Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: at the list.
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this is what this is what the list was.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: Sills and I did it yesterday.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: We ranked and we don't have to do as many as Sills and I did.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_01]: We ranked quarterbacks based on talent alone.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_01]: So if you could just do like an NFL draft of the quarterbacks off of talent alone, I know it's it's hard because everybody gauges that a little bit different.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but what is talent?
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: What's your definition of talent?
- 0:29[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm looking for the John Mollon definition.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's the point of me doing it.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: I want to know what you're doing about that.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's horrible and hurts and you're like neither.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's the right answer.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: What is what is John gauge the talent as what does that look like and make moans eyes not my eyes or silly eyes make moans eyes I think that's valuable.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it it it
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: It depends on the player.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I believe in building around the player's talent.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: I believe in the bill power sales comment.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: Don't tell me what they can't do.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me what they can do.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: And then we'll build around the offense.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I kind of look at it as, well, how much can they do?
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I picked Herbert when we said, who would you build around?
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, that would be my top guy.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: Herbert was the guy on the line, so not that far off.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Because Barrow is injured all the time.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Barrow would be number one.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I mean, it's, it is, it is what it is, um, missy, yeah.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I need still be high.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I don't know how high.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Trying to think, um, you know, Patrick would still be high, but I do think we've reached the descent portion of the program there,
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I probably still have, you know, what, what are we trying to do when immediately or when?
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: I just, no, I don't want to engage any of that.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: I want to gauge who you think the most talented quarterbacks in football.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think my top fiber this.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Allen, I think I have one.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: I had Justin Herbert to.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think I put my homes three, even though I debated with Lamar, I put borrow four and then I put Lamar five and then I think six I had Stafford seven I think I had maybe Caleb or maybe Caleb Williams was eight or nine.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of gets a little tough after seven.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: But that was what mine looked like.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want you to mock mine.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Well, if we're just doing pure talent needs, like I wouldn't put staff at his high because of the zage, but he's still, I haven't seen the decline.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like I've seen the decline from Aaron Rogers.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't seen a huge decline from Matthew's staff a little bit from just the arm talent standpoint, but he would be very high.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: You know, just as everything a quarterback can do, and that's why he's went in the MVP at 38.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: I would still pick Herbert first because he can do everything.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: Then I picked Barrow then probably staffer.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Then probably my home, Stan Josh Allen, Josh Allen's always been a little bit too reckless for me.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: But pure talent, I was just like, man, that guy can run, he could throw, he could head, he could do a fucking everything.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: But I get where you're coming in, but he's also never been the most accurate guy in the world.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now you remember coming out of Wyoming, it was like a big problem for him.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's gotten, you usually don't see that upgrade people in proving accuracy, but you saw, against the Eagles, man.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's a win.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know where the fuck you threw that ball.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like, how does that happen?
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: Just an awful throw.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, airmail that sucker.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: You don't see that with, you know, guys who don't have accuracy problems.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: He holds on to the ball that drives me insane.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: But just from a talent standpoint.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then Jordan Love, he'd be up there.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: There's probably be the bottom 10 guys.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I probably, I'm not a big Drake may fan.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, did you put cables already?
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Caleb, yeah, Caleb's in there.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: Did you have like seven, eight or six or seven?
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: I was a count.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: I was hoping you were a count.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then yeah, that's the top tier.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: Then you're down to tier two.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: I put Drake made this the last one.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: not as high on him as some people.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: But maybe I was because he played so poorly in the playoffs and he was hurt.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe maybe I'm being too hard on him.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: But those are your probably Drake may as the last of your tier one guys.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know if I put him
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: Herbert and Lamar and and people like that, I'm going to be like, well, you can make two tiers out of that.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't mean to say, I just mean from a talent perspective.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have a pretty significant drop off.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: To probably deck with lead the next group.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Still put golf in there.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jalen would be in there, Trevor Lawrence, which is a disappointment.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he was going to be really, really good, still put Aaron in there because he knows how to fucking play what you say at the battle, Donald Baker.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's the second group, and then you're into the, basically, the shit group after that, the be honest.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Then you're into the Bryce Youngs of the world.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think Bryce would be better if he was just a little taller.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think he does have a lot of great time.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean college the same category.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, kind of right.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: But I was like, we're, we're, I don't know where you put DAC, I had him pretty high.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: He was, he was, he was, he was number one in tier two, tier two.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Daniel Jones would have to be in there, but I, I don't know what he's going to be health wise.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: How about Jayden Daniels?
