- 0:00The uniform comes off, but the voice doesn't.
- 0:05We are connected. Veterans.
- 0:07Find Connect support. Hey I'm ace, welcome to vet
- 0:15voice AI around here. We believe veterans shouldn't
- 0:19have to figure everything out alone.
- 0:21Sometimes the right conversation or connection can change
- 0:24everything. This show is about real
- 0:26veterans, veteran owned businesses.
- 0:29And organizations doing good work in our community.
- 0:32And your host, a Marine veteran, lifelong entrepreneur and the
- 0:36guy behind the Veteran Directory Network and Vet Voice AI.
- 0:40Here's BJ Bronstad. I welcome and of course it's not
- 0:51a show unless there's a coach in the house.
- 0:54Coach, welcome to the floor. Thanks BJ.
- 0:57Here we are. Let's do it again.
- 0:59Let's do it again, all right, He says.
- 1:02So this is a show about real conversations, real veterans,
- 1:07real inspirational stories. So what we're going to do is
- 1:12we're going to start First off with the one and only coach.
- 1:17And coach, do you have anything that might inspire us before we
- 1:19kick off tonight's show? Well, in December or I'm sorry,
- 1:25in September of 2001, we all know what happened.
- 1:29In September of 2002, I was asked to present a poem and I
- 1:35wrote this. It says the king was over taxing
- 1:38his subjects far away. Things were really getting ugly
- 1:42until that fateful day when the colonists dressed as Indians
- 1:45descended upon the ships and toss the tea into the sea as a
- 1:49cry rose from their lips. You can no longer overtax us.
- 1:53We have no more to give. So take your laws and leave our
- 1:56land. We choose to govern where we
- 1:58live. Things have gotten bad before,
- 2:01but this time was a first that saw America at its best when
- 2:05things were at the worst and it started their tradition, a way
- 2:09of life so to say, that has affected all Americans from then
- 2:12until today. Every time we get complacent and
- 2:15start bickering among ourselves, someone comes and tries to break
- 2:19us, to cast our paradise into hell.
- 2:22But every time they do it, they find out like the rest.
- 2:25It's when things are at their worst that America is at its
- 2:29best. Now this latest interruption
- 2:31that is known as 911 as they toppled the twin towers and sent
- 2:35thousands into heaven is just one more reminder to those
- 2:39beyond our shore that we can be your greatest friend or you can
- 2:43be no more. So take this as a warning.
- 2:46Those who would put us to the test.
- 2:48If you want to try to break us, you will find America and
- 2:52Americans their best. So let's be at our best tonight.
- 2:58All right, all right, well, so if you happen to catch the intro
- 3:04to this, so tonight is about veterans and more importantly,
- 3:08it's about a couple organizations that have been
- 3:10doing amazing work because that's what we're here to do is.
- 3:13So if you got the first show, we highlighted not only the till
- 3:17the hell a project that who's remember everyone deployed shirt
- 3:21I wear on Friday nights, but we also highlighted the hero
- 3:26company. We highlighted together we
- 3:28served. And tonight we're going to
- 3:30continue highlighting amazing organizations.
- 3:34And we're also going to take later in the second-half of the
- 3:37show, we're going to take a a deeper dive with coach into amp
- 3:41or combat brain training, because that's what we would
- 3:45love to do. So tonight, let's go jump right
- 3:50into Victor and Valor and what they do and why they're doing it
- 3:56and what makes them so unique because again, we want to share
- 4:00real stories, real entrepreneurs making a difference in the
- 4:04veteran eco space. So with that, let's jump over
- 4:09and coach, you ready? I'm ready.
- 4:14All right, we're going to bring that up.
- 4:17Let's switch our look here and get us over and out of the way.
- 4:24So and we're going to switch our banner all at the same time
- 4:29because that's just what we do. We do lots right O there they
- 4:34go. So this is Victor and valor.
- 4:38Now they the story behind them was actually introduced to me
- 4:43when I was already meeting with a different entrepreneur, an
- 4:47incredible woman who's connected to all of these amazing
- 4:50nonprofits, so much so she even served on different boards of
- 4:55nonprofits. Well, my friend introduced me to
- 4:58this amazing organization and in doing so, they had some
- 5:03incredible speakers that I have had a chance to speak with, many
- 5:09of whom I've invited to come back on this show.
- 5:12So the first of that is let's go ahead and bring up Dave and this
- 5:19is Dave. So we're going to have Dave.
- 5:20I spoke to him earlier today. He is with Trifecta Credit
- 5:24Solutions and he was a guest on the Victor and Valor mind or
- 5:29membership that they do where they do a live stream and they
- 5:32get entrepreneurs teaching entrepreneurs.
- 5:35So we're going to have Dave in one of our future episodes.
- 5:38So he has agreed to come on and talk about the incredible things
- 5:42that they do because they know only with Trifecta credit
- 5:45solutions. And what Dave is doing is they
- 5:48don't just help you fix your credit.
- 5:50As an entrepreneur, a lot of it falls on you and your family and
- 5:54your resources. They also coach you and how to
- 5:58get set up for funding, whether that's government funding,
- 6:01whether it's a micro loan A7, you know, what is it that the
- 6:05Micro 7 AI think it is through the SBA.
- 6:08So they help you to get all those things in order.
- 6:12And one of the other ones that we spoke to just the other day
- 6:18is Keyshawn. Now Keyshawn is a storyteller.
- 6:22Where'd he go? There he is.
- 6:25So Keyshawn is a storyteller and he was again having an amazing
- 6:32building with grit show and he shared exactly what he's done
- 6:38now. This guy is now a phenomenal,
- 6:40phenomenal story in what he's doing in terms of filming, in
- 6:45terms of documentary, in terms of the entertainment, in terms
- 6:48of, you know, this is a guy who just went after it.
- 6:50He didn't necessarily have all of the training, all of the
- 6:55tools, but yet he found a way to get and go after it.
- 7:00And that is we'll let him tell his story in greater detail when
- 7:04we bring him in. But Victor and Valor, So what
- 7:09makes them unique? Well, I am going to get my mouse
- 7:14up so I can actually share so real quick.
- 7:18When Ali and her team created Victor and Valor, she was
- 7:22looking for an organization that operated on the fundamental
- 7:27philosophy that branding, marketing, leadership, and
- 7:31communication are all about the interconnected expressions of
- 7:35human relationship. See, Ally Craig, the founder,
- 7:39has a whole theory that she calls human choice theory.
- 7:44And so her idea was how can we kind of as a nonprofit bridge
- 7:49the systematic resource gap that very a lot of military families
- 7:53and entrepreneurs face when they're trying to navigate the
- 7:58small business marketing and especially when you consider
- 8:02that many of the military gets relocated all the time.
- 8:07So she set out to support entirely by private donations.
- 8:13Victor and Valor provides elite agency caliber services
- 8:17completely free of charge and they help connect entrepreneurs.
- 8:22Remember, that's what we're all about is connecting the
- 8:24entrepreneurs. Not only do they help connect
- 8:26the entrepreneurs, but they help them to grow until they, as an
- 8:31entrepreneurial business, a veteran preneur, are now at
- 8:35$1,000,000 in annual revenue. They help with the marketing,
- 8:39they help with all the branding, the story, the creative, all of
- 8:43the things that you as an entrepreneur would go and have
- 8:46to spend money to get up and get launched.
- 8:49How amazing is that? Well, not only do they do that,
- 8:53but they also do lectures. As I mentioned, we have these
- 8:56masterminds that that was the word I was looking for earlier
- 8:59with the two gentlemen I spoke with, Keyshawn and Dave, and
- 9:03they are incredible and they're going to bring them in and
- 9:06they're always looking for stories worth sharing because
- 9:09they know Victor and Valor Alley and all the incredible people
- 9:13that work with them know that behind every organization that
- 9:18they serve, there is a founder who chose to continue serving
- 9:23after the military Coach, what do you think?
- 9:27Well, you know, we've had this discussion several times that
- 9:31the reason we went in the military in the 1st place is we
- 9:35at some point have learned how to serve others.
- 9:37As we got that down to a skill, it almost became a habit or
- 9:42maybe even an addiction to serve people.
- 9:46So when you be a military guy and he's looking for something
- 9:51to do, just give him an opportunity to serve and you'll
- 9:54be amazed at what could happen. But Victor and Valor, they're
- 9:58doing a great job of, you know, just pairing people up and, and
- 10:02making life better. Absolutely, absolutely.
- 10:06So one of the things that Coach brings to the table is he has at
- 10:13least a year of entrepreneurial journeys.
- 10:17And as he smiles, do you have an entrepreneurial story on why
- 10:25when we're highlighting these success stories, why it's
- 10:28impactful and important for veterans, for entrepreneurs?
- 10:32Because you've been on a lot of sides, you've been employed and
- 10:36you've been an entrepreneur and you've seen it from also the
- 10:40military side of it. So what in your vast wisdom can
- 10:44you bring to the? Well, as I've always said, I
- 10:48used to. Couldn't even spell entrepreneur
- 10:50now or one but you know, being an entrepreneur is is it's
- 10:58basically you don't fit in a little little cubicle, a little
- 11:01square box. And it it seems kind of odd to
- 11:06people who have never served in the military that military could
- 11:10people could be such successful entrepreneurs.
- 11:14But the truth is, once you're done with basic training, your
- 11:18advanced individual training, whatever what each branch of the
- 11:22service calls it, you have a very entrepreneurial spirit
- 11:26because you got to figure out how to do things without a lot
- 11:29of guidance right when you're out in the middle of the
- 11:32battlefield, you can't say, hey, Sarge, should I stand up or put
- 11:37my head down? And as an entrepreneur, when you
- 11:41get out there and what are the things we found out that I found
- 11:46out a long time ago, loyalty is we're struggling with loyalty in
- 11:51this society today. You know, the people are they're
- 11:55getting a job and a year later they're already got the resume
- 11:58out looking for their next job there.
- 12:02You know, the the story of the, you know, 30 years with one
- 12:05company, the gold watch and the retirement just doesn't exist
- 12:09anymore. But if you want somebody who's
- 12:11loyal, you want somebody who is going to, you know, work through
- 12:15the program, work through the problems, I'll find a veteran.
- 12:19And if you can find a veteran who's in business for himself, a
- 12:21veteran who's maybe a plumber, electrician, a veteran who's a
- 12:26inspirational speaker, a veteran who's, you know, creating an
- 12:30opportunity for other veterans through, you know, the veterans
- 12:33directory or Vet voice AI, you're going to have a friend
- 12:37for life, whether you want it or not.
- 12:39And, you know, we're connected. You know, you, you can talk
- 12:42about that all the time. We are veterans connected.
- 12:46I was at breakfast with a friend of mine this morning.
