- Camilla: Hello, hello everyone. Our girl Natalie is with us. Yay. Welcome back, everyone. Natalie: Welcome back. Yay. It's so good to be here. Camilla: it's so good to have you. Natalie: I've been listening to the episodes. Camilla: Now you have have you really? Natalie: Yeah. Yeah. I listened to your voice note episode yes yesterday. I listened to the Alexa Camilla: my god, I haven't really even been listening. okay, great. Natalie: update in the story, which I didn't even know about, even though I'm despite being from Southern Oregon. yeah, I had no idea. Camilla: Yeah. really? Yeah. Yeah, funny. Ricky didn't either. Crazy. Crazy. Natalie: and then I've only listened to half of Parker's episode, but I and I it's it's like every time I get in the car it starts playing, but like I wanna listen to it when I'm by myself. So you know how that goes. Camilla: Uh-huh. Yeah, yeah. I get that. Wow. Well, thanks for listening. I s I often don't even get a chance to listen to the episodes once they're out. So it feels nice that one of us is at least getting an ear on them. but really Natalie: Well, you're recording them, so like you already know. Camilla: yeah. It's true. It's true. I wanna hear w everybody wants to hear what you've been up to. Take it away where to even start? Natalie: man. Well, okay. Well, where was the last what was the last where to even start? I think we knew everybody knew that I would be getting a dog. Kind of two dogs. It has been two dogs. Camilla: I don't even know that that's true. I honestly don't even know that it's true that people knew that. Natalie: okay. Well Camilla: I think maybe we casually mentioned you were getting a a dog, but or you were getting a Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: puppy and so life would be different, but your life has completely you would live in a new home, you ha take it away. I'm not no spoilers, you know, already did a spoiler, but Natalie: Yeah. Okay. Well, so yeah, you know, okay. So my boyfriend and I decided to move in together. One, my lease is almost over at my apartment. He was month to month. We're staying together every night, anyways, except for when one of us is out of town. So like it just didn't feel like it made Camilla: Mm. Yeah. Natalie: sense. And We had both planned to get dogs. So we were both getting dogs. We both lived in third floor story apartments. We were like, well, Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: we might as well get a house with a yard. essentially pay the same Camilla: Totally. Natalie: amount we're already paying for rent, but have outdoor space, more space, a great neighborhood. Camilla: Yes. Natalie: And so we found a place we said, if we find a place, we'll we'll do it. And so we found a great spot. It's like in a cute Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: little neighborhood. close enough to everything that we need access to. And there's we just discovered in the last couple weeks, there's like this great trail system right on the river that's walkable. Like yesterday I just walked out the door five minutes. I was at the river. yeah, really great. So great location, Camilla: Wow, that's amazing. Natalie: great yard, great neighbors. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: Yeah, it's been good. I still haven't fully technically moved out of my apartment, like my things, you know, like we're staying at the new place every night, but Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Natalie: my bed is at my apartment and my couch and our table, you know, there's like all of this Camilla: Okay. Natalie: moving stuff that I still need to do. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: so I think we'll feel more settled after. Camilla: And are you doing that with a moving company? Natalie: That's the plan. Yeah. I haven't really next weekend or I guess this upcoming weekend, I'm gonna spend some time there like packing, if you will. and then my plan is to hire movers to Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: move the furna the big things, you know, stuff Camilla: Hm, yeah. Natalie: that I can take in my car, I will that I want to. and Camilla: Totally. Do it Yeah. Natalie: then yeah, have somebody else do the heavy lifting. So The first time I hired movers, I was like, why have I never I mean Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: obviously because I didn't have money to do it, but like it was so nice. Camilla: Logip. Natalie: Budget. Camilla: I'm a just on the technical side, I'm wondering if our timing is off. Natalie: Yeah, I wondered the same thing. Camilla: Does it feel delayed on your end? Yes. Natalie: E yeah. Camilla: How is is my picture clear to you or blurry? Natalie: Blurry. Camilla: Yeah, your picture's very blurry and glitchy for me and I there seems there's a long pause when I'm done talking between me talking and you answering. Natalie: Yeah, same for the opposite way. Hold on. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: I've just turned now off my Wi-Fi. I don't know if that's gonna make a difference, but Camilla: you're clear n for a second. Hello? Natalie: I can still hear you. Can you hear me? Camilla: Alright, I can totally. Natalie: You're still blurry and delayed. Camilla: Shit. I'm wondering if I should hang up and try calling you back. Natalie: Or it is Camilla: Hm. Natalie: could there be somebody in the household streaming or downloading a large file or Camilla: No. Natalie: up I guess uploading, not necessarily download. Hmm. Camilla: No, they're on a walk and I'm like right by the Wi Fi thing. So I have good Wi Fi. Hmm. this is one of those weird things that I've noticed with Riverside. sometimes during the recording it seems like a little glitchy and funky and then I look at the recording Natalie: Mm. Camilla: and it seems fine. But this is like slightly more than I would say is usual, 'cause it doesn't even feel like we're capable of having a back and forth. Natalie: Well, is it better now? Camilla: Slightly. What about you? Natalie: It feels better. You're still blurry, but I feel like I'm able to respond right after you finish. I don't know if you're hearing me though right away. Camilla: I think I am. I can hear you right now. Does that seem on track? Okay, I think our timing is way better. Yes. And you're like Natalie: Yeah, I can you hear me right now? Okay. Okay. Camilla: slightly blurry, but I I don't think you will be when I edit it. Natalie: Okay. Yeah, sounds good. The dogs are going berserk right now. I know that Riverside will edit it out, but Camilla: Yeah. Okay. So let's just keep going. I think we're good. I hear them. Natalie: I am so I hope that nobody Camilla: Do you need to go down? Natalie: Nope, they're in their nope, they're both in their crates. So they're fine. Yeah. Probably. Camilla: So they're fine. It's like just they're just going nuts. They can hear you. They just want you. But do you have like dog mommy brain right now where it's like you can you can't think about anything else because like all you hear is the barking? Natalie: No, I just turned my noise cancelling on, so hopefully it'll drown it out to me. Camilla: my God. Okay. I was it's funny. I was thinking about this last night because Natalie: Uh-huh. Camilla: often now, like once the kids are asleep, I'll take a shower, which like when they're babies, I just never felt like I could do. Cause it was like if they woke up and needed me, what? I'm gonna like run out with shampoo in my hair. But now that Natalie: Sure. Camilla: they're, you know, it's like if they need they can they can wait. If they wake up and need, you know what I mean? Like, yeah. Natalie: It's like wait, you can wait. Yeah, right. Yeah. Camilla: But I was in the shower last night and I felt like I heard one of them crying, which would have been really unusual. But I was like, I Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: kind of think I hear a cell crying shit. And then I was like, it's probably Phantom. And like I'd kind of forgotten, Natalie: Mm. Camilla: but when both of my kids were babies, probably for the first 18 months of their lives, whenever I took a shower, I would hear them crying. They weren't crying. But it was like any noise sounded like them crying for me. And anyway, I was like, my God, I'm so happy to be like Natalie: Interesting. Camilla: out of that. And then I was like, I wonder if Natalie hears the dogs barking when she's in the shower. I wonder if she hears them whining and barking. Natalie: I feel like it's probably not the same intensity level because they're literally dogs and and I Camilla: Right. Natalie: I have for sure gotten more used to in the last probably two weeks because I have to continue on with my life. I don't, I'm not taking dog leave. You know what I mean? I don't know if people do that. I'm sure some people do, but like I didn't take puppy leave. I have to continue on with Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Y totally. I'm sure, yeah. Yeah. Natalie: the first few weeks. I I struggled. I like really struggled because they're, Camilla: Yes. Natalie: you know, they're in a new environment. They're babies, basically. Camilla: Yeah. They're babies. They are, yeah. Natalie: and they would cry and bite. Bark and they just wanted to be basically with me. Camilla: Scenario. Natalie: And because there are two of them, if one is like totally content, but the other one starts whining, then the other one, like, here's that dog. And then they want to like play. And we have them in different areas because that's like what's recommended. So you don't get like litter mate syndrome. And so they have like Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Natalie: time that they play together. They have their own independent spaces, own independent crate, own independent play, play together. Camilla: Mm. Natalie: The training, yes, we train both of them on our own. There's no way I could train them together. There's absolutely no way. Like when they're together, there's literally you can't even get through to them. Yeah, they're totally Camilla: Right, right. They're nuts. Yeah. Natalie: nuts. I I have had moments where I'm like, my God, will this ever will they ever listen when they're together? I don't know. I'm sure they will. but like, Camilla: And yeah. Yeah. Natalie: yeah. so anyways. Camilla: Probably when the novelty of it being like your sibling best friend, when then when Natalie: Mm-hmm. Camilla: playing together when they're older and playing together is like most of the day, it'll be like, okay, yeah, we still have to listen because this isn't like the most exciting, thrilling thing. It's like, Yeah, we're we Natalie: Yeah. Right. Camilla: got this all the time, you know. Natalie: Yeah. Yeah. So Camilla: You think? Natalie: I think the short I do think I think so. And I think once they're old enough and they listen and they have their own space and they can like regulate their own energy in theory, they Camilla: Yes. Yeah. Natalie: won't be in crates and pens in separated space. So they Camilla: Totally. Natalie: can play together when they want to play together. And like I would Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: expect that I don't we don't have to like manage that piece as much. I don't know, maybe that's super naive, but we'll just figure out. It's like day by day. Yeah. To answer your initial question. go ahead. Camilla: Yeah. No, I th I think that that seems right. Yeah, and the reality is Yeah, go ahead. No, no, no, you go. Natalie: I think I think the first few n the first probably week, two weeks, I for sure was having like phantom barking, crying shower when I was like in the middle of the night. was like, are Camilla: Yep. Panic. Natalie: those is that the dogs? Is that the dogs? And now Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: they were also barking and crying a lot. And it has gotten a little bit better. Yeah. Camilla: they were going nuts. Yeah. Natalie: So who knows, maybe it was legit. Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. But it honestly, how mu it's been what, a month? Natalie: Yeah, it's been about a month. Camilla: Yeah. Little less. Natalie: Let's yeah, I think it's been a month. It's been a Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: we picked Kaya up, the Australian Shepherd, my boyfriend's dog technically, like right when we got back from a vacation. So and that was before I went to Indianapolis last. So that maybe was like six five weeks ago. I'm not looking at a calendar, but and then I think we picked up jam the following Camilla: Yeah. Right. And yeah. Natalie: week. So yeah. Camilla: And then are you how are you feeling about your next Indianapolis trip? When is that? Natalie: November ninth and Camilla: Okay, coming up. Natalie: yeah, a couple weeks. I feel fine about it. I I It'll I I I always it's always so busy when I go. Like I usually go on weeks when there are like events happening, like team events, a lot of in person stuff. And so it's like hard to actually get work done Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Natalie: because there's so much in person stuff. and I actually Camilla: Mm-hmm. Natalie: postponed my I didn't postpone, but like I made the duration between my visits longer this time, mostly because like the dog and just giving are I don't know. So Camilla: You needed it. Yeah. Natalie: I needed the extra time. So I'm going on an off week when there aren't a lot of in person stuff. So I'm looking forward to that to see can am I gonna be able to be more Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: productive? Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: but in terms of the dogs, originally I was like, well, I'll get like a board and train for a jam so that Adam doesn't have to like worry about Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: two dogs because he also like Camilla: Mm-hmm. Natalie: works in person in an office. And so there's just it's just Camilla: Yeah. Whole thing. Natalie: But I'm I don't know. I like contacted a specific place. I haven't really heard back from them in any real detail. Camilla: Mm. Natalie: And so I don't know. We're I think probably this first trip, we'll just see how it goes with both dogs. I'm trying to s give them Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: more time in their crates during the day because that is how because most Camilla: So they get more used to the time it will be. Natalie: of the day that he's it, you know, working when I'm gone. they will be in crate in their crates. Camilla: Uh-huh. Natalie: So yeah. Anyways, it's yeah. Camilla: And yeah, is there is there a possibility you could get out like instead of boarding jam and getting like a dog sitter or something to come mid morning to like let the dogs out, play with them a bit, leave a note for Adam. Because then like Adam's not like, Natalie: yeah, you asked about that. Yeah. Maybe. Camilla: fuck, I've got to get home and the dogs are gonna be ballistic because I've been gone. Natalie: Yeah, yeah. Camilla: Cause is he he's working all day, right? He's just coming home for lunch. Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: I mean, like again, I just kind of keep going back to Camilla: You don't seem worried about it at all. Natalie: I I'm kind of like they're dogs. You know what I mean? I I know that that they're like Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: babies and they're puppies, but all of their needs are being met. That's what I keep telling myself. And that's what I say to the dogs Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Natalie: when they're like freaking out. I'm like, you're you've been fed, you've been ex, you know, like we've played, we're training, you have water. am Camilla: You yeah, yeah, yeah. Natalie: like. I'm obsessed with them. They're so cute and I love them already so Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: much. But I really don't wanna be that person who's like I don't know, like I I feel myself already adjusting. Camilla: Yeah. Who like can't go to the event because the dog like you don't want to leave your Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: dog for an extra hour. Yeah. Natalie: Yeah. now I know that there will be times when like it just you know like they're they also are animals and they need attention and care and love and blah blah blah. I'm not like neglecting Camilla: Totally. Natalie: them, but I also am like they're Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: okay. They're gonna be fine, they're well cared for, spoiled if nothing else. You know what mean? Camilla: Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. Totally. Natalie: so yeah. The Golden Retriever jam. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: jam biscuit is having some tummy issues. So I'm figuring I'm trying to like I've been kind of going through it the last week with that. Like not to I don't need to like go into the details, but I basically I I had to go to the vet today and get prescription food to like reset his microbiome and his gut. Pretty penny. It was just well, Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Cause it just got out of control. I bet. Natalie: it just isn't normal again yet. And We did a fecal sample. We did this. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: and like there's really no explanation for why it's but the vet basically was like, it could be from the vaccines, it could be from stress from the appointment or other things. