- 0:40Speaker 1: You may began welcome, Welcome, Welcome, I mean listening to
- 0:47Speaker 1: the Sports Shock Show. I am the Sports Shock Wayne
- 0:50Speaker 1: gave me. Good morning to you out there and listening land.
- 0:53Speaker 1: We are live here in Atlanta, Georgia, and I must
- 0:56Speaker 1: tell you here in the A as they call it,
- 1:00Speaker 1: there's been some tremendous weather over the last four or
- 1:05Speaker 1: five days. You know, store those days up so when
- 1:09Speaker 1: the rain comes in later in the week you have
- 1:12Speaker 1: something to reflect on. But just gorgeous weather here in
- 1:16Speaker 1: the Atlanta area, letting the city move around. Happy belated
- 1:23Speaker 1: Easter to you out there that celebrate Easter holiday weekend.
- 1:30Speaker 1: It seems like it's spilled over into this morning. Some
- 1:34Speaker 1: light traffic and you never know. If you ain't on
- 1:39Speaker 1: the calendar book, you don't know what days they take
- 1:41Speaker 1: off anymore. You can't just circle a day. They will
- 1:45Speaker 1: extend everything into Monday. Every holiday seems to now start
- 1:53Speaker 1: Thursday night and roll into Monday. Like. People just said
- 1:58Speaker 1: the traffic was light today, and I know it was
- 2:01Speaker 1: like because Command she Greg and Big Kenny both were
- 2:06Speaker 1: twelve minutes early to the station, so I know what happened.
- 2:13Speaker 1: It was without me even asking them. I knew the
- 2:16Speaker 1: traffic must have been liked because Command she Greg walked
- 2:23Speaker 1: in the door with that look like, man, look, don't
- 2:26Speaker 1: expect this next show. This is just this just is
- 2:32Speaker 1: a one off by money. But you just gave you
- 2:41Speaker 1: a little pres The NBA playoffs have started. Great game.
- 2:48Speaker 1: My Hawks lost on Friday night to the Miami Heat.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Went out to that game, great environment. That game was
- 2:55Speaker 1: for the eighth spot. That spot went on to play
- 2:58Speaker 1: the Calves. The lost yesterday to the Caves. Won twenty
- 3:03Speaker 1: one to one hundred. But just in the first round,
- 3:07Speaker 1: at least for the first games that I did tune into,
- 3:10Speaker 1: it seems that people are really and it could have
- 3:13Speaker 1: been the Easter weekend. It could be you never know.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It's all about placement. Remember we're big on this show
- 3:19Speaker 1: of these leagues WNBA, XFL making sure you find the
- 3:24Speaker 1: right placement where you can maximize. And it just felt
- 3:28Speaker 1: like Saturday and Sunday games, which were the official days
- 3:32Speaker 1: of the playoffs, like people really came out to be
- 3:37Speaker 1: part and you know, and it's almost like, oh, is
- 3:40Speaker 1: it gonna be in the garden like that every day
- 3:42Speaker 1: because every star in walking distance to Madison Square came
- 3:48Speaker 1: out to the next the other night to their game.
- 3:51Speaker 1: They had all the old head from La Trail Spreewhell
- 3:54Speaker 1: to Patrick Ewing, John Starks, Marcus can Be. They just
- 3:59Speaker 1: had a lethra of old legends of the Knicks. And
- 4:05Speaker 1: then you saw everybody on the sideline, you know, usual
- 4:08Speaker 1: Spike and Ben Stiller. Ben Stiller in that Tropic Thunder
- 4:14Speaker 1: was still a classic movie. I know Greg didn't really
- 4:17Speaker 1: like it even talking to me this whole time. But
- 4:23Speaker 1: just a great weekend for the NBA starting off hot
- 4:28Speaker 1: in that first round and we will see how that continues. Still,
- 4:32Speaker 1: I wish the first round was still five games. It
- 4:35Speaker 1: had a little more intensity for both teams. It gave
- 4:39Speaker 1: the lower seed teams to me, and when I say
- 4:42Speaker 1: lower seed, I'm not talking about four of nsus five,
- 4:46Speaker 1: three versus sei. I'm talking about one versus eight, two
- 4:49Speaker 1: versus seven kind of teams where you feel like they
- 4:53Speaker 1: really won and two typically and most likely when you
- 4:56Speaker 1: look at NBA history, always win five y'all had. Y'all
- 5:01Speaker 1: could have had the same record, you know it, just
- 5:05Speaker 1: you beat me at one time and had some kind
- 5:09Speaker 1: of clerical era while we playing at your house first.
- 5:13Speaker 1: But but it's a good weekend for NBA basketball. Got
- 5:19Speaker 1: a chance to go out to a track meet my
- 5:20Speaker 1: good friend Will Stevens, his son, Uh. They were in
- 5:24Speaker 1: the regional and Woodward Academy. A lot of young ladies
- 5:29Speaker 1: on that track team, a couple of going to Michigan
- 5:34Speaker 1: and Alabama LSU. They were, and they were beating the
- 5:38Speaker 1: competition like, look, you're gonna be at Ryan Hart, I'm
- 5:44Speaker 1: gonna be at.
- 5:45Speaker 9: Michigan at Michigan right and you're gon and you're gonna
- 5:50Speaker 9: be out of track and then focusing on your.
- 5:54Speaker 1: That was the distance between It was like it was
- 5:57Speaker 1: very obvious that's the Michigan girl girl, and that's the
- 6:02Speaker 1: Ryan hard No knock against Ryan Harder who was that's
- 6:06Speaker 1: the Ryan Hart. That's the Sterling University in Kansas.
- 6:13Speaker 9: Right, girl, Sterling University of the People. And this is
- 6:16Speaker 9: l s U girl Very who was the Olympic athlete
- 6:21Speaker 9: she ran with against other parents. Allison Felix Not Wasn't
- 6:27Speaker 9: Alison Phelix. No, she's got one of those three names.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Said one of the three names. All the track girls
- 6:34Speaker 1: go by three names. Field Day.
- 6:36Speaker 10: Yeah, that was, uh, Shelley and Fraser Pricey Price.
- 6:41Speaker 1: But don't know all the track girls the names. Maybe
- 6:46Speaker 1: that's the track because it's Sydney McLaughlin Lavron now and
- 6:51Speaker 1: you know when they get married, they just and it
- 6:54Speaker 1: was what was the young lady married to the football
- 6:57Speaker 1: player something something Ross, Sandra Richardson Ross that something like that.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I'm not familiar with Alan Ross, the cornerback. He married
- 7:13Speaker 1: a young lady Sonya Richard's Ross, something like that. And
- 7:18Speaker 1: now Chikai Richardson she does because she does some of
- 7:20Speaker 1: the commentating for NBC. When they called the track her
- 7:24Speaker 1: and the auto Bolton she ran the four hundred. Yeah,
- 7:29Speaker 1: but this uh Fraser Price ran against regular parents and
- 7:36Speaker 1: didn't hold back anything. Yeah, it was at her child's
- 7:39Speaker 1: field and you could.
- 7:41Speaker 9: See which one used to be living race and you
- 7:43Speaker 9: can see which one is just be working out at
- 7:45Speaker 9: the gym on the weekend.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And I mean there.
- 7:48Speaker 9: Was like a football field length distance between them, and
- 7:53Speaker 9: I was like, and Shelley.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Ann is late thirties maybe right in there, which is
- 8:01Speaker 1: you know, kind of like football that's old in track,
- 8:04Speaker 1: in track, you know, but not in life. But but
- 8:08Speaker 1: compared to those other mothers, she looked fresh out the box,
- 8:12Speaker 1: you know, like they just broke the sea of this morning.
- 8:15Speaker 1: And it's always great sometimes to see when people that
- 8:21Speaker 1: are not of a sport encounter because so many people
- 8:25Speaker 1: live this kind of life as though they would have
- 8:29Speaker 1: beat Andre Agassy because I mean I played, uh that
- 8:34Speaker 1: time at USL, Right, so your tennis game, you know
- 8:40Speaker 1: what I'm saying. We played a whole afternoon in your
- 8:42Speaker 1: tennis game. Good enough for Agasy. I'm saying, I'm sure
- 8:46Speaker 1: he would win. But he would know, he would know,
- 8:49Speaker 1: you would he would know he had been playing when
- 8:51Speaker 1: in reality, know he wouldn't. He wouldn't even remember. It
- 8:55Speaker 1: would be like being out there by himself. Think he
- 8:59Speaker 1: was just the yeah, just he just keeps tossing the
- 9:05Speaker 1: balls back to me, so I served them. So, but
- 9:09Speaker 1: a great weekend. You guys have a good weekend. I did.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I did, Thank you very much, sir, command you Greg,
- 9:15Speaker 1: you had great weekend. It was it was okay. What
- 9:18Speaker 1: would have what would have made it better? I always
- 9:20Speaker 1: asked that when people say it was just okay? What
- 9:24Speaker 1: if I was able to watch some of these NBA
- 9:27Speaker 1: playoffs they were on all day. I was at the
- 9:30Speaker 1: day job I work on weekends. Uh, pollen season is over,
- 9:39Speaker 1: can you feel it? Well? No?
- 9:40Speaker 9: No, yesterday I did my usual what every when I
- 9:46Speaker 9: think pollen season is over. I do the whole washing
- 9:51Speaker 9: down of the outside furniture and stuff like that. And
- 9:55Speaker 9: in the morning or in the afternoon, if pollen has
- 9:59Speaker 9: not coded everything again, then it's over.
- 10:01Speaker 1: And this morning stuff was still undusted. And I figured,
- 10:06Speaker 1: this rain that we're getting this week here, not the
- 10:09Speaker 1: people in other areas care should take away this last
- 10:13Speaker 1: little amount on the trees and on the rooftops and
- 10:17Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff. One thing about the track
- 10:19Speaker 1: meet that was one thing before we go to break
- 10:22Speaker 1: that was very interesting was sitting there and listen to
- 10:26Speaker 1: to the parents of these track athletes that are going
- 10:30Speaker 1: to college speaking on like Nils and the track function
- 10:36Speaker 1: of the schools being limited in money in those kind
- 10:42Speaker 1: of things, when the scholarship used to just be the
- 10:45Speaker 1: my child got a scholarship to Arkansas, when there used
- 10:47Speaker 1: to be that really with the scholarship what they were
- 10:51Speaker 1: going to study, but to just sit there commanche and
- 10:54Speaker 1: ear hustle. And I'm talking about or five different sets
- 10:59Speaker 1: of parents or fathers discussing am I'm more of who
- 11:04Speaker 1: got what?
- 11:04Speaker 9: And he I thought it was going to uh University
- 11:09Speaker 9: of Ohio until in Michigan.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Called in on the last day kind of thing. And
- 11:16Speaker 1: that means more financial support absolutely and and and that's
- 11:22Speaker 1: what that's cold for at the end. So very interesting.
- 11:25Speaker 1: But we'll be back with more of the Sports Jock
- 11:27Speaker 1: Show right after this.
- 11:43Speaker 11: Don't go awayne Board of the Sports Josh Hill with

- 12:04Speaker 12: alternative rocks rather than a bachelor's degree. It's time to

- 12:18Speaker 13: Most people out here think that taking care of one
- 12:20Speaker 13: another is important, and most people would step up for
- 12:24Speaker 13: a neighbor going through a tough time. Most people around
- 12:27Speaker 13: here help out friends and family when they need it.
- 12:29Speaker 13: But the funny thing is most of us won't look
- 12:32Speaker 13: for help when we need it. Talk to someone if
- 12:34Speaker 13: you're struggling with mental health, because most people out here
- 12:37Speaker 13: really care. Find more information at Loveyourmind Today dot org.