- 12:49He didn't serve, but he should have at some point.
- 12:52He's got the right heart for it. And there's an Army guy and a
- 12:55Navy guy having breakfast. And I, you know, I stopped by
- 12:58him on the way out. And of course now we double
- 13:00teamed the Navy guy because we had two Army guys.
- 13:04But I said, you know, we all did the same thing.
- 13:06And the Navy guy says, no, we didn't.
- 13:08I said yes, we did. We all served our country.
- 13:11We all stood up for the, the people who either didn't have
- 13:16the, the courage to stand up or didn't have the opportunity.
- 13:20But we, we served. Didn't matter if you rode on a
- 13:23boat, if you walked on the ground, if you flew in a
- 13:25helicopter, didn't matter where, where or how you served, you
- 13:28served. And you know, I get people all
- 13:32the time who, you know, they want to complain about the, the
- 13:35politics, they want to complain about this or complain about
- 13:37that and they go, well, what do you think about it?
- 13:40They said, well, I swore an office to uphold and defend the
- 13:44Constitution of the United States of America and to obey
- 13:47the orders of the officers appointed over me, specifically
- 13:52all the way up to the President of the United States.
- 13:55I swear an office to uphold and stand for that office.
- 13:58Now, I don't care who's in it. I don't care if I like him.
- 14:00I don't care if I voted for him. He is my president and I'm sworn
- 14:04to take care of it. And you know, we all have that
- 14:08in common. And entrepreneurs, when they're
- 14:10out here, when you buy, hire a veteran owned businessman to
- 14:16come in and you know, do whatever it is.
- 14:20If it's drywalling, if it's doesn't matter, you're going to
- 14:25have a darn good person working for you and he'll, he'll be
- 14:28worth it. He's not, you know, he's not
- 14:30going to break you over to Kohl's either.
- 14:31He's going to be fair. It's price is going to be fair
- 14:34is service is going to be good, good to great and at the end of
- 14:40the day you're going to be glad you did.
- 14:44I absolutely agree. And as you said, you know the,
- 14:48the motto that I'll say multiple times, you'll see it on the
- 14:51screen and you'll see it on, on everything is the connected
- 14:56Veterans mission, if you will. And that is we are you and I and
- 15:01anybody watching anybody who's ever served, we are connected
- 15:04veterans. We measure our success as true
- 15:08veteran entrepreneurs as true. Whether you're a founder of a
- 15:11nonprofit or a for profit, you're measuring success by the
- 15:15lives that you touch and improve and the trust you earn and the
- 15:19connections you create. And, you know, all I say it and
- 15:23I'll say it at the end of this show is, you know, we're always
- 15:26just one connection away. And that's why we're trying to
- 15:29highlight these amazing organizations.
- 15:31Because who knows if one of the things that we highlight, one of
- 15:36the things that we bring to to bear, you know, whether it's
- 15:40till the hollow project and the plaques that they give as a
- 15:43memorial, a living legacy to a fallen soldier.
- 15:47You know, to the family member of that fallen soldier.
- 15:51Whether it's, you know, something like Victor and Valor
- 15:53where you have an entrepreneur who has a great idea but doesn't
- 15:57really know how to market themselves right, doesn't know
- 16:00how to get out there. That's what we want to help.
- 16:03That's what the show is about. And while it has a title of AI
- 16:06in the title, it's not about the tech, it's about what the tech
- 16:11can do to empower you. Because at the end of the day,
- 16:16we're here to make a difference in each other's lives.
- 16:19And as veterans, we know that because we've been in foxholes
- 16:24with each other. And you know the the saying is
- 16:28we've got your six. And that really is true because
- 16:31that's exactly what it's about. It's about covering and taking
- 16:35care of each other as as a team. Well, let's explain what that
- 16:40that we got your 6 means everything directionally.
- 16:44We do by the clock, right? If we're saying 12:00, that
- 16:47means we're walking straight ahead, 12:00 straight ahead.
- 16:50That means 6 is straight behind you.
- 16:53So we got your six. It's not talking about a six
- 16:55back, right? It's not talking about a six
- 16:57gun. It's talking about we got your
- 16:59back, right? So we got your six.
- 17:02It's all about the direction you're moving.
- 17:05And that is, you know, it's powerful piece to understand
- 17:08that when veterans come together, watch out.
- 17:11You know what? You know, BJ's a Marine, I'm a
- 17:14Army. Not let him know that they can't
- 17:16call Marines jarheads anymore because jars contain things.
- 17:19And we'll banter back and forth. You'll say Army ain't ready to
- 17:22be a Marine yet, right? We'll go back and forth and we
- 17:25can do that. But any of you pick on either of
- 17:28us, you're going to have to deal with both of us.
- 17:31So you're going to have to deal with all of this because, you
- 17:33know, it's less than 1% of the population have ever put on the
- 17:37uniform and, and stood watch over this country.
- 17:41And the people who, you know, they've got rough things to say
- 17:48about them. You don't know what you're
- 17:49talking about. Occasionally there'll be a bad
- 17:52apple shows up, but it's a lot less here than it is in the rest
- 17:55of the world. Exactly.
- 17:59And. You know, to that point, I
- 18:03continue to wear my dog tags and I have for the last 30 years.
- 18:06That's how long I've been out. And the reason it is black is
- 18:11those are layers of electrical tape wrapped around it in honor
- 18:15of every single one of the brothers and sisters that I
- 18:18served with and or am aware of that.
- 18:20Maybe I didn't serve with them. Maybe they came, you know, after
- 18:24me. But I was a part of an
- 18:26organization, a veterans organization and I got to meet
- 18:29them and or maybe they're friends of a veteran or family
- 18:32members. And so that's this is my
- 18:35personal reminder to myself that just like it's Friday and
- 18:39everybody, we remember everybody deployed.
- 18:41It's my personal reminder to myself to remember everybody.
- 18:45Whoever stepped up and said, I'm willing to serve something
- 18:50greater than myself. All right, so as this is AAI,
- 18:57let's bring it to AI for a second.
- 19:00So you mentioned we've got R6, right?
- 19:05The, The, the saying is we've got your six.
- 19:08So what does that mean? Is it going to change?
- 19:13We'll sign out there. They are all right.
- 19:16So that's the honor team. One of the things that this in
- 19:19the future we will be actually having, these guys are real.
- 19:22They are AI agents. That is if you will, what we do
- 19:26with the Pep Boys is AI and so forth, but couldn't resist.
- 19:31So one of the things that is interesting is what AI says.
- 19:39What does AI say? Well, let's go.
- 19:47All right, So we're having fun with the the slides.
- 19:52Here I am not AI. You are not AI coach.
- 19:57I'm, I'm HI, I'm human intelligence sitting here, so
- 20:01let's all right. So one of the things, if you've
- 20:07never, I wanted to do something a little different.
- 20:11I'm trying to change my banner. So give me one second there.
- 20:13We do have a comment. All right, and we got to go on.
- 20:20I'm going to show that one. Bam, look at that.
- 20:26There it is, the H train one and only.
- 20:30So let's go to Dun Dun Dun. Just look at that VR radio dot
- 20:39US. All right, so real quick, coach,
- 20:43I'm playing with the the graphics here while I'm having
- 20:46fun. Let's go ahead and jump into the
- 20:48next thing. Coach, I got to ask you, you
- 20:52know, you mentioned Jarhead, so let's get back to our side by
- 20:56side. Where is that?
- 21:00There we go. Change.
- 21:04Did it work? It did work.
- 21:05All right, So you mentioned that jarheads, I had to have the lid
- 21:14of a jar just for that. All right, but in all
- 21:19seriousness, coach, have you ever had the opportunity to read
- 21:26this? Yeah.
- 21:29I haven't read that particular one, but I have read the
- 21:33synopsis of it and as a company commander.
- 21:38My first. Sergeant and I would always
- 21:40battle about who ate last. He said, I'm the first Sergeant,
- 21:45I'm the senior enlisted. I eat last.
- 21:47And I said I'm the company commander.
- 21:49I have the final say. I'll eat last.
- 21:52And we would quite often go back to the serving line to make sure
- 21:56that our, our servers that are KP individuals would get out and
- 22:00eat their meal before either one of us would eat.
- 22:03So that is, you know, liters eat last is a is a very real thing
- 22:07in my life Well. If you've never looked it up
- 22:12now, because this is AI, you know, voice that voice AI.
- 22:20So what I'm going to do is let me get our faces over to the
- 22:22side. If you give me one second, if
- 22:26anybody asks, yes, I've got monitors all around and multiple
- 22:29mouses. So if you see me moving around
- 22:31like a crazy person now, you know, so, and one of the things
- 22:37I do is I always want to know what does AI say, right?
- 22:43And so I go out and I literally go into whether it's Google or
- 22:47whatever the case is, but I'll go out and I'll look to see what
- 22:51is it that AI is saying, whether it's about a business, whether
- 22:55it is about, you know, entrepreneurs.
- 22:59And in this case, like I asked, you know, and all I put in was
- 23:04liters eat last the book, right? And so it came up with book
- 23:09reviews and it actually summarizes this.
- 23:12If you've never used that as a research tool, you can go to
- 23:16Google just like you used to Google.
- 23:18Well, now Google has Gemini and when you go there, you can do
- 23:21that as a research tool. It is phenomenal.
- 23:24Now I will tell you AI will hallucinate in the hallucination
- 23:28comes from how they get their information.
- 23:31You'll notice in the summary over on there where it says see
- 23:34all and you see the book and so forth, those are summaries that
- 23:39AI is pulling in the information.
- 23:41So double check your sources. Always recommend that.
- 23:45And if you're using Gemini from Google, you can take the output
- 23:49from that. So you could take the document,
- 23:51you can copy paste, or you could have it give you a PDF summary
- 23:55and then take that over to ChatGPT and have it verify the
- 23:58sources and or vice versa. You can go either way, but
- 24:02that's a handy dandy way to leverage AI.
- 24:04So Speaking of this book, let's jump.
- 24:07I've got one or two things. If you've ever gone into
- 24:10YouTube, I'd love you to go to YouTube and look up Simon
- 24:14Shenek. I can't.
- 24:15How do you pronounce his last name?
- 24:16By the way? Coach Cynic Simon Cynic.
- 24:19Simon Cynic. So go to YouTube, Google on
- 24:22YouTube, look, do a search for eaters leaders eat last Simon
- 24:27Sinek and look at him. He's on stage with a woman and
- 24:31he explains what is right here on the back.
- 24:35So I'm just going to read it. He does a much better job by the
- 24:37way. I'm just going to read it again.
- 24:41He the idea came to him. I won't I don't want to take you
- 24:45know, 'cause obviously coaches army and they follow the same
- 24:47rules. But he was introduced to this
- 24:50concept of Eaters leaders eat last by a Marine Corps general.
