• 0:04
Speaker 2: Well, that's the key to the whole entire thing, Sean.
• 0:06

• 0:10
Speaker 2: president is not on the ballot. And we all know
• 0:12
Speaker 2: that Donald Trump is the Republican Party.
• 0:15
  Speaker 1: So our job.
• 0:16
Speaker 2: Between now and election day is to make sure that
• 0:18
Speaker 2: Republicans are motivated, determined, and committed to coming out and
• 0:23
Speaker 2: supporting their president. And at the same time, the American people,
• 0:27
Speaker 2: including independents, including normal Democrats, including Reagan Democrats, understand Well,
• 0:33
Speaker 2: you and I discussed tonight, which is how dangerous, extreme,
• 0:36
Speaker 2: and yes, violent, the Democrat Party has become.
• 0:38

• 0:59

• 3:02
  Speaker 3: Story number one.
• 3:03
Speaker 1: Fed up. That is how it's being described as the
• 3:06
Speaker 1: President of the United States of America, Donald Trump is
• 3:09
Speaker 1: threatening to blow the sh you know what out of Iran,
• 3:13
Speaker 1: prompting Tehran to storm out of the US peace talks.
• 3:18
Speaker 1: The Iranian negotiators stormed out of the high level peace
• 3:21
Speaker 1: talks of the US in Switzerland on Sunday after a
• 3:25
Speaker 1: frustrated President Trump unleashed his well fury on the regime,
• 3:29
Speaker 1: threatening to seize the straight UFOM moves and blow the
• 3:32
Speaker 1: blank out of them. The talks were abandoned about at
• 3:36
Speaker 1: eighty minutes after they started, when the discussions entered quote
• 3:41
Speaker 1: unquote a difficult phase following an insulting message by the
• 3:45
Speaker 1: President of the United States of America. That is what
• 3:48
Speaker 1: the Iranian state news agency is reporting at this moment.
• 3:53
Speaker 1: Vice President jd Vance, who was spearheading the negotiations, had
• 3:58
Speaker 1: earlier said that the US to turn over a new
• 4:01
Speaker 1: leaf with the Islamic Republic. The talks in Katari owned
• 4:07
Speaker 1: mountaintop resort in Switzerland were the first to be held
• 4:10
Speaker 1: under the terms of the Memo of Understanding that was
• 4:13
Speaker 1: agreed a week ago. But hopes of progress, well, that
• 4:18
Speaker 1: was swiftly dashed, as it's being reported by Iranian state media,
• 4:22
Speaker 1: and the diplomatic efforts were cut off when Trump, who
• 4:25
Speaker 1: had been criticized for being too soft on the regime
• 4:28
Speaker 1: with the MoU, warned that the US would hammer rant
• 4:32
Speaker 1: if it didn't open the straight UPFOM moves and rein
• 4:35
Speaker 1: in its terrorist proxies. Now again, all this is breaking
• 4:40
Speaker 1: as I'm recording this. The present's most explicit warning was
• 4:45
Speaker 1: aimed directly at Tehran's diplomats in Switzerland. Quote, you won't
• 4:50
Speaker 1: even make it back to your blanking country, is what
• 4:54
Speaker 1: an rate. Trump told Iranian leaders that, according to Fox
• 4:57
Speaker 1: News correspondent who was there, you close it, referring to
• 5:01
Speaker 1: the Strait of Hormuz, and you won't have a country.
• 5:05
Speaker 1: We may take over the strait if we have to.
