- 0:02Speaker 1: Party people, it's Frasier Friday. Hey, don't get up and celebrate.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Just stay seated, please.
- 0:09Speaker 2: No sudden movements.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 0:11Speaker 2: A lot of laughing. Too many movements.
- 0:15Speaker 1: No movements. Keep the back straight. No laughing.
- 0:18Speaker 2: No crying.
- 0:18Speaker 1: No showing your teeth. Nothing.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Okay?
- 0:21Speaker 1: Just keep it PG today, Toddfather. Nobody knows what we're
- 0:25Speaker 1: talking about.
- 0:27Speaker 2: All right.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Alex Bregman's family has a horse, and it's good at racing. Kratz,
- 0:35Speaker 1: this is your boy.
- 0:38Speaker 3: I mean, how, like, a horse? Like, I would love
- 0:43Speaker 3: to have taken my team to watch a horse that
- 0:47Speaker 3: my family or I own, and then it wins? Like,
- 0:52Speaker 3: the boys are juiced. Like, to be down there at
- 0:55Speaker 3: Churchill Downs, the team's all down there. How much more exciting?
- 1:00Speaker 3: I loved watching, like, the Kentucky Derby in the locker
- 1:03Speaker 3: room with the guys. I mean, the Latins are over there.
- 1:09Speaker 3: They're making the noises. Everybody's, like, trying to trade their
- 1:12Speaker 3: horse as the horse is riding. Like, I'll give you
- 1:16Speaker 3: 150 for your horse now. He's in second place. Like,
- 1:19Speaker 3: it is electric when you do that kind of stuff
- 1:21Speaker 3: as a team.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Dude, and he won. Like, come on, bro. You can't
- 1:27Speaker 2: even script it. Right? That's incredible. And, you know, it's funny.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Bregman's not a tall dude. He makes that jockey look
- 1:34Speaker 4: even smaller than what he is. Like, I think that's
- 1:36Speaker 4: the best part of it. Alex, he looks like he's
- 1:40Speaker 4: really tall. In real life, he's really not that tall.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Look at him. Oh, my God. Can we cut that?
- 1:46Speaker 4: There's another tiny guy in the pink shirt there in
- 1:48Speaker 4: the group. That guy's top. I don't know where they're
- 1:51Speaker 4: just whatever. But at the end of the day. Pretty,
- 1:55Speaker 4: pretty cool moment. Like, that's the cool stuff that brings
- 1:58Speaker 4: the boys together for a nice little playoff run coming
- 2:01Speaker 4: forward here.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Production lady, can we make sure we cut that? September 18th,
- 2:08Speaker 3: one minute into the show, so when Bracken comes on,
- 2:10Speaker 3: we remind him that Todd said he looks like a jockey.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Oh, man. Here we go. Yeah, listen. He knows I'm
- 2:21Speaker 2: all in fun, but yes. He could be a jockey. Yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 2: he could. Definitely.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I'm still shocked about the production lady. Producer lady. Sorry,
- 2:29Speaker 1: producer lady. Very formal.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Eric's all over the place, man.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's formal Friday. But here's the jockey getting tossed around.
- 2:41Speaker 1: That's Churchill Downs. I don't know much about the details
- 2:44Speaker 1: of horse racing, but that's a pretty big place to
- 2:47Speaker 1: win a horse race. That's not your local... pony show.
- 2:55Speaker 2: That's really cool.
- 2:56Speaker 3: That's not the south philly tracks that i drive by
- 2:59Speaker 3: every time i go to todd's house i forget what
- 3:02Speaker 3: that place is called but horse racing is fun to
- 3:05Speaker 3: watch those dudes get after it.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Well congrats the cubs had a nice little team bonding
- 3:11Speaker 1: moment to go there with bregman and watch his pony
- 3:14Speaker 1: win the race now let's get to some other ponies Yeah,
- 3:22Speaker 1: let's charge. The Red Sox met up with the Rangers
- 3:24Speaker 1: and we'll get to what happened in the result of
- 3:27Speaker 1: the game. But particularly within this game, Wilson Contreras hit
- 3:31Speaker 1: by a pitch for the billionth time in his career
- 3:34Speaker 1: because he is very close to the plate. That at
- 3:37Speaker 1: least has to do with some of the times that
- 3:39Speaker 1: he has hit by a pitch. Most of the time
- 3:40Speaker 1: I would make the case. But in true Wilson fashion,
- 3:45Speaker 1: he is vocal about it. First off, on the injury
- 3:48Speaker 1: side of things, he's been their best player this season. right?
- 3:52Speaker 1: I think that's undisputed. And this is the quote that
- 3:56Speaker 1: drew attention. He said, if nobody does anything about it,
- 3:59Speaker 1: I'm going to keep getting hit. That's the way I
- 4:00Speaker 1: see it. That's it. So it's a bruise after some testing,
- 4:05Speaker 1: but initially he said he thought it was fractured. So
- 4:07Speaker 1: he said it felt like a fracture and he had
- 4:09Speaker 1: fractured that hand before his hand went numb for five minutes.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And he said, of course, he's going to get more
- 4:15Speaker 1: testing and imaging and it might take a couple of days.
- 4:18Speaker 1: He said maybe even a week, maybe 10 days. I
- 4:20Speaker 1: don't know, but he was feeling better. I mean, that's
- 4:23Speaker 1: a little concerning since the playoffs are around the corner
- 4:25Speaker 1: and they're going to need him to keep doing what
- 4:27Speaker 1: he's been doing on the field. Look at the OPS,
- 4:29Speaker 1: the average, the homers, the whole deal. He plays a
- 4:31Speaker 1: mean first base. So Kratz, first off, we'll show this
- 4:37Speaker 1: while you're talking. He crowds the plate. Is there anything
- 4:42Speaker 1: that you need to tell your pitcher to do differently?
- 4:45Speaker 1: when facing Wilson Contreras? And would you be pissed if
- 4:48Speaker 1: the Red Sox were retaliating against the Rangers in a
- 4:51Speaker 1: game for Wilson getting hit?
- 4:55Speaker 3: Yeah, pissed. I don't know. I mean, look, you hit
- 4:58Speaker 3: one of their guys. If the team wants to retaliate,
- 5:01Speaker 3: they do it. The guy's got to come out in
- 5:03Speaker 3: the media and say it. Maybe it's kind of like
- 5:08Speaker 3: you handle it. You handle it yourself. Maybe your teammates say,
- 5:11Speaker 3: you know what? He's our best hitter. We have to retaliate.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Like this picture right here with the line on the
- 5:17Speaker 3: inside of the plate, this is why he's getting hit.
- 5:20Speaker 3: There are plenty of dudes that get hit. There are
- 5:23Speaker 3: plenty of dudes that stand close to the plate that
- 5:26Speaker 3: get hit and cry less than Wilson. Could this have
- 5:31Speaker 3: been an absolute just death play for him to break
- 5:37Speaker 3: his hand?
