- 0:11[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Low Red Zone Dross Show with me, Simon Cransey, and as always my special guest, Carl Crab from A to Z Sports, how are you mate?
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing great, how are you doing, Simon?
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm good.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm well, I'm excited.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: The combine is next week, just around the corner, feels like Dross season's really.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: really picking up.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: So it's all good.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's all good.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: We are, as I say, a week away from the start, the NFL's getting combined.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: I will get into a bit of that this week.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: We'll discuss another entry in team with an early picking round one that needs significant help after some big news this week.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll give you our prospects of the week, which we mentioned last week that we're going to start to do.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: We'll kick off with Daniel Jeremiah and his second mock draft of the week which dropped on Tuesday, and I don't know about you Carl, I always place a little bit more stocking what DJ Selling at this time of the year because of obviously his previous job, based connections with the game, well within the game and the decision makers that he's talking directly to, and I think he's often insightful when he puts a player in a certain positioning round one, or in his top 50 that maybe feels a little off the radar from what kind of the general consensus is
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think DJs kind of become the standard of figuring out where the media is in front of players and where the league is in front of players versus each other and you know always a good indicator that if the leagues leaning on a player there's probably a reason why and it's it's become like a tail is all this time that DJ puts out a
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: A big board update or a mock draft with a player that was a little off the radar that everybody who's a draft Nick goes and runs and watches that week and then they fill in the blanks and magically they're all caught up.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he is he is one of my most preferred avenues of figuring out where do my eyes need to be because I'm not up to speed on player X or Y that he kind of is maybe early on.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 100% I think it's a great way of putting it and I think there's one player in this year's draft that he's kind of feeling that way around and we'll get to that player in a minute.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get into DJ's mock then he has David Bailey at two and I'm not sure if I can remember a more polarizing.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: non-court about prospect being talked about.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: So high, just in terms of, you know, it kind of feels like there's very much a split on Bayley in terms of, you know, obviously the elite get off, but, you know, the full package, I think it was better against the run in 2025, but that there are lots of people kind of questioning about whether or not he's a top five or even a top 10 pick and that I just wonder what your take was on, on that given that DJ has him a two.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it's it's uh, it's hard to ignore a guy that gets put up in that stratosphere by somebody that we're just talking about.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, maybe that speaks a little bit to the class because I I think you could think about a lot of the edge guys and and it's Ruben Bay and it's the length question.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's, you know, Cassie Sal has a length question and I really tried to like get super excited about Cassie Sal.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: But the run game defense there is a question that exists too, you know, David Bailey is a leaner guy and you know, the resume of run defense across the full body work hasn't been great.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: what their skill sets bring to the table, but their significant questions with all of them.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: So if you told me the guy that has the most prolific past-rush profile is the guy that's gonna end up getting the tiebreaker as we go through this process and that ends up being David Bailey.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: I would understand why that is the case relative to the value that a past premier past-rusher can have.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think productive, efficient, impactful are three words that definitely come to mind with him.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's thin in the lower half that that makes me worry a little bit and I wonder whether not, you know, can he pay all three down straight away?
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's not, you know, that's not a necessary knock on him, that's suppose.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: The return on investment when you're spending that third on that second overall pick on Bailey and thinking actually he's only going to be a sub package guy to start with.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: I suppose would have teams potentially worried whereas you think Ruben Bayon at least you might get the initial past rest juice, but you're going to get him to play pretty much all three down from there from the get that right because of the work that he does against the run.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I think there's more alignment versatility there too, and you know, there's more avenues, right?
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's from the outside looking in a lot of these are risk assessments more than they are anything else.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I try to approach a risk assessment on a player profile of how full proof is this player from coaches or executives messing it up.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: And the more places that you can line up and the more snap opportunities you get.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: that while not evaluating for an individual team is a mighty fine incubator from the idea that I'm going to drop the ball here and mess this up.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's where Bailey has a little bit more of that than Bain does in my opinion.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but interesting numbers on Bain as well.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I know we're talking about Bailey, but 14.4% on 1,000 and 60 past rushes the last three seasons are good to peer PFF.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: When you look at 0 to 4 I techniques, 15.4% as a win rush rate.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: But 5 to 9, it's 24.1, which is pretty big.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_02]: So that debate will continue, obviously, as we get closer to Dr After.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: You mentioned Arvelle Reaster, falling to 7, and DJs, Malcolm and Camardas, and Dan Quinn.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go away with a guy with that kind of Micah Parsons type of athletic profile obviously sort of play without portfolio a little bit Is you know who I'm back because you make sure you need to try show is you type with both But we would be interesting seeing falling to seven into Dan Quinn.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's the right kind of coach to I think Have a vision for him when you consider some of the micah Parsons
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: opportunities that could exist when you consider what Michael was at Penn State with the off-ball kind of hybrid element that existed there.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's a dream come true fit for our Vell Reese.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: The media has kind of had Reese pencil in as a top three player since what October.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that's an interesting kind of shift to start and see does
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: I have that one soft circle to see if that's a single data point or if that starts to become a trend not just with DJ stuff but with others that are connected within the league.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I wonder what you think about.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_02]: Because I felt like Matt just did a really good job of mixing up how are utilizing, rushing, dropping to spots, mirroring those kind of aesthetic mobile QBs.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's clearly a very good player and lots that he can do, it is really good, the movement stuff, the athletic stuff, you're looking him out on screens, all of those things.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: I just wonder whether in a way he might end up becoming a victim of the fact that he's really good at
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: lots of things, but maybe the things that he's really good at aren't quite as highly valued in the modern game as some other things like you look at.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: So he had 12 rashes, only 12 rashes and where he attempted to win as a pure past russia with an outside move and for context Jalen woke had 36 in 2024 and I just wonder whether or not he might get knocked because what he
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: outstanding.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's not, you know, he's not going to turn it, turn it in a 15 sex season.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think certainly not to start with.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: Is that fair?
