- 0:02Hello, everyone. Welcome back to our Thursday night sermon.
- 0:06This is Eye Opener Society. We want to welcome you on board.
- 0:10We want to thank everyone who tunes in, listens, downloads, plays us back,
- 0:16or joins us live. And I just want to let everybody know that starting next week,
- 0:21we're going to do a trial run.
- 0:25Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. So if you are on TikTok and been wondering where
- 0:32we were, we're going to take a shot or a stab at the live.
- 0:36And with that, too, after the sermon, anyone who's listened that would like
- 0:41to join us for kind of a little roundtable talk amongst the ministers, join us.
- 0:47We're welcoming you with open arms and we really would like to hear from you.
- 0:51So that's next week. But this week we are live right now.
- 0:56And let's start this. So, this is summer, and what's important with summer,
- 1:03and the reason I'm bringing it up is also due to the fact that Lizzie and I,
- 1:07when we do our regular Monday show.
- 1:10We were on kind of a bye week because I was getting ready for the new season, season of summer.
- 1:17And we have our episode coming up this coming Monday and we're hoping that everybody tunes into that one.
- 1:24But seasons are important to me. See, I live on the East Coast and I run through
- 1:27all four seasons and I've lived on the East Coast my entire life.
- 1:30So I go through all four seasons.
- 1:34And summertime has always been my favorite.
- 1:39And the only reason for it, and it's not so much weather, because whether we
- 1:44could either like a certain type of weather or not like it, I like the seasons,
- 1:49and I'm not sticking in the weather portion of it.
- 1:54Reason for this is summertime to me and in the whole spiritual world, this is life.
- 2:04When everything comes to life, the trees, the bugs, all the reptiles,
- 2:10all of life, anything starts to emerge and come out much more. Everything is greener.
- 2:16There's so much more activity when it comes to life.
- 2:21And that's what I love so much about it. You see, we go into spring,
- 2:25spring is like the emergence, the younger stages of life when we're just happy and free
- 2:32and everything's starting to come to life and everything is visually exciting as it comes to life.
- 2:38And then we move right into that adulthood of summer where everything now is
- 2:42experience and it's beautiful and everything is wonderful.
- 2:45Fall is the older age of life as it starts to crumble little by little as we
- 2:50get older and we're holding on so desperately to the last of our leaves on the trees.
- 2:56And then winter signifies death. And I always say, especially here on the East
- 3:00Coast, winter is the longest season.
- 3:04And that means death is the longest season. We have a very short timeframe of life.
- 3:10And that's why spring and summer is a time to celebrate and enjoy.
- 3:17And we take everything that we embrace and embody with ourselves and we enjoy it.
- 3:23Now, of course, we could do that during wintertime too. There's nothing against it.
- 3:29But it's just the representation of these seasons.
- 3:34And moving forward with this summer, I know I have a lot planned and I've been
- 3:39going outside a lot more and I've been doing more of my meditations outdoors
- 3:43because I love to do my meditations. You all know that.
- 3:47But doing them outdoors hits me even harder. And most recently,
- 3:52I was out and I have some little videos on TikTok where I just have my little
- 3:57inspirational quotes. But I was in a spot that I had found that was so amazing to me.
- 4:02It was so amazing because the moment I got into it, I achieved,
- 4:06and after all this time of meditation, I finally achieved complete mind silence.
- 4:15Most people say, well, if you've been doing it for so long, shouldn't you already
- 4:18be able to do that? No, it doesn't come. It comes to certain people in certain
- 4:23ways, and it's all in how you practice.
- 4:26But that complete mind silence is going to come when it's ready.
- 4:32It was ready for me. And I believe it had to do with where I was.
- 4:37This particular little spot on
- 4:39the planet, stuck in the middle of a wooded area. No one knows where I am.
- 4:46And I was able to find that peace.
- 4:50Everything around me changed everything in me.
- 4:55And I experienced something that I was seeing. And then Lizzie throws a wrench in it.
- 5:01But when I talk to her about it, it's like, how do we see that experience?
- 5:06See, that experience, I'm experiencing it, but I'm experiencing it through the experience.
- 5:14And it was a mind-bender for me. And I started to think about it.
- 5:20And I kept pondering on it.
- 5:23Are we living in an experience? And are we seeing it through the eyes of the experience?
- 5:28Or are we seeing it through the way we are experiencing it?
- 5:34And I like this. I like this conversation. And I like having it inside my own
- 5:38mind. Because this takes me into deeper states of meditation.
- 5:44And I also taught that when you are meditating, if you cannot quiet your mind,
- 5:48start questioning things, ponder things that seem so out there,
- 5:53you know, philosophically, theories, anything that is so hard to explain and,
- 6:00play it over in your mind, in your head, because that will help quiet all the
- 6:05other noise that's going on.
- 6:07And you get to have a conversation that's very deep, that brings you deeper
- 6:10into a meditation, that allows you to start experiencing the experience from the experience.
- 6:20This has been something that I took, the takeaway from this,
- 6:25from this experience that I had, just made me even more thrilled to do meditation.
- 6:34And it's even more thrilling to know, hey, this weekend it's going to be warm
- 6:39again. I'm going to go out to that spot.
