- 0:54Speaker 2: So good, Hutton. I've got a little bit right now.
- 0:56Speaker 2: The honoring Davy Crockett. By the way, terrific job by
- 1:00Speaker 2: Tennessee's in-house media department. They did a whole Davy Crockett
- 1:03Speaker 2: tribute during the game. And they on the screen showed
- 1:07Speaker 2: different facts about his life. And it ended with Davy
- 1:10Speaker 2: Crockett died freeing Texas or for Texas independence on behalf
- 1:14Speaker 2: of the Texans. And everybody goes nuts in the stadium.
- 1:17Speaker 2: The Texas fans actually had a good laugh. to it
- 1:19Speaker 2: that's how you do something like that by the way
- 1:22Speaker 2: historically and make it fun how you don't do it
- 1:25Speaker 2: is do what kansas did and make it about slavery
- 1:28Speaker 2: and you being on the right side of slavery with
- 1:30Speaker 2: missouri and then go get your ass kicked in the
- 1:32Speaker 2: game the next day against missouri that so take notes
- 1:34Speaker 2: kansas uh tennessee did it the right way with texas
- 1:37Speaker 2: you did it the.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Wrong way oh we are honey withro presented by hard
- 1:43Speaker 1: rock bet uh coming up our sec review but uh
- 1:47Speaker 1: let's let's review Shane Beamer right now, where he is,
- 1:50Speaker 1: where he's headed and, uh, what he stands for, Chad.
- 1:54Speaker 2: You know, when I saw all the video footage of
- 1:57Speaker 2: him that they lose 49 to 18 to Alabama, it
- 1:59Speaker 2: was a rough, rough game that never close, uh, didn't
- 2:02Speaker 2: have a chance. Um, and I'm watching Dylan Stewart, you know,
- 2:06Speaker 2: kind of ignore him and walk away from him and
- 2:08Speaker 2: Beamer's yelling at him. And then I see the other
- 2:10Speaker 2: footage of, of Dylan Stewart walking over and saying something
- 2:14Speaker 2: to one of the coaches and coach gets right in
- 2:16Speaker 2: his face and he's screaming at him. And, They're getting
- 2:18Speaker 2: them to, you know, not sit on the bench. And
- 2:20Speaker 2: I'm thinking this is bad. Beamers lost the team. You've
- 2:25Speaker 2: got a lot of high-priced guys now that are facing
- 2:28Speaker 2: adversity that didn't sign up for this. You know, they're
- 2:31Speaker 2: probably thinking, hey, we're going to bounce back this year,
- 2:33Speaker 2: just like you said. And last year was an aberration,
- 2:36Speaker 2: and now we're going to contend for the college football playoff.
- 2:38Speaker 2: And I'm going to go ahead and say it. South
- 2:40Speaker 2: Carolina ain't contending for any college football playoff this year.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Now 0-2 in the SEC and getting pounded the way
- 2:46Speaker 2: they did on Saturday. But for Beamer to come back
- 2:51Speaker 2: and suspend Dylan Stewart indefinitely and maybe kick him off
- 2:54Speaker 2: the team, it's not going to help this South Carolina
- 2:58Speaker 2: team because he's a really good talent.
- 2:59Speaker 1: No, right. But I appreciate the hell out of it.
- 3:02Speaker 1: This is a move to.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Say, look, you're not going to run all over me.
- 3:05Speaker 2: We've got a lot of season left. We're not going
- 3:08Speaker 2: to sit here and pitch it in. We're going to
- 3:09Speaker 2: keep working. We're going to try to have the best
- 3:11Speaker 2: season that we can have. And Beamer, Hutton, in the
- 3:14Speaker 2: postgame press conference– Well, he doubled down on what he
- 3:17Speaker 2: said last week after that loss to Mississippi State about
- 3:20Speaker 2: how they're going to handle business moving forward. Here's Shane Beamer.
- 3:23Speaker 1: You know, so we got to look at everything.
- 3:25Speaker 3: And again, we're a third of the way through the
- 3:29Speaker 3: football season right now. And, you know, we were here
- 3:32Speaker 3: two years ago and we were three and three after
- 3:34Speaker 3: this game.
- 3:35Speaker 2: We responded the right way.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I have zero doubt that this team, now that we're
- 3:39Speaker 3: two and two, will, you know, respond the right way
- 3:42Speaker 3: and I said it, I think last week to you guys, this,
- 3:44Speaker 3: you know, how we respond and we'll define what this
- 3:46Speaker 3: team is about.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Double down on that, you know, how we respond tonight.
- 3:50Speaker 3: We'll certainly define what this team in this 2020, 2026
- 3:54Speaker 3: season is about, but you know, we've got a big
- 3:58Speaker 3: one next Saturday night or next Saturday afternoon, uh, back
- 4:01Speaker 3: in Columbia against a really, really good, you know, Kentucky team.
- 4:04Speaker 3: And it don't get easier in this league.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Uh, we know that.
- 4:08Speaker 3: And, uh, We've got a good football team. We've got
- 4:11Speaker 3: good coaches. We've got good players. We've just got to
- 4:14Speaker 3: get a lot better this week.
- 4:17Speaker 1: A lot better.
- 4:18Speaker 2: A lot. You can underline a lot in that a
- 4:22Speaker 2: lot better. Got to get a lot better this week
- 4:26Speaker 2: for sure for South Carolina. And that could be said
- 4:29Speaker 2: about a number of teams in the SEC at this
- 4:31Speaker 2: point in the season, Hutton. Man, just a beamer for
- 4:35Speaker 2: a moment. I really– I really respect Shane Beamer. I think.
- 4:41Speaker 1: He's refreshing whenever you chat with him. I feel like
- 4:45Speaker 1: he's the same guy behind the scenes that he is
- 4:47Speaker 1: in front of the camera. And I think that's rare.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I think it's hard to find real genuine dudes who
- 4:56Speaker 1: aren't afraid to say what's on their mind, but also
- 4:57Speaker 1: just be themselves. He's facing a season where he knows
- 5:03Speaker 1: he's on the hot seat. We asked him about that,
- 5:08Speaker 1: and he said, yeah, you think about it. Hard not to.
- 5:14Speaker 1: His kids are going to school, coming home, telling him
- 5:16Speaker 1: about it. Those are the things that I find refreshing
- 5:19Speaker 1: about him. He's us if we were in a role
- 5:24Speaker 1: like that. He's human. He's human about it. I feel
- 5:28Speaker 1: like making a move like this garners more respect in
- 5:33Speaker 1: the locker room than what some people may think. you know,
- 5:35Speaker 1: by Dylan Stewart being suspended. But, you know, how's that
- 5:38Speaker 1: going to go over the locker room? Well, not everybody
- 5:40Speaker 1: is going to be on that Stewart level of buy-in
- 5:44Speaker 1: or buy-out, you know, like cash out. That's just, that's
- 5:48Speaker 1: not how everyone is wired. And I feel like for
- 5:51Speaker 1: the most part, he would have a roster with guys
- 5:54Speaker 1: that are more like him than not like him.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I would totally agree. And look, Shane Beamer, this
- 6:01Speaker 2: is not disrespectful because Sacton is a tough job. And
- 6:05Speaker 2: I think it's almost even tougher now in the NIL
- 6:08Speaker 2: era to some extent. I've got the poster for the
- 6:11Speaker 2: movie The Program right behind me. It was shot at
- 6:14Speaker 2: a South Carolina football game. A lot of the scenes
- 6:15Speaker 2: for Eastern State University in that were done at South
- 6:19Speaker 2: Carolina games. That was their home stadium, was Williams-Brice in
- 6:22Speaker 2: that movie. It's a good job. It's a tough job
- 6:26Speaker 2: in the SEC. It's one of those jobs that South
- 6:29Speaker 2: Carolina people are probably saying, why not South Carolina? And
- 6:32Speaker 2: everybody else at the conference says, why South Carolina exactly?