- 13:33Speaker 6: Now it's time to present the Jock of the Day
- 13:36Speaker 6: on the Sports Jockshire's taken it to a completely different
- 13:39Speaker 6: level this year where we highlight an accolade that has
- 13:42Speaker 6: taken their game to the next level.
- 13:49Speaker 17: Baby baby, baby girl, Let me see you do your dance,
- 14:02Speaker 17: let me see your tw.
- 14:04Speaker 1: With your home girls to the big for the bumps
- 14:06Speaker 1: of the whole world. Is that your best team work
- 14:10Speaker 1: makes this war Shock show. I'm this warshock wing kind
- 14:14Speaker 1: good morning to you. Uh and and this isn't a comanchi, Greg,
- 14:18Speaker 1: I saw the story. You sent me the story, and
- 14:21Speaker 1: it's not a huge story. Athlete getting a shoving match
- 14:28Speaker 1: in a restaurant. This is something that you can count
- 14:32Speaker 1: on in one of our professional sports in this country
- 14:36Speaker 1: about every other month.
- 14:39Speaker 9: I mean, we've all gotten into the cheving matches in
- 14:42Speaker 9: the restaurant.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Am I right? Yeah? Am I right? You're just I'm
- 14:47Speaker 1: trying to mind my business and you're looking at me
- 14:50Speaker 1: and so uh, Sacramento King Tomorrow Derosan the king of
- 14:57Speaker 1: the short game. And when I say that, he's that's
- 15:00Speaker 1: a guy that he hasn't let the three point shot
- 15:05Speaker 1: invade his game. He takes the best shot. He's like
- 15:08Speaker 1: a Rip Rip Hamilton. He's gonna get in his range
- 15:13Speaker 1: and whatever that is. He's not gonna force you just
- 15:16Speaker 1: to pull up. He still still give you that twenty six.
- 15:20Speaker 1: But he's gonna he's just playing good old basketball, Big Kenny.
- 15:25Speaker 1: If you don't feel like the three is on form,
- 15:28Speaker 1: he take him two dribbles inside and pop a little
- 15:32Speaker 1: floating and look ten fifteen foot. I mean, you know
- 15:37Speaker 1: it ain't always got to be from downtown. But you
- 15:39Speaker 1: know in his last ten years, oh yeah, everybody has
- 15:43Speaker 1: decided I want to be a back. Yeah, they want
- 15:46Speaker 1: to launchp Curry. Jamar DeRozan. He is the king of
- 15:50Speaker 1: the short game. Uh. He was at a sushi restaurant.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I'm just bringing this up command because I laughed because
- 15:57Speaker 1: in the video I couldn't figure out how the man
- 16:00Speaker 1: was on the ground on his back kicking up at
- 16:03Speaker 1: Damar DeRozan. That was the part that stood out to me.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I don't know what happened. Did he throw him down there?
- 16:10Speaker 1: How did he get on the ground. Did you see
- 16:14Speaker 1: the video? You have to see the video. Didn't you
- 16:17Speaker 1: to watch this? Oh? It's a classic. Somehow. They're the
- 16:21Speaker 1: sushi restaurant, which is which is where the problem starts.
- 16:26Speaker 1: At the sushi restaurant. You know you you're a sushi guy.
- 16:33Speaker 1: More haibachi than sushi. Got okay abachi guy? Okay? Yeah,
- 16:38Speaker 1: you're Greg is a sushi gout. Yeah, I like.
- 16:41Speaker 9: I like kibachi too, and now when it comes to sushi,
- 16:46Speaker 9: I'm more California roll.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yeah. I can eat the cook crow the cook things like.
- 16:52Speaker 1: It's the texture. Always people ask I've tried, uh, the
- 16:57Speaker 1: you know what you're really supposed to go get, which
- 17:01Speaker 1: is the raw seafood on top of the rice. I've
- 17:05Speaker 1: tried that, but something about it being raw doesn't make
- 17:10Speaker 1: it taste worse. It's just the texture of it. It's
- 17:16Speaker 1: one of the first things that taught me that there
- 17:18Speaker 1: is a texture. When people you watch the cooking at
- 17:21Speaker 1: work and the guy be like, I just can't take
- 17:23Speaker 1: the texture. It's like real gummy. Right.
- 17:27Speaker 9: I had an experience of being at a sushi restaurant
- 17:32Speaker 9: in Japan, and I don't know if it's it was
- 17:36Speaker 9: like I squid and stuff like that, and again the
- 17:40Speaker 9: flavor was appealing.
- 17:42Speaker 1: It's just I feel like I'm chewing raw fish. You were. Yeah,
- 17:50Speaker 1: I can't get away from the fact that, yeah, this
- 17:52Speaker 1: actually feels like fish in my mouth. But if you
- 17:56Speaker 1: ever get it, if you get a chance to watch
- 17:57Speaker 1: the video. The thing from the video I saw the
- 18:01Speaker 1: martyr Rosen was standing over and I'm not sure if
- 18:05Speaker 1: that's someone he knew or if it was a stranger,
- 18:08Speaker 1: but it looks like they had gotten into a little
- 18:10Speaker 1: encounter and some kind of guy way the guy I
- 18:13Speaker 1: was kicking his legs up at the Martyr ros and
- 18:17Speaker 1: as like a toddler, But I don't know if he
- 18:20Speaker 1: had shoved him. And you've seen people get in the fights, yeah,
- 18:24Speaker 1: and land on the ground and then they go to
- 18:27Speaker 1: doing that kicking thing get you off. You have seen
- 18:30Speaker 1: that command? Yeah, like an mm A fight where they
- 18:35Speaker 1: tried to kick you and get you off. And this
- 18:39Speaker 1: guy looked like he had decided he was going to
- 18:40Speaker 1: fight from his back.
- 18:44Speaker 9: I mean, if that's where you are at the time,
- 18:46Speaker 9: you don't just stop fighting.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Do you see the part I'm talking about?
- 18:50Speaker 10: Yeah, well yeah, the clip I saw is like the
- 18:53Speaker 10: clips starts with the guy already on his back, on.
- 18:56Speaker 1: His back, right, And that's the part I don't know
- 18:58Speaker 1: how did he get on his back because that's the shove.
- 19:00Speaker 10: Yeah, that he that Rosen shoved him after the guy
- 19:04Speaker 10: like put his phone like in his face and he
- 19:08Speaker 10: had his flap the flashlight on the phone, so it.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Sounds like the guy maybe was trying to take a
- 19:15Speaker 1: picture of him. Yeah, and he shoved him off of him. Yeah, okay,
- 19:20Speaker 1: And that was the only thing I was laughing, Like,
- 19:22Speaker 1: is this grown man on the ground kicking his legs
- 19:24Speaker 1: up in the sushi restaurant? Well, this is not a
- 19:27Speaker 1: cage match. You've been watching too much of that mma.
- 19:31Speaker 9: Well, you know, maybe he getting in the character he
- 19:34Speaker 9: eating sushi, so he been doing his martial arts moves
- 19:38Speaker 9: and you know he and his whole end of the
- 19:40Speaker 9: dragon face.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Well you have a long way to kick up the
- 19:43Speaker 1: mart Rosen is like, yeah, like six seven, he kicking
- 19:46Speaker 1: his shens and athletes and anyone of any note, not
- 19:53Speaker 1: just athletes, anyone, politicians, actors, actresses, everyone, anybody of know,
- 20:00Speaker 1: there's always in that position where, however you encounter someone
- 20:06Speaker 1: they feel like the De Marto Rosing guy or a
- 20:11Speaker 1: lady is supposed to be the bigger of like you
- 20:16Speaker 1: because whatever I did for you to know me allows
- 20:20Speaker 1: you some access to me as you choose to. Yeah,
- 20:25Speaker 1: a lot of times that's what it is. Like you've
- 20:27Speaker 1: decided since I recognize you. Now, I just came here
- 20:30Speaker 1: for some raw octopus right right, And you've decided since
- 20:35Speaker 1: you noticed that I was here, right, it's game time. Yeah,
- 20:40Speaker 1: now what's the problem. No, I don't have on no
- 20:45Speaker 1: Kings uniform. I came here for some big Kenny told
- 20:48Speaker 1: you the head the best California role. Now I'm even
- 20:53Speaker 1: a California role right now?
- 20:54Speaker 10: You understand I need a picture though, Yeah, I'm just
- 20:57Speaker 10: waiting on social media.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I'm just waiting on a little with Sabby. I'm trying.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I'm finna make this dude kick me. I don't worry
- 21:03Speaker 1: about don't worry about it, don't worry about Let's get
- 21:06Speaker 1: the picture everybody, everybody, Finn start filming everybody about before
- 21:10Speaker 1: their cameras out in the second, and don't worry about it.
- 21:12Speaker 1: And definitely if he turned the light on though. Come on, man,

