- 0:00Speaker 1: LNFM with Cubby and Christine in the morning. Producer Kristen
- 0:02Speaker 1: producing in the background. And it's a very autumn-like morning.
- 0:06Speaker 1: It's currently 55 here in Midtown, but some of the
- 0:09Speaker 1: suburbs in New Jersey in the upper 40s.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Yes. It's real, right? It was real. I stepped out
- 0:18Speaker 2: with just my denim jacket. That wasn't enough.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Yeah. I have a hoodie on for the first time
- 0:23Speaker 1: this season. I love it. I love it. I love it.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I know.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I love being cozy.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 0:27Speaker 1: We have two pumpkins on our steps at home.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Really?
- 0:31Speaker 1: We were in Pennsylvania over the weekend, and all the
- 0:33Speaker 1: pumpkins are out. So we grabbed a couple and, you know,
- 0:37Speaker 1: got the Halloween stuff. Not full-fledged Halloween, but one Halloween
- 0:42Speaker 1: skeleton is on the door outside. We have a couple, like,
- 0:46Speaker 1: little mini ghosts and stuff that are plastic we put
- 0:48Speaker 1: in the yard sometimes. Haven't done that yet, but it's here, man. Wow,
- 0:51Speaker 1: you're getting close.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Okay, technically September 15th. They're like a month in, so
- 0:57Speaker 2: six weeks away, say, from Halloween.
- 0:59Speaker 1: So I see nothing wrong with anything Halloween being out
- 1:02Speaker 1: right now.
- 1:02Speaker 2: You think it's time?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Well, if Spirit Halloween opened in July.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Well, yes.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Now it's definitely time.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Right. Because I was at Stop and Shop yesterday, and
- 1:12Speaker 2: I was looking at the mums and the pumpkins, you know,
- 1:14Speaker 2: and I was like.
- 1:15Speaker 1: That's another fall thing, mums.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, do I?
- 1:16Speaker 2: Is it time? I'm not sure. Like, it is going
- 1:19Speaker 2: up to the 80s later this week, right?
- 1:21Speaker 1: That's true. I heard Friday could be humid again and
- 1:24Speaker 1: all that. Right. This is the kind of weather that
- 1:27Speaker 1: you feel and you get inspired.
- 1:29Speaker 4: You do.
- 1:29Speaker 1: For what's to come.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:31Speaker 2: That's something to look forward to. Today's Snoopy release day
- 1:34Speaker 2: at Starbucks.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Oh, is it?
- 1:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Oh, producer Kristen just looked up. Like, yes. Yeah. Like,
- 1:40Speaker 2: if you want, remember the barista and how it sold
- 1:43Speaker 2: out in like a minute?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Is this when Kristen made her run last year for us?
- 1:48Speaker 2: She did, and she couldn't get it. So there's one
- 1:50Speaker 2: that's like, it's, I think, even cuter because it's Snoopy.
- 1:53Speaker 2: And like all the Snoopy merch is being released today
- 1:56Speaker 2: at Starbucks.
- 1:57Speaker 1: So that will go probably pretty quick.
- 1:58Speaker 2: You better be there now. Like they open at 6
- 2:02Speaker 2: and they usually get like 2.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Maybe Kristen could go down there and then call us
- 2:09Speaker 1: because she'll be a caller. Oh, yeah. Because she can't
- 2:12Speaker 1: talk on the radio due to the issues we have here.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:15Speaker 1: But maybe she could call on the phone and be
- 2:18Speaker 1: just a caller. caller because callers can be on the
- 2:20Speaker 1: radio see how kristen feels and do it up there
- 2:23Speaker 1: chris is like now.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Hell no it's cold out there we're putting her out
- 2:28Speaker 2: into the cold.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And you're mentioning christine that you have a date now
- 2:32Speaker 1: of the snowflakes that are going to be coming uh
- 2:35Speaker 1: like the decorations.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Dude it's happening um november 18th i believe is the
- 2:40Speaker 2: giant snowflake on fifth avenue It's going up. People are
- 2:44Speaker 2: starting their Christmas shopping. We can do those stats in
- 2:46Speaker 2: a little while. It's like it's all going to come
- 2:48Speaker 2: rushing in now.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I know. I want to hit the brakes, right?