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's fair.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think the contrast of those two players individually is fascinating where Walker kind of got thing for some side stuff to go with some length stuff to go with the past rush profile as a whole and he still goes top 20 and I think it's the kind of player you have to have a plan for right and that that goes to the risk assessment thing that I just talked about is our velvety if you're going to draft our velvety and just say hey we're going to drop in and be an outside Russia on third downs and
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Call of day like you're probably going to be in for bad time like that and and I think you make a great call out for what Patricia did to kind of amplify his versatility and part of that work to because of the other versatile pieces that they had in the core of that defense where
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: nobody in college football had a better trio of back seven players up the middle of their defense than Ohio State did.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: So that makes it easy to kind of put those guys all over the place and let them shine.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: So what do you have to accommodate a player like that?
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like those are all tough questions.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: And if Reese paid the price for that, it would not surprise me.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Now I do think he's one of the five best players in the class, but I acknowledge like,
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: Depending on your scheme, it might say something about your scheme and your flexibility is a coach if you're not willing to accommodate it.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: But like there are certain things you're going to put on the board and you're going to ask the question where does Reese fit in this and you would have more projection than you would probably like to have for the answer.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know if you saw that Ben Finell video on social media this week, but it was an Ohio couple of Ohio State defensive clips, and he just tweeted, just watch eight reefs, zero styles and two downs, and they were literally, but moving.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: it was wild to watch it in isolation to see the three of them.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: So instinctive, almost one, two steps ahead of everybody else and just moving in complete unison like this kind of trio of it was some, yeah, I mean they are three really good players and I mean we touched on it there and we down Queen would be a great fit for him.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: The one player I think that DJ seems to be really
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: He's been hired in for a while.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think that feels instructive as to how certain teams in the league feel about the Toledo kid that, you know, I think he had about 18 in his big board and now he's got him a 13 in his mock to the Rams a team that DJ is well connected to.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: was he was he the one who was super high and even worry throughout the process last last year and like so maybe sometimes it's not and I remember like he he took the dive on even more late and he's like oh never mind I'm pulling back down and in hindsight he tried to say it probably she just stood at his left him up but that's an R. Bell Rees conversation as well with having a plan I think a player who's the size and
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: uh... make me a warrant can do a lot of things on the back end but where do you optimize the versatility in the length in the explosiveness
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: and the ball skills, right?
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: Do you, how much are you willing to put on a guy's plate year one in the league coming out of Toledo?
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: You know, those are, you know, he might be Quinja Mitchell, who hits the ground running as a player from the same program in the secondary, but maybe he's not.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's where, you know, even even worry this year, kind of the way that they gradually ramped up.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: the intensity of the things in which they asked them to do, there would be certain coaches.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like would would take a player like this and not get the most out of them.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: So I do think it's instructive that the traits and the physical abilities on the
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: how much do I have to work with with this player?
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a DJ's got him in the right spot, top 20.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's totally accurate.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: Are there 20 teams in the top 20 that I would trust to get it right with him?
