Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Dione. Welcome, Thank you so much for being here.
- 0:05Speaker 2: We're gonna talk with you a little bit just about
- 0:09Speaker 2: football Super Bowl, but I do want to ask you
- 0:12Speaker 2: talk to us about going up against Patrick Mahomes and
- 0:17Speaker 2: the Chiefs and how tough it is to match up.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Listen, he understands it.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I don't know it personally, but I am a Broncos fan,
- 0:25Speaker 2: so I also get it.
- 0:27Speaker 1: It's tough, So talk about that game.
- 0:31Speaker 3: I don't get it. I really don't. I don't be understanding.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Like the stuff that bothers me the most is like,
- 0:38Speaker 3: you know, after the game and then you start seeing
- 0:39Speaker 3: all the conspiracy stuff. I'd be like, Luke Tolan, I'm like,
- 0:43Speaker 3: for real because you see stuff and I'm like, is
- 0:46Speaker 3: this really happening? And then like you're not really like
- 0:48Speaker 3: realizing what's happening or if it really is happening, and
- 0:51Speaker 3: then it takes your mind like so many places. But overall,
- 0:53Speaker 3: like you like, you gotta respect it, right if Patty
- 0:57Speaker 3: Mahomes is doing this every year, respect and but you
- 1:01Speaker 3: got it like you wanted them dudes, right, Chris Jones
- 1:04Speaker 3: one of them dudes. Like, dudes are like that. But
- 1:07Speaker 3: you know, I'm ready for it to be us.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I think listen, I think America was wanting the
- 1:16Speaker 2: same thing. To be honest with you, I think a
- 1:18Speaker 2: lot of people went into that game. No, you didn't
- 1:20Speaker 2: let America down. But I think similarly to how you
- 1:22Speaker 2: both feel, it's like you kind of want to see
- 1:24Speaker 2: a new team get in there and kind of ruffle
- 1:26Speaker 2: some feathers.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Yeah, like put us both in there.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I agree with that. See, I'm all about that.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I love No, it's true.
- 1:36Speaker 2: But again, I think a lot of people, not even players,
- 1:40Speaker 2: sympathize with the feeling of like.
- 1:42Speaker 1: We're here again. How did we get here again?
- 1:44Speaker 2: And to your point, it doesn't take away from how
- 1:46Speaker 2: talented they are. Of course you want to give them
- 1:48Speaker 2: their praise, But Deebo, we've spent a lot of time
- 1:50Speaker 2: talking about just how tough this team is to face
- 1:53Speaker 2: and how almost frustrating it can feel.
- 1:57Speaker 3: They're definitely tough.
- 1:58Speaker 4: You know, Super Bows lost to the same team.
- 2:03Speaker 5: You know we got over that NFC Championship humping and
- 2:05Speaker 5: made it to the last one, and you know we
- 2:09Speaker 5: up team with four minutes never lose by ten in
- 2:11Speaker 5: twenty nineteen and last year you know overtime, right, it's
- 2:17Speaker 5: just just my homes, bro, Like, it's just my homes.
- 2:20Speaker 2: There's not a whole lot you can do about the
- 2:21Speaker 2: offense being what it is. But also spags defensive scheme.
- 2:26Speaker 2: What are the Eagles need to do up front?
- 2:30Speaker 3: As simple as that, and I'm gonna just keep it
- 2:33Speaker 3: a buck. The football game comes down to the old
- 2:35Speaker 3: line and D line. The skill guys.
- 2:37Speaker 1: He talked about D line like ten minutes ago, and I.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Call them skinnies, No in disrespect the skinnies of the game.
- 2:44Speaker 3: The skinnies is gonna do with what they do. Guys
- 2:46Speaker 3: can run fast, they can catch you, got you got
- 2:48Speaker 3: a few superstars that is gonna do with what they do.
- 2:51Speaker 3: De bo Tyreek Hill, some of like those names, Boom
- 2:54Speaker 3: boo boom, and they gonna do it. But when it
- 2:55Speaker 3: comes down to it, the old line and D line
- 2:58Speaker 3: gotta come up. Yeah, the Eagle D line's humongous. They're
- 3:02Speaker 3: they're nice, they're young, they're athletic, they're fast. Don't even
- 3:06Speaker 3: let the game get away from you, get away from you.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I just told them that they've got to win.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I think in order to beat the Chiefs, you have.
- 3:14Speaker 3: To like affect Patrick mahone.
- 3:16Speaker 1: You have to that and.
- 3:17Speaker 2: You also have to you also can't if you're expecting
- 3:20Speaker 2: to win with a field goal at the last second,
- 3:23Speaker 2: it's not gonna happen. You have to convincingly win against
- 3:27Speaker 2: the Chiefs or it is not gonna happen. So the
- 3:29Speaker 2: Eagles really have to. I think they have to come
- 3:31Speaker 2: out swinging. They have to start playing aggressive really really quick.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I said, the Eagles definitely got to be prepared
- 3:36Speaker 5: for the blitzing for sure, because they're gonna stack the block.