- 6:35Speaker 2: Why should they be good in this league when you
- 6:37Speaker 2: look at the other programs and investment and everything else?
- 6:40Speaker 2: So he's got a very tough job there. I think
- 6:43Speaker 2: Shane Beamer is going to be a great coach in
- 6:44Speaker 2: the ACC. He strikes me as a terrific ACC coach.
- 6:50Speaker 2: If things continue to go south at Georgia Tech– let's say,
- 6:53Speaker 2: like Shane Beamer would be a great hire for a
- 6:56Speaker 2: Georgia Tech or take any job like that, like a
- 7:00Speaker 2: James Franklin at Virginia Tech. Yeah, I was going to say,
- 7:02Speaker 2: same type of level.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 7:05Speaker 2: If you get him to that level at a school
- 7:09Speaker 2: like that, I think he would do well and overachieve
- 7:12Speaker 2: to some extent or at least get them in some
- 7:14Speaker 2: contention with with the big boys in that conference. And
- 7:17Speaker 2: right now there's just a big boy in the ACC
- 7:19Speaker 2: and it's Miami. And then there's really everybody else. But
- 7:22Speaker 2: I think he could pretty quickly do that at a
- 7:24Speaker 2: school like that. I like Shane Beamer. I like that
- 7:27Speaker 2: he showed the balls to suspend the kid after behaving
- 7:31Speaker 2: the way he did and punching a player multiple times
- 7:33Speaker 2: and just acting a fool on the field. And I
- 7:36Speaker 2: hope he gets it figured out, but I just don't
- 7:38Speaker 2: see it. I don't see it with this team at all.
- 7:42Speaker 2: And there are two other shining examples of teams. I
- 7:44Speaker 2: just don't see anything going on with them right now, Hutton,
- 7:47Speaker 2: and it's what we saw from Oklahoma and Texas A &
- 7:49Speaker 2: M this past weekend. I mean, their offense, we talk about,
- 7:54Speaker 2: with Tennessee, at least you can explain it. It's an
- 7:57Speaker 2: 18-year-old against the best defense he's going to see all year,
- 8:00Speaker 2: and he had a really bad day. I don't understand
- 8:03Speaker 2: what's going on with Marcel Reed in that A &
- 8:05Speaker 2: M offense. That's the team I picked to be in
- 8:07Speaker 2: the playoff before the season. They can't throw it. They
- 8:10Speaker 2: can't run it. They can't do anything. And on the
- 8:12Speaker 2: other side, John Mateer looks terrible.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Which is nearly impossible given the fact that you've got his,
- 8:19Speaker 1: his coaching staff that came with him, you know, like
- 8:22Speaker 1: that's normally the recipe for success in college football is you,
- 8:25Speaker 1: you bring the staff with the quarterback. He's old. You
- 8:28Speaker 1: have everyone else around him integrate into the offensive system.
- 8:32Speaker 2: There's just, it's like, it's like a total offense.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Both those programs. I just, there's no excuse. No, there's
- 8:38Speaker 2: continuity there that they paid their, their roster. Well, to
- 8:42Speaker 2: come back, um, It's just really bad. I mean, look,
- 8:46Speaker 2: this just goes to show that, especially now in the SEC,
- 8:51Speaker 2: when you start getting into this juggernaut of a schedule
- 8:53Speaker 2: in nine games, there are going to be teams that
- 8:56Speaker 2: are top 10, top 15 that simply fall flat. And
- 8:59Speaker 2: it feels like a lost season for whatever reason. And
- 9:03Speaker 2: it's hard to explain at times why the teams look
- 9:07Speaker 2: the way they do. But I feel that way right
- 9:09Speaker 2: now about A & M, about Oklahoma. I knew this
- 9:12Speaker 2: was a possibility for South Carolina. This was kind of
- 9:14Speaker 2: the last Hail Mary. They had those top guys on
- 9:16Speaker 2: the roster. They needed all of them to stay healthy
- 9:19Speaker 2: and have big-time seasons for them to have a chance
- 9:22Speaker 2: to be good this year. It feels like that's not
- 9:24Speaker 2: going to happen, but that doesn't surprise me. Texas A &
- 9:27Speaker 2: M shocks me, the way they look. Oklahoma, less surprising,
- 9:31Speaker 2: looking bad.
- 9:32Speaker 1: But, I mean, John Mateer, it goes back to he's
- 9:35Speaker 1: an older guy who's been at multiple places.
- 9:37Speaker 2: This is the formula for success. Get you a 23-,
- 9:40Speaker 2: 24-year-old quarterback. That's seen it and done it. It's what works.
- 9:44Speaker 2: And that's what works. That's where we go back to
- 9:47Speaker 2: Tennessee and Texas. That's where Tennessee's at the disadvantage because
- 9:50Speaker 2: they're going into every game now in the SEC playing
- 9:53Speaker 2: a quarterback that's 18 years old. And it's just not
- 9:56Speaker 2: the way of the sport. I'm not saying it can't work.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I'm not saying it won't ultimately work. work. But for
- 10:01Speaker 2: this year, it feels like a square peg round hole
- 10:04Speaker 2: in the conference with what you're trying to do.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Man, and then A & M, that was just never close.
- 10:10Speaker 1: LSU just came out and boat raced. Just 1-800-ASK-WIP is
- 10:15Speaker 1: what that was, Chad. Not close.
- 10:18Speaker 2: That is the response you want to see. from LSU
- 10:20Speaker 2: after that emotional week going to Ole Miss and getting
- 10:23Speaker 2: beat is to respond the way they did. So Lane
- 10:25Speaker 2: Kiffin's got to be happy with that. They lose Whit Weeks,
- 10:28Speaker 2: his star linebacker for the year in the game, which
- 10:30Speaker 2: is not good. Broken leg. But Ole Miss, on the
- 10:34Speaker 2: flip side of that, hey, we bet with hard rock bet.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Vegas knows. It's one of those classic Vegas knows. Hawaii's
- 10:42Speaker 2: Florida favored. Oh, man, you must be doing drugs, John
- 10:46Speaker 2: Summerall said to favor us this week. And Florida just
- 10:49Speaker 2: went and just dominated. Won the game pretty easily. Start
- 10:53Speaker 2: to finish, great performance by the Gators.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I'm going to get to that in a moment. The
- 11:01Speaker 1: Marcel Reed thing, that's where I've really failed on my prediction.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I thought we were going to see him climb the ladder.