- 25:00Speaker 1: I hope it was a beautiful weekend and you got
- 25:04Speaker 1: time to spend with family and you get home safe
- 25:08Speaker 1: wherever you traveled to a lot of people traveled to
- 25:11Speaker 1: see family at this time of the year, spring games
- 25:17Speaker 1: went down. A couple of spring football games went down
- 25:20Speaker 1: this weekend as well. One of the more intriguing spring
- 25:26Speaker 1: games was Colorado, and not because coach Prime is out
- 25:31Speaker 1: there in his third year trying to get the team
- 25:36Speaker 1: to that national championship level, but because of the circus
- 25:47Speaker 1: centered around what even a lot of ex Colorado players
- 25:52Speaker 1: felt was basically what they would say skipping the line
- 26:01Speaker 1: Travis Hunter, who just won the Heisman Trophy for Colorado,
- 26:07Speaker 1: and Chadeur Sanders, the quarterback the last two years for Colorado,
- 26:14Speaker 1: they were added to the Ring of Honor, they retired
- 26:20Speaker 1: their numbers, and a lot of the faithful, not just fans,
- 26:25Speaker 1: as I said, when you read the reports, you have
- 26:28Speaker 1: a lot of athletes that played there, felt like this
- 26:33Speaker 1: is something, especially in the Travis Hunter. At some point,
- 26:37Speaker 1: you win the Heisman at a school, you're gonna get
- 26:41Speaker 1: the whole jersey ceremony. Most likely a statue, they might
- 26:46Speaker 1: name a room in the stadium after you, So you
- 26:49Speaker 1: already knew that when you went to Heisman. But even
- 26:54Speaker 1: in his case to be just really basically three months
- 26:58Speaker 1: removed from the season. And for Shador who typically if
- 27:05Speaker 1: even to have a chance this fast, he would have
- 27:09Speaker 1: had to not just break records command you in big Kenney,
- 27:12Speaker 1: he would have had to also bring home in like
- 27:14Speaker 1: a national title at the same time. Really unprecedented territory,
- 27:21Speaker 1: which is you know, this is what coach Prime rings
- 27:25Speaker 1: that two people before they're even drafted, which will be
- 27:29Speaker 1: this Thursday, the first spring game after their last year,
- 27:34Speaker 1: their jersey and name is put up in Colorado Stadium.
- 27:40Speaker 1: So I guess at first I would ask you, gentlemen,
- 27:43Speaker 1: being as neutral as you possibly can, which you two
- 27:47Speaker 1: without the other guy that is not here? Yeah, y'all
- 27:50Speaker 1: always kind of stay in center. Would you feel if
- 27:55Speaker 1: you I don't know who's not up there, but say
- 27:58Speaker 1: someone X teammate of mind and Cordell Stewart, legendary quarterback
- 28:04Speaker 1: in Colorado. If you're not up there, can you see
- 28:08Speaker 1: where someone like Cordell could be? Like, hold on, now,
- 28:14Speaker 1: I've been gone thirty years and I still ain't got
- 28:17Speaker 1: up there. You guys been going sixty days.
- 28:27Speaker 9: I think that for and this is me projecting for
- 28:32Speaker 9: the athletes. Not only does their tenure and time having
- 28:39Speaker 9: served away from the university and the accomplishments after leaving
- 28:45Speaker 9: the university play a factor into it. The fact that
- 28:50Speaker 9: we didn't have a dad coaching us when we got
- 28:55Speaker 9: in or to help us, I can imagine in that,
- 29:01Speaker 9: especially in Shadeur's case. Again, Travis Hunter won a Heisman Trophy.
- 29:06Speaker 9: I would imagine even with that comes its own accolades.
- 29:11Speaker 9: I don't know if that would put me automatically in
- 29:14Speaker 9: the Ring of honor in the stadium. It would make
- 29:17Speaker 9: me the next seasons, several seasons recruiting tool most definitely
- 29:26Speaker 9: of nothing else. But this just seems like this screams nepotism.
- 29:31Speaker 9: This screams coach prime all over it. I'm going to
- 29:35Speaker 9: add my son and Travis Hunt, which is the same
- 29:39Speaker 9: way he kind of had a press junket with them
- 29:46Speaker 9: the entire time they were playing for him.
- 29:48Speaker 10: Man Greg and looking at the other numbers that were
- 29:53Speaker 10: retired therefore, other numbers that have been retired and retiring
- 29:59Speaker 10: at the spring game, is seemed to be the tradition.
- 30:02Speaker 10: When it does happen, like I said, it's only happened
- 30:04Speaker 10: four other times it so it does seem like it's
- 30:11Speaker 10: it does feel like it's too soon because yeah, they
- 30:14Speaker 10: just they just left. I understand it. As far as
- 30:20Speaker 10: with Travis Hunter, he's won the Heisman, he was an
- 30:23Speaker 10: All American. They retired Rashaan Salam's number of their previous
- 30:29Speaker 10: Heisman winner, So it's understandable there with Shador compared to
- 30:37Speaker 10: other quarterbacks that may have played there, maybe there's some
- 30:41Speaker 10: other success or. No one from their national championship team
- 30:45Speaker 10: has had their number retired, so you kind of look
- 30:48Speaker 10: at it as well, what did he accomplish to to.
- 30:51Speaker 1: To earn it? So people feel like it was unearned? Yeah,
- 30:56Speaker 1: because think about it now, you went, you went, what
- 30:59Speaker 1: was that first year they were four and eight, four nine,
- 31:04Speaker 1: something like that, four and eight, and then last year
- 31:06Speaker 1: they were.
- 31:09Speaker 10: Five, yeah, eight and five went to the.
- 31:14Speaker 1: So in two years, two years, you won twelve games.
- 31:17Speaker 1: So in two years you won twelve games.
- 31:22Speaker 9: And now what I'm what I'm seeing here is it
- 31:25Speaker 9: says that they are the fifth and six players too
- 31:31Speaker 9: have their jerseys retired, And yeah, because you said they
- 31:35Speaker 9: had four on four of them.
- 31:37Speaker 1: So these were the only two numbers retired this year? Yes, okay?
- 31:43Speaker 1: Which and the last the last number they had was
- 31:46Speaker 1: probably Rashaanonza who won the Heisman. And typically that's why
- 31:52Speaker 1: I said you can. The Travis Hunter thing was just
- 31:54Speaker 1: when do you do it? Once you win the Heisman,
- 31:58Speaker 1: you don't have any the scheduur things come into question
- 32:02Speaker 1: because not only he didn't win the Heisman, he was
- 32:06Speaker 1: only there two years, So you're not even necessarily true
- 32:11Speaker 1: and true buff Does that make sense? Like Cam Newton
- 32:17Speaker 1: is a ward Eagle because Cam Newton won the Heisman,
- 32:22Speaker 1: but as far as time on the field as an
- 32:25Speaker 1: Auburn Tiger, it really was only that season. So to
- 32:35Speaker 1: the Auburn faithful without that heisman. So was Brandon Jacobs,
- 32:43Speaker 1: the running back for the Giants. Like it's a lot
- 32:45Speaker 1: of guys that came through and played a year somewhere
- 32:48Speaker 1: and get no credit. Now, if you do get credit,
- 32:51Speaker 1: if you can do in one year what Cam did, act,
- 32:55Speaker 1: we'll pretend as though you were here the whole four
- 32:57Speaker 1: or five years if you can win Heisman. But if
- 33:00Speaker 1: you only was here one year, they don't sit there
- 33:05Speaker 1: and cove it one year of work, right, right, and
- 33:09Speaker 1: for it to happen. And I'm not saying at some
- 33:11Speaker 1: point you should do it down the road, but I
- 33:12Speaker 1: think a lot of these guys would be more to
- 33:16Speaker 1: tell you that they were there, not just first. First
- 33:20Speaker 1: of all, some of them won ten, eleven, twelve games
- 33:23Speaker 1: in a season. Yeah, yeah, And that's the part that
- 33:26Speaker 1: not only one you was four and what you say
- 33:29Speaker 1: four and eight? Yeah, And that's the thing. If I
- 33:33Speaker 1: told you that, that didn't sound like anybody.
- 33:35Speaker 9: Retiring number for anyone, And that's that's just mean for me.
- 33:42Speaker 9: Numbers don't lie, ball don't lie. And if you were
- 33:44Speaker 9: to put these numbers side by side with any of
- 33:48Speaker 9: the competitors whose numbers have allso been retired, any of
- 33:53Speaker 9: their teammates, I just don't see it. And again I
- 33:57Speaker 9: think sometimes just like with this nil J, it's like
- 34:00Speaker 9: with a lot of what we didn't see with college sports.
- 34:05Speaker 9: But people thought it was going to be better when
- 34:07Speaker 9: they bought coach Prime to Colorado. They never imagined that
- 34:12Speaker 9: some of this stuff would unravel as fast as it has.
- 34:15Speaker 9: I don't think anybody saw a Heisman coming in his
- 34:20Speaker 9: what is his second season there I don't think anybody
- 34:24Speaker 9: saw his son being as proficient as he was. So
- 34:28Speaker 9: some people would argue, why wouldn't he be retire? But
- 34:32Speaker 9: I just don't see retiring. I just don't see retiring.
- 34:38Speaker 9: Albron has I think four people the three of them
- 34:44Speaker 9: won Heisman. Pat Sullivan won the Heisman in like seventy one,
- 34:52Speaker 9: Bo Jackson and Cam Newton, So I know three of
- 34:56Speaker 9: maybe five total, maybe it's four, I'm not were Heisman winners.
- 35:06Speaker 9: And so that's the thing.
- 35:07Speaker 1: So I understood while the old you know, some of
- 35:09Speaker 1: the old school guys like John Beesom and Chad Brown
- 35:14Speaker 1: back in the day were saying they were, you know,
- 35:18Speaker 1: perennial All American first.
- 35:20Speaker 10: Yeah, it's like the first three numbers they retired. They
- 35:23Speaker 10: all played in the sixties and now and then and
- 35:26Speaker 10: then Rashon Salam won the Heisman, and that was.
- 35:31Speaker 9: You don't you don't you don't think somebody in the
- 35:34Speaker 9: alumni or in the athletic director's office come on, coach.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Ho well, because because to have that conversation, it seems
- 35:42Speaker 1: that you're trying to hate, but you're not. You're just
- 35:46Speaker 1: trying to figure out. That's what I'm saying. Now you
- 35:49Speaker 1: said a president that if if Julian Juju lewis who
- 35:52Speaker 1: they got this year, if he some kind of way
- 35:56Speaker 1: goes out and out dude doves Chaudeur's numbers, how come
- 36:02Speaker 1: I can you? You got to put my number up, right,
- 36:05Speaker 1: you got to.
- 36:07Speaker 9: I played one season for you and now you got
- 36:10Speaker 9: to put me in and be better.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Than eight and five. We'll be back water Sports Jock

