker 1: stuff online, including Walmart. Yet leading up to Christmas, everybody
- 42:02Speaker 1: in town was at Walmart buying everything from you know,
- 42:08Speaker 1: probably gravy packets. They didn't have to get Christmas gifts
- 42:13Speaker 1: and things like that. And uh So, as much as
- 42:16Speaker 1: we want to say, you know, like i'll like the
- 42:18Speaker 1: world's changing, we're gonna get stuff delivered to our doorstop.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Walmart ain't missing in that. Walmart does a delivery service
- 42:25Speaker 1: now for ten dollars a month, so it's not they're
- 42:28Speaker 1: not missing on any of that either.
- 42:31Speaker 2: And with a lot of stuff like that, like you
- 42:32Speaker 2: need it in your hand, you don't want to rely
- 42:34Speaker 2: on the even if it's free, but you don't want
- 42:37Speaker 2: to rely on a busy kind of mail carrier who's overworked,
- 42:42Speaker 2: probably underpaid, super miserable having to deliver NonStop packages and
- 42:48Speaker 2: that you sometimes you just want to go and get
- 42:49Speaker 2: that product in your hand. And as much as you
- 42:51Speaker 2: hate to do it, those goddamn Walmart prices are I mean,
- 42:55Speaker 2: I just recently went and got four new tires there
- 42:57Speaker 2: because it was it seemed like six h undred dollars
- 43:01Speaker 2: going anywhere else around town, and it's like it is,
- 43:05Speaker 2: you know, I'm going to.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Speak through stereotypes where I don't normally do it, but
- 43:11Speaker 1: there's something about that, and I've done I lived in
- 43:13Speaker 1: home Hall, Lincoln, with the small towns of the big towns.
- 43:16Speaker 1: There's something about a mechanic who works at Walmart that
- 43:19Speaker 1: I trust. They're the guys who I would used to share.
- 43:23Speaker 1: I would throw a five on it. If you know
- 43:25Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Hey, let's throw five on it.
- 43:26Speaker 2: We'll go yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Those are the guys that were the dudes you wanted
- 43:30Speaker 1: to hang out with. And yet the dudes that were
- 43:32Speaker 1: not I mean they listen, they're not leading Fortune five
- 43:35Speaker 1: hundred companies right like they're at Walmart, but yet so
- 43:39Speaker 1: am I.
- 43:41Speaker 2: And to be honest, they date yeah, and they probably
- 43:43Speaker 2: get paid pretty good. I mean a Walmart manager of
- 43:46Speaker 2: a star's making some big bucks. Are they going to
- 43:50Speaker 2: be the company that potentially has you worked there for
- 43:51Speaker 2: ten years and then phases you out and then you
- 43:53Speaker 2: have to start over and go somewhere else. Probably a
- 43:56Speaker 2: lot of those big companies do it. But like I said,
- 43:58Speaker 2: one of the coolest things, like I was in there,
- 44:00Speaker 2: got a flat tire, found something in it, kept having
- 44:02Speaker 2: to pump it up, and the guy was just like, hey, man,
- 44:05Speaker 2: I can't repair this for you. This is the policy.
- 44:09Speaker 2: But I'll tell you what, if you want to, there's
- 44:11Speaker 2: this patch kit right over here. We already have it
- 44:15Speaker 2: up on the lift looking at it. If you want
- 44:18Speaker 2: to do it, it's going to be a lot easier
- 44:19Speaker 2: and I'll put the air in the tire for you.
- 44:21Speaker 2: And I was like, what really, He's like, yeah, here,
- 44:23Speaker 2: come on. So I bought the kit, went through, did
- 44:26Speaker 2: it right there while I was on the lift, and
- 44:28Speaker 2: he's like he's like, yeah, I just can't do it
- 44:29Speaker 2: for you, man, because of policy, but we're glad to
- 44:32Speaker 2: help you out. And you know, so I went down
- 44:33Speaker 2: there like holy shit. And sometimes you just need an
- 44:36Speaker 2: oil change and you don't want to make an appointment,
- 44:39Speaker 2: you just show up and then I'll be like, yeah,
- 44:40Speaker 2: just give us like twenty minutes, man.
