- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back.
- 0:13Speaker 2: What's going on? Everybody?
- 0:14Speaker 1: It's Jeff Mosher and Adam Kaplan. You've been hearing our
- 0:17Speaker 1: voice a lot. We're doing an NFL free agency primer.
- 0:21Speaker 1: We're going inside all the positions. We've done all the offense.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We've started defense and this one is interesting. We're gonna
- 0:27Speaker 1: go through defensive tackles here in free agency. And you
- 0:30Speaker 1: look at the list at him, and I know, my
- 0:32Speaker 1: first thought is two people who spend most of their time,
- 0:35Speaker 1: a lot of their time covering the Eagles is Boy,
- 0:37Speaker 1: if you're an Eagles fan, you're thankful that not only
- 0:40Speaker 1: do you have great starters, and Jordan Davis, Jill and
- 0:42Speaker 1: Carter good depth and Moro Jomo. They drafted a kid
- 0:45Speaker 1: in the fourth round last year, Ty Robinson. Because this
- 0:49Speaker 1: if you need a defensive tackle and you're looking at
- 0:52Speaker 1: the list of free agents, you're probably not crazy about it.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it's the quality of it. It's just not good
- 1:00Speaker 3: untive tackles. So the Eagles look, see, Eagles are in
- 1:02Speaker 3: great ship. They have the three starters, but Drome is
- 1:05Speaker 3: a starter, Davis is the starter, and Carter starter, and
- 1:08Speaker 3: then Byron Youngster top backup and as you mentioned ty Robinson.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Ty Robson was a little bit raw, unrefined. He needed he.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Needs a full off season. That's what he needs. That's
- 1:18Speaker 3: what he's explained to me, and he'll get that. So
- 1:21Speaker 3: they're good there now in the division. The Commanders have
- 1:24Speaker 3: made a clearer they're keeping dron Pain. I know there
- 1:27Speaker 3: are some fans, some Commando fans figure they should just
- 1:31Speaker 3: move on from They're not. They have Kin law He's
- 1:33Speaker 3: not a big free agent deal last year, had a
- 1:35Speaker 3: good year with the Jets. Johnny Newton is not really
- 1:39Speaker 3: he's not been that guy yet that they thought he
- 1:41Speaker 3: would be. Nowers his third year all of a sudden,
- 1:45Speaker 3: you know, he needs to be more of a factor.
- 1:47Speaker 3: So they're they're the Commanders are very light at that position.
- 1:52Speaker 3: The Giants they're top heavy with Lawrence and Roy Robertson.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Harris's kind of a journeyman. Goltsan Chounsey. Golson is just
- 2:02Speaker 3: sort of like an ant rusher. They could use a
- 2:04Speaker 3: little depth. And the Cowboys made the big trade for
- 2:08Speaker 3: Quinn Williams as we know, so he's a starter with
- 2:12Speaker 3: Kenny Clark, they may restructure his contract with a big
- 2:16Speaker 3: zua so and by the way they're gonna go, They're
- 2:19Speaker 3: changing their scheme. They're gonna go to a thirty four
- 2:22Speaker 3: with Christian Parker with two overhangs, so they're gonna get
- 2:25Speaker 3: a little bit of depth at the tackle. Quite frankly,
- 2:28Speaker 3: the egoser I think of the four teams that division
- 2:30Speaker 3: the best at the tackle right now, trim to death.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Oh, I would think so absolutely.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I mean, it's part of their identity. They're always going
- 2:37Speaker 1: to replace. I mean, remember how many years ago is
- 2:39Speaker 1: it where they had seven defensive tackles before they wound
- 2:42Speaker 1: up trading. Yeah, yeah, it was just two years ago.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Who is it that they traded. I can't even remember it.
- 2:48Speaker 1: It was, uh, somebody they traded in the Falcons. What
- 2:51Speaker 1: was his name?
- 2:51Speaker 2: It it is? I could see the guy in front
- 2:55Speaker 2: of me. I just cannot ye. I hate when that happens.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I got it, I got it, I got it. Contavious Street.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeahavious Street, thank you.
- 3:04Speaker 1: You know there's somebody listening to the podcast right now
- 3:06Speaker 1: that is screaming out Contavious Street Street.
- 3:09Speaker 2: It always happens, I know, it always does.