- 24:56When he asked the general what makes the Marines cover your
- 25:00ears coach, what makes Marines so good, One of the things he
- 25:05brought out was officers eat last, the general replied.
- 25:10And you know Simon had a chance to see it first hand.
- 25:14He would see the most junior Marines eating first, while the
- 25:18most senior Marines would sit in the back of the line.
- 25:22And what was symbolic in the chow hall also goes forth in the
- 25:26battlefield. Great leaders sacrifice and will
- 25:29sacrifice for the interests of the cause.
- 25:33So if you've never checked it out, I highly recommend the
- 25:36book. I'm going to leave a one final
- 25:39quote in that let me get to my bookmark.
- 25:43And it's talking about value. Coach brought up value in
- 25:47entrepreneurs and how and that will lead us to our next segment
- 25:51before we take a quick break and come back with the coach and
- 25:56combat brain training. But one of the things that
- 26:00entrepreneurs when you're an entrepreneur, you have a
- 26:03purpose. When you're in the service, you
- 26:07have a purpose, you have a mission, right?
- 26:10Well, one of the things that he found when he was talking to all
- 26:14these different military folks in all different branches is
- 26:17Simon. This is quoting from the book
- 26:19here and he's talking about the value of purpose.
- 26:23And in it he gives a very specific quote and he goes into
- 26:28other companies and so forth, like Costco, where he talked to
- 26:31the owner James or the VP or CEO, I think at the time CEO
- 26:36James single. And he talked about the, that,
- 26:40that same mindset, much like the Marines, much like coach in the
- 26:44army of leaders eat last, right? So the quote is human beings
- 26:52have thrived for 50,000 years not because we are driven to
- 26:58serve ourselves, but because we are inspired to serve others.
- 27:06Along that that line, BJI was. I was.
- 27:10As I signed a contract for 15 speaking engagements for a
- 27:15company in the oil and gas industry in Texas, Oklahoma and
- 27:19Louisiana, there were five sites and and in June I visited each
- 27:24of the five sites. In July I went back to each of
- 27:27them and then in August I went back to each of them one more
- 27:30time. About 60,000 air miles I
- 27:32traveled during that. You know, those three months I
- 27:36did that What I sat down for the initial contract.
- 27:40She said, I'm hiring you to talk on servant leadership.
- 27:44And I said, well, I appreciate that, but I've got it.
- 27:46I've got to correct you. And she said, what do you mean?
- 27:49I said there is no such thing as servant leadership.
- 27:53There is only leadership. Leadership by definition, is a
- 27:56servant to the people. And when the leaders begin to
- 28:00understand that, you know, you, you start climbing the ranks,
- 28:03they can all you know, the higher I get, the more people
- 28:06are going to wait on the hand and foot, they're going to serve
- 28:09me. And, and those aren't leaders.
- 28:10Those are managers. Those are people who who want to
- 28:13be served. But the true leaders, they're
- 28:15the ones who make sure, in the case of the military, that your
- 28:18soldiers, your Marines, your sailors, German, they make sure
- 28:22they have everything they need to complete the mission of the
- 28:25true leaders. In the industrial world, in the
- 28:28school systems and the families, the leaders break their backside
- 28:33to make sure that their people have everything they need to be
- 28:37successful. Leaders are servants, right?
- 28:40Leaders are not somebody that want to be bowed down to.
- 28:44They're not somebody you want to be, you know.
- 28:46Oh, yes, Sir. Yes, Sir.
- 28:47Yes, Sir. They may be that in other
- 28:50militaries in other countries, but the the the true definition
- 28:54of a leader is to be a servant of the people.
- 28:57Absolutely, Absolutely. Speaking of.
- 29:02Leading one of the organizations that has been leading the
- 29:06charge. And better than my voice,
- 29:09apparently, yes, if you're watching this is live.
- 29:15So that has been leading the charge.
- 29:18And that actually introduced me, as I said earlier, to Victor and
- 29:22Balor is warrior rising warrior risings over a decade old.
- 29:28And I thought that the really better than listening to me flap
- 29:33my gums about them. They're an amazing organization.
- 29:36They work with the SBA, they work with the veteran business
- 29:38outreach centers, They work with a lot of incredible, incredible
- 29:42organizations around the veteran community.
- 29:44But one of the best ways to highlight what they do is coach
- 29:52is going to talk for 30 seconds while I click on buttons.
- 29:56Go get your bed, get that easy button, get that great big just
- 29:59to slap that nothing. Now you know, as we as we move
- 30:03through, we're going to do the best we can all the time.
- 30:05And you're going to find we're going to be very transparent on
- 30:09the show, right? If something we don't know,
- 30:11we're going to let you know we don't know it.
- 30:13And as we're working our way through, we'll figure it out.
- 30:16And as we as we get there, looks like you figured it out.
- 30:21BJ, you ready to hit that button?
- 30:24I'm just finding the share screen so I can bring it up and
- 30:32I'm gonna go entire screen. I'm gonna go that one and.
- 30:39Ready. To share and I'm going to jump
- 30:46in and hit start. As we listen to.
- 30:50It right from the founder. You do the sounds, not on.
- 31:06Let me pause. Let's go.
- 31:09Come on, dude, pause for a second.
- 31:11So yes, you know, this is live. I'm going to crank up my sound.
- 31:19All right, let. Me turn up the sound and
- 31:22attempting to click the button. And let me make.
- 31:26Sure. Over.
- 31:30Here, let me make sure over here.
- 31:33Give me one second and there we go.
- 31:43All right, so I'm going to back it up, ladies and gentlemen.
- 31:46So if you're listening on the audio side of things, you're
- 31:48going to hear, hopefully hear this.
- 31:51I'm going to share my computers all the way up and the sound on
- 31:58the video is all the way up, so let's see what we have now, see
- 32:01if it will come through. I'm not sure what's going on,
- 32:13but you may have to. PJ that it's it is putting the
- 32:47words across the stream, but I I can't hear it at all.
- 32:51OK, we did practices, folks. I'm not quite sure what's going
- 32:57on here, but. We got.
- 33:02One or two options here. You can go ahead and talk about
- 33:05it or we can bring it out on the next one.
- 33:20All right. So right there, that is Jason.
- 33:23Jason started when you're wounded or warrior rising.
- 33:28Let's try that and get that correct here.
- 33:30All right, so give me one second.
- 33:32I'm going to flip over to my banners and graphics and we're
- 33:35going to get bring in their stuff because apparently.
- 33:42Can you? Hear me and.
- 33:49Or you're. Rising and show all right, so.
- 34:02We're going. To apparently we were going to
- 34:05play the video, but for whatever reason I must have clicked the
- 34:08wrong button, so it did not like to do that.
- 34:11So I'm going to stop my share. By the way, hang on one second,
- 34:14coach, and then I'm going to read.
- 34:17I do have the transcript of it right up above, so I'm gonna
- 34:20actually read it. So and let.
- 34:27Me bring it up. Yes, folks, this is live.
- 34:36Yeah, absolutely. So, Warrior Rising, First off,
- 34:41pardon me for looking up. Actually, let me see if I can
- 34:44just bring it right down here 100% live.
- 34:49Yes, I'm gonna actually drag it right over my face, and then
- 34:53I'll look at you as I read. How about that?
- 34:55Does that sound a little better? All right, so Warrior Rising is
- 34:59a highly prominent 5O13C. So it is a nonprofit.
- 35:03It was started in 2015. And what you were seeing in the
- 35:07video and reading was it was started by a group of military
- 35:11veterans led by the executive director, the gentleman on the
- 35:15video there, Jason Van Camp. He's headquartered out of Utah.
- 35:19The organization is entirely dedicated to transforming U.S.
- 35:24military veterans service disabled veterans and their
- 35:28immediate family members, including the military spouses,
- 35:31into successful entrepreneurship affectionately termed
- 35:36veteraners. Unlike standard charity
- 35:39initiatives, the Warrior Rising operates a capability over
- 35:45charity, so their framework is focusing on giving veterans the
- 35:50tools and the structure so they can earn not just a little bit
- 35:54of a handout, but instead they can have a hand up and own their
- 36:00long term economic independence. Since its inception, the
- 36:04organization has assisted more than 30,000 military connected
- 36:10entrepreneurs, vet preneurs and help launch and fund hundreds of
- 36:15veteran owned small businesses and nonprofits, educational and
- 36:19acceleration programs that they specify.
- 36:22In one of those, I went through two of them, actually three of
- 36:25them, come to think of it. So three different programs.
- 36:28So many of the people you're going to hear about and the
- 36:31organizations that you're going to learn about through Vet voice
- 36:34AI are cohorts from the Warrior Rising and Warrior University
- 36:40and the activator that I was a part of them.
- 36:43So let me just give you a quick breakdown.
- 36:46Warrior, they, they have a couple different programs.
- 36:49I highly recommend going to Warrior rising.org and looking
- 36:53at all of them. First is Launch Point.
- 36:55It's an introductory concept stage program tailored for
- 36:59service disabled veterans to validate business ideas and map
- 37:04out the initial steps. Activator.
- 37:07It's an intensive 8 week pre accelerator cohort opened up in
- 37:13conjunction and in partnership with the Boeing Center at
- 37:16Virginia Tech. And I went through that one.
- 37:18It is, it is a phenomenal course and it is grueling and they make
- 37:22you jump and, and do some stuff that you wouldn't normally have
- 37:26thought to do. You know, I've been around for a
- 37:29long time and I got to tell you I, I learned so much in the
- 37:33intensive in the activator as well as in Warrior University
- 37:36that I feel like I got an MBA in the short window of time.
- 37:40I mean, it's just absolutely incredible, which is why I'm a
- 37:43raving fan of them. So with that, again, the
- 37:48activator, it's an intensive 8 week pre accelerator cohort
- 37:52operated in partnership with Virginia Tech and Boeing Center.
- 37:55It is tailored specifically for tech.
- 37:58That's why I was in there. And SAS veteran founders looking
- 38:01to connect a MVP or minimal viable product.
- 38:05We're your Academy. That is the their main thing
- 38:08that is a self-paced. So if you, you know, you're
- 38:12like, I don't have time to do stuff, I highly recommend
- 38:15jumping in and doing the Warrior Academy as a great place to
- 38:18start because it's self-paced, it's comprehensive and it's a
- 38:22curriculum that guides you through advanced marketing
- 38:26analysis, economic modelling, operational legalities and full
- 38:31business plan development. Now, if you've never thought of
- 38:33those things and yet you're like, Hey, I got a website, I'm
- 38:36going to go do this. This is my business.
