- 0:56I know depending on when you're watching this
- 0:57or listening to this, it's been cold.
- 0:59I think mother nature has been playing some
- 1:01games.
- 1:02So anyway, if you're thirsty or you're hungry,
- 1:04feel free to go grab something and, yeah,
- 1:12get something to eat, something to drink, whatever
- 1:15you'd like, and come on back to the
- 1:16show.
- 1:17Whether that is something healthy or not, feel
- 1:20free to do that and, again, come on
- 1:22right back to the show.
- 1:23All right, guys?
- 1:25So the other thing I want to say
- 1:26to you guys is this, is that if
- 1:28you have not checked out BelieveMeAchieved.com, you
- 1:31can do that by, yep, checking out more
- 1:34of my mission.
- 1:34That's BelieveMeAchieved.com.
- 1:37So again, very grateful if you guys check
- 1:39that out.
- 1:41You can do that 24 hours a day,
- 1:42actually after the show is over.
- 1:47All right, so the thing is, we've been
- 1:51talking about a very important topic this week.
- 1:53We always talk about important topics.
- 1:54You know that, right, guys?
- 1:56So by the way, today is Monday, February
- 1:599, 2026, all finished with Flow Follies.
- 2:04It's been a very long, let's say, the
- 2:06last two weeks, really the last week, and
- 2:08then the show was Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- 2:11So just kind of getting back on track
- 2:13with things.
- 2:14So we're talking about something very interesting, and
- 2:18that concept that we've been talking about for
- 2:20basically the entire week, we kicked off on
- 2:23Saturday, if you guys remember what that topic
- 2:24is.
- 2:25I'm sure you guys remember what the topic
- 2:26is.
- 2:26What was the topic?
- 2:27You remember?
- 2:28Sure.
- 2:29The topic this week we kicked off is
- 2:31from fear to forward, choosing light, clarity, and
- 2:35momentum.
- 2:36Yes, guys.
- 2:38So without any further ado, I'm going to
- 2:40go ahead and officially kick this show off.
- 2:44All right, everyone.
- 2:45This is Inspirations to Your Life.
- 2:47It's series five, means we're on the air
- 2:49our fifth year.
- 2:50We've been on the air four solid years,
- 2:52and we're on our ninth day in the
- 2:54fifth year.
- 2:55Episode, yes, I cannot believe we are on
- 3:00our seventh show in episode three.
- 3:03From fear to forward courage, in small decisions,
- 3:06the thing that we're going to be talking
- 3:09about today is a really important thing.
- 3:12We talk about clarity, clarity, light, and momentum.
- 3:18This episode focuses on how small intentional acts
- 3:21of courage create momentum in your life and
- 3:23other people's lives.
- 3:24So I think that's a very, very important
- 3:27thing to understand is how that all works.
- 3:31So this episode is focused on the internal
- 3:33intentional acts of courage, creating momentum, and not
- 3:37just dramatically, but also the fearless moves that
- 3:41we all make, but quiet decisions made before
- 3:44confidence shows up.
- 3:45By the way, this is day three.
- 3:47This is Monday, and it's all about courage
- 3:49and small decisions.
- 3:50Hey, that's what this is about today, the
- 3:52granular topic.
- 3:53And number one, guys, is a really good
- 3:55one.
- 3:55You know what that is?
- 3:56That is why small acts of courage compounds
- 4:01faster than rare big bravery.
- 4:06That's a very important thing to understand.
- 4:14I think when we talk about that moment,
- 4:17okay, we think about small courage, how it
- 4:20can compound faster and how it can bring
- 4:22bravery, but sometimes people don't get it because
- 4:25what's happening is they are jumping all around,
- 4:29like they're not focusing, right?
- 4:30They're not in the moment.
- 4:32That's probably the most important thing that I
- 4:34can tell each and every one of you.
- 4:37Number two, guys, number two is the power
- 4:40of a 10-second brave decision.
- 4:4210 seconds of courage can change an entire
- 4:45day.
- 4:45Now, 10 seconds might be all you need
- 4:49to fire somebody or to give somebody a
- 4:51compliment, but that 10 seconds is going to
- 4:54bring in bravery in your life and a
- 4:56lot of other people's lives.
- 4:57But 10 seconds is not a long time,
- 5:01but it's important to use the 10-second
- 5:03rule to do what it is that you
- 5:06want.