• 5:09
Speaker 1: I'll blow the blank out of them yet again, referring
• 5:13
Speaker 1: to Iran. Now, Iran's Revolutionary Guard had claimed Saturday that
• 5:18
Speaker 1: it was shutting down the critical waterway due to the
• 5:21
Speaker 1: continued fighting in Lebanon. Iran also came into the peace
• 5:26
Speaker 1: talks on Sunday, wanting to prioritize discussions about Lebanon, where
• 5:31
Speaker 1: Israel's military has been fighting the Iranian backed Hesblah militant
• 5:37
Speaker 1: terrorist group. Now, the talks were supposed to address Tehran's
• 5:41
Speaker 1: nuclear program and the reopening of the strait. However, Iran
• 5:47
Speaker 1: said there could be no start to the next phase
• 5:50
Speaker 1: of negotiations until the fighting ends. That is what the
• 5:54
Speaker 1: States News Agency reported. Trump also took the true so
• 6:00
Speaker 1: to let out his anger, blaming Iran for the fighting
• 6:04
Speaker 1: and demanding that the regime keep has Blah in line
• 6:08
Speaker 1: sang quote. Aram US immediately stopped their highly paid proxies
• 6:12
Speaker 1: in Lebanon from causing trouble. If they don't, we'll hit
• 6:16
Speaker 1: Iran very hard again, just like we did last week,
• 6:21
Speaker 1: only harder with three exclamation points. Now. The Islamic Republic's
• 6:27
Speaker 1: chief negotiator and head of Iran's parliament slammed Trump's threats
• 6:32
Speaker 1: as an active desperation. Sang quote. We don't take the
• 6:37
Speaker 1: American's threats seriously. He went on to warn the present
• 6:42
Speaker 1: that any force would be met in kind quote unquote.
• 6:47
Speaker 1: They had better watch their statements, he hit back. Our
• 6:51
Speaker 1: armed forces are ready to respond in another way whatever
• 6:56
Speaker 1: they say. We are the ones who will act quote unquote. Now,
• 7:01
Speaker 1: it's obvious things are changing extremely quickly as we speak.
• 7:05
Speaker 1: We also know that Iran and other of their top
• 7:08
Speaker 1: negotiators also refused to participate. We're now being told in
• 7:13
Speaker 1: a scheduled handshake and a joint photo session event with
• 7:18
Speaker 1: the US team that according to Iran's news agency, the
• 7:22
Speaker 1: officials described the photo op as an American media show
• 7:25
Speaker 1: quote unquote, with the optics, raising worries that the US
• 7:29
Speaker 1: fumbled the start of the negotiations. This is again breaking
• 7:34
Speaker 1: as we speak. US officials, ever, claimed there was no
• 7:37
Speaker 1: snob and that Iran was merely spreading opportunistic propaganda to
• 7:43
Speaker 1: the world. The US delegation in Switzerland was being led
• 7:48
Speaker 1: by JD. Vance, along with a special envoy, Steve Wiskoff
• 7:51
Speaker 1: and Trump's son in law Jared Kushner. A senior US
• 7:56
Speaker 1: diplomat engaged in the negotiations, later downplayed the diplomatic row,
• 8:00
Speaker 1: insisting that the peace talks remain ongoing, saying the Iranian
• 8:04
Speaker 1: delegation is still at the negotiating venue and the US
• 8:08
Speaker 1: delegation expects to continue working through the night, adding that
• 8:12
Speaker 1: the discussions have included clarifying some of the confusing messaging
• 8:16
Speaker 1: from Iran on the Strait and building deconflicting mechanisms to
• 8:21
Speaker 1: ensure the strait will remain fully open. Quote. We have
• 8:26
Speaker 1: also worked through de conflictation mechanisms and enforcing the ceasefire
• 8:31
Speaker 1: in southern Lebanon. The diplomat confirmed the talk Sunday would
• 8:36
Speaker 1: be used as a starting point for ongoing technical talks
• 8:40
Speaker 1: going forward. The officials added, what's clear is right now
• 8:45
Speaker 1: things are extremely fluid, and by the time you hear
• 8:48
Speaker 1: this well, it may have changed because of how quick
• 8:51
Speaker 1: the news is changing right now.
• 8:53
Speaker 3: In Switzerland now story number two.
• 8:56
Speaker 1: A majority of Americans want the United States of America
• 8:59
Speaker 1: to in the war with Iran. Now that according to
• 9:03
Speaker 1: a new CBS you gov poll that has just come out.
• 9:07
Speaker 1: The survey, which was taken Wednesday through Friday, ask participants,
• 9:11
Speaker 1: quote the conflict with Iran, what should the US do now?
• 9:17
Speaker 1: Seventy eight percent, I'm gonna say that number again, Seventy
• 9:21
Speaker 1: eight percent said the nation should end the conflict now.