- 44:42Speaker 1: So one thing I do want to say also is allegedly,
- 44:46Speaker 1: I allegedly allegedly also a part of their policy is
- 44:51Speaker 1: to allegedly fire people who reach a certain age who
- 44:55Speaker 1: are in middle management because it's a much easier to
- 44:59Speaker 1: you know, pay somebody who's fifteen twenty years younger in
- 45:02Speaker 1: that same position. And that allegedly happened recently here to
- 45:07Speaker 1: a guy I know who allegedly worked there for like
- 45:09Speaker 1: twenty five years as a good manager and he was
- 45:11Speaker 1: really smart, really sharp on boards all across town for
- 45:15Speaker 1: different civic I mean, he's not the guy you would
- 45:18Speaker 1: normally think of a working at Walmart, which there is
- 45:20Speaker 1: a negative connotation of that. It kind of talked about
- 45:22Speaker 1: that a little bit. But so this' again that's Walmart
- 45:27Speaker 1: allegedly allegedly.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. All I want to do is
- 45:32Speaker 2: go buy some sandbags.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Now, I do want to say something else. I think
- 45:37Speaker 1: sandbags is a good idea, especially at that price. You
- 45:40Speaker 1: can't beat it. Man. But the amount of first of all,
- 45:44Speaker 1: the amount of like random Walmart shit I buy for
- 45:46Speaker 1: the kids that's like a dollar here or there, like
- 45:48Speaker 1: you talked about, that ends up on the ground is
- 45:51Speaker 1: just stupid. But I was watching a YouTube video and
- 45:56Speaker 1: there were the conversation. I had gotten to something we
- 45:58Speaker 1: had talked about several months ago about shrink flation with
- 46:01Speaker 1: fast food products.
- 46:02Speaker 2: M H.
- 46:04Speaker 1: And we all remember when McDonald's had the dollar Any
- 46:07Speaker 1: sized drinks, right, small, medium, large was a dollar. Well
- 46:11Speaker 1: now they're double that price. They're like two nineteen or
- 46:14Speaker 1: something like that.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Thirty dollars thirty.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Nine for a large, Okay, whatever it was, whatever was,
- 46:20Speaker 1: But I don't think it's that low, don't. I don't
- 46:23Speaker 1: think it's a dollar three. I'm pretty sure it's it's
- 46:24Speaker 1: over two dollars or where I'm at, I can't say
- 46:26Speaker 1: it but not only that, but it used to be
- 46:29Speaker 1: thirty two ounces. Now it's thirty ounces.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Uh so they're paying to most people, Like you said,
- 46:35Speaker 2: it's only two ounces. Two ounces times how many McDonald's.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's only two ounces when you want just
- 46:41Speaker 1: one more drink? Fucking yeah, two ounces comes in pretty handy,
- 46:45Speaker 1: you know.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Yep. They must have a decent deal, at least at
- 46:47Speaker 2: the one where I am, because I know a lot
- 46:49Speaker 2: of people from work will like make a quick little
- 46:53Speaker 2: like McDonald's run like, hey, who wants a drink or whatever.
- 46:54Speaker 2: There's a lot of people that like the soda one
- 46:56Speaker 2: because we've talked about it before. The science behind it,
- 46:59Speaker 2: there's just it just hits you different, and it must
- 47:03Speaker 2: be a different price. And they have, you know, a
- 47:05Speaker 2: soda machine in the location. But something about the the
- 47:10Speaker 2: said fast food ones hit different. And this is coming
- 47:12Speaker 2: from a guy that doesn't drink soda. I'm a straight coffee,
- 47:16Speaker 2: beer whiskey kind of guy. I used to drink a
- 47:18Speaker 2: lot of kool aid. But it turns out.
- 47:21Speaker 1: He gets the dollars.
- 47:23Speaker 3: Nine I am. I am a chevy little checker.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Look at me, bro I guess okay. So as for
- 47:30Speaker 2: Anybody that doesn't is just listening. You've been pulled up
- 47:32Speaker 2: the McDonald's app. We're gonna play a little little game
- 47:35Speaker 2: in here, which is funny. How many points you've got
- 47:37Speaker 2: a McDonald's. I never go there, and I got like
- 47:38Speaker 2: three thousand points.