- 5:07And you have to be intentional with everything
- 5:09you do, guys, because if you're not intentional,
- 5:10you know what happens?
- 5:11Well, you just keep going back in this
- 5:14great big circle, a circle that goes around
- 5:16and around and around and around and around.
- 5:19And that's a very big problem for a
- 5:21lot of people.
- 5:22I've got to tell you this.
- 5:23A lot of people have a problem with
- 5:25things going around and around.
- 5:26Number three, how micro courage builds momentum.
- 5:30Tiny brave actions create forward motion, all right?
- 5:34That's important.
- 5:37And forward motion is something that we need
- 5:39in our life.
- 5:40And what we have to realize is the
- 5:44forward of something, the forward of a book,
- 5:48the forward of a movie, the forward of
- 5:51any type of story, right?
- 5:53The forward of a Broadway play.
- 5:55The forward is kind of the synopsis, but
- 6:00it's also an introduction that gets us into
- 6:03the main meat of the play, of the
- 6:05show, of the music.
- 6:06Even our songs have forwards, right?
- 6:09We sometimes call them refrains.
- 6:12So number four, why waiting for confidence keeps
- 6:15you stuck?
- 6:17Confidence follows action, not the other way around.
- 6:20Confidence follows action day in and day out.
- 6:24And that's important to understand.
- 6:26And so when we think about that, okay,
- 6:30acting before fear now finishes its sentence, move
- 6:35before fear completes the story.
- 6:38Fear, guys, is nothing more than false evidence
- 6:40appearing real.
- 6:41I'm going to tell you that right up
- 6:42front, not to scare you, but to let
- 6:44you know that that is the truth, guys.
- 6:47Fear is false evidence appearing real.
- 6:50And I think that's a very important thing.
- 6:54And I do want to encourage you guys,
- 6:55if you are watching us live, you can
- 6:59actually chat with us by going to our
- 7:03show that's live.
- 7:04And we have the ability to take chat
- 7:07from many different places.
- 7:08So that's basically Instagram, that's Facebook, that's LinkedIn,
- 7:15it's even YouTube.
- 7:16And if you do that, we will see
- 7:18your comments and we'll respond, all right?
- 7:20Number five, number five is acting before fear
- 7:24finishes its sentences, before, before.
- 7:27So move before fear completes the story.
- 7:30That is number five, guys.
- 7:32I think sometimes we don't go anywhere.
- 7:34You know why?
- 7:35Because we're afraid of what the story is
- 7:38going to bring us.
- 7:40Yeah, we're afraid.
- 7:41And we don't know what to say or
- 7:42even what to do.
- 7:44I mean, I think that's a very important
- 7:46thing.
- 7:47So act before fear finishes its sentence.
- 7:49Move before fear completes the story.
- 7:52Number six, guys, courage without drama.
- 7:55Real courage is calm and it's very, very
- 7:58quiet.
- 8:00You know, I've said before, and we had
- 8:03this topic last week about the loudness.
- 8:05So loudness does not get the worm.
- 8:09I'm going to be honest, it does not
- 8:10get the worm.
- 8:12And so I say that to you because
- 8:14you might get people's attention for a short
- 8:16period of time, but you know what happens?
- 8:17You don't retain their attention.
- 8:19Nope.
- 8:20Because they start realizing that you're all full
- 8:22of it and that nobody really wants to
- 8:24follow you, except maybe you see you yell
- 8:26something like, fire, don't ever do that.
- 8:27And then people look at you and they,
- 8:29you know what, you keep doing that.
- 8:30People still respond because they know the word
- 8:32fire.
- 8:33They don't know if this is actually true.
- 8:34It's kind of like, you know, the little
- 8:36story about the boy who cried wolf.
- 8:38But you know what?
- 8:39If somebody keeps calling fire, I'm still going
- 8:41to go, even if I'm annoyed and they
- 8:42kept playing games.
- 8:43I'm still going to think it's a fire
- 8:45because I never know the time I don't
- 8:47respond could be the time that my life
- 8:49gets in danger, all right?
- 8:51Number seven, guys, choosing progress over perfection.
- 8:55Progress beats perfect every single time in your
- 8:59life.
- 9:00Progress beats perfect every single time.
- 9:04I would rather make a certain percentage of
- 9:06progress than be perfect tomorrow.
- 9:09Because when I make progress, I can keep
- 9:11growing from progress and I can become, what's
- 9:14that ladies and gentlemen?