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: So that plus the positional value element is going to like after the even worry saga last year and then he ends up sliding to the early second round and low behold is just incredible player that everybody knew he was but you don't take safety's above pick X.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I'm watching this one because I think this class, the dynamics are a little different and it could set itself up well for him to write off human worries.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, coattails a little bit in cash in for a good draft stock.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just looked there, DJ had it at 19 in his final big board and was kind of really advocating him.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: He looked at me, he had worn a free safety, strong safety, single-high, two-shel off-man, you watch his tape against bowling, green and covering Howard Fanning, the foot speed, the athletic, the athletic ability, the range, the versatility that we just talked about on the back end.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's also six, three, two, oh, nine, eleven, four, swannels in his career.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: a kind of Bob Sanders type of enforcer like will come down just punch you in the face real punishing tackle with kind of proper stopping power.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: But then you don't expect to have the range and the i-discipline and the ability to place single highs, you know, it's it's not a surprise that DJs high on
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: on this kid is it.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: Sunny stars he's got falling to 15 which would be a tragedy of Shakespeare and proportions that don't happen.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: I mean again watching him back this morning actually for something I'm doing for a written piece and just like the kid just moves differently.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean 21 years of age he's just a
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: 15 and to replace them, to come in and be at that second level for the box with an aging, I've completely forgotten his name.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: On his way to the Hall of Fame, that would be a hell of a pick up for the back of his.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the tide balls would have to be your matchups.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: The first year, you really felt the Levante David age wall hit, and it showed this year.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: Now, for some, what I love about sunny is there's a few opportunities where you get to see like the open field acceleration, and some guys accelerate with like footfire and how fast their feet are firing.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: he just accelerates by just opening the strides and with the the amount of acceleration that he gets by just lengthening the stride length and really opening up his gate.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's a few opportunities where you watch him kind of in shallow spy situations or shallow zones in the quarterback breaks contain and he gets outside and you you see him trigger in those instances and the way that the the acceleration is
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: effortless with how he just it's there when he wants it to be there and he when he decides to open up.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Really really special second level athlete and that safety background obviously that he has shows up in a big way and he does it while carrying six foot five to 140 pounds, right?
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like I mean, the fact that it's the lightweight element with the fluidity and with the acceleration
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: If he falls to 15, I'm going to write every franchise of strongly worded letter past them to beg them to reconsider their positional value norms because you could tell me this cat is in top 10 player in the class.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, can you add my name to the, yeah, do it, thank you, thanks mate.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_02]: Um, couple players who DJs got pretty highly, I think probably the highest that I've seen them in, kind of mock drafts done by, uh, people that we would kind of trust.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: And that's TJ Parker at 17, you know, the good player who's talked about in the past, um, mocked 17 to the lines, but a guy delintinum in 18, a kind of Harrison Smith's replacement to the Vikings, he has him mocked here, because he's, obviously, he's played for Dan Lening, so he's run deep half stuff,
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: the curl flat hook stuff.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: He's absolutely a famous man.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's kind of seen it all because of the defense that he's worked in.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: That would feel like, you know, that's a sort of thing that you see on draft any like, why do I see that three months ago because they just make so much sense and it feels like a perfect kind of fit.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think that's again something that DJ's beginning to hear about him or how are you seeing that playing out?
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's heard this because this has been a name that I have seen pop up.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: And a couple of different mocks that I have done with some folks that I work with that I know are plugged in enough to at least be talking to some folks around league.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: So for for Dylan to start to to kind of creep into this stratosphere like DJ was just the affirmation of it for me where I'm like, we're doing like simulated mocks and this guy just got picked in the 20s like that feels like it might be 20 spots and then DJ comes out and drops a bit.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: at 18.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the interception he had against Penn State this year, the double over time when I think is an amazing showcase of just like the coverage instincts that he has to not panic when color first arrives into his area and to understand the concept and to have a wide vision cone of the entire concept and to be in the right place and
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: to see through all that simultaneously the quarterback the way he did on that place.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I think this is a pretty clean projection.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a very easy player to like when you turn on Dylan and you watch just him moving on the back end.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: But it is interesting that, you know, we have these safety, positional value conversations and what Malachi starts when it's 30 or whatever it was last year and even where we just talked about.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_00]: Now we got two in the top 20, this year's class.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's, again, it's why I have this, this trend circled because this position in particular, it's a great class too.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: Does that help these guys go earlier?
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: Does it hurt these guys beyond the top few guys?
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: Because there's a deeper pool that's available to come back to one day too.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's why I love the draft, right?
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: This is like every year there's different filters that you put on the entire big picture conversation and you get these different iterations that start to show up.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 100%.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: One of the kind of reminds me, and this is, um,
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: not reminds me, but I think there's some similarities between him and Cole Bishop of Buffalo.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_02]: In that, the stuff, when the balls in the air, in terms of the coverage IQ, the kind of size, the eclectic combination, I just think Benjamin's just a much better tackler, and some of the English, or Christopher, sorry, say that again.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's longer, like that was, yeah, Cole was, he didn't have the arm length and it really didn't.
- 18:30[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_02]: And I like to come out of Utah, but I just think Thinam is just so much more reliable as a, as a tachlor, and yeah, I think that just makes an awful lot of sense, and I think the points that you make there are a right, especially with what he can kind of bring to a team.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_02]: Another team out of here is an Oregon team, may Kenyan Sadeek at 22, and is somebody that's kind of been
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: floating around the fringes of the top 10, top 12 at times.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: And now is it 22?