- 3:11Speaker 1: But yeah, so the depth of egles have now some
- 3:14Speaker 1: of these guys, Adam, some of these guys are good
- 3:17Speaker 1: depth pieces. I don't want to completely crap on this
- 3:20Speaker 1: defensive tackle class. It's just that it's short on impact
- 3:24Speaker 1: game starters, you know. I think like a guy like
- 3:27Speaker 1: Franklin Myers is a pretty good defensive tackle. He played
- 3:30Speaker 1: for the Broncos, but he only played fifty percent of
- 3:32Speaker 1: less than fifty percent of the snaps the last few years,
- 3:34Speaker 1: and he he serves a role. Some of them are
- 3:36Speaker 1: run stoppers, some of them give you interior rush, but
- 3:39Speaker 1: there's not a three down DT. I don't think in
- 3:42Speaker 1: this group unless there's someone that sticks out to you.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Yeah, David Anyamano is probably going to be the top
- 3:48Speaker 3: paid guy, but he's a run guy. He's a two
- 3:50Speaker 3: down guy for John. Franklin Myers is a tweeter rushed
- 3:54Speaker 3: the past. DJ Reader has been around a long time,
- 3:55Speaker 3: a lot of injuries. Sebastian Joseph Day out of out
- 3:58Speaker 3: of Rutgers is a player and what I've heard, Tennessee
- 4:01Speaker 3: would like to have him back. Sheldon Rankin's another journeyman.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Sean Han another journeyman. Did you go out to another
- 4:07Speaker 3: journeyman now? Logan Hall is a thirty four five technique
- 4:12Speaker 3: He like he's an end in a thirty four front.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Like he's he's he's tall, good player, but I like
- 4:17Speaker 2: he is, he's.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Not He's not a pass rusher. Larry Ungnjobi's signed a
- 4:21Speaker 3: decent free agent deal and wound up being benched.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and then he's a little long in the tooth down.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Also, and he's getting older right. Shelby Harris has been around.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Lass Campbell's forty years old.
- 4:30Speaker 1: My god, Kallais Campbell at forty years old still might
- 4:32Speaker 1: be crazy. One of the best names on this list.
- 4:35Speaker 2: If you think about it, it's it's uh fully thought of.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Cassi's out there.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Nacho his nicknames Notcho rakeem new new as roaches. Nacho's
- 4:44Speaker 3: out there. Uh, you know, he's a good player. Tonga,
- 4:49Speaker 3: who the Patriots had. Tongo is actually a good player.
- 4:54Speaker 2: He is. He's kind of a sleeper for free agency.
- 4:56Speaker 2: But man, it's like you said, I think you said
- 4:58Speaker 2: it best.
- 4:59Speaker 3: You better be that you've got your starting group, because
- 5:03Speaker 3: if you're looking for a high impact guy, there is
- 5:05Speaker 3: not one guy on the list, honestly, Like John Ward's
- 5:10Speaker 3: a journeyman. Ta Kwan Lows has had a ton of
- 5:12Speaker 3: injury for the Colts. Who's a decent backup Dark Natty's out,
- 5:15Speaker 3: there's a decent backup. Tim Settle's been around a long time.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Might remember from the Commandos. But that's it, man, that's
- 5:21Speaker 3: a small list.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, just to show you how fast life
- 5:25Speaker 1: moves in the NFL, right, it was only it was
- 5:27Speaker 1: twenty twenty, which is quite a bit now. But to me,
- 5:30Speaker 1: it feels like yesterday that we reported that the Eagles
- 5:34Speaker 1: liked both david On Yamada and Javon Hargrave as free agents,
- 5:40Speaker 1: and they wound up signing Javon Hargrave to a like
- 5:44Speaker 1: I believe a market resetting deal at the time for
- 5:47Speaker 1: defensive tackles, and then Anyamada wound up re signing with
- 5:51Speaker 1: the Saints. He was already with them. He signed a
- 5:53Speaker 1: pretty big deal with them, and he played a couple
- 5:56Speaker 1: of years more for New Orleans, about three or four.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And Hargrave obviously had some really good years with the Eagles,
- 6:01Speaker 1: had some big sack numbers, then went over to San Francisco.
- 6:04Speaker 1: But now he's just recently been told by the Vikings, right,
- 6:07Speaker 1: he's either going to be traded or released, most likely released.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yea and so so Now, all these years later, a
- 6:13Speaker 1: couple of teams later, both these guys are free agents again,
- 6:17Speaker 1: and they're quite different players now than they were back
- 6:21Speaker 1: when the Eagles were interested.
- 6:22Speaker 3: In When Hargraves signed a three year deal in twenty
- 6:26Speaker 3: twenty in March of twenty twenty three years thirty nine million,
- 6:31Speaker 3: and they more or less guaranteed the first two seasons.