- 3:39Speaker 3: They gotta say, corn and who's running crazy? He He's
- 3:42Speaker 3: not gonna just let him run crazy. They're gonna stack
- 3:45Speaker 3: the box. They're gonna try to set it off first
- 3:47Speaker 3: that we can or set the temple first. That look,
- 3:50Speaker 3: we're gonna stop the run. We want to see where
- 3:52Speaker 3: your arm is at, because you know, y'all have had
- 3:54Speaker 3: a run game majority of the season, which we're not
- 3:56Speaker 3: talking bad about, right like you know ja ja, and
- 4:02Speaker 3: you gotta stop it and then force that on the
- 4:04Speaker 3: d line. That's why it comes to the line, d Lin,
- 4:07Speaker 3: because they got to do what they do.
- 4:08Speaker 2: So it sounds like they're the X factor in your opinion,
- 4:11Speaker 2: one of your X factors this season.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Josh Allen, that's my boy. Now, listen, I want you.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Without It's gonna be really tough for me to say,
- 4:19Speaker 2: remove your bias. Here, the MVP race was very close.
- 4:21Speaker 3: It was tight.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It was tight. It was tight. It was tight.
- 4:24Speaker 3: You can't tell him to remove it.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You can ask that, But how would you convince somebody
- 4:29Speaker 2: who's like, ah, I feel like Lamar Jackson might deserve
- 4:31Speaker 2: it more.
- 4:32Speaker 3: You go ahead and speak, and I would love if
- 4:36Speaker 3: we could talk about those two guys, but we can't.
- 4:39Speaker 3: We can't. Just it is what it is. Nah. But
- 4:43Speaker 3: when it comes down to it, realistically, I hate to say.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I don't want to pull back from anything that my
- 4:50Speaker 3: team is doing. Of course, Khalil Shakur, we got Mac Hollins,
- 4:56Speaker 3: We got a couple guys that are just guys, right, Like,
- 5:00Speaker 3: we don't have a debo. If we had a debo,
- 5:02Speaker 3: we would win the Super Bowl, right, And our guys
- 5:05Speaker 3: are debo without that name of debo yet, right, which
- 5:07Speaker 3: is great? Right? So, realistically, Josh Allen is Josh Allen,
- 5:11Speaker 3: and he's by his He's been doing it not by himself,
- 5:14Speaker 3: but he's doing it by himself. Like we don't have digs, right,
- 5:17Speaker 3: we don't have gag and even though like we had
- 5:20Speaker 3: that and we still lost. But Josh is continuing to
- 5:23Speaker 3: show every single year like, bro, this this boy is
- 5:26Speaker 3: like that. And you know, I am a Lamar fan
- 5:30Speaker 3: like he's he is that he is that. Saquan has
- 5:34Speaker 3: revamped his whole career and he's definitely that, but he
- 5:37Speaker 3: finally has an old line that could push that button
- 5:40Speaker 3: for him and and and I applaud that. I applaud
- 5:44Speaker 3: that because I'm a lineman and I know why Saquan
- 5:46Speaker 3: is the way he is because those boys like upfront
- 5:49Speaker 3: are really working. But when it comes down to it,
- 5:51Speaker 3: like like, let's not even be funny. Yeah, Josh Allen.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Is no jokes here is that boy? He just made
- 5:57Speaker 2: it very clear we are not telling jokes on this
- 5:59Speaker 2: stage and Josh, anybody but Josh Allen and that's just
- 6:03Speaker 2: funny business. But you know what, He's absolutely had an
- 6:05Speaker 2: incredible season. And I think, uh, it's a good thing.
- 6:09Speaker 1: When the MVP race is tight. I means you've got
- 6:11Speaker 1: talent in the league. It's fun. You know, it shouldn't
- 6:14Speaker 1: just it shouldn't be a landslide.
- 6:16Speaker 2: In my opinion. We've got way too much talent across
- 6:18Speaker 2: this league. But I love the point that you bring
- 6:20Speaker 2: up about the fact that he's done maybe more with less.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Right, do he win MVP and Office of MVB and
- 6:28Speaker 4: he went MVP and Sake won't get Office MVB?
- 6:30Speaker 3: You know, I don't. I don't know, you know, because
- 6:34Speaker 3: like I don't even know too much about it because
- 6:37Speaker 3: I only know about it because Christian wore offense v Like,
- 6:41Speaker 3: but I don't even know. But if we talk about
- 6:43Speaker 3: the most valuable player, Josh has to have one of those,
- 6:47Speaker 3: if there's two of them, because I didn't even know,
- 6:48Speaker 3: and if there was two, yeah, but I just think
- 6:51Speaker 3: that he's that. But even to spin it right like
- 6:54Speaker 3: you want it, what's crazy? There is no award for
- 6:56Speaker 3: off offensive lineing zero zero awards. You got Trent on
- 7:01Speaker 3: your team, right. I've been a young boy to Trent
- 7:05Speaker 3: my entire career. I've met Trent when I was in
- 7:07Speaker 3: college and looking at Trent, I'm like, you are it's
- 7:11Speaker 3: for you? Are that dude top to bottom. I respect it.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I bow you are that dude nine overall of Madden.