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 1: All right, we're coming right back. We have two pretty
- 2:53Speaker 1: cool things. It's on the way next at Light FM.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Thank you for waking up with us. And welcome back,
- 2:57Speaker 1: Miss Corinne.
- 2:58Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I need to tell you two things.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Cubby and Christine's. Two pretty cool things. Did you know, Christine?
- 3:12Speaker 1: If you did, I didn't know. Pumpkins, squash, and gourds
- 3:17Speaker 1: are all technically the same species.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 3:20Speaker 1: That's right. Your zucchini... And jack-o'-lanterns are one and the same.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Cucurbita pepo, a species that originated in Mexico more than
- 3:30Speaker 1: 10,000 years ago. Farmers have since developed that into many
- 3:34Speaker 1: other things that we now use today. So pumpkin squash
- 3:38Speaker 1: and gourds, technically the same species.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Very nice.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I thought that was rather cool.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Thank you, Mexico, for pumpkin spice. Thank you.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:45Speaker 1: We owe it all to Mexico.
- 3:46Speaker 2: We do.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Do you have a cool thing by chance?
- 3:48Speaker 2: I do. This is awesome.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Uber.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Uber has heard us. They have dedicated now accounts for
- 3:56Speaker 2: seniors for Uber rides. You can put it into a mode, right?
- 4:00Speaker 2: A simple mode. which provides larger text, bigger buttons, fewer
- 4:05Speaker 2: ride options, and saved favorite places. Loved ones can set
- 4:09Speaker 2: up the account, manage the payments, and track trips in
- 4:12Speaker 2: real time. And the seniors can call 1-833-USE-UBER. They don't
- 4:18Speaker 2: even have to use the app.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And talk to somebody.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Yes, they can get a human. It's eligible. Some of
- 4:23Speaker 2: the health benefits, eligible medical rides can sometimes be paid
- 4:27Speaker 2: for using linked Medicare Advantage Flex Cards. I mean, this
- 4:31Speaker 2: is really, really helpful.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Very smart.
- 4:33Speaker 2: For a lot of us who are trying to help
- 4:34Speaker 2: our friends and family navigate these appointments.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Because sometimes you have to book an Uber for somebody.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Now it might be easy enough for them to do
- 4:42Speaker 1: it themselves.
- 4:43Speaker 2: They're going to feel so much better doing it themselves.
- 4:45Speaker 2: And also when the Uber driver pulls up, they have
- 4:47Speaker 2: the option. They can text, they can ring the phone,
- 4:50Speaker 2: or they can beep the horn. Hi, we're here.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Or like, you know, yell out the window.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Come out, your ride's ready.
- 4:57Speaker 1: All right.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Two pretty cool things, Light FM.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 5:05Speaker 1: You know what sound I really like? The sound of
- 5:08Speaker 1: the dishwasher running in the other room while I'm on
- 5:10Speaker 1: the couch pretending I contributed to the cleanup. Or when
- 5:14Speaker 1: I hear the washer and dryer running.
- 5:16Speaker 2: That sounds familiar.
- 5:17Speaker 1: And I'm sitting. Uh-huh. You feel like something's getting done.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:20Speaker 1: But you're not doing anything. Although you filled up the
- 5:22Speaker 1: washer and dryer. Yeah. So I have the question here.
- 5:25Speaker 1: What's an everyday sound? that you really like. Oh. Here
- 5:28Speaker 1: at Light FM, can you text us at 44363? Because
- 5:31Speaker 1: I'm thinking about like the sounds of dry leaves.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they're coming, the crunchy leaves.
- 5:37Speaker 1: We had a few leaves in our yard, not like fall,
- 5:40Speaker 1: like orange leaves quite yet, but you know, just probably
- 5:43Speaker 1: dead ones.
- 5:43Speaker 2: They're starting.
- 5:44Speaker 1: But the crunch.
- 5:45Speaker 2: The crunch.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Love that sound.
- 5:47Speaker 2: You know what sound I love and realize this morning,
- 5:51Speaker 2: it's gone, is waking up to the sound of birds
- 5:54Speaker 2: chirping in the morning.
- 5:56Speaker 1: That's a great point.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Like, even at 3 a.m., Cubby, they would be up
- 6:00Speaker 2: with me. I would hear the birds.
