- 0:59fantastic. Thank you, Stephen.
- 1:01Rabbi Lawrence Hasyov, what a treat it is to have you here
- 1:04with us. It is such an honor, such a
- 1:07pleasure to finally be invited to your podcast.
- 1:09It took time. Let's.
- 1:10Let's be honest, we said we needed 100,000 listeners first,
- 1:13so I'll. Let you off this time.
- 1:15Well, maybe he's going to help us get 100,000 listeners.
- 1:17OK, OK, whatever. Whatever it takes, I guess.
- 1:20Right? Robbie Lawrence, I don't think
- 1:22anyone here knows this little tidbit of a fact, but you were
- 1:27sitting on my patio when we were coming up with the name of the
- 1:31None of Your Business podcast. Yes, this is a true story.
- 1:34We were sitting around and we were talking about the fact that
- 1:37we were going to start a podcast.
- 1:39It was a little over a year ago and we were just going around
- 1:43with names. Do you remember this?
- 1:44I do remember it vividly. Yeah.
- 1:46On your patio? Yes, on the patio and there were
- 1:48a. Selection of names.
- 1:49I think you went to GPT to find a selection of names.
- 1:52Actually see which one. Fits.
- 1:53That didn't work. That didn't work.
- 1:55You know, I did use ChatGPT, by the way, to ask today about
- 1:58Rabbi Lawrence Hashioff, and I have to tell you, you're a
- 2:01pretty accomplished fella. Call it a ChatGPT.
- 2:03You will ask my wife. Different story all together.
- 2:07Robbie Lawrence, you know, didn't you start off your career
- 2:09as a comedian or something? I have some sort of
- 2:11recollection. I started my career.
- 2:13I used to make a little bit of extra money when I was at
- 2:16college doing stand up comedy Stop it and but I really was
- 2:20terrible so I gave it up and gave a rabbi instead.
- 2:23But I did actually. No, no, tell me about that
- 2:25experience. I need to know.
- 2:26Let's jump right into it. So there was a competition at my
- 2:28university that they wanted to have like a medium of the year
- 2:31and I applied for it and had to go through rehearsals.
- 2:34And I got the, I got into the audition and from that I got
- 2:39offered various jobs doing comedy.
- 2:42Had a good friend of mine called Simon and he would drive me
- 2:44around to different places, do the stand up, you know, comedy.
- 2:47And I went to one location and it was a birthday party.
- 2:49A guy had found me some house, a newspaper report or whatever it
- 2:53was. And I went this venue and it was
- 2:57this guy's wife's birthday. But she was turning 90, so the
- 3:02average age, and she was young for the crowd, the average age,
- 3:05people in their mid 90s. And every joke I told, you could
- 3:09hear their false teeth, like clacketing, no laughing.
- 3:14And my friend Simon, who's my unofficial agent, was outside
- 3:18and the door was slightly open and I could see his face and he
- 3:22was crying. He couldn't breathe.
- 3:24At that point I realized that I needed to find a new career.
- 3:27It was not going to work. I did actually go through
- 3:29classes. It's true, by the way, with my
- 3:31cousin Adrian. How to do stand up comedy We
- 3:33went to a course, the stand up comedy course what'd.
- 3:35You learn. I'll tell you something.
- 3:37I I can't remember everything, but there's one thing to stand,
- 3:39stand out in the stand up. See, stand up.
- 3:43And what they made you do was tell jokes to the crowd, the
- 3:46other, you know, students. And then they would stop
- 3:49laughing and they would say, now you die.
- 3:51You have to fall on the floor dead.
- 3:53I'll pretend, obviously. What was the idea that you're
- 3:55going to die eventually? All comedians have to get used
- 3:57to failing on stage. So they just prepare you to tell
- 4:00jokes. They prepared you to fail on
- 4:02stage. I will say that that course was
- 4:04like an 8 part course. Really got into my head the
- 4:08importance of speakers. The best speakers, which is what
- 4:11I do a lot of are comedians because if you don't hear what
- 4:13they're saying, no one's going to laugh.
- 4:16So a lot of my speaking techniques actually gain from
- 4:20watching comedians, which I love, you know as well, but to
- 4:23watch you stand up and learning from them how to speak
- 4:26eloquently and clearly so that people can hear the punchline,
- 4:29so they can laugh at your jokes. Yeah, but I don't know if you
- 4:33know this, Michael, but shavuous at night, you know, there's an
- 4:37art form to keeping people up and keeping people awake.
- 4:41So in our shul, lots of shuls do this.
- 4:43I don't think it's unique to us. They bring in different speakers
- 4:47to come and entertain the crowd, right?
- 4:49So Arshul, we have a lineup usually of four or five people.
- 4:54And Rabbi Lawrence Hajjioth is one of the people that comes and
- 4:57speaks in Arshul. I met him like two or three
- 5:01years ago. I don't remember which year we
- 5:03started this, but it was the first time I met him.
- 5:05And I'll never forget. I remember that night.
- 5:07I was struggling to stay up, man.
- 5:09I was really struggling. This was everybody around him.
- 5:12You know, everybody's dozing off slowly.
- 5:13You know, we're losing people as the hours go on.
- 5:17And then this guy comes and he shows up and he was, I think,
- 5:20the final speaker before the rabbi.
- 5:22The rabbi speaks at the very end, but he was the final
- 5:25speaker. So it was very late into the
- 5:26night. It was like 3:00 AM or
- 5:28something. And he comes and he speaks
- 5:30within like 60 seconds. Everybody was alert.
- 5:34Everybody was tuned in it. It was clear that this was going
- 5:37to be a little different. This was going to be fresh, and
- 5:39you're talking about comedy. And I think what you did well
- 5:43and what you really made you stand out from everybody else
- 5:46was that you weren't just giving a speech.
- 5:47You were coming with character, you came with personality, and
- 5:51you were an entertainer. And I think good speakers,
- 5:54that's what they do. They entertain a crowd.
- 5:56They infuse a little bit of comedy, a little bit of
- 5:59emotions, right? There has to be a lot of that.
- 6:02Talk. I try to call it edutainment.
- 6:04That's my thing. Education, entertainment,
- 6:06content and entertainment. Cause there's a lot of
- 6:08alternatives to listen to rabbis, whether online,
- 6:11Instagram, YouTube or live. So if you're not entertaining
- 6:14people, they'll go somewhere else.
- 6:15Yeah, everyone who's a speaker today, including you guys and
- 6:18your podcast, they got entertained.
- 6:20No one must have a boring experience when it comes to
- 6:22their precious time and their own personal entertainment.
- 6:25Yeah, people want to have fun. Listen, people, you know, life
- 6:27is not always, you know, fun, not always entertaining.
- 6:30Sometimes people get sad. People are depressed, people are
- 6:34down. We need more humor.
- 6:36We need people to laugh more and to say more joke, not take life
- 6:39so seriously. You know, this is really a key
- 6:42element to people just being happier is take life so
- 6:45seriously. You know, make a joke or two,
- 6:47don't take yourself too seriously.
- 6:49And I think people who do that well, I think they're just
- 6:51happier in general. Can I just, you start off
- 6:55talking about how you know, I got involved in the when you
- 6:57were selecting the name of your podcast, but you didn't mention
- 6:59how I first met you. So I want to tell your views how
- 7:01I first met you. Oh boy.
- 7:03Because this is always interesting.
- 7:04Anybody that met Michael, there's always a story behind
- 7:06it. There's always a story.
- 7:07There's always a story. So let's hear this.
- 7:08This story is a good one because we were living in a certain
- 7:11neighbourhood in Muncie. And then I got a call saying
- 7:15that they were erecting a new neighbourhood that was coming
- 7:19and my wife and I were looking for a, you know, had a growing
- 7:22family. And they said you can try to get
- 7:24into this neighborhood, but there's a gatekeeper, a guy you
- 7:27need to speak to. Really.
- 7:29And this guy is going to interview and he's going to
- 7:32decide whether you are right. You and your family arrived at
- 7:35this neighborhood. I was very nervous.
- 7:36Isn't that an interview to live in a neighborhood?
- 7:38I never heard big deal. That was a crazy thing.
- 7:40Is that normal crazy? I don't think it is.
- 7:42Like you have to meet. People prior to moving into a
- 7:45neighborhood to be. Approved to be approved To be
- 7:48approved? Really, I call it this.
- 7:49What's the name of the guy who is your my contact person over
- 7:53there to have this interview process?
- 7:55His name is Haim Greenfield and the house next door to him is
- 7:59the house that's vacant. And so I had the interview and
- 8:02obviously came with my shirt and my tie.
- 8:04And those days I used to wear a tie.
- 8:06Now I don't, I turn up and the front door opens and there's
- 8:10this guy wearing, you know, shorts and like a wife beater
- 8:13and it come in. I'm like what this this is it.
- 8:17This guy's gonna vet. And I'm still upset to this day
- 8:19that this guy vetted me and my family.
- 8:22No. Doesn't well.
- 8:23You you think you're upset? How do you think I feel when we
- 8:26decided that the back of your house should be facing me and
- 8:29you ended up designing your entire house and you turned and
- 8:33you made a 180 and now your entire front of your house faces
- 8:36my house? That's true.
- 8:36And you made that decision all on your own.
- 8:38I didn't even approve that. How?
- 8:39Did you even come to be in this position that you were chosen
- 8:42to? I was very lucky to.
- 8:44There was a property that was owned by someone named Quilecki,
- 8:47who owns a lot of property in the Rockland County area.
- 8:49And he had property and he was, he wasn't doing anything.
- 8:52And I, I kept coming to him and I said, what are you doing with
- 8:54your property? You have to start developing and
- 8:56doing something. My property is like wine.
- 8:59The older it gets, the more valuable it gets.
- 9:02And I said, I said, you're actually right, but you got to
- 9:04do something at some point. And it was impossible to speak
- 9:07to him. So I did what any good person in
- 9:09the real estate world would do. And I went to his dad and I made
- 9:13a deal with his dad and I brought in an investor and we
- 9:16bought 24 properties as a collective.
- 9:19And part of buying the properties was we're going to
- 9:21make this an entire community. So even though the properties
- 9:24were smaller, we made a decision that having smaller properties
- 9:28but having it in one cul-de-sac type of area where all the kids
- 9:31can play and everyone can enjoy themselves is more beneficial.
- 9:34So I had the ability, I don't know about the right, but I had
- 9:38the ability to be a little bit selective on who's coming into
- 9:41the community. I wanna know.
- 9:42Did you decline anybody? Was there anybody that you
- 9:45actually said, Nah, this is not for you?
- 9:46So, Robbie Lawrence, tell me a little bit more about yourself.
- 9:49Exactly. By the way, Michael, I have to
- 9:51say this sounds very like your type.
- 9:53You're not that snob material. I'm very much.
- 9:55Judging other people, You're good enough.
- 9:57You're not good enough. Like it?
- 9:58Wasn't about judging. It's like it's.
- 10:00Not for you. You were the wrong.
- 10:01Person when you build a community, you want you.
- 10:03Wanna make sure the person's coming in is gonna fit in the
- 10:06good. I hear it.
- 10:07It obsessed me that he was a selector, but I do hear it.
- 10:09I mean a non Skvair person doesn't want to live in Skvair,
- 10:12right? Right.
- 10:12It's the same idea. They don't want to live in
- 10:13Montreal. It's not.
- 10:14A Hasidic community, right? They don't want to, but you do
- 10:16want to have a certain type of community that has some sort of
- 10:19fit. I mean, it was just a matter of.
- 10:21Making sure and by the way, it is a really nice.
- 10:23We did a really nice job but we asked people to get 5% down and
- 10:270 more money until the house is built so we.
- 10:29Were a lot in the back of you, Michael.
- 10:30That's OK Very disappointed. That's OK.
- 10:32It ended up because you know, you're the 15.
- 10:33Years later and we're doing OK as.