- 9:15A better version of myself and help you
- 9:16become a better version of yourself.
- 9:19Number eight, guys, why bravery?
- 9:21Yes, why bravery?
- 9:23I think this is an important one.
- 9:24So why is bravery?
- 9:26Yeah, that's what I was about to tell
- 9:27you.
- 9:27So why bravery is a very important one.
- 9:31And so when we think about bravery, I
- 9:32want to just think about that for just
- 9:34a second because this is something that a
- 9:36lot of people miss.
- 9:37So I don't want to just rush into
- 9:38this.
- 9:39But I say to you, you know, when
- 9:42we understand these things and we understand what
- 9:44bravery means and we understand what it doesn't
- 9:46mean, it allows us to take certain types
- 9:49of jumps in our life.
- 9:52And I think that's a very important thing
- 9:55for a lot of people to recognize and
- 9:58to realize, right?
- 10:00Bravery, it's a skill.
- 10:03But it also takes some mental and emotional
- 10:06fortitude to be able to act with bravery.
- 10:12And that's a very, very important thing, guys.
- 10:17Very important thing.
- 10:19Because when we know about something, we act,
- 10:22then we can move forward, right?
- 10:25That's a very, very important thing to think
- 10:29about.
- 10:30So courage without drama, guys, is real courage.
- 10:35It's calm and it's quiet.
- 10:37And choosing progress over perfection, like I said,
- 10:39progress beats perfection every time.
- 10:40But again, why bravery is so often quiet
- 10:42is most brave moments, they happen internally in
- 10:46our mind, in our body.
- 10:47And we're just like, oh, that doesn't really
- 10:50matter.
- 10:50But it really does matter.
- 10:52It matters more than you actually think it
- 10:56does.
- 10:56And I think that's a very important thing
- 10:59for us to discuss today is the internal
- 11:01bravery that happens in those quiet moments.
- 11:03Not the big gigantic things that happen, but
- 11:06the small little things, which actually compound into
- 11:10big things later on.
- 11:11Number nine, how daily courage compounds.
- 11:15Daily courage stacks into identity.
- 11:19Number 10, the myth that courage feels good.
- 11:22Courage often feels uncomfortable at first.
- 11:25Number 11, doing the things while your hands
- 11:27shake.
- 11:28You don't wait for it to be calm.
- 11:30You move with the shake.
- 11:32Some people have had the shaking, guess what?
- 11:33The shake goes away.
- 11:36The shake goes away.
- 11:38I think that's a very important thing to
- 11:41understand is that when you start realizing that
- 11:44this is a short-term thing, the shake
- 11:47does not stay with you.
- 11:48People are like, oh my gosh, I don't
- 11:49want to move because I'm shaking.
- 11:51You can actually develop better, let's say balancing
- 11:57skills, like keeping yourself steady, I'll call it.
- 12:01Number 12, guys, why courage grows through action.
- 12:06Action trains courage.
- 12:09So when we take action, we keep doing
- 12:11this back and forth and back and forth,
- 12:13you know what happens?
- 12:14We become pretty amazed at what's going on
- 12:17in our life.
- 12:19And that amazement, guys, is something that a
- 12:21lot of people don't quite understand.
- 12:27So when I say these things to you,
- 12:30I say them because they fit a certain,
- 12:36let's say a certain property.
- 12:39And that property is that when we go
- 12:42and take the action, whether it's a 10
- 12:43second action or something else, we actually build
- 12:47our courage muscle.
- 12:48So our courage is nothing more than a
- 12:51muscle.
- 12:51And that muscle gets stronger every time that
- 12:55we execute courage.
- 12:58I think that's a very important thing to
- 13:02understand and to realize.
- 13:04That's a very important thing.
- 13:05Number 13, small risks, big self-trust.
- 13:11Each risk strengthens self-trust again and again
- 13:15and again.
- 13:17And that's something that a lot of people
- 13:19don't really understand, but it does.
- 13:22It's a cyclic thing in a positive way.
- 13:25If we do it negatively, then it's gonna
- 13:26affect us negatively.
- 13:27Number 14, how courage rewires fear and repeated
- 13:32courage retrains fear.
- 13:34So the reason sometimes people don't do something
- 13:38is because of the way fear has rewired
- 13:41their brain.
- 13:42And it's rewired their brain in such a
- 13:44way to say, you know what, I can't
- 13:47do this.