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:39Speaker 3: If he's concerned about getting hit in the hand, he
- 5:44Speaker 3: can't sit out over the plate looking for breaking balls
- 5:48Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden a heater that doesn't
- 5:52Speaker 3: break catches him on the hand. He's second in the
- 5:57Speaker 3: game right now, active leaders. He has 153 hit-by-pitches. Starling
- 6:02Speaker 3: Marte is up there. Freddie Freeman is up there. How
- 6:05Speaker 3: many times... Do we hear those guys complaining about it?
- 6:09Speaker 3: Let's see who else is up there. Anthony Rizzo was
- 6:13Speaker 3: this guy. Rarely was there like, oh, we got to
- 6:16Speaker 3: have retaliation. When you're close to the plate, you're going
- 6:19Speaker 3: to get hit. That's the reality of it. But he's
- 6:23Speaker 3: taking exception to it. It's also kind of a ploy.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Get that ball out of a plate where I can
- 6:27Speaker 3: do some damage.
- 6:30Speaker 1: No, we didn't plan this. And also, no, Kratz, we're
- 6:32Speaker 1: not wearing the same exact Mack Weldon shirts. I've got
- 6:35Speaker 1: a green and you've got the Heather blue.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I do.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I do.
- 6:39Speaker 3: And the whole array of colors, there's so many to
- 6:43Speaker 3: choose from with Mack Weldon and not just in your shirts,
- 6:46Speaker 3: in everything that you get.
- 6:48Speaker 1: We also should talk about the Air Knit X collection.
- 6:51Speaker 1: It is soft material. It is a summer staple that
- 6:55Speaker 1: can carry you into the fall. Their lightest fabric fused

- 7:25Speaker 1: That's M-A-C-K-W-E-L-D-O-N.com, code F-O-U-L.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, listen....
- 7:34Speaker 4: That's a pitch you shouldn't be swinging at anyway, too.
- 7:37Speaker 4: So it's like, I'm not condoning anybody getting hit. That
- 7:40Speaker 4: ball's inside, up, and in. That's a pitch I would
- 7:43Speaker 4: swing at and be like, God Almighty, what am I doing?
- 7:46Speaker 4: But I would be getting jammed because I was so
- 7:51Speaker 4: far off the plate. You brought up Anthony Rizzo a
- 7:54Speaker 4: little bit ago. I think he wanted that record so badly.
- 7:59Speaker 4: It was so funny watching him. break the single season
- 8:02Speaker 4: record and whatever else. Yeah, I mean, I think it's
- 8:07Speaker 4: like a cry for his team, honestly. I think it's
- 8:11Speaker 4: a cry for, yo, dude, somebody needs to help me out.
- 8:15Speaker 4: But should they? Nowadays, no. Because, you know, it's not
- 8:24Speaker 4: like it used to be back in the day. He's
- 8:26Speaker 4: going public because... Maybe he, maybe, and again, this is
- 8:30Speaker 4: hearsay from me thinking, he's talked to a couple of
- 8:33Speaker 4: the dogs in there by, hey, man, somebody pick me
- 8:35Speaker 4: up here. I keep getting hit. And it just hasn't happened.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Maybe he has like, you know what, I got to
- 8:40Speaker 4: say something to the news. Maybe they'll kickstart some of
- 8:42Speaker 4: the boys in here.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 8:46Speaker 4: But just thinking about in the past and stuff like that,
- 8:49Speaker 4: like when I always went to the news, there was,
- 8:53Speaker 4: you know, either want to interview me or not, but
- 8:55Speaker 4: there was a reason sometimes I would talk to him.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Maybe to fire a certain person up or.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Light a fuel in one person, whatever it was. And
- 9:06Speaker 4: it wasn't to hurt anybody. It was just maybe to
- 9:09Speaker 4: get the team going a little bit. But, yeah, I
- 9:14Speaker 4: think it's a– and I'm not saying he's crying, but
- 9:16Speaker 4: I think it's a cry for him trying to tell
- 9:19Speaker 4: the boys, like, hey, listen, I'm sick of it. Somebody
- 9:22Speaker 4: needs to pick me up here. And at the end
- 9:24Speaker 4: of the day– Yeah, he exaggerated. It might take two days,
- 9:27Speaker 4: a week, ten days.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I don't know. Pissed off. He's pissed off. Does he
- 9:32Speaker 2: have every right to be pissed off? Yes.
- 9:34Speaker 4: But again, pitchers have every right to go inside on
- 9:38Speaker 4: anybody no matter where they are on the plate. So
- 9:41Speaker 4: it's that back and forth battle of who's right and
- 9:44Speaker 4: who's wrong. I don't think anybody's wrong in this depiction
- 9:47Speaker 4: of what happened. I think ultimately if you're getting hit,
- 9:51Speaker 4: you're going to be annoyed. But if you're a pitcher,
- 9:54Speaker 4: you can't stop throwing inside. And even if you miss
- 9:57Speaker 4: by this much, you still you got it. You got
- 9:58Speaker 4: to establish that inside corner.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 10:01Speaker 3: And if he's going to not lean out, then that's
- 10:04Speaker 3: an advantage for you because it opens up, opens up
- 10:06Speaker 3: the pitches away. The reality is what we said right now,
- 10:10Speaker 3: Wilson Contreras is their dude. He is their guy in
- 10:12Speaker 3: the lineup. He's the guy that makes this offense go
- 10:15Speaker 3: because he's having the best year. I'm not saying Roman
- 10:17Speaker 3: Anthony can't be. I'm not saying other guys can't step up.
- 10:21Speaker 3: But every team I've ever been on, whenever there's been
- 10:23Speaker 3: retaliation because somebody's hitting our best player and then we're
- 10:28Speaker 3: going to go and hit their best player, that stuff's
- 10:31Speaker 3: taken care of. So either the Red Sox as a
- 10:36Speaker 3: team are like, whatever. Sorry, Wilson gets hit a lot.
- 10:41Speaker 3: We don't feel like we need to retaliate at all.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Corey Seager, who is their best player, or Josh Young,
- 10:47Speaker 3: who's swinging the best for that team right now. There's
- 10:51Speaker 3: a reason they don't feel like they need to retaliate.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Maybe it's because they don't feel like it's that big
- 10:55Speaker 3: of a deal that he's getting hit. So he comes
- 10:57Speaker 3: out and says something, and the guy's already new. Or
- 11:01Speaker 3: else the pitchers are just like, we weren't watching anything.
- 11:05Speaker 3: And Chad Tracy was like, we would never do that.
- 11:08Speaker 3: To me, I don't think that's the case. Every team
- 11:11Speaker 3: I've ever been on. The dudes step up for the boys,
- 11:14Speaker 3: especially when your best hitter gets hit.
- 11:17Speaker 1: They stepped up at the plate. Trevor Story hit a dinger.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I mean, you want some revenge? They definitely played a part.
- 11:26Speaker 1: It's one game, but it was a huge swing, right?