- 6:41I may try to find another spot. And I'm going to start playing with the idea
- 6:46that certain areas will bring me a certain experience.
- 6:51And this is what I'm going to start to do over the summer.
- 6:56I try to explore new little places I have not been into, try meditating in them
- 7:01and see what type of experience I get to have in those places.
- 7:07And I'm going to start documenting all of this. And I might even record it too.
- 7:12And that was the thing that brought me to TikTok. I was so profoundly woken up,
- 7:18by that experience that I had to break myself out of it to open up my phone,
- 7:25and go live on TikTok for the very first time just to reach more of an audience,
- 7:32to let them know what I was experiencing.
- 7:36I felt I had to let everybody know about that.
- 7:39So now I get to have my sermon where I get to tell you, I'm not lying when I
- 7:45say you need to meditate.
- 7:48It's going to help probably in so many ways.
- 7:52To me, I think meditation embraces everything in life and we get to embrace
- 7:58those things when we're doing it. So if you have not done it or ever done it
- 8:02before, now's the time to start.
- 8:06Start fresh in this season. Every season, we should start something new.
- 8:11Every season, we should change up the way we do things.
- 8:14Keep life interesting.
- 8:17And that's what I am preaching to you today. Meditation can help you so much.
- 8:24You can always reach out to me, churchofeos at gmail.com if you'd like to work
- 8:29with me on a Zoom session where we can get together and do a meditation session together.
- 8:36I would like to start getting some group sessions together.
- 8:40And I think that would be an amazing thing to do. And Lizzie and I,
- 8:44we're both working on ways to,
- 8:47Bring more of the community to us So that we can all start working together,
- 8:54And as we get these things aligned and in place We're going to start letting
- 8:58you know how to do it And we wish to see you Because this is the whole purpose,
- 9:02of a community And this is something we're very excited about So we could start small,
- 9:07And then we could expand into such a large, wonderful, beautiful community and
- 9:12we could do it at the start of a season, the middle of a season, the end of a season.
- 9:17But we need to start.
- 9:19If we have ideas, if you have ideas, start them, start your season,
- 9:27start it in a way that's going to be refreshing and it's going to empower you. I felt empowered.
- 9:35I still feel empowered all because of one little meditation session where I've
- 9:40experienced something completely new.
- 9:45And this is what I wish for everyone. We all need to have that sort of.
- 9:53Excitement to build up, our energies to flow into such a beautiful and creative way.
- 9:59We need to stop being scared. We need to silence out those that are telling
- 10:04you no and no, you cannot.
- 10:06You can, you will, and you definitely should. And now's the time to start. This is a new season.
- 10:13We need to embrace it and we need to move on and we need to go forward as wonderful
- 10:18human beings that we all are. My name is Gary Dean.
- 10:22This was my sermon. I'm going to turn the microphone over now to our cosmic fairy princess.
- 10:27I know she's going to have something wonderful to say, and I love sitting back
- 10:30just like you in the audience where I get to hear her. Lizzie, it's all you.
- 10:36Thank you. Thank you very much. Okay. So today, if I had a title for my sermon,
- 10:44it would be to just say the weird thing.
- 10:48And to understand this, I have to take you all the way back to the beginning here. So,
- 10:55Okay. Originally, I thought it was very, very funny the way that my dad and
- 11:01brothers were grossed out by my period.
- 11:03And that inspired me to tell them all about it because I don't really understand
- 11:08the whole thing about being silent about it.
- 11:11And as their shock faded and their understanding about it expanded,
- 11:17I realized that that maybe is a big problem in the world is that most men just
- 11:22frankly don't know about your period. And this isn't all about your period, just so you know.
- 11:28But through this experience, I decided to take this with me.
- 11:32And as I moved into high school, all of my guy friends learned all about my
- 11:36period with me because they have girlfriends and they're going to have daughters one day.
- 11:41And I want them to not have to be the first person to tell this person about
- 11:47a normal body experience.
- 11:49And as I went through this, I also noticed that a lot of the women also never
- 11:55heard anybody else say a lot of the things that they're going through.
- 12:00And I won't even list them here because you can go on Google and there's like 300,000 of them,
- 12:06which is why sometimes it feels like a unique experience because that one or
- 12:11two people you felt close enough to give that TMI to had experienced all of those experiences.
- 12:19And as time goes on and I start working with clients as a massage therapist,
- 12:23I'm working very closely with their body.
- 12:26And the amount of shame that people feel about their cellulite or when they're
- 12:31on their period, different things like this, it just it kind of blows my mind.
- 12:37And as time goes on and I keep the same mindset, I was reminded just the other
- 12:44day while Gary and I were recording how beautiful of a concept it actually is
- 12:49when you tell people all about the thing.
- 12:52Because this has multiple parts here.
- 12:54On the one perspective, as a woman, when you are on your period,
- 12:59your hormones change so drastically, so quickly, you're not really entirely the same person.
- 13:08And that has to kind of be acknowledged. And there's a lot of people who've
- 13:12written so many magical books about tracking this and being able to utilize this to your advantage.
- 13:18But really, for me, it just comes down to half of it.
- 13:22I'm excited for the world and downloading information and exploring everything.
- 13:28And the other side, I'm deconstructing everything, which comes off a little
- 13:32bit like an argument sometimes because maybe that's just my flavor.