- 13:48But what I try to train people is,
- 13:49look, even though you're kind of fearing something,
- 13:52I say, you know what, you're not fearing
- 13:56it.
- 13:56You're just excited.
- 13:58And it's excitement.
- 13:59And I try to get them confused on
- 14:01that.
- 14:01And they're like, oh, you're right, I'm just
- 14:02excited.
- 14:03And then I kind of let that feeling
- 14:05push in.
- 14:06They're like, oh, wow, yeah, I'm just excited.
- 14:08And it gets them like, oh, I'm just
- 14:09excited.
- 14:09Yeah, it's just a new way of feeling
- 14:11excitement.
- 14:12And then guess what happens?
- 14:14The excitement starts to fade.
- 14:16So one thing to have excitement feel, fade.
- 14:18But if you have nervousness, it's hard to
- 14:20get nervousness to fade, but you can get
- 14:21excitement to fade easier than you can get
- 14:23nervousness to fade.
- 14:24I think that's an important thing.
- 14:25Maybe it's a new relationship.
- 14:26Maybe it's a new boss or whatever it
- 14:30is.
- 14:30Number 15, why confidence follows action.
- 14:35Movement creates belief every single time, hands down.
- 14:40Courage in conversations, speaking honestly, is everyday bravery,
- 14:44number 16.
- 14:46And bravery, guys, believe it or not, is
- 14:48a very key point to things that happen
- 14:51in your life and my life and those
- 14:53you care so much about.
- 14:55Number 17, speaking up without over-explaining.
- 15:01Clarity doesn't need justification.
- 15:03It doesn't need re-justification.
- 15:05It needs to be said correctly the first
- 15:07time so it hits home, all right?
- 15:11That's a very important thing.
- 15:14When you say courage the right way, you
- 15:16know what happens?
- 15:18You get empowered, you build courage.
- 15:21And each time you do it, it compounds
- 15:24just like money in the bank.
- 15:25It compounds.
- 15:26And I think that's a very important thing
- 15:30to understand.
- 15:34And these are things that a lot of
- 15:36people just don't seem to get.
- 15:41I think what happens is a lot of
- 15:43people just don't understand why something is going
- 15:47a certain way.
- 15:48And then they don't really think about changing.
- 15:50Remember I said that when you can measure
- 15:51something, you can change it.
- 15:53If you can't measure it, you can definitely
- 15:55not affect to change it positively or negatively.
- 15:58Number 18, choosing honesty over comfort.
- 16:01Truth builds long-term safety.
- 16:03It does.
- 16:03Truth builds safety.
- 16:04It's that's hands down.
- 16:06When we know the truth, we're safe.
- 16:09I'll give you an example.
- 16:10I'm a good driver.
- 16:11People want to drive with me, pick them
- 16:13up, take them home.
- 16:15When they know I'm a good driver and
- 16:17that's truth and that's something they've seen time
- 16:19and time out in my record, they feel
- 16:21comfortable driving with me.
- 16:23Number 19, understand courage, guys, as a skill.
- 16:29And the courage improves with practice every single
- 16:33time, not just one time, but every single
- 16:35time.
- 16:36So courage as a skill improves with practice,
- 16:39but you can't just do one and say,
- 16:41oh my gosh, it's not working.
- 16:42What am I going to do?
- 16:44Number 20, guys, number 20, why bravery doesn't
- 16:49need witness.
- 16:50Bravery counts even when no one sees it,
- 16:53no one else is watching.
- 16:54And I've said to you guys, one of
- 16:55the most important things is to do the
- 16:57right thing even when no one else is
- 17:00watching.
- 17:01When no one else is watching because you
- 17:04know what it does, it shapes your character
- 17:06and in shaping your character, it builds who
- 17:10you are, which part of building you are,
- 17:12guess what that is?
- 17:12That is courage, guys.
- 17:15That is courage.
- 17:16And so understanding that, even because no one
- 17:20saw it, it doesn't mean that it wasn't
- 17:22good.
- 17:23It doesn't mean that it was the wrong
- 17:26thing.
- 17:26Each time that you practice courage, you become
- 17:31a little wiser.
- 17:33You develop something that allows you to move
- 17:37forward.
- 17:38Maybe we're stuck.
- 17:40Courage allows you to push forward.
- 17:42Sometimes we just need a little tiny ounce
- 17:44of courage.