- 10:35Neighbors, I know you. I know you very well.
- 10:36And you, you, you're open to anybody.
- 10:38You're one of those people that you can get along with literally
- 10:41anyone. Absolutely.
- 10:43And to build a community by saying this person is good
- 10:46enough, that person's not, that's not how you build the
- 10:48community. That's actually the the the
- 10:50antithesis of a community. I totally disagree.
- 10:53He knows a lot of people, that is true.
- 10:55But I'll tell you something about him because I know him
- 10:56very well at this point. He has many acquaintances, but
- 11:00he has very few friends. He's very selective.
- 11:02He's friendly to a lot of people who walk on a supermarket.
- 11:04We're on the pickleball court this morning.
- 11:05Can I mention that? You could.
- 11:06Is that right? That's my pickleball this
- 11:08morning. Really great game.
- 11:10Wait a second, great game. Where was my invite?
- 11:12Obsessed with this game everyone.
- 11:14Knows Robbie Lawrence has actually been my coach in
- 11:16pickleball. He's been my coach in a few
- 11:17things Before I went publicly speaking, he actually taught me
- 11:20the art of using your hands. Are you any good?
- 11:22You speak And then in playing pickleball, he thought that he
- 11:25was one of the best tennis players and it can be an
- 11:28advantage to playing pickleball and being that no one could be
- 11:32in him at tennis, he was like, hey, let me be the pickleball
- 11:34master. Also I got I got old and two
- 11:36types. I play tennis still but I enjoy
- 11:37pickleball so I'm playing with time.
- 11:39But my point is time gets on the court and there's like 2 ladies
- 11:42on the court before us and he gets on that and he's not
- 11:44schmooze givers seems to he'll I mean they think he's his best
- 11:47friend and I'm saying that's the way he is.
- 11:48But those are not friends, they're acquaintances.
- 11:50It's a. Big difference.
- 11:51I don't actually agree with you. I think that all of those people
- 11:54become my friends. It's just that they're not in my
- 11:56close circle simply because they don't have that time or we don't
- 11:59have that ability. There's 2 ladies and you're
- 12:00close to hanging out I. Actually, I actually don't agree
- 12:02with you. I think those are.
- 12:03Shopping with them. I think that anybody that comes
- 12:05into my circle is accessible to me 24/7 and you can consider
- 12:08yourself my friend. That's not a.
- 12:10Real friend, though, It doesn't. I didn't say it's a real friend,
- 12:12but to me, an acquaintance is somebody you walk by and you
- 12:15give that nod to. You know that nod when you see
- 12:17someone but you're not sure who they are, but they're not sure
- 12:19who you are. You're both not sure of each
- 12:21other and you're like, how's your summer?
- 12:24I have these. OK, awful of people that who get
- 12:27the nod from me and nothing else.
- 12:29I like the raised eyebrow. Yeah, that that nod.
- 12:32So that's an acquaintance. Anything beyond that to me is a
- 12:35friend. And of course, there are real
- 12:36close friends who I feel like they're you.
- 12:39Know time is good at pickable. I'm good.
- 12:41I'm just letting you know he's got good and and by the way,
- 12:44just so you know, it's a great video that's kind of being viral
- 12:47on us and doctors speaking. The best way to keep off
- 12:49dementia is any form of racket sport, whether it's pickleball
- 12:53or racquetball or tennis, really 100% that's a big thing.
- 12:57Why is that fight of Tasha? Do I look like a doctor to you?
- 13:00Actually, maybe I do. Should take that back.
- 13:01I mean. There's got to be some little.
- 13:03Something about since you're hand dining coordination perhaps
- 13:06on it, yeah, you're like navigating the ball and stuff
- 13:09with a racket. It's kind of like works both
- 13:11side of your brain and it's and it.
- 13:13I'd like to learn more about it. Actually that's very
- 13:15interesting. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:16Because you can now make this into a medical, you know,
- 13:19condition and say, listen, I have in surely find the dementia
- 13:23I need to play pickleball more often.
- 13:24Always an angle for my my my. Always an angle.
- 13:28My employer can't say no. Right?
- 13:29Exactly. It's for health.
- 13:30That's what I'm saying. I have to go play pickle health.
- 13:32The reasons I have to play pickleball 3 * a week I have.
- 13:34To tell you that four years ago I was in Venice Beach in
- 13:37California, and I saw them knocking down basketball courts.
- 13:40And this is a true story, guys. And I was like, I went to the
- 13:43maintenance guys that were doing all this work.
- 13:44And I said, what are you guys doing?
- 13:45And one of the guys said, we're putting up something called
- 13:47pickleball courts. And I said, pickle what?
- 13:50Yeah, pickleball courts. I said, what's a pickleball
- 13:52court? And I went in and I investigated
- 13:54what is a pickleball? What, what's the game all about?
- 13:57And I realized that someone started a National League for
- 14:00pickleball. And at that time, none of the
- 14:02celebrities had teams at that point.
- 14:04And I went to my close friends and I said, guys, maybe we
- 14:07should invest in pickleball and we should create a team.
- 14:09And they laughed at me. And three weeks later was the
- 14:11announcements of all these superstars that had the.
- 14:14Joins on as a Pike Teams, yeah. Exactly.
- 14:16So it is a fun sport. It's fun to.
- 14:18It's not so much fun to watch though on television, to be
- 14:21honest. With you, No, it's actually
- 14:22terrible. To watch, they're all standing
- 14:23close and just knocking it out. It's more fun to play.
- 14:25Sometimes it's fun to watch a sport versus playing it, but
- 14:28this is one of the. You know, if anybody's hearing
- 14:30it for the first time, go out and learn to play pickleball
- 14:33with your kids, with your spouses, with your significant
- 14:35other. It's a fun game that everyone
- 14:37can play. It's just like driving a Tesla.
- 14:39It's great being the driver, but not being a passenger is not so
- 14:41good. Something's you gotta actually
- 14:42do in order to enjoy it, right? It was pickleball.
- 14:44They've got to play it. Watching it, it's a little bit
- 14:46boring. And I'm not into Tesla's.
- 14:47I know you got a Tesla and you're into that.
- 14:49I love it. You know, there are
- 14:50materialistic things that I believe that you're into.
- 14:52One of them is the Tesla that is true.
- 14:54And the other one is I've heard a rumor that you're known as
- 14:57the. Rolex Rabbi.
- 14:59It's a little underground but I do as sort of as a hobby.
- 15:03But I do buy and sell high end watches, specifically Rolexes.
- 15:07That is true. Wow.
- 15:08Tell us about your collection. You're like a Rolex broker.
- 15:11I don't know Rolex. Rabbi.
- 15:13No, but he's saying he Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:15Rolex. I he part of my persona.
- 15:16I started a an Instagram channel as well.
- 15:20I have a few of them. One of them is actually called
- 15:21Rolex Rabbi. So I did use that, but I don't.
- 15:25That's fantastic. I want to hear about your
- 15:26collection though. About my.
- 15:28Yeah, like what's your, what's your price?
- 15:30Books I'm teaching, you want to have this guy.
- 15:32That's what I want to. Hear you want to hear about this
- 15:34Rolex? Yes.
- 15:35What's your price possession, Rolex?
- 15:36That's what I want. To know my price, yeah, well,
- 15:38anything I have is purely going to be sold anyway, so.
- 15:41OK, that's fine. But I do, I mean, I always love
- 15:43as a kid, I love watches. I always had a thing for
- 15:46watches. That was my thing.
- 15:48All right. Tell you I had a thing.
- 15:49That's nice. You and millions of other
- 15:50people. You're not the only.
- 15:51One, I didn't realize that, but yes, a big, it's a bit of a
- 15:54disease that's definitely spread.
- 15:55So I was at a thing and then I was introduced to this
- 15:57particular brand and I had a friend who was dealing with it
- 16:00and I picked up one which was a Daytona and I just like it.
- 16:03What else do we have? Men specifically?
- 16:06I don't wear jewel red or you know, necklace or rings,
- 16:08whatever. What do we have that kind of
- 16:09like is the closest we have to jewelry that we can have that we
- 16:12can enjoy. But it's a living thing that
- 16:14someone's made it, spent time in it.
- 16:16Really, that's part of it. I enjoy the fact that there's
- 16:18like history to it and it's it's a genius piece of a mechanism
- 16:23which like goes itself. There's no battery.
- 16:25Think about that. It's automatic.
- 16:26It's an amazing thing. So we have nothing like that.
- 16:28When I see someone walk into Rome, I notice their watch
- 16:31first. Do you know the number?
- 16:32Like Ziv the watch, you also go. To that, I mean, some of them,
- 16:35I, I, I don't like people who wear and I'm going to offend
- 16:38some of your viewers. Apple Watches I just.
- 16:40I actually own one, but I never wear it.
- 16:43What about Swatch? I haven't thought I grew up with
- 16:45Swatch watches and I did wait in line with my son for like 3
- 16:49hours to get the moon Swatches, which is fun.
- 16:51You know, you go inside that Swatch is a great brand doesn't
- 16:53have to be expensive. You know I just I have a thing
- 16:56for watches. So swatches was something I was
- 16:58very into and actually I went to London recently and I picked up
- 17:01a whole for my parents. They had like old ones they used
- 17:03to keep and give it to my son. And if you go to any Swatch
- 17:06store for free, they changed the battery.
- 17:08You could have a Swatch watch from 30 years ago. 40 years ago
- 17:11they would change the barrel few and make sure it's working fine.
- 17:13OK. Very cool.
- 17:14You know, I'm curious, are you on any lists around the world
- 17:17where you are scheduled to get the next roll?
- 17:20Of course. So how does that bunch of them?
- 17:22How does that work? I wasn't.
- 17:25Expecting. Give us the secrets.
- 17:27The secret is, like anything in life, relationships.
- 17:29You build a relationship with people.
- 17:31And that's what I did. I build relationships.
- 17:33One of the best ones actually I did was in the airport.
- 17:36Airport people will fly into at Heathrow in London in Terminal 2
- 17:42or B, whatever it's called. There's a Rolex store and I've
- 17:44built a relationship with the people over there.
- 17:46I'm on a WhatsApp group with them.
- 17:47And in order to get to that store, you have to be flying so
- 17:50that because you can't just access it from the street.
- 17:52So in that particular store you can get lucky and there's people
- 17:56usually fly in, pick up their watch and get back on the plane
- 17:58and leave. They'll never leave the airport.
- 18:00There are many people that do that many people from, you know,
- 18:02high end watch people like big buyers and sellers.
- 18:04So this particular airport I I have a great ship and I picked
- 18:07up a couple of watches from. You know, is it weird that I'm
- 18:11utterly bored with a watch conversation?
- 18:14And it's no disrespect to the two of you, You, you go to a a
- 18:17room with 10 people. I think maybe seven or eight
- 18:20people would be very interested in watchers and but for the
- 18:23other two people, it's so cringe worthy because I like, I hate
- 18:27watches. I hate everything about it.
- 18:29I don't want everyone now like I have my cell phone, anything all
- 18:31the time. I look at my phone like that's
- 18:33what a watch means to me. And like I don't see the
- 18:36obsession. I don't get, I don't understand
- 18:38it. And I actually have a little bit
- 18:40of animosity to people who have such an obsession with watches
- 18:44because there's got to be more to life.
- 18:46There's got to be so many more interesting things we could talk
- 18:49about than watches. But watching the two of you,
- 18:51your eyes light. Up people get animated.
- 18:53When you're talking. About very animated about
- 18:55watches. It's absurd though, like it's,
- 18:57it's just a watch. I will.
- 18:58Say, though, in business. In business, I mean, I'm not in
- 19:01business, you know, but in business people tell me they use
- 19:04sports to make conversations. In relationships, watches are
- 19:08better. You can get into a conversation
- 19:11with someone, build a relation with someone based upon watches.
