- 0:00Pay whatever price you must pay to get and keep in your life the
- 0:06spirit and power of the Holy Ghost.
- 0:09We naturally look to find God in the dramatic, but almost always
- 0:14He is in the small, the gentle, and the undramatic.
- 0:18If you read and pray about the Book of Mormon and learn it is
- 0:21true, what more will you know? How will your life be better?
- 0:25Knowing Joseph Smith was a prophet in the church is true.
- 0:29Ask anyone, including members of the church, those questions and
- 0:33you'll get many different answers, but rarely the right
- 0:38one. Nothing is worth nothing is
- 0:42worth the loss of the Spirit. This world, she said, is too
- 0:49difficult to traverse alone. What is the best of all human
- 1:13conditions and what is the greatest gift God can bestow on
- 1:17his children in this life? Hello, I'm Larry Corbridge and
- 1:23this is episode 24 of Stand Forever.
- 1:28In past episodes, we concluded that a purposeful life leading
- 1:32to the realization of your divine potential requires
- 1:38knowing where you are going, point B, where and who you are
- 1:45now, which is point A, and then plotting a course in between.
- 1:50We determined the course is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, also
- 1:54known as the doctrine of Christ, including faith in Christ,
- 1:59repentance, ordinances and covenants beginning with
- 2:03baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end
- 2:07engaged in God's work. The focus of this episode is the
- 2:13gift of the Holy Ghost, which is not only a waypoint along the
- 2:18path to eternal life, but in a way the destination in and of
- 2:24itself. In the grand scheme of things,
- 2:35eternal life is the greatest of the gifts of God, but in this
- 2:39life, His greatest gift is the gift of the Holy Ghost, made
- 2:46possible by the gift of His Son. It is monumentally important to
- 2:53remember that as Paul said, neglect not the gift that is in
- 2:59thee with the laying on of hands to get and keep the Spirit of
- 3:06God in your life should be among your highest and front of mind
- 3:12ambitions. Everything depends on it.
- 3:18So again, this is going to be a long list, but look at the
- 3:22repetition of the Word all in connection with the Holy Spirit,
- 3:28in regard to what various scriptures have revealed first.
- 3:33But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will
- 3:36send in my name, The Lord said, He shall teach you all things,
- 3:42and bring all things to your remembrance, Whatsoever I have
- 3:46said unto you. Another, Scripture, the Spirit
- 3:50of truth, will guide you into all truth.
- 3:55Another, Blessed are all they who do hunger and thirst after
- 4:00righteousness, for they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost.
- 4:05Another, the Spirit searcheth all things.
- 4:10Yeah, the deep things of God. Another, For by the Spirit are
- 4:16all things made known unto the prophets.
- 4:19Another example. Now the Spirit knoweth all
- 4:22things another for all have not every gift given unto them, for
- 4:28there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the
- 4:32Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father
- 4:37sheds forth upon all those who are just and true.
- 4:42Receive of my Spirit even the Comforter, which shall manifest
- 4:46unto you the truth of all things.
- 4:52For behold again I say unto you, that if if you will enter in by
- 4:56the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, that will show unto you
- 5:00all things what you should do. And by the power of the Holy
- 5:05Ghost you may know the truth of all things.
- 5:11Ask the Father in my name in faith, believing that you shall
- 5:14receive, and you shall have the Holy Ghost, which manifesteth
- 5:19all things which are expedient under the children of man.
- 5:24Again, I know this is a long list.
- 5:26Wherefore watch over him, meaning Joseph Smith, that his
- 5:30faith fell not, and it shall be given by the Comforter, the Holy
- 5:34Ghost, that knoweth all things. And this is my gospel,
- 5:41repentance, baptism by water, and then cometh the baptism of
- 5:45fire, and the Holy Ghost, even the Comforter, which showeth all
- 5:50things, and teacheth the peaceable things of the Kingdom.
- 5:56But a commandment I give unto you, that you shall declare,
- 5:59whatsoever thing ye declare in my name, in solemnity of heart,
- 6:04in the spirit of meekness in all things.
- 6:07And I give unto you this promise, that it in as much as
- 6:11you do this, the Holy Ghost shall be shed forth in bearing
- 6:15record unto all things whatsoever.