- 17:44We don't need a lot.
- 17:45We need a little bit.
- 17:46And if we have that little bit, we
- 17:47can move forward very easily.
- 17:48Number 21, guys, 21.
- 17:51How courage shortens recovery time.
- 17:54Brave people bounce back faster.
- 17:58That's another one of those weird ones, right?
- 18:00Because you wouldn't think that brave people bounce
- 18:03back faster, but I'm here to tell you
- 18:05that brave people bounce back faster.
- 18:10It's because if they falter, they can get
- 18:15back up.
- 18:15It goes through the very popular phrase.
- 18:21It doesn't matter how many times you fall
- 18:26down, you get down in a situation.
- 18:28What matters is how many times you get
- 18:30up.
- 18:30So if I fell 10 times, I got
- 18:32to get up 10 times.
- 18:33If I fell 10, I only get up
- 18:35nine.
- 18:36That's a problem.
- 18:37So it matters how many times you get
- 18:40up.
- 18:41It's got to equal how many times you
- 18:43fell.
- 18:44All right, that's a very, very important one.
- 18:48Number 22, taking steps without full clarity.
- 18:53Movement creates clarity.
- 18:55And if we don't have that, movement kind
- 18:58of stops.
- 18:59It gets stifled.
- 19:00We've seen this before.
- 19:01Maybe it either stops or it goes backward.
- 19:06It goes in a negative direction, right?
- 19:10So people say to me, John, if we're
- 19:12not moving, that's fine.
- 19:14Right, as long as you're not drifting backwards.
- 19:17A lot of times you can drift backwards
- 19:18and that could be a big problem.
- 19:20And each time you drift backwards, it's a
- 19:22big issue.
- 19:23We talked about something very interesting, which was
- 19:26a potentiometer of the focus rate.
- 19:30That if we keep turning, keep turning, keep
- 19:33turning, keep turning, keep turning, right?
- 19:35And as long as we stay, we use
- 19:37the analogy of power to our attitude.
- 19:40If the power stays on, I'm good.
- 19:44So if my attitude stayed good, that's equal
- 19:45to our power being on, right?
- 19:47So if the power stays on, I keep
- 19:50doing a little bit, little bit, little bit
- 19:51each day, eventually I reach my goal.
- 19:54But if I keep doing a little bit,
- 19:55little bit each day, but then I lose
- 19:56my attitude, well, the setting got lost.
- 20:00And we call that volatile, non-volatile.
- 20:03So volatile means that if the power is
- 20:05lost, you lose, basically you're setting your memory,
- 20:08your information.
- 20:09Non-volatile means that that information is not
- 20:11lost, such as things like hard disks, SSD,
- 20:15M.2. I know this is the technical
- 20:16show, but I did wanna just bring that
- 20:18in, okay?
- 20:20Number 23, why courage is choosing movement.
- 20:25Stillness feeds fear and movement feeds growth.
- 20:29And I think that's another important one to
- 20:31think about, all right, a very important one
- 20:33to think about.
- 20:34And it's not like you're gonna come up
- 20:36with this answer, guys, tomorrow.
- 20:37I'm gonna be quite honest with you.
- 20:38It's gonna be something that you're gonna see
- 20:40over time.
- 20:42And as you see this over time, you're
- 20:43like, oh, wait a minute, I actually had
- 20:46an epiphany.
- 20:47I had a moment and that moment says
- 20:50to me, all right, John, I suddenly get
- 20:52it now.
- 20:52I know what I'm doing, okay?
- 20:57That's important to know.
- 21:01Number 24, daily courage rituals.
- 21:07Small daily brave acts change behavior.
- 21:12I remember, let me tell you one of
- 21:13mine.
- 21:13I remember, oh, my parents owned a dry
- 21:16clean plant and I had gotten the license.
- 21:18They called it Black Seal.
- 21:20My dad got one, I got one.
- 21:24And somebody that who had the Black Seal,
- 21:25my dad or myself had to be on
- 21:28premise or pretty close to premise, like every
- 21:30time the business was open.
- 21:31So if the boiler was operating, one of
- 21:33us needed to be there like all the
- 21:35time.
- 21:38And very interesting thing.
- 21:40Is that when we think about that, there
- 21:43was something called a blow down procedure for
- 21:45the boiler.
- 21:46Now, without getting too technical.
- 21:48Every night, we basically shut the, you know,
- 21:53we would shut the boiler down.