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: It could be that he's just eating something in the yard that you haven't seen that's like upsetting his. It could be that, you know, he has a sensitivity to some of the treats or things that you've given him. So like let's Camilla: Mm. Natalie: just do a reset. And then go from there. If we're still having a problem in three to five days, then we'll do another fecal sample and go from so. Camilla: But he's not dehydrated or anything. He's he's fine. He just has a Natalie: No, he's he's Camilla: upset tummy. Natalie: he's totally fine. If anything, Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: I'm probably being overly cautious. I'm like, he has soft stool, but he has this time he he's like thrown Camilla: Yeah. His Tommy. Yeah. Natalie: up a couple of times and like pooped in the crate overnight and thrown up in the crate. So like Camilla: yeah. Natalie: there's obviously something that's not right. so anyways, Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: I that's what I was doing before I before this. Camilla: That's stressful. That's really stressful. Natalie: Yeah, the first night it happened, I was like, my god, does he have is he sick? Is he par does he have parvo? Does he did we expose him to something Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Natalie: that cause there's so much this is something I've learned. I don't mean to make this whole thing about the dogs. But like Camilla: It's that's what we talked about it being, so it's fine. Natalie: Yeah, there's so much fear mongering around like don't take your like around puppies before they're fully vaccinated. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: Socializing with other dogs, going outside, going to a yard, going on the sidewalk and Even like the Kaya Adam is taking Kaya to training, like a like a group puppy class, basically. And like Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: they've even said there's a lot of fear-mongering about it. Obviously, you need to be careful. Like, don't go to dog parks or highly Camilla: Totally. Natalie: trafficked dog parks where there are a bunch of unknown dogs. Don't take them on popular sidewalks. But like also Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: socializing your animal at this age is more important than not. socializing them or so Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: but there is so much fear mongering I feel like about just it in general like raising a puppy and so where was I going with that? I can't remember but Camilla: Yeah. I mean, I think you know, I it's the same with kids. It's the same with anything internet, because Natalie: Mm. Camilla: anything negative Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: keeps our brains keeps our attention the longest. I mean, people have studied it. That's why the news is all negative. It's not positive Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: happy stuff, because they want to keep us they want our attention and our eyeballs, because that sells ads. Natalie: Yeah. To keep going. Yeah. Yeah. yeah. Camilla: so I think I think two things are true. I think. I think one is true, which is there's just people are obsessed with scaring people and fear and clickbait and like this, this, and this. And I think the other thing that's true of Parvo, and I could be wrong, I actually don't know that much about Parvo, is that like it is pretty rare, but when puppies get it, it can be pretty fatal. Am I wrong? Yeah. Like I think it's pretty bad. So it's just Natalie: Fatal. Yeah. No, I think you're I think you're right. Yeah. It also is like Camilla: like it's one of those things where it's like, It's rare. If they almost certainly won't get it. And if they do, they might die. Like that's so Natalie: Yeah, yeah. Camilla: I think that's why people are like so freaked out. It's like, yeah, but how likely is it really? Yeah, Natalie: Right, right. Camilla: I don't know. It's hard. And everyone has to do their own like risk anal risk reward analysis, whatever that is, you know. Natalie: Right. Totally. Totally. Yeah. Yeah. So anyways, other than that, he's great. He's fine. He's like high energy. He wants to play. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: He wants to, you know. So I'm not really worried Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: about it. He's eating and drinking. Camilla: Does it s does Natalie: What? Camilla: it feel you mentioned you said something earlier like Kaya who's technically Adam's dog, does it feel like they're still Jam is yours, Kaya's his? Or does it feel like they are your puppy, your collective puppies? Natalie: I feel like they feel like our collective puppies. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: Technically, Kaya is Adam's and Jam is mine, but we're sharing the responsibilities. They both we Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: all live together. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: and like since there are two of them, I'm like I think I'm probably more aware of like making sure they're Both getting the attention that they need so that I'm Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: not favoring one over the other. They're both Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Natalie: super cute in their own ways. Like, you know, so Jam like, he's the golden retriever. He's like super wiggly and like just kind of a dodo, you know? He's like goofy, Camilla: Mm, yeah. Natalie: like kind of clumsy still. His paws and He's gotten a lot bigger, but his paws are so big. He is pretty uncoordinated, but he wants Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: to play really hard. And Kaya is like Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: super athletic because she's like a herding dog. She's like a working dog. So she's like Camilla: huh. Yeah. Totally. Natalie: really fast, super smart. She's like herding him basically Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: in the yard. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: anyways, so yeah. It's been pretty fun. Camilla: Is is he bigger than her yet? Natalie: They're about the same size now. I think like she's Camilla: Okay. Natalie: a little more like her legs are probably at this point, actually he's probably taller than her, a little bit maybe taller than her. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: Or maybe his legs just seem longer because she has her her fur is like thicker. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: I I think they weigh the same amount now, but he's get definitely gonna be bigger. He was Camilla: Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Natalie: the littlest dog of the litter and technically like the runt. but I have a feeling he's gonna be pretty big. Camilla: How big is he estimated to be? Natalie: I don't know. I think golden retriever like Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: male golden retrievers can be sixty-five to seventy pounds or something. Yeah. Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Natalie: Yeah. How big is Albi? Camilla: He's a hundred and ten pounds. He's huge. Natalie: wow. Camilla: He's ma he's like he's a huge dog though, you know what I mean? he's very Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: tall. He's a very tall big tall boy. Natalie: I guess I haven't seen him for a long time. Not that he's pro he probably was the big it's Camilla: Mm. Natalie: just been a while, I think, since I've seen him in person, Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: maybe. Yeah. Camilla: I can't remember what combo he is. He has German Shepherd and then another breed in him. I can't remember what. Another big he's got a bunch of things, but I think for the most part they're big dogs, So he's just like the culmination of these big heavy dogs. And he's just, Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: you know how some dogs, especially some mutts, just are like the strangest body tie. He's just got the longest, gangliest Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: legs. It still looks like he's like a baby deer when he walks. his legs are all crisscrossy, Natalie: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Camilla: and he's seven, eight. He's seven now. So Natalie: My God, is he really? Camilla: Yeah, we got him in twenty nineteen. Natalie: Wow. Camilla: I know time is so fucking weird, especially with the pandemic. Natalie: That feels like a lifetime ago. Camilla: You're telling me, I know. It feels like a lifetime ago and also like it hasn't been that long. Natalie: That long. Yeah. Yeah. Camilla: Yeah. So not much life. I got my COVID and flu shot yesterday. And as as you know, Natalie: yeah. Wait, we texted about that a little bit. Yeah. Camilla: yeah. and I kinda thought I was gonna feel f I can't really remember the last time I like felt shitty after getting vaccines, but I Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: kind of felt like shit the first half of today. Like just achy and like Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: like I took the kids to Goodwill to do some like costume piece shopping. And while we were there, I was just, I thought to myself, like, I feel like shit. Like, I don't feel good. I I have like a shitty attitude Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: and I don't feel good. And I was like, why? What's going on? And then we drove home and the whole drive I was like, You know that me like you're just like, I don't, I don't like the way I feel in my head or my body. Yeah. Natalie: Yeah. icky. I'm icky. Yeah. Camilla: Yeah. And then we got home and I was like, I feel like shit. And I took some Advil and got two heating pads and curled up on the couch with the kids. And within an hour, of course, the Advil kicked in. The heat pads warmed me up and I was like, Natalie: Yeah, we love Advil. Camilla: okay. and I ate. I think I must have been really hungry. Anyway. Natalie: Have you have are you still feeling cold? Like is it cold? Camilla: Mmm. It's cold. The weather has definitely switched. Like we are now we're officially in like I want to wear socks every day. Like I can't, like the bare feet, my Natalie: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Camilla: my f toes are freezing. I must wear Natalie: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Camilla: like a a warm layer on the top, or I'm cold. The fireplace is on often. You know, like Natalie: Yeah, yep. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. Camilla: that's we're in that season. Natalie: Totally. I I walked out of the house yesterday to go on a walk wearing shorts and a sweater. Camilla: Cause it was sunny, so you misjudged. Mm hmm. Yeah. Natalie: Cause it was sunny, which it often is sunny here. and I was on the phone and I got like two blocks in and I was like, it's I'm sorry, it's actually really quite cold. Camilla: Frozen. Natalie: Everybody else is in like puffers, hats, people have gloves on, pants, and I'm just like do do Camilla: yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Natalie: do do do. I walked for 30 minutes and I was like Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: ferozen. I was like, god, I need to go Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: home. Anyways, how's the weather has turned Camilla: It's just that Natalie: here too? Camilla: brrr. I know. It was so weird. I've Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: never this was the only year that I can remember where I there I mean I texted you about it, but there was like a day where I was like, everything it's changed. I'm cold all day now. Now I did order myself a Columbia puffer today. Not the one I sent you, which like no, I want it, Natalie: So I Camilla: I do want it. But it's three hundred dollars. Natalie: Yeah, let me hear your butt because I Okay. Camilla: Well, okay, here are my buts. One, it's three hundred dollars, which like Natalie: Totally. It's a lot. It's so exp I was saw three hundred dollars. I was like, what the hell? Camilla: I know it's insane. Two, I'm like, it looks so cozy that I actually think I would get too hot in it a lot of the time, especially with the kids. Like, I can't really Natalie: Hmm, yeah. Camilla: imagine myself. Okay, so you guys, just for like reference, if you want to go on Columbia.com right now, they have like a puffer that is, I would say calf length, knee length, calf length. What would you say? Natalie: E Camilla: It's below the knee. Natalie: it's below the knee. Yeah, maybe calf, lower calf. Camilla: Yeah. Probably depending how tall you are. And it is like a super Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: puffer. it's one of those puffies that's like every puff is a big puff. And it does look like a sleeping bag. Natalie: Yeah, remember when we were young and there were like those North Face jackets that were like 300, 600, Camilla: Yes. Natalie: 900 rating, whatever the hell that meant, like the amount of fill. It's like Camilla: Yes, yes. The puff or whatever, yeah. Natalie: yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like it's like it's like that, but it's full body. Uh-huh. Yeah. Camilla: It's a big puff. It's full body puff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so, like t a few things. One, I do just know visually it would turn me into a literal marshmallow, which like I actually don't really have a problem with at this point in my life. If anything, Natalie: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Camilla: maybe I aspire. But Natalie: Cozy is key. Camilla: I do think there would be times that I'd be like, I would laugh at myself. Like I'd see my reflection and be like, this is insane. Like I've Natalie: It's a lot. Camilla: I've essentially added a a full four inch on all the way around my body. And Natalie: And Camilla: so I think there would be times I wouldn't feel necessarily hot to trot in it. Like I think there would be, I think Natalie: Yeah, so Camilla: I might get in my head sometimes. And to spend Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: $300 on a jacket, I'm like, it makes more sense to spend $300 on something that I can wear. From the moment the weather turns until spring hits, than to spend three hundred dollars on a jacket that I can wear on the few coldest days. Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: So anyway, I just sort of went back and forth. So I did end up getting a long puffer, but it's just much less puff. It's like a smaller puff. And it was a hundred bucks. Yeah, Natalie: Okay. And is it Columbia or is it? Camilla: it's Columbia. So it was a third of the price. And I'll wear it wore. It Natalie: Okay. Well yeah. It's a nanopuff. Yeah. Camilla: doesn't call itself a nano puff, but I would call it a nano Natalie: okay. Camilla: puff. Natalie: Yeah, yeah. I do have a like thigh length Columbia. I think it mine is a nano. I don't know. It's similar, probably. Camilla: Yeah, yeah. Natalie: and like it's great, but it's not like super toasty warm. Like I'm still cold when I put it on sometimes on Camilla: Yeah, yeah. Natalie: like the really cold days. So when you sent me that link, Camilla: Mm-hmm. Natalie: I was like, I think I Camilla: I need it. Natalie: it was, I was like, yeah, I need I'm gonna need this for the cold mornings when I have to let the dogs out. Like I Camilla: Well, honestly, you have far more reason to get it than me. Natalie: It's cold here usually. Like it's yeah, but Camilla: You just do. Way fucking colder. You get colder than me. You're outside more than me, I have no doubt. And you're gonna be in Indianapolis. Isn't it fucking cold as hell there in the winter? Natalie: God, I don't know. Camilla: I guess I don't really know either Natalie: Should we look that up? Camilla: and I just assumed that. Yeah, let's Google it. Can you look at it here, let me look on my laptop. Natalie: Because somebody okay. Yeah, that would be helpful. somebody Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: literally today on a meeting, I was wearing not this, but a different sweater. Camilla: Mm. Natalie: and they were like, you look really like cozy warm. Is it like what's going on or something? You know, it's like, well it's cold here, like there's Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: frost in the grass, the grass was frozen this morning. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: and she was like, it's 75 here. Like, whoa. Camilla: In Indianapolis? Natalie: It was seventy-five there today, yeah. Camilla: my god, yeah, it's like seventy, seventy four, seventy, sixty, fifty nine. Why did Natalie: that seems nice. I wonder though in the winter it probably gets cold. Camilla: we're come we're heading we're heading to winter. I'm Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: surpr what are winters like in Natalie: Av average winter temps, maybe? Camilla: in Indianapolis? Let's see. Winters in Indianapolis Natalie: You know what I will say about my trips? Camilla: are cold, cloudy, and variable variable, typically running from December through February. January is the coldest month with an average daily of thirty six. You're good. Natalie: Wow. Average daily of 36. Like it's already been 36 at night here, I feel like. Hmm. Camilla: Yeah, I I think it's n turns out not that cold. Natalie: colder here than Camilla: Mm. Okay, well never you don't Natalie: You know it really Camilla: have the Indianapolis excuse, but you should still buy it. Natalie: I don't have the Indianapolis excuse, but I do think it would be good for here, honestly. So Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: I don't really want to spend $300 on a jacket, though. I have so many jackets. And I know this because Camilla: No. Natalie: I've been compiling all of my clothing and packing a little bit. Which, like by packing, Camilla: Packing. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Natalie: I mean this past weekend on one of the days I went to my old apartment. I, as we do. Hoisted my dresser solo. you know, through my apartment. Camilla: Of course. Of course. Now was it full of clothes? Natalie: No, I had emptied the clothes out. I and I did the smart thing. I like took all the drawers out. I took all the drawers down separately, Camilla: you've we've grown. We've grown. Nice. Natalie: and then I like hoofed the dresser onto one of my shoulders and back basically and like hobbled down the steps. So then I loaded it into the car. Camilla: Of course. Mm-hmm. Natalie: And now it's like beautifully installed in my I was getting so sick of my clothes being on the floor here. Like it's okay when my clothes are Camilla: Yeah. I hate it. Natalie: on the floor when I want them to be on the floor, but like I don't like doing Camilla: Yes, but the moment you're done with them on the floor, they gotta be put away. Natalie: You they need to be, yeah. So I was like, I can't do this anymore. I have to have Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: my addresser here. I can't wait for the movers. where was I going? so anyways, I was looking at when I did that, of course, everything in my like coat closet out I just like picked up off Camilla: Mm. Natalie: of the rack, lifted them, folded Camilla: Yeah, yeah. Natalie: them in the car. I have so many Camilla: Mm-hmm. Natalie: coats that I just I mean, I guess they all get worn, but it's crazy. How I am like, I need that. I need this. I don't have one of those, but okay, I don't have that exact thing, but I have a million other things that serve similar purpose. Yeah, it's Camilla: Just like it the work just as well. Yeah. Natalie: like, okay, well, this is what advertising and Sales are doing to me. Camilla: Yeah, and all of us. Natalie: So yeah, Yeah. You want to be dry. Yeah. You're gonna have to drop it in the app details so people can see what you got. We could wear it to the next episode and show everybody. Camilla: Because it's supposed to come this week. Yeah, I'll be wearing it. We'll do show which by the way, you guys, our episodes are on YouTube now. Supposedly. Yeah. I ber I barely knew it. I got a notification your your episodes have been uploaded to YouTube. So I haven't checked, but it says they're there. I know. I actually need to go and check because it's like, is it just the audio? It a lot of our episodes are just audio. So I don't know. I need a gunlet. Natalie: Right. And which episodes? All of them or just the ones that have been recorded Camilla: All of them. Natalie: in Riverside? Camilla: All of 'Cause I transferred our whole hosting over to Riverside so we didn't have Natalie: Right. That's right. Yeah. Camilla: to pay the yearly pod bean thing. So now we just pay for Riverside. Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: And well, Natalie: Cool. Camilla: Riverside said, Do you want them on YouTube? And I said, Sure. So Natalie: Okay, well let me just do a little like everybody if you're able to and you're like not behind the wheel or something, let's give Camilla a round of applause. Camilla: my God. Bow, Bow, Bow. Natalie: For for all of her hard work because really you've kept it going, you're doing all the hard work, you're getting things set up, you're doing all Camilla: Well Natalie: the logistics. So like, kudos, girl. Camilla: That's very generous. And I could really easily be like, Yeah, it's been a lot, but like I wanna do it. The truth is I it's so minimal. It's really so Natalie: Mm. Camilla: little effort on my part. There was a time when the podcast was a lot of effort on my end. We're not Natalie: Yeah, sure. Camilla: in that phase right now. It's a lot of it feels very easy. but I I'll take a congrats anytime. Natalie: Yeah, thank you. I really congrats and and thank you. I mean, damn. Camilla: I'm happy to take some praise deserved or not. of course, thank you. Natalie: okay, I'm just gonna really quickly because I'm staring at it, I'm gonna mention, like now, not sponsored. So like I'm not, you know, Camilla: Okay. Yet Natalie: this you mentioned this like sweater, cardigan, whatever it is, when we first got on. It's just like a brown, and I like Camilla: Cardigan. Yes. So pretty. Yeah. Natalie: actually do really the buttons. It's cute. Camilla: I love them too. Where's it from? Natalie: it's a newly item. Now we texted recently, yeah, Camilla: Okay. Natalie: about newly and whether or not like I had enjoyed Camilla: Mm-hmm. Natalie: my experience so far. And I think my response Camilla: Yeah Natalie: was like, I don't know. Sometimes I'm like really disappointed, but there have been boxes also that I've like really loved items or whatever. This Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: is the first time now. I can't say this in complete, absolutes, but this is the first time that almost every single item that I got in the thing, I'm like, I like this. I like this. I like this. I like this. Camilla: I kinda wanna keep this. Natalie: There's six items, five of them I really like. There the Camilla: Whoa. Natalie: sixth item I also really like, but they sent me the wrong size. So I like sent them an email and said, Hey, you sent me the wrong size. So I'm hoping that they'll send me the correct size. But Camilla: And you selected it all, right? It's not like Stitch Fix where they choose. you chose those items. Natalie: Yeah. Right. I chose the items. Yeah. And maybe that's maybe it's partly because I'm like getting better at picking what I actually might. Camilla: Mmm yeah yeah. Natalie: 'Cause that's the one of the annoying things about it to me is I used to love online shopping. I used to love shopping, but now Camilla: You have to pack. Hm. Yeah. Natalie: it just feels like another thing I have to do is like search through all of these Camilla: I know. Natalie: different fucking pages of clothes and like Camilla: So many peop places, so much money, so many choices. Yeah. Natalie: This, that yeah, and so anyways, I I guess Camilla: Now can I ask what fabric that cardigan is? Natalie: and I I was just looking at the tag before not but when I put it on. Camilla: Mm. Natalie: it's like 70% guess. Camilla: polyester. Natalie: I'll wait, let me let me before I answer, let me Camilla: Acrylic. Natalie: let me tell you the the like wash instructions. Because I when I put it on, I was like, Camilla: Brand. okay, yeah. Natalie: I was like, I like this. Like if the wash and I in my mind I was like, if the wash instructions are something that I will do, I'll allow myself to keep it. Cause like Camilla: Yeah. To keep it. Natalie: with newly, if you don't know and you're listening, you Pay a rental fee, basically. You get shipped items that you pick out. And if you want to purchase those items, you get them at a discounted in quotes price. It's still, you know, it's not like you're Camilla: Yeah. It's still money. Natalie: getting it, it's still money. so, anyways, so I was like, I like this. I put it on if it's well, blah, blah, blah. I look at the tag. store, one of the one of the tags says store flat. And Camilla: Okay. Natalie: and then the wash instructions are hand wash cold. Camilla: Okay. Natalie: tumble dry low or lay flat to dry and reshape. Camilla: Okay. okay. So that tells me there's wool in there. Now how itchy is it? Natalie: It's okay. It's not the itchiest thing I've ever worn. Like on a scale of Camilla: Okay. Natalie: like one to my I'm my skin is gonna crawl. It like feels like it's crawling. Probably Camilla: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Natalie: Probably a six and a half. Camilla: Are you bare skinned under that right now? Natalie: Yeah, I have a bra on, but nothing else. Camilla: Okay. Okay. And now you you mentioned that Natalie: Now one Camilla: it's seventy percent something. Natalie: I did, yeah. It was seventy percent something. Camilla: Okay, now here's the thing. Natalie: Sixty nine, sixty nine percent, but I'm just rounding up. Camilla: Yeah, of course. 69%. Now I'd be kind. Does it have a lining, or it's all the same fabric? Natalie: It's all the same fabric. Camilla: Okay. okay. I I think if I had to guess Natalie: And I'll get a little closer. Camilla: Yeah, yeah. I can see a little bit. it's a little blurry, so I can't unfortunately the camera isn't gonna give me any hints, but I'm gonna go Natalie: Damn. Camilla: ahead and guess that it's 31% wool, 69% acrylic. Natalie: I really I want to take it off and look. it's 69% polyester. What? Camilla: Because you can't see? Okay, yeah. 'Cause you c is it not on the s t side right that you can see? Natalie: wait, it is on the side. Okay, wait, it's on the side. Camilla: Okay. Natalie: Okay. wait, wait, wait, wait. Yeah. 69% recycled polyester. The next ingredient Camilla: Paul yester, yeah. Natalie: is 23% Camilla: Ingredient. Well. Natalie: material. The next the next is acrylic. 