- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville jackwars fans welcome in to do all daily presented by jing jack dot com i'm Jordan allure thanks so much for being here Sunday January 11th it's the day we have all been waiting for we are zero sleeps away from your jacks and bill jackwars hosting the buffalo bills wildcard round game and is a huge game for both franchises we've talked about it the jackwars it's good vibes like
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: No matter how this playoff run goes for the Jaguars, it's the first year of a new regime.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: They were 4 and 13 last year.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: They got to 13 and 4.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: They made the playoffs.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: They won their division.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be good vibes in Jacksonville, regardless.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: On the other side of things, the bills have a lot of pressure both internally and externally to go win football games.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: You can talk about the lack of a Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs and all these different things.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: But ultimately, it just comes down to the bills need to win football games in the playoffs.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: They need to show why they need to keep pushing forward with this exact build, right?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of the task at hand for them.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: And no, that's not all on Josh Allen.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: These national narratives about Josh Allen, having to be having to win this football game for you to respect him as a Ryan Clark, all these guys absolutely ridiculous.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Allen's a great quarterback.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence is playing great quarterback right now as well.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to talk about this game a little game day morning preview for y'all.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: The Jag Wars.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday, they elevated wide receiver Tim Jones from the practice squad.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: So, Tim Jones, if you've been following the Jaguars for a while, you know, plenty about him.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's been a special team's guy, but he's also a really good blocker and just a reliable player.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, interesting to see him elevated for sure.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be watching the Colman Landon injury, right?
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be looking to see if Cole van Lannon with that knee injury.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Can he start for the Jaguars and can he play the whole game for them?
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's currently questionable left against the Titans last week.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: And we're trying to see if he's going to be active, right?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: We'll find out officially at 11.30.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't seen any big reports overnight or this weekend here.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I haven't seen any big reports yet from like Adam Shepter, anybody regarding whether or not COVID-19 will go.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's one of those things.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be wait and see.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: And if he can't go, you're going to see Walker little at left tackle Patrick McCary at right guard.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: If
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Cole VanLan and is in the game, who plays that ragguard will be interesting because Walker Little's been manning that spot during Patrick McHerry's injury.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: McHerry's technically the starter.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Walker Little's done a pretty good job there, so don't know which direction they'll go if that ends up being the case, but certainly keep an eye on Cole VanLan and he's the only questionable Jaguar in this one.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: The bills they sign linebacker bail inspector from the practice squad and that is a hell of a name bail inspector love that Placed Josh Palmer.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: Why do you see for Josh Palmer on injured reserve so sounds like you're probably going to see plenty of Gabe Davis Which is pretty wild to think about the Jaguar signed Gabe Davis to a pretty big contract last year This current Jaguar's regime
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: they couldn't get, you know, on the same page with Gabe Davis, it felt like and they just decided, hey, we're going to cut our losses.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to move on.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to eat all the the cap and all those implications.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to release Gabe Davis and move in a different direction.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: So he finds his way back to Buffalo where he cut his teeth in the NFL.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: with the Josh Palmer injury, and, you know, Keon Coleman not become in the player that they were hoping he would be, at least not to this point in his career.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Looks like you'll see plenty of Gabe Davis for the Buffalo Bills.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: They also elevated defensive end, Andre Jones, and running back Frank Gore from the practice squad.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: Frank Gore, yes, that Frank Gore, his son.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: Talented running back, which means to me,
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: It might not be looking good for Ty Johnson who is questionable.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: Ty Johnson is their second slash third running back depending on the game script and game plan and stuff.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: But he's a speedster.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: It does a lot of good things for them.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: Ty Johnson on offense and special teams.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have Shack Thompson who is also questionable.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: with them signing bail inspector.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if he'll be able to go, but he's been a big part of their improved defense as of late Shack Thompson has.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the guys you're kind of keeping an eye on for the bills when it comes to if they're gonna apply or not.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: And then a big storyline for the Buffalo Bills is Matt Prater.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be the kicker for them, despite the quad issue.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't practice on Friday.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I assume that was planned.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: He also didn't practice on Wednesday.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: They are only rolling with Prater.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: And he's an older kicker.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: The quad kind of tightened up on him a couple of weeks ago.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what they're rolling with.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: 40 plus year old kicker with a tight quad.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's a bold decision.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: They had Matthew right that they could have potentially elevated, could have potentially signed to the active roster.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't decide to do that.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be fascinating to just see how that plays out.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: The kicking matchup with the Jag wars and the bills.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: Because obviously, the Jags have Cam Little, who's kicking as confidently as anyone ever right now.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: he's got the record for them.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: Longest outdoor kick in the regular season, the longest indoor kick in the regular season, the longest kick in the preseason.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: Can you get the longest playoff kick of all time as well?
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: We'll have to find out, right?