- 13:39But so the thing is, is when you talk to people about something that you experience
- 13:45regularly, even if you think it's TMI,
- 13:48that means that people close to you, when you say something so simple,
- 13:52so this is where it comes back to our conversation,
- 13:57the flow is just different.
- 13:59Nothing wrong with it. We were having just a good time, but the flow is different.
- 14:02And I think we were both trying to figure out exactly why and like catch ourselves
- 14:07onto the same page, the same flow.
- 14:09But the moment I said, oh, I started my period today, the flow was now on the
- 14:14same page. And I watched it. It was very interesting because he didn't speak to me any differently.
- 14:20But like we both understood where I was standing now because he knows exactly
- 14:25how I am. Oh, when I start my period, because he's my friend.
- 14:27And so he gets to hear all about it.
- 14:32But the thing is, is this goes just way beyond just your womanly cycle or the
- 14:38womanly cycles around you.
- 14:40The thing is, is as an energy worker, I find this also.
- 14:45The thing about shame is any emotion that you feel shameful for is something
- 14:51that you think you're the only one or like that you're not supposed to,
- 14:56like people can't know about you.
- 14:58I find oftentimes healing is on the other side of whatever you think is TMI
- 15:04of sharing with the other person.
- 15:06Now, of course, this does have to be consensual of the other person.
- 15:10You can't chase people around and tell them about your digestive cycle.
- 15:16I mean, you could. I'm not even going to get into it.
- 15:20My point is, is the more that I share my experience and the way that I've done
- 15:26things in like full honesty, even the TMI things, the more I find I'm able to help the other person.
- 15:34And the more I find that I am talking to people who actually have experienced
- 15:40that added extra detail that I normally might leave out in fear of being TMI.
- 15:49And so I just, Sorry, my thing says it's muted. I hope you guys can hear me. I don't know where my...
- 16:05The thing is, is whatever you think is a unique experience likely is not a unique
- 16:11experience as you think it is.
- 16:13A lot of the times the other person too just thinks it's TMI.
- 16:18And when that little piece of information gets left in the ether of secrecy,
- 16:23then that means that neither person got to learn what the other person has done so far about their TMI.
- 16:32And that's pretty much the summary of my speech today. Thank you so much for listening.
- 16:44Cool. Thank you so much, Lizzie. Thank you. We really appreciate having you.
- 16:49And we appreciate everybody for joining and listening to us.
- 16:54Just want to remind everybody next week, again, we are going to try something
- 16:57a little bit different. We're going to be recording on this platform,
- 17:01but we are going to be on TikTok as well. At least we're going to hope so.
- 17:06We're going to give it a shot. We're going to see how that all works out.
- 17:09But we want to thank you for joining us, and we wish you all the best.
- 17:13Thank you so much for joining us. We'll see you soon.
- 17:26Is my mic muted right now? No, I heard you. I saw you freeze up.
- 17:32It's a big block right in the middle of the screen that says your mic is muted.
- 17:37But then down at the bottom, it does not say muted. And I was like,
- 17:40oh, my God, I've just been talking for who knows how long. I know you can hear
- 17:44that. Like, it's not like I completely lost.
- 17:48I'm so sick of typing. My God, Gary, like, it's crazy. It's fine.
- 17:56Well, this is, well, this is why I'm worried because like I said,
- 17:59we do next week because I need to record these so that they go on our regular platform.
- 18:05So I'm going to have to have this set up just the way it is now,
- 18:08but that also means you're going to have to have yourself on the phone.
- 18:12So what I'm thinking, we're going to primarily just do everything on TikTok. It will be a TikTok live.
- 18:19We'll be focused on that. I'll be focused on doing it on the phone,
- 18:23but I'm going to have to set up so this way we can actually record this as is. So what I might do.
- 18:32Instead of doing it over this restream, I just might set up the Zoom and we'll
- 18:37just this way will just be a regular recording, but we're live on TikTok.
- 18:40So I'll figure that one out. I'm going to see how I could get.
- 18:44You know, you know, and it could be something like so I kind of forgot about
- 18:50that, that you don't necessarily put it out at a specific time.
- 18:54We just recorded at the specific time and it goes out later tonight. Right.
- 18:59And so I was thinking about that and what we really could do.
- 19:02So if we start recording seven year time, we could do at eight o'clock.
- 19:07There's like a 30 minute conversation where we do it on Zoom.
- 19:10Maybe we put both links out everywhere.
- 19:14And then whatever, like the conversation is maybe on topic of last week's,
- 19:19you know, that came out and maybe on topic of like whatever it is that they
- 19:23felt like talking about.
- 19:26I love that. And the reason I'm getting a little bit excited about TikTok is
- 19:29only because, like I said, we had no listeners tonight or viewers tonight.
- 19:33No big deal. Like I said, once we put it, you know, the recording out,
- 19:37people listen like crazy. Okay, no big deal.
- 19:40But with TikTok, we are probably going to get over 100.
- 19:44I guarantee it. Especially if we're running a 20-minute show,
- 19:48we're probably going to get close, in my prediction, about 200 listens all at once.
- 19:53Most of them are probably going to be freaking snide, snipey little fuckheads,
- 19:56and it'll piss me off, but I'm going to try to ignore that.