- 21:54Okay, there was a switch, we'd shut the
- 21:56boiler down.
- 21:57And once we shut the boiler down, there
- 22:01was some other things we had to do.
- 22:02First thing we had to do is we
- 22:03had to take BC compound, put it into
- 22:06one, in one of the tanks.
- 22:08The other thing we had to do, I
- 22:09still remember to this day, we had to
- 22:11go in the back of the boiler in
- 22:12the corner and there was like a water
- 22:13thing.
- 22:14We had to turn that knock like a
- 22:15little cock.
- 22:16We had to turn that thing.
- 22:17And when we turned that thing, first thing
- 22:19we do is we came over to the
- 22:20site glass in the far left of the
- 22:22boiler.
- 22:23And what we do is we would take
- 22:24the, I would make sure the boiler was,
- 22:27if I remember right, had to be right
- 22:28around 10 to 15, nothing higher than 10
- 22:31or 15.
- 22:32You want to blow the boiler down.
- 22:33Okay, you want a little bit of pressure
- 22:34in it, but you didn't want it too
- 22:35high.
- 22:36So we would take the handle very gently
- 22:38and pull it down very slowly and let
- 22:40the water just go right out.
- 22:42Okay, get all out, turn it back up.
- 22:44Do it again.
- 22:44Maybe do it one, two, maybe do it
- 22:45three times.
- 22:46Then I come in the back of the
- 22:47boiler and there's a line that's closed.
- 22:51And what I would do is I would
- 22:51open that line.
- 22:53Okay.
- 22:53And what it would do is it would
- 22:55actually shoot in the cold water.
- 22:59So basically we had one thing we turned
- 23:01on.
- 23:01All right.
- 23:02And then once we turned the main water
- 23:03on, that would get the water in the
- 23:04system.
- 23:05And then when we opened that valve, the
- 23:07cold water would be coming in.
- 23:08So again, that's what we didn't want to
- 23:09be any more higher in the pressure than
- 23:13like 15.
- 23:14I think 20 was the max.
- 23:15We did around 15.
- 23:17And so that had to be done every
- 23:19single day.
- 23:20But I got to tell you, the very
- 23:21first time that we did this, it was
- 23:24very fearful because I'm like, oh my gosh,
- 23:27it's going to blow up.
- 23:28After I got the class, it was still
- 23:30fearful.
- 23:30But after I did it enough times, I
- 23:33started realizing that it's going to be okay.
- 23:36I remember when I had some friends there
- 23:38and even some family were like, oh, can
- 23:40I show you something?
- 23:40Could you watch this?
- 23:41And I was just having them, like I
- 23:43was kind of showing them how I do
- 23:44this.
- 23:46First of all, I was showing them, like
- 23:48it was kind of neat what I'm doing.
- 23:49But really the reason I was showing them
- 23:50is that I was kind of scared.
- 23:51So I was just trying to get somebody
- 23:53else that would kind of like, you know,
- 23:54watch.
- 23:55And so that's kind of what I was
- 23:56doing.
- 23:56And so, but that act of courage got
- 24:00me to understand that blowing down the boiler
- 24:01every night is a very important thing because
- 24:04that keeps the boiler from basically corroding out.
- 24:08And if it gets corroded out, the boiler
- 24:10won't run.
- 24:11Number 25, how courage reshapes identity.
- 24:16You become what you think about and you
- 24:18become what you do repetitively every single day.
- 24:21Your actions become who you are.
- 24:24Those actions take you from one place to
- 24:27a completely other place.
- 24:29And that's an important thing to realize.
- 24:35Number 26, the bravery of consistency showing up
- 24:38daily is courageous.
- 24:40Maybe it's for your schools.
- 24:41Maybe it's for a relationship.
- 24:42Maybe it's facing somebody in your class who's
- 24:45being a bully.
- 24:46Being consistent, being brave all the time stands
- 24:50up for something.
- 24:51And other people start to realize, well, you
- 24:52know, he's not just doing this once.
- 24:53This is who he is.
- 24:54So we can't like mess around with him,
- 24:56right?
- 24:56Because this is the new John or this
- 24:59is the new whatever.
- 25:00And they were not going to put up
- 25:02with that.
- 25:02And I think that's important to know that
- 25:04they didn't want to be thrown under the
- 25:06bus because now you're going to stand up
- 25:08for yourself.