- 39:09Speaker 1: I'll sing even welco back to this boy, shock shock,
- 39:15Speaker 1: this boy shock, Wayne Canny, Good morning to you out
- 39:17Speaker 1: there this thing on land. Come on you, Greg mc kenny,
- 39:19Speaker 1: I just got a text from one of my boys. Uh,
- 39:21Speaker 1: he's trying to make sure I understand that every media
- 39:25Speaker 1: outlet is saying it was the AD's decision to retire
- 39:29Speaker 1: the Sanders and Hunters jersey skipping the line that Dion
- 39:34Speaker 1: did not campaign for this, And what I would tell
- 39:37Speaker 1: him is that that is two choice words. One of
- 39:42Speaker 1: them stars with B and the other one starts with S.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Everything that's going on through there is based on Coach Prime. No,
- 39:56Speaker 1: the ad is not about to sit there and let
- 39:59Speaker 1: you because then if I let you know that Coach
- 40:01Speaker 1: Prime had anything to do with it, and it would
- 40:04Speaker 1: come off as nepotism. So I'm gonna bite the bullet.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Most of this is because these two young men are
- 40:11Speaker 1: so popular that if I retire these jerseys and their numbers,
- 40:16Speaker 1: I can sell them. Dion has created another revenue for
- 40:23Speaker 1: these guys. I'm not knocking it. I have given and
- 40:27Speaker 1: through and thrown my hands up on college sports based
- 40:32Speaker 1: on the framework of calling it college. These two gentlemen
- 40:36Speaker 1: can attest to that. I can call you all his
- 40:38Speaker 1: witnesses right that I have been sing which is rare,
- 40:41Speaker 1: Which is rare, sir.
- 40:42Speaker 9: In fact, I've been saying, just called it pro.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Sports, pro sports. It's just pro sports, propt and Dion
- 40:49Speaker 1: is playing the pro sport world like it should be.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Now I can continue just like a Kobe jersey, just
- 40:58Speaker 1: like a Michael Jordan jersey. Sell these two most popular
- 41:02Speaker 1: buffs in the last thirty years since Rashaan Salem and
- 41:08Speaker 1: the Cordell and the Westbrook days of the early nineties
- 41:12Speaker 1: where two thirds of the population don't forgot the enemy days,
- 41:17Speaker 1: about those days, I can sell these jerseys. Lock them
- 41:21Speaker 1: in as Oh you got on that's your door, Santa's jersey.
- 41:26Speaker 9: Heck, the Enemies jersey isn't retiring, No, no, nobody from
- 41:30Speaker 9: their their national championship. They said it was three guys
- 41:35Speaker 9: from that played in the sixties. And then Rashaan Salam
- 41:38Speaker 9: that was it. I know he got to be heated.
- 41:41Speaker 9: I'm gonna call him no and so to I'm just saying,
- 41:45Speaker 9: so don't. I'm not gonna go here and fall.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I read that report too, the ad saying it was
- 41:50Speaker 1: totally his decision. No, it was not. Under your reign.
- 41:55Speaker 1: You're bringing in money, you're making money, you're doing the
- 41:57Speaker 1: pro theme. Do it. I don't know what all these
- 42:02Speaker 1: little guys do that. Thank you some money, clean, but
- 42:08Speaker 1: do it. That's why you want it done this spring.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Do you want to go into the draft already in
- 42:13Speaker 1: bed with Nike or DDAs or whoever gonna make the jersey. Yeah,
- 42:19Speaker 1: that it can be part of the should do or
- 42:21Speaker 1: you can get the should do buff jersey. And what's
- 42:25Speaker 1: gonna make it sell even more is when he the second, third,
- 42:29Speaker 1: fourth pick. It's a great business model. Push it. I'm
- 42:34Speaker 1: all listen, I'm all listen. Nothing but what I've been
- 42:38Speaker 1: talking about has been about putting anything down. And then
- 42:41Speaker 1: tell you that all those guys at Colorado, like anybody
- 42:45Speaker 1: would be in this process of trying to get into
- 42:48Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame and things you'd be wanting. I'm
- 42:51Speaker 1: up for the college Hall of Fame, but I could
- 42:56Speaker 1: be in the grave, or I could be eighty by
- 42:58Speaker 1: the time they call you just roller decks unless you
- 43:01Speaker 1: go out and do something right right that brings them
- 43:05Speaker 1: some kind of the spotlight. If you do anything that
- 43:09Speaker 1: brings you more spotlight, that they can sell it. And
- 43:12Speaker 1: just a man, that's what's more worthy of them.
- 43:15Speaker 9: Number one and the number three or five pick. Those
- 43:19Speaker 9: jerseys are retired. So now you get their pro jersey,
- 43:22Speaker 9: you get the college jersey. And again that's an awesome
- 43:30Speaker 9: little recruiting to the transfer portal will light up because look,
- 43:35Speaker 9: we're all going out there now.
- 43:37Speaker 1: It was why he got there and made everybody get
- 43:40Speaker 1: rid of their jersey. Remember you took all the jersey numbers,
- 43:43Speaker 1: and I said here on the show, I said Prime.
- 43:46Speaker 1: He made sure that they could take their jerseys from
- 43:49Speaker 1: Jackson State and they could get them. He removed it.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Everybody had to earn their jersey number, right, and those
- 43:58Speaker 1: two guys just happened to earn the same jersey number
- 44:01Speaker 1: they had at Jackson State. It was up to them, right,
- 44:07Speaker 1: How can I do that? I come in, I tell
- 44:10Speaker 1: you none of you are worthy, which is true. Y'all
- 44:14Speaker 1: were one to eleven and none of y'all are worthy
- 44:16Speaker 1: to have anything except Travis should do it. They proved
- 44:20Speaker 1: they were worthy on the rise. They weren't on the
- 44:22Speaker 1: one eleven teams. Yeah, they on the way over here.
- 44:26Speaker 1: They worked out for me. I just I'm applauding. I'm not.
- 44:29Speaker 1: I'm saying, but I do understand the different reports of
- 44:32Speaker 1: the other guys sitting there, like hold on, now, it's
- 44:38Speaker 1: some people that from the national championship team, or now
- 44:41Speaker 1: you've said a president at Colorado that soon as the
- 44:46Speaker 1: next guy get one yard or one touchdown more more,
- 44:52Speaker 1: how do you argue him against especially when it was
- 44:54Speaker 1: on a like we just said two years, you ain't
- 44:57Speaker 1: win but twelve games, and.
- 44:59Speaker 9: Wait now I'm on a Heisman Trophy, a national championship,
- 45:02Speaker 9: and went.
- 45:03Speaker 1: On to help coach three four Super Bowls, and you
- 45:07Speaker 1: ain't retired my number.
- 45:09Speaker 9: And the ad responsible for this, I bet you I'll
- 45:13Speaker 9: be camping out on somebody's yard.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Excuse me, mister AD. You said you the one for
- 45:19Speaker 1: the NBA draft. I mean the NFL Draft will be
- 45:22Speaker 1: this Thursday. Travis Hunter can go anywhere I would me.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I've told you I could rest easy at night with
- 45:33Speaker 1: the first pick because you can't argue with me for
- 45:37Speaker 1: drafting him first. And very seldom do you have that
- 45:42Speaker 1: player where no matter what you think I need, I'm
- 45:48Speaker 1: gonna get this guy. I got the best guy in
- 45:50Speaker 1: the draft. So what's your problem? I just I know
- 45:55Speaker 1: we ain't need a center, but I drafted Shaq all right,
- 45:58Speaker 1: we got five kids, But we got five kids, but
- 46:02Speaker 1: I bought a new Corvette. I mean it's a solid car.
- 46:05Speaker 1: This is a solid car.
- 46:06Speaker 10: With the eighty four draft, Portland was looking to draft
- 46:12Speaker 10: a center because alaj was going first, and Bobby Knight
- 46:15Speaker 10: was telling them go ahead and draft Jordan, but.
- 46:17Speaker 1: We need a center. Put Jordan to center. It don't matter,
- 46:22Speaker 1: but it looks like somewhere in there should do or
- 46:25Speaker 1: could be in that top three or four. But he
- 46:29Speaker 1: also could be what they are saying, like ninth because.
- 46:34Speaker 10: I was going to the Saints.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Yeah, because pig five teams five, six, and like five
- 46:40Speaker 1: to eight don't need quarterbacks or they just drafted. So
- 46:44Speaker 1: it's one of those things. He'll either go top like
- 46:46Speaker 1: two or three or nine will be his next availability
- 46:52Speaker 1: because five is teams that just drafted a guy. That's
- 46:56Speaker 1: why they were saying that he most likely won't go
- 46:59Speaker 1: in at like five to eight window. We'll be back
- 47:03Speaker 1: more to Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 47:16Speaker 11: Don't Bowl Wayne or of the Sports Jock Show with
- 47:19Speaker 11: Wayne Dan videos coming up next.
- 47:23Speaker 19: Some people won't give you the real talk on drugs,
- 47:26Speaker 19: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 47:29Speaker 19: It's a powerful opioid, often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 47:33Speaker 19: with illicted drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 47:36Speaker 19: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about the
- 47:40Speaker 19: size of a few grains of sand, could potentially be lethal.
- 47:43Speaker 19: This isn't an AD to scare you, but it is
- 47:45Speaker 19: an AD to make you think twice. Get the facts
- 47:49Speaker 19: go to a real deal on fentanyl dot com. This
- 47:51Speaker 19: message is brought to you by the AD Council.
- 47:53Speaker 13: Most people out here think that taking care of one
- 47:56Speaker 13: another is important, and most people would step up for
- 47:59Speaker 13: a neighbor going through a tough time. Most people around
- 48:02Speaker 13: here help out friends and family when they need it.
- 48:05Speaker 13: But the funny thing is most of us won't look
- 48:07Speaker 13: for help when we need it. Talk to someone if
- 48:09Speaker 13: you're struggling with mental health, because most people out here
- 48:13Speaker 13: really care. Find more information at loveyormind Today dot org.

- 48:28Speaker 7: proud of you for finishing school. You'll tell me it's

- 48:33Speaker 7: make you as proud as you have made.