- 18:56[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know about you.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: He does seem to me to be somebody who might end up being one of those kind of odd men out the full out of round one.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I do suspect that maybe we start to hear some more off-field stuff with him over the next few weeks.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: I know that Todd McShay has begun to float some of the sort of not bad guy
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: going to say lazy and not kind of wait room kid, not a kid with a high work.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think that doesn't particularly do a lot in practice that frustrated the coach is that sort of stuff.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I just wondered, do you see him ending up as somebody who could be a candidate to fall into round two?
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think the physical give us are so high.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: That.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, we're sitting here putting two safeties in the top 20.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I can't see here and say it's
- 19:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's so gifted and if that's one of those things where you do end up feeling if stats feel like they do need to light a fire underneath of them because it's been so like the natural gifts and then you watch them block right and you see the open field blocking
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: I know he's not like a super refined route runner.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: I know the hands aren't super consistent.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: But man, you put on that highlight reel.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: You put on the best version of it and you say, how do we, how do we catcher this down and down out day and in day out, weekend and week out year over year throughout however long he's going to play?
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: I have a hard time not picking him in the top 32.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a couple of landing spots late that could make a ton of sense.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think San Francisco's one, would you get the George Kittle in the injury there?
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: If they had their chance to get their hands on him, and you think about what the 13 personnel buzz across the league is, and he could do some stuff with alignment stuff in the backfield.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: So I think there's some competitive teams that if they find themselves staring at him there in the late 20s or so I'd be very surprised if everybody ended up passing on just how good the gifts are.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's fat.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see he can weigh in, you know, he's a
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: He's not just a one-trip pony as he can weigh in in terms of, you know, he can be an asker corner on game.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he can get some vertical displacement, he can do some dirty work, you know, in line.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: So he certainly has that going for him.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_02]: And then rallying out DJ's first round.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: A couple of guys who seem to have been getting more and more traction.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_02]: and mocks into the first one.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: Lee Hunter being one of them more and more into round one and I'm absolutely here for it because I think he's great and then Zion Young feels like a kind of big senior boy winner because like Hunter he's now appearing more and more in round one mocks and he sneaks into the end of the inner DJ's first round.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: Are you good with those two?
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah I think the the stocks high for both of those guys I think Hunter with
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: what the power that he has and some of the explosives in this that he has, I think he's a little bit more explosive than what Tyler Williams was last year at Ohio State and like they've kind of got that.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: interior, dense profile.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: So projecting that for passing down value is going to be the the big thing that I think ultimately decides where Hunter ends up landing when it's all said and done.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: And for Zion, I know there were some the director, the senior board had a
- 22:34[SPEAKER_00]: I see that style of play.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's some legitimate questions about like the refined consistency of the past rush plan, but I think he's he's got some great point of attack foundational stuff to work with these in intense guy on the field.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: that may come down the flavor with those late first round past rushers.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want the twitchy guy?
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want the the guy who's going to play a higher percentage of volume on early downs and maybe you need to to be a team that plays more stunts and games and twist upfront to turn guys loose in the past protection plan?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think that's more of what Zion is.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: But if that's what you're looking for then I think he's a great option there kind of in
- 23:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I love Hunter.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: Hunter is just such a, I mean, he's having the size and what he can do, just do not marry up at all, like six, four, three, twenty, five, I mean, 49 pressures is insane for a guy on that size, but that kind of combo actor of kind of hand usage agility, quickness strength with his hands, and I love how he locates the ball.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, you see defensive linemen, just have no idea, I mean, the kid that the Schmars Jew at the kid, the Bengals drafted last year, just had no idea where the ball was at any point.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_02]: Hunter just always knows where the ball is all the time.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think, you know, some of his high-end reps are outstanding.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: He's a fun, fun player to watch.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad to see he's getting that first round rep.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_02]: Right, before we give you our prospects of the week, I want to tell you about mold core environment, or they are South Florida's trusted mold inspection experts.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_02]: If you're home or office, smells musty or you're worried about what might be hiding behind your walls,
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: mould core gives you real answers with no scare tactics and no guesswork with over 15 years of experience they're fully licensed and ensured serving everywhere from the keys right up to Tallahassee because the only thing that should be growing in South Florida is playoff hopes.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_02]: For mould testing you can trust core mould core environmental at 9547092998 that's 954
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: 709, 2, 9, 9, 8, 8.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: Right, prospect of the week time.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: I've been doing running back for the draft book this week, mate, and out in April, everybody.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: And whilst there's a few kind of mid to late round guys, I really like.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_02]: I was intrigued by the tape of South Carolina's Russell phase on.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_02]: Have you watched much of him?