- 6:02Speaker 1: And you hear them, like, even in Midtown. Like, if
- 6:04Speaker 1: we're walking from our parking garage to the radio station.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Like, at 5 a.m., you're... And this morning, no birds. Like,
- 6:12Speaker 2: they already skipped town.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Do you think they've already flown south?
- 6:15Speaker 2: Have they gone south for the winter, or are they
- 6:17Speaker 2: just sleeping in because, you know?
- 6:19Speaker 1: Or is it because, yeah, the time change, I'm thinking.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:22Speaker 1: In the summertime, when we're.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Walking in here at 5 a.m., it's still kind of orange. Yes, right.
- 6:27Speaker 1: But now the sun doesn't rise until like 7.15. Rain
- 6:32Speaker 1: on windows or roofs, I mean, nothing beats that.
- 6:34Speaker 2: When you're safely inside.
- 6:36Speaker 1: When you're safely inside. Yeah. But normally when it rains
- 6:38Speaker 1: real hard, where are you?
- 6:40Speaker 2: In a flood on Route 46.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I don't know how that happens.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Oh, it does.
- 6:44Speaker 1: You're always stuck in like flooding weather. Yeah. How about
- 6:49Speaker 1: a dog snoring and making random dream noises?
- 6:52Speaker 2: That's so cute.
- 6:53Speaker 1: How about that for a nice sound?
- 6:53Speaker 2: That's cute. Kitties do it too.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Uh-huh. A coffee shop when it's busy but not slammed. Right.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Like a lot of hustle and bustle, but you've got
- 7:02Speaker 1: a nice seat and you hear the clanking.
- 7:04Speaker 2: So there's like a little hum, yes, and you hear
- 7:06Speaker 2: the coffee being served, yes.
- 7:07Speaker 1: That's really cool. But you're far away from the machine.
- 7:10Speaker 1: It's not too loud.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Even on the Calm app, you can set it as
- 7:14Speaker 2: a background to calm down. Like you're in a coffee shop.
- 7:17Speaker 2: They have coffee shop on there because people like it
- 7:19Speaker 2: that much. Interesting.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Give us a text. What sound do you really never
- 7:24Speaker 1: get tired of? You love hearing 44363. Hopefully the sound
- 7:28Speaker 1: of Light FM is on your list.
- 7:29Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Next on Light FM.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Gloria Estefan and Get On Your Feet. I love that one.
- 7:37Speaker 1: 106.7 Light FM. Cubby, Christine, producer Christine and you, thank
- 7:41Speaker 1: you for having us on this Tuesday, September 15th, Christine.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Seven days away from autumn. Autumn begins Tuesday, September 22nd
- 7:49Speaker 1: at 8.05 p.m.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:51Speaker 1: It feels like fall this morning.
- 7:53Speaker 2: It does, yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 1: It's 58 here in Midtown, but some suburbs in Jersey
- 7:56Speaker 1: reporting upper 40s. Sunshine today, high 72. Let's just fast
- 8:01Speaker 1: forward to Christmas.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Why not?
- 8:03Speaker 1: Do it.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Cubby, every year I say I'm not going to wait
- 8:06Speaker 2: until the last minute. I go into panic mode to
- 8:09Speaker 2: my Christmas shopping, right? I'm not going to do it.
- 8:11Speaker 2: This year I'm starting early. I haven't started early enough.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Again, you failed.
- 8:16Speaker 2: New survey finds. I know, fail before I even started. 34%
- 8:21Speaker 2: of consumers have already started their holiday shopping.
- 8:25Speaker 1: And when you see that headline, does that make you
- 8:27Speaker 1: feel more behind?
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yes, of course it does.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Every year I feel the, I'm sure we all do, 25%
- 8:33Speaker 2: have started their holiday shopping early to spread the cost
- 8:37Speaker 2: across several paychecks. A strategy especially popular with parents. I
- 8:42Speaker 2: know producer Kristen sharing with us and your family maybe
- 8:48Speaker 2: have gotten started. Certain items could be very hot this year.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Correct. Yes. Yep. We've gotten the ball going on that.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 1: And then, you know what? I have to hit the
- 8:59Speaker 1: kids up and we have to get a Santa list together.