- 6:20You shall say another example, believe and repent of your sins,
- 6:26and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
- 6:30even as our fathers, and you shall receive the Holy Ghost,
- 6:34that you may have all things made manifest.
- 6:40Again, a long list, but to illustrate how consistent this
- 6:47message is throughout scripture, how all-encompassing, all
- 6:53inclusive is the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- 6:58The Comforter is the truth of all things, quickens all things,
- 7:05makes all things alive, knows all things, and has all power.
- 7:13Speaking of the first vision, President Russell M Nelson said
- 7:17this during that singular vision.
- 7:20God the Father. Pointed to Jesus Christ and
- 7:22said, this is my beloved son, hear him.
- 7:33That admonition given to Joseph is for each of us.
- 7:37We are to seek in every way we can to hear Jesus Christ who
- 7:43speaks to us through the power and ministering of the Holy
- 7:46Ghost. Another example of how
- 7:50monumentally important the Holy Ghost is, is the Christ began
- 7:56and concluded his mortal ministry teaching about the gift
- 7:59of the Holy Ghost. At the outset.
- 8:03He taught about being born again by the Spirit of the Holy Ghost.
- 8:08The heart of Nicodemus was pumping.
- 8:10He was alive, or so he thought. And yet Jesus said, Marvel not
- 8:14that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.
- 8:19He concluded also his mortal ministry the same way, with the
- 8:23promise that Heavenly Father would send the Comforter, the
- 8:27Spirit of Truth, the Holy Ghost. Also, when he appeared on the
- 8:34American continent, he followed the same pattern.
- 8:39He began with the same promise to the faithful Nephites that
- 8:43Heavenly Father would visit them with fire and the Holy Ghost.
- 8:48He gave them power to baptize, and He gave them power to give
- 8:53the Holy Ghost His disciples. His disciples prayed for that
- 9:00which they most desired, that they desired that the Holy Ghost
- 9:05should be given unto them. Christ then prayed, saying,
- 9:11Father, I thank thee that thou has given the Holy Ghost unto
- 9:16those whom I have chosen. Father, I pray that thou will
- 9:21give the Holy Ghost unto all them that shall believe in their
- 9:26words. He then concluded that ministry
- 9:30with the commandment to repent and be baptized for the purpose
- 9:34of becoming sanctified by the reception of the Holy Ghost.
- 9:40His very last words tied the Father, the Son, and the Holy
- 9:44Ghost together as one, saying, The Father giveth the Holy Ghost
- 9:49unto the children of man because of me.
- 9:55The fact that the Lord commenced and concluded both ministries
- 10:00teaching about the gift of the Holy Ghost is evidence enough of
- 10:04its primary importance, President Russell M Nelson
- 10:10quoted another president of the church, Lorenzo Snow, saying.
- 10:14This is the grand privilege of every latter day St. that it is
- 10:18our right to have the manifestations of the Spirit
- 10:21every day of our lives. President Nelson then went on to
- 10:25warn, however, saying. But in coming days it will not
- 10:29be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding,
- 10:34directing, comforting and constant influence of the Holy.
- 10:39Ghost Mormon concluded the record of Christ's ministry
- 10:44among the Nephites with these words.
- 10:49Hearken, O ye Gentiles, and hear the words of Jesus Christ, the
- 10:53Son of the living God, which he hath commanded me, that I should
- 10:58speak concerning you. For behold, he commandeth me
- 11:01that I should write, saying, Turn all ye Gentiles from your
- 11:06wicked ways, and repent of your evil doings, and from all your
- 11:09wickedness and abominations, and coming to me, and be baptized in
- 11:14my name, that ye may receive a remission of your sins and be
- 11:21filled with the Holy Ghost, that you may be numbered with my
- 11:28people who are of the House of Israel.
- 11:33That really is the end objective in this life to receive a
- 11:38remission of sins and be filled with the Holy Ghost, which is
- 11:42the source of Lovejoy and peace and and the power to be
- 11:49fruitful, partake of the fruit of the tree of life and help
- 11:54others do the same. If you read and pray about the
- 12:05Book of Mormon and learn it is learn it is true.