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: I have not caught the full dive yet, so I'm really interested in where you're at because I will have that filter to apply when I do do the dice.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's about 52 years of age.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this guy's been in college since the early 20s.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he has taken a really secure history right to this point.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he graduated from prep school in 2019.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't play football the following two years.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: He moved across country to play Jukehari, finally got a D1 off.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: I started training for the draft.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: parvier ruling kind of came through and he got this kind of 11-hour court decision in the end of the upper South Carolina high school run.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean he had back to back 2,000 yard seasons and in 2017 he ran for 2,920 yards 42 touchdowns at 9.1 yards per attempt committed to Stony Brook but academically an eligible didn't qualify so went to a kind of a prep school where he kind of
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: He kind of ran out of luck, really.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: He ended up as a gray shirt, didn't play online courses during COVID, didn't play for a couple of years.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: But his take, he is long, he is lean, he is physical.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's going to be 27, just after the Super Bowl.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_02]: But he has only got 500 carries since 2018.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: So there's very few miles on the clock.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: And if you think that Justin Gentie had 374 carries in his final season, that boy's yellow, and that kind of gives you an idea of where we are.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: But like I said, long and lean,
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: He's got vision.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_02]: He's got patience.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: You will not find him running into the back of his lineman and he can burst through the line.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: He can play narrow and get to the second level and he's got the speed to bounce on outside zone or the power to run between tackles and I just think I love how fluid he is as a mover.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was instructive that he was called to the senior ball given that realistically he only has one year of kind of experience and given his age.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: But he
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: Whilst he doesn't have a lead speed car, I think he kind of, you just see him running away from guys, like on tape and he's got good hands out of the backfield, but you know, he's not, he's not a great, this is no Christian McAfrey kind of route tree, but this is flares and swings and Texas routes and those sorts of things, don't need to be a little bit of an improvement in past protection, but he has the size to handle blitzes and he shows some understanding of what to do
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: not really been injured, a couple of small bits, but if you're looking for a guy who's gonna play four years from 26 to 30 in terms of years of age and then you allow him to walk as a free agent.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_02]: As a late round pick, if he was 22, 23, 24, I think he's probably a, you know, I don't think I'd have a problem taking him late day to early, early day to three.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: I just came away very impressed with the tape in terms of what he was able to do and I'm intrigued to see you have a look at him and see what.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_02]: What he could do.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: So that's Russell phase on from me.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you?
- 27:51[SPEAKER_02]: Who's your prospect of the week this week?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: I have no-to-date tight-end Eli Raredon from the Shrine Bowl.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: He kind of had a break out year this past year at Notre Dame before this season.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: He had 16 receptions for 141 yards in his first three seasons with the Irish.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: He came in at the Shrine at 605-60, almost 666, 244 pounds, 10 and 5-8s in chance.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: 32 inch arms and a 79 and a quarter inch wing span.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a length profile here.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: There's a really nice blocking foundation to work with it here where I think he's he's very effective.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's not an overwhelming Darnell Washington maller at the line of skirmish to like blow guys doors off
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: but he's really sticky and I think pretty savvy with using defenders momentum against them.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I kind of got put on to him and I had seen his name through the shrine as a guy who had flashed a little bit.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously he had almost 500 receiving arms this year for the Irish on 44 targets.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_00]: So he had it was more than two and a quarter yards per route run that he had this year.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a pretty healthy number for a tight end, especially for an offense that was as run heavy
- 29:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I was watching Texas A&M and I'm finalizing my film, great on Cassius Howell.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I see this number nine for Notre Dame, who's getting on guys on the edges.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: And he's sealing and securing blocks.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously that's a question for how aggressive he is to get up the field and want to attack with his run defense.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: And it's creating these big, big sea gaps for these runs to hit and create chunk runs off of.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: And the way in which he was the center of that, I actually stopped doing Kashi's house and I'm going to come back, but like, I want to look at him and I want to see how Eli does with his other opportunities in some of the other games.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: So I go back and I watch.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: University Miami.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_00]: I watch USC.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: I watch this Stanford game and then I watch pit and I'm like bit.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: This is has the look and feel of he's not going to be like a he's not a big time route salesman He's not going to beat man coverage of time But if you're looking for that like
