- 0:00Speaker 1: Always enjoyable. We're cleaning out the sound fridge. It's one
- 0:03Speaker 1: more thing, one thing, so much audio.
- 0:11Speaker 2: We didn't get to a lot of good stuff today.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It's too much. Party happened?
- 0:16Speaker 1: Do you wanna Yeah, we're gonna hang on to the
- 0:19Speaker 1: Bill Maher thing for tomorrow for the show, or you
- 0:22Speaker 1: want to do it here?
- 0:22Speaker 2: You do both. Really, let's start with Bill maherin Ana
- 0:26Speaker 2: Kasparian and she was coming off as.
- 0:28Speaker 1: A woke millennial type.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Well, let's run it and then we'll comment after where
- 0:37Speaker 2: would you live? What city would you live in? You'd
- 0:39Speaker 2: be comfortable in that dress?
- 0:41Speaker 3: I'm sure it would not be comfortable in this dress
- 0:43Speaker 3: in any of the various Middle Eastern countries that have
- 0:46Speaker 3: been destabilized.
- 0:48Speaker 2: You're not really blaming it on whitey.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Listen, are you?
- 0:53Speaker 2: You're blaming Islam on whitey.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I'm not blaming Islam on whitey.
- 0:57Speaker 2: What you're saying you stable, That's why you can't wear
- 1:01Speaker 2: it did not stabilized.
- 1:03Speaker 3: We are terrorist organizations in Syria during the Syrian Civil War.
- 1:08Speaker 1: So yeah, she's trying to claim that the bigotry of
- 1:10Speaker 1: the Muslim world is to be blamed on white people.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Essentially on the Western world. It's our fault. Who is she?
- 1:18Speaker 2: Does anybody know? She is on the podcast what's the
- 1:22Speaker 2: name of the podcast, One of Your Hearts, Young Turks? Yeah,
- 1:26Speaker 2: very very popular progressive podcast. Oh my god, God, Bill,
- 1:30Speaker 2: and she is, you know, talking about Islamophobia and it's
- 1:35Speaker 2: all it's overblown and that sort of stuff. And Bill
- 1:37Speaker 2: Maher's question was, name a city in a Muslim country
- 1:40Speaker 2: where you could dress the way you're dressed right now,
- 1:42Speaker 2: She's sitting there in his chair in his basement in
- 1:44Speaker 2: a short skirt and high.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Heels, and then she says, well, we destabilize them, right,
- 1:50Speaker 1: So because.
- 1:51Speaker 4: We overthrew the shaw, that that reflexive self hatred as
- 1:58Speaker 4: a mark of inlightenment on the left is amazing.
- 2:02Speaker 2: We didn't overthrow the shaw. We installed the shaw. We
- 2:05Speaker 2: installed the shaw, and you could wear short skirts at the.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Time, right right, So free the knee, That's what I say.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Let's see here's a let's run number nine. It's a
- 2:17Speaker 1: millennial therapist.
- 2:18Speaker 5: I'm going to play the part of the boomer parent. Well,
- 2:20Speaker 5: Graham's been on life support for the last week and
- 2:22Speaker 5: it's not looking good. So we wanted to wait until
- 2:25Speaker 5: we knew for sure that it wasn't looking good til
- 2:28Speaker 5: we called, hey, we're back now. I understand protecting your
- 2:31Speaker 5: children from information that may not be developmentally appropriate when
- 2:34Speaker 5: it comes to illness with family members, but these are
- 2:37Speaker 5: adult children now. The lack of communication regarding important family
- 2:42Speaker 5: health events has not only increased their anxiety now because
- 2:45Speaker 5: they don't trust that you'll tell them, but it's resulted
- 2:47Speaker 5: in a fracture in your relationship or a breach of trust.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'm not sure what problem she's addressing. Is there some
- 2:53Speaker 1: sort of rash of people not being honest about health stuff?
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's boomers.
- 2:58Speaker 6: And I've experienced this in with my mom and dad,
- 3:01Speaker 6: and they, uh, they would hide things about their health
- 3:04Speaker 6: and then I would find out later that things were
- 3:06Speaker 6: much worse than they had said.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Heide is a prejudicial term. You know, it's your situation
- 3:11Speaker 2: and you can call it whatever you want. But a
- 3:14Speaker 2: person may just choose to not burden their kids with
- 3:18Speaker 2: their health problems.
- 3:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:20Speaker 8: I've gone through this though, and it's frustrating.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Well, I'm sure it is.