- 38:38I'm cutting loans, I'm doing hair, I'm doing nails, I'm doing
- 38:41whatever you're doing. You want to find out about
- 38:44operational legalities and the full business plan because makes
- 38:47a heck of a difference when you go out to actually get funding
- 38:51and other things. So last but not least is where
- 38:54your university, where your university is like their full on
- 38:57training. That is the advanced stage of
- 38:59their training and it passes Warriors through the Warrior
- 39:03University bridges the gap between the traditional or
- 39:07foundational business development and real world
- 39:11capital acquisition. In other words, this is the
- 39:14gateway that gets you to funding membership signature events.
- 39:19And again, Warrior Rising doesn't just blindly hand out
- 39:23grants, right? If you look on their site,
- 39:24they're very or watch them on YouTube, Jason and the rest of
- 39:28them, Reggie and everybody else is very honest about that.
- 39:31Instead, it distributes non dilutive capital.
- 39:35It means they're not taking ownership in your company.
- 39:37That's what a fancy word for that is and foundational
- 39:41research through interactive and merit based milestones.
- 39:44They have things called business showers.
- 39:47That's where they're it's kind of like a baby shower, but for
- 39:49startups. These are their live pitch
- 39:52events. What is a live pitch event?
- 39:55Think Shark Tank, right? And they help you if you've
- 39:58never pitched, they're going to help you.
- 40:00They're going to coach you. They were going to give you an
- 40:02opportunity to really present like the.
- 40:07Amazing veteran entrepreneur you are to present to companies and
- 40:11networks of top tier investors in corporate execs so that these
- 40:15founders who get the opportunity to pitch, then get to pitch and
- 40:19compete for up to $20,000 in grant funding.
- 40:23How often is that? I mean free $20,000.
- 40:27Great when you're launching a business cuz you know there's an
- 40:30expense or two that comes up. They also give one-on-one,
- 40:34one-on-one mentorship and they have amazing events, right?
- 40:40I mean, they're right now they've got 1 going on for
- 40:42tailgating for this Army Navy game.
- 40:44You've probably heard of of Army, right Coach?
- 40:48The winners? This year.
- 40:52Right, so those are just some of the amazing highlights and maybe
- 40:58eventually we'll get that video to to go.
- 41:00We'll get that figured out. But that's why this is live,
- 41:04Coach. You're a.
- 41:06Warrior and we know you're cheering for Army, but before we
- 41:10take a break in, before we come back, we want them to come back.
- 41:14We want them to learn about what you're going to be talking about
- 41:19after the break before. When When was the last time you
- 41:27upgraded your cell phone and how much did that cost you?
- 41:29When was the last time you upgraded your computer?
- 41:32How much did that cost you, your car, your house, your spouse?
- 41:37How much did that cost you? When was the last time you
- 41:40upgraded you? And that's what we do at combat
- 41:44Brain training. We give your brain an upgrade
- 41:47that makes everything else work a little bit better.
- 41:49So we're going to talk about combat brain training, where it
- 41:52came from, what the foundation is and how it can maybe support
- 41:55you and your life going forward. So come on back after the break.
- 42:00Let's let's talk about combat brain training or it's other, it
- 42:04is accelerated mental performance.
- 42:08All right, all right. Now Coach is going to talk for
- 42:11one more moment while I click on some buttons to make us go into
- 42:14break. How about that?
- 42:16That works. What lays at the?
- 42:17Bottom of the ocean and shakes. Well, that's a nervous wreck,
- 42:21you know, Have you ever been a nervous wreck?
- 42:23Have you ever been a little bit anxious about something going on
- 42:26in your life? Well, when your brains work a
- 42:28little bit better, that anxiety that, that depression, whatever
- 42:32that issue is, that's, that's cloud your judgment, that'll
- 42:35start filtering away. We're not a, a medically
- 42:39prescribed program. We don't profess to fix every
- 42:43problem. But if your brain works a little
- 42:45bit better than your life is going to get a little bit
- 42:48better. And we'll talk about exactly how
- 42:50that works and now the basis behind it in a few minutes.
- 42:55All right, all. Right, so we're going to go
- 42:57ahead and jump into our Dun, Dun, Dun.
- 43:01And this is a military broadcast worth fighting for.
- 43:08Video from Scott Frazier. Here we go.
- 48:10All right, Yeah. And we're.
- 48:12Back. We are back.
- 48:14Coach so guess. What I just got?
- 48:18Notified of? What did you just get notified
- 48:22of? Well.
- 48:24I've got a friend. Who I talked to through vet
- 48:28social and his name is Brian and he started his.
- 48:33Amazing. Organization Project Die Hard
- 48:39and it's all about Mission 22 and I had invited him last week
- 48:44to come on the show and he missed it, but he's available
- 48:48right now. Would you have 15 or so minutes
- 48:53of. I know it's uninterrupted, but
- 48:55it is live. And would you like to hear
- 48:59Brian's story and how he started Project Die Hard and more
- 49:02importantly, how it's helping veterans in his local area and
- 49:06his vision for the future? Well, that's the.
- 49:11You know, we we have to say it's called rigidly flexible.
- 49:15Have a plan but be flexible. So let's be flexible, bring him
- 49:18in. Let's you know as soon as we can
- 49:21get him in the green room here. All right, if you.
- 49:24Watch the green room. I'm going to upload the graphic
- 49:27you just sent me and. We will get so.
- 49:33For those of you who don't know, it is.
- 49:37Bring it in. Bring it in here I'm going to
- 49:39add the file. I'm also going to add the banner
- 49:41so that we'll be able to see there it is so that you can be
- 49:48able to see our special guest and he should be popping in in a
- 49:55second. And as he does that, we'll go
- 49:58ahead and we'll be introducing. He's got a really I I had a
- 50:02great time to basically get a great connection with him.
- 50:08Now we're both a part of that social and that social, if
- 50:11you've never looked at it, they're one of our future
- 50:13versions. And we're going to have one of
- 50:15their founders on the show as well.
- 50:17And it's actually how I found military broadcast radio is
- 50:21through that social. And ironically, I saw these guys
- 50:26MBR in that one of their I think it was a comment that maybe Joel
- 50:32had made to Ryan, who's the founder for vet social.
- 50:35And I said, God, you know what? I want to look at this military
- 50:38broadcast radio and find out a little bit more about Joel and
- 50:41just fascinated. And so I have sent out I'll did
- 50:47it. Upload.
- 50:47It did upload. OK, so we've got that.
- 50:49Let me add the banner real quick so we can actually see his
- 50:52website, give him some props and so.
- 50:55This is all live. Folks, we are doing it on the
- 50:57fly. And coach if.
- 51:04You could keep an eye on the green room for me.
- 51:06He should be popping in as. Which eye would you like?
- 51:13My left. Eye or my right eye?
- 51:15I can I can work with either one of them.
- 51:19We so folks, military broadcast radio.
- 51:26It's been around since I believe 2005.
- 51:29Is that right, DJ? It's.
- 51:32Yeah, it's been. Around for, I think Jules said
- 51:34that the other day, Yeah, yeah, 21.
- 51:37Years. So this isn't something that's
- 51:39that's brand new We appreciate everybody who's been you know
- 51:43stepping in it's it it's new for me.
- 51:46But they're they're housed out of a little, little office in
- 51:52Colorado and that Colorado's near and dear to my heart.
- 51:56It's where I was stationed. It's where I met my wife on
- 51:59active duty. She was a medic.
- 52:01I was a military policeman And I met her on May 6th, 1974.
- 52:07And I asked her to marry me six weeks later and we just
- 52:10celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary.
- 52:12So Colorado's always been near and dear.
- 52:15My sister still lives up in Golden, Co.
- 52:18So I found out, Joel, and the military broadcast radio is
- 52:22centered out of Colorado. Here we go.
- 52:25Sounds like I got some applause in the background or you're just
- 52:28cheering for me, one of the other.
- 52:30But it's it it it's been a journey.
- 52:34And to wind up back here connected this way, if you
- 52:38notice a banner scrolling across the bottom, we are veterans
- 52:43connected. And we're all just one
- 52:45connection away from each other. If you've got something in your
- 52:49life. OK, Sergeant Jerry Cods, Are you
- 52:52ready to bring him in? Whether you're ready or not, you
- 52:58said. Hey, SAP, how are you?
- 53:00Hey I. Would be better, brothers.
- 53:02I would be better. But yesterday I gave a tour to
- 53:10our first facility, to a ministry that came from Texas
- 53:16and an Reese Real. Excuse me, resource partner that
- 53:22came from Wisconsin and they have both agreed to come and
- 53:27help veterans. Very nice.
- 53:32You know what part? Of Wisconsin, they're from.
- 53:35The Dells. OK.
- 53:37I was just through there a couple of days ago.
- 53:39I, I was a head soccer coach at a high school of Wisconsin.
- 53:43My son lives in Texas. So we got the, we got the
- 53:45connections. Oh, wow.
- 53:46There's my, there's the. The post we did.
- 53:51Wow, you're good. So.
- 53:57But yeah. Guys look for.
- 53:58Veterans, guys, all I'm asking veterans to do is find our
- 54:03mission on social media. Like it, follow it, share it,
- 54:10tell people we're real. We're doing this the right way.
- 54:17So, Brian? Yes.
- 54:21Why don't? You fill us in.
- 54:23For we have folks that are all over the world that are viewing
- 54:26on this right now. So why don't you fill us in on a
- 54:28little bit of your back story and the reason behind starting
- 54:33project Die Hard and where your what your vision is for the
- 54:37future of it as well. OK, my story.
- 54:41I was born into a Navy family. I'm sorry.
- 54:46I know. But.
- 54:48I didn't have a. Choice.
- 54:53I grew up around the world, right?
- 54:56Every Navy base you can think of, that's where I lived my.
- 55:01Father's last duty. Station was the Ghost fleet in
- 55:06Bremerton, WA. He was a command Master Chief.
- 55:12You know those guys that walk on the water?
- 55:17And. I grew up.
- 55:18Playing on the Missouri before it got reactivated the first
- 55:22time. You know, Mom said.
- 55:26Take these boys to work and my dad would just put us in a
- 55:29little lawn to take us out to a ship, throw us on with a lunch
- 55:32bag and say I'll be back at 4:00.
- 55:36So. During high school, I was part
- 55:41of a Tiger cruise and I. Realized.
- 55:45I'm not joining the Navy. I don't swim that well, so I
- 55:53joined. The army that.
- 55:54Was 1985 back then? We were 91 alphas combat medics.
- 56:04Went up to desert. Storm.
- 56:07During that time, my first wife and my daughter left, so I came
- 56:12back, took a break in service. And my current wife.
- 56:18Said when you are cut you bleed green.
- 56:22So are we enlisted? Finished out in 20. 17.
- 56:33Deployments. Here and there, you know, You
- 56:36know how we were all. And then?