- 30:21[SPEAKER_00]: I floor reliable inline blocker player, who can be a zone buster underneath and get just 60 targets and probably 45 catches.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: The Dalton Shelts is of the world, like I think he's cut from that clock.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, hey, man, like, if you're not looking for a Supreme free athlete to play at the position, whether that's a Michael Trig from Baylor or a Sadik in the first round from Oregon, if you just want like the boring vanilla guy who's going to help you at bust zone coverages on third downs with underneath stuff and help you win in the run game, he stood out to me.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: I really like him as a mid-round option.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's a good player.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: A couple of ACL tears on his in his history one, playing what I can give it.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think he was going to be a basketball player in college.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: That was the kind of the entry high school.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's he claimed on playing basketball in college.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: So he kind of gives you an idea of the kind of size, the movement skills, the footwork, go sorts of things.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm just looking at his profile that I've written for the job, but I love the consistent vertical displacement from the white.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: The strength and power on the move, the ability to climb and remove at the second level, and kind of all packaged up with that kind of really good technique.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the fun story is that he was so obsessed with Notre Dame, and Notre Dame is literally in his blood.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, his grandfather was an all-American offensive tackle in Nebraska, but he was the
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: Blue Holtz in the Irish national championship team in 88 is Dad was an offensive lineman was Notre Dame's longest snapper and everything was so desperate to earn a scholarship in South Bend that every Halloween he'd literally dress up as his favorite Notre Dame player every year like four or five years that's how obsessed he was we're going to Notre Dame but no I like him I think he's a good player he's mature he's married
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah, I like, um, I like when we can bring to the table and the don't shoot shorts and the image and there is, um, it's kind of perfect and so, um, it's a good fit.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_02]: We will back next week with a couple more on our prospects of the week.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but now we're going to break and when we come back, we'll talk about big 11 and the might meet all things who've made a lot of big moves this week.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to the low reds and dry shows part two.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: On Monday, as I mentioned before, the break, the Dolphins released amongst others, Tariq Hill and Bradley Chub with likely more to come, including Court of Act to a Tonguella and Free Safety slash slot.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: Making a Fitzpatrick who are both subject to trade conversations.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's an awful lot car for new GM John Eric 11 to take on.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_02]: We are both Dolphins fans as listeners and viewers to the show may or may not know.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_02]: Miami has the eleventh overall pick in this draft.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_02]: What do you ask big old question?
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: But what do you see them doing?
- 32:53[SPEAKER_02]: Where do you see them going?
- 32:55[SPEAKER_02]: And what has been instructive to you from what we've heard of the new general manager and Jeff Haffley, the new head coach over there that I'll three weeks.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they've talked about wanting to run the ball and run the ball and opposing defenses.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: No, we want to run the ball and we want to be tough and physical and build
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's instructive, but then I also think you look at kind of the packers draft history with obviously, John Arselevin's two plus decades there and maybe not the last couple years where it was like, Jordan Love and Jordan Morgan and Matthew Gold in this year and it was what like 20 years since they drafted a wider Steven the first round because it was a huge deal that they did that.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_02]: The Cheers when in all of us when they went there,
- 33:44[SPEAKER_00]: You see so many of those early draft picks go to defense.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_00]: And you look at the edge rush room.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_00]: You look it off all linebacker with a potential BPA of sunny styles.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: You could talk about building a roster from the inside out and you can make an argument that a safety who plays on the second level and plays in the middle of the field with Caleb Downs if he's the best player available there.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: The spine of your defense, they really feel like a world is your oyster type of team, just because of how much work that they have to do, but if it's me and I'm trying to narrow down the list, I'm looking at edge defenders, I'm looking at offensive linemen, and then I'm looking at sunny styles, Caleb downs, and I know the big flavor of the month right now
- 34:32[SPEAKER_00]: but you know that they got some some guys potentially like do they bring back cater cohu do they use their exclusive rights for agent tender on Ethan Bonner they've got jujube friends they've got stormed up they've got young guys to compete
- 34:48[SPEAKER_00]: Do they bring back Rasul Douglas on a one-year deal for a couple million dollars after he played for nothing, right?
- 34:55[SPEAKER_00]: And it sounds like at least with his postings on social media.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_00]: He's receptive to come back.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I can very easily see the story at corner changing very quickly
- 35:07[SPEAKER_00]: for my aim.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: And that's for me.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think trenches on the edge, on defense, anywhere on the trenches that you can get a starter on the offensive line and then a couple of EPAs that play in the middle of defense for me.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, one of the names that I find intriguing.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_02]: Look, one of the biggest questions I think that I'm also going to find out next week when Saladin goes to the podium in Indian athletes, but one of the biggest questions to answer over the next.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: a couple of months, but certainly starting for agencies, what the identity of the offense will be.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: We already know from the coaches higher, especially with Bobby Slavic moving to coordinate a little retain those kind of heavy elements of the Shanahan scheme.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: Now whether that incorporates a more mobile quarterback that we haven't seen over the last few years, like in Malik, Willis, for example, remains to be seen, but whoever starts on the center, I think, you know, we're going to need significantly better play and you mentioned it in terms of the trenches, significantly better play from the offensive line.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_02]: And wherever you heard that before,
- 36:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Patrick Paul and Aaron Brue at the only two, I think, definite starters on the team, whilst retaining Austin Jackson, who's missed 42 games in a six-year career, would seem to me anyway, you might feel a different, but a kind of a roadblock to maybe a younger player who can actually be in the lineup called Stranger's Garney Star at a right guard this season.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Jonas have a nice starting spot, probably shouldn't necessarily be guaranteed after a pretty disappointing just to put it lightly rookie season.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I wonder about a kid like Vega Iron, you know, the Penn State left guard who could slide in straight away a kind of a plug and play day one start to me.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: And more or with that kind of impressive run blocking film, a finisher, a dominant finisher.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_02]: and who plays with power, but I think people are kind of overlooking the fact that actually you go and look into his tape, you dig into his tape, and there's a lot of kind of zone concepts stuff there, I think he's a really good puller, he's a good mover, he understands angles, and he can reach Bammart, and I think he's extremely effective in getting out to the second level where he can just put guys on the floor, and as much as I like,
