- 2:21Speaker 3: of Meeks Rentals and Leasing, Welcome to the show, sir.
- 2:23Speaker 5: How are you.
- 2:25Speaker 6: Good morning, Dave. I'm doing well. How about yourself?
- 2:27Speaker 3: Thank you? I am doing fine. Thank you for taking
- 2:29Speaker 3: time out of your schedule to be here. I want
- 2:31Speaker 3: to start right off the top. We had Morgan Tenny
- 2:34Speaker 3: from the Putnam County Development Authority on the show yesterday
- 2:37Speaker 3: thora talking about the recent announcement of four hundred plus
- 2:41Speaker 3: units coming to Hurricane. But it's about more than just
- 2:44Speaker 3: buying homes. When we talk about this need for housing
- 2:48Speaker 3: in the Kanau Valley, I mean the folks of Advantage
- 2:50Speaker 3: Valley did a study and said that we need a
- 2:53Speaker 3: lot of housing here. But sometimes it's not all just
- 2:57Speaker 3: houses to buy. Sometimes it's houses to rent or to
- 3:00Speaker 3: lease or whatever. Talk about some of your company's residential rental.
- 3:04Speaker 6: Services, absolutely, Dave. Yeah, So first off, I just want
- 3:09Speaker 6: to reiterate how excited we are with war communities coming
- 3:16Speaker 6: in to do some of development with the Hurricane property
- 3:22Speaker 6: and everything that Morgan's done to bring them here as
- 3:26Speaker 6: well as the state. So we're excited about that. But yeah, residentially,
- 3:30Speaker 6: we just came off of a major migration season. Obviously,
- 3:34Speaker 6: we see a lot of moving and shaking in the
- 3:36Speaker 6: summer and everyone getting settled in before school starts back
- 3:40Speaker 6: up and in the flow of things, so we see
- 3:44Speaker 6: a lot of acclamation to the properties as well as
- 3:49Speaker 6: new inventory hit the market, coming off the market, all
- 3:51Speaker 6: those good things. And then we also do a lot
- 3:54Speaker 6: of student housing in the Huntington market, so we do
- 3:56Speaker 6: see a lot of our students coming in during the
- 3:59Speaker 6: months of June and July and August, so we we
- 4:03Speaker 6: have a pretty big influx of new faces in the summer.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I do want to talk about that. I'm grad thor
- 4:09Speaker 3: that you brought that up about the housing situation in Huntington,
- 4:12Speaker 3: because we you know, have had folks on from marsh
- 4:14Speaker 3: University in the past, and we had one of our
- 4:16Speaker 3: broadcast partners down there on the on the from from
- 4:19Speaker 3: the Huntington market on the Midday show last week and
- 4:22Speaker 3: he was talking about that there. I mean, I guess
- 4:24Speaker 3: it's a good problem to have, you know that there
- 4:27Speaker 3: seems to be some housing issues down there, but you
- 4:30Speaker 3: guys certainly got a lot of properties in there. What made
- 4:33Speaker 3: you decide to want to get into the housing market
- 4:35Speaker 3: or the rentals and things of that nature in the
- 4:37Speaker 3: Huntington area around Marshall.
- 4:39Speaker 6: Yeah, we do things that we're going on at the university,
- 4:42Speaker 6: and we try to stay in touch and keep our
- 4:44Speaker 6: finger on the market as best as possible. And with Huntington,
- 4:47Speaker 6: we're seeing such a great kind of reverb with everything
- 4:51Speaker 6: that the President Smith's doing and the commitments that we're
- 4:54Speaker 6: seeing in other sectors in the community. So we knew
- 4:58Speaker 6: that that was going to bring some new energy to
- 5:02Speaker 6: the community as well as the local residential needs. So
- 5:08Speaker 6: jumping on that and being able to provide service down
- 5:11Speaker 6: there as well as investment is one of those things
- 5:13Speaker 6: that we knew were going to happen. So we've been
- 5:15Speaker 6: down there pretty heavily for the last eight nine years
- 5:19Speaker 6: and it seems to continue to grow every month and
- 5:23Speaker 6: every year for us.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I mean, there are some exciting things going on right
- 5:26Speaker 3: now in Huntington. I mean, there really really are. And
- 5:28Speaker 3: I'm a little biased because I'm a Marshall guy, but
- 5:31Speaker 3: it's amazing I mean the growth. I mean I was
- 5:34Speaker 3: a student there at Marshall in the early nineteen nineties,
- 5:36Speaker 3: like one hundred years ago. And when you go back
- 5:39Speaker 3: and you look and you compare what Marshall University was
- 5:42Speaker 3: like when I first arrived on campus in August of
- 5:45Speaker 3: nineteen ninety compared to what it is in August twenty
- 5:47Speaker 3: twenty five. Man, it's like a totally different world.
- 5:50Speaker 6: It is. It's amazing, you know. And the same for me,
- 5:52Speaker 6: alumni down there, was super fortunate to be in the
- 5:55Speaker 6: athletics department as well and just have such a encouraging
- 6:01Speaker 6: outlook on the future and just so we're always we're
- 6:04Speaker 6: able to see the you know, the benefits of that
- 6:07Speaker 6: university and its proximity. But men, the things that are
- 6:11Speaker 6: happening down there are now are incredible.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Talking again with Thor Menks, it is nine thirteen The
- 6:15Speaker 3: Dave Island Show in five Any Live is brought to
- 6:17Speaker 3: you in part by Bridge Valley, offering custom tailored training
- 6:20Speaker 3: to suppli askill of graduates and apprenticeship for your company.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Visit Bridge Valley dot e edu. Let's switch the page
- 6:26Speaker 3: over a little bit. Turned the page if you will,
- 6:28Speaker 3: and go to commercial rentals. I mean, it's an exciting
- 6:31Speaker 3: time in the world of residences, but to also you
- 6:34Speaker 3: can get a lot of commercial rentals. You're trying to
- 6:35Speaker 3: get to tenants for too as well.
- 6:37Speaker 6: Right listen, commercial, you know, that's one of my favorite
- 6:41Speaker 6: sectors that we get to dabble in. But it's absolutely
- 6:45Speaker 6: one of the most encouraging times that we've seen here
- 6:49Speaker 6: in the Kenall Valley really Putnam County specifically, in people
- 6:54Speaker 6: wanting to be in business here in our county, in
- 6:59Speaker 6: Putnam Counting specifically, and we have a very limited market
- 7:06Speaker 6: when it comes to a of good fits of commercial property.
- 7:11Speaker 6: So you know, when it comes to commercial property, we're
- 7:13Speaker 6: talking everything from retail to to light industrial to industrial.