- 11:30Speaker 1: The Rangers are leading, and I had the number they
- 11:33Speaker 1: threw out there. At the time, 63-1 when leading after
- 11:37Speaker 1: seven innings. That's how good they've been at. shutting down
- 11:39Speaker 1: games in the last couple innings. And Jacob Latz has
- 11:43Speaker 1: been great. We talked about him and gave him cred
- 11:45Speaker 1: the other day when he had the five-out save. They lost.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Latz blew it. Trevor Story hit a three-run homer. Red
- 11:52Speaker 1: Sox won the game 4-3. Look at where the Rangers
- 11:56Speaker 1: are at. They're now one game back of Houston, two
- 11:59Speaker 1: games back of the wild card. That one game back
- 12:01Speaker 1: of Houston is really two games back because they need
- 12:03Speaker 1: to pass them since the Astros hold the tiebreaker. That's
- 12:07Speaker 1: a problem. It's a big loss for the Rangers. We're
- 12:10Speaker 1: about to enter the final week of the season, Todd.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I mean, message sent there.
- 12:14Speaker 4: But this isn't the first time in this month. The
- 12:18Speaker 4: Grom pitched a hell of a game. They bring somebody in.
- 12:21Speaker 4: I know their bullpen is good.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I love that.
- 12:22Speaker 4: But they're losing these games in a big time of
- 12:26Speaker 4: the year. Where it just can't happen. It just cannot happen.
- 12:32Speaker 1: They won the DeGrom game, though. At least the last one.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Maybe you're talking about a different one. The last DeGrom
- 12:37Speaker 1: game was 4-2. Maybe the time before that.
- 12:40Speaker 4: The time before that. But these games in September, the
- 12:42Speaker 4: ones where you're like, shoot. God, we needed to have
- 12:46Speaker 4: that game. And you go home and you're like, damn it.
- 12:50Speaker 4: At least I thought that way. Kratzy, I think, would
- 12:53Speaker 4: be on the same page. Wouldn't be able to sleep
- 12:55Speaker 4: at night knowing like, two games back in the wild
- 12:58Speaker 4: card right now, that is so hard to figure out.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Things got to go right. Like that's huge. That's absolutely huge.
- 13:06Speaker 4: And it's devastating for this Ranger team. And I, you know,
- 13:09Speaker 4: these mistakes right now, I don't see them getting in.
- 13:13Speaker 4: I don't see them getting in right now.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Astros won yesterday. Cause this would happen. I mean,
- 13:18Speaker 1: you looked at the division and you were like, Oh,
- 13:20Speaker 1: it's toast like a week ago. And then the Rangers
- 13:22Speaker 1: picked up some games and the Astros were fading. And
- 13:25Speaker 1: then all of a sudden you look at the, Division
- 13:27Speaker 1: that nobody wants, the AL West. And it was tight again, right?
- 13:31Speaker 1: Mariners are a mess. We'll talk about them later in
- 13:33Speaker 1: the show. They're done for a while now, for a
- 13:35Speaker 1: couple weeks. Rangers, though, I mean, they had a shot here.
- 13:39Speaker 1: And then yesterday, the Astros pick up a big dub
- 13:42Speaker 1: to put themselves back in sole possession of first place.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Jordan hit his 40th home run. They had five solo
- 13:46Speaker 1: homers in that win yesterday.
- 13:48Speaker 2: So, crats.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I mean, we're going to be doing this. We only
- 13:51Speaker 1: have a week and change left in the season. So,
- 13:53Speaker 1: every time we have a show, we're probably going to
- 13:55Speaker 1: be reporting on the AL West division.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Yes, we're going to be reporting on a division where
- 14:00Speaker 3: the run differential is a negative for all five teams.
- 14:06Speaker 3: That is a crazy stat, whether I like run differential
- 14:09Speaker 3: or not. Every team has a negative run differential. The
- 14:14Speaker 3: Rangers losing this one, I would, yes, in the moment, Todd,
- 14:17Speaker 3: I would agree with you that in September, like, oh,
- 14:20Speaker 3: that's a huge one to lose. The fact that they're
- 14:24Speaker 3: 63-1 throughout the entire season from the seventh inning on,
- 14:28Speaker 3: Like Nats fans need to become Rangers fans because what
- 14:31Speaker 3: they've watched from the seventh inning on has been the
- 14:33Speaker 3: exact opposite. And we have a Nats pitcher coming on
- 14:36Speaker 3: later and Eric Coleman, but it's, it's something that this
- 14:42Speaker 3: is the time of year where rookies are like, Oh
- 14:45Speaker 3: my gosh, this is such a big game. I can't
- 14:47Speaker 3: even think about anything else. And the veteran presence on
- 14:51Speaker 3: teams helps you realize, look, Every one of these games
- 14:55Speaker 3: this season has mattered. Every one of those 64 other
- 14:58Speaker 3: games before last night that they only had blown one
- 15:01Speaker 3: or only had lost one from the seventh inning on
- 15:06Speaker 3: has been huge. So it helps you bounce back. And
- 15:11Speaker 3: the reason you have to bounce back is you have
- 15:13Speaker 3: one off day for the rest of the year and
- 15:15Speaker 3: you have an uphill climb the rest of the year against,
- 15:18Speaker 3: in my opinion, some teams that are playing pretty decent
- 15:21Speaker 3: in the Jays, the Mets, and the Twins.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Yep. Yeah.
- 15:26Speaker 1: The winning percentage of the teams they have down the
- 15:29Speaker 1: stretch here is not great, but the Jays are still
- 15:32Speaker 1: trying to stay alive. Right. And the American league East
- 15:35Speaker 1: has been really good. The Mets are playing. This is
- 15:37Speaker 1: not the time you want to play the Mets. I
- 15:39Speaker 1: know they were just coming off a crappy series, but
- 15:41Speaker 1: they've been much better the last couple of months. Like
- 15:43Speaker 1: this is not the best time to run into them.
- 15:46Speaker 1: And then, yeah, the twins are, I mean, the twins
- 15:48Speaker 1: have been pretty bad the last couple of months, so
- 15:50Speaker 1: maybe that helps, but. Overall, it's going to be good.
- 15:52Speaker 1: We'll follow that. Kratz mentioned rookies, so that reminds me
- 15:55Speaker 1: right on our way out here. Can we show the
- 15:57Speaker 1: rookie dress-up that the Red Sox are rolling with? Red
- 16:00Speaker 1: Sox are like five-ish games up and down on whoever's
- 16:03Speaker 1: above and below them in the wildcard. So they are
- 16:05Speaker 1: very firmly planted in that seat. So have a little fun.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I mean, they do this regardless, even if it was
- 16:11Speaker 1: a tight race. But the rookie dress-up got really creative,
- 16:15Speaker 1: and that includes manager, still interim for now, Chad Tracy
- 16:20Speaker 1: dressed up as Woody from Toy Story. I see Mario
- 16:22Speaker 1: and Luigi. I see the, what are they called? The
- 16:25Speaker 1: Oompa Loompas from Willy Wonka. Who's our bottom left, dude?