- 56:43In 2017, the wife of one of my best combat brothers, Sergeant
- 56:48First Class Tim Pinsky, calls. Me in a panic.
- 56:52Going doc, what do I do? What do I do?
- 56:56I go take a break. What's going on?
- 56:59She goes. Eric is hanging in the garage.
- 57:04That's when I knew something better.
- 57:06Had to be done. Now.
- 57:12During all that time, you know, I'm retiring out of the
- 57:15military, my wife said you need a hobby.
- 57:19So I brought a a bike, motorcycle.
- 57:25Couple of my buddies came down. One was, Hey doc man, if you're
- 57:31for if your shop was bigger, right, I'm like.
- 57:36Yeah. Brothers like I'm a dude.
- 57:39Let's think. Little bed big.
- 57:43Shop OK. And then my other brother.
- 57:49That came down another veteran. He goes, hey.
- 57:53Doc man, you got. A spare bedroom.
- 57:54If I hung out here for about 3 months, we could get this thing
- 57:58totally built I. Went brother the last time.
- 58:01You and I hung out. There was bail money involved.
- 58:07I said if you can clear that. Through wife unit.
- 58:13OK, she wasn't having it. But that's where the premise.
- 58:20Of project Die Hard came from. Now the name.
- 58:27That came from my time with the First Timetry Division.
- 58:30I was with the First engineers, the die hard battalion, right?
- 58:37No mission to difficult, no sacrifice to great duty.
- 58:41First. The project part of it is we're
- 58:45always going to be building. The goal of Project Die.
- 58:52Hard is to put a facility in every state.
- 58:56Where a veteran can. Come without judgment, without.
- 59:02The stress. Without the red tape, Without
- 59:05the bureaucracy and get skill training, counseling, therapies,
- 59:13transitional housing, all at no. Cost to the.
- 59:17Veteran. So we started in two. 1018 we
- 59:25started out small with our fellowship breakfast.
- 59:29You know, try to get the. Mission out.
- 59:34And then we all know what happened in. 2020.
- 59:39But during that time. I had a organization reach out
- 59:46the haven of love, Christian Daycares, right?
- 59:51And said, can you tell? Us more about.
- 59:54Your mission and. We were talking and then.
- 59:58They invited me up to Mckanda, Illinois to talk.
- 1:00:04I said OK, I'll go anywhere and talk about this mission.
- 1:00:09Well, they walked. Me through 20 acres in the
- 1:00:1210,000 square foot building. And at the end of that they
- 1:00:18said. Can you use this for your
- 1:00:20mission? I went of course, but there's no
- 1:00:24way. We can afford this.
- 1:00:28Good, we're giving. It to you?
- 1:00:31Wow. So since 20. 20 I've been trying
- 1:00:39to gain the support. You know.
- 1:00:45To get it built out, you know it.
- 1:00:52That's what it's going to take. It's going to take the community
- 1:00:55support. Our fellowship breakfast has
- 1:00:59still been going on the first Wednesday of the month in
- 1:01:03Paducah, KY. That's our outreach.
- 1:01:06I want to put that breakfast in every city.
- 1:01:13Can't do that without support. What channels have you been?
- 1:01:18Using obviously social media, obviously the breakfast.
- 1:01:22What channels have you been using to really get your your
- 1:01:26mission out to the veteran community?
- 1:01:29Since there's so many different opportunities to connect, I use.
- 1:01:35LinkedIn, all the socials, right?
- 1:01:39Ryan Hunt, I'm sure you all heard his name.
- 1:01:41That veteran social, right? Great guy.
- 1:01:46He helps as. Much as he can.
- 1:01:50Him and I've been in. Talks.
- 1:01:52You know how he does the veteran social virtually, right?
- 1:01:57I want to host the. Veteran social, in person, in
- 1:02:02the veteran resource centers that I'm going to be building.
- 1:02:09Can you imagine that we do, He does the virtual.
- 1:02:12I got places all around the US where veterans can come, they
- 1:02:17can hang out in the retreat center.
- 1:02:21You know, let's, let's do this big thing.
- 1:02:25But that's why I asked. Veterans share the mission.
- 1:02:31Tell somebody about us. Yeah.
- 1:02:34Look, guys, I don't take a salary.
- 1:02:38None of my leadership will ever get paid.
- 1:02:44You want transparency? Ask My accountant has orders.
- 1:02:54Send them the books. I don't give a flying flip.
- 1:03:00Well, and so. You're transparent.
- 1:03:03You're doing the right thing. Your Army coach would like that.
- 1:03:06You're somewhat familiar with the Illinois coach would like
- 1:03:10that. What?
- 1:03:14What do you see? As where do you have momentum
- 1:03:18and obviously talking with Ryan is always a great step where do
- 1:03:22you have momentum and where do you think that would you would
- 1:03:28like additional resources to besides what you're already
- 1:03:32working on to maybe help maybe somebody watching can see this
- 1:03:36and go oh, I got somebody who could really help Brian with
- 1:03:39this Oh again, brother, we. Have a community support program
- 1:03:45right are. You a ministry partner?
- 1:03:50Are you a resource partner? Are you an outreach partner, a
- 1:03:58mission supplier of this facility supplier or an
- 1:04:03affiliate partner? Where do you fit in?
- 1:04:09Anybody can say, hey, I want to help but I got this thing guys.
- 1:04:14I only take the best because veterans deserve only the best.
- 1:04:24I I've been doing this since 2:00. 1018 I have ran people
- 1:04:28away from this mission because they want to come in here and
- 1:04:33use veterans as a political toy or a fundraising scheme or no,
- 1:04:40that's not going to happen. We do a podcast.
- 1:04:46Every Monday, I invite veterans, especially veterans, if you have
- 1:04:53information veterans need, if you have a program veterans
- 1:04:59need, reach out to us. Let's get you booked in.
- 1:05:05OK? Everybody asked me for, well,
- 1:05:08what's your numbers? I personally do not care.
- 1:05:13About numbers, I got a marketing team that.
- 1:05:18Does. Well, and and, you know, like
- 1:05:23it. Says on the bottom and you know
- 1:05:25that's kind of the the mission of the motto from even I shared
- 1:05:28that with you when we first connected.
- 1:05:29We are connected veterans. We're one connection away
- 1:05:33because literally how did all of this transpire So you I military
- 1:05:38broadcast radio all came through vet social and Ryan Hunt.
- 1:05:42That's one connection, one connection, man, this rabbit
- 1:05:47hole and all of us got connected right?
- 1:05:49Well, since that that connected me to things like warrior
- 1:05:53rising. That's connected me to things
- 1:05:55like victor and valor. That's connected me to things
- 1:05:57like till Valhalla project. It just keeps that connection
- 1:06:01keeps going on because of the brothers and sisters who made
- 1:06:04that commitment to each other, who made that commitment as
- 1:06:07coach, as the both the flag on and behind him, right?
- 1:06:13Who made that commitment to something beyond themselves,
- 1:06:17right. Coach, what do you think?
- 1:06:21Well, I, I, I think there's a. Couple things that I see here
- 1:06:24and now, now #1 if you, if you want to get anything done, don't
- 1:06:28look to your first Sergeant, don't look to your E sixes, go
- 1:06:30to your staff sergeants or your certain first classes, your SFS,
- 1:06:34the SFS, they're connected, but they're not.
- 1:06:37They haven't entered that political realm of the first
- 1:06:39Sergeant, Sergeant majors yet. So I know you, you're at a,
- 1:06:42you're at a place, I'm a, I'm a retired company commander,
- 1:06:45right? We're retired captain, but I was
- 1:06:4710 years enlisted, 11 years as an officer.
- 1:06:50So I, you know, I knew where to go.
- 1:06:51So number one, you got to thrive to get her done #2.
- 1:06:56I, you know, like to think there's a lot more people who
- 1:07:02think similarly to what you think.
- 1:07:06And we're talking about that earlier.
- 1:07:07If you want a loyal, if you want a loyal person on your side, you
- 1:07:12know, pick a veteran and the veterans will, will show up.
- 1:07:18There's, there's other people who are doing similar things to
- 1:07:22you, maybe not the same things, but there's a lot of us out here
- 1:07:25trying to to work and, and we just want to make sure we're not
- 1:07:29duplicating efforts. So what have you done to connect
- 1:07:33with other people to find other people who have that same drive
- 1:07:37as you do to, you know, expand this.
- 1:07:41I admire your, you know what you're doing.
- 1:07:45You know, the definition of a volunteer is somebody who's good
- 1:07:47for nothing. And we're all, you know, a
- 1:07:50little bit good for nothing. But when we can serve a veteran.
- 1:07:54So the VAC if if you connected to local veterans assistance
- 1:07:59commissions to let them know that you exist.
- 1:08:01I just checked and I believe there's one in Paducah.
- 1:08:04Yes, we have. Reached out to everybody
- 1:08:08brother. Every.
- 1:08:11Month at our fellowship breakfast, I say, do you serve
- 1:08:18veterans? Why don't you come join us?
- 1:08:22I had a great. VSO.
- 1:08:26That was with the. DAV here in Paducah.
- 1:08:31She retired out right. She used to.
- 1:08:37Every month right there passing out her card get helping
- 1:08:42veterans she retired her replacement.
- 1:08:48I don't speak I'll of anybody, but within our local veteran
- 1:08:52community we're. Already planning on how to.
- 1:08:57Tar and feather her. I hear you.
- 1:09:02OK. Let's all work together well as.
- 1:09:08You know, BJ and I were talking earlier, I'm the senior vice of
- 1:09:11our local American Legion. And the, the, the problem with
- 1:09:14the Legion, the, the, the other veterans groups, VFW, they all
- 1:09:18do great things. All their missions are a little
- 1:09:20bit different. But the problem is a lot of the
- 1:09:23people who have taken leadership roles in these organizations,
- 1:09:27we're never a qualified leader during their time in the
- 1:09:30military. And their perception of
- 1:09:33leadership as they're, you know, projecting it in these
- 1:09:36organizations, screwing them up, it's not helping them.
- 1:09:40And, you know, we got we got to continue to pull together.
- 1:09:44I went to the state convention for the American Legion because
- 1:09:47I'm supposed to be the commander of our our post next year.
- 1:09:51And man, these guys, you know, in the pomp and circumstance and
- 1:09:55they got all these people walking around like they had
- 1:09:57general. That's like, stop it.
- 1:09:59This is a volunteer organization.
- 1:10:00More than that. These are people who pay to
- 1:10:03play. You know, they pay a dues to be
- 1:10:06part of this organization. You can't treat them like that.
- 1:10:09Stop it, right. Let's organize each other and
- 1:10:13let's bring it together. If you missed a few minutes ago,
- 1:10:15we were talking about leadership and leadership by definition as
- 1:10:19a servant of the people, right? Let's serve the people.