- 20:00Well, I don't want to do the sermon on TikTok.
- 20:05I thought we were doing, like, the conversation on TikTok.
- 20:11I was thinking of trying the sermon on TikTok. This way, during that sermon,
- 20:17we could start dropping the link for the after.
- 20:20And then we, this way. True, but I don't want to do church while people are
- 20:27essentially walking through.
- 20:30Does that make sense? It does, but it's kind of.
- 20:37I mean, that's what's happening with this. We just don't have, you know,
- 20:42you know what I mean? I don't know how, because that's what we're doing here,
- 20:46essentially, with this.
- 20:49Well, right, but we. We just don't have people walking through because we don't
- 20:53have the viewers, you know, as much as we would on TikTok.
- 21:04I feel like on TikTok, because of the foot traffic, it takes away from it being
- 21:09a church thing because there are going to be a bunch of comments and stuff.
- 21:13Does that make sense? And so I feel like it's more fun for like a conversation
- 21:18or something like that versus...
- 21:25Does that make any sense? It makes sense, but it won't work jumping from the
- 21:30platform to the other platform.
- 21:32Because here, essentially right now, let's just say next week we get a thousand
- 21:37views on this, what we're doing right now, right? It's going to be the same
- 21:41thing. There's going to be traffic.
- 21:45We're just not experiencing that yet because there's nobody,
- 21:49you know, joining us to the extent that it would on TikTok.
- 21:52Well, correct, but it's an energy thing.
- 21:56Oh, well, that's why I'm always been turned off by TikTok I was thinking about
- 22:03doing the live right across TikTok,
- 22:09And this platform as well It'll go across But we don't have to pay attention
- 22:15to any of the comments And I think, if I'm not mistaken We might be able to
- 22:18turn them off, too Until it comes time where we want to sit, you know,
- 22:23And have conversation then we could probably turn them on.
- 22:28That could be. So like where we have right now, anybody who scrolls through
- 22:35is kind of looking for this kind of content, correct?
- 22:43Completely lost connection. Okay. Are you back? Yeah. You disappeared for a
- 22:48second. Yeah, lost connection.
- 22:53I just forgot what I said. Okay. We were talking about the foot traffic and the whole energy of it.
- 23:01And I was saying, well, right now we're the same way. But right now,
- 23:06people, foot traffic, scrolling through, they're looking for this specific kind of content, correct?
- 23:14Not necessarily because if
- 23:16it's going out, it's just being broadcasted across YouTube and Facebook.
- 23:21So anybody that stumbles upon it can join.
- 23:24Now, the only problem we have is the fact that.
- 23:30We don't get anything because Facebook doesn't put, I don't even know anything
- 23:33about YouTube or how they do it. But when we go live, that's it. It just goes live.
- 23:38Like on my Facebook, people know that it's coming up or they should know,
- 23:42but they don't get to see that either. That's fucking Facebook.
- 23:44That's why I'm trying for TikTok.
- 23:47But we are just basically open air. Anybody can join in at any time.
- 23:51So even if somebody pops in, I've seen like last week, one person popped in
- 23:55for like a couple minutes and then left.
- 23:58That's just foot traffic that's coming in those people have the ability to start
- 24:02sending messages and we'll see them on the screen here if it happens,
- 24:06we're not getting any of that because we're just not getting the foot traffic
- 24:09and that's what I want I want the foot traffic because then I could tell the foot traffic,
- 24:14if you're connecting with this join us for the after our conversation because
- 24:20otherwise no one's going to know if we're doing it here no one's going to know
- 24:25to join us afterwards if nobody's following us on here.
- 24:29If they're following us, if we're getting 200 people on TikTok and then we're
- 24:32telling 200 people, join us for the after show kind of thing,
- 24:36we're going to have 200 people out of that.
- 24:38Maybe eight would say want the link and I could send those links out and then
- 24:43they could jump on here and then we could record a separate session.
- 24:46But if we do that here, like we just did, there's nobody watching us. One person popped in.
- 24:52That's it. So that one person might not even be interested. So we're not going
- 24:56to get the audience or tell the audience, hey, come join us for the show if nobody's watching.
- 25:03That's why I want to try TikTok because TikTok, then we can try,
- 25:06which is something we're going to have to get over anyway. If we want a community
- 25:09and if we want to reach out to them, we're going to have to deal with that foot
- 25:13traffic. I could do the whole show without paying any attention to the comments at all.
- 25:18I just do my show and then I could go back and start jumping in there and seeing.
- 25:22What people had said, and if there was something important, we could address it.
- 25:28So when you're, so people live comment on YouTube that you see right now? Mm-hmm.
- 25:36Let me see, I didn't know that. YouTube and Facebook. Yeah, YouTube and Facebook.
- 25:39And nobody's commenting because nobody's in here.
- 25:42We had a couple shows where we had two people sitting in, but nobody said anything.
- 25:45But they can if they wanted to.
- 25:48And like I said, if by chance we had like 30 or 40 people, there'd be like 30
- 25:55or 40 comments coming across.
- 25:58It'll show up on the side on our chat screen.
- 26:02I'm trying to figure out why I feel so differently about TikTok because that
- 26:07just doesn't feel the same, which is interesting. I'm not sure why.