- 3:25Speaker 8: It's like you find you find out that somebody's in
- 3:28Speaker 8: the hospital. It's like, well, we didn't want you to worry.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Uh, okay, Yeah, it's it's a tough one. It's a
- 3:35Speaker 2: tough one, very very much so, because like I've had this,
- 3:38Speaker 2: Like my dad was this a couple of years ago.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Were there and my dad said, yeah, my ecologists. I said, whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 3:45Speaker 2: Oh you have an ecologist? Why do you have an oncologist?
- 3:49Speaker 2: And uh, you know, there's some information that I hadn't
- 3:51Speaker 2: he hadn't hadn't shared with maybe he didn't want to.
- 3:54Speaker 2: But then I think about my kids. I don't want
- 3:56Speaker 2: them worried about all my medical problems when they're outliving
- 3:59Speaker 2: their lives, right, I mean, I wouldn't like go ahead
- 4:02Speaker 2: and die without learning them that I'm sick or something
- 4:05Speaker 2: like that. But you know, you're out, you're having kids,
- 4:08Speaker 2: you're having fun. You don't need to be worried about me.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I'm fine. Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 1: You know it's funny because I always had a different
- 4:13Speaker 1: idea about it because I come from a very like
- 4:16Speaker 1: open Sharry family. But you know, when I had my
- 4:21Speaker 1: skin cancer surgery a couple of weeks ago, It's minor.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Skin cancer is easily cured if you catch it in time.
- 4:26Speaker 1: But I thought, I just I'd rather talk about other
- 4:29Speaker 1: things yeah, and I'm gonna be fine. I have all
- 4:33Speaker 1: the faith that I need and the doctor and the
- 4:35Speaker 1: surgeon and all that.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I just I don't want to talk about it.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah, And you know, and and a couple of people
- 4:42Speaker 1: were kind of surprised when I said, yeah, I had
- 4:44Speaker 1: this and it's done and it's healing. I'd be like, well,
- 4:47Speaker 1: if you had a but and I get it. And
- 4:49Speaker 1: it's love that makes them say that, and I appreciate it.
- 4:52Speaker 2: But but it's love that makes you not.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Tell them right right, well, and I get the whole
- 5:00Speaker 1: I've known a couple of people personally, and one celebrity
- 5:04Speaker 1: in particular who absolutely demanded of his friends that they
- 5:09Speaker 1: not say a goddamn word about his illness because he
- 5:13Speaker 1: was not going to relate to people as the sick
- 5:16Speaker 1: guy right in.
- 5:17Speaker 2: The last part of his life. That's the other he
- 5:19Speaker 2: chose that quite specifically. That's the other thing too. You
- 5:23Speaker 2: get to have another summer or Christmas or however long
- 5:26Speaker 2: you got of normal interaction with your kids, right as
- 5:29Speaker 2: opposed to it's all about the fact that I'm.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Going to die, right or are your friends? Yeah, I
- 5:35Speaker 1: just want to be buddies. It gives me joy, I
- 5:37Speaker 1: love it. I'm going to be the sick guy if
- 5:40Speaker 1: this becomes the major topic conversation. I'm not saying you
- 5:43Speaker 1: or me or anybody ought to make one choice or another,
- 5:45Speaker 1: but I understand it more than I used to.
- 5:47Speaker 2: But since both of you have been on the other
- 5:49Speaker 2: end of it, Katie and Michael, you wish they had
- 5:51Speaker 2: told you?
- 5:53Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 5:53Speaker 6: I do.
- 5:54Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean because the feeling of finding out and
- 5:58Speaker 8: having the panicked fun phone call to try to figure
- 6:01Speaker 8: out what's going on could have that all could have
- 6:03Speaker 8: just been eliminated by being told like, hey, this is
- 6:07Speaker 8: what's going on.
- 6:08Speaker 2: You know.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Well, Michael, you can speak for yourself. But I also
- 6:12Speaker 1: think there's the Hey, if I have very limited time
- 6:16Speaker 1: with you in my life, I would like to know it.
- 6:19Speaker 1: So I'm I'm gonna I'm not going to schedule that
- 6:22Speaker 1: golf trip in the last two weeks of your life
- 6:24Speaker 1: because they don't know it's the last two weeks your life.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Right. Yeah, that's a good that's a good point. You're
- 6:29Speaker 2: you're cheating me. I might come visit you if i'd
- 6:32Speaker 2: have known yours. Yeah, Yeah, tough one.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Different people deal with it in different ways anyway, and
- 6:40Speaker 1: any idea this would get that significant. But it was
- 6:43Speaker 1: a thought starter, wasn't it.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Now?
- 6:45Speaker 1: On a lighter note, here's our favorite Trump imitator these days,
- 6:48Speaker 1: Sean Froge, number eleven.