- 16:30Speaker 3: Lorax. It's a Lorax, Peyton Tolley. Wow. My question is,
- 16:36Speaker 3: it's the picture of Chad Tracy dressed up.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 16:43Speaker 3: We even had Ron Washington on talking about Tony Vitello
- 16:46Speaker 3: in spring training. Do you dress up a manager? You
- 16:50Speaker 3: dress up trainers. You dress up coaches. Do you dress
- 16:54Speaker 3: the manager up? Good for Chad Tracy. Not, I mean,
- 16:57Speaker 3: not being against it. It's just a, it's a question
- 17:00Speaker 3: about the respect level of a manager. And maybe he's
- 17:05Speaker 3: one of those guys who's like, I love, I love
- 17:08Speaker 3: having a good, a good laugh, but also why is
- 17:11Speaker 3: his office in the visiting manager with the Red Sox logo?
- 17:17Speaker 3: I feel like it, I don't know. Something's off about
- 17:20Speaker 3: that picture for me, but who knows?
- 17:25Speaker 1: You're saying why is he in the visiting manager office?
- 17:28Speaker 3: Why is Chad Tracy dressed up in the visiting manager
- 17:33Speaker 3: with the Red Sox logo behind him on the wall,
- 17:38Speaker 3: but also on the door? I don't think.
- 17:41Speaker 1: The Red Sox were in Arlington.
- 17:44Speaker 3: I know they're in Texas, but... These pictures, this wasn't
- 17:49Speaker 3: from Arlington. This was clearly from home because they have
- 17:52Speaker 3: the Boston logo above Peyton Tolley there with the Lorax.
- 17:56Speaker 2: No, it says visiting manager on it, though. Right.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Why is he in the other manager office? I don't know.
- 18:04Speaker 1: I think we're getting a little too blues clues on
- 18:06Speaker 1: everyone here.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I'm just asking.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Maybe they were in the visiting side in Boston doing it.
- 18:14Speaker 2: I don't know, man. This is weird.
- 18:16Speaker 5: Anyway, sorry.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Sorry, I'm watching.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Wait, one more point on this from someone who has
- 18:21Speaker 1: never sniffed a major league clubhouse as a player or
- 18:25Speaker 1: any member of an organization. But do you think it's
- 18:28Speaker 1: different now? If this is all the old school, more
- 18:31Speaker 1: grisly managers and they really run the ship, they're probably
- 18:35Speaker 1: not dressing up. But now there's some benefit to being
- 18:38Speaker 1: a manager who's kind of with the boys. And that
- 18:40Speaker 1: even can be like, hey, front office is saying this.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Let's do our own, not do our own thing. But
- 18:46Speaker 1: does any of that check with you, Kratz, that a
- 18:50Speaker 1: newer manager might want to relate with players in a
- 18:53Speaker 1: different way?
- 18:54Speaker 3: Totally will. I mean, he'll totally manage... If I were
- 19:00Speaker 3: a manager today, I would manage way different than Charlie
- 19:03Speaker 3: Emanuel would have managed or John Russell would have managed.
- 19:06Speaker 3: My first managers in the big leagues. I think if
- 19:08Speaker 3: AJ would manage, he would way... He would manage way
- 19:12Speaker 3: differently than Tom Kelly did.
- 19:15Speaker 2: But.
- 19:17Speaker 3: And I'm posing, and I'm not saying I know the answer.
- 19:20Speaker 3: The question I'm posing is I'm leaning on Ron Washington's
- 19:23Speaker 3: comments in spring training. Do you dress up the manager?
- 19:26Speaker 3: If I was the manager, I would love to dress up. Look,
- 19:30Speaker 3: this isn't going to lose any respect. I've already built
- 19:32Speaker 3: up a ton of respect from the year. Like, if
- 19:35Speaker 3: you want to dress me up, like, let's get it.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Just clip that last part, please. If you want to
- 19:41Speaker 1: dress me up, let's get it. Thank you. Appreciate you.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Thank you, Frankie.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Thank you, Frankie. We love you. All right, let's get to... SeatGeek.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I mean, this is what you dream of. If you
- 19:58Speaker 1: love watching playoff baseball in September, if you love rooting
- 20:01Speaker 1: for a team that's on the bubble, then look up
- 20:03Speaker 1: some matchups this weekend. Let's do it.
- 20:05Speaker 2: What do we have?
- 20:06Speaker 1: What are we excited about people?
- 20:08Speaker 2: This weekend.
- 20:08Speaker 1: I mean, we were just talking about the Rangers. Everything
- 20:10Speaker 1: they're doing has a playoff feel to it. So if
- 20:13Speaker 1: you want to check out the Rangers and Blue Jays
- 20:15Speaker 1: and watch a team potentially truly fall apart and out
- 20:19Speaker 1: of the mix this weekend, you can certainly do that
- 20:21Speaker 1: and grab a seat in Arlington. Because at this point,
- 20:25Speaker 1: I mean, Kratz, it's not like they have to win
- 20:27Speaker 1: every game to win out, but you need to put
- 20:29Speaker 1: together a stretch that's going to look like So what
- 20:31Speaker 1: are we at? Is it nine games left for them?
- 20:33Speaker 1: So it's got to look like six and three, seven
- 20:35Speaker 1: and two. I know you can say, oh, well, whatever
- 20:37Speaker 1: the Astros do, you just have to do a little
- 20:38Speaker 1: bit better. But yeah, for them to focus on what
- 20:40Speaker 1: they need to do, you're going to have to probably
- 20:43Speaker 1: take this series this weekend at the least against Toronto.
- 20:48Speaker 2: 100%. 100%.
- 20:49Speaker 3: The Astros will probably go 500. And I'm not saying
- 20:52Speaker 3: that because I know the matchups or anything like that.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I'm just, look at their record. 77 and 76. They're
- 20:57Speaker 3: probably going to go 500. They'll finish one game over.
- 21:03Speaker 3: 500 for the season. I guess that's, yeah. No, that's
- 21:07Speaker 3: not possible. So it'll be two games over. 500 eventually.
- 21:10Speaker 3: To me, it's just like, do the Rangers want it?
- 21:16Speaker 3: because they're going to have to do everything they can.
- 21:18Speaker 3: The reason the Lats, I think, gave it up last
- 21:19Speaker 3: night was because he'd gotten a five-out save in this
- 21:23Speaker 3: same series. You can't just keep going to the well. Like,
- 21:26Speaker 3: it's not going to always work. So somebody has to
- 21:29Speaker 3: step up for the Rangers, and I think it's going
- 21:31Speaker 3: to be this offense. I have a sneaky suspicion this
- 21:34Speaker 3: offense is going to do something, because I think you
- 21:36Speaker 3: want to face Dylan Cease right now, if you ever
- 21:38Speaker 3: want to face him, because he's shown he's a little
- 21:41Speaker 3: bit human right now.
- 21:44Speaker 1: And Godfather. Just looking around at some other spots, tell
- 21:47Speaker 1: me if you'd grab a seat, right? Because you have
- 21:51Speaker 1: Houston having to win some games. They take on the
- 21:54Speaker 1: Atlanta Braves this weekend. That's not easy. And then you
- 21:58Speaker 1: have the White Sox trying to string wins together. They
- 22:00Speaker 1: did win yesterday. That was a good start for them
- 22:02Speaker 1: to take down Fromber and the Tigers. But they've got
- 22:05Speaker 1: to try and keep doing their thing this weekend against Detroit.
- 22:09Speaker 1: So any seats that you're going to purchase?