23% acrylic. Camilla: my god. Natalie: 6%. Camilla: Whoa. Natalie: Wall six percent wool. Camilla: That's why they can say wool blend. See, this is what pisses me off. This is what really, really grinds my gear. Natalie: Two percent Illistine? What the hell is that? Elastic. Camilla: Like it's an elastic. So if there's any elastic on it, that's that's how they get some stretch in there, you know? Like, okay, but here's what it really this makes me so mad. And like, look, Natalie: Yeah, tell us. I wanna know. Camilla: I'm not a textiles designer or engineer or whatever scientist. I don't fucking know really. But what I will say Natalie: Right. Who makes it? Camilla: is like. If you if the majority of the fabric is plastic, acrylic is plastic, polyester is plastic. Natalie: Right. Camilla: One, you can make that shit soft as butter. Like that is the most amenable. Like you can make Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: it whatever you want it to be. It's plastic. So Natalie: So it's like, why does it have to be itchy? Camilla: why is it even an ounce itchy? Do you know what I mean? Like you could just Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: and and and also, and also. If you're gonna put wool in there, just make it a fucking wool sweater. And then it's like, I'll suck up that it sucks to wash this and hang it because it's wool. So it's gonna do all the good Natalie: Right. Camilla: temperature shit that wool does. It's going to like make me cool if I need to, if it's hot outside and keep me warm, if it's cold outside and be all Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: of the the amazing aspects of wool. But if you give me what, six percent wool, well, then I'm hand washing a plastic. Sweater with a dot of wool in it and I'm reshaping it because what? Because you wanted to say it was wool blend? Natalie: Right. I now also like oopsie, I have a bone to pick with how expensive I assume this thing is. Like I am guessing when I I'm Camilla: Yes. I bet it's a hundred bucks. Natalie: gonna and I will put it, I can't I guess I could probably look at it on my Camilla: What's the brand? Natalie: phone. Some brand I've never heard of, but it seemed fancy. It had like a really fancy label. Camilla: I love a fancy label. Natalie: Yeah, I know. I saw the label and I instantly was like, I'm gonna want this. Camilla: Yeah. I bet I can find Natalie: Let's see, I'll Camilla: it online. Natalie: Are it's it's so splurry. Camilla: I'm not gonna able to see because of the camera quality. Br yeah, brown cardigan newly. Natalie: Newly. It has round buttons. Camilla: Buttons, yeah. I'll know it the Natalie: I can't fucking see it. Camilla: second I see it. the Natalie: I'm gonna look on my phone. Camilla: Not that one, but that's pretty cute. my god, there is it Eritzia? Natalie: No. Camilla: Doesn't Natalie: I've probably fucked up the Camilla: You a Retzia. Natalie: video. Camilla: Well, there's so many options. Everly Uniqlo Well, here was here I was thinking that New Lee would have five brown sweaters. Turns out they have hundreds of brown sweaters. Natalie: Okay, it's called a Ridley Knit Cardigan. The brand is French Connection. The origin Camilla: French connection. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Natalie: Do you know that brand? cool. Okay. Camilla: Fancy. Yeah, but it's like even this pisses me off. why is a French Connection sweater not wool? Like, why are you doing that? Natalie: It's it's thirty percent off. Like if I wanted to purchase this, it's thirty percent off. The listed price is a hundred and thirty something dollars. So the the sale price is ninety-six dollars. Camilla: Yeah. Well, let me read to you. It's on Nordstrom in gray, and there is one fi one one star review. And they wrote nothing, just gave it one star. Nothing, unfortunately, Natalie: What does it say? they hated it. Camilla: I wish. Sixty-nine recycled polyester, twenty three percent acrylic, six percent wool, two percent spandex, machine wash, line dry. But that's obviously not true because you have a tag. Natalie: Yeah, it says hand wash cold. Camilla: yeah, it's so annoying. It's this is really I have got so much beef with the textiles industry because none of that makes sense. None of it makes sense to me. I just don't understand it. And I tried to watch some video Natalie: It's just a scam. It's all a scam. Camilla: to like learn more about it. And this man who's been in like Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: manufacturing of textiles forever for generations. was saying, look, there's there's such a great place in textiles for things like polyester, nylon, acrylic. And the place for those things is moisture wicking. Like if you're going outdoors on like a big hike, you don't want to be Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: wearing cotton. Like you need to be wearing polyester. If you're running Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: or doing something athletic, like polyester, that's that's why it's there. But do you want polyester next to your skin while you're sleeping? No. Like why would you? It's not even doing the intended Natalie: Right. The re per yeah. Exactly. Camilla: thing that that fabric is supposed to do. So like, you know, ever there's a place for everything. But then I just look at this and I'm like, well, why is this beautiful knit cardigan that is not cheap? It's not cheap. It's not easy to care for. Natalie: It's not cheap. No. Camilla: But it was cheap for the manufacturer. And that's why it's just about profit margin. Like they can make a shit ton of money. And then if you complain Natalie: Right. Yeah. Yeah. Camilla: that the sweater looks weird, they're like, did you cold wash it and reshape it after flat drying it? It's like, Natalie: Your fault. Camilla: Yeah, no, because I have a job and things to do. Natalie: Right. And two fucking puppies that are really demanding. Camilla: And I'm a full time dog mom. How am I supposed to Natalie: So chill. What would you? Camilla: cold hand wash a sweater? It's It's crazy. Natalie: I can barely cold hand wash the dogs. Yeah, it is crazy. But I will say I was impressed with my shipment this time. So yeah. Camilla: Yeah, and I love that. Now, have you ever looked up your items on Poshmark or Vinted or something? Like looked looked for them used in a different place to see if you could get them even cheaper than newly? Natalie: No, but I should. I the whole Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: I really should. And and maybe what I need to do is like I I think sometimes those places, those types of like resale place, I'm always just like, it's so much work. You have to like, but it's Camilla: I know. Natalie: not for the buyer. Like for the buyer, it's really not. So I as a consumer, Camilla: No. It's easy as pie. Natalie: like I should do be looking there first, always. Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: In my mind, I'm like, God, I have so many nice things that I just don't wear anymore. I don't want, or they don't fit the way that I want them to anymore. So Camilla: I know. Natalie: I just want to sell them. But like then it comes down to like Camilla: Mm. Natalie: actually doing the thing to sell them. And it I just Camilla: I know. Natalie: I'm like, fuck, I don't want to deal with this. So Camilla: Yeah, unfortunately, I've decided that for me, I I I'm not in a space in my life where I can sell my clothes online. Partially, quite honestly, because I don't have nice enough stuff that I'm really gonna cut much of a profit. So it's just not worth my time and effort to still keep in store Natalie: Sure. It doesn't feel worth it. Yeah. Camilla: the clothes for an occasional 10 bucks, maybe. Like it's not Natalie: Right. Right. Camilla: worth it. That being said, I'm really grateful for the people who do sell online because Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: It's nice to get good stuff at a discounted price. Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: And I am trying to retrain myself to find things used first. And then if I can't find the thing I want used, going the opposite direction. This morning when I was at Goodwill, Calvin needs a winter jacket. And I was like, I should just look here. They had this pristine LL Bean sweater in, or not sweater, jacket in his size. It was like Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: perfect. Fit him like a glove, really cute. $7.99. It's like, yeah, I'm buying Natalie: Love. my gosh. Love L L bean. Camilla: this. wow, steel. Same. So I'm like, it was a good reminder to me. Natalie: one of my friends is working at an L L bean factory now. She's doing like embroidery Camilla: W dare I say who? Natalie: on bags and stuff. Michelle, yeah. They moved to Maine and she didn't want to like Camilla: my god That's so cool they did Natalie: yeah. Camilla: my god. You I think you mentioned Natalie: Did you know that? I thought you knew that, but Camilla: that they were going to or were thinking about it, but I don't know for sure. That's really exciting. Natalie: Okay. Yeah. Yeah. When did they officially move? They haven't done a full year yet there. It's been maybe six months ish, I think. So yeah. Yeah. Camilla: Interesting. One of my massage school friends just texted me the other day and said her and her husband and their kids are thinking about moving to Maine. Natalie: interesting. They really love it have loved it so far. Yeah. Camilla: Max mass exodus to Maine, I guess. I only see and hear good things about Maine. Natalie: Yeah. Yeah. Camilla: I've never been, but it looks beautiful and Natalie: Me neither. I would really like to go though. Now I have a good excuse. Camilla: Yeah, well it sounds like you have an excuse, yeah. Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: Okay, well is there anything else you'd like to share with the class before we wrap up? Natalie: Well, I don't have any well no, I don't have like literally nothing other than the dogs, my life has is like that's what our lives have turned into the last couple of weeks. And like, you know, that's okay. It's Camilla: Yeah. Naturally. Natalie: it's just a season, it's a phase. but I was hoping to maybe hear a little bit about Playgroup because I think in the last couple of weeks you started to facilitate Playgroup and I think last Camilla: Mm-hmm. Natalie: wasn't this past Friday the first or maybe second meetup? Camilla: Third. We've done three now. Every Friday morning. So last Natalie: Wow, okay. Camilla: Friday was the most recent. It was definitely the best, but it was partially the best because my friend and her two Shawned and her two kids came. and Natalie: yeah, nice. Camilla: and her husband. So like it really helped. There were two two other families that had come to meet, and then a family that just happened to be there that didn't know anything about it, but like another family with kids. And Natalie: okay. Yeah. Camilla: I think had Sean Ed and her crew not come, I would have had to do a lot of like stilted socializing, this person, this. Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: yeah, kids here, like while navigating the whole kid thing. But Natalie: Yeah, yeah. Camilla: so luckily, Shawned and I had met for coffee that morning and she's like, I'll just bring the kids, we'll come. And that Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: was perfect because our sons are great friends. So like they were playing and super happy together and Natalie: Nice. That's awesome. Camilla: Sean Ed's husband was like talking to one of the dads. And so they were having a great conversation. And it was just like it was nice to have another social buffer So Natalie: Yeah, yeah. Camilla: it's going really well. I'm like a little apprehensive for this Friday because it's supposed to be raining. And I don't think Sean Ed and her crew can come, although I'll definitely be texting. Natalie: Right. Camilla: so I don't know what this Friday's gonna be like. I've been really on the fence about doing more advertising for it. I keep thinking like I should just put it on one of the mo big mom Facebook groups and be like, this is what I'm doing. I would get so Natalie: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Camilla: many more people coming. But Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: there's a downside to so many more people. You know, it's like Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: there right now there are like two dads who come with their like two kids each. And we kind of have like a like, you know, an easy enough dynamic between us and Natalie: A little mm. Camilla: like we could chat and It's a nice little bubble. but I th I should probably just do more marketing for it. Natalie: Now when you went to the la you went to like the reading, I don't know what they call it at the library, like reading circle. I don't know, like they do story time or something. Camilla: yeah, story time. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Natalie: didn't did you say you ran I'm curio I guess I'm like yeah, Camilla: Yes, I told all the moms in that story group. Natalie: like when you talk to people in per when you meet people and you're like, we have this playgroup, is it Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Natalie: have any of those people showed up? Shown up? Camilla: Yes, not this Natalie: Showed showed up. Camilla: past w week, but the week before the one of the moms, her wife and their daughter came. and that was really nice. That was really nice Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: to chat with them and meet her wife and like get to know her a little more. I've seen her at Story Times and like at the library a lot. She's a full-time caretaker for her cousin as well, who Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: is is a young adult with disabilities, so he's like Natalie: huh, sure. Camilla: She's often pushing him around in his wheelchair. and it was so it was nice to like meet it was, yeah, it was just nice to like Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: learn more about their lives. And I we exchanged phone numbers and I text her last Friday and told her where we were gonna be. And she was like, I'm not gonna make it, but I look forward to coming to another one. So that was a nice like connection. Natalie: Nice. Yeah. Yeah. Camilla: yeah, so it's nice. It's nice and I think it's going well. It's good to socialize and I think it's really good for my kids to see me putting myself out there and like. Meeting people and putting in the effort and doing it, Natalie: Yeah. Yeah. Camilla: even if it's not super fun or free of awkwardness every week, I think it's good for my kids to see that we do it anyway. Natalie: Yeah. Yeah. Camilla: And that's just part of it. So we persevere. Natalie: cool. Camilla: We'll see. Natalie: Good for you. Honestly, I don't know. I'm sure push came to shove, I would be able to do Camilla: Yeah. It's hard. Natalie: something like that, but also that's hard. So again. That's hard. Yeah. People are asking though, f people Camilla: It's hard. It's awkward. It's like uncomfortable. But I do love a good socialization and I love chatting. Natalie: like that type of thing. I would love it if somebody came up to I don't Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: know. I'm just like, I I think When somebody else yourself puts themselves out there and extends an olive branch and is like, Hey, I'm Camilla: Mm-hmm. Natalie: thinking about doing this. Would you be interested? If not, no worries. But that takes a lot of courage. And Camilla: Yeah. Yeah. Natalie: so I'm sure it's good for your kids to see that too. Camilla: So too. And it's like, this is what community is about. It's really easy to be like, I wish we had community. It's like, well, then you make it. You know, it's like it Natalie: You gotta make it. Yeah. Totally. Camilla: doesn't really just happen by wishing. I Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: think it can, but it takes many more years. It happens by Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: putting yourself out there, going to the thing that you're like, I would rather stay home and get in my cozies and like watch the TV show I'm interested in. my god, I have one more thing to say. Okay, I'll come back to that. But anyway. Natalie: Yeah. Okay. Okay. Camilla: But instead being like, okay, I have to put on clothes and I should go out and I should make an effort, that's what adds up, Anyway, Natalie: Yeah. Yeah, totally. Camilla: okay, let me talk about this for a second. Now, I Natalie: Okay. Camilla: this might be one of your blind spots, how you are with like some things. Have Natalie: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yep. Camilla: you heard much about the you can see everything movie? Natalie: Nope, nothing. Camilla: No. Okay, great. Honestly, that makes me so happy. Natalie: Don't even know. Okay. Camilla: Because, okay, so let me just, you know, I'm sure a lot of people listening will already know and probably have already seen it. There is a new documentary Natalie: Okay. Camilla: in the movie theaters. It's a Nathan Fielder documentary. Ricky and I love Nathan Fielder. It's a Natalie: Okay. Okay. Camilla: three-hour documentary about Elizabeth Holmes. Okay, fine. And there was there's all this hype Natalie: Okay. Camilla: for it. Tons of people are seeing it. It's supposed to be. Incredible, mind blowing, whatever. just Natalie: Okay. Okay. Camilla: so everybody is fucking talking about this movie. My brothers are talking about the movie. Everyone in my book group is talking about this movie. It is three Natalie: Okay. Camilla: and a half hours in the movie theater. There is just no way for me to do that. Like, and I know Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: that some parents, some people, a lot of people without kids and some people with kids will be like, why can't you do that? Because I