- 0:16Speaker 1: Timothy four and eleven says, get Mark and bring him
- 0:20Speaker 1: with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry.
- 0:27Speaker 1: You know, one of the most beautiful truths in scripture
- 0:33Speaker 1: is that God is not a god of cancelation.
- 0:35Speaker 2: He's a God of restoration.
- 0:38Speaker 1: In Acts thirteen, during Paul's first missionary journey with Barnabas,
- 0:43Speaker 1: a young man named John Mark was chosen to travel
- 0:47Speaker 1: with them. This was no small assignment. God had entrusted
- 0:51Speaker 1: Mark with something sacred. Yet somewhere along the way, Mark
- 0:55Speaker 1: grew discouraged, afraid, or overwhelmed, and he deserted them and
- 1:01Speaker 1: went back to Jerusalem. That one decision nearly cost him dearly.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Paul was deeply disappointed, and the situation became so tense
- 1:15Speaker 1: that it eventually caused a sharp disagreement between Paul and Barnabas.
- 1:19Speaker 1: A calling was interrupted, relationships were damaged, and trust was broken.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Mark had every reason to believe he had ruined his future.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Imagine the weight Mark must have carried regret playing in
- 1:36Speaker 1: his mind, shame, whispering that he wasn't reliable, fear telling
- 1:40Speaker 1: him that he would never be trusted again. He probably
- 1:44Speaker 1: throw I blew my chance, I fel the people who
- 1:48Speaker 1: believed in me.
- 1:49Speaker 2: It's over.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Oh but God never writes the final chapter in Moments
- 1:55Speaker 1: of Failure. Years later, we find something remarkable near the
- 2:00Speaker 1: the end of Paul's life. He writes from prisident says,
- 2:03Speaker 1: get Mark and bring him with you, because he is
- 2:06Speaker 1: helpful to me in my ministry.
- 2:08Speaker 2: This very man, the very.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Man who once walked away, is now described as helpful, valuable,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and trusted. That's restoration, y'all. God didn't just heal the relationship.
- 2:22Speaker 1: He elevated Mark beyond his past. Mark went on to
- 2:26Speaker 1: write the Gospel of Mark, one of the most influential
- 2:29Speaker 1: books in.
- 2:29Speaker 2: The New Testament.
- 2:30Speaker 1: The same person who once quit is now shaping generations.
- 2:35Speaker 1: This is a word for anyone who feels like they've
- 2:38Speaker 1: mishandled opportunities, who feels like they've damaged relationships, are failed
- 2:43Speaker 1: in important moments. Maybe you said something you can't take back.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Maybe you walked away when you should have stayed. Maybe fear,
- 2:52Speaker 1: pride or insecurity.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Cost you something precious. But here's the good news.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Your mistakes don't cancel your destiny. Come on, Jesus, God
- 3:01Speaker 1: is not intimidated by your past. He specializes in compacts.
- 3:05Speaker 1: He knows how to restore trust, rebuild character, and reopen
- 3:09Speaker 1: doors you thought were permanently closed. What looks like a
- 3:13Speaker 1: dead end to you is just a turn around in
- 3:16Speaker 1: God's hand. If you'll stop rehearsing your failures and start
- 3:19Speaker 1: believing again, God will do what only he can. He'll
- 3:23Speaker 1: redeem the story, He'll heal relationships. He'll give you another chance,
- 3:28Speaker 1: not just to try again, but to finish stronger than
- 3:32Speaker 1: you started. Father, thank you that you are the God
- 3:35Speaker 1: of restoration and second chances. Thank you that no mistake,
- 3:38Speaker 1: no failure, no broken relationship.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Is beyond your power to heal.
- 3:43Speaker 1: God, we release the guilt and shame of the pass
- 3:45Speaker 1: and choose to believe again. We trust you to restore
- 3:49Speaker 1: what was lost and redeem what was broken.
- 3:52Speaker 2: In Jesus' name, that's your word for today.