- 26:13I'm still going to have to ponder that one.
- 26:16Yeah, ponder because it's the same thing with me. I don't like TikToks live. I don't.
- 26:23But what I do like about it, there's actually people watching us.
- 26:28There will be, and there will be a lot of people watching us.
- 26:31What we're doing right now is what we wanted to have people so this way people
- 26:36can join, but there's nobody joining because we're dealing with YouTube and
- 26:40Facebook, which kind of suck because they don't bring in what they used to.
- 26:49Maybe it's because I'm not focused on the amount of foot traffic.
- 26:52My focus is on trying to get like the repeat people, which I know you are too.
- 26:57I wasn't saying that you weren't.
- 26:59But so I think that's the only reason why I want to get on TikTok.
- 27:02And I do just kind of hate the concept of TikTok live with like the vibe that's over there about it.
- 27:11Like all the messiness about it and all of that. You know what I mean?
- 27:16Yeah. Maybe that's why I say it. Well, yeah, and that's, like I say, I can focus.
- 27:22I deal with that all day long. I can focus on what I need to do.
- 27:26And that's why I was thinking, we do exactly what we're doing here.
- 27:31And then at the same time, we'll have our phones up that are connected to TikTok.
- 27:36So we can just focus right on this platform. Well, I can only do one.
- 27:42Oh, well, then it won't work then that way.
- 27:45Because, do you remember, I can't get my laptop to connect to the internet consistently
- 27:50for any sort of live. That's why I've been doing it on my phone.
- 27:54Gotcha. Yeah, then that won't work. So it's like one or the other.
- 27:59Well, then what we're going to have to do is just keep doing what we're doing.
- 28:04But we're going to have to skip any kind of after talk unless we get people.
- 28:09And we're not getting people on here. So we either do...
- 28:15I think we're just thinking about this very differently Because I'm going on
- 28:19the concept That like you build it and they will come,
- 28:24Okay yeah and we've been building it We're doing it right now As we're building
- 28:28it And so we you know So people are downloading it and stuff right,
- 28:34Well so let's look at it like this then When we go Yeah it's just I get it I
- 28:41get it I love you too I love you too, Lizzie.
- 28:49Here's what we need to then consider. Maybe we should just do a Thursday recording.
- 28:53We won't go live because we're not getting anybody live.
- 28:56And I know we're saying, well, we're building it in consistency.
- 28:59But again, it's the two platforms, especially Facebook.
- 29:03It's not putting our content out there. So nobody's seeing it.
- 29:08So nobody's going to join us on the live. So if we recorded this only,
- 29:13just do a regular recording and put it out immediately, this is a Thursday sermon,
- 29:18put the messages in there,
- 29:20and then people can, since more people are listening to the recordings anyway,
- 29:25then we can figure out what we're going to do as far as an after show if people want to join us.
- 29:31It's easier though to pull people into an after show if it's live if they're
- 29:36watching us live and they're connecting to us and we're chatting with them hey
- 29:40join us for this after show we'll get people that way that's the way this is going to work.
- 29:50Yeah, we're just looking at it working in very different ways.
- 29:54Yeah. And here's my, I'm sorry, I don't mean to control us.
- 30:00I just want to be completely honest. This right now, the way we're doing it,
- 30:06it's fine, but it's a failure because we're not getting an audience.
- 30:10And that's exactly what the sermon needs, is an audience.
- 30:16We don't have an audience. We don't have an audience. We've never had an audience.
- 30:20I'm going to be completely honest.
- 30:21Two people jumped in for a couple of shows.
- 30:25And then the last one, one person stayed for 23 seconds. Today,
- 30:28somebody stayed for 10 seconds.
- 30:31So we're not getting an audience. TikTok will give us an audience. That's the difference.
- 30:37Right. But I'm not, I don't view it as a failure.
- 30:42I don't view it as a failure either. I'm just explaining that we are not getting
- 30:46an audience. And that's where I think where the confusion is.
- 30:49We could do this every single Thursday for the next 20 years,
- 30:53and we may only, due to the fact that it's Facebook, we may only get one or two people live.
- 30:59And that's just the cold, hard reality of this.
- 31:02TikTok is where it's at for a live audience. But I thought people were downloading it.
- 31:09They're downloading it. They are, but they're not downloading it live.
- 31:13I'm downloading it, and I'm putting it on the platform, the recorded version,
- 31:17and people are listening.
- 31:19But nobody's responding to anything we're telling them in the synopsis even
- 31:23live nobody's reached out and sent an email saying oh i would like to join you
- 31:27how do i join no one's doing all they're doing is listening to us,
- 31:32they much rather hear us on a recording rather than live is basically the feel
- 31:37i'm getting unless we're on a platform that has an audience well that's because
- 31:42gary we're still building it. There's not really anything.
- 31:45There's no benefit right now to watch it live.
- 31:50If it is going to be available tomorrow in my life, I will never even fucking
- 31:55try to watch it live if there's not a benefit because, like,
- 32:00I got to plan my whole day around that, you know what I mean, just as a listener.
- 32:04But, like, if it's live and then they're hopping in at the end,
- 32:08I think that's going to be very different.
- 32:10In my opinion, if people are listening to it later or now, that is equally an audience.