- 37:08[SPEAKER_02]: You know, some of the receivers at the top of this draft, when you look in a pick 11, you talk about a Macaylemon or a Carnell-Tay or Jordan Tyson.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_02]: The history that you just mentioned going back to Javamor, could 20 odd years ago, Matthew Gordon this year, feels like that's a position that's probably not going to be, you know, especially in a deep receiver class or a deeper receiver class.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I just think, um, I think Iron is good to be somebody that the dolphin, because, you know, there was plenty of discussion last year about seven hour having moved from right dog to left guard to play.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I wonder if they just don't think, you know, what an offensive line that that looks like Patrick Paul, Vega Iron, A, A-ron Brewer, Jonas seven hour and another person at right tackle is not the worst thing in the world to start.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: And I think you're trying to grow young players in a system, in a scheme, in a culture to the point where they're ready to really compete, whether that's in 2027 or 2028, and I think you would be a good selection for them.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_00]: I, I love that you went here, uh, full disclosure.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's my top rated offensive lineman, uh, in this year's class.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: Simon, the past rush profile is so good with you watching against organ and you watching against Ohio State, right?
- 38:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like the ways in which he anchors and you're watching the entirety of the pocket and he he gets hands on guys quick because he has that that kind of
- 38:39[SPEAKER_00]: he's three yards further up on the line of scrimmage with his set with like his hands clamped on guys then everybody else in the pocket and get like tackles got a set for depth and that they got to be able to expand and you know the tackles set the width of the pocket and the interior sets the depth of the pocket.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_00]: I so I get it's not a one for one.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_00]: But the amount of times where he got his hands set on good players and is just at the line of scrimmage and has his hands clamped.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's so clean.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's such an inverse from what Savaya and I it was so many times this year for the dolphins in particular.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_00]: And we did a mock at A to Z.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_00]: It was January 26th.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_00]: It was the first mock draft that we did.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_00]: after, halfly, and John Erick Sullivan had their introductory press conference.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I own was the pick that I had.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll just read the blurb real quick.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_00]: Jeff Halfly, John Erick Sullivan, Aaron Miami's underway to do is talk the extensively about building the roster from the inside out.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: Miami could certainly go with an edge rush over here, but the ability to stack a line of skirmish addition, like all of Ayah Vega, Ayahone, can serve as a tone setting
- 39:52[SPEAKER_00]: joining Aerover and Patrick Paul to give the dolphins a nucleus to build around up front.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_00]: So I love the idea, some fans hit me up, like locked on dolphins, listeners were kind of like a little shell shock, like whoa, guard at 11, but if you want to put, I think he's best offensive line in the class, and if you want to put weight on your words with what you're talking about, what you want to be as a football team, I think this is the kind of pick that would make a ton
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I agree.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing that the thing that concerned me about Sam and I watching the tape as the season rolled on was just how much he struggled with, A with those kind of twitchy interior defenders, but just people who just crossed him up, who crossed his face and just attacked him and he wasn't never unable to move his feet.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I watched I only in multiple games and saw exactly the opposite of that, the quick foot movement, way kind of blind that the size
- 40:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just think he's a really good fit for a team and I think you're exactly right.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: You put your money where your mouth is, you come in and you talk to...
- 40:53[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you talked to the media, you have your press conference, you talked to, you know, the guys that you talked to, whether that's the kind of the beat writers, or whether that's Travis, I could friend Travis, Wingfield who works with the Dolphins and you keep coming out and you say, when a punch people in the mouth, you know, fast and quick, gets whatever it is, gets worn down, but big and strong and never, you know, the stuff that Sullivan was saying, and I just think he fits that profile absolutely perfectly, I think he'd be.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_02]: He'd be in it really interesting for the doctors.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_02]: I look at, I think when you talk about Miami at that point, and underlined by what happened this week with the release of players, this is a team that has significant holes to fill it every single position pretty much apart from running back.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I would say, glaring needs, at quarterback at receiver at high enemy.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: The only Titan on the roster is Jolene Connoises, the UDFA that they got from Texas Tech last year, at guard at edge at corner.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm at safety.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: So I would say like this, the orphan Jackson thing is, you know, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to shop him 11 million dollars in salary, young tackle, who's had some good good take, but you just can't rely on to stay healthy, like maybe somebody's willing to take that on for a year in a contract year.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: So I'd put tackle up there just as much as those other spots you went through too.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think you're right.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're right.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_02]: One name that people do talk about before we just move on just to look very quickly at the command before we get out of here is the core of acquisition.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I think it's unlikely, but but Tyson's and is there.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think the dolphins will have any interest in Simpson or do you think that he's a guy that I mean, here's a question.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think if Tyson's and fell into the second round,
- 42:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think that totally changes the conversation.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that's a bad to replace it.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and that's the whole crux of the philosophy, right?