- 7:19Speaker 6: New Core has really amped up the need for some
- 7:23Speaker 6: of that light industrial to industrial property some of their
- 7:26Speaker 6: sectors and off shoes that they have coming in. But
- 7:29Speaker 6: you know, ultimately, even outside of that, people just want
- 7:32Speaker 6: to live and work where you know, work where they live,
- 7:35Speaker 6: and we're fortunate to be able to provide some of
- 7:38Speaker 6: those spaces and try to keep the inventory fresh and new.
- 7:42Speaker 6: And you know, some new development that's happening with Meeks
- 7:45Speaker 6: Mountain Trails. We have a great new development that's happening,
- 7:48Speaker 6: and we'll have about one hundred thousand square fit of
- 7:50Speaker 6: additional retail hub and office space. So we're excited.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Talk about Meeks Mountain Trails. I mean, you know, that's
- 7:58Speaker 3: something that I don't want to say it's a hidden
- 8:00Speaker 3: gym because it's one national awards, But this is something
- 8:03Speaker 3: that is just right down the road from us that
- 8:05Speaker 3: a lot of folks may not be familiar with the
- 8:07Speaker 3: investment that you folks and the county and others have
- 8:10Speaker 3: put into Meeks Mountain Trails. Talk about that entire project,
- 8:14Speaker 3: what it's meant to the area.
- 8:16Speaker 6: Yeah, absolutely, So that investment is all community based. That
- 8:20Speaker 6: investment is hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hours and
- 8:24Speaker 6: hundreds of volunteers coming together on a piece of property
- 8:28Speaker 6: that we're very fortunate to own that makes up about
- 8:31Speaker 6: six hundred acres and connects to our city park. And
- 8:36Speaker 6: what came from that was a community ownership in that
- 8:41Speaker 6: land and a community ownership in these trails. So we
- 8:43Speaker 6: have over thirty two miles of hiking, biking and walking trails.
- 8:46Speaker 6: We're averaging over seven hundred and fifty people a day
- 8:49Speaker 6: on these trails and it's really become an economic driver.
- 8:54Speaker 6: So it's cost us zero dollars, zero commitment from any
- 9:00Speaker 6: of our any tax dollars or anything along those lines.
- 9:03Speaker 6: So this is community based. We've seen the product come
- 9:08Speaker 6: from this as such, an ownership in the trails and
- 9:13Speaker 6: the sustainability of the trails because they were community built.
- 9:16Speaker 6: So we're very fortunate to have those in our backyard and.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Talk about what people can experience when they get on
- 9:21Speaker 3: the trails because there's a variety of different things that
- 9:24Speaker 3: they can do on the trail system itself, for absolutely.
- 9:27Speaker 6: So again, you can hike, you can bike, you can walk,
- 9:32Speaker 6: there's different levels to each trail. It's very well marked,
- 9:38Speaker 6: it's very accessible parking. You know, get out of your
- 9:41Speaker 6: car and head straight onto the trails. Every level of
- 9:47Speaker 6: expertise is definitely able to get on those trails and
- 9:50Speaker 6: enjoy it. And then you know, as soon as you
- 9:52Speaker 6: get off the trails, you can either ride or walk
- 9:54Speaker 6: back home, or if you're not from the area, you're
- 9:56Speaker 6: able to just pack up and get to bike deep
- 9:58Speaker 6: before you head out of town.
- 10:00Speaker 3: And you got certainly a lot of great restaurant options
- 10:02Speaker 3: there in the Greater Tays Valley area and a lot
- 10:07Speaker 3: of motels. Even more are being planned, you know for
- 10:09Speaker 3: the area. So some some exciting stuff that's going on.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I want to go back to some of your properties
- 10:14Speaker 3: that you have here momentarily as we close it out,
- 10:16Speaker 3: I'm going to kind of put you on the spot.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Is there one particular property residential or commercial just off
- 10:23Speaker 3: the top of your head that you can think of
- 10:25Speaker 3: it you really want to put in the spotlight today.
- 10:28Speaker 6: Yeah, So there's one particular property that we have on
- 10:31Speaker 6: the market right now. It's on Tayese Valley Road here
- 10:33Speaker 6: in Putnam County. It is a Class A medical office.
- 10:37Speaker 6: It's a right shy of four thousand square feet Class
- 10:40Speaker 6: A again ready to move into. We have a this
- 10:45Speaker 6: is a multi tenant building. Your your co tenant in
- 10:48Speaker 6: this building is West Virginia University Medicine. So it is
- 10:53Speaker 6: ready to rock and roll. So if anybody's looking for
- 10:55Speaker 6: some medical space that is Class A, this is a
- 10:59Speaker 6: great spot.
- 11:00Speaker 3: That's the best way to reach you, guys.
- 11:02Speaker 6: Best way to reach us is give it to our website.

- 14:08Speaker 3: a lot of things politically we can talk about and
- 14:11Speaker 3: we'll get to that. But what's new with you? Personally?
- 14:13Speaker 12: Okay, personally, I do have two announcements. The first one
- 14:15Speaker 12: is I impulse bought a twelve foot skeleton at home
- 14:18Speaker 12: Depot the other day.
- 14:20Speaker 10: They have more. They're very cool.
- 14:22Speaker 12: Whenever I'm outdoor knocking, I love running into twelve foot
- 14:25Speaker 12: skeletons because they're holy. I mean, they're massive and they're hilarious.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Okay, right, twelve foot skeleton.
- 14:30Speaker 12: Yeah. The other thing has to do with the Capitol
- 14:32Speaker 12: and also Logan County, where we both hail from. Remember
- 14:37Speaker 12: the big piece of coal that was in Mitchell Heights
- 14:40Speaker 12: in front of my grandma's house. If you're driving through
- 14:43Speaker 12: Logan the old way, not on the highway, you drive
- 14:46Speaker 12: right by my grandma's house. She had a big piece
- 14:47Speaker 12: of coal in her front yard. We have donated that
- 14:50Speaker 12: to the state and it's going to be featured in
- 14:53Speaker 12: the new Outdoor.
- 14:54Speaker 10: Exhibit Cool at the Culture Center.
- 14:56Speaker 12: So I'm not sure when that piece of it opens,
- 14:58Speaker 12: but I'm excited that they're going to be a piece
- 15:00Speaker 12: of Logan County coal at the Capitol.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I haven't been by the new things going on at
- 15:07Speaker 3: the Capitol. I was actually actually I was there, and
- 15:09Speaker 3: I think I saw you there. The last time I
- 15:10Speaker 3: was at the Capitol, it's been a couple months, was
- 15:12Speaker 3: at Doug Scaff's wake, and I saw that they were
- 15:14Speaker 3: doing some work there. But I haven't had an opportunity
- 15:17Speaker 3: to make it back over to the Capitol. I know
- 15:19Speaker 3: that there have been a lot of stuff going on there.