- 32:16It doesn't I don't think of that as like a different thing until we're looking
- 32:22at them coming in and joining us in much like now when we start these conversations,
- 32:27a lot of times it might just start out just me and you.
- 32:31And then we're just having a conversation about whatever it is that we want.
- 32:34Maybe we record it, you know what I mean, and put it out.
- 32:37If other people join, you know, you, me and one other person get to have a really
- 32:42in-depth conversation.
- 32:44That person is going to feel so much more connected and likely to keep coming
- 32:48back and share than anybody else who's just coming into a live.
- 32:53Does that make sense? That's the perspective that I was coming at it for.
- 32:59But if the amount of people who are live seeing it is something that's really
- 33:04important to you, I'm super open to exploring that.
- 33:07I can work on my rejection of the the tick tock sermon if if that's something
- 33:13that you wanted i'm not arguing against it.
- 33:15Oh i i got you i know it's not an argument i i think i'm just missing which
- 33:20do you want a live audience.
- 33:23I don't really give a shit.
- 33:26I want i don't if they're unless they're joining in on like a conversation then
- 33:30it doesn't really make a difference to me whether it's live or or not well then here's what we do.
- 33:39Instead of waiting for the 7 o'clock period of time and nobody joining,
- 33:43because, again, my thing is, and I'm trying to stress, what we're trying to
- 33:48do is not working on these social media platforms. This is just not working on them.
- 33:54Because, like I said, no one's listening. And the only reason no one's listening
- 33:57has nothing to do with you and I. I guarantee you we could get a lot more viewers,
- 34:00but Facebook is not pushing this out to people.
- 34:05I'm still just confused what you're saying. We don't have any listeners.
- 34:09Because I feel like you just You tell me all the time that we're like Okay So
- 34:14it's something that's really important To you that people are Viewing us live.
- 34:21Yes, because when we get live randos, those are more people that might say,
- 34:27holy shit, what have I been missing all this time?
- 34:30I mean, the whole purpose to get a community, what would it be if they saw it
- 34:37in three days and then they say, oh, wow, what have I been missing the whole
- 34:40time? Like, what makes the live special?
- 34:43The live special is the energy that we put out, that we are doing a sermon.
- 34:48You see, the whole purpose of the sermon is to do it live, which is kind of
- 34:51technically required for 501c.
- 34:54So if we're putting out a live sermon, we need an audience.
- 34:58We're not getting an audience due to the fact that Facebook is not pushing it out there.
- 35:03Okay, so we're doing it live because we technically have to,
- 35:07even if people don't watch it live.
- 35:09As we build a community and people are joining us afterwards,
- 35:14they probably will start joining live.
- 35:17No, they haven't yet. That's where I'm getting at. But that's what I'm saying.
- 35:20We haven't even started a place for them to build a community with us yet.
- 35:26Well, we have. Come to our live. Join us. See, that's what I'm saying.
- 35:30But they're coming to join as a listener. That's not a community.
- 35:35It is because that's the start. That's the foundation. Because if you never
- 35:39knew about Eye Opener Society, you're going to want to sit around and listen
- 35:43to this more. But you need to discover us.
- 35:46And discovering us live and saying, oh, what are these people talking about?
- 35:50Wow, this is a great grand concept. I want to follow them. Where do I follow them?
- 35:55We're getting that live sense. Somebody will then start chatting.
- 35:59Oh my God, who are you? Wonderful fucking people.
- 36:01And then we can say, hey, we are the wonderful eye-opener society. Come join us.
- 36:05We're doing a sermon, but we're doing a sermon, which means we're not going
- 36:10to be live responding to their comments. Yeah.
- 36:14Well, no, we won't. I mean, I will afterwards, not during my sermon.
- 36:20I'm not breaking my stride.
- 36:22But if people have questions or anything on there, I'm going to see them and
- 36:26I'll hold them to the end of the thing and say, hey, you know,
- 36:29I'll answer from there because that brings people in.
- 36:32So I think we're missing, both of us, you and I are missing each other's ideas
- 36:38because really all we need to do on Thursdays, fuck all the live shit.
- 36:44And just record a sermon, put it out immediately. Here's the thing.
- 36:48And then whoever winds up listening, listens on the podcast platforms.
- 36:52And if they want to join us, we'll wait forever for it.
- 36:55Or we could be exciting and genuine and swallow our fears with TikTok.
- 37:02Go live on TikTok.
- 37:04Do the sermon on TikTok.
- 37:06And bring fucking people in because then we'll have an audience.
- 37:10I mean, that's the whole difference between a sermon. Because otherwise,
- 37:13this is nothing more than just another podcast that we're doing,
- 37:15which is fine. I don't care.
- 37:17Like I said, we get the listens on the podcast, on the recordings.
- 37:22So they're picking it up tomorrow or even later on tonight.
- 37:26But when you and I are here talking live, we're not getting anybody.
- 37:31And again, it's not us. It's the stupid platforms we're on. That's what I've
- 37:35been trying to. But the thing is, it's not the stupid platforms.
- 37:39We create the algorithm.
- 37:42No uh see i and i think that's where you're missing it we don't create that
- 37:47algorithm facebook has been blocking me forever,
- 37:52it does not push ever since hannah and i stopped doing the show our live show,
- 37:58it stopped pushing any of my content,
- 38:03out to anyone right but but gary.