- 12:09What more will you know? Well, I'll know that Joseph
- 12:15Smith was a prophet in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
- 12:18Day Saints. Is the true church OK, But if
- 12:24you're not interested in organized religion, if you
- 12:27generally distrust institutions anyway, how will your life be
- 12:33better? Knowing Joseph Smith was a
- 12:35prophet in the church is true? How will your life be better if
- 12:40you are baptized? Ask anyone, including members of
- 12:46the Church, those questions and you'll get many different
- 12:50answers, but rarely the right one.
- 12:56People will talk about knowing the truth or the blessings of
- 12:59living prophets, happiness and eternal families, additional
- 13:04scripture, all of which are monumentally important.
- 13:09But rarely will anyone say, if the Book of Mormon is true, then
- 13:17Joseph Smith was a prophet and the Church of Jesus Christ of
- 13:22Latter Day Saints is the true church.
- 13:24And therefore I can be forgiven of my sins and endowed with
- 13:32heavenly power to engage in God's work and ultimately,
- 13:37ultimately return to the presence of God.
- 13:40That's the answer. If the Book of Mormon is true,
- 13:47it means not only God the Father in Jesus Christ appeared to
- 13:51Joseph Smith, but others came as well.
- 13:55Among others, John the Baptist restored authority to baptize
- 14:00for the remission of sins. Peter, James, and John restored
- 14:05authority to confer the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- 14:11Alma asked, What have you against been baptized in the
- 14:16name of the Lord, as a witness before him, that you have
- 14:19entered into a covenant with him that ye will serve and keep His
- 14:24commandments, that ye that He may pour out His Spirit more
- 14:29abundantly upon you and objective.
- 14:35The essential problem in life is separation from God our Father.
- 14:42The purpose of the restoration is to bridge that gap, extending
- 14:47the blessings of the gifts of God's Son, His Spirit and His
- 14:52life. In the parable of the 10
- 14:55virgins, Jesus vividly described the indispensability of oil in
- 15:01your lamp. The Spirit of the Holy Ghost,
- 15:04the five foolish virgins who did not have oil, knocked on the
- 15:09door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us.
- 15:14But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not
- 15:21Jesus. This is important.
- 15:23Jesus uses the metaphor of virgins only in this parable.
- 15:31Why, they might have been servants or sisters or
- 15:37handmaidens, but why virgins? Virginity, of course, denotes
- 15:43purity. All 10, all ten were pure, and
- 15:52yet five were not admitted despite their purity.
- 15:57How surprising. How can that be?
- 16:01We frequently think of purity as the ultimate and sole objective,
- 16:05the key to enter the presence of the Lord.
- 16:08But he did not say accept a man be pure, he cannot enter the
- 16:12Kingdom of God. Rather, accept a man be born of
- 16:17water and of the Spirit. He cannot enter the Kingdom of
- 16:21God or the presence of God. True enough, no unclean thing
- 16:27can enter the Kingdom of God. Yes, worthiness of course, is
- 16:32essential, but worthiness alone is not sufficient.
- 16:38Alma summed up all he had been called to preach by simply
- 16:42saying repent and be born again. It isn't just repentance.
- 16:51It isn't only improving your behavior, rather repent that you
- 16:57may receive the Holy Ghost. Remember where you were going to
- 17:05be endowed with the power of God also requires covenants and
- 17:09ordinances. In Matthew's account, the Lord
- 17:13says to the five foolish virgins, I know you not.
- 17:19The Joseph Smith translation turns it around with Ye knew me
- 17:24not Either way, contracts and covenants place the parties in a
- 17:31relationship with each other, that they are not strangers, but
- 17:36know each other. If you sign a contract, you at
- 17:40least know who the other party is.
- 17:43Neither one can fairly say, I don't know you, or you don't
- 17:48know know me. The oil in the lamps of the five
- 17:53wise virgins represents the truth and the Spirit of the Holy
- 17:58Ghost, enabling one to avoid deception.
- 18:01The Lord said this, And at that day when I shall come in my
- 18:05glory shall the parable be fulfilled, which I spake
- 18:09concerning the 10 virgins. For they that are wise, and have
- 18:14received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their
- 18:19guide, and have not been deceived, Verily I say unto you,
- 18:24they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall
- 18:28abide the day in our day. The Lord said For the
- 18:34preparation wherewith I designed to prepare mine apostles, to
- 18:38prune my vineyard for the last time, that I may bring to pass
- 18:42my strange act, meaning my uncommon act, that I may pour
- 18:49out my spirit upon all flesh. But behold, verily I say unto
- 18:55you, that there are many who have been ordained among you
- 18:57whom I have called, but few of them are chosen.