can't. I just it will be four hours. Natalie: Sure. Camilla: I don't even know where in my life I would find four hours to go to a movie theater. And even if I did, Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: that would mean Ricky is home with our kids. So I wouldn't even have someone to talk to about it. And then he would have to go. And then I'm alone with the kids for four additional hours. I'm good. Like it's just, it's just not possible. That being said, Natalie: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's too much yeah. Sure. Camilla: we are both desperate to see this movie. And everyone who sees it is like, you just go in blind. Make sure you know nothing going in. Yeah, okay, that's easy to say, but no one will shut up about this movie. And today, now I hope no one in my book group listens to this podcast. I don't think they do. And if you do, Natalie: Okay. Camilla: this is it's not about you. It's this isn't personal. It's just a f but I'm just over it. Like the group chat is like, my Natalie: Okay, yeah. Camilla: God, I can't stop thinking about the movie. Should we have a second meetup just to talk about the movie? I'll bring snacks. my God. We need to. And I'm like, Natalie: Okay. Camilla: today I was literally like, should I just leave the chat? Should I was do you want do you guys want me to just leave the chat Natalie: my god. Camilla: so you can actually talk about it here? Because I can't see this. And like, thank God there is another mom in the group chat who's like, sorry guys, like I'm not gonna be able to see a three and a half hour movie until it's streaming. Like that's just not on the cards for me. Thank God. Natalie: Yeah. Right, right. Camilla: So at least I'm not alone, but I'm just like, shut. The fuck up already. I am begging you all to shut up. And of course, like all Natalie: You're like, I've already said I interesting. I literally have. Camilla: of my feelings around this are the fact that I can't see it, that I really want to see it and I can't see it. Natalie: Yeah, yeah. Camilla: It's just jealousy. But like it is jealousy. Like a book group of the weekend, they're Natalie: I was just gonna say that bright side song. Camilla: all buying their tickets. Uh-huh. Let's all go see it at the same time. I'm like, mm, must be nice. Okay. Well, you know. Anyway. Natalie: When is it gonna become streaming? Have you at least looked that up? Have you looked up when it will stream? Camilla: If you guys feel like going to see a movie Yeah, it looks like we'll be able to Yeah, w looks like we'll be able to buy it November twenty fourth or something. Natalie: Okay, perfect. Perfect time for the holidays. You know what I mean? Not too far. Camilla: Not too far. Exactly. Natalie: Something to look forward to. You know. It'll be here before you know it. Well Camilla: Totally. It's just insane. I know. And that it's such a stupid frant, but I'm just sharing in case there's anyone out there who can relate. Natalie: I vow right now to not see it until you've had the opportunity to see it. Camilla: You are such a good friend. I mean, Natalie: I just Camilla: I'm sure also as someone with puppies, you're like, where the fuck would I find four hours to go and see a movie? Natalie: Yeah, or in my head I also am like, wow, it might be nice to leave them in their crates and leave for four hours so that they can get used to it. But I yeah, I probably not. Camilla: There you go. On a weekend? Natalie: Yeah. Next weekend. No, I I'll wait. I'm gonna wait until I can watch it at home. Camilla: Honestly, you could just don't tell me. Yeah, I know, I know. Natalie: Okay, that's fair. That's fair. Okay, I did have this thought earlier. Maybe we can Camilla: It is supposed to be really good. Natalie: we can close out with this, perhaps. When we Camilla: Okay, yeah. Natalie: first started, I think we have a little bit of a delay again, but hopefully it will be fine. When we first started our podcast, and like I'm talking, well, I don't know if it was the first first rendition, but it was like I think the first of Currently Curious, which was formerly named Meet Me in the Middle. We Camilla: Okay. Mm-hmm. Natalie: often started our segment with a what are we drinking, what's in our cup, And so I thought, Camilla: yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, mm-hmm. Natalie: because I brought a drink with me up here, I thought I wonder what Camilla's gonna have to drink with her today. Do you have anything with you? Camilla: Water. Natalie: Water tumbler, smart, honestly. That's good. Camilla: What do you have? Natalie: just a classic lemon spindriff. Camilla: Delicious, refreshing. Natalie: Yeah. I think I went through a phase of being like, Spindrift is way the fuck overhyped. and so I didn't Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: have it for a super long time. And actually, like it's I bought a packet somewhere recently. And they've they've been pitting. Camilla: I feel like LaCroix is overhyped. I think Spindrift is appropriately hyped. Natalie: Mm. Yeah. Camilla: To be fair, I haven't really drank either in a very long time. Natalie: Yeah. I think LaCroix is also overhyped, although Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: Sometimes they have better flavors, like the coconut LaCroix, I really like. Camilla: my god, it's been a long time since I had that. I'm gonna get that. That's that's genuinely delicious. Natalie: Yeah. It's yeah, that flavor for some reason is delicious. Yeah. Camilla: I love that flavor. Wow. Thank you for reminding me. I'd completely forgotten. yum. Yeah, it tastes like you're on vacation. Natalie: Yeah. It kind of tastes like a pina colada, I feel like. And like and that's why I think it's vacation LaCroix for sure. Yeah. Camilla: Maybe I should save it for and drink it next summer. okay. And here's the other thing I just want to announce. This is this is my final announcement. We have been doing cre Natalie: Yeah. Okay, let's hear it. Camilla: we've been taking creatine for the last two weeks. And Natalie: yeah, and Camilla: I ha we hadn't been doing creatine previously. And I feel like it has made a noticeable difference in my brain fog. Natalie: That's awesome. Camilla: Yeah. So if anyone's out there Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: I can't remember why I walked into a room, I can't remember why I picked up my phone. I can't remember Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: what the next thing I was supposed to do was, I would say creatine has made like a considerable difference. Natalie: Crazy. Wow. That's cool. I, as Camilla: Yeah. I know. Natalie: I used to and like I would just say like in the last probably month and a half, because of everything that's been going on, I haven't, I don't even know where my my Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: creatine is somewhere in this house, but I have no idea like which tote or what bag or like where did I put it? I was Camilla: Right. Yeah. Natalie: looking for it the other day after a workout, like, where the fuck is my creatine? Couldn't find it. So I'm sure it'll pop Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: up soon. I used to take it every day. Camilla: Mm Natalie: And I feel like I've been having Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: brand fog recently, but I think it's just circumstantial. But maybe if I find it Camilla: Probably. Natalie: and I start taking it again, I will have the same epiphany that you are. Camilla: Hope you do. It's honestly really helped me because I was getting to a point where I was like, I guess this is the mom brain people talk about. I guess this is just my fate. Yeah. And I hated it. It really made me feel like very disoriented. Cheers to Natalie: this is life. Yeah. Well, cheers to creatine. That's great. Ugh. Camilla: creatine and to spindrift and to water and to puppies and to clothing made of nice material and to life Natalie: Life. Yes. Camilla: and to friendship. And I love you. Natalie: I love too. Into community, building your own. Camilla: Community, build the building your own. Yep. Cheers. Amen. Natalie: Thanks for listening, y'all. It's good to be back. I'm sure there will be actually be more Camilla: Thanks for being here. Natalie: soon. Thanks for being here. Thanks for listening. maybe Camilla: Yeah. Natalie: we'll have a topic for you soon. Camilla: I would love that. Maybe Colts Dare Natalie: Yeah. Camilla: I say. Natalie: Dare we say it? Should we tease it? Let's do it. We should do it soon. Let's do it. We're gonna do colts. We don't know if it will be Camilla: Let's tease it. We're doing cults, you guys. Let's do it. Natalie: the exact next released episode, but it is coming this season. We can promise that. Camilla: No. It will be a it will be a an episode coming up. Natalie: Okay, that's fair. Love you. Camilla: Okay, my friend. Okay, chow. Natalie: Ciao. Camilla: Love you.