- 38:08We're a quantum pool of nothingness.
- 38:12Yes, we are. We create the algorithm. We create what's sent to.
- 38:17We create when people come and work with us. And people are going to come and
- 38:22join when they're ready to.
- 38:24And I know that you, like, the thing is, is the live, if, yeah,
- 38:29if you're on TikTok, people are going there to watch live. A lot of other places, people are not.
- 38:35But honestly I don't I really don't think the amount of people who see us live
- 38:40matters as much as the people overall
- 38:43and building the community is going to bring people in live I'm I'm super happy
- 38:48to go to TikTok to do it live if that's where you want to try it like I'm not arguing that,
- 38:54I was pondering and arguing my own rejection of it if that makes any sense but I just um I just Now,
- 39:02I just I feel like we've got a very black and white thinking on what works,
- 39:07what doesn't, how things happen and things like that.
- 39:10And that really just, I think, limits where we can take it and the opportunities that does come.
- 39:19Well, we can forget really the TikTok because, like you said,
- 39:25we still need to record it.
- 39:26So since you can't use two platforms, then we can't do unless we just did TikTok
- 39:32only and not worry about recording.
- 39:33We'd do a separate recording and do a TikTok. But I'm with you.
- 39:37Listen, and here's the thing. And I get where you're feeling because I don't
- 39:41want to be involved in the TikTok thing either because of what I've seen happen.
- 39:46But at the same time, I wanted to throw that dart and see if it hits a bullseye.
- 39:52I'm still the type. Listen, I'm
- 39:53all quantum physics and I'm all fucking spiritual, but I'm also the type.
- 39:58Where if it benefits us, we might as well try it. That's just where I come in with it.
- 40:04For sure, for sure. That's why I say, like, I'm not arguing it.
- 40:08I just think that a TikTok live conversation or even like a speech,
- 40:13like we can still do like a sermon type thing.
- 40:16But like our Thursday night sermons, I don't know. I just, I feel like.
- 40:23So what you're saying, we keep our Thursday night sermon, but we do something
- 40:27separate on TikTok where we build a community there just for discussions, right?
- 40:33No. No? I'm lost. I was just saying, if you wanted to try the TikTok live,
- 40:37I'd be down for that for just another conversation.
- 40:41Yeah, okay, that's where I was missing it. Okay, I get that.
- 40:45We'll think about it because I think of all...
- 40:49I think TikTok still is not right for us.
- 40:56So that's what, but again, like I said, I tried it and I noticed what a five
- 41:02minute conversation where I had like fucking 25 people there,
- 41:06you know, that's what we're trying to do with this.
- 41:10But it's never going to work as long as Facebook is behind the shit,
- 41:13you know, we can get people, we could get, but Lizzie, how long are we going
- 41:17to wait? That's the question.
- 41:20But the question is, why do you think we're waiting?
- 41:23Because. People that are engaging are engaging on the recordings only because
- 41:32they're podcast listeners.
- 41:33They're not people willing to jump on board for the church. They are podcast listeners.
- 41:40Because all of this is going out on podcast platforms and people are seeing
- 41:44something come across their screen. Oh, this seems interesting. Oh, cool conversation.
- 41:48But they have no interest in our community and joining that eye-opener society.
- 41:53We need to get that out somehow on a different platform, a different way of live or something.
- 41:58That's why doing this, the way we do it, would work beautifully if it was pushing
- 42:04our shit out there. It's just not pushing it out there.
- 42:07I have no control over that. We don't have any control over that.
- 42:12But with TikTok, because TikTok right now is the de facto when it comes to audiences,
- 42:19it will give us an audience. It will give us new people.
- 42:21It will give us people who are going to connect because they're looking for
- 42:24that sort of thing, you know.
- 42:26But we could scrap the whole idea because I think we're in two different planets
- 42:30on this one, I really think.
- 42:31No, actually, I think this is really good for us, just for the record.
- 42:35I know I look at everything so weird, but I was just like waiting when we were done.
- 42:39I was gonna thank you for lovingly working through this friction with me because
- 42:44i know it sounds like we're arguing but the thing is you and i are just such a polarizing people,
- 42:52the the fact that we're gonna come through these points where we think so fucking
- 42:57differently about it and truthfully whatever the answer is is probably a blend
- 43:01of both of ours and i just i love that we have this opportunity to lovingly find
- 43:06whatever like sparks irritation or you know like i like i wanted to reject tiktok
- 43:13like why did i want to reject tiktok that's so interesting i wanted to go tiktok live since i've
- 43:18been on tiktok i've had it i have had the option for over a year like i why
- 43:23don't i do it like why do i reject that that's so interesting you know so i
- 43:27just thank you for being you you're totally welcome
- 43:32and no never never an argument like i say it's just
- 43:35i think the viewpoints and really i think what it is.
- 43:39The only common factor in all of this is just the fact that we're both fearing
- 43:43tiktok just because of that reason you know i don't think it's going to be great
- 43:48but i just think we may get one or two more people in there,
- 43:52we're just having an audience to But if you think it's not going to be great,
- 43:57those one or two people are going to be a waste of our time.