- 11:10Speaker 1: If it's not a plateau, he's been taking a step
- 11:12Speaker 1: down the rung. He's fallen back. As far as good
- 11:17Speaker 1: quarterback play, there's plenty of examples across the SEC right
- 11:21Speaker 1: now of good quarterback play. Marcel Reed should be one
- 11:23Speaker 1: of them, and it's not. I don't know why it's not,
- 11:27Speaker 1: but it hasn't resonated the way we're seeing other programs
- 11:31Speaker 1: lock in with coaching coordinator and quarterback. This has been
- 11:36Speaker 1: the opposite, Chad, and because of that, they're not competitive
- 11:40Speaker 1: whenever they start to get– when the rock starts going
- 11:44Speaker 1: down the hill, it becomes a boulder. And they can't
- 11:46Speaker 1: stop it. They never have been able to.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I think that of the biggest disappointments in the conference
- 11:52Speaker 2: right now in the front running is A & M
- 11:56Speaker 2: and or Oklahoma. I think South Carolina is kind of there,
- 12:00Speaker 2: but it's more expected with them. And then I think
- 12:04Speaker 2: you've got to look at Mississippi State and Florida as
- 12:06Speaker 2: the two teams that could be way better than anybody
- 12:08Speaker 2: expecting the conference. Outside of that, it's about what we expected.
- 12:13Speaker 2: You know, at this point in the season. I would
- 12:15Speaker 2: say Tennessee 3-1. About what I expected through four games.
- 12:19Speaker 2: You know, losing a close game to Texas at home.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Texas needs to be better offensively, but about what I
- 12:25Speaker 2: expected with the talent on that team. Alabama might be
- 12:28Speaker 2: a little bit better than expected. I think their offense
- 12:31Speaker 2: is really, really good.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Vandy? No, I said maybe. Maybe on Vandy. Might be
- 12:37Speaker 1: a little bit better, yeah. Yeah, Vandy about what I expected.
- 12:41Speaker 2: You know, at this point in the season, I would
- 12:43Speaker 2: say maybe a little bit worse, but they got a
- 12:45Speaker 2: young quarterback that's going to figure it out too.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:47Speaker 2: As he goes along.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Kentucky may be a little bit better than we thought.
- 12:52Speaker 2: It's just A & M and Oklahoma to me, if
- 12:55Speaker 2: you're fans of those schools, it just, it's early. I
- 12:58Speaker 2: know it's a third of the way through the season,
- 13:00Speaker 2: but doesn't it just feel like a lost season already?
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yes.
- 13:03Speaker 2: If you're those two fan bases. I mean, I don't
- 13:05Speaker 2: see any signs of life offensively. Coming up, we'll discuss Florida.
- 13:10Speaker 2: And Mississippi State and that matchup that they had against
- 13:14Speaker 2: Missouri in the back-and-forth game and what it leads to
- 13:17Speaker 2: this upcoming week against Alabama. That's straight ahead here on
- 13:21Speaker 2: Hunt and Withrow presented by Hard Rock Bet. Hunt and
- 13:23Speaker 2: Withrow presented by Hard Rock Bet. XXXY Athletics founded by
- 13:28Speaker 2: Jennifer Say, former national champion gymnast, former Levi's brand president.
- 13:32Speaker 2: She walked away from a corporate job rather than to
- 13:34Speaker 2: say something she didn't believe, and she started XXXY Athletics instead.
- 13:38Speaker 2: The mission's in their words is to empower female athletes
- 13:40Speaker 2: to take a stand for fair competition, and they call
- 13:43Speaker 2: it the T that launched the movement.
- 13:44Speaker 1: It's real athletic apparel, Chad.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Real athletic apparel, and it's really the only place you
- 13:49Speaker 2: can get Nashville Balls merch with the WNBA franchise of
- 13:52Speaker 2: the XXXYs. And if you want the shirt, that's where
- 13:54Speaker 2: you get it. New customers get 20% off your first
- 13:57Speaker 2: order when you sign up and free shipping over $ 100. X, X, X,
- 14:00Speaker 2: Y athletics.com. That's X, X hyphen X, Y athletics.com.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Man. How about Mississippi state? Camaro Taylor.
- 14:08Speaker 2: They're awesome.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Great, great performance. Great game by Missouri too. I need
- 14:12Speaker 1: to throw that out there. Missouri played a tight, tight
- 14:14Speaker 1: game too. That was a fun game. That was, that
- 14:17Speaker 1: was worthy of being like kind of the nightcap to
- 14:19Speaker 1: the Southeastern conference Saturday. That was a jam packed. It's
- 14:24Speaker 1: the game that no one was really talking about going
- 14:26Speaker 1: during the week. And, um, We thoroughly enjoyed watching it
- 14:29Speaker 1: late Saturday night.
- 14:31Speaker 2: It's incredible that Missouri is just habitually overlooked. Every season,
- 14:36Speaker 2: every time you look at the standings or talk about
- 14:38Speaker 2: teams in the SEC, Eli Drinkwitz is right. They are
- 14:41Speaker 2: habitually overlooked. They're never bad. Either offense or defense, they
- 14:46Speaker 2: excel from year to year. That's a good football team
- 14:50Speaker 2: going into a hostile environment. I was very impressed with
- 14:53Speaker 2: Missouri coming out of that game also. I think they're
- 14:56Speaker 2: a bit better than anybody expected. Kamario Taylor and this
- 14:59Speaker 2: talk about him entering the transfer portal, I know Nick
- 15:01Speaker 2: Saban even on game day said, if I'm still coaching,
- 15:04Speaker 2: I'm trying to come up with money to get him
- 15:06Speaker 2: in the portal, or I'm trying to get him in
- 15:08Speaker 2: the transfer portal to come to my school if I'm
- 15:10Speaker 2: a coach right now, and I see that. I understand
- 15:14Speaker 2: that it's Mississippi State and that historically they're not one
- 15:17Speaker 2: of the top SEC programs. I also believe the kid
- 15:21Speaker 2: and believe everyone around him. It's like, look, he's from Macon, Mississippi.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs has said, I
- 15:29Speaker 2: am going to donate to keep him. We have to
- 15:32Speaker 2: keep the quarterback at Mississippi State. Mississippi State is going
- 15:35Speaker 2: to look under their couch cushions. They're going to go
- 15:37Speaker 2: to anyone they can. They're going to pay Kamario Taylor
- 15:40Speaker 2: enough to stay. I believe the kid, and I don't
- 15:42Speaker 2: think he's leaving. I don't think he's going to enter
- 15:43Speaker 2: the portal. especially if they continue to have a really
- 15:46Speaker 2: good season. I think he's going to come back. He's
- 15:48Speaker 2: also going to be a top five pick in the
- 15:49Speaker 2: NFL draft the year after that. So he's going to
- 15:52Speaker 2: have one more year after this, then he's draft eligible
- 15:54Speaker 2: the way he looks. I think he's going to be
- 15:56Speaker 2: a very high draft pick when he does come out.