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: Is we're going to take as many swings as it takes.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: And we understand where you don't bad a thousand in this game.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: But the swings that you take,
- 42:54[SPEAKER_00]: At least until you hit your baseline, have to be cost-effective swings.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why the Malik Willis Conversation happens because it's starting quarterback skit, 40 to 50 plus million dollars.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_00]: If Malik's in the 20s, it's considered a cost-effective relative to at-cost for starting quarterbacks.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_00]: it gets north of 30, I think that conversation changes.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_00]: And then I think that makes it a much less appealing swing.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_00]: Tyson said 11 is not in my opinion, a cost effective swing.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_00]: But if he gets there to 43, yeah, I think that dramatically changes the the opportunity cost and what the potential pay on is.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I agree.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: Quick to them before we get out of here.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: What are you looking for?
- 43:38[SPEAKER_02]: The combine is really, who do you think might be the Stan?
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you think we're talking about next week?
- 43:43[SPEAKER_02]: Is the Stan now performing the kind of the athlete, the guy that kind of runs the big, really fast time, the kind of the, I don't want to say the Mike Romolo because that's unfair, but the kind of the, you know, the stud performer of the week at the combine.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: What are you looking for?
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: Who are you looking to see?
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think the name I have circled for like the big splashy name is probably Mississippi State Widersever Brennan Thompson kind of expectation for speed speed speed speed speed speed speed speed right everybody loves those 40 times that they kind of change the whole structure of the event
- 44:14[SPEAKER_00]: to get those on at a prime time time slot and to put it on the the ideal day for those guys to be run in big time explosive play what was it a silver metal in the hunter meter in high school so sprinter background won the 200 meter gold so like that kind of track speed you see when you get the ball on his hands and give him a chance to really run
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: Um, he's not really been taught the buzz is picked up in the last two or three weeks for for Thompson.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like, but that's the one that I I feel we're going to be coming out and you're going to see the big surge in the mock drafts and where he gets projected and what's a crowded crop of day to wider severs and I think Brendan Thompson will be buzzing me.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's some of those receivers.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_02]: I love going through, they want to do in the draft, but love going through, they're kind of the track and feel times, and I'm just looking at them here, and they receive a very, you know, you look at, I mean, what was Brennan Thompson's, he was a state hundred and two hundred meter champion, as you said, a hundred meter personal best of 10, 14, which you ran as a sophomore, which is that, that would put him, I think I'm putting me in the Olympic,
- 45:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you would have finished last in an Olympic first round heat of the last Olympic in Paris if you ran a 1014, which is pretty special, but even like there's some guys here, like Barry on Brown, the LSU kid ran a 1049, who else don't just see just a minute ago, and this is boring for people listening to
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: Well, while you're looking for that, it's context for the 1014 that Brennan Thompson ran as a high school sophomore, Tyre Kille last summer ran a 1015 in California, so that's a, and that was Tyre Kille's personal best 100 meter time.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like it is cack and fly.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: Kendrick Law is one of the interesting players.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you've done law, but he ran a 1038, and that really does transfer onto the field in terms of what he's able to do.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_02]: But the one that really surprised me was Jay Michael Sturgeon, the Florida receiver, who had a lot of success early on at UCLA, 6024, 60262, 216 pounds.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: He's run a hint in 39, 100 meters, and a 20.99, 200 meters in high school, which is absolutely flying.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_02]: For a guy of his size, but yeah, I'm with you.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think Brennan Thompson running that, that for you will be very interesting.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: You break the record?
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'll say no, just because it's such a high bar.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be on that, they'll have him on the overlay with the guys, the Xavier were these of the world and the time lapse finish with those guys running their 40s.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think he'll, that's a good bet.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait to see him running it on those kind of overlays with rich as well.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_02]: You're part of the family fund, every fund.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you think it was fast as 40 times between me and you?
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: Your playing flag still, right?
- 47:08[SPEAKER_02]: Still.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_02]: Then the play.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_00]: No, because I'm not, I'm not playing anything.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm the guy who's, who's out there playing.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_00]: You're in the beginning.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_00]: And back there, sling in the rock around or not.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: I take you.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: but I'll have to test it at one point.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for listening.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for watching.