- 19:13Really, 100%? How long can you carry
- 19:15conversations with? Someone no, it's an opener.
- 19:17It's an opener, an opener. Oh, but yo, you like an
- 19:19icebreaker? You go on, you go online on
- 19:20YouTube. There are people you just
- 19:22mentioned one of them who literally make their entire
- 19:24living just making watch video. Actually, people make make up
- 19:27videos, make all livings. That's irrelevant.
- 19:29People are very, very into this thing.
- 19:30I'm not so into it. It's a hobby and a interesting.
- 19:32It makes me a little bit of extra man here, so it keeps me,
- 19:35you know, afloat. But I do love them.
- 19:38Interesting. Yeah, yeah, I know there's a lot
- 19:40of people that are very into this topic and this is like.
- 19:43A The same can be said about so many things.
- 19:44The reason I think why watches work so well is because whatever
- 19:47Lawrence was saying a minute ago is it complements what you're
- 19:49wearing. It's a talking piece, It's a
- 19:51time piece, and it's a living thing.
- 19:53That's on you. That's not working on a battery
- 19:55especially. There's a lot to be said about a
- 19:57watch. I completely disagree with you,
- 19:59but I understand where you're coming from.
- 20:00Yeah. So people that are very into
- 20:02watches, it's more of a status. It's OK, we can move on to the
- 20:04status thing it. Is that too?
- 20:05It's a status everything. Status.
- 20:07Yeah, look at me with my 50,000. I'm sorry to say but this is not
- 20:10my Swatch is definitely nothing but a just colourful nice it's.
- 20:14More than that to you, because I know every time you fly you pick
- 20:17up another watch to remember your trip.
- 20:19Yes, but it's not a status. That was my point.
- 20:21That's. Part of my lifestyle, yes.
- 20:23It's a memory I. I think it's a little nerdy.
- 20:25Honestly, it doesn't tell you the time, but it reminds you of
- 20:28a good time. Exactly, thank you.
- 20:30Say that again to the camera. I'll say that again to the
- 20:32camera. Your Swatch doesn't tell you the
- 20:34time, but it reminds you of a special time that you had in
- 20:37your line. Yes, I think that watches can do
- 20:39that for you just like other articles of clothing perhaps can
- 20:43do it for you as well. You may not resonate with it,
- 20:45but I think a lot of, I mean that's.
- 20:46Why I have a wife reminds me of my wedding.
- 20:48That's the only reason I. My wife always asks me like, you
- 20:53know, we go to weddings. She always without fail turns to
- 20:56me and says, oh, do you remember our wedding?
- 20:58I'm like, no I don't. I really don't.
- 21:00Like my wedding was a blur the whole night.
- 21:02Were you drunk because? I, I, I was a little bit, I'll
- 21:05be honest, I was a little bit, I wasn't drunk, but I, I drank
- 21:07that night. But that's not why I don't
- 21:09remember it. I was just like in a different
- 21:11world. I didn't know what was really
- 21:13going on and it just happened so quickly.
- 21:15When you got. Mad you were also young.
- 21:16I wasn't young. I wasn't young at all.
- 21:18I was. I was 27.
- 21:19Well, I was 27 too. That's not bad, actually.
- 21:21I'm quite old. I think that's a perfect age, by
- 21:23the way. I think that's a perfect age.
- 21:25It's not too. I was like more financially
- 21:27stable by the time I got married.
- 21:28Like I had a job. I had a career path already at
- 21:30that. Point a perfect age for what
- 21:31type of person though? You're saying for, not for.
- 21:33A regular mainstream talking about a regular guy not talking
- 21:35about something. Else well, for religious people,
- 21:39let's be honest, it's more challenging to get married or
- 21:42older. But that do about the men.
- 21:43Women will leave their side, right?
- 21:44Because you know, a clock they're working with.
- 21:47But for a man, difficult, right? Because religious boys show me
- 21:52the gear, right? They're careful what they
- 21:54suppose you look at and what they do.
- 21:56So for a religious person getting married, 27 is.
- 21:59Yeah, little bit later. Interesting point.
- 22:01Yeah, interesting point. I don't.
- 22:02Know if we're going to get into those details, you know?
- 22:05It's not. None of your business, however.
- 22:09However I totally, totally understand what you're saying.
- 22:11I get it. By the way, you are like the
- 22:14marriage expert. You've written books on this
- 22:16stuff. Right.
- 22:16You know, I wrote a book. I wrote a few books.
- 22:19Thanks for mentioning it at Amazon.com.
- 22:21So the first book I wrote was called You Got Question, because
- 22:23when I was growing up, there was a book called the Jewish Book of
- 22:26Why. I don't think it was like one of
- 22:27the few English books. It's actually written by a
- 22:29Conserva doc's rabbi. And it was actually pretty good
- 22:33for the most part, 90% of it was very good.
- 22:35So I approached Feldheim and I said, I want to write a book.
- 22:38So what's needed? Most people say, oh, I have this
- 22:40topic to write this book. I'm like, no, what's needed in
- 22:42the market. So this is going back like 10
- 22:44years. And they said an updated version
- 22:46of that, The Jewish Book of Why short answers like EDD answers
- 22:50to every question in Judaism. So I was like, well, I've been
- 22:52doing this for a long time. So, you know, I write the book.
- 22:54So I read the book, which didn't take me that long because, you
- 22:56know, I answered this question many times.
- 22:59The editing takes time. And then from that book we have,
- 23:01you know, topics on relationships and astrology, you
- 23:04know, and all this kind of stuff, the age of the universe
- 23:06and all the kind of stuff. And now everyone does them.
- 23:08So what happened was from that I found most people interested in
- 23:11the relationship questions. So what I did was I said, ah,
- 23:15let me write another book, which my good friend Elimer
- 23:19Bloomstein, who the owner of Twiller, he actually was working
- 23:21with love founded that he's a marketing genius by the way, and
- 23:25really the most awesome guy in the world.
- 23:27So he's. The guy with the big beard, no.
- 23:29No, he's part of the Thank You Hashem movement.
- 23:31Yeah, he actually created that as well.
- 23:32I'll tell you a little secret. Say it.
- 23:34I probably shouldn't say it, but I happen to know this fact.
- 23:37I'm making the trouble of saying this.
- 23:38You know the Thank you, Hashem. A symbol is a crown with TYH on
- 23:42as a crown. Do you know where he got that
- 23:44from? He told me this because I was
- 23:46there when he thought that up there was a rapper called Biggie
- 23:49or Biggie Smalls or something and that was his symbol and he
- 23:52took it from. That's pretty awesome, I know.
- 23:54What you're talking about, Yeah. Yeah, Biggie Smalls had a crown
- 23:57on his album, and he changed using that crown to turn that
- 24:00into a beautiful. Spiritual.
- 24:02I hope it doesn't mind me say Ellie Malik, I apologize
- 24:04profusely. The guy's a Marxing genius and
- 24:07he so he thought up, you got questions.
- 24:09And then he said, you know this book?
- 24:10I said, well, he said she'd be called Will you marry me?
- 24:13Love it, which is cool. So.
- 24:15I mean, you could do a lot of, you know, plays on that word.
- 24:18You know, Will drew this, you drew that.
- 24:21I mean, it's easy, but. The third book was a machine.
- 24:23Do me a favor. Drew me a favor.
- 24:26That's the next book we could go on all day.
- 24:28Yes. So the third book was on
- 24:29Mashiac. So I went to the publisher and I
- 24:31said. So that's so you're up to the
- 24:32third book. What was the 1st 2 again?
- 24:34So first one, will you marry me the.
- 24:35First one was you got questions, you got the relationships.
- 24:38There's a relationships 'cause that will.
- 24:39You marry me. Most questions in e-mail.
- 24:40How? Did you get to Mashiac?
- 24:42Though so there I was teaching a course in Mashiac and I was
- 24:44getting a lot of questions That was the next level of interest.
- 24:47Like my YouTube videos, they actually follow the the top ones
- 24:50are, well, actually Hebrew reading is probably the top
- 24:53ones. I have a few of those.
- 24:54But then following that, it's Mashiac gets the most views,
- 24:56mostly from the Christian world, right?
- 24:58Not Jews, ironically. And then comes the relationship
- 25:00stuff. So I can tell for the amount of
- 25:02views, I'm like, what's the most popular thing?
- 25:04So then I wrote this book on Meshiach and I said to the
- 25:06publisher, I want to call it Dupocalypse, like an apocalypse,
- 25:10like you apocalypse. And they were like, you're an
- 25:12idiot. So they change it to the future.
- 25:14So that was my third book. The future is kind of a boring
- 25:16title. If we could redo it, I think
- 25:18you. Yeah, I like at.
- 25:20This point I need to once I marry with my kids, I'll have
- 25:22more like the way to do what the.
- 25:23Hell, a lot more books coming out more.
- 25:25Books coming out. So you wrote three books?
- 25:27I wrote three books, yeah. Which is your favorite one?
- 25:29Which is your best one? One in terms of, one in terms of
- 25:31the impact. That you wrote, not the one that
- 25:33you personally like. That you think were.
- 25:34The one that I happens to be the one that didn't sell the most,
- 25:37but the will you marry the relationship one happens to be
- 25:39the best spot in my opinion. And the book is the book is
- 25:42about like just. Dating, it goes through, it goes
- 25:45from dating. I mean, now it's common.
- 25:46Back then it wasn't so common from the dating, the idea of
- 25:49love and relationships, dating to marriage teaches you how to,
- 25:53you know, actually get married, what's involved in it, what's
- 25:55because I've done about 150 weddings I've performed over the
- 25:57years. So I wrote a whole chapter just
- 25:59on what's involved wire, Katuba wire, you know, deck and all
- 26:03that kind of stuff, you know, and then it finishes off with
- 26:06the first year of marriage. And I, I started each chapter
- 26:09interviewing couples, most of whom I actually married, asking
- 26:12them what makes the relationship so good, so important as opposed
- 26:16to a major single people as well, you know, so asking them
- 26:18what they're looking for. It's actually the the interview
- 26:20at the beginning, like the short answer, especially what you're
- 26:22looking for in a partner is actually very interesting.
- 26:24That's probably the best part of the whole chapter, just getting
- 26:26their information of what is it in this book.
- 26:28What's the common answer? There is no common answer.
- 26:31Everyone's different. What do you like the best?
- 26:36Which answers did you like the best?
- 26:39One thing, the one. That resonated well, there's a
- 26:41lot, but the one that resonated with me the most that was
- 26:44successful relationships were people that said what I love
- 26:47about my spouse is that they always listened to me, just
- 26:51stayed in my head. I don't know why I mentioned
- 26:52that, but interesting. They listened to me and they
- 26:54respect that was like the and I think a relationship's the most
- 26:58important thing for a successful marriage and a successful
- 27:00marriage is really people you got to respect your spouse, you
- 27:03know? Interesting.
- 27:05You know on the topic of weddings, I don't know if you
- 27:08guys feel the same about this. I happened to be bored at
- 27:11weddings. I feel like it's the same thing
- 27:14over you. Weren't bored at your wedding?
- 27:15Were. You no, no, my wedding.
- 27:16I don't remember it. I don't remember it, but I I
- 27:18attend weddings. I attended one last week.
- 27:21I I find the whole thing to be now that I've attended so many
- 27:25cliche, like a little kind of boring, like it's very
- 27:29procedural. You know, you do the chopper in
- 27:31the beginning, then they have the meal, then the first dance.
- 27:34Like I don't know, let's say me, I attended.
- 27:36I don't want to, God forbid, you know, compare a Jewish wedding
- 27:39to a non Jewish wedding. But I only went to a non Jewish
- 27:40wedding once in my life. I went to a non Jewish wedding.
- 27:43Not yours. I'm somebody clear.
- 27:47Yes, to be very clear, it was not mine.