- 19:01They who are not chosen to have sinned a very grievous sin, and
- 19:06that they are walking in darkness at noonday and quote
- 19:12without oil there is no light, even if you have lamps.
- 19:20It is difficult to envision oneself like Christ or look
- 19:28forward through the broad expanse of time to eternal life.
- 19:34The Holy Ghost, however, makes life's purpose more immediate,
- 19:40relatable, simpler, and within reach.
- 19:46To fully realize your divine potential and receive eternal
- 19:50life is the ultimate consequence of simply receiving the truth
- 19:55and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit from day-to-day.
- 20:00The gift of God's life is the ultimate consequence of
- 20:04receiving the gift of God's Son and the gift of God's Spirit,
- 20:09which quickens all things, makes alive all things.
- 20:15Knows all things, has all power, and can tell you all things you
- 20:22should do. There is, it seems to me, no
- 20:28better example of of the profound change the Holy Spirit
- 20:32works in a person than Peter and and and the Apostles.
- 20:39They walked with Christ and were personally taught by Him
- 20:44day-to-day for three years. They personally witnessed the
- 20:50lame made to walk, the deaf to hear, and the dead to live
- 20:55again. They saw him walk on water, calm
- 20:58the wind in the angry sea. And yet, at the end, when the
- 21:03angry night was full of threats and harm, they largely stepped
- 21:10away. They abandoned him.
- 21:15One denied him, another betrayed him for 30 pieces of silver.
- 21:21But the story does not end there.
- 21:24In a way, it was just the beginning.
- 21:29Except for Judas, who took his own life, the other 11 disciples
- 21:34would suffer cruel death because of their courageous teaching and
- 21:39preaching and testimony of Christ, the one they earlier
- 21:43abandoned and denied. What?
- 21:47What made the difference? What accounts for the profound
- 21:50change? Not in a few, but universally in
- 21:53all of them? It was the gift of the Holy
- 21:57Ghost. They had knowledge before the
- 22:03day of Pentecost, but after the day of Pentecost they also had
- 22:08power. And it is the combination of
- 22:12those two knowledge and power that results in becoming
- 22:18converted unto the Lord, and never fall away.
- 22:23When the resurrected Christ commanded his disciples to
- 22:27preach the gospel among all nations, he instructed them to
- 22:311st tarry in Jerusalem, until in his words they be endowed with
- 22:36power from on high. The Lord repeated the same
- 22:41admonition for his servants in this dispensation, saying,
- 22:46Therefore, in consequence of the transgressions of my people, it
- 22:50is expedient in me that mine elders should wait for a little
- 22:54season for the redemption of Zion, that they themselves may
- 22:58be prepared, and that my people may be taught more perfectly and
- 23:02have experience, and no more perfectly concerning their duty,
- 23:08and the things which I require at their hands.
- 23:11But this cannot be brought to pass until my elders are endowed
- 23:18with power from on high. Jesus famously said to Peter,
- 23:26When thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
- 23:33Peter really could not strengthen others until he was
- 23:36converted. And the essence of conversion is
- 23:40to be born again. It is to receive the Holy Ghost.
- 23:47In the last chapter of the Book of Mormon, Moroni gives this
- 23:50solemn warning, this insightful warning, saying Unto all the
- 23:57ends of the earth. He says, And now I speak unto
- 24:00all the ends of the earth, that if the day come that the power
- 24:05and gifts of God shall be done away among you, it shall be
- 24:09because of unbelief. And woe be unto the children of
- 24:14man. If this be the case.
- 24:15If, what be the case, if the gifts and power of God are done
- 24:19away? For there shall be none that
- 24:23doeth good among you. No, not one.
- 24:28And then he repeats it. For if there be one among you
- 24:31that doeth good, he shall work by the power and gifts of God.
- 24:40Neither Peter, or anyone else for that matter, could or can
- 24:45strengthen thy brethren or do any other eternal redemptive
- 24:50good without the power and gifts of God.
- 24:54The power of the Holy Ghost is essential to becoming fruitful,
- 24:59to make a difference. Partake of the fruit of the tree
- 25:02of life to be fruitful and help others do the same.