- 48:55Speaker 1: And now back to the sports giant, Wayne Gandy.
- 49:00Speaker 31: Center cord on sports news gossip blah blah blah.
- 49:07Speaker 32: Blah, cook that he couldn't never gave.
- 49:22Speaker 1: I ain't never gave no fill out with them, Wayne,
- 49:25Speaker 1: never making everything. Give this war shop, shot this war shock.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Wayne gaining up morning to you out there and listening on.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Give a big shout out to our man Mike Vic
- 49:39Speaker 1: as well. We were talking about spring games. Mike Vic
- 49:44Speaker 1: was able to host his first spring game over the
- 49:47Speaker 1: weekend for Norfolk State University. So a big shout out
- 49:53Speaker 1: there to Mike Vic. Had some guys, you know, pulling
- 49:57Speaker 1: a little Dion send guys like Alan Iverson and Tyrod
- 50:04Speaker 1: Taylor come out and greet the guys. And and I
- 50:09Speaker 1: want to say, Tyrod and Iverson, all those guys are
- 50:12Speaker 1: from the same area. So they all live.
- 50:14Speaker 10: In the Newport News.
- 50:18Speaker 1: They lived close to the Norfolk, right, Yeah, that's their
- 50:21Speaker 1: kind of area. So they were it's kind of like
- 50:23Speaker 1: a homecoming. And I think that's one of the things
- 50:26Speaker 1: of why they were so intrigued about getting Mike vic
- 50:29Speaker 1: a different personality set. Really on the other spectrum as
- 50:34Speaker 1: far as Orato conversation. Yeah, compared to Dion sand Mike
- 50:44Speaker 1: is just more of a superstar brand.
- 50:48Speaker 9: He answer the questions they asked him. That's it, you know,
- 50:54Speaker 9: how do you feel good?
- 50:58Speaker 1: Dion?
- 50:58Speaker 9: How do you feel as if? Sometimes when feelings come around?
- 51:09Speaker 1: So Norfolk State? Also, who else got higher the receiver?
- 51:15Speaker 1: The Shawn Jackson? Where's he at? I think that's Delaware State.
- 51:19Speaker 1: Delaware State. So DeShawn Jackson his head and during this season, Okay, okay,
- 51:26Speaker 1: I even I think a couple of weeks ago, I said,
- 51:28Speaker 1: I took head coach at Morehouse, Terrence Mathis, and he
- 51:33Speaker 1: hopes to have enough success the state ahead coach first
- 51:38Speaker 1: of all, and maybe create something with the I mean
- 51:45Speaker 1: with Mike vig or DeShawn Jackson down the road. But
- 51:50Speaker 1: I loved how he was like that. I got first ball.
- 51:52Speaker 1: I got to keep my job. I can't ain't scheduled
- 51:56Speaker 1: too far out. That's the one thing I think all coaches,
- 52:01Speaker 1: they don't do too much long term planning. No more.
- 52:03Speaker 1: There ain't gonna be none of that Tom Landry stuff. Yeah,
- 52:07Speaker 1: but I think thirty six months city.
- 52:12Speaker 9: Yeah, And in this new landscape, success is measured differently
- 52:19Speaker 9: because I've gone to uh More House when they had
- 52:23Speaker 9: their homecoming football game and the game was being played
- 52:27Speaker 9: and nobody was in the stadium. They were all outside
- 52:30Speaker 9: doing the tailgate party thing and no.
- 52:33Speaker 1: One was watching for you. So you're saying it was
- 52:35Speaker 1: about fifty two thousand people outside outside state? How many
- 52:39Speaker 1: was in May? How many people on each team? What
- 52:43Speaker 1: I'm saying, how many people on each team and the
- 52:45Speaker 1: band people was in there?
- 52:47Speaker 9: And then there was like the people too old to
- 52:49Speaker 9: be doing all this walking around stuff. They was there
- 52:52Speaker 9: when it was more house school for black people.
- 52:55Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. They were there a long
- 52:57Speaker 1: time ago.
- 52:58Speaker 9: So it's just to have the attendance go up and
- 53:02Speaker 9: to have people actually paying attention to your program, I
- 53:05Speaker 9: would think be a measure of success. But in this
- 53:08Speaker 9: new nil and national sponsors and stadiums named after corporations,
- 53:15Speaker 9: it's hard to just let your winning speak for itself.
- 53:18Speaker 1: No doubt, And I think that that's what I'm saying
- 53:20Speaker 1: with Mike Vig DeShawn Jackson. You're trying to the new
- 53:23Speaker 1: model is pro sports first of all. Second, it is
- 53:28Speaker 1: being able to get advertisers to come in. Uh, you
- 53:33Speaker 1: know with these guys, they are already some kind of
- 53:36Speaker 1: connected to coke or PEPSI or aren't we all connected
- 53:41Speaker 1: to coke? Am I right? I said to Coca Cola,
- 53:45Speaker 1: Coca Colon and help their program, similar as Dion set
- 53:52Speaker 1: that template for at Jackson State. And you're having a
- 53:56Speaker 1: lot of because now, as I said, you have the
- 54:00Speaker 1: ability now to have those extra coaches that allow you
- 54:05Speaker 1: really just to be the ad man, the face and
- 54:10Speaker 1: the product, your your own hype man. You're promoted. You know,
- 54:15Speaker 1: you know that coach head coaches used to roll up
- 54:19Speaker 1: their sleeves and actually have to coach, and it seems
- 54:22Speaker 1: like they don't have to do that. There used to
- 54:25Speaker 1: be almost a stigma attached to a school like a
- 54:30Speaker 1: Jackson State that had a coach Prime and then he
- 54:33Speaker 1: left and went somewhere else.
- 54:35Speaker 9: But now they're still touting that, hey, he left us first,
- 54:40Speaker 9: you know what I mean? In this new landscape, that's
- 54:43Speaker 9: a selling point for them. When you know Prime was
- 54:45Speaker 9: there for a season or two and people are still
- 54:48Speaker 9: going there and sponsoring and attaching their wagon to that star.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Well, Mike congratulations of being the head coach up there
- 54:56Speaker 1: at Norfolk State and getting some of that home cooking.
- 54:59Speaker 1: We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 55:06Speaker 33: Beyond Budge twelve to the DA and judge never been
- 55:09Speaker 33: a dug, never been a scrugg Oh by god?
- 55:12Speaker 1: Now all you want to judge better than who must
- 55:13Speaker 1: behind them?
- 55:14Speaker 7: Drugs?
- 55:14Speaker 33: Put it an I mentioned with the bubbles in the tub,
- 55:16Speaker 33: how'd you want to comport you through? With the stud
- 55:18Speaker 33: said yes, don't try me and a lamb.
- 55:20Speaker 11: I'd be damned, but don't go awayne word of the
- 55:23Speaker 11: Sports Jock Show with Wayne Dandy is coming up next,
- 55:28Speaker 11: and now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 55:30Speaker 15: Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical
- 55:34Speaker 15: piece of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually
- 55:38Speaker 15: have life insurance.
- 55:39Speaker 34: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 55:40Speaker 34: just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 55:43Speaker 23: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 55:45Speaker 1: What about you?
- 55:46Speaker 22: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 55:48Speaker 34: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 55:50Speaker 34: bills piling up, I was worried how my family will
- 55:52Speaker 34: survived without me? That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 55:54Speaker 34: the insurance informant.
- 55:55Speaker 15: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family
- 55:58Speaker 15: security no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 56:01Speaker 35: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I'll
- 56:03Speaker 35: leave my family that bills their benefits.
- 56:05Speaker 1: The answer is easy, whether.
- 56:06Speaker 15: You're twenty five or fifty, whether you earn a little
- 56:09Speaker 15: or a lot, All you need is the insurance informat
- 56:12Speaker 15: to help you build a foundation of security, because without you,
- 56:15Speaker 15: your family will have two options, benefits or bills.
- 56:19Speaker 22: Which legacy will you leave behind?
- 56:21Speaker 15: Log on today benefits or bills dot com that's benefits
- 56:25Speaker 15: or bills dot com.
- 56:28Speaker 36: I never realized that I'd be taking care of a
- 56:31Speaker 36: two year old and a nine year old on my own.
- 56:33Speaker 36: I think men can be a little stubborn sometimes, where
- 56:37Speaker 36: pride gets in the way and they may want the help,
- 56:40Speaker 36: they may not know how to ask. With my traditions,
- 56:43Speaker 36: with the family support in line, and just with my
- 56:46Speaker 36: mind frame, I was able to turn a negative into
- 56:50Speaker 36: a positive. I knew I needed more tools on my
- 56:53Speaker 36: toolbox to take care of these little girls that just
- 56:56Speaker 36: lost their mother. It's time for me to be that father.
- 56:59Speaker 36: That I'm who it could be. I think just being
- 57:02Speaker 36: that good role model as well, that model's good behavior
- 57:05Speaker 36: in front of them, going to work every day, coming
- 57:08Speaker 36: home and being able to put on that smile. The
- 57:11Speaker 36: biggest reward about being a dad is sitting back and
- 57:14Speaker 36: watching your kids be happy.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Never stop being a dad.
- 57:19Speaker 36: That's dedication.

- 59:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to this wy Shock Show. I'm in this
- 59:02Speaker 1: war shock Wing Candy. Good morning to you out there
- 59:06Speaker 1: this thing land. It is Monday, command you. Greg McKinney
- 59:09Speaker 1: in the studio. Happy belated Easter. I hope you had
- 59:12Speaker 1: a great weekend if you're still getting back home as
- 59:15Speaker 1: I said, Uh, people now, especially with the school systems,
- 59:20Speaker 1: have really kind of adjusted to giving those Mondays off
- 59:26Speaker 1: in a lot of places where they give the parent
- 59:29Speaker 1: a little more time to get back home and situate
- 59:32Speaker 1: it and I feel like they have to be rushed
- 59:34Speaker 1: just for that Sunday. And I was just speculating because,
- 59:39Speaker 1: like I said, this morning, light traffic, and my two
- 59:41Speaker 1: teammates here today got here so early that it shocked
- 59:46Speaker 1: me that they were here.
- 59:48Speaker 9: It caught me off Godsport shock for real, for real.
- 59:52Speaker 9: I got out there like, wow, there's nobody out here.
- 59:56Speaker 9: There was even one of those instances were on the
- 59:59Speaker 9: highway this mor morning on the Interstate. There was a
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: fire truck on the shoulder of the road with the
- 1:00:05Speaker 9: lights on, like blocking traffic.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: And it still didn't stop anything like usually the yellow lights,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: red lights mean will be out here for two hours
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: this morning, it didn't stop a thing. People just kept
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: going normal speed. I Am Legend, the two thousand and
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: seven horror action movie which they say I Am Legend
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: two is gonna come out here at some point with
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: Will Smith. Wait, did you see I Am Legend one? Yeah?
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I saw. I saw I Am Legend one and didn't
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: he die? And I Am One? And wasn't the world over? Yeah?
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: He the the woman and her child.
- 1:00:48Speaker 9: Oh they went and they went to the safe. Yeah, okay,
- 1:00:52Speaker 9: because I said I've heard about I Am Legend two
- 1:00:57Speaker 9: with Will Smith for years.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: He's gonna do that. Now, how he gonna do that?
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Is he gonna come back as a robot that got
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: fused with the robot when he blew up. I guess
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: he fused with the robots. I guess he fused his
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: mentality fused with the robot. Come on, man, how are
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: they doing this? And then he went on, also he
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: may remember I robot. I am legend. Then he made
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I robot. I mentioned I robot because they had a
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: robot marathon over in Hong Kong this weekend where they
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: had more than twenty two leg robots compete in the
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: world's first humanoid half marathon on Saturday over in China.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: You know, now, what interest is it to see robots? Well,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: I tell you.
- 1:01:55Speaker 9: Back in the Marines, they used to call these military
- 1:01:59Speaker 9: maneuvers where they would test out off the new equipment.
- 1:02:02Speaker 9: So they had to have a way to test it.
- 1:02:04Speaker 9: But ain't nobody gonna go for We're just testing our
- 1:02:07Speaker 9: robotic soldiers. So let's say it's MMA match. No, no, no,
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: that'll show how dangerous they are. Let's make it a marathon. Yeah, slow,
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: we don't I mean, they don't want to show the
- 1:02:22Speaker 9: pure dominance. So let's just see if they'll run for
- 1:02:26Speaker 9: a half marathon and the humans will be okay with that.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: For a while. Yeah, they're in a half marathon, which
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: would be what thirteen miles thirteen miles marathon and from
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: what the report is saying, the humans won. Yes, okay,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: so we're steal faster than the robot Kenny steal some hope,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: that's not No, that's not what rigged. Yeah, that was
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: beta testing.
- 1:02:56Speaker 9: They just want to the humans were gathering the robots
- 1:02:59Speaker 9: were gathering information just you know, how to mimic heart
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: rate and and sweat patterns for when they implement them
- 1:03:08Speaker 9: among us as regular people. They need to look and
- 1:03:12Speaker 9: sound and feel normal. So how do we test them.
- 1:03:17Speaker 9: We put them in real life situations. So you and command,
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: you're saying they hadn't turned the motor all the way up. No, No,
- 1:03:25Speaker 9: this was this was on like with Madden beginner. This
- 1:03:30Speaker 9: was Madden beginner level.
- 1:03:32Speaker 10: This was this was an expert like that's and that's
- 1:03:36Speaker 10: that's too much too fast, or that that would put
- 1:03:38Speaker 10: the fear of exactly in everyone, like, oh now the
- 1:03:42Speaker 10: robots can just.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: The robot ran a thirteen mile half marathon in four minutes.
- 1:03:48Speaker 9: That's naw, we're not. We'll never get away from them.
- 1:03:51Speaker 9: We need to feel like we can out distance them
- 1:03:53Speaker 9: for a little bit if.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: They wanted to.
- 1:03:55Speaker 10: If you want to run like Usain Bolt speed for marathon,
- 1:03:59Speaker 10: they have built the robot to do that, but give
- 1:04:02Speaker 10: it a different battery pack.
- 1:04:04Speaker 9: I mean, the electric car can go from zero to
- 1:04:07Speaker 9: sixty in point three two seconds.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: Why don't you think weighs for seven thousand pounds, you know,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: why don't you think this thing go that fast? Well,
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: we're going with this though. Are we going to the military?
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: Are we going to We're going to command you. We
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: got we got robot races.
- 1:04:26Speaker 10: Now their potential military uses probably some commerce as far
- 1:04:36Speaker 10: as like shipping or you know, like they already use
- 1:04:40Speaker 10: the robots for like Amazon or some other services where
- 1:04:43Speaker 10: you put them in the thing and then it'll.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Just go to its location. They have they have a
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Chick fil A robot that rides through this year. Now, now,
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: this is is it heated inside? Be thinking that food
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: be cold? Just riding around in the wind. No, I'm
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: sure it's heated and sealed and all of that stuff. Now,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: this is the thing.
- 1:05:11Speaker 9: Usually what they would say is the reasoning behind putting
- 1:05:16Speaker 9: a robot into the place of a human occupant is
- 1:05:19Speaker 9: to prevent the human from any occupational safety hazard or
- 1:05:25Speaker 9: danger i e. Mining heavy equipment, that kind of thing,
- 1:05:30Speaker 9: or like with drones, to take them out of harm's
- 1:05:35Speaker 9: way if there's a combat situation. So they have to
- 1:05:39Speaker 9: have some form of reference for aggression and biting and
- 1:05:44Speaker 9: all of that, and the ability to do that. Otherwise
- 1:05:48Speaker 9: they're just stocking shells at the grocery store, which we
- 1:05:52Speaker 9: don't really you.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Know what I'm saying.
- 1:05:53Speaker 9: That's a waste of technology just for that. So I
- 1:05:58Speaker 9: imagine that sooner or later they're looking to replace humans
- 1:06:03Speaker 9: in at least that capacity, Like the military won't be
- 1:06:06Speaker 9: staffed by humans anymore.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: And so what are humans supposed to do? Be social media?
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Once greg has turned everything into robotics, what are humans
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: supposed to do? Create better robots? Like just improve on
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: what already exists? But what do you what are all
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: the people that now no longer have jobs supposed to
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: do a robot go to robots school whatever, because those
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: are the only people who will be employed are people
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: who know how to build and maintain and program robots.
- 1:06:44Speaker 9: So if you don't have that technology, you will be
- 1:06:47Speaker 9: moving and then there won't be any blue collar manual
- 1:06:50Speaker 9: labor sector for you to feel. One of the things
- 1:06:54Speaker 9: that they are touting now, and interestingly enough, I've come
- 1:06:58Speaker 9: into contact with them quite a bit in the last
- 1:07:01Speaker 9: couple of weeks is h vac and plumbing. They say
- 1:07:04Speaker 9: that those are some of the few occupations that won't
- 1:07:07Speaker 9: be able to be replaced by a robot, so, you know,
- 1:07:11Speaker 9: and there's a shortage of over a half million of each,
- 1:07:14Speaker 9: so maybe they'll you know, we'll see senior plumbers and
- 1:07:20Speaker 9: HVAC technicians.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: I don't know. Okay, Well, we seem to be trying
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: to make all the sci fi movies come true. Yeah, man,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: And then we always given the robots, we know how
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: they always end well really understanding.
- 1:07:36Speaker 9: Why can't we just make them like basketball players instead
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: of instead of giving them like control over the nuclear weapons, Like,
- 1:07:44Speaker 9: why not make them work the ice cream parlor or
- 1:07:47Speaker 9: something like that, so if they freak out, we just
- 1:07:49Speaker 9: all get really cold. But it's a flavorful kind of
- 1:07:52Speaker 9: coal instead of you know, I'm going to push the
- 1:07:56Speaker 9: button and now we're all like war games.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Well, the first humanoid half marathon has taken place in China,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: and I guess a couple of years from now it
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: will be kind of like the movies, like we're saying,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: where they have competitions and people will be putting their
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: roboty in because we've all already seen battle bots, like
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: battle bots, that kind of thing. We've seen that already,
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: And I guess at that point you can turn up
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: the battery pack all the way, all the way see
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: how fast it goes. But we'll be back with more
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: the Sports Jock Show right after this. I guts on
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: the right own. I got something to where right own.