- 6:34Speaker 3: And yeah, I mean he he did a good job.
- 6:38Speaker 3: That was a really good signing. It funny, Yeah, I'm
- 6:41Speaker 3: looking at their their their roster in twenty twenty one.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Sun Ridgeway was on their offseason roster. Nice Marlin Twoey
- 6:49Speaker 3: Polo two was on the roster. Yeah, they Fletch Beiji,
- 6:55Speaker 3: of course, Josh Schweat, Derrek Barnett, Ryan Kurgan, remember they
- 7:00Speaker 3: they brought him in.
- 7:02Speaker 2: They brought him in late in.
- 7:03Speaker 3: His career because they were so lighted edge at his
- 7:07Speaker 3: name and training camp.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Tron Jackson and the legendary at Rusher, Joe.
- 7:14Speaker 1: The Immortal Jo who you know, every like five years
- 7:20Speaker 1: the Eagles have this guy that you think, oh man,
- 7:22Speaker 1: this guy might really met you know, was Travis Long
- 7:24Speaker 1: during the Tip Kelly era. But he was like fast
- 7:27Speaker 1: off the Edges had some moves, but he couldn't stay healthy.
- 7:30Speaker 1: And yeah, yeah, so so there you go. I mean
- 7:36Speaker 1: Anyamada good player, but you know, plays a role. Same
- 7:39Speaker 1: thing with Franklin Myers, reader, Shelton Rankins. Interesting guy at
- 7:44Speaker 1: one point. Now you mentioned Tonga, the defensive tackle from
- 7:47Speaker 1: the Patriots, right, yeah, good doesn't Also, yeah, he plays
- 7:52Speaker 1: fullback for them in the goal line, right, He's the
- 7:54Speaker 1: one that moves over and lines up as a fullback
- 7:57Speaker 1: I think when they're in goal line, which.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Might be he he's an older player, but he played
- 8:02Speaker 3: in less than third of the defensive snats, but did
- 8:04Speaker 3: a good job and what they asked him to do.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I'm looking for like like gods like Neville Gallamoory might
- 8:10Speaker 3: remember him from the Rams and the Cowboys. There are
- 8:15Speaker 3: a lot of them out there, but they're just journeymen. Honestly,
- 8:21Speaker 3: it's Andrew Bellens is out there as a journeyman. It's
- 8:26Speaker 3: it's a territory diary sign of the Chargers. Yeah, day
- 8:31Speaker 3: Kwon Jones is from Penn State. Is actually a good
- 8:33Speaker 3: run stopper. He had a CAF injury last year. Draymond
- 8:37Speaker 3: Jones really is not a He's he he Will. He
- 8:39Speaker 3: could line up inside a nickel, but he's more of
- 8:41Speaker 3: an edge rusher, so I wouldn't put him on there.
- 8:43Speaker 2: There you go.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Yeah, not a great class. The Eagles clearly don't have
- 8:48Speaker 1: a need some teams do. I think some of these
- 8:51Speaker 1: guys are most likely most of these guys are not
- 8:54Speaker 1: going to be the top within the first three days
- 8:58Speaker 1: of free agency.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Uh.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I wouldn't call it a buyer's market at all. But
- 9:02Speaker 1: I also don't think NFL teams will be in a
- 9:04Speaker 1: hurry to sign too many of those guys. It's just
- 9:06Speaker 1: that kind of a class.
- 9:07Speaker 2: I disagree. I think it's a buyer's market.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well, I mean again, I guess because there's
- 9:13Speaker 1: a lot of names, but there's just not a lot
- 9:14Speaker 1: of guys that I think that people are going to
- 9:15Speaker 1: fall in love with.
- 9:17Speaker 2: No.
- 9:17Speaker 3: No, But what I'm saying is seller's market would mean
- 9:19Speaker 3: the players got leverage, the clubs have leverage here other
- 9:22Speaker 3: than Ajmana maybe Franklin Myers.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Right, you can wait, you know that's what you meant.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I think that's what you meant.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, I guess I meant that there's not
- 9:30Speaker 1: going to be a huge spree don't want to sign
- 9:32Speaker 1: any of these.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah, only a couple of guys. Yeah that's you guys.
- 9:35Speaker 2: See Okay, you and I see that the same way.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it's now could a guy like Logan Hall get paid,
- 9:41Speaker 3: you know, because he's got ideal length for playing the
- 9:45Speaker 3: five or seven technique, He's got really good length, relatively
- 9:49Speaker 3: young player man. The rest of its journeymen, guys who
- 9:52Speaker 3: have had a lot of injuries, Guys that are well
- 9:55Speaker 3: into their thirties.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Yeah, man, it's what's that.