- 1:10:22Let's stop trying to trying to be served.
- 1:10:25So, you know, I admire what you're doing 100%.
- 1:10:28And if I ever get to the Duke of Brother, I'm going to look you
- 1:10:30up. Hey brother, check this out.
- 1:10:33My leadership team hates me because they want me to wear the
- 1:10:41collared shirts in the right, and 9 out of 10 times when you
- 1:10:48see me at one of our events, I'm wearing a volunteer shirt.
- 1:10:55I have I. I want no fame, no fortune out
- 1:10:59of this so. Yesterday that.
- 1:11:02Ministry asked. Well, what do you see?
- 1:11:05Where do you where do you fit into this?
- 1:11:08If it when it goes nationwide, I went I get to travel to every
- 1:11:13facility and no veteran knows who or what I am.
- 1:11:21I get to sit around with a cup. Of coffee and go hey guys,
- 1:11:25what's going on? Yeah.
- 1:11:27There's there's so much you know, but Jesus was was the
- 1:11:31greatest undercover boss of the world.
- 1:11:33So you know it's let's let's we need a little more people like
- 1:11:38you in here do appreciate you stopping by man this is this
- 1:11:43been fun. If there's one thing that
- 1:11:46somebody out there listening can do for you, I know you already
- 1:11:49said get on my social media share and I've already joined
- 1:11:52your social media and I'm looking at your podcast right
- 1:11:54now and you know, get it out there.
- 1:11:58And it's just project Die hard. Go to Apple podcast, go to
- 1:12:01wherever you listen to podcast and listen to what these guys
- 1:12:04have to say because you know what, we're out here.
- 1:12:07We're in this together. Well, again, brother.
- 1:12:12Since I got this platform. National.
- 1:12:17America Legion National VFW. We have been reaching out.
- 1:12:24Reply to us. Let's talk.
- 1:12:29I'm not asking everybody to deliver millions of dollars.
- 1:12:35I'm. Asking how can?
- 1:12:37We work together, what can we? Do.
- 1:12:42Together I got a bunch of blessings sitting in right here
- 1:12:48in this folder. In this screen I have a bunch of
- 1:12:52blessings. I have a 10,000 square foot
- 1:12:58venue from a veteran owned restaurant, a Club 22 member who
- 1:13:10says we can use it at no cost anytime.
- 1:13:17If I don't get volunteers. I'm not going to pull that
- 1:13:20trigger. Well.
- 1:13:22I. I I hear you.
- 1:13:25So we'll you got our support and you know you got this right.
- 1:13:32Here is a. Great support, BJ.
- 1:13:34We've been talking. This is this is a step now that
- 1:13:39I didn't have yesterday. Well, and that's.
- 1:13:43The whole idea this. Platform is is pardon me for my
- 1:13:47service dog just came in and said hi.
- 1:13:51But one of the things that this platform is designed to is
- 1:13:55exactly why I wanted to start this show is and it says it in
- 1:13:59the title description, it's not about the tech, it's about the
- 1:14:02people. It is about the people and it is
- 1:14:04about that connection and it is about exactly what you are
- 1:14:09bringing forth winning outcomes. As we coach put it up there work
- 1:14:13stands for winning outcomes of resilient knowledgeable veteran
- 1:14:17entrepreneurs, which you certainly are my friend.
- 1:14:19So thank you for the short notice jumping in and let's.
- 1:14:25Come on back. Brother.
- 1:14:27You know I want. You on my podcast, coach, you're
- 1:14:30welcome too look well the more. Voices.
- 1:14:35You get. Tell you what if?
- 1:14:38If you want to stick. Around a little bit, we're
- 1:14:40getting ready to go into a little bit of combat brain turn.
- 1:14:42How much time we got left each. I haven't even looked at the
- 1:14:44clock we got. You know, a little bit of time,
- 1:14:481520 minutes. Perfect if we.
- 1:14:50Keep it on we could. Extend it past, but yeah, we got
- 1:14:531520 minutes on the the slot. Well, I could, you know, I, I
- 1:14:56can talk. About what what we need to talk
- 1:14:58about here in a few minutes, but stick around and listen to what
- 1:15:01I do and let me know. Then after a while we'll we'll
- 1:15:05connect offline and see how we can support your mission.
- 1:15:10So with that, with that said, BJ, what's your first question?
- 1:15:16Well, first question in terms. Of the you have so.
- 1:15:21Many amazing. Success stories with combat
- 1:15:23brain training, right? So and what is the for those who
- 1:15:28haven't gone to the website from last time when we talked about
- 1:15:31it and those who aren't familiar with that, what is the just
- 1:15:38kind? Of the back story about.
- 1:15:39How I know how it is and was created, but a lot of the
- 1:15:43viewing audience and a listening audience doesn't know that
- 1:15:46because keep in mind. We have a listening audience.
- 1:15:50A listening only. So if you could share some of
- 1:15:54that, absolutely. In 2007, the United States
- 1:15:59Marine Corps was trying to solve the problem of why does 1 Marine
- 1:16:04walk into an area and and since something is wrong and skirt
- 1:16:09around it and the next Marine walks in and gets blown up.
- 1:16:12How can we improve the intuition, the anticipation
- 1:16:18level of all Marines? They brought together a group of
- 1:16:20neuroscientist, neurologist, psychologist, psychiatrist, war
- 1:16:25game and and brainstorm this problem.
- 1:16:29John Kennedy's brother was part of the command staff who was
- 1:16:33organizing this and he called John.
- 1:16:34And now John is none of the above.
- 1:16:36John was a or is a consulting engineer.
- 1:16:41He's worked with companies like Motorola and and Abbott to
- 1:16:45troubleshoot and and create problems or problem solving and,
- 1:16:50and they called him in Canada. Interpret what all the smart
- 1:16:53people were saying. Well, at the end of the day,
- 1:16:56John said, I don't understand anything.
- 1:16:57They're going. But he took a look at the brain
- 1:16:59as if it was a mechanical process and he created a program
- 1:17:05that we now know is combat brain training.
- 1:17:07Now all the smart people said, well, that'll never work.
- 1:17:11And he said, well, let's give it a try.
- 1:17:13And they embedded him with the lowest performing platoon of
- 1:17:17Marines at 29 Palms in 2007. He was there with him for two
- 1:17:21months. Now there's a control group also
- 1:17:24that they were both getting, both platoons were getting the
- 1:17:26same Marine Corps training, but his group was getting the brain
- 1:17:30training for 1520 minutes a day on top of it.
- 1:17:34At the end of two months, not only were they the best
- 1:17:36performing platoon in the battalion, the brigade, the
- 1:17:39post, they're getting national recognition.
- 1:17:42John went on to train Marine Corps pilot, sniper teams, Navy
- 1:17:46Seals and and others over over 100 DoD assignments he had where
- 1:17:52the brain training was supplied. But what they found out was the
- 1:17:57Marines returning from deployment with PTS and
- 1:18:00traumatic brain energy and other issues.
- 1:18:02Their recovery time was cut in half.
- 1:18:04So along that light, things are moving pretty well.
- 1:18:07When the Obama budget cuts came out and some general took a look
- 1:18:11at it. So that's a sheet full of
- 1:18:12colored arrows and that's costing me hundreds of thousands
- 1:18:15of dollars. Slash and he found himself out
- 1:18:18in the civilian world when he had been supporting only the DoD
- 1:18:21for the last four years. Well, it came out of the DoD as
- 1:18:25peak performance athletic training.
- 1:18:27The military brain, the athletic brain very similar the need to
- 1:18:31make rapid decisions and stressful environments carry
- 1:18:34them out with confidence. So he came out and started
- 1:18:37training athletes, very high level athletes at the same.
- 1:18:40Time started working people. With with mental and
- 1:18:43neurological issues, essentially what we do is applied
- 1:18:47neuroplasticity. We give the brain the tools it
- 1:18:50needs to rewire itself. Now a Doctor Kara Yoshi out of
- 1:18:54MIT, doctor Christine Grind Burger out of Rochester
- 1:18:57University both done a lot of research on this and while we
- 1:19:01haven't worked together directly, what we do satisfies
- 1:19:05all the research that they have done.
- 1:19:07We are helping people operate at a faster level.
- 1:19:13We we time the brain, we give a few steps and then we time the
- 1:19:18brain again and we send in just 15 to 20 minutes.
- 1:19:21We're improving the operating speed in the human brain by
- 1:19:24about 15 to 20%. We've actually measured it.
- 1:19:29It's about 250 milliseconds. And if you put that in
- 1:19:31perspective, an improvement of 250 milliseconds in reaction
- 1:19:36speed for a Major League Baseball player is a difference
- 1:19:39between seeing 100 mile an hour fastball has an 89 mile an hour
- 1:19:44fastball. And imagine what that's going to
- 1:19:47do to his batting average. But at the same time, we're
- 1:19:50helping kids with ADHD, we're helping people with the flexi
- 1:19:54offered has had some success with this.
- 1:19:58Well, that's with PTS. It's helping them discern the
- 1:20:04difference between the dream and reality, right for PTS?
- 1:20:09Right. They're living the dream, which
- 1:20:11is why it, we hear stories all the time with some guy stabbing
- 1:20:14his wife or his children or, or shooting his way out of Walmart
- 1:20:19and he's he's stuck back in the war.
- 1:20:21He can't get out of it. Well, when he can tell the
- 1:20:23difference between the dream, the dream loses the power over
- 1:20:27him and the dreams begin to fade away and he begins to get his
- 1:20:29life back or her life back. So at the website which BJ has
- 1:20:36posted at the bottom there, Combat Brain training.com, if
- 1:20:39you, if you go out and look at our testimonies and, and just
- 1:20:42scream down and we've, we've separate them out by military,
- 1:20:45by students, by different issues.
- 1:20:49These are real people and these are real results of what's
- 1:20:52happened. Now I've had the opportunity to
- 1:20:54work with a lot of different people and I get to see these
- 1:20:57miracles. Personally, one of the things I
- 1:21:00ask all the time, especially for my my memory patience, is what
- 1:21:07lays at the bottom of the ocean and shakes and the answer is a
- 1:21:10nervous wreck, right? And I'll I'll ask it and then
- 1:21:13I'll give him a couple of steps and then I'll ask a question
- 1:21:16again. 2 minutes later I'll say what lays at the bottom of the
- 1:21:19ocean and shakes and they won't know the answer.
- 1:21:21I figured out if I want to be a comedian get a lot of glass.
- 1:21:24I just start working at memory care units and assisted living
- 1:21:27because I only need 2 jokes to make it through 1/2 hour set.
- 1:21:31Now the other day as I was leaving, I told the ladies, I
- 1:21:34have about 8 ladies and this is one who come to the sessions and
- 1:21:38I said I'll bring back some new jokes next time.