- 27:50And when I went to this, this wedding, I have to tell you, it
- 27:53was quite entertaining. It was a party.
- 27:56It was a party and everybody was having a good time.
- 27:59I feel like at the Jewish weddings, it's very serious and
- 28:01I get it. It's a holy matrimony and it's a
- 28:03big deal, but I think we've gotta like, you know, get rid of
- 28:07times a little bit perhaps. And pushy.
- 28:09I'm telling you something very important.
- 28:10I do weddings after many and most people I marry are not
- 28:13religious people because they also want a Jewish wedding with
- 28:15a Jewish ceremony. So I've done all different types
- 28:17of Jews, but mostly secular Jews.
- 28:19I make my weddings that I perform extremely entertaining I
- 28:24make. Them funny, I like that little.
- 28:26Vignettes, little 32nd pieces. Wahhopa.
- 28:29Right? Why are we using 1?
- 28:30I actually turn it into an educational.
- 28:33Informative experience and I make an.
- 28:34Engagement jokes, I did a wedding of a couple.
- 28:36He was actually Italian. She was actually printed out
- 28:39right from online a whole speech in Italian and I did the whole
- 28:43speech in Italian of the whole past.
- 28:45So his family like whoa. And he got a signor right or not
- 28:48signor right. Very good that I've been
- 28:50fantastic, you know, so I made it very, very, very fun.
- 28:53So I actually do what is that? And I have to agree with you.
- 28:56I think you go to a religious weddings, they huddle, the
- 28:58robber doesn't talk. You know what they're saying,
- 28:59You're belly at the bracha. It's not.
- 29:01It's not not enjoyable. But when I do.
- 29:03It's very traditional I I can appreciate.
- 29:05It I make the bride and groom, which I always do, except once
- 29:08they wouldn't do it. I always make them face the
- 29:11audience. You can see their reactions.
- 29:12They want to see the Hassan Nagala.
- 29:13Don't they always face the audience?
- 29:15Not always to have that back towards them, sometimes they're
- 29:17surrounded by people who can't see them.
- 29:19Safard them for example. Face them.
- 29:21Right. Yeah, right.
- 29:22Sometimes. Not every single wedding.
- 29:24They don't face the audience. We don't have that back towards
- 29:26the audience and the rabbis facing this.
- 29:28Yucky is additionally not face. There you go, they face.
- 29:31Yeah, as many people. Are Yankees are very special
- 29:33breeds, very special people. So we're not going to, you know,
- 29:37go by what Yankees do. But in general, like regular
- 29:39people, you know, we face the crowd.
- 29:41That's how we're like, I see them.
- 29:42I look for sure people regular. But I also face the crowd as
- 29:45well. I meet the Hasanakala face at an
- 29:47angle and I face the crowd, so they see me.
- 29:49So the people who want to see, they want to see.
- 29:50Expressions I do have to tell you, you know, I bet that non
- 29:54Jewish people say the same thing.
- 29:56I've been to one wedding. What am I going to do?
- 29:57Go back to the bar? Back to dancing is very wrong.
- 30:00Over and over again, very wrong. Non Jewish people look forward
- 30:02to weddings. I'm not sure.
- 30:03I've spoken to many friends that are non Jewish and always when
- 30:06it comes to a wedding, it's party time and everybody's
- 30:08excited. They can't wait for the next.
- 30:10One but what they don't have what they don't have in my
- 30:12opinion is the spiritual component of a wedding which you
- 30:15have a Jewish wedding. So I think that from now on when
- 30:18you go to a wedding, just try to find the spiritual part of it,
- 30:21go to the Krupa thinking that this is a very special, serious
- 30:24moment where you can dive in for someone, you can pray for
- 30:27someone, you can use that as a moment.
- 30:29And I agree with you, by the way, it's very repetitive these
- 30:31weddings. That's why I try to come for
- 30:32certain times. I also like to go to the the
- 30:35room of the groom and the bride, you know, and try to eat from
- 30:38them because sometimes the food takes forever to come out, you
- 30:40know, So if they. Don't worry, you go into the Oh
- 30:43yeah, their food. Oh yeah, before them.
- 30:44No, no, no, of course, no after them.
- 30:46They don't even touch the food. I don't know what they do in
- 30:48there, but they definitely don't touch the food.
- 30:50Because my wife was eating in the head.
- 30:52Really, really you ate. You have a special meal at your.
- 30:56In the you. Could.
- 30:57Yeah. And you're.
- 30:58Yeah. Did you?
- 30:58We had food, whatever for us. I don't think I ate, but I'm
- 31:01just. Going to say when I go to a
- 31:02wedding I enjoy the music. You're into music.
- 31:05I enjoy the spirituality of the Hupa.
- 31:06I really believe it's it's very meaningful at a time to pray.
- 31:10I I enjoy the seeing of the grandparents and the enjoyment
- 31:14that they have. I actually pay attention to it.
- 31:16So when I go, those are the things that I.
- 31:17Absolutely want funny wedding. So I've done many, many
- 31:19weddings. I'm I'm lost count at this
- 31:21point, but I have all documented at home.
- 31:23I said one of the first weddings I did and performing a wedding
- 31:26when I do them, it's because I'm doing everything I don't have,
- 31:29you know, one person helping call out names and stuff.
- 31:31I got sheets of paper and when I first thought there's a lot
- 31:33going on, you've got the cup to break, you got the Tullids
- 31:35because all this kind of stuff. So it was one of the first
- 31:38weddings I ever did of a young guy and got actually met on one
- 31:40of my trips. I had a premonition which I've
- 31:43never had before and I've never had since.
- 31:45But while she was walking down to the hopper, I had a
- 31:47premonition that she was going to faint under the hopper.
- 31:51It was the weirdest thing though, much so that when she
- 31:54arrived under the hopper, I actually said to, are you OK?
- 31:56You feeling? Yeah, I feel fine.
- 31:57So she didn't March around. And I'm welcoming everyone while
- 32:00she's doing it because I speak during the process.
- 32:02There's music playing, but I speak, I explain she's marching
- 32:04around and she's surrounding her husband.
- 32:06So it goes through and I kind of put it out of my mind because if
- 32:10you keep thinking of it, you freak out.
- 32:11And I'm I was very inexperienced and I didn't know what was going
- 32:14on. I drained the hopper.
- 32:17I really was very hot under the hopper.
- 32:18I do remember that from behind me while I'm in the middle of
- 32:22like speaking, I hear and her mother collapsed faints under
- 32:30the hopper and I just managed to catch her as she hits the floor.
- 32:34This is on video by the way. I managed to catch her, which
- 32:37hits the floor. And I turn around to the
- 32:39audience and I'm like, is there a doctor here?
- 32:43Not one doctor at a Jewish wedding.
- 32:46Can you believe it? That's a crime, is that?
- 32:47Lawyers. Yeah, account is plenty.
- 32:50Not one doctor. And then one guy puts a hand and
- 32:52says I'm a dental nurse. Like her teeth are fine if you
- 32:56fainted. Then we get a.
- 32:59Chair that is surprising. No doctors at a Jewish wedding.
- 33:02What? A Chances.
- 33:03Come on, So you bring a chair. We sit her down.
- 33:05So the husband starts getting frustrated, so he starts
- 33:07slapping her. It was like a.
- 33:08Whole it sounds like a comedy sketch it.
- 33:11Literally was a comedy sketch. And I'm like, I don't know too,
- 33:14but you've got to keep going. The show must go on.
- 33:16So I turned around to the girl and I said what should I do?
- 33:18And she looked at me. She's like drift on with it.
- 33:22Carla. In her dress, that is funny.
- 33:25Finish it off. And that was it.
- 33:27She actually had got drunk. The bride's mother got drunk
- 33:30beforehand and. Oh, that's what it was.
- 33:31Well, that's embarrassing. You, you didn't happen to have
- 33:33drinks with her beforehand, having that permission coming,
- 33:36you know? Speaking of which, I know that
- 33:38you believe very much in dreams and I and I know this is
- 33:43something that you take seriously, very seriously.
- 33:45I'd like, I'd like to ask you about that.
- 33:47Wow. I'm surprised you asked me that.
- 33:48I from the questions I get asked, probably the most
- 33:51questions I get asked because I'm a lot of WhatsApp groups
- 33:53where they ask questions and stuff and calls and stuff.
- 33:57The biggest thing is Mushiya and the End of Days.
- 33:59That's the most questions I get from people, which we'll discuss
- 34:01soon, but people ask me that dreams all the time, so much so
- 34:05I'm not kidding you. Next to my bed, on my bedside
- 34:08table, I have books that I'm reading at at any given moment.
- 34:11And I have an amazing book on dreams which I have next to me.
- 34:15Like this one is I was recommended by Rabi Tatz many
- 34:17years ago. He said this is one of the best
- 34:18ones. So I actually referred to that.
- 34:20And it's helped me like understand dreams a lot more.
- 34:24And I put a chapter about dreams in my first book.
- 34:27And that gets a lot of Commons where people are very interested
- 34:29in it. And I get questions literally
- 34:31every day from people. I had a dream that I was flying.
- 34:33I had a dream my teeth fall out. What does that mean?
- 34:36I dreamt about my grandmother. I personally have a lot of, you
- 34:39know, such dreams about my my wife never dreams about her, her
- 34:42deceased grandparents. But I have been visited more,
- 34:46whatever that means, in dreams by them.
- 34:50Animals seeing people. Wow.
- 34:54Yeah. It's AI don't remember my
- 34:56dreams. I don't.
- 34:57You don't. Remember your dream, no.
- 34:58Ever. You've never had a dream that
- 34:59you're very rarely. Maybe on occasion I'll remember
- 35:02a dream for a few minutes. Only parts of it, but for the
- 35:04most part, no. I don't remember my dream.
- 35:06When you wake up, you don't. And by the way, if I do remember
- 35:08my dream, I think nothing of it. I move on.
- 35:10It was just a dream and I. Never had a dream where you woke
- 35:12up in the morning or she and you're like, wow, you never had
- 35:15that before in your life. Very rarely, and I don't think
- 35:18I'm alone on this. I think most people don't
- 35:19remember their dreams. I don't know.
- 35:20I mean I I have AI, have dreams that I remember not a lot, but I
- 35:23have many. Dreams after your.
- 35:25And then you have questions, you have follow-ups on your dream I.
- 35:28Mean some of them are nerve wracking like Oh my God, I can't
- 35:30believe I just dreamt about that some of them are like odd like
- 35:32how was I in Italy and then I was in Brooklyn like you know
- 35:34like. It's not too far cause a lot of
- 35:36Italians in. Brooklyn.
- 35:37That's true, but I'm saying there are some.
- 35:39Yeah. Have you dreamt about your Both
- 35:41your parents have passed on your mother very well.
- 35:43Have they visited you in a dream ever?
- 35:45Not as much as I'd like to, but it's happened more than once,
- 35:48yes. Well, that's just the
- 35:49manifestation of your. Own subconscious, that's not a
- 35:52real thing. You know you, you could be that
- 35:54you're questioning. Do you believe that your mother
- 35:56or father or somebody you know deceased actually visited you?
- 36:00Me personally, yeah. You believe that it was
- 36:02actually. Bad.
- 36:03Do you believe that? And they came and sent a message
- 36:05to you and they were really talking to you.
- 36:06Well, they never they were a real part of they.
- 36:08Don't need to speak to you, but they've made me to dream.
- 36:10I get very emotional. Yeah.
- 36:12And now I've heard many stories of many people that have had
- 36:14information. It's been related to them in
- 36:16dreams especially. Get ready for this Sephardic
- 36:19woman. When a Sephardic woman calls me
- 36:21up or writes me and says I had a dream about something or
- 36:23someone, I listen. I think it very seriously.
- 36:27Give us an example. What do you what do?