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: But definitely fascinating with that kicker matchup.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the weather today in Jacksonville.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty cloudy out right now.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like... Let's see here.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like there's going to be a little bit array in this morning.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't look like range it have much of an impact on the game.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: Should be fairly cloudy, sun coming through a little bit.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I don't think that weather will have a major impact on this game one way or the other.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Lightwinds, nothing too crazy.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's a good thing.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: I like seeing football where it's not like, especially a game that matters so much.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want like some crazy weather situation, really impacting things in my opinion.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: But this game, you know, we can talk about strengths and weaknesses and all that different stuff, but first, I do want to say, we just got to 11,000 subscribers last night on Saturday, and we've been talking about that a little bit on the channel.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: I just really appreciate y'all
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's just so amazing that I get to sit here and chat with y'all and engage with y'all and talk to y'all about Jaguars football.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I love to do, it's my passion, so unbelievable and huge shout out to everybody who tunes in, everybody who supports, subscribes, all that different stuff just means the world to me.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: So 11,000 subscribers, very cool.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: And that happening on the eve of the Jaguars,
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: taking on the bills and the playoffs.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: It just, it all feels really special right now.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm really enjoying it.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: But this game, like I said, talk about strengths and weaknesses, advantage disadvantages.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: But as Liam Cohen said, nothing that has happened to this point really matters.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: All that matters is what the Jack Wars and the bills do later today when they take each other on.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think looking at this game, both teams will be able to move the ball.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think being situational masters is the Jaguars call it making big plays and big moments that's gonna be massive for them.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited about the chess match between these coaching staffs.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's been fascinating to see like the Jaguars have been so good at adjusting defensively Anthony Camponele after the first driver too of the game
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: Opposing offense or offensive coordinator has been, you know, kind of throwing some things out there that you weren't necessarily expecting to see they've done a really good job adjusting for the most part.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: You would imagine that the bills will probably come out and have you personnel packages, try to get the jag wars kind of boxed up a little bit and be more physical with them.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if that'll work for them.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: The jags have improved in that regard, but the bills have two really good tight ends and the jag wars traditionally struggle to cover the tight end.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: So you can kind of see where that's going.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: the jags have had a couple games this year where opposing teams came out in a lot of 12 and 13, you know, multiple titans, and the jags struggle with that a little bit against the rams in the c-hawks, right?
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: So the chess match on that side of the ball, fascinating, but then also Liam Cohen versus Sean McDermott and company McDermott.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: They've been doing a really good job in the second half kind of changing their coverage plan, their coverage menu, and that's been difficult for opposing offenses to deal with.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Making a big half-time adjustment, whether that's planned or unplanned.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's not something you traditionally think about with the bills a lot, and you also don't traditionally think about them as a super-heavy disguise coverage team.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: But they do that a good bit.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know the Jack Wars, and Anthony Campony lay, he loves to disguise coverage, post-nap coverage rotation.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: So they know all about that in Jacksonville, right?
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: But not something you typically see from the bills they've been doing in a lot more this year.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing bigger though, in my opinion, just these two quarterbacks go ahead to head in Jacksonville, Josh Allen has 39 touchdowns this year.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence has 38.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Allen's one of the,
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: Just freaky as athletes on the planet, especially in the NFL at the quarterback position, unbelievable player.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: One of the best playoff performers at the quarterback position we've ever seen despite what some talking heads would tell you, right?
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then Trevor Lawrence, he's playing incredible football right now with
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Liam Cohen dialing it up, offensive line doing a pretty good job in past pro to Kobe Myers that trade unbelievable, Britain strange, right?
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Brian Thomas Jr. as a as a perimeter vertical threat and Parker Washington stepping up and becoming the Jaguars leading receiver.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anybody had that on their bingo card, but he's been incredible, then you have Travis E. T. N. as well as a factor out of the backfield and basal tuten somebody we don't talk about a lot lately, but I think he could have an impact in this game as well.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm expecting a lot of points.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm expecting a fun, close football game and again, making the big plays in the big moments.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be so critical and I think whoever does that more is going to win this game.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars, they've been unbelievable at home.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: This year, 7 and 1, inside the friendly confines of Everbank Stadium, they've only lost to the Seahawks.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: The bills are 5 and 3 on the road, and they have not won a road playoff game.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: Since 1992, Sean McDermott is 0 and 5 on the road.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: In the playoffs, including his first playoff game, which was in Jacksonville against the Jacksonville Jack Wars.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: Two different teams, then we saw in 2017, there's like no connective tissue, basically.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: The bills still have their same head coach, right, but just an unbelievably good matchup
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: You saw some really entertaining football yesterday as well.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that this game lives up to that standard.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I absolutely think it will.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: The Panthers couldn't quite hold on against the Rams.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: That would have been an unbelievable upset.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: And the Panthers, you know.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: They beat the Rams earlier this year, about a month ago, they almost did it yesterday, and then you have the Packers and Bears going back and forth.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I remember when it was 27, 16, well, I mean, it was 21, three at one point, and I was like, the Packers are beating them down, man, this is crazy.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: But the Bears have been a resilient team, and you saw that in a big way, I thought the Packers made some big mistakes down the stretch.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: I thought they're the drive-aware brand and maintenance, miss that field goal late.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: I really thought,
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: When it was 3rd and 15, taking a shot to the end zone was a bit of a mistake.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: I thought they should have tried to get a little bit closer, get five, 10 yards, and then go for it on fourth down.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they made some tactical errors in a big way and the bears ended up coming away with a huge win in the playoffs against their arch rival.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: So, great Saturday slate.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited for the Sunday slate as well.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, most excited about the Jaguars taking on the bills.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Can't wait for it.