- 15:21Speaker 12: Yeah, so it's an outdoor it's a natural resources exhibit
- 15:24Speaker 12: at the Capitol showing off all the great resources West
- 15:27Speaker 12: Virginia House.
- 15:27Speaker 10: So we were excited to donate.
- 15:29Speaker 3: The coal, all right. And also I got to throw
- 15:31Speaker 3: out there since you brought up La and I, you know,
- 15:34Speaker 3: before I had an opportunity to. Now, Mark Hatcher is
- 15:38Speaker 3: your he's my cousin. Your cousin, Mark Catcher, Logan High
- 15:41Speaker 3: basketball coach, is about to be aducted in the Logani
- 15:44Speaker 3: Hall of Fame next Thursday night. You are going to
- 15:46Speaker 3: be there. I'm going to be there serving as MC.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I do it every year for the folks at the
- 15:50Speaker 3: Logan Country Club. So but they got to hurry it
- 15:52Speaker 3: along because I mean it'll start about you know, six
- 15:56Speaker 3: or six thirty. That's opening night for the Cowboys. And
- 16:00Speaker 3: your cousin, Mark and his brother Chase, both huge Cowboy fans.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I'm a Cowboys fan, So let's get through the pomp
- 16:06Speaker 3: and circumstance and get this thing go rolling, because I
- 16:08Speaker 3: got to be back out on the road to at
- 16:10Speaker 3: least listen to the game on the radio when the
- 16:11Speaker 3: Cowboys beat the Eagles. So let's just make sure we
- 16:15Speaker 3: hurry this thing along when we're down there.
- 16:16Speaker 10: Okay, go sports, it's Joe's sports. I hope they all
- 16:20Speaker 10: have fun sports ball.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Yes, all right, let's get serious. Let's talk about PEIA.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Brad wrote about it last Thursday. The governor has got
- 16:30Speaker 3: a four point proposal for changes to PEIA. Now, we're
- 16:33Speaker 3: told the governor and had several meetings with certain legislators
- 16:36Speaker 3: about his proposed changes. The four points are reportedly to
- 16:40Speaker 3: remove coverage eligibility for spouses who are offered health insurance
- 16:43Speaker 3: through their own employer. A new plan would have to
- 16:46Speaker 3: be established, as now the state operates on an eighty
- 16:50Speaker 3: twenty split. That would change to seventy five twenty five.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Would also be a new PEIA fraud unit put in place,
- 16:57Speaker 3: and finally, some greater leverage of farm to see benefit
- 17:00Speaker 3: managers negotiating on drug price, especially the Zimpik was one
- 17:04Speaker 3: of those. It was mentioned just a few other things overall.
- 17:07Speaker 12: Your take, so, yeah, I think this is trying to
- 17:10Speaker 12: be sold to people as a fix to peia. I
- 17:13Speaker 12: don't know that this is much of a fix for
- 17:15Speaker 12: those listening. One in eight West Virginians have pias. Their
- 17:18Speaker 12: health insurance coverage is about two hundred thirty thousand people
- 17:21Speaker 12: here in West Virginia, so it affects a lot of folks.
- 17:24Speaker 12: I think some of that stuff is fine. I think
- 17:26Speaker 12: the greater leverage is a good thing for lowering drug prices.
- 17:30Speaker 12: But I do wonder if we're kicking people off of
- 17:32Speaker 12: the plan if that really changes how we're able to
- 17:36Speaker 12: leverage that. You would think with a smaller pool we
- 17:38Speaker 12: wouldn't be able to leverage to get better prices.
- 17:40Speaker 10: But I hope.
- 17:41Speaker 12: That I'm wrong in that piece. I mean, I think
- 17:44Speaker 12: anything we can do to reduce fraud is a good
- 17:46Speaker 12: thing always. I would say both of those pieces probably
- 17:49Speaker 12: don't require legislation, So.
- 17:52Speaker 10: I don't know on that piece.
- 17:54Speaker 12: The changing the split from eighty twenty to seventy five
- 17:57Speaker 12: to twenty five, so it used to be ninety ten.
- 17:59Speaker 12: It was ninety ten for a very long time. The
- 18:01Speaker 12: price of PI ballooned, and the legislature nobody took care
- 18:04Speaker 12: of it. We kicked the can down the road for
- 18:06Speaker 12: a long time before I was there. And so then
- 18:09Speaker 12: they came in and said, we've really got to do something.
- 18:11Speaker 12: They went from ninety ten to eighty twenty. They said,
- 18:13Speaker 12: this is the fix. We do this, We're good. Now
- 18:16Speaker 12: we're reducing it even more so. It's it's almost like
- 18:19Speaker 12: a where does it end kind of a thing for me.
- 18:21Speaker 12: I think it's new employees would go to seventy five
- 18:23Speaker 12: twenty five. People that are already on it would stay
- 18:26Speaker 12: at the eighty twenty, but their premiums are through the
- 18:28Speaker 12: roof already. Their deductibles went up forty percent this year alone.
- 18:32Speaker 12: Copays doubled, tripled. People can't afford this, and we didn't
- 18:35Speaker 12: do raises.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Well, and we talk about kicking the can. And listeners
- 18:39Speaker 3: have heard me tell this story. When we celebrated Metro
- 18:42Speaker 3: news as anniversary a couple of years ago, fortieth anniversary
- 18:45Speaker 3: of the Metro News a couple of weeks ago, I
- 18:47Speaker 3: should say, we had George Manahan on the show and
- 18:49Speaker 3: we went back in time and we played one of
- 18:51Speaker 3: the you know, in early newscasts. And it was interesting
- 18:54Speaker 3: to me that in that newscast, and this was nineteen
- 18:57Speaker 3: eighty five or maybe early eighty six, not exactly the
- 19:00Speaker 3: sure the day, mister Manahan as the news guy, was
- 19:03Speaker 3: talking at that time about PEIA. Wow, and it's like, wow,
- 19:07Speaker 3: that was either you know, thirty nine forty years ago,
- 19:10Speaker 3: and here we are in twenty twenty five, del again
- 19:12Speaker 3: and we're still talking about PIA.