- 25:09When you're younger, a lot of times you're
- 25:10like, oh, you know, I don't really care.
- 25:12And then you're letting people indirectly walk on
- 25:16you.
- 25:16And that is a very, very big, big
- 25:18problem.
- 25:19So the bravery of consistency showing up daily
- 25:21is courageous.
- 25:22And it is not just something we have
- 25:26to do.
- 25:27It's something we should do because if we
- 25:28don't do it, we're going to get walked
- 25:30on.
- 25:31And we're people and we want to be
- 25:32treated with respect.
- 25:33Number 27, why courage builds self-respect?
- 25:36Each brave act earns self-respect.
- 25:39Blowing down the boiler every day, earn self
- 25:41-respect.
- 25:42Coming in to open the store.
- 25:43I remember when I was only in like,
- 25:45I think it was fifth or sixth grade,
- 25:46I was opening the store.
- 25:49And I remember the courage coming in the
- 25:52morning and I was coming in with cash.
- 25:55And I remember that.
- 25:57And I also remember another time being in
- 25:58the store and sometimes there could be some,
- 26:02let's say some slight disagreements between the pressers.
- 26:07Well, there was an issue where one, there
- 26:11was a couple of pressers that were on
- 26:13salary and there were a couple of the
- 26:14pressers that were what we call, they got
- 26:16paid by the piece.
- 26:16So without getting too complicated, the piece was
- 26:21the hanger.
- 26:21So let's say if they did a dress,
- 26:24so then they would put two together and
- 26:25that would count as two, okay?
- 26:29But one time, this one presser grabbed some
- 26:32hangers, but he grabbed them in the wrong
- 26:33side.
- 26:34It was an honest mistake.
- 26:37The one gentleman junior, I call him a
- 26:38gentleman, he switched to knife blade, almost went
- 26:41to this other gentleman, Sam's throat.
- 26:42I was like, oh my gosh.
- 26:45So miscommunication can cause very disastrous things, not
- 26:52just like I didn't understand and I have
- 26:54to redo something.
- 26:56It can cause some people, they're that crazy
- 27:00to react to harming or hurting somebody, taking
- 27:04their life.
- 27:05So that's not the norm, but communication is
- 27:08very viable, right?
- 27:09So that's a very important thing.
- 27:10Number 28, guys, moving forward despite uncertainty.
- 27:15Courage doesn't wait for certainty.
- 27:16So if you're gonna wait for it, you
- 27:20might as well just keep waiting your whole
- 27:21life because it's never gonna show up.
- 27:22There's never the perfect time to do it.
- 27:26The time to do it is now, right?
- 27:28That's important.
- 27:30Number 29, courage and restraint.
- 27:32Sometimes courage is not reacting like, oh my
- 27:34gosh, what do I do?
- 27:36Do it anyway.
- 27:38Number 30, choosing action over avoidance.
- 27:42Action dissolves avoidance.
- 27:44And you know, guys, courage is not about
- 27:47fearlessness.
- 27:48It's about choosing movement anyway.
- 27:51Sure, you might be afraid of something.
- 27:53Do it anyway.
- 27:55Small decisions done bravely create big momentum.
- 27:58I remember being fearful of getting blood drawn.
- 28:01I remember during the COVID time, you know,
- 28:04getting the shot.
- 28:04I just didn't like shots.
- 28:05I was kind of fearful of that, but
- 28:06I did it anyway.
- 28:07And even the blood drawing did that.
- 28:10And it actually wasn't so bad.
- 28:14In fact, the only thing that happened with
- 28:15the COVID thing, which was kind of interesting,
- 28:17is that I was just saying to myself,
- 28:19you know, it's gonna hurt.
- 28:19Whatever it's gonna be, it's gonna hurt.
- 28:20And I got the shot.
- 28:21I was like, it actually, it hurt.
- 28:24But I lived.
- 28:25And I was like, they shoved it way
- 28:27too hard.
- 28:28I complained.
- 28:29The next time I went for the second
- 28:30round, they did it properly.
- 28:32Well, they had a truck driver give me
- 28:34the shot.
- 28:34And that was probably a very big problem.
- 28:37So as I said, small decisions done bravely
- 28:40create big momentum.
- 28:41And momentum is how fear loses its control.
- 28:45So what are you waiting for, guys?
- 28:46Start creating momentum and fear will get left
- 28:50in the dust.