- 36:29You, like some girl told me she came to sit with me and my wife
- 36:33and she had a dream that her grandfather had told us
- 36:37something in a dream and she basically investigated away and
- 36:41end up becoming very, very true. And she was able to release some
- 36:44information to someone else that I think you could say save their
- 36:47life based upon what she heard from her grandfather, someone
- 36:50else in her family that she'd never spoken to for a long time.
- 36:54This is common. You'll be surprised how many
- 36:56you'll look common. The amount of questions I get on
- 36:59it, it must be. I read this in storybooks.
- 37:01I read this. In I, there's a there's a
- 37:03Gamora. The Gamora speaks about it.
- 37:04There's. AI believe in the power of
- 37:06dreams. I definitely do believe.
- 37:07I don't believe today it means as much as it used to or why
- 37:10would you say meaning? It's hard to relate to what it
- 37:13means. I don't believe that we have
- 37:14people that can have the power to translate a dream like they
- 37:17used to. I I had a dream so that Gamora
- 37:21speaks about, if you dream about having a singer snake in your
- 37:23dream, you would have thoughts. A bad sign, such a very good
- 37:26sign. And you're going to make money
- 37:28if you dream that the snake bites you.
- 37:30Now that is even it means you're gonna make a lot of money.
- 37:34But if you dream that you kill the snake in your dream, that's
- 37:38already bad. It means you're gonna lose your
- 37:39money. There's a whole Gemara on this
- 37:40in, in in Brahat. So I have many people ask these
- 37:44questions. I actually dreamt that I killed
- 37:46the snake in my dream. I saw my bill.
- 37:48Don't kill the snake. Whatever you do, don't kill the
- 37:53snake in your dream. And I dreamt that I go snake.
- 37:55And soon after I actually lost a lot of money.
- 37:58It's actually. Terrible.
- 37:59And it was the money lost was out of my control, like totally
- 38:02out of my control. It was a company that something
- 38:05had happened to it which happened to invest a little bit
- 38:07of in. Look, I can't prove it to you,
- 38:09but I do know that many people take it very seriously and ask
- 38:12me a lot of questions about stuff they see in the dreams
- 38:14Animals. My my great uncle was writing a
- 38:17book with his dad and his dad passed away and they couldn't
- 38:21finish the book. And he was praying all year for
- 38:24to to get the answer to the finish up the book.
- 38:27And sure enough, his father came to him in a dream and he
- 38:31finished the book in through the dream and every everything was
- 38:35recorded. And then it was brought to some
- 38:37very, very significant high holy rabbis in Israel who confirmed
- 38:41that what he had given over was accurate.
- 38:44Wow. And it was very interesting
- 38:46documented. And I'm sure a lot of these
- 38:47dreams are documented. Yes.
- 38:49Is she? We believe in the power of
- 38:51dreams. Now, not all dreams.
- 38:52Some dreams are just your mind, kind of.
- 38:54Process, of course. You saw it in the day I dreamt
- 38:57about something, but that day I saw a movie and that thing was
- 39:00in it then I think it then it's almost a right.
- 39:02Paging Rabbi Hedgerhoff and Michael, back to Earth, the two
- 39:07of you. And now that we're sitting here.
- 39:10But by the way, this is real. What's happening right now?
- 39:12Yes, this is absolutely. Let me ask you, how do you know
- 39:14about this? This is real.
- 39:16I had a dream last night and I was convinced that was real.
- 39:18So how can you tell me that this is real?
- 39:20Maybe this is a dream too, Maybe all of life.
- 39:22Maybe that's why God could have dreams, so that we could turn
- 39:25around and be like, well, how do we know this is real?
- 39:29Have you ever watched the movie called Inception?
- 39:32I have seen the. Movie.
- 39:33You have seen the movie. Yeah.
- 39:34OK. It's totally about this, by the
- 39:35way. That's exactly what it's about
- 39:37is you know what is real? Like if dreams aren't real.
- 39:40But while you're having the dream, you're convinced that's
- 39:41real. So how do you know this is real?
- 39:43And then you could go from 1 dream into the next dream and
- 39:45into the next dream and it's endless, right?
- 39:47So you never really know. Look, you're right.
- 39:49I don't know what's really real, what's not real, but I'm going
- 39:53to choose to. I got to believe something is
- 39:55real. I got to believe in something.
- 39:56This to me is real. The rest of the stuff which I
- 40:00want to talk about, you know the main topic of the day, which is
- 40:03Mashiach. I don't want to say that I don't
- 40:05believe in Mashiac because I'd be a pretty bad person and a bad
- 40:08truth. I said that and I'm on a ear, so
- 40:09I don't want everybody to hear that and take, oh, she doesn't
- 40:11believe in Mashiac. I want to talk about the regular
- 40:14person, the average person, the person who's flawed and needs
- 40:18to, you know, improve on themselves and needs to always
- 40:21strive to believe more and to believe better because I want to
- 40:24believe. I deeply, deeply want to
- 40:26believe. I think everything would be
- 40:28better if I can believe more, but I have a struggle not
- 40:32necessarily to believe, but to understand and to comprehend
- 40:36what this whole topic of Mashiach really means.
- 40:39Because in my mind, I think, OK, my small mind, I think that it
- 40:44could be very metaphoric in a way that there's an end that's
- 40:47coming and we labeled it as mashiach and the end could be
- 40:50different for a lot of people. Doesn't have to be the same
- 40:52thing. But I really also don't think
- 40:54everybody knows. I think that everybody has a lot
- 40:56of opinions on this. If you ask one person and the
- 40:58next person, you get two different stories and everybody
- 41:01and real people, important people, really, you know,
- 41:03important rabbis that you know, they give their version and
- 41:05somebody else gives their version.
- 41:06But I would say that the average person you would poll truly deep
- 41:10down doesn't understand what's going on with Mushiya.
- 41:13It's a fascinating topic. I would love to believe in it
- 41:16because how do you live a life without actually believing in an
- 41:19end? I mean, how do you the path is
- 41:21so much more difficult if you don't know where you're landing,
- 41:24right? So I would love to believe.
- 41:25It would make me no more happier to believe and Michelle and
- 41:30anything else. So for me, I'd love to hear more
- 41:32about this. Topic we we were part by the
- 41:33way, our company was part a sponsor in a movie, a
- 41:36documentary that Beryl Solomon just.
- 41:38Came which I did not want to be a part of.
- 41:39OK, let's remember we did it though.
- 41:41I know I know. I I walked away because I to me
- 41:44this doesn't resonate with me this topic.
- 41:46I'm sorry to admit this. I'm a little bit of it's OK, it
- 41:49makes sense. I believe in that.
- 41:50I believe deep down this concept, but I don't understand
- 41:53it and I don't and I think other people who pretend like they
- 41:55understand it. I think they're just giving
- 41:57themselves something that makes them feel better.
- 41:59Well, my point was to watch the documentary, read the books the
- 42:04future and others and study it. Meaning this topic is a very
- 42:08very excited. We went, we went, we went
- 42:10together because I was actually in the movie.
- 42:12You went. Yeah, you were in the movie.
- 42:13Actually in the movie. Yeah, he was in the he was.
- 42:15He was one of the people that was asked the question, what is
- 42:18Michelle? It wasn't for long.
- 42:19Put the diver, put the guy for an hour and a half, he put like
- 42:212 1/2 minutes in and Robbie Lawrence next to each other.
- 42:24I'd love to hear how you will address what she's saying.
- 42:27I just want to say before you say anything that you know, the
- 42:30Mashiach concept is spoken about daily by the group called
- 42:34Chabad, right? So yeah, they made.
- 42:36Famous they they glorified this or they glorified and maybe,
- 42:39maybe watered down a. Little I was about to say, but
- 42:41it could be also they tainted it for others in a way that don't
- 42:44understand it because if you walk, if you drive down the West
- 42:47side highway and you see a sign that says Mashiach is here and
- 42:51you look around what he's not actually here.
- 42:54So you're like, ah, OK, what's this whole Mashiach thing And I
- 42:55get where your struggle is coming from but I do want to say
- 42:59that the struggle is real. It's very, I, I actually applaud
- 43:02the fact that you're talking about it and you're questioning
- 43:04it because I do want to tell you that ultimately it is a belief
- 43:08system that we have, but the belief goes back to writings and
- 43:11teachings that we have for thousands of years.
- 43:13And I'll kick it off to my. Friend but let's just crunch it
- 43:17down yeah first of all you're saying I'm going to validate it
- 43:20you're right I grew up going to very high radio chief as they
- 43:22don't talk about this stuff they don't make it part of the limit
- 43:25thing they'll finish it about Torah and Bezos the show right
- 43:27we'll have you know base of marriage been here in my main
- 43:30when we you know that was the end of it.
- 43:32You know, where children were not so interested, leaving aside
- 43:35Khabad, Khabad introduced it because the Babbage Revi sort of
- 43:38was missing. So he made it one of the
- 43:40fundamental, the influences we need to put into our lives.
- 43:44I actually use the Habad Hamish every shop.
- 43:46It's a beautiful one actually. And.
- 43:48You have to plug that more. I'm sorry.
- 43:50That is my favorite Hamish and it helps me it.
- 43:52Really is happening. It really is.
- 43:53Every single shop there is a brown well known Hamish and now
- 43:57they have a version in blue and it's written by Habad and they
- 44:00take the story of the Hamish of the Torah and they write it and
- 44:04they haven't bold the words that are being told in the Torah but
- 44:07not in bold. They have the storyline.
- 44:10Right. They interpolate it, which means
- 44:11while you're reading the English, it's not just an
- 44:12English translation, it's also a description, explanation.
- 44:15What system? A lot more read.
- 44:17Every Shabbos when when I'm listening to the Torah, instead
- 44:20of listening it and reading it, the Hebrew words I'm following
- 44:23along with either a brown or a blue Khamesh given and created
- 44:26by Chabad. Kudos to them.
- 44:28And I really, really everyone should have it so.
- 44:30Leaving that aside for just a second, there is an idea which
- 44:33is central to Judaism, but it is a belief.
- 44:36It's a belief because it hasn't happened yet, OK?
- 44:38Although those who follow my staff will know that we are
- 44:41seeing very clear signs without a shadow of a doubt that we're
- 44:44in the cusp, right? We're in the transition phase
- 44:47phase from before Mushiyaf, after Mushiyaf.
- 44:49But they're not just Jews, right?
- 44:50The Goyim, the Christians, and even the Muslims are very into
- 44:53this topic. Actually, if you want to
- 44:54understand what's happening in the Middle East today, you need
- 44:56to understand Iran because they're funding all their
- 45:01proxies, Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthis in order to attack us.
- 45:05And they are actually an Islamist, jihadi, messianic
- 45:09death cult. So they also, I know it sounds
- 45:12crazy, but they are also into this topic.
- 45:14Obviously they're getting it wrong.
- 45:16So what's the Jewish view? So there's two ways to just
- 45:19download this topic very quickly into your brain.
- 45:21And that is the view of the Rambam and those who follow him.
- 45:24And that's more rationalistic, which is there's going to be a
- 45:27time when the Jewish people are going to be able to return to
- 45:30the land of Israel. And this is from the prophets.
- 45:32There's a lot written on Mushiya.
- 45:33There's very little written on Tresamassim, resurrection of the
- 45:37dead. So that's another topic which is
- 45:38going to follow Mushiya. But Mushiya, there's a lot
- 45:40written on it. There's tons written on it.
- 45:42Right. Yeah, in the V in Prophets, you
- 45:44have Gomorrahs, right? Roshan, Makharam, everyone
- 45:46writes about it. So the Rumbam basically says the
- 45:48world's going to carry on as is. And the Jewish bit are going to
- 45:51return to Israel, which we've been seeing for the past 50-60
- 45:55years and even more. And we're going to be living
- 45:57safely in our land with no more war, which is tough to see, but
- 45:59right, right now. And we're going to be at peace.
- 46:03And royalty is going to return. Meshiach is a king.