- 25:13The Lord also ask this compelling question saying there
- 25:18are many called but few are chosen and why are they not
- 25:21chosen? Why?
- 25:25Why 10 virgins? Why not 21?
- 25:31Who was wise and another foolish?
- 25:34Many are called or invited, but not everyone is chosen or enters
- 25:41in. Why?
- 25:43That is a question of questions, and the Lord gives the answer
- 25:49the question and the answer should capture the attention of
- 25:53anyone who can fog a mirror, he explains.
- 25:58They do not learn this one lesson.
- 26:02And what is that lesson? The powers of heaven can only be
- 26:07received upon the principles of righteousness.
- 26:11That's it. That's the one lesson many are
- 26:17called, but few are chosen. And why is that?
- 26:21Because they lack the oil. They lack the powers of heaven
- 26:27because they do not learn one thing, how those powers are
- 26:32received. The reason they do not learn
- 26:36that central lesson is because, yes, they've become distracted
- 26:39with, as the Lord said, the things of this world and the
- 26:43honors of men. They are blinded by the tinsel
- 26:47of the world, which shall pass away and overlook the treasure
- 26:51treasures of heaven, which will last forever.
- 26:57Describing the condition of those who, for whom the Spirit
- 27:00of the Lord had ceased to strive, Mormon gave this dismal
- 27:05description. They are without Christ and God
- 27:09in the world, and they are driven about it as chaff before
- 27:14the wind led by Satan, even as chaff is driven before the wind,
- 27:19or as a vessel is tossed about upon the waves without sail or
- 27:24anchor, or without anything wherewith to steer her.
- 27:31A woman who was married and divorced multiple times to men
- 27:36who were all unfaithful and abusive ultimately turned to a
- 27:42boyfriend for fulfillment, affection, and love.
- 27:48She reasoned she had tried to do the right things in her life for
- 27:52so long, but nothing turned out as she expected.
- 27:56So she in her words, tried another way, the way of the
- 27:59world. Although she felt loved, wanted
- 28:03and valued for a short time, soon misery, shame and
- 28:07embarrassment settled in. She then said this.
- 28:12Looking back on her life, she said I knew it was wrong.
- 28:16I felt, as did Alma, the pains of a sin tormented soul.
- 28:22Instead of bringing me the love that I so long for, I felt just
- 28:27the opposite. My anger toward myself as well
- 28:32as the injustices of my life turned inward and I became more
- 28:38depressed. I felt momentarily I had lost
- 28:42the one thing that had brought me peace and love in the past,
- 28:46real peace and real love, rather than any attempt at
- 28:51substitution. So she said.
- 28:55The relationship ended and I began my journey back to Father.
- 29:00I have learned how extremely important it is to invite the
- 29:04Spirit continually to study and pray every day before anything
- 29:11else. Without that constant
- 29:15nourishment. It's too easy to be overwhelmed
- 29:18when trials don't subside without the Spirit to guide you
- 29:23through them. There is nothing compared to the
- 29:28quiet, calming assurance that you are not alone and that He is
- 29:33helping you through it all, continuing on with her words.
- 29:37By comparison, the peace that comes through knowing that your
- 29:42actions are pleasing to the Father and that you are clean
- 29:46and worthy to serve Him cannot be overstated.
- 29:50Nothing, she said. Nothing is worth.
- 29:54Nothing is worth the loss of the Spirit.
- 30:01This world, she said, is too difficult to traverse alone.
- 30:12Another woman said. When I was baptized again and
- 30:16given the Holy Ghost once more, something changed inside of me.
- 30:23The Spirit spoke to my soul and told me I was exactly where I
- 30:27needed to be. She said.
- 30:30I've never been the same since. I feel His presence daily and
- 30:35I'm so grateful I've have Him to help guide me home.
- 30:43Ask almost anyone what they most want in life and Lovejoy and
- 30:48peace in some combination. We'll surface in the discussion.
- 30:54Paul taught the fruit of the Spirit is Lovejoy peace.
- 31:01He also said, Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and
- 31:06peace, and believing that you may abound in hope through the
- 31:12power of the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ is unmistakably
- 31:20revealed by the power of the Holy Ghost, Nephi said.