- 22:13Speaker 4: I think you can nickel and dime all of them, honestly,
- 22:16Speaker 4: because there's one team besides KC versus Pittsburgh that you
- 22:22Speaker 4: can go to and be like, all right, well, we
- 22:24Speaker 4: know this team has to win. So I'm interested in
- 22:28Speaker 4: the White Sox, man. Are they going to figure out
- 22:30Speaker 4: a way to win the division or not? So I
- 22:33Speaker 4: guess I'd want to go see them play to see
- 22:36Speaker 4: if they're going to finish out this year strong.
- 22:40Speaker 2: I mean.
- 22:41Speaker 4: You can't really go wrong with any games. Boston, Tampa Bay,
- 22:44Speaker 4: both are in. Why watch them? Is Tampa Bay going
- 22:47Speaker 4: to fizzle and let the Yankees try and find a
- 22:49Speaker 4: way to win? I don't think so, but Boston can
- 22:52Speaker 4: go on a little run and win three, four in
- 22:54Speaker 4: a row, and next thing you know, the Yanks are
- 22:56Speaker 4: playing them two games back.
- 22:58Speaker 2: So we'll see.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and the Yanks can end the season for the Diamondbacks.
- 23:04Speaker 1: They're on life support at this point.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I mean, it's done.
- 23:09Speaker 1: But, yeah, it didn't work out for them.
- 23:11Speaker 2: This year.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Needed full attendance from Cattell Marte. Too soon?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Sorry. Sorry. It's never too soon.
- 23:21Speaker 1: You look back at your season and you feel like
- 23:23Speaker 1: you needed an extra game or two. That's why we
- 23:25Speaker 1: talk about this stuff.
- 23:27Speaker 2: He's got to find a new team.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I don't think he's going to.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Ten and five.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Well, he can.
- 23:34Speaker 1: He can accept a trade, but the Diamondbacks are going
- 23:38Speaker 1: to move him. Who's going to trade for him? That's
- 23:40Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Are they going to move him? Penny's
- 23:44Speaker 1: on the dollar.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Penny's on the dollar.
- 23:48Speaker 2: He's a stud, too. I agree. Jesus. I know. Yeah,
- 23:50Speaker 2: he is.
- 23:50Speaker 1: But you're going to have to live with him. It's
- 23:53Speaker 1: the problem, child. You're just going to have to do
- 23:55Speaker 1: your thing and hope that he shows up. On the
- 23:59Speaker 1: topic of showing up, SeatGeek will help you out. All right? So,
- 24:03Speaker 1: it's the official ticket marketplace of Major League Baseball. If
- 24:06Speaker 1: you are interested in hitting a game this weekend or
- 24:08Speaker 1: next week before– The regular season concludes. Then this is
- 24:12Speaker 1: a good spot for you. If you haven't used the
- 24:14Speaker 1: code yet, it's still there for you. Territory one, zero.
- 24:16Speaker 1: It helps support the show too. So you can check
- 24:19Speaker 1: it out in the description of each episode of FT
- 24:22Speaker 1: and you can click it. And then the code gets
- 24:24Speaker 1: automatically added to your account. So you can use it tonight,
- 24:26Speaker 1: tomorrow for playoffs. If your team's in it. All right,
- 24:29Speaker 1: we're back. We'll have, you know, Cyrus joining us pretty soon.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I'm excited. We were geeking out this morning on the
- 24:36Speaker 1: little call we do before each show about what the
- 24:39Speaker 1: Rays are doing that no one else is doing, and
- 24:41Speaker 1: also how they were able to fix Freddy Peralta in
- 24:43Speaker 1: five minutes. Basically, like, one of the quicker transformations that
- 24:49Speaker 1: you could see. And I don't want to get into
- 24:52Speaker 1: it too much.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Don't bury the lead.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Well, there's multiple leads with that. I mean, there are
- 25:01Speaker 1: a few things that he changed pretty quickly. All right,
- 25:03Speaker 1: let's get to Steve Cohen. Steve Cohen. He actually offered
- 25:08Speaker 1: a response to a viral video that a fan posted. Actually,
- 25:12Speaker 1: the fan posted that in response to the tweet that
- 25:18Speaker 1: Steve sent that was replying to our tweet. So follow
- 25:21Speaker 1: me here. We post something that said that was from
- 25:24Speaker 1: David Lennon from Newsday, who said that it was hard
- 25:27Speaker 1: to find David Stearns. Right. And then Cohen replied that
- 25:30Speaker 1: he saw Stearns. And then This fan online, NJDMets, says
- 25:37Speaker 1: the owner of the team who clapped when the opposing
- 25:39Speaker 1: team tied the game last night and he had video
- 25:41Speaker 1: of Cohen applauding for Pete Alonso when he hit his
- 25:45Speaker 1: 300th homer. And then Steve Cohen said to Mike Puma
- 25:51Speaker 1: of the New York Post, it was his 300th. I
- 25:53Speaker 1: got to give him props. Do we have a problem
- 25:57Speaker 1: with this?
- 25:57Speaker 2: This obviously is just.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Dominating the New York radio stations for the last 48 hours.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Todd, was that him standing up at the end there? Yes.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Are you?
- 26:09Speaker 1: So, so here's the question. Just nice and simple, right?
- 26:12Speaker 1: Are you okay with your owner applauding a milestone for
- 26:15Speaker 1: a player that meant a lot? Or does he have
- 26:18Speaker 1: to sit and be like, nah, I'm not respecting that.
- 26:24Speaker 4: Uh, Off the top of my head, honestly, I think
- 26:28Speaker 4: he should have kept that to himself and then maybe afterwards.
- 26:31Speaker 2: You know.
- 26:33Speaker 4: I don't mind him going down and seeing him on
- 26:35Speaker 4: the field the next day and be like, hey, man,
- 26:37Speaker 4: congratulations on 300.
- 26:39Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 26:40Speaker 4: I don't think it's a really good look. But at
- 26:43Speaker 4: the same time, he did give his respects to him.
- 26:46Speaker 4: I mean, a standing O for it?
- 26:50Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm not totally on board with it.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Kratz, let me ask a follow. Is there any case
- 26:57Speaker 1: where it would be okay? If you don't agree, is
- 27:00Speaker 1: there any case where Pete hits his 500th? Pete breaks
- 27:04Speaker 1: the home run record. Like, are owners allowed to applaud
- 27:07Speaker 1: other players? Because this is the part I did some
- 27:09Speaker 1: thinking about it. And at first I was like, ah,
- 27:11Speaker 1: that's not a great look. And then I was like,
- 27:13Speaker 1: he's not applauding a random time. Like, he's applauding a
- 27:16Speaker 1: 300th home run. Am I giving him too much grace?
- 27:18Speaker 1: Because many fans actually were like, ah, this is going
- 27:21Speaker 1: to dominate. all the BS on New York radio for
- 27:24Speaker 1: a while. And I don't give a crap, but do you,
- 27:26Speaker 1: do you want to see your owner do this or
- 27:29Speaker 1: not to acknowledge a milestone from a former player?