- 6:49Speaker 7: Michael, We've deported millions so far. Next will deport ill
- 6:59Speaker 7: han Omar Falla la la. Look at how those dougs
- 7:06Speaker 7: are acting. Fala la la, la, la la la. Let's
- 7:12Speaker 7: send those bead ambres packing.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Fala la la.
- 7:19Speaker 2: There you go.
- 7:20Speaker 8: You know what's funny about him is I was watching
- 7:22Speaker 8: he has a little podcast he does on on X
- 7:25Speaker 8: and he actually his speaking voice sounds like Trump.
- 7:30Speaker 2: That helps. Yeah, that does help. That is only like
- 7:34Speaker 2: one and a half degrees off something Trump would actually do. Yeh, Yeah,
- 7:39Speaker 2: that was pretty good.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Continuing the musical theme, the tongue, the boots, the blood,
- 7:44Speaker 1: the bass guitar, Gene Simmons of Kiss. Trump inaugurated them,
- 7:50Speaker 1: anointed them, gifted whatever Kennedy Center honors the other day,
- 7:55Speaker 1: and he's doing the interviews. I've long found Gene to
- 7:58Speaker 1: be a really fascinating guy.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Here he is in twelve.
- 8:02Speaker 9: I wasn't born in America. My mother and I came
- 8:05Speaker 9: here as legal immigrants. Because there is a difference, and
- 8:08Speaker 9: we waited in line for years until we finally came in.
- 8:12Speaker 9: I mean, I'm still amazed by the wonder that's America,
- 8:16Speaker 9: and I get flack for that for people saying, well,
- 8:19Speaker 9: are you doing soundbox?
- 8:20Speaker 2: No?
- 8:20Speaker 9: No, I deeply love and I'm amazed by this country
- 8:24Speaker 9: no matter all the problems. There's always you know, people
- 8:27Speaker 9: always argue about stuff. But the wonder that is America
- 8:30Speaker 9: is that I can be here, first generation legal immigrant,
- 8:35Speaker 9: and people who've been here for hundreds of years don't
- 8:37Speaker 9: say go to the back of the line. I can
- 8:39Speaker 9: have access to any position in power I can have
- 8:42Speaker 9: as long as I'm willing to work for it. That's
- 8:44Speaker 9: the American dream.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you hear that a lot more out of people
- 8:49Speaker 2: that have come here from other countries. They love this
- 8:52Speaker 2: country and think it's amazing. Compared to people that have
- 8:54Speaker 2: been here for generations and you went to some fancy college,
- 8:57Speaker 2: you hate this country and think it's all done. Wow.
- 9:00Speaker 1: The difference in perspective is amazing. Here's a little more
- 9:03Speaker 1: from Gene.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Would Kiss consider reuniting and playing one last time? I
- 9:07Speaker 2: have a turning point USA super Bowl halftime show. How
- 9:11Speaker 2: much it's negotiate that.
- 9:13Speaker 9: It's not even a conversation. And so before you have
- 9:16Speaker 9: a conversation with anything, you go into a place where
- 9:18Speaker 9: they sell cars and there's a number up there.
- 9:21Speaker 2: There's no talking. You're going to see some numbers. Do
- 9:24Speaker 2: you have a number, of course, so.
- 9:28Speaker 9: You tell us to the far more than you'll ever be
- 9:30Speaker 9: able to afford.
- 9:31Speaker 2: In your entire life.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Shot would you play at the turning Point? USA super
- 9:40Speaker 1: Bowl halftime Show?
- 9:42Speaker 2: I didn't know that was the thing.
- 9:43Speaker 1: That's like a a what's the word I'm looking for?
- 9:48Speaker 1: It's it sucks to get old, speculation piled on fantasy.
- 9:53Speaker 1: I don't even know what they're talking about.
- 9:54Speaker 2: But I liked his answer how much he's a businessman.
- 10:00Speaker 1: And then finally, I hope this juice is at least
- 10:03Speaker 1: semi worth the squeeze. Do you remember the band Garbage?
- 10:07Speaker 1: Any bands are garbage? This is a band called Garbage.
- 10:10Speaker 1: What was her big hits? I can hear it in
- 10:14Speaker 1: my head, but I.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Only happy when it rains.
- 10:17Speaker 7: Stupid girl.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go. Yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Butch Vig, who's one of the great producers in hard
- 10:23Speaker 1: rock history and is also a musician and was one
- 10:28Speaker 1: of the lead guys in the band in Shirley Manson,
- 10:31Speaker 1: the cute little redheaded Scottish lead singer. Here she is
- 10:35Speaker 1: going nuts over a beach ball at some music festival.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Let me just set this up a little bit.