- 47:40Speaker 1: I had over twelve thousand last time, and I got one.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Dollar equals ten nugs. That's what pops up on mind.
- 47:45Speaker 2: What are we looking at? Drinks?
- 47:47Speaker 1: I met.
- 47:49Speaker 3: Eighteen thousand, nine and eleven points.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Okay, I feel better about most.
- 47:53Speaker 1: That's like three different quarter pounders with cheese. See.
- 47:56Speaker 3: The thing is, though, is what's what what is terrible
- 47:58Speaker 3: is the fact of their deals that they offer daily
- 48:01Speaker 3: sometimes is better than the points that you use, and
- 48:05Speaker 3: you can only use one or the other. Now with Wendy's,
- 48:09Speaker 3: shout out to Wendy's, you can use both. You can
- 48:12Speaker 3: use your reward and their daily deal. So if they're
- 48:15Speaker 3: giving away three nuggies and then they're like, hey, you
- 48:18Speaker 3: get free nuggies, but you also get to use like
- 48:22Speaker 3: four hundred points for ice cream or like a frosty
- 48:26Speaker 3: or something, I don't know what it is, but yeah,
- 48:27Speaker 3: they'll let you use both. And McDonald's blasphemous, will not
- 48:31Speaker 3: let you do it.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I've also got a dollar thirty nine unless you
- 48:35Speaker 2: want minute made orange juice three forty nine? What three
- 48:42Speaker 2: forty nine? Lemonade is two nineteen? Everything else, all the
- 48:44Speaker 2: soda is dollar thirty nine. Like, come on, you want
- 48:46Speaker 2: a little bit of healthier even though it's probably full
- 48:48Speaker 2: of sugar, not great for you. And that's a medium
- 48:50Speaker 2: at three forty nine. You want a large orange juice
- 48:53Speaker 2: according to my thing three sixty nine, three.
- 48:57Speaker 3: Twenty nine here, Oh shiteh.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Boy, Okay, so those dollar thirty nine prices are mediums.
- 49:05Speaker 2: You want a large? Oh shit, No, I guess it
- 49:08Speaker 2: is the same shit.
- 49:08Speaker 3: It should be all sizes except for I think you
- 49:11Speaker 3: can get the value for the extra small for a dollar.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Dollar thirty nine for anything I click in there? Why
- 49:17Speaker 2: wouldn't you know what? That's the thing?
- 49:18Speaker 1: Like?
- 49:18Speaker 2: All right, the kid wants to drink. You're getting a large?
- 49:20Speaker 2: Why are you getting Why are you get a large
- 49:22Speaker 2: instead of an extra small? It's the same goddamn price.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm surprised that we both we all found it's
- 49:27Speaker 1: a dollar thirty nine for me too, for a large
- 49:29Speaker 1: that we all have three thirty nine for those other
- 49:32Speaker 1: ones like that, they're all the same. Now, like what happened?
- 49:34Speaker 1: Have they been watching our.
- 49:38Speaker 2: I'm gonna pick I'm gonna pick a random item and
- 49:40Speaker 2: we're gonna see. Well, let's just see the limited I McRib.
- 49:43Speaker 2: What do you guys have got for that? Not available
- 49:44Speaker 2: after midnight?
- 49:45Speaker 1: Why?
- 49:45Speaker 2: Why is that? We need a McDonald's employee turn on
- 49:48Speaker 2: the show just for like fifteen twenty minutes, get them
- 49:51Speaker 2: on their break, just say hey, I want you to
- 49:53Speaker 2: go live on your phone real quick. If any McDonald's
- 49:55Speaker 2: employees are listening, we just we just want to chat
- 49:57Speaker 2: with for like ten to fifteen minutes. We got questions.
- 50:00Speaker 2: I want some inside scoop, some stuff you love, some
- 50:02Speaker 2: stuff you hate?
- 50:04Speaker 1: Why?