- 19:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:14Speaker 12: I mean, I would say, we have a broken healthcare
- 19:16Speaker 12: system in this country that doesn't really work well for
- 19:18Speaker 12: anyone no matter what. So I think we're always going
- 19:20Speaker 12: to be talking about it.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Some legislators have said that it would be a hard
- 19:26Speaker 3: sell that and in regardless of party, you know, some
- 19:30Speaker 3: Republicans have said I can't, I can't sell this to
- 19:34Speaker 3: my people. Yeah, so you would you would say, what, well, what's.
- 19:37Speaker 12: It doing for people that are on PA. Now those
- 19:40Speaker 12: people are the ones we're hearing from, and they're the
- 19:42Speaker 12: ones saying I can't afford this. Everything is going up, up, up.
- 19:46Speaker 12: It's gone up fifteen percent every year. Your premiums have
- 19:48Speaker 12: gone up fifteen percent every year. They're going to keep
- 19:50Speaker 12: going up fifteen percent every year, plus deductibles going up
- 19:54Speaker 12: forty percent. This is doing nothing to help those people
- 19:57Speaker 12: at all. This is just other change, right, So I
- 20:01Speaker 12: don't know who this is for really, other than saving
- 20:04Speaker 12: the state money.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Well, and you know, one of the I don't know
- 20:08Speaker 3: if if perks is the right word, but that's probably
- 20:11Speaker 3: not the right word. If one of the benefits. People
- 20:13Speaker 3: have said about, you know, being a state employee, and
- 20:16Speaker 3: we have a bunch of openings in state government we
- 20:18Speaker 3: can't that we can't fill. And you know, when you
- 20:21Speaker 3: talk about PIA and state employees, everybody automatically thinks teachers,
- 20:24Speaker 3: but there's a whole lot of other you know, a
- 20:26Speaker 3: whole lot of other professions of falling them that banner.
- 20:29Speaker 3: One of the benefits has always been, well, you know,
- 20:32Speaker 3: you don't necessarily get paid as much as the private sector,
- 20:35Speaker 3: but your benefits are good. But the holidays and so
- 20:38Speaker 3: on and so forth. But you know, we're hearing that
- 20:40Speaker 3: the benefits ain't what they used to be.
- 20:42Speaker 10: They're not. Yeah, they're not at all.
- 20:44Speaker 12: We got rid of the we got rid of civil
- 20:46Speaker 12: service protections this year for most state employees. The benefits
- 20:50Speaker 12: are not what they used to be. The pay is
- 20:51Speaker 12: still bad. We're not doing enough for our state workers,
- 20:54Speaker 12: and I wonder, I wonder how we're going to keep going.
- 20:56Speaker 12: I think a large percentage of our state workers and
- 21:00Speaker 12: people on PI are of an older generation, and they're
- 21:03Speaker 12: going to be retiring soon. It's not an attractive job
- 21:06Speaker 12: for most younger people. Most people don't think I want
- 21:09Speaker 12: to grow up and work in state government. I hope
- 21:11Speaker 12: they do, because we really need public We really really
- 21:14Speaker 12: need great public servants. But I value those people a lot,
- 21:18Speaker 12: but we're not offering them much at this point, and
- 21:21Speaker 12: the benefits are getting worse.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Special Session, what are you hearing?
- 21:25Speaker 10: Question? Mark?
- 21:25Speaker 4: Right?
- 21:26Speaker 10: I mean you said it yourself. People don't think they
- 21:28Speaker 10: can sell this.
- 21:29Speaker 12: I if I had to bet right now, I'd say,
- 21:31Speaker 12: I don't think it happens in September, Okay, all right.
- 21:34Speaker 10: I would be.
- 21:34Speaker 12: Interested to see if vaccines come up again, though, because
- 21:37Speaker 12: I mean, the governor keeps talking about.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Those, all right, and there is a lot of talk
- 21:40Speaker 3: about vaccines, so of course, you know they There was
- 21:43Speaker 3: a hearing down in Raleigh County yesterday and there was
- 21:47Speaker 3: the you know, the the the bundling, for lack of
- 21:50Speaker 3: a better term, putting the cases, the two religious exemption
- 21:53Speaker 3: cases together.
- 21:56Speaker 10: Did that happen? I saw the ag asket for.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, And so that's I mean, it's
- 22:02Speaker 3: not to be all end all's not done yet. But
- 22:05Speaker 3: but but we're still we're talking about vaccines and there
- 22:07Speaker 3: seems to be a divide here between the state Board
- 22:09Speaker 3: of Education, major divide and the governor and people are
- 22:14Speaker 3: going back and forth and back and forth on this thing.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Where are you on that?
- 22:17Speaker 12: I mean, and between the legislature and the governor. Right,
- 22:19Speaker 12: we killed that bill on the floor. It died, So
- 22:22Speaker 12: I mean, we don't want it. The people of West
- 22:24Speaker 12: Virginia don't want it, Our constituents don't want it. The
- 22:27Speaker 12: governor and I guess Secretary Kennedy at HHS seemed to
- 22:31Speaker 12: be the only the only ones who do really in
- 22:33Speaker 12: a in a vocal minority group of people.
- 22:36Speaker 3: And there seemed to be some concern from a lot
- 22:39Speaker 3: of people about mister Kennedy getting involved in this in
- 22:42Speaker 3: West Virginia and the state's issue.
- 22:43Speaker 12: You would say to that, what I mean, I guess
- 22:46Speaker 12: you can kind of comment on whatever he wants to.
- 22:48Speaker 12: I don't know that he typically has commented on other
- 22:50Speaker 12: things so I think it's kind of bizarre. But I
- 22:53Speaker 12: guess with Senator Stuart potentially going to work for him,
- 22:56Speaker 12: maybe that's the connection. I don't I don't know why
- 22:59Speaker 12: he's got the time to weigh in on it, but
- 23:02Speaker 12: that's fine. I guess feels like it feels like the
- 23:05Speaker 12: governor's trying to bring in the big guns and kind
- 23:07Speaker 12: of why do that when when the legislature has soundly
- 23:11Speaker 12: rejected it.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Talked again with Della Kaylae Young Thedave Island showing five
- 23:14Speaker 3: eighty Live is brought to you party by Live Healthy
- 23:16Speaker 3: West Virginia present by w GVU Medisine. It's a podcast
- 23:19Speaker 3: promoting healthier lifestyles in the state of West Virginia. Check
- 23:23Speaker 3: out latest episode's wv metronews dot com under the podcast menu.
- 23:27Speaker 10: They like this.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Past Sunday, there was a town hall, a discussion group,
- 23:31Speaker 3: whatever you want to call it. I think the Woman's
- 23:33Speaker 3: Club at Charleston that was the venue for it. You
- 23:37Speaker 3: were there, I saw saw the TV coverage. You were there.