- 15:59Speaker 2: He looks really, really good.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I mean, there is a difference to him throwing the
- 16:03Speaker 1: football than most guys across the sport, right, when you
- 16:06Speaker 1: see his arm talent. I hate saying this, but I
- 16:09Speaker 1: do expect him to enter the portal because everyone does.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Everyone does. I mean, it's just what you do. I mean,
- 16:16Speaker 1: if you don't, you're doing a malpractice to you and
- 16:18Speaker 1: your family. Can you imagine, though, if he goes to LSU,
- 16:22Speaker 1: let's say, after Sam Levitt's time? And like Lane Kiffin,
- 16:26Speaker 1: you know, his tweet, he's back on social media and
- 16:29Speaker 1: he's like, you're welcome, Ole Miss.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I took away your rival quarterback in the state to
- 16:34Speaker 2: come to LSU. I mean, look, I could see it happening, certainly.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I just think the talk already of him It's just.
- 16:42Speaker 1: What I don't love about the sport right now is
- 16:46Speaker 1: that instead of enjoying him at Mississippi State and letting
- 16:49Speaker 1: Mississippi State fans enjoy the moment, every single pregame show
- 16:53Speaker 1: and talking head, their only talk is, I wonder where
- 16:56Speaker 1: he's going to play next year. How is he going
- 16:58Speaker 1: to look in this offense or that offense? It's only
- 16:59Speaker 1: because it's Mississippi State, right? If this were Alabama or
- 17:03Speaker 1: Tennessee or LSU, no one's talking about the portal for
- 17:06Speaker 1: those guys. Those guys will enter it too just because
- 17:08Speaker 1: that's how you get a raise. You can stay where
- 17:10Speaker 1: you are. You enter the portal, everybody ups their offer
- 17:14Speaker 1: where you are, and you re-sign where you are.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Well, we've talked about DGG and Tennessee and what their
- 17:20Speaker 2: offense should be next year with five five-star players playing
- 17:24Speaker 2: on the same offense. But even when I say that,
- 17:27Speaker 2: I always have to end it with, well, if everybody stays.
- 17:30Speaker 1: If everyone stays. Yeah, who knows?
- 17:31Speaker 2: Like someone's going to be upset about something or they're
- 17:33Speaker 2: going to go get more money somewhere else and they'll
- 17:35Speaker 2: enter the portal to leave. And they might have three
- 17:36Speaker 2: of those guys. They might have two of them. They
- 17:38Speaker 2: might have all of them. I have no idea what's
- 17:40Speaker 2: going to happen. But it's just that's how you look
- 17:42Speaker 2: forward and project. I think Faison Brandon will be back.
- 17:44Speaker 2: You know, I think it's more of a multi-year deal
- 17:46Speaker 2: with him. But outside of that, I don't know. But
- 17:48Speaker 2: would it shock me? I mean, Nico Amaleava left after
- 17:51Speaker 2: a spring game. To go to UCLA. So crazy things
- 17:54Speaker 2: happen everywhere. Let's just enjoy the moment with him at
- 17:58Speaker 2: Mississippi State and what that team is. I said it
- 18:01Speaker 2: before the season, I still believe it, that they could
- 18:03Speaker 2: crash the college football playoff party and be that surprise
- 18:06Speaker 2: team that enters similar to Oklahoma, surprising.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Everyone a year ago.
- 18:11Speaker 2: The other one that is a big surprise to me
- 18:13Speaker 2: right now is damn Florida looks really good on offense
- 18:16Speaker 2: with Buster Faulkner as the offensive coordinator and what they're
- 18:20Speaker 2: doing with Jaden Baugh. and that running game. Man, that
- 18:24Speaker 2: was an impressive performance against Ole Miss on Saturday.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Man, they ran wild. 302 rushing yards in that game,
- 18:31Speaker 1: six touchdowns on the ground. You've got Florida, 12-game losing
- 18:36Speaker 1: streak against top five opponents. That's hard to believe, too.
- 18:41Speaker 1: That ended in this. And the SEC title race is
- 18:46Speaker 1: wide open, man. Wide open with how some of these
- 18:49Speaker 1: teams are playing.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Totally agree. And if you want an endorsement for Buster Faulkner,
- 18:55Speaker 2: look at Georgia Tech since he left, losing to Stanford
- 18:59Speaker 2: this past weekend. I mean, that is a train wreck
- 19:02Speaker 2: of a season in development right now for Georgia Tech.
- 19:05Speaker 2: They completely fall off. And I know Haynes King, who's gone,
- 19:08Speaker 2: had a big part of it and all that too. But, man,
- 19:10Speaker 2: and he goes to Florida, and they look good in
- 19:13Speaker 2: year one. I don't know how to feel about Florida,
- 19:17Speaker 2: you know, who's been down for a bit now with
- 19:19Speaker 2: Billy Napier. their return to prominence, how it shifts things
- 19:24Speaker 2: in the SEC moving forward. But it looks like the
- 19:26Speaker 2: Gators have a coach with John Sumrall, and they're going
- 19:29Speaker 2: to be relevant for some time to come.
- 19:31Speaker 1: And I just expected, like, going into last week, man,
- 19:36Speaker 1: I'm looking at that spread. It's 3.5 or 2.5, whatever
- 19:39Speaker 1: it was, and I'm thinking, this is Ole Miss with
- 19:41Speaker 1: Trinidad Chambliss. Like, okay, if they lose, it's a tight game.
- 19:46Speaker 1: It's a turnover. Florida wins a low-scoring game. Opposite of
- 19:52Speaker 1: every trajectory in that. This was a 1-800 boat race.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I mean, not even close, Chad. It was the massacre
- 20:03Speaker 1: in the swamp. The way that they turned on the
- 20:06Speaker 1: rockets and just throttled Ole Miss. That was the most
- 20:10Speaker 1: shocking part of this. I never would have predicted that,
- 20:13Speaker 1: no matter the spread.
- 20:15Speaker 2: And it's a great example of, I said to steal
- 20:20Speaker 2: a line from Coach Mack, keep your powder dry.
- 20:23Speaker 1: That is this league this year.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Ole Miss went from the highest of highs that we
- 20:27Speaker 2: witnessed live in Oxford to you are the talk of America.