- 31:26And as I spake concerning the convincing of the Jews that
- 31:30Jesus is the very Christ, it must needs be that the Gentiles
- 31:35be convinced also that Jesus is the Christ, the eternal God, and
- 31:42that listen to this, and that he manifested himself unto all
- 31:47those who believe in him, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
- 31:55Yeah, unto every nation, kindred tongue, and people, working
- 32:02mighty miracles, signs and wonders among the children of
- 32:05men, according to their faith. Jesus also said, the Comforter,
- 32:12which is the Holy Ghost, shall teach you all things.
- 32:17It is the power by which you may know the truth of all things.
- 32:23It will show you all things you should do.
- 32:27It is the fountain of living water that springs up unto
- 32:33eternal life. The best, the best of all human
- 32:39conditions in this life is to be endowed with heavenly power, to
- 32:46be born again, to have the gift and companionship of the Holy
- 32:52Ghost. A friend of mine, Robert Schick,
- 33:02a young man from Midway, UT, said about his mission
- 33:06experience. These are his words.
- 33:09One of the great blessings of my mission was to learn to
- 33:12recognize the Spirit. It was hard for me to feel the
- 33:17Spirit before my mission because I was so involved in other
- 33:20things, school, friends and sports, he said.
- 33:25I was not listening. The Spirit will not hit you like
- 33:30a rock, he said. It is a little feeling right
- 33:33here in my chest that pierces me to the very soul, that makes me
- 33:39feel happy, makes me feel joy. One of the strongest reasons we
- 33:46are here is to feel the Spirit. I learned to love the scriptures
- 33:51on my mission. They answer every question in
- 33:57the temple. We can feel the spirit better
- 34:00than anywhere else on earth. But that's the end of his words.
- 34:07The voice of the Spirit in a way is a bit perplexing because it
- 34:13is, yes, a still small voice, but at the same time it's also
- 34:22sure, penetrating, pervasive, edifying, sustaining and
- 34:29certain. Joseph Smith taught the Lord
- 34:34cannot always be known by the Thunder of His voice, by the
- 34:40display of His glory, or the manifestation of His power.
- 34:45And those that are most anxious to see these things are the
- 34:49least prepared to meet them. And were the Lord to manifest
- 34:53His powers as He did to the children of Israel, such
- 34:57characters would be the first to say, Let not the Lord speak
- 35:01anymore, lest his people die. We naturally look to find God in
- 35:09the dramatic, but almost always He is in the still, the small,
- 35:15the gentle, and the undramatic. The Lord said to Elijah, Go
- 35:22forth and stand upon the mount before the Lord, and behold, the
- 35:25Lord pass by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains,
- 35:31and break in pieces the rocks before the Lord.
- 35:34But the Lord was not in the wind.
- 35:37And after the wind and earthquake, but the Lord was not
- 35:41in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire.
- 35:45But the Lord was not in the fire.
- 35:49And after the fire, a still small voice.
- 35:57There are strong winds that ran the mountains.
- 36:01There are also earthquakes and fire.
- 36:04And God's hand may be in some of it, but all of it together does
- 36:08not reach the heart and soul of man.
- 36:11As God's still small voice. Not nearly the Spirit of the
- 36:20Holy Ghost is so sure, penetrating, pervasive, edifying
- 36:25and sustaining, it cannot be inadvertently denied.
- 36:30So much so the Lord said. And whosoever speaketh the word
- 36:34against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him.
- 36:38But whosoever, whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost,
- 36:44it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither
- 36:48in the world to come. Notwithstanding how penetrating
- 36:52the voice of the Lord is, we must choose to hear it because
- 37:00it is still and it is small. It can easily be lost in the
- 37:05clamor of ambient noise and silenced by the roar of sin.
- 37:11As Amulek said, contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but
- 37:16receive it and take upon you the name of Christ.
- 37:23Pay whatever price you must pay, bear whatever burden you must
- 37:31bear, and make whatever sacrifice must be made to get
- 37:36and keep in your life the spirit and power of the Holy Ghost.
- 37:41Everything depends on getting and keeping the power of the
- 37:47Holy Ghost in your life. Everything depends on that.
- 37:55In the next episode, we will explore the next coordinate to
- 38:00waypoint along the covenant path and during to the end.
- 38:05I hope you will join me for that because it doesn't matter how
- 38:09far you go if you don't get to the end.