- 27:32Speaker 3: I love it as a baseball fan. Cause he is
- 27:34Speaker 3: a fan of baseball. And I also love the fact
- 27:38Speaker 3: that he did it because this man spent time in
- 27:41Speaker 3: his home. Pete Alonzo is not just some guy coming
- 27:44Speaker 3: in for his 300th Homer. He spent time in his home.
- 27:47Speaker 3: They've had conversations. So I am totally fine with it.
- 27:50Speaker 3: And I love it. Steve, said it with his chest.
- 27:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and to button this up, if it was like
- 27:58Speaker 4: a not, like, I think Mark made a good point here, man.
- 28:01Speaker 4: I think honestly, and I'm getting the text message from him, like, 9-2, yes,
- 28:07Speaker 4: standing ovation. Hey, man, great. We're still winning 9-3. But
- 28:12Speaker 4: that was the tie to get him in the ninth inning.
- 28:14Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm not totally into it.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Like, I'm not mad that I'm going to lose sleep
- 28:19Speaker 4: over it, but If you're a coach and you look
- 28:22Speaker 4: to your left and you see your guy that's supposed
- 28:26Speaker 4: to be on your side and you're like, oh, okay.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Interesting. That would irk me a little bit. Yeah, for sure.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Hold up.
- 28:37Speaker 1: But the Mets season has been 9-2 since May. You
- 28:41Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? It's a meaningless game.
- 28:44Speaker 2: I know.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I'm pointing that out. Not to the people on the field.
- 28:49Speaker 1: The fans aren't worried about how the people on the
- 28:51Speaker 1: field are feeling. That's just why the fans on the
- 28:54Speaker 1: stands are able to applaud Pete all weekend, and they
- 28:57Speaker 1: should feel okay with that, right? That's the fans' right.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Just like players always say, oh, it's the fans' right
- 29:01Speaker 1: to boo me if they feel like I need to
- 29:03Speaker 1: be booed. You might not agree with it, but I
- 29:06Speaker 1: don't know. That's my take. Kate Cavalli, we saw the
- 29:10Speaker 1: news yesterday, is deep in extension talks. So that's a
- 29:16Speaker 1: good one. Just for a minute here. Cade Cavalli has
- 29:20Speaker 1: been one of the most underrated pitchers in the sport
- 29:23Speaker 1: this year, especially because he's come on late. He was good,
- 29:26Speaker 1: but now he's been ace level or, hold on, number
- 29:29Speaker 1: one quality starting pitcher for the Washington Nationals down the stretch.
- 29:34Speaker 1: He's been through his fair share of injuries. Todd Fother
- 29:37Speaker 1: didn't come right away for him. So this is one
- 29:39Speaker 1: of those perfect scenarios where most pitchers should keep an
- 29:44Speaker 1: extension in mind because the arm is a ticking time bomb.
- 29:47Speaker 1: If that gets thrown your way and there's any kind
- 29:48Speaker 1: of comps that align, most pitchers should be taking extensions
- 29:53Speaker 1: early on in their careers. You just don't know what's.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Going to happen.
- 29:55Speaker 1: When you factor in Cavalli and the injuries that he's
- 29:58Speaker 1: had and how it didn't all come to him in
- 30:00Speaker 1: five minutes to make it to what he is now.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I feel like this is going to get done in
- 30:04Speaker 1: the next 24 to 48 hours. I think he's, yeah,
- 30:07Speaker 1: he's scheduled to pitch tonight. So I would imagine it
- 30:10Speaker 1: might get done before that.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I would hope so. All of a sudden, if
- 30:17Speaker 2: that's on your mind, you don't want that on your
- 30:19Speaker 2: mind while you're going out there.
- 30:20Speaker 4: I mean, he's a professional. Anytime you see his name
- 30:24Speaker 4: on there, it doesn't matter who he's pitching against. Like,
- 30:27Speaker 4: That's a name we know. That's a name we love.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Comfortable. I think of comfort when he's out there.
- 30:32Speaker 4: It seems like every time I watch him pitch, he's
- 30:35Speaker 4: always battling against whoever it is, whether he wins or loses.
- 30:39Speaker 2: This is just a dude. He's a dude.
- 30:41Speaker 4: Honestly, you just want around and you want him to
- 30:44Speaker 4: pitch every time. He'd be great in any lineup. I
- 30:49Speaker 4: feel like he's been pitching for 20 years. I don't
- 30:51Speaker 4: know why that name just been around. So if it happens,
- 30:54Speaker 4: hopefully good for him. Get it while you can, man.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Take it. Those who got them, get them, get them.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Keep them. Let's go. I love it.
- 31:03Speaker 3: And it's something to build on for this rotation for
- 31:06Speaker 3: the coming years, which they have to do a lot
- 31:07Speaker 3: of work to put a rotation on this team that
- 31:11Speaker 3: clearly has emerged as a bunch of hitters. But another name,
- 31:15Speaker 3: when you talk about very underrated people don't really know
- 31:17Speaker 3: that much about Cade Cavalli, guy who pitched last night
- 31:20Speaker 3: for the Angels, Walbert Ureña.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Look it up.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Also a very– much younger pitcher that has emerged this
- 31:28Speaker 3: year and I don't think people know a lot about.
- 31:38Speaker 1: It's all smiles presented by Lorainco. Look at Todd Father
- 31:41Speaker 1: with those pearly whites there at the finish line of
- 31:44Speaker 1: the intro and a lot of smiles for the Dodgers
- 31:46Speaker 1: winning their 13th division title in 14 years. And as
- 31:51Speaker 1: Bob Nightingale wrote, they'll be favored to win a third
- 31:54Speaker 1: consecutive world series. We'll see if they actually pull that
- 31:56Speaker 1: off and we can talk about this amongst what's going
- 31:59Speaker 1: on with the ball club, but they're smiling right now.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Todd father, they are. But when the expectations are so
- 32:06Speaker 1: high for the Dodgers, I feel like we've spent a
- 32:08Speaker 1: good amount of time over the last couple months pointing
- 32:11Speaker 1: out flaws like, Hey, show is not playing right now.
- 32:15Speaker 1: And Edwin Diaz is kind of a mess. And Ricardo
- 32:19Speaker 1: Henriquez is hurt and out for the rest of the
- 32:22Speaker 1: regular season. Maybe more. All that being said, they very
- 32:26Speaker 1: easily took down the division this year. So let's start
- 32:29Speaker 1: with some positives. They're smiling. And then Doc Roberts in
- 32:32Speaker 1: his post-game speech with the boys was basically giving them the,
- 32:36Speaker 1: you're the best at everything. You're the best. You're the smartest.
- 32:39Speaker 1: And you want it more than everyone.
- 32:41Speaker 4: Listen, before we go on, you know, senior superlatives, best smile.
- 32:45Speaker 4: This guy right here. I had to let that be
- 32:49Speaker 4: known because you said what a great smile I had.
- 32:53Speaker 4: I don't even know if they do that anymore in
- 32:54Speaker 4: high school. The Dodgers are a good team. I don't
- 32:58Speaker 4: care what anybody says.
- 32:59Speaker 2: All the injuries aside, name one team that wants to
- 33:02Speaker 2: play the Dodgers in the playoff.