- 20:31Speaker 2: People are raving about the square at Oxford. They're raving
- 20:34Speaker 2: about your environment. They're raving about your guys giving Lane
- 20:37Speaker 2: Kiffin the middle finger after the interception. And running off
- 20:40Speaker 2: the field, that whole thing. Trinidad Chambliss, the postgame interview,
- 20:44Speaker 2: you are the talk of America. Trinidad Chambliss, best player
- 20:46Speaker 2: in college football, will single-handedly win every game at Ole Miss. To, uh-oh,
- 20:52Speaker 2: you mean to tell me you're the underdog now on
- 20:54Speaker 2: the road? What's going on there? To, uh-oh, not only
- 20:57Speaker 2: are you the underdog, Florida's going to cover with ease
- 21:00Speaker 2: and score 52 points on you. This is an uh-oh
- 21:03Speaker 2: league now. Every single week will tell its own different
- 21:08Speaker 2: individual story. And once you think you know one week,
- 21:11Speaker 2: you may be thinking something completely different the next. You know,
- 21:14Speaker 2: it is truly, this is cliche, and it's used in
- 21:18Speaker 2: the NFL all the time. This is a week-to-week conference
- 21:21Speaker 2: right now with these teams. I can easily sit there
- 21:24Speaker 2: and project, okay, this is going to be a tough stretch.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I think Alabama's coming up has, at Mississippi State, Georgia, Tennessee,
- 21:33Speaker 2: and at Tennessee in a three-week stretch. That's a brutal stretch.
- 21:37Speaker 2: But what we may not be thinking about is some
- 21:40Speaker 2: other home loss they're going to drop later in the
- 21:41Speaker 2: year that nobody's even thinking about right now because that's
- 21:44Speaker 2: just going to be a day where the other team
- 21:45Speaker 2: plays great and you don't show up ready to go
- 21:48Speaker 2: or don't have a good game. So just be careful
- 21:52Speaker 2: with what you think you believe, even at this point
- 21:55Speaker 2: in the season. What are some truly things that we
- 21:58Speaker 2: can bank on right now? Florida's quite a bit better
- 22:00Speaker 2: than we thought. Kamario Taylor, I think, is the best
- 22:03Speaker 2: quarterback in the conference. I believe that. Believe it at
- 22:06Speaker 2: this point. And also, Georgia is awesome. We don't talk
- 22:10Speaker 2: enough about them because they just played their first SEC game,
- 22:13Speaker 2: but they look like an absolute machine. And I think
- 22:16Speaker 2: Texas is inevitable. That's how I would describe them. They're
- 22:19Speaker 2: going to win a bunch of close games because they
- 22:21Speaker 2: have dudes all over the field, and they've got a
- 22:23Speaker 2: suffocating defense with Will Muschamp. So they are going to,
- 22:26Speaker 2: like a python, sort of squeeze the life out of
- 22:29Speaker 2: games and win some low-scoring games like we saw in
- 22:32Speaker 2: Knoxville this past week. And I think that's going to
- 22:34Speaker 2: be the Texas M.O. for much of the year.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Well, you mentioned it too. Like any given week in
- 22:40Speaker 1: the SEC, three of the next five opponents for the
- 22:43Speaker 1: Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama and Florida and Ole Miss. Those are
- 22:48Speaker 1: three of the next five because I think everyone's going
- 22:49Speaker 1: to be like, oh, they got Vanderbilt this week. They
- 22:51Speaker 1: do have Vanderbilt this week. They have Auburn in three weeks.
- 22:55Speaker 1: But beyond that, those are three of the next five.
- 22:59Speaker 1: And I love Georgia. They're not going undefeated in those games.
- 23:02Speaker 2: No.
- 23:03Speaker 1: They're just not.
- 23:04Speaker 2: There's going to be a loss or losses along the way.
- 23:08Speaker 2: You just can't have– we'll go back to the Tennessee-Texas example.
- 23:13Speaker 2: For Tennessee, you cannot let Alex Golish come in with Auburn,
- 23:18Speaker 2: your former assistant coach, and beat you in Knoxville this weekend.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I think Tennessee's an eight, seven-and-a-half, eight-point favorite at home.
- 23:25Speaker 2: You have to find a way by any means necessary
- 23:27Speaker 2: to win that game.
- 23:28Speaker 1: You do that.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I feel pretty good about Tennessee against Arkansas. Arkansas is
- 23:32Speaker 2: the one team that I'm challenged to find where they're
- 23:34Speaker 2: going to have success against anybody in this conference.
- 23:37Speaker 1: But if you're Tennessee, you've got to set it up now.
- 23:40Speaker 1: You've got to be 5-1 hosting Alabama. That's the next
- 23:43Speaker 1: big challenge for you is to get there. That's what
- 23:46Speaker 1: they should do. But as we've seen, crazy things happen.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Surprises happen. I thought Auburn was just okay against Vandy, honestly. Yeah,
- 23:58Speaker 1: they were. It was 21-15.
- 23:59Speaker 2: It didn't even feel that close, though. It was mostly
- 24:01Speaker 2: a two-score game, and Vandy kind of scored. Then Auburn
- 24:04Speaker 2: just drove as long as they needed to until the
- 24:06Speaker 2: clock expired after that. Kind of a weird, uneventful game. But, yeah,
- 24:12Speaker 2: we're going to see what happens this next week. But
- 24:15Speaker 2: big takeaway from the weekend, Florida's back. I think it's
- 24:19Speaker 2: safe to say right now with John Sumrall, they're all
- 24:22Speaker 2: the way back with that win over Ole Miss.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Florida's back. Look, I think a lot of the air
- 24:28Speaker 1: is out of the balloon on Ole Miss, but I'm
- 24:30Speaker 1: still all in on Trinidad Chandler.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Me too. And I'm not down on Ole Miss. They
- 24:38Speaker 2: beat LSU already. They're going to win big games. They've
- 24:42Speaker 2: got some big ones coming up. And boy, that Egg
- 24:44Speaker 2: Bowl looks a lot different now. than we would have
- 24:46Speaker 2: thought of coming into the season. Also, with that quarterback matchup,
- 24:48Speaker 2: if both are healthy by the end of the year. So, yeah,
- 24:51Speaker 2: I've certainly not given up on Ole Miss. I still
- 24:53Speaker 2: think they have a great shot at not just making
- 24:56Speaker 2: the college football playoff, but being a team that can
- 24:59Speaker 2: win games in that playoff.
- 25:00Speaker 1: And I know Jerry Curtis threw another pick in this game,
- 25:03Speaker 1: but again, I think this is a Vanderbilt team that
- 25:06Speaker 1: improves as we see the season progress. They're going to
- 25:10Speaker 1: be one of these teams– to your point, Chad, that
- 25:13Speaker 1: are going to knock off one of these top teams
- 25:15Speaker 1: as an upset, you know, just because their week is
- 25:19Speaker 1: going to be the week that's to come, not the
- 25:21Speaker 1: week that they're having right now.
- 25:23Speaker 2: They are going to get, I'm totally with you, they
- 25:25Speaker 2: are going to knock off a big boy at some
- 25:28Speaker 2: point along the way. Like, they are going to get somebody.
- 25:31Speaker 2: I'd have to look at their schedule and give you
- 25:32Speaker 2: my best guess as to who that big boy is
- 25:35Speaker 2: at some point in the year, but I think they're
- 25:38Speaker 2: definitely going to do that. I think both Vanderbilt and Tennessee,
- 25:40Speaker 2: by the end of the year, because they've got freshman quarterbacks,
- 25:44Speaker 2: you're going to be saying, oh boy, wait until next year.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Whether that's going to be true or not, I think
- 25:49Speaker 2: you're going to be saying that about both offenses by
- 25:51Speaker 2: the end of the season.