- 10:00Speaker 1: It's the one year deal club.
- 10:01Speaker 2: It is a lot of them look like that. Yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 2: I would agree with that. Yeah, yeah, all right.
- 10:07Speaker 1: So let's like take a little bit of a micro
- 10:10Speaker 1: focus then on the Eagles defensive tackle situation. We talked
- 10:12Speaker 1: about their depth. We talked about what they have in Carter,
- 10:16Speaker 1: Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Moro Jomo as their top
- 10:21Speaker 1: three guys. Davis and Ajomo are eligible technically for extensions. Yep,
- 10:28Speaker 1: they're both three years in to Oh yeah, I keep
- 10:31Speaker 1: thinking Carter's two years and now he's three years in
- 10:33Speaker 1: as well, so all of them are eligible for extensions.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Pretty interesting situation. It's not often you have three players
- 10:40Speaker 1: at one position that are all up for an extension
- 10:43Speaker 1: at the same time.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I expect too to get to get an extension.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I don't put a time leving on these.
- 10:48Speaker 3: It could be in June, to be in August, but
- 10:51Speaker 3: I would expect this to happen anytime from now until
- 10:55Speaker 3: the start of the season. I would expect two guys
- 10:58Speaker 3: to get done. Yeah, they like they know they're gonna
- 11:01Speaker 3: have The Eagles are going to do what they did
- 11:03Speaker 3: last year. It's gonna it's gonna be a light free agency.
- 11:06Speaker 3: A lot of their cash is going to be spent on.
- 11:08Speaker 3: It's a black cash man. It's not about cap, It's
- 11:11Speaker 3: about cash. Try to warn people. We're obsessed with the cap.
- 11:14Speaker 2: I used to be.
- 11:14Speaker 3: I'm no longer obsessed with it. It's kind of comical.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Teams will literally do anything they can when they shouldn't have.
- 11:20Speaker 3: With a credit card, spend and keep restruction, keep restructuring.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Yep. And Joe Banner once told me, like the players
- 11:28Speaker 2: a lot of times are not called the club's bluff.
- 11:31Speaker 3: They would they take the pay cut when they really shouldn't,
- 11:35Speaker 3: Like they should sometimes stand up to the club say
- 11:36Speaker 3: well you know what, then cut me then because you know,
- 11:39Speaker 3: if you're if you're a general manager. Look, if someone
- 11:43Speaker 3: refuses to pay cut, you gotta be willing to cut
- 11:45Speaker 3: the guy. It's sort of a game of chicken, so
- 11:48Speaker 3: to speak. Who's going to make the first move?
- 11:50Speaker 2: Yep, you know.
- 11:51Speaker 3: But in the Eagles case, yeah, they don't have cap casuals.
- 11:54Speaker 3: It's that they haven't had any. It's got to be
- 11:57Speaker 3: at least a decade. Yeah, and I can't think of
- 12:00Speaker 3: what we call as you came up with. I love
- 12:02Speaker 3: that term cash casualty.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:04Speaker 3: There are some isolated cases around the league where yeah,
- 12:08Speaker 3: you could make a point to both. Yeah, the guy's
- 12:09Speaker 3: making way too much money, but they also have a
- 12:12Speaker 3: cap problem, so the club use a convenient excuse.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It's a cap problem, you know. Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 3: But getting back to the Eagles, it's just a matter
- 12:21Speaker 3: and sometimes it priority comes down to who could we
- 12:23Speaker 3: get done first.
- 12:25Speaker 2: That's the way the Cowboys have done it.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Why Unfortunately they wait, they look for what are the
- 12:29Speaker 3: ones that we know we can get done now, they
- 12:31Speaker 3: get that done, and then they wait and they wait
- 12:34Speaker 3: and they wait, and then the money becomes too rich,
- 12:36Speaker 3: Like because all these other guys at the position sign
- 12:39Speaker 3: and Jerry Jones is too late.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yep, you know you would.