- 50:05Speaker 2: And like For the first question, I answer, why is
- 50:07Speaker 2: the McRib not available after midnight? I feel like it
- 50:09Speaker 2: hits a little bit special after midnight?
- 50:12Speaker 1: It was fine, I don't have the McRib on Oh
- 50:15Speaker 1: where's it at?
- 50:17Speaker 2: Mine was okay, well, mine, I just went I pressed
- 50:19Speaker 2: order and then it said app exclusive the mcvalue menu
- 50:23Speaker 2: and then limited time McRib.
- 50:25Speaker 3: Oh mine does not say that.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Oh shit.
- 50:28Speaker 2: So so here's the question. Did the McRib already come
- 50:31Speaker 2: and go where you guys, and I'm just so far
- 50:33Speaker 2: behind it's just hitting.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Yeah I think he did.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I think we had it like last year or like,
- 50:38Speaker 3: but on October.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Like six to eight weeks ago.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, okay, Well you sons of bitches, we got
- 50:44Speaker 2: the McRib is back. Baby, were so far behind cornhole
- 50:48Speaker 2: finally hit up here ten ten years later from the
- 50:51Speaker 2: rest of the world. We finally got there.
- 50:54Speaker 1: How much does a big Mac sandwich and meal cost
- 50:57Speaker 1: for you guys?
- 50:59Speaker 2: Okay, that's a good one.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Mine is.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Oh go ahead, No, you go first for.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Eighty nine for the sandwich, eight thirty nine for the meal.
- 51:07Speaker 3: That's a slid. I can't stand you.
- 51:10Speaker 2: Here we go, We're back to different prices.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Ridiculous.
- 51:13Speaker 3: That is insane.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Are you serious? Okay?
- 51:17Speaker 3: Uh, all right, yeah, so the uh the sandwich for
- 51:21Speaker 3: me is five dollars and twenty nine cents. Yeah, and
- 51:25Speaker 3: the meal is is nine to ninety nine.
- 51:29Speaker 2: All right, Well, well it's okay. Well I guess I
- 51:32Speaker 2: guess we went in order from smallest to biggest, because
- 51:35Speaker 2: mine is five sixty nine for the sandwich, in ten
- 51:40Speaker 2: twenty nine for the meal.
- 51:42Speaker 1: See. No.
- 51:42Speaker 3: What's ridiculous though, is again. I know you're upstate New York,
- 51:48Speaker 3: Brandon and I are three hours away, you know what
- 51:50Speaker 3: I mean? Like, yeah, that is ridiculous that you and
- 51:54Speaker 3: I are so much closer price than him, and I
- 51:57Speaker 3: like that is what?
- 51:58Speaker 1: All right?
- 51:59Speaker 2: So so just we're on the same order, right, and
- 52:01Speaker 2: let's go sandwiches and meals. What's the most expensive sandwich,
- 52:06Speaker 2: just by sandwich out of all of them on yours.
- 52:09Speaker 2: I'm curious if we're all the same for the most expensive.
- 52:13Speaker 3: Compared to I thought it was gonna be that, but
- 52:16Speaker 3: it isn't so for me.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Mine apparently right now at eight thirty nine is the
- 52:22Speaker 2: double quarter pounder with cheese Deluxe, which that's only eight
- 52:26Speaker 2: hundred and fifty calories.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Oh shit, mine is the double bacon quarter pounder with cheese.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Oh shit, I didn't see that one. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 52:36Speaker 2: the most part of mine.
- 52:37Speaker 3: Sorry, yep, that one is Uh it's seven dollars and
- 52:42Speaker 3: eighty nine cents for me.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Mine's eight eighty nine.
- 52:46Speaker 1: For the meal. It's eleven eighty nine mine seven nine,
- 52:52Speaker 1: and then tennin for the meal.
- 52:54Speaker 3: Your meals are so cheap? Okay, hold on, so what
- 52:57Speaker 3: is it so you are getting so if the dreams
- 53:00Speaker 3: are the same, and the burgers are close.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Your fries are cheap as hell, they got to be.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Let's see, let me pull up the fries.