- 9:00Speaker 1: You know?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Oh.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Because Santa's got to do some work, too.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Put Santa to work. My niece, Sam, I'm going to
- 9:07Speaker 2: out her on the air right now, who is a
- 9:10Speaker 2: full-on grown-up, sent me her Christmas list this morning. Like,
- 9:14Speaker 2: I woke up to an email and there it is. Really? Well,
- 9:18Speaker 2: that makes it easy, right?
- 9:19Speaker 1: Because it's like.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Elfster or something like that. It does make it really easy.
- 9:23Speaker 2: That just means she input what she wants for Christmas,
- 9:26Speaker 2: and it goes out to friends and family. But she's
- 9:28Speaker 2: on top of it.
- 9:29Speaker 1: While we're at it, what do you want for Christmas
- 9:31Speaker 1: slash your birthday, Christine?
- 9:33Speaker 2: Oh, my goodness. No idea.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Of course, December 26th. For those who don't listen regularly,
- 9:39Speaker 1: you are a Christmas baby.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Producer Kristen, December 29th. We just don't want a twofer, please. Like,
- 9:46Speaker 2: you know, this is your Christmas and birthday if you're
- 9:49Speaker 2: going to give us anything. But I think world peace.
- 9:53Speaker 2: That's all I ask. For everyone to be happy and healthy.
- 9:56Speaker 2: If you could just make that happen, Cubby.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Today's Green Peace Day. Did you know that?
- 10:02Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Not world peace, but green peace. A reminder that we
- 10:05Speaker 1: need to take care of the planet that we all
- 10:07Speaker 1: live on.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I like that, too. I'll take that as a wish.
- 10:10Speaker 1: It's National Voter Registration Day. Yes, it is. A good
- 10:13Speaker 1: day to register to vote or check to make sure
- 10:16Speaker 1: you're registered. It's National Linguini Day. A good day for
- 10:19Speaker 1: some pasta. Did you know it's World Afro Day?
- 10:22Speaker 2: I did not know that.
- 10:22Speaker 1: A day to celebrate the beauty of Afro and natural hairstyles.
- 10:27Speaker 1: It's National Double Cheeseburger Day. You know, why just have
- 10:30Speaker 1: one patty? It's National Cheese Toast Day, a.k.a. Grilled Cheese.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 10:38Speaker 1: And it's National IT Professionals Day, a day to thank
- 10:42Speaker 1: all those people who ask, have you tried restarting? Like
- 10:46Speaker 1: good old Raj Patel.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I was going to say, you can't rush in here.
- 10:49Speaker 2: It's just... Move over. Just get out of the way.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Just hand over the computer.
- 10:54Speaker 1: You have to give an extra Christmas gift to Raj.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Because what does Raj do for you that I think
- 11:01Speaker 1: about doing it, but I don't?
- 11:02Speaker 2: I don't know. cubby while we're on the air talking
- 11:06Speaker 2: about these things i what i.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Don't be scared no idea rush he goes around he
- 11:11Speaker 1: has some kind of like he's connection where you don't
- 11:13Speaker 1: have to change.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Nobody's listening but he's not going to be able to
- 11:19Speaker 4: help us in a month because our passwords here at
- 11:22Speaker 4: iheart radio require 15 characters starting i believe next month.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Okay Listen, I can't get into any of my apps.
- 11:31Speaker 2: I can't get into anything.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Authenticator. Yeah.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I know.
- 11:36Speaker 2: No. Just let me in. Just look at my face.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I hold up the phone. I'm like, it's me. It's me.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Sometimes I have to take my glasses off. Still me.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Just let me in.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Let me in.
- 11:47Speaker 2: But I always have to change my password.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Oh, I hate it.
- 11:49Speaker 2: And then, yes, it's got to be.
- 11:51Speaker 1: You've used that password before.
- 11:53Speaker 2: So you couldn't have accepted it. That would have been
- 11:55Speaker 2: too easy. We need numbers. We need special symbols.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Thank you, IT people, though.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Yeah, we love you.
- 12:02Speaker 1: We love you. And Raj Patel here at iHeartRadio, thank
- 12:05Speaker 1: you for taking care of us.
- 12:06Speaker 2: He's incredible.
- 12:07Speaker 1: All right, you got the news coming up, Christine.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I do. So let's check out the headlines and the
- 12:11Speaker 2: best time to get gas.