- 12:43Speaker 1: You would think a Joemo could be done without a
- 12:47Speaker 1: whole lot of consternation because three years in he's only
- 12:52Speaker 1: been a kind of a starting type player. For a year,
- 12:55Speaker 1: he had a nice year. I mean, I could understand
- 12:58Speaker 1: if you wanted to give it one more year and
- 13:00Speaker 1: then try to do the Milton Williams thing. But I
- 13:02Speaker 1: can also understand. You know, when you're playing behind Carter
- 13:05Speaker 1: and Davis, if you get a pretty decent extension, you
- 13:08Speaker 1: know you're not going to reset the market. But you're
- 13:10Speaker 1: here for a long He has said, he personally told
- 13:12Speaker 1: me this one day in the locker room that he
- 13:14Speaker 1: is not he does not want to ever play for
- 13:17Speaker 1: another defensive coordinator than Vic Fangio.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Oh it's awesome.
- 13:20Speaker 1: When he said that, I wanted to turn the microphone
- 13:23Speaker 1: off and say, hey man, your agent's really gonna be
- 13:24Speaker 1: upset with you for way.
- 13:28Speaker 2: He did change agencies. So did Jordan Davis over the
- 13:30Speaker 2: last couple of years.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Good point, good point.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Oby Deane change agencies. Blanket Ship did right. Yeah. But
- 13:36Speaker 2: when you do that, yeah, you're doing it for a reason.
- 13:39Speaker 2: You want to get paid.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but we but He was basically saying he
- 13:43Speaker 1: really likes playing for VIC. He likes playing in this defense,
- 13:45Speaker 1: although with VIC slongin the coach one year, maybe he won't.
- 13:48Speaker 1: But I mean my point is, when you're trying to
- 13:50Speaker 1: work out an extension, that's the kind of player that
- 13:52Speaker 1: you could think you can meet and both sides be
- 13:55Speaker 1: happy with. Because he's far away from a paiday and
- 13:58Speaker 1: he can't even guarantee he's not John Carter. We knows
- 14:01Speaker 1: no matter what, he's going to get a huge contract, right,
- 14:03Speaker 1: So so I think that that might be something feasible
- 14:06Speaker 1: for the Eagles, and we'll see if if that happens. Hey,
- 14:09Speaker 1: I know a lot of you out there are just
- 14:11Speaker 1: like me. You either travel a lot for work or
- 14:14Speaker 1: you got a back to work policy and you're always

- 16:10Speaker 1: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 16:13Speaker 1: one and up. I'm curious in your interactions you talk
- 16:18Speaker 1: to people around the league, do you think that there's
- 16:20Speaker 1: risk you have? You got that vibe that people think
- 16:24Speaker 1: that there would be a risk with Jillen Carter a
- 16:26Speaker 1: because of the injuries to his shoulder that it has
- 16:30Speaker 1: currently been working on, but also b because of coming
- 16:33Speaker 1: out of Georgia with some of the baggage, I mean
- 16:35Speaker 1: suspended for spinning last year, you know, just keeping him
- 16:39Speaker 1: focused and centered and then all of a sudden, given
- 16:42Speaker 1: a guy like that, you know, market resetting money and
- 16:44Speaker 1: making him wealthy beyond his wildest dreams.
- 16:47Speaker 3: That's where structure is very important, and we know the
- 16:50Speaker 3: Eagles to do a specific structure. They're a couple of
- 16:54Speaker 3: agents I've talked over the years. They kind of say
- 16:56Speaker 3: it the same way bs Egle structure.
- 16:58Speaker 2: It's with the bonuses.
- 17:00Speaker 3: You're kind of forced to do it, like you'll get
- 17:03Speaker 3: a hot you like, you'll get what you want, like
- 17:05Speaker 3: you're going to get a high average preseason. You're going
- 17:08Speaker 3: to get the market deal that you want. But you
- 17:10Speaker 3: got to do with their structure. This is how they
- 17:12Speaker 3: do cash over cap. Every year they're a major cap
- 17:16Speaker 3: over cash the cash over cap team. They's spend well
- 17:18Speaker 3: over it every year. It's just it's great accounting that's
- 17:23Speaker 3: understanding what what what it is and you know that
- 17:27Speaker 3: they're what they're going to do here is they're gonna
- 17:29Speaker 3: this is what Joe Banner started decades ago, signing guys early.
- 17:33Speaker 3: How he's done it, learned from Joe and he hasn't changed.
- 17:36Speaker 2: You know.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Now, Joe didn't do the option bonus. He wasn't doing
- 17:39Speaker 3: that stuff. This is a way to keep the band together.