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: I had him, I think.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, I forgot Jayden, yeah, he's tier one.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot Jayden, Dan.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think he's tier one?
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I had one.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if we're talking talent, he is immensely gifted.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's in the Caleb Williams territory, like same thing, it's like, but he's a little bit more refined in Caleb Williams.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: He is immensely gifted.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's got the arm count to Caleb Williams does.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: Caleb Williams makes him throw a gun on my head.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, he's got, well,
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: Caleb throws some, you know, he throws some far balls, like all of that, nobody else can throw.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, as far as functional football throws, yeah, Jayden Daniels is better.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I should have put him in the top grouping.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: But did you take a good, did you take Jayden over Kale?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think I think Caleb Williams is a shit show from a, from a technique in a, yeah, I'm understanding how to play the position stand on.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: He is a legit shit show is just more talented than, like he's complete.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: his whole success level is based on being more talented than everybody else.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: And that tends to evaporate quickly, especially at the NFL level.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: But it has been, you know, it has been help him develop.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, obviously, he had a better year one, but the completion percentage is horrible.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: So he's got to get better and no doubt.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think Caleb can boy, if he can rain it in a little bit, John was some of that stuff, he's look out.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's going to be really good.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he's got everything, but it's interesting his accuracy was actually down from his rookie season, pretty significantly now with Ben Johnson.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: When it's supposed to be easier, he just holds on to the ball so, you know, and it's Iraq, because he doesn't run that much, really, you know, he's always looking to throw
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's only extending plays to throw the ball.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: And when he when he flushes right and he just throws that rope down that that's the throw that like nobody else can make.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, all right, this plays over.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: And then he throws a rope 30 yards down the field and somebody's doing a toe tap he did that four five times last year.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: So he's definitely gifted.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's definitely, I always talked about real number one overall picks.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: He was a real number one overall pick, like Cam Ward, not a real number one overall pick.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Random and doesn't, not a real number one overall pick.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: And he does, going.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: And Jayden, Jayden was arguably a number one overall picked it up.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: Did it go number one overall?
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not type of player.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: You think there's, you think the hype on this upcoming class is too heavy right now?
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like it's a lot.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, everyone's talking about this.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the quarterback class of the center.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see how that pans out.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: If arch manics name was Arch Robinson,
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: Arch Krause, Archs McMillan, he'd be a third round pick right off the bat.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: The CJ car didn't play at Notre Dame, he'd be a third round pick.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: The Oregon kid, he might, you know, he might be legit.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: I, what I've been where I'm on a huge fan.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: But I haven't seen enough of them.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: Those are the three guys I think of at the top.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: Who else is there?
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: Who am I missing?
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you're missing it.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, but no, I mean, arch, arch manning is, if his name wasn't manning, I mean, he was, celery.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's his celery.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's like Flenora's celery.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm with you on that.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, I, I, I, I don't know.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's athletically gifted, and a kid from Ole Miss is playing a 57 season in college, give me a break with that.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: Um, no way is he a top tier NFL quarterback.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I mean, sellers is, is mathematically gifted, but no, he's got a long way to go.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I don't, I don't think Dante's more more is the one guy who I think could be a legit top five pig.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: In arch will be, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't bet on arch manning.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: Not me neither.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: We'll say, we will see Johnny Mac what happens with that.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: All right, good segment there on the quarterbacks.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: I just wanted to do it real quick here and see what Johnny Mac thought of the talent conversation.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: at the quarterback position and there's sometimes that ruffle some feathers, but I think John was mostly on point per usual there with Johnny Mac, because I went super chat, we will get to here right now.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: Here's Nile.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: We are definitely keeping Jaila's hunt over