- 12:14Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
- 12:16Speaker 3: expect next on Light FM.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Christine has everything you need to know. Good morning, Christine.
- 12:21Speaker 2: And good morning, Covey. So the Supreme Court keeping new
- 12:24Speaker 2: federal restrictions on mail-in voting blocked as Delaware voters head
- 12:29Speaker 2: to the polls today for the primary of the 2026 election.
- 12:32Speaker 2: And Covey, as you mentioned earlier, it is voter registration day.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Just an awareness. Get yourself registered or make sure that
- 12:38Speaker 2: you're up to date. President Trump rejecting calls for new
- 12:41Speaker 2: safety guardrails on artificial intelligence, saying the industry only needs
- 12:45Speaker 2: strong presidential leadership. Also calling on concerns about AI and
- 12:50Speaker 2: data centers, saying that that's a conspiracy that is only
- 12:55Speaker 2: benefiting China, that if people are raising concerns about that.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Fashion designer to the stars Bob Mackie has passed away
- 13:02Speaker 2: at the age of 87. In New Jersey, residents are
- 13:06Speaker 2: about to get some property tax relief checks or checking
- 13:09Speaker 2: account deposits. The first of the state's anchor program payments
- 13:14Speaker 2: are going out today. There is a plan that is
- 13:18Speaker 2: being looked at in New York City to make the
- 13:21Speaker 2: financial district a car-free zone.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Wow, that'd be big. I know.
- 13:26Speaker 2: City leaders are considering the plan because, Cubby, as you know,
- 13:29Speaker 2: there's some small winding kind of streets through there.
- 13:32Speaker 1: In fact, the street I used to live on, Broad Street,
- 13:35Speaker 1: is now completely cobblestone and gated off. Oh, wow. So
- 13:39Speaker 1: they're probably going to do more of that.
- 13:40Speaker 2: More of that.
- 13:41Speaker 1: But I don't know where all the other traffic is
- 13:43Speaker 1: going to go. Exactly.
- 13:45Speaker 2: New Carnegie Deli opens today. They're back, right? We didn't
- 13:48Speaker 2: have them for about 10 years. So at their new
- 13:50Speaker 2: location on 7th Avenue. In sports, the Mets lost to
- 13:54Speaker 2: the Orioles. Yankees beat the Twins. 8-3, that clinches a
- 13:57Speaker 2: playoff spot. Football Chiefs beat the Broncos 31-10. Yes, Taylor
- 14:02Speaker 2: Swift was there in a booth with Tom Cruise.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Oh, rumors are starting now. Yeah, exactly.
- 14:08Speaker 2: And I know gas prices are crazy at the moment.
- 14:11Speaker 2: So the best time to fuel up, according to the experts,
- 14:15Speaker 2: would be Monday morning. So we'll keep it in mind
- 14:18Speaker 2: for next week. Prices are often lower at the start
- 14:21Speaker 2: of the week. Pay with cash. Many gas stations charge
- 14:24Speaker 2: about $ 0. 10 more per gallon if you use a credit card.
- 14:26Speaker 4: All right.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Cheaper to get gas at Taco Bell.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Ba-dum-bum.
- 14:31Speaker 1: 106.7, Atlanta FM, waking you up, and we're DJs.
- 14:37Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Your chance to win a lot of things here at
- 14:44Speaker 1: Light FM, including 500 bucks. We'll do that around 810
- 14:47Speaker 1: this morning. But if you woke up in a bad mood,
- 14:50Speaker 1: Christine is going to tell us how you can turn
- 14:52Speaker 1: that mood around.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Oh, you turn that frown upside down. No, I'm not
- 14:56Speaker 2: going to be sickly sweet, I promise.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Because that'll make it worse.
- 14:59Speaker 1: And i'm hoping we put people in a good mood
- 15:01Speaker 1: with our music and our just you know random conversations
- 15:05Speaker 1: but sometimes you just wake up grumpy.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah you do and mental health experts say it's okay
- 15:10Speaker 2: it happens and they are not trying to like flip
- 15:12Speaker 2: it and make it completely positive but they say they're
- 15:15Speaker 2: just trying to like give you a moment that might
- 15:19Speaker 2: shift things.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:20Speaker 2: So there's little things you can do that might help
- 15:24Speaker 2: your bad mood. You wake up on the wrong side
- 15:26Speaker 2: of the bed. You literally make the bed. A quick
- 15:28Speaker 2: accomplishment first thing can create momentum for the rest of
- 15:32Speaker 2: the day.