- 25:52Speaker 1: They've got Georgia this week. They followed up by hosting
- 25:55Speaker 1: Ole Miss. They will host Arkansas, visit Kentucky. They will
- 26:01Speaker 1: go to Mississippi State, and then they host Alabama.
- 26:07Speaker 2: So I would put Ole Miss or Alabama as the
- 26:11Speaker 2: two likely ones that they could get one of those.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Are they at Mississippi State?
- 26:15Speaker 1: Yeah, they're at Mississippi State November 7th.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Yeah, and that could be a gigantic upset, you know,
- 26:21Speaker 2: at that point in the year with Mississippi State. So
- 26:23Speaker 2: they're going to have some opportunities and a great chance
- 26:25Speaker 2: at wins in the SEC with Arkansas and Kentucky with
- 26:27Speaker 2: both those games for them coming up. So, yeah, not
- 26:31Speaker 2: all bad. Not all bad for the Doors at all.
- 26:34Speaker 2: There's a lot of teams I feel that way about.
- 26:35Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, they're fine. They're going to be fine.
- 26:38Speaker 2: I'll leave it like Missouri.
- 26:39Speaker 1: You know, I'm like, yeah, Missouri is going to be fine.
- 26:41Speaker 2: They play close. They scored points. Like I don't, I'm
- 26:44Speaker 2: not doing backflips over anything with some of them, but
- 26:47Speaker 2: I'm like, that program is just fine. South Carolina, not
- 26:50Speaker 2: fine right now as a program and under Beamer. Texas
- 26:54Speaker 2: A & M, not fine.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Not good.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Right now, the way it's gone. Oklahoma, not good. Not
- 26:58Speaker 2: good at all. But for the rest of the conference,
- 27:00Speaker 2: I kind of look at them and say, boy, this
- 27:01Speaker 2: team's maybe even a little bit better than I thought.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Or they're just fine. They're kind of right where I
- 27:05Speaker 2: thought they were going to be, and they've got everything
- 27:07Speaker 2: left in front of them.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Sure. Hey, coming up, we made what? We've got credit due.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Credit is due across Hard Rock Bet. That's next here
- 27:16Speaker 1: on Hutley Withrow. Tony Withrow presented by Hard Rock Bet.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Right now, new customers, $ 5. You get $ 100 in bonus bets.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Bet five, get 100 in bonus bets. Ends October 4th,
- 27:29Speaker 1: so take advantage of this while you can. Hardrock.bet.clay. Hardrock.bet.clay.
- 27:35Speaker 1: For new customers, bet five, get 100 in bonus bets. Chad,
- 27:40Speaker 1: credits due with our Hard Rock locks. We did okay.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Here's a recap. Kicking things off here, I'm taking Oregon
- 27:51Speaker 1: and USC, the over 62 and a half. And here's why.
- 27:57Speaker 1: We saw that Oklahoma State put up 550 yards on Oregon.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Rutgers just put up over 450 yards against USC's defense.
- 28:07Speaker 1: USC with 12 touchdown passes on the season. Oregon scored
- 28:11Speaker 1: 84 last week. I don't care who they're playing, 84
- 28:14Speaker 1: stands out to me. Do I think both teams can
- 28:17Speaker 1: score in the 30s? Yes. So I'm taking the over
- 28:20Speaker 1: 62.5 as my hard rock lock of the week. I
- 28:23Speaker 1: like it. We're about to go 2-0 this week. I
- 28:26Speaker 1: can feel it in my loins when I look at
- 28:28Speaker 1: these games. I looked at two different Big Ten road
- 28:33Speaker 1: underdogs to cover. Actually, sorry, two road favorites to cover
- 28:38Speaker 1: the spread.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I looked at Nebraska at Michigan State, and I think
- 28:41Speaker 2: it's now minus 6.5 or minus 6.0. I think Nebraska
- 28:45Speaker 2: wins that game comfortably. I don't think Michigan State is
- 28:48Speaker 2: very good. The other one I looked at is the
- 28:50Speaker 2: one I'm going to go with on my lock. UCLA
- 28:53Speaker 2: going to College Park to take on Maryland, a one
- 28:56Speaker 2: and a half point favorite. Look, I know this game's
- 28:59Speaker 2: early in the day and it's way early West Coast
- 29:02Speaker 2: time for UCLA. I know about travel and all of that.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I think UCLA is flat out better than Maryland. I
- 29:08Speaker 2: think that UCLA is going to do to Mike Loxley
- 29:11Speaker 2: and Maryland what they did to James Franklin and Penn
- 29:14Speaker 2: State a year ago, which was start the line or
- 29:18Speaker 2: maybe even end it to fire the head coach. UCLA
- 29:22Speaker 2: and Nico, they're going to go to College Park. They're
- 29:24Speaker 2: going to win by more than one and a half.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Give me UCLA as a slight road favorite to cover
- 29:31Speaker 2: in the Big Ten.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Yes, Hunt and Withrow roll with us with Hard Rock, Matt.
- 29:36Speaker 1: We got it done, Chad. Both winners. Yes, we did, Hutton.
- 29:41Speaker 2: It was the inevitable with Mike Loxley and that team
- 29:45Speaker 2: after what I saw the week before. I didn't think
- 29:47Speaker 2: UCLA was going to win 54-3 the way they did,
- 29:50Speaker 2: but I did feel good about the one and a
- 29:52Speaker 2: half points, and they covered that easily. And Nebraska also.
- 29:55Speaker 2: I could have gone with two locks on that one.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Wins easily.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Against Michigan State the way I thought they might in
- 30:01Speaker 2: that game. I'm 4-0 with my locks. Our parlay's not
- 30:05Speaker 2: doing quite as well, but 4-0. More difficult with the parlay.
- 30:09Speaker 2: We're going to keep rolling. It's hard to hit a parlay, too.
- 30:12Speaker 1: You're right. Yeah, more difficult with the parlay, but the locks,
- 30:15Speaker 1: and we're not going with the same picks for our
- 30:17Speaker 1: parlay as our locks. Maybe we should do that.
- 30:21Speaker 2: If we wanted to juice our numbers in the prediction
- 30:23Speaker 2: market uh with hard rock bet we could certainly just
- 30:26Speaker 2: use our lock as the parlay each week too and
- 30:28Speaker 2: not go with anything else but we want to give
- 30:30Speaker 2: the people plenty of options to go with with hard
- 30:33Speaker 2: rock dot bet slash clay and make sure you can
- 30:37Speaker 2: get that hundred dollars where you can go play.
- 30:39Speaker 1: It hey so uh on wednesdays we have going for
- 30:42Speaker 1: the bundle We do that each and every Wednesday. That's
- 30:44Speaker 1: the parlay that Chad's referring to. Hard rock lock every Thursday.