- 46:06Actually. Mashiach doesn't mean saviour.
- 46:08Ask most Jewish people, a religious one.
- 46:10What does mashiach mean? He's a saviour?
- 46:11It's not what he is. Mashiach means to anoint, which
- 46:14is to pour something on something else to make it
- 46:17special. The prophet would do, he would
- 46:19take oil, olive oil, put it into a horn, and he would pour it
- 46:23into the sheep of a crown on the head of the future king.
- 46:26It's like Shmuel Samuel did to Davre Melech and that made him
- 46:29into king. That's what it means, the
- 46:31anointing of the special. The word mashiach doesn't even
- 46:33refer specifically to Mashiac as we understand it, right.
- 46:37There are konim called Mashiac. There's a kon mashiac, right?
- 46:40So there's many different jobs. It means a a position of great
- 46:42leadership. So we're gonna have a great
- 46:44leader. By the way, you already kind of
- 46:47made me feel a little bit better, like I'm, you know, you
- 46:50trying to download into my brain just by that, just by that
- 46:53alone, I'm 1% feeling better. Keep going.
- 46:56I thought Mashiac really means that's what I thought.
- 46:59I thought Mushiya is like a savior who's going to come and
- 47:01is a magic wand and is going to change the whole world and
- 47:04everything's going to be upended.
- 47:05And it's like you're saying no, no, things are going to be
- 47:07regular and it's going to be an anointed king.
- 47:10It's going to be someone who's going to come and it's going to
- 47:12be a leader, correct? So more.
- 47:13Realistic. He's more realistic.
- 47:15It's sounding much more down to earth.
- 47:17And by the way, the Ramam describes it that way, and I'm
- 47:19pleased you're you're being very honest, which I appreciate.
- 47:22Most people have this idea, but the idea we have of Mushiya
- 47:25unfortunately comes to Christianity, right?
- 47:27There's some super being who's like God, or in that case, is
- 47:30God OK? Not at all.
- 47:31He's going to be a normal man, flesh and blood challenges.
- 47:34He's going to be selected as the king of the Jewish people.
- 47:37We're going to return to Israel and the 3rd and final temple is
- 47:40going to be built Anhara Bias right on Temple Mount English
- 47:44Light and the Jewish people are going to return and we're all
- 47:47going to live there. It's going to take a long time
- 47:49for that. All of us, every Jew, is going
- 47:51to move back to Israel. There is even a Machlocus over
- 47:53there. Some say no, some say it will
- 47:55take a long time and just think about taking.
- 47:58I mean, by the way, we have half the Jewish people in Israel
- 48:01right now. We're just under the halfway
- 48:03mark. El Al is ready.
- 48:05Ben Gurion is not big enough. There's going to be some
- 48:07expansion, but we're ready. We're ready.
- 48:10It's a process. It takes time.
- 48:12I know we're told as soon as you wake up and she acts here and
- 48:14everything's going to be great. That's not true.
- 48:16You see, but that's what they did.
- 48:17They really dumbed it down to a point of it's like a fairy tale.
- 48:21They put it into a little children's storybook, and that's
- 48:23the version they gave us. And that's what we have to
- 48:25believe. And now I choose not to believe
- 48:27in that because now I'm older and it sounds like a fairy tale,
- 48:29but you're now actually taking it down to a, you know, really
- 48:33explaining it. And the first thing you said,
- 48:35I'm already liking it, so I'd like to hear more.
- 48:36OK. So we're seeing more for the
- 48:37past 70 years and more from the first Alliot in the early 1900s,
- 48:41first and 2nd Alliot all the way when Sinism was founded.
- 48:44And we're seeing this movement of Jewish people living in the
- 48:47land of Israel, right, in order to come close to God and to have
- 48:51a better life over there. Rush.
- 48:52He tells us based upon the words of David Amela that when you see
- 48:56Yerushalaim is packed with Jews Bonese Yerushalaim, right?
- 49:01When you see Yerushalaim is built up nitrasal, the kindness
- 49:04the Jews people are going to return.
- 49:05When you see Yerushalaim is so full, like the benyahuda air of
- 49:08Shabbos, right? And you walk it, you can barely
- 49:10make your way through. The ghoul is at hand.
- 49:13There's an idea, the Jewish people, and this is an ancient
- 49:15idea. I'm not making it up.
- 49:16Jewish people are going to return to the land of Israel and
- 49:18we're going to live safely in the land.
- 49:20That's that's basically the idea.
- 49:22Sounds wonderful, but right sounds amazing.
- 49:23OK, the idea of I mean, just think there's a lot of
- 49:26consequences to this. Imagine that there's no more war
- 49:28in the world, which is one of the basic premises of Azai the
- 49:31prophet and others. The right about this.
- 49:33No more war. Think about all the money that
- 49:35is spent on weaponry. What is that in the?
- 49:37Number Shah Khans. This isn't the perfect world.
- 49:40They come and they're now the leader is here and all the Jews
- 49:43have congregated in the land of Israel.
- 49:44What happens to the rest of the world?
- 49:46Where are the rest of the nations?
- 49:47Question what? What are they doing?
- 49:48Right now, so they, what most people think is everyone becomes
- 49:51Jewish there can't because someone's got to buy retail,
- 49:54right? So we can't have that.
- 49:56We can't have that. You know what I'm saying?
- 49:58But the world carries on as is, but everyone, this is a big
- 50:00difference. And just imagine this, just try
- 50:02to download this one piece. The entire world believes in the
- 50:06one true God of Israel. They don't become Jewish.
- 50:08They're fine as they are. They need to become Jewish now.
- 50:10They don't need to become Jewish now.
- 50:11They're fine as they are. Unlike Christianity and Islam
- 50:14that you need to accept Jesus, right, or Muhammad is your
- 50:17prophet in order to, you know, go to Allahabad, get to heaven,
- 50:20they're going to Judaism. You're fine as you are.
- 50:22You don't need to. And so they'll be living around
- 50:24the world carrying on, but they'll be living with a much
- 50:26higher level of God consciousness, whatever that
- 50:29means. So the.
- 50:32This to me sounds a little bit strange.
- 50:33One second, if I'm not a Jew and I'm living in Arizona and
- 50:38Mashiach is here and I'm hearing all about this amazing story of
- 50:41this, this the Judaism is the real religion.
- 50:44Look, I mean, look at all the miraculous things that are
- 50:46happening. But are anything miraculous
- 50:47happening? OK, so.
- 50:48Because if I was Arizona and I'm a non Jew, I'm like, Oh my God,
- 50:52I want to be a part of this missing out.
- 50:54I'm missing. But I'm in the wrong.
- 50:55I'm in the wrong religion here. Like why would they just sit
- 50:58idly by around just watching all this happen, being content?
- 51:01OK, that's a great question. As I, the prophet goes fast to
- 51:04say they're going to stream to Israel to see this great king,
- 51:07right? Because they're going to be, I
- 51:08mean, right now they're obsessed with Israel and the Jews.
- 51:10Look at Russia and Ukraine right now.
- 51:11No one's talking about that. It's all about Jews.
- 51:13And, you know, we accidentally kill a couple of civilians and
- 51:15we become the top news. So we have been the epicenter of
- 51:18information and news for hundreds, if not thousands of
- 51:20years. So us being the epicenter
- 51:23shouldn't surprise you too much. But they're fine.
- 51:26And they will come to visit as evidence is going to happen more
- 51:28and more and more. But they're going to carry on
- 51:30their lives. And there'll be no more
- 51:32religions, no more Islam, Christianity or even Judaism as
- 51:36we know it. It's going to change and it's
- 51:38going to be better. That is the basic principle of
- 51:40Jewish faith, This. Is very broad from what you just
- 51:43said to me. This is you were you were almost
- 51:45evading my question. OK, because and maybe there
- 51:47isn't an answer to this, but it sounds to me that there isn't
- 51:50going to be a day at least you're not telling me this where
- 51:53it's going to be clearest day to the world that the Jews and and
- 51:57the God were the Jews were the chosen people.
- 51:59Yes it was. And there were the one true
- 52:01religion. Yeah.
- 52:01And there wasn't going to be that day.
- 52:02There is 100% going to be that. Day there is going to be that
- 52:05day. 100%. So if that's if that's going to
- 52:06happen. That's a.
- 52:07That's a process. It's a process.
- 52:10It's like go to college. Are you saying there's going to
- 52:12be a day when I finally graduate my certificate?
- 52:14Yeah, but there's a process to get to that.
- 52:15Point. So Mashiac is not the end of it
- 52:18all. Mashiac is a process in
- 52:20divulging that. That's great, and that's going
- 52:23to take time. That process actually began a
- 52:25while ago, when we can discuss. Do you think we're already
- 52:28somewhat not? Even a question.
- 52:30Time right now. Everyone feels it.
- 52:32Everyone feels. Not just Jews.
- 52:34The whole world feels. A big change is going to come to
- 52:37the world. They're feeling it.
- 52:39Okay, then I was misled my whole life as I'm sure a lot of people
- 52:43and I'm very. Upset with Mr. I'm very mad
- 52:45educate because I let my whole life thinking that there's going
- 52:47to be this grandocious aha moment.
- 52:50It's going to be like the magic trick is being revealed, right?
- 52:52The door opens and it's like I'm in, right?
- 52:55And it's all. That's what I was told.
- 52:56That's what I was told. That's what I thought it was.
- 52:58What you're saying is, no, no, no, it's totally not that.
- 53:00And I was lied to, by the way. I was lied to because this is
- 53:03what they teach us. They do teach us a little bit
- 53:05about this. Yeah.
- 53:05And this is what they tell us. What's going to happen one day
- 53:08I'm a Chef is going to show up and the whole world is going to
- 53:11go poof and everything's going to change and it's all going to
- 53:13be amazing. Not true.
- 53:14It's a process. It's going to take time, but
- 53:16this realization will come to them and it's going to be at
- 53:19different stages. I mean, we live in a world right
- 53:21now where I can share information that spreads
- 53:24throughout the entire world in one moment, right?
- 53:26That's an amazing thing. So the information will be
- 53:27shared. Used to take a long time to go
- 53:29to the newspapers and information and letters, but now
- 53:32it's going to happen very, very quickly.
- 53:33But Even so, it's going to take time for that to happen.
- 53:36Now I want to add another layer to this is a lot more to say,
- 53:38add another layer that one of Michelle's jobs that people
- 53:41don't really want to talk about is he's a military leader.
- 53:44Kings, to be honest, and we think it was great rabbis where
- 53:48they actually were, were political leaders, right?
- 53:50The real spiritual leaders were the Kohanim and the Naveen.
- 53:53Well, the, the Naveen, the prophets were more the
- 53:55visionary. That's why most of the battles
- 53:57in the Bible and Tanakh are between the kings and the
- 54:01prophets, right, The Malachim and Naveen.
- 54:03Why? Because the king is a political
- 54:05leader. We need to overtake that country
- 54:06right now. We need to defend our we have
- 54:08the souls. We need to do that and the
- 54:09prophet comes along because if you do that, this is going to
- 54:12happen in the future. The visionary.
- 54:13That's why so many prophets were killed by Jewish kings.
- 54:17So the, the job of the king is a physical leader.
- 54:19So one of the jobs he's going to have to do, the rumba mentions
- 54:21this and the laws of kings, which makes sense.
- 54:23That's that's the place to talk about Mushiya.
- 54:25You don't talk about Mushiya anywhere.
- 54:26It's the laws of kings. It's kingship.
- 54:28Royalty is going to return to the Jewish people is to prove
- 54:31that he is Mushiya as well as his job as Mushiya is to fight
- 54:36the wars of God. We're going to have wars that
- 54:38are going to take place in and around Jerusalem in Israel.
- 54:41Now, we have not had that for thousands of years with the
- 54:45government in Israel, which the prophets speak about.