- 7:19Speaker 3: It doesn't just happen, you know, zero sacks. He's a
- 7:21Speaker 3: game changer. People game playing against him, and there's no
- 7:24Speaker 3: award for him to go on stage and and be
- 7:27Speaker 3: like I did this six years in a row. Come on, bro,
- 7:32Speaker 3: no award. So I'm saying that they gotta be thirteen
- 7:35Speaker 3: years talk about it. There has to be a protector
- 7:37Speaker 3: of the of the Year award.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Well, the quarterback can't do their job without you, particularly
- 7:41Speaker 2: or Saquon.
- 7:42Speaker 3: And we talk about two running backs, you know what
- 7:44Speaker 3: I mean, We talk about a run back and a quarterback.
- 7:46Speaker 2: You bring up a great point because it is it's
- 7:49Speaker 2: one can't happen without the other. So it's almost like
- 7:53Speaker 2: the it's a part of the award without it being
- 7:55Speaker 2: a part of because people that know football know right
- 7:58Speaker 2: Josh Allen can't be who he is out the old
- 8:02Speaker 2: line that he's got around him, Dean balk.
- 8:03Speaker 3: And Spencer Brown, Connor and McGovern.
- 8:07Speaker 1: But do you think there's a world where we ever
- 8:10Speaker 1: get that?
- 8:10Speaker 3: For you, I'm pushing for it right now, the first
- 8:13Speaker 3: person I ever heard telling you about it, And I'm
- 8:16Speaker 3: very passionate about it.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I love that.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I'm very passionate. But it will happen, and I will
- 8:20Speaker 3: spirit and it will happen because I'm in year I'm
- 8:23Speaker 3: going into year nine, and I'm gonna just keep I'm
- 8:26Speaker 3: the best left tackle in the league. And I know this,
- 8:29Speaker 3: and I can say it with confidence now, and people
- 8:31Speaker 3: that's watching can say, you know what, this was his year, right,
- 8:35Speaker 3: and me to know how hard it is to do
- 8:38Speaker 3: that for the whole year. Yeah, And then I'm thinking
- 8:42Speaker 3: of Trent, who's done it year after year after year
- 8:46Speaker 3: after year after year after year after year. I'm still
- 8:49Speaker 3: going and I've only did it about eight times. He's
- 8:51Speaker 3: in year fifteen. I still got another seven ago, right,
- 8:54Speaker 3: he is that dude. But we just need it.
- 8:57Speaker 1: And it sounds like you have a very thankless joke. Thankless, thankless.
- 9:02Speaker 3: They call us the unsung heroes, but nobody.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Be singing well, right, But again I think it's you know,
- 9:07Speaker 2: when you've got a debo and and you've got the quarterback.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Those are positions we talk about because it's very very
- 9:15Speaker 2: easy to talk about them. You know, having a masterclass
- 9:19Speaker 2: by a Saquan or a Derreck Henry, we can talk
- 9:21Speaker 2: about that.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It's a thankless job. But here's your thank you.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Thank you for doing what you have done long to
- 9:29Speaker 2: allow I appreciate Josh Allen and your team to thrive
- 9:33Speaker 2: because I think there were question marks before the season started,
- 9:36Speaker 2: losing some of the talent that you guys lost. What
- 9:39Speaker 2: is this offense going to look like? But when you've
- 9:40Speaker 2: got you and company and Josh Allen, it's all.
- 9:44Speaker 3: It takes, all it takes. I appreciate that. The flowers,
- 9:48Speaker 3: I appreciate that, but you're correct, and uh, my job
- 9:52Speaker 3: is to keep pushing at that button. And uh, we
- 9:55Speaker 3: need the skinnies to talk about it like and I'm
- 9:57Speaker 3: gonna just keep it a buck like Debo has follow
- 10:00Speaker 3: one is crazy, Josh is following is crazy. Cook all
- 10:03Speaker 3: these guys. McCaffrey, talk about your big boys.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Yeah, give a love.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Talk about me, man, talk about love. I love. Talk
- 10:10Speaker 3: about these guys because they need it.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I love.
- 10:12Speaker 3: We ain't nothing without the skinnies, and the skinnies ain't
- 10:14Speaker 3: nothing without us, absolutely, And it has to be the
- 10:18Speaker 3: big East, the bigs slagging. We're skinny guys trapped in
- 10:23Speaker 3: a big guy body.
- 10:24Speaker 1: That's fantastic.
- 10:25Speaker 3: That's all.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Love it all right, Well, thank you so much for
- 10:28Speaker 2: joining us. We are excited to be here in New Orleans.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Debo. Our final show
- 10:34Speaker 2: here at Radio Row, super Bowl fifty nine in New Orleans.
- 10:38Speaker 1: We're signing off.
- 10:39Speaker 2: We may have some more stuff up our sleeve, but
- 10:41Speaker 2: for now, it has been a wonderful season. Thank you
- 10:43Speaker 2: guys for joining us. I'm liv Moods. That's Deebo Samuel
- 10:46Speaker 2: here at super Bowl Radio Row. Thank you guys for
- 10:50Speaker 2: tuning in all season long.
- 10:51Speaker 3: See ya appreciate you, buddy,
