- 6:52Ontario and MTERA can decide to change collection
- 6:57dates routes. streams, how it's collected, so
- 7:00on and so forth. CAO Matthew Grant explains challenges
- 7:03staff are facing and how they're moving forward
- 7:05in the new year. There's going to be some change
- 7:09management challenges that will present themselves
- 7:12as this rolls out. One of the things that will
- 7:16be important for us is a pretty robust communications
- 7:19plan combined with a pretty significant advertising
- 7:23plan just to ensure that people understand what
- 7:28we are and are not responsible for. You know,
- 7:32we will need to make it clear for people what
- 7:34we are and are not able to do because I appreciate
- 7:38some people will be coming to us to maybe look
- 7:40for us to assist and make sense of this. And
- 7:45unfortunately, we won't be in that position.
- 7:49And so it'll just be really important that we
- 7:51be clear with people about where they can go
- 7:53for the right information, who is now in charge
- 7:57of this, you know, recycling more generally.
- 8:02And that work is already underway. You know,
- 8:06I will give kudos to the team. It's a bit of
- 8:09a moving target. But, you know, we're staying
- 8:13on top of the changes which have been numerous.
- 8:17Non -eligible sources such as industrial and
- 8:19commercial properties, not -for -profit organizations,
- 8:22municipal and government buildings, commercial
- 8:24farms, daycares, places of worship, campgrounds,
- 8:27and trailer parks will no longer receive curbside
- 8:30collection. Residents who live in mixed commercial
- 8:33and residential buildings will still receive
- 8:35curbside collection while the commercial section
- 8:37of the building will not. The town will still
- 8:39be responsible for collecting garbage. For Amherst