- 1:21:40And the one let me dead now. And she said just bring the same
- 1:21:43ones. We won't, we won't remember
- 1:21:45them. Now there's an element of humor
- 1:21:47there, but also a, a bigger element of sadness.
- 1:21:51As I walked out, I felt like crying all the way out because
- 1:21:54they know that there's something going on, but they don't have
- 1:21:57any control over it. And that's where I bring just a
- 1:22:00little bit of hope to people. I, I, you know, we don't profess
- 1:22:04to be, you know, that the answer to all these problems, we don't
- 1:22:09say that, you know, hey, this will cure whatever ails you.
- 1:22:13But if we can make your life a little bit better, if we can
- 1:22:16give you a little bit better, higher quality of life, if we
- 1:22:19can help a guy who's had dyslexia for 53 years read a
- 1:22:22page out of a book like it's a normally if you see the smile on
- 1:22:26BJ, he's the guy who, you know, when we went through this
- 1:22:31training, it was painful. Watching him get.
- 1:22:34Through it the first time and I said you got a little bit of
- 1:22:37dyslexia going on there, pal, he says.
- 1:22:39Well, I think so, but never been officially diagnosed.
- 1:22:42But we switched from directions to colors for him.
- 1:22:44And then over the course of the next three sessions, all of a
- 1:22:47sudden his, his mind or brain just started working.
- 1:22:50I won't say like a normal brain because I don't even know what a
- 1:22:53normal brain is that he's holding up a kind of example of
- 1:22:56that. But for people who are
- 1:22:57struggling, especially in this world, you know, our, our
- 1:23:01American Legion unit 3 years ago, we did it in May, we did a
- 1:23:0522 mile Rd. March for the 22 veterans.
- 1:23:08And I just come off a knee surgery.
- 1:23:10So I was a knee replacement. So I wasn't able to walk the
- 1:23:13whole thing, but I followed along in a car with water and,
- 1:23:17you know, snacks and food for and my house was about 5 miles
- 1:23:22from the, from the end. And so we're getting close to my
- 1:23:27house. I drove up, I pulled my driveway
- 1:23:29and I walked that last five miles on 2 artificial knees that
- 1:23:33were within three months of being replaced.
- 1:23:37I said, you know, I'm not letting them do this by
- 1:23:39themselves. And I was struggling a little
- 1:23:42bit and guess who came up and got on either side of me and
- 1:23:46help me along to make sure I made it?
- 1:23:49Veterans right now, we're in this together and, and we know
- 1:23:54this right, that these guys I met at, at breakfast here, the
- 1:23:57morning one was Army, one was Navy and, and a lot of bickering
- 1:24:00going back and forth. I said we all did the same
- 1:24:02thing. I, the Navy guys said, no, we
- 1:24:04didn't. I said, yes, we did.
- 1:24:06We served our country and we continue to serve and we can
- 1:24:09serve each other. We serve our communities.
- 1:24:12We're, we're not discriminatory. You need help.
- 1:24:14We're going to help you. Now we will, we will put a
- 1:24:18veteran first. There's no question about it.
- 1:24:21But once the veterans are taken care of, we will dive in the
- 1:24:23community and see where they need us.
- 1:24:25So with brain training, we this is this is my AI assistant.
- 1:24:30The BJ has he's I guess he's her father and her mother because
- 1:24:38he's. A developer, but if.
- 1:24:39You want to find out how these that voice AI, how it works.
- 1:24:43Give Michelle a call, ask her how a combat brain training can
- 1:24:48help you. And once it gets down to it,
- 1:24:52she's going to put you, she's going to send you my booking
- 1:24:55link. And once she sent you my booking
- 1:24:57link, you can get on my calendar and we can have a discussion to
- 1:25:01see how we can help and support you.
- 1:25:05You got a question there, Brian? No, brother, I got a statement.
- 1:25:09This last Monday I had somebody talking about your program on my
- 1:25:12podcast. Really.
- 1:25:14Did you have John? No this.
- 1:25:17Was a Sandra? Was her name Oh Sandra?
- 1:25:22Yeah, she's fairly. She's fairly new with her.
- 1:25:24I haven't. I haven't met her personally,
- 1:25:26but John talks very highly of her well, publicly.
- 1:25:30And I had, if you looked at our social, we had a little hiccup
- 1:25:36between one of our ministry partners and her.
- 1:25:40OK, it's fixed. It's all I'm going to say.
- 1:25:43It's fixed. But.
- 1:25:45I need you to come back to my podcast to explain that program
- 1:25:52because I don't know if if Sandra would be willing to come
- 1:25:56back. My team's talking to her, but
- 1:25:59well, I really want her back. Yeah, I have.
- 1:26:03No problem with that. John's a powerful Christian.
- 1:26:06I am Romans 12/2 is our guiding verse in the IT is in the
- 1:26:10renewing of the mind that we begin to understand the true
- 1:26:14will of God and that's where the rule #1 in my.
- 1:26:17Organization. God will never leave the
- 1:26:20mission. Don't ask.
- 1:26:23Amen. Amen.
- 1:26:24I, you know, I talked to people and see if you ever kind of had
- 1:26:26somebody come up and jab you on the ribs from behind and go
- 1:26:28boot, you know? Well, yeah, I have.
- 1:26:30Well, that's where that's where God is.
- 1:26:32This is. But you're walking the other
- 1:26:33way. Stop, turn around and brace him.
- 1:26:37We could we. Could get into that that talk a
- 1:26:40whole lot but my you know, combat brain training is up
- 1:26:45there. Emma is the original AI that I
- 1:26:50mean, she had me from hello when I first first talked to her.
- 1:26:56But Emma Michelle both about the combat brain training and they
- 1:27:01can answer any question you have about it.
- 1:27:04They can give you the research and the data to support it.
- 1:27:07And then, you know, get your scheduling links so we can get
- 1:27:11on a conversation. But at the end of the day, as I
- 1:27:14said in, you know, right before the, the, the intro, if you're
- 1:27:21ready to, you know, do an upgrade, your phone sends you a
- 1:27:23reminder. Hey, it's time for an upgrade.
- 1:27:26Your computer sends you a reminder.
- 1:27:28If you don't update Windows, it's it's not going to be
- 1:27:30supported anymore. Your car will send you a
- 1:27:32flashing nose. Update your software.
- 1:27:35Your brain's not telling you anything.
- 1:27:37Dude, I'm working on a 1955 agricultural software system up
- 1:27:41between these ears. And it takes me a while
- 1:27:43sometimes to, you know, I grew up in a small town of western
- 1:27:48Nebraska. I graduated 5th of my high.
- 1:27:53School class and I didn't make the top 30%.
- 1:27:56So you know when I I said my farm boys kicking in, you need
- 1:28:00to slow down just a little bit for me.
- 1:28:02But I'll tell you since I've gotten involved in this
- 1:28:04organization, combat brain training, I've, I've witnessed,
- 1:28:08you know, miracles happen for people.
- 1:28:11You know it's not going to be perfect.
- 1:28:13You know, you're not going to go back out and run a half mile,
- 1:28:16but you aren't going to be able to walk right.
- 1:28:19So it's, it's just matters. We say staying connected,
- 1:28:25working with each other and, and, and just helping and
- 1:28:30supporting. We're we're going to push as
- 1:28:33many people as we can to you. At the same token, I all I
- 1:28:36wanted you to do is it's give me enough people that I can make a
- 1:28:39difference in the world. So.
- 1:28:42What else you want out of it, BJ?
- 1:28:44What? What can I?
- 1:28:46What can I tell you? Do you have any?
- 1:28:51You. You're.
- 1:28:52An. Amazing speaker but do you have
- 1:28:55any examples of somebody who's not a veteran or maybe a veteran
- 1:29:00without the, you know, the combat side of things for those
- 1:29:05sensitive viewers, do you have something that is, you know,
- 1:29:10whether it's sports or kids or or one of those scenarios we
- 1:29:15laugh, but. When we were asked to speak at
- 1:29:17the Construction Safety Council down at Hillside, Illinois, they
- 1:29:20had a problem with the word combat brain in the name Combat
- 1:29:23brain training. They're South side of Chicago
- 1:29:26and they didn't think. That's all the CBT became
- 1:29:28Construction brain training, right?
- 1:29:31But then it morphed into AB accelerated mental performance.
- 1:29:34So, you know, if there are those who want a, a more diplomatic
- 1:29:38name, we'll give it to him. We don't have a problem with
- 1:29:41that because that's exactly what we're doing.
- 1:29:42We are accelerating the the, the mind, the brain.
- 1:29:47I was working with the local high school volleyball program.
- 1:29:50I had the freshman, sophomore JV1JV2 at varsity and all the
- 1:29:56girls it, it was interesting because I always ask him what
- 1:29:59have you noticed it's any different?
- 1:30:00Oh, I can tell my right from my left. 80% of the girls said my
- 1:30:05handwriting writing has gotten better.
- 1:30:07I can read my own right handwriting now.
- 1:30:10But one girl specifically came up to me.
- 1:30:12She's a sophomore and she said coach.
- 1:30:14She says in 8th grade I was diagnosed with severe anxiety.
- 1:30:19I've I've been medicated since 8th grade.
- 1:30:21I go to weekly counseling sessions.
- 1:30:24By the 5th session, I do 5 sessions with them.
- 1:30:27By the 5th session, she said I I had convinced my psychiatrist to
- 1:30:34stop the medication. I didn't need it anymore.
- 1:30:36And she's down to an annual counseling session.
- 1:30:40I, you know, you see this. Yeah.
- 1:30:43The volleyball team, they won the conference for the first
- 1:30:45time in 27 years. But the most important thing to
- 1:30:48me is that one girl who lost the anxiety that was was clotting
- 1:30:52her life. I'm working with a guy with
- 1:30:56Guillain Barre syndrome. Guillain Barre syndrome.
- 1:30:59I call it Guillain bar again, Nebraska farm boy.
- 1:31:02But it's a an autoimmune disease for the body attacks the myelin
- 1:31:08coating on the on the nerves. And essentially it's like having
- 1:31:13a leaky water hose. You turn on the faucet, but the
- 1:31:15water never gets to the sprinkler right.
- 1:31:17It's spitting out all along the hose.
- 1:31:20So is it goes to pick things up, the energy never gets to his
- 1:31:23fingers. So he winds up picking things up
- 1:31:26like a seal with both hands and and moving it up and then the
- 1:31:30neurologist has told him he's never going to get any better
- 1:31:33than as well. After the first session, I I
- 1:31:35said to your fingers ever moved independently and his hands
- 1:31:38laying on the table and and they're doing this.
- 1:31:41It's like they're waking up after the third session.