- 53:10Speaker 2: Are you closer to Idaho or something? Or where the
- 53:12Speaker 2: hell are these goddamn fries?
- 53:14Speaker 1: We do it right, medium fries, large fries, small fries,
- 53:18Speaker 1: do mall, doll.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Let's start with a small. I'm to eighty nine for
- 53:21Speaker 2: a small.
- 53:25Speaker 3: It's his fries. He's got a cheap fry game.
- 53:28Speaker 1: I don't know what it is.
- 53:29Speaker 2: His son of a bitch.
- 53:31Speaker 1: To eighty nine for a medium and the largest? What
- 53:41Speaker 1: hold on?
- 53:42Speaker 3: First of all, does your app? Yeah, your app also
- 53:45Speaker 3: goes small, large, medium, What the.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Hell is that? Yeah? I don't like that.
- 53:49Speaker 2: I don't like that.
- 53:50Speaker 3: That that threw me for a loop.
- 53:52Speaker 2: So what they did is they probably did some science
- 53:54Speaker 2: that most people are going to go with the middle.
- 53:55Speaker 2: Like if you had to choose on a test, A
- 53:57Speaker 2: B or C, what do you pick it?
- 53:58Speaker 1: You go B.
- 53:59Speaker 2: So I wonder they were just like, all right, everybody's
- 54:01Speaker 2: gonna go large, we'll put it in the middle.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Maybe they're just trying to subliment, at least make you
- 54:06Speaker 1: think that when you eat it, you are slim SLMs.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Oh well, give me two the I'm so you said
- 54:16Speaker 1: your medium was how much? Again? To eighty nine? Let
- 54:18Speaker 1: me pull it up. I got I got it up.
- 54:19Speaker 1: I just cluted. I'm just more tugs. Let me go
- 54:23Speaker 1: all right to eighty nine. Oh my god.
- 54:27Speaker 3: Okay, So my medium is four dollars and nineteen cents.
- 54:31Speaker 2: Holy shit, mine's cheaper three seventy nine.
- 54:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not even joking. So a medium fry, I'm
- 54:36Speaker 3: not even Joe moof move Yeah. Four dollars and nineteen
- 54:41Speaker 3: cents for a medium.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Holy shit?
- 54:43Speaker 2: Whatis You're large?
- 54:45Speaker 3: Four dollars and sixty nine cents?
- 54:47Speaker 2: Holy shit? Mine's four twenty nine for a large, three
- 54:51Speaker 2: seventy nine for a medium.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Brandon forty nine for large.
- 54:56Speaker 3: You said four eighty nine for forty nine for a large?
- 54:59Speaker 1: All right, sorry, I was gonna say hold on. Yeah okay,
- 55:03Speaker 1: so yeah, so you get it.
- 55:05Speaker 3: So whenever they have those daily deals where that's like, hey,
- 55:08Speaker 3: any size fry for free, I'm taking that. It's like, oh, hey,
- 55:13Speaker 3: would you rather use your points for this? Or like
- 55:16Speaker 3: my daughter that's what she's always like, Hey, just give
- 55:19Speaker 3: me a large fry, And I'm like I don't want
- 55:20Speaker 3: to spend five bucks on freaking fries. But if they
- 55:24Speaker 3: have that daily deal, we're like, hey, free fry.
- 55:26Speaker 1: It feels like it feels like those daily deals have
- 55:29Speaker 1: gotten worse over the past six months. Yes, because they
- 55:33Speaker 1: were like buy one, get one free, big Bax kind
- 55:36Speaker 1: of deals, and well ship, I'll buy two big backs
- 55:40Speaker 1: for forty dine or whatever it costs, you know, like,
- 55:43Speaker 1: but now it's like go ahead.
- 55:46Speaker 3: Oh I would say, no, go ahead, I'll say.
- 55:50Speaker 1: Six dollars happy meal, You're gonna be two dollars off of.
- 55:52Speaker 3: It, five dollars off twenty or something like that. That's
- 55:56Speaker 3: what I see on there too.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Uh you know who.
- 55:59Speaker 3: He hasn't slide us at all.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Arby's.