- 33:04Speaker 4: I don't think anybody. Listen, you could sit there. Yeah,
- 33:07Speaker 4: we want them, this and that. Well, you're going to
- 33:09Speaker 4: be going home. This team is really good. Yeah, they've
- 33:12Speaker 4: been going through their ups and downs. A lot of
- 33:14Speaker 4: downs lately, injuries, this and that. But they've found a
- 33:18Speaker 4: way to win the World Series the past couple of years.
- 33:20Speaker 4: And they're going to try and win it again. This
- 33:22Speaker 4: team is really good. Their pitching staff is good. Honestly,
- 33:27Speaker 4: I picked them to win the World Series, and I
- 33:30Speaker 4: don't see them not winning the World Series.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Right now, even with all the problems they have.
- 33:35Speaker 4: The veteran core they have, they're like the only team
- 33:39Speaker 4: that has true veteran ballplayers, a handful of them.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Love that.
- 33:44Speaker 4: That doesn't happen in baseball anymore. Now you're talking to
- 33:47Speaker 4: guys that we just talked to, Tolman, and he's the
- 33:50Speaker 4: old man.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Yeah, right.
- 33:52Speaker 4: He's a puppy. So good for him. Good for the Dodgers.
- 33:55Speaker 4: It's a team that's going to be really good. And
- 33:57Speaker 4: I don't think anybody wants to play this team moving forward.
- 34:00Speaker 4: I don't care who you are or who they have
- 34:02Speaker 4: and who's injured. It doesn't matter.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I would agree. I mean, nobody wants to play them,
- 34:07Speaker 3: but everybody wants to beat them. So that's the issue
- 34:11Speaker 3: that they're going to get everybody's best. But that's what
- 34:13Speaker 3: the playoffs are. It's not a big deal. What this
- 34:16Speaker 3: stretch did show us, the stretch where we were nitpicking,
- 34:20Speaker 3: we were nitpicking because they're supposed to be the best.
- 34:24Speaker 3: And when they're not, to me, it shines a light
- 34:27Speaker 3: on the fact that everybody has a shot. And I
- 34:30Speaker 3: don't know that they're definitely the favorites. I don't know
- 34:34Speaker 3: that I'm choosing them to win the World Series this year.
- 34:36Speaker 3: It's so hard to do. I don't care how many
- 34:40Speaker 3: superstars you have. I don't care if Blake Snell goes down,
- 34:42Speaker 3: Tarek Skubal steps in. Yamamoto throws all three games of
- 34:49Speaker 3: the first series, whatever it is. It's so hard to
- 34:53Speaker 3: win back-to-back. They did that, and now to win the
- 34:58Speaker 3: three-peat is tough to do.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not just the three-peat they're going for. They're
- 35:05Speaker 1: going for a five-peat if you're Tarek Skubal. Did you
- 35:08Speaker 1: guys hear this?
- 35:12Speaker 2: Five-peat? No. Mm-hmm.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Well, guys, congratulations, NL West champions. You sit on the chest.
- 35:18Speaker 4: You like being over here so far, being a part
- 35:20Speaker 4: of this NL West championship?
- 35:22Speaker 2: What'd you say?
- 35:22Speaker 3: How do you like being.
- 35:24Speaker 5: Over here, being a part of this NL West championship? Oh,
- 35:27Speaker 5: it's a ton of fun.
- 35:27Speaker 2: The group here is great.
- 35:28Speaker 5: It's a ton of fun to celebrate, you know, these
- 35:31Speaker 5: moments with these guys. It's going to be special. It's
- 35:33Speaker 5: going to be the first of many.
- 35:35Speaker 4: Tell them it's going to be special because you're playing
- 35:38Speaker 4: this postseason with your boys.
- 35:40Speaker 5: Yeah, this is my best friend. He's my little brother. Yeah,
- 35:45Speaker 5: but it's a ton of fun. Are you being forced
- 35:46Speaker 5: to say that? No, no, the feeling's mutual. The feeling's mutual.
- 35:51Speaker 5: He's my little brother, though.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Little.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Big brother.
- 35:54Speaker 5: We've got four Cy Youngs right here. What excites you
- 35:57Speaker 5: guys most just what you two can do come October?
- 35:59Speaker 4: The opportunity to get another World Series.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Yes.
- 36:04Speaker 2: That's the most important, funnest part. I'm going to block it.
- 36:07Speaker 2: You see, I got my boys back. I got his back.
- 36:10Speaker 5: That's love. That's a lot of love.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I appreciate that.
- 36:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that, I mean, the opportunity, right, to
- 36:14Speaker 5: play in October, that's every spring training, that's what you
- 36:17Speaker 5: show up ready to do is to go out and
- 36:18Speaker 5: compete in October and have a chance to win a
- 36:20Speaker 5: World Series. And, you know, I love our odds here. Guys, congratulations.
- 36:24Speaker 5: Enjoy this.
- 36:24Speaker 4: It only gets better.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Only better.
- 36:28Speaker 1: First of all, that was a fun interview. And that
- 36:30Speaker 1: is not easy to navigate. It is absolute chaos. When
- 36:34Speaker 1: you're trying to pull off interviews in a clubhouse celebration
- 36:37Speaker 1: like that, and then there's the distractions. And I mean,
- 36:40Speaker 1: sometimes you do those and then there's other mics that
- 36:42Speaker 1: start popping up in your face and you're like, can
- 36:45Speaker 1: I get 30 seconds for an interview? But then Scooble
- 36:47Speaker 1: and Snell playing off each other. The reason I mentioned
- 36:49Speaker 1: five Pete Kratz is not that they actually said it,
- 36:52Speaker 1: but did you catch the Scooble words right off the
- 36:54Speaker 1: jump there?
- 36:57Speaker 3: See, I disagree. Everyone's like, what? He's already going to
- 37:00Speaker 3: sign back there? He's already talking about it?
- 37:02Speaker 1: I didn't say he's doing that, but the way he
- 37:04Speaker 1: phrased it was.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Just cute and clever. No, this is the first of
- 37:09Speaker 3: many champagne celebrations. Because when you talk about it, you're like,
- 37:15Speaker 3: this is the first one. We got to get this
- 37:17Speaker 3: one in. You win the division, you celebrate. Then you
- 37:20Speaker 3: win the next round. So for them, it'll be the DS.
- 37:25Speaker 3: And as long as they get that second seed, I
- 37:28Speaker 3: think that's pretty much locked up. But then it's the CS.
- 37:31Speaker 3: Then it's the World Series. So you talk about that stuff.
- 37:34Speaker 3: When you make the playoffs, you need 11 wins. When
- 37:39Speaker 3: you make the playoffs or you clinch your spot, your
- 37:42Speaker 3: last time to celebrate in regular season, all right, four
- 37:46Speaker 3: more champagne celebrations. Or for them, three more champagne celebrations.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Like that's... That's what he was talking about. I have no,
- 37:53Speaker 3: zero belief in him being like, I'm going to be
- 37:56Speaker 3: here for a long time. I'm not saying he can't be.