- 44:01Yeah, and that's fine. I can keep doing exactly what we are doing.
- 44:08I have no problem with that. And more than likely, that's what we're going to do.
- 44:12If one day our algorithm fucking kicks in and we start to get more people,
- 44:17hey, no big deal. I think we'll do better with that.
- 44:20But as long as we're doing this, we have a recording. And like I said,
- 44:25people are listening to the recorded version of it. They're just not listening live.
- 44:29But we get a lot more people on the recording. But again, like I said, it's podcast people.
- 44:35It's just no different. Like when this gets recorded and I put it out to all
- 44:38the platforms, it's a podcast platform. So it's just people.
- 44:43And if they're looking for the spiritual side, they're going to see us,
- 44:45even if they're a first-time listener.
- 44:48I'll say, okay, yeah, this is pretty cool. And then some people,
- 44:50they download like fucking 300 episodes all at once. And I'm like,
- 44:53fuck yeah. But nobody reaches out.
- 44:56They got the addresses. They know how to...
- 45:00People right now we're still building it you got you got it oh no no like i i,
- 45:06i went so hard into it like so hard into this earlier and like the thing is
- 45:12is like i've really fucking learned that it doesn't matter,
- 45:15specifically with energy work people like they like when you're ready like like just like,
- 45:23we're we're i think we're doing way better than you think we are in my opinion,
- 45:28and i think that's where we're missing the communication because i'm not disagreeing
- 45:32with that i know see that's the thing i know we're doing,
- 45:37we're doing what we're supposed to be doing but if we're going to take you know.
- 45:42A leap to try something else it's no different than you wanted to try the discord
- 45:47right it's it's another platform now and i say okay well we'll try that too what's so funny,
- 45:54what do you think we're married or something over here no i was just i was thinking so i,
- 46:02my my most recent video i put on the fight song by rachel platonist because
- 46:07i've been really pondering like i'm a fucking argumentative person
- 46:11when i'm in my ego i'm still like fucking fight me like you know what i mean
- 46:16and the thing is is every time i like work through this and I let go of those parts of my ego
- 46:22I find deeper and deeper that it's just in my soul
- 46:25I am an argumentative person this is part of my soul flavor I came here to argue
- 46:31and so I'm playing with the idea that my problem is not that I'm arguing everything
- 46:36I'm always trying to like not argue things right
- 46:39but the concept is is that we are just like working out friction we're learning
- 46:44we're blending we're all these things but it's just like um,
- 46:47I was laughing so hard because this,
- 46:50is just like circling around and it was just it was just,
- 46:54I'm just such a weirdo. I'm loving this almost argument with you.
- 47:01Lizzie, here's to fuck the thing. I'm not even arguing. If you want me to get
- 47:06argumentative, holy shit, you better be ready.
- 47:09Between your energy and my energy, holy shit.
- 47:13You and I'd never be able to argue. We just, we're going to have to walk away.
- 47:18Yeah, yeah, holy shit. I know your intent.
- 47:23But you and i normally agree on everything like we just we flow so good and so it's just,
- 47:31this probably our first experience not flowing like the way that we normally
- 47:37do and i wouldn't say that we're
- 47:39arguing i wouldn't say we're flowing against each other we're just like not
- 47:42quite catching the other person's drift and i just i find that,
- 47:47fun i guess in my perspective from where we're standing.
- 47:52I guess I'm just a weirdo. I don't know.
- 47:57But I wouldn't want you any other way. So whatever. I think what the problem
- 48:00is here, let's shift all the blame on TikTok. You want to do that?
- 48:05Okay, sure. Keep all the pressure off of us? Well, TikTok made me do it, okay?
- 48:11There you go. That's it. We'll shift the blame to TikTok and we'll yell at TikTok
- 48:16and we'll argue with TikTok.
- 48:17That's all it is. It has nothing to do with you and I.
- 48:22I think it's beautiful I think it's beautiful And I think that we'll probably
- 48:26ponder this And we'll both probably
- 48:27come back with new perspectives Later That seems to always be when,
- 48:32I catch these with people where we just don't quite Communicate It's like it
- 48:37just comes in later I don't know,
- 48:40Fun things in life I guess the question is, are we still recording this?
- 48:45No, this was so shut off when we ended. Did you want to do a recording?
- 48:49I was like, this would be so funny to put it out, actually. I think it would be.
- 48:54We should have caught it. See, my phone, I don't know what it's doing,
- 48:57but see, it said live the whole time. We're still counting live.
- 49:00And it says your mic is muted.
- 49:03Yeah. I don't like this whole time. I can't see your eyeballs.
- 49:08I like I'm talking to you from like here down.
- 49:15I think it's just the way it's Well, you know, it's funny It says It's asking me to end the stream,
- 49:23And I did end the stream Last time, so maybe we are Still live,
- 49:27which is even better Because if it is, I'm putting this up tomorrow morning,
- 49:32If this recorded, feel free I think this was actually beautiful It's a piece
- 49:37of art It's a piece of art today, Gary,
- 49:42It is, and here, I'm going, just to satisfy my craving on this one,
- 49:46I'm going to hit end stream.
- 49:48If it allows me to end it, then it recorded, and we're going to be freaking
- 49:51happy, all right? Let's see.
