44: Minority Men in Veterinary Medicine
On a special episode of the podcast we’ll explore the experiences of minority men in veterinary medicine. Men represent less than 20% of veterinary students and less than 50% of veterinarians in the US. When drilling down, minority men comprise only 3.5% of veterinary students. And while the gender wage gap is an important discussion in veterinary medicine, there is racialized wage gap as well. Guests: Drs. Michael Bailey, Stephan Carey, and Aubrey Lavizzo.