- 15:32Speaker 1: That's very true. I mean, you don't want to do it,
- 15:35Speaker 1: but you like, well, I always make my bed. Well,
- 15:37Speaker 1: if I'm there, I'm usually, but sometimes you just don't
- 15:40Speaker 1: want to, but if you can just do it, boom,
- 15:44Speaker 1: it'll go a long way.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Yes. You cook a familiar meal. Repetitive tasks like chopping
- 15:49Speaker 2: and stirring can feel calming. A lot of people do
- 15:51Speaker 2: feel calm preparing food. It also feels like an accomplishment.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Like you said, eat consistently because you want to keep
- 15:59Speaker 2: your blood sugar steady so you don't get hangry.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Oh, I can do that. You know, I love eating consistently.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Me too.
- 16:06Speaker 1: And sitting. Sitting and eating consistently. I love it.
- 16:10Speaker 2: We got to get up and move, Cubby. Just every
- 16:12Speaker 2: now and then, we got to. Have a warm drink, coffee, tea,
- 16:15Speaker 2: hot chocolate that can create a sense of comfort. It
- 16:17Speaker 2: actually helps your body relax. Like it's great for the
- 16:20Speaker 2: nervous system.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Hotty toddy.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And sit and eat.
- 16:25Speaker 2: And sit and eat and don't move. Sitting and eating.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Rewatch a favorite show or movie. Anything familiar, predictable soothes
- 16:34Speaker 2: you because your brain already knows what's coming.
- 16:36Speaker 1: You know, it's funny. I had an hour to myself
- 16:38Speaker 1: yesterday alone at the house and I was on my
- 16:41Speaker 1: laptop doing some Bill paying and had different strokes on.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I knew we were going to end up with different strokes.
- 16:47Speaker 2: I knew we were going there.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I felt joy.
- 16:49Speaker 2: That's your show.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Yep.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Play uplifting music.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Yes.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Even just one upbeat song can shift your emotional state.
- 16:56Speaker 1: E-consistently.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Smell something pleasant like vanilla or rosemary can give your
- 17:03Speaker 2: brain something positive to focus on. And finally, and this
- 17:06Speaker 2: is a little harsh for me, but okay. splash your
- 17:09Speaker 2: face with cold water it activates the body's calming rest
- 17:12Speaker 2: and digest response you.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Know one thing you um like you didn't mention that
- 17:17Speaker 1: i thought would be on the list because everything you
- 17:19Speaker 1: mentioned has to do within the house like it's all
- 17:23Speaker 1: in the house true sometimes if you're in a grumpy
- 17:25Speaker 1: mood and um i've done this before yeah you take
- 17:29Speaker 1: a different way to work i drive a different way
- 17:30Speaker 1: to work oh okay just a subtle different way not
- 17:34Speaker 1: a drastic difference yeah but Your mind is looking at
- 17:38Speaker 1: different things, thinking of different things.
- 17:40Speaker 2: That's why we love going to different cities and new places.
- 17:43Speaker 2: The discovery is wonderful. I thought you were going to say,
- 17:46Speaker 2: you know, go out and take a walk because usually
- 17:48Speaker 2: the experts will say that, like get into nature for
- 17:51Speaker 2: a few minutes. But again, you don't believe in moving.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I eat consistently and sit consistently. If possible. Light FM.
- 17:59Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 18:04Speaker 1: 106.7 Light FM. Cubby and Christine in the morning. A
- 18:07Speaker 1: fall feeling today. It's not officially fall yet. That doesn't
- 18:10Speaker 1: begin until next Tuesday. But right now it's 58 degrees
- 18:14Speaker 1: here in Midtown. Parts of Jersey. It's upper 40s, around 50s. So, yeah.
- 18:18Speaker 2: We've got sweatshirts on.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Got hoodies on. It's great. So why are people going
- 18:24Speaker 1: to try to get to Webster Hall? Like back in
- 18:26Speaker 1: the day, Christine, we used to broadcast live at Webster Hall. Yeah.