- 37:59Speaker 3: I'm just saying that's not what I think he meant.
- 38:02Speaker 1: So you're saying that if they do get bounced at
- 38:03Speaker 1: any point, or even if they win, eventually, when he's
- 38:07Speaker 1: played his last 2026 game with the Dodgers, give me
- 38:12Speaker 1: the Boers hat, give me the Garrett Cole routine. Remember Cole?
- 38:17Speaker 3: Totally. After they lost... He dropped in the Boris hat.
- 38:24Speaker 3: For everybody listening, Todd's given his best Yankees pitch so
- 38:30Speaker 3: that Tarek Scooble can transition everything from Cole to Scooble.
- 38:37Speaker 3: The Cole contract will slowly fade off and then Scooble
- 38:40Speaker 3: will take over.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Thank you. Well done.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Well, I liked the little playfulness, Todd, father. Scooble and
- 38:50Speaker 1: Snell clearly liking each other and having fun being teammates.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Snell's older than Scooble for the record, but Scooble's calling
- 38:56Speaker 1: him little bro. Is he four years older?
- 39:01Speaker 3: Four years older. And Blake Snell is that guy. Blake Snell,
- 39:04Speaker 3: when I went over for the six minutes that I
- 39:06Speaker 3: was a Ray, he just has that personality that, I
- 39:12Speaker 3: don't know, I was drawn to him as a friend.
- 39:16Speaker 3: He's just that guy that then you play against him
- 39:18Speaker 3: and the same jokes, the same The same funny things
- 39:23Speaker 3: that you laugh at. I don't know. He's like a
- 39:27Speaker 3: regular dude that just is really pretty good from the
- 39:30Speaker 3: left side.
- 39:31Speaker 2: He's got a good travel ball organization too.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 39:35Speaker 3: I've seen those. I've seen those videos.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Colorful. I like them. I love them.
- 39:42Speaker 1: I would say, well, Snell does the live streaming, playing
- 39:47Speaker 1: video games and all that, right?
- 39:48Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 1: So, I mean, he's a talker. He's sneaky. He can
- 39:53Speaker 1: drop some funny lines for you. Those two together, though,
- 39:56Speaker 1: that's a good act. That's a good routine. And like
- 40:00Speaker 1: Kirsten Watson pointed out, who's the reporter for the Dodgers,
- 40:03Speaker 1: there's a lot of Cy Youngs wrapped up in that conversation.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Those dudes know what they're doing.
- 40:10Speaker 2: How's Snell feeling? How's he doing? It seemed to be
- 40:12Speaker 2: all right.
- 40:12Speaker 1: It's a great question. No, it's a great question, Todd,
- 40:14Speaker 1: because he missed a large chunk of the season. And
- 40:17Speaker 1: then the other day, he left after 19 pitches with
- 40:20Speaker 1: a groin issue. And he said he's going to be fine,
- 40:23Speaker 1: but you better be.
- 40:26Speaker 2: He seemed to be in good spirits there. Yeah, he was.
- 40:30Speaker 2: He was.
- 40:31Speaker 1: I mean, think about it. The Dodgers essentially have two
- 40:34Speaker 1: guys in Snell and Glass now, who are two of
- 40:36Speaker 1: the better stuff guy pitchers in the league for a while.
- 40:39Speaker 1: And they haven't pitched a ton for them. And this year,
- 40:43Speaker 1: I mean, they barely pitched, if you're looking at it.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Are the innings on the board here? Where are we
- 40:47Speaker 1: at for Snell this season on innings? There are not many.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Trust me. I had him on my fantasy team. I
- 40:56Speaker 1: had him and Blas on my fantasy team. It didn't
- 40:59Speaker 1: work out.
- 41:00Speaker 3: I think he's made eight starts.
- 41:02Speaker 2: There you go.
- 41:02Speaker 3: 38 innings. Eight starts. I mean, what are you going
- 41:06Speaker 3: to get from him in the playoffs? You're going to
- 41:08Speaker 3: get five innings. Probably seven to eight punches.
- 41:14Speaker 1: And.
- 41:16Speaker 3: Yamamoto will throw the last four and then he'll start
- 41:18Speaker 3: the next day.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Cute, cute. Love it. All right.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Well, congrats to the Dodgers. We'll celebrate it. It is
- 41:26Speaker 1: an accomplishment to take down the division there in the
- 41:28Speaker 1: national league West. And I mean, they did it without
- 41:30Speaker 1: really getting much of a threat for the entire season.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Baseball fans. That's all smiles. That's presented by the rain
- 41:37Speaker 1: co boom. There it is. Mango. You're a cinnamon guy, right?
- 41:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I got cinnamon, but I tore my cinnamon sticker
- 41:49Speaker 3: off the top, so I couldn't show it. It's just
- 41:52Speaker 3: a blank tin right now.

- 42:27Speaker 1: Just one little nugget, one little news bit on our
- 42:30Speaker 1: way out. Tarps Off lasted all season long. You know,
- 42:35Speaker 1: I bet you there's no way to compute this, but
- 42:39Speaker 1: MLB probably made like tens of millions of dollars. I'm
- 42:43Speaker 1: saying total. The amount of little Gen Zs that were
- 42:47Speaker 1: able to go to a game and rip their shirt
- 42:49Speaker 1: off and have fun with their friends out in the outfield, right?
- 42:52Speaker 1: That wasn't a thing. The amount of kids that went
- 42:54Speaker 1: to games. And who started it? The gentleman from the
- 42:57Speaker 1: Stephen F. Austin club baseball team. Jim Hayes from Cardinal Territory,
- 43:02Speaker 1: who's on Cardinals TV also, said that that crew is
- 43:05Speaker 1: going to be back at Busch Stadium tonight. Friday night
- 43:08Speaker 1: should be fun. Maybe they start a new viral trend.
- 43:13Speaker 2: It's pretty unique. Would you take your shirt off? Would
- 43:17Speaker 2: you go out there and take your shirt off and
- 43:18Speaker 2: do it?
- 43:20Speaker 1: No, I feel like, I feel like tarps off the
- 43:24Speaker 1: Gen Z thing. Like I don't, I think I'm too old.
- 43:28Speaker 2: How old are you?
- 43:29Speaker 1: Mostly kids. It's mostly like, it's mostly like anywhere from,
- 43:33Speaker 1: I don't know. You seen like 12 year olds to
- 43:34Speaker 1: like 25 year olds.
- 43:36Speaker 2: I think you don't look like you're 46, you know,
- 43:41Speaker 2: but I am.
- 43:42Speaker 3: I am.
- 43:42Speaker 1: I'm just a 46-year-old man.
- 43:44Speaker 2: What can I do? I'm a man. I'm 40. Good stuff, everyone.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Ending, giving you a whole 10 minutes back on your
- 43:53Speaker 1: Friday because we got appointments and things, but two hours
- 43:56Speaker 1: live every day, post-season bonus coverage and all that, post-game
- 44:00Speaker 1: shows that we'll have coming up in a week and
- 44:02Speaker 1: a half when that stuff starts up. So enjoy the Friday, Toddfather.
- 44:06Speaker 1: See you next week.