- 23:40Speaker 3: I actually had some of the organizers of the show,
- 23:43Speaker 3: Miss Hamilton and mister Pepper on the show last week
- 23:46Speaker 3: talking about looks like from what I saw it was.
- 23:49Speaker 3: It was a good crowd.
- 23:50Speaker 10: I think two and fifty people.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Two hundred fifty people, which is which is a lot.
- 23:53Speaker 3: So talk about what was what took place in that meeting.
- 23:56Speaker 10: Yeah, so its a town hall.
- 23:58Speaker 12: It was hosted by the Kennaugh County demoic at An
- 24:00Speaker 12: executive committee. They did invite the Kenawk County Republican Executive
- 24:03Speaker 12: Committee to be a part of it.
- 24:05Speaker 10: I don't know. They weren't.
- 24:06Speaker 12: I did not see them there. Maybe there were. I
- 24:08Speaker 12: did see some Republicans in the crowd.
- 24:10Speaker 3: It was Republicans in the crowd.
- 24:12Speaker 12: Huh okay, okay, yeah, absolutely, and uh it did seem
- 24:15Speaker 12: to be kind of a mixed crowd. And it was
- 24:17Speaker 12: supposed to it was called Building Bridges, and it was
- 24:19Speaker 12: supposed to just be a town hall where where people
- 24:22Speaker 12: could get up and talk about whatever they wanted. They
- 24:23Speaker 12: invited all the federal delegation. Nobody showed up to no
- 24:26Speaker 12: one surprise, and they invited all of the local delegates,
- 24:31Speaker 12: and myself and two other delegates were there and we
- 24:33Speaker 12: mainly just answered questions and listened to concerns. A lot
- 24:36Speaker 12: of the concerns were federal, but there was a lot
- 24:39Speaker 12: of state stuff.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Too.
- 24:39Speaker 10: It was it was great.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Well, and here is this was my take on the
- 24:43Speaker 3: whole thing last week when I was talking to the organizers.
- 24:46Speaker 3: I mean, we've seen a delegate, you've seen on TV
- 24:49Speaker 3: and online, you know these what these town halls have
- 24:51Speaker 3: become in certain areas. This was not that, and there
- 24:55Speaker 3: was no indication that it was ever going to be that.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Now was it partisan, I mean it was. It was sponsored,
- 25:05Speaker 3: as you said in part, you know, by Democrats. I
- 25:08Speaker 3: get that, but I'm just sitting there thinking if I
- 25:11Speaker 3: were a Republican House of Delegates member serving in this area,
- 25:18Speaker 3: I probably would have attended that. I'm just saying it's
- 25:21Speaker 3: easier for me to say because I'm not okay, but
- 25:24Speaker 3: if I were, I probably would have because it would
- 25:26Speaker 3: be an opportunity for some dialogue. And it's not going
- 25:31Speaker 3: to be hostile. I mean, it's it's simply not. No
- 25:34Speaker 3: one went in there thought that that it was ever
- 25:36Speaker 3: going to get heated. I don't know that it did.
- 25:38Speaker 12: I mean, you were little, not too bad, okay, it
- 25:41Speaker 12: was just some people with frustrations, mostly at the federal Look,
- 25:43Speaker 12: but they weren't okay.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I get that, but I don't think that they were
- 25:47Speaker 3: upset with other people in the room. Right, they were
- 25:50Speaker 3: not up because those other people weren't.
- 25:52Speaker 10: In the room, That's right.
- 25:53Speaker 12: And I do think the republic the local Republican delegates,
- 25:56Speaker 12: I'm not going to speak for them, but I do
- 25:57Speaker 12: believe some of them were out of towns okay, and
- 25:59Speaker 12: it has so kind to give them the benefit of
- 26:01Speaker 12: the doubts.
- 26:01Speaker 3: It happens, It happens. If it were to be a
- 26:04Speaker 3: similar event sponsored by a Republican group, would you and
- 26:08Speaker 3: others go?
- 26:08Speaker 10: Potentially? Potentially I'd be open to it.
- 26:11Speaker 12: Yeah, I mean I try to go to most things
- 26:13Speaker 12: that I'm invited to, like even during session when there's
- 26:16Speaker 12: like lobbying events held by groups that I don't necessarily
- 26:19Speaker 12: agree with, I try to stop by just to hear, listen,
- 26:22Speaker 12: hear people are there.
- 26:23Speaker 3: But I guess my point in saying all this doubtgate
- 26:26Speaker 3: and listeners have heard me say this before, is when
- 26:28Speaker 3: did we ever get to this point where we can't
- 26:30Speaker 3: just listen to what the other side has to say?
- 26:33Speaker 3: I mean, just we're there, down and listen to what
- 26:37Speaker 3: they have to say.
- 26:37Speaker 12: Yeah, I would say that we're there and the political
- 26:40Speaker 12: violence is ratcheting up. You know, we saw lawmakers killed
- 26:44Speaker 12: this summer. It's it's we're in a pretty vitriolic place.
- 26:47Speaker 12: I think social media is part of that.
- 26:49Speaker 3: I think, oh, I think it's amazing.
- 26:50Speaker 12: I think it's the major part of it, with the
- 26:52Speaker 12: siloing of information, and that's not part. It's on both sides.
- 26:55Speaker 12: You know, the algorithm contains you to what you believe,
- 26:58Speaker 12: so people lose a lot of that. And it's really
- 27:00Speaker 12: easy to dehumanize people behind a keyboard. It's a lot
- 27:03Speaker 12: harder to do it in person. Yeah, very much so.
- 27:06Speaker 12: So I think that that's that's absolutely a problem, and
- 27:09Speaker 12: I worry that we're getting to a point. You know.
- 27:11Speaker 12: I listened to a podcast the other day where a
- 27:14Speaker 12: Republican congressman he's the only one this year that has
- 27:17Speaker 12: held a town hall and he's always I think he's
- 27:20Speaker 12: in New York State. He said he's always going to
- 27:22Speaker 12: keep doing it, but he's the only one that's done
- 27:23Speaker 12: it all year. I hope that's not the new norm.
- 27:25Speaker 12: I hope we can sit down and have these kinds
- 27:28Speaker 12: of conversations regardless of where we're at.
- 27:30Speaker 3: But to play Devil's advocate delegate, you, as I said earlier,
- 27:33Speaker 3: you have seen what goes on at some of these
- 27:36Speaker 3: with silence, and the police had to get involved. And
- 27:38Speaker 3: it's not this is not cool for lack of a
- 27:41Speaker 3: better tell, no matter who's holding the town hall. I mean,
- 27:45Speaker 3: people should be able to come in and simply talk.