- 30:48Speaker 1: We're giving you winners. And then prop it like it's
- 30:50Speaker 1: hot on Fridays. NFL, did okay. I did okay in
- 30:56Speaker 1: the NFL this weekend, Chad. College football is where it's at, though,
- 30:59Speaker 1: for me, with the wins. Mississippi State helped me out
- 31:03Speaker 1: quite a bit on Saturday night. And look, with the
- 31:08Speaker 1: line open, Tennessee and Texas, I had that game at
- 31:10Speaker 1: 7 1⁄2. Don't hate it. Certainly don't hate it.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I know Kelly and Ariel had it at four
- 31:19Speaker 2: and a half, I think. So they were really excited
- 31:21Speaker 2: with that last touchdown by Tennessee because they had Tennessee
- 31:23Speaker 2: covering the four and a half, which ended up happening
- 31:25Speaker 2: for them. Yeah, I've been way more successful with college
- 31:29Speaker 2: weekends than NFL, too. I do not want to talk
- 31:33Speaker 2: about my NFL Sunday with some of the decisions that
- 31:36Speaker 2: I've made. I thought, and I think we talked about
- 31:39Speaker 2: on the show, that Justin Herbert then the Chargers would
- 31:43Speaker 2: show up and bat against the wall with Harbaugh and
- 31:46Speaker 2: shock everybody and go into Buffalo and win. That did
- 31:49Speaker 2: not happen. And I heard Tom Brady just basically clowning
- 31:52Speaker 2: Justin Herbert on that one interception. Said he threw a
- 31:55Speaker 2: big meatball sub into the.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Middle of the field.
- 31:57Speaker 2: He said, well, he's throwing it here, and the problem
- 31:59Speaker 2: is there's a safety standing right there where he's throwing it.
- 32:02Speaker 2: He easily comes up and gets it. And that's not
- 32:05Speaker 2: good for Justin Herbert. Boy, that team. We talk about
- 32:08Speaker 2: A & M and Oklahoma being disappointments. Are the Chargers
- 32:11Speaker 2: the biggest disappointment right now in the NFL based off expectations?
- 32:14Speaker 1: I think so. Yeah, I think it's them. I'm trying
- 32:17Speaker 1: to think who else it would be as far as
- 32:20Speaker 1: big disappointments go. Texans? Texans so far, yeah, that's a
- 32:25Speaker 1: good one.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Texans pretty disappointing.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Don't agree with that one. The Patriots, but again, I
- 32:30Speaker 1: didn't have the Patriots in the playoffs. So, you know,
- 32:34Speaker 1: they get boat racing Jacksonville. But like a lot of
- 32:36Speaker 1: people were expecting a lot of things out of New England,
- 32:39Speaker 1: I thought New England was going to take a step back.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Drake May, Diana Rossini's pick for MVP a year ago,
- 32:46Speaker 2: looks awful.
- 32:48Speaker 1: I mean, awful.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Said he had blood on the ball when he just lost.
- 32:51Speaker 2: He John Mateered it where he just lost it trying
- 32:54Speaker 2: to throw it for a fumble at one point. You
- 32:56Speaker 2: got Mike Vrabel saying, I'm very– Very concerned. Concern level
- 33:00Speaker 2: is high with this football team right now, which was
- 33:03Speaker 2: funny that he said that. And hey, the Rams are 1-2. Also,
- 33:06Speaker 2: it feels different because they had that weird game How
- 33:08Speaker 2: about that comeback last night by Denver? Yeah. And I'm
- 33:11Speaker 2: not concerned about the Rams, but they are 1-2 right
- 33:13Speaker 2: now on the season. They lost a close one to
- 33:15Speaker 2: Denver last night.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Right now, Monday Night Football, it is Chicago and Philadelphia.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Chicago coming off of a disappointing loss to the Vikings.
- 33:26Speaker 1: And meanwhile, you've got You have backup quarterback Tyson Bajet.
- 33:31Speaker 1: He's clearing concussion protocol, but he's going to serve as
- 33:35Speaker 1: the backup to third stringer Case Keenum. Chad, so Case
- 33:39Speaker 1: Keenum is going to throw an NFL pass for the
- 33:41Speaker 1: first time since 2024, I believe. His first start since 2021.
- 33:45Speaker 1: There you go. Get ready. You're ready for sloppy Monday night. Eagles, Bears.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Are you guys– did you guys win your fantasy games
- 33:58Speaker 1: this week, or are you winning? You know what? I've
- 34:00Speaker 1: got to go check on that. That's a great question.
- 34:04Speaker 2: JT, hop on. Did you win, or are you winning
- 34:06Speaker 2: right now?
- 34:08Speaker 4: I would prefer to not discuss that, Chad.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Okay, okay.
- 34:10Speaker 1: I get it. I think if we maybe could.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Reshow the graphic last week where everybody was 2-0, I'd
- 34:14Speaker 4: feel a lot better.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:16Speaker 4: I think I'm about 10 or 15 points down, but
- 34:18Speaker 4: I think I've got Reno this week, and I think
- 34:20Speaker 4: he's got somebody tonight, so I don't.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Oh, Reno's a good– Reno's top four, though, so he's
- 34:25Speaker 1: a good team.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not a bad loss. I am up 31 points,
- 34:30Speaker 2: and I've got playing someone with DeAndre Swift tonight. So
- 34:34Speaker 2: that's what worries me about the lack of Caleb Williams.
- 34:37Speaker 2: They're going to be more reliant on the run game.
- 34:39Speaker 2: So I just need DeAndre Swift to not go off.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Derrick Henry had two touchdowns yesterday and rushed pretty well
- 34:46Speaker 2: and had, I think, 21 points for me. So I'm
- 34:48Speaker 2: pretty hopeful that DeAndre Swift doesn't score 32 points tonight.
- 34:52Speaker 2: In tonight's game, fantasy points, but I'll be watching that
- 34:55Speaker 2: game closely because if he doesn't, then I'm going to
- 34:57Speaker 2: be 3-0.
- 34:58Speaker 1: I'm currently up by 15, but likely to lose because
- 35:03Speaker 1: Gaffish Jake has the Eagles defense tonight against Case Keenum.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I don't know what happened with the scoring system at
- 35:09Speaker 2: ESPN with fantasy football, but I feel like it's way
- 35:12Speaker 2: too skewed for defense. I mean, I'm getting like 40
- 35:15Speaker 2: points regularly defensively, and my team gave up 35 in
- 35:19Speaker 2: a game, and they still scored 38 points. I had
- 35:21Speaker 2: the Patriots defense, and they still scored me almost 40
- 35:25Speaker 2: points in the game. So I don't know what ESPN
- 35:26Speaker 2: is doing with their scoring system.
- 35:27Speaker 1: You must be getting a lot of interceptions then.
- 35:30Speaker 2: I don't know what's happening. But every week I've had
- 35:32Speaker 2: a ton of points on defense, a ton.
- 35:34Speaker 4: I've been the same way. Are you guys starting your
- 35:36Speaker 4: head coach at all? I think it's just a point
- 35:38Speaker 4: either way. But I just decided I'm just going to
- 35:40Speaker 4: sit my head coach and not take a chance to
- 35:42Speaker 4: lose that point.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 35:45Speaker 2: That's really funny. That's an interesting strategy.
- 35:47Speaker 1: My problem has been I've got Vrabel, so it does
- 35:51Speaker 1: nothing but lose.