- 54:48So that's happening now as well. And there's going to be a final
- 54:52battle, which I'm sure you've heard of before, called Gog and
- 54:54Magog, which has become extremely popular.
- 54:56Talk about my videos that get the most views.
- 54:58Gog and Magog is the final battle.
- 54:59And Mushiya is somehow going to be, we don't know how he's going
- 55:03to be involved in that final battle to remove the world of
- 55:05evil. Evil is going to disappear.
- 55:10Look, this is amazing. And it, it, it sounds great.
- 55:14It really does. And I, I really hope that this
- 55:17is what it's going to be. But it's you're throwing a lot
- 55:19at me right now. Like, this is really hard to
- 55:21process, you know, all at once. And like a part of me is
- 55:24thinking, all right, so I guess Bibi Netanyahu is the king right
- 55:27now. Like, are you telling me that
- 55:29right now it's actually transacting where we're actively
- 55:32in middle of Moschinak and the wars are taking place?
- 55:35It's all a part of this plan. Like I thought Michelle has to
- 55:38be unanimous. Like everybody's going to know.
- 55:41Ever met it sounds. Like it's gonna be.
- 55:42Have you met all the people or she agree on something
- 55:44immediately? No, I mean even you're sure that
- 55:46open the winner, close the winner, AC on, AC off on 68 or
- 55:5072. There's nothing in the Jewish
- 55:51world, right? Which becomes clear straight
- 55:54away. It's a process and that's OK.
- 55:56Doesn't have to be overnight. I know we want immediate answers
- 55:58to everything, but it doesn't go to work.
- 56:00It doesn't. Have a lot about Michelle.
- 56:02I'm curious before we go into closing here, I I'm just
- 56:06curious, does anybody actually claim to be Moshiach?
- 56:10I would say at this point of my career, I I think I am, I can't
- 56:15prove this to you. The person who gets most people
- 56:20who contact them to say that they think they're moshiach it
- 56:23is it every single day. Every day, whether on my social
- 56:27media channels or WhatsApp to me, I got a call.
- 56:30I was in the shower, I got a call.
- 56:31If I get a call from someone from North Carolina, they call
- 56:35me. Every day.
- 56:35They try to contact me. People think the machete is
- 56:37called messianic complex. It's part of delusions.
- 56:40Is that a real derangement? Real delusions of Grande is a
- 56:43real. Oh, how do you know they're not?
- 56:47What do they tell you that they say that they think?
- 56:49What makes them? What reasons do they give you?
- 56:52I've only had a conversation really with one of them.
- 56:54I usually ignore them at this point.
- 56:56I actually got a call many years ago when I used to leave my cell
- 56:59phone on a night time. So I'm like a call and it was
- 57:02middle of the night. And he said with a very Indian
- 57:04accent, which I can actually do because I'm from England.
- 57:06He goes, hello, I am calling you from Delhi.
- 57:09And you're the rabbi who gave videos before the book came out.
- 57:12You're the rabbi. You.
- 57:13That's not bad, by the way. Thank you so much.
- 57:15I have an Indian family. My my uncles and aunts actually
- 57:18lived in India and Bombay for many years.
- 57:20Wow. My grandfather's sister was on
- 57:23the national hockey team of India.
- 57:26It's a true India has a hockey team.
- 57:28No, no, not ice hockey. Field hockey.
- 57:30Oh, that's very, very cool. Field hockey.
- 57:35I'm surprised they even play field.
- 57:37Hockey. Yeah.
- 57:37Oh, they're massive. Yeah.
- 57:38No. In India.
- 57:39In India. In India.
- 57:40I'm saying I got. To call this.
- 57:42Guy, don't they play cricket over there?
- 57:43Is that they're. Very big.
- 57:44And in England I grew up playing cricket anyway, so this guy
- 57:46calls me up and he goes, I'm here with Mushiya and I was like
- 57:483 in the morning. I was like middle of that.
- 57:50And because I'm like, I had to like, why is this going?
- 57:52Is this really happy? Is this a dream, right?
- 57:55So is it So I'm like, is this Rhea?
- 57:57So I'm like, why don't you think he's Mushiya?
- 57:59He goes well, he's so charismatic and he's a filling
- 58:01with the prophecies and da da da.
- 58:03So I said, is he Jewish? I'm like, I guess he's not
- 58:05Mushiya. Click, that's the end of it.
- 58:07First qualification is you've got to be Jewish.
- 58:09You've got to know the Torah, you've got to do all the myths
- 58:11that says the Rambam, like just like King David, your answer,
- 58:14you have to prove you are direct of sending of King David, right
- 58:18Benacharben, which itself is a big deal to do that.
- 58:20You're going to have prophecy. Prophecy is going to return to
- 58:25the Jewish people. I know we're no longer a profit
- 58:26organization, but Ushi, prophecy is going to return to the Jewish
- 58:29people. That's very clear.
- 58:30And all the prophets speak about that.
- 58:32So we're going to see it. So I get a lot of these people
- 58:34all the time now. I do not engage with them, but I
- 58:35will say it's me. Sound a little anew.
- 58:37I've never seen this before. I had a conversation with one of
- 58:39them many years ago, and I want to get to know them.
- 58:42And they're not completely cuckoo, right?
- 58:44I mean, they think they're Machia.
- 58:46But I said to him, you know, what makes you think you are?
- 58:50And he gave me some explanation. Everyone's got their own answer,
- 58:52but he said he's saying very profound.
- 58:54And he said, you know, I want to make the world a better place.
- 58:57And I feel I can be part of that.
- 58:59That's really the core of all of these people who think they're
- 59:02mushiya. And there are thousands and
- 59:04thousands of them out there. Even people watching right now,
- 59:07some of them are Jewish. They want to meet.
- 59:09They want, they feel as though the world is not right, which is
- 59:11true. They feel the world can be a
- 59:12better place, which is true as well.
- 59:13And they feel as though they can be a catalyst to make the world
- 59:17a better place. Well.
- 59:20Yeah, well, do what Michael Jackson says, you know, look in
- 59:22the mirror and start look with yourself if you want to make the
- 59:25world a better place, you know, so they're not Machia because
- 59:28they want to make the world a better place.
- 59:29Obviously that's not enough of a qualification.
- 59:32I will say in closing, guys, that you know, each one of us
- 59:35can help make this world a better place.
- 59:37You could start by looking in the mirror, but you can also
- 59:39start by asking questions. The fact that you have questions
- 59:42that you don't even realize is something that's can be very
- 59:45profound. Ask the question, do a lot of
- 59:48listening that we've learned today.
- 59:49And Robbie Lawrence, this was fantastic.
- 59:51We can go on for hours. Yeah.
- 59:53And by the way, I just say. I have a million times, I think,
- 59:55a. Lot, I feel like everybody has
- 59:56you off. He has this moment.
- 59:58Finally, just you got invited onto the podcast.
- 1:00:00Finally, you are cutting. He will.
- 1:00:02Own next door neighbor who chose and selected me to live next to
- 1:00:04him. Yeah.
- 1:00:05Signing on his podcast. We learned.
- 1:00:06We learned a lot from this episode.
- 1:00:08Somewhere to go? Is there like an event that's?
- 1:00:11Statistics. Statistics show that people run
- 1:00:15out of patience when it gets to over an hour.
- 1:00:17And explain to my Lex Friedman's podcast.
- 1:00:19I've had three hours then. When I'm at Lex Friedman, you
- 1:00:22know, we'll go on for eight hours, believe me.
- 1:00:25But yeah, that's that's a that's a true story.
- 1:00:27People don't have patience to listen to people for over an
- 1:00:29hour. So when I look at because.
- 1:00:31We all have ADD, yeah. ADA, he tells me we're over an
- 1:00:33hour. I try to wrap.
- 1:00:35It up. Can I, can I tell him my joke?
- 1:00:36My ADD joke? Please, please let's end with
- 1:00:38your ADD joke. Somebody end with a joke by the
- 1:00:40way. Go for it, but I'll do it
- 1:00:41anyway. So ADD stands for attention
- 1:00:43deficit disorder. What's ADHD?
- 1:00:45Attention deficit? Hey, Donuts.
- 1:00:48What is the ace for by the way, I.
- 1:00:50Think hyperactive I. Think hyperactive?
- 1:00:52Well. Hey.
- 1:00:54Joel Yeah. Thank you.
- 1:00:56Thank you, Robbie Lawrence for being here.
- 1:00:57We really appreciate it. We love it's a real pleasure.
- 1:01:00This is by the way. You 2 are like a dysfunctional
- 1:01:03married couple I love by the way.
- 1:01:05Dysfunctional and married couple those.
- 1:01:07Two things are kind of synonymous.
- 1:01:08Yes, they work together well. Yes, that's.
- 1:01:10The purpose of it Haim's wife, Pessie.
- 1:01:13And my wife. And.
- 1:01:13We're very good friends and believe me, dysfunction is the
- 1:01:17last thing that Haim and his represent Pessie are.
- 1:01:19They're very functional. Yeah, that's good.
- 1:01:22But otherwise you 2 are dysfunctional.
- 1:01:23But the words Otherwise it's boring.
- 1:01:25Who wants? To be boring, I'm.
- 1:01:25Against being boring. I like to be, you know, fresh
- 1:01:29and fun and keep things really, you know, entertaining because
- 1:01:32let's face it, we all I saw I started with this and I want to
- 1:01:35finish with this. We all need a little bit more
- 1:01:37humor in our lives. We have enough garbage going on.
- 1:01:40We have enough traumatic things happening, tragedies all around
- 1:01:43us. And if you just let that become
- 1:01:46the storyline, then it's just you're gonna become more and
- 1:01:49more miserable like you. You need to just lighten up.
- 1:01:51You need to, you know, have guests like this who have
- 1:01:54something nice to say. And you know, by the way, I I
- 1:01:57respect that you took on this mission and that you're like
- 1:02:00running with it and that you're going all the way.
- 1:02:01And you know, another thing, people should have their own,
- 1:02:03like hobbies. People should have their own
- 1:02:05passions that they're into, whether it's work, whether it's
- 1:02:07sports watches, watches, yes, yes, as dull as that may be.
- 1:02:12But certainly, certainly I, I think this Meshach thing is, is
- 1:02:16amazing. And I think schools should teach
- 1:02:18a little bit more about this, this way, this way.
- 1:02:20Guys like me, by the time we're hitting our 40s, you know, we're
- 1:02:23not like, so like, you know, over overdone with this whole
- 1:02:26topic and like, it is what it is.
- 1:02:27And I'm just like, I don't want to talk about it or we don't
- 1:02:29feel like if our feet aren't together during.
- 1:02:31Schwann Estrey We're not going to hell, right?
- 1:02:33Right. Or if I look under the the.
- 1:02:35Talus by when? The Kohana.
- 1:02:37Oh my God, your eyes. I'm gonna.
- 1:02:39Burn out and I'm gonna get blind like by.
- 1:02:41The way whenever Rebbe taught the children, the first Rebbe
- 1:02:44that came up with this and said, let me by the way, he's not a
- 1:02:46good guy, he's not a good guy. That Rebbe by the way, he's just
- 1:02:50a fear mongering person. We that's all he did.
- 1:02:52They are a result. I went to a very Haredi
- 1:02:54Ashkenazi. Shiva and I was Sephardic, which
- 1:02:56back then wasn't cool. Now it's cool to be Spartic.
- 1:02:58Oh, Sephardic, Right. Avadi yourself made it cool to
- 1:03:01be Sephardic. But before I grew up, you were
- 1:03:03like a second class citizen. But we were all basically
- 1:03:06students of people who came out of the Holocaust, right?
- 1:03:10I know your family was my wife's family.
- 1:03:11And these were basically they were trying to rebuild
- 1:03:13something. They didn't know what they were
- 1:03:15doing. They felt the only way to do it
- 1:03:16was to, I mean, literally hammer home.