- 18:30Speaker 1: It's still thriving.
- 18:31Speaker 2: It is, but not for that kind of party, Cubby.
- 18:34Speaker 2: This is a little different. Selena Gomez's husband, Benny Blanco,
- 18:39Speaker 2: I'm sure he wants to be Benny Blanco, not just
- 18:41Speaker 2: Selena Gomez's husband, you know, music producer. He's written a book.
- 18:45Speaker 2: It's a four-letter word, F-Failure. The book, he says, is
- 18:50Speaker 2: about embracing your failure. He said after a while, he's like,
- 18:53Speaker 2: I want you to read this and start to feel
- 18:55Speaker 2: good when you fail and realize that it's freedom and
- 18:58Speaker 2: you don't need to look back. So it sounds like
- 19:00Speaker 2: a really good mental health book and perspective. Selena's supporting
- 19:06Speaker 2: him in his endeavors because he's going around promoting the book.
- 19:09Speaker 2: He's doing a lot of interviews and he's doing book signings.
- 19:12Speaker 2: And he is doing one this Thursday, Webster Hall. And
- 19:16Speaker 2: Selena's going to be there.
- 19:17Speaker 1: That is very local and very cool. All right. Webster Hall.
- 19:21Speaker 1: And right now, if you call us, we're going to
- 19:24Speaker 1: send you somewhere.
- 19:25Speaker 4: 1-800-222-1067.
- 19:25Speaker 1: It's a trivia battle. And what are they playing for today?
- 19:29Speaker 2: More fun happenings around New York. Tickets to New York

- 20:05Speaker 1: And a round of applause for you doing that whole copy,
- 20:07Speaker 1: because I was going to split it with you, but
- 20:08Speaker 1: you did it all yourself.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I never even looked up.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Wow.
- 20:11Speaker 2: You know I didn't have it for me.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Just powering through. 1-800-222-1067.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 20:21Speaker 1: You pretty good at trivia?
- 20:23Speaker 3: Light FM's Trivia Battle.
- 20:25Speaker 1: All right, Christine, on Taco Tuesday, here we go. A
- 20:29Speaker 1: trivia battle. And it's kind of like Battle of the Boroughs.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Cause we got Bronx versus Staten Island and Audrey is
- 20:36Speaker 1: from the Bronx. Audrey, good morning. What are you doing
- 20:38Speaker 1: up so early?
- 20:39Speaker 3: I am on my way to work.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I work in dermatology on fifth Avenue in the city.
- 20:44Speaker 1: So I'm heading there.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Okay. I'll see you in a few minutes.
- 20:47Speaker 1: And I have a bump I want to talk to
- 20:49Speaker 1: you about. Audrey, good luck. And who's her competition, Christine?
- 20:54Speaker 2: Ray in Staten Island. Good morning, Ray.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Good morning. How are you doing?
- 20:58Speaker 2: I'm doing okay. What's your plan for the day?
- 21:01Speaker 1: Maybe do a little fishing today.
- 21:03Speaker 2: A little fishing?
- 21:05Speaker 1: Nice. And what season are we? What are you going
- 21:07Speaker 1: to catch today? Flounder? Trout? Flounder and striped bass should
- 21:13Speaker 1: be coming in. So let's see what happens. All right.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Good luck.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Well, listen, Audrey, you're going to get three questions. So
- 21:19Speaker 1: will you, Ray. And the best out of three wins
- 21:22Speaker 1: our trivia battle. Audrey and Team Cubby, you're up first. Hey, Audrey,
- 21:26Speaker 1: which one of these guys is one of the performers
- 21:29Speaker 1: on the new Monday Night Football theme? Is it A,
- 21:32Speaker 1: 50 Cent, B, Eminem, or C, Ludacris? B. Eminem. Show
- 21:38Speaker 1: me Eminem. No, it's Ludacris. And we have no score.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Okay. All right, Ray, here we go. Practical magic to
- 21:46Speaker 2: rule the box office this weekend. It stars Sandra Bullock,
- 21:49Speaker 2: Joey King, and who? A, Reese Witherspoon. B, Meg Ryan,
- 21:54Speaker 2: or C, Nicole Kidman?
- 21:57Speaker 3: Uh, Nicole Kidman?