- 27:48Speaker 3: But my fear is is that the more that people
- 27:52Speaker 3: don't come in and talk, the more like you know,
- 27:55Speaker 3: the one of the rules of marketing I learned one
- 27:58Speaker 3: hundred years ago in public relations classes is that if
- 28:02Speaker 3: you don't tell your story, someone tells your story for you.
- 28:05Speaker 10: That's right.
- 28:06Speaker 3: And that's where I am a feared that we are
- 28:10Speaker 3: at this point, is that, well, you are not going
- 28:12Speaker 3: to come not you specifically, but you're not going to
- 28:14Speaker 3: come speak to us. So we're going to presume what
- 28:17Speaker 3: it is you have to say. We're going to put
- 28:19Speaker 3: those words in your mouth without hearing it from you.
- 28:21Speaker 3: But you can also understand, as I said, when you
- 28:24Speaker 3: see what you've seen on TV, why some of those
- 28:27Speaker 3: would be a little bit hesitant to go to those
- 28:30Speaker 3: I think you got to understand, you know, who's putting
- 28:32Speaker 3: it on, who's responsible for it.
- 28:35Speaker 12: Yeah, and they told us ahead of time that there
- 28:37Speaker 12: was gonna be there were police there they hired security.
- 28:41Speaker 12: I think we also just have to assume other people
- 28:43Speaker 12: have good intentions, you know, and that's kind of hard
- 28:44Speaker 12: to do these days.
- 28:45Speaker 3: It is, it is one hundred percent. We're talking to
- 28:48Speaker 3: Delegate Kaylee Young. All right, so you have you mentioned
- 28:52Speaker 3: the congress person in New York was uh, and I
- 28:56Speaker 3: don't I'm gonna take you at your word when you
- 28:58Speaker 3: said they're the only one that's had to the town halls.
- 29:01Speaker 3: You been a little bit critical of our delegation in
- 29:05Speaker 3: DC for not meeting with the people. You would say
- 29:08Speaker 3: to that, what.
- 29:09Speaker 12: Senator Justice canceled a town not a town hall and
- 29:13Speaker 12: assembly at my children's school this week. I think he
- 29:16Speaker 12: canceled all of his events this week. It's hard to
- 29:18Speaker 12: get in front of these people these days. Even as
- 29:20Speaker 12: a member of the legislature, it's hard for us to
- 29:24Speaker 12: get a hold of these people. It's hard for constituents
- 29:26Speaker 12: to get a hold of them. I just wish they'd
- 29:29Speaker 12: be a little more visible and accessible to folks. I
- 29:33Speaker 12: also think the big Bill is going to be really detrimental.
- 29:36Speaker 12: I wonder where we're going to come up with the
- 29:37Speaker 12: money for all the shortfalls we're about to.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Have, and that's That's one of the things that those
- 29:44Speaker 3: of us that weren't that had a lot of questions,
- 29:47Speaker 3: people like me who tend to lean a little bit
- 29:49Speaker 3: more conservative, but had a lot of questions about that
- 29:53Speaker 3: bill was simply the price tag. Yeah, and it's not
- 29:56Speaker 3: conservative in any way, shape, form or fashion to go
- 29:59Speaker 3: it our former governor, current senator, it's not and that
- 30:03Speaker 3: that was one of the major concerns if you had though,
- 30:07Speaker 3: if you had the opportunity to talk to any of
- 30:11Speaker 3: our senators, our elected officials. Are you know a congressperson
- 30:15Speaker 3: uh More Miller, governor or I'm sorry, I've always call
- 30:21Speaker 3: him governor, Senator Justice, Senator Capita. About meeting with the people,
- 30:25Speaker 3: what would you say?
- 30:26Speaker 12: I mean, I run into them at the grocery store, right,
- 30:29Speaker 12: I see them sometimes and we have decent relationships and
- 30:32Speaker 12: we're able to have conversations. But I would just tell
- 30:35Speaker 12: them that they should listen to their constituents and be
- 30:38Speaker 12: more public and be willing to sit down and have
- 30:40Speaker 12: these conversations like we've been talking about. What's the worst
- 30:43Speaker 12: they can do. You don't have to agree with people,
- 30:44Speaker 12: but the least you can do is listen to them.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Well, I think especially when you're in a setting like
- 30:49Speaker 3: what we had this past Saturday Sunday. Rather and again
- 30:52Speaker 3: I wasn't there, but from what I had been told
- 30:54Speaker 3: and what I saw again in talking to mister Pepper
- 30:56Speaker 3: and mister Hamilton last week, I saw absolutely no indication
- 31:02Speaker 3: there was going to be anything violent, anything akin to
- 31:05Speaker 3: what we've seen on social media and on television with
- 31:08Speaker 3: these town halls.
- 31:08Speaker 6: Turn.
- 31:09Speaker 3: I mean, it's simply not going to happen. I think,
- 31:11Speaker 3: if I mean, if nothing else, I think the others
- 31:15Speaker 3: in the room were going to make sure that that
- 31:17Speaker 3: didn't happen.
- 31:18Speaker 12: Absolutely, And I think so two things right to one extent,
- 31:21Speaker 12: it kind of begets itself where people feel like they
- 31:24Speaker 12: have to kind of do these grand gestures that that
- 31:27Speaker 12: might be more partisan and might be more like bird
- 31:30Speaker 12: dogging type of things because they don't know when they're
- 31:32Speaker 12: going to see these people, so they like plan these
- 31:34Speaker 12: activities to like kind of ambush folks at the rare
- 31:39Speaker 12: opportunity where they know they're going to be out in public.
- 31:41Speaker 12: So I think because they're not so visible that that
- 31:44Speaker 12: it then creates that conversation and that situation, which I
- 31:49Speaker 12: don't think is positive for anybody. I don't think it's
- 31:51Speaker 12: beneficial for anybody to bird dog somebody and show up
- 31:54Speaker 12: and protest at their mobile office hours right at the
- 31:57Speaker 12: library when they're helping people with social security.
- 32:00Speaker 10: Don't like that when they're doing casework.
- 32:01Speaker 12: The other thing is, I think it's incumbent on those
- 32:04Speaker 12: of us, as elected leaders, to model good behavior and
- 32:07Speaker 12: to be seen as leaders and be seen as out
- 32:09Speaker 12: in our community and be seen as listening to our constituents,
- 32:13Speaker 12: whether we agree with.
- 32:13Speaker 10: Them or not. That's our job. We represent all of them,
- 32:17Speaker 10: all right.

- 32:24Speaker 3: Okay, we'll see which one. Oh, okay, we'll see all right.