- 35:52Speaker 2: See, I've got the Eagles coaching, and so I've got
- 35:56Speaker 2: Nick Sirianni. Wouldn't it be hilarious, though, if the guy
- 36:00Speaker 2: I'm playing tonight scored 32 and then I got the
- 36:02Speaker 2: win for the Eagles and that one point put me
- 36:05Speaker 2: a half point ahead of him? So you think you won,
- 36:06Speaker 2: then the game goes final and I get one point
- 36:09Speaker 2: for Eagles head.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Coach and it jumps me over? That's kind of the
- 36:12Speaker 1: scenario I'm hoping for tomorrow. We need Saquon Barkley to
- 36:16Speaker 1: show up in this game, Chad. Anytime touchdown? Should we
- 36:19Speaker 1: go anytime touchdown tonight? Yeah, we don't. I mean, it depends.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Going back to the movie, the program, does it look
- 36:29Speaker 2: like Steve Latimer with the huge cowboy collar out there
- 36:32Speaker 2: the way when he came back on the sideline in
- 36:34Speaker 2: Nashville last week?
- 36:35Speaker 1: He is minus 115 to score a touchdown. Best odds
- 36:38Speaker 1: to score is Saquon Barkley, followed by DeAndre Swift, Jalen Hurts,
- 36:43Speaker 1: and Devontae Smith. And then I'm trying to scroll down
- 36:48Speaker 1: through here. Where's the backup? Where is the backup running
- 36:52Speaker 1: back for Saquon Barkley? You've got to go a ways.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Tank Bixby, plus 525. Is he hurt? I don't know.
- 36:59Speaker 1: But Tank Bixby is the backup, and he's plus 525
- 37:02Speaker 1: to score a touchdown.
- 37:03Speaker 2: I feel like we're just stealing money there. Like, we've
- 37:05Speaker 2: got to take Tank, right, in this game? We've got to.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Plus 520? Plus 525 to score one touchdown tonight.
- 37:14Speaker 3: All right. Hey.
- 37:15Speaker 1: $ 5, wouldn't you? $ 31. 25.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Let's everyone at Hard Rock Bet play that one, please.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Like right now, let's make a lot of money on
- 37:24Speaker 2: Tank Bits. You do have to go way down.
- 37:26Speaker 1: You've got to find him.
- 37:28Speaker 2: He's below Khalif Raymond on the touchdown list.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Incredible.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Just above Will Shipley. This is a gift to the gods.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Maybe Will Shipley, too.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Plus $ 600.
- 37:41Speaker 2: What if you parlayed both anytime touchdowns? Both the backup
- 37:45Speaker 2: running backs. To get in the end zone.
- 37:47Speaker 1: I'm going to do that. Bixby and Shipley?
- 37:51Speaker 2: I mean, I'm doing it.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I'm doing both. If you parlay it and put $ 5
- 37:54Speaker 1: on it, you could win $ 296, Chad.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Hun, this is what we call a screw it Monday.
- 37:59Speaker 2: I'm doing both. Both Will Shipley.
- 38:04Speaker 1: You know what?
- 38:04Speaker 2: I'm going to parlay the two also. Will Shipley and
- 38:07Speaker 2: Tank Bixby anytime touchdown. I don't know if you could
- 38:09Speaker 2: do that, but I'm going to try.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Yeah, you can. You're going to win about $ 300 on
- 38:12Speaker 1: a $ 5 bet.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Yeah, this is happening. I can feel it. I can
- 38:17Speaker 2: feel it just like I did.
- 38:19Speaker 1: You feel it down in your plums?
- 38:20Speaker 2: I can feel it in my plums. It's a bluish
- 38:22Speaker 2: hue right now. It's actually a greenish hue with the Eagles.
- 38:26Speaker 2: I'm feeling it right now. Yeah, we're doing it. And
- 38:29Speaker 2: if this hits, we will change tomorrow's Hard Rock Bet
- 38:32Speaker 2: segment into us just discussing how we just won, by
- 38:36Speaker 2: the bets that I just placed, about $ 476 based on
- 38:40Speaker 2: Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby both scoring touchdowns tonight.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Tomorrow we take an early look at the SEC lines,
- 38:47Speaker 1: which are out now. We'll get to that too. For
- 38:51Speaker 1: NFL next week, though, Chad, let me scroll and just
- 38:53Speaker 1: try to find the Titans for you.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Titans-Ravens. It will be the steepest hill to climb. Don't
- 39:01Speaker 1: tell me.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Let me guess before you reveal it. Do you have
- 39:04Speaker 2: it in front of you?
- 39:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I do. I'm going to say Ravens minus 9.5.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Ravens minus 11 and a half.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Ooh, the double-digit line in the NFL. Not what you want.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Now, Chargers-Seahawks, both coming off a loss. Chargers at Seattle. Chargers.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Seahawks in Seattle, Seattle minus eight and a half.
- 39:35Speaker 1: It's close, man. Uh, Seattle minus six and a half. I've,
- 39:39Speaker 1: I lean Seattle there.
- 39:41Speaker 2: I was two points off with both, just opposite directions.
- 39:43Speaker 2: I was two points too small, two points too big on.
- 39:45Speaker 1: The next one. Here's a surprising one, at least maybe
- 39:49Speaker 1: to only me. Texans are returning home. They're hosting the
- 39:52Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys.
- 39:56Speaker 2: I'm going to go.
- 39:57Speaker 1: It's close. It's close.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to go Houston minus two and a half.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Yeah, Houston two and a half. See, I would have
- 40:03Speaker 1: thought it was like a pick them right now, which
- 40:05Speaker 1: I guess that's basically it. given the fact that it's
- 40:08Speaker 1: a field goal to the home team, right? At least
- 40:09Speaker 1: that's what they say. Jaguars on the road against Cincinnati.
- 40:13Speaker 1: That's a two-and-a-half point spread as well. Buccaneers at home
- 40:17Speaker 1: against Green Bay, three-and-a-half. Buccaneers getting three-and-a-half. Battle of the Bays.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Let's put Tampa Bay up on the list of most
- 40:25Speaker 2: disappointing also.
- 40:26Speaker 1: That's a good one.
- 40:27Speaker 2: They're in contention. They're 0-3 along with the Chargers.
- 40:30Speaker 1: And the Rams, by the way, they get this Philadelphia team.
- 40:33Speaker 1: After we rack up all the scoring and all the money. Tonight,
- 40:37Speaker 1: we might as well go and load up on the
- 40:39Speaker 1: Rands who are flying cross-country, minus two and a half,
- 40:43Speaker 1: right now is the line for next Sunday's game in Philadelphia.
- 40:48Speaker 2: After Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley score tonight for the Eagles.
- 40:52Speaker 2: and we're all $ 500- plus.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Richer tomorrow, then yes, that's when they'll take off. That's
- 40:59Speaker 1: when the Eagles will take flight at that point. Our
- 41:03Speaker 1: SEC power lineup. Again, check out hardrock.bet.clay. That's hardrock.bet.clay. If