- 1:17:06Speaker 9: I think we're gonna work on our pronunciations today with
- 1:17:11Speaker 9: Google im patha rack.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: It sounds like a name and an activity. You see
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So we're gonna google in path of
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: raw today. Yes, those are the birthdays here. Texas man
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: got caught. Uh he smuggled some rare baby spider monkeys
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: across the border.
- 1:17:39Speaker 27: Uh.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: And then he had the bright idea he was gonna
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: try to sell him on Facebook. That that's that doesn't
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: sound like you're not trying to get caught, right. I
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: thought you had to go to the dark web to
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: get you a spider monkey see see now, which is
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: which is part of my problem with today's society.
- 1:18:00Speaker 9: Spider monkey fell used to be specialized stuff. You had
- 1:18:05Speaker 9: to know a spider monkey man. You have to know
- 1:18:07Speaker 9: a spider monkey man. You just couldn't go out all
- 1:18:10Speaker 9: Willy Nillley trafficking spider monkeys.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: But now they'd have made it so easy. Everybody think
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: they can do.
- 1:18:21Speaker 19: Right.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Right, They got the little smuggle spider monkey kid. You
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. You know how to hide them.
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: But once you get them to the United States, what
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna.
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: Do with them?
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: I ain't got no network people to get up off
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: these spider monkeys. I gotta go on the dude on Facebook,
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Facebook Marketplace, which is an old I guess would being
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: the old what they would think would be an old platform?
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Come on, right, and I mean it's not ancient, but no,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: some people see Facebook as an old platform.
- 1:18:55Speaker 9: Yeah, but I'm saying, you know, the birds and the
- 1:18:57Speaker 9: bees people gonna be out there searching that birds and bees.
- 1:19:01Speaker 9: People be searching for trafficking of birds and bees on
- 1:19:06Speaker 9: them on the Internet and Facebook marketplace, not CRYPTI it's
- 1:19:10Speaker 9: not like you're gonna go under the raid, are there.
- 1:19:13Speaker 9: I wonder what the ad said, how many did he have?
- 1:19:16Speaker 9: It's an ad too. Oh yeah, that's good. I wonder
- 1:19:19Speaker 9: what the ad said, though, don't the police. I got
- 1:19:22Speaker 9: these spider monkey Hey, don't tell the police. But if
- 1:19:26Speaker 9: you're looking for a spider monkey, I.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Know what, dude. That just sounds like we all going
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: to jail though.
- 1:19:32Speaker 9: When you open, when you when you open your sales
- 1:19:35Speaker 9: pitch with hey, don't tell the police. Yeah, somebody's going
- 1:19:40Speaker 9: to jail.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: We'll be back or the Sports Shock Show after this.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: We can go Forney, we can go for that man
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: By Truck. I'm aligned with the factory rounds. I got
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: the ninety years, the versions of Bribers, and really.
- 1:19:53Speaker 22: It's going to the point.
- 1:19:54Speaker 23: I don't even cago juice in the safety I don't
- 1:19:56Speaker 23: even wear.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Doing shoes and clothes and see what they're doing. Don't
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: go away.
- 1:20:02Speaker 11: Poor of the Sports Josh Show with Wayne Dan videos

- 1:20:48Speaker 34: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:20:50Speaker 34: just getting started with our family and thought we live forever.

- 1:20:55Speaker 23: about you?
- 1:20:55Speaker 22: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:20:58Speaker 34: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:21:00Speaker 34: Bill's piling up, I was worried how my family will
- 1:21:02Speaker 34: survive without me? That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 1:21:04Speaker 34: the insurance informant.

- 1:21:40Speaker 2: practice yoga.
- 1:21:42Speaker 22: My dad's going to a club, but not a book club,
- 1:21:44Speaker 22: a salsa club.
- 1:21:45Speaker 23: Finding new hobbies comes with age.
- 1:21:48Speaker 16: My mom has started getting lost and not knowing where
- 1:21:50Speaker 16: she's going.
- 1:21:51Speaker 29: Becoming lost or disoriented doesn't confusion with time or place
- 1:21:55Speaker 29: may be a sign of Alzheimer's. An early diagnosis can