- 32:28Speaker 3: So there's a possibility that you would not run for

- 36:07Speaker 3: think they are special? You media folks run it into
- 36:11Speaker 3: the ground, says the Texter. Sorry, but I do appreciate
- 36:16Speaker 3: the text, uh, Texas. Yesterday Trump said he has great
- 36:23Speaker 3: common sense and is a smart man. Remember when he
- 36:26Speaker 3: stared at the eclipse? I remember, Yeah, I do remember that.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Tex says. The only something like that, The only way
- 36:35Speaker 3: something like that will work is if it's a known,
- 36:38Speaker 3: bonafide conservative with a reputable image is involved. It was
- 36:44Speaker 3: organized by liberals. You can't get a buy in like that.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Why why can you not? I mean why, I don't
- 36:54Speaker 3: understand why you would would not, Texas. When the legislature
- 36:59Speaker 3: is in and the governor legislators are debating PIA and
- 37:02Speaker 3: pay raises, I'd like for them to remember one thing.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Teachers and service personnel work at soft targets every day.
- 37:10Speaker 3: They're under the thread of shooting violence, and the teacher
- 37:12Speaker 3: and service personnel are expected to protect and sacrifice their
- 37:15Speaker 3: safety for students if a terrible event happens. So parents,
- 37:19Speaker 3: governor legislators. Remember whose task of protecting your children during
- 37:23Speaker 3: a viable attack at school? Quit screwing those tasks to
- 37:26Speaker 3: teach and to protect your children. Tex says Obama started
- 37:31Speaker 3: all this. He called us bitter clingers. It was divisive.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Tex says. Delegate Young complains about the price tag and
- 37:40Speaker 3: the big beautiful bill, but she didn't complain about the
- 37:43Speaker 3: price tag of the American Rescue Plan and the inflation
- 37:46Speaker 3: Reduction Act. That makes her a hypocrite. No one listens
- 37:48Speaker 3: to hypocrites. Well, okay, uh, Tex says, I'll tell you
- 37:55Speaker 3: when it happened. I was told by Republicans that January
- 37:58Speaker 3: sixth was justified, that the criminals are patriots who unfairly persecuted,
- 38:02Speaker 3: That Democrats are vermin and thugs, it must be eradicated,
- 38:05Speaker 3: that immigrants poisoned the blood of the country, That Democrats
- 38:08Speaker 3: are a secret cabal to pedophiles, that a sex abuser
- 38:11Speaker 3: and felm It is a good role model for the country,
- 38:13Speaker 3: and that's good to grab women by the blank. Fix this.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Republicans then talk to me about listening. Republicans have no
- 38:19Speaker 3: honor or integrity. Text. You may have been told that
- 38:22Speaker 3: by some people, but not by all. And there are
- 38:25Speaker 3: those of us that at the time was a Republican.
- 38:28Speaker 3: I'm not now. I'm a registered independent who thought that
- 38:31Speaker 3: January sixth was horrifying, unjustified. And that's basically what may
- 38:36Speaker 3: led me to leave the Republican Party. One of the things.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Don't paint us all with one brush, even though I'm
- 38:42Speaker 3: no longer a Republican tex says a delegate. Young knows
- 38:47Speaker 3: she's going to get booted from office next year if
- 38:50Speaker 3: she runs for the House again. She's hedging herself and

- 41:42Speaker 3: perfectly fine. Text says you paint liberals with one brush daily.
- 41:46Speaker 3: Every liberal is a cross dressing library and peen and

- 45:39Speaker 3: a little bit. I did receive a text from one
- 45:44Speaker 3: particular House of Delegates member, and I will lead his

- 45:51Speaker 3: were invited to the event by mister Pepper, and I'm

- 45:58Speaker 3: sending this. I am in these kind of events, but
- 46:01Speaker 3: will unfortunately be out of town actually on a legislative
- 46:04Speaker 3: work trip that they will be returning on Tuesdays. So
- 46:08Speaker 3: at least one Republican member, maybe more said that they
- 46:13Speaker 3: wanted to go but would be out of town on
- 46:15Speaker 3: the legislative work trip. I appreciate the texture or the
- 46:18Speaker 3: person the delegate, and without having permission from them, I
- 46:21Speaker 3: don't want to mention their name. If they're still listening
- 46:23Speaker 3: and they want to mention it, they want me to,
- 46:24Speaker 3: you can text me back. And they texted that to
- 46:27Speaker 3: my personal phone. I will do it, but I will
- 46:29Speaker 3: not do it without your permission. Texas, almost every liberal
- 46:33Speaker 3: is a cross dressing library in LOL. We've had to
- 46:38Speaker 3: put the lol after that. Tex says the constant talk
- 46:40Speaker 3: of why West Virginia has left the Democratic Party mainly
- 46:42Speaker 3: center around the far left trans issues, gay issues, and
- 46:45Speaker 3: woke issues, you know, things that attempt to humanize others
- 46:48Speaker 3: and to help with empathy. Those people went Republican, whose
- 46:51Speaker 3: far extreme sided is racism, sexism, homophobia, and extreme Christianity. Yes,
- 46:56Speaker 3: Democrats lost people, but only because those people who went
- 46:59Speaker 3: Republican chose to align their hearts and souls with a
- 47:01Speaker 3: party that makes them the most comfortable, says a tankster.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Tex says the same song of dance, wah wah wah. Okay,
- 47:10Speaker 3: I don't know if that was wah wah wah like
- 47:12Speaker 3: it is in crying or maybe like the bumper music
- 47:15Speaker 3: or the return music on happy Days. I don't know,
- 47:19Speaker 3: Charlie Brown. Perhaps Tex, says Dave. The West Reginia legislature
- 47:23Speaker 3: needs to pass the death penalty for anyone who would
- 47:25Speaker 3: harm kill any student, teacher, or school personal personnel, period
- 47:30Speaker 3: says the texter. Uh, okay, we're not going to get
- 47:33Speaker 3: personal on that particular thing there. Okay, I got it
- 47:43Speaker 3: all right. So anyway, back to a story about the
- 47:47Speaker 3: former Canagh County Deputy Slash Bailiff as I mentioned Chris's
- 47:50Speaker 3: story wv Metronews dot com. A second woman has not
- 47:53Speaker 3: come forward, claiming to have been repeatedly abused and sexually
- 47:56Speaker 3: assaulted while in custody waiting on court hearing. According to
- 47:59Speaker 3: official court documents, cast Close made unwanted advances toward the
- 48:03Speaker 3: anonymous woman almost immediately after she was brought in the
- 48:06Speaker 3: Canawa County Courthouse over the course of two years, from
- 48:09Speaker 3: late twenty twenty three until earlier this year. The first
- 48:12Speaker 3: woman who came forward a couple of weeks ago, which
- 48:15Speaker 3: is what led to Close being put in jail. That
- 48:17Speaker 3: woman claims have been sexually assaulted while being held on
- 48:20Speaker 3: the seventh floor awaiting the hearing. That incident is alleged
- 48:25Speaker 3: to have happened in closest office office after she was
- 48:28Speaker 3: removed from her cell. Now the second woman is offering
- 48:30Speaker 3: him claims of graphic encounters with this person again. We
- 48:34Speaker 3: will talk with the attorneys in that case later today
- 48:38Speaker 3: on Metro News Midday, I want to go back just quickly,
- 48:43Speaker 3: and we're bringing TJ. Meadows for a quick preview talk
- 48:45Speaker 3: line to yesterday's show. For a moment had Morgan Tenny
- 48:49Speaker 3: on from the Putnam County Development of Authority and talking
- 48:53Speaker 3: about other things, including its major housing project. And I
- 48:56Speaker 3: touched on it a little earlier with thor Meeks as well.