- 56:01Speaker 2: They have the meats.
- 56:04Speaker 3: They had four roasty sandwiches for ten bucks. I was like, oh,
- 56:09Speaker 3: oh no, that's one of those things where you just
- 56:10Speaker 3: get on the phone and you're like, oh what was that.
- 56:12Speaker 3: Oh you think, oh, the kids want them to we
- 56:14Speaker 3: better go with two of them. Oh yeah, hey, I
- 56:17Speaker 3: just can I get yeah, two of the four for.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Ten Yeah, actually take three of those deals. Just because
- 56:23Speaker 2: we're an educational show. I just wanted to bring this
- 56:25Speaker 2: up that when I when I typed in where to
- 56:27Speaker 2: McDonald's fries come from, just because you know, maybe the
- 56:30Speaker 2: fries are listening and they want to know who their
- 56:32Speaker 2: dad is. Apparently most of them are Frank Russet Burbank potatoes.
- 56:36Speaker 2: They're a type of potato grown by Frank Martinez in Warden, Washington.
- 56:43Speaker 3: So I mean, you're a little closer to Washington than
- 56:45Speaker 3: I am, but it somehow warrants the fact that you
- 56:48Speaker 3: can have a dollar fifty sheeper fry than me.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Well, that's the o g place. Now, there's a couple
- 56:54Speaker 2: of different places that they are obviously, but one that
- 56:58Speaker 2: one that kind of caught my attention, Bill Gates's Farmland,
- 57:02Speaker 2: was one of the places that popped up. The Gates
- 57:05Speaker 2: is own more than a fourteen thousand acres of farmland,
- 57:08Speaker 2: again in Washington, including potato fields that are processed into
- 57:13Speaker 2: McDonald's farm. Obviously Frank Martinez also in Washington. And then
- 57:17Speaker 2: there's something one hundred Circle Farms, which is a farm
- 57:20Speaker 2: that grows potatoes in circles so large that they can
- 57:23Speaker 2: actually be seen from space, and that Lamb Weston is
- 57:27Speaker 2: a processor cuts the potatoes.
- 57:29Speaker 3: Into large fries.
- 57:31Speaker 2: I wonder where I'm going to lookup where one hundred
- 57:32Speaker 2: Circle Farm is.
- 57:35Speaker 3: I have said it once and I will say a
- 57:37Speaker 3: thousand times. McDonald's fries are overrated.
- 57:41Speaker 2: There Oregon something. So does the PN dubs? Do they
- 57:46Speaker 2: grow the best potatoes in the world.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know about the world, but I
- 57:50Speaker 1: know at least here in America. Oh shit, I want
- 57:54Speaker 1: to echo what you've been said. Arvey's right now has
- 57:59Speaker 1: two dollars and fifty large shakes, two dollars and fifty
- 58:02Speaker 1: beef and cheddars. Two dollars and fifty six piece chicken nuggets,
- 58:07Speaker 1: buy one, get one chicken sandwiches. That's all on their
- 58:09Speaker 1: all on their daily deals like that is some daily
- 58:12Speaker 1: deals aretes.
- 58:14Speaker 3: Mine was buy one, get one beef and cheddar How.
- 58:18Speaker 1: Much were they like five bucks? Probably, I don't know,
- 58:20Speaker 1: let me see at fifty seems about the same price,
- 58:25Speaker 1: give or take.
- 58:25Speaker 3: And they even have like a oh they even have
- 58:29Speaker 3: I don't know, like they always have like the new
- 58:30Speaker 3: like mac and cheese, stuffed tots or whatever. They're like
- 58:35Speaker 3: some weird options and stuff like that. They're always given away.
- 58:38Speaker 2: Uh, select a location, all right, so mine, Well, he's
- 58:42Speaker 2: looking it up. Mine is a buy one chicken item,
- 58:44Speaker 2: get one free free Classic roast Beef sandwich with purchase
- 58:48Speaker 2: two dollars and fifty cents six piece chicken nuggies to
- 58:51Speaker 2: fifty Classic roast Beef, two fifty large shake, two fifty
- 58:55Speaker 2: beef and Chatdar's deal.