- 22:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Didn't sound very confident, but you got it.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Ray with a 1-0 lead. Audrey, which character did Andrew
- 22:08Speaker 1: Lincoln play on The Walking Dead? Is it A, Negan, B,
- 22:13Speaker 1: Rick Grimes, or C, Daryl Dixon?
- 22:17Speaker 2: First one.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Negan.
- 22:18Speaker 1: First one, Negan. And is that correct? No, I'm sorry, Audrey. B,
- 22:25Speaker 1: Rick Grimes. So Ray can win it with this question.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Yeah, Ray, we could take it right here.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Oh, gosh.
- 22:30Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Audrey. Okay, but we'll see what happens. Ray,
- 22:34Speaker 2: Grand Theft Auto 6 will be out on November 19th.
- 22:37Speaker 2: How long has it been since Grand Theft Auto 5
- 22:41Speaker 2: came out? A, five years, B, nine years, or C,
- 22:45Speaker 2: 13 years? I say 13 years. I say you're correct.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Wow.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Ray, that wraps it up.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Ray wins.
- 22:56Speaker 2: That was quick.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Audrey, maybe tomorrow, okay, dear? I'll try again tomorrow.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Thanks, guys.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Thank you so much, Audrey. Thank you. And, Ray, congrats.
- 23:05Speaker 2: You are going to New York City's iconic Grand Tasting
- 23:11Speaker 2: Wine and Food Festival, Saturday, October 17th, or Sunday, October 18th.
- 23:16Speaker 3: That's fantastic.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Appreciate you guys.
- 23:19Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 23:24Speaker 1: You can win $ 500 in about 60 seconds. 106.7 Light
- 23:28Speaker 1: FM with Cubby and Christine in the morning. Producer Kristen
- 23:30Speaker 1: producing in the background. And before we get to our
- 23:33Speaker 1: little contest here, let's talk Emmys. Yes. I had it
- 23:36Speaker 1: on briefly last night going back and forth between that
- 23:39Speaker 1: and the Monday Night Football game.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Taylor and Taylor. She was on both.
- 23:42Speaker 1: That's right. That's right. But recap, if you can, like
- 23:45Speaker 1: what you're hearing about the Emmys.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I mean, the biggest takeaway is that Widows Bay capped
- 23:49Speaker 2: off the night with the biggest award for comedy series.
- 23:53Speaker 2: And it also led with eight wins. And, you know,
- 23:55Speaker 2: I've been asking you to watch this show. It's really good.
- 23:58Speaker 1: We watched one episode and we've been thinking about revisiting. OK,
- 24:01Speaker 1: we'll do it for you.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Definitely do that because you will thank me. It's so good.
- 24:06Speaker 2: It's followed by Bad Bunny Super Bowl 60 halftime show
- 24:09Speaker 2: that took home seven awards. Gene Smart, Matthew Rhys, made
- 24:13Speaker 2: Emmys history last night. Smart became the first performer to
- 24:17Speaker 2: win an Emmy for every season being on the same show,
- 24:20Speaker 2: which is Hacks. And Matthew Rhys not only winning for
- 24:23Speaker 2: Widow's Bay in comedy, he won in drama, and he
- 24:26Speaker 2: won for limited series.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Okay.
- 24:27Speaker 2: So, incredible. So they cleaned up. And another great show
- 24:33Speaker 2: that won is The Traitors. They won for outstanding reality TV.
- 24:38Speaker 2: competition program.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Well, what do you know? Behold the traitors' new blood,
- 24:45Speaker 1: where for the first time, Emmy-winning host Alan Cumming opens
- 24:49Speaker 1: his infamous castle doors to 22 everyday Americans. From among them,
- 24:55Speaker 1: he will choose who will play as traitors and who
- 25:00Speaker 1: must survive as faithful.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Now, to celebrate the treachery and deceit, caller 10... will
- 25:06Speaker 2: win $ 500. 800-222-1067. The Traitor's New Blood debuts with a
- 25:13Speaker 2: special two-hour extended premiere Thursday at 8, only on NBC
- 25:18Speaker 2: New York. A word of caution, don't be late.
- 25:21Speaker 1: All right, so caller 10, that simple. 500 bucks. Good
- 25:26Speaker 1: luck from Light FM.