- 17:43Speaker 3: But you know what they're there, gambles On players have
- 17:47Speaker 3: been so good other than the Jeffrey extension. Yeah, he
- 17:50Speaker 3: has how he doesn't miss all these extensions. When you miss, man,
- 17:53Speaker 3: it's very costly when you got to get out of
- 17:55Speaker 3: it early for dead money that stuff matters.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Under the cap, right, that's when you don't wanted the
- 18:00Speaker 2: guy to leave.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Really you know, ye, there's one other guy that we
- 18:05Speaker 1: got to throw in that category, and that's Bradbury. I
- 18:08Speaker 1: mean that that happens. He had this all pro year.
- 18:11Speaker 2: It was yeah, not what everybody realized. We also got
- 18:15Speaker 2: hurty towards Achilles, but that was after.
- 18:18Speaker 1: That was after the year after.
- 18:19Speaker 3: But what I'm saying is, boy it The funny thing
- 18:22Speaker 3: was I remember talking to the Giants, someone with the Giants.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Then it said, oh man, if we could protect, if
- 18:27Speaker 3: we could have protected, we want to go after Bradbury,
- 18:30Speaker 3: iron athlete, this former team.
- 18:31Speaker 2: I know the Niners wanted to do it.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Well, if you can't protect, it's the relevant. Yeah, but
- 18:37Speaker 3: then Bradbury got exposed. But you want to talk about
- 18:39Speaker 3: a drop off, and and you know, as I tell
- 18:42Speaker 3: people with A J. Brown, sure the Eagles are much
- 18:45Speaker 3: better team with him.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Than without him.
- 18:48Speaker 3: You don't want to wait. He's twenty nine in June,
- 18:50Speaker 3: which means he's twenty nine NFL years. That's the way
- 18:52Speaker 3: it's looked at. Sure, twenty nine in the off season,
- 18:54Speaker 3: that's what you are. There's a belief as So when
- 18:58Speaker 3: I trust with another team told me, I think he's
- 18:59Speaker 3: got who's great a taper ready for free agency because
- 19:02Speaker 3: they know he's available.
- 19:03Speaker 2: He's probably got two good years left in him.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Well, you can win with him now if they keep Brown,
- 19:09Speaker 3: it doesn't mean they can't draft his replacement this year.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Yeah, how he's like, I'll tell you.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I was surprised when they when Earth so I think
- 19:19Speaker 3: was twenty seven years old, they drafted Dallas Goddard. I
- 19:21Speaker 3: was like, Wow, second round tight end is going to
- 19:25Speaker 3: be a start of this guy's is still like we
- 19:27Speaker 3: had heard. It was our first year of doing the show.
- 19:30Speaker 3: We started in that spring, and we had heard like
- 19:31Speaker 3: this guy almost went in the first round to a
- 19:34Speaker 3: team in the AFC South, very close to it as
- 19:37Speaker 3: we were told. Then so wow, and then so that
- 19:40Speaker 3: goes to show you, now how he isn't playing around.
- 19:43Speaker 2: He's no sacred cows man. You know what?
- 19:47Speaker 3: And now AJ turns twenty nine. Have you got the
- 19:49Speaker 3: Lane Johnson situation of thirty six? They got a lot
- 19:53Speaker 3: of draft picks, and and how he's not missing on
- 19:56Speaker 3: early picks. Man, he's just since twenty one he turned around.
- 20:01Speaker 3: I guess it's a good problem to have when you
- 20:02Speaker 3: start getting it right and guys actually play really, really well,
- 20:07Speaker 3: it's a good.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Problem to have.
- 20:08Speaker 3: But it would be funny if, like, if he keeps
- 20:11Speaker 3: hitting on these first round picks and second round picks,
- 20:14Speaker 3: when they all hit, you can't keep everybody. But that's
- 20:19Speaker 3: another uts and off season show. We'll talk about it
- 20:20Speaker 3: in June with to think look like over the next
- 20:22Speaker 3: three years. But the defense could look super special if
- 20:27Speaker 3: a lot of these guys develop, because we know the
- 20:29Speaker 3: two dbs Mitchell and Jean are developing. And if Campbell
- 20:35Speaker 3: develops so Dean doesn't come back, we know about the
- 20:38Speaker 3: d line. This defense, folks, could be really really good
- 20:41Speaker 3: for a long time.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Absolutely all right, good stuff. And again, you look at
- 20:46Speaker 1: this list that we just went through of defensive tackles
- 20:48Speaker 1: and you think, thank god the Eagles prioritize that position
- 20:51Speaker 1: and have depth. And don't you need to get a
- 20:53Speaker 1: guy on the free agent market, especially an impactful guy,
- 20:57Speaker 1: because that guy might not exist to do it. For