- 58:59Speaker 1: It mine's a.
- 59:01Speaker 3: Buy one chicken item, get one free, buy one classic
- 59:05Speaker 3: beef and cheddar get one free two fifty chicken nuggets,
- 59:09Speaker 3: or for a six piece classic roast beef for two
- 59:12Speaker 3: dollars and fifty cents large shake for two.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Listen, listen. This is I just I want to make
- 59:19Speaker 1: this point. I'm not one of those people who are like,
- 59:22Speaker 1: look at what they're feeding us. Why are they doing this?
- 59:24Speaker 1: It should be illegal. No, I know what's going on.
- 59:27Speaker 1: They know what's going on. When I go to that
- 59:30Speaker 1: place to meet them at the counter and I say
- 59:33Speaker 1: I want an extra side of ranch, make it three.
- 59:36Speaker 1: They know what I want when I ask them for
- 59:39Speaker 1: three sandwiches, and they know none of nobody else is
- 59:41Speaker 1: helping me with them. It's going to be me. It
- 59:42Speaker 1: was eating all of them. I know what I'm getting
- 59:45Speaker 1: myself into. They know what they're getting themselves into. All
- 59:47Speaker 1: I ask for you are B's and McDonald's and everybody
- 59:50Speaker 1: else who owns these silly conglomerate restaurants is to remember
- 59:56Speaker 1: my pay my paycheck, remember my pocketbook. I will keep
- 59:59Speaker 1: coming back more and more and more until I have
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: to wheel myself in, which will be someday soon, as
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: long as you don't, you know, make me grab my
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: ankles and bite wood, you know what I mean. Don't
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: do what McDonald's did, which they're now walking back and
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: you're seeing that when you turn on their app. Now
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: we got our special mcdeal and it's great at five dollars.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: This five dollars that when we said few to the
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Fouler menu that we created twenty five years ago. Oh,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: just respect your consumers and don't think we're stupid, because
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: we're not. We know what we're getting ourselves into. We're
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: Americans who gamble and drink too much and eat too
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: much cheese.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: But all is yeah, we do murcad and most of
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: us are. You say, aren't dumb enough, But there's a
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: lot of dumb people in the world. I've seen a
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: lot of people on McDonald's that I probably have seen
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: right after at the Walmart that I have seen right
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: after it. Yeah, you bust out that Monopoly game again.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Oh shit, there go some paychecks.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: A classic beef and cheddar two here is five point
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: forty nine.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: By the way, So not a bad deal. Not a
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: bad deal.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: Do you ever get the half pound sandwiches you guys?
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Ever, I have not reached that level of fat man.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: No, damn yeah, me neither.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: That would be terrible.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: If I would ever eat a sandwich that big for
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: no reason, it would be stupid, especially polish it off
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: with a large curly fry.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Maybe a shake, I kid you not. Three plast times
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I went to Arby's got a jamocha shake, and every
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: time it's vanilla, and I don't find out till I
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: get home, and I'm so angry. God.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: That's one of those things where I just like, it's
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: like a slam on the fist and everyone's like, are
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: you okay?
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Yeah, not to brag, but we've I was gifted a
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: homemade ice cream machine for Christmas and it is fantastic.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: It is unbelievable. It was border It was almost like
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: a mcflurry consistency. When I made some Oreo ice cream
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: the other day, dude, telling you and all it is is.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: It's milk, heavy cream, sugar, and a little vanilla and
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: then put in some moreos and it makes a pretty
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: good amount of it. And I have I am making
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: the kids some chocolate ice cream homemade tonight. I've done
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: peanut butter cookies and cream, two batches of vanilla. They're
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: getting chocolate tonight. And I'm surprised I haven't had a
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: knock on the studio door being like where is the
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: ice cream? Because it's gonna be It's gonna be good.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: I'm pumped for it.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: Is it is the brand Pioneer Woman, because that is
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: the brand that I got for my homemade ice cream machine.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: And for some reason, every piece of cookware, anything else
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: that I've been gifted now is Pioneer Woman. I forget
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: the the young lady is that? Who has that brand?