- 1:03:19I came from a school where there was corporate money.
- 1:03:20They used to hit us. It was just nowadays we'd never
- 1:03:22have such a thing. So we are basically the result
- 1:03:24of a post holohaust generation. That's I mean, it's a whole
- 1:03:27discussion of itself, of what happened in the Jewish
- 1:03:29educational system. I don't think it was always like
- 1:03:32this. I don't think it was always like
- 1:03:33fire and brimstone. And if you did, I grew up the
- 1:03:35same thing. I used to get a patch for, you
- 1:03:37know, for I was, I remembered this so clearly.
- 1:03:39I was hot while I was diving the Amida, whatever it was, whenever
- 1:03:42I was like I must, I was in primary school.
- 1:03:43So I was 10 years old. I started to take my sweater off
- 1:03:46and the Rebbe gave me a smack and said take your sweater off
- 1:03:49in front of a Shem. You know, and I'll be honest
- 1:03:52with you, that guy gave you the wrong image of Hashem.
- 1:03:54He gave you the wrong idea of Hashem, but at a long time it
- 1:03:56ruined Aveney for me. I had to be honest with you.
- 1:03:58But that was a great. Thing.
- 1:03:58Let's fix it though. Let's fix it.
- 1:04:01It's not too late. Let's fix it.
- 1:04:02It's always in your generation I think.
- 1:04:04I believe. We are on the side of fixing.
- 1:04:06It I want to have I I try this very hard with my.
- 1:04:08Children love, give them love, and everything else will fall
- 1:04:13into place. Because when you have a more
- 1:04:15confident person and when they feel better about themselves,
- 1:04:17they can conquer the world. They can do anything.
- 1:04:20But somebody who's mired in bitterness and somebody who's
- 1:04:23just afraid all the time and is ashamed and who has guilt, those
- 1:04:28people are not successful as notorious.
- 1:04:30I'll tell you as much as I love. I love to debate you and argue
- 1:04:33with you, Ishi, but you are on the money today.
- 1:04:35Yeah, 100%. I feel very focused.
- 1:04:38About this. For children, everything else is
- 1:04:41a moot point. My father-in-law always says you
- 1:04:43want a. Good number to call.
- 1:04:44Call 1800 love. That's the number you call 1800
- 1:04:48love. Because love is the end all be
- 1:04:51all and it conquers everything. It really does.
- 1:04:53Did anyone ever tell them that love is just 4 numbers?
- 1:04:57Somebody should memo tip. Robbie Lawrence, we do have a
- 1:05:00tradition here at the None of Your Business podcast before
- 1:05:03ending. And first of all, I want to
- 1:05:04thank again Prime Source and all our listeners.
- 1:05:07Please don't forget to like, comment and subscribe.
- 1:05:10Before we end, we'd like to ask you who would you recommend?
- 1:05:15To come on the None of Your Business podcast.
- 1:05:17I have a question. Well, it's 2.
- 1:05:19Big choices, Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
- 1:05:23Let's get them both at the same time.
- 1:05:25Let's. Reference it by saying.
- 1:05:26Who do you recommend that you can call and ask them now to
- 1:05:31join them out of your business podcast, I would recall.
- 1:05:35Again, I don't it's there's a few people that come to mind.
- 1:05:38Sure, just pop them to my head. But if you gave me a bit more
- 1:05:39time and had you preempted this question, No, no, no.
- 1:05:42We want your pulsive answer, my pulsive answer, Rabbi Lawrence.
- 1:05:47Is the. Assistant Rabbi.
- 1:05:48To an amazing synagogue shul in the Upper East Side in Manhattan
- 1:05:53called the Safra synagogue and I had the privilege of being there
- 1:05:56once for Shabbos and him and as as an assistant rabbi pretty
- 1:06:00much runs the place but it's leadership hill today you're the
- 1:06:03assistant rabbi yeah it's not official but I.
- 1:06:05I am one of the rabbis on the. Team of rabbis over there.
- 1:06:08So I do classes there. I run Shabbats and the the
- 1:06:11leader of that OK, so I'm gonna go.
- 1:06:13Back to this question, because Bushy, I want to tell you a
- 1:06:16story that happened with Robbie Lawrence and I by Lawrence once,
- 1:06:19and we were talking about a gentleman that he knows very,
- 1:06:21very well that was at the cusp of buying a sports team.
- 1:06:26He did buy the team. Do you remember this?
- 1:06:28I remember but he was a. Day away from buying.
- 1:06:29It he didn't close yet and Lawrence looks at me and he
- 1:06:32goes, he's going to be buying the team from Michael Jordan and
- 1:06:35from like other people who are selling it, right?
- 1:06:37Is that what it was? It's absolutely true.
- 1:06:38So I looked at him and I said get him on the phone right now.
- 1:06:41I want to buy a part of the team and Lawrence looks at me like,
- 1:06:44are you? Are you mad?
- 1:06:45Are you? Mad, I said Lawrence.
- 1:06:47Get him on. The phone, he couldn't say no to
- 1:06:50me. I didn't say, are you mud?
- 1:06:52I said are you mad? Very.
- 1:06:53Clear. Yeah.
- 1:06:53OK, Thank you for that. He gets him on the phone.
- 1:06:57I I, I introduced myself, I said hi, how are you?
- 1:06:59How you doing? Look, it's been my dream on a
- 1:07:03sports team my entire life. Everybody's dream and I'm OK,
- 1:07:06good and I'm. I'm good friends with Ravi.
- 1:07:08Lawrence and we impact each other and we help each other
- 1:07:11grow in life. And I know he's connected to you
- 1:07:13and by default I'm connected to you 'cause he's connected to me.
- 1:07:16I'm not asking for much. I'm asking for .000 Infinity
- 1:07:21zeros, as many zeros as you want with a one at the end for me to
- 1:07:25buy a portion of your team. What did he say?
- 1:07:29He left. He didn't like, he said.
- 1:07:31That's. Fine, but the minimum.
- 1:07:32Amount is $26 million, that's true.
- 1:07:34That's $2 billion. Team Yeah, wow, that's not
- 1:07:36that's no, you're more. Than two billion thing, who was
- 1:07:38it? Was it the?
- 1:07:40The Charlotte. Hornets, Charlotte Hornets the
- 1:07:41Charlotte. Hornets.
- 1:07:42Yeah, Michael, Great, great on the Charlotte.
- 1:07:43Hornets. Yeah, not anymore.
- 1:07:44He owes 5% of it. Still, he kept a look as he was.
- 1:07:46In What about getting him on our podcast Michael Jordan, No.
- 1:07:49Michael Jordan would be nice. Do you?
- 1:07:51Yeah. Play singles pickleball.
- 1:07:53Or double S only. I play both.
- 1:07:56I prefer singles like I. Prefer singles but double S is
- 1:08:00more fun but I prefer playing. Do you fancy yourself to be a
- 1:08:02really good pickleball player? I.
- 1:08:04Don't. I am a very good pickle player.
- 1:08:05Oh, so you do? No one.
- 1:08:06No. One beats me a monster, so you
- 1:08:07definitely fancy it. No one beats me a monster.
- 1:08:09OK, so great. Nobody, No one's beat.
- 1:08:10Me a monster. Wow.
- 1:08:10All right. One second I have got to get
- 1:08:12someone. To beat them, hold on, hold on,
- 1:08:13hold. On hold on, hold on.
- 1:08:14Hold on. I was saying no, I mean, I
- 1:08:15haven't. Played everyone by the way so
- 1:08:16far really. Has your.
- 1:08:16I don't know you well, but I'll take your.
- 1:08:18Word for it because you seem like an honorable person.
- 1:08:21OK, I have $100 here I'm going to put on the table.
- 1:08:24I'd like you to do the same please.
- 1:08:25OK, I'd like to put the same, OK.
- 1:08:27You're committing 200. Dollars.
- 1:08:29OK, I don't know what for you. I'm going to.
- 1:08:31I'm going to get you a. Competition with another Muncie
- 1:08:35player he's going to be the best of yeah.
- 1:08:36He can't get out of Muncie. No, in Muncie, Manhattan.
- 1:08:38Matter of fact, he lives about less than 3 miles.
- 1:08:41From your house. OK, So it's very close, right?
- 1:08:43OK. And you're going to have a
- 1:08:44pickleball match, OK. And not only is he going to beat
- 1:08:48you, I'm willing to give you a handicap.
- 1:08:51I'm willing to even give you a certain amount of points that
- 1:08:53you're going to get. How many points would it give
- 1:08:55me? How his game goes up to 11.
- 1:08:56How many game goes to 11? You're not going to get more
- 1:08:59than six. Points off of him.
- 1:09:00Wow, you're basically willing to give him you're going to double?
- 1:09:02He's going to double. The points off you're basically
- 1:09:04going to. Give him a 5 point lead in.
- 1:09:06Every game because it's up to 11, right?
- 1:09:08Giving him a lead? Well, no.
- 1:09:09Give me a lead of five. Points I was going to give you.
- 1:09:11A lead of five points. That is correct.
- 1:09:13In each game and you how many games 3?
- 1:09:15Games you tell. Me so best of three.
- 1:09:18I'll play best of five. If you wanted no the best of
- 1:09:203/2. Games best of three you have to
- 1:09:21win 2. Can I ask who this person is?
- 1:09:23No, first, just agree. $100 you want to.
- 1:09:25Agree without knowing it is yes matter.
- 1:09:28Of fact, it could be 100 fantasy.

- 1:09:33commit anything and I'm putting this on the side and if you beat
- 1:09:36him, this is yours. And bragging rights, by the way,
- 1:09:39those come with a lot. Now who is done?
- 1:09:40OK, his name is Mayor. Arm.

- 1:09:46OK, he's very. Undercover guy.
- 1:09:48He's not very well. He's not a very loud person, so
- 1:09:50not a lot of people know him, but I believe that he is by far
- 1:09:55the best pickleball player not in Muncie.
- 1:09:57He's got a good name for it because he's got a good arm, you
- 1:09:59know? That's got his name, so that
- 1:10:01definitely helps. I may change, I may change.
- 1:10:03I may change my name to bat and ball just to.
- 1:10:05OK, it's on, it's on, it's on, it's on.
- 1:10:08I mean, maybe you should ask him. 1st I don't need to ask
- 1:10:10him. He'll be his pleasure to.
- 1:10:12Obliterate you? Yes.
- 1:10:13OK. Yeah.
- 1:10:13He won't beat you. He'll obliterate you.
- 1:10:15There's a difference. Yes.
- 1:10:16Make sure that you leave with your ego intact when you leave
- 1:10:19the court. Anyway, I have no problem
- 1:10:20losing. I'm excited.
- 1:10:21I'm bringing a crowd. I'm not.
- 1:10:22Going to lose I'm. Bringing the crowd with me, by
- 1:10:24the way. Please it's.
- 1:10:25Not, you know, you're not going to lose in front of one or two
- 1:10:27people. I've wanted to start a
- 1:10:28pickleball tournament. I might have been live.
- 1:10:30Streamed this I think we should get Yitz Greenbaum who?
- 1:10:32Runs the the Muncie sporting world.
- 1:10:34He runs the, you know, very competitive leagues, although
- 1:10:37you know what I'm talking about. Yeah, Yeah.
- 1:10:38So we're going to have him live stream this competition.
- 1:10:41We're going to build it up. We're going to build it up a
- 1:10:42little bit between you and Mayor Arm Pickleball Court.
- 1:10:46The event of the year, The $100 will go to Sidaka.

- 1:11:02It was a pleasure having you here.
- 1:11:03It was. An honor, pleasure was all.
- 1:11:05And it was. It was fun.
- 1:11:06It was fun. It was.
- 1:11:07Funny, like I was going to say. And yeah, until next time, guys.
- 1:11:12OK, Thank you very much. I'm going to come back.
- 1:11:15Thank you.