- 1:31:44I called him on a Sunday. It's the day before Memorial
- 1:31:46Day. The next day I was reciting the
- 1:31:48regular flag on Memorial Day and I invited them to come to the
- 1:31:51talk and they said I had 9:00. It's kind of early for us to get
- 1:31:56up and get going, but, you know, thank you.
- 1:31:58But would you like to see what Bob's doing right now is talking
- 1:32:00to him on face tag? And it said sure.
- 1:32:03And she turned her phone around. He was fishing.
- 1:32:05His daughter had used Velcro to put the improve his grip on his
- 1:32:10left hand, but he's able to flip the Bale, cast the pole and reel
- 1:32:15right. Fishing's important to this man
- 1:32:17and he hadn't been able to do it in over three years.
- 1:32:19So I, you know, I get with this miracles every day when when
- 1:32:25we're out there, I used to get upset with people when they come
- 1:32:29into networking meetings with the skin care line and they'd be
- 1:32:32like, if you have skin, you are in my target market.
- 1:32:37And I feel like no, find a niche lady, find a specific group to
- 1:32:43work with. But today I walk in, I've gone
- 1:32:45Now, if you have a brain and your brain overwhelmed, you may
- 1:32:50be in my target market. But if you've ever walked into a
- 1:32:54room and wondered why you're there, you may need brain
- 1:32:57training. If you've ever turned left and
- 1:32:59when you should have turned right, you may need combat brain
- 1:33:02training. I got a whole jazz box where the
- 1:33:04line on on these things. But the bottom line is we all
- 1:33:07need a little bit. All of us are slightly
- 1:33:10overwhelmed. We're, we're loaded up with
- 1:33:12cortisol from all the conflicts, internal conflicts, external
- 1:33:16conflicts were mired in and we just need to be a little bit
- 1:33:20happier. We need to live life a little
- 1:33:22bit stronger and we need to be able to make decisions a little
- 1:33:26bit faster and carry them out with a little more confidence.
- 1:33:29And when we can do those things, life, life just gets better.
- 1:33:33So absolutely, absolutely. Brian is our honored guest
- 1:33:38jumping in here. What do you why you got him here
- 1:33:42and while you're live do you have combat brain related
- 1:33:46questions or amp accelerated mental performance or even just
- 1:33:49coach Papa Tim with his wise wisdom of 1700 years on the
- 1:33:55planet as a one Well our. Discussion we had on Monday was
- 1:34:02I was a combat medic, right? And we talked, by the way.
- 1:34:07We talked about. The mechanism of injury to the
- 1:34:11brain OK in. The brain pan.
- 1:34:17Your. Brain is surrounded by.
- 1:34:19Fluid. OK and I put this.
- 1:34:22Analogy out. You ever took a glass of water
- 1:34:26and put a drop in it and you saw the little ripples, right?
- 1:34:30Well, every time an explosion goes off, that shockwave hits
- 1:34:36that water. And it sloshes the brain.
- 1:34:40Around that, you're not getting a a headache, you're not getting
- 1:34:44concussion, but you're getting micro injuries to the brain.
- 1:34:50Right. Yeah, again.
- 1:34:53Guys, education is the biggest thing.
- 1:34:55Yeah, Coach, I'm on your website right now.
- 1:34:58I already sent the request to let's contact.
- 1:35:03Oh, perfect. I appreciate that.
- 1:35:05OK, Yeah, this is. This is Yeah, guys, this is
- 1:35:09serious. Well, with with.
- 1:35:12Traditional physical therapy, and not just on the brain.
- 1:35:16Let's just say you got a elbow that's out.
- 1:35:20The physical therapists are amazing what they do and
- 1:35:22rebuilding the muscles and getting everything working.
- 1:35:25But the bigger problem is reconnecting the brain to the
- 1:35:29elbow. Because when the body begins to
- 1:35:32sense that the there's a problem, it begins to actually
- 1:35:35pull back on the energy. And let's just say it's one of
- 1:35:38your legs, right? The brain pulls the energy from
- 1:35:42the damaged leg and feeds it into the healthy leg.
- 1:35:45And so it's not getting everything it needs.
- 1:35:47So while they're doing a great job, it's got to be reconnected.
- 1:35:51And that's what we do it, you know, the area of just for
- 1:35:56example, I have my right knee replaced.
- 1:35:58It took me 12 weeks to meet all the physical therapist required
- 1:36:03foundations that they wanted me to make.
- 1:36:05I had my left knee replaced. I started doing the brain
- 1:36:09training as a with my left knee to see if it would recover a
- 1:36:13little bit quicker in seven weeks.
- 1:36:16It it was, it had been all the physical therapy requirements,
- 1:36:19but my right knee still wasn't doing any good.
- 1:36:22So I had them tested and found out I had a staph infection
- 1:36:25inside my right knee and they had to redo my right knee again.
- 1:36:29They had to do a second full knee replacement.
- 1:36:31Well, this time I started doing the brain training three times a
- 1:36:34day before 2 weeks before the surgery.
- 1:36:38And again, I kept it up 3, three to five times a day after the
- 1:36:42surgery and I hit all of my physical therapy goals in four
- 1:36:46weeks and four weeks as back on a bicycle after a full knee
- 1:36:50replacement, right, I reconnected the brain well, the.
- 1:36:55Injured part. Again.
- 1:36:56Brother. The brain, yeah, This is for the
- 1:37:00veterans, guys. You're not stuck in the loop.
- 1:37:03You just have to connect new synapses in your head.
- 1:37:08And that's where coach's job is in, right?
- 1:37:13He's going to teach you how to do that.
- 1:37:17Well. Well.
- 1:37:19I'm going to correct one, one piece of your word.
- 1:37:22I'm not going to teach you how to do it.
- 1:37:23I'm going to train the brain to do it.
- 1:37:25See, a lot of people mix up what we do with mindset training.
- 1:37:28I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and talk out of people
- 1:37:30like me. I'm going to, I'm going to think
- 1:37:32my way out of it. I'm going to no, we physically
- 1:37:35train the brain. We rewire the brain.
- 1:37:38We give the brain the tools to rewire itself.
- 1:37:41I I don't go inside your brain. I'm not a neurosurgeon.
- 1:37:44I got it. Well, this is what I'm trying to
- 1:37:47put out. I get you.
- 1:37:48I appreciate. You there is a physical.
- 1:37:51Thing that happens when you receive this training yes, it's.
- 1:37:56Not brain surgery, but there's a.
- 1:37:58Physical thing that happens in your body when you get this
- 1:38:01training guide so. I look forward to connecting
- 1:38:06with you on the next few days. Yeah, I just I.
- 1:38:10Just hit the button, brother. We'll talk, but I do got to run
- 1:38:13because I got a veteran reaching out right now.
- 1:38:16You take care. Thank you again for.
- 1:38:18Coming on, Brian, I really appreciate the short notice and
- 1:38:21appreciate you stopping in. Thank you, brother.
- 1:38:24Bye. We'll start soon.
- 1:38:28All right, Coach. Yeah, we.
- 1:38:31Have we're in overtime here? Does that mean I get paid time
- 1:38:34and a half? Maybe I don't.
- 1:38:36Know. I don't know, do you?
- 1:38:40Is. There a time and 1/2 in the
- 1:38:42talking. I don't know.
- 1:38:45Now for the listening only audience, if you're curious
- 1:38:48about combat brain training, you can talk to the voice AI, the
- 1:38:52original Emma. You call 1-877-832-3732 and if
- 1:39:01you don't get through, that's probably because maybe one or
- 1:39:03two other people are calling at the exact same moment.
- 1:39:05There is a limit. I think right now at 10 could go
- 1:39:08up to 100, but right now I think it's set at 10.
- 1:39:11So 18778323732. Coach, what do you think for the
- 1:39:19evening's final poem of the night?
- 1:39:23Since you We'd love to start with your poems and end with
- 1:39:26your poems because you've got a few in in your under your hat
- 1:39:29there roses are red violets are. Blue, I've had a good time
- 1:39:34talking with you, but that's let's go back with if by Richard
- 1:39:38Kipling. Roger Kipling wrote this in
- 1:39:411897. It says if you can keep your
- 1:39:43head on, all about you are losing theirs and blame it on
- 1:39:47you. If you can trust yourself when
- 1:39:49all men doubt you, yet make allowance for their doubting
- 1:39:52too. If you can wait, not be tired by
- 1:39:54waiting or being lied to. Don't give in to lies or being
- 1:39:57hated. Don't give way to hating and yet
- 1:39:59don't look too good nor talk too wise.
- 1:40:02If you can dream and not make dreams your master.
- 1:40:05If you can think and not make thoughts your aim.
- 1:40:08If you can meet with triumph and disaster and treat these two
- 1:40:11imposters both the same. If you can bear to hear the
- 1:40:15truth you've spoken. Twisted by knaves to make a trap
- 1:40:18for fools. Or watch the things you gave
- 1:40:21your life to broken and stupid. Build them up with worn out
- 1:40:25tools. If you can make one heap of all
- 1:40:27your wedding's and risk it all on one turn of pitch and toss
- 1:40:31and lose and start again at your beginnings and never breathe a
- 1:40:35word about the loss. If you can talk with crowds and
- 1:40:38keep your virtue, or walk with kings, nor lose the common
- 1:40:41touch, if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, if
- 1:40:46all men count with you but none too much, if you can fill the
- 1:40:49unforgiving minute with 60 seconds worth of distance, run.
- 1:40:53Then yours is the earth and everything that's in it.
- 1:40:57And which is more? You'll be a man, my son, a
- 1:41:01woman, my daughter. He was not politically correct
- 1:41:04in 1897, but you know, that poem does speak about all the
- 1:41:07challenges we face in life and, and if it well, thank you, thank
- 1:41:11you. And if you do compare it with,
- 1:41:13you know, my poem when I become a better me, there's a lot of
- 1:41:17elements that exist in both of those.
- 1:41:20You know, life's hard. Nobody ever said it's going to
- 1:41:23be easy. But if you'll stand up, if
- 1:41:25you'll reach out, the the biggest problem with most
- 1:41:28veterans is we're self-sufficient, right?
- 1:41:30And, and we're self-sufficient even when we're not and when we
- 1:41:35forget that there are others out there who willing to help us.
- 1:41:38So if you got something going on, if you got a hitch in the
- 1:41:40giddy up, if you got a, you know, a lump in your throat, if
- 1:41:44you got a pain in your chest, don't be a fool.
- 1:41:47Reach out to somebody and, and get some help or reach out to
- 1:41:51the, the VA. Reach out to a, a veteran and
- 1:41:54he'll show up to doorstep and he'll make sure you're taken
- 1:41:57care of. So my name is Tim Stewart.
- 1:41:59I am Coach Papa, and I do approve this message.
- 1:42:03All right, Coach. Well.