- 49:00Speaker 3: The amount of people who get upset over progress truly,
- 49:04Speaker 3: truly cracked me up. Over four hundred homes are being
- 49:08Speaker 3: built in the Hurricane area, an area that is in
- 49:11Speaker 3: a definite need of housing, I mean lots of it,
- 49:14Speaker 3: not only in Putnam County, but also in Knawa County,
- 49:17Speaker 3: Capital counties as well. And reading comments online this way,
- 49:21Speaker 3: and I know, I know, never read the comments of
- 49:25Speaker 3: people saying it was a waste of perfectly good farmland,
- 49:29Speaker 3: farmland which by the way, wasn't being used as farmland.
- 49:31Speaker 3: It was a big vacant field, all right. I say,
- 49:36Speaker 3: as somebody who lives in that area, build the houses,
- 49:40Speaker 3: build them. And as for traffic, traffic is horrible in
- 49:46Speaker 3: Tay's Valley, But again it's a great problem to have. Again,
- 49:52Speaker 3: I've said it until I'm blew in the face. How
- 49:54Speaker 3: many areas of this state would kill to have a
- 49:57Speaker 3: traffic problem.
- 49:59Speaker 6: It will.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Yesterday about a twenty minute drive for me from the
- 50:06Speaker 3: Tays Valley accident off I sixty four to my home.
- 50:11Speaker 3: It was about a twenty minute drive in what is
- 50:14Speaker 3: maybe maybe three miles. I didn't like it. I may
- 50:19Speaker 3: have been cursing under my breath, but again I will
- 50:23Speaker 3: take it. The area is exploding yet again, as it
- 50:27Speaker 3: did in the early to mid nineties, and it is
- 50:31Speaker 3: simply the place to be right now. I'm a little
- 50:34Speaker 3: you know, I'm a little prejudiced toward my home, my homeland,
- 50:37Speaker 3: not my hometown, but where I chose to make my
- 50:39Speaker 3: home eleven years ago. Great things are going on there, man,
- 50:42Speaker 3: great things. You'll recall a week ago Saturday there was
- 50:46Speaker 3: a shelter in place, and since then there have been
- 50:49Speaker 3: some town halls to talk about it. One last night
- 50:51Speaker 3: at Bell Morgan Pemberton covered it, writes about a wv
- 50:54Speaker 3: metro news dot com. About a dozen or so, according
- 50:56Speaker 3: to Morgan, were there last night, just a lot of
- 50:58Speaker 3: questions on what turned out to be not a big
- 51:01Speaker 3: deal at all. It was harmless. Apparently officials from the
- 51:05Speaker 3: plant were there, Canaw County Emergency Management Services, the Kanaw
- 51:09Speaker 3: Poundy kana Puttnam Emergency Planning Committee and others were there
- 51:13Speaker 3: to meet with the residents. And if you live there,
- 51:16Speaker 3: probably not a big deal. But as one resident pointed
- 51:19Speaker 3: out there have been a lot of newer people moving
- 51:21Speaker 3: to the area who may not have been aware of
- 51:22Speaker 3: what to actually do in a shelter in place like
- 51:26Speaker 3: we had a week ago Saturday. Again, Morgan, great job
- 51:28Speaker 3: by the story. You can read it for yourself at
- 51:30Speaker 3: wv metronews dot com. Deck says a little reminder to
- 51:33Speaker 3: left us that these sons of liberty were called extrememists
- 51:36Speaker 3: by British loyalists. So anyone who fights against the Marxist
- 51:38Speaker 3: takeover of our republic is an extremist. Question mark. Stop
- 51:43Speaker 3: lecturing the rest of us about tolerance and acceptance while
- 51:46Speaker 3: constantly making nasty, snide comments. Over half of the country
- 51:51Speaker 3: never accused of making snide nasty comments. TJ. Meadows is here?
- 51:56Speaker 3: He doing man good?
- 51:57Speaker 5: How are you?
- 51:58Speaker 3: I am doing fine. I'm glad to hear it getting
- 52:00Speaker 3: I'm getting attacked from both sides. Sorry, buddy, I'm a
- 52:04Speaker 3: you got big shoulders. I'm a no, I don't just
- 52:07Speaker 3: got a big gut. I am a left wing nut
- 52:09Speaker 3: job slash right wing nut job. Which is it. I'm
- 52:11Speaker 3: glad to know who you are. How about we just
- 52:14Speaker 3: go with nut job and just leave it at that
- 52:16Speaker 3: what you got on a big show. My friend n
- 52:18Speaker 3: O six.
- 52:18Speaker 17: Latest on the vax lawsuit coming up at ten thirty
- 52:20Speaker 17: the Boom County Sheriff on that heroic good Samaritan rescue
- 52:23Speaker 17: from yesterday. Greg Noon a Fairmont State stops by. We'll
- 52:26Speaker 17: talk about that EO to ban flag burning. Howard Monroe
- 52:30Speaker 17: and I dialoguing with the governor of the Great state
- 52:33Speaker 17: off social media.
- 52:35Speaker 3: Man, what's up with that? We'll talk about it.
- 52:38Speaker 17: We'll talk about it also that Ohio County School's board
- 52:40Speaker 17: meeting last night that would have allowed Bible studies to
- 52:43Speaker 17: take place take kids out of school during the day.
- 52:45Speaker 3: We'll get into that with Howard as well. All Right,
- 52:47Speaker 3: I will see you later day I Metro News midday
- 52:49Speaker 3: till then, have fun and love somebody.
- 53:00Speaker 2: H w C h s A ninety six point five.