- 1:22:09Speaker 1: And now back to the sports job. Wayne Gandy.
- 1:22:15Speaker 31: Player's Lounge. I've been given full access to the player's
- 1:22:20Speaker 31: lounge on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:22:32Speaker 22: Don't let me down easy.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: If you don't leave me, baby, go and leave me
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: all the way. Don't ask for all your things back
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: causin I'm a name. Yeah, just to go and take
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: back what you say.
- 1:22:46Speaker 22: Burn all the bridges. Don't ask forgiveness.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Walk back to this Woe Shock shop, this Moore Shock,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: Wayne Candy, Big Kenny. Before I forget, you did have
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: one question about the track meet, ye from earlier on
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: I went over it was a regional track meet. My
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: good friend Will his son runs for Woodward Academy, which
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: Woodward here in Atlanta. They typically have some good sports
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: all around their private school football team. The last couple
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: of years as well, they were very dominant on the track,
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: especially the girls team. As I mentioned, they had about
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: four Division one track girls. I think three of them
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: were seniors. And your question was centered around that.
- 1:23:40Speaker 9: Yeah, is it we've seen here, especially in the Atlanta
- 1:23:44Speaker 9: area with football and basketball primarily, but it's expanding to
- 1:23:51Speaker 9: baseball where you'll find a dominant team in a sport
- 1:23:56Speaker 9: and then you begin to learn that the children's first
- 1:24:01Speaker 9: year or two in high school sports was in another state.
- 1:24:06Speaker 9: They're from Oklahoma, they're from Florida, they're from Texas. But
- 1:24:09Speaker 9: now they're the quarterback at the private school here in
- 1:24:12Speaker 9: the Atlanta area, and miraculously four or five teammates from
- 1:24:17Speaker 9: Florida or Oklahoma or here with them, and somehow they
- 1:24:21Speaker 9: just all transferred together or relocated to the area.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: And I wanted to know, are you seeing any of
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: that in track and field now? So you're some nation,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: you're saying that very few neighborhoods produce four Division one
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: female athletes at the same time that all run the
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: hundred from Wood Academy. That's what I'm saying, specifically, even
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: deeper than like all of us run the hundred yard.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: We're on the hundred relay team.
- 1:24:56Speaker 9: And she's from Florida, she's from Oklahoma, she from somewhere
- 1:25:00Speaker 9: in Michigan, and she's from Delaware. And just in the
- 1:25:04Speaker 9: last season sounds and I'm not saying fishy. I'm just
- 1:25:09Speaker 9: saying waters close. Necessarily, they're fish in the water. I'm
- 1:25:14Speaker 9: just saying we're near a body of water.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Is what it sounds like. I think that you find
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: that more and more people now will make courtesies for
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: their kids that were not really something twenty five years ago.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: With sports becoming as big as it is, it is
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: the premiere entertainment. We see that as the years go by,
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: money is trickling down faster. We are to pro college
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: pro sports to a point where it's trickling down in
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: a float. Yeah, and we're we're we're really sitting here
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: close to being like other countries where you just can
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: go pro at fifteen in all sports. Listen, you know
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: over time we do it for tennis, right, a couple
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: of you know, little things like that. But we seem
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: like we're just going to pull the veil back and
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: if you have a junior sixteen year old Lebron, we're
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: just gonna put him in some level of pro. In
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: the last and you know that Arena and Venus like
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: the last.
- 1:26:36Speaker 9: Level of NBA Draft, we saw several players went in
- 1:26:39Speaker 9: the first round top ten, fifteen picks.
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: Overtime Elite, Overtime right here.
- 1:26:46Speaker 9: Overtime Elite is right there in Atlantic Station, which is
- 1:26:50Speaker 9: a tourist part of Atlanta. And it's just an arena.
- 1:26:54Speaker 9: It's not school, it's not an academy. It's an actual
- 1:26:57Speaker 9: basketball arena where these kids go and hope until somebody
- 1:27:01Speaker 9: draft them.
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: And that's there's. I don't see any books.
- 1:27:05Speaker 9: I don't see any libraries, any places to go research anything.
- 1:27:10Speaker 9: It's literally an arena in the middle of the city
- 1:27:13Speaker 9: where kids because you can tell you and you can.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: I guess if Overtime Elite admits you, you can transfer
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: there and just go under the label of home school.
- 1:27:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: And basically, and I don't know whether they get a
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: cut of the ticket sales, because they do sell tickets
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: to the day Is games. You know, I don't think
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: they're you know, theirs.
- 1:27:38Speaker 9: Yeah, and Overtime and Lead ain't playing Grady High School.
- 1:27:43Speaker 9: They playing the kids from Texas that bring in a
- 1:27:46Speaker 9: team of guys that are going to a school similar. Yeah,
- 1:27:50Speaker 9: an IMGEH which is down in Florida. They fly around
- 1:27:55Speaker 9: and play those different And you don't need a lot
- 1:27:59Speaker 9: when you're in there. It's not like you need a
- 1:28:01Speaker 9: ten team league. If you can find you six teams,
- 1:28:06Speaker 9: yeah in a certain area that y'all can just rotate
- 1:28:09Speaker 9: and play each other.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and all the top high school athletes. Yeah, you're
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: playing the top teams. I'm gonna geting you twenty five
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: hours for the ticket. You get that and get a
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: little cut of the ticket, and.
- 1:28:23Speaker 37: You can.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: You don't have to because remember, as I always tell people,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: the NBA say, you just have to be one year removed.
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: That's all from high school. It does not say you
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: have to go to college. It just says you have
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: to be one year removed from high school age. I
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: don't even think people understand what I'm saying. It doesn't
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: even say you have to graduate in high school. Say
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: you had whatever year, you would have graduated one year
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: basically from basically, you just got to be nineteen. Yep,
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: that's it's really what they're saying. You just got it,
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: just like the NFL is basically saying you just got
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: to be twenty one so I can but you. That
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: doesn't mean that based on when your birthday fall, you
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: might not be twenty sometimes. But basically they're just saying
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: three years rem moved from high school, which will put
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: you about about twenty one. NBA is saying nineteen. They're saying,
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: no matter where you are on the planet, you come
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: here at nineteen, you can play. We'll draft your first pick,
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: which is pretty nice. Women women, Ye were just draft
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: if you get to hustlebody, well, bro, why wouldn't you?
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: And I think you're going to see that with the WNBA,
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: I doubt that they're going to continue. I can see
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: them dropping at least one year down and getting some
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: of these top tier juniors, especially what they're expansion. If
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: they're going to expand, and you imagine they're going to
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: let the page Beckers could have went two years ago
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: if someone let you or somebody like Juju can go now,
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: Juju watkins from you and can go now, you know,
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: so they'll get They might not be one year, but
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: they might be two years remove my high school. Yeah.
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: Do you think just to get themselves a little because
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: sometimes that little window is just to give myself time
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: to evaluate. You playing a little more stiffer competition. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: from somewhere wherever that might be. You're going to go
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: play some basketball against some people, and I want it
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: to be more adult than just you were playing against
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: a fourteen year old in high school dominating her. I
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: want to see you at eighteen nineteen push against someone
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: that might be twenty five, because that's what you're going into, right,
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: get a better gauge of what it is that I'm getting.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: I see a lot of these institutions though, with the
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: advent of these large sponsorships, trying to hold onto these
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: athletes a little longer. Because with the Caitlin Clarks, with
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: the Page Beckers, we can sell jerseys.
- 1:31:00Speaker 9: It's for them while they're here. So if we can
- 1:31:02Speaker 9: keep her from going from high school straight into the
- 1:31:05Speaker 9: WNBA within a year, that gives us two or three
- 1:31:08Speaker 9: years of generating income with her.
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: Before she goes. Similar, like I just said, with someone
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: like a Travis Hunter and the boy mean to maximize,
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: then we can automatically instead of waiting yes and letting
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: his jersey even get complicated because you got teams like
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys or like the Pittsburgh Stellers, they have so
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: many guys that are in the Hall of Fame, they
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: don't they can't really retire a number. They could just
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: put your name in the Ring of Fan because I
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: got like fifteen Hall of Famers. Yeah, and I only
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: got eighty numbers, and I need fifty. I need sixty
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: of them. It's one of those kinds of things, So
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: they just retire your name. Colorado Dion, as I said
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: alle to him, he's been in the game. He's always
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: been a great strategist of promoting himself. So when you're
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: telling me the a d they didn't come, this is
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: a Dion Sanders who has always been able to a
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: coach prime production production, been able to sell something, being
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: able to maximize however, Colorado to be able to do that. Now, yes,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: it was intentional. It was something that he could sell.
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: Is something that can promote something for even the movie,
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: whether whatever movie they might be about to put out
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: or documentary. All that to culminate how the end of
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: the story went. And come on, now you got to
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: get in prime mind. Baby, we selling a salesman. Now
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: what I'm saying, I'm telling you to let it culminate.
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: And that's really how it ended up. Come on now,
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: I mean he's setting it up and talk show coming
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: off to be it's going straight to ESP and now, yeah,
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: and I did see something interesting on his talk show.
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: He was talking to some ladies here recently. And that's
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: the only thing this confuses me. We've seen him get
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: a little rouchy with Shannon years ago and then whatever
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: his new show that he had I Got Time, We
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: Got Time or something like we Got Time Today or
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: something he was talking to some young ladies and sharing
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: with them that he's never pleasured himself, and I kept thinking.
- 1:33:40Speaker 9: This is not.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: We're kind of kind of productive, right.
- 1:33:45Speaker 9: Or is it me or different direction? I mean, because like,
- 1:33:50Speaker 9: should that be a topic that Monday through Saturday you're
- 1:33:56Speaker 9: walking the walk of the cloth, and then on Sunday
- 1:34:01Speaker 9: you get your raunchy day in you know what I'm saying,
- 1:34:04Speaker 9: Like there's one day a week where you'll dedicate yourself
- 1:34:07Speaker 9: to walking on that side, and I think sometimes it
- 1:34:11Speaker 9: confuses what's going on the rest.
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: Of the week. For me, it does. Yeah, commanche, what
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: do you think? Because sometimes I don't want it just
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: to be mean, but it seemed to be conflicting, Like
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: you're discussing young men's growth and easy getting going to
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: the pros, and I know you want to do your talk.
- 1:34:30Speaker 10: Show, but it's trying to seem like he's more than
- 1:34:34Speaker 10: just just a football coach or just a football guy.
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: That I need two female guests and we're gonna get
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: on a subject.
- 1:34:47Speaker 10: It just to show that I am, like I am
- 1:34:49Speaker 10: more than I am more than just football, like I
- 1:34:53Speaker 10: am a'm it's humanizing and branding like I'm a it's
- 1:34:59Speaker 10: a you can go to me as far as having
- 1:35:03Speaker 10: a lifestyle conversation or we talk about politics or movies
- 1:35:09Speaker 10: or like we can talk about anything. And that is
- 1:35:12Speaker 10: in a way to appeal to his two recruits or
- 1:35:17Speaker 10: perspective students, I think, to increase enrollment or whatever.
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: So you can see James Franklin, the head coach of
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: Penn State, having the James Franklin Show, but not to guess,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: but not talk about football, right Like, and I'm telling
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: you there's one guy I put my hand on the
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: Bible I ain't never pleasure.
- 1:35:40Speaker 10: Well he's really he's really the only one like Willing
- 1:35:46Speaker 10: or the one who feels like there is there is
- 1:35:48Speaker 10: the time to do that.
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: But when when is there time even on that subject? Well,
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: and that's what I'm saying.
- 1:35:55Speaker 9: There are a lot of times when people humanize themselves
- 1:35:59Speaker 9: and show themselves outside of their uh with the discipline
- 1:36:02Speaker 9: that they're known for, but they still do it in
- 1:36:06Speaker 9: a way that solidifies them in a certain demographic.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Howard Stern was a shock jock. Everything he talked about
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: he talked about in an irreverent, shocking way. Uh, we've
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: got conservative talk show hosts, We've got uh the liberal
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: talk show host. He he jumps the fence. Today he's
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: a Christian Uh, leader of the people, and tomorrow he
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: I dare you what I ain't never had to do it.
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: We never had to do it. We'll be back to
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Sports Shock Show right after this.
- 1:36:42Speaker 37: This boy to learn then, I ain't know droplets, didn't
- 1:36:45Speaker 37: rope watch some mouth because I got so.
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: I got dominos inside of my work, my headed out
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: of my dog, got elbow swing and.
- 1:36:52Speaker 11: Watch don't go Awayne board of the Sports John Show
- 1:36:57Speaker 11: with Wayne Dandy is coming up next.