- 10:40Speaker 6: So they're up on stage and people are bouncing beach
- 10:44Speaker 6: balls in the crowd and she gets upset about it.
- 10:47Speaker 6: But I think she's just upset that she doesn't.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Like her job. So here we go.
- 10:51Speaker 7: Oh God, if you're a big beach ball, I'm so
- 10:57Speaker 7: scared of you.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Oh by you? What of juchebag.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Like?
- 11:05Speaker 2: It literally makes me want to fag people to go
- 11:07Speaker 2: over there and punch you in the face.
- 11:10Speaker 3: It's disrespectful and musicians had enough.
- 11:14Speaker 5: We're fan of getting I'm a fanom of having.
- 11:17Speaker 2: To play for doucebags like you.
- 11:19Speaker 5: You're a middle aged man and a ridiculous hat.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I literally want to ask people to punch you in
- 11:27Speaker 2: the face. I'm a lady. Wow.
- 11:31Speaker 1: So she's bitter about not getting enough streaming money, which
- 11:35Speaker 1: is a semi legit issue. And I've seen that a
- 11:39Speaker 1: couple of times in concerts where the musicians go crazy
- 11:43Speaker 1: because people are batting beach balls around.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, And there's been a couple of instances where recently
- 11:50Speaker 2: of famous musicians walking off stage early because they're angry
- 11:53Speaker 2: at like a person, and then the whole rest of
- 11:56Speaker 2: the crowd gets screwed and that becomes a problem. Yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 2: I don't. That's actually earning a description of that the
- 12:05Speaker 2: other day from a musician who had done that, and
- 12:07Speaker 2: he got back to his dressing room and the crowd
- 12:10Speaker 2: was still booing, and that's when it occurred to him,
- 12:12Speaker 2: all those other people paid to come here and see me,
- 12:15Speaker 2: but I've already walked off, so I can't go back.
- 12:18Speaker 2: And damn, yeah, wow, I feel bad. First that was
- 12:26Speaker 2: actually actually actually I'll just jam this in at the individual.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Do we have more clips now?
- 12:32Speaker 5: So?
- 12:33Speaker 2: Todd Snyder, one of my favorite musicians, died a couple
- 12:35Speaker 2: of weeks ago. Drank himself to death. Too bad. He's
- 12:37Speaker 2: my age. Should have quit when he was younger. But
- 12:40Speaker 2: he has a story when he walked off stage. He
- 12:43Speaker 2: had he had a heckler in the crowd at some
- 12:47Speaker 2: concert and the guy came backstage afterwards and just started
- 12:51Speaker 2: drinking the booze and he likes, who the hell are
- 12:52Speaker 2: you is? The guy who invented crocs? The guy the
- 12:55Speaker 2: inventor of Crocs that was worth gazillions of dollars. So anyway,
- 13:00Speaker 2: Todd Snyder ended and he was a Todd Snyder fan,
- 13:02Speaker 2: So Todd Snyder ended up flying around with this guy
- 13:05Speaker 2: on his private plane. Now is he the heckler he was?
- 13:10Speaker 2: He ended up being a heckler, yes, because Tod Snyder's
- 13:14Speaker 2: on stage and he's gonna do is he's a singer songwriter,
- 13:16Speaker 2: and somebody keeps yelling play Freebird, and and Todd Snyder's like,
- 13:20Speaker 2: ha ha, and the guy just keept interrupting his stories
- 13:23Speaker 2: of play Freebird, and he finally gets mad and storms
- 13:25Speaker 2: off stage. And then the CROCS guy comes back there
- 13:28Speaker 2: and says, why did you storm off stage? And everything
- 13:30Speaker 2: like that? Is that kind of beginning to mickle? Anyway?
- 13:32Speaker 2: On the they're in the plane flying home when he
- 13:36Speaker 2: finds when the CROCS guy says, well, that was me
- 13:38Speaker 2: yelling free bird, but oh my god, yeah, yeh yeah yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 2: And the honey though, you end up just befriending the
- 13:47Speaker 2: guy who infected CROCS, who turns out to be a
- 13:50Speaker 2: drunken party guy apparently just flying them all over the
- 13:53Speaker 2: country and they're having these like multi day they don't
- 13:56Speaker 2: remember where they were parties.
- 13:58Speaker 1: You know the fact that the the inventor of crocs
- 14:01Speaker 1: was not an opera loving investor in fine wines.
- 14:04Speaker 2: It's not a shock that math works. Yeah yeah, oh,
- 14:13Speaker 2: thank you guy, Well, thanks metal guy. I guess that's it.