• 9:25
Speaker 1: Twenty two percent said that to continue the conflict until
• 9:28
Speaker 1: Iran gives up more. Now, these are very, very very
• 9:32
Speaker 1: big numbers, to say the least. The poll also surveyed Republicans,
• 9:37
Speaker 1: asking them what should the US do now? Here's a
• 9:41
Speaker 1: very interesting part of that poll as well. Sixty percent
• 9:45
Speaker 1: of all Republicans said the nation should end the conflict now,
• 9:49
Speaker 1: and fifty six percent of MAGA Republicans also agreed. Mean
• 9:53
Speaker 1: the majority of people that voted for Donald Trump. Forty
• 9:57
Speaker 1: percent of Republicans said the nation should continue the conflict
• 10:00
Speaker 1: until Iran gives up more, and forty four percent of
• 10:04
Speaker 1: MAGA Republicans agreed as well. When broken out now, the
• 10:08
Speaker 1: CBS News you gov survey. It was conducted with a
• 10:11
Speaker 1: nationally represented sample of two thousand, five hundred and nineteen
• 10:16
Speaker 1: US adults interview between June the seventeenth and nineteenth, and
• 10:20
Speaker 1: the sample was weighted to be representative of adults nationwide
• 10:24
Speaker 1: according to gender, age, race, education, and it was based
• 10:28
Speaker 1: on the US Census, American Community Survey, and Current Population Survey.
• 10:32
Speaker 1: Meaning this is a poll that is very interesting and
• 10:36
Speaker 1: worth looking at now. The news of the poll also
• 10:39
Speaker 1: came after President Donald Trump signed his copy of the
• 10:42
Speaker 1: Memorandum of Understanding or the MoU to end the hostilities
• 10:47
Speaker 1: with Iran following the G seven on Wednesday, with the
• 10:51
Speaker 1: Iranian present signing his copy remotely. That is the latest
• 10:55
Speaker 1: news that's been reported on that now. The outlet set
• 10:58
Speaker 1: a national survey found the signed preliminary agreement had a
• 11:03
Speaker 1: strong majority approval rating among American voters as well. President
• 11:08
Speaker 1: Trump confirmed that he had signed the MoU and some
• 11:10
Speaker 1: details would quote be ironed out in the next sixty days.
• 11:15
Speaker 1: The deal is all signed and the straight uform move
• 11:17
Speaker 1: is already partially open. As you know, they're doing a
• 11:20
Speaker 1: little hunting for a couple of minds that they've already found.
• 11:23
Speaker 1: But it's essentially ships are starting to go out now.
• 11:27
Speaker 1: On Friday, it will be completely open, the President promise,
• 11:31
Speaker 1: saying this. We got along very well with Iran. It's
• 11:34
Speaker 1: a different set of leaders, as you know. The first
• 11:36
Speaker 1: set is gone, the second set is gone, and we
• 11:39
Speaker 1: found the third set to be very smart, strong, very smart.
• 11:43
Speaker 1: But we ended up making a deal. I felt badly
• 11:46
Speaker 1: that we had to go back on the attack for
• 11:48
Speaker 1: two nights, and I thought a third, but we made
• 11:51
Speaker 1: it before that happened. But I think a lot of
• 11:54
Speaker 1: great things are going to happen with the Middle East
• 11:56
Speaker 1: right now. And very importantly, the oil is plummeting down
• 12:00
Speaker 1: and the stock market is shooting up like a rocket today,
• 12:03
Speaker 1: like record kind of numbers, the President added. Now Vice
• 12:07
Speaker 1: President JD. Vance a ride in Switzerland early on Sunday
• 12:11
Speaker 1: for the first direct US Iranian talk census signing of
• 12:14
Speaker 1: the memory of understanding. The negotiations will play out against
• 12:18
Speaker 1: a backdrop of obviously the rising tensions, specifically over the
• 12:22
Speaker 1: Strait of Hormuz, and then the renewed fighting between the
• 12:25
Speaker 1: iranback hesbla terrorist group and Israel, threatened to upend the
• 12:30
Speaker 1: fragile diplomatic process as well. Obviously there's a lot happening
• 12:34
  Speaker 1: as we speak.