- 1:38:49Speaker 19: Some people won't give you the real talk on drugs,
- 1:38:52Speaker 19: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 1:38:56Speaker 19: It's a powerful opioate, often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 1:38:59Speaker 19: with the list drugs. It can even be pressed into
- 1:39:02Speaker 19: counterfeit pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about
- 1:39:07Speaker 19: the size of a few grains of sand, could potentially
- 1:39:09Speaker 19: be lethal. This isn't an ad to scare you, but
- 1:39:11Speaker 19: it isn't ad to make you think twice. Get the facts.
- 1:39:15Speaker 19: Go to real deal on fentanyl dot com. This message
- 1:39:18Speaker 19: is brought to you by the Ad Council.
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: And now back to the sports Giant, Wayne Candy.
- 1:39:36Speaker 36: It's way.
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: Logs like you can see a sports jaint. I'll sing
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: even cany Welcome.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: Back to the Sports Shock Shote. The Sports Shock Wayne
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: Gandy and A playoffs started on Saturday. Officially, they got
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: the play ins in and out, and the playoffs started
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: some good games. As I said, one of the more
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: interesting things a couple of games I turned into for
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: the moments was it seemed like the crowds really were
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: into the games early on. A lot of the games
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: had more of a four or five game than the
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: first game. Yeah, it seemed like everybody was in there.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: It was a certain intensity to the crowd, like we
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: need this game today. It didn't come off like this
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: is the first game of the playoffs, like we're gonna
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: fill them out today, then we'll get them tomorrow. It wasn't.
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: And I know command she said, it didn't get to watch.
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: That's why I'm filling you in. It was a good atmosphere.
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: Not that you're gonna get that tonight, So don't tunely
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: in the night and be trying to figure out why
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: you're not getting that field. But I do know, Sarah.
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: And then Sunday it had that more than just the
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: first game. It had more of how you see those
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: four fifth six games do a die to the game.
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: Golden State coming up big last night, beating Houston in
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: a series where a lot of people picked Houston, Miami, Cleveland.
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: If you didn't know Cleveland had the first or second
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: best record in the entire NBA. They are number one
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: in the East. Boston just rolling over Orlando and the
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: big blowout by OKC who beat Memphis by fifty one points.
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: Fifty one point. I don't know if Vegas like that?
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: Did they? I made Joab want to reach for his
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: little imaginary gun. I tell you that.
- 1:41:57Speaker 9: Speaking of which, yesterday, White I think it was drained
- 1:42:02Speaker 9: to three, turned around and then.
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: He gripped his side piece, gripped his side arm. Did
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: you see it? No, I did not Derick White from
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: White from Boston Celtics.
- 1:42:12Speaker 9: He hit what was a three pointer, and he turns
- 1:42:17Speaker 9: around and he starts running down the sidelines and he
- 1:42:20Speaker 9: reaches for his hip and grabs a sidearm. He never
- 1:42:26Speaker 9: pulled it up, he never let off one, but he
- 1:42:30Speaker 9: definitely reached for it. And I was wondering, is this
- 1:42:35Speaker 9: just the direction we're gonna go. You ain't say nothing
- 1:42:37Speaker 9: to Job. You didn't make Josh stop. So now here
- 1:42:41Speaker 9: I'm going with my new celebration. I guess he wants
- 1:42:48Speaker 9: to bring some some light and attention to him.
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: You know, some guys, maybe he's an olympian and and
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: he's overshadowed with Jason Jayden and Jalen Brown's. Maybe he's
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: trying to make sure you understand that he should be
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: accounted for one thing about yesterday online, Phil Jackson, Yes,
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: the Great Phil Jackson, called out the n b A
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: for scheduling regular season games on Christmas and Easter Sunday,
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: as again, the NBA tests faith by playing multiple games
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: on Christmas and Easter sacred days. Command you, Greg big Kenny.
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: Phil Jackson is not a fan of the scheduling of
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: NBA games, and it might be that it's an all
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: day affair. Maybe maybe he's good with like the one game,
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: but basically they run the whole gambit of games. They
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: started like one, it's like what five games? He had
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: run three and five and seven and ten. Maybe it's
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: a I don't I can't really from yesterday there were
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: three games. I think there was one o'clock, three o'clock
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: and the seven and ten. Oh okay, so there were
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: there were four yeah, four games, yes, okay, because I
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: never saw the ten o'clock.
- 1:44:23Speaker 10: But I guess in this case they've played a lot
- 1:44:29Speaker 10: of the games are going to take place on the
- 1:44:31Speaker 10: weekends and then maybe once during the week, so like
- 1:44:40Speaker 10: they've been playing on Easter for and that that that's lame.
- 1:44:44Speaker 10: Like this is kind of where it's always how it's
- 1:44:46Speaker 10: always been the.
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: Forces faith wood it would it be, but it sounds
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: like something maybe he's been complaining with Like he.
- 1:44:54Speaker 9: He makes it sound as if people are having to
- 1:44:57Speaker 9: struggle with their this to either watch the game or
- 1:45:02Speaker 9: practice their faith. And people of faith would imagine that
- 1:45:05Speaker 9: there's no choice at all, that choice makes itself. But
- 1:45:11Speaker 9: would that guarantee even if they didn't play the game,
- 1:45:13Speaker 9: that people would all be in church or people would
- 1:45:16Speaker 9: be somewhere worshiping, or would they find something else to
- 1:45:19Speaker 9: feel that time?
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: Well, they honor the n C double A. They don't
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: play games on days that they select, like I think
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: the Final four day they don't have a game, do they.
- 1:45:29Speaker 10: Uh, well, one National Championship game they don't play, or
- 1:45:34Speaker 10: they play earlier in the day. But that I think
- 1:45:42Speaker 10: that's the only day really that the NBA it goes
- 1:45:46Speaker 10: out of its way, right, Yeah.
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: And it's it's it's kind of like Christmas. The NFL
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: used to respect Chris Christmas, so they would do everything
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: to avoid something on Christmas at the point, even to
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: the point they would put it on Christmas Eve if
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: the if it fell on a Sunday, but they typically
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: would not play on Christmas unless Christmas fell on a Sunday.
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: Now they're going and telling you that no matter what
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: day Christmas is on, we're going to have an NFL game.
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: Remember we were talking about the Chiefs are even volunteering
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: to have it on that day, Christmas Day advertising fees. Yeah.
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: So I don't know. I don't know that it Phil
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: is saying that he is of any faith or what
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: faith he's of. I think he's just saying the NBA
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: could do a better job of schedule of under respecting
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: those days and his estimation. Uh, and it could be.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: As I said, it's not like it's just one game.
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: It's five games almost each day on those days. So
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: we'll be back with more to Sports Jock Show right
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: after this. Jesus So.
- 1:47:10Speaker 7: Rap down, Mop wrap, damn mop And I got something.
- 1:47:15Speaker 11: Jn't go away or of the Sports Jock Show with
- 1:47:18Speaker 11: Wayne Dantidius coming up next.
- 1:47:22Speaker 15: And now let's talk about something exciting life insurance. Three
- 1:47:25Speaker 15: quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:47:28Speaker 15: of financial security.
- 1:47:30Speaker 23: Yet only forty nine percent actually have life insurance.
- 1:47:33Speaker 34: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:47:35Speaker 34: just getting started with our family and thought we lived
- 1:47:37Speaker 34: forever life insurance.
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: What's the last thing on my mind?
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: What about you?
- 1:47:40Speaker 22: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:47:42Speaker 34: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:47:44Speaker 34: bills piling up, I was worried how my family will
- 1:47:46Speaker 34: survived without me. That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 1:47:48Speaker 34: the insurance informant.
- 1:47:50Speaker 15: Information gives you power, and life insurance gives your family
- 1:47:53Speaker 15: security no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:47:55Speaker 35: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I'll
- 1:47:58Speaker 35: leave my family with bills or benefits. The answer is easy, whether.

- 1:49:33Speaker 1: it's time for a school board.
- 1:49:35Speaker 31: Can we put a spin on life and sports and
- 1:49:38Speaker 31: how they intermingle on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:49:56Speaker 37: Hey, Exaye to say, I'm the biggest, the largest, been
- 1:50:01Speaker 37: stepping up because it's my mama stated in them the parties, regardless.
- 1:50:04Speaker 37: My daddy told me keep the heat even when I'm
- 1:50:06Speaker 37: in Florence. I'm heartless because I hain't number just because I'm.
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: The biggest, the largest, the biggest. The lord heard, what
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: makes this sport shock shop. I'm the sports shock Quayne King,
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: d Man, Gray, Big Kenny, Oh, Nico, how do you
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: say Nico's last name again?
- 1:50:24Speaker 10: I'm a Layo, Yeah, I'm yeah, I'm gonna lay Hey,
- 1:50:31Speaker 10: I'm gonna leave in a minute.
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: I'm an Layava Ye, I'm a Layava. I'm a a Nico.
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: Let's stick with that. Has finally found a home out
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: in l A. What you see l A big story
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: of last week was more about his transferring his transfer
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: portal from Tennessee. Nico and his team of his father
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: and agent's family. Everyone concerned wanted more from Tennessee than
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: Tennessee was willing to give, and taking a hardstand that
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: some say could be remembered as the shot heard around
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: the transfer portal. When dope by Tennessee basically saying no,
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: you can go. Was Nico asking for basically more money
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: from what he was receiving. And there was cole Win
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: for a while out there for Nico. I'm not sure
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: what his deal is with UCLA. He's out there with
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: Deshaun Foster, who's now the coach. I think this will
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: be Deshaun Foster's maybe third year as the Bruins coach.
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: But we will see how this works out for Nico.
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: It is a big discussion that a lot of people
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: ask me through the week what did I think about it?
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: And I thought that so many parents out there, so
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: many players, don't let the portal put you in a
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: dream state where you lose what could be coming in
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: the future right over something so instant. And I know,
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: and we talk here on the show, and it's such
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: a money grab, and you think, but don't take yourself
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: out of situations that are the right situation looking for more,
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: when being in the right situation will create more.
- 1:52:58Speaker 9: And that's the thing because if you if you're holding
- 1:53:02Speaker 9: out a practice in college, I really ain't trying to
- 1:53:05Speaker 9: draft you and become a professional professional where you know
- 1:53:10Speaker 9: contractually you have uh recourse in some of these actions
- 1:53:17Speaker 9: and it could drag on and really make things uncomfortable
- 1:53:20Speaker 9: for the organization. So, uh, proving problematic now seems like
- 1:53:25Speaker 9: it's a gamble.
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: And we've and we've had command. You Greg, the young
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: man what was his name from Clemson? Was it g
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: J D or he was at Clemson you transferred like
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: to Oregon State? He was also Hawaiian. I think okay,
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: oh DJ, yeah, J yeah. And to me from when
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: he was at Clemson, it looked like he was on
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: path to be a first round pick. And now from
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: Clemson to maybe Oregon State or Florida State, Stah. You
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: read some things and people don't even see him as draftable.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: There's talking about picking him up in free agency. And
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: I remember when he got that nice little deal with
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: Clemson and I was thinking, man, that is a lot
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: to put on that young man. And earlier on Big
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: Kenny and I was talking about being comfortable sometimes it
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: is the uncomfortable that propels you to higher levels. Yes,
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: and you get there. And it's just a cautionary tale
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: for DJ, Like you start moving around thinking but you're
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: not growing as a player. Your bank account is growing,
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: but you're not growing as a player. You actually are
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: either getting worse because you're not in the same system.
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: There's keys to getting better, and a lot of it
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: is being in a stable environment. Yes, you know, it's
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: one thing I always help people. Some of your best
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: work is when everything was consistent, when it was the
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: same coach, the same organization, the same system, and you
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: can track that growth as well in a system that
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: has a standard.
- 1:55:30Speaker 9: This year you ran for fourteen hundred yards and then
- 1:55:34Speaker 9: two seasons after that you increased that each season, so
- 1:55:39Speaker 9: you know, and against the same level of competition, if
- 1:55:42Speaker 9: not better. And it's easy to quantify for me those advances.
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: But now, so what Niko to me? The Tennessee under
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: Josh Heifelder system was more pro level, where coaches could
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: see how you more like as a pro. Whereas I
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: tell I use Bo Nicks as a case. When he
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: left Auburn, he was in that kind of Tim Tebow
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: phase where people saw a good athlete, but in the
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: Auburn system or the Auburn years, he didn't show the
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: ability to throw the ball right. So that was he
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: needed to go somewhere, whether it was a year or
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: two and show the next level that I can throw. Now.
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: Dico was in a system that is quarter what they
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: call quarterback friendly, where you can stay right here and
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: people can see and you can learn what it would
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: be to be a pro. Now you got to go
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: to UCLA, hope that you catch on to whatever, or
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: they can make the adjustment to your style by in
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: four months. Do you think that.
- 1:56:54Speaker 9: UCLA because we knew somebody would get him. Do you
- 1:56:58Speaker 9: think that's reward. Some of the worst parts of the
- 1:57:02Speaker 9: NIL is me saying I want more money or I
- 1:57:06Speaker 9: want practice.
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: And them going, oh, come on out here, man, we'll
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: we'll deal with that. Well, you always have the desperate
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: and that's I'm saying. I don't know that he got
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: any more money, right, I don't see. I don't see
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: any terms of what happened as far as the monetary
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: part went.
- 1:57:21Speaker 9: Right, it might have been like, look now you see
- 1:57:24Speaker 9: that won't work, Come play for us and take this money.
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: Yeah, he might have had to take take less based
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: on what was available because sometimes and a lot of
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: these moves need to be made sooner. When people have
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: that extra money, that leverage, you wait to at the spring.
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: Now nobody has you only have you have limited places
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: to go, and then you have to take whatever. So
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: I don't see anything about financial part, but I hope
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: it works out for Nico and hopefully whatever he was
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: gonna make it Tennessee, he's still gonna make that that
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: you shall late and we are in the ocean. The
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: truth is he will throw yours in the ocean.
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports jug
